How ridiculous. Who cares. Are the other contestants under a shroud of security too? Probably not. Real stars don't need to generate their own publicity. If someone like Jennifer Aniston were going to be on DWTS (I highly doubt it) she wouldn't need to generate publicity because people are ALREADY interested in her. Aniston has the "it" factor that Kate so sorely lacks.
It really shows that people don't give a rusty nickel about Kate and that she's not a star - but more like a lonely D-lister.

Room service, sneak in a massage or two, peace and quiet (no kids clamoring for Mommy), and of course, the the attention and spotlight! And, why is she under a "shroud" of security? She's got an entourage bigger than many rap stars.
I don't watch the show--but I suspect ratings will be high with Kate on--sheeple will tune in to see her succeed, and nonfans to see her fail.
I just don't want to hear her say how hard it was to leave her kids, how she had to work so hard to "support" them (implying that she has to because Jon won't, etc.). It's all BS, IMO.
You know, even back when the show first started, Kate (and Jon) were away from the kids every other weekend going to speaking engagements at churches. I wonder how much the twins saw of them even then, if they were in school all week and didn't get home 'til four in the afternoon. If Jon came home at 6 and then it was dinner, baths and bed (of which Jon did the baths and bed part)--how much time did the twins really have with Kate, aside from filming time?
I don't know why the H*** these two ever had kids. Jon has grown into the daddy role but I think originally he said yes only to please Kate and Kate has done nothing but complain how hard it is to be a mother. I think that's what disturbs me so much about her. The martyr act is just so annoying and selfish and then top that with the hypocrisy. I know there's probably many mothers out there like that but they aren't being promoted as the shining example for all mothers.

RadarOnline.com has exclusively confirmed that reality TV supermom Kate Gosselin will be one of the celebs joining the ninth season of Dancing With The Stars.
The official line-up will be announced Monday night during the big finale of ABC's The Bachelor.
But Kate's new gig will not keep her away from her children. RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that the mom of 8 likely will do most of her practicing near her Pennsylvania home because she insists on putting her children first.
The show was willing to accommodate her because they believe she'll be a huge draw, a network source told RadarOnline.com. Kate is the breadwinner in the Gosselin family now that Jon has spectacularly flamed out and cost the family a ton of cash by first shutting down Jon & Kate Plus 8 when he denied TLC permission to film the children, and then breaching his contact with the network, which caused them to sue.
That suit was recently settled but cost Jon -- and his family a lot of cash. TLC won a preliminary injunction, a sure sign that they would prevail at trial.
With Jon's ongoing series of mishaps, Kate is left as the primary income earner in the household and she's taking it very seriously, sources told RadarOnline.com.
