Jon played with the kids today while Kate was in L.A. rehearsing for DWTS. Perhaps in response to Kate's Kalendar, Radaronline pointed out that Jon was away from the kids more than Kate over the past several months. However that was Jon's whole point in his custody filing--he explained that in the current agreement Kate controls his visitation schedule and would dictate it to him on a weekly basis, abusing the privilege.

Yes, the kids always look happy and content with Jon. He actually plays with them rather than giving them scowling looks or totally ignoring them. It's good to see Mady smiling.

Kate can't act...I think that is why she has Steve. He serves as her block to the world. Then she can hide behind the "Oh, I would sign that for you, take that photo with you, chat with you forever, but he won't let me" wall. I think TLC knows what she would be like actually interacting with fans (she even talks about it in the book...I would talk with you, but I have eight kids to put in the car...) and this way the fans think that she is just a peach and its just the bodyguard keeping them away from her!

2. Not only am I a better mother than Kate, I would say the only creature who is a worse mother is the Giant Panda, who forgets she's given birth and sits on her babies. That's why they're almost extinct.

StoryLady - our Giant Panda at the Zoo Atlanta, Lun Lun, is an excellent mother. I dare say that Kate could learn some wonderful skills about taking care of her kids from Lun Lun.
Looking at her picture on the cover of that "Diary of Dispair" they have photo shopped her picture to the extent that it's almost a cartoon character. I don't get this contract J&K have with TLC. Did they sign it as JKG, their corporate trade name or did they have one for Jon and a separate one for Kart?
Seems they have allowed Kart to write anything she wants, show up on any show she wants and she gets a hall pass in doing so.
If Jon so much as opens his mouth at the fence in Wernersville, the thought Police from TLC will be on the red phone to Williams and Connelly seeking a body attachement for Jon.
On second thought, I don't think they could get a body attachment for Kart. Too much of a risk in cracking the veneers and all the other plastic she's had attached to that body this past year.
I can understand how some could suspect a conspiracy theory in this situation but Administrator is so right. Kate cannot act. And this is mainly due to her NPD. When she is stressed, she is unable to hide her anger. Her intense dislike of Jon was palpable even in the first season, her anger at the judges at DWTS is clearly evident, etc.
When she is calm and fed her lines, she can half-way pull it off. But as soon as she's upset, angered or annoyed, she can't control it...how the paps got the photos of her hitting her daughter in the front yard.
This is why most of my disgust is with TLC. They have taken advantage of a person with NPD and high-lighted all of her histrionics for ratings and money. She's just too blinded by her narcissism to see this.
And her fans say she laughs all the way to the bank. But at what cost? She'll go down in history as being one of the most reviled celebrities of all time...with the likes of Speidi, etc....in the annals of infamy and notoriety. The lives of her children will be negatively affected forever, their most private moments all over the internet for anyone to see.
The ONLY good that can come of this is that perhaps someday....this debacle will be responsible for there being more protections for children on reality TV...so that a corporation like TLC cannot take advantage of children too young to give their consent.
Because there will always be parents like the Heens the Gosselins and Octomom who will put fame and money before the rights and concerns of their young children. And there needs to be protection for the children in these situations.
