I don't understand inf's comments on this article or the last one about Kate. This was Sunday why wouldn't Jon be off from work?
As for the real hatres, I see now. No one is allowed to speculate about Kate but thy can about Jon. Jon looks how I look when it's 20 degrees--f-ing cold.

Laura D. said... 2

Yup, he just looks cold. You know that way you tighten your back muscles when it's beyond freezing? Would the sheeple think he'd look more normal if he whipped off his coat & flashed for the camera. Oh wait...

sadiemay said... 3

Glad Jon was there to take Cara to the doctor.

gramof5 said... 4

The very first thing that I noticed with this picture of Jon and Cara was that, he was holding her hand. It brought tears to my eyes.

I have never seen Kate hold her any of her childrens hand like that. In all the times they have been filmed together for tv or the gossip mags, she just doesn't seem tuned in to any of the children.

This picture was very touching to me. Jon has all the qualities of a loving tender father.Something his children need so badly everyday of their life.

I pray that somehow he will eventually gain full custody of his children and they can live in peace and harmony.

And Kate can travel the world with all it's glory and get her fix on the cameras and plastic surgeries until she is sagging in all in the wrong places and there are no longer any surgeries that can fix her ugly body and her mend of devilish soul.

E-town Neighbor said... 5

It's too bad Kate isn't out and about these past two days, wearing only her sweater to show off her, um...girls! You could have posted side-by-side pics of Kate and Jon! Yes, John looks cold, with good reason. Zero degrees this morning!

PatK said... 6

I don't get why it was necessary to take a jab at Jon's SUV's gas mileage. Ummm...Kate drives an SUV, too. *shrug*

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 7

It makes sense to point out Kate isnt wearing a coat or gloves on a cold day. It is odd. I just dont see anything about these photos to criticize or is odd. If he werent wearing a coat that would be odd, but he is. Jon dresses conservative and weather appropriate, leaving him less open to criticism. He gets it.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 8

The suv jab is another comment I dont understand whatsoever. The same as their comment about Kate actually lifts the kids. Huh? Lately INF's mean spirited comments toward BOTH Jon and Kate are really unnecessary. There is plenty to criticize about there two before resorting to these odd baseless attacks. They have 8 kids an SUV is a reasonable car to get! A lot better than Jon's sports car he got rid of awhile back.

marie said... 9

INF posts their comments so that they can fuel the people who comment on jon and kate. It's totally obvious to anyone with half a brain why they do it.

granny 66 said... 10

I believe where the kids are, the RV goes!! Knowing Kate, when he picks it up with the kids in it, it is probably on empty.

Jon does have a job, a good one, and one that he likes. There has been a lot of miscommunication about his job with the "gossip rags", about where he works, when he works, and if he works. He is doing everything he should be doing, and is in conformity with judicial decisions.

I thought Cara looked cute and complete in her outfit--jacket, nice jeans, and new tennis shoes. Much better than the messy outfits the twins wear so often. I suspect that Ellen has a hand in this.

We have to trust that eventually these children will have more access to their Dad, whom they adore!! He is their "safe" place to fall.

Jon is a good and kind man who had some bad behaviors for a few months. Those are behind him now. I hope that special that is coming out will not "throw him under the bus", as the media is so prone to do!!

mama mia said... 11

Is that Jon's SUV or is her just borrowing Kate's?

K8SUCKS said... 12

Good Lord, it's twenty-ish degrees - Jon is cold.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 14

I can understand the desire to psychoanalyze a photo I just don't get it when it comes to THESE particular photos. They are the most benign I've ever seen from this mess. You can't even tell anything with Jon so bundled up.

I don't want to hear it from the sheeple complaining about Kate being psychoanalyzed if they are trying to rip apart a photo of a guy standing in the most conservative outfit ever, appropriately dressed, just being a dad and doing chores. You can't even see his eyes, he's wearing sunglasses.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 15

That says 4Matic on the back of the SUV. Is this a Mercedes?

Okay if so I do have questions where the money is coming from to afford luxury SUVs before the children's college funds are fully funded.

That's Jon's own SUV. I dont' know the make/model, but it's the one he bought for Hailey.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 17

I think it's a Mercedes, and I find it highly irresponsible for either of these parents to be purchasing luxury cars on the children's dime. A luxury car today will do nothing for the children when they are 18.

It was about the toys for these two. The hell with the kids, it was all about how they could have a luxury lifestyle. Jon got his sports car and Mercedes, Kate gets her hair extensions and trips. All thanks to the kids.

It's so mind-baffling the way they both have blown the children's income on things that are not even CLOSE to investments, do not even remotely benefit the kids, only benefit the adults, and are straight up money-pits.

Mandy said... 18

Okay, I see what's going on here.. No, really! It's a one-sided rivalry. Here's how it works.

My kids have been very privileged to attend a great high school. When it first opened it was basically out in the cornfields. Thanks to suburban sprawl, it's now a pretty large school with many very competitive sports teams.

I've heard stories of how back in the day, when our school was new and very small, they wanted so badly to beat a particular school in ANYTHING, but they just didn't have the manpower. As the school grew, however, they became much more competitive, overpowering the older school in most things, and eventually, that rival school closed due to decreasing population in that area.

While that other school was in its downward spiral, a curious thing happened. They began to HATE our school with a passion. We watched, amused, as they became so hateful toward our school. Even the parents became involved, spreading nasty gossip, etc. It reminded me of a tiny little kid trying to hurt a full-sized man. And the thing was, we didn't really see them as a rival.

It's the same with the sheeple sites. I was a sheeple, unlike my friends and relatives, who thought I was nuts. I just don't like people picking on other people, and I thought that's what was happening. Then I found the sheeple sites, and about two days later, I became a "hater".

Why? Well, a few days ago I decided to spend some time revisiting the sheeple sites to review this and discovered the following things:

Mandy said... 19

On one site, they accused 99% of the people on this site of having anger issues toward their mothers. I guess if there are exactly 100 people posting here, it could be true, because my mom was a great mom, and after I was an adult, my best friend till the day she died. I suspect, however, that there may be many more posting here at 15 Minutes who would be willing to confess they have/had a great relationship with their mothers, too, thus disproving the sheeple accusation.

On another site, it is claimed that all views are welcomed, yet a poster posted that everyone who disagrees there is politely shown the door. I see how it is. Yeah. A classic case of good cop/bad cop. The owner lets the henchmen berate and bully and name call people who have different points of view in very mean and vile ways until they are gone so she can pretend to be open-minded.

I don't know what to say about the third blog that I studied. The owner claims to be Kate's biggest fan, and I suspect that is true, but for someone who claims everyone should be nicey nicey, she's nasty nasty.

I just found a fourth blog, but I won't comment yet, because I haven't really been there much.

What does it all mean? These people are the rudest and meanest people I have ever seen on the internet, but they are fighting a losing battle... And I suspect deep down they know it. That's because their team sucks. I bet in real life most of them are really nice people, but they got caught up in all of this and can't stop. I think it's become more about the rivalry (war), and not so much about Kate or Jon, though they keep trying to paint Jon as the fame whore, despite the fact that he is barely in the public eye anymore.

Meanwhile, let's keep sticking up for the kids. No one deserves what they have to put up with. And maybe one day the sheeple will stop their nasty snarking, see the light and join us.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 20

LOL Mandy at your brave case study.

To that I would say well they must have issues with men since they have such a vile hatred of Jon, right? What's good for the goose is good for the Gosselin.

I love my mom, I have a great relationship with her, and she's not a narcissist! After hearing about a few people who DO have narcissists for mothers and watching Kate I feel so very blessed to have had pretty much the most normal middle-America Norman Rockwell childhood one could hope for, and the older I get the more incredibly thankful I am for that. The narcissist in my life was my employer and the nice thing about that was I could leave. I have a great relationship with my dad, too. So I guess mommy and daddy issues are not the problem here at least for me.

I don't like that Kate exploits the kids and steals their childhoods away, I don't understand why this is so hard for them to understand. You don't have to have any kind of "issues" in your background to recognize child exploitation when you see it. Like I've said before, I will never understand people who always leap to the defense of the adult. Wouldn't any warm blooded person naturally leap to the defense of a child? Thankfully most of her fan base has seen the light and been depleted anyway.

Mandy said... 21

*********************************************
So true, Admin. Especially after the SPA episode. I don't know anyone who doesn't think that was a whole fake set-up thing on Kate's part. She had every intention of making that scene there. That was the end of pretty much anyone defending her, I believe. I still don't get why she couldn't have said in advance that she knew she'd be out of her element, so the plan was changing to a two to three hour visit at the campsite.

If you think it's true that she set that meltdown up, then there is no other conclusion to be drawn than this: THOSE POOR KIDS! Who does that to her children?????????

****************************
Okay, that's TWO of us who adore our moms and vice versa! Anyone else?

Great post Mandy !

I can appreciate that everyone has their own take on the Gosselin's and their issues. To each his own and we can agree to disagree. What I don't understand is why the sheeple spend so much time hating on those that don't agree . They don't want to debate or discuss an issue ....they want to hate on the poster saying it. It's gang mentality at it's finest.

&&&&&&&&&&&&
Mandy, bingo. I think that's why so many sheeple lined up to be fleeced after that particular fiasco. There was no excuse or reasonable explanation out of it. Either Kate was really being herself--which means she ruined the kids' fun and was an ungrateful bitch, or Kate faked the whole thing for ratings and drama--in which case she not only still ruined the kids' fun, but also showed absolutely no dignity or self-respect. Both scenerios are absolutely terrible. In both scenerios the kids were very badly hurt, and in one Kate is a bitch, and in the other, she sells out. It's negative all around. No positives. Most of the sheeple finally got it. People ask why now, why the Alaska episode to make sheeple leave? Because of the above. No way out. It was the one time there was no excuse for Kate and the flock jumped right off a cliff, as they should.

Even the remaining few sheeple, it's my understanding that at least they finally hold TLC at least partly responsible. My understanding is they feel how we feel, they can't stand TLC now. Because of what they did in the Alaska episode. Whatever it takes I think the more the merrier who don't put up with that network with no morals.

Sadie I don't get this either. Is this how they behave with their families, coworkers and friends? It's my way or the highway?

Even if Kate were a nice person and good mother, I still wouldn't understand anyone over 13 years old who worships a celeb, devoting blogs to their worship, etc. You can admire someone or like someone, for instance I like what I've seen of Tom Hanks especially stuff the general public hasn't seen like all the volunteering he does with his town's Little League. But that's as far as it goes, I like him! The rabid worship is creepy. As someone else pointed out, false idol.

In his own words this is why Ron Howard's childhood didn't f him up when he grew up.

Ron Howard synopsis of Daily Show apperance last week, summarized, this isn't the direct quote but close enough: I was VERY lucky as a child to be on a very positive light-hearted, collaborative set. I wasn't exposed to the dark side of Hollywood. I felt valued and important because even as a child I was allowed to contribute ideas and opinions about the scripts and sometimes they were even used.....

Will the Gosselins say the same about their experience on set? Was it light-hearted, positive and collaborative? Were their thoughts and opinions valued? Or were they forced to work come hell or high water no mater if they were vomiting, had double-ear infections, or were constipated.

I think we all know the answer.

Sadiemay said... 28

Yes ...anyone with their eyes open knows the the answer to that question. My fear is that it's already too late for them. I fear that their emotional and psychological health has already been compromised by what these parents have done in their own selfish desires for fame and fortune.

Count me in as one of the lucky ones who has a great relationship with her mom. Now, she sure as h8ck can drive me crazy sometimes, but she has a heart of gold and I have never felt anything but pure love from her, and also my dad for that matter. You know the scene in "Terms of Endearment" when Shirley M is yelling for someone to give Debra W her pain meds so she wouldn't have to suffer? That would be my mom.

I know I am lucky but I never knew just HOW lucky until I started reading the many posts from people who had very difficult childhoods. It's heartbreaking to read.

What TLC,K8 and, unfortunately in the beginning, Jon, have done and continue to do to these children is truly XXXX (insert any synomyn of despicable). Those poor babes.

Mandy - well done !

Ron was being interviewed a few years ago and he said the only "bad" experiences he ever had on the set was that when the script called for him eating ice cream, they actually served him mashed potatoes so it wouldn't melt all over the place. He did say it was always a big disappointment for him, but I'm sure he got real ice cream when he wasn't on the set.

Built Like a Tank, while Mercedes may have a great reputation in safety ratings, there are many much more affordable cars the children's money could be spent on that are just as safe. Most people pay top dollar for a Mercedes for the name MERCEDES--the cachet. If it were just for safety ratings there are several much more reasonably priced cars that get just as good safety ratings.

My car was under 20,000 and U.S. News gave it a 10 out of 10 in safety ratings. That was my priority when I was buying a car. Ok so it doesn't rank as high as a Mercedes for interior and other things, but at least I bought it with my own paycheck, not some 6-year-old's.

Pots and Kettles? That is the whole point trying to be made. HERE. Sheeple come HERE and try to distrupt things, they care soooo much about what is said here. So much so that they lurk all day long, bring posts back to their own sites, makin fun of people, and posting trolling comments here. I know what goes on, I'm not stupid. But I have to admit I don't get it, whatsoever.

And since you don't moderate my comments how do you know what is rejected? Actually, I hardly reject very many comments at all, maybe a few a day. And since I get 50 to 100 a day and sometimes more that ain't bad at all. Unless all those comments rejected were from you? Are you the one posting comment after trolling comment? If so you can stop because they aren't getting through. If people are claiming that I always reject sheeple comments they are lying because I don't reject many comments period at all.

We don't go around to other blogs trying to change people. But you all come here trolling around? Why? Why is it so important to you to change people's opinions here? Why are you even posting here? Why is it that we don't care to try to distrupt your blogs, but you want to distrupt ours? Is it what you do for fun?

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 35

The proof is in the pudding. I don't see very many sheeple comments period anymore. The problem sheeple, is that most of you are either keeping to yourselves, which is what we do, or there just aren't that many left of you.

Maybe that is why they have turned into a bunch of bullying mean girls, it kills them they are dying off and they are bitter.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 36

Fidosmommy, thanks for the mashed potatoes story. The fact that Ron Howard recognizes himself as lucky is proof that he knows how easily his childhood could have been very, very bad.

It seems to me an important defining factor in the few child celebs who came out of the experience a positive and happy person is a good set environment. This is what the Little House kids say about their experience, most of which went on to be very successful and balanced people--that Michael Landon was great, he looked after them and protected them, that he was their literal guardian angel.

Further proof that you need an ON SET ADVOCATE, a set teacher, child advocate what have you. Michael Landon sort of stepped up and was that person and it seems to have made all the difference. What is the opposition to a set advocate for the Gosselins? If nothing is wrong what are they afraid of?

The children forced to work when sick and uncomfortable or hot, that alone makes for a negative set environment.

Well Mandy I don't like my mother, Kate is her doppelganger. That doesn't make me a hater, or someone with anger issues. Just allows me to recognize a narcissist and a selfish mother when I see one.
I don't hate Kate Gosselin. How could I? I have never met her. I have only seen on television what she and TLC have chosen to show me.
I think I am a rational, educated person that can make an informed decision about things I read or see on TV.
I have seen Kate screaming at her children over minor things. I have seen them flinch when she turns to speak (berate) them. I have seen her demean and emasculate her husband in front of the camera. I see that their schooling is second to her 'career.' (laughing at the word career.)
I wont go on as anyone that has watched this show has seen the same thing. I haven't been to any other blog about the Gosselins, sheeple or otherwise. I can't even remember how I came across this one but I find the comments reasonably accurate and very well stated. Along with some that are hilariously funny.
Welcome to a decent blog that has the welfare of the Gosselin children as it's reason for being.

I can understand if it's a competition type show , a la Survivor or Top Chef , where the voted-offs have to remain mum until filming has ended.

I realize that CA's are common but to the degree that TLC has forced everyone to turn a blind eye and keep their mouths shut about what really goes on behind the scenes ?

******

He was great to his own kids in real life, too.
The mother of his children (wife 2?) was from my hometown, and when the Landons would come to visit, one of my good friends babysat for their kids while the adults went out. My friend said Michael was wonderful to her (paid extremely well) and wanted to hear all about the evening my friend had with his kids. He was very proud of them and it showed. They adored him. I don't know how that panned out in their later lives, but when they were little, he was a great daddy to them.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 44

Fido that is a great story. It is so nice to hear about a celeb who appreciates the nanny. These are after all the people who are supposed to be looking after the people most important to you--why one earth WOULDN'T you treat them like gold? And yet people don't. Sally Field is also well known for appreciating the hired help too.

I know about a couple of the kids for one, Michael Jr. is a very successful director who has really contributed to this niche market of real "feel good" movies like Velveteen Rabbit and the Love Comes Softly series. And Leslie is an experienced family therapist in L.A. and does a lot of good work in that field.

The family was sort of well known locally because they gave like crazy to all kinds of charities including pretty much buying out the Little League park so it didn't fall victim to developers (it is now one of the most beautiful LL parks in the country), and his widow still does a huge Doctors Without Borders gala every year at their house.

I checked online for a couple other of kids...he had nine!
Cheryl got her master's degree in education and is a teacher. Christopher is a screenwriter and spokesperson for gay rights. He wrote Disturbia that was pretty successful. Jennifer is a soap opera actress who has won Emmys. Not too shabby.

I think it's also very telling these kids didn't reject show business like so many children of celebs do. If it's positive for you why would you?

Im sorry. I said "Kate's car," not the Mercedes. Kate doesn't have a Mercedes. I don't doubt that there are many cars built today with superior safety ratings. Absolutely. I just gave my observation. She needed a car that could accommodate the children, and yes, with an extra seatbelt installed, it is an eight passenger car (I doubt that she takes all of the kids in it at the same time). The current cost of gasoline right now is another issue! I'm wondering who is filling her tank, because I don't recall seeing her at the pump lately, and the vehicle is a gas-guzzler...no question about it!

That said, did she lease it? I seem to remember when she got the SUV that it was reported (unconfirmed) that it was comped by TLC, but I'm not sure if that meant it was purchased outright, or if TLC was taking care of the lease payments.

If she isn't tired of it already, and doesn't need the newest, biggest and most expensive car out there, she could still be driving it when the twins get to college. It is a well-built vehicle.

"Most people pay top dollar for a Mercedes for the name MERCEDES--the cachet."

Yes, indeed, which is why I would never buy another one. It was not a good experience for me, although there are some who swear by them.

Admin, do you know that on that very site listed above, you are being accused of being hysterical about not being the one interviewed for the E special, instead of WG? Unbelievable!
I agree with you about the Mercedes. He had that AND the Beemer that he got rid of. Kate drives a .Landcruiser, top of the line for Toyota, apparently given to her by TLC quite some time ago. She doesn't usually have kids in it, nor does Jon, so I don't know why they don't downsize to more reasonable cars.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 51

Lol. Cute PJ. I don't want to be on a TV show or write a book. I was an extra once in my employer's movie and I hated every minute of it. I wouldn't want to be interviewed by E! nor did I seek them out. I don't care if other people want to. I just don't think talking heads are all that helpful. Sorry if that makes me "jealous"! Oh and another reason I can't appear on a TV show is because I would fear for my safety at the hands of the sheeple, so thanks to them I wouldn't go on even if I wanted to.

Nina Frye asked me to interview for her first anti-Kate show. I turned her down. You can ask her. I don't like fame. I know this is hard for sheeple to understand because they all want to be Kate.

I've been out most of the day -- you know living a real life that we are accused of not having because we are always on the computer -- and just checked in and wanted to put in my vote for having the absolute best mother in the world. She was the light of all our lives and she was just a wonderful, light-hearted, loving, caring person and I miss her every day. What I wouldn't give to just hear her voice one more time.

Why are the sheeple going on and on about Jon? They wanted him to go away - he has stayed quiet. They wanted him to get a job - he got one. And on and on. But even when he stays in the background, they are still trying to blame him for everything. What I wish they would explain is how they KNOW for a solid FACT that Jon has been dropping information to the media. Of course, they can't prove that because they are once again just trying to blame Jon for everything. These are the same people who have said (and I have read it) that they are just like Kate, they think like her, run their family like her and have a relationship with their husband just like her. In fact, one of those head sheeple claims she told her husband one day that she wanted to scratch his eyes out. That's really something to brag about. I think they have some mistaken idea that if they stay Kate's fans that Kate will someday suddenly welcome them into her home for tea and crumpets. Wake up sheeple, it ain't happening. Why do you think she has never acknowledged you? Why are you not asked to be in a program about her? Yeah, that's what I thought.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 53

You know in thinking about this I think the sheeple just hate that I agree with them about the E! special. That people who don't even know Kate are not all that helpful. It's not personal, I'm just saying it's not as helpful as say if they got someone like Beth. I don't think I myself have anything to add to an E! special even. I think they HATE that they agree with me. Why???? Why do they care? Why are they so obsessed with me, LOL? Doesn't that just feed my huge ego they claim I have?

You can't win with them, if I go on E! I'm a famewhore who doesn't even know Kate. If I stay off, I'm just jealous and I want to be ON IT. What exactly am I supposed to do then according to them? What will satisfy them?? It's like Jon when he was with Kate, the man couldn't win. You're right, they ARE just like Kate.

You know now that I'm thinking about the movie I was in, I only ever saw a rough cut of it with numbers still on the bottom. I never even saw the real movie even though it's on Netflix streaming now and I easily could. I don't want to see it, the whole idea of being in a movie makes me cringe even as an extra. I never even showed it to my parents let alone friends. This kind of behavior really is exactly how someone who just wants fame would behave right??? Snark.

Famewhores said... 54

It's very hard for someone who is an aspiring famewhore who wants to be like Kate to understand someone who doesn't. This is why they see nothing wrong with the kids being filmed, they would love it so they think any kid, or adult for that matter, would too. Look at me, look at me.

Why should she if the car was given to her by TLC "quite some time ago?"

TLC: "Kate, how about we take back the Land Cruiser and give you a Rav4 instead -- it's a more reasonable car and you don't usually have the kids in the car anyway!"

What do you think her answer would be, and could it be said in mixed company?

Actually, not so long ago(maybe a week?) the sheeple were discussing how not one day passes by without Jon drawing attention to himself and without being front page news.(What paper are they reading??) They said they are waiting for the day in which they will hear nothing about Jon.Also, they are all over the rumor about Jon quitting his job(they obviously do not believe that he may have quit one job after being hired somewhere else). Basically, the sheeple are denying all those things you just said about Jon and insist with the Jon-is-a-low-life-media-whore-jobless-bad-father-guy thing..Jon could win the Nobel prize and the sheeple would be talking about how Kate deserved the price but Jon brainwashed the entire nation and that is how he got it...

Admin, I have my doubts about Nina's epiphany. JMO, I think she is just jumping on the "let's bash K8 Gosselin for higher ratings" bandwagon.

As for interviewing you or WG, I am glad that you said no. I sometimes read WG's site and for the most part, I think she is very level headed. I am part of the minority who does not think that her visit to the maze was stalking - on the contrary, I think it was a great opportunity for someone to get the real scoop. Unfortunately, because WG did have some ok things to say about K8, those are the quotes that will be used in the THS segment, no doubt. As for Eric Roberts, et al, they add absolutely no value . If anything, they diminish the credibility of the story being told.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

I just priced a used 2008 with 30,000 miles (from a dealer). He's asking $30,000 for it.
NEW 2011 models here are listed at $68,000.

--------------------------------------

This is not a "rides in comfort" car, when you think of comfort being luxury, as in a Benz or a Cadillac. This is more truck-like, and it does take some getting use to driving, both in the ride and handling of it. But once you have one, you don't want to let go, which is why so few of them show up at used car dealers. There are so many "gadgets" and operational functions on it, such as slip differential, power boost, towing ability, features for getting out of deep snow, etc., etc., so if she ever gets stuck in the mud, she'll slip right out of there. I wonder if she even knows how to use those options and if she ever read the driver's manual (actually more like a thick-volume book). She'd be stuck in the snow and call AAA on her pink cell phone, not knowing that there is a feature right at her fingertips for getting her "unstuck!"

"Unfortunately, because WG did have some ok things to say about K8, those are the quotes that will be used in the THS segment, no doubt."

---------------------------------------

Totally agree. I'm glad Administrator isn't commenting on the show. I would be afraid that whatever was said would be manipulated to fit into their agenda, whatever that would be. It's so easy to take things out of context and slant them however they choose.

K8, thanks. I try to make the best decisions I can when it comes to this blog, and it has to be a decision that is right for me too. I can't do something I feel will compromise my own safety. I know that's hard to understand for the sheeple, someone who doesn't want to be public, but some people actually want to maintain their privacy, all of it. In their world everyone wants to be famous like Kate, everyone wants to be interviewed and get attention. You can't change their worldview. In fact I would spin it around and suggest that they are all up in arms about this E! thing because no one from THEIR camp was interviewed, and that must sting. They are the ones who can't stop talking about it, they must be the jealous ones.

My gut on the Nina interview is it didn't feel "right" for the blog. I passed. I didn't make some big announcement about it when I passed because that was sort of the whole point, I didn't want to make it a big deal. I guess they can't say I'm jealous of those who were interviewed since not only was I asked, but I was asked to do her first show. All the best to Nina, it isn't personal.

K8 hit on another huge concern about going on a show like E!. They could easily pull one or two things you said out of context and run with that and bury everything else. That's a risk you take when you interview for an edited segment and one others are willing to take in the hopes it will turn out right and that's fine. But I'm not willing to go there and compromise my integrity or the blog's. Look at what they did to WG and Eric Roberts for the press release--pulled two positive quotes. When we all know that both of them are not Kate's fans.

I just read WG's blog for some insight in why she did the show and she had an excellent point, that during the interview she was quite aware that the kids might be watching. She's right, I think it's far more likely a kid would see this E! special than comb through thousands of blog comments or happen upon some radio show during school hours. Because of that she felt she had to sort of watch what she said and her point is well taken, what if the kids DO watch.

So already there is self-censorship going on and this feeling of discomfort because of the kids which is not a feeling I'm ok with. Again, not something I would want to participate in, but that's just me and I don't care if others want to.

========================

It's set for a Wednesday at 10 p.m. on a school night. These kids are in bed, according to Kate, at 7:30 p.m. Do you really think that she would allow them to watch a show in which quite possibility, not only the good might be revealed, but also the bad and the ugly? Even if this were re-run during a time when the kids would watch, I would expect she gives instructions for the nanny not to let them watch it, under penalty of severness.

Maybe I'm totally missing something here, and some astute bloggers can point out the fallacy of my thinking. Why would the kids be allowed to watch this?

I have always thought it so odd that this dinky little show (relatively speaking) required confidentiality agreements from so many.

_______________________________________________

I agree. Why?? What REALLY goes on behind the scenes then? We see Kate & what she does in front of the camera, I cannot imagine what she must be like to those kids when the cameras aren't on her. But there is also the question of morality & the "What Would YOU Do?" factor. I would think as a decent human being, anyone with half a brain seeing abuse, neglect, mental anguish, on ANY set, Goseelin or not, would report it to the proper authorities, CA or not.

How has Kate gotten away with what she has gotten away ON TV in beyond me. What goes on behind closed doors must be insane & those involved must be afraid they will be sued. I really don't know. We can speculate all we want, until someone comes forward, we will never know.

Watching the E! show ups Khates' value as an overall celebrity and who can bring in ratings. It's not about her getting paid, but about her "value" as a star.

So I won't be watching.

Tucker's Mom said... 70

I think the older girls are at an age that not much is going to get by them. They will be privy to the E! THS. Much of it will have to involve the children- they are Kate's claim to fame.
I will also say that I respect both blog owners for their level of participation online and other media- to each his or her own. I'm not of the thinking that WG is or ever was a stalker. I think her observations were in line with other reports of filming, and that is, it's not spontaneous, rather, it's produced and let's just say, encouraged and guided. I personally found it very insightful to compare and contrast WG's observations and account of the visit to the corn maze to the presentation on film. The footage and narrative would lead the viewer to believe that the family was there at the farm, completing the maze and enjoying themselves for far, far longer than they actually were. Twenty minutes of filming and Kate say's they're lucky they didn't starve in there (or something like that). Very misleading, but then again, she's mastered the art of subterfuge.

But they know nothing about this creature they worship and would have nothing to say if interviewed, except, "Ooooo yeah I like her hair!" or "Ooo yeah the trips she gets are great! But those damn haters of hers! Now let me tell you about this hater named....."

The fact of the matter is, BM and her flying monkies are solely on that blog for the purpose of bad mouthing naysayers. They are not there to discuss their love of the show or how great they think Kate is. They wake up and can't make it through the day unless they get on the internet to trash someone who disagrees with them. These are the kinds of women who don't get along with very many people, if any at all, in their real lives. And they found even more people (naysayers) to fight with.

It is serioulsy a mucked up human being who gets off on doing what they do. They KNOW they don't give a flying flip about Kate. First of all, as Moose Mania pointed out, it is on too late for the kids. Secondly, I think that is the PROBLEM now. People have been quiet because of the kids. I am not saying that one goes on tv, radio or whatever and call her names or be gross about her. But this censorship is certainly NOT helping the kids imo. People who can talk, don't and they should. These kids are LIVING it. The TRUTH is often NOT good. IF people want the REAL truth out, then they should speak it. If people keep pussyfooting around the truth, it will NEVER get out. Of course you can be sensitive to what might get back to the kids, but come on, as I said they are LIVING this nightmare. The truth is NOT going to hurt them anymore than they are being hurt now. In fact, it may very well help them.

regarding the expulsion said... 77

Someone mentioned here, a long time ago that the kids were split three and three at school.Aaden, Joel and Leah in a classroom and Collin, Alexis and Hannah in another. They said the reason for this separation was to avoid conflict(fights between them).

Who else remembers how much Jon and Kate insisted on the fact that Alexis and Collin really don't get along and they're always fighting?

So then, why put these particular two in the same classroom if they were trying to avoid fights?

Also, could it be possible that the two fueled each other and that's why they both got expelled? I mean is it a coincidence that two kids who happened to be in the same classroom got expelled?

It just doesn't make sense to me why they put the two kids who, by the parents' own admission were in a permanent conflict...Does it make sense to you guys?

IDModo said... 78

Lolly- I agree 100%. I am convinced that people who believe Kate's good points must also be mentioned, in an attempt to be "balanced and fair", thereby water down the childrens' nightmare.

The children are already aware of their mother's few good points, and are being overwhelmingly impacted by her abusive ones. They need their reality to be validated, not minimized by the need of adults to appear "fair."

If they are ever to be saved from what is happening, the reality of the lives they are living should be made public, and people need to stop pussyfooting around the truth.

You're so right, the truth may very well help them.

No Mandy, not at all. I didn't feel bad. She wasn't the most imortant person in my life. She was too self absorbed.
I Was actually hoping to show the sheeple that having a horrible mother wasn't a reason to dislike Kate. That it was her own behavior that caused the dislike.
She behaves like a shrew towards her children and she also behaved that way to Jon. She lies. She is never affectionate towards her children, she treats them as though they were in boot camp.
She definitely has control issues and shows signs of obsessive compulsive disorder. Any one that admires Kate may have the same issues. Which could explain the admiration. I think they are all in denial.
I would also like to remind the sheeple that this is America, the land of the free. FREE SPEECH is part of the Constitution. I think they forget this. Having a different opinion on something is allowed. I had to learn all about this wonderful country to become a citizen. I think the sheeple should revise their education and learn about the freedoms that America offers...

I agree. Why shield the kids from what they already know. As Lolly said, they are living this nightmare. Plus, they are going to figure it out sooner rather than kater. (typo & it stays) These kids are not dummies, they know what the deal is, they hear other kids talking. I'm sure they have heard things about Kate, about themselves, about Steve. There is no reason to protect them from anything at this point, I'm sorry. I may be blacklisted for saying so, but the actual, real celebs that did the actual job of protecting their own children & keeping them out of the spotlight, the celeb kids nobody knows anything about? Those are the REAL celebs I think are great & admire for doing a good job of parenting.

Kate thrust her & her kids into the spotlight. Do the kids deserve to be punished & to be unprotected? NO. But, is it Kate's fault that they have all these videos, exposes, magazine articles, internet articles, blogs, photos, etc about the kids? YES. Will the kids eventually see them? YES. Have they already? MAYBE. Whose job is it to protect them from seeing this stuff? NOT US. Given the opportunity, if I knew Kate personally, I would have trashed the hell out of her on THS. Kate dug her own grave, she must pay the price & protect her own kids. And frankly, she's doing a shitty job.

*Maybe this is why she refused to speak on behalf of herself on THS, she couldn't refute the "rumors & hearsay", because it's the TRUTH all the others spoke. Kate has spoken nothing BUT lies, & we all know it. I think this may be it for her. E! dug hard & got to the truth, FINALLY! (hopefully)*

Following every single Gosselin blog, trying to follow Jon on Twitter, tracking down "haterz" IP's and trying to figure out which usernames are sockpuppets like it makes any difference at all. Just another day in the life of a sheeple.

The funniest is when they discuss whether they should contact Kate's lawyers with their inside info on the haterz. They have convinced themselves that Kate is the only celebrity to have nasty rumors spread about her in the tabloids and on the internet and it's their noble job to put a stop to it. They are living in a bizarro world.

Wow. I'm offline for one day and come back to a ton of comments. I'd just like to randomly touch on a few and express my own feelings. I apologize in advance if this post gets a bit long.
Re Jon's Merc - I don't think it's out of line. It's large enough for all the kids and, although expensive, they hold their value better than most cars, are extremely safe, are low maintenance, and if cared for properly, will run forever.
Re my mother - We had some issues, especially when I was a teenager, but I loved her and we had some wonderful times together. She gave me some wonderful gifts - foremost being a love of books and reading (my father also - we were a "bookworm" family). I miss her every day.
Re WG's visit to the corn maze. I don't look at it as stalking, either. It was a public place; she cleared her visit with the owner in advance; she paid her admission; and she went to observe, not disrupt.
I don't think the E!THS will be a "pro" Kate show. I don't watch all of them, or even most, but the ones I've seen have been pretty balanced. They let the chips fall where they may and don't shy away from controversy. WG reported that Paul Petersen told her that the E!THS shows have a reputation for being among the best. Although the publicity quote from WG makes it seem like she might be a Kate supporter, I seriously doubt that that is the only thing that made it into the broadcast. I don't see the logic of including Eric Roberts, though. He's never seen nor observed Kate and, as far as I'm concerned, has no credibility whatsoever. I do hope Beth broke her silence and consented to be interviewed.
Two other child stars who turned out well are Alyssa Milano and Neil Patrick Harris. In an interview (I think it was for the release of the DVD set of "Doogie Howser"), NPH credited having "two sets of parents who did their best to see that I grew up right" - referring to his parents and the 2 actors who played his parents on the show. And Milano credits her parents' treating her like a kid when she was away from the set, and their support and example for growing up well. Unfortunately, Kate's kids only see that example when they're with their Dad.
I don't think commenting on the blog, or on a show, or in an interview, will affect the kids adversely. They LIVE with Kate. They know, better than anyone else, her faults. As someone upthread said, to remain silent is to condone.

The reason people object and say that it's the kids' money is because 1). For most of the time, the kids weren't being paid a penny for their participation in the show. It's only in the past year, thanks to Rep. Murtz's hearings, that Kate has been required to put away a small (15% of proceeds for the show) for the kids. And 2). There wouldn't BE a show without the children. So any money Jon and Kate earned is because of the children. That's not to say that they didn't work when they were on the show, just that it wasn't because of their own, unique talents.

An even nicer thought would be that Kate and Jon were the ONLY bread winners in the family. Then we wouldn't give a damn what car they drove.

True enough. However, wouldn't it be a whole lot grander if Mommy and Daddy had jobs that did not involve putting their children on TV and on display in order to "earn" that money?

If, for example, the kids had jobs as models for the JCPenney back to school catalogue, and Mom had a job as a nurse and Dad had a job as an
IT guy, then nobody would care what Mom and Dad bought with their own funds, assuming they provided shelter, food and all the things growing children require, and the kids got to bank what they earned. But we care about how the Gosselin funds are spent because there would be no Gosselin funds (except what Jon's earning now) without the kids' having been dragged onto the public stage by their parents in order to buy themselves the very best of the best.

regarding the expulsion,

Yes I remember that as well. IIRC, the kids were on the driveway ( what a shocker ) of the old house and the kids were sitting at the Little Tykes-type tables , I think they were eating one of K8's gourmet meals of chips/salsa and 2 grapes. Colin and Alexis kept pushing each other off the seat. I THINK that's what happened but that was so very long ago.

Question for all of you wonderfully intelligent/all knowing people out there. Is there any drug (or medical condition other than peri-menopause!) that makes one ungodly warm all of the time to the extent that you don't dress for winter weather? I have not seen anyone here without a jacket -- not even the tougher than tough guys who think that jackets are a nuisance. In fact, I picked up tonight's newspaper and there was a front-page picture of a guy outside who was so bundled up (ski mask, scarf, hoodie, etc.) that I thought maybe he was a bank robber in disguise! It was a story about the weather.

Then there's Kate.

Momokawa Organic Ginjo Sake?

Seriously the no jacket thing is just getting bizarre. I lived not an hour away from this area of PA for several years, in fact I only moved away just as the Tups were born, and I was wearing my winter jacket and hats and gloves four months out of the year non-stop. It's just nut-so to go out without it. That aside her outfit is fine. But why is she so hot-blooded?

Marley, E! did not approach me. WG says they only approached her probably because she lives in the neighborhood. At least she is a "neighbor" per say it makes sense to approach her. Who am I?? Nobody.

Who did approach me was Nina Frye, and I turned her down. I was using that as an example of proof that radio/tv/media interviews are really not of all that interest to me and that I can and do turn them down. Yes I would have turned down E!.

It's kind of the old all different kinds of parts make up the body? Some people prefer to be on the TV/radio/book front like Nina and WG, others prefer to stay quieter on the blogs, others prefer to be on the political front talking to Paul and Murt, etc. We each have our niche. Apparently for some, some like Kate, it is beyond their comprehension why anyone would ever turn down a radio/tv spot.

I think it was established long ago that "coupon" was code in Gosselin-land for "gift card." Remember the episode when Jon bought a shower head, and Kate had a fit because he didn't "use a coupon"? Tell me, when have you EVER seen a coupon for a shower head????? Those two grifted off the public -- including endless gift cards from countless stores -- and Kate is STILL doing it. She just keeps switching sponsors as she burns more bridges. Seems like Juicy Juice and Gymboree have jumped ship ... but looks like Target may be on board. Will the freebees ever end???????

Yes, Grammy, Coupon clipping my arse!

Sounds like Pressi's horrible experiences growing up influenced how she feels about Kate. And probably gave her a unique perspective on this situation. And that's fair enough. But no one should assume everyone who has Kate's number only does because of some kind of bad childhood experience.

In fact, the way so many of us are so well-versed in what makes a GOOD childhood (time with family, waterballoon fights, cuddling up together to watch fireworks, bike rides along the lake, picking strawberries, and usually nothing that has to do with spending millions) suggests that most of us have a lot of experience with a positive childhood, either from our own experience growing up or what we've created for our kids or if we're fortunate, both. I know that is, thank God, where I'm coming from.

Sometimes a negative experience can be turned into a positive one. Pressi's experience was very similar to mine, especially being dressed alike with my sister and being treated like empty vessels (dolls)
I am blessed/cursed with an eidetic memory, I remember how a kid feels at every age (After the age of 3). My narcissistic mother taught me how to be a good mother. I did EVERYTHING opposite to what she did. I have three very successful children.
Watching Kate as a mother I remember vividly how it felt to be 'the child.' Some of us overcome mothers like Kate. Like all survivors, we float to the top.
I hope that there are some of us that can help the 8 little Gosselins to float to the top regardless of their rotten mother.

Off topic, but I just caught bits and pieces of the McCaughey septuplets special (13 years old now). The ending moments were of their 13th birthday party. It really touched me. Each kid had their own little cake, the living room was packed with relatives and friends, and it seems they drew lots to see who got to sit in the birthday chair and open gifts. One girl got a bottle of lotion and she was sooooooo sweet as she said, "Thank you, Grandma!" I don't really obssess over the G's; my mom was like theirs so I watch in morbid fascination more than anything, but I couldn't help thinking about their birthday parties/Christmas celebrations. Their mother going on and on about how SHE arranged the beautiful cake, the food, the decorations, how old SHE is now that they are 6, her her her nonstop, and there were no other kids there, no family members, nothing. Just the kids and their parents and the crew, while Kate screeched and bullied her way through the day to have control of EVERYTHING. That made the kids tense and they'd fight and melt down over presents and other small stuff. The Mc's mom was talking about how the kids are all in different places, as girls mature faster than boys, and she was OK with that and didn't want to push anyone to be anything they were not ready to be yet. In fact, in their small school, the kids only have one class together. And then there's Kate, treating her kids like two separate little units. It's sad.

((((((((((((

In the Sunday newspaper supplements here, many times there are coupons for bathroom fixtures. I used a coupon for a showerhead...one with five dollars off, with a mail-in rebate. It was a very nice showerhead! In fact, I was thinking about Jon when I paid for it.

Penny pincher said... 111

IIRC the shower head coupon that caused the big fight was one from Bed,Bath, and Beyond. Their coupons are usually pretty valuable - 10%-40% off any one item and if the shower head was expensive it could have meant a pretty big savings.
With Kate, was it the money not saved or the fact he didn't follow orders that upset her the most?

Gut Feeling said... 112

That coupon was for $20. She said it was like throwing $20 out the window. I think she just used it as an excuse to rail against Jon on TV, like that made him the bad guy. She was traveling with Steve then and had just come home to do laundry and leave. I particularly did not like that episode. She had that brief interim to reconnect with the kids and walked off and left one of the kids (hopefully with someone) having a "fit" at bedtime in a room with 2 others because she couldn't watch a movie and came down and told Jon that she thought movies were for naptime. Some hands on mom. She had no clue and looked ridiculous trying to pretend that she did. When traveling when Steve she didn't take phone calls from home unless her "gut" told her it was an emergency. Not sure if it was the same episode but close. That was one of the last episodes I watched. I despised her after those two incidences which capped off the get a good look at this bedroom because it is the last time you will see it under penalty of severeness and Jon just looked at her like she was insane.

regarding the expulsion said... 113

She looks relaxed with her daddy, as the kids mostly do when they're around him. What a tormented life they're leading. I wish Kate would see through the eyes of her children.

and re: the sheeple. I wonder if they know they are regarded by Kate in the same manner as are Jodi, Jon, Kevin, ma and pa Kreider and paper towels. I almost feel sorry for them.

"Admin she was quite aware that the kids might be watching."

Let's call a spade a spade said... 116

About this E! thing: Don’t take this the wrong way, but the Gosselins are not the only children in the world with a bad parent. Why when it comes to Kate must we conspire to hide the truth for the sake of her kids? This vile woman gets to continue doing what she’s doing and be praised for it because we wouldn’t want to say anything that might offend her children. Is it just me or are we making things worse while meaning well? I’m taking the unpopular stance of hoping this show strips Katie Irene Krieder Gosselin naked. Cover the kids’ ears if we have to. Enough is enough!

Lol.

Ron Howard synopsis of Daily Show apperance last week, summarized, this isn't the direct quote but close enough: I was VERY lucky as a child to be on a very positive light-hearted, collaborative set.

******

Ron was being interviewed a few years ago and he said the only "bad" experiences he ever had on the set was that when the script called for him eating ice cream, they actually served him mashed potatoes so it wouldn't melt all over the place. He did say it was always a big disappointment for him, but I'm sure he got real ice cream when he wasn't on the set.

Administrator said... 125

Administrator said... 127
