Baby Bryn is part of season two of Bethenny Frankel's reality show, Bethenny Ever After, which airs on Bravo this spring. Said Bryn's mom, if the baby were left out of filming, it "wouldn't be real and it wouldn't be a good show."
Bethenny is also a producer of her show, which gives her more control of what will and won't be filmed. In fact, she chose not to film on her actual birthday: "Jason and I just wanted to spend it together. I had a party the night before but we wanted to just do the day of -- going to get massages and going to dinner. We don't want that filmed because we just want to be able to enjoy it without filming."
So, is Bryn getting paid to just be herself? Infants who play newborns in dramas and comedies get paid to just be themselves. We liked Bethenny when she made brief appearances on Real Housewives to provide occasional Long Island zingers (especially love, "Holy inappropriateness, what the F?!" in response to some dirty lingerie). But when she got her own show Bethenny Getting Married and her controlling, demanding, unforgiving personality was truly revealed? Not so much. We don't think her own show will last long, which is good for Bryn.
Note from Admin: Since there's not much to say about the Gosselins lately, I'm going to start the gradual transition of talking about other kids in reality TV and the state of kids and protections in this uncertain area of entertainment. I picked the domain name realitytvkids.com with this in mind.

Kate on George Lopez Tonight: Discussion Thread
What lies will Kate tell this time? Will she bash Jon in the same sentence she vows to never bash Jon? Here we go. Monday night, 2/21/11.
Kids working again on their day off from school
It's President's Day, the children don't have school, and what else would they be doing but working? Someone snapped a photo of Kate and the kids in Giant today, the film crew sandwiched in the aisles with them. Will these kids ever get to actually just have a day off from everything? Thank you to the Twitter mom who snapped and posted the photos of this travesty.

Proof Jon works
It's been reported for several months Jon has a job, and now here's picture proof he's working. Wednesday Jon was on the job site installing solar panels for a green energy company.

We support a job that does not exploit the family and does not perpetuate their relentless public exposure and further the children's disturbing lack of privacy. Thank you, Jon, for taking that leap of faith to go back to the private world after five years of madness. Proof there are ways to support the kids without exploiting them. Jon did it, why can't Kate?

Kate to be on Lopez Tonight Feb. 21
Why is Kate doing the talk show circuit rounds now when according to Kate herself Kate Plus 8 isn't coming back until April?
Is she this desperate to stay relevant? Kate is confirmed as a guest on Lopez tonight on Monday, Feb. 21, according to TBS's schedule, along with guest Amar Stoudemire of the New York Knicks. Lopez films at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, so it's back to Los Angeles for Kate. George Lopez's famous "Keep Kate" campaign on Dancing With the Stars was pretty funny.

Kate post-The Talk
The full episode of Kate on The Talk can be found here: http://www.cbs.com/daytime/the_talk/video/?vs=Full+Episodes
Said Kate of the crew: "These guys when the cameras are off, they’re dads, they’re, they’re helping us, they, they play games with the kids, they read books to ‘em, I mean this is family to us."
The last we checked, the kids have a dad who does all that, and they have a family already, too.

Kate on The Talk: Discussion Thread
Kate is scheduled to be on CBS's The Talk with Sharon Osbourne on Tuesday.
In the meantime, check out this interview with the lovely Aimee Osbourne, on why she chose not to participate in the wildly successful reality show The Osbournes.
Aimee feared she would be "type-casted right away before I had a chance to experience other things." And she says she is "more reserved. My private life to me is very important. So, it didn't feel right because my whole life everything has been so exposed. So I feel as though now I'm at an age, a time of my life when I can make that choice."
Fortunately Aimee was a consenting adult who had a choice. Not everyone wants a reality show.

Can Kate and Jon go back to the simple life?
We say a resounding yes.
Things have been fairly quiet in Gosselin land since the family got back from Australia. There was a skating party and a liquor store run, and a rather mundane E! True Hollywood Story about Kate, but for the most part, the kids have been living their normal lives and being left alone.
Kate's excuse (cop-out) for continuing the filming has often been because, according to Kate, the family can never "go back." But with everything all quiet on the Wernersville front, we ask Kate, didn't you indeed "go back" this month? And was it really all that difficult to give those poor kids a normal, private life?
