Kate: 'We've not stopped filming at all'

According to Kate's own words, the family has never stopped filming their "crazily wonderful schedule." Love when Kate sets the record straight only to accidentally prove our point.

She also says, "my bedroom/office is my 'dumping grounds' as I call it. It's always in half packed to go away mode and half unpacked mode." When you are always packing or unpacking, perhaps you are away from home too much? Kate also talks about how much she loves what she does. "I feel comfortable in my career." If it's a career for Kate, then it's a career for the six-year-olds, no?

Seeking the spotlight: Kate called up Reading Eagle before sextuplets were born

According to The Reading Eagle, Kate wanted the newspaper to follow the story. She contacted them, not the other way around.

Said the local newspaper: "Before all that fame, Kate called our newspaper and offered to allow a reporter to follow the delivery of the sextuplets. It was a great story then, and it changed quickly. Enter the TLC television network, lots of fame and apparently lots of money. Eventually, Kate plus eight, and later minus Jon, settled in Berks again. Someday, I hope, we'll be able to talk to Kate and Jon about the impact all of this has had on their lives and on their children. Unfortunately well, it's the same story about stardom and ignoring the past."

As we have known for a long time, the spotlight was not thrown onto Kate against her will, but rather, she actively, aggressively sought it--using her children to get what she wanted every step of the way.

Paparazzi photos of trip to dentist yesterday and the lone Pap's criminal history

After leaving the kids alone for most of 2011, Chris the lone paparazzo is back--incidentally, just before a new episode of Kate Plus 8 airs. And some impressive sleuthing over at the Grapevine reveals an interesting rap sheet with a history of DUIs, a suspended license (which lifts this April) and an order as recent as April 2010 to attend an in patient alcohol program. Chris has also been charged in the past (though not convicted) of stalking, harassment, and burglary. When you force your children to be famous, you cannot control as easily who is around them.

We're reminded of the several times the children's dental issues have been used to make money and entertain us, especially this trip where the more distraught Alexis was, the closer the camera got. Raise a child with respect, dignity and privacy, and they will learn that all people are to be given the same. But disrespect a child, and they will learn to be disrespectful right back. (Incidentally, it was Alexis who, along with Collin, was suspended from kindergarten this year, many reports indicate for their disrespectful behavior toward the teachers and students.)

INF's Chris has been MIA for about a month. We're guessing those Target shots just don't bring as much dough as they used to, simple as that. So now that there aren't even any paparazzi bothering them anymore, why can't Kate go back?

Amid the news that the concept of Kate Plus 8 might be retooled to be a charity "giving back" show, here's a look at just a portion of Kate's record of generosity, or lack thereof.




August 2010 Kate sells the children's clothes at a consignment shop, a big smile on her face. ($$$!) Makes you wonder if that's why she's always telling the children not to get dirty.



May 2009 Kate makes a heartfelt "donation" of her scooter to Ronald McDonald House. Except this scooter was made for her for free by Orange County Choppers. More of a re-gift?

Circa 2008-2009, Church speaking engagements Even as Jon and Kate Plus 8 really started to bring in the money by the tens of thousands, Kate and Jon continued to ask for "love offerings" at speaking engagements and sell photos of the children for $20 a piece. Cash only. How many middle and lower-middle class church-goers dipped into their savings or social security checks to help this "struggling" family? Perhaps at $250,000 an episode now, Kate could pay some of these people back.

Is TLC changing the concept of Kate Plus 8 to a charity show?

Ron Bonacci, Food City vice president of marketing, said Gosselin’s visit is part of an initiative she plans to spell out in an upcoming season of the show, where she will go to different parts of the country volunteering her time for charities.
So this all was for the show then. Are the kids going to be dragged around the country as well, or will they be allowed to stay around home near their school and Daddy and just be normal kids? Well, if the kids have to be exploited, might as well help other people while doing it....?

Kate at Second Harvest Food Bank

Says Kate, "It's helping, giving back, and being aware. I am guilty of hearing that food banks are collecting food and you kind of let it go in one ear and out the other. We are here not to show, Oh look what the Gosselins did, good deeds on T.V. That's not our aim. Our aim is to bring awareness."

Kate to help out at Tennessee Food Bank

Kate and the kids are scheduled to help out at Second Harvest Food Bank tomorrow. The segment will be filmed to be part of a "giving back" episode. Charity is great and we've been asking for this for ages, but are they doing it just for filming, or because they really do want to give back?

According to WTFM 98.5 in Kingsport, TN, Kate will be a guest on tomorrow morning's show during the 7 o'clock hour. The topic? Child hunger. It's good to see Kate finally giving back on her endless VIP vacations.

It's Spring break from school and naturally, it looks like the kids are being put to work again. A Twitterer spotted Kate and the kids in a Tennessee airport. At some point, we hope these little work horses can get a vacation from what should be their real job, school, that doesn't involve working a second job the entire time.

Are the girlfriend's dogs really peeing all over Jon's stuff?

Jon reportedly makes $35 an hour

Jon, who was recently spotted by several sources and a photographer putting up solar panels in both New Jersey and PA, is reportedly making about $72,000 a year at his construction job.

Is that enough to raise eight children without putting them to work too? With some careful spending, we think so.
