Exactly. I doubt Kate ever lets her phone go dead. She just can't help herself, can she? She's a chronic liar.
Another thing I've noticed is she now calls the shows "episodes". Didn't she rip Jon a new one on one of the shows for calling them episodes? She just went on and on and on about how their life was not to be measured by episodes. No problem with that now Kate, huh?
Hint? Why are we dropping hints? If it's not an episode, why not just out with what they did? They aren't there anymore so the kids aren't put at risk by saying where they went. And if she doesn't want to talk about it, then stop talking about it! But this coy cat and mouse playing games is very annoying. Narcissists get off on playing games though. Riding horses in the wild west, Kentucky Derby... Is anyone else thinking there will be a horse at the compound in a future episode? Remember when Jon and Kate did a little house hunting in a episode and they looked at a ranch house with a functioning horse farm? And of course she currently has the space and the barn... Am I the only one creeped out by the fact that Kate said "the experience the boys had in an EPISODE?" Is their lives measured in episodes? How weird is it? Why not say experience the boys had back in 09 when we went in Wyoming? I don't drink, but I have several friends who love that drink. They say it is light, and very, very good. It must be, they expanded the production so fast, yet still couldn't keep up with the demand for awhile.
The whole pap thing, "we can't go back" thing is just pissing me off. Jon went back. Several reality TV people have gone back. What makes Kate so special? Is she so above TV law & standards that she actually thinks she will be followed by dozens of paps wherever she gos for the rest of her life, no matter what she does?
This so called trip you guys are talking about, & the one she is tweeting about; NO one snapped a photo right? Not even a teenager or an old lady? It's hard to believe that she would spend $4,000 of her own money on the room, plus travel expenses. That was an expensive little mini-vacation for reconnecting. Bet the gymnastics classes wouldn't have cost that much!
I wonder if that getaway with the 3 girls was originally a Kate Plus 8 planned episode, and since the booking was already done, they let her go alone and decided to forgo the expense of bringing all the crew over and filming it since the show is tanking in the ratings.

I hate to say, but I will...those kids still need subtitles? I had cousins- a family of 6 who were close in age. They had their own lingo and accent (weird, they sounded like they came from the slums tho they lived in a beautiful burb). Their accents diminished as they grew older and spread out apart from each other. The G kids have such little exposure to peer language skills and their mother does not model for them with "say hello and goodbye to Mr. XX man vs. using appropriate and respectful greeting, which should absolutely be stressed to kids. Why Kate's dropping all these hints vs. just saying where they were is odd.
I think there are rare situations where it's justified to pull a kid out of school. But pulling them out this much? I can't imagine how the kids can possibly value the importance of school at this point.
Will these kids grow up and be that co-worker who always happens to call in sick on a Friday? Or who shows up late? Or not at all?

I suspect K8 had a "business trip" (paid for by someone else) and it was the three little ones' turn to tag along with mommy, nothing more; doesn't cost much (if anything) to have them in the same room. The fact that it wasn't filmed means it was probably something other than TLC-related. But, who cares? Her even mentioning it reeks of answering to the blogs she says she doesn't even read, so it's rather comical to see how transparent she is (why do transparent people think they are invisible????)
I haven't posted on here in a long time but I feel compelled to with the recent news of low ratings. The writing is on the wall for Kate. Her ugly actions are finally catching up with her. Who in their right mind wants to see a woman go on vacation and then complain about it? She doesn't even act like she enjoys her trips and perks, she acts like its par for the course. I know that this has been said countless times but I have never seen anyone act so greedy and entitled on tv except for the MTV show "My Super Sweet Sixteen" where spoiled teens are thrown lavish parties. Now it makes sense that her biggest fans are teenaged girls.
Kate is likely getting all the trips in while she can; I just googled "compulsory school age in Pennsylvania" and school is not compulsory in that state till age 8. I can see Kate, the honest contract honourer, believing that if school were THAT important, they would make it compulsory at an earlier age.Perhaps she thinks they will all magically catch up when they are 8 years old.

Not to get too personal, although you all know I always do...I take my son out early from school every Friday. I don't want to, I HAVE to, he has a long standing appt that day at 2 p.m. It's the only slot, & it must be done. It's for his therapy. He HAS to go because this kid has been going though some serious crisis this year, plus he has been diagnosed with ADHD & refuses to take his meds. (That's a whole other argument we don't have to get into) My son is a good boy who has made some bad choices.
Anyway, when he misses that last 50 minutes of school on Friday, we have to make up for it on Monday by him coming in early. He has make-up work he has to get done. His teacher & I decided that was the best course of action, that way he wasn't missing anything. I also explained to my son that just because he gets out early on Fri. does NOT mean that that is OK all the time. Other appts for him are made AFTER school, such as the dentist, doctors, etc, & that when he gets a job later in life, "skipping" work on a Fri, even for an hour, will not be acceptable.
What Kate does/is doing, all the time, pulling her kids out of school is making them think that WORK is above an education. That those kids need to make money over learning. They have a long way to go before they even get to middle school, & the twins, high school. She isn't teaching them how valuable an education really is, when frankly they need that more than anything. They will NOT have cameras in their faces for much longer. They will need to go to college & figure out life skills & such. Kate is not teaching them anything like that at all. ~Hippie Chick~

I completely agree with you both. The children are going to be spoiled (if not already). And since their mother doesn't really take time to actually raise them, they can only learn from example and she's not giving them a very example to learn from. Plus with all the VIP treatment they get where ever they go, they will have a warped sense of reality when they grow up.
It might not be compulsory until age 8, but once a kid STARTS first grade, it is compulsory. That's this coming school year. She's probably getting in all the doesn't-matter-absences she can now. If she's even aware of it being compulsory once they start first grade, regardless of age in first grade.
In other words, in PA you can wait to put your kid in school until the day they're 8 (though I don't really know why you'd do that), but if they are in school for a single day of first grade, regardless of age, it's compulsory after that.

I have been reading here and there that this episode is not only very BORING, more so than usual, but Kate totally disrespects her fans and the museum they visited. My daughter said the Pledge of Allegiance with her hand over her heart when she was 18 months old. Of course, my husband and I both spent a lot of time reading to her. It was so cute. I watched the update special on Maliyah and Kendra Herrin last night. They were conjoined, then separated. They are in school now and are each about to get a prosthetic leg.
Maybe it was exploitation, but I have to admit I was completely drawn into their story. When it was over I was thankful I had watched; I offered up a silent prayer that their lives would always be as happy and love-filled as they seemed to be on that special. I hope that in a few years I will find out how they are doing on their legs and that they are involved in the sports of their choice.
Maybe I'm not totally against all reality TV with kids after all. I sure enjoyed last night.

My kids and I went to Disney World last February-I only have "4" but we stand out too due to height. My 19 and 14 year old daughters are 6'1", 17 year old son is 6'6" and my 10 year old daughter is not quite as tall as me at 5'10". I get comments all the time because I feel like I am walking among trees-but I would never assume that the place I was visiting would not "survive".
That also makes me wonder how she is going to handle the kids when they are teenagers. Will they be allowed in "Her Kitchen"? when they are hungry? Will they only be fed as a unit? I laugh on the weekends because my kids are constantly in the kitchen-it is non-stop. We eat our basic meals together but with 4 taller than average kids there is always someone that is hungry.

The Herrin family, on film, took a family vacation to get away for awhile. It may have been a TLC paid trip, I don't know. But the family dynamic was completely different than JK+8 or K+8. It was focused on the kids, but about how normal they are despite their obvious disability of having only one leg each. Each thing they did showed their courage, the complete support they had from both parents, and the kind, sweet interactions between the twins and their older sister and 2 brothers. It was family at its best, IMO.
I believe if the Gosselin shows had focused on how normal things were for them, how being a 6-pack did not interfere with their upbringing, and they were surrounded by the kind of goodness I saw last night, I would have stuck with the Gosselins. Also, if the Gosselin show had been periodic updates, that would have been better, I think.
You know, maybe I have an idea for TLC. Go back to all the families they have showcased - Abby and Brittny Hensel, the Herrin twins, the Hayes, the Roloffs, the people with their unusual medical conditions of every kind, the Gosselins, the A's and the B's and the C's and do updates on them. Two a year on each maybe. That would help us know who's doing what, how they're doing, and any remaining curiosity can be satisfied. And nobody gets overloaded by one family or one overbearing mother. Just a thought, TLC. I'd love to know how Mandy Sellers is doing with her leg problems over there in England....
To Oh Yeah... Yep! I can hear it too. Kate's self-entitlement issues will surely pass on to her children. Hopefully though, the kids will watch the shows & see how Kate acts/acted & distinguish between rude, ignorant, mean & egotistical & friendly, nice, self-aware & kind. Maddy & Cara MUST know from being at school that they are like everybody else & are probably treated as such. Kate probably wants them to be treated super-special, but the administration surely treats them as equals amongst their peers. The tups will get the same treatment as everyone else too, I'm sure.
Kate is a headcase. WHY she thinks they should all be treated as special VIPs is beyond me. It's not like they are royalty. They are on an effing reality show. Also, hopefully none of the kids picked up the NPD gene, if that's how it works, I don't know. The only one I see being at all high & mighty is maybe Hannah? I'm not picking on her at all, but from what I read, she seems to be the "golden child" & will stick by Kate to the bitter end, & probably will end up being the liaison between Kate & her other children when they all move on & become independent of her. GOD FORBID! It just saddens me that Kate acts so self-absorbed & narcissistic in front of those kids & is teaching them that it's OK to demand things instead of asking nicely. Or take take take instead of working for them. Those kids are in for some hard life lessons. Thank God Jon is showing them that now & I hope teaching them that as well. Nothing is free baby. I can't imagine how Kate is dealing with the ratings.. It's pretty telling that there hasn't been a rag mag article or blurb about her in months either. The only people who care anymore are sheeple and "haterz."
Check out that facebook photo. The other woman has a look on her face that says, "Who are you? Why am I taking a photo with you?"
That woman's face is stiff, a generic look, no warmth (reminds me of the look on Donald Trump and his wife in their photo with Kate...like wth? Who is this woman anyway? And WHY are we taking a photo with her?).
Check out the woman's other photos...a real smile that reaches her eyes, some genuine-ness.

Then, I saw on Twitter that a sheeple tweeted that Vicki from Real Housewives of OC posted a photo with Khate from the luncheon to her Facebook. So, I found if on Facebook:
As Kate tweets, I can hear her screeching to anyone around her how she just has to tweet to her "tweeties" because they miss her sooooooooooo much and she can't let them down.
But I will say, she had the girls tucked away in the photo. Can't imagine that was her decision though.
Something just does not smell right about that little trip "out west", squeezed in right before the Kentucky Derby trip. Khate mentioned it was like the EPISODE with the boys last year, they rode horses, etc. Okay, now she's at the Derby.......I think I'm sensing a theme here. Perhaps TLC is filming everything for an episode that features Khate and the little girls on a trip out west, and then Khate at the Kentucky Derby.
I hope against hope that Kate at my beloved Kentucky Derby will not be shown on any TV set in the world. I would never feel that same about the first Saturday in May ever again.
RE: Kate being # 44 in the Pegasus Parade. That's plunk in the middle when people are starting to wear down a bit, but they know there is much more to see. It's about the time they start opening water bottles, get out some gum or mints, or shift around some. They will have already seen the Governor, some Louisville VIP's like the Mayor and some local celebrities, and lots of bands and vehicles. Toward the end the interest picks up again. So Kate is set to ride just about the time people are looking at their watches. How fitting. It's time, Kate, time to go.
I've been in touch with many of my Louisville friends in recent days - many never left the city like I did - and they have no idea who Kate Gosselin is or why she's in the Pegasus Parade. She has not made too much impact on my hometown, I'm glad to say. She won't be a blip on anybody's radar there.

I'm sorry, but I'm missing the joke about the Facebook picture. It's no hotel. It's Churchill Downs.
Vicki and Kate are standing on the balcony just outside the area called "millionaire's row". It is a dining/lounge room utilized by corporations to entertain their guests during Derby Day and other events at Churchill Downs. On this day, a non-Derby day, it would be filled with "lesser folks" (?!) that are there on their company's dime, not the big wigs who are there to wine and dine their prospective business contacts. Taking clients to the Derby or just to Churchill Downs is a very common thing for companies to do.
I have been in the "expensive seats" many times at Churchill Downs because I was there by invitation of a friend whose father's company owned a booth. We had full access to the dining room and balcony Kate was in for that photo. It's not as wonderful as you might think. It's no royal palace in there, just a very comfortable place to gather, have a drink, and wait for the next horse event to take place. Or you can choose to watch it inside those rooms.
Races are run there on more than just Derby Day. Derby day has many races before, and some following, the Big Race of the day.

I don't think there's anything wrong with watching specials about those with unusual medical problems. I have watched Kenadie with Dwarfism on TLC. I enjoyed the McCaughey multiples update. But I draw the line at an idiotic mother dragging her children on free trips she gets paid for. Specials are one thing. Making the show a lifestyle is another.
As for the Derby, I remember Anna Nicole's show featuring her there. She had such a sad ending.
Of course, the twitter nonsense continues. I agree that TLC told her to tone it down even though she denied it. One girl wants her to speak at her graduation. Poor, deluded teens.

Interestingly enough, Chilli is 4 years older that Kate and looks beautiful as well as classy, whereas Kate has some deep lines on each side of her mouth.

My daughter, who is 3 months younger than the sextuplets, is 3 wks away from finishing 1st grade. It still blows my mind that the younger Gosselins are still in Kindergarten.
I watched the update special on Maliyah and Kendra Herrin last night. They were conjoined, then separated. They are in school now and are each about to get a prosthetic leg.
Maybe it was exploitation, but I have to admit I was completely drawn into their story. When it was over I was thankful I had watched; I offered up a silent prayer that their lives would always be as happy and love-filled as they seemed to be on that special. I hope that in a few years I will find out how they are doing on their legs and that they are involved in the sports of their choice.
Maybe I'm not totally against all reality TV with kids after all. I sure enjoyed last night.

I completely agree with you both. The children are going to be spoiled (if not already). And since their mother doesn't really take time to actually raise them, they can only learn from example and she's not giving them a very example to learn from. Plus with all the VIP treatment they get where ever they go, they will have a warped sense of reality when they grow up.

Not to get too personal, although you all know I always do...I take my son out early from school every Friday. I don't want to, I HAVE to, he has a long standing appt that day at 2 p.m. It's the only slot, & it must be done. It's for his therapy. He HAS to go because this kid has been going though some serious crisis this year, plus he has been diagnosed with ADHD & refuses to take his meds. (That's a whole other argument we don't have to get into) My son is a good boy who has made some bad choices.
Anyway, when he misses that last 50 minutes of school on Friday, we have to make up for it on Monday by him coming in early. He has make-up work he has to get done. His teacher & I decided that was the best course of action, that way he wasn't missing anything. I also explained to my son that just because he gets out early on Fri. does NOT mean that that is OK all the time. Other appts for him are made AFTER school, such as the dentist, doctors, etc, & that when he gets a job later in life, "skipping" work on a Fri, even for an hour, will not be acceptable.
What Kate does/is doing, all the time, pulling her kids out of school is making them think that WORK is above an education. That those kids need to make money over learning. They have a long way to go before they even get to middle school, & the twins, high school. She isn't teaching them how valuable an education really is, when frankly they need that more than anything. They will NOT have cameras in their faces for much longer. They will need to go to college & figure out life skills & such. Kate is not teaching them anything like that at all. ~Hippie Chick~

Who in their right mind wants to see a woman go on vacation and then complain about it? She doesn't even act like she enjoys her trips and perks, she acts like its par for the course. I know that this has been said countless times but I have never seen anyone act so greedy and entitled on tv except for the MTV show "My Super Sweet Sixteen" where spoiled teens are thrown lavish parties. Now it makes sense that her biggest fans are teenaged girls.

The G kids have such little exposure to peer language skills and their mother does not model for them with "say hello and goodbye to Mr. XX man vs. using appropriate and respectful greeting, which should absolutely be stressed to kids. Why Kate's dropping all these hints vs. just saying where they were is odd.

OMG I sure hope not. Horses are a lot harder to care for than dogs and chickens. (but I suppose she could hire a stable boy to do it all for her.) I worried years ago that her and John would try getting one. Those kids should just get riding lessons rather than buy a horse they know nothing about. It is what most horse people recommend for those who are new to horses. I know they could happen to find the perfect kids horse and have no problems but the chances of things going wrong even with a so called "dead broke" horse are still there. My stomach is in knots thinking about it..... (btw I ride and owned horses and still don't consider myself an expert.)
Maybe they aren't zoned for horses even though they have plenty of land for a couple. I hope...

I don't drink, but I have several friends who love that drink. They say it is light, and very, very good. It must be, they expanded the production so fast, yet still couldn't keep up with the demand for awhile.

It's hard to believe that she would spend $4,000 of her own money on the room, plus travel expenses. That was an expensive little mini-vacation for reconnecting. Bet the gymnastics classes wouldn't have cost that much!

I suspect K8 had a "business trip" (paid for by someone else) and it was the three little ones' turn to tag along with mommy, nothing more; doesn't cost much (if anything) to have them in the same room. The fact that it wasn't filmed means it was probably something other than TLC-related. But, who cares? Her even mentioning it reeks of answering to the blogs she says she doesn't even read, so it's rather comical to see how transparent she is (why do transparent people think they are invisible????)

Kate is likely getting all the trips in while she can; I just googled "compulsory school age in Pennsylvania" and school is not compulsory in that state till age 8.
I can see Kate, the honest contract honourer, believing that if school were THAT important, they would make it compulsory at an earlier age.Perhaps she thinks they will all magically catch up when they are 8 years old.

It might not be compulsory until age 8, but once a kid STARTS first grade, it is compulsory. That's this coming school year. She's probably getting in all the doesn't-matter-absences she can now. If she's even aware of it being compulsory once they start first grade, regardless of age in first grade.
In other words, in PA you can wait to put your kid in school until the day they're 8 (though I don't really know why you'd do that), but if they are in school for a single day of first grade, regardless of age, it's compulsory after that.

Yes, and maybe by that time they will know who the President of the United States is. My daughter said the Pledge of Allegiance with her hand over her heart when she was 18 months old. Of course, my husband and I both spent a lot of time reading to her. She also had a dinosaur book memorized page by page and could pronounce the names of all the dinosaurs. Of course, she wasn't reading...it was memorized...but it appeared she was reading the book. It was so cute. I would think that with the "great education" Kate's children are receiving from all their travels that they might know the name of a President other than George Washington...just love how she justifies her non-existent mothering skills. I watched the update special on Maliyah and Kendra Herrin last night. They were conjoined, then separated. They are in school now and are each about to get a prosthetic leg.
Maybe it was exploitation, but I have to admit I was completely drawn into their story. When it was over I was thankful I had watched; I offered up a silent prayer that their lives would always be as happy and love-filled as they seemed to be on that special. I hope that in a few years I will find out how they are doing on their legs and that they are involved in the sports of their choice.
Maybe I'm not totally against all reality TV with kids after all. I sure enjoyed last night.

That reminds me of when she announces to the world that the "The Gosselins have arrived-I hope you survive, Australia" as they left the airport.
My kids and I went to Disney World last February-I only have "4" but we stand out too due to height. My 19 and 14 year old daughters are 6'1", 17 year old son is 6'6" and my 10 year old daughter is not quite as tall as me at 5'10". I get comments all the time because I feel like I am walking among trees-but I would never assume that the place I was visiting would not "survive".
That also makes me wonder how she is going to handle the kids when they are teenagers. Will they be allowed in "Her Kitchen"? when they are hungry? Will they only be fed as a unit? I laugh on the weekends because my kids are constantly in the kitchen-it is non-stop. We eat our basic meals together but with 4 taller than average kids there is always someone that is hungry.

Was that sky jump ending for real? If Kate was that scared, why do it? TLC must have told her to crumple into a hysterical crying mess (for ratings). Those poor little kids were worried about their mommy. This is just wrong!

The Herrin family, on film, took a family vacation to get away for awhile. It may have been a TLC paid trip, I don't know. But the family dynamic was completely different than JK+8 or K+8. It was focused on the kids, but about how normal they are despite their obvious disability of having only one leg each. Each thing they did showed their courage, the complete support they had from both parents, and
the kind, sweet interactions between the twins and their older sister and 2 brothers. It was family at its best, IMO.
I believe if the Gosselin shows had focused on how normal things were for them, how being a 6-pack did not interfere with their upbringing, and they were surrounded by the kind of goodness I saw last night, I would have stuck with the Gosselins. Also, if the Gosselin show
had been periodic updates, that would have been better, I think.
You know, maybe I have an idea for TLC. Go back to all the families they have showcased -
Abby and Brittny Hensel, the Herrin twins,
the Hayes, the Roloffs, the people with their
unusual medical conditions of every kind, the Gosselins, the A's and the B's and the C's and do updates on them. Two a year on each maybe. That would help us know who's doing what, how they're doing, and any remaining curiosity can be satisfied. And nobody gets overloaded by one family or one overbearing mother. Just a thought, TLC. I'd love to know how Mandy Sellers is doing with her leg problems over there in England....

Yep! I can hear it too. Kate's self-entitlement issues will surely pass on to her children. Hopefully though, the kids will watch the shows & see how Kate acts/acted & distinguish between rude, ignorant, mean & egotistical & friendly, nice, self-aware & kind. Maddy & Cara MUST know from being at school that they are like everybody else & are probably treated as such. Kate probably wants them to be treated super-special, but the administration surely treats them as equals amongst their peers. The tups will get the same treatment as everyone else too, I'm sure.
Kate is a headcase. WHY she thinks they should all be treated as special VIPs is beyond me. It's not like they are royalty. They are on an effing reality show. Also, hopefully none of the kids picked up the NPD gene, if that's how it works, I don't know. The only one I see being at all high & mighty is maybe Hannah? I'm not picking on her at all, but from what I read, she seems to be the "golden child" & will stick by Kate to the bitter end, & probably will end up being the liaison between Kate & her other children when they all move on & become independent of her. GOD FORBID! It just saddens me that Kate acts so self-absorbed & narcissistic in front of those kids & is teaching them that it's OK to demand things instead of asking nicely. Or take take take instead of working for them. Those kids are in for some hard life lessons. Thank God Jon is showing them that now & I hope teaching them that as well. Nothing is free baby. Everything comes with a price, & unfortunately, the price was their privacy & well-being.

I can't imagine how Kate is dealing with the ratings.. It's pretty telling that there hasn't been a rag mag article or blurb about her in months either. The only people who care anymore are sheeple and "haterz."
Check out that facebook photo. The other woman has a look on her face that says, "Who are you? Why am I taking a photo with you?"
That woman's face is stiff, a generic look, no warmth (reminds me of the look on Donald Trump and his wife in their photo with Kate...like wth? Who is this woman anyway? And WHY are we taking a photo with her?).
Check out the woman's other photos...a real smile that reaches her eyes, some genuine-ness.

As Kate tweets, I can hear her screeching to anyone around her how she just has to tweet to her "tweeties" because they miss her sooooooooooo much and she can't let them down.
But I will say, she had the girls tucked away in the photo. Can't imagine that was her decision though.
Something just does not smell right about that little trip "out west", squeezed in right before the Kentucky Derby trip. Khate mentioned it was like the EPISODE with the boys last year, they rode horses, etc. Okay, now she's at the Derby.......I think I'm sensing a theme here. Perhaps TLC is filming everything for an episode that features Khate and the little girls on a trip out west, and then Khate at the Kentucky Derby.
I hope against hope that Kate at my beloved Kentucky Derby will not be shown on any TV set in the world. I would never feel that same about the first Saturday in May ever again.
RE: Kate being # 44 in the Pegasus Parade. That's plunk in the middle when people are starting to wear down a bit, but they know there is much more to see. It's about the time they start opening water bottles, get out some
gum or mints, or shift around some. They will have already seen the Governor, some Louisville
VIP's like the Mayor and some local celebrities,
and lots of bands and vehicles. Toward the end the interest picks up again. So Kate is set to
ride just about the time people are looking at their watches. How fitting. It's time, Kate, time to go.
I've been in touch with many of my Louisville friends in recent days - many never left the city like I did - and they have no idea who Kate Gosselin is or why she's in the Pegasus Parade. She has not made too much impact on my hometown, I'm glad to say. She won't be a blip on anybody's radar there.

I'm sorry, but I'm missing the joke about the Facebook picture. It's no hotel. It's Churchill Downs.
Vicki and Kate are standing on the balcony just outside the area called "millionaire's row". It is a dining/lounge room utilized by corporations to entertain their guests during Derby Day and other events at Churchill Downs.
On this day, a non-Derby day, it would be
filled with "lesser folks" (?!) that are there on their company's dime, not the big wigs who are there to wine and dine their prospective business contacts. Taking clients to the Derby
or just to Churchill Downs is a very common thing for companies to do.
I have been in the "expensive seats" many times at Churchill Downs because I was there by invitation of a friend whose father's company
owned a booth. We had full access to the dining room and balcony Kate was in for that photo. It's not as wonderful as you might think. It's no royal palace in there, just a very comfortable place to gather, have a drink, and wait for the next horse event to take place.
Or you can choose to watch it inside those rooms.
Races are run there on more than just Derby Day.
Derby day has many races before, and some following, the Big Race of the day.

I don't think there's anything wrong with watching specials about those with unusual medical problems. I have watched Kenadie with Dwarfism on TLC. I enjoyed the McCaughey multiples update. But I draw the line at an idiotic mother dragging her children on free trips she gets paid for. Specials are one thing. Making the show a lifestyle is another.
As for the Derby, I remember Anna Nicole's show featuring her there. She had such a sad ending.
Of course, the twitter nonsense continues. I agree that TLC told her to tone it down even though she denied it. One girl wants her to speak at her graduation. Poor, deluded teens.

Why does Kate look constipated in the first picture? Why is "Chilli" wearing an outfit very similar to Katie Irene's? Chilli looks better in her outfit, for sure. Interestingly enough, Chilli is 4 years older that Kate and looks beautiful as well as classy, whereas Kate has some deep lines on each side of her mouth.

I found this site maybe 5 days ago and WOW! It's a blast. I love Admin's recaps and blogger's postings, You are all hilarious and have to admit l peed my pants laughing at comments, and cried at others. I first went to the blogs of 2009 and came to 2011. I love the respect and compassion you show to each other and the concern for the Gosselin kids. I share that concern with all of you. Remember, no good deed goes unpunished and we may never know what will happen to those kids once that monstermom loses the show, money and boodguard etc., Some will be ok some will not. All we can do is to send good thoughts and prayers and hope.

My daughter, who is 3 months younger than the sextuplets, is 3 wks away from finishing 1st grade. It still blows my mind that the younger Gosselins are still in Kindergarten.
I watched the update special on Maliyah and Kendra Herrin last night. They were conjoined, then separated. They are in school now and are each about to get a prosthetic leg.
Maybe it was exploitation, but I have to admit I was completely drawn into their story. When it was over I was thankful I had watched; I offered up a silent prayer that their lives would always be as happy and love-filled as they seemed to be on that special. I hope that in a few years I will find out how they are doing on their legs and that they are involved in the sports of their choice.
Maybe I'm not totally against all reality TV with kids after all. I sure enjoyed last night.

Her kids are spoiled and I'm not sure if we'll all be gathering on this lovely blog in several years, but I'm going to call it now-- some of her kids will not pursue higher education in favor of reality tv. Their names will mean big money as the grow up.

I completely agree with you both. The children are going to be spoiled (if not already). And since their mother doesn't really take time to actually raise them, they can only learn from example and she's not giving them a very example to learn from. Plus with all the VIP treatment they get where ever they go, they will have a warped sense of reality when they grow up.

I think there are rare situations where it's justified to pull a kid out of school. But pulling them out this much? I can't imagine how the kids can possibly value the importance of school at this point.
Will these kids grow up and be that co-worker who always happens to call in sick on a Friday? Or who shows up late? Or not at all?

You make a valid point. Not to get too personal, although you all know I always do...I take my son out early from school every Friday. I don't want to, I HAVE to, he has a long standing appt that day at 2 p.m. It's the only slot, & it must be done. It's for his therapy. He HAS to go because this kid has been going though some serious crisis this year, plus he has been diagnosed with ADHD & refuses to take his meds. (That's a whole other argument we don't have to get into) My son is a good boy who has made some bad choices.
Anyway, when he misses that last 50 minutes of school on Friday, we have to make up for it on Monday by him coming in early. He has make-up work he has to get done. His teacher & I decided that was the best course of action, that way he wasn't missing anything. I also explained to my son that just because he gets out early on Fri. does NOT mean that that is OK all the time. Other appts for him are made AFTER school, such as the dentist, doctors, etc, & that when he gets a job later in life, "skipping" work on a Fri, even for an hour, will not be acceptable.
What Kate does/is doing, all the time, pulling her kids out of school is making them think that WORK is above an education. That those kids need to make money over learning. They have a long way to go before they even get to middle school, & the twins, high school. She isn't teaching them how valuable an education really is, when frankly they need that more than anything. They will NOT have cameras in their faces for much longer. They will need to go to college & figure out life skills & such. Kate is not teaching them anything like that at all.

I haven't posted on here in a long time but I feel compelled to with the recent news of low ratings. The writing is on the wall for Kate. Her ugly actions are finally catching up with her. I'm guessing she lost a lot of viewers with this episode because of the sky jump incident. Thank you for posting a link Admin, I hadn't seen it yet.
Who in their right mind wants to see a woman go on vacation and then complain about it? She doesn't even act like she enjoys her trips and perks, she acts like its par for the course. I know that this has been said countless times but I have never seen anyone act so greedy and entitled on tv except for the MTV show "My Super Sweet Sixteen" where spoiled teens are thrown lavish parties. Now it makes sense that her biggest fans are teenaged girls.

I wonder if that getaway with the 3 girls was originally a Kate Plus 8 planned episode, and since the booking was already done, they let her go alone and decided to forgo the expense of bringing all the crew over and filming it since the show is tanking in the ratings.
And seriously, who pulls their kids out of school for a mini vacation in the Western Plains? Oh yeah, I forgot. Kate does.
That one trip alone would have paid for recreational gymnastics for the year for the children.

I had cousins- a family of 6 who were close in age. They had their own lingo and accent (weird, they sounded like they came from the slums tho they lived in a beautiful burb). Their accents diminished as they grew older and spread out apart from each other. The G kids have such little exposure to peer language skills and their mother does not model for them with "say hello and goodbye to Mr. XX man vs. using appropriate and respectful greeting, which should absolutely be stressed to kids.
Why Kate's dropping all these hints vs. just saying where they were is odd.

Am I the only one creeped out by the fact that Kate said "the experience the boys had in an EPISODE?" Is their lives measured in episodes? How weird is it? Why not say experience the boys had back in 09 when we went in Wyoming? Reminds me of the time when the kids said they have the episode to remember the pumpkin patch I think?( I think Admin said that in one of her recaps)

Riding horses in the wild west, Kentucky Derby... Is anyone else thinking there will be a horse at the compound in a future episode? Remember when Jon and Kate did a little house hunting in a episode and they looked at a ranch house with a functioning horse farm? And of course she currently has the space and the barn...

I think the reason someone said they filmed it is because she IS dropping hints. She said something like HINT, it was similar to the dude ranch episode but not exactly the same.
Hint? Why are we dropping hints? If it's not an episode, why not just out with what they did? They aren't there anymore so the kids aren't put at risk by saying where they went. And if she doesn't want to talk about it, then stop talking about it! But this coy cat and mouse playing games is very annoying. Narcissists get off on playing games though. I'll tell you my secret.....but not right now! Ugh.
If this turns out to be an episode, this will be one of Kate's biggest lies yet. She was very clear this was not filmed and she likes to take the kids on unfilmed trips every year.
