Wasn't JOn's comment (take the stick out) made at the other house before the mine-all-mine mansion, on the driveway while they were hanging around with the kids playing, Jon working and kart's lazy ass was parked on her white plastic throne/lawn chair?
Could be wrong, but that's what is coming to me now. I can't remember her reaction to his comment.

I remember Jon saying," so when are you gonna take the stick out, Kate?" and she said, "Please don't say that. That's not nice," and Jon apologized right away. Kate, honey? You say a LOT of things worse than that, and you NEVER apologize.
Also, regarding Steve and the pizza. Someone mentioned earlier that he looked kind of beaten down, same as Jon had been. I don't blame him, however, I always thought of him as the type who wouldn't take her crap. Remember when they were with Brad on the SkyWalk thing, and Steve sternly told her, "Hurry up! You're procrastinating!"

No Kate, we didn't see you stifling a smile. If it was only and act and if you are that good an actress that you can make everyone believe that you are such a horrid, vile creature you deserve the academy award and I will be the first to say bravo Kate! Unfortunately for everyone involved you're not a great actress and you really are a horrid, vile creature.
I believe that in her mind she has not had a posh vacation because she once said "it's not a vacation if you're working" (or words to that effect). I would love to have a "not a vacation" in Australia, Bald Head Island, Hawaii or any number of the places you've been!
As for not being waterish, I guess she's forgotten how much she proclaimed her love of all things water while in Australia. She loved boating and fishing and said that she could do it all day. She also loved scuba diving when she "caught" their dinner.
One last thing Kate, I recently went TDY and OMG forgot my underwear. What to do, what to do? Well here's a novel concept...I went to the store and bought some.

Because as I recap this, she does the same thing for the entire episode.

This tweet is from a woman who routinely tweets her fan base every 30 seconds. She admits it, she's spread thin. Why in the world would you join twitter then, r if you must, why can't she just tweet once or twice a day and spend the rest of her time with her dang children?
Also, I remember in their old house (before the mansion) that Kate always seemed to have Jon on some sort of diet. I never understood that; he didn't seem overweight to me. I never got how Jon always to be on one whereas Kate never was. Jon had to exercise and Kate didn't. Oh, that's right. She had a free tummy tuck.
I do remember one episode where Jon wanted a donut, and Kate said something like, "No, you're on a diet." And remember the episode where twins are mommy for a day and at lunchtime one of the tups says something like, "I only have 9 chips" or something? WHAT in the world is her deal with food? Is it just another area in life she feels she can control, or is it something bigger?
TLC ship is sinking said... Was Jamie's comment about Steve, "It's all about him, isn't it?" from the internet clip of the pizza argument included in the actual airing?
Someone on another Gosselin blog made a comment that the internet clip showed more than the episode, so was it edited out?

Yes, it was edited out on tv.
Those two are TOTALLY in a relationship. They cmpletely were acting like a married couple.

She sounds exactly like that, doesn't she? However, she claims to be a former art teacher and author who wants to have her works published. I think she has three kids and lives very near to Kate, which is not a good thing. It's the "worming" that bothers me...trying to get into Kate's life by kissing her front and her back.
It's better than a soap opera!

So I watched the show and went from being sick to the stomach to ANGRY!
Who acts like that toward their own chldren, friends, nanny, "body guard", crew, etc. Even for Kate this was a whole new low.
My real hope is that Jon takes the well documented nightmare that has been these kids' lives curtosy of TLC to a PA court and gives them the life they deserve.
No big fancy house, or trip via van or jet, or amount of quick cash earned for a pic or appearance is worth what we all have witnessed.
No idea what the final show will be all about- but regardless, we ALL know the truth. They can choose to paint it whatever color they want, but it is perfectly black and white!
Can you imagine Jon sitting home watching this nightmare unfold before his eyes?

When I watched the show, I saw the same scene, but didn't hear Ashley make the comment. Does anyone else recall this from the preview?

It's control and I think it is also the area in her life she expects adulation. Twice in the RV episodes, that I remember, she was fishing for compliments on her cooking.
The first was in the episode 1, when she cooked the organic chicken on the open flame. She bellows "Who loves the chicken?" and later lets us know "this is the best meal we had all week, we decided." Well of course you did Kate - was there any other answer anyone could have given?
The second time I noticed was in the 2nd episode - she was making pancakes on the campfire and she bellowed to everyone "I haven't heard from anyone how they like the pancakes!"
Sheesh woman - they're flippin' pancakes! Probably made from a package where you just had to add water - maybe a dash of vanilla! Wouldn't most moms simply shout out - did everybody get enough?! Is there anybody still hungry?!
She needs constant adulation on everything she does - even when it is unremarkable. And if no one thinks of praising her for her mediocrity, she'll gladly prompt them to do so.
So I think she not only uses food for control but also as her (in her own mind) area of expertise. It's her way of validating herself.

It seems like it is also wrong for Kate to reprimand the childrens' nanny in front of the children.

Yes, it was in the preview but apparently TLC edited it out for the episode. The preview was discussed on this blog and most of the posters had an "ahha!" moment when Ashley said that. The discussion is in the previous thread, I think.
I'm also watching to see how the cereal thing plays out. It's like a mini-soap opera.
Kate broke a cardinal rule in dealing with people. When someone asks you two or three or four times and you don't respond, don't suddenly respond on the 15th begging request! 'Cause that is exactly what happened. Brownie kept tweeting Kate and then made a joke that she was tweeting her every few minutes about the cereal--which she was indeed doing. WHY WOULD KATE EVER RESPOND AFTER ALL THAT NAGGING? NEVER DO THAT! * WARNING, WILL ROBINSON! WARNING! *
So like a bratty kid, Brownie learned that nagging pays. She'll never let Kate alone now that she's figured this out. And since Brownie bought the cereal, she (in her mind) clinched the face-to-face with Kate.
Kate promised her she'd DM her "early in the week". Um, that would be today. Brownie's workshop buddy has told Brownie she was going to the meeting, too. Now the buddy and Brownie have been strategizing locations where they can have coffee or lunch with Kate.
I'll be shocked if Kate comes through and goes to meet the pair. I predict (1) Kate will tell her to drop it at the gate, (2) Kate will send someone else, or (3) Kate's going to wait until Brownie comes up with the idea of shipping it to her. *DING DING DING* We have a winner!
If by any wild chance Kate does go, no way is she gonna have lunch or coffee. I don't think she even expects to repay Brownie. I think Kate only caved on Tweet #15 because Brownie said the magic words, "I'll buy it for you."
I also predict the tweet nagging will go full force tomorrow. It works, right?

ADMIN, I think I know where you are going with this, but donchknow it's OK for Kate to do it because she gave birth twice and has stress. She is entitled to every evil thing in this dimension because SHE gave birth twice and has stress. The rules of society and normal human decency dont apply to her coz she is so very special.
I dont know how you recap this without vomiting. After perusing this thread this afternoon I actually felt ill for a little while thinking of the terror those little kids live with and nutcases who pay money to gawk at it and egg That Woman on with their sick praises.

I think KrazyKate flipped out because Steve would not act like selfless Jon and cook her chicken so she could have her carb free meals....wrecked her plans...and since she can't take it out on Steve....she took her anger out on the other help and her kids....bitch.

Ashley didn't make the comment, Jaime did. And of course it's always about Steve where Kate is concerned. Steve is her knight in shining armor who protects her from the crazy sheeple fans that want to take her picture without permission...oh, wait.
Seriously, he makes all her problems go away. He's her handler. Of course she's in love with him.
However, I really didn't get the impression that he was all that in to her. I think Steve is just as fed up with her as everyone else, however he's paid to keep her calm and to keep the cameras rolling.
If her were hanging around, I don't think he would have replied "Ask me in 6 months" when asked if he'd travel with the family/friends again. I think he knew the show was ending and he's looking forward to a six month reprieve until TLC decides to film Christmas Vacation in December/January.
Have we figured it out by now? God forbid when someone does something Kate thinks is inappropriate or unacceptable to her in front of her children, yet second Kate does something the rest of humanity would deem unfit to be seen or heard of in front of kids Kate finds it completely acceptable? It's complete Kate-logic but will never be by the book.
I happen to have a saying, Only a child can humble even the tallest of statue. Only in this case I see Kate trying to make sure her kids are humble towards her constantly. I use this saying now from way back in the day of the 1990s one of my daughter's went over to this patient where I worked, he was not the nicest of folks, kind of like Kate, snappy and demanding just because he could be. My daughter gave him her juice box when he said he was thirsty and for some strange reason it humbled this giant of a statue to smile and feel things wouldn't be so bad after all maybe.

On the topic of Steve and Kate.....if they aren't a couple they have become very, very close and I don't know how any wife could take that even if it were her husbands job. Kate is obviously very dependent on Steve and they bicker back and forth like husband and wife. Someone earlier said they found it uncomfortable when Kate told Steve to go into the RV so they could talk privately away from the cameras. I agree. There is more to that relationship than employer/employee and if it's not an affair as Steve's wife I would still be very worried about it.

hehe, you add a healthy drizzle of water, put the cap back on then shake it. The shaking it is just 'exhausting'! (I did use them a few times years ago but I stopped because it was too pricey to use for 4 count em 4 kids. And I hated just tossing out those cute little plastic containers it comes in.)

I don't think Kate and Steve are a couple. While she looks (literally looks!) to him for guidance on everything, he seems to be stuffing down contempt for her, in my opinion. It's a job. But.....we shall see if that's the big reveal in a week! She obviously cares about him, and he is the only one she will obey (make a decision, hurry up, sit down, etc.). I think if she really had him, she'd cease all that obeying-ish behavior and real quick too! She'd try to gain the upper hand ASAP. But she definitely abdicates to him most of the time. He has taken her to task several times and she may have whimpered, but she did what he said. She never did that with Jon.

After having to interview the Kart last year while filling in on Regis and Kelly, Anderson has probably been waiting for the perfect opportunity to stick it to her good. What a pathetic, ludicrous display that interiew was (on Khate's part). Anderson Cooper, a well respected journalist who has been reporting from the frontlines of every war for the last 20 years, forced to question a orangey colored bimbo from a reality show about her custody matters. The worst part of the whole thing is that she only appeared on the show to trash Jon. She had nothing going on, no new shows. She was there only to do damage control after the video surfaced of the kids screaming their lungs out when Jon was bringing them back to the konpound. Poor Anderson had a WTF look on his face the entire time.
I think Kate would define "having him" as marriage and a very strong prenup in her favor. Once she got that ring on her finger she'd turn on him in a heartbeat because he was no longer unobtainable and she would expect him to do her bidding.
TLC stinks:I say that cause, reading her, tweets, she is too calm, not depressed, or angry at TLC for cancelation. The fact she has not gone to the media, crying about being canceled, like she did about the divorce, Jon, not wanting the kids on TV, having no money to pay bills, or to brag/whine about something. She has not done that. Most people when they lose a job, either, make a big thing about it, like Susan Lucci just did and others, or you get depressed and quiet, say very little. Course, there are those who are happy to lose a job, especially if they hated their job. Or possibly, with Kate, who may have another gig in the bag, and are not worrying about a job. For a person, that some of us choose to watch, recently, Kate flys off the handle, very easily, for her not to seek the media to complain this time is very strange. The media wrote about her, but did not interview her.(YET!) Susan Lucci, let ABC know she was not happy about the soap being canceled, the people being put out of work, herself included, and that, the one guy was tryin to save his own but, by claiming cost cutting and saving ABC money, and saving his own job. I know the soap is a 100% better show on TV than a reality show. That girl on LA ink made some noise. I don't hear Kate making a big noise. And we all know she can, she did it, when Jon got the kids off Tv, for a while, and the above mentioned. Read her tweets, right around, when she was canceled, and after she admit, the show was canceled. She was very calm, almost, like not acknowledging it, but taking it as a grain of salt and saying several times, I will move on. Most people I know are not that calm, losing a job. Just my opinion.
Admin, I have a question for ya. I totally see your point about the video footage not being helpful to Jon in court, that kate's lawyer will say it was scripted or edited or contrived, she was playing a role to make money.
But what of the film of the children? Would even a money-oriented judge feel it was ok for little kids to sob, be afraid, and exhibit all the other terrors that have been filmed? Surely no weight could be given to statements that the kids were acting?
In a fantasy court case such as this, could a judge invalidate confidentiality agreements in order to determine the extent of the harm that has been done to such small children and what they have been exposed to?
I know that any replies you give would just be in general, not specific in any way to the Gosselin children.
Dr Glass wrote about that 'interview' too. She said something to the effect that Anderson and Kelly weren't buying what kart was selling.

I agree. On her first book tour days, when Kate all of a sudden went from dowdy to Fredrick's of Hollywood lite,(with a new good bra) I really thought there was something going on between them. Somewhere, at some point, the fee of $1,000 a day was tossed around as Steve's salary. Who knows? But after spending a considerable amount of time with her for the last at least 2 1/2 yrs. he has GOT to have full appreciation of the host of mental illnesses she suffers from. And- her refusal to acknowlege ANY of them. I absolutely think he is taking the money and running, as fast as he can. I would also believe he probably negotiated more $$$ from TLC for combat pay as her behavior has deteriorated.

If you don't have mail set up on your actual computer, such as you only use gmail online, wave your mouse over "email us" and in the bottom lefthand corner of your screen, you should see my address pop up.

Laurie, I think you're spot on. Kate behaves as if TLC has muzzled her and those retweets of hers reek of anger. I sincerely hope that she's not taking out her frustration and anger on her children.

Re: Kate. I'm going to repeat something I mentioned on the last thread. It's a Dr. Phil-ism, but please don't throw darts. I know, I'm not a fan either.
He often says when people are angry all the time and pick fights, they fight over TOPICS. Topics change from hour to hour, day to day and they are convenient things to be angry about. But they mask the underlying ISSUES that are the real cause of the outbursts.
Kate has lots of topics. Let's hope she can discover what her real issues are. She'll have plenty of time to do that now. If only she would.

Adding to your post...Kate did have a similar contract in 2009, which I'm doubtful changed much.

If Kate is really making an appearance on the Today show next Monday, that was most likely TLC approved. Same with the People article supposedly coming out later this week, per Kate's twitter.

Thank you. I totally agree. I know that in every issue there is a lesson. Sometimes I just forget to look for it and get stuck taking the scenic route.

I would have to be an approved appearance as I assume Kate is still under contract with TLC least until 2012. I doubt Kate wants to dip her toes in the lake of breech-of-contract problems like Jon did at the time.
In any case, what would Kate have to talk about on Today Show? How awful her behavior was? That it was supposedly edited? How her children cried over breakfast table? Or how about how she is looking forward to her next opportunity when there appear to not be any known of?

When is Kate going to stop the dieting bull sh**? How thin does she want to be? When one of her twits asked what her favourite food was, she said pizza and brownies. She said she looks forward to eating that once she runs the marathon later on this year. During pizza-gate, she told Steve she didn't eat pizza when he announced they would be having it for dinner. Why is she so militant with her weight? She looks fine to me. Good thing she got the good bra or she would have zero tits right now. But she still can't seem to lose the thunder thighs for some reason.
Today Show appearance? Remember, it was probably taped before the RV episode was shown.
No doubt it will be "oh, Kate, how do you stay so thin? What do you eat?"
"Oh Kate, how is it getting 8 kids off to school in the morning now that they're older?"
"Oh Kate, when do you ever get time for yourself?"
"Oh Kate, you must have a secret for looking so good. Can you share?"
"Oh Kate, I now it's been hard for you, but we here at the Today Show know you'll continue to do very well."
And Kate will 1) smile at the attention

I haven't read all the comments yet, but wanted to mention this before I forget. If someone else has mentioned it already I apologize.
I just noticed that 3 hours ago Kate tweeted that she was getting a massage and SHE would fall asleep during the massage so she was saying good night to her tweeties.
It's 1:15 am here now and I am in the same time zone as Kate. That means she tweeted that at 10:15pm. So her 10 year olds were starting her massage after 10pm on a school night.
Don't these kids have to get up at like 5am? So on top of staying up late to give their lazy bitch of a mother a massage, they then have to put themselves to bed because their mother will, herself, already be asleep?
Who is making sure they actually go to bed right after Kate falls asleep? If that was me, I would have stayed up all night reading a book and been unable to get up for school the next morning.
It was bad enough when the kids were giving her massages during the summer, but during the school year when they have to get up so early in the morning, I don't think it's too much to expect Kate to be the adult in the household and put the kids to bed and then go to bed herself.

She'd still have boobs, but they would be down around her waist. Kate is from Germanic stock - typical PA Dutch/Lancaster County genes. All of the weight is from the waist (in her case, no waist) south. She can diet until the cows come home, and she's not going to lose weight in the thighs. The first place the weight goes is in the face. Kate has a long, narrow face, and it's getting thinner and more drawn looking with each pound that she loses.
She's cursed with these genes. Nothing she can do about it.
When she had the tummy tuck, l'm sure l remember her having lipo in the waist area at the same time. She could have lipo again for the thighs.
