Since Kate doesn't watch the news or pick up a newspaper (unless on vacation), we might do better to ask her where she was on Sept 12 or 13th when she finally heard about it.
@friend in Pennsylvania I hear you and although the manufacturer recommends premium gas, it's gas none the less so when the price goes over 4 dollars per gallon, regular looks pretty damned good. On a newer model, most people don't have to worry about the maintenance costs however if you plan to keep it as I did with a previous model A8 it does add up.
I like the Audi and am on my second one and stick by the manufacturer recommendations. Biggest maintenance issue with the Audi's are the timing belts, wheel bearings and the turbo if the car is equipped with one. The other problem with these cars is the dashboard LCD screen that gives you warning signs and maintenance reminders. An Audi is nothing more than a glorified VW for twice the price.
I stick with the premium fuel, synthetic oil, regular maintenance and hope for the best. Would I do it again? probably not but then again, I'm not a father of 8 kids and my car is a 5 passenger. Would I recommend this car to someone else, maybe. It's a totally balanced vehicle that handles well, looks good and is better engineered than any American car I have ever owned.
If Kate wants one she should have one. I just think that the timing was wrong and the image it projects doesn't coincide with the "Brand" she's been trying to sell all these years. She's put herself out there as "America's Mom". The last thing most MOMS drive are Audi TT's.

There is a lot more wrong here than the "timing". Kate didn't buy that car -- her children did. The only effort she put into acquiring it involved lying and pimping.
I couldn't disagree more that if Kate wants one she should have one.
No, Kate needs to fund her children's college accounts fully. Kate needs to set up a trust to make sure they have money beyond that as well for six years of work. Kate also needs to enroll the kids in gymnastics and sports and summer camp and everything else well-rounded kids do. These are all things she has at one point claimed she hasn't done yet.
Then and only then might she consider taking a little bit of her Dancing With the Stars money and buying herself a toy.
Okay, this is funny....my son came home from work at Costco today...no copies of People sold yesterday, but ONE woman came in and bought 6 copies, and was blabbing about how it was the least she could do to show support for Kate, and how all the "friends of Kate" turn every TV in their house to her show on Mondays to help her ratings. Oh, Lord...like my 19-year-old son wants to hear a load of crap about Kate. I don't get it...why do these people feel the need to "help" her? Can't she make it on her own if she is such a big star to them? And the thing about turning every TV in the house to her show--would that even work? I posed a question last night to her twitter fans as to who buys 2 vehicles in one fell swoop on the same day and the only response was from Iwana. Come to find out he bought 2 vehicles on the same day back in the 1990's and they were used.
No one goes out and buys 2 cars on the same day for family use and personal use. Evidently at the time, Kate thought the money was going to continue to flow and she said "WTF". Her problem now, not ours. Not a rational decision that most normal people would make but she made the decision for whatever reason.
The pathetic picture is that Kate's now been photgraphed in that ridiculous 2 seater three times in the past two days. She looks like a fool. We all agree that the kids worked to pay for that car and she looks even more ridiculous driving it. As I said, if Kate wants it, she should get it. You and I both agree it was stupid. Let her hang herself. I'd love to have a BMW 750LI. If I could afford it, earned it, can meet my other obligations, I'd probably do it. I can't. Kate makes so much more than I do and most of us do on the contract she has with TLC. She sees it as being her money. We don't. I hope she enjoys the thrill of the car and we all know who paid for it but nothing we can do or say that will change it.

Something's really been bothering me about the twins. I know a lot of people were saying that Jamie and Ashley shouldn't have been talking about Kate in front of them, and maybe that's true, but think about when Mady and Cara got sent back to the RV before they went to that "waste of space", the Grand Canyon. They were both pretty hysterical.. I suspect that happens a lot, and when they went into that RV with Ashley, I'm sure it didn't just turn into sunshine and rainbows immediately, although Ashley does seem like a ray of sunshine to me... I bet those girls confide in Ashley a lot when subjected to their mom's tirades. Cara didn't seem in the least upset by them talking, either, so I'm not sure their behavior was too outrageous.
I know I'll never be famous in this world, and I truly have absolutely no desire to be, but I do want to be important to my children. I want them to respect and take what they learned from me and think it's important enough to pass on to their children. I've already experienced a lot of appreciation of how I raised them now that some are all the way grown.
It just makes me feel so sad for the Gosselin children that their mom has literally become a national joke. Children are awfully perceptive, and I know they realize in their own way that they have been sold out by their own mom. It's just pitiful. They won't even have to read blog archives or tabloids when they're older. They already know. I don't think I've ever witnessed a more selfish mom.
When Kate was first canceled she was frantic with worry. She renewed her nursing license, she worried about how she was going to make it. I think she was scared. But then she calmed down dramatically, and tweeted that she planned to stay on television as long as she could. I thought she had signed a new show of some sort. I couldn’t believe anyone would be foolish enough to sign her but she certainly seemed not fearful all of a sudden. Then it occurred to me that she probably came in for a pretty sweet severance package. It could have run to the seven figures. Even mid seven figures would not be out of the realm of possibility. So I think she is calmer only because she has breathing room now. I don't think she has anything lined up. (Really, is any producer THAT stupid?)

A sports car, regardless if it's a convertible or not, is not a practical purchase after admitting her kids are worried whether they'll continue to live in the same house or go to the same school. Even if she bought it six months ago. If she's telling People magazine that she has money saved that will last "for a little while", then the sports car is one of the first purchases that needs to go back.
What is Kate's definition for "a little while"? Some American families have unemployed parents for over a year, if not two, so it would be wise for her to cut back now and save every cent she has while she can. That's why I can't cut her some slack, knowing that their current lifestyle is financially draining them. If she's so adamant about staying in McMansion and keeping the kids in private school, then she needs to stop with her extraneous purchases like said sports car. If she splurged for this, who knows what else she has splurged on as well.
Her frustrations with those pap photos is that she got caught with her hand in the cookie jar, making her look bad right after that People article was released. Kate's looking for public sympathy & freebies and those pics don't help...at all.
Lake Up North, Kate mentioned to People that the kids have college funds established but nothing was mentioned if they were fully funded.
So the Audi isn't a convertible? Why go on about a sports car convertible yet not get one? Hmmm...part of me wonders if the dealer duped her into getting this car. Maybe it's a lemon they wanted to get off their hands, so she got a good deal on it. It wouldn't surprise me if she just believes what the dealer says and doesn't do any homework on used cars.
@lake up north Everything you say is dead on. Tacky is as tacky does. I've been way too vocal about Kate and how she exploits her kids for way too many years. I've hung on to the "tacky" and have have made way too many snide and snarky comments as to her behavior. My intention wasn't to destroy Kate. My mindset was the hurt and harm she was doing to her kids.
I didn't want to witness that and say nothing, sit back and encourage it. I'm just one voice in a big world that matters to no one other than my kids, my siblings and my S/O.
At times I took my animus to degrees that many thought were "out there" "innappropriate" and "offbase". Was I wrong? NO. I was totally against the use of these kids to further a parent who is living off the backs of innocent kids. Was I right? NO. I didn't witness or live the experience of the family going through this travesty.
Would I do it again? YES! Absolutely. I hated the fact that 8 kids were being used to further the goals and aspirations of a totally out of touch mother who sought fame and fortune on the notoriety of being the breeder of 6 tups and a set of twins.
What have I learned from this? I've learned that no matter what I say or share, there is always opposing opinions and nothing I have shared or posted over these past years has changed Kate or the kids situation. I'm better off, reading the thoughts from all of those I've met over these years who felt the same as I. I'm baffled by the responses by fans who didn't agree with my stance.
What is more telling is that I'm in awe at the media that has for years givin Kate a pass and never asked the cold hard questions. After Monday , my personal goal, to get the kids off TV will be settled. I didn't accomplish that goal on my own. It took blogs like this, tweets, and blogs all over the net to voice our disgust at this travesty.
Finally the show comes to an end. As much as I felt like a voice for the kids, I too, now feel sorry for Kate. Really do. I see a broken woman without friends, family and a support network to pull her back into reality. At one point I saw in Kate a kind and sweet person when she surprised Jon with his trip to Florida, years ago. She came off as a good person and fun. Despite the years of her Diva personality that she's taken to the max, I still see some good in her that may surface when she gets her priorities in place.
I hope she does. None of us are perfect and given a TV camera crew and a chance to make money, we'd either opt for one or the other. Unfortunately for Kate, she got both opportunities at the same time, a mother from Central PA who would have never been known to the world had she not had a litter.
Wish her well after Monday and hope and pray the kids come through this with little scars, big smiles, huge dreams and a way to filter the years of being in a fish bowl and can filter the comments as they get older.

I don't know much about Twitter, so I'm not too sure what happened here, but personally, I don't think it's the same person. The first one was very childish and naive; this one is bold and brash.
Someone upthread pointed out about BIGFAN has not been sounding or typing the same. NOTE:This is not the same account! The "original" username was "BigFanofKateG" and has not tweeted since Spet 6th. She actually deleted her account that day after Kate blocked her. Then she re-opened her account a few days later but has not tweeted from it. The account that is showing up in Kates comments on Twitter is username "BigFanOfK8", with same picture. The typing style, punctuation, etc is not the same as the original user. It's most likely one of the vile tweeters that copied her picture and opened a spoof account. Kate blocked the new account, but it took her quite awhile before she blocked. So reading these tweets from the new BigFan is most likely that you're reading a tweet from one of the regulars in disguise.
You must remember that Kate will never allow anyone, not anyone, to tell her what she can or can't do or what would be the right thing to do in a particular situation. Anyone who has tried has been banished to the nether regions never to be recognized again. She is so arrogant, high strung, bitchy, cruel, stupid, and there has never in the history of the world been more controlling than her. She looks so foolish tooling around in her sports car and crying poor at the same time -- but by golly she doesn't back down to anyone or anything.

This is what I don't understand.
Her time line on this car is a bit confusing because she says she bought it in April, but she keeps saying 6 months ago. In my reality, 6 months ago was actually March.
However, going with the April statement because I think she's stupid and just doesn't realize that April was only 5 months ago (I also think saying 6 months sounds better to her and she figures people won't bother doing the math), I did a little sleuthing..yeah I'm bored.
Twitter only keeps your last 3200 tweets and since she twats like a manic chipmunk on crack, there was no way I could look at her actual feed that far back, I had to do a lot of googling and searching this blog to find the info I did find.

The infamous gymnastics are too expensive tweet was on April 20.
I'm not sure how she thinks the timing of these pictures makes her look bad. The fact that she has done this AT ALL makes her look bad.
By her own admission, no matter how you cut it, within days of purchasing this car, she said that she couldn't afford gymnastics for the kids.
I wish there was a way to get this kind of information to people in the media that would actually REPORT it and stop letting her cry poor.
Most importantly, I wish that someone (authorities) would step in and stop her from committing fraud because her followers are too stupid to be saved from themselves.
I guess there is something to be said for letting them dig their own graves, but honestly when the media lets her cry poor it gives validity to her claims people who do not have good critical thinking skills need to be saved from that kind of thing, IMO.

Did Kate also say that space was an issue at Hershey Park? LOL! I seem to remember that the reason was because of the expense, but it was figured out that if they used coupons and did the sunset plan, eleven of them could have gone for under $250.00. Less than the cost of one pair of her shoes.

I do recall when EmeraldCity was spoofed by EmeraldShity, her and HGray tweeted they were reporting it and the next day "shity" was no longer a user. Whether they scared the spoofer off of twitter or if their reporting worked, I don't know? That's all I have seen in regards to spoofs getting banned.

The "remember the girls night out" was the night the girls said it was time for Iwanna to show his picture. Yes, that's what I see too. Then Kate and Iwanna disappeared into the night in probably an all night drunken direct message festival. Iwanna was tweeting the other night when the car issue came up on Twitter and mentioned something about that "maybe" Kate bought the car back in the spring when she got word that the show would have 2 seasons this year? Kate broke the silence just minutes after Iwanna tweeted and confirmed that she bought the car and it was back in April. It was almost like Kate was lurking and saw Iwannas tweet and panicked and then broke the silence? Was she fearing he would spill the beans? Or were her and Iwanna chatting together and he said he would make a lead-in tweet so she could tell all before it got out of control? I'm wondering if Iwanna knows more than he leads on? Something has been strange between those two all summer and why he is still there almost every day when Kates other "love interests" all last about a week then disappear?

I agree with Kelly. I may not like some of the things he says on twitter, but I believe his tweets have done more overall than any of the comments on this blog have ever done. The recaps are hilariously entertaining, but the ensuing comments are just rehashing. The same things gets said over and over for hundreds and hundreds of posts. I think direct contact with Kate and the fans gets under her skin far more than the blogs do, because instead of hundreds of posts that all say the same thing on various separate sites, they have short tweets right on their twitter.

I couldn't find the twitter response, but Kate has been asked where she was on 9/11. I don't remember the exact details, but she said the twins were babies, and they rushed home. Maybe the Pennsylvania tragedy made her more aware.

I'm passionate about my feelings about children and animals and have incorporated my not so P.C. comments on both twitter and this and many blogs. I won't apologize about my comments on any of the blogs or twitter. I say it from the heart. What I will apologize for is taking such a hard stance and making the ADMIN on this blog part of my argument.
I was wrong with that stance and totally out of line. What I won't apologize for is my passion for taking a position against exploitation. After Tuesday, none of us have to worry about it, hopefully. Agreed, some of my posts on twitter were out of line but I apologize to no one and stand by each and every one of them.

The way I see it, this new sports car has a lot to do with Kate's obsession to keep up with Beth. If you remember, Beth had a Porche convertible 2-seater when she was still on the show. Thinking back, Kate has purchased everything just like Beth had including this sports car, home with acreage and pool, etc. She coveted what Beth and Bob had and it became obvious. It's impossible to remain friends with someone who is jealous of you as Kate appeared to be of Beth. Sad, really.

Your point may be correct about Casey being a relative and Kate silencing them. Others speculate it was Kate herself trying to "praise" and keep relevance and be able to tear into haters. Who knows? I noticed again this was another one that Iwanna called out, then Kate came out of nowhere and said "I have to jump in here".

"I would like to take this opportunity to make a public apology to someone who I sparred with on the twitter page. As I have read from a few previous posts, some of my tweets were pushing the envelope and over the edge. I'm passionate in what I believe in but yes, sometimes, the line between passion and being an idiot is a very fine line.
I crossed that line several times but this time, I crossed it in a way that was wrong, not informed and shooting from the hip. There was someone on Kates Twitter account that responded to my snark and I responded back with more snark. I continued to call this person out and we both went back and forth in a childish way.
This person actually stopped responding to my taunts and acted like the adult, yet I continued to act like a total ass and continued to wax bravado. Truth is, this person is the one who showed the class and bravado and today I found out that this person is a true hero, a member of the military and ready to deploy once again.
He is well known if you google his name and he's a warrior, a hero and someone with a story to tell, yet, his story was being quashed by the powers that be, just because he wanted to excercise his right to free speech.

If you do some searching this has been known, but I think it really came out during the Casey Anthony trial a lot more.
Magazines and TV stations/programs often do not pay for INTERVIEWS, but they do pay for the PHOTOGRAPHS and/or VIDEO that they run with those interviews.
That is why there is often a big scramble to get the first pics of a big celeb's baby, for example. They pay top dollar for those photos. If you do a google search about Angelina Jolie (who is famous for donating the money from first pics of Shiloh, I think it was, to some charity) and also Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes was another one that first pics of the Suri were a big deal.
Casey was paid $200,000 in licensing for photos (and maybe video I'm not sure on that), which supposedly went directly for attorney fees. This was documented during her trial.
So yeah, Kate is right, they don't pay for the interview. No one has asked her about the pictures though. I'd like to see her answer to that question, to see how she words that one. She is clever. She always words stuff very carefully

I agree with those who are describing Kate's constant talk about lack of money as "tacky." No other "stah" ever goes on television and discusses their bank accounts, do they? Kate makes Kate look so bad because she just can't keep her mouth shut. We really don't care to hear her whine about money, Jon, unemployment, or anything else. She makes no sense and 99% of us have caught on to her lying, grifting ways. Where is your pride in all this, Kate? You say you do it all. I'm going to suggest another reason/possible rationale for Katie Irene's decision to trade in the one Toyota for the used Toyota and the Audi back in April. First of all, we have to agree that Katie Irene has been very lucky in her 'career' in that the public was willing to put up with/ignore for the most part, her narcissistic antics in order to see the children. Second, it's been well documented that she has been given chance after chance to spin off in her own right into other jobs in the field of entertainment. Which she failed at miserably because she has no true talent. Because she is incapable of recognizing or admitting that fact, she came to believe that TLC would continue to film the children until they reached 18 and/or she would continue to be given other jobs in the entertainment field. After all, she still hadn't realized her dream job of becoming a co-host on a talk show or doing voiceovers in children's movies. I think the production meeting in April that "went very well" did not go so well and Katie Irene was told that things needed to change or the show WOULD end. So she returned home, put a positive spin on the meeting for the sheeple and stewed. Than because No Never Means No in her world and she just knew the opportunities would never end and there were other networks who would jump at the chance to have her show, she decided to show TLC that she is Can Do Kate who is able to make her own decisions and control her own destiny, etc. So she decided to get rid of/trade in the Toyota that TLC bought her as a way to say F--- You to TLC. I'm sure she rationalized her actions by telling herself she deserved it, but it also sent a message (the wrong one) to TLC. She would have been better off to sit down and work with TLC to improve the show or her chances to segue into other entertainment work. As a result, TLC has sent her a message and she is now crying in People that she was only given a moment's notice re: the cancellation of HER show. Just my two cents.

I still think that Katie Irene had some inkling that the show was not doing well when she traded the Toyota in and her actions were a deliberate dismissal of the facts and a kiss-off towards the growing disapproval of the public.

9/11/2001 affected everyone worldwide, especially those in the US. I live in Vancouver, Canada and go to the US all the time for gas, grocery shopping and my vacations. I love the US and all the people that I have been lucky enough to meet in person and on the blogs.

Guess I could say something about People - last week their cover story was a poignant revisit with the children whose father's died on 9/11 - this week they feature a photoshopped Kate Gosselin and her family, and an article in which she whines about their financial future. You could not make this stuff up, so if I have an opportunity today to turn any magazine covers around myself, it will give me great pleasure to do so.
I have read that even Brad and Angelina received money, which they donated to charity, for the first cover of their twins. We are getting lots of half-truths from the lips of Kate. Anyone surprised? Good Afternoon all! I just hopped on the computer to send messages to my dear UK friends, turns out I seem to have 3 of them... And thought I would check in here too.
Wanted to do some really good American things today, so we went tailgating at the football stadium parkinglot! Fun!!! Like a giant block party! Except we lost the game. Grr. Now we are home and expecting some friends plus some family for a backyard fire and some wine. If it doesnt rain - well, then we will just all be in my modest house and we will put some music on! I am making potato skins, and cutting up veggies for a snack tray. Hope all are having a peaceful day.

Based upon my experience with blogs, the posts that appear that are "being moved" happens because of when they are approved. The posts are all in time order, so if admin approves a post at 1:00 first, then later approves a post that was done at 12:30, the 12:30 post will fall automatically into the correct time slot, not in the order of approval.
This blog moves fast, so when this happens, it unfortunately can cause a post to be missed.

Sometimes I work in Manhattan and go in through Port Authority when I take the bus, or Penn Station when I take the train. I am proud of America but am so saddened to see the National Guard wielding assault rifles standing around in both of those places. I love them that they are willing to protect me and everyone else but hate that it's necessary. What was taken from us is so much more than all the innocent who died that day 10 years ago.
I have been listening to helicopters buzzing around outside for hours now and wondered if this, too, had something to do with the commemorations--then realized, no. These helicopters have nothing to do with the death and destruction--they are celebrating. Jets and Cowboys playing today at The Meadowlands. And I realized life does go on. Even here. We had our day of mourning. Let us now live again.

Purple Skies, I don't think it's personal at all. Sometimes my posts just don't seem to show up and then much later I see they are there, in chronological order. Like they disappeared into the ozone for a bit or something. Could be the browser you're using too. Mine defintely makes a difference (between two different computers).

Re the Twit's twit about reflecting today and focusing on what's important . . . family and friends. I think I just figured out one of the issues.....comments are subsequently getting marked as spam. My spam box has 39 comments in it I have to go through.
Apparently you have to train the spam filter, and there's NO OPTION to turn it off. Ugh, off to train.
I suppose Kate isn't twittering much today because she is in NYC getting ready for her final round of interviews. She and Stevie are probably dining at Nobu as we speak.
Whatever the reasons, I think for once Kate is doing what NORMAL celebs do on a day like this. One or two tweets tops about how they are remembering this day, then shut the f up.

As a Canadian, I too commemurate this sad day. My cousin was among the 24 Canadians who lost their lives in New York on 9/11. I have been so proud of my fellow Canadians in Newfoundland who opened their hearts and homes to the many U.S. citizens who were stranded there when their flights were diverted on that day. For some who spent time at community centers without bathing or shower facilities, the good people of Newfoundland put signs in their windows offering a bath or shower and/or a meal to any and all travellers. Today has been a somber day of recollection for my family.
The majority of her so called "followers" are thought to be dead beat Twitter accounts, and some say she bought them from a web site to look relevant. But, those facebook people are real, and they are not happy about KG. The posts are into the thousands combined, all from newspapers and other media outlets. Sponsors need to beware. Those fb people are serious about her getting off TV, getting a real job and for her to stop begging for money, telling lies, and hiding from the IRS. The majority told her to become a real parent to 8 broken down children. The recent lies she posted on her twat account, and in the interview for People Magazine, stating she is broke, then flaunts, a new to her, $50,000, car, along with the statement that her 6 figure (or more) "Manger" will stay on with her, most likely finished off her dreams of any TV future career.

The People Magazine in the markets, and service station stores in the deep south, were turned backwards, and it did not appear any were missing from the stack bins. This was over the week-end at a few different stores. Bad PR move on People's part. 9/11 was not about KG. Waste of money for all those sponsor ads to sit there to collect dust, with no one seeing them.
I think facebook is one of the better judges of public opinion. A wide variety of people are on it, a better cross section that those that might visit a blog. It's very hard to fake an account so you're not getting a misrepresentation of how people feel and the amount of people who feel that way. And people put their real names behind it, which often suggests they are so convicted they are willing to put their name behind it and it's not just a shit-stirring driveby.

One would be surprised at the number of plastic grocery bags that can be squeezed into the trunk of that car. I have the same car. I had a cart and a half of groceries, and the nice young man who helped me load the groceries (they do that as a courtesy where I shop) laughed when I pointed to my car, figuring I'd never get all of the bags into the trunk. They all fit.
Yes, she can fit groceries in that car, although I'm not sure why she wouldn't take the SUV to do her grocery shopping. Maybe she does.

Emschick, no need to bring that nonsense over here. That blogger is truly deranged and has made up lies out of thin air not just about Jon but about other bloggers like me. Last winter I believe was when she dreamed up an article about Jon that never existed, it was then that a lot of folks here said they finally believed me when I said she made up things out of thin air about me too.
She has repeatedly said that I begged for donations, I lost some kind of school scholarship, and I'm a drunk. The first two are bad enough, but going around calling a private person a drunk when that person doesn't even drink (i.e. without an entire episode of drinking and foot linking and hangovers to back it up as fair discussion) is pretty much an open and shut libel lawsuit, bam, wham, thank you ma'am.
I'm tempted to file such a lawsuit for a few thousand dollars to teach her a lesson and donate to Minor Consideration when I win (not if), it would take me just a few hours of my time to draft the paperwork up and file down at civil court, but filing lawsuits against batshit crazies tends to just egg them on. Also, I doubt she has the capacity to even pay such a suit so why bother. I envision someone in a crazy hospital somewhere allowed to have a laptop.
All that said, this is not a blog just to talk about other blogs or bloggers as hers is, so kindly let's move on to better things....I haven't visited there in ages, but if she is still attacking me on Sept 11....really? I don't know if I agree that TLC was good to her but frankly they were better to her than most networks. Most networks when faced with a trouble maker like Jon would say forget it we're out. TLC stuck with her to fight him and gave her an entire legal team plus legal eagles to STOP PA legislation (what the f-ity f!), and this send-off she is getting from TLC is WAY more than many stars have gotten. She's getting a finale to air everything she ever wanted to say. They could have just as easily said okay we're done now and just aired whatever footage they have left, no questions asked. Better networks do that all the time, cut the cord here's the door see ya wouldn't wanna be ya.

TLC couldn't care less whether Kate keeps a car or doesn't, but consider this - if the LC was a "gift" from TLC, it may very well have been a LEASE for a certain period of time.
Kate may have been angry because the lease was up, and TLC wasn't willing either to extend the lease, or give her another car.
When she said she "traded in" (not sure what her exact words were) the LC, she may have meant "turned in" - because she HAD to, since the lease had ended.
The Audi may have been her own personal consolation prize after TLC treated her -in her mind - so badly. The Sequoia was just what she was supposed to have anyway so that she could avoid the vehicle that allowed her to carry her whole family.
I doubt very much that TLC "gave" her the LC. Usually, companies will lease a car they provide to a contractee, not actually purchase it.
TLC may very well have given her cars, but she would also very likely have it considered as income and taxable.
For the life of me I don't understand someone in her situation taking payment in freebies and not cold hard cash.

No way would TLC have left then, the money was rolling in. Ratings were at their highest, tabloid covers every week. That divorce was like xmas for TLC.
It would make more sense that they would have canceled JK8 earlier and never even considered K8 if Jon and Kate had been able to keep up the happy marriage facade.

Tamara, I bet they would have kissed Kate goodbye when Jon was causing problems if they thought the PR would be too bad. You can bet they sat down in a room and weighed all their options. They probably said well, fighting a father who just wants his children off TV might make us look bad (and it DID, to many, though not all), is this really going to be worth the loss of good will and possibly viewers on the chance we'll make millions more?
They took a chance on Kate knowing the PR might be bad. TLC DID take a chance on Kate by backing her through this suit, and it probably did pay off for them in the long run so they made the right call, but it was still a call they had to make and the easier way out many networks would have taken would be to fold.
That said TLC was a smaller network and probably more willing to gamble on this suit working out because they might never get a chance like this again. A bigger network like say ABC could cut ties and not care.

YES!!! I have always thought that Kate was crazy jealous of Beth and wanted the lifestyle that Beth has. She may think she has it, but really...what she has is pretty pathetic compared to what Beth has. Beth's house is just gorgeous, and the view from the pool area is brathtaking. You can see it in the first 4th of July episode. Be prepared to swoon! Kate's house is nothing compared to Beth's.
Of course, Beth had the little two-seater sports car...was it a Porsche? I thought it was a BMW Z3 Roadster, but maybe I'm wrong. The Audi is nowhere near as nice. I think those things look like Volkswagens (my youngest once said the little Audi looks like a turtle...he was right!).
Really, Kate is trying to acquire Beth's lifestyle, but she lacks the taste to pull it off. I cringe when I see the interior of her house. Please, Kate, hire a decorator! It looks like you furnished it at Big Lots!

@totally disgusted The mere fact that Kate invoked the memory of 9-11 and the victims in a public tweet in such a way that does nothing but draw attention to herself is totally disgusting.
I've remained off twitter all day so as not to draw Kate's attention to any attention she thrives on. After tomorrow, her show is gone and the after shocks from the demise of her show will go on for possibly a week or two. From there she's part of the dust heap of dozens of reality stars who have come and gone and most of us don't even remember most of their names.
She'll do the Wendy Williams show tomorrow, still trying to remain relevant and then the twitter party tomorrow night with a few very diehard fans. The backlash tomorrow night by her followers will be exponentially worse than it has been these past two weeks.
If Kate was ever sincere about anything which she's never been, her sincerity would have spoken volumes and quite loudly by not tweeting her concerns for the 9-11 victims in the morning and then tweeting her upcoming episode on Wendy Williams in the evening.

Unless a household is a Nielsen household, what people watch on televsion has absolutely no bearing on ratings. Period!
(If you are a Nielsen household, you know it, there is no question. No, there is no magical device in all television sets that transmits data to tell people what you are watching. If there was, it would be a gross violation of your privacy!)

After I realized what that blog was doing, I never looked at that blog, ever. I actually don't even like that people tell me about it here. Although well meaning, it prevents me from completely ignoring it.
A lot of celebs say the same thing as Kate, they simply don't look at anything negative or it will eat and eat at you.
Also, I take a page from Jon, too. All that matters is what I know and my family and friends know--that I'm not any of what they say. Hard to live by, but I try.
Just checked the schedule for the "Today" show tomorrow and find that Kate will be among some "heavy hitters." (No less than the likes of Barack Obama, Dr. Phil, Nate Berkus and Martha Stewart). Could she possibly grift a new job? Maybe she will bring her "bills" and cry a river for them?

Thanks for clearing that up--I had never given any thought to how the ratings were calculated. The situation says a lot about Kate's followers. They think she NEEDS them to help her. Come on, folks, this is a woman who wouldn't cross the street to help anyone else--unless they were waving cash or gift cards in the air.
By the way...who the heck is Wendy Williams? Have never even heard of her. So mush for Kate's "media blitz". I am disappointed about the Today Show, though. My son has appeared on that show. I wish they had higher journalistic standards and would filter out the morons like her.
I think TLC made the educated guess that women and the press would take Kate's side because the mother/woman's side is nearly always the most popular or sympathized. Just look at family courts, though I know I'm preaching to the choir there with you Admin :)
I am still kind of amazed that there are people whom post and read sites like this one whom don't know Gosselin "history". It shows how insanely popular the show got that one season.

Well she is one blessed lady to be sitting there with the President of The United States. Plus, all of the other famous stars. I would not have any problem with this if I believed at all that she earned it, or furthermore, truly deserved it. I sometimes question how she gets what she does when he doesn't seem to practice any of the basics in life, like giving back, being humble, being honest, working hard, ect. It is just given to her. No college degree, no acting lessons, no talents, no speciality training, but she is invited to be on with the President? Yea ok...whatever. It's never going to end, and she will continue to make a mockery of it all.

Kate can't even deal with the fact that one of her kids is so "imperfect" as to need glasses. I'd say her tolerance level for any seeming "deviation" -- based on her religion or just her sheer stupidity -- is pretty low.

She may be among some heavy hitters tomorrow, but I don't see her getting a lot of face time with any of them. It's not a situation like the View where she was guest-hosting when Dr. Phil made an appearance and pretty much ignored her:) Security will be tight because of President Obama's presence and I doubt he even knows who she is and access to him will be restricted. In fact, because of the security I see a scenario where everyone is kept in their dressing rooms until time for their segments, etc. I also don't see Martha or Dr. Phil going out of their way to even acknowledge her. Don't know the other guy.
Oh, BTW Katie Irene--the J&K+8 show was on for 4 years? and K+8 lasted for 2 'seasons'--the proof is in the reruns and DVD's. Stupid lying cow.

SHE was mad at TLC even before the meeting. There was no logic to her trading in the LC, that TLC gave HER. Size was not the issue. There is barely a difference. It prob did piss TLC off. You know, the saying "don't look a gift horse in the mouth?"

think like an angry grifter, I agree with your post about the Landcruiser and TLC. Although Kate tweeted that she "traded" it in, it's possible that she was lying about it. Some people thought she was doing the right thing downsizing to a used car, but now we recently discovered she ended up with two vehicles.

Layla, Beth is certainly a woman of grace and refinement. Kate could take several lessons from her book including the fact that a few years ago Beth and her husband, hit by the economic downturn like many of us (or at least that is my understanding), downsized their lifestyle. They sold their home, bought a smaller more affordable one for $225,000 +/- that they restored and lo and behold seem to be doing fine.
Today is September 12, 2011 and the last show of Kate +8 and all should end. Jon is just as bad as his ex wife. He is no "real father"...he is what we call in Children's Court "a visiting father" who relinquished all responsibility of his children to his wife and TLC for $$$$ to get out of his contract and ALLOW Kate and TLC to raise those kids, on TV.
Both Kate and Jon are responsible for the future of the fragile 8 lives they BOTH Brought into this world.
For Jon, overweight again (hey, beer puts on weight) and sitting there calling the 'ketttle black" is stupid. He has walked away from responsibility.
So, as Jon says his kids are happy to see him every OTHER weekend and sleep in sleeping bags in his apt and they LOVE IT?? Please remember that kids will do anything, especially when very young to see their father or mother.
Let's just check back when the 6 are about 15 and they don't have time for Dad and the twins are not in Jon's life at all.
Jon as well as Kate screwed up these kids. So if everything is down hill from here on out because neither Jon nor Kate can "keep those kids in private school as well as staying in a very big home with lots of private land to protect them from the public" well, what a shock to the systems of these kids.
The best thing Kate can do is get her relatives back in the lives of her children so that there is a Buffer in their fragile lives.
8 very confused, fragile, scared children is what Kate & Jon now have to deal with. All they know is filming, travel, camera crews....not relatives.
Get off the sofa Jon and get your self into court and NOW get custody EVERY WEEKEND and get yourself in shape to help your children.
As for Steve, well, they could all get honest, is Steve the lover? Be real, no one is stupid, especially not Kate's brother and his wife. Lots of people know exactly what Kate is all about.
