Jon to Kate: 'There are families out there that have several kids, people work normal jobs and things work out .... Reality television is not a career'

Jon speaks out during Kate's latest poor me tour, telling Kate to "Get back to normal life, simple life, provide for your family."

Meanwhile, Kate was hoping no one would notice a certain third wheel hanging around, an Audi sports car.

Good, sensible thoughts coming from a good man who came to his senses. I'm proud of you, Jon.

Love the sign. And the fact that it's crooked only adds to the fun. Draw your own conclusions.

Ah, the end is near, and the world can go back to spinning on its original axis.

Oh, the irony! Love it. Complete with Kate bending over to get in her new car.

Hopefully Jon can be a rock for the kids, while Kate is out of her mind and off on her tangents about the show ending. I am doing the happy dance for these kids, Collin style.

Just watched the 30 second clip coming up on Monday that someone posted. Made me laugh, Khate is clump, clump clumpin away in a tight red mini skirt wearing hooker heels. Carrying laundry. She looks more rediculous than ever!

Kudo's to the one that photoshopped that sign!
Perfect irony.

I'm still thinking Jon did that interview awhile ago. He never mentioned buying a house and he DID say he was with Ellen for 'over a year' now. Hasn't it been a year and a half??

I guess I don't want to believe Jon would speak out after saying he was done with interviews. Rumorfix.com could have 'sat' on this interview just like Chris Watts sat on his picture of Kate's new car.

I could be wrong.

This is what I can't wrap my head around.

If 90% of my "audience" hated me, and more people than not were calling me out on things...
I'd have enough sense to take a look at what it is I'm doing that bothers people so much and make some changes. I mean, if the overwhelming majority think it's terrible, then it must be terrible.

But not Kate.

Oh no.

She looks at something like that as motivation to continue doing whatever it is that has people so upset. She believes people being upset with her equates satan just trying to stop her, so she presses on with it even harder. She really thinks her bad attitude and nasty behavior is something to be admired, a sign of strength because it bothers people.

I don't mean to offend anyone here who has this particular character trait, but I have never found it endearing to "speak your mind about everything." Most of the time it just makes you (Kate) look more ignorant. But Kate thinks this trait is to be coveted. I disagree. I find it a sign of weakness, that you don't know when to shut the hell up and take the high road.

I think it would behoove Kate to really, I mean REALLY practice tolerance. She just does not do well with tolerating others who think differently than she does. Even little kids. I think this is the first step she needs to take with ajusting that chitty attitude of hers.

It's the CONTENT of the interview. He is speaking about what should be done now that the show is over - getting back to a normal lifestyle. A year and a half IS "over a year." He also says that the kids enjoy his house, not his apartment.

Has anyone tweeted him and asked him when he did the interview?

Ingrid said... 13

I wonder too if Jon's interview is older. I listened to it a couple times and I think his answers sound general. When he said the part about reality tv not being a career, they could have asked his opinion on her continuing the show after they broke up. (or something similar).

I also thought he had lost a lot of weight. It could be the way he is sitting but he looks pretty pudgy on the video (and I suppose he could have gained it back already)

If this Rumorfix had recorded their questions along with his answers and not cut them out I would believe it more.

Old or new, it's relevant to this situation. The gist of it was true then, it's still true today.

I guess sanity and realism never go stale.

K just watched the clips of the raft trip where she said she didn't want to get wet. I am speechless at her attitude.

Her comment about 'do you want to keep your job?", I'd have squirted her really, really well and said, actually, NO. I'm tired of your drama, I'm out of here. (Now that, I would have turned in to see!!!)

And when the kids were touching the fish, and she stood back, saying 'they just had baths'... I wish someone would have just said to her, really loud "STFU kart - your kids are fine. Leave them alone.

I saw the clip of her at the laundry trip. Laughed out loud as the camera guy kept his camera on a lone pair of socks that she dropped in the parking lotk then just kept on bitching as she walked to the car. The camera guys just don't like her, do they?

And the way she said it was Leah's fault that she had to go into the jewelry store..... what a f'ing bitch.

I suspect that viewer numbers will be up for the finale as all will tune in to see her final fail.

I am going to try my hardest to avoid it, and get it on the replay the next day.

I will never, in one million years, understand why a TV station would want to make money filming a mentally ill woman abusing her kids.

And in case of any legal liability here, I think the standard is 'it's not libel if it's true' and the film footage shows it plainly - her NPD and verbal/emotional abuse of kids and everyone.

I am bringing this up from the other thread. I didn't realize there was a new one when I posted it just now.

The car thing is driving me crazy. I don't really care how many cars she has, of course, but crying poor and saying she can't afford to send the kids to gymnastics and taking gifts from people!?!?!?!!?!?!

Particularly Milo. Isn't she the one that was so ill that the Dr. was afraid to tell her the show was canceled? Um hello? Kate? That woman has to have medical bills up the wazoo, even if she does have good insurance.

So for ease, I picked the same year for each car because we aren't sure what year any of them are. So obviously these numbers are not going to be exact, but it gives an idea. I picked 2008, because that was my best guess for the year of the Land Cruiser.

I also looked up the MPG information on all 3 and provide that number second as estimated yearly fuel costs. The LC and Sequoia is the same and the Audi is cheaper, but she has them both now, PLUS the extra insurance, maintenance etc.

2008 Land Cruiser (new) $64,200 (starting price). We don't know what bells/whistles her highness may have in it, of course. $3672

2008 Sequoia 34,150 (for low end model) up to 55,600 (for platinum edition) $3672

2008 Audi TT Roadster $44,500 $2346

So taking into consideration that we don't know the depreciation, actual years, the bells/whistles, it is an awfully tight squeeze to think there was a straight up trade with no other money changing hands in the 2 for 1 trade.

Admin.

I just finished reading the posts on the last thread, and tears are clouding my vision. I am at a loss for words. May I start by apologizing for the hateful words spewed on your blog yesterday, Admin. and fellow bloggers.

I can't believe on the eve of the 10th Anniversary of 9/11, that this is what is important? I love this blog and never have I felt embarassed for being Canadian, until now.

I hope you know we aren't all like that; there's always one bad apple in the barrel that has to ruin it for everyone. We are all just people living on this earth together; we need to help each other out, enjoy the time we have here, not hate!

Hatred against others makes people fly airplanes in to buildings! HAVE WE NOT LEARNED ANYTHING? I feel so awful about the Can./U.S in-fighting, life is too short to waste arguing or reading about it.

I have read all the posts and I think someone had a vendetta, a grudge about lawyers and Admin. was the target. This blog was a place to come and meet friends and snark about life and Kate, and now I feel kind of guarded here.

My motto in life is "to not sweat the small stuff, and it's all small stuff....." I hope we can all find some peace and forgiveness and move on. I don't know if I'll be back; stress aggravates my Fibromyalgia and RSD. I guess I'll sleep on it and see.

I see nothing wrong with what Jon said...weather it was taped 6 months ago or 3 years or even in the last few weeks. This man has been called every name in the book for years.People forget Jon wanted thier NORMAL lives back 2 years ago.He wanted the show stopped. He didnt start this after TLC dropped him.He made it clear to kate that he and the kids were done.Kate didnt like that, she wanted the red carpet life...she very much enjoyed all her perks. She was NOT going to let Jon ruin this for her.SO she divorced him.
Jon has had it damn hard for years.Sure he might have acted crazy for a year or 2 after leaving kate.Who wouldnt? This man was called out on everything by his so-called loving wife.He couldnt do enough with the kids ( we know better..theres tons of footage) Hell...she even yelled at him for how he breathed!!!After 10 years he was free...who else wouldnt woop it up after being freed from an abusive marriage.Dont tell me he wasent abused. If it was Jon that treated kate the way she did him...the world would have been in an up-roar!!

Jon was able to get away...there was nothing he could do to help his kids.kate had the money (tlcs lawyers) kate had the judges support. He thought it was ok for 6 and 10 year olds to miss school so they could WORK.Jon never stood a chance. The world said jon was a dead beat...pisssed cause he wasent making money off the kids like kate was.
What people refuse to believe is that Jon was done! He didnt care about the show or the money...he just wanted his family back...and his privacy!Get a grip people!
So now the show is done...kate is lost. She really believes that she belongs in tv or movies.Jon cared about the kids...about how they felt and what was best for them.
I dont care about how Jon or kate looks.Whos fat or skinny.I care about someone giving these kids what they need most.Someone whos there from them no matter what...
I think Jon has every right to say what he did. This was his life too.He has every right to speak up and defend his actions and to protect his kids.

Kate may not like it, but Jon makes sense.
Sooner or later, will have no choice but live her life like many people with large families do.

Hey Jude, hope you stay...I think most people here really enjoy your posts. As far as Jon, I agree w/ what he said, but I wish he had said nothing and stayed out of the fray. Many times, there's a lot more strength in remaining silent than constantly spouting off. I don't approve, but understand, why Kate will be on the TODAY show--it is intertwined w/ TLC with its DATELINE shows. However, why anyone else would have that despicable shrew on is beyond me.

Tess said... 30

Thank goodness those kids have Jon. Sometimes all it takes is one kind loving person to preserve sanity. The kids will need every ounce of his strength.

The 'tour du pity' may just blow up in her face. I mean, now that cargate has surfaced, she is going to look like the idiot she is crying poor. If they decide to stick it to her, she will be unprepared, and again, look like the idiot she is. I'm thinking this round of media appearances is a lose-lose for her. Most people either do not know who she is, don't care about her whining anyway, and in the wake of the 10th anniversary of 9/11, will be busy thinking about things that really matter.

Bless the children.

What do you think really made the brass at TLC see the light and cancel Kate. I really don't think it was ratings at all; they've been in the toilet the past year. Do you think that perhaps they finally saw what a reprehensible human being she truly is and finally wanted no part of the continued abuse to everyone around her. Look at how they started showing her in such a negative light. Of course somebody did say for one hour of TV footage filming takes hours, still she did seem to be their golden girl for so long. Wonder what happened to make them see the light.

As for Jon saying 'my house' that isn't an uncommon expresssion, at least where I am from, for people to say even if they live in an apartment. Many people will say come on over to my house......perhaps it's a regionalized expression?

HBailey said... 32

While I personally see nothing wrong with what he says in the video I still wish he would just lay low. Speaking out at all only fuels her narcissism even more. I'm sure she makes life very difficult for him on a constant basis and interviews like this will only add fuel to the fire. The absolute best way to deal with a narcissist is NOT to deal with a narcissist. Get them as far away from you and your life as possible. I realize he doesn't have the luxury of completely shutting her out of his life because of the kids, but he can control his actions when it comes to how he responds and doing an interview is just not something he needs to do.

Yes, it sucks that she can go on every TV show and foot sweep Jon in every interview by talking trash about him, but the public has started to put this together and see that she's always tearing him down and crying about this or that and he's been silent and works a regular job and stays out of the spotlight. The public has started to see the situation for what it really is just by him remaining silent. I have absolutely no doubt it is very difficult to keep your mouth shut when someone is spewing lies about you all the time in the press. It's a wonder he hasn't bit threw his tongue already! But he's done the very best thing he could do by remaining silent and laying low. It's not only in his best interest to not react, but it's also the best thing for those kids.

I've always said if you give a narcissist enough rope, they will eventually hang themselves with it. She's done that and continues to do so. He just needs to sit back and let her tighten the noose even more.

I also don't think the video is old just because the content is too specific to the show being cancelled. But it really doesn't matter at this point because it's out there and the majority of the public will take it at face value that it was a recent video.

Gimme said... 33

I personally think in this case it is good that Jon spoke out because after watching Showbiz it seems that many of those shows still think Jon is in the Ed Hardy phase and Khate has done nothing to discourage them from having that opinion. She has led them to believe by the power of suggestion that he only chooses to see his kids two weekends a month, and would have them to believe that he doesn't pay child support and that it is all on her. She never failed to mention when the opportunity arose that the kids had to sleep in sleeping bags on the floor in Jon's lowly apartment. And even boldly said that he should have no say so over the kids because he only sees them twice a month. She also on film ordered the kids to leave this or that in the big blue bus or I won't get it back intimating that he was irresponsible in returning their items. I think that is the age old number one complaint amongst those who bicker over custody, it is an easy targe, something handy to bitch about. Who ever knew back in the wholesome look days that Khate would turn out to be the ex-wife from hell. I used to truly believe that she was all that she said she was and can't believe how she fooled everyone then. No wonder she thinks she can do it again.

IMO when Jon referred to his "house," it meant the house he was renting. He had moved from his apartment to a house earlier this year but I don't think he owns it. Someone else had mentioned him moving to a house. I also have the feeling that the interview was done months ago and seems timely in appearing now. I also thought he had lost a lot of weight due to his current job and healthy eating. And he wouldn't be wearing long sleeves because it's still hot in PA.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

My husband wears long sleeved shirts to work everyday, and we live in South Florida!
I think the confusion about this video is caused by the fact that Jon answers questions put to him off camera (the questions were not recorded on film)
You can kind of follow the interview questions in the article that accompanied the video on Rumorfix:

Jon, who doesn’t speak to the former star of Kate Plus 8, has some surprisingly stinging words for America’s most famous mom: “Reality TV is not a career. Get back to a normal life — a simple life. Provide for your family.”
Jon, who says he has given up TV and is enjoying working as a computer support engineer, is responding to People’s cover story where Kate claims, “I’m really scared,” after her TLC reality show was cancelled after six years.Although Kate says she is “freaking out” about her financial future, Jon is optimistic. “Things will work out the way they should work out. Obviously there are families out there that have several kids – people work normal jobs and things work out. Everything is possible,” he tells RumorFix.
And what if the Dancing with the Stars alum has to unload her huge farm home in Pennsylvania? Jon has absolutely no sympathy, “I don’t have a farm on 24 acres and the kids seem to have a great time at my house.”
Jon tells us he sees the kids “a lot,” but says a court order requires that he not be more specific. He also insists that he continues to pay child support.
Jon adds that he likes his life now that he’s out of the limelight. “I go to work every day and provide for my family,” he tells us. “I spend time with my kids – spend time on the weekends. I spend time with the girlfriend I’ve had for over a year now. And enjoy a normal lifestyle.”
I really do believe that this video is a recent one!

I respectfully beg to differ on the timing of this video - the timing of this coming out is important. He wasn't going to do any more interviews and I don't believe he did. He said he is enjoying working as a computer support engineer. I thought he had a different job now. Wasn't the computer support engineer job the one before his current one? Also, I believe I read that the kids now have beds at his house. Good for Jon (and Ellen) for taking care of his family.

I feel as though he should have probably NOT said anything, yes, but I'm feeling at this point he felt compelled. He sees what his kids are going through, he knows what Kate is saying about him on twitter all the time, & I'm sure he's fed up. Yes, the upturn is in his favor. Kate has dug her hole, people are seeing the true her. Jon is finally 'winning', but how long can one person sit & get shit on day after day?

I'm happy he addressed only the facts. He didn't really slam Kate, it wasn't on a talk show. Kate will address this though, won't she, on Today. She has bitched & bitched & lied & lied about Jon. She deserves her comeuppance.

Hey Jude, one of the most moving stories to come out of 9-11 happened not in New York City or D.C. or on American soil, but in Gander, Newfoundland.

Since Newfoundland is the easternmost point in North America, dozens of flights coming from Europe were diverted there when the towers fell. People were stranded for four days in a far away place while all these horrific things were happening down here.

The Canadians rallied around them and provided for their every last need and thensome. They made being stranded fun and happy and not scary, especially for all the children there. Deep friendships were born, and I think that ironically, a little place up in Canada turned out to be most representative of the good in human beings during that horrific time. I grew up on the border, I have family there, this is how I perceive Canadians.

Tom Brokow did a moving piece on it at one point, which happily I was able to find. Although I have seen it, I decided this weekend was a good time to watch it again and it was even more moving than I remember. Watch it with a box of Kleenex on this solemn weekend.

Gander nearly doubled its population once all the flights were grounded. The town people gathered up everything they could think of for the 'refugees' that landed there. They ultimately had so many unused donations of clothing that they were able to donate them back to the community. This was one of the 'happier' times of Gander. For one of the saddest google 'Silent Witness'; the sad flight of Arrow flight 1285. Actually here is the link: http://www.airforce.forces.gc.ca/9w-9e/page-eng.asp?id=510

Newfoundlanders are truly among the first responders and they open their hearts and homes without question. I just love the Newfs!

I wonder why TLC refuses to comment on Kate's cancellation? Hmm...

MickeyMcKean said... 49

Last night on ACCESS HOLLYWOOD Billy Bush and another co host (I have no idea who the idiot is) brought up the fact that Jon Gosselin had a recent message for Kate.

With a screen shot of Jon in the background with the headline Ultimate Couch Potato, Billy Bush said, "Jon Gosselin sat down with rumorfix offering his advice to ex wife Kate after her comment to People mag that she was scared about her family's future now that her show was canceled."

Then AH showed a clip of Jon saying, "To rely on reality television that is a misnomer, reality TV is not a career. Get back to normal life, simple life, and provide for your family"

While laughing Billy Bush said, "I don't know ... he is a carpenter now ... someone told me he was a personal trainer but I don't think I believe it"

The other host said, "well it is pretty obvious that he does something other than to go to a gym. Maybe he is just jealous that he is not quite as attractive as other people who can make it as a reality TV star?!?"

Then Billy said, "Boy that is a low budget operation ... did you see the seat cushions flying up? He needs something on the walls"

These two idiots did not even acknowledge the message Jon had for Kate! Instead they just mocked him big time and I couldn't help but wonder why would they back Kate up like this?

These are not Sheeple, they are in the business and they have to know what has been said in the industry about the last 2 RV episodes where TLC showed the true Kate. Also, surely they have figured out that Kate wouldn't be a reality TV star in the first place if she did not exploit her own kids so she does not have to get a real job.

Besides, doesn't AH know that it is the parent's responsibility to support the kids, not the other way around? Does AH believe that it is a good idea to expose your children to every pedophile out there in TV land?

Right now I wish that Jon had not said anything. The progress he made with taking the high road for over a year just got smashed to smithereens because it comes down to there are people out there who still think Jon just wears Ed Hardy T Shirts and is not working and supporting his kids.

Per twitter Kate is supposed to be interviewed by AH on Monday. Now after this segment I'm pretty sure Billy will stir things up and bring up Jon and it will no doubt prompt Kate to throw Jon under the bus again big time.

However, I know that viewers, both on and off the blogs, are just sick and tired of Kate and want her gone and off their TV, myself included. The finale episode is Monday night with repeat episodes on Wednesday night so it is almost a done deal.

I just have to wait a little while longer before my TV is going to be Gosselin-free and the Gosselin children can start to live their lives as private citizens.

There's no way she traded the black SUV for a bigger SUV and a sports car without having to fork over some cash too. Maybe it knocked a little off the sticker prices but some of that was with the kids' money. Plus if she's singing she works hard for them money, presumably she means she spent money on herself.

I'm in the market for an Audi (but not a two seater, and not a convertible) and lemme tell you, they're great cars, but nothing about them is inexpensive. The maintenance and upkeep is something I can afford, but I'm waiting even a while longer to make SURE I can easily afford the upkeep.

There is simply no way she traded in that one Toyota for another Toyota SUV and a "little car" (don't you love the way she calls it that, like it's some little Ford Focus or Kia?) and didn't either fork over a wad of HER KIDS' MONEY or FINANCE the balance.

As for the guy questioning her on twitter, Kate seems to fail to understand that as a public figure looking for sympathy for her financial/work situation, she does indeed have to answer some questions. She is indeed open to criticism! I have no idea where she got this notion that she's immune to questioning. If she becomes a 100% private citizen, then I won't have anything to say about her. But she WANTS to be in the public eye and that comes with the good and the bad.

I can't wait until Hangover Tuesday arrives for her. Whatchoo gonna do, Kate? Those manicures and tanning sessions won't pay for themselves! Grift harder on Twitter! God knows you won't have a TV show or anything close to it, no one wants to work with your hateful ass.

Do I wonder for a second how people pay for the hundreds of luxury cars I see every day on the highway? No, because it's none of my f-ing business. If Kate were just another private citizen who decided to buy a car she has no business buying, that's her problem not mine.

But, I absolutely, 100% believe that a parent out there spending their children's money while they make them work their childhoods away not only should be our business, but MUST be our business.

The protection of children is a matter of public concern. And while abuse and the like are generally considered the most important, that doesn't mean that the protection of a child's money shouldn't also be the public business. And the law agrees, or we wouldn't have countless laws on the book in various states about a showbiz child's money.

Kate, because you chose to work your children to finance your own rapper life, how you spend their money is always going to be the public's business, so get used to it.

No Regrets said... 67

It is pathetic how Jon is still being put down for his acting out period. These stupid people don't even stop think, when people do go through a divorce, especially one as public and bitter as theirs, people DO go through many changes. Then, after it is out of their system, they usually calm down. I have seen it too many times. Jon has more than redeemed himself, but they just can't cut him a break at all.

Kate doesn't deserve a break. She is still doing her pity party and continually zinging Jon, this after 2 years after the divorce.

I also love how she complains about the pap pictures of her car being held to "make her look bad". So she admits it DOES look bad, because it does. Yet, she somehow turns it around to being the paps fault. LOL

Of course she spent the kids' money on the bigger SUV. She doesn't need the bigger SUV. She only needs it for hauling kids. In Kate logic, that means the kids should pay for the SUV out of their money. (Not that it's their money anyways in her twisted mind. They are her kids. She birthed them, she owns them. What's theirs is hers and what's hers is hers.)

As for Kate's attitude about all the criticism and why it doesn't seem to bother her/she's shameless, remember to a narcissist everything someone says about them that isn't praise is WRONG.

That's the number one reason a true narcissist can never change or grow. The praise they get is 100% correct, the criticism is 100% incorrect. Even if EVERYONE IN THE WORLD criticized them mercilessly, they would still be convinced they are right and everyone is wrong.

It's sad, really. Some of my biggest growing up moments came after loving criticism from friends. I listened, realized they were right, and made changes/grew up. I'm thankful for moments like that, it causes growth. Kate will never know what that's like. There's no self-improvement for the narcissist, they're already perfect. Even the rare times she pretends to confess some flaw, it's a flaw that isn't really a flaw, like being "organized," "a perfectionist," "being driven." It's all bullshit for display purposes only, because even the narcissist realizes it's not cool to actually confess openly that you think you're perfect.

But make no mistake: Kate Gosselin thinks she's perfect. Why would she change?

The answer, if you think about it, is quite simple. TLC. She was protected by TLC and assumes she still is. She truly is an ass.

For everyone trying to excuse Jon's decision for speaking out again in an interview:

First off, if you go to YouTube and watch the video I think it is clear the questions they are asking and he is responding to are in direct reference to statements she made in the People article.

There is also a second video where he fiscusses how he lost 30 pounds. Yes, Jon is still pudgy around the middle but he is noticeably thinner than even the solar panel installation photos that came out just a few months ago.

Jon is an adult and can change his mind. Please don't try to revise history and excuse his decisions. Kate and her fans do that constantly (e.g. I bought the car six months ago and the paps sat on the picture). While I think there really was no need for him to give the interviw, Jon obviously wanted to correct some misconceptions and to give some perspective, if not to Kate then to everyone else.

I apologize if I offended anyone.

______________________________________________

I think I have an idea of what went down with the car situation.

I remember when she tweeted in April that she traded in the Land Cruiser for a used Sequoia because the Sequoia had one extra seat. That might be what she means by "bigger." The LC has 7 seats while the Sequoia has eight, however the LC is about $20k-$23k MORE than a Seq. I remember people speculating that she might double belt two tups in one of the seats to avoid driving the unglamourous BBV. Anyhoo, I believe this transaction occured after her mysterious meeting with TLC, after which she didn't tweet for a few days. We thought maybe at that time she got some "news." Because the LC was alledgedly a gift from TLC and she's never disputed that, I thought maybe she was tightening her belt for "the end", trading in the LC for the Seq. and pocketing some cash. What was I thinking? Of course she wouldn't do that.

It's very possible that (since she didn't pay for the LC) she could have traded it in on the Seq. and the TT and maybe come out even. However, for someone who has been yammering on & on & on about her dire financial situation and crying poor, this decision not to POCKET AND SAVE THE REMAINING CASH on the LC trade, instead she used it towards A EXPENSIVE FOREIGN SPORTS CAR FOR HERSELF and HEERSELF ONLY shows what a selfish, lying, conniving bitch she is. She was fairly open about the Sequoia trade, funny she failed to also mention back in April that she bought a toy from herself. For someone who really doesn't care what people think she sure managed to hide that for quite a few months. She knew it was a distinct possibility she was going to have to resume crying poor and a shiny black sports car would fly in the face of her fake poverty. I'm glad there has been several news articles about this purchase, hopefully she'll have to rewrite her script for Monday's "I'm struggling" appearance on Today.

My take on Jon's interview was that he shouldn't have done it. While I think Billy Bush is a big tool, he's kind of right about the whole thing looking a little low-rent. Jon didn't say anything out of line, however he didn't add anything either. His statement right after the show was canceled was short and sweet and he should have left it at that. Kate wants sooooo badly to spark up that publicity from their back & forth in the media, he shouldn't have taken the bait. Like every one has said, she's doing just fine on her own ruining her image and any further opportunities in the biz, he should have left well enough alone.

Remember…………………..

I just read this morning in the Wall Street Journal about the story of a man and his dog who provided healing and pet therapy to all the rescuers at Ground Zero during the months of retrieval work. The article was so moving I was brought to tears.

All the 9/11 stories today and this week have been powerful. It makes one take stock of their life, makes one realize what is really important in life, and what isn’t.

A life well lived is worth more that wealth. A life well lived is harmonious, joyful and balanced. Each day is a precious gift.

While I really dislike kart as a person, and further dislike her actions, I find myself feeling extremely sad for her and her kids. She has no idea how to live a worthy and peaceful life. In her soul, she has to be very unhappy, and that makes me sad as a fellow human.

Whatever is wrong with her mind is robbing her of joy, harmony and peace, and it's carrying the unhappiness like a cancer on to the next generation, her precious children. It causes sadness, anger and distress to all whose lives she touches.

What happened on 9/11 was profoundly devastating. When events like this occur we search to find some meaning, some tiny scrap of good or meaning to come from it, some way to explain the unexplainable.

Choosing to live our lives in peace, find balance and joy in every day, surround ourselves in the love of family and friends, learn and live the important things... this is what honors the memories of those who died, the families who remain behind and those who searched for them, for this week and all time.

None of knows when our time will come. Living life as kart does is a waste of the beautiful gift that is Life. It dishonors those who died and their families and friends left behind.

As trite as it might sound, my husband and I plan to honor those lost by reflecting this weekend, and visiting with family and friends.

For me, kart may be a bitch, a disturbed sad lonely pathetic excuse for human, but she is irrelevant.

Keep those 9/11 victims, their rescuers, family and friends in your hearts this weekend. Honor them in whatever way you feel is right.

Remember…………

I have seen Jon, Ellen, and the kids out and about in the Reading area, and the kids look so happy and relaxed and smiling. They don't even have to line up to walk anywhere, or wear matching clothes. They do normal things, and don't seem to be missing the cameras at all. In fact, they NEVER look that happy on TV. Shows you who is doing a good job of parenting.

Also, I drive past Kate's house frequently, and NEVER see the paparazzi hanging around these days. That was not the case two or three years ago, but now...it's deserted. Don't have to avoid H. Road any longer. So all her whining about the paparazzi is crap.

I think it's hilarious how transparent she is. She wanted a dating show, and talked about how the kids were smashing their fists on the table and demanding she get married. No takers, so she dropped that story. I can just imagine the liability of putting her on a show like that...the first time she hits a man (like she used to hit Jon and even hit Emeril when he visited) there will be a lawsuit. So, no show. Then, it was the "I have the gift of gab, so why not use it?" story when she wanted a talk show. Well, she was a mess on the other talk shows she did, and she has nothing to say except to go on and on about herself, her kids, and Jon. Note to the talk shows, WE'RE OVER IT ALREADY. And since she has nothing more to add, why bother?

Also, to answer People Magazine's question about whether her kids will be okay...yes, they will be fine. My son does television appearances and interviews frequently, and we are vigilant about safeguarding his privacy. Sometimes people may recognize him, but never anything intrusive. We will not allow that. He lives a pretty normal life, and he can handle the hotels and limos, and still go to school and just be one of the kids. He has the best of both worlds. Her kids can experience that, too, if she will just give them a chance. It's all about balance, Kate. When will you understand that?

Admin. I'm only a Canadian and not really affected by 9/11 BUT how about tomorrow, on the anniversary, it be a Kate-free day. I know your blog is about exploited kids but how about, just this once, doing an in-memorial or memorial blog where those who were affected, can write a few words of memorial to those lives lost senselessly. Kate does NOT deserve a single, solitary word tomorrow.

Kate claims she works oh-so-hard for her money with this ridiculous reality show.
Yet, she is FAR more panicked at the thought of having to go back to nursing!

Could it be because SHE KNOWS how much harder it is to be a nurse than it is to be a diva reality star? She will actually have to start doing some hard work for a change to earn that paycheck. No more laying poolside with the boobyguard and ordering nannies and hired help around.

Yeah, she's singing "She works hard for the money" now doing NOTHING. Just wait until she's back to clocking in and has co-workers she can't order around and can't sit on her ass all day. No hair and make up people to glam her up before her shift starts.

Any job that doesn't hurt others (i.e. not prostitution, drug dealing, child exploiting) and that you work hard at is something to be proud of. I detest the subtle put-downs of what makes up the backbone of America.

AMEN!!! There are so many great comments on this thread, but this one, in particular, hit me between the eyes. My daughter eloped seven (7) years ago with someone I would never have envisioned as a future son-in-law...he had lots of tattoos, and I thought he was full of hot air and couldn't stand him...UNTIL they moved into a small house right after they were married (a day or two before Thanksgiving), and he had his family and me over for Thanksgiving (I live in another city, so it was a drive for me). He had stayed up ALL NIGHT getting that little house immaculate and did all the cooking, had gotten a haircut and was wearing a white sweater and looked like a young Robert Downey, Jr. (except that he's 6'2). That young man has always treated me with respect and always tells me he loves me, has worked his butt off at blue-collar jobs, and is currently in charge of a kitchen at a popular hang-out but not happy and has been offered his previous job back simply because he is such a HARD WORKER. I admire anyone who can hustle and work hard, and even though he and my daughter divorced one (1) year ago, I will always consider her ex "my son"--in fact, he called me last night. I dated a high-profile attorney for five (5) years who went to work at 10:00 a.m. everyday when he was supposed to be there at 8:00 a.m., was always late to parties "to make an appearance," and took two (2) hours for lunch. Give me someone like my ex son-in-law anyday of the week, and I better never hear anyone criticize anyone else for an honest day's work, regardless of their occupation. Sorry this is so long, but this really got my blood boiling.

You are affected by 9/11. The whole world was affected by it.

Overt acts of war and terrorism diminish us all. Terroristic acts had been bubbling up for years but the sheer magnitude of 9/11 changed all countries forever. Our senses of security will be forever changed.

And now, lest I get too carried away, I'll be signing off and will see everyone again on Tuesday for the recap of the finale.

If I were going to plant a story I don't think I would have waited two long years to do so. Nor would I bury the comment on an OLD THREAD that was already inactive and everyone had moved on to the new thread and the only reason anyone even saw it, including me, was someone went back there after the fact. I never would have even seen it otherwise!

Nor would I just leave ONE comment then let it go. I would at least have "Ashley" post back and forth a few times.

Really sheeple, get a brain.

Does anyone else wonder if this latest "press tour" is TLC's setup to let her hang herself the rest of the way? Kate needs to remember she is the one who started all this by putting herself and her family out there to begin with. She sought the attention and glare of the spotlight. Along with that comes the criticism and scrutiny.
I'm not sure I agree with Jon speaking out now, but can certainly understand why he felt he needed to correct misperceptions about his new life out of the spotlight. Kate and the media continue to attack him mercilessly.

Okey dokey I will try to articulate a bit better. Yes Canadians were affected to a degree but, as a nation, we were not affected the same as those in the US. The USA was attacked on their own soil and many lives lost; a few Canadians, but nobody I know personally so it doesn't really affect me (I hope that doesn't sound cold I am just being a realist). I know this horrible event has been in the minds of US citizens since that attack; I'm sure nobody in the US thought this could possibly happen on their own soil. In Canada we may have been inconvenienced to a degree but we did not suffer the overwhelming terror or loss the US suffered.

Oh, I forgot the story about how much fun it was to step outside herself and be somebody else when she wanted to try acting, and no takers on that, so she dropped that story. It's hilarious how she comes up with these stories that are so transparent, and repeats them over and over (hint, hint), then drops them when she doesn't get what she wants. She must think we're all pretty stupid and cannot figure out her ulterior motives.
Funny little side note here, one of her Tweetie pals said that People mag was flying off the shelves in record numbers, but my oldest son, who works at Costco, said that they did not sell a single copy at his store. He said they were all laughing at the way people would roll their eyes and make faces when they walked by and saw the cover with her on it. Several times they found that shoppers had turned the magazine around so they couldn't see the cover, and the workers were told to keep watch so they could turn it back around. Ha!

bluenoser you are absolutely right about having a NO KATE DAY.

I am attending church services held to commemorate the anniversary of 9/11. It is a special service. We have a really large military base here and many are attending. Breakfast for them and many other events planned. We have had such a huge response from them to attend, I am really touched. Many are here without families near and it will help them feel a little less homesick, I hope.

In fact, I am getting off here now. I am just too angry to post. I apologize for my angry posts. You guys know, I hope, that I usually am not like that. It is just so disgusting to see a person so self centered, so egotistical she cannot see anything further than the end of her own nose, as someone recently said. She has 8 beautiful little children, that she just does not fully appreciate nor even really care about. For that my heart really hurts for them.

Everyone have a wonderful day.

The comments about the "set" Jon was on were so unnecessary too!

Assuming this is his house, and who really knows this could be a hotel room, JON IS LIVING WITHIN HIS MEANS.

WTF is wrong with a nice couch and nice table that look like maybe you could make off with them for under $500. Is he supposed to go to some posh furniture boutique and lay down three grand for a couch instead of spending that money on his children? How does that make sense?

I don't understand a society that isn't PRAISING people for living in a manner they can afford while still making things NICE. Especially with the economy right now, WTF why is the media LIKE THIS???

Bluenoser said...
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

I'm going to chime in here and then go to my 2nd nursing job (which has flexible hours)that I use to pay for my daughter's college education. Not moaning, not bragging--but it can be done, KATIE IRENE.

There's a lot of chatter about TLC's motives in the Gosselins saga. First and foremost, TLC is a corporation/business created for the sole purpose to make money thru the filming of TV shows designed to attract viewers, ratings and advertisers. Although all businesses are designed to make money, human beings run each business and make decisions re: it's primary goal or business model. Smart business owners are always aware of the public's opinion about their product and adapt accordingly. The Gosselins were always a product, the same as the Roloffs, the Duggars, My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, Toddlers and Tiaras, etc. Think about each of the families in the previous sentence. Do you see the trend? From family friendly fare to programs bordering on the salicious, with the exception of the Duggars. LPBW ran it's course, helped along by Matt's antics-he appeared to go off the tracks/lost his grounding, got a DUI and other incidents-but is now coming back? in limited specials. When Jon left J&K+8, there was no longer a buffer for Katie Irene's actions and her narcissistic behavior and poor parenting skills came out front and center in all it's glory. The behind the scenes stories about J&K+8/Katie Irene from those closely associated with the family, which have been around since almost the very beginning of the show, began to gain more credibility as it obvious to the viewing public that Katie Irene's children were nothing more to her than living, breathing props to be used in her quest to become a Hollywood 'stah, rather than 8 precious children to be protected and parented. Because some of the crew members changed frequently, despite all of her protests to the contrary, I think the crew members were reporting her inappropriate behavior and refusing to work on the show. So while part of me wants to believe that the humans behind TLC decided to bring this farce to an end, it is also obvious from a business viewpoint that the trend of showcasing families of HOM's is coming to an end due to saturation in the media and poor ratings.

The following is a video I discovered on youtube which has always put the difference between the parenting styles of Jon and Katie Irene into perspective and made me smile. Ignore most of the subtitles and just focus on the joy Jon gets and gives his children. All 8 of them.

This reminds me of a conversation I had with a family member last weekend. They had attended a wedding of a distant cousin and they were telling me about it. Or rather, complaining about it. The venue was too small, the food wasn't that good, I didn't really like her dress. They said when my kids have their weddings it won't be like this, I want to give them something nice.

My blood started to boil because I know these cousins and they are LOVELY people. I said wait a minute isn't the bride in her first year of teaching? Yes. And what does the groom do. Factory worker for a big local company.

And I know what her parents do. I said HOW are they supposed to throw some kind of 5 star wedding? How? Are they supposed to go into debt to please you. It's not about the guests it was about them and they are sooo in love.

I don't care if it caused a fight, it just pissed me off so much that these hard working people are expected to throw some posh wedding just to appease some distant cousin. I think people should spend WHAT THEY CAN AFFORD and should not feel pressure from stupid relatives or the media or what have you to spend money they don't have.

I am so sick and tired of people looking down on people who are doing exactly what they SHOULD be doing given their incomes.

I think one reason I was fond of Jon in the beginning was the way he treated his children reminded me of my dad, whom I adore.

I saw Jon working hard all week, then doing projects all weekend long to help make the house better for the family. We saw this all the time.

My dad also worked 9 to 5 all week long, but didn't collapse in the armchair after that, he played with us kids, did the baths, everything. Not that my mom wouldn't but he wanted to be a part of it too and not the dad who just works and wants a beer when he gets home.

And his weekends he busted butt just like Jon doing stuff around the house for us or spending time with us.

He is a great Daddy and so is Jon and no sheeple will ever tell me anything different because I LIVED IT AS A CHILD.

Has it been confirmed that this really is the same Big Fan that has posted previously? When she returned from a brief hiatus (VERY brief), the content, language and style of writing just isn't the same as before.

The new sports car IS much more fuel efficient than her previous SUV, but I'm not sure why she traded the Land Cruiser for another Toyota SUV that gets about the same gas mileage as the Land Cruiser. What was wrong with the Land Cruiser? Did she ever say? The new Sequoia might have just a tad bit more room that the Land Cruiser, but no so much that would make much difference.

@midnight madness The Audi is a 2.0 Turbo. Really nothing more than a 2 door Audi A4. This particular car is a 4 cylinder and the gas mileage is anywhere from 22mpg to 29mpg depending on driving habits, using a/c etc. The downside to this particular car is that the manufacturer states that you must your premium gaa and not regular, not even mid grade. 93 octane or better.
With premium gas averaging around $3.99 per gallon as opposed to 3.45 for regular it's a trade off. No real savings for mpg as opposed to cents per gallon. The maintenance on these vehicles isn't cheap either. Being that it is a used vehicle, she only gets a 30 day warranty period unless she choose to purchase an extended warranty and those aren't cheap either. The factory warranty and the extended warranty don't cover routine maintenance unless you purchase the maintenance plan which averages around $1,500 additional.
She also has to use synthetic oil in this vehicle which costs twice as much as a regular oil change. The long and short of it is, Kate's not saving anything on the purchase of this car. She either pays the costs for upkeep now or pays it later. Either way, she's gonna pay big time. Not a good choice of vehicles for trying to be economical.

EXACTLY my point. They were nothing at all like you see on TV. Just a bunch of kids, walking along, all chattering at the same time, nobody yelling at them to march in line and take turns talking. They were just like any other big family. Yes, there was one person taking pictures, but none of them said anything about it. The kids always look like they are on guard when they are on TV, afraid to do something wrong and upset their mother. And I think that's why you see them melt down on TV; they have to be on their guard at all times. The pressure must be unbearable. But with their dad...normal, happy, chatty. And this will infuriate the Tweeties, but they seemed very happy with Ellen, too.

OK here is just a little observation I made, not sure what to make of it but it sort of makes me go "hmmmm"

Kate bought a convertible Audi TT for herself in April at the same time she traded in her LandCruiser for a Sequoia. She kept quiet about the Audi, but publicly acknowledged the Sequoia.

In the RV episode, she made a comment about how she would have prefered to drive that mountainous road in a convertible rather than an RV. It's not that unusual of a comment but still, something a little out of the ordinary for her - it certainly was one of the obnoxious comments that struck me when I originally watched the show.

Then within a few days of that episode airing, we see pics of her and her 'secret' Audi convertible.

I just finding it interesting that
a. we didn't know about the Audi until this week
b. her comments about driving the mountain road in the convertible were included in the episode
c. pics of the Audi are revealed in the next week.

To lighten the mood a little, here's a blast from the past even the most long term of non-fans might have forgotten about.

Around July of 2008 Jon and Kate, well probably just Kate, put this sign in their yard of the old E-Town house. Now remember tweeties, Kate LOVES you and appreciates you soo much.

DON'T LOOK AT OUR HOUSE- JUST SEND MONEY!

The text on this love letter to the fans read:

STOP!

Do not stop in front of our house.

Do not take pictures.

Do not stop and talk to us.

Now do you sheeple see why Steve was hired? To handle bat and ape shit crazy stunts like this and to keep YOU away from HER. You're not worthy.

I know we will all be remembering and reflecting this weekend. While what happened was profoundly sad, I will forever be in awe of our response to this tragedy as a country. I became a Jon fan for two reasons - one my fave when he was showing his shampoos and things for the baths and he was proud of his stash and about how much he used and the kids' hair was always shiny and fresh. I don't think she ever bathed any of those kids from birth till the time he left. Also when they got the beds and he worked his butt off putting them together and never complained. She never even offered to hand him so much as a screwdriver. Then at 11:30 that night he still had not earned his keep so she wanted him to move their bedroom around so "people" couldn't see that they didn't make their bed and he flat out said no and the wench didn't like it but she shut her mouth. And of course the crown jewel - when are you gonna take the stick out. He worked hard to take care of those kids and it had to have been a tremendous loss to lose to lose their caregiver. Then she got that nanny that put their hair in those tight braids that had to have hurt like heck and you just knew that Khate didn't do it even though she was hiding the nanny, still then. Then Jon left and the show went to hell in a hand basket.

Well, they wouldn't be that bad, except that they're all "ding dong the witch is dead" ratings. After next week, she'll be lucky to ever find even half a million people willing to watch her.

It's sooooooooo over. The rest of her "entertainment" history, if it even exists, will consist of people fleecing her as they promise to make her a stah.

Even that phase won't last long, once she realizes that the sleezbos who will talk to her aren't going to be coughing up the bucks for the limos, spas, Nobu, the hair and the nannies.

Most of the narcissists I've knows are a lot brighter than K8, and MUCH better at staying on top of things. She must be in the bottom one percent.

If Kate cries enough, maybe Kris Jenner or Ryan Seacrest will offer to manage her and the 8 over on E!. It will cost Kate a bundle, but I could see that happening. It may not last for too long, but Kate is desperate to stay relevant, don't you think? She'll take whatever offers come her way. Hope I am mistaken on this prediction.

Maybe somebody's already said this:

I like the interview with Jon for one reason. It shows the stark contrast between Jon and Kate. He's sitting on a regular fabric sofa in a very plain room. Kate is shown getting into her very, very fancy new car with its leather seats and bells and whistles.

Layla said... 151

I disagree that she has something in the works. TLC let her go because she demanded too much money for the relatively small audience she brought in, plus she was a nightmare to work with. Funny how she claims that she was so involved in the production of the show, yet when they made the decision to cancel, she had NO input. They just informed her that the show was cancelled, and didn't even give her the opportunity to renegotiate her contract for less money. They were just done with her. Very telling.

Another point--where does she think she is going to work in show business? Her kids are in Wernersville, PA. I love the area (our 2nd home), but let's face it, there is NOTHING there. She would have to move to CA or NY, and there's no way Jon will agree to let her move the kids so far away. I think she's through, and her optimism is due to the fact that she still thinks she has a bright future in front of the cameras.

As far as Kate getting offers from other networks, let's not forget she's 'still under contract' with TLC for some time to come. It is my hope that TLC makes it as difficult for her to work in the entertainment business (provided anybody would even consider her) as they did to Jon. Payback and karma's a bitch. Just like Kate.

Remember, she still thinks she is "ratings gold", and she will expect to be paid accordingly. She hasn't come to terms with reality yet, and she has no intention of taking less money or reducing her standard of living. Funny, she has no problem with reducing the kids' standard of living. They don't get gymnastics or summer camps, and I hear she is taking cereal that is months past its expiration date from one of her Twitter fans. But when it comes to her...NO WAY!

I'm a long time lurker, first time posting on this blog.

I used to comment my concerns about the kids on other blogs. I've said my piece.

Now that the show is at and end, I'd like to remind people that Kate showed signs of her true personality from before she ever even had kids.

The following YouTube video is a perfect example...

That less than a decade has gone by and she has such changed her tune speaks volumes.

Re Maggie and "something in the works" for KIK: I thought this was probably so, too, especially when she didn't get hauled away in a strait-jacket on the day her show was cancelled. But she's been sticking to the "no job" story pretty consistently now on twitter.

I doubt Twist of Kate is still an option--unless TLC has somehow convinced her that them making her look like a psycho on national television is a good career move (which I wouldn't necessarily rule out, we ARE talking about Kate). I do think TLC is done with her, though--there seemed to be a lot of vengeance in their last few episodes.

I think she is certainly talking to "TV people," but I also think that no one she might be talking to could fail to have noticed--and very much more so in the wake of People and the oh-so-predictable "oh no how will we survive" line of crap she opted to use, for the umpteenth time, in that article--the level of disgust most of the general public feels toward her. From the comments that have accompanied ANY mention of her in the media over the past few weeks, pretty much everyone seems to be saying, go away, you are done, just keep your face off my TV/magazine/newspaper.

I am truly dumbfounded that someone advised her to take the by-now-ridiculous "how will I support my kids if I'm not on TV?" approach in order to find her next job in TV. To what purpose? Wouldn't she look better to a potential TV employer as a strong, "empowered" (sorry, sheeple word), optimistic, articulate "leader"-type? Especially if she wants to produce/direct? Granted, we all know that's NOT who she is. But why not at least pretend to project something more evolved than the Poor-Me-I-Have-8-Kids persona that everyone knows and that everyone can see through?

VTY,
Gift of grab

"Also, to answer People Magazine's question about whether her kids will be okay...yes, they will be fine.My son does television appearances and interviews frequently, and we are vigilant about safeguarding his privacy. When will you understand that?"

The problem with the bolded statement is that Kate has allowed these children to be filmed in their house (which should be a refuge) for years. Their most fragile moments have been put out there for all the world to see. Kate has pushed them into the spotlight and held them hostage to her greed and ambition. In contrast you've nurtured and protected your son from the invasive press and public. As you stated he has the "best of both worlds". Unfortunately the Gosselin kids don't have a protector in Kate, they have a mother who has a voracious appetite for the almighty dollar. The tups verbal skills are not up to par for their age group, they can't sit still, we seem them hit each other, scream, whine, and even the twins have meltdowns; all of these things can be signs of verbal or physical abuse. The younger kids actually have looks of fear on their faces at times. We know that Kate deliberately tries to keep them looking babyish in order to take advantage of the "cute" factor. Dressing them alike every time they are out and about it just one example of this. I sincerely hope that the children will be fine but I have my doubts that they can get to that place without therapy and a change of enviroment.

I agree with BigFanofK8's twitter post about Kate buying a Toyota. I only have to fill up my Toyota Yaris every other week, and that is with driving to the University, 25 miles away.

I don't think Kate will get any more jobs in the entertainment industry. She's poison--ratings poison, toxic to work with, AND untalented.

Most people have already forgotten about her even before now. After Monday? Even more so.

It's hard to come back from irrelevance even when you do have something to offer, and she doesn't. I'm not even sure anyone else wants to use her in an infomercial, since she's saying repeatedly on twitter that she ONLY runs--what happened to the Ab Champ, Kate? You said in the little infomercial clip you love it and use it all the time! Did they not pay you enough to keep promoting it?

She's a fraud. She's over. You MIGHT see her mentioned on a "where are they now?" segment on VH1 in 10 years. Other than that, I highly doubt you'll be seeing her on TV after this.

She should have saved the kids' money and lived beneath her means.

I predict by next winter, Kate will have filed the first of many lawsuits against TLC and other entities who exploited her and her family.

The anger over being axed will overtake her.

She will cry foul that she never had adequate legal representation and didn't realize how "she was being taken advantage of" (ha).

She will not go away quietly. She will try to make someone pay dearly for derailing her reality career.

There is something very strange with the timing of Kate trading one car for two. Obviously, she wanted to reward herself with the Audi, but there may or may not be something more here to when/why she traded in the alleged TLC vehicle. Was it a lease or owned, and by whom? Who was on the documents for the car - lease or loan - TLC or Kate. I would not put anything past Kate, she lies, she finagles, she grifts off less fortunate people, but something seems amiss here to me. If I am wrong, so be it.

@Kateplusmy8 Yah, She is doing well but Cara has major issues. She needs counseling. As soon as she comes of age, she'll be living with Jon.

=======================

Sheeple and non-fans are under the impression that the children must wait until they "come of age" to be living with Jon. Such is not the case. In PA, any child has the right to be heard. The judge will listen to a child as young as five, and if he finds that the best living arrangement is with the other parent, he will rule accordingly. The reason for wishing to live with another parent, however, must be valid.

Kelly - I have the same Audi. I use regular gasoline and have had no problems whatsoever. In fact, I talked to the dealer about it (who also owns one) and was told that he also uses regular gasoline, as so many other owners. Maintenance costs have not killed me; in fact, I'm doing better, maintenance-wise with this car than with a BMW that I owned previously. In addition, the insurance isn't eating me out of house and home because I have all of the cars on the same policy as with my homeowners. It does lousy in the snow, however, but she does have the SUV for winter driving.

Did she need one? Nope. An economical Toyota would have served her well if all she wanted to do was to save on gasoline and run errands. But, that wasn't flashy enough.

I have no idea why she would trade the Land Cruiser on a Sequoia. She says because she needed a bigger car. She's really going to notice a couple inches? She's nuts.

Land Cruiser:

Overall width: 77.6 in.
Overall height: 74.0 in.
Overall length: 194.9 in.

Sequoia:

Overall width: 79.9 in.
Overall height: 77.0 in.
Overall length: 205.1 in.

An article about premium and regular gasoline from Car and Driver:

http://www.caranddriver.com/features/01q4/regular_or_premium_-feature

Basically, newer sports cars have a knock-sensor system that can compensate for lower-octane fuel by varying the engine's timing and eliminate knocking. So technically, a sports car owner can use regular gas but will result in reduced engine performance. However, if the car starts knocking or engine woes begin, it's suggested to return to using premium gas.

No knocking, no engine woes (knock on wood), and I use regular gas in my SUV, too (premium required). In fact, in my previous SUV (165,000 miles) I only had ONE repair, and that was front brake pads. No engine problems ever. I'm lucky (so far) with cars, I guess!

In remembrance of 911 here is a poem my son wrote on 9/27/01 when he was in 7th grade. He hated writing, English and poetry, but every year I get sentimental and find this in my desk. His teacher copied it onto "fancy" bordered paper and framed it.

JUST IMAGINE ©
(An original 911 Poem)

Just imagine being a rescue worker in New York City. You’re working in the gray, dusty, rubble piled up in front of you. You have a little spark inside that keeps you hoping to find a survivor, and that spark is what keeps you working as hard as ever. The smell and taste of the heavy air, with death lingering about the air. You can hear the rescue dogs working endlessly to find someone buried in the rubble. Whenever a dog detects something, workers crowd around starting to dig furiously to find something, anything.

I think when she was cruising in Tony's convertible she really caught the sports convertible bug. According to the Toyota website the starting price for a Land Cruiser is $68,920 and for a Sequoia it is $40,930. The difference of $27,990. So the Sequoia is approximately $30,000 cheaper. Of course this is just ballpark and in today's prices. So she probably did have a reasonably good chunk to put towards the Audi when she traded down in the Toyotas. That said she still did not need a third car and she knew it because she has been hiding it. Why not tweet about it or why hasn't it ever been shown in her driveway when filming?

Well, People Mag, should be ashamed of themselves, putting that sorry excuse of a human Kate on it's cover this weekend. 911 should have been on it's cover.
As for Kate can't go back to normal living, cause she has 8 kids, is BS. When I was in High school, I had a friend who came from a family of 12 kids(one died as a baby)so 11 kids, and she was right in the middle. Her Father was a janitor for the Chicago Public Schools, and 8 hour shift job, her mom was a stay at home mom, all the kids went to Catholic school(grammar & High school)paid for that, and they also paid for college, they had 2 station wagons, the older kids worked part-time jobs(from 16 & up) and they lived in a 4 bedroom home. They managed to put food on the table and take vacations in Wisconsin and have an above ground pool in the yard. I think her Dad made like $40,000-$50,000 a year(before taxes). This is a penny in the bucket for Kate, for making money. Cause according to Kate, she could not live on $40,000-$50,000 a year. But you know there are 100,000's of families who don't even make that much and have more or less or the same amount of kids as Kate does and they manage. Just as Jon said. Everything works it self out. Kate wants it NOW!

I bought the Yaris back during the Toyota scare in 2009. Someone had traded the car in because they were afraid of it. It was a year old when I bought it and only had 12,000 miles on it. Because of the scare, the dealer wasn't able to sell it and so they had lowered the price to 10,000 dollars. I swooped right in and purchased it. It is the best car that I have ever owned.

All this whining Kate does about how hard it would be for her to go back to nursing, I call it being lazy. Pure and simple. She is too lazy to try and earn a paycheck that requires more of her than wearing heels and shrieking...if that's possible of her to do that I don't know. But it certainly wouldn't kill Kate to remember the value of a dollar. Jon obviously still pays child support so it wouldn't be as if their children would starve to death if she went back to her nursing job. I guess she wasn't serious about herself working at McDonald's is she had to to support her children, it was all fluff.

What makes Kate's think she is so absolutely special or different from many, many other families who have plenty more kids, other families have multiples? She isn't. She just chooses to be this helpless and it should be an embarrassment for her.

Anonymous said... 198

I've been catching up on today's posts. I can't believe Billy Bush's snarky comment about Jon being a carpenter (which he isn't). Someone should remind him that Jesus was a carpenter.

I'm not surprised that Kate "treated" herself to a plush and expensive sports car. After all, she has 8, count 'em, 8, kids to raise all by herself, so she needs to spoil herself. Of course, if the kids need something so mundane as braces, or gymnastics lessons, or want a treat like a trip to Hershey Park, it's too expensive. And to answer her question "Will my family be all right?" - No, Kate. Your family hasn't been all right for a very long time, and it won't be until you get your priorities straight. Kids don't need life handed to them on a "golden platter". They need security in the love of their friends and family. As long as you keep alienating everyone the kids love and trust, they will never have that security.

I think having a Kate free day tomorrow is a great idea. I'm going to observe it.
