Falling like a Brick, have you ever heard of Tim Bits being ordered as a Baker's Dozen. LOL. New staff member asked, innocently, what a Baker's Dozen was. Management had no idea so they looked at security footage. As you no doubt guessed it was a code for 12 Tim Bits and some mary jane. Nice little setup a couple of the drive thru staff had until they got busted.
BTW the Tim Bits likely are not as you remember. They used to be made fresh in store. Now they are made at Corporate, frozen, and shipped across the country; all with the view of saving on overhead.
Administrator, I'm so glad you shared the true story of that McDonald's coffee lawsuit. Back in those days, I stopped in McDonald's for a cup of coffee on my way to a final exam. Ten minutes after I had left McDonald's I took my first sip and scorched my tongue and mouth so badly it felt like I was being eloctrocuted. I will never forget that pain! It was excruciating! The skin in my mouth peeled and was raw for many days. So add me to the list of people injured by their coffee, yet didn't file a complaint. I'm sure there are many thousands more like me.

BlueNoser, never heard of the Baker's Dozen thing. WOW. And I'm disappointed in the whole frozen 'bits'. Our store made them fresh. So yummy. So I guess after 5 years I'm not missing out on much then.
Oh, and back then, cupholders in cars were not common. The only way to hold it and do anything else was to put it between your legs. If that coffee had spilled on me I would have probably burned the hell out of my thighs and vaginal area. Since I was on the freeway, God knows what else would have happened. I've had four babies delivered naturally, and the pain can't compare to that blistering hot coffee. I'm not even kidding.

Kate's always treated Jamie badly cuz she's only the "paid help". And now that Ashley was being paid, she was demoted to "paid help", too?
Kate has always been a little snooty/arrogant to Ashley, but this trip it turned into demeaning & denigrating.
Kate has always given Ashley the impression that they were friends. But they weren't. Kate was superior to Ashley. As in Owner/Slave. Kate had the upper hand. Ashley was just too young to realize what was going on.
All of Kate's relationships have to be herself as Owner. The other person as slave.
Which is why it didn't work with Sarah Palin. In that pairing Sarah inately had the upper hand. And it made Kate crazy.
Jamie accepts the Owner/Slave dynamic only to a point. As in the pay will buy some subservience, but not a lot.
Jamie & Ashley bonded as victims, and they both care about the kids, Ashley 100%, Jamie as a fellow human being.
In Kate's mind, Ashley was now more loyal to Jamie than to Kate. And in Kate's mind you're eihter 100% loyal to her, or you're out. So she harrassed Ashley until Ashley couldn't stand it anymore, and then Kate said, "Oh, poor me. Everyone deserts me!"
What Kate didn't realize was that all along Ashley's loyalty was 97% to the kids, 3% to Kate.
If Kate had been smart, she would have treated Ashley like gold, as in divide & conquer. How come she LET Jamie get her claws into Ashley? BIG mistake to treat them BOTH badly.
A different take on that...in Kate's mind you can ONLY be friends with HER. There is no room for you to be friends with her AND someone else.
I wonder if Kate was insanely jealous of Ashley & Jamie's developing friendship, thus them both being treated worse than usual.
Another thought...the dynamics are different when it's an adult and a teenager than when it's two adults. And Ashely has just come into adulthood, and has the expectation of being treated like an adult, not like the teenage babysitter.
And furthermore, if Kate is saying that she loves Ashely and they're friends, who treats their friend like a slave?
And puts them thru hell to reach a goal (the Grand Canyon) and then yanks the goal out from underneath them at the last minute?????
Yet another thought...in Kate's mind would it be sticking it to Carla in some way to have Carla's kid having to be be subservient to Kate all these years?

As a nurse for over 30 years, I'd like to weigh in on this. First of all, I don't see how Katie Irene has found the time to keep up with any training with all the hours she spends on Twitter, traveling, riding in her convertible, etc. However, there are Internet courses that can be used to fulfill continuing education requirements. So it's possible, but any hospital who would hire her would pair her with a 'buddy' for a while or ask her to take a refresher course. They wouldn't just hire her and turn her loose. Which brings me to the question of would any hospital hire her? I think it's extremely doubtful due to her notoriety and her demonstrated tendency to REPEATEDLY disregard instructions/suggestions and her inability to perform as a team player. Also, if she's going to dispense medical advice over Twitter, she should spend a few bucks and make sure her malpractice insurance is current.

Thanks Susan for this post. I did think that she would most likely be heavily supervised. The need is great for nurses, but there is a huge liability for someone who has not worked as a nurse for so long. And you are right, I doubt she would be very receptive to someone's opinion or guidance. She does 'know it all'.

That's a nightmare! But it reminds me of a story . . I was several years out of school and relocated to work in a teaching hospital in Texas. There was one nurse's aide no one messed with who is a perfect example of Kate's bedside manner. I walked into the room of a woman who had undergone major surgery (hysterectomy) the day before. The nurse's aide had set up the bedside water basin and the woman was struggling to give herself a bed bath while the nurse's aide sat in a chair by the side of the bed reading a newspaper! In Katie Irene's case, she'd be on her pink Iphone calling her show business contacts!

This is no offense to Hippie Chick AT ALL,(love you hippe chick!) but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Kate gets so desperate for attention that she some day releases a statement that she's come down with some sort of mysterious, rare autoimmune disease. There would be no way to prove otherwise, and she could blather on and on, on TV of course, about all her symptoms and how HARD her life is and how EXHAUSTED she is. I have two autoimmune diseases so I'm not making fun of the diseases or discounting how debilitating they can be, but what better way for poor put-upon Kate to get some badly needed headlines. I'm disgusted thinking about it, but I really can see it happening.
Some days I can barely get out of bed; I feel like an elephant is sitting on me. Wouldn't that get Kate some free help at home? Her sheeple would give up everything to wash her windows and scrub her toilets. But none of that is nearly as important as getting her ass back in the Today Show chair so she can be told how beautiful she looks and how courageously she is fighting back.

Her 'reason' for being a total biaatch.When a few fans asked her if she were diabetic, she would NOT give a straight yes or no. As she does all the time when she lies. I have to address your argument regarding the outcome of the suit against McDonald’s. You note that you are in Canada, a country that is less market oriented than is the U.S. which by the way is the most market oriented economy in the world. One aspect of our type of economy is that buyers and sellers are expected to work out differences in the market place. When a seller becomes so powerful that it can ignore the needs or desires of its customers, despite according to Admin, over 700 warnings, the legal system is the recourse open to the buyer. The award size is meant to be a deterrent to McDonald’s since all other warnings have failed. The fact that Horton’s serves hot coffee has nothing to do with the facts of this case. One last word, historically some car makers have deliberately not corrected flaws leading to death in vehicles, because they calculated it cost them less to compensate for the projected deaths than to repair the flaw (through recall). Slapping on a high penalty has been one way of forcing them to come up with a different calculus.

Yes she does think no one sees or hears what she does. LOL She really thinks we are ALL stupid. Just like the instruction she gave for them to gather up TWO DAYS of clothes. Then said she said something entirely different. Even AFTER seeing this on tape, she STILL insisted she was 'clear' in her instructions to a fan on twitter. i just found it interesting that like everything else Kate just seems to assume that she automatically has nursing to fall back on. Even if a potential employer has never watched the show to see what she is like, if they are from that area they surely would have heard of some of her antics and her apparent feeling that going back to nursing is beneath her... Add to that the possible negative references from her previous nursing jobs and I don’t think even with a nursing shortage it would be easy for her to get hired?

I have to ask why on earth, especially during the week of the 10th anniversary of the 09/11 terrorist attack, The Today Show continues to book the narcissistic, child-exploiting, parental alienator, wanna-be star Kate Gosselin? In a time when the American economy is depressed, with many struggling families losing their homes, unable to take vacations, and homelessness increasing, what makes you think her self-pitying behavior is relevant? Most of the American public hates her, is glad her show is ending, and remain concerned re: the long-term effects of her behavior on the children.
Will this upcoming interview be another fluff piece where she is given free rein to lie about her ex-husband, violate the gag order re: the custody agreement, all while spinning her never-ending tale of how much the children enjoy WORKING on the show which has only served to enrich her financially and supported her rather than the other way around? Or will you ask her how she can afford to own 3 cars, one a newer model Audi, while crying poor and frightened on the cover of this week's People?

Kate's perspective is that Steve "called" the pizza leftovers the night before so Ashley & Jaime were in the wrong for allowing the kids to eat "Steve's" lunch. Hence, she was not asking her kids or friends to give up their food for Steve, she was asking them to honor Steve's initial request and give him whatever pizza was left.
IMO, leftovers get swiped all the time, usually quite innocently. As Jaime said, she had not heard Steve request the pizza be saved for him, so giving it to the kids was not any type of intentional slight on her part. It was a mistake and those happen all the time.
As I wrote last Monday, if you want the leftovers saved for you specifically, then write your name on them. Most times a name is sufficient but you could also write "Save for Steve - please don't eat".
Steve is a big boy and, having two teenage sons, I'm sure it wasn't the first time this has happened to him. He also had access to an SUV and is certainly capable of driving into town and getting himself some fast food. Or, given that he was willing to grill, he could have taken some of that marinated BBQ chicken and cooked it on the RV stove. I don't think the man is helpless and when all is said and done he didn't seem too bothered by the whole thing at the time. In fact, the only one who was having a temper tantrum about it was you Kate.
So suck it up, admit that you handled it badly, apologize and learn from the experience.
And for the record? Jon is a thousand times more mature than you and I'm sure in hindsight TLC wishes they had backed a different horse.

I always thought most nursing malpractice insurance policies continued to cover you if your license was active but you were not working. I could be wrong, but I see your point. Of course, the continued coverage would be to protect the nurse re: any previous incidents. Confusing!! The bottom line is she should sit down and shut up--not dispense medical advice over Twitter. As much as she's talked about renewing/keeping her RN license current, it would be stupid to risk losing your assets if something goes wrong as well as your livelihood if the nursing board becomes aware of her actions.

I used to think that no way would Kate be able to "let" Mady be a Disney star, she would hate that the attention wouldn't be on her 24/7. But if she can't find another tv gig, I think she would go this route. Drop the other 7 on Jon, and take Mady out to LA or NYC.

Thanks of your post. I really do get that was that Kate's perspective. BUT under the circumstances and after finding out they didn't know it was Steve's slice, it should have ended right then and there. She IMO should have made sure the kids got enough to eat of that stupid pizza. Instead she chastised Jaime for them eating at the wrong time!Yes, she did handle it very badly. I just would have made sure the KIDS were not hungry any more. F___ Steve.

Kate's always treated Jamie badly cuz she's only the "paid help". And now that Ashley was being paid, she was demoted to "paid help", too?
Kate has always been a little snooty/arrogant to Ashley, but this trip it turned into demeaning & denigrating.
Kate has always given Ashley the impression that they were friends. But they weren't. Kate was superior to Ashley. As in Owner/Slave. Kate had the upper hand. Ashley was just too young to realize what was going on.
All of Kate's relationships have to be herself as Owner. The other person as slave.
Which is why it didn't work with Sarah Palin. In that pairing Sarah inately had the upper hand. And it made Kate crazy.
Jamie accepts the Owner/Slave dynamic only to a point. As in the pay will buy some subservience, but not a lot.
Jamie & Ashley bonded as victims, and they both care about the kids, Ashley 100%, Jamie as a fellow human being.
In Kate's mind, Ashley was now more loyal to Jamie than to Kate. And in Kate's mind you're eihter 100% loyal to her, or you're out. So she harrassed Ashley until Ashley couldn't stand it anymore, and then Kate said, "Oh, poor me. Everyone deserts me!"
What Kate didn't realize was that all along Ashley's loyalty was 97% to the kids, 3% to Kate.
If Kate had been smart, she would have treated Ashley like gold, as in divide & conquer. How come she LET Jamie get her claws into Ashley? BIG mistake to treat them BOTH badly.
A different take on that...in Kate's mind you can ONLY be friends with HER. There is no room for you to be friends with her AND someone else.
I wonder if Kate was insanely jealous of Ashley & Jamie's developing friendship, thus them both being treated worse than usual.
Another thought...the dynamics are different when it's an adult and a teenager than when it's two adults. And Ashely has just come into adulthood, and has the expectation of being treated like an adult, not like the teenage babysitter.
And furthermore, if Kate is saying that she loves Ashely and they're friends, who treats their friend like a slave?
And puts them thru hell to reach a goal (the Grand Canyon) and then yanks the goal out from underneath them at the last minute?????
Yet another thought...in Kate's mind would it be sticking it to Carla in some way to have Carla's kid having to be be subservient to Kate all these years?

Those disney child stars have to audition just like any other performer. The auditions are FULL of hundreds of kids who have taken dance lessons, voice lessons, acting lessons, elocution lessons... etc, etc. Hundreds who have talent... TALENT.
Which ever poor child kart pushes into auditions will be sadly humiliated when they get the cursory "thank you very much" 2 minutes after they start to sing or dance (and I use those terms loosely).
kart will be furious because she knowingly kept the kids from dance, music, singing or voice lessons, but she'll be mad at the producers, not herself and she'll take it out on the kid.
Remember the awkward episode when she took the twins to a talent agent who was hugely UNIMPRESSED....
kart needs to take her CFM sportscar and drive off into the sunset, heading west to hollywood and give fulltime custody of the kids to Jon.
On her way out west maybe she'll get a speeding ticket in one of those small towns in the desert southwest where they have never heard of her, pitch a bitch, piss off the cop and end up in jail........ because she's 'broke', she won't be able to post bail. She won't have any friends to call to post bail for her, and TLC won't take her collect calls.......

Re Kate's advice on the vomiting:
I have a close friend who is an APN, (Advanced Practice Nurse, similar to a nurse practioner) works in a dermatologist's office. He is not MY doctor.
For a while I was taking a mild antibiotic for a rosacea breakout. I ran out of refills and couldnt get in to see my doc very quickly. (poor planning on my part.) My friend brought me some samples packs of the same med, from her office. She told me she ran it past the doc she worked for off the record and he told her ok. Say what you want about that, but my point is something else: When she handed them to me, she said "You know I am giving these to you as a FRIEND right? NOT as a nurse. I really shouldnt be doing this, it puts my license at risk." She said according to the Nurse Practice Act, a nurse is held to a higher, tighter standard and really cannot and should not be handing out pills and advice in a way that 'girlfriends' or 'fellow mommies' typically do. Any advice out of a nurse's mouth is considered to be medical advice and the nurse is accountable under her license no matter what the nurse's intention was.
I am quite sure that Katie Irene Kreider is specifically excempt from the Pa. Nurse Practice Act, because she gave birth twice and is now divorced. It is somewhere in the fine print, I am sure.
This is a bit of a friend of a friend story, so take with a grain of salt.
My neice dated a man who ran a talent agency in LA (there are hundreds of them...) He told her that often if a kid has a mom/dad who would be a stage mom/dad from hell, they just skip right over the kids. His reason was that there are thousands of talented child performers to choose from. Agents know enough to avoid the ones with problematic parents.
If an agent sends a kid for audition, and the parent is a real ass, the producers tend to avoid using the agent in the future. The agents work really hard to maintain a good reputation. (Not talking about sleezy, shady agents, but real professional agents).
Working with child performers is hard enough without having to deal with rude, obstructive, nasty mean parents.
Unfortunately, what sometimes happens is the parent seems nice in the beginning but once in the business, gets greedy and starts being a stage mom/dad from hell.
Those, the agent says, he can't really screen as they don't 'turn' until after the kids gets the part.
Oh, and of course, the kids have to have talent, first and foremost...
Makes sense to me.
Sadly for any of these kids, there isn't any talent to get them in the door in the first place.
Well, unless they are looking for kids who can flap their hands, bounce on a sofa while giving interviews, hit others and have temper tantrums.
Gawd, it is a shame what she did to those children...............

When Kate Gosselin cries to you that she doesn't know how she's going to support her kids now that her show has been cancelled why don't you finish the sentence for her....she doesn't know how she'll support her kids in the LAVISH lifestyle that she so craves. My dad was a preacher and my mother was a stay at home "preacher's wife" and they supported 7 kids just fine. She cries poor to whomever will listen while riding around in her Audi TT for tanning, mani-pedi and hair appointments. If you don't ask her the hard questions you will be doing a disservice to all the REAL, STRUGGLING, single moms out there who work multiple jobs just to make ends meet. Want to get the ratings? Don't play softball with her, play hardball!

And you do know what her reply would be...she doesn't want to take anything away from them that she's given to them - the lavish trips, expensive toys, big house with leather sofa and pool, private school, etc. etc. Everything she does is for her children and that will be her answer. Remember: for Kate, the details are In the semantics. In the case of K8 claiming she did not snatch food from her children in favor of Steve, she is 'technically' correct (in her mind)....... She told A & J and the kids to "eat the salads and macaroni and cheese", so she really believes there was nothing wrong in her meltdown.
She is without empathy, without common sense, without joy, and without maturity; no wonder she is 'lonely'.
I think most of us here agree that Kate is in need of some serious mental health treatment, my question is, do narcissist's ever seek such treatment? If always appearing perfect is part of their disorder, I can't imagine they'd ever seek treatment because they always think they're not the problem.
You'd think at some point she would seek help for what appears to be her deep unhappiness. Watching the recent episodes, she shows no true enjoyment about anything. The phrase love offerings comes from the practice of passing around the offering plate separate from the regular offering. It is usually done when someone, perhaps a missionary or a particularly needy case coming to speak at a church. People contribute to this 'love offering' in gratitude and a sincere wanting to help someone who is in need.
Of course, with Jon and Kate, they may have been needy in the very beginning and by sharing their story they were legitimately accepting these love offering, BUT they continued on with them long after they were way past being needy and they were just being greedy grifters. It was really very sad the way they abused the kindness of strangers.

I dont normally talk about this,but I lost three friends on 9/11/01. I will spend the weekend with their wives, their children, friends and extended family members to celebrate their lives. Perhaps even go to Ground Zero on Sunday, depending on how the children/teens are feeling that day. I am wondering Kate what you will be doing this weekend to remember? Permanent Name you're exactly right with everything you've said about Mady's "dream" of being a "Disney star". One thing that stuck with me was that Kate specifically said "star". She didn't say "someday Mady would love to appear in a Disney show". Huge difference! If Kate....I mean Mady had dreams of being a "Disney star", than she should have been taking acting, singing and dancing lessons from an early age. She may have a sweet voice, but that sweet untrained voice is not going to cut it. Yes, she may get an audition based on the Gosselin name but she's got to have something to back it up. I don't want to knock them, but I've not seen any real talent in any of the kids. Oh wait, I remember they used to be able to parrot "On this episode of Jon and Kate plus 8"......
Hope y'all can take one more hot beverage story. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I do like my tea. One morning, I was in a hurry so I went through the McD's drive-thru and got a hot tea. I have arthritis in my hands and sometimes have difficulty getting the lid off those cups, so I asked the employee to put the tea bag in the water for me. She told me they weren't allowed to do that, because the water was very hot and they might burn themselves. So - McD's will protect their employees but not their customers.
Just about a month ago, Kate twatted that Cara wanted to be a teacher and Mady wanted to be a vet. Now the People article says that Mady wants to be a Disney star. Which is it, Kate, star or vet? Also - it's pretty presumptuous of us to assume that the kids have no talent. Mady's been taking music lessons for some time and, the few times, back when I was still watching, that she sang on the show, she has a true and sweet voice. Whether it could develop into anything extraordnary, who knows. She's obviously no Jackie Evancho or Charlotte Church, but if she works hard, she could do something with her music. She's obviously stuck with her lessons, despite no encouragement from Kate (Kate said on the show that it was up to Cara and Mady to practice and keep it up, she wasn't going to encourage them because she'd resented having to practice when she was a kid. Cara quit within a few weeks). If her dream is truly to be in show business, though, Kate needs to start enrolling her in dance, acting and voice lessons; think about theatre camp in the summer; and make sure she gets every opportunity to learn the business.

Re Wendy Williams -- I've only watched her show once or twice, but she has been known to put her guests on the spot. Her comment about Susan Boyle was way out of line, though, but no more so than Sharon Osbourne saying Boyle had been hit with the ugly stick. That was despicable, too.
Ashley -- thank you for posting. I hope you have a good year at school and that you are able to maintain a relationship with the G8. Those kids need you, especially Mady and Cara. I imagine they look on you as a surrogate big sister. Stay strong. Prayers heading your way.

Not only that, but Katie is much too busy and exhausted (and exhausted and busy cha-ching!) to do something like nurture an individual goal of a child she gave birth too.
Kate will probably try to claim something stupid, such as she found the sportscar under her couch cushion or left on her doorstep, and that it is God still providing for her. The Almighty is the one who wanted her to have it as a gift for birthing 6 babies at once and for having such a hard torturous life being single.
First time posting here, but have been reading for a long time. I also sent emails to the Today show, but mine didn't sound nearly as good, so I won't repost it. LoL
Couple of things I wanted to chime in with. The McDonald's coffee case. I was one of those that went "she shouldn't have put it where she did" initially. And then my son was burned by a cup of coffee in our house. 2nd & 3rd degree burns and he was 8 months old at the time. No skin graphs, but scars and just a very traumatic time all around. He's 17 now, and is just fine, doesn't even remember it. But that moment completely changed my views on the McDonald's case. Ours was a regular coffee pot and it was put into an insulated cup with a lid (the lid saved my kiddo in many ways), but the damage was unbelievable to see. Horrifying and to know that simply coffee from a home pot could do so much damage made me change my viewpoint completely. Again, kiddo is now fine, 17 yrs old, no memory and the scarring is small and can't be seen.
I stopped watching when they moved into the big house. I had to give up DWTS when she was on it, bringing in Bristol Palin the next year didn't bring me back either. I wanted to scream each time my gossip pages had Kate on them. I couldn't seem to get away from her. I half expected her & the kids to turn up on Deadliest Catch or as the grand marshalls at a Nascar race.
I will say that I did tune in (for a rerun not the first airing) to watch her get her just desserts. Sounds silly, but I kept wondering "who gets 1 piece of pizza for lunch? I'd want at least 2". And was she planning on feeding the kids just french fries? what's healthy or organic about that? old greasy fries are okay but she 'never' eats pizza?
You just know it's 100 times worse for those kids when the cameras aren't around. I hope the PA has a law that says when the kids hit a certain age, they can pick which parent they want to live with. It's a long time to wait, but I can see them picking Jon over Kate one by one. Until she's only left with Hannah and maybe Mady. I figure Mady with probably go with Cara when she books to Jons.
I was surprised by how obvious and blatant TLC was with the RV shows. Not even attempting to hide it or give her the excuse "out". In Reality Tv, it's like when you can see the crew, when the 4th wall comes down, you know it's over & there's something ugly that went down. And to see the interviews with the crew, the crew guy with the screwdriver to his throat, being able to see the crew around her and the reflection of them in the RV during the doublecheesepizzameltdown, all of it screamed "here's your payback bitch" IMO. It wasn't a agree to disagree or a you go your way we'll go ours, nice working with ya...it was an in her face payback and most likely blackballed Kate in the TV industry at the same time. It was BRILLIANT!

And I don't think Khate gives a flying crap about talent agents and Disney execs saying Mady isn't talented. I don't think she would even NOTICE. She reads the criticisms, that is obvious, but she has never internalized a single one. At least not properly. Instead she does odd things like making the kids order broccoli at a lunch that is supposed to be a treat, or claiming they constantly, profusely thank her over and over, or the organic thing. All to fit her weird, skewed view of what a good mother would do.
Sadly for any of these kids, there isn't any talent to get them in the door in the first place.
I wouldn't go that far. Sorry, I'm probably be reactive, it's just that these kids already have enough to deal with from Kate, her mood swings, and her verbal berating. To someday have to come here or hear from a friend that "Hey, everyone on the internet says you have no talent!" isn't something I would wish for them.
Everyone has something to offer this world. Mady, to quote a book I enjoyed: "You is smart, you is kind, you is important." You are your own person and you have the right to do the things you enjoy in life. You do not have to be a Disney "star" or do any other job to support your family - that is your mother and father's job and as you Dad said, there are lots of large families out there and they have regular jobs and things work out. Google the Dilley Sextuplets. There mom worked as a nurse while their Dad stayed home with the kids and things worked out.
If you like to act, Mady, then get involved in your local children's community theater. Build up some experience. But most of all, enjoy your time doing it. That's what matters, not whether the experience can bring in a paycheck for your family or not.

For that basic and primary reason you can't begin to see why it is wrong to make the coffee seller responsible for the beverage once it has left the building. I had never heard the expression Love Offerings. My church just does things a bit differently, usually with a soup supper, tickets sold at the door, in the church basement meant to raise funds for the charitable cause (or the church-member family in need) with a representative of the cause in attendance, (and usually ladle-ing out the soup). There would also be a box set up that is marked "Donations For ____". It never takes place in the church sanctuary or involve the collection plate used during worship services.
I am in my mid 50's and I dont recall a time when a family or individual who was traveling the country trying to raise money for themselves was welcomed for such an event at our church. Just a different way of doing things is all. :))
And where did that phrase 'love offerings' come from anyway? I had never heard it before the Gosselins started using it. I didnt like it then, sounded to me like a grifty phrase for 'charity', and I dont like it now. Had anyone ever heard it before?

Yes. Our church has been using "love offerings" for as long as I can remember. I've also heard it many times during evangelistic services, when a speaker spends a week at a church during special services. Rather than saying they are taking a collection for the speaker, they will announce that a daily love offering is being taken.
Question: I'm just a little bit confused about Ashley's IP. When admin was outing the troll, there was a special blogger program set up so IPs could be traced, and then this blog went back to the original format. I thought it was said that with the current program, IPs were difficult or impossible to be traced.

When there, I ask "How much is this medicine you want me to take? Isnt there something cheaper? Can I split these pills in half to make them last longer coz I cant afford the refills."
My child has a rather severe kidney infection right now and refused the doctor's demand that she be admitted to the hospital. She cant afford it and WE cant afford to help her with the bill.

I think the key word that made the first post offensive is the one that I bolded.
I will grant you that the U.S. Has become a ligitious society and there are "ambulance chasing" lawyers out there.

Hi, everyone!
I saw an Oprah show on children of divorce. They had a little boy and older sister with their dad. The mother had left them and they showed them earlier and a couple of years later.
The little boy was so upset, tearful and said that "he had even bought her a fake diamond ring, but she still wouldn't stay." The sister said she still misses her everyday, but others ,like friend's moms helped her.
They were on again after some time had passed, and the Father was so lost as to how to help.The little boy got tearful again saying how much he missed his mom still and so did the little girl.They still wanted her to come back, even though she never contacted them again!
It was heart-breaking to see how much they were still hurting. I wonder if Kate ever thinks about them not having a dad for the every -day things, stupid me, of course not...Divorce changes who kids are, and influences every choice they make in life.
Expensive toys don't replace people.It bothers me so much to see how much verbal abuse these kids hear, just on the show. They react to it very little outwardly and don't even cry.I wonder if they think this is just part of the episode, not real? They probably are confused everyday as they've lived with cameras all their lives!
They were upset and crying when Ashley was saying good-bye and then Joel asked Steve calmly," Is she going to come back?" He probably thought after they said "cut" that she would just walk back in with things back to normal .
I would also like to know what Kate's blood pressure is. Has to be high as she lives her life being critical and bitchy stomping around.
I sure hope this is the end of filming for the Gosselins'. They all have a lot of healing to do and many years of therapy.

You are right - perhaps I worded my sentence poorly.
First, I don't believe one of the twins 'really' wants to be a disney star. kart said she did. I don't believe ANYTHING kart says. She is famous for saying what 'she' wants, but couching in a cute phrase that somehow makes it seem as if the child said it.
Second, when I said there was no talent to be had, I meant that in a 'serious, marketable talent' way. As in, there are child stars who have had singing, voice and elocution, acting and dancing lessons from an early age who DO have demonstatable actual talent. They study and practice for years, even at an early age.
Those children who would be auditioning right along with any Gosselin child would far outshine her/him becauae kart hasn't made the time for effort to prepare her child for show business.
To be extremely clear here - yes, every child has worth and talent and abilities. Each of the Gosselin children have good qualities. None of them have any training or experience at any performance art, with the exception maybe of some violin lessons. How far along did kart nurture those violin lessons? I'm sure not enough to get the child a role on a disney production.
kart is amazingly clueless about just about everything....... she is unaware, or simply doesn't give a sh*t, that there are hundreds of thousands of people 'wanting' a career in show business who have worked their fingers to the bone (as kart is wont to say) in order to improve themselves as actors, singers and singers.
kart thinks she can just walk in off the street and be famous. She thinks the same thing for her kids. Not a thought has gone in to working hard to learn the craft of performance.
Someone here said if the kids 'really, for themselves', want to act or sing or dance, they should begin in school performances and take lessons and study hard.
That is was I meant when I said there isn't any talent there. The 'mother' has not made any effort to nurture it. None. At all.
My heart breaks thinking of any Gosselin child going to an audition, forced there by their mom, only to find there will be many, many more talented kids who have worked hard and practiced, practiced, practiced.
If kart could step outside herself, she has the money to let those kids take all kinds of classes and training. Who knows how successful the kids could be if mommy dearest would only let them take classes and study for it...
She hasn't done that. She has no clue successful people work hard to acchieve success.
And she has, apparently (in my opinion) led her kids down the same path of unreal expectations.
However, I repeat myself: I have no reason to believe the child ever really wanted to be a disney star, performer, whatever. kart said it, ergo it's a lie. A ploy to keep HERSELF in the media.
So Silimon, yes I would feel badly if Mady read here that I said she has no talent. My message to her this: everyone has talent of some kind; find what you love to do and what you are good at, and study hard and long, practice, practice, practice. That's how you will achieve success.

Under the Boardwalk you're absolutely right that she'd say she doesn't want to take anything away from them becasue they deserve this lavish lifestyle and they're ussed to it. That would go over like a lead balloon in this economy and on the anniversary of 9/11. The kids who lost a parent on 9/11 or have lost a perent in the war were used to having two parents; the kids whose parent lost his/her job and subsequently their house were used to living in that house. Life is unfair sometimes. We deal with it and we carry on as best we can. She has made millions and if she didn't invest wisley? Life is unfair, deal with it and move on. Oh, the paps saved the pictures of her in the sports car and printed them now because her show has been cancelled? Life is unfair. Deal with it and move on. As my grandmother used to say "quit yer belleyachin and do something constructive about it". I just wish that someone would have the balls to say this to her.

Not trying to usurp any of Admin.'s authority, but in memory of 9/11, there is something I want to say. I'm not going to share my personal story because it is not the point.
Shortly after 9/11/2001, I was still reeling but pretty much had my emotions under control as long as I didn't watch the footage of the towers collapsing.
Then I saw a picture of a young man in Minnesota holding a sing that said "WE ARE ALL NEW YORKERS."
THAT did me in. It still gives me chills (in a positive way).
We all (well almost, but Admin takes care of those) who post here are concerned about the G. children and have varying degrees of dislike of Kate's behavior.
There are posters here from all over the world. The countries we live in all have their good points and their not so good points, which may vary over time.
The bottom line is that we are all HUMAN, sharing this earth together. To praise or criticize your own country is your opinion and is fair game.
I don't think it is fair to criticize people, especially those from other countries who comment here based on what you think you know about their country.
Disagree with a comment; please don't generalize about the poster or her/his country.
If you have a specific criticism of a specific person and can back it up (Qhaddafi comes to mind), that's different. But Qhaddafi is clearly not representative of all Libyans.

Well said Permanent Name and that's what I thought you meant the first time. To add to that, Kate can't say that Mady has "worked" in the business for "x" number of years becasue the kids only "played" in front of the camera as kate has often said. You're right when you say that kids train from a very young age to break into show business - they've even got classes now to train your pet to be in show business. Are you listening Kate? Shoka could be the next Rin Tin Tin! Isn't that his dream?! I remember on one Table for 12 episode the kids were studying with some theatre goup becasue they were interested in show business. Kate, if she truly is interested in a career in show business, get her in to as many classes as you can now and have her study the craft.
To Not A Canadian; We often cross the border for procedures that would otherwise have a long wait time here in Canada. That's something we are working on. Some procedures are considered non-essential and are not paid for by our government.People who can afford to, pay for them to be done in the US. Ones that are considered essential in our health care system , whether performed in Canada or the US, are still FREE. Our medical facilities here in Canada are second to none, including those in the US.
I'm not a runner. When training for a marathon can you run only every other day or every third day? I realize she said "long distances" but she never mentions running short distances anymore.

To not a canadian. I don't believe there are a lot of Canadians going to the US for medical visits, etc. Granted the ex-Premier of NL did go to Fla for heart surgery as he could afford it there and it was an obscenely long wait list in Canada.
From a Canadian's perspective of what is reported in the news we do see Americans as a litigious society who appear to sue for any given reason.

What I should have come straight out and said in my first post, in answer to Admin's post about the coffee lawsuit is this: How stupid do you have to be to put a hot cup of coffee between your knees, burn yourself and then sue? Take some responsibility for your own stupidity! The hot coffee was in her care and control and to turn around and sue because it was hot is ridiculous.

It will probably be another 25-30 years before we see what these kids make of themselves.
In my opinion, if they can shake off the maternal narcissism they have been marinating in since birth, they could end up rocket scientists, veterinarians, doctors, teachers, performers, soldiers....... who knows? The sky is the limit, and with their dad in their corner, living a normal life, they could do great things.

THAT did me in. It still gives me chills (in a positive way).

Hey Jude, in your professional opinion, is it odd that Kart, as a NPDer doesn't see her kids as an extension of herself? She was denied treatment because of her age. Had she been here, she would have received treatment even if she couldn't afford.
Yes, both of our systems are broken. Yours is imploding; ours is exploding. I agree with you about lawsuits, though. Many Americans have been calling for tort reform for years, but it has fallen on deaf ears for some time. Could you kindly tell us what freedoms we are losing here in Canada. Our Country weathered the American caused (Fanny / Freddy) recession better than any Country in the G8. Yes, our leader is an ass but he brought Canada through this recession stronger than ever. Our dollar has been either par or above par against the US Dollar in the past several months. Our unemployment is nowhere near as bad as it is in the States. More jobs have been created here in Canada in the past six months than in the USA. If I need to see a Doctor I call and have an appointment in a day or two. If I am referred to a specialist I see the specialist within a month or so; not a terribly long wait I don't think.

Are you aware that citizens of the US are crossing the border to get their prescriptions filled in Canada as it is cheaper. We even have a call center here Drug Store.com that takes calls from the US and fills prescriptions in Canada and then sends them to the US.
I would say our medical service here is very good; if we also have private insurance it is even better. If you have good insurance in the US I am sure you have good medical coverage too. My question is what do those who have no medical coverage do?

Wher I live, for a while, it WAS 9/11. Everyone was more polite, drivers, shoppers, people on the elevator in an office building.
I saw a fire chief interviewed this am who said that unfortunately people forget. well, not all of us. But I do think that there is something in the human payche that has to push things aside in order to to go on (this is my clinical opinion, please don't ask me for references. I am sure that I could find some but that is not the point here).
This whole thing that she feels her kids are entitled to this and that because there are so many I can almost hear down the road when her kids might not get whatever it is they want, "But I'm famous! I'm a Gosselin!" Much like we hear Kate freaking out, "But I'm Kate! I'm used to being of reality TV because everyone does everything else for ME!"

I just thought of the perfect TV show for Kate. I only wish I knew how to make it happen. Kate, being the awesomeist-ish cook ever should appear on Hells Kitchen. Bet anything Gordon Ramsay would keep her around until close to the final round just for the sheer entertainment value. Right now there is a line cook, Elise Wims, who should have been voted off eons ago. She's still there in the final five! She has a personality so much like Kate's that one chef threatened to leave and go home.
On second thought even Gordon Ramsay, as abrasive as he can be, probably has had his fill with prima donnas and would not entertain the thought of Kate on his show.

She wants to be famous so bad that she is willing to do anything. Obviously she doesn't care about anyone else but herself because if she did, she would have quit before all the hate began. I've watched the news about the flooding in PA. I think I saw a carton of organic cereal floating down a roadway with a manic looking blond hair woman chasing it. Couldn't tell if it was Kart or Brownie.
Seriously the flooding in the northeast is frightening. It seems every year the weather gets more extreme than ever before. Has the northeast ever had flooding of this extent before? Thankfully I live inland and up a high hill. If water ever reaches us it will be time to build a new Ark.

I think Kate's only mission is herself! She's doing a pretty good job of accepting charity right at her own house. I wish the Today show would ask her why, with all of her millions, she is accepting gifts and gift cards from sheeple. I'd love to hear her ummmm her way out of that one.

Dollars & Sense I can't imagine a dealer would have let her walk away with 2 cars for the price of 1 without also ponying up some cash too.
Since it is Katie doing the 'explaining' we will never know the truth. I can't imagine trading a used Land Cruiser for an expensive sports car and a Sequoia even if both vehicles she traded for were used. Just doesn't make sense, the dealerships are not a charity they are in it for profit.

I worked for a government agency doling out cheques to individuals who couldn't work due to many issues, one being chronic pain. I admit I scoffed at these people until I had my own bout with chronic pain. Let me tell you that changed my thinking and made me more empathetic towards their plight. Thankfully surgery was able to correct my chronic pain but when I hear those two words together I still shudder. I know and I sympathize. Until one suffers chronic pain one doesn't have a single clue as to the severity; it can take your breath away in a flash.
Further, the bitch from hell needs to stop talking about her nanny problems on twitter. I can't think of anything more professional from an employer.

By the way, to the person who said well maybe it's another Liberty University student impersonating Ashley, Ashleys email was HER NAME. And like almost all colleges, each person there gets their own email and password as another poster explained. Almost always the email name is some various of your name or initials.
So the only way for this not to be Ashley is for Ashley to give her email password to a troll. Which would mean, Ashley would have to know a troll? That hardly makes sense.
