I'm pretty sure Ashley filled her mother in from the road and on the way home. What is even worse is chronic pain with acute pain tossed in the mix. I would waken daily and go to sleep at night with constant pain from the bone on bone in my hip. THEN if I moved the wrong way there was the tearing, stabbing sharp white hot 'acute' pain. I feel for anybody who has chronic and acute pain. It isn't funny, it is depressing, it is demoralizing and ruins your quality of life if you let it. Congrats to HC for keeping a good outlook on life. HC will rise and conquer.
If Carla is 1. normal and 2. watched the show, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind she would have backed up her daughter 100%. Unless she's as evil a witch as Kate, and frankly, that's just not possible.

Bluenoser...I've had 2 surgeries; 1 was pointless. The doc thought it was something, went in, "didn't see anything", & left. Her exact words. The second surgery was January of last year. I had my left ovary removed & everything got worse afterwards. My 2nd doc was AMAZING. He is out of Boston (Brigham & Women's) & said there was a 50/50 chance.
The surgery may work or it may make things worse. Unfortunately, I was unlucky. I'm seeing another doc now. He wants to go BACK in. The new guy is all like "We are gonna find out why!" so I'm hopeful, but he is also the 7th GYNO to say so. And the 100th Specialist.
Anyway, YAWN! I'm sleepy. You all have a wonderful evening! I'll see you all this weekend.

Bluenoser Kate was upset, also, because it wasn't TIME for them to eat. SCHEDULE you know! If a kid is hungry FEED THEM. Those kids ever get snacks? I really wonder. I had a lose schedule 'around' noon lunch or whenever they got hungry. Dinner was always around 5. we did like to have dinner together. But if a kids is hungry before then FEED THEM.
The way my mother was - l cannot raise my hand. I would have been given the beating of a lifetime for embarassing her in front of her friend. Now my sister, the "Golden Child" it would have been a much different outcome.
The pizza thing is yet another example of Kate not understanding child development. Remember as a kid being STARVING for dinner and just unable to even bear it? Kids can't bear their hunger pangs as well as adults can. Adults can push them aside and say I'll just wait until dinner it's only a few hours away, for a kid the pain can feel more intense and real and they are not always mentally and emotionally capable of telling their stomach to just wait.
Further, kids have smaller stomachs and get full faster. So while an adult might scarf down a huge breakfast and be fine until 2, a kid may only be able to manage some fruit and cereal and is hungry by 10 am.
This is all part of teaching a kid how to recognize his body's signals and respond to them. If you're hungry and lunch is only a few hours away, don't make yourself miserable for two hours but select a snack to curb your hunger until the bigger meal, like an apple. And if it's vacation, I don't see why a piece of pizza wouldn't do too.
Oh, and don't know if anyone mentioned this, but as they got off the rafts Kate said something to the kids like you better start walking because we're not eating for four more hours.....WTF????

Let me ask you guys this. I had never portioned my kids food as she does. Not when they got as old as her are. I usually would dish up the food in bowls and everyone helped themselves. The rule was take what you can eat, con't waste it. I never forced 'yucky' food on my kids because I know I felt when I HAD to eat a few yucky things.
If I did serve the places for them, they wold tell me when to 'stop'. I let the decide how much they could eat. Even at at 5 or 7. Am I not somewhat normal? LOL
You can't see how shifting the responsibility and the liability has created this entitlement based society that lowers the standards on everything.

group with other kids, and Kate is on set for the rehearsals, costuming and performances. She
and 4 other mothers give the director attitude
and discontent. Drama is Kate's middle name.
Kate would fit in, she'd be paid, one of her kids would be famous all over again, and TLC or Lifetime would have another cash cow.
That would be another season or two Kate could shop for jewelry and have her Audi detailed.
The only problem would be that Dance Mom folk
travel on a big bus. Downer!

My take on Carla and Ashley. I think they are both fine women. Carla has been nothing but a friend to Kate. I remember her mostly from the
sextuplet's 6th birthday party when she and Ashley were quietly off camera making and hanging decorations. They seemed reluctant to be on camera. Carla organized Kate's new kitchen, and it seemed to me that Kate was unappreciative. Carla got her old cabinets, I
think, but why not? Kate wasn't using them anymore, and they were lovely cabinets. Ashley has been there for the kids longer than anyone
I can think of. I think both women's bones are held together with ethics, love and compassion.
I fully believe they live what they profess as their faith. I'm sure giving is part of their daily routine. From where I stand, I think Kate is blessed to have them around and needs to act like it.
But given a choice between standing up for her
lovely daughter or her never-satisfied friend?
I think Ashley wins. Carla's a mom first, and
she's also smarter than Kate will ever be.
I think neither Carla nor Ashley will spill many beans about Kate. I think they are both too
mature and self-controlled for that. Much like Beth and Bob, I think they will just demur when asked about the negatives of Kate.
That said, I'm SO pleased Ashley can laugh about the Admin's recap. Laughter is so healthy, and shows that Ashley will not be beaten down by this. It makes me confident she is bigger than
the stuff Kate was doling out and she is ready
to move ahead with her life with pride and with
purpose.
Ashley and Carla get big time kudos from me. I wish the entire family peace and happiness and much success.

I call BullSh*t on this. Ashley is not a child, she is an adult and old enough to know she does not have to "come around" to Kate's way of thinking, and clearly said she was done. I doubt Carla wants anything to do with Kate either. Kate probably called Carla to whine and explain her side of the story and Carla appeased her just to get off the phone.
Her BFF Jamie can't stand her either, and has said as much on the show. At some point after the blowout, Kate said she had talked to Jamie on the phone, implying all was well. For all we know, Kate may have called Jamie and Jamie said Go to Hell. So in her warped universe, saying she did talk to Jamie is true. And she may have said to Carla " Do you think Ashley will get over this?" and Carla said yes just to get off the phone with her. Carla knows what a bitch Kate is. She may have changed her phone number after Kate's phone call for all we know.
On a different subject, I am guessing some of the kids are doing the happy dance when Kate is not looking and that puts a smile on my face. Finally, they have been freed from filming, and have the privacy back that their own mother would not give them.
Oh, and I love Kate's comment, "She's family to me." Yeah Kate, we've seen how you treat your family - you either aren't speaking to them, or you exploit them. I am glad Ashley put her in her place. Although Kate is too dense to get it. NEWS FLASH Kate- Ashley wants nothing to do with you and she has told you so. Deal with it!

I too often creep myself out though by "diagnosing" kids like the Gosselin's based on the homicidal triad and that so many of the criminals have abusive parents and homes.

Except for once when she was in her 80's, when her sister, my aunt, stuck her nose into some of my personal business and caused trouble for my little baby grand-daughter. I've never seen Mom so mad, ever! Mom was never one to be confrontational...but man, she sure ripped her sister a new one! And not undeservedly!
The whole family was stunned; completely unlike our mom. Says a lot about how much she treasured that little baby.

My Scooby Doo ears went "EHRGHH??" for the first time when she offered a single M&M as a reward to going on the potty. I wasn't married and didn't have kids of my own at the time, but this reward seemed a bit "cruel" to me. WHO eats ONE M&M? It's like eating one peanut or one Dorito -- it's impossible -- you want a handful -- or a bagful, if you live in my family. The fact that Kate was so withholding in her rewards sent off bells and whistles for me early on... Those poor kids.
I'm thinking Kate is less than interested in the cereal. She would probably have preferred Brownlow give her a gift card for the amount the cereal cost.

It's not the cereal. That's secondary. It's what prompted the purchase of the cereal. Brownie tried her hardest to worm her way into meeting Kate, having coffee with her, meeting her for lunch, brainstorming with her to mentor teenage girls. Nothing worked. She came up with the idea of buying three cases of Sobe at a store that was going out of business. When she went to pick them up, there weren't many left.
A flashbulb went off in her head. ORGANIC CEREAL. Kate couldn't pass that up, could she? She loaded her cart, sent Kate...what was it - 80 tweets from the store, and has been pestering her to meet up to pick up the cereal.
It's been amusing watching this unfold. The cereal is just an organic piece of the drama. It could have been anything - free chewing gum, whatever.

I've often wondered about Carla and Ashley. I know they've been paid in different ways, and as Christians, they try to do their duty. But as a Christian myself, I can only tolerate so much nonsense from a maniac. They had fortitude to stick with Kate all these years.
Someone on another site suggested Kate was suffering from withdrawals from drinking and smoking on the trip since she couldn't do either in her situation. No, I think she's just mean.

Sadly true. I knew a woman about 50 yrs old. Didn't qualify for govt. help for some reason. She had a heart problem. She couldn't afford her medicine. Her daughter found her deceased one day. :(

It's the sad truth. I know a 22 year old girl who is in the same position right now. She doesn't have any insurance, she doesn't qualify for TennCare and her job doesn't offer insurance. She has a blood platelet problem, possible cervical cancer, gallbladder problems and her front tooth is rotting out. She has no money for doctors or medicine and so she just lives with her problems. She can't get a primary care doctor without insurance. I am going to take her to get her tooth fixed but that is about all that I can afford.
My husband is from England and they just don't have this sort of thing there. Sure, you have to wait for non-emergency surgery but if you need urgent medical help, it is there for you. A portion of your wages goes for NHS payments but there are no deductibles and no out-of-pocket expenses. Something desperately needs to be done in this country. People are either going without medical treatment, like my friend, or they are losing everything they own because of medical bills. As long as Congress and the insurance conglomerations are in bed together, nothing will ever be any different.

In addition to my post above, I am also taking her to the local health department to see if they can get her treated for the cervical problem. They can also most likely check her blood platelets as well.

The car thing is driving me crazy. I don't really care how many cars she has, of course, but crying poor and saying she can't afford to send the kids to gymnastics and taking gifts from people!?!?!?!!?!?!
Particularly Milo. Isn't she the one that was so ill that the Dr. was afraid to tell her the show was canceled? Um hello? Kate? That woman has to have medical bills up the wazoo, even if she does have good insurance.
So for ease, I picked the same year for each car because we aren't sure what year any of them are. So obviously these numbers are not going to be exact, but it gives an idea. I picked 2008, because that was my best guess for the year of the Land Cruiser.
I also looked up the MPG information on all 3 and provide that number second as estimated yearly fuel costs. The LC and Sequoia is the same and the Audi is cheaper, but she has them both now, PLUS the extra insurance, maintenance etc.
2008 Land Cruiser (new) $64,200 (starting price). We don't know what bells/whistles her highness may have in it, of course. $3672
2008 Sequoia 34,150 (for low end model) up to 55,600 (for platinum edition) $3672
2008 Audi TT Roadster $44,500 $2346
So taking into consideration that we don't know the depreciation, actual years, the bells/whistles, it is an awfully tight squeeze to think there was a straight up trade with no other money changing hands in the 2 for 1 trade.
I'm very sure Kate could have brought her groceries home in a 2008-9 Toyota Camry or Ford Taurus. The money she would have saved would have at least paid for 1 kid's tuition or a whole lot of organic milk. But never the one to think
rationally, Kate goes for the cool factor. So we'll look at her with envy and awe.

Tizzie - Kate clearly okay'd this woman to buy this cereal for her, and she did. Kate then ignored her, so this woman is out the costs for something Kate okay'd. To this day Kate has left her stuck for the purchase after telling her to get it, and has totally blown her off. This is just wrong. She could have simply said No, but thanks. But she told her to buy it for her. Kate is an opportunist, and no matter whether the twits are annoying, she just screwed someone over.
Yes, the whole idea was crazy, but Kate is a jackass for encouraging a twit to buy something FOR HER when she had no intention of EVER picking up. Who would do that?
Point being, Kate should not be approving twits to do anything for her PERIOD. And then ignoring them. She is a disgusting person to do this, when she could simply say that is a nice offer,but no thanks. Instead she encourages them to buy things for her and then ignores them. Hopefully not speaking out of turn, but we have good people on this site, and we do not like to see anyone used, abused or taken advantage of, as it is just not right.
In addition, she is accepting gift cards from fans, when she could clearly say Thank you, but NO, please donate this to charity. Twits may be annoying, but to take advantage of people less fortunate and tell them to purchse things for you, and then ignore them is disgusting.
Has Kate or her Manager "Steve" even bothered to read the LA Times or NY Times lately? Or ROL, this blog and the other well known sites? No, they have not. Or they would see that thousands of people, even from Facebook, with real names, have posted against everything she is doing, and has done. The hate is right up there with CA. The car finished her off, and begging for expired cereal, school supplies, money and gift cards was the icing. KG, it won't get you very far with the begging anymore. Your kids are paying the price for the rest of their lives for your lies and mistakes.

For many years you were not in front of the camera at all. It was refreshing for TLC to finally start filming you, and showing the kids having fun and given real affection and real love. How hard it must have been for you and your Mother. You are not any of the names she called you. You wee a G-d send to her, and she was to shallow to realize it. Time to move on and get on with your life. Don't go back, and don't look back. You have to think of yourself now. Good luck with your education and future.

How did you do it? When you started being filmed by Figure 8/TLC, I didn't like you , because I believed you thought KG was doing the right thing in the way she treated her family and friends. Then, as a fan, I got to know you and liked you a lot. I would love to have a real best friend like you, not one played on TV. She did not realize what a gem you were, and it is her really BIG loss. You are funny, and you have a sense of humor, and you have patience. Sometimes, adults do need to talk in front of kids. Those kids need to know that their own fears and concerns are real, and that Mommy does not always get it right. Look at the footage again. The child is leaning in, listening to your every word. She is not crying or upset. She looks like, wow, someone else sees what "we" (the 8) see.
Maybe we will see you on TV again some day. Good luck with your future.

I agree w/those who believe that Kate has something up her sleeve. Dr. Glass wrote that K's body language didn't match her words. Maybe, drumming up controversy for Twist of Kate??
If true, "having something when she said she did not" then perhaps she needs to be prosecuted for Fraud. Reference: Twitter account begging, and actually accepted gift cards, begged for food, and school supplies. Saying she was broke with no TV job lined up in the future.
Carol yes that is true when we're on moderation. That was a problem we had a lot, because comments appear in inboxes, on phones, on blogger with the latest comment first, so anyone approving them, be it me or anyone assisting me, tends to approve them the latest first. Which has cause some people to go on a rant about their comment not being published when really it's still sitting in the queue. :)
However, we are on unmoderated now so that shouldn't be a problem. Since I approve 99.999% of comments, I would raise an eyebrow if yours aren't going through and send me an email, instead of ranting and raving how mean I am not approving your comment. It may be a computer glitch on your end or bloggers end or something else. Since being unmoderated things have gone well overall, I only have to delete a few a week if that. So before you freak out, double check with me.
And I make no distinction whether you've been here two days or two years. If you broke one or more of the rules, I assess the comment to determine whether it's necessary to delete it and make the call, Mary Ann makes calls too and we do the best we can and try to be fair. Although this is not a written rule, I also don't like comments discussing how the commentor is bullying Kate and her fans on twitter, as I've made my thoughts very clear on the bullying subject--it's not welcome here. Very rarely, I will delete a small batch of comments that are not necessary breaking any rules, but are causing a huge argument. This is called derailing a blog, so I swiffer to try to get things back on track, but that has only happened once every few months or so.
So the bottom line is, the vast majority of deleted comments you're going to understand why it was deleted. If it makes no sense to you, it could be blogger, which is a very flawed system, or other internet difficulties, or whatever else. Which is what my email is for to ask. I am not "afraid" of comments, I'm just trying to keep a nice environment here. And for the most part, it has been.
