Knox in 2006, a year before the murder of her roommate |
"Amanda Knox is free," an Italian court said today. Knox and her family are in Rome and are expected to fly home to Seattle within hours.
Knox today after she was freed |
Family members say Knox is not even aware of the full extent of the media coverage and they want to protect her from it. How will this young woman adjust not only to life back in the United States, but the barrage of media that is not likely to go away anytime soon?

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 303 Newer› Newest»I think it may have been a mistake for her family to shield her from the reality of the media scrutiny so much. She is going to arrive here in Seattle to many, many people who want a piece or even a glimpse of her. Hopefully they are telling her the truth now so she can at least brace herself. I don't think she can prepare herself, but she can brace herself. I think she's going to have a difficult transition - because many people still think she did it and they will be vocal about that. She's going to have a tough time, even though she doesn't deserve any of it.
PJ, Americans still think she did it? I thought the overwhelming public opinion in the U.S. was she didn't do it.
TIME magazine did a nationwide, state to state poll, and only THREE STATES (Wyoming, Arkansas and Vermont) thought she got a fair trial. The rest of them said no she did not get a fair trial.
Her sister had a statement today about how they appreciate so much when people actually took the time to read up about the case and get educated about the case--i.e. then they realized oh wow she IS innocent. If I were her I would remind naysayers about that little bit of DNA evidence that was, in fact, a bread crumb of rye bread. OOPS.
Going off topic again but this has to be repeated here, look at what Alexis, Martha Stewart's daughter, is saying in her new book.......whoa:
"There was never anything to eat at my house," she says. "Other people had food. I had no food ... There were ingredients but no prepared food of any kind."
Hmmmm.
Yes, the local news boards are full of comments comparing her to OJ. Most people think she's innocent, but of course they are quieter than the ones who want her hung by a rope. I don't know if the coverage here exceeded the coverage elsewhere, simply because this is her home, but it's been a running story for YEARS.
Interesting PJ. I'm surprised her own hometown would treat her like that. Have they actually read up about the case or are they just hating for hate's sake? For the folks who feel she is like OJ, what is their explanation for:
The rye bread found on the knife instead of her DNA?
Not one trace of her DNA found in the murder room, but the killer's DNA everywhere? Experts have explained it's impossible to just clean your own DNA from a scene but leave someone else's--for obvious reasons--you can't see it.
The actual video of the police contaminating Meredith's bra strap? THERE IS ACTUAL VIDEO OF THIS, 20/20 played it several times.
Amanda's Normal Rockwell upbringing, unlike OJ with his history of domestic violence or Casey Anthony with her obvious mental instability and bizarre 911 call? So Amanda hugged her boyfriend after, wouldn't we all? Amanda was shopping for clothes after BECAUSE ALL HER CLOTHES WERE AT THE MURDER SCENE AND SHE HAD NONE.
What is her motive? There has never been any motive identified in this case other than some bizarre sex ritual that the prosecutor already tried out on another murder case.
Not witnesses to Amanda at the house except some homeless man who later admitted he's a drug addict and gets his dates confused.
Rudy Guede, the actual KILLER, said she was not there!
They fact that there is ANOTHER KILLER who is in jail for it, Rudy Guede. It's not like her acquital leaves us wondering who done it. We know who done it--GUEDE.
They have never been sure they found the real murder weapon. This is a case without a clear murder weapon.
I seriously want to know how people explain these things away. I'm just really curious how they explain how she did this.
You know what's not talked about much? There was some time between the killing and Amanda's arrest. So if she killed her roommate either on purpose or accidentally in some sex ritual, wouldn't she think oh shit and get herself out of the country?
If you look at international murders, like for instance the murder of Andrew Bagby by his pregnant girlfriend in Pennsylvania no less, she immediately ran back to Canada the first whiff anyone got that it was her. The extradition hearings took so darn long she ended up killing her baby too. People who are guilty in foreign countries get the hell out. People who have nothing to fear because they know they didn't do anything they were just at their boyfriend's watching a movie and thank God they weren't home or they would have been killed too, stick around and try to help the police. That's what Amanda did.
Admin, sounds like you just described sheeple. HA!
Admin, not only did Amanda not leave the country at her parents' urging (they have family in Germany), her parents begged her to stop going to the police station on her own but she said she wanted to 'help them.' She was going to them as they built their case. How 'strangely ironic' is that?
I must admit I'm confused how anyone whom has heard and seen even a small bit of recent coverage and background of the trial and crime could think Miss Knox is guilty? Not sure of the international and Italian/EU law, but I hope the Knox family can do something about that prosecutor.
And if you want to read about a truly depressing, frustrating and unjust Florida case involving children, tke a look at the King brother's case. Another prosecutor whom should be put into the same circle of hell, along with the Italian one.
I got teary-eyed on that one, too, when her knees buckled. I never did buy the Foxy Knoxy handle they gave her. She just didn't look the part. She looked more studious to me and she spoke fluent Italian that she perfected in jail. I am glad she got free.
"There was never anything to eat at my house," she says. "Other people had food. I had no food ... There were ingredients but no prepared food of any kind."
**********************************************
That's just CREEPY! I'm sorry but...why do I get the feeling this is what it's like at Kate's house, too?
This is where eating problems often begin, in the home. Or at very least from TV and media.
I have no opinion of her guilt or innocence. I do know this..she could have done up to 3 years anyway for accusing Patrick Lumumba. She did to him the very thing she cries against.
I don;t feel strongly about this caset hey way I did casey anthony's. casey's i knew like the back of my hand. This case...so much got buried in the investigation and prosecution mistakes.
All I can say is I hope Amanda is innocent. I really don't care to see her as a poster child for "railroaded" though sine she did make some major mistakes in misleading the investigation.
EM
Gimme,I know it's weird but she gave herself the Foxy Knoxy handle. The media just repeated it. It was what she called herself on her myspace.
EM
P's momma said...
Admin, not only did Amanda not leave the country at her parents' urging (they have family in Germany), her parents begged her to stop going to the police station on her own but she said she wanted to 'help them.' She was going to them as they built their case. How 'strangely ironic' is that?
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
It's ironic and indicative of her innocence. I have never known of a criminal who insisted on talking to the police over and over. She was a kid when this happened, a young, scared, naive kid. I doubt a kid that young is going to have the arrogance to march themselves to the police station in a foreign country where they are just learning the language to "help." A young, scared, naive kid after realizing they killed someone, would that very night get on a train to Germany, park it at their relatives with some lame excuse, and immediately get themselves on the next plane to New York in the morning and home to Mommy.
I find her behavior incredibly normal for a kid her age who came home from her boyfriend's to find out her roomie was dead.
Oh, plus she took a shower before realizing Meredith was dead. You know that's what you DO when you get home after sleeping over elsewhere, take a shower. If you are a kid and murdered someone you don't brazenly take a shower with the person you killed in the next room. You get the hell OUT.
Things like this and Casey Anthony and so on just make me shake my head and people who cannot see what is going on here. People just read the evidence read the facts listen a little. Just a little!
It still gets me her statement that all she could think was oh my God if I had been home I would be dead too.
I just think that is the most normal reaction in the world when someone bad happens in a place you frequent, you say oh my God it could have been me. I find it so unlikely for a cold blooded killer to be able to step outside of themselves and think something like that.
ok admin..i'm gonna try to see what i know or dont know. i would love real facts in this case. i can only find opinion pieces. if you have any links i would be so grateful.
The rye bread found on the knife instead of her DNA? (the knife in her bf's apt? he did admit meredith cut herself on it even though she had never been to his apt)
(hmm dont know. the only DNA from amanda i heard was what was in the bathroom. her dna co-mingled with meredith's blood in the sink tap and the sink plug. as far as raffa's DNA on the bra clasp that amount was too small to be retested so the appeals get that one for sure)
(it was said her life was idyllic but she verred of in college with drug and alcohol fueled parties. she wanted out of her house because her mom married a 27 year old some say)
What is her motive? There has never been any motive identified in this case other than some bizarre sex ritual that the prosecutor already tried out on another murder case. (prosecutors found some strane kinky comic books, amanda and bf could not corroborate alibi, she had written to her seattle friends about her one night stands. supposedly meredith was upset by them. amanda grew pot in the house and there is specualtion of amanda stealing from meredith and rudy being amanda's dealer)
Not witnesses to Amanda at the house except some homeless man who later admitted he's a drug addict and gets his dates confused. (unfortunately amanda herself was the witness. she placed herself at the scene-hearing the screams)
Rudy Guede, the actual KILLER, said she was not there! (he changed that story - of course he got less time)
They fact that there is ANOTHER KILLER who is in jail for it, Rudy Guede. It's not like her acquital leaves us wondering who done it. We know who done it--GUEDE. (would love to hear an interview with guede to see if he gives a 4th version of events)
They have never been sure they found the real murder weapon. This is a case without a clear murder weapon. (the knife in sollecitios apt could have been a match for one of 3 stab wounds. another knife was never found)
so as you see. i have no opinion about guilt of innocence since i cannot find the story online without a lot of media slant. i would love links to transcripts. my biggest issue is amanda pointing the finger at an innocent man. even if coerced..how hard did she fight for him once he was arrested?
i think the verdict is correct though. there are too many unanswered questions to take 26 years of someone's life. i have to commend italian courts for moving fairly swiftly thru this process. i wish it moved as fast for people who HAVE been in jail for decades for crimes they didn't commit or admit too.
as far as amanda not knowing the media attention...i can't buy that. this case has been huge for over 4 years. i think she knows and i'm not sure why her family says she doesn't.
EM
Amanda was called Foxy Knoxy as far back as early childhood when she was a really good soccer player and her teammates gave her the name because she was quick and agile like a fox. Seems like a fun enough, innocent enough name to me. It had nothing to do with anything sexual until the case where the media made it so.
What's been interesting to watch is the Italian press. I don't speak Italian, though with my Sicilian grandmother had spoken it to me and taught it to me, but my understanding is that initially the Italian press portrayed her as this vixen, but during the appeal when they realized all the f-ups in the investigation and all the holes, they immediately turned in her favor, most of them, and were embarrassed by the trial and started clamoring to let her go. They put their pride aside and said we were wrong we support her now. It was just really heartwarming to watch them come around to the truth which I hate to say it I think would be harder for the American press to do.
admin. my only issue with the shower part. did you see the pics of the bathroom? it was COVERED in blood. let me find the link real quick
EM
EM, the family didn't say she doesn't know. Of course she knows she sees the cameras, the people shouting, etc. They said she doesn't know the EXTENT. What they could have protected her from is how big this story is in the U.S. She will find out very soon of course.
sorry...also why would she shower if she saw blood and felt the need to call police? i hate to say it but her actions weren't innocent. she was bizarre and not in a scared kid way. she came across as different. some people do stay at the crime scene and they immerse themselves in the investigation. they want to keep tabs on what the police know. if amanda is 100% innocent she sure did give the cops a lot to work with with her false confession and her conflicting alibi.
EM
EM, I think 20/20's piece last Friday was very fair and went through the pieces of evidence and why it was corrupt. They have done other excellent pieces (one went through every piece of evidence) but this is the latest one.
You can watch the full episode here:
http://abc.go.com/watch/2020/166626
I couldn't get it working probably because everyone is watching it but give it a few minutes/hours.
Many criminals talk to the police over and over, voluntarily, before finally being convicted or confessing. Some intentionally do it because they believe that it makes them look less guilty. More do it because they are sure that they will get away with the crime, and they enjoy toying with authorities.
Many killers shower after committing crimes, yes, while the body is in the next room. They run evidence down the drain and it gives them time to think. If they live at the site, showering can let them claim that they knew nothing of the crime.
Normal analysis is pretty meaningless when applied to this case. What you would do or find reasonable has nothing to do with what a violent young offender would do.
I'm assuming she will just hang around her house for several months, trying to soak it all in. You know, kind of like Elizabeth Smart was just left alone until she was ready to face the world again. No, I am not comparing prison for murder to child kidnapping, but both incidents require some recoup and regroup time. She'll have plenty of time to be informed of the interest her case fostered and plenty of time to steel herself against the onslaught.
I have no idea if she is innocent, but I would have to agree that she is "not guilty" by lack of evidence.
see i think she would know the extent. her parents had to have been telling her for years she has a lot of support to keep her strong. its what keeps inmates strong for the fight. i would think her parents would be saying america is behind you sweetie. plus she reads papers. she knows she was front page news. JMO
EM
EM, she saw a tiny amount of blood. She didn't go into Meredith's room to see the massive amounts of blood at first.
Not to be crude, but as a young girl, I would assume my also young roommate got her period or cut herself shaving, and was making a mess as some young people do and couldn't be bothered to clean it up. I would think, my roommate is so gross and messy, and I would talk to her about it after or bitch to my boyfriend or something. In fact she and Meredith were having a few normal roommate conflicts, maybe out cleaning which is a popular conflict. Amanda noticed some things about the house that was odd but nothing that would set you going crazy about it. I would just assume oh well guess rommie partied last night the house is a bit messy. Keep in mind these are kids.
What else about her actions concern you? Her actions suggest innocence, the cooperation with the police without a lawyer, her insistence she stay in Perugia and help. She bought some clothes because all her clothes were at home and she wasn't allowed to go home. She hugged her boyfriend because normal warm blooded people hug their boyfriends when their roommate dies. Is she supposed to sit by herself and wear the same clothes for a week until they let her back in? Her confession was given after she was asked to IMAGINE possible scenerios that could have resulted in a death, after fourteen hours of interrogation. She even says in the transcript, this is what I imagine IF it were like this.
Confessions like this are thrown out all the time in the U.S., and by the way, the Italian court DID throw out this confession. Even they agreed it wasn't proper.
i think the media ran with the "foxy knoxy" as being sexual because of amanda's actions. she was writing to friends in the USA about her one night stands, having sex on a train in rome with a stranger etc..
also they ran like crazy with the short story she wrote on myspace about a guy raping and killing a girl. i have heard she also discussed the case on her myspace quite extensively but i cannot find that part. just the short story.
thanks for the link admin. i will watch it. i got spoiled on casey anthony's case. Florida's Sunshine Laws are amazing. i read every depo..every bit of discovery..everything. it was amazing to have so much info available and be able to make a decision based on the evidence. unfortunately not even a percentage of that made it to her trial.
EM
I don't think most people expect little ole them would make such big news. She's not a famewhore who thinks she's the greatest like Kate and thinks everyone is talking to her. I think most people would be surprised little ole them could cause such an international firestorm.
I don't think anyone can be prepared for four-hundred journalists trying to get your interview. That's the number they've put it at. No amount of telling her how huge it is is going to prepare her, so might as well downplay it.
Thankfully she is older, more mature, and has lived a lifetime in four years. She will handle it fine I think, and maybe it was best to make her think the case wasn't that big of a deal at home, so she wouldn't be stressed about it.
i could go on and on about what behaviors were odd but to me its irrevelent becasue #1 she won her appeal and #2 i dont know what is media bias and what is true. i agree with the appeal ruling. i just dont buy the "imagine how it happened" confession. for whatever reason..amanda has no alibi. her and her bf to this day have not cleared that up (they dont have to..just pointing that out) and forwhater reason she plced herself at the scence with patrick. i guess i'm just pissed she pointed the finger at patrick and saw him get arrested but when she was arrested she became the victim of corrupt police. what about patrick being the victim of amanda knox?
that's my only real beef. i doubt i will ever feel strongly for her. i agree with the ruling and that's as much as i can say.
when my thoughts clear admin i'll try to think of some of the things that gave me "red flags" of doubt in the past because i do love a good discussion and you are always great for that.
EM
Oh let's not forget about the Italian interrogators telling that poor girl she had tested HIV positive to get her to disclose her sexual partners. That little gem.
It was cruel and illegal and unethical and that girl thought she was going to die, she wrote about dying in her diary.
That is one of the most disgraceful reprehensible things they ever did to her. I don't care if she's the loosest college kid to ever study abroad, that doesn't mean she committed murder and it doesn't mean she deserves to be told she has HIV.
She also testified she was slapped on the back of the head and called a stupid liar. She consistently told the same story, over and over. Most people who are lying cannot keep the stories straight, we sure as heck know that from Kate.
She wasn't given water, she was told she would never see her family again. She was told FIRST by police her boss did it, that's why she finally said fine he did it. She didn't dream him up out of thin air, he was fed to her. Her boyfriend got scared too and started to say she wasn't with him that night to save his own skin, he took that back later. She was scared because her boyfriend was now saying she wasn't with him. I can't find whether the interrogation was in English or Italian, but either way raises questions. If it was in English she's speaking with people speaking English as a second language, and if it were in Italian, her Italian only a few months into her study abroad was not very good. Either way it's suspect.
This whole interrogation was never recorded so all we have of it was what the police claim she said.
The whole thing SMELLS and the court threw it out ages ago.
Oh and literally hours after the confession after she got some water and got hydrated and rested a bit she said wait wait wait it was not my boss I know nothing about him I don't even remember saying that, please don't arrest him.
If you committed murder and you successfully got the police to arrest somebody else and blame them for it, wouldn't you think you just got away with it and shut your mouth?
Instead Amanda said, possibly at the expense of herself, NO IT WASN'T HIM PLEASE DON'T.
But there is absolutely nothing to suggest Amanda is violent or has a history of violence or anything like that. She wasn't cold-blooded, she was a soccer player college student. Countless teachers, friends, etc have come forward to attest to what a normal young girl she was, wouldn't hurt a fly.
Behavior can be analyzed forever, regardless her behavior, no one knows how they would react in such a situation. Look at the science. The fact is, the killer's DNA was everywhere, and Amanda's was nowhere. Absolutely nowhere.
i think she will fair just fine. she has a PR team and I'm sure her family has agents ready to take the brunt of the media calls and choose for her. From what her friends say she was not shy in college at all. I wonder if the experience humbled her or made her bitter?
I'm not sure I want to hear her story though and I dread the upcoming media blitz. I think for Amanda she will adjust. I think she will make plenty of money off of her story and be able to take time away when she choses too. It just wont be at 1st. She will be hounded until she starts speaking for 1st photos etc. I'm sure National Exquirer will keep her in the headlines for quite some time with crazy stories also.
As far as little old her..I still think she knows. This was a huge case in Italy and US reporters were flocking over there as well. She had to have known this was an international story. Anyone growing up in the information age sees how quicky one can make a name for themselves. especially a murder trial with all the goodies like satanism, sex orgies, witch cults and the crazy crap the prosecutor was spewing.
it will be interesting to see how amanda handles the fallout. i wish crime wasn't sensationalized because i feel it hinders fair trials but what can you do. i just wish more facts were shared and less media bias. it would make it easier for the public to accept the verdicts that are handled down.
EM
EM, there is a bogus photo floating around of what appears to be a "blood soaked" bathroom.
In fact, it was soaked in some sort of testing dye the police used that is red, your bathroom would look the same. It is a photo that never should have been released because it gives the impression it was a blood bath. It was NOT, it was a few specks of blood.
The actual video of the bathroom is here which gives a better impression
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n71ZJPBq8uk&feature=player_embedded#!
And you notice a few blood spots here and there that I think most people with a female roommate would think is a leg shaving accident or period. She DID freak and she did call police, if you think you may have to spend all day at the police station trying to figure this out I would want at least a hot shower first.
AFTER the shower she noticed more blood and got more and more alarmed.
Amanda in fact was more alarmed than the police, the police didn't even want to break down Meredith's door for fear of a lawsuit. She was the one saying you've got to do something something is not right here.
i thought she was interrogated for 10 hours...gave up partick when police saw the text on her phone that said "see you later"..she said there were no interpreters nor a laywer. after confessing she got water ..then she signed a 5 page confession after resting and getting water and then changed her story and retract it. i really don't remember much of a fight for patrick but i'll take your word for now because i don't have anything otherwise to link.
the police should have recorded the interview. 1st of many bungles. with everything that you are saying...what exactly did they bring to trial since the confession was tossed?
EM
its starting to sound like the West Memphis Three.
what are your thoughts on that case?
EM
thanks admin, i was just about to post that. i found a link that said the bathroom pics were pink from a chemical that reacts with any protein.
so thats one...cuz i thought that pink was washed blood when i saw it long ago
im super open minded so i actually like when people point me in the right direction. i never understood how people can stick so hard to their guns even when presented fact to say otherwise
EM
RIP, Meredith Kutcher.
EM, Amanda did not get away with implicating Patrick. The Italian courts upheld her defamation conviction and sentenced her to I believe three or four years--time served, she did her time for the defamation in my opinion, major time.
Patrick was FED to her by police after fourteen hours and she immediately took it back. Patrick was a victim, Amanda was convicted for it and did her time.
She had an alibi, her boyfriend's computer to prove they were watching a movie. But the police destroyed the hard drive so it couldn't be further tested, conveniently.
You know I should explain, I think as a student who did study abroad at this young age and have had so many friends study abroad I sort of know how fun and carefree that time can be and I just really feel for her that something that is supposed to be fun and a great way to really learn about a place and its history and so on and get credit for it too, just turned so bad so quickly.
The last thing you think about when having a carefree semester abroad is let's see how I can murder somehow. It has this compelling element of a carefree semester abroad gone horribly wrong, an element of, gosh it could have been anyone, me or my friends. It's a compelling story but it's that woman's reality forever.
Wow, thanks EM, I didn't know that about the Foxy Knox. Rhymes but will haunt her the rest of her life.
To the Martha Stewart's daughter thing, I remember once she said while other children were out playing, she was pulling weeds in the garden all the time. Yes, Martha had big plans early on in life but with the fortitude to pull it off, much of which she attributes to her own mother, in kind. I am sure it was rough being Martha Stewart's little girl and probably still is being her grown daughter today.
found this comment on the video.
I think that we should remember that Knox walked into her house - the door was open and she thought that was unusual.
She also said she was concerned so she made phone calls to RS to say that there was blood everywhere and the door was open. She also tried to call other flat mates !
But instead of calling the police - she proceeded to take a shower in the bloody bathroom...
Even though she took her shower - there were NO FINGERPRINTS found in the bathroom from her!
i do recall the investigation reveiling amandas fingerprints weren't in the house. what do you have on that admin ..you seem to have a good handle on the case.
EM
RIP Meredith is what Amanda has said over and over, KYPastor. This is about Meredith, but it's also about not taking another woman's life too. At least one woman here will get to live the rest of her life.
Oh exactly EM well when I too first saw the bathroom pic I was thinking oh gosh I made a big mistake here that bathroom WAS covered how could Amanda ignore that? Then I read the explanation of the chemical and then it was like OH okay well that explains it.
The thing I found so interesting about this case is that almost every single thing people have pointed to as far as why this or that makes her guilty, has a perfectly reasonable, probable, full explanation.
KyPastor, thanks for that reminder. There was a local story here in Seattle about how Meredith's parents felt she had been forgotten and I agreed with them. It was a media blitz here for years (and doubtful it'll end soon) - but it centers around the fact that a young lady was brutally, irreversibly murdered and taken from her loved ones.
EM haven't read up about the West Memphis to have an opinion. :)
I agree she must know how much attention the case has gotten in the press, in the EU and US. Either she'll be smart, or at least what I think is smart, and do one or two interviews, get some counseling, and go back to her life; or she'll be stupid and try to get as much attention, tv time, magazine pages as possible.
Though people don't want to hear it, there was just as little real evidence against Casey Anthony. Only I think Miss Knox is innocent of murder and Anthony is guilty.
What does this have to do with children and reality television?
EM, as far as Amanda's fingerprints, simple explanation, the killer cleaned up. But he couldn't clean up enough to remove every trace of his DNA from the crime scene. And he may have gotten scared and rushed in the middle of cleaning and left.
Some of her fingerprints were found, in the kitchen. Where they should be, since you know, it's her kitchen. I assume my fingerprints are all over my kitchen too!
last question. it is said Meredith's family is upset with the verdict in appeal. do you think they know more about the case than we do or do you think they know the prosecutors side only? i have ti admit i rolled my eyes every time he called her a seducing witch or satanist. im surprised anyone could have bought that. it was the 1st thing that made me think amanda and raffe were innocent. when you attack character and not evidence it means something. in fact i only began to have doubts today when reading message boards about the case. some people made very good arguments and they lived in italy and had more knowledge than me.
i would make a terrible juror. i go back and forth more than a ping pong ball.
EM
Tamara, it doesn't have to do with reality tv kids, but I don't feel like discussing Kate's stupid meal plans. :) Discuss that if you feel like. :)
I think there are parallels between Amanda going back to real life, and any kid on TV trying to go back to real life. I think the adjustment will be similar. I think Amanda's last four years have been VERY similar to a reality show. Everyone knows everything about her, it has gotten very very personal and private.
EM I think as anyone would Meredith's family just wants justice. They have said also they just want the truth. I think it's hard being that close to the case to step back and realize after a ton of mistakes the person you were assured did this did not. I think that is a difficult leap for them that I would not expect them to make if it's too hard for them.
What I don't quite understand is why they are not satisfied that the killer, Rudy Guide, has been caught. Many murders never get solved like this one. But I cannot imagine being in their shoes and I'm not going to judge how they are processing this death. They were not involved with deciding the case and they are entitled to their opinion. I hope they find peace.
admin the West Memphis Three case will drive you insane. If you haven;t read it maybe don't start. It's very emotional. The 3 "killers" have been released after 18 years on an Alford Plea. No matter which side you sit on on that case it will rip your heart out. I think of that case because it was tried all on satanic panic and it stuns me that prosecutors in Italy tried that one on.
EM
now before today i thought the exact same thing. i mean..rudy CONFESSED. his DNA is everywhere. yet he only got 16 years. where is the outcry for that? he is the only one who apologized so he got a reduced sentence??? at some point you have to wonder if the prosecutor just insisted on going after amanda and raffe after rudy confessed just becasue he didn't want to admit maybe he as wrong.
i wish i knew what the prosecutor really believes. he seems the type to not care one way or the other about the truth. he was overly playing on emotions and fears.
i hope Meredith's family finds peace in the verdict. no matter what they think..the appeals jury did the right thing and they do have rudy's confession. i wish he would tell them the truth about what happened that night so they can move forward. although they might not want to hear anything else. they have been pulled in so many different directions how can they know what to believe?
EM
To "Huh?" I would argue Europe gave themselves a bad name in this case. Sure Amanda was a perfect representation of the perception of Americans. But in their eagerness to get the American, they majorly, majorly messed up the case. Even Italians during the appeal were saying "what have we done???"
You know what this was? Eagerness by a few Europeans to really stick it to spoiled, entitled Americans.....only they picked the wrong case, since this American? Didn't do it.
I think there are lessons to be pulled from it for everyone. I am going to Italy next year and am so looking forward to it, I hold no animosity towards Italians, but do have strong feelings about that corrupt prosecutor.
You know what was amazing? When another student studying abroad fell out her window and died in the Cinque Terre in August, Amanda Knox sent her lawyers up there to help the family get through the investigation. For free. On her dime. Because in the end, Amanda Knox is a good person. And no one really heard about this, by the way. Because she doesn't go around shouting about what she does for others.

RIP Meredith is what Amanda has said over and over, KYPastor.
------
One of the things that hurt Knox was that in one of the first times she made a statement in court it wasn't seen as being nearly enough about her friend who had been horribly raped and murdered, but herself and her freedom.
The West Memphis 3 case was another complete bungle on the police and prosecutors parts, not to mention another ridiculous accusation of satan worshiping.
Tamara..
I have mountains of circumstantial evidence on Casey Anthony - circumstantial evidence can convict the same as hard evidence in a trial. its the same. the trial only offered us 1/60th of the case. sooo much more unmentioned. it's a fascinating read since every piece of info is available online. florida puts it ALL out there because of their Sunshine Laws. Every piece of discovery is public. Every statement, photo, document, letter, email etc... to me they had plenty of real evidence to convict casey and I was pissed at the verdict. :0(
as far as reality tv..i think in a way these public cases are reality tv. we are watching their lives play out in the media so i like the post comparison. i'm kinda glad to get kate off my mind. even though i cant stand liars and love to point out their lies...i need a break from old gimme gosselin tonight.
plus im very interested in criminal trials. i have seen 1st hand people go to jail on false testimony so its something i like to keep up with. i have tried for years to get the scoop on amanda knoxs' case but keep finding opinion pieces. it made me happy to find a site where i can ask some questions so sorry if i hijacked the thread tonight.

EM
tamara..doesn't the WM3 case make you insane? I cannot believe there wasn't more coverage when they were released. it seems casey and amanda get the media coverage this year.
i mean look at the similarities
1. false confession
2. no evidence at the crime scene of the arrested but hair and dna of someone else at scene
3. satanic panic
4. media bias in trial
5. calling killings satanic and sexual ritual
6. falsified rumors of the killings. (too heavy for this posting)
EM
The Troy Davis case is another than will just tear at your heart and want to make you tear at your hair.
Emotional and psychological trauma of what happened and is still happening to Knox versus the 8 Gosselin kids is interesting. Especially over how the media will play into it with Knox and her family for the next year or two.
Hopefully money, attention and fame won't end up adding to what has already happened with Knox and family.
And I'm happy to discuss nearly anything other than Kate's diet habits and food photography :)
hmmmmmm.
OT - matrha daughter and no food.
SOUNDS JUST LIKE KATE - CONTROL FREAK ALL THE WAY!
that will bite her in the ass unfortunately.
as far s kates meal plan.. i havent read but i always take everything she says with a huge grain of salt. she 90% bullchit so i dont know if i even believe she eats what she says she does or packs in her lunches what she claims.
i cannot stand liars. her life would be so much easier if she were honest.
what bugs me. she's an Aries like me. we are KNOWN for being HONEST, direct, impulsive, organized, impatient, managers and always willing to fight for the underdog. it is said an aries will do anything for their children. hmmmm. it is said jon and kate are both aries. that bugs the crap out of me because i just don't see the good traits in her. i do see the bad ones but still - an aries is rarely malicious. i guess when they are though they REALLY are.
EM
i feel badly that im not as compassionate for amandas case as i am the WM3. i guess its the patrick thing (but weird i can forgive jessie for his false confession in WM3)
i guess deep down im tired of seeing the young girl get all attention while guys like WM3 suffer.
when damien was sentenced to death her didnt go to DR right away. he was put in general population and raped and brutalized. where is his story on all the major networks?
i need to let go and let amanda have her freedom without scrutiny. i just look at her jail (nice) and how she will be treated as a celeb now and i feel for the men who come out of prison exonorated but penniless and no one cares about their story.
the more i am reading is taking me back to not guilty on amanda. i just need to get over my issues of the others who have suffered much longer injustices. i think it is clouding my happiness for her and stopping me from putting myself in her shoes, which i should.

Here are some other eerily familiar quotes from Alexis about her mom Martha. See this is the kind of book that happens when a narcissist's kids grow up:
"Martha does everything better! You can't win!
(Kate has to win, always, even when it's her own kids. No never means no, per her own words.)
"Whatever I serve, she'll sip it, taste it, make a face and push it away."
(Kate won't eat the things her children make, per her own words)
"A woman lived near us when I was little, had married someone very wealthy and very unattractive, and my mother actually told me when I was a small child, 'Now Alexis, if this ever happens, you make sure you have sex with somebody else to have their baby. Don't have his baby.'"
(Kate is shallow and image obsessed)
"Mother always peed with the door open. I remember saying, 'You know, now I have friends over! You can't do that anymore! It's gotta stop! My friends' parents don't do it! Give me a break here! I don't feel like being embarrassed! It's exhausting! I'm a kid! Stop!'"
(Kate has done many things to embarrass the kids but doesn't seem to realize, for example flagging down the cupcake guy in D.C. to give him a cupcake while the kids were in the background looking less than amused)
And weirdest of all? She says her mom's not angry about anything in the book. Sounds like Martha either thinks she's right so no skin off her back if someone suggests otherwise, she sees nothing wrong or embarrassing, she doesn't "see other people" or care what they think. Much like Kate oblivious to the world and people's perceptions.
Controlling your kids to the last possible detail, in the end I believe will only destroy them. I see Kate doing this with her kids. They have to match, they go in groups, there is no individuality.
Kate controls who see's them, including when Jon gets to see them. She controls what they eat, especially proportion wise and she most certainly controls what they wear from what I see.
You cannot run your kids lives for them forever. They will grow up eventually. You chose to control them with food and how and when to do things, you are going to create weak adult who can't make a single decision on their own. Her kids will falter when they have to make a decision be it on food and clothes without mommy breathing down their necks.
Kate's screaming she's in control and that's never going to change tells me she truly believes that. And she couldn't be more wrong.
I speak from experience, yet at risk of ever being called fake, just know that how you treat kids, how much you try to control them and think it is good--it will eventually blow up in your face and often times for the worse of things.
Kate, Martha Stewart, the mom down the street it does not matter. What will matter in the end when your kids are grown and gone is that you are able to give them the ability to function and decide for themselves. And I don't see Kate giving her kids that chance. It breaks my heart to think she's that controlling. Why? What good in the end is it going to do? Make Kate awful proud I believe to have her kids call her for every little thing when they hit 18 and up. Oh yeah, she'll be proud I believe that and it's sick.
You know this whole Martha not being mad about the book.....I have a feeling Alexis will get a surprise come when it's time to read the will. Or something other will happen that will really screw her over.
Narcissist are sneaky and diabolical, being nice to your face while plotting to bring you down.
DWTS was indeed great tonight, just catching up with it. These people's stories are real and compelling.
Can I just say that I love Chaz so much more as a man? :)
Speaking of bellyaching about the paparazzi and making it your pathetic life story, did anyone see Andy Rooney's final sendoff? I was never all that interested in his segments but I didn't hold it against him. But boy did he make himself seem like the biggest a-hole in his final interview. He went on and on and on about how much he hates being famous, how he will refuse to give anyone an autograph, bragged about how he grew up rich and had every privilege, bitched about past employers who are dead and can't even defend themselves, even calling one downright LAZY (wtf!), complained about people who send him fan mail and how anyone who would write a letter to him essentially must be a freak (a big wtf, isn't his whole schtick about communicating with the audience?), and his very last word to his audience??? Was if you see him in a restaurant please don't bother him. Well, pardon me, I wasn't going to!
Oh, and he said he doesn't thank people often! Why not? Why not thank people daily and be grateful for your charmed life?
Andy? Get over yourself!!! I've never seen such a spoiled ungrateful diva in a 90-something year old man. I couldn't believe my ears. GOODBYE!
Marie, the Martha Stewart story is basically Kate's story with just some minor variations, isn't it?
Interesting how with these crazy parents everything boils down to the same themes.
Oh because it hasn't been said yet, but I give it three days before TLC is offering this poor girl a reality show.
I couldn't help myself this tweet made me laugh:
"Hey all! Where you all at tonight??"
Oh I don't know Kate, taking care of our families, getting ready for the next day, watching what's really going on in the world as a young woman got her life back today, holding our loved ones close. And losing interest in you, fast.
"Can I just say that I love Chaz so much more as a man? :)"
Me too. America is starting to grow up.
Chaz was born to be a man. I made the mistake maybe of saying that in front of my 15-yo son and had to explain it. I told him that sometimes rarely a person is born with hormones from both sexes and when they get older, they can make the decision to go with the more prevalent hormone in their body, be it male or female and in Chaz' case male and that a doctor can help them do that if they choose. I dunno.
He chose the perfect song that just happened to be written by his dad and it was nice to hear Sonny again. Chaz' voice is just like Sonny's. I wonder if he ever thought about a singing career, or writing songs.
I thought he danced well but just can't do the moves because of his weight -- being more cumbersome to him because he is not that tall. I think he would be a good candidate for a lap band procedure.
Has anyone seen Cher in the audience? They keep showing his "party" there but if one of them is Cher, I don't recognize her.
I just want to add more thing, about the food in the Stewart home. I had a neighbor once who had a teenage son who came home to an empty house every day, that was stockpiled with food as compared to mine.
He would come over almost tearful that he was hungry and had nothing to eat. I said why not, I know you got all kinds of food over there. He said that she had everything lined up so she could see if anything was missing, and that he was not allowed to help himself to anything.
That was very sad to me because she got home from work much later than me and I flew into cooking the minute I got home. Needless to say, he had dinner with us often. I didn't like her so much after that.
I guess what I am trying to say is that mother's controlling kids with food is not as uncommon was one might think and is most likely, in my opinion, a generational type of thing.

Martha Stewart also peed w/ the door open when Alexis had friends over! HUH?? Who does that???

I am so happy to see Amanda finally freed. It will take some time, but she will adjust and soon become the media darling that Casey Anthony thought she would be.
The news about Amanda Knox is very different in Europe vs America .. I think there are tons of people (who are not just forming their opinions with reading/hearing media coverage) who believe she does have a roll in the murder of Meredith as well as there are tons of people who do believe she is innocent.
I think Amanda should feel very lucky to be American, cause a lot of high influence American people believe in her innocence.
Gimme, it sounds like you did a good job explaining Chaz's situation. It's hard to a 15 year old boy or girl to wrap their heads around the idea if they are not going through it or don't know anyone who is.
I don't know that Chaz's heart is really in DWTS. I get the feeling he is under even more pressure than the others because let's face it, he's put himself out there for the critics of his life and those who put him on a pedestal as the poster child for GLBT. With what his body has gone through, I think it's amazing this challenge he's taken on. I wish Cher was there to support him and am pretty surprised she has been absent.
I mean, look at David and Courtney. Marriage has fallen apart and Courtney is there for David, and their daughter.
Kate and Jon could take a cue. I find myself really pulling for David because he found himself going off the tracks and pulled it together. Did you see his abs? Yowza! nice....

*******
Oh you know it! I picture Martha sneaking up to her daughter's house, lighting a bag of dog shit at her doorstep, ringing the bell and running away.... cackling all the while.
Martha is an enigma to me and I'm sure many others. She has created a domestic empire yet oozes not one iota of motherly softness. She has managed to survive a reputation of being a horrendous bitch, a perfectionist, an inside trader and the pokey to emerge smelling like a rose.
Go figure.
In my mind, I am hoping that Cher is there and has asked not to be filmed to keep it from becoming about her, and she may make him more nervous as well. I think her sister is there for sure and he has a large group. I think it would be great if she just showed up for one of the rehearsals at least. Talk about making a splash. I hope she hasn't waited too long, because I gotta feeling this will be his last.
Did anyone notice that there were other burn victims in JRs group? A true hero. I think he might win.
I agree about David, he called when he said he was a bit silly, but complex as well. You can see that.
Martha is must plain and simply good at what she does and takes no prisoners along the way.
Just one quick comment before I run out the door to do my mediocre errands!
EM, I too am an Aries. And one thing I read a long time ago about us is "Aries fire burns hot, but Aries ice burns hotter" - maybe that doesn't ring true in your life but it does in mine.
I am very interested in reading Alexis Stewart's book! I will have to add it to my library list.
I'm also interested in reading Alexis Gosselin's book someday too - snark!
Ironically, I had never heard of Amanda Knox before yesterday. Not sure how I missed news about that case! Now I'm curious and want to learn more about it.
I don't know why this comment from Ken Burns made me snort my OJ this morning:
“Reality tv is like dog droppings in the street. You just try to avoid it and keep going with what you're doing.”
After reading several books regarding Amanda Knox, and following the trial (and appeal) closely, I truly believe this girl was innocent of everything, other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time and being railroaded by a corrupt, over-zealous prosecutor.
The "evidence" against her did not hold up - as shown now by the jurors and judges who released her and the ex-boyfriend. Trust me - if there were ANY evidence that supported Knox and Sollecito's guilt - the appeals court would have upheld their conviction without a moment's hesitation.
Meredith Kercher's killer is in jail - albeit only serving 16 years - but putting an innocent couple in jail for her murder will not bring her back. Justice has now been done in this case, I believe.
I have never been able to stand Martha Stewart. I don't think she is nearly as 'talented' as she thinks she is and if I go into a store that carries her brand, I just walk right on out and go elsewhere. This woman has had life handed to her on a silver platter, she lied, she went to prison, she walked out and picked up her life right where she left off. She disgusts me.
Welcome home Amanda.
I know there isn't time in this lifetime to count all Kate's lies, but just in the short time I've been reading her tweets and "fitness" blog, she ..
runs every day
runs every other day
runs on a treadmill
never runs on a treadmill
loves running in the rain
hates running in the rain
If she were really an "organized" person, she'd be able to keep all her lies straight. In a notebook with color-coded tabs.
food lies I've told
fitness lies I've told
Jon lies I've told
Just a little helpful hint to get you started Katie! You're welcome!
New post is up in the wonderful world o' Kate. No pictures with this one. (yes there is an exclamation point in the title)
Just Another Day in Mommy Paradise!
So this morning started just like any normal morning in our house…
Alarms rang at 5:55 am, kids got dressed, and came downstairs for breakfast. They greeted their mommy who was “sorta dressed”, that is if you consider sweat pants, a warm pajama top and a zip up hoodie, dressed! Not to mention the sorta up and sorta down and mostly all around hair that I was sporting at that hour!
Everyone found their seats and awaited their pancakes and juice and a half of a banana if they wanted one. At this point, the timer was set and the green bar was lit up…. In 20 minutes, the yellow, then red light lit up with a warning that “time is up!” Once we see red, we know it’s time for teeth brushing, hair brushing and socks, shoes and jackets…. Then we head to the BBB (big blue bus)!
Somewhere in there, we wrestled Mady and Cara down the stairs – who are increasingly difficult to rouse, figured out something they will tolerate for breakfast, broke up a few slight food arguments from the little kids, encouraged the infamously slow ones to hurry up (you didn’t hear me say Alexis’ name, did you?), and quieted all the screams and squallor that occur between the kitchen and the ever so patiently waiting BBB!
Finally, as we eeked ever closer to leaving for the bus stop late, the last child hurried toward the van as I impatiently beeped a warning… and then off we go! (Again, I did not mention Cara’s name, did I? No, of course not!)
After calling out today’s bus seating assignment to the little kids, and handing them their back packs that surely weigh more than they do, they loudly boarded the bus in their usual disorganized fashion!
I hug and kiss each one – not once – but twice and send them off for another day of brain filling instruction! Knowledge is power, after all!
Whew! Now the momma’s day begins! Running, laundry, and bill paying and making dinner.. Oh my, just to name a few things we moms do!
And before you know it, it was time to head to the bus stop to collect the now tired, cantankerous, disheveled, kids who come spilling off the bus! Funny, seems they all belong to me!
Today, I received an extra treat as I was handed a PAPER bag of vomit from the bus driver while I watched a sad sickly Hannah deboard the bus!
I moved into quick action to contain the vomit in a plastic bag while my other children swore she had the plague and insisted I place Hannah not anywhere near any one of them for the ride home. Um, okay, that’s where I took control and told them that they had two choices: ride in their seats or WALK home. Not surprisingly, each one decided that the plague was bearable for the ride home and opted to ride! Shocked? I’m not!
Upon returning home, I quickly threw a delicious dinner together that the kids rated a nearly perfect “10″ (yes, recipe for my version of family “yummy stuff” coming soon) and ran off to collect more kids from after school activities!
Finally, at 7 pm I think I could breathe again as I conducted showers, homework and bedtime routine…
Not sure why I’m writing this now….. Shouldn’t I be sleeping???!!!!!!

Thanks for the Amanda information and links.

Actually, only if Amanda wants to be a media darling -- otherwise I hope the media gives her some peace.
I do like the idea of her taking attention away from CA.
That entry from Kate's blog about her day sounds so unreal. She makes herself sound like June Cleaver.
Casey Anthony is going to be so pissed. Amanda Knox will be on every talk show and write a book and probably gets the money from the rights to a movie. That's if she wants to. I will watch and I will buy her book. She's not only aquitted, but she is innocent. CA is not innocent but aquitted and no one wants to hear a word she says. JMO

That's okay. I thought if I read it a second time maybe it would sound more credible. It doesn't.
She must work for hours coming up with these delusions ... I mean posts. LOL
My home page is BBC News, so most of the coverage I read of the Knox case came from there. I found their coverage to be fairly impartial, recognizing both the errors made with evidence and Amanda's "strange" behaviors. Based on the lack of credible evidence before the appeals court, Amanda and Raphael have received a fair judgement, in my view. However, I do understand why the detectives and prosecutors latched onto these two as suspects in the first place. There is surely a side to Amanda that is the wholesome. do-gooder that her family recognizes, but it seems to me that those strange behaviors would be easily explained by the suggested drug use and partying we also heard of. Did she commit the murder? Most certainly not. Is she an innocent? Not likely either....
Just my opinion.
Uh, oh- he, he, he...
Hollybaby has a new article up-
Kate Gosselin’s Kids Are Begging For Daddy Jon Gosselin Because ‘Mommy Is Mean’!
http://www.hollybaby.com/2011/10/04/kate-gosselin-kate-plus-8-jon-gosselin-kids/
Sheesh, does anyone need to have their vomit broadcast in any media? No. Poor kid.
The only thing that rings true is Kate yelling at the kids that they'd have to walk home if they didn't want to sit near Hannah.
And when will those kids graduate to a whole banana? I've seen toddlers polish them off.
Knowledge IS power, not exclamation points. The happiness and excitment that Kate thinks she is conveying in no way comports with hours and hours film footage and a plethora of photos.
Has anyone seen "cantankerous" kids when Jon picks them up?
Is it against Gosselin law to eat a whole banana? Is that on the G kids' bucket list? To eat one whole banana at a sitting? Good grief.
Tucker's Mom said...
Sheesh, does anyone need to have their vomit broadcast in any media?
___________
I don't believe a thing she writes.
Do school buses not have trash cans anymore? What bus driver holds onto a bag of vomit so they can hand it off to the parent?
She has all day to make this stuff up and still can't make it believable? No wonder she doesn't have a job yet. She's just not that smart!
You know Kate can't even keep her stories straight in a story she writes that is right in front of her.
I am also disturbed that she apparently sets a timer for the kids breakfast.
Also, the number of times she calls out specific children in an "aside" kind of way to make it "cutesy" is just another way too much info type thing. I hope that Jon is watching these posts and can talk to the Judge about this stuff.
First she says everyone came down and took their seats to await breakfast. The she says they had to force Mady and Cara to wake up and get ready.
She says they are having pancakes and a 1/2 banana (seriously can't they have a whole freaking banana by age 7 and 11), but then later says she has to find something Mady and Cara will eat. I thought you got what you got and you didn't complain or whatever her motto is. Plus, she isn't a short order cook and she doesn't do dietary restrictions and all her other little throw away comments she has made over the years.
When have we ever seen her hug/kiss any of those kids other than that one photo op at the bus stop so not buying the whole "not once buy twice!" line.
Why would the bus driver hand her a bag full of vomit?
If Hannah was ill the first thing she did when she got home was make a dinner (no mention of taking care of Hannah or Hannah not eating because she was sick) that they all ate (and it was a "10" of course), but then she had to go pick up kids from after school activities, after she had already picked them up at the bus and they complained about having to sit next to the plagueridden Hannah?
Why would you have dinner if the kids were not home?
Then by 7 she was ready for showers, homework etc. So what time does the bus pick up happen again and then she cooks dinner and feeds the kids and picks up the other kids that have now mysteriously been left behind and it's only 7pm, which is 1/2 hour before they supposedly are in bed and that is enough time for showers, homework and bedtime routine?
That whole blog seemed like a putdown of her kids. It's like Kate was saying "see what I have to put up with? Aren't I wonderful for dealing with these kids?"
nd quieted all the screams and squallor that occur between the kitchen and the ever so patiently waiting BBB!
___________________
Does she mean squalor, which means filthy or dirty? What word is she looking for here? If she doesn't know the meaning or spelling of a word, it's best to find one that she does know.
So they ate dinner and she drove back to school to pick up the kids who stayed for after-school activities? I guess this was the babysitter's day so she didn't have to leave the other kids at home! Obviously, then not everyone spilled off the bus, or rated her dinner a nearly perfect 10 if some of them were missing!
Something makes no sense here. Why would the kids come home on the regular bus, and the other kids stay at school? Why not have everyone stay at school and take the late bus? She says she was home at 7 p.m., which means she would have left to pick up the kids at 5 p.m. Why not just have all of the kids get the late bus home?
Unless the after-school activities weren't at school, but rather something in her area.
" and quieted all the screams and squallor that occur between the kitchen and the ever so patiently waiting BBB!"
************************************************
Pardon the snark- uh, what is squallor?
Is it possible that she meant squalor?
I thought squalor means living in dirty and unpleasant conditions...
Kate, please. At least have a pocket dictionary nearby.
So what time does the bus pick up happen again and then she cooks dinner and feeds the kids and picks up the other kids that have now mysteriously been left behind and it's only 7pm, which is 1/2 hour before they supposedly are in bed and that is enough time for showers, homework and bedtime routine?

We are not supposed to post school schedules here, or bus schedules, but what she wrote is very confusing and the timing is way off. She didn't say that she went back to school, only that she collected kids from after-school activities. Anything going on in the community when school is over would be "after school."
"Squallor"...I think she meant "squalling" = cry noisily and continually.
P.S. BM says that there are 10 of us here who comment 300 times under different names. So that was comment #1 for me. I'm getting ready to make 29 more posts under 21 different names, LOL.
Running, laundry and bill paying takes nine hours How many bills does she have? Maybe she needs to set up online bill-paying accounts! I thought she has a laundry girl!

It was a rhetorical question. I was just pointing out that her time line didn't make sense and she several times states (at least in essence) everyone is there, but then backtracks and has some of the children off doing other stuff.
So either she is lying and is so bad at it she can't even keep it straight when it's right in front of her on a page or she is a horrible storyteller or both.
My money is on both.
Kate is a liar!
The sole purpose of that post she did was to explain why she was yelling at her children at the bus stop.
She was trying to come up with a plausible story that would go along with the pics. Took her quite a few days to think something up too.
Notice before Kate opens the van door that both her hands are empty. She is not holding a bag of vomit anywhere. Nor is she getting a plastic bag out of her van to put the vomit in.
When would she have retrieved a plastic bag and thrown in the vomit? Why was the door still closed to the van? None of it adds up.
I don't believe that story for one minute.
Here are the pics:

Yes, I know. You're right (according to the school/bus schedules). The timeline makes no sense at all unless she didn't go back to school, but rather collected them from some other activity that was close by.
The kids are off television, but she still cannot give them privacy, and has to write about one of them vomiting; the slowness of others, etc. etc., even giving names. Geez, Kate, give them a break!
The sole purpose of that post she did was to explain why she was yelling at her children at the bus stop.

Kate didn't confirm when the angry photos were taken, or what day she is writing about in her blog. It could be two different days, which would explain why she wasn't holding a vomit bag in the photo. Why would you think this is an explanation of why she was yelling at the bus stop? Am I missing something here?
The website won't be updated for long. What's she getting out of this? Not a hell of a lot. She's enjoying the ego stroking from some of the emails she gets. She's somewhat enjoying gifting her fans with the occasional blog entry. But that's it.
And it'll be clear to her before long, if it isn't already, that she really doesn't have that many fans. She went from a nationally broadcast TV show and occasional appearances on national talk shows to nothing but twitter and a totally lame website.
For a narcissist, that's a HUGE drop in ego supply. I have no doubt her moods are worse than ever and her behavior is worse than ever.

My OPINION is Kate posted that story to explain those pictures. No other reason.
Kate obviously felt she needed an "explanation" in response to the media posting pics of her yelling at her children and claiming she was being mean to them.

I don't believe those are the same day. All of the kids are shown in the pictures. Didn't she eventually say some were involved in after school activities and needed to be picked up later? No telling with Kate, though. She's more interested in purple prose than in actually telling an anecdote.
What makes me scratch my head over her story is that the kids have assigned seating in the BBB,
in the school bus and around the table. I would have to wonder if they are sitting in birth order.
The poor kids who were not singled out...yeah, right. Great way to handle that, Kate. Ugh.

FROM KATE'S BLOG TODAY:
Just Another Day in Mommy Paradise! October 4, 2011

Oh for the love of Benji!
Even the very first paragraph has to be all about HER!

Yes, it is speculation on my part, but it is based on Kate's history. Yes, I could be wrong, but I really think Kate posted that in answer to why she was yelling at her children in the photos. Maybe a fan will ask her and she can clear that up.

She was all "talk."
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/04/kate-gosselin-refuses-to-meet-haters_n_994316.html
Even though Kate Gosselin issued a challenge asking her haters to get to know her before judging her, the mom of eight has turned down the opportunity to win over such a person on Mario Lopez's new hit show, "H8R."
"I really have to tell you I enjoy the challenge of meeting people personally and changing their opinion of me, because it happens 100 percent of the time," Gosselin told me a few months ago. But now that she has been given the opportunity to change some minds on camera, she's saying thanks but no thanks.
The unpredictable new reality show brings celebrity haters and the stars they trash face-to-face in awkward and embarrassing encounters. Haters send in their video rants and are then ambushed by the celebrities who have watched them.
"We have had more videos sent in about Kate than any other celebrity," a show producer tells me. “We have reached out to her many times asking her to do the show, but so far it doesn't look good."
Eva Longoria, Kim Kardashian and even Snooki have all appeared on the funny show, so why is Gosselin playing so hard to get?
"Kate may say she is cool with meeting people who don't like her but she never puts herself in a position where she is not in control," a friend of Gosselin's told me. "This would be her worst nightmare and, unlike Snooki, Kate has no sense of humor.”
"H8R" airs Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. on the CW.

Much like their idol Katie, they create their own reality (and change it up as needed.)
I can kind of understand the teens who desperately vie for Kate's attention, but the adult women and men ... tweets oozing desperation for attention ...
Boggles the mind.
Where was it that Kate threatened to leave her kids behind? In NYC? Apparently this is her M.O. She told the kids that if they didn't take their seats they would have to walk home. What mother does this...scares the bejesus out of her child with threats of abandonment?
"We have had more videos sent in about Kate than any other celebrity," a show producer tells me.
____________
That's hilarious. Hearing that is sure to have put our Katie in a foul humor. LOL
Good thing she has those 10 or so adoring fans.
Warmth of the Sun,
Not only did she threaten to leave them with strangers in NYC; she also told them that if they didn't leave with her (in Alaska) that they would no longer be Gosselins, but Palins.
Piece of work that kHatie is...a nasty piece of work.
Now my own mother would threaten to bring us to the orphanage (good old Mt. Lorretto) if we missed behaved and since my brother and I were adopted - we were extra scared! Then again my mother suffers from mental illness...
holy crap, I hope you all know I meant misbehaved! Where is my brain? lol
Her blog posts crack me up. Always such a desperate attempt to make herself look like supermom ( Notice she never includes how many times she screamed or hit a kid or how many meltdowns and tantrums she had during her supermom speils ).
It's almost as if she's trying to write a resume as a fictional character in a narrative. "Look at me! Look how wonderful I am! You should idolize me! Hire me for tv! I can wrangle 8 kids AND cook a delicious meal! I'm such an overachiever!"
But all I can think of when she tries so hard to get people to see how hard her life is, is that she should've been nicer to the husband she had, and she wouldn't have to be doing this by herself. If she weren't so insufferable and horrible, she'd have a partner to help with the kids. SHE chose to run her partner off with the constant nagging and belittling. So live with the consequences and STFU! Stop whining about how hard poor wittle mommy Kate has it. You are a single parent because you treat people so badly, and not for any other reason.
On another note....
How long is she going to try to be a stay at home-do it all mom with no job and no income before the money dries up and she's up chit creek?
Oh wow, this reminds me of a terrible mistake I made when I first began babysitting. I was 12.
The little boy would not put his shoes on to go outside, and since they had a dog, I felt he needed to. I asked him many times, no go. In desperation I told him that the police would come and make him put his shoes on his feet if he didn't do it himself. The shoes went on pretty fast. I know I scared him half to death, and 45+ years later I still feel bad about it. He did not deserve that from me.
My sympathy is with the family of Meredith Kercher. I think the fact that the break-in was faked as well as Amanda Knox' alibi changed several times and she falsely accused the man from Africa, indicates she was involved. Her behaviour at the police station (turning cartwheels, etc.) suggests to me that she was not that concerned about the brutal murder (by some accounts of 40 stab wounds) of her "friend".

The sheeple are saying that the show is "crappy" and not a hit. True or not, they are blind to the fact that the producer says they have had more videos sent in about Kate than anyone else. Sheep can always find an excuse for everything - speeding, an eating disorder - screaming at kids, and therefore the fact that Kate is hated is irrelevant because it's a lousy show.
If you were so hated that videos were sent to a producer about you, and there were so many negative articles/blogs written about you, wouldn't you sit down and think that maybe there was something to it, and resolve to get therapy and change your life? How could you live with yourself knowing that you were so disliked? What a way to go through life! What legacy would you leave behind?

Oh Fido, this reminds me of something that happened when my kids were very young. They wouldn't stay in their car seats, and the older child kept unbuckling her regular seat belt. We had pulled into a gas station, where a police officer, who was a friend of my husband, was sitting in his car. My husband went over to talk to him and then came back to our car. Soon the officer came over to our car, saw the kids were out of their seat belts and read them the riot act about how unsafe it was not to be buckled up. He did it in a way that was very authoritative. Big guy in uniform, with a gun...very imposing! Husband just looked at me and smiled. From then on, the kids stayed buckled up.

Yes, she works so hard to make herself attractive on the outside, yet does nothing to make herself a better mother, ex-wife, friend.
I'm convinced the whole reason she wants to be on television is that she sees being "famous" and being "loved" as the same thing.
Two completely different things Katie. Those sheeple may "love" you now, but they won't pick your butt up off the ground when you're at your lowest of lows.
Regarding the confessions of a suspect, my husband was recently questioned/interrogated (as a professional witness) in a huge case in Manhattan by some high powered attorneys for five hours a day for a week. The outcome of the case was worth multi-millions of dollars.
He stood his ground with his professional opinion and professional experience the entire time but told me that he can see how a person being interrogated by police for hours on end would weaken and say anything the police want to hear.
He said it was grueling. They ask you the same questions over and over just worded differently.
My husband was not under the pressure and emotional strain that an innocent suspected murderer is. He had nothing to personally lose with his testimony. He had an attorney present. He drank water whenever he wanted. He could ask for a break. He got lunch breaks. He wasn't in a foreign country. He went home when it was over for the day and returned the next day after a good night's sleep. He had it easy.
However, he said after being asked the same questions so many times you get to the point you just want to say what they want to hear so they will just leave you alone.
He admitted he really could imagine how a suspect could feel being interrogated so harshly and he could definitely see how an innocent person will say something, anything, just to be left alone, just to make the interrogation end.
I don't think it is something anyone can understand if they haven't experienced it. I think most of us would say they would never admit to something they didn't do no matter what the conditions were. I know I feel that way. I'm just not so sure that anyone can really know what they would or wouldn't do under such circumstances.
Oh my. Is it just me or does Kate's "my day" story sound just a little too...fluffy? Seriously, I think Kate enjoys making it sound as if she's a gift to her own children.
Personally, what's witht he timer? I think she is going to so control these kids that if she were to take it away her kids wouldn't know how to behave or do things.
They'll be the kids in college calling and asking mom if it's okay to go on an out of town trip with friends. Simply pathetic!
I just posted something about saying anything to end an interrogation.
I just want to add that I really haven't followed the Knox case and I don't know what her confessions, if any, were. I don't know what she admitted or stated or was seen doing on video after the murders so it wasn't posted to refute anything regarding Knox in particular.
Wait Wait Wait - I am supposed to post 300 times a day using 30 different names... What? I dont have TIME to think up more names let alone post them all! I am way too busy and exhausted! Besides, if I wasnt just plain me, how would Hey Jude know where to come for a glass or 3 of wine??
Admin, I hold you personally responsible for this, for not filling me on the unspoken rules! I have tried to be a good poster, but ya could have let me know that I was falling behind in my name-quota! I have chatted off-site with a couple of you guys too, and you never mentioned that there were supposed to be other names and way more postings every day.

That's a great summation of Kate. Her kids are not the gift, SHE is. She is a living monument to martyrdom and it's not attractive, althoug apparently some buy into it.
Why does she think anything on her blog is worth reading by any mother out there? We all have dealt with breakfast, school buses, sick kids and bed time.

No. According to BM, it's 30 times using 10 different names. Surely you could manage that! Or is it 10 times using 30 different names?
I never was very good at math...

Didn't Kate say that her children are an extension of herself? By this reasoning, then, she is a gift to herself.
I don't comment every day.
I think BM is a bit jealous that this blog is busy and all the fan blogs are ghost towns with tumbleweeds blowing down the street.
Just Me Said....that is exactly what I thought when I read that.. The time line was all over the place it felt and the only things that rang true were
Beeping the horn for Cara
Setting a timer for breakfast
If that is her day then she might want to outline it better for her readers. None of it made sense in a timeline.
Another thing. What is so exhausting about paying bills, exercising, laundry and getting dinner ready over the course of 8 hours. She is so overly dramatic about the little things in life all of us do (unless we have a staff). I think kate is super bitter she does not have TLC around anymore to manage her life and she hates having to live like a commoner.

Because she is the only mother who has 8 kids and she knows and does it all. She is the "super mom", doncha know?
I thought she was the "mastermind" of organization? If so, why does she make her day sound so hectic? Does she actually have to set a timer for how long the kids have to eat? Sounds like it's just more of her controlling not only what they eat, but how long they get to eat it. To me it would just put more pressure on the kids and make than more anxious about eating.
And yes I know, that they have be ready to leave at a certain time, but I think using a timer is going a bit overboard.
I think Kate was pretty bitter even while she was funded by tlc.
RE Martha Stewart. I TOTALLY agree Alexis will have a surprise when it is time to read the will. Maybe just maybe though she was tired of having that darn will held over her head. The stress of wondering if momma was gonna punish you for any slight that she finally just said screw it. Having a narcissist in charge of any inheritance would be so stressful I could see Alexis finally not caring about the empire and just wanting her life. Maybe it was her way of telling mommy your money no longer has power over me.
Kate sound just like an untalented Martha. Is
there a narcissist mother store that created these women? Unfortunately for her kids..it will never be about them. It will always be about her. Her "10" dinners, her decorations, her beauty, her money, her control. She needs her ego stroked 24/7 when in reality its her children who need to feel confident. By always having to beat them she is picking away at their self esteem.

On the Italian tile, out by the pool?
Wait! Isn't it supposed to be "fine Corinthian leather?"
Going off topic again but this has to be repeated here, look at what Alexis, Martha Stewart's daughter, is saying in her new book.......whoa:
"There was never anything to eat at my house," she says. "Other people had food. I had no food ... There were ingredients but no prepared food of any kind."
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
I wonder what did they eat? Did the ingredients go unused? Or were they used in preparing food or baking? Did Martha have a cook/chef in her home/homes when Alexis was growing up. Surely they both had to eat at home. Or maybe had take out from good restaurants? Did Alexis go to private boarding schools? There must have been fresh food in the home. Fruits or veggies. Healthy snacks. Martha probably had a housekeeper and nanny/nannies. There had to be something to eat.
Good Post Anon Today. The are many accounts of false confessions. Micheal Crow is one example. I think at some point certain people just crack. Whether it is to please the investigator or just get out of there is very possible. I hope we move forward to video taping interrogations and I have to say I'm not on board with the waive the lawyer thing. I think once you hit the police station to be questioned in a possible capitol offense or on a charge that would warrant a long sentence a court appointed attorney should greet you to go over what exactly your rights are. Some people don't get attorneys because they feel it will look suspicious. Take out the choice and let them get some advice before beginning the questions.
(i know it's not plausible. Its just I do worry for people who have had their rights violated, it is a very real thing)

Now the momma’s day begins!
Running she jogs, she may or may not have actually done it....no pap photos, and we all know that hoards of them follow her wherever she goes,
laundry, hmmmm....she has a laundry girl so we know she didn't do the laundry, and even if she did, that only takes an hour or so
and bill paying can't take too long...maybe an hour at the most? Once a week? She REALLY needs to set up on-line bill paying.
and making dinner.. we know she didn't work on that much cuz later she says: I quickly threw a delicious dinner together
just to name a few things we moms do
Love how she's implying that she did domestic stuff all day, when in reality she didn't do anything benefiting the household/kids.
That's all she ever can name....laundry, meal prep, bill-paying, (undefined)paperwork. Does she really think that that's ALL a sahm does all day?
We never hear about house cleaning/mowing/pool cleaning/chicken coop cleaning/garage cleaning/car cleaning.
When's the last time you heard her mention cleaning out the frig? (Smirk.) Or mopping the floors?
EM, I would hope that if I were ever in an interrogation that I'd have the presence of mind to lawyer up. A lay person is at such a great disadvantage that I think you're right about wishing everyone could have representation so they are protected and their rights preserved. Most of all, that lay persons are able to give informed consent to the proceedings.
kate's day sound so *gasp* ordinary. i didn't see anything supermom-ish about it. She has a normal life like most people. What is she so exhausted for. A lot of women do in a day what she did PLUS worked an 8 hour shift.
EM
Do these children have ulcers? I mean if I had to worry about every second of my day from the moment I awoke until I went to bed was on a timer I would have such stomach problems and my nerves would be shot. Perhaps that is why poor Hannah was sick on the bus. How many times have we heard over the years about the children vomiting?
Plus, in her latest blog how many times was dinner mentioned? Does it really take her from morning until after school to prepare her crackers and grapes or raw chicken? Then she made it sound like the only ones that ate were the children who came straight home from school. I guess if you have after school activities your are out of luck. Because, you know she is not a short order cook and the dinner isn't open all night.
I also have an issue with her crunchy things. Really? You can't give them a name like chips or carrots or whatever the crunchy thing is!!!!! (I had to add those ! in just because I need to be snarky)
End of rant.
What DOES she do all day anyway?
Running 2 hours
Laundry 1 hour
Bill Paying 1 hour
That leaves 3-4 hours, maybe 5 hours, for what?????
Does she have any hobbies or interests that we've heard of?
Meal Prep=1/2 hour, if it was thrown together. AND it was thrown together AFTER the kids got home so its time doesn't count.
Mel..agree. Just same old same old. She complains about laundry so often I think she forgets at times she told everyone she has a laundry girl. I mean..kate literally has all day to do the few things on her list. She's not cramming into the evening after working all day. Also..I don't know may unemployed people who don't have JOB HUNTING on their daily task list.
Her life doesn't sound all that hard to me. She has help to clean, do laundry, do yard work and pool cleaning. All she really has to do is get her kids off to school..pick them up and feed, bathe and do homework. Sure she has MORE kids than most but she has plenty of free time to come up with a schedule that works for her family.
Did she stop to think about any of these MUNDANE things that would be required of her while she was having sex with overstimualted ovaries?
Raising kids is tough. You pretty much hand over your life and free time to parent your children. kate seems surprised she is expected to do this and wants accolades and gushing for simply being a parent. People are not going to clamor over you for doing what is expected.

Kate has to stand right in the way and TELL her pathetic little laundry girl how to get the stains out, how to put the clothes in correctly,
how to dry them and hang them up in proper order. There is just SO much pressure having a laundry girl. How would YOU know if you don't have one? (a snark and a smile)
I think the twit actually uses an online thesaurus to get those "fancy" words, like "I then conducted showers and homework", from a tweet today. Thing is , she is simply too stupid to know that all words cannot be subsituted, it's painful reading anything she writes. The day in the life of a perfect mom? Oh, that was just awful trying to follow the syntax, and the timeline. And I'm sorry who is a) going to believe the vomit bag story and b) who even writes stuff like that about their child?
As for H8er, I seriously think the whole idea is stupid, but the people who appear on it do it for the laughs, I think, plus I think that they also know that this is only part of the celebrity, some of their persona is just an act. With Kate, it's a good idea to stay away from a show like that. We all know how limited her stage presence is, plus her horrible behavior is not an act at all - she is really that awful.
Today she tweets "I don't live my life apologetically, I live it deliberately." More nonsense with 50 cent words, because it means zip-doodle. Twitidiot.
Made me laugh when I saw someone said Kate was trying to be June Cleaver because just yesterday I saw a Leave It To Beaver episode where June found the boys were secretly raising a baby alligator and she was very cool about it, found the humor, felt bad that the boys would have to turn the gator over to a zoo, then got them a puppy because they proved they could take care of a pet. Well, there you go Kate, your next storyline, whoops, I mean lie, double whoops, I mean post about your real day.
My sister-in-law has that red/yellow/green timer thingy. She used it to help my nephews (triplets! No other siblings) to know when to know how long they had before they were leaving to go somewhere, so that they weren't surprised and in the middle of doing something. But they were 4 at the time.
I can't wait until those children are old enough to take their own showers. Oh, maybe they already are.
Also, now that it's been mentioned here, what do we want to bet Kate will be starting to add in some chores to her daily list - some fall gardening or cleaning the chicken coop or closing down the pool. Not that these are things she would actually do, but things she can convince her fans she does just because she says she does them.
Excuse me, but haven't the kids learned to read a clock yet? As I recall, learning how to tell time was one of their lessons on the RV trip. Why not put all that good learning to use during breakfast and the countdown to school?
Nancy Grace doesn't agree with Amanda Knox verdict.

I stopped watching Nancy Grace after she ripped into JOn for his earring yet gave kate a total verbal pass on her behavior. I's not real big on one sided type people and I hate when people have such strong opinions when they don't have all the facts. Whether you think Amanda had something to do with the crime or not...a "total miscarriage of justice" does not Nancy.
Also..I agreed with her stance on Casey Anthony but the way she over sensationalized it with the whole TOT MOM stuff was over the top. Plus, she didn't know near the amount of info that I knew.(and i say KNEW because like I said before everything in that case in on record) It's always irritating when talking heads don't do serious research before blathering on and on as an expert. If you are going to discuss a case in the media I think you should have facts. I wonder what Nancy has decided the facts of the case are?
EM
hmm.. i wonder if Nancys words were taken out of context. Maybe she meant how the case was handled was a miscarriage of justice. I hope that was what she meant.

______
What's going to be more pathetic is when her kids are old enough to read her drivel.
My bet is their recollections will be quite different than Katie's.
************************************************
Kate reminds of Martha Stewart (sans talent).
They're both known for "embellishing" stories/ memories.
I thought about how controlled Kate seems to be, and I have concerns about what I said her kids will be able to just break free when they hit 18. Might not be so.
I know people have shared their narcasstic stories, so if nobody minds too much.
I grew up with a controlling father. Read what was on back of packages in the ingrediences, looked at the calories. When we would go driving he would shout out, "look at the tub, the fat guy!" He controlled food most certainly. Made me feel so utterly guilty I still struggle to eat because he still watched every time you put a bit in your mouth. Looks at your stomach instead of your face when you talk.
My mother worked at all the schools I went to, knew all my teachers. And heaven forbid if I wore certain clothes, talked a certain way boy was I in for it later. What you call a helicoper parent I believe the term is now. In a sall town where everybody knows everybody else doesn't help the matter.
I was told where I could and couldn't go to college because they were paying for it. I was 18-19 years old then. I was the kid who called my parents asking what I should and shouldn't do because I didn't know any better. Even going out to a restaurant my mom used to say, "That is fattening, think of the calories," While my dad looked on with diapproving looks.
My 21rst birthday, my brother told me I was immature and not prepared for the world and should stay home as long as possible because I would never be ready to make a single decision on my own.
This is what I fear for Kate's kids. She cuts their food, she serves it to them, she dresses them alike, she treats them with very little individuality. Tells them how to eat lunch, freaks out over food, laundry stains. This is why it breaks it breaks my heart. Her kids will struggle, regardless whenever they are free. I did. Then one day it hit me, I was the adult. I didn't have to ask permission anymore. That's a very hard thing to do comming fro controlled environments believe me.
I don't say this for sympathy, to dupe you guys or anything of the sort. I shared because I see so much of Kate's control over her kids and that she thinks she's so wonderful. I see future problems and I can't help but cringe.
I know now as an adult, despite my parents continued control I was able to take my first trip with friends and feel like an actual adult. When I could pay bills on my own or spend oney and not feel guilty. Kate's kids may or maybe will not struggle who knows.
But as a message to Kate--let your kids be kids. It's something you never get back once it's gone. You have to let your kids learn, make mistakes to be able to learn to be their own person. I know...and it's not easy.
as I conducted showers
How do you conduct showers, anyway?
Stand outside the shower curtain and sing?
******
Ah, so THAT's what she keeps the stick for - so she can conduct showers. She waves her arms around to the beat of the pulse shower head. Got it. Thanks.
Marie, I hear you. While for the most part I am very, very thankful for the parents I had, I am fully aware of their control. Back in my day it was call obedience and respect, and nothing less than that was acceptable.
It took me years as an adult to not have to pick up the phone - long distance in those days - to ask my parents when to do when something went wrong with my car, or how to solve this small issue in my apartment. It was a long, hard road to leading a decisive life.
Making decisions is still hard for me. I am glad I am not the sole decision maker around here or else we'd never get anything done.
Fidosmommy, thanks. It is hard but eventually you sort of learn to try and make your own decisions I think. Kate's kids will too, eventually. We all do it.
As far as controlling showers and how she might. Let's see....my grandma would turn on the water for me, I was 7. She would turn the water off for me. I had 10 minutes to do this. The woman poured my cereal. I think maybe control runs in the family with me. Sad I know.
Kate seriously needs to let her kids just do things on their own. Otherwise she'll end up with kids always calling and asking her permission. No, wait, I think that's exactly what she wants isn't it!
Today she tweets "I don't live my life apologetically, I live it deliberately."
Well, I for one, am glad she finally just admitted this.
Now she and the sheeple can stop making excuses for her bad behavior. "It's just stress!" "It's low blood sugar!" "You would act this way, too, if you had 8 kids!" and all their other myriad of excuses to explain her bad behavior. She has just said flat out, I do it ON PURPOSE.
She is an rude, lying, harpy deliberately. Great to know, I say.
Marie,
Someone upthread mentioned college students having to ask permission to leave town with friends. Yes, that was expected of me. I needed to make that decision on my own - it's part of growing up - but my parents wanted to keep me under their control. In part, I get that. But I just felt stifled, and quite jealous of my friends who had money in their accounts to go shopping/out to eat/go to a movie, and my parents gave me $10.00 every two weeks to cover my weekend dinners that were not served at the sorority house. Not a dime more, and would not permit me to work at a part time job in college. Control, plain and simple.
Gee, how did I ever settle on a name for this wonderful blog? It must have taken me 6 weeks and lots of phone calls to my spiritual advisor. (snark)
I must repeat, I had good parents, but they just held me 'way too close, and not for my own good.
My point in all this soul spilling is that I hope this control of Kate's will begin to fall away and she can let herchildren have some voice in their choices.
Out of the 8 kids, all different, with different personalities, emotions, intellects, temperaments, and talents, I think some may turn out like Marie and Fido, others completely different. Remember, they also have each other to depend on.
Kate needs do to online banking. I pay my bills on my PHONE and it takes me five minutes, once a month! A lot of things can be automatically deducted, too. Those take me zero minutes. :)
She has to come up with stuff that she does to make it sound like more than power walking, bossing around the laundry girl and pool boy and twittering.
And seriously, what mom HASN'T done the things she lists??? Try doing all that AND working full-time, Kate, you ninny. For years when my child was young, I taught high school English. So I got myself and a four year old ready, fed and out the door, then taught 125 ninth graders a day, picked up my child, ran errands, got home and started dinner, moved laundry, fed pets, etc. It's called being a parent. I was tired, sure, but bitching about it wasn't going to magically fix it. You just get through it.
Plus, I had a wonderful husband and friends and family members who helped out. Kate could have had/did have those things, and threw them away.
I don't like Alexis Stewart. I saw her show "Whatever You're Wrong" the ONE time it was on Hallmark Channel, and she was wooden and unlikeable. She was complaining that her daughter bonded with the nanny more than her, and it was a problem that all affluent women had. I felt concerned for the kid more than her.
Martha did not have anything handed to her on a silver platter. She grew up middle class in New Jersey, and although she has a very affected accent, she never pretended to be a high WASP or anything like that. She would always make Polish delicacies. Whether she's an easy person to deal with or not, she worked hard to earn her fortune. I don't believe the allegations of her daughter at all. They sound like bizarre negative stories that celebrities sometimes plant for attention. Wrapping your own presents? No food, only ingredients? Hiding at Halloween? No, I'm skeptical.
As for Amanda--I'm still reading the book about her, I haven't made up her mind. Casey's a creep, but the case against her was weak. "Rare" duct tape where only 100,000 rolls were made? If that was important evidence, I can see how she walked.
Oh can I ever relate Fidosmommy! I'm in that process of learning it's okay to go and do without asking. It's harder than I thought. Because as a kid I swore to myself when I turned 18 I'd be able to move out and be on my own. It's not that easy unfortunately.
Kate's kids are different yes, some may call home, some may not. The ones that do or the ones that bend to and accept Kate's almighty will, they might have a hard time.
Right there with you in college. I get sent money. Right now what I see is all my friends getting married, having kids and a life and I'm too afraid to go over certain established bills still. I ponder over how it's okay to over spend and be okay with it.
I wonder how Kate will react when her kids decide to no longer dress identically all the time. Sure it might save money but it cramps on individual tastes.
Why does Kate continue to bash her kids. Doesn't she realize it is a clear reflection of how she is raising them? Yes, I am going to ask...why are her kids ALWAYS fighting and hard to get along with. My mother had 5 kids within 6 years. We didn't fight like this on a daily basis. Kate's kids fight about typical routine activities that happen in their everyday lives. What is the problem in that household? For instance, according to Kate this is what happens during their day:
- Kids have to be "wrestled" to wake up for school
- Kids have trouble finding food to "tolerate for breakfast"
- Kids have a few food arguments
- Kate has to encourage slow ones to hurry up
- Kate has to quiet all the screams and squallor
- Kate has to beep horn to hurry kids along
- Kids loudly board the bus in their usual disorganized fashion
- Kids get off school bus tired, cantankerous, and disheveled
- Kids fight about sitting next to their sister who threw up (probably a BIG fight too)
________________________
No, I am not a mother but I can't believe this is a healthy normal household. The kids are cantankerous, dishelveled, fighting, screaming, and disorganized during a regular school day. That is their beloved Mother describing them not me.
Kate is such an idiot to write about her children this way. And her kissing them twice and all the June Cleave bullshit is truly bullshit. Her kids are like this because of her.
P.S. Squallor is not a word. Squall is a verb that means loud crying and harsh screaming. Again, Kate is an idiot.
I have to admit that I did have to direct showers when my son was young. After the first time that he came out of the shower dirty (if you can believe it) I asked him if he used soap. The answer was "you didn't tell me to". He just stood under the running water and called it a shower. The shower ritual then became, take a shower, use soap on your body, use shampoo in your hair, rinse everything off, towel dry completely BEFORE getting into your pj's. We also had to tell him to put the toothpaste on the brush to brush his teeth after we caught him brushing with his fingers. He still remembers and laughs about it now.
Parent and Alumna I'd like to ask you a question if I may. Is it a policy of the school (or the contracted bus company) to give the bag that a child has vomited into to the parent? As a military family we lived all over and never once did I see a bus drier hand a bag of vomit to a parent picking up a child. Sure they may have said you child got sick on the bus, but again, never once did I see anyone handed a vomit bag.
not a fan of Alexis either. I would have more respect or her if her entire career wasn't based off her mother. If Martha is so bad (she may be)..don't take her money. Go out and do something on your own. Martha got her the job at Sirrus. Martha produced her shows, Martha wrote a passage in her book, Martha paid for her fertility treatments..you get the picture.
Sounds like Alexis has issues from growing up with a narcissistic mother but should probably seek help for them at this point.
EM
Westcoaster -- I believe the "vomit bag" story. I've helped out as a monitor on a school bus. You pray every day that one of the kids won't throw up on the bus. If you're lucky, they use a bag. If not, it's all over themselves, their seatmate, the seat, the floor, etc. You don't want it to stay on the bus. The odor alone is enough to trigger other kids, particularly those who may be prone to motion sickness. Also, you want the parent to know the kid threw up. So - you turn the evidence over to the parent and get it the heck off the bus.
Tamara, I'm not so sure those kids will have each other. The way Kate exhibits favoritism, her insistence on birth order for everything, even when she knows it upsets some of the other kids, her ignoring the bullying and fighting every single day, her constant put-down of the boys -- this is just setting those kids up for a lifetime of sibling rivalry.
Clearly Kate's blog can't be about today. Her tweet that the post was up was around 1 o'clock, based on the time notation above. If she normally picks the kids up in late afternoon, she couldn't have gotten the kids already, unless school let out early today, and she didn't mention that it did. I suspect that the blog refers to either yesterday or one day last week. Perhaps the day those yelling photos were taken.

I'm so confused. Does Kate read the stuff written about her or not? She done more waffling than a Waffle House at 2 a.m.
If she doesn't read any negative press, how does she know that 99% of it is untrue?
If she's so busy, with 8 kids, on a school night, how does she have the time (or interest) to shoot down any and all rumors?
I get that a lot of the crap written about her is untrue. What makes me laugh every time is when a site or magazine cites a close "friend" who dishes the dirt, which makes no sense at all. What friend does this?
Anyway, Kate's shooting down rumors. Me me me! Let's talk about me!
One thing I do believe is that one of the reasons Tony D. was pulling out his hair dealing with her is that she had her nose in her phone reading anything written about her, all day long.
I raised a kid and was never once handed a bag of vomit by a caregiver, teacher, bus driver, aide, anyone. I have been handed soiled clothes, but never a bag of vomit, what exactly is the point of that? Would a parent look at it and say, "Yep, that's her vomit?" I don't get it.
Her kids throw up a lot. Anxiety?
Yeeaa Amanda Knox just landed in Seattle! LOL leave it to CNN to have the live runway footage.
My biggest problem with the vomit is that Kate is even talking about it. Hannah is seven and a half years old. Her vomit is nobody's business but hers and Kate's.
The exploitation of these kids is not over, not by a long shot. Just because it's the written word doesn't mean it's not exploitation. At least the cameras are out of their faces but good Lord, will she ever stop?
Parent and Alumna I'd like to ask you a question if I may. Is it a policy of the school (or the contracted bus company) to give the bag that a child has vomited into to the parent
+++++++++++++++++
I have no idea. My kids have never taken the bus, nor have I ever heard about anyone vomiting in a bag on a school bus. Field trips are usually taken on a chartered bus with a bathroom, so that would be available to a sick child. Even on regular school buses for field trips I never saw a child vomit. Knock on wood! I'm sorry I can't answer that one.
Could it be that Kate sends a bag along in the backpacks in case these kids get sick? They do seem prone to motion sickness. Could she be that organized?
All of the nice stories and discussion about 'control' and rules makes me remember something about one of my daughters. All during senior year, curfew was midnight on weekends unless we gave special permission ahead of time.
This child lived at home the year after highschool and went to LPN school full time. For months and months, 18 years old and in LPN school, she still was home by midnight whenever she went out! Hubby and I were just waiting for her to say something but it took nearly 6 months for her to say "um, now that I am kind of an adult, I am going to stay out later tonight, OK?" We laughed and told her that we wondered what took her so long. She said something profound like "Student nurses are too tired to stay out any longer! it never occured to me!"
She will be 30 next week and we still laugh about this together.
Most of us experienced parents here can pretty much predict what will happen with kids who have been raised in such a controlled manner: They will grow up timid, unsure of themselves, afraid to make any decision of their own for fear it will be wrong, they will have very poor follow through with anything, unable to complete anything or see it through for fear the end result will be met with ridicule. I mean really, why bother? it wont be good enough anyway, right?
OR
The other half of the kids will go wild with freedom, even if they have to wrestle it out of their warden. Belligerence, defiance of ALL authority (teachers, police etc), risk-taking behavior (anything for a rush), physical bullying (that anger has to go somewhere) and a great deal of self-stimulating behavior (sex, drugs, drinking) since they were permitted very little self realization outside of the warden. THESE are the young adults that become physically violent with their outwardly perfect parents.
Katie Irene thinks she will keep them all goose stepping in order by raising her voice, her hand, and her red spoon. But there is 8 of them, and only 1 of her and several of them are going to be bigger than she is. It is certain they will each be much smarter than she, some of them already have her number.

Mean Child in school drops a paper bag full of Gawd-knows-what on the child's desk. "My big brother read on the internet last week that you made one of these for your skanky mom." or "Here kid, there's room in HERE next to your puke, no need to poop in your unnerware anymore." ...or about one of the boys who missed the fieldgoal in gym class "Maybe he needs something pulled out of his butt again..." What they opened these kids up for is beyond comprehension. And the ridicule they will endure for the laughingstock that their mother has become - wow.

Maybe SHE was not asked, but her manager was asked and responded that "WE are not interested in doing the show."
How does she explain that at this time of the evening she has time to tweet? Does she spend ANY quality time with the children?

A producer from the show itself said they asked her! What's in it for them to lie about that?
Someone is lying, either Kate or the show. My money is on Kate.
I find it hard to believe a show like this wouldn't try to court Kate, they'd be stupid not to since she is in all the polls as one of the most disliked celebs out there.

It must be exhausting for those kids having to always tell their Mom how wonderful she is and her cooking is a perfect 10. If they get off the bus at 4 or 4:30 and then they drive home and she makes dinner and they eat and they go to bed by 7:30 or 8,where is the time that they relax and play or do their homework or just be kids? And when is the good Mommy and Me time that she spends with them? I'm exhausted just thinking about it.
