Audrina Patridge says reality T.V. takes a toll on relationships because 'your mindset is to create good TV'

Love vs. Money

Although Kate has always downplayed the role of the show in the disintegration of her marriage, there's no question that reality T.V. is stressful on relationships.

Audrina Patridge, 26, one of Tony's kinder, gentler DWTS partners and star of The Hills, took a break from seven years of filming this year, and says now things in her personal life are more balanced as a result:  "It's hard on relationships, so after the show, Corey and I really worked on what was going on with us. We spent time together. I took five to six months off to just relax. With seven straight years of filming, I didn't really get time to organize my house or do things for myself, so I just took some time off. I moved to the beach."

Fido you don't have to know anything about her. The point is she's on reality tv, and mature enough to understand, at only 26, that it's VERY hard on relationships. .... which should be a duh, but Kate has always been in denial about the toll reality tv takes not just on relationships, but especially on her CHILDREN.

fidosmommy said... 3

The picture also looks like it's the point where Kate really started tearing Jon apart.......LOL.

Just another fame whore said... 4

You misspelled Audrina for Audriana above.

I like the way she spins her story "I took a hiatus from filming" when everyone knows her reality show (with her family - who are all crazy and/or alcoholics)was cancelled and she has no other film prospects.

I'm only surprised Kate hasn't said the same thing. "I'm taking a break." From what??

PJ's momma said... 5

Wow, Kate looks like a totally different person there. Quite pretty, actually.

I'm sick on the couch and watched some entertainment show and they showed Nikki Blonsky working in a salon, sweeping up and doing makeup and enjoying it. Another girl with her head on straight! And she's immensely talented too!

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 6

Taking a break is always code in Hollywood for AXED lol. But I like when people are realistic about what TV is all really about--not all roses. It is very obnoxious when Kate acts like there is absolutely nothing negative about being on TV, or if there is, it is very insignificant and vastly outweighed by things like trips and free organic cereal.

I was thinking today how do others in reality tv keep things in perspective. Went over to visit the Roloff's site....Oh my goodness what a difference from the wicked witch of wernersville's site. The roloffs site actually has a purpose, is organized, inviting, warm, honest and all those things that make a site worth clickin'.

Even though I don't agree with the Roloff's putting their kids on tv I agree with their insight. They were making tv and it involved conflict and chaos.

I know Kate believes the kids are just playing with camera crew (who may not have background checks) and they are family to her but for her not to acknowledge the toll it may have taken on her kids shows her trueh colors. I also believe the tinfoil pieplate sheeple may never see the light and that is okay the show is over and I really don't believe Kate will be a staple of Gather articles all of 2012...so all is good.

That is a good picture of the two of them. That was before you started wearing that crazy displaced spike (to show her attitude). Who knew at that time that all she had to do was go on Twitter and her true colors would come shining through (no spikes necessary).

Audrina was a good dancer, but failed to become one with Tony which led me to believe at that time that she was having relationship problems. Funny how things work. I never watched the Hills or any of the real housewives or teen mom shows. Did watch Bethany a bit and love Tori and Dean. At one point Bethany was showing the baby a lot but just heard her say recently that she is puling back on that.

That photo shows what the original appeal was..... A happy, young attractive couple with a boatload of cute babies. Wow. I can't get over Kate's physical change.

Yes, TLC destroyed that family or at the very least fast forwarded the destruction and brought to surface some ugly personality traits.

My hope is that with all the controversy regarding reality TV, it has peaked and will finally fade away as the soap operas and game shows.

Anonymous said... 29

Since we have exhausted the Gosselin saga, how about pursuing the teen moms on MTV? One has repeatedly said (well in the tabloids) that she does not want to to do it anymore, that the producers wake her daughter up to film and that is is extremely intrusive.

I've seen the shows a few times and it is terrifying for these young girls and their babies. Can we refocus on more reality kids? I really have no sympathy for adults that throw themselves into the spotlight.

I used to watch Patty Stanger's show and I know her boyfriend was camera shy, so they were on 2 divergent paths for a while. Plus, if your man takes 5-6 years to propose (at that age), it's probably not meant to be on both sides.
I'm really happy to say that I've moved on from most reality shows that follow people's lives. I used to watch RH series after series but don't anymore.
No judgement for anyone who watches adults in Reality TV and enjoys, it's just at this point, I know how contrived it is and it's all just a fame game.
I admire Jenna (I think that's her name, the one with the boy in the baseball minors) of Orange County for walking away. Her story line could have lasted a few more seasons but she just had it. Plus, editing made her children look like a-holes.

Looking at that picture just reminds me how lucky Jon is he's away from her now.

Here's my cool coupon story:

Every year at work, we raise money or items for a selected local charity. This year, it is our battered women's shelter. They need clothes, household items, stuff like that.

So the bosses took $160 of their own money, divided us into four teams and gave us $40 each. Our instructions were to get the items on the list (at a local shopping center) but to get the highest retail value for the $40 that we could. We had a time limit and there were stockings stuffed with little gifts for the first, second and third place winners. We couldn't use our own money, only the $40.

The winning team went to Old Navy and a few other places and found jackets that were 80% off, etc. The coupon part comes in here: we were allowed to use coupons. But most people don't just carry them around. One team found one in the store, but the rest of us didn't have any to use.

The winning team had a woman who uses electronic coupons off her phone. She used those so judiciously, that they got $432 worth of jackets, underwear, bed sheets, and blankets for their $40, with 36 cents left over! They were the winning team!

In all, we bought over $750 worth of new clothing and bedding items for the women's shelter for $160 (as a whole group). It was fun, exciting, and for a good cause.

When the winning team told us they used "coupons on the phone" everyone wanted to know how, and she explained it all to us. Quite simple, really. You can use an online coupon code in the store just like a regular coupon.

Now THAT'S a great couponing tip, and it was used to help others in need. If Kate moved past the tip of her nose and interacted with others in the world, she might have had a story like that to share on Coupon Cabin.

Good grief! Try starting work when you are 16 and are 44 now, with only 3 week vacations a year. There is NO WAY these people filmed 7 straight years with no time off. How many tabloid pictures were there of her in Cabo or playing on a beach somewhere? And when she was filming, how hard is it to sit around in bars and lay by the pool while being filmed?

This girl ( although she is sweet and beautiful ) does NOT live in the real world.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 50

Pam, it does speak to how out of touch living in the "reality tv world" can make you though. The same thing happened to Kate. She's lost touch with the woman and mother she used to be. She doesn't relate well to anyone anymore. Part of it is her own mental illness, but part of it is the isolation the show has brought her.

Anonymous said... 51

I could understand Kate's refusing to ride with a stranger, about whom she knew nothing, had she procured other transportation for herself that didn't cost the charity money. Heck, she could have driven herself, or had Purseboy drive her. The event wasn't all that far from her home -- a couple of hours IIRC. But to make a charity, for the survivors of first responders killed in the 9/11 attacks, pay out to provide her with luxury transportation, was despicable.

I use coupons and refund. I used to do it a lot more. When I was still working full time, the unit I supervised decided to adopt a family for Christmas. We held fundraisers (a yard sale, a soup/salad lunch at the office, etc.) and raised several hundred dollars (I don't remember the exact total) to spend on food, clothing and toys for our family. I had been saving my free item coupons (mostly procured through refund offers from various companies) and we were able to get free eggs; bread; ground beef; produce; cheese; personal care items such as toothpaste, soap, detergent, deodorant, etc.; and a free backpack in addition to the things we bought. Kate's blog would be a lot more effective and educational if she used actual examples -- for instance, she said she saved over $50 that one shopping trip. So -- what did she buy, what was the value of the coupons she used, and where did she get the coupons? This past week I had a $.75 off coupon for XYZ toothpaste. One of our local stores had it on sale for $1.50, plus they were offering a store-sponsored online rebate for $1.00. I made $.25 on the transaction. That's an example of what couponing can do. Think Kate could bother explaining something like that instead of bragging and whining her whole blog?

That may very well be true. There may have been many reasons she declined the ride, one of them being entitlement. However, it could also be that she didn't know this person, nor her driving record, and that also came into play. I only know why I would have declined a ride from a stranger. There are some of my friends I won't even ride with. I'm always the driver. Even on long drives I seldom, if ever, let another person drive, and I'm not a control freak. I just don't trust another person driving!

They have K8 G, a lazy couponer at best, a horrible writer and thus far has managed to make her rewritten columns all about her.

As for Ms. Patridge, well, she may be right about relationships at her tender age, but with the Gosselins it was never about making "good tv" - it was always about making money, and K8, post Jon, made that more than clear. TLC may have been driving the train, but she destroyed that marriage and split that family. - there will be many lonely years ahead for her. "Days are long, years are short".

Devil's Advocate -- I think hey jude intended her post to be snarky tongue in cheek.

Re Kate's "tradition" of reading "The Night Before Christmas" to her kids. Why doesn't she have a tradition of reading the Christmas story from the Bible to her kids. After all, she's taught them not to believe in Santa, so why doesn't she read something more in keeping with her "Christian beliefs". When I was growing up, my Dad always read "The Night Before Christmas" and the Christmas Story from Luke. When I learned to read, we would alternate. As I got older, and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" was published, we added that. Mom was in charge of making hot chocolate and buttered toast, and this was our Christmas Eve tradition for years, even after I grew up and moved out on my own.

The kids at school often write or tell about Christmas traditions in their families, and since so many families (ours included) read the story on Christmas Eve, it's possible that one of the children brought the idea home to Kate and she decided to do it.

I think you meant 'should be' because with Kate it 'could and would' never happen because:
1. Kate doesn't give back. She probably doesn't know the meaning of those two words

2. Kate doesn't really use online coupons, in fact, I'll bet she doesn't know the first thing about navigating her way through couponing sites. Besides, who really cares what Kate does on Christmas Eve, as long as her children are safe, with her or Jon, and not being exploited. I couldn't care less if she claims to be a Christian but reads them a Santa story instead of from the Bible. It kind of cracks me up how everyone claims to not care about her blog but then rushes to critique everything she says in it, reading/analyzing/copying her tweets, etc. Yeah, I know you think it matters because she is a liar and putting herself out there as Wonder Mom. But still - WHO CARES - who is she hurting by claiming to be that? And yeah, I know that it is a shame she is away traveling so much. But many women are in that situation, and many of them claim to be super mothers because they "do it all" (even though they're being supported by nannies, a husband, etc.). It's said that Kate's children are likely better cared for when they are with their nanny or Jon. So WHO CARES? if she chooses to travel and be away from them. If anything, it is sad for her because it is HER loss that she will likely regret in the future.

I am so glad that Katie Irene has become a bit dull. This is all a far cry from 6 years of proudly displaying her emotional dysfunction and mental imcomptencies on TV and someone actually PAYING her for it. Those children have been nothing to her but the straight-men in her act; the objects that she plays her minute by minute abuse, breakdowns, and tantrums to, mainly because someone at TLC told her it was entertaining to the masses.

In looking at her tweets and her constant "Every mom knows..." I realize what a lost child she is. No, every mom does NOT know whatever BS she is making up at the time, whatever BS she is desperatly seeking affirmation on. She has no idea how to care for children, nuture children, parent children, and how to be the backbone of a family. She seems to have no examples to emulate, no insticts to call on, no love in her heart to guide her. Was there nothing family-oriented that was modeled her, or has she always been oblivious to everyone and everything, in her own self important fanstasy land?

Interesting case study. Too bad she had to birth 8 count em 8 people to permanently damage.

is such a classic. It's part of the American tradition. It's not really Christmas, it's not Hanukkah. It's not religious, it's seasonal. I've never met a child who didn't like it. It's just a happy little story about a jolly old elf and his bowl full of jelly. It's like reading a story about Prince Charming. You don't have to believe he exists to enjoy hearing about him in a bedtime story.

I'm glad the kids get to hear the poem. It's a wonderful piece of children's literature. I'm not sure this has to be confusing to them.

It doesn't seem realistic to believe that the woman just showed up at her house to drive her to the ice show without it being set up. That being said, just because a limo driver drives for a limo company doesn't mean he is a good or safe driver. Look at all the bus drivers in the news lately for serious infractions of all sorts. SHE just wanted a limo which to her is much more befitting of her status (in HER mind).

Although Audrina Patridge worked well with Tony on DWTS, she was a sore loser when she didn't get the votes to stay on the show. She did a few interviews on how she felt about it, and came across as greedy and ungrateful. Then the paparazzi got her mother on camera while outside of a bar smoking a cig....and she went into this sleezy drunken tirade about the greatness of her daughter, adding how unfair & corrupt it was that she was no longer on the show. It was so bad and classless. Later on when Audrina was asked what she thought of her mother's tasteless remarks, she said she supported them entirely & proceeded to make herself look even worse.

As far as her recent comments on reality TV....not sure what to make of it, but do believe she was fired from her job. After seeing her character throughout the DWTS aftermath, I don't have anything but disdain for her actions.

The ice show ride sounds like a lot of noncommunication to me. With all those cell phones attached to everyone's ear, Kate could have been called to say an SUV would be coming for her, Kate could have said NO WAY, another mode of transportation could have been found BEFORE the nice woman made that long trip and went home with empty seats in her vehicle.

I think Kate's 15 minutes are down to about 6 or less minutes.... CC, marthon, she is becoming much less relevant by the minute. And she knows it, or should see the writing on the wall.

Regardless,I wish nothing but the best for the kids, although this is not likely to happen on Kate Watch. A lot of the damage has been done, so she and Jon will be left to clean up the mess for the rest of their lives.

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

Hahahaha, I thought the same thing. She's taught her kids there is no Santa, so much so that they tell their classmates there is no Santa...

but we're supposed to believe this sugary story of Kate reading "The Night Before Christmas" while her kids are tucked in bed?

LMAO!!!!! She lies so freakin' bad it's getting kind of sad.

Pants on Fire, condolences on the recent loss of your dad. You're right. Memories made by loving people are definite keepers. Actually, the smaller the thing you remember (a story read) the sweeter it remains in your heart. I wish you peace and love at Christmas. Keep those memories flowing, share them! It helps with healing.

********

From this article, it doesn't seem like non-communication, but rather Kate being a biotch.

Snipped from the article about Kate's diva ways at the ice show in September '09.

"While she sweetly waived any sort of appearance fee, the octomom insisted that the Heritage Foundation foot the bill for a car service to shuttle her and Neild from Washington, D.C., to Danbury, a trek of more than five hours.

Such a request would inevitably ring up quite a cab fare for the small nonprofit, so one of the skater's mothers offered her services—and that of her shiny 2010 SUV—to pick them up and bring them to the event.

"When she pulled up to the hotel in Washington, Kate's bodyguard came up to the car and said she wasn't getting in," an insider tells E! News.

Neild told the generous mother that Gosselin, who had been informed of the transportation provided in advance, required a stretch limo with a divider. Only after the skating mother left to make the lengthy journey alone did the Gosselin camp set up their own chariot.

But that wasn't the end of it.

"It was really difficult to find a place to get her into the building because she wanted a side entrance, no crowd, no parking garage, and she needed to be dropped off right next to the entrance," Hoffman recalls. "It took three security guards and two others to get her to her dressing room."

Gosselin wasn't exactly friendly to the A-list skaters, either..."

I'm sad to report that I've not read (Twas) The Night Before Christmas to my family. : (
I'd only seen it done as a tradition in the Christmas Vacation movie. I'm feeling a bit neglectful! ; )

I do find it, as several posters do, ironic that Khate would read THAT poem well knowing her children were denied the childhood fantasy of believing in Santa. It's like an atheist reading passages from the bible. : /

Although our Christmas Eve lacks the reading of a great poem, it's not short on tradition. Our C.E. is spent with our extended family(four generations) eating a full spread of delicious food, watching the youngest open gifts next, then our hilarious white elephant type gift exchange, and a final gift exchange between adults. It is so much fun!

Yes, with the massive number of gifts opened there seems to be a sea of wrapping paper but it's part of the tradition and collecting/disposing of it is anything but drudgery.

I hosted C.E. last year; it's my bother's turn this year (hosting rotates). What we do is neither new nor original. It's simply a family tradition... and I LOVE IT!

That being said, just because a limo driver drives for a limo company doesn't mean he is a good or safe driver.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

No, it doesn't. But it means that he is employed by a service; he has passed all credentials needed to be a driver; his insurance has to be up to date, and he is bonded. In addition, a limo driver has a CDL class A, B or C with passenger and or S endorsement. They undergo state police criminal background checks, DOT mandated initial and periodic drug screening. That's a big difference than having a random person show up in an SUV, with a person having absolutely no knowledge who they are, if they've ever had their license suspended or so forth. Companies do background checks; an unknown driver is just that -- unverified and unknown.

Anonymous said... 94

Thanks for the "Grinchy Gosselin" link. I particularly like the idea of saving some of the wrap, ribbons, etc, and taking them out the following November so that each kid can make a Christmas ornament for that year's tree. Imagine finding them in a box 20 years on, and remember sitting with your siblings, sharing the glue and washing glitter out of your hair for days afterwards. Now THAT'S making memories!

#93, good points brought up. However, bus drivers are checked out also and if some of them can be not the best, it would stand to reason you can't swear that ALL limo drivers are. And she would not be thinking of the drivers record but more of her status symbol (i.e., arriving in a limo). And add to that her own crappy driving habits and who is she to question anyone else's ability? This is just MY opinion and whether you agree or not, I HAVE the right to state it without being read all the facts that you determine are pertinent in an attempt to downplay my opinion and knowledge of what limo drivers requirements may be.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 121

Back to the limo thing, but I would believe it were actually about Kate being concerned about a safe driver (this from a woman who pushes 90mph) if she just asked for a car, i.e. a driver service. The fact that she says LIMO plus with the back door entrance etc suggests it was all about being treated like a star. A five hour limo ride is an enormous waste of gas and money and would also make a heck of a lot more sense to use a towncar for that reason alone.

Contrary to Kate's new money belief, most people in LA who hire a car get town car sedans, not limos. They are trying to be discreet. Limos Kate? Are very 1991.

"A five hour limo ride is an enormous waste of gas and money and would also make a heck of a lot more sense to use a towncar for that reason alone."
===============

Yes, it would...and she could request a Town Car offered by a service and driver. I'm wondering if such a vehicle would have shown up (from a company) if she would have accepted the services or still have demanded a limo. Perhaps she is totally clueless about a Town Car even being a option and thought all employed drivers use limos! She really doesn't have too much upstairs

Hi, everyone.I must apologize for causing such a kerfuffle with my post about "The Night Before Christmas" story. Next, I suppose you will be telling me "Old Yeller" was a made for tv movie, Bambi was fake, there is no Easter bunny and oh, Virginia, there is no Santa Claus? sniff, oh my goodness.

My Christmas is ruined....How could you? I can't let you taint my precious memories with your vitriolic words -yes, you really are the Devil's Advocate, you really, really are. My Mom passed away 5rs. ago yesterday-I miss her so much it hurts some days. Forgive me for all my pathetic attempts at snark. You posted that you tried, but it was really hard for you to say something nice, wonder why that is? My Mom always said if you had nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.Wise woman;I'm not as nice as she was at all.

Thanks to all who came to my defence here- readerlady, you always have my back , La la, Pam, Admin.,Dwindle, Teresa, Ana, Fido,Winsome and most of you ladies here at one time or another are greatly appreciated for your wisdom ,kindness and wit.

My Mom was the sweetest on Earth and all our traditions I carried on with my girls- she loved Christmas so much and we didn't have much money, but we had everything we could ever want or need, thanks to her. She had the ability to have all of us kids think we were rich growing up! I still feel that richness of spirit, especially at this time of year.

Pants on Fire- I am so sorry for the loss of your precious Dad recently. Thinking of you and sending healing thoughts and prayers. He will always be with you, as you always carry him in a special corner of your heart.I find the song 'To Where You Are," by Josh Grobin helps me to feel better- love his sweet voice.Hope you find some hope, love and peace in your remembrances of your Dad this Christmas.Lost my Dad as a teen-ager, so Mom was extra special.

Kate's kids will never have that with their Mother; she doesn't have the ability to even understand that the best gifts cost nothing at all. She's a very ill woman, clutching at how to look like a good Mom,and failing miserably. Fond memories come from sharing in the rituals, words, hugs, jokes, cooking smells, sharing food and loving each other, not in spite of the warts and faults, but because of them.

Dallas lady, what a lovely story, thanks for sharing that.I always love your posts.Giving back feels so much better than just getting gifts.

I wish all of you a Happy Christmas time, spent with all those you hold dear.Wish we could keep that feeling of good will and peace all year long.

I am making a Shepherd's pie that Chef Ramsey had on his show last night. The secret to it's taste is 1/4 minced mutton with 3/4ground beef, and the smell is just heavenly- so good. Anyone want some? Come on over and I will give you some eggnog too.

I used to read 'I'll love you forever' by Robert Munsch to my girls and they are reading it to their kids now.Love that book, good gift for Christmas.Books are still my favourite thing to receive and give- they can take you away for a little trip or one that lasts a month, without leaving the house.Take care everyone and hold your families tight tonight- tell them you love them, so you have no regrets.

Sorry for the epistle to you all, maybe I should write a book!

Pants, hey jude -- so sorry you are missing family members at the Holidays. Especially you, Pants. So soon after your father's passing. My condolences. I know what both of you are dealing with. My father died the day after Christmas. It was nearly 30 years ago, but sometimes it feels like last year. It does get easier as time passes, for the most part. Just hang on to your good memories and find some that make you smile.

Jo -- thanks for trying to find out who else is included in the Biography Channel program. I too hope it isn't Jon who's on the list. It really disappoints me and makes me angry that people continue to snark on him and hold him in contempt for behavior that occurred over 2 years ago. He's apologized and tried to make amends and has tried to live an exemplary life the past couple of years, but some people just won't forgive and forget. Yet Kate, who has escalated her bad behavior, always seems to get a pass. Life just isn't fair sometimes.

Kates CC posts are vastly different from the others. The other bloggers for CC actually have real life couponing blogs. I wonder how long she will be allowed to produce crap for CC before they fire her. I also want to know how they are decided to pay her. It could be based on the number of hits the blog gets ,or, the number of times clicks for the links in her blog posts. I hope they are not paying her a flat fee for each blog entry. They would be screwing themselves if they did it that way.

Marie said... 141

What I fail to understand is, if she posted that entry to a blog for CC--where is the business connection? Why would a coupon business allow Kate to write solely about her family's Christmas?

Whatever they are paying her, most jobs mow require minimum wage so she's at least earning....what, $5-6 bucks an hour every time she actually works? I don't know how they pay her actually so it's a guess.

I may be behind, but I'm going to post about this anyway.

I linked over to an article at celebs.gather.com about Khate's greed. At the bottom I found another article about Khate rubbing her feet with Vicks. It's a funny jab at her recommendation.

I don't know how to post links, or actually no if they're allowed. Admin, I understand you'll delete if inappropriate.

fidosmommy said... 145

This too shall pass, no I did not see the reply.
I just saw her tweet on the top of this page. I actually LOOKED this time :-)

That response was certainly a good one, though. Runners know who's for real and who's a pretender. Why would a runner's magazine choose Kate? There must be a minimum of 50,000 people in the USA and Canada who run regularly, learned how to do it properly AND can write. I'm truly baffled by all this.

This, too, shall pass said... 146

I'm baffled, too, fidosmommy.

The more I consider all the advantages Khate has/had in preparation to run, signing up and attending the marathon, and opporunity to recoup following the maration, the more I realize that she can't be the equivalent of an average mother.

What active mother wouldn't do more running (or other activity) if they had the same help Khate had? How about everyone who facilitated her in attending the marathon? Being able to recoup in Las Vegas for an extended period of time afterward IS NOT an advantage the average mother has.

I call foul on any respresentation of Khate as an average mother (or mother of 8, count 'em 8) who's accomplished the goal of completing the maration.

This, too, shall pass said... 147

Correction ~ I was searching my mind for the right word, but settled. Sentence should have read,
"Being able to recoup in Las Vega for an extended period of time afterward IS NOT a LUXURY the average mother has."

I rest my case.

I've said for months, this is EXACTLY why she took up running and entered a marathon. She knew it would get her some much needed media attention and her ginormous ego fed.

Her FIRST fitness magazine article...and hopefully the LAST! I guess when fitness attention dries up, she move on to another genre for seeking fame. She's soooooooooooooo predictable.

Runners world can choose to write a stupid fluff piece a la people magazine and if they do, they'll insult their readership. You know, people dedicated enough to running to actually read runners world. Even if Kate did run that marathon (eye roll), how she did it was cavalier. Argh, what am I saying? The bitch didn't run it and runners world needs to run away from this poison.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 156

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the readers of Runner's World are going to be insulted by almost any celeb plastid on their cover who is clearly a fame whore and just picked up running on a whim. They'll see right through her, and anyone who tries to do what she did.

My hunch is celebs who are actually interested in marathons for personal reasons and not fame (for instance, Howie Mandel discreetly ran the triathlon I saw with the Hoyts) wouldn't be interested in doing a bunch of interviews about it and photoshoots.

If she didn't run it, why hasn't she been outed? Certainly there must be some sleuths out there, some investigators who could uncover what really happened during that race. Has this become Marathongate?

FWIW, I wrote a note to Runner's World. I used to run and do triathlon's, but since our 1, count 'em, 1 kid, who needs and gets our attention, the runs/tris will wait a few more years.
The gist of the note was that the mag was going to quickly lose credibility if they started heading in the direction of featuring washed up reality personalities over true athletes.
I hope this move by RW backfires, and they suffer some loses. As if any accomplished runner wants to hear what KK has to say. Gah!

Normal people aren't excited all the time. Least not me. Not ever opportunity in life is golden or falls into your lap. Some people actually you know have to work at it. I can't stand the woman because she thinks all the life opportunities that thrill her will last forever.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Because people like her never quit. Never. LaFair is a great example of Kate's M.O. Kate's lying and grifting finally caught up to her and Kate LOST in court. But f the court system this is KATE, she always gets her way no matter what. Kate appeals, and LaFair realizes not only is she going to be fighting this woman all the way to the Supreme Court if she keeps this up, but she's going to go broke doing it. LaFair, wisely, called it quits.

Kate is not able to process things the way a normal person like LaFair does, i.e. time, money, stress, expense, I should really just quit it's not worth it. Everything is worth it to Kate as long as she wins, even if it means lying, cheating, twisting the truth, not paying people for services rendered, etc to get there.

Since just about everyone else has a limit, she knows they're all going to bow out before she ever does. This is classic narcissism, they will always, always stay in the game and hold out longer than you can. And if you try to hold out longer, you will go crazy.

Oh, isn't that cute how Khate just threw that tweet out there at the end of the night and signed off Twitter? She knows exactly what she's doing - getting BOTH sides all worked up. The sheeple must be giddy, planning on buying 20 copies each, and the non-fans are just sick to death of her.

Since she wants us all to go nuts, I say we just ignore it. Clearly, many of us are leaning that way these days anyway. She is so irrelevant to 99.99% of the world at this point, and getting worse every day.

Hey, Khate - I'm thrilled for you that you were able to indulge your narcissistic self with a magazine shoot today and "article". It's too bad that you have to spend your life fighting so hard to obtain these THINGS that you think mean something, that validate you, and fill some horrible void in your life. Unfortunately for your kids, you really will never know what is important in life and how very, very much you are missing out on. This is most apparent at this time of year when most of us are happily planning and looking forward to spending the holidays with our family and friends, and you......tweet a photo of your half decorated Christmas tree to strangers who don't care, make up a fantasy life for yourself on Twitter, and claw desperately to find some way for people to pay attention to you. I "honestly" do feel sorry for you that your life is so lacking, and by the looks of things will get lonelier, emptier and more pitiful every year. Nobody Likes a Narcissist (NLAN) said... 171

I just want to add ANOTHER grifting tweet. I've already posted tweets from several teens and tweens shipping Christmas gifts to Khate. A few days ago, I posted the tweets from Ellie, the teen in England who tweeted to Maggie, the 10 or 11 year old English girl, that she was so shocked that it cost over $23 to ship her package to Khate. There was then an exchange between that teen and young Maggie as to what Ellie got them (chocolates and Olympic souvenirs), and how it took Ellie "ages to find something they'd all like." So, I guess Maggie finally got something too. Remember, she's the one who sent the twins birthday gifts and then had to tweet Khate many times, begging to know whether Khate even received the package. So, tonight:

MaggieGeorge1 Maggie George
@Kateplusmy8 I'm sorry your presents will be late this year : ( x o x Have a nice night
December 13th, 5:04 PM

@Kateplusmy8 Kate Gosselin
@MaggieGeorge1 aww you're so sweet... :)
December 13th, 10:04 PM

I just really cannot believe Khate gets away with encouraging this. It all started as soon as the show was canceled and she was allowing sheeple to send her books and photos to autograph and return. I think she actually got that idea from some of US, because before Khate ever suggested it, I know it was on Twitter and posted here that if Khate loved her fans so much, she should allow them to send her books and photos to sign. I feel bad, because I'm the one who posted it here and said since sheeple were asking about ever getting to see her at a book signing (lol), that Khate should just offer to sign things if they sent a self-addressed, stamped envelope. I never thought she'd do it, though. But, not long after that, that is exactly what she started doing!

Little did I know that she would use that as a means of providing her mailing address to the sheeple and getting GIFTS from them! So, now most of them have her address and are probably sending her gifts even if they don't tweet about it. That means, Khate can rely on them to send gifts four times a year - the twins' birthday, Christmas, Khate's birthday and the sextuplets' birthday. UNBELIEVABLE!

Nobody Likes a Narcissist (NLAN) said... 172

Hey, at the risk of sounding childish, I just want to point out that Admin's comments sandwiched between my two comments tonight have nothing to do with me! I haven't been here all day and I'm just catching up, and I just posted those two comments.

I do see that there appear to have been some issues here today and I just have to say that I ventured over to the dark side recently and saw them griping about not being able to post here. After reading around a bit, I am convinced that at least a few sheeple do post here. Too bad they are unwilling to use the same posting names here, but mostly, they just prefer to play games and stir stuff up. They clearly read every single comment here and it's their favorite topic of discussion. Funny, they also post Jon's tweets. Idiots.

How the hell did Jon hold out for all those years! The twins were enough, he didn't want more, but she held out and she won! No wonder he went off the rails a bit. I am surprised he didn't lose it completely and end up a mental hospital for a while. What with her, TLC and the media, he must have thought he was losing his mind. I would have. If anyone deserves peace and harmony it's Jon. He had to heal himself before he could help those kids.

What an easy job it must be managing Kate Gosselin. She has no special talent, other than annoying the heck out of people for refusing to educate herself and work hard, so all she really has to do is show up and be her annoying self. Served her well on Dancing with the Stars and this Marathon. No training, no hard work, and rules bent so her non qualifying finish time would still permit her to claim she ran a marathon. She didn't. She walked and jogged. Her time won't qualify her to run in any marathon she is not getting paid to pose as a celebrity. So sure Kate, if the lesson you want your kids to learn is that being the most annoying person in the room has perks too, go for it. Keep showing them they can wish, and will and pray for things instead of learning, working and giving back. Instead of couponing you should write a grifting blog entitled "How I take Credit For Things I Don't Really Do but Claim I Did Anyway". You can add NYT best selling author to that list.

Here's a comment from the Runner's World FB page:

XXXXXXX
It is my understanding that you have recently done a photo shoot with Kate Gosselin for your magazine. I have been a loyal reader for 4 years, and a subscriber as well. If RW wants to become US magazine that is fine, but at least have the courage to say so up front. Ms. Gosselin does NOT represent what I, or I believe so many of my fellow runners, believe in and go to RW to read about. Her selfish antics, desperation for attention, using running to keep herself in the spotlight all just make a mockery of what so many of us hold dear. In addition, there seems to be a strong case that this woman cheated during her first marathon at the LV Rock & Roll event a few weeks ago, and was taken by scooter to various points to promote herself and the race. If I do see her in any issue of RW, then I will immediately cancel my subscription. Hopefully the reports i have heard are wrong.

I think we are seeing Kate in her death throes as far as mainstream media is concerned. I believe her CC blog has been a huge fail--it's nothing but the same self-serving crap she puts on her website. And I also believe that she will have a hard time selling herself as a fitness guru, which appears to be where she's heading next.

Will be interesting to see what happens after the holidays.

++++++++++++++++

She probably meant sub-freezing (below 32) temperatures. You know how she gets things mixed up. However, we do get sub-zero temperatures here, maybe once or twice a season, for only one or two nights. It happened last winter, but I doubt that she was running around at 2 a.m. She also could mean the windchills, which did fall below zero a few times last winter.
But, in Kate's case, it was just another one of her wild exaggerations.

And what is the connection between those two sisters that ran with her and Runner's World? Also explains that runner guy who paced her and the other guy that she hugged at the finish line. I thought I smelled a rat with all the attention she was getting. I'm thinking she wants to nab some type of athletic clothing endorsement? What a joke.

Kate finished in 4:59.

Food for thought: Remember Valerie Bertinelli ran her first marathon last year, when she turned 50? She ran Boston (they must make special concessions for celebrities because you are required to qualify, which she wouldn't have, with her times) AND she ran for charity. There were some nice articles about her afterward. Nobody doubted she did it. There was not one hint of scandal before, during, or afterward. She was so proud of herself, people were proud of her, and then the story just quietly faded away. Why? Because she's talented, gracious, cute, fun, and face it, in the eyes of many, America's sweetheart because of her long career and personality. I find that all so interesting in view of the backlash from everything Kate and her first event.

No pap shots so guessing they came out to the house for Madame's photoshoot. Hope it did not interrupt her wrapping/baking marathons much. And yes, apparently the NYC talk shows were not waiting eagerly to book MsG after her big race in LV. March is a long winter away. She remains a grifting tool - how pathetic to allow these deluded teens to send her gifts, and from abroad, too.

Great article by a 'true' celebrity - one with his head on tight and who helps others. One who makes GREAT time (1:58 for a half and less than 4:00 for an entire marathon). I really enjoyed this: http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-243-544--14034-0,00.html?cm_mmc=Facebook-_-RunnersWorld-_-Content-Motivation-_-ImARunnerFlea
