'I'm not going to be ignored!': When fans become dangerous

It may be a campy cult classic, but many celebrities have had fans with fatal attractions. Kate tweeted this today: FYI-getting a lot of emails thinking I'm ignoring/forgetting u all. I'm doing my best 2 read&respond.Pls b patient w/ this busy girl!XO2all

Uh oh. Has she thought about the many other celebs who have experienced serious, sometimes even deadly problems with their fans? Here are just a few.

1. John Lennon's death. Mark David Chapman got John Lennon's autograph and shook Sean Lennon's hand (Sean was five at the time) just before he shot and killed the singer in 1980.

2. Selena's death. Yolanda Saldívar was president of Selena's fan club and worked her way up to managing Selena's clothing stores. Selena's designer quit because of Saldivar, calling her "possessive." When Salvdivar was accused of embezzling money, she fatally shot Selena in 1995.

3. Jodi Foster's stalker. In 1980, Ronald Reagan was almost killed by John Hinckley Jr., Jodi Foster's stalker. Foster spoke with Hinckley on the phone a few times when he called. "Over the past seven months I've left you dozens of poems, letters and love messages in the faint hope that you could develop an interest in me," Hinckley wrote in a letter to Foster just before the shooting. Foster has had at least two other stalkers since Hinckley.

4. Rebecca Schaefer's death. Robert John Bardo wrote letters to Schaefer for three years, showed up on the set of My Sister Sam, and sleuthed out Schaefer's private address through DMV records before shooting her at her front door. (After her death, the CA DMV changed its privacy laws).

5. Michael Douglas's stalker. Speaking of Fatal Attraction, fantasy became reality when an obsessed fan fell in love with Douglas and decided that his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones had to go. Dawnette Knight wrote in one of her letters, "She will be dead before she'll be able to blink an eye. Michael can finally be happy with his kids when the bitch is dead.'"

6. Sheryl Crow's stalker. One of her fans said that the singer was his "spiritual twin" and said they were "spiritually connected." Ambrose Kappos was arrested in 2003 after hopping into Crow's limo.

7. Gweneth Paltrow. Dante Michael Soiu showed up at her parents' house numerous times (where she often stayed), and sent the actress countless packages and letters. The FBI had to get involved. “I am more than a fan,” he said in one letter. “I have formed a soul union with you.” He was convicted in 2000.

Maybe it's time Kate get off Twitter.

It's only me, admin...Moose Mania. I couldn't resist the name. I hope the chickens, Shoka, or the betta (Fabio?) don't go missing. I'm beginning to think that Milo and Kate deserve each other - Kate feeds her neediness, and Milo lavishes her with praises. In biology it is called cleaning symbiosis among fish. Each gets what it needs for survival, and thus, it is a mutualistic relationship.

I don't know what happens, though, if one refuses to engage in symbiosis. I guess the bunny dies.

Allison J. said...

Milo was originally a poster at BM's site under Fired up 4 Kate and a lot of them were posting the information about her husband telling them he decided not to tell her about Kate's show going off because he was afraid what it might do to her recovery.

Also, I had completely forgot about 'Twist of Kate'. Someone needs to ask her that is on Twitter about that little show that never was.

I checked out the website for the clothing that Royal Gem wants to send her. Apparently they sell only pageant dresses, tops and frilly skirts for infants and toddlers, and it's sold at Sears. Bet whatever they send her ends up at the consignment shop or sold on eBay.

Lol

What talent is KG going to show people how not to parent or how not to dance or maybe how not to say um in ever sentence.?

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

This is not a knock at Kate, I just don't think that most people who are going to a conference like this are interested in a gimmicky celeb, any celeb. This is not a celeb trade show or bubblegum fashion line or something, this is serious stuff about internet marketing. People are coming there to learn and network.

I've been to a few legal conferences/seminars and the last thing I'm interested in is seeing some D lister there. I'm interested in learning and getting credits. There are conferences where a celebrity appearance makes sense, and there are many others where it makes no sense at all. And I don't see this one as the celeb type.

Hey Moose Mania, I checked out Royal Gem clothing website too. The clothes are impractical and too frou frou IMO. But you are absolutely right, the only sizes they offer are Infant and Toddler. How old does this person think the girls are? Their clothing won't even fit them! How greedy do y'all think Kate is? Would she accept these too-small, foo foo dresses from Royal Gem anyway? Straight to consignment!

Moose Mania said...

They probably saw them not too long ago sitting in high chairs with sippy cups and figured that they are still toddlers.
The only place kids could wear that clothing is on Toddlers and Tiaras, for Halloween, or to play dress-up.

Here's where taxes get tricky. Gifts from sheeple with nothing expected in return (other than an incidental tweet of thanks or two) are probably not taxable. But freebies from a company in EXCHANGE for publicity with the express intent that Kate will give them a certain amount of publicity, could be treated as income and taxable.

Mr. Tax Man is coming.

The situation with Elliee and her Christmas gifts is really bothering me. Let's ignore for a moment how wrong and disgraceful it is for Kate to be encouraging minors to send gifts to her at all. The fact that she knew how desperately Elliee wanted her gifts to arrive for Christmas makes it inexcusable for Kate to not check her deliveries to see if they had arrived. So I need to get this off my chest.

Dear Just_Elliee, who paid extra to get some gifts to Kate by Christmas:

I am writing this note just in case you or someone who knows you reads this blog. You seem like a lovely, generous young lady. If you paid extra to have your gifts arrive to Kate by Christmas, then chances are there should be a record of the actual delivery date. Check with your postal service. If they were delivered late, it is possible you are entitled to a refund. However, it is also possible that the gifts arrived on time, but Kate did not pick them up until today. If this is the case, this should tell you how little she values her fans' efforts. You made it very clear in your tweets that you were quite concerned about the gifts arriving on time.

I hope you soon realize that your generosity could be directed to others who truly are in great need, and who would sincerely appreciate your time and efforts.

I wish you all the best.

Oh...poor Kate. She's been moving since 5:41am. I just you know...I feel so sorry for her. *sniff* anybody got a tissue? It must be so hard on Kate to have to get up so early! The poor thing is exhausted. I mean isn't she just ever so wonderful to sacrifice her sleep to take care of 8, count 'em 8 kids all by her very lonesome? Quick! Somebody overnight her a free-cruise package to Greece for herself and her bodyguard because you know she dreams of it everyday! Yeah, that ought to make his poor single mother feel a lot better. Help her be a better mommy! Since you know poor pitifully financial stricken Kate Gosselin and her ex-husband are barely making ends meat to give the kids lunches and all. Kate is the only woman in the world who suffers just ever so much for having to GET UP and be a PRODUCTIVE person at 5:41! Oh, no, not 5:30, Not 5:40 but she needs that one EXTRA minute to enable herself to have the COURAGE, the last of her depleted STRENGTH to get up and slave over a hot stove to cook "the works" breakfast.

Sorry, but this is what I hear from Kate and her fans who send her all this free crap. You know, the ones who shout out to her in the airport and whatnot. Get a pulse Kate! Lots of people have to get up early and actually, um, honestly, truly, um...work for a living!

Really ticks me off she see's herself as this over-worked, exhausted mother. She isn't the only person to have a lot of kids and she sure as heck won't be a last. What? Do you just start giving reality TV shows to everyone who has 8 or more kids because life is just too hard and tiring? NO! But that's what Kate sure acts like. She wants a free pass on life from everyone. How can people buy into this??!!

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

She gives herself away too much. Obviously she doesn't normally get up with the kids at 5:45 (it's early, but no earlier than most moms with kids are up) or she would be used to it by now and wouldn't constantly be talking about how early she was up.

They wear school uniforms to school, polo shirts or turtlenecks, not Gymboree shirts. The other kids wouldn't know if their shirts are polos from Goodwill Thrift Store or from LL Bean, and they wouldn't care. A polo shirt is a polo shirt; a turtleneck is a turtleneck.

I'm just surprised that she still buys Gymboree since they cut off her free supply some time ago! I would have thought she'd boycott them.

Wanna bet? Especially kids Mady and Cara's age are old enough to get on twitter, seek out stuff like this, and turn around and make fun of them the next day for it.

This is not some heavenly touched by an angel school where everyone walks around on fluffy pink clouds, kids are kids whether you put a fancy name on it or not and kids are cruel. Kate has provided enough ammunition for these kids to be teased for years.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

To most adults a shirt is a shirt, 'tis true. But you have to put yourself in a kids' shoes. I vividly remember how important having expensive clothes was to some kids in school, most kids really. Labels were everything. At the time it was Abercrombie and Tommy Hillfiger. If you didn't have that it was social suicide. It doesn't matter if you wear uniforms, kids still see what you wear when school is out.

Most kids would be mortified if their mother were bragging about 3.99 shirts whether you wore them to school or not. I don't care if Kate finds a good deal, go ahead. But there is no sense of boundaries when it comes to her kids and what she shares with the world. That is the least of what she has done.

Yes, I would take you up on that bet. The shirts in question were little boy's 3.99 Gymboree shirts, which are not worn to school. First grade boys would not know if a polo shirt or turtleneck was bought at KMart or a high end store. I've been buying those school polos for many years, some from Sears, some from Bean, and never once did I hear that anyone teased a child because of his/her polo shirt.

Moreover, why would anyone tease a child because a Gymboree shirt was purchased on sale? I don't know any moms who shop Gymboree who don't look for that brand to be on sale.

&&&&

It's completely not the point whether the clothes are worn to school. The point is Kate made public to everyone how cheap the clothes she are buying are. This is embarrassing to many kids. *I* don't care i the shirts are 3.99 or 99 cents, who cares. Other kids DO. It has not been that long since I've been a kid that I've forgotten where kids' priorities are. A kid doesn't want other kids to feel like their family is cheap. The older they get, the more they will be hyper aware of a mom who is blabbing about things like this. The reason you didn't hear about anyone teasing your kids, is because I'm guessing good moms don't make it public to all your child's friends that little Johnny has a 9.99 Kmart shirt and not a 99.99 Ralph Lauren one. Good moms buy what they can afford but don't embarrass their kids if it's not the "best." Kate made PUBLIC she is buying cheap stuff and it's potentially very embarrassing to a kid.

&&&

Moreover, why would anyone tease a child because a Gymboree shirt was purchased on sale?

&&&

How long have you been out of school? :) Half of what kids tease about these days are clothes. Kids are obsessed with "status" and one of the best ways kids feel they can judge status is your clothes and how expensive they are. It's sad, but it's true. Good thing is, it's a phase (sixth grade to maybe...sophomore) and by the time I was a junior and senior we stopped hearing about clothes so much and kids starting talking about more important things, like college.

buddy said...

How does anyone know how Kate actually feels? How the kids actually feel? What she thinks? What the kids think? What her money status is? If the kids have any money in trusts? Does anyone really know who she is? Besides what she says on her twitter and blog posts.

Marie said...

Kids will make fun of each other for the smallest thing, just as long as nobody is make fun of them that's all they care about. It's either make fun of someone else or be made fun of. Nature of the beast I think.

You get made fun of is you don't have the right clothes, if you talk funny, if you're overly smart, if you have glasses, if you have braces, if you have zits, if you fall flat on your face in the lunch room in front of everybody.

But, Kate? Oh no, she has to make sure her children's classmates have access to seeing them be potty trained, yelled at changed, bathed, throwing up and who knows what else. Down the road this could potentially be disaster for some of the kids.

Kids start being mean younger and younger these days I guess. Probably. I was teased because I was socially awkward, had braces and all that fun stuff, the geek. But you get over it, braces come off and all that, people forget you fell and spilled your tray or that you didn't wear the coolest clothes. But what they will have a hard time forgetting is fact that these kids lives have been on TV, DVDs, You tube, in books, on audio, in photographs you name it.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Buddy, we've gleamed quite a bit from four years of Kate's own statements, as well as countless others who have firsthand knowledge.

Marie you are spot on. Kids will make fun of kids for the slightest thing so why must Kate constantly add fuel to the fire?

It will be hard enough on the kids being a multiple of six. Kids will tease based on that alone. Remember Clay telling Hannah, "According to science you're weird." He was clearly teasing about her being a multiple. It was sort of funny, but not really when you think about that's probably what these kids are going to hear a lot. Then let's add in a famous, psycho mother with a public web site and twitter account and blog, divorced parents, paparazzi, and hundreds of hours of footage available to anyone, even netflix streaming so a classmate could access it within seconds right at home.

Noone really knows Kate, Jon, the kids or their family or friends. You can read all you want but unless you have lived their life, how do you really know their situations?

You haven't done anything wrong, just explain a bit better what you're asking us to respond to.I am unsure what the questions are referring to.

Firedrup4kate and miloandjack are one and the same. For a long time I did not do twitter but saw FUK at several blogs and she was sick for a long time in hospital with something awful and neither husband nor doctors told her the show had been cancelled for fear she'd go terminal. It was mentioned and talked about in several places.
She is pathetic really.
Didn't know Kate had any interaction with Trump, let alone mussing his hair, but actually think it would be a hoot to see her on the apprentice. And if Trump didn't hate her guts he'd probably have her on and put her through hell for several episodes, giving maximum time to make a fool of herself. It would earn her more money and up his ratings to see such a trainwreck. So she must have really turned him off to pass up the opportunity. She'd be the worst but have to stay on and suffer for weeks just to make fun of her. Her hate ratio would be in the stratosphere. And what charity would she play for? You can't pick yourself, so that must have been the kicker.

Katie Cry-duh said...

Oh hell yes, the kids stand a good chance of being teased or snickered about because of the $3.99 shirt issue. First off, Gymboree is a "baby store" and while their clothes are cute, they appeal more to the parents than kids. Secondly, no one should know how much their clothing cost or if it was grifted or gotten on sale or whatever. Like admin said, boundaries. That's private information and in a kid's world, can set them up for ridicule. My kids went to a private school and the MOTHERS paid attention to the other kids' clothes at birthday parties, etc, asking where you bought things, etc. The kids didn't care so much, they mainly wear play clothes when out of school at that age. But no kid wants their peers to know that mom is a cheapskate. Also most parents on a budget skimp on themselves, not their kids.

We will never know if Kate accepts the clothing from Royal Gem, but my intuition says she will, and will sell it. OMG! IT is true. Just Googled Gosselin and Bermuda and this is what I came up with.

http://www.slideshare.net/andrewwilliamsjr/bermuda-diamonds-caviar-gala-for-january-2012

An event to bring awareness to pre-mature child births. January 13th - 16th There are a many stars coming with bigger names than hers. I doubt many Bermudians know who she is and btw, most Bermudians are not impressed with celebrities. Many may know that Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones chose to live here when their children were small, because everyone accepted them as "regular" people. No one fell all over them when seen in public. No one will care about Kate, except maybe that person who tweeted her.

One good thing is that it is not the "high season" in Bermuda. She is likely to be here in windy, rainy conditions which is common in January, February and March.

She is a Cow said...

So, if she is going to LV this weekend, she will also be away next weekend. The gala is Jan 13th to 16th. Mother of the Year! She proves it time and time again. Maybe 2012 will be the year she travels every weekend. :)

Susantoyota said...

Oh good grief. I'd love to see Salt-N-Pepa or Holly Peete Robinson get ahold of her when she starts spouting her usual spiel of being on bedrest for 30 weeks in order to decrease giving birth to the sextuplets too soon.

So she'll spend most of January away from the children?

Maybe she's hoping someone on Twitter will send her Gymboree clothes since she 'has to' shop on sale....and yes, kids are teasing younger and younger re: clothes. I found this out the hard way- things I liked were not 'cool' ( incl Gymboree) around this age...Funny, it was the designer stuff for boys that was mocked, and dresses etc for my daughter- jeans all the way. One reason a uniform is a good idea.

Not only will Kate be leaving for Vegas shortly (ie today or tomorrow) she will turn around and head straight to Bermuda to be part of an A-list crowd of people I've never heard of. Poor Hannah will never live down the "Hannah pooped..." moment. It's just so memorable, and when she gets to middle school the kids will torment her endlessly for it. What makes it worse...when I first saw that, I thought right away that it was staged. When the camera crew goes to the top of the stairs and the kids are all standing there, we hear a voice asking what's going on. One of the twins pushes Leah forward toward the camera and she comes out with the "Hannah pooped" statement. If it wasn't planned/staged, then why shove Leah in front of the camera? How did the older child know that Leah, of all the kids there, had something to say? Very much a planned moment, and one will follow poor Hannah forever.

She (?) says that she has a husband who makes her go to bed at 11 p.m. It was her "husband" who conferred with the physicians about not revealing the fate of Kate's cancelled show. Of course, there is no proof that this person is not a 500 pound ex Sumo wrestler named Takaji.
---------------------------------------------------

Anyone else think this story is fishy? How did the blogs find out about her husband keeping the news from her? Did a friend of hers or her husband share that news with the logging community? If so, why? They/he/she knew exactly which blog or blogs to go to with that information? It does not ring true for me at all. I tell my boyfriend a fair amount about the Gosselin blogs I read, but I doubt it's enough for him to seek out on his own and post on referencing my username, which I don't use for any of my other online stuff. I think she made the story up and posted it on the Gosselin blogs so she could look like the biggest fan to all the other sheeple.

_--------------------

I remember one of the crazier Tweeters reported this news on Twitter. Said she had email from the husband and MiloandJack was seriously ill following an operation - it might have been a hip replacement but honestly, who knows. She's been posting on the pro-Kate blogs for quite awhile as Firedup4Kate.

========================

I remember seeing all this when it was occurring, and it wasn't fishy to me. The posters at BabyMama's blog were discussing their concerns for Fired Up/Milo's health. Those ladies know each other and keep up by email. FiredUp (Milo) has been a poster there for a long time.

Milo posted once that she had some sort of bone disease where the bone actually dies--she gave the name, can't remember it. I do believe she was deathly ill and that her husband didn't tell her about the cancellation. Yes, I think it was Iwana who was getting reports from Milo's husband which they prearranged ahead of time.

However, she is so ignorant that she completely ignores the tweeter, and shirks the whole reason that she was invited (invited as a guest, not paid for her endorsement as a Non-profit rarely does that - she may have her airfare and hotel comped, but that's it) She doesn't know how to promote or draw attention to anything but herself and her needs. She believes being coy about this will keep the paps away. The problem is that she doesn't realize that the reason she is being invited is because she has some notoriety among the tabloids which will inevitably say something about the cause when they take pictures of her in Bermuda, which will draw attention to the cause she is there to support.
Instead-all Kate can see is "Look how popular I am. I'm so important, someone is paying me to go to Bermuda." *I'm so blessed*

BTW...I've never heard of this charity, so adding Kate to the roster was a pretty good plan on those who are using her for promotion to the masses.

I believe she posts her # of followers just before she goes to buy another increment of fake followers.

See, Kate completely reached the final stage of her diabolic plan. All the trips and fun and VIP, but NO KIDS TO DEAL WITH.

She wants her kids to have all the opportunities in the world? No honey, you want that just for YOURSELF and you know it.

How is Hannah ever going to live down the "Hannah pooped in Hannah's 'unerwares' " debacle? I think Khate even mentioned that event as one of her "Top Ten" or so-ish moments on one of the "Khate answers viewers e-mails" shows . Also, Collin and the decompaction of his poop in the van. Great job Khate. You really did your kids a favor having them on a reality show, didn't you?
++++++

Also the 8 throwing up on the boat ride. Kate say Maddy disgusting for touching Steve's pizza. The kids being put on the floor while being sick with the flu.

Typically a small time charity like this will extend an invite to 150 celebs hoping just a few respond. It's not like they necessarily specifically seek out Star Jones or Kate. They are one of dozens on a list they are hoping will be available. Of course Kate bit.

I completely agree. She would go to the "opening of an envelope" if it meant getting away from her kids and a free trip.

I live in Bermuda and I did not even hear about this event until I researched it myself after seeing the tweet. It sounds like it is a closed event, so I can't figure what Kate is getting out of this. She certainly isn't the one going around promoting children's health issues etc. Again, it seems she was included just for the fact that she gave birth to two sets of multiples. Other than that, she really has nothing to add. They were all born healthy and she had tons of help, so no struggle there.

As a matter of fact, I can't see the connection for most of the "stars" that are coming, unless they are purely entertainment. Holly Robinson Peete, is a spokesperson for autism, so she has a cause, but not sure about the others, aside from the doctors.

New post about this. I completely agree with the other poster, why doesn't she promote the hell out of this? Why act so coy? We're GOING to find out so might as well help this little charity. This is an event you WANT press attention at, you want paps there. She's so dumb!!!

Looks like she has told her agent/publicist to book her for anything she can find in a warm or glamorous place. If this junket was held in Iowa you can bet that she would not go, no matter what the cause. Poor kids, wonder who will be their baby sitter this week. It wouldn't be so hard on them if they still had the full time nanny that stayed with them all the time (the Asian one that obviously cared about them) or Ashley. How many has she had that we can count? A lot I am sure.

Friend=not a nanny.

Sorry friend, that poor lunch looks so dry I just want to gulp down a biggie coke. Add a little olive oil, salt, pepper and thyme to the sweet potatoes before, they will slide down a bit easier.
