Regarding the Gosselin children, who I have endless sympathy for....I would not really want to see them in a special because to me, they always look so beaten-down, unhappy, and sad. It would make me feel sad just to watch them. I think they are beautiful children who have been dealt a bad hand when it comes to the mother they got....and I feel for them.....but then, I guess nobody promised any of us a rose garden. I can only hope for the best for them in the future and can only hope that I happen to hear that good things happened for them years from now.

And as far as Kate's most recent marathon blog, her sheeple, and other odd and assorted observations go.....but first the blog: I picture a scene of an aging Kate....sort of a Blanche DuBois complete with southern accent, sitting at her table surrounded by 8 dolls she's made to look like her children (who have long ago left her)....addressing them (forgive me, being a NYC Jew, I can't do a southern accent here but will try).... (looks at the Mady doll) "Mady darlin, remembah when mama was the queen of the derby? Didn't I look lovely in mah feathered hat?"...."Joel dahlin...remember when mama ran that mile for you in the marathon? Dedicated that mile just to you, mah precious little boy?". Looks around the table..."wasn't I just the best mama in the world? You know that everything I did was just for you....for all of you, my 8 precious children....y'all know that, right?"
And lastly...regarding the sheeple and twitter and all that stuff....I'm starting to see Kate looking in the mirror with her old prom queen crown on, remembering the glory days....and managing to stay half sane by constantly preening, primping and bragging to all the pitiful sycophants and hangers-on, with a few clueless teeny boppers tossed into the mix (ie: sheeple) she has left....twirling around before them in her crown and sparkly heels, entertaining them with tales of how important she still is, how exciting her life is....and don't they just wish they were her and had her life. I found this on the R&R FB page in regards to someone asking about Kate and her golf cart. My question would be "what is bike support". Did 44K other racers get to have "bike support"?
Mike Clark: I was the bike support for Kate, I think she she did a great job. At mile nine she broke stride, went for her Jelly Beans, drop them and I moved up to catch her. Her friend said something to her and Kate looked ahead and up and over the railroad overpass she went. She was right on time for a 4:30 finish until we hit the mass of walkers that jammed the downtown area. She was fighting her way and never show signs of weakness. At mile 24 she got some kick and picked up the pace to under 10 min. miles. I agree publicity is part of it, but that's show business. I was pleased to meet her and friends, they were fun, great attitude, thanked me several times and the next day texted me again to say "Thanks"
Kate's Cart, wow I think that's the first person who has seen Kate complete the marathon from start to finish. I'm back to believing she finished this race. I think the best explanation for Ellen's timer is it malfunctioned and so they just used the stats from Kate's since she was right with her.
I assume bike support is someone who rides along with you to make sure you are okay, provide you with water and gel packs and anything else you need. They may be assigned to a group that Kate happened to be in.
I think it's time to give the Hippie chick drama a rest. We really don't know who anyone is behind a computer screen. All these accusations against long time posters are unfair IMO.

I have watched, though not participated in marathons. Yes, there is bike support. The bikers job is to watch for runners that are in distress and provide aid. In one marathon a wheelchair participant had a flat tire. The biker helped the wheelchairer fix the flat and stayed w/him until he crossed the finish line.
I wonder how many are in each corral then? Seems like a lot of water etc for one biker to carry, as surely there must be more than a hundred in each corral? Or maybe not..have no idea of course.

Apparently she did not read the info she was given when she got her race packet. It tells you where to look your times up. (Also asks that people not wear headphones, even though most people including her ignore that warning.) Any time I've done an event, I eagerly check the website a few hours later to see how I did! The last one was only 4 miles - wouldn't someone who ran 26.2 miles want to see for herself? Dummy.
I predict there will be a huge meltdown when the "fall" truly happens. We may never know, but surely whenever it occurs, Kate will disappear from tv completely. Hoping above all hope. Can't stand the sound of her voice.

What's weird is all the VIP treatment that Kate got for a D lister. I don't get it. Well, maybe I do. Kate has perfected the art of being famous for absolutely nothing. She excels at using the media and keeping herself in the tabs and mags.
The RnR Las Vegas was a dangerous debacle, they had 44,000 marathon and half marathon runners funneled into those corrals. Many racers could not get to their corrals due to the crowds so they went into what ever corral they could access. Family members were allowed in the corrals and it was so disorganized that the officials abandoned the "wave" start after only a few corrals. The upshot of this was that runners in those corrals immediately ran into a wall of walkers that had been in the wrong corrals. Other problems occurred at the "merge" of half marathoners and marathoners, apparently many runners/walkers were unaware of this merge so it became a huge mass of people trying to walk/run but , once again, a wall of people. Many people became violently ill during and after the race; the Las Vegas health department is attempting to determine if this was due to the racers being given water from unflushed fire hydrants. After the race there were thousands of people crammed into a hall in the Mandalay Bay hotel, they could not move for over an hour and many had vomited and/or passed out. This is just a small snapshot of the race and it's aftermath, it's a miracle that no one was killed. Of course, Kate did not experience any of this because she was treated with VIP kid gloves.
That's why I doubt the bike support story. How in the world, with thousands crammed into a small area, could he keep such good track of Kate, and even read her facial expressions..plus it was dark out.

What details did Mike Clark give that sounded so legit? How can anyone verify them? Kate mentioned her jelly beans and her pace. The only new detail was the bike support and anyone that knows about marathons could add that to make it seem credible.
I'm just not convinced he's legit. Maybe seeing his Facebook history would verify that. Does he have a longtime account? Or was it created new just to post in Kate's defense? Did he post pictures of the marathon? Previous bike support mentioned on his account?

I think it would be pretty easy when on a bicycle in a huge crowd of runners to mistake coffee beans for jelly beans.

ITA! The bottom line is Kate has lied in the past and she's been such a mean and nasty b*thch on video for all to see that she's earned herself a bad reputation.
She is NOT famous. Millions upon millions don't even know who she is.
Her last TV interview ended up being a laugh fest for the interviewers. I didn't see any of the usual celeb tabloid or talk shows clamoring for interviews after the marathon.
That's what is important. She's digging/tweeting/blogging her own grave and it's getting deeper by the day. Her fans are going to desperate and laughable extremes to explain away her idiocy.

Here is a link to a forum on a biking website regarding those that volunteered to help at the marathon. Bike support is provided to VIP's, celebrities, wheel chair marathoners. The bikers also helped to keep the runners in the appropriate lanes(full vs half).

I rode with Kate Gosselin which went pretty well. I had a little issue getting into the lot to park but traffic was so bad I just had my wife drive and pulled the bike out and rode into the meeting. I meet Kate and quickly found out that publicity was important, I was asked to ride in a mass of runners at night, text every mile, answer her managers calls and keep her and a friend safe and on time. It was all going good until we hit LVB at mile 13 and got dumped into 10,000 walkers we needed to pass. Once we got to the Fremont street area it was very tight going and I got bumped and fell hard, I dusted off and went on....no injuries. Next year I ride the mountain bike no clips and put heat pads in my shoes. The Madone with clips was hard to handle in the crowd. Most of the riders understood the bikes, but no one would stay in their lane. Few negative comments on the bike in the crowd which I understood. At the end I backed off for the Access Hollywood shots as she crossed the timing gate.
Kate is a tough runner, at mile 9 she broke stride, got rubber legs and I expected her to go down. As I moved in to help her she tried for her Jelly Beans and could not hold them. She then got words of support from her friend and she look up started to kick it and up over the railroad overpass she went. She held a 6 mph pace until about 2 miles out and then they picked it up for the finish. at times I set pace and got them in about a minute slow, thanks to GPS. Bands were super, I may not ride next year and run the 1/2. If I do not run I will be back for more bike support. Massive project, pretty well run. Zappos really stepped up for the event.
It's beginnning to get ridiculous that some people have to look for a conspiracy everytime someone actually shows that Kate did indeed run the marathon. Please give it a rest. Thank you.

My two cents. We discuss her because she is the epitome of the morally/ethically bankrupt reality "star" à la Taylor Armstrong of RHBH. Kate's pathology is fascinating because it shows how blatantly she will grift, how eager she is to ditch her children, how mentally dull devious, and unashamed she is. She has a sort of street smart for weaseling her way into situations where she can score freebies. Where it all fails is the persona she tries to project, she isn't a caring and available mom she's a narcissistic grifter with the perfect enabler (Steve). At some point she will fade away but it may be too late for the kids.

I think that is all of my questions, but I do have a few comments. Please don't take them personal. I have seen and experienced myself being corrected and what felt to me, belittling. I know that trolls roam and cause problems, so if you haven't done this it is not for you.
I am one of those people who can't spell with a darn and my writing skills are nothing I can brag about.
I am far from stupid. In college I aced English but ask me now, with out me studying first, and I will fail. My short term memory is fantastic and that is why I aced it. I hate it so much that, for the most part, I rarely write letters or anything at all.
I know I shouldn't care what people think but it would make my life so much easier if I didn't have to use my energy into fighting the hurt and embarrassment I feel when my flaws are pointed out. It would be nice if others would put their energy into not correcting others on non important writings. It is a real pain to go back and spell check everything, when really, this is not an official document where spelling and English is important.
And last, if there are accusations of cheating, does it get investigated? Or is it only if the people involved are important?
Oh yeah, I am also slightly dyslectic. That is another pain when it comes to spelling and correcting.

Okay so I had to run to the mall today for some quick holiday stuff. I happen to despise malls – even on non-holiday days. Yes, little known fact about me. The traffic, congestion, people, noise, distractions (ohhhh the shoes!) all overstimulate me and so when I must enter the retail scene, I do it with great haste….to get outta there fast!
So as you can imagine, my great haste was much slowed down today by unusually insane drivers in the overcrowded parking lot, jolly list bearers with urgency behind their smiles and never enough sales personnel to help direct or answer everyone’s inquiries… This led to a frustrated me as I really just wanted to grab a quick thing and get out (darn those odd children’s Christmas list requests!:)!
Of all of the aforementioned observations, though, it was the parking lot that honestly scared me the most!
I noticed a woman on her cell phone as she backed out of her spot with a car filled to the brim with packages. Had she NOT been talking on the phone, I doubt she could have seen what was behind her! Ohhh dangerous!
I also noticed a woman who was carrying some very large bags with a small child walking next to her, crossing the street…
Oh my…people, be careful and don’t lose your heads with the holiday madness! Be safe!
That’s my advice to you… Shop safely this holiday season and may your packages elicit huge smiles from the ones you love!

Watched the debacle of Rachel Crow's elimination on XFactor last night due to Nicole Scherzinger's inability to make the right decision. It reminded me of a certain someone when Nicole (the adult!)sobbed uncontrollably while the amazing Rachel (the 13 year-old!)tried to comfort Nicole. What is wrong with this picture! I agree the whole thing with the 3 of them running together is fishy, but their registration could be completely legitimate. ANYONE who had previously registered for either the half or full marathon could switch to the other one. All they had to do was go through some paperwork AT the race and it was no problem (Kate's and friends were probably handled behind the scenes). Seeing all of the preferential treatment she and her 2 new buddies received it's easy to see how Kate and one of the new friends switched to a different race legitimately.

I have noticed the Roloffs are having a special coming up. That was sure fast, seeing as they were just cancelled. However, I may watch it. I always wonder when that house will get cleaned up. I didn't know the Roloff's had another new special coming up. They already had one in the fall that focused on Jeremy going to college. It was boring, imo and shamelessly promoted Jeremy.
Kate did not say she was going to the KIDS' Christmas program, only that she went to A Christmas program. Jon went late morning, Kate went late afternoon. It COULD be school related, but she did not say.

Thanks Fidosmommy...42, I'm pretty sure that as much as poor grammar and spelling bothers you, my not being able to get it right bothers me. Add the wrong arrangement of letters from slight dyslexia and it takes forever to correct everything. It's as frustrating as all get out.
I've done all I can. It just isn't in me long term. You should feel the panic I feel when I have to list my job experience on an application and such, it makes me feel like I'm going to pass out.

Anonymous, I sort of know your frustrations. First, I have a dyslexic friend and second, I have the same problem with math. I get it all messed up no matter how hard I try. I think I am hardwired to not understand math.

Mike Clark said it all....he met her and her entourage and soon learned "publicity"was important. And " Access Hollywood" took pics at the finish line. We were right....it was nohing more than a publicity stunt and I would bet my bottom dollar she didn't lay out a dime for that trip.
I don't think Kate paid a dime for the Vegas trip. Can you imagine you're whole life revolving around keeping your mug in the media? You run a marathon and arrange photo ops and your manager is there hovering over you?

How? Why? Because Kate tweeted she was going to a program "later in the day" @ 2pm in the same tweet that she's finally making progress on her 'long list'. The program was held at 9am with no other programs scheduled at the school today.
Even if we believe the statement that she tweeted she was going in the morning and it didn't post, why would she have said "later in the day"? Later in the day means... LATER, not soon or yet this morning, but LATER. So... why would we not think she's lying about having attended the program?

The kids' school has various program times depending on the grades. Today's program was for the younger students and held at 9am. There are other programs scheduled for next week in the evenings and afternoon. That's a lot of programs for the administration to facilitate but it obviously works for the families and staff to break them up and do them separately.

As a mom of 6 and a small business owner (in this economy) I would very much appreciate a 'coupon blogger' to offer some helpful advise, not a diatribe of your shopping experience.
I want to tell her to 'get a clue', but in reality, she is mentally unable to do so.
It has been a long time since I had elementary school kids but I do recall concerts and programs at 10A and a repeat 'performance' at about 7p the same night. That seemed to accomodate a lot of parental work schedules and eased any overcrowding by a single performance. The morning program was always called The Dress Rehearsal.
It's now approximately 6:30 pm on the east coast. How is it she makes tweeting a priority during what, in most homes, is family time.

I truly believe that if Kate had zero expectation of any media knowing about the marathon she would not have pursued all the hard training that went into it.

Admin - Sorry this post is so long, but please allow it to go through. But OMG, did you remove my entirely reasonable post trying to respond to H.C.'s original attack? It was a relatively mild attack, but it WAS one. I only ever emailed her once, possibly twice, I requested blog access (via posts here) exactly twice (because I had really enjoyed her writing before the blog went private), and I don't even DO Facebook. I know you don't want to keep this going and neither do I, but H.C. is COMPLETELY WRONG and/or making things up! How can I defend myself? Amy I went through and deleted just about anything about that not just you. I have no idea what to think about it but I wanted to cut it off. I say something if I have a problem, if there is no problem, I just swiffer a bit to clean things up and get people to move on. It is, most of the time, not personal.
I'm not going to do a post on Mady's cute solo for obvious reasons, but it's a relief to see the kids doing something normal and mediocre. And at least one parent was proud and excited to be there and wasn't bitching about something everyone has to deal with. t suspect Mady looked forward to that solo far more than she ever did some 99th trip to somewhere.
Doing a post about the kids doing something normal defeats the purpose, but it's nice to see.
As for Kate's blog post, everyone has to deal with Christmas crowds if they choose to shop this late in the year and behaving like a judgmental scrooge, especially when she herself is an incredibly unsafe driver at least FOUR TIMES, is hypocritical at best. She is lucky to be able to shop on a weekday during the day when us mediocre folks have to work. Try Christmas shopping on the weekend, or even, on a weeknight.

There is nothing better than a parents support, no matter what the marriage issues are. Kids process things different.
When I was in about third or forth grade, we had a program. It was a time of turmoil for our family because of divorce issues. All through the program I looked for my dad. Mom had other issues so I knew she wouldn't be there. The tears swelled up so much I could barely sing. Then part way through the program I saw him and my stepmother walk in. I was so elated that I still couldn't sing for the biggest smile on my face.
It wasn't about the program anymore,or that he came late. It was about my dad and him loving me enough to show up. There was no way he could hear me but that didn't matter to him. I saw his face there and that made me feel special.
I get tears in my eyes when I think back to that day. How can any parent not want that for children. I'm sure he told me he was sorry he was late, but that didn't matter. See, it wasn't him watching a program. It was about him being there.

I find it kind of upsetting that the kids' school has a public facebook account. Most school websites that post pictures and videos of school activities, require a password to view them and that password is only given to the children's parents.

I also find it shocking that the school is posting videos publicly from private concerts and such. Even public schools don't do that. You can see the tups and the twins in many of them clear as day.
So much for the school being dedicated to protecting them. Baloney, they don't have the first clue how to keep celebrity kids safe and that's proof.
That was sad about grandparents' day. I hope at least Jon's mom was there. Little A. was trying valiantly to keep up, watching the other kids. That was cute. I couldn't really spot the rest of them. There was a time when I didn't miss an episode but haven't watched in so long now, have a hard time picking them out in a group.

Both Collin and Joel couldn't keep up with the other kids. They were the only ones really not keeping up. Did the nanny forget to take them to practices?

Oh, I know what you mean! There was a time or two when I didnt have a parent there and it was sad. I can remember the times my mother joined with other moms for school or church projects and how proud I was.
I have 4 children, my eldest is 36. Every single event they were ever in, they would squint their eyes and search for me in the audience and smile so big once they found me. My husband (who is not their father) always chuckled that he could tell when they spotted me coz they beamed like babies on that stage.
A few years ago my eldest got her M.Ed, and at commencement it was the same thing. She searched till she spotted me and beamed away in that mass of caps and hoods down there. And she was 33 years old at the time! when our 3rd daughter was on homecoming court in high school, her dad said he wasnt coming to the crowning 'if your mother is going to be there.' WTF? That daughter is 30 now and I dont think she has forgiven him to this day for playing that stupid 'angry divorced parent game' at her expense.
Dwindle some people are easily overstimulated, I am one of them. I get irritated and frustrated beyond what I think is normal. I DON'T go Christmas shopping this time of year, I do it throughout the year or buy online. And it's because of crowds. I prefer small groups when I go out and get overwhelmed by big ones--it can be truly debilitating--sweaty palms, confusion, etc. But I try not to bitch about it and drag everyone else down around me. Instead I try to avoid situations that I know are going to agitate me. Like everything in life, mature adults find ways to cope with weaknesses instead of crying like a baby and certainly not by rambling about it on a blog.
Easily overstimulated could just be something she is sensitive to, or it could indeed be something like Aspberger's or ADHD, which Kate could have.
I thought Kate didn't notice other people. Or is that only when she is judging them does she notice.
Admin, of course you are right. Thank you for the input. :) What you describe, I have on occasion also. I call it claustrophobic, since my first reaction is that there is not enough oxygen for me, all those other people are breathing it all. (actually a PhD psychologist told me that was claustrophobia, but she was a friend, not treating me.)I apologize for my snippiness.

Thanks to all of the great posters here, and Admin for this blog. I believe we all/most really care about the 8 kids, hate the exploitation, and want the best for these kids in the long run. Kate's antics over the years with her children has been alarming, so I think the majority do care about the best interest of the kids and wish nothing but the best for them. Kate makes most of our blood boil for a number of reasons, usually having to do with her projection vs. what she acutally does as a mother/selfish person.

Any bets on how long it will be before Kate takes off with her BF again? I'm thinking she will at least go into NYC for a day or so before Christmas. She's probably already getting twitchy from being with her kids.

A week ago tonight, my sister's husband got up about midnight, which woke her up. In front of her eyes, he had a stroke. In the squad on the way to the ER, he had a heart attack. TPA medication was started in the ER 70 minutes after the event, then he was life flighted to another hospital.
They are both recently out of work and have no insurance. He is 60. He is recovering nicely from the stroke, but needs a valve replacement and double bypass. They sent him home today and wont consider the cardiac surgery for another 2 months, due to the stroke and other conditions. They will file bankruptcy and likely lose their condo.
Please hug your family members a little longer this holiday. And dont spend too much emotion on a mentally ill reality tv aging has been.
I do enjoy and appreciate this blog and each of you regulars.

I'm not understanding this. So because six kids are in first grade and two are in fifth grade, then NOTHING from those classes should be put on the website? Because the Gosselins happen to be in the school, then all of the other kids in the class have to give up their rights to be videotaped and not see on video what they have accomplished? Or perhaps the eight kids should have been standing separate and apart from their classmates when this was taped?
How is the school not protecting them? Protecting them from what? What danger are they in here? It's not like they have never been on camera before, or plastered all over YouTube.
If this was put out on the internet, then wouldn't a parent or guardian have given consent or signed a blanket agreement that these kids could be taped or photographed? If not, and this was made public, then I would think that Kate has a very legitimate complaint, and she should be ripping them out.
Sleepless in Seattle, schools can and do make videos with their kiddos. But they either make them password protected or put them on sites you have to log into. Simple as that. Even public schools have the sense to do this.
I don't believe any school should put school videos of kiddies on the internet and I think many parents would agree.
Dwindle -- Prayers for your BIL. If he hasn't already done so, he should get in touch with the local Social Security office and file for disability benefits. He may not be eligible, but if he is, the paperwork can be speeded up that way. Also, if he's eligible for SSI based on need, that would also be speeded up and afford him some basic medical coverage.
I don't have a problem with the school posting the videos of the concerts. I don't see it as an invasion of the kids' privacy. That may be because the cable company where I live has a local access channel dedicated to the school districts. They carry all the school concerts and awards ceremonies as well as all public access parts of school board meetings, so I'm used to seeing this sort of thing regularly. I did watch part of the videos. Mady has a nice voice and she obviously is one of the better singers of the chorus, since she keeps getting solos. That young boy who sang in the second video is also very good.

Not trying to be obnoxious at all, but most hospitals have Charity Care to address these type of issues, so this may or may not be a solution. I am so sorry your sister, brother-in-law and family are going through this.

There's a private school in my town that's very similar to the one the children attend. It's a Quaker school with sound academics. The decision to put some of the class events on the Internet and available to all was made by a group of admins, parents, teachers - class parents and others chosen by the school. Not everyone was thrilled but it's not possible to make all parents happy. What's viewable is selective. The kids and parents like that they can share links with friends not in the school and with relatives who may not be computer literate. I'm not saying this is how it is at the G's school but it's a possibility.
If this, or a derivative of this, is how decisions are made at the school, Kate is out of luck. She'd be smart to sit back and be quiet.

One of the winners was a woman who covered every part of her SUV with "watch Kate plus 8" and help up a hand-made sign in a Wal-Mart parking lot.
This is certainly one for the top 10 list.
These kids can't be protected for their entire lives. People seem to be pushing for them to be involved in sports, gym, etc. so that the have interaction with other kids and can have some kind of normalcy in their lives.
What if they are taped then? What if a parent of a ballet student happens to put the video on the internet? Is it the responsibility of the gym class to protect these kids because they were ONCE celebrities? Should every parent have to sign forms agreeing not to upload any videos that contain pictures of the Gosselins taking part in track, or on the basketball course? Where do you draw the line?

Some runners accept the fact that there are "paid D listers", others, especially those that got sick or needed or saw people that needed medical attention are po'd and won't bother spending their money on another R&R marathon since non of the registration fees go to the actual charity. I never knew marathoning could be so full of bs. I thought runners did if for the thrill of the run. Sorry for those that get eclipsed by the crap when people only want publicity. Looks like a lot of it is backfiring which is too bad for a very worthwhile charity. I Kate had a brain or one bit of integrity one would think she would try to just be an athlete that she is trying to claim she now is instead of going to the "celebrity treatment". Why would he comment on other runners? He was assigned to spot or accompany Kate, whatevr the term is. Riding a bike is that crowd was a challenge in itself. I doubt he was watching other runners very much.

I was following up on the youtube video of Mady on Khate's twitter (mentioned by Permanent Name 142, above). Until now I did not know the name of the G8's school, but another one of Khate's fanatic (in Ireland) tweeted the name of G8's school. Kate's fanatic, Paige-something, tweeted she'd browsed the school's many videos, so I went to the school after no success on youtube.

Sorry, I don't agree. If Kate, and all of the other parents signed the consent form, and the school wanted to post videos on its FB page (which they are) then it's not the school's responsibility to "protect" the Gosselin children. Why should they go private just because the Gosselins happen to be in two of the classes?
Whatever, I think the video is cute. Anytime a group of 1st graders sing, it's cute. All the kids are so tiny in the video because of the wide angle, so I'm not seeing such a big deal. It's nice to see them being ordinary, not special, merely 6 kids amongst a bunch of others. But I DO think Kate will have a conniption fit because like another poster said, no one profits off of HER kids but her. It's so sick that any parent would think that way.

Perhaps the "no filming, no pictures" contract was between the school and TLC. Once TLC was out of the way, the school was free to film, snap and post whatever it wanted, no matter what Kate said.

That marathon is doing damage control, even coming to their CEO's defense, when there's nothing worth defending. What is indisputable is that he and his wife did not run the half marathon, said they did until they were outed, and accepted finisher's medals until outed. If they would defend that kind of bullcrap, why not try to squelch the cheating rumors about Kate. Whatevs. She has no credibility or integrity and her blog post about the marathon is filled with more lies. She has none of the muscle tone a real distance runner has. IF by some chance she did actually run the marathon, she has no one to blame for the naysayers but herself.
But I don't think Kate consented or why did she act upset about this? I've seen public schools be more protective of their kids, all their kids. Not just their celeb kids. There are some serious issues if this school is posting videos without permission, if that is the case. Knowing Kate maybe she signed off on something and forgot about it, she's just that dumb.
I'm afraid that's the first thing I thought about poor Joel and Collin not keeping up with the hand motions, no one helped them rehearse at home. Sigh.
fidosmommy - I can relate. My father was an accounting professor, and I have trouble with basic arithmatic. He gave me up as hopeless (in regard to anything mathematical) when I was about 10. I just can't grasp it. OTH - I'm very good at grammar and spelling (at least, when I remember to proofread LOL) and, oddly enough, did quite well in chemistry, too, even though there's a mathematical component to it.
I meant to say, in my earlier post, that I think Kate overlooks Joel so much because he's the kid who's most like Jon in temperament. Cara has his athletic ability, but she's not so much like him in personality.

I feel like collecting a lot of past negative articles & referencing negative youtube & tv clips of Kate and sending it to Rod Dixon in New Zealand by postal mail. I bet he really doesn't know that much about her. The articles & references would not be tabloidish but authored & voiced by people with influence. He needs to know how many respected people have blasted Kate for the past 5 years. It would give him a different perspective of her. I read on Preesi's comment pages that someone thinks Paige looked, saw and maybe even posted the school video. I have no idea if this is true, so I'm not stating that as fact.
The kids are sextuplets. There's a possibility that they're motor coordination is a bit behind. I find it very sad that first, the videos were posted here and second that the kid's performances are being dissected. Their motor coordination may very well be developing more slowly than kids who mature as a singleton in the womb.

Thanks fidosmommy. I was able to find the video of the 1st graders. It does look like two of the tups were struggling with everything but rolling and clapping. Another was doing well with the help of his friend to the left. It wouldn't be that hard for Khate to practice the routine with the struggling ones. Oh, right... she wasn't around to do so, and if she was I don't think she'd be patient enough. So sad that Khate's eyes are so blind to the truth of it all.
I don't know that I'm as interested in the Sound of Music video.

Watched the video more closely. Yeah, the boys look like they're struggling to keep up. Aaden is resourceful, the other two look defeated. Kate, your neglect is showing. Well, my daughter and I watched the Sound of Music video. Did anyone else ff/watch it through the end (I did both) ? At about the 17 minute mark there are two very talented singers. I was impressed with their singing "Climb Every Mountain".
I also noticed the site had 201 plays today, one yesterday, and zero for other days listed. The cat's out of the bag with this one!
I agree that it was Paige who outed this school site, Sara who mentioned it to Khate, and Khate who was (apparently) surprised that it even existed. We shall see how this unfolds.
I also noticed the two boys struggling with the hand movements to the song. I think it was a lack of anyone actually helping them to practice at home. Frankly, I can't imagine Kate helping them even if she was home, that sorry excuse for a mother can't even buy them clothes that fit. Calling her a mother is an insult to mothers everywhere.
I think it's so sad that people are pointing out negative things about the children in the school video.
It's not negative about the kids, it's negative about Kate and her neglect of them. It would take 10 minutes a day to help them with their song so they would be ready like the other kids.

I doubt the kids would see it that way. Just rationalizing. It is sad to see the kids being picked apart this way.
Honestly -- I haven't watched the first grade video, but the fact that the kids are HOMs shouldn't make a difference in their motor skills by now. The tups are 7 1/2. They've had pre-school, preK, Kindergarten and they are 6 months to a year older than their classmates. They should be more than caught up in motor development. A lot of people have been saying for a long time that at least some of the kids are delayed, either innately, or due to parental neglect, or because Kate has deliberately infantilized them to play on the "cute" factor. Either way, they've been done a gross mis-service.

I don't think motor coordination had a thing to do with the kids' troubles with the motions. Once they saw what they were supposed to do, they were perfectly able to do it. They just didn't remember what came next. One watched very carefully to see what to do, and two did what they remembered to do, which was clap and hit their elbows mostly.
It is entirely possible that they didn't learn the motions because they were not interested in learning them. If they thought it was boring, or their friend said it was dumb, they may have decided to block out what they were being taught.
I did that with tap and ballet. I hated tap and ballet, and so I never really learned my steps.
Ditto violin. But put me in a pool and I could do whatever you wanted me to do. Put me in front of a microphone and I'd sing, right on key too!
Different things thrill some kids and bore the
stuffing out of others. Bored kids are not good
at learning their stuff.
