Just before Kate jetted off to Las Vegas, she was spotted in the Lancaster area at none other than ... McDonalds!
According to a very sweet employee who works at the Lititz, PA McDonalds (via Facebook):
XXXX XXX
Kate has spent the better part of the past year and beyond constantly talking about health food. In fact even today she was bragging about a veggie burger and some rice and sweet potatoes. Maybe she cannot keep up with the lies anymore and just needed to chow down on a Big Mac? We don't blame her. Dear, Kate: Quit the act and admit it, you just want a nice juicy burger sometimes like the rest of us mediocre.
To put it simply:
Blech!:

She was on The View a long time until Baba fired her.
I agree that Kate has unusual combinations of foods. For example, sloppy joes and steamed broccoli/cauliflower just don't "go" in my mind. It's healthy, no doubt. If her kids will eat it, great. But to my mind, sloppy joes call for another vegetable choice. Mine would be raw carrots and/or zucchini since tomatoes, green peppers and celery are probably in the meat mix.
Veggie burger, sweet potato fries and a veggie salad sounds wonderful to me. It's the rice that has me scratching my head. I don't get how it fits in. But, it's healthy, probably tasty, and I hope she enjoyed it.
She adds in the constant mention of veggies in her kid's meals because she thinks that makes her an awsome, health concious mom. Not that her saying it means it was what was actually served. She probably has no idea what the nanny fixes for the kids, or what Mady and Cara fix for them when it's the nanny's night off.
Eating at McD's isn't a sin.

Which is exactly why she is persona non grata there. She quit before she got fired, knowing the pink slip was coming. She quit on the air. That really ticked Barbara Walters off.
Admin, Star Jones is a very slender person now.
Sherri S. is working on being one. Maybe that will help you figure out which woman it was.
Well, don't forget that the constant mention of veggies that the kids eat is a subtle way of letting all the moms whose kids refuse to eat veggies know that once again, she's a super-mom.
It's a balance she's walking of being everymom that you can relate to and super-mom you want to emulate and learn from.

I guess it was Sherry then. She was, well, chubby.
She has to make a living don't you know! She can't just work at 7-11!
Why Sherry, WHY can't she work at7-11? Sure the paps might show up for a few weeks, but they'll grow tired of the same old photos of Casey Anthony ringing up slurppies and move on.
And so what if the paps show up, she should have to deal with the paps. She put herself in this situation. Yes, she is obligated to work a REAL job as opposed to exploiting her dead child. There is no excuse in existence for exploiting that dead child. I don't get why some of the slightly smarter ladies don't just question her on this stuff. If it's so bad she's in danger SHE should have to pay for her own Steve to protect her. End of story.
On the ABC news website, they are reporting about Kate and her cruise. Every single comment from people is negative. LOL.
Well, all African Americans look the same, right Admin? No harm, no foul.
I finally had time to read today's local newspaper. There's a regular column that reports happenings around the area. This one was about Lady Gaga, who was once again seen on Saturday at a local rifle range.
The author writes, "For over a decade, we have been deprived of world class celebrities" (Jose Greco, a famous Pennsylvanian, died in 2000).
Ouch, Kate!

my world....no one even KNOWS Kate!!! Not EVEN!
Star Jones is invited to Bermuda and she and Kate will have lots to talk about. One of the reasons she's a persona non grata is that she grifted shamelessly on the air for freebies when she married that gay dude in an over the top wedding. Another commonality: Star repeatedly lied about not having gastric bypass surgery just like Kate STILL claims she's all natural except for the tummy tuck. Good point. They know and have known for a while. I wonder what their father tells them to keep them sane.
I don't know what I didn't think about this earlier.
Kate went to McDonald's not for coffee, not for their fries or the price of one quarter pounded the second one for a penny. No. She went to get a job application!
Kidding, but I just had a laugh at that because at the bottom of my screen since we've been talking about McDonald's it has Job Applications as a link.
I was thinking about how crazy life is sometimes. These sheeple are in a frenzy going on and on about meeting Kate, changing vacation plans just to go on this cruise, $4,000 is a great price to pay for a cruise - they don't mind spending it because they would do anything to meet her. Paige, the young gal who would die to meet her, and her friends are begging for help from Ellen. One commented that she has never been so depressed because she can't go.
I, on the other hand, don't have to spend a dime, and I walk in the opposite direction if I see her coming.

And the amount can be staggering. Using round numbers, if Katie's pulling $500 a pop and gets the 200 suckers that's a cool 100 grand.
The albatross around her neck has got to be the school. Again, using round numbers of 10 grand per child per year times 12 years ---that's a million through high school.
Assuming she gets through this year, how many other scams can she run? Katie runs a lot of scams but they all seem to be the one shot pony variety. Could she actually run the cruise scam again?

McDonalds is a great place to eat, in my book. They have some of the best low calorie options out there among the fast food chains. Super Size Me was one of the reasons they did start adding healthier fare.
Speaking of Super Size Me, Tom Naughton did his own McDonalds related video, Fat Head. I highly recommend it.
The bottom line with eating is just use your common sense. Watch serving sizes. Use www.myplate.org to help see how many servings of each group you should have at a meal. Get up and move 60 minutes a day (on top of your regular walking, standing, yard work, housework, etc.) My husband was just diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and just by making some of those changes we've both lost weight. I won't say simple - change is hardly ever simple or easy. But it is possible to do.
If only Kate and Jon had thought to explain to the
diaper company how much they appreciated Pull Ups when the kids were toddlers - so quick to change 6, count em 6, children who all need changing at the same time. That might have bought them some Pull Ups commercials and paid for Kate to have her own yacht by now. Who needs Royal Carribean? She could be fleecing the sheep without having to give RC or Alice a cut of the proceeds.
Also, Trader Joes Yukon Gold Baked French Fries have less calories, fat, carbohydrates and sugar then their sweet potato fries, which someone earlier suspected were her "homemade" fries.
I like sweet potato fries but they're not any healthier for you then fries made homemade from regular potatoes. It's how you prepare them that matters. It's kind of like the term "organic". It's a label that means nothing unless you know what went into the process of creating that food. The Michael Pollan books are interesting reads if you want to explore this topic in more depth.
I bet Kate ran off the McDonald's if she is still running that is.
The train reck Dance Moms is back. I always feel so bad for the girls. They are being treated so horribly. I did not watch the show but I think we all know whats going to happen.
The albatross around her neck has got to be the school. Again, using round numbers of 10 grand per child per year times 12 years ---that's a million through high school.
___________________
That's too low. In the next few years, double it.
I'm also watching Dance Moms for the first time, other than just skipping to it when channel surfing before. I didn't realize this is filmed in good ole Pennsylvania!
It doesn't seem like the kids are filmed at home, which is good. Their home is still HOME. And it looks like they are only filming at practice and competition, not too much outside that. Also good. The problem here unfortunately is not so much the filming, it's that crazy dance teacher. She actually blamed a child for her mom not being there because mom had to work. How horrible to make a child feel bad about a parent earning a living.
I think you can help a child get to the top of the dance world or whatever world they are passionate about without being so disrespectful to them and their moms.
Maybe someone can explain to me how this works. Someone on another blog, a fan, is reporting that she will be one special Kate ticket, and the other seven going will buy regular tickets. Huh? You have to book a cabin for either one or two. The agency doesn't give one person the $1900 cabin rate for the person who wants the ticket, with the second person in the cabin getting a lower ($900 rate). It's a package deal. Additional people in the cabin pay the going rate for that cabin, not a discounted rate because they're not interested in seeing Kate.
Am I missing something here?
Here's something interesting. I was reading on another blog and someone heard from the agency about the cancellation clause. Kate, according to her contract, can only cancel in the event of extreme illness or death in the family. The cruise would still go on but you would get a refund on the price of Kate's events only.
Which is how much? How do they figure how much each event is worth? This sounds like they are putting a price on the events listed on their webpage - the private barbecue, the cocktail party, the craft lesson, etc., but they will not refund the cost of the cruise.
I would have red flags about this. The cancellation policy is sketchy at best, and certainly not detailed on the webpage.
Kate, according to her contract, can only cancel in the event of extreme illness or death in the family.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Ah, the one time it's to everyone's benefit Kate estranged her whole family. She doesn't have to worry about issues with family members that will pull her away from this trip.
I know an actor with a part on a TV show who once had a family emergency with a close young relative overseas (as in, relative was on life support and almost died) and left suddenly and production had to halt production and rewrite an episode. The network (one of the big four) SUED. Lawyers handled it all and it all turned out okay in the end, but it was a bit scary for them. The network meant business about their "you better be there" clause in the contract.
My biggest problem with Dance Moms is the way Abby treats the girls. She clearly has a favorite and all the other girls are always trying to Abby to recognize them and their talents. The favorite girl is treated differently and with so much more kindness then the other girls. She is also respected more then the other girls. The moms are exposing their daughters to a toxic personality. They know that its wrong but they still do it. I agree that for the most part they are filmed at the studio and competitions. There are a few times where its in the home but only for short moments.
No insider stories without verification please.
Admin - delete 38? There's no need to get this going. These kids deserve privacy - especially at school.
Admin, you did, apparently at the same time I was typing. Thanks...
Admin were you talking to me? I posted what I saw while watching it last season.
Ah dear Milo/FUFK is tweeting about how great the conference in LV has been, mentioning some of the sessions and all happy about what Khate has learned and how she can use it. Bless her heart.
I have been to too many conferences, given to have someplace to spend the budget money for professional ed hours, demanded of people in certain professions in order to keep certification. Sure, Khate is an add-on but come on, I can't tell you how boring most of it was and how little I learned. Well, it's hard to keep my attention anyway unless you are a great speaker and get on with it. After the keynote, it's pretty much naptime for 3 days.
Nope, not talking to you Annie. :) To a school "insider." To anyone at the school tempted to post private things like that, you've come to the wrong place. We all know the kids are going to have several screwed up years ahead of them, you are not delivering shocking news, and it's a severe violation of their privacy to spread that around.
Back to Dance Moms, it's like a train wreck. What really is crazy is how much the moms fight with the dance instructor in front of the kids. Calling her a whore, bitch, etc. I saw an episode during the marathon this weekend where the kids were sobbing at how upset the fighting made them. It makes me wonder if this stuff is normal, or if they are encouraged to fight so much out in the open like that for the cameras. Seems to me most adults have fights like this behind closed doors. But I'm not involved in this kind of thing at all and never was.
The Dance instructor has serious issues. She knows nothing about child development, appears to have had one f-ed up childhood, and dismisses anyone who doesn't agree with her reign of terror as "white trash." Can you imagine trying to explain to your dance instructor they are being too hard on your kid and all of your concerns are dismissed as "white trash"? Good grief will someone be an adult?
Admin: I agree the kids deserve privacy when they are at school. We all know that they are going to have a hard time. School should be a safe place for the children.
"Well, it's hard to keep my attention anyway unless you are a great speaker and get on with it. After the keynote, it's pretty much naptime for 3 days."
I am surprised that Kate is not twitting during the talks. I was so tempted to text during some of the talks. Her handler/pimp Steve must have her phone on lockdown. It can be boring to have to sit through talk after talk all day long.
The hardest conference I ever went to was Lake Tahoe Nevada. The room the conference was in was right next to the lake. The room had nice picture windows. They had to close the windows to keep our attention. I can tell you that most of us had our minds out side during the talks. I also got the final rough draft of my masters thesis done at that conference. Its amazing what you can get done when you nothing else to do. I got 90 pages written that weekend. It went up to 112 in the following weeks but that was because each picture and diagram had to be on separate pages.
I also don't seem to ever get much out of conferences. I try, I really have. I sit there and pay attention and collect handouts and participate. Still usually boring. I've been to some of the top conferences in my field including this program called NITA. Just couldn't get into it.
I think at the end of the day it's a learning style thing. Either you respond to a bunch of like minded people gathering together to learn from a speaker, or you don't.
I wouldn't blame Kate for being bored too, but it's still funny!
I also hated the "break-out" sessions where the instructor gave an exercise for the class to split into groups to do. The main benefit is the instructor doesn't have to prepare for the whole afternoon. Give a topic and then discuss the rest of the day. Bull heaped upon bull. Interferes with the writing of the masters thesis, and the daydreams you are settling into, and makes you think less of the enthusiastic ones in the group who are oh so turned on by the whole thing. But, like I said, I've done this too, too much. Now I expect to be engaged by the speaker, not die a slow death.
I really think kate eating organic is bs.She wants us to believe she does it...like going to church ect.
I think kate feeds the kids crap she wont eat to have the control. YOU will eat this. You will eat what I give you or ELSE!!!! I'm sorry...I just dont see 6 year olds being ok with eating a salad. My 15 and 16 year old still wont touch a salad. They want chicken strips and french fries.Hell...I started eating salads when I was 20 something....
Food is all about control for kate. You get what you get and you dont complain.Be lucky you eat!
So kate eats at McDonalds...who really cares...JUST STOP LYING about it.You'r lies are what pisses people off.

Warmth of the Sun: Curious about your info on cruise cancellation. I don't believe we know any details of whatever arrangement Kate has with the cruise line. I doubt her "contract" would be the same as that of a regular passenger. If she didn't show up, or somehow didn't "fulfill," then she most likely doesn't get paid, but other than that I don't think we know any other terms. As far as participants in the program, the Alice Travel web page on this clearly states that there are NO refunds based on the Kate portion of the program. If for someone reason she doesn't show or doesn't do everything as advertised, you don't get any money back. Did you see something elsewhere that contradicts this? I imagine it would be an important point for someone who was paying for it.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. Milo usually has a schedule when to post based on when she thinks Kate might show up. She usually bombards Kate's twitter with 10 tweets or so asking ridiculous questions or showering her with compliments. If she's unsuccessful in getting that treasured tweet from Kate, she repeats in the evening.
BM has no mention of the cruise yet on her site. I would think that as an uberfan, she would have been the first to book. This will be interesting.
All I can say that for those fans who overpay to book the cruise, it will be a learning experience. They will get to shake Kate's hand and stare, but if they are expecting Kate to be their bestest pal, they are wasting their money. I guess it takes Kate doing another shakedown for money (like at the churches) for these sheeple to realize that it's all about Kate and her extravagence. It's actually kind of fun to watch them foam at the mouth and gleefully hand over their money to someone who could care less. She's a user, sheeple. While you guys stay in cramped cabins, she will be lounging around in a huge suite, comped, with purse boy doing her bidding. Remember sheeple, she will make on this cruise more than most of you make in one year, and doing it by taking a vacation on YOUR DIME!
Well, well, it seems that on the same day that we were having a giggle about the "AKO" label that the Sheeple love to use when referring to us, the ZiggyFlo site decided that we shouldn't be called AKO's any longer because we don't deserve it. Methinks they were doing a little reading on this site! We are now simply to be called "haters". I would agree with the hater lable--we are haters of hypocrisy, deceit, the use of innocent children to fuel one's own financial interests. And, for that matter, we are haters of someone who is so low as to take advantage of their gullible follwoers for financial gain. So I say, let's wear the "hater" label proudly.
Peace out
Layla
oops, that was supposed to be "label" and "followers". Not enough caffeine yet today.

I don't think a celeb has to honor their fans or is obligated to do cruises and be nice about the fans or anything. I think it's perfectly acceptable for a celeb to keep a clear distance from their fans and not engage with them except on a very benign level, like a form letter from a fan club.
Here's the thing, most "fans" are not the crazy obsessed that demand to just breathe the same air. Take Brad Pitt. A lot of people like him and his work. Most people wouldn't bother to see him if they had the chance, much less spend money to see him. 99% of his fans are just normal people who like his work and think he's easy on the eyes and like his family. THOSE people keep him popular and they don't demand anything in return other than Brad keeps making good movies and stays pretty. The 1% that DO demand cruises and meet and greets and write him letters are just that, the 1% who are obsessed lunatics. Why should he have to accommodate a minority of crazies? If anything, he should steer clear. I think we're in the same place with Kate. There are probably some mothers out there who haven't really SEEN the show thoroughly to realize and just think Kate is doing her best and like her. They are rational enough to just say "oh hope she has fun on the cruise" and leave it at that--they would never go. And then there are the few crazies on twitter who would sell an organ to go. One is the majority, one is the crazy minority.
What does Brad Pitt (or Kate for that matter) owe his fans? Nothing except to keep making good movies and to stay pretty. And if he sees one of the street, to be respectful and gracious to them of course.

It was reported on another blog by someone who contacted the agency and that was their reply. More than that, I don't know. This is why I said I was skeptical of the whole refund thing because it is not clear in the disclaimer on the Travel page. There are just too many loose ends. It didn't say that Kate would get paid if she didn't show up. It just said that her contract states that if she doesn't, the reason has to be for illness or death in the family. It also said that since Kate would not disappoint her fans unless it was a real emergency, they don't expect this to happen. The poster said that this comes from the "nice person" at the agency.
Take it for what it's worth. Sorry, more than that I don't know.
Admin, I wonder if you're addressing my post on the last thread about celebrity cruises. I think what I posted came out wrong and clarified after another poster called me out. In that case, the cruise is a venue for many, many fans (and only fans) to hear the genre of the music they like for several days at one place. Anyway, I addressed it on the other thread. Sorry if I made it sound Kate-ish, because it's not.
I am not a twitter user, but it is my understanding that Kate could just make her account "non-public" and then no one could see all her ridiculous tweets and comment on them unless they follow her and she has not blocked them. Is this correct? If so, why won't she do this. Seems to me that would greatly lessen the occurance of nasty hater tweets.
I just saw an article on the KG cruise, and there was a quote from the travel agent that made me spit my coffee out:

Re: Bermuda - I have to say, there really is not much mentioned about this Diamonds and Caviar Gala coming up this weekend. The two local papers have had articles addressing the charity and I got an email alert yesterday from Bermuda Tix that they are now offering the tickets to anyone willing to spend $1,000.00 a plate. I don't think it will be well attended for two reasons, 1. the price and 2. the timing. This is Bermuda Race Weekend. It is a big deal here. Many athletes come to Bermuda to participate including Olympic hopefuls etc. It takes a lot of volunteers and there are many events surrounding the races. People are doing those things.
I saw in the paper yesterday that there is a
"sample Bermuda" happy hour event Friday night for only $80.00 per person. No confirmation any of the "many stars" will attend, but I thought, AWWW I can't go. I don't have a skin tight, fully sequined, crotch showing dress to wear. Besides, my kids have Cub scouts and gymnastics on Friday nights and I am happy to spend my time driving them back and forth than spending a minute with Kate.
BTW the Gala sounds like a drunk fest. Starting with vodka shots and caviar and then a 5 course dinner with wine pairings. Kate will be smashed, as she said at the Kentucky Derby, she is not much of a party person....or drinker ;) Maybe she'll fall in the harbor.
She is a Cow, are you going to any of the Bermuda Race Weekend events? That sounds like a blast!
And yes, that happy hour event sounds like a joke. $80 per person? Wowee. I think a lot of us will be interested to see how this whole weekend shakes out.

I don't quite understand the purpose of this. Wealthy people getting together to flaunt their wealth and raise awareness of the plight of under-insured or non-insured parents who have premature babies? Is it just me, or does this whole thing seem to be just really strange? It sounds like just an excuse for a lavish gathering of nouveau riche to get sauced, using the whole public awareness thing to justify it.
If I'm wrong, let me know I'm wrong and point out how valuable this experience is to parents of preemies, because I'm just not getting it.

Layla, the PR folks are putting a vertigo-inducing spin on the "overwhelming, light-up-the-boards response" to Kate's announcement about her cruise.
Yes, Kate gets a tremendous amount of response, with the vast majority being negative.
That said, I think it is a no-brainer that if Kate needs to draw 200 people for the cruise, she will. Remember, she does have a following that I think would shell out the money to hang out with her/be in her presence. This Kate Cruise has been getting a shocking amount of press (again, how does Kate maintain this level of presence in the collective zeitgeist?)
Fans of celebs and entertainers across the board do this all the time, be it on a cruise, or backstage at a meet and greet.
There's one born every minute and for some fans, sadly, they live for the celeb and would sell a kidney to meet him or her.
Re: private twitter. I think Kate likes 'negative press' via open twitter because she thinks people are' jellus' of her and she wants us all to see what a fun fulfilling life she leads and how she does it all for her kids, super mom, super runner, super speaker, super-health/germ freak/organizer ad nauseam.
I believe that one reason Kate is keeping her Twitter public because there are lemmings out there who use her tweets as "news". They quote her in an "article" and each time they publish a mostly verbatim copy of Kate's tweet, Kate gets more press and yet another handful of banal articles that pop up at the top of a Google search. Sometimes her tweets get picked up by one or more of the rag gossip TV shows, and she gets another blurb. Sometimes it leads to another "record straightening".
She's staying relevant. She's been very savvy at playing the fame game for a longer time than many of us have realized. If fame and grifting could be an academic achievement, Kate would not only have her PhD, but she'd be spending the rest of her life producing consecutive post-doctoral theses to be published in the Annals of Pop Culture, and studied for decades to come.
Tucker's Mom, really? You really think she'll get 200 people to pony up about $3000-4000 to be on a cruise with her?
I tend to think the opposite: she and her publicist and Alice Travel are greatly overestimating this. On the Cruise Critics Facebook page, all they did was mention it, and there were over 500 comments, with only a handful neutral and even less than that positive (2 or 3). And even the positive ones weren't fully in support of her. The rest were ALL along the lines of "GROSS." Or "WHO?"
From that sampling of people who cruise, I'd tend to say she won't get 20. But time will tell! If we don't hear anything from her about the numbers, we'll know they were super low, just like that benefit lunch at the Australia Zoo. I'd bet my right arm no one bid on it, so the zoo employees had the lunch with her.
There is almost always wine served because happy relaxed people will more readily donate, and, children are not allowed to attend. While the meal is being served, there are various speakers. It may be MCed by a local television or radio personality, b a board member or Executive Director. There will usually be people that have benefitted from the charity--for example, a previously homeless person that was provided transitional housing and social services. Then, there is usually a PAID speaker. I have see Lily Tomlin, as well as Al Franken. This speaker is not necessarily tied to the charity--it is a paid job. The bigger the charity, the bigger the name. At some point, participants are asked to pick up the envelope in front of their plate, and to donate. The table hosts collect the envelopes, but, usually, have no idea what the individual donations are. There may also be a live or silent auction.
I know that there will be a barrage of outrage over the irony of having fancy events to fund starving children and the homeless. Believe me, the irony is not lost on many of the participants. But it is an effective fundraising template, and most charities employ it because it is enormously successful.
I don't think I have seen the actual word charity, or tax deductible donations. I'm not familiar with non-US charities, so can't comment on whether they have the proper designation as a charity granted tax-exempt status in the US. As I already said, I am skeptical about charities that use the term "raising awareness", because it mean they can justify any kind of activity without actually contributing to the defined problem that they have addressed in their mission statement.
Since Kate is a known cheapskate (not a potential source of donation) I deduce that she is a paid attendee, and probably a speaker--which, yes, would cover her travel and hotel expenses.
Given how little info there is about the "Foundation", and how recently it was founded, seems very over-the top.
Re: Dance Moms.
I call "staged and scripted". Every minute of the conversations between the adults is staged. Why else would 4 grown women stand or sit in perfect rows all the time? Why else would they take turns getting upset with Abbey Lee? When Holly is mad, the others are OK with Abbey. When Holly is OK with Abbey, Christy's mad. And so it goes. When they have something of substance to be mad about, they are quite refined in their choice of words. When they are mad about nonsense, they blow up at whomever the script tells them to be mad at.
It's almost formulaic. Everyone say Hi. MADDIE'S ON THE TOP OF THE PYRAMID AGAIN??? Now, girls, dance, even though you have no idea what the routine is for this dance. Chloe is feeling unappreciated. OK, Melissa, your turn to find some insignificant thing to rant about - if you can't think of something, we'll find one for you. Moms, go out for a drink, but you have to be here with your girls and now Abbey's going to yell at you for not being here. Next trip is this Friday to Seattle and it's a Championship Event. Everybody dance! Yea, we got First place and Maddie gets a crown. See you tomorrow!
I can do this with Cake Boss, too. One script,
just weekly tweaks.
“She really does have a following”
It's called a "flock". I hope Royal Carribean has a livestock carrier.
Spot on, Ex Nurse. I've had a taste of this fundraising stuff as an invited guest. Our friend was on board for a local Boys/Girls Club. VERY good charity. However, he lived in an affluent area. They put together a very opulent affair and he was a table host, so we went - one lady even donated a million dollars on the spot! As I sat there, I wondered about the same clubs in the poor parts of town, serving the kids who need it the most, with no permanent, state-of-the-art facility, but held in a church basement or whatever. They could never get a gathering like that together. The people in the crowd we visited would never go to it if they even got it together. We gave nothing and went home and sent a check to a much bigger club in an impoverished area. I was a little disgusted and we declined the invite the next year. He didn't invite us after that because he needed people who would give money. And that was fine with us.
I find it sad that donors have to be wined and dined before they will write those big checks. Silly me, I thought charity was what you did out of the kindness of your heart, not because you got a really good Beef Wellington and tubs of champagne. Yes, I understand it's a tried and true method. I just find it sad.
Diamonds and Caviar...and $250.00 Shots of Vodka...and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS)
My DH pointed out the irony of a vodka company associating itself with premature births, since FAS frequently is the cause. FAS children have an average IQ of 68 (100 is normal), small heads, low birthweight and are at greater risk for seizure disorders, behavioral issues and a host of other issues.
Way to go, Kate!
Still nothing from the bimbo on Twitter. If she had gone home to PA last night, wouldn't she have tweeted "happy to be home with the kids" or some other big lie like she always does?
Maybe she's leaving LV later today, or maybe she's on her way to Bermuda already?
Either way, we know from her Twitter silence that she's still with Stevie and not her kids.

----------------------------------------------
I totally agree, as most of here do. This is probably the most tacky, selfish charity event I've heard of. The only possible way it could be tackier is if the cause was hungry children. Such a waste of resources in the long run. It sounds more like an excuse for a luxurious party, with the secondary purpose of raising enough money for to pay for this single child's medical bills. Poo on Khate for entertaining the offer, though it does suit her. She'll be in fine company.

====
Isn't that the truth. I used to watch Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmare's but I finally gave up because it was so predictable. It doesn't matter which it is, in all these reality shows it's the same routine over and over. It's come down to where if you watch the first five minutes and the last five minutes you haven't missed anything except to find out who won, who lost, whose house is nicer, whose the biggest bitch, blah, blah, blah.
As for that Attila dance instructor, she's a real piece of work. I watched her and the dance moms on Anderson yesterday. They're right on par with Kate as far as exploiting their daughters go. If that woman ever talked to my kids that way, she'd end up in traction.
Diamonds, Caviar and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
Just to correct my entry #76--Since one of the missions of this "Foundation" is to raise awareness of the causes of premature birth, it is the height of HYPOCRISY to have a vodka company as a sponsor of the event! It would be like having the high fructose corn syrup council host a fundraiser to raise awareness for late-onset diabetes in children!
Auntie Ann, I'm with you on the traction thing.
I was a competitive swimmer on a nationally ranked AAU team. Many of us started our swimming programs when we were in early elementary. I was 4 years old when I started and didn't quit until my second year of college. Our coaches wanted state, national, international and Olympic champions and were willing to do what it took to get them. (We had one team member bring home a medal from the Mexico Olympics.) They pushed us to be the best. But we were treated very well. I don't recall ever being yelled at, belittled, shamed,
or dismissed. I didn't get things my way, but
I was never in tears after a practice or a meet
because of something any of my coaches said to me as a child, a preteen, a teen or an adult.
And the head coach during my High School years was a school teacher. He emphasized that school and homework took precedence over swimming, hands down. Parents appreciated him. And still he made champions.

**
Grifter, the only thing you are missing is sheeple logic. They can't understand the concept you have outlined. I thought the same thing - how is she going to pull that off? Stay in a room by herself? That will cost even more.
Sheeple logic - gotta love it!
~~~~~
As for Dance Moms -
That Abbey is crazy, I don't understand why the moms don't pull their kids out of her studio. I would never subject any child to the ugliness that comes out of her mouth.
Fidosmommy, next time I catch an episode I will have to pay closer attention. Your theory sounds accurate.
I don't watch Cake Boss - I find him very annoying.
~~~~
I don't think kHatie attended any seminars at the conference. She was there for a meet and greet happy hour and that is all. Milo is delusional (as usual) if she thinks "Kate is learning all abt "networking" ...."marketing"... w/the best of the best! This will help her provide 4her kids! :)"
Milo's elevator doesn't go up to the top.
*floor, I meant top floor!
Twitter silence = she's traveling/vacationing
I doubt she will return to the "orphanage" before venturing to Bermuda. She is somewhere "alone" with Steve right now.
Kate has no interest in learning how to work a real job, so why would she attend any of the seminars? It was strictly for her a chance to make bucks for a meet and greet vacation, get away from the kids, and be alone with Steve. Geez, how stupid can these sheeple be!
I wonder if she'll blog about the things she learned at this workshop. You know, like on Coupon Cabin, the people who sent her there?

________________________________________
You would not believe how many people called us looking for a non-competitive dance studio after that show started airing. It scared them! Not to mention the fact that we know our families are the reason we have a place to teach in the first place--it's all about honoring the kids.
Fidosmommy alluded to this, and I agree--if you treat a kid well when you're a coach/teacher, there's a pretty good chance the kids will stick with the activity longer. There's also the role of the parents--be supportive, but don't be overbearing. Let the kids decide on their own whether or not they enjoy an activity.
If the parents treat their child's activities as chores, or the coach/teacher puts too much pressure on the kids, the burnout rate skyrockets. It's sad, really, that people don't recognize that about kids. They can suffer stress and burnout just like grownups. (ie, the kids aren't working, they're just playing in front of the camera)
I was never in tears after a practice or a meet
because of something any of my coaches said to me as a child, a preteen, a teen or an adult.

fidosmommy - And I'll bet you look back on that with good memories too.
There's a difference between disciplined instruction and flat-out bullying.

It's called "Kate Gosselin Syndrome". They're putting their daughters out there so THEY can be on a reality show. There are tons of dance schools out there, but hey this one is on TV.
Fahnette - I completely agree with everything you wrote. Glad to hear there are sane parents and teachers out there. Of course that Abbey woman is the exception and the reason why she has a reality show. It's just too bad it's at the expense of the students' mental health.

========================================
I doubt she learned anything. I'm pretty sure all she did was attend the meet and greet and pose for pics in her hooker dress. I'm sure she took off to be alone with Steve ASAP.
You can absolutely mold Olympic champions without disrespecting kids, agree hands down. I used to take someone to a gymnastic studio that had trained some Olympians. It was supportive and respectful. It was a happy place for kids as it should be.
Push, but don't bully. Work them hard, but don't torment them. Criticize, don't demoralize. Model how adults should behave and talk and don't be children around the children. Abbey has it all wrong.
Auntie Ann @87,
Unfortunately, you are probably right. What a shame for these girls.
AuntieAnn--it's the right thing for us to do. We want to be a safe haven for kids who are too shy to compete, who have disabilities that can be served by dance classes, for families who want more from their child's dance education than a $20 plastic trophy and stress lines and body image problems at the age of 9.
Abbey can turn out good technicians and she can choreograph, but aside from that there's nothing she does that sets her apart from other studios in a POSITIVE fashion. There was a stretch during enrollment during which every single call we took started with "Have you seen that Dance Moms show?"

Grifter, I asked my friend Kristen, who is still in the travel biz (it's been awhile for me), and she said it is possible that two people could book a room, with just 1 of them paying for the katecruise and the other paying the standard rate. Travel agencies are in the business to make money so if a couple wanted to take the cruise and the wife wanted the Kate package and the hubby did not, then she could pay her $1900 rate and he could pay the standard rate. Hubby would not have access to Kate, but wife would.
Kristen also commented that "With a dud like Kate to have to sell to the masses, they'll get rid of those tickets any way they can." She's so sweet! (Kristen, I mean)
Layla
From what I gathered on Anderson Abbey doesn't have any children of her own. All I can say is Thank God for that.

Yup, fidosmommy touched on this also. I don't think Khate's anything more than CouponCabin's spokesperson. I hate to say "spokesmodel", but that pretty much seems to be her job. Just a 'famous face' for CCabin to show off. There was no reason for a blogger to be there, she has nothing to do with the business process itself. Did she attend a single panel? I don't think she even writes her own sh*t for the CC site. Don't know why, but in this job of hers she reminds me of the ladies who show-off the prizes on "The Price Is Right", or Vanna White just turning letters with a plastered smile (no offense to Ms. White at all, she's a legend).
If Khate did attend the conference to actually learn a few skills, someone should have told her to change her clothes. That glitzy dress was so inappropriate. What a laughing-stock; she is totally out-of-touch with the real world. I would have been mortified if I were in the same position.
Grifter, I asked my friend Kristen, who is still in the travel biz (it's been awhile for me), and she said it is possible that two people could book a room, with just 1 of them paying for the katecruise and the other paying the standard rate.
___________
Layla, thanks for checking that for me. I do know that when a friend of mine wanted to go on an oldies type cruise with a band, it wasn't possible to do that. His wife had no interest in the meet and greet, or the show, but they held fast to the package deal per cabin. It could not be split up. I guess in Kate's case, though, your friend is right - they want to sell as many tickets as possible!
I was reading some of the tweets on Kate's page, and if TLC was ever interested in doing a show on adults behaving badly, that would be one place to start. I've never seen such malicious, vile comments thrown at others (as well as sex preference name-calling and accusations) as they do on there. There are one or two regulars on there with such disgusting foul language.
I occasionally check the twitter feeds of a few reality show stars (not TLC) and those pages are not used as a private chat room for mud-slinging at one another. It's just the celebrity, reporting on events and everyday events, with people occasionally commenting. I have never seen it used as a battleground between two opposing forces.
Is this common on Twitter?
I doubt she learned anything. I'm pretty sure all she did was attend the meet and greet and pose for pics in her hooker dress. I'm sure she took off to be alone with Steve ASAP.

If you look at all the companies that registered for the Affiliate Summit, it looks as though it could be in the thousands. Kate is probably disappointed that she was just a little frog in a big pond of mediocre people trying to make a buck. How awful for her. Bet she thought it was a gala event like the Emmies.

If they sell 7 bookings but only 1 books for the kate kruse she (kate) will only get credit for the 1 that specifically booked for her kruse so she loses out in the end.
Is this Bermuda thing a PAID event, is Kate being COMPED or is she there to DONATE her money. I am very curious as I could only see the reason she would need to leave her 8 kids alone again would be if she were being paid. Making money is one thing. Flitting off on yet another vacation seems just wrong at this point. Kate would not be a celeb if it weren't for her kids, yet they have seemed to reap no reward for THEIR work. Now that the little ATM's aren't spitting out enough $ to please Kate they seem to be left behind.
She claimed she liked the show because it gave her the chance to show her kids the world and give them experiences. Yet now all of a sudden that is no longer important. Now it seems it is only important for KATE to see the world and gain experience. Her kids??? Left in the dust, only to be mentioned so that it will garner KATE attention.
The whole situation is beyond pathetic. Nope, cant be a nurse because she would NEVER be home. It seems to me her kids would actually have a normal schedule with lots of quality time from both parents if Kate would wake up and realize it is better to have a schedule and security than having to flit around grifting as a "job"
Reality TV has churned out some of the most greedy, entitled people over the last few years. I am so ready for these Zlisters to be out of the press. There is a difference in being notorious and famous. They just don't get it. Its sickening to see these people change from season 1 of their "shows" into season 2 once the money and "fame" comes their way. ugh Our society is waay to encouraging of these no talent hacks and stand in line to buy their perfumes, clothes, books. What happened to having talent and an education? Why do people give their hard earned money away to make reality show "stars" millionaires? I will never understand it.
It seems once you have had a reality show you can milk it for a good 5-10 years of D list appearances and shilling crappy products.
EM
EM, I just love your posts. All of them. You are awesome!
Kate's choice of clothes speaks to her lack of self-awareness. This became painfully apparent on "Dancing With The Stars." She is either ignorant or arrogant. Not sure which label fits, but I'm feeling the need to take a long break from this topic. Best to all.
this is a bit OT but...I was just reading on my Yahoo Trending that Teen Mom 2 'star' Leah Messer, who had twins at 16( one baby is handicapped ) and is divorced, is now engaged and expecting a SECOND set of twins! She apparently has Kate Gosselin as a role model and says she wants her own show like K+ 8 and her own 'brand????' just like Kate... I've heard everything! This girl is 19.
Apparently CouponCabin used a chunk of their $$$ to make Khate their attention grabber.

Dear Admin,
What happened to the blog? Like the font, don't like the format-basically the lack of numbered posts and 'load more' function to see more posts. Is there some way for you to switch back to the old format or is it a Blogger thing?
Also, the 'newer, newest' at the bottom of the page is gone.
No idea I haven't touched the blog. Looks like blogger is experimenting with a new format.
Me no like! Tell them to knock it off! ;-)
Oooooh, I don't like it either.
I liked the old format better if anyone is counting votes...
I have no idea of whether this will go through, but the font has completely changed on 15 Min, and the comments no longer load. Not a browser issue. It looks like a Blogger (or some other) scripting issue.
Only the first page of comments on this post show, and there is no link to move to "newer newest", just a "load more" link at the bottom. It doesn't work.
Milo has really crossed a line. This is an exchange today from the person who tweeted yesterday about meeting Kate and Steve at the Titanic exhibit and whom Milo then pounced on. Milo's final comment asked what she thought of Kate; the woman didn't answer until today. Take a look at milo EXPLAINING Kate to a total stranger! What the f--- is up with "uses a different part of brain than the rest of us"? As in the "nasty" part? This woman gets closer to involuntary commitment every day.

@XXXXX LOL...she has that type A personality...very driven & uses a different part of brain than the rest of us! Thanks 4input!
From Preesi's site via http://news.lalate.com/category/kate-gosselin/
The website doesn’t detail how much Kate will get for the new job. But Jo Piazza, author of Celebrity Inc.: How Famous People Make Money, tells news that a typical celebrity could make twenty-five thousand dollars to appear on a cruise.
What is the draw to have Gosselin on the ship? The cruise operator says travelers will be able to “learn a new craft from the professional herself”. It remains unclear what professional craft Kate actually knows.
The new UI for the blog is awful. IE won't load anything but the first page so I switched over to Chrome and I really dislike Chrome. The "load more" works ok except you must click that button repeatedly as it only seems to load three or four comments at a time. Blogger, you screwed the pooch on this one.
I see Kate is on twitter silence again. Perhaps CC will have a meeting before they fly home.
I read a article that said someone had called the Alice travel to see how many people are going on the Kate cruise: well they said the response was over the top, their phones have been ringing constantly. I guess Alice Travel is in Wonderland. From the cruise critic: 45% of the regulars who do cruise and other articles, it's been almost 100% negative. Who is fooling who?
New UI doesn't work on Firefox. It's a mess, and comments after Jan 10 won't load.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
this article is from October 21, 2010. CC got this funding last October. They used it, in part, to buy whatever they hoped Kate would do for them. There's no point to CC except venture turn-around. This little enterprise was never meant to make money for anyone but the guy from Sears and his first-tier cronies.
They're pushing coupons. How long do you think they'd have to be in business to recoup 54 million?
PS - using a browser I hate to see this. Can't use my "real" browser.
Also, having to constantly punch that load more button is a real pain.
Gift of grab, I think Milo is certifiable too. My husband IS Type A. He thought of getting a tattoo once, just a typewriter key with an A on it! He does NOT treat people like that. He gets things done. If anything, he has trouble delegating. He is meticulous in appearance and cares what others think. He is a pleaser and the most giving person you'd ever meet. He would work himself to death before stopping if he hadn't learned control through counseling. Kate considers all these free trips and appearances working her fingers to the bone to support her 8, count 'em 8, children. She doesn't know what work is. And she's not Type A. She just a bitch.

I have been wondering the same thing. The whole thing seems very shady. To me, the whole "Syncairly Yours" charity seems to be set up to just pay off the founder's daughter's medical bills and it will probably then be disbanded. We all know the only charity Kate is involved in is the charity of Kate. If Kate could figure out a way to get paid for taking a crap she would. She does nothing unless it's free and she's getting paid to boot. I have no idea how this "charity" is pulling this off.
Okay, I'm going to feel really stupid asking this, but what the heck...I'm due for a stupidity comment this week.
Where did 8, count 'em 8 comment come from? I am guessing Kate but I can't remember ever hearing her saying that. Changes re I am so wrong and just missed it. Either way I think if she said it that it's just plain tacky to point out how many kids she has when half the world already knows.
Second, I am beginning to doubt that Kate and her little world will ever be brought down. Will she be one of those who will never have to get a real job again? Will she be able to skate by on her whole thing of having 8 kids? Huh...family I go to church with has 10 kids, I don't see them asking for handouts or crying poor constantly. What is so hard on Kate that she can't hake it again? Pure laziness.
Whatever with the new format, we'll all adjust if need be but I think maybe this might be temporary, like when they change things around on Facebook and people cry foul enough it might change back.
Apparently Blogger has implemented "threaded" commenting, which means you can reply directly to a comment and it will likely indent to that comment. Okay, that might be okay, I guess. Except as usual, they didn't work out all the kinks before implementing it, and now the comments are messed up.
Since they JUST put this in place in the past few hours, let's just be patient with it and give them a little time to work out the kinks. I will also look around to see if you can opt out of this change they didn't bother to ask anyone if they even wanted!
It is a known issue, we aren't the only ones http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/blogger/thread?tid=3d432d804ad2a1f2&hl=en
On the bright side, apparently I can now change what I call "comments."
I changed it to comments/sediments.
Ha-ha, awesome!
For instance it now says:
322 comments/sediments
WTH? I can't get to anything using my iPad other than the first group of comments. I kept hitting "load more" but apparently it doesn't want to. I don't like this new format. I had to actually get up and go to the "real" computer. Hope they work the kinks out soon.
Anyone else having problems loading the Newer and Newest post pages?
Um, type A people don't have different brains. I am Type A. Many lawyers are. It's just a personality theory to describe a certain personality. It doesn't excuse being rude to your bodyguard, treating your kids like dirt, treating your FANS like dirt, and all the other terrible behavior from Kate.
You're still expected to be a decent human being, Type A or not. You should also try to control the negativity qualities of your personality and not excuse yourself as just, well I'm this type or that type.

I'm sure the blogging world is raising Cain about this, don't worry I'm sure they'll work out the kinks soon.
Blogger, blogger, blogger!
Until they fix the comments you might want to click the "subscribe by email" link below the comment box and get new comments delivered by email to you. This is just a script directly through blogger, I don't see your email address when you do this.
It appears you need Java to get the "load more" button to work.
I saw the "sediments" right away. Too funny!
Yeah, it doesn't work on Firefox, I went to Opera to read the latest post, when you hit load. I thought, this site got hit with a virus, or my computer did or you got hacked.
No virus. It's not you or me. It's Blogger. Posts with high number of comments will feel the burn more.
On behalf of dummy blogger, sorry!
That anonymous test was me. I have Firefox and it seems to be working. That load more feature is kind of a pain but I like the idea that we can reply directly to the sediments. (ha good one admim)
OK, I just noticed it said number of 'comments/sediments' above. That is hysterical!
As usual, AuntieAnn, I agree with your sediments!
Agreed. Type A personality doesn't equal rude. The kids can't do anything about it, the sheeple accept it, and judging from Steve's comments over the years, he seems to excuse her behavior.
Whatever. The only ones I feel bad for are the kids.
I'm using an iPad and the 'reload' button works ...... with patience. I do not like the ability to post replies directly because they are way too easy to miss - every blog I read is in chronological presentation, and I'm just soooooo used to that. Our community here can really get going and I'd never be able to keep track if I had to go back and forth looking for new comments AND the directed replies. . This does explain how another of my blogs all of a sudden went flooey, though.
She's not a Type A personality. The clinical term for her is asshole. She has a huge case of assholitis.
Touche!
If I just said "Sediments" do you think people would be confused?
I giggle like a schoolgirl at dumb jokes like that. So be it.
Not that I'm a fan of his, I think he's another fameho, but Dr Drew said Casey Anthony "doesn`t seem to understand how her behavior impacts others, whether it`s a little girl or those of us that are watching her behavior and so outraged by her lying. She doesn`t perceive those things, and that`s a brain mechanistic issue."
And of course Kate Gosselin came to mind while he was saying that, but I really think Dallas Lady has dx'd Kate much better with assholitis LOL!
bearswife I like your hat. Canadian eh? We love our beer!
I think she's Type A, it's more a way to describe someone rather than a diagnosis like narcissisims, which she also is.
She certainly isn't B:
Type B
The Type B personality generally lives at a lower stress level and are typically:---no, Kate is always stressed
They work steadily, enjoying achievements but not becoming stressed when they are not achieved.--not Kate at all.
When faced with competition, they do not mind losing and either enjoy the game or back down.--Kate won't stop until she wins it all, even beating her own kids.
They may be creative and enjoy exploring ideas and concepts.--She's not creative at all and has no motivation to be creative. If she's being creative it's because she stole someone else's idea.
They are often reflective, thinking about the outer and inner worlds.--Ha. Kate thinking about stuff?
What the HE double hockey sticks happened to our blog? I had to try 3 different browsers before I could get anything and I still can't load the most recent comments. If anyone is taking votes, I don't like the new format!
readerlady
AuntieAnn, I got my hat at Dollarama for St. Pat's Day - time for a new one (and yes, I love me a cold Kokanee!).
But here is some exciting news that might make blogger's idiocy palatable. I signed up for email alerts and there is a link to Post a comment from within the email. When you click on the link it opens up a new blogger window showing only the comments AND you have the option of "«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 342 of 342 Newer› Newest»"
So, while bloggers new system still sucks, this makes navigating comments a bit easier.
Hm, I wonder if I change the options to open comments in a new window it will go back to that old format.....
What do you want to bet that the few tweeties who are saying that they are "on board" with the kruise are only doing so to garner a pat on the head/shout out from the queen bee. They have no intention of going- they just want the attention.
Ah ha! Comments much better now.
We'll stay on this format if that works for folks until stupid blogger fixes their debacle.
As for KAte, could the woman be any more transparent? Not a single darn word on twitter now that she's with Steve. At least make some of an effort to PRETEND she gives a shit about the fans when Steve is around fully stocking her narcissism.
miloandjack
@XXXXX LOL...she has that type A personality...very driven & uses a different part of brain than the rest of us! Thanks 4input!
Well, Milo at least she HAS a brain, I think...more than we can say about a certain sheeple who is ready to be committed.
"fully stocking her narcissism" heehee. You're so bad admin.
i have been trying to post flr months..yeah new format
In regards to a comment awhile back about the kind of people who would support Kate.....I have to say that sadly I've seen this kind of thing in practice. There are two kinds of people--those that support people no matter what, and those that have boundaries and draw a line somewhere.
There are family members and friends and loved ones who support the criminals in their family, and there are family members and friends and loved ones who don't. And the ones that DON'T support them usually make out better. You can see this very clearly on Dog the Bounty Hunter. Some family will happily work with Dog to catch them. Some will do whatever they can do hide them. Enablers. BOTH types really love the person, but only one type is really doing what is best for them. And it's not the enablers.
It is my firm belief that most of Kate's die-hard fans who are fully aware of who she is, are the enablers. They are the same people who would hide their druggie criminal friend in the closet from Dog, making excuses for them, etc.
I do not believe we should always support whoever we love, or who is like us (other mothers, women, SAHM), or who has it tough, or who has been good to us in the past, or who is our child, or parent, or whatever. And I also believe that if you keep clear boundaries against these toxic people no matter if they are your own family and friends, you will be much, much better off in life.
Okay, for a bit of brevity (after helping a friend with her resume all evening) I went to the twitter account of the shaunaelovesyou. She is obsessed with Joe Jonas. I would take everything she says with a shaker of salt. She talks about Joe like Milo talks about kHate, with the exception that she only talks about JJ not TO him.
Obviously a young obsessed fan - give her 40 or 50 years and she'll BE Milo!
It needs to be said. Not ALL Canadians like 'their beer'. This is a stereotype.
This has been said many times but the whole charity gala has more red flags than a circus act. "Awareness" about premature babies takes the cake.
What is the goal of awareness in this organization? To PREVENT premature births? To provide great care for preemies if it happens? It's so unclear.
If it's prevention, how about let's be specific--let's educate mothers in areas of high premature birth about good nutrition, prompt and frequent medical appointments, taking vitamins, identifying risk factors. If it's treatment, we're basically talking about the uninsured, which is a completely different topic. So I don't get that at all.
For a real education on this topic that exposes some of the shady practices of surrogates when it comes to premies, check out the documentary Little Man, about two filmmakers who had a baby with a surrogate with high risks--and were not aware of the risks.
As for gala dinners? There are many, many high rolling donors who would never dare dream of showing up at gala events because of the hypocrisy.

@emeraldcityjazz @kateplusmy8 She's not removing the kids from the U.S. She's on a flagged ship, 12 miles in sea, no passport needed.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Of course she's removing the kids from the U.S. They are entering countries that are not in the U.S. and are not U.S. territories! They get off the ship! I think this tweeter needs to read the rules and regulations on the Travel Agency website!
Discussion on Twitter is whether Kate can take these kids on a cruise without Jon's permission. Seems they are discussing it based on working trip, custodial issues,. etc. Fact is that they do need a passport for the countries they are visiting, and Jon absolutely needs to have a permission form notarized. This is a requirement of the cruise line when minor children of divorced parents are traveling. No question about it. I don't think that's one regulation that Kate is going to be able to circumvent.
admin said: As for gala dinners? There are many, many high rolling donors who would never dare dream of showing up at gala events because of the hypocrisy.
@@@@@@@@@@
And then there are those like Kate who just want to be treated like royalty and be wined and dined in the lifestyle to which she is accustomed. It's all for show. She's so "affected" that it's pathetic.
Does anyone know for a fact that Milo is NOT in some kind of facility?
Much better with the comments, Admin. I had to give up earlier today.
I'm with Kit 6:25 PM. Chronological comments work much better on this blog. It would be really difficult to go back and try to read replies when so many people comment. Anyway, why fix what isn't broken? Discussions already work very well here, which is saying a lot, considering the number of comments posted.
Here is a photo album of Haiti two years later:

Even the Presidential Palace is still in ruins. RCCL's ports of call is an private island in Haiti, but they will nowhere near the true Haiti.
Ahhhhhh, at last, the blog is fixed. What a boring night without it. I gotta get a life I guess.
I am a type "R" Personality. Really Relaxed.
Mutiny on the High Seas, oh good grief. COmpletely agree with you. Kate IS taking the children to another country, more than one, she will need passports, and she WILL need Jon's permission, and if Jon doesn't want to get it, she'll have to take him to court again and have the judge decide whether the children can go. She better do this several months beforehand too. You can't just get a passport overnight, nor can you get things notarized just like that, or a court date if you need it. Hopefully she is not listening to her sheeple in preparing this trip.
They are certainly going a bit more than twelve miles out! It's not a shuttle cruise to Goat Island.

I guess Kate has never heard of March of Dimes, Children's Miricle Network, or St. Jude's Hospital?
Unless they decide to make her a paid spokesperson.
It occurred to me the kids got passports in that episode about going to South Korea. That wasn't more than five years ago was it?
Another thing you have to remember is although adult's passports last 10 years, a kid's only lasts five.
I almost screwed myself over with this when I went to Israel, not realizing that my last passport update I was only 17--still a minor, so it was only good 5 years, not 10. Thankfully I looked at it ahead of time and realized in time to get a new one.
There's so much that goes into international travel that I fear these people won't be able to handle.

The premature charity niche really has been covered, hasn't it?
Rather like trying to set up another Red Cross to donate blood. Um, it's covered. Come up with another idea.

lol, admin! Been there, done that, and to get an "emergency" passport may end up costing $600, not to mention the Excedrin you need for getting it done in a day!
Ah passport stories. It's not optional, it's required.
When same actor friend's relative got really sick abroad, they had to run out of town immediately. Guess what? Got to the airport, the passport was expired.
Friend knew someone who knew someone at the Clinton White House (at the time) and called them up to try to get the government to help with getting a passport immediately so they could go be with relative before they died. It happened, but the emergency passport was in the several hundreds. And it was tremendously embarrassing to have to go to that length because someone didn't have their shit in order. They said it was the one time they ever used their celebrity and felt really bad about it but when someone you love needs you, you'll do anything. But it's proof how meticulous you have to be when traveling abroad, and it's nothing to downplay and make assumptions about, sheep. Read the fine print. Carefully.
I just looked at the passport requirements. 15 and under it's only good 5 years. So I must have been 15 when I first got it, not 17. Whatever age I was, thank goodness I thought to look at it so I didn't get really screwed at the airport.

@Kateplusmy8 Will you be giving away tickets to your cruise?? I would love to go on it!!
sarahigley
And who wants to pay for me to go on a cruise with @Kateplusmy8? Yeah, you can laugh, I really wanna go. Perfect graduation presenttt :)

If Kate is teaching these young sheeple anything, it's that you're ever too young to learn the fine art of grifting.
Off topic, sort of, but look how classy Brad and Angelina look today at the White House:
http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/celebrity/brad-pitt-angelina-jolie-visit-barack-obama-at-the-white-house/story-e6frfmqi-1226242652415
The best thing Jamie ever said was that Kate fancies herself Angelina Jolie. She can only wish she could have class like that.
Oh, help! Every time I go to a link someone has mentioned, when I come back I'm on the first comment on the page, not the one I last read. And without the post numbers, it takes me ages to figure out and find where I came from (semi-senility). I think this format is similar to GWOP's, and it's one of the reasons I've rarely gone there. Any idea what the chances are of getting the old one back?
New post.
I'll try the regular comment format in the morning and see if Blogger fixed their issues by then.
Well, I'm happy to see that the comments are fixed. At least, somewhat. Much easier to read now, and our numbers are back. I hadn't realized how much I'd come to depend on them until they were missing. Thanks, Admin.

The kids just went to Australia, so must have up to date passports from that trip I would think?
Actually for cruises you currently only need a state issued birth certificate including seal to board. They prefer you have a passport but it is not required at this time. There was talk of changing the rules years ago, after 9/11, but they were pushed back for cruising.
I have a passport because I cruise a lot and if something happened that I needed to leave the ship and get home without a passport I could leave the foreign country but not be let into the US. Better safe than sorry.
However, most cruise lines strongly recommend that all guests travel with a valid US passport during their cruises for a couple of important reasons:
If you have a medical, family, personal or business emergency and need to fly back to the U.S. before your cruise ends a passport is required or you could experience significant delays and complications. See Why You Should Consider Getting a Passport for a Closed-Loop Cruise
If you need to fly to meet your ship at the next available port should you miss your scheduled embarkation in a U.S. port or if you miss a ship’s departure from a port of call.
Some ports may have their own entry requirements. Talk to your cruise line to confirm the documents you need for your cruise.

FWIW, I don't think that Kate would cancel because most attending may be black. That's really stretching it.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I don't think that's ALL there is to it, if she's cancelled. I think it's also that the organizers don't appear to be the "class" Kate aspires to.
They look very ordinary. No upscale clothing, no styling, no slim bodies, no "celebrity" appearance. Nothing that would say "wealth" or "celebrity" to Kate, who, as someone else has pointed out, has a very limited world view.
Just the Facts, it's perfectly reasonable to assume that Kate originally intended to go to this event (and may still), since she did not deny it once the public notice was out. She's allowed her name to continue to be used in connection with it.
She could have denied any connection to this event, either by having the organizers take her name off the materials, or through her Twitter feed and blog. She chose to do none of these things.
