Kate continues to be a horrible role model for teen girls and women. Her latest is this tweet, where she told a fan that this slogan (words eerily similar to what got Kate Moss in hot water) was one of her many mottos. In September, Kate tweeted a similar rallying cry: "Can never be tiny enough lol."
In light of all of Kate's young, impressionable fans, we plead with her to retract her comments and to stop saying things like this.
In 2009, another Kate, model Kate Moss, told fans she lives by the motto: “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” The slogan was adopted by many pro-anorexia web sites. Moss was blasted by a variety of people in the industry, including other models and the groups Say No to Size Zero and Beating Eating Disorders (BEAT). The Advertising Standards Authority, a regulatory group in England, even banned t-shirts with the slogan.
Anorexia is the third most common chronic illness among adolescents. 24 million people suffer from an eating disorder (anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder) in the U.S. A survey of female college students found that 58% felt pressure to be a certain weight, and of the 83% that dieted for weight loss, 44% were of normal weight.

Admin. Do you think Kate was "using" Roma to be noticed by Piers? Do you think Roma cared one way or another?

I remembered today that Kathy Griffin had a whole standup routine about Whitney Houston's appearance on Oprah (which the truth is was very funny) and so I googled to see if Kathy Griffin had said anything about this.
--------------
Kathy talked about everyone -)
She even talked about how Kate's banging Steve.
No idea Maggie. For whatever reason she thinks Roma is going to help her somehow.
I mean with all due respect to Roma, she's sort of a has-been herself. Her heyday was in the 90's with Touched by an Angel with Della Reese (Della was in Touched by an Angel, not Whitney, Kate! I understand they both sing and are both black, but not the same person). I don't understand why Kate thinks this person could possibly help her out in any way.
Not to mention, it's a complete myth that one celeb can help out another celeb much. Rarely, and minimally. And certainly one has-been celeb can do virtually nothing for another. Roma is trying to get work herself for pity sake, not help out Kate!
Yes she does chef however the bit about Whitney was one of her more famous ones. BOOBBBBY!
The stuff she said about having lunch with Kate and "the bodyguard she's banging" was hysterical.

Regarding the Piers/Roma confusion:
Piers tweeted this last night:
piersmorgan Piers Morgan
Nobody, I repeat NOBODY, ever sang the Star Spangled Banner live as well as this: bit.ly/EXL5 #RIPWhitneyHouston
then Roma retweeted it:
piersmorgan Piers Morgan
Nobody, I repeat NOBODY, ever sang the Star Spangled Banner live as well as this: bit.ly/EXL5 #RIPWhitneyHouston
15 hours ago
Retweeted by RealRomaDowney
Kate follows Roma so she then replied to Roma's retweet which included both Roma and Pier's names.
All done to impress her tweeties, of course, hoping they'll think she hangs with "celebs."
Thanks Tweet-le De Tweet-le DUMB for the clarification. I didn't see the re-tweet by Roma and did not think to look at Roma's tweets.

I always wondered that too until today. When I was watching biography on Tom Hanks this morning, it mentioned that Hanks was going to work with Downey some more on her show. It's an animated show and Hanks does the voice of one of the characters. Bingo, I thought, that's why she keeps tweeting to her.
Remember how Kate always said she thought she had a career in animated voices and thought she would get offered a job doing so. It all made sense when I saw that.
nj
Kate always hopes/wants/wishes/dream of being offered things. Offered things because if the opportunity isn't offered to her, then she and her 8 kids will be scrapping by in society. Did she ever think about going out and earning things? Instead she sits at home on Twitter stating that just about everything is her dream job, you know so she will be able to provide for her kids. But, even though works, pays child support, he's only affording them lunch, while Kate writes for CC once a month.
Now, whose the mediocre parent here? It's not about the material possessions you are able to afford for your kids even if that's all I hear or understand Kate to mean. People can and do get buy with less every day.
I went to school with a girl who lived in and out of motel rooms, was homeless on occasion, took a job after school willing to pick up school garbage for some money to provide for her future college education.
Kate needs to learn what the word "provide," really means. For some people that means they barely manage to get dinner on the table, might not have enough money to pay the bills, etc. Not about whether their kids have the latest new toys, go to some fancy private school or get to travel on vacation. I wish Kate would get her priorities in order.
If you want a job Kate, go out and get one. Nobody is going to land in your lap again to cushion your butt from working. McDonald's is always hiring, since you love money maybe they'll let you work the cash register.
Admin., I will get the info and will email you. It happened, believe me. I do know mistakes and misunderstandings happen. When there is no absolute proof I do hate to say for sure it a certain way. Things just seemed so suspect, speaking of deletes, but I'm not ready to say you did it for sure or even on purpose. It wont be today, but I will get the examples and email you.

Yes that's what it is, Roma is doing voice work and Kate wants to do that too.

I took it as a 'Royal' we.
I think when Kate says "I'm all alone here" she means the not-a-nanny has the day off and SHE has to make the valentine boxes with the kids (for school maybe).
NJ please do email me examples. Remember Mary Ann is also on staff, I'm not the only person running this blog. I have no clue if she was involved in the posts you speak of, though I doubt she can remember very far back what was deleted and why. All I can say is that in my memory I never remember deleting your posts.

How do we know this, and why assume that he is with her today? She has not mentioned him being there yesterday, nor does she say anything about him being there today. This is all speculation, and it's fine to speculate and assume, but we don't say that "WE KNOW" when, in fact, we don't know -- we're just guessing.

What I found so ironic about this is that if I recall, some sheeple called HIS hotel room when he was on vacation, and he was livid about it, recounting to the tweeties what happened. Then he goes around and does the same thing to Kate, phoning her at a restaurant, and then ordering food to be delivered to her hotel room. He didn't like it when someone bothered him, but it was perfectly okay for him to do it to someone else.
Is this tit-for-tat?
Kathy Griffin is a perfect example of someone who got knocked down to rock bottom and came back. She was blackballed by Hollywood because she made fun of everyone. Did she sit home feeling sorry for herself hoping for something to fall in her lap? She got up, dusted herself off, and started from the bottom again and worked her fingers to the bone paying her dues again. Slowly, but surely she got back in and never let up on making fun of the stars. Only now it is a badge of honor to be made fun of by Kathy. Cher used to hate her, now they hang out together.
I think that is the primary problem with KT, she banked everything on the kids and made them pay their dues but she never paid hers. I think it is time if she wants to continue.
I actually think KT would be good in voice overs She does a great chicken and who could ever forget come and gitcher popcorn.
But not anything angelic or Christian like. She could never be taken seriously in that role and I think there would be a huge backlash if that happened.
One thing I have learned from Twitter is that we are not the only ones who shall we say dislike KT's ways. There are many, many, many people who have seen the err of her ways.
I can never see Roma Downey hiring Kate to do voice over work. Think of all of the actors/actresses in LA looking for work---and so many with experience. Kate has zip experience and lives in PA! She is dreaming.
Isn't Steve with KG 85% of the time when she's out and about.?
OMG, she is so embarrassing! She keeps tweeting Roma like they are bff's. The same with Taylor Swift. Funny how she never gets a response back from her famous friends.
Roma Downey probably doesn't hire anyway. This is what is so funny about people sucking up to actors and actresses. Most of the time they have nothing to do with hiring. Maybe they might mention they like this or that actress but unless you have huge pull like Tom Hanks or Brad Pitt it's not going to matter.
Kate would be better served to suck up to a director, producer, casting director, etc. Not other talent who were hired.
Actors are usually employees. Employees who are not in management typically in most fields have nothing to do with hiring decisions.
The question about how a tracker can reveal your workplace- Some workplaces have their own set up and when it shows "Bob's Service Center" on a tracker. You can trace the IP to the town. Some are even more specific.
Remember when a blog outed an employee who worked with Ellen at the Commonwealth of PA? They could see the employer on the tracker.

Oh please. What did they do? Disappear as soon as they were finished? She makes my skin crawl with her stupid lies.
Friendly warning...answer this if you can. I've been on the fan blogs and have seen the trackers and when I click on them they show my IP address and a town that DON'T live in. How is that helpful to them?
How convenient she can't take a picture of the Valentine's Day boxes. Considering the actual holiday isn't until Tuesday and it's Sunday night.
How is Kate unable to take a picture of the boxes that she got 'oh so into?' Very similar to her fabled Easter Baskets I bet.
The only conclusion I see is: They don't exist.
Either that or I just don't understand her logic, what is preventing her from taking one picture? She takes pictures of just about everything else.
I'm pretty sure Kate didn't take a picture of the Valentine Boxes because they were mediocre.
WTH? Is she nuts? She gave them their boxes and they tore them to pieces for a particle of candy or a trinket? Who gives valentine's early, unless they are going to be away? She didn't make any boxes. She dragged herself up off the sofa long enough to spread out a bunch of letters (tups only - guess M&C are too old), take a pic and went back to her roost. Ughhhhh. She is not wrapped right. And what is with the boxes anyway, wasn't she going to put inexpensive trinkets in the expensive Pottery Barn chair hangers. And wasn't she going to stay up all night making foam "cards." How quickly one forgets.
I think the boxes are for the kids to take to school to receive valentines from their classmates. My kids usually make a box or envelope at school but maybe she needed to supply them. However, if I am right why can't she line them up and take a quick picture?
I applaud this blog for not endorsing the creepy stalkers who live on Kate's twitter.
Posting HERE, with like minds is fun.
Living on twitter and nit-picking every little thing is a sick obsession.
Some of the haters have gone over the edge and they're worse than the sheeple.
Looking at THEIR pathetic lives, Kate looks like a Saint!
Question for the locals who live near the Orphanage: do you ever see Steve around anymore? Is he a presence in your area since filming stopped? It just seems by her tweeting, that she is without adult company almost always.
Good question regarding Steve.
I'm curious, too.
Another question. Does Kate have any obese family members? I'm trying to understand her obsession with thin.
We know that obese children not only suffer health but esteem issues.
Does she restrict her kids diet because she fears the bullying? Was she ever fat? Other than when she was pregnant?
Kate seems pretty thin to me in any photo we've ever seen of her. I think she likes to rub in how thin she is because it makes her feel powerful. Everything goes back to narcissism. Also I think she fishes for compliments. For instance saying oh I can't eat that piece of cake is sure to elicit comments like Oh Kate sure you can you're SO SKINNY! Which she of course plays coy like no, am I?
She is nothing if not transparent.
The thing that's so funny about the Roma Downey cartoons Kate is so obviously trolling to be a part of, is that if Roma Downey needs to cast a 30-40 something female voice, she is going to cast HERSELF. There isn't room for both of them! So funny.

Yes, that's the purpose of the boxes. I don't make the boxes. I buy the decorations (usually at the Dollar Tree) or Michaels, and the kids make their own boxes. Did Kate say that she made the boxes? They are boxes for their exchange Valentines at school.
I haven't posted in a long time. In catching up, I saw where some were trying to make a connection to Roma Downey. How about Roma has been dating Mark Burnett for awhile! Think Kate is looking for a leg up? Tee hee!

I seem to remember her having a meeting with him once in New York about the time (or maybe at the same time) she saw Trump.
All told it looks to me like there are @ 6 hardcore Kate Gosselin supporters who spend all day/night on Twitter posting under a variety of names/accounts just like they used to do on Radar Online and the now-defunct pro Kate Gosselin blogs. The "haters" are not really haters, they are bonafide critics of Kate Gosselin and her relentless bullshit.
If you look at the sick people who fixate on Kate you'll see they are unhappy, unhealthy, unloved, needy, and have not a single redeeming trait.
I bet they are mostly unmarried, obese and have fat kids who are social freaks.
Why else would they spend so much of their lives on a loser like KG?
I highly doubt Kate would do voice-overs she loves being in front of the camera.
Anyone else enjoying the Grammys tonight? I think Adele is my new favorite artist. I watched the 60 Minutes piece on her out of curiosity. I really didn't know much about her before tonight. I find her style so refreshing - no weird costumes, no dancing all over the stage, just standing at a mic singing soulful love songs with her unique, powerful voice.
Due to Kate's insecurities, it is truly pathetic how she attempts to cozy up to young women like Taylor Swift. She also did that to Bristol Palin's younger sister. Kate made some comment during the Alaska episode that she would like to adopt her and seemed to connect to her on some weird teenage level. At the time, it struck me as being quite odd and I immediately thought Kate feels comfortable with non-threatening younger people who don't judge her because they lack maturity and life experience. Let the Taylor Swift thing go Kate. You are really a nobody with 8 kids who has nothing to offer real celebrities who work hard at their craft. You looked like an idiot taking that signed guitar of Taylor's to Australia too. A nobody with nothing to offer riding the coat-tails of others. No wonder people can't stand you.
Was it Whitney Houston who sang Do you know the way to San Jose?
I feel terrible for her daughter. How awful to have a mom who is so messed up. Losing her may ultimately be a blessing.
Sad that any mother would put addictions to things that aren't good for her before her child.

Kind of like looking at what Kate has done to her children.
The San Jose song was by Dionne Warwick.

The blog I am speaking of has a tracker that is so complex it will actually track your laptop, not just your IP. You could log on from home and then later from your workplace. The next time you log on and read at the fan site they can see a history of where you have been- then have have your workplace!!!
I know it's confusing and I am sorry. Trust me, there are some unstable people out there. My advice is to stay away from the fan blogs but if you must read there, use a reliable proxy.

I can't believe Kate is still trying to make people think she is Taylor Swift's BFF. Didn't she donate the signed guitar from Taylor for the Australia Zoo auction? Some friend. I guess she figured she could just hit Taylor up for 8 signed guitars because, in case you hadn't heard, she is the mom of 8, count'em, 8 kids.

What a simple yet profound assessment. That's it in a nutshell. Think about it. Kate preys upon anyone she thinks she can have the upper hand with. She discards anyone who is going to call her out, who is threatening, who may be bigger, stronger, more intelligent than her.
She is one sick puppy who preys upon the weak. Children most of all. The young, obsessed teens. The mentally unstable adults. The low IQ. It really is disgusting. I have gone from being very annoyed with the fans, to feeling like they are victims in this giant scam.
I love Adele but it's weird how she looks like a 40 year old woman. She's only 23!
Friendly warning,
I went through the links you provided and I didn't find anything that helped me to understand IP tracking you warned and not only that, I found erroneous information about intelligence, or 'spying' on American citizens by the federal government and the NSA, LOL. So, I don't know if you are able ot clarify the IP tracking for us or not, it might help some of us.
Not that I think Kate will ever earn her own way in life again, at least not as long as she's got kids. She said it herself, I wish I knew wear but I'm almost 100% sure I heard her say, "When my kids turn 18, you'll never hear from me again."
I mean seriously? The same woman who says when her kids want something, like a car at 16, they have to go out and get jobs? Hmmm...let's see where is the irony in that?
I've said it before, she's been cushioned too long. That I do think when she has to enter the work force she's not going to like being told what to do, since you know she's in charge and that's never going to change.
Imagine her a co-worker? I'd transfer to another department. You can update your nursing certificate however many times you want but I think you might lose something when it comes to actually working.
I don't know, I guess I'm just one of those people who is old fashioned and actually likes the feeling of having earned my money. No job is never not worth putting in the effort if you earn something. Remember the value of a dollar? I'd like to see Kate live on $5 a week!
Not to mention, as if your responsibility as a parent ends at 18. Not in this day in age. Sure you COULD kick your kids to the curb at 18, but it's not the 19th century anymore.
Marie, I remember her saying that but can't remember where either. That means she plans to stick around for another 10 years. (excuse me while I go bang my head against the wall).
I don't know what exactly she hopes will happen - her direct line to the man upstairs seems to broken at the moment. Or He blocked her calls.
And admin you're right. There's a lot of kids 18 and older still living in their parents homes these days with the economy being where it is. I have a feeling though that Kate's will be out of the house before they reach that age.
Yes. Love her or hate her, there is no denying Kathy Griffin made her own life happen and didn't just wait for things to fall in her lap.
Her schtick is making fun of celebs and though she may cross the line now and again, she is practically the only "insider" in Hollywood willing to tell the truth about what goes on--how fake some of them are, what egos they have, how rude and condescending some of them are. She was talking all about Whitney's drug use before anyone else was.
I'm sure the 8 won't need to be kicked out they'll probably run out.
Lets remember Kate needs her kids esp if they want to do some thing in TV they may need her now but she will all ways need them.
she is practically the only "insider" in Hollywood willing to tell the truth about what goes on--how fake some of them are, what egos they have, how rude and condescending some of them are.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
You said it yourself. That's her 'schitck'. I wouldn't take her word as gospel. It's sad that people put these celebrities on a higher pedastal than others. I think Kathy G. is hilarious but certainly don't believe her 'opinions' about others are the truth. Ever heard of exaggeration for the sake of a laugh?
I dont believe anything that comes out of kate's mouth. I don't think she ever talks to the kids .What I believe is this...I get to run...I get to do this and that.YOU guys could come if your DAD didnt stop all of this.Blame daddy for this.

Wow, that's not the one I would have guessed. Thanks from me, too.
Re-Kate preying upon non-threatening younger people. She will prey upon whomever she can get away with. Not necessarily younger...trusting is more like it. However, she can't maintain a relationship with anyone because she grows to feel threatened by everyone. Jon because he made her look bad simply by being sane. Piper Palin bc she stole her kids' thunder somehow? Jamie, Beth, Jodie, etc for not going along with her panhandling and abuse. She flips out with the slightest bit of criticism, but yeah, she'll start with the trusting ones. Anyone with fortitude and a spine, like Sarah Palin, and she'll reject them outright

I didn't know that MB produced that ep... You can bet that he won't ever work with her again based on her attitude. All this kissing up to Roma is really making Kate look like a fool. Why would she include Roma in a reply to Pierce Morgan? Is she that stupid to think that Whitney was on "Touched by an Angel"?? And that by her buttering up Roma that she would all of a sudden get a job in show business?
Ha.
Regarding Grifty's making Whitney Houston's death all about herself.... The first "View" ep after Patrick Swayze died, Kate was one of the hosts...(still can't figure that one out). Whoopie was very emotional and you could tell it was hard for her to talk about Patrick. She talked about how great he was, what a wonderful marriage he had to Lisa, the fun they had on the set. Then....egads...Kate had to open her mouth... She made it about herself..even throwing in the "hello?" when referring to Jennifer Grey in Dirty Dancing. No shame.
BTW - If you are not a teenager or not answering the phone, there is no reason to use the word "hello", especially when you are desprately trying to show class and that you have the chops to host a talk show.
Maggie- 77. Kate certainly has burned a lot of bridges and no doubt has earned her reputation as a VERY difficult person to work with. Her bad reputation was displayed on DWTS (when she couldn't blame it on the kids and was a miserable, whining witch towards Tony. Add in the Palin episode, the Skywalk episode, and the true Kate on the RV episodes. After years of filming (most of which probably hit the floor, and had to be reshot to get her to look human), I think TLC had enough and knew they were ditching her. I am sure Jamie and Ashley's comments were cut in many prior episodes, until even TLC had enough of trying to save her from herself.
It is clear she has a bad reputation in the industry, and although there have been no tell-all stories YET, there most likely will be some day. The problem with Kate is her "I don't get it" attitude when things don't go her way. And I don't think she ever will. Narcissists often don't. She is delusional.-job will drop in her lap.
Let her keep blogging and twittering her mindless drivel. It really is quite pathetic. She can't even twitter she is going to get her hair done, but rather she is going to "visit" Jason. Queen of subterfuge. Never mind her grandiosity- AMAZING.........
I wouldn't take her word as gospel. It's sad that people put these celebrities on a higher pedastal than others. I think Kathy G. is hilarious but certainly don't believe her 'opinions' about others are the truth. Ever heard of exaggeration for the sake of a laugh?
&&&&
The problem with that is she probably would have had the pants sued off her by now if it weren't true. The only way she can get away with this kind of thing is if it's the truth. She runs everything she says by a lawyer, according to her. I'm sure they tell her you better be telling the truth.
On her show some of her encounters with celebs were filmed and they happened exactly as she described later. She has always described episodes of Oprah that were spot on.
I'm sure the re-telling of it is told in a way to achieve maximum humor, but I actually do believe most of her stories are fairly accurate. She simply wouldn't be able to continue without a lawsuit if she made it all up, there are some celebs that hate her and I'm sure would love to sue, but can't because it's the truth.
To clarify Mark Burnett produced the all of Sara Palin's Alaska tv episodes. He didn't produce the TLC episode of "KatePlus8" in Alaska. But of course, he saw or heard about all of Kate's drama when she was with the Palins.
That's right I forgot about Mark Burnett producing Sarah Palin's Alaska.
What do you want to bet they had one or two lunch meetings together and, because he was being nice, threw around a few possible ideas for a show for her. Stupid Kate doesn't realize 90% of ideas like this go absolutely nowhere. She has clung to this idea he might give her a show ever since. But of course has done nothing to make it happen herself--she just wants others to drop it in her lap if she tweets/harasses them enough.
Why would she include Roma in a reply to Pierce Morgan?
________________________________
It was explained yesterday, reply #8
M!Beginning to pack 8 V day lunches full of surprises 4 tomorrow..all abt L❤VE here.. Kids get SO excited!N
&&&&
She is packing their lunches a full 24 hours before they will ever eat them??? That's disgusting! What a soggy mess they'll be.
I think Roma (or more likely her people) made the mistake of sending Kate a publicity copy of her Angels cartoon. She probably sent it to 100 mommy celebs who might tweets about it.
But Kate thinks the gesture means they're BFFs.
Has Roma ever once tweeted her back?
Has Roma ever once tweeted her back?
=====================
Once that I saw.
I don't think she's packing lunches today with anything that will spoil or get soggy. Tomorrow's V-day lunches will be full of all the special snacky crap she's bought at Target, little bags, little treats, totally 'organic' (not). Lots of sugar, teachers will love the afternoon. Pathetic that she's spending today blogging about it. Tomorrow she'll be counting 'thank-you mommy's'.
Can you believe Roma is following Kate on Twitter. Roma is in New York promoting I think some new products for her Little Angels DVD's. Roma clearly states that the series is for "wee ones" and pre-schoolers. Roma must have flipped when Kate tweeted her months ago that her kids LOVED the DVD's. And another time, Kate tweeted Roma that her kids were singing along with the DVD's in the van from school. Really, Roma had to think Kate was a dope--no, make that a kiss-assing dope--for pretending that her 7 yr. old kids LOVED Little Angels for pre-schoolers. I think Roma engaged Kate with the DVD's NOT for her own 8 kids but for Kate to twitter about them for her fans. Only Kate took it personally and made a fool of herself telling Roma her 7 yr. olds loved them.
As if kids won't get enough treats from friends.
I'll say it again, Valentine's Day at this age is not about your stupid mother. Kids could care less. They care about which boy or girl gave them a Hannah Montana Valentine and that's it. They care about the class party and that's it.
Sure mom might get a hug and a quick exchange of gifts in some families, but it's just not a child's focus. Nor should it be. It's HEALTHY for a kid to be fostering friendships and be focused on other kids' his age.
The second coming of Christ could be happening and I think Kate would some how some way.
Make it all about her self she will all ways make a situation about her self.
admin. spot on .i can't get my head around making valentines day about children.its for lovers.
Tweedle, here is an example. There are numerous types of trackers, some more powerful than others.
http://www.tracemyip.org/tools/website-visitors-counter-traffic-tracker-statistics/
I don't understand spending time or money on tracking people. Who cares?
Why not just be flattered people are coming to your web site instead of trying to stalk them and drive them off?
Roma tweeted to everyone last night: Just landed safely in NYC ! Brrrrrr!! Happy to be here #littleangels
Kateplusmy8Kate Gosselin@
@RealRomaDowney glad to have you on 'our' east coast, Roma! Have fun! :)
And Admin. you are exactly right that Valentine's Day is about their friends and classmates and has very little to do with their mother. Kate's celebration of V Day is more for public admiration and less about her love for her kids. She is making a huge deal about this so her fans will praise what a great mother she is. It will be sad for Kate when her kids grow up and they realize all of this.
Oh now the entire East Coast belongs to Kate as well? Here I thought she just owned Mount Rushmore (her "my rushmore" tweet).
Instead of Kate devoting an entire long weekend to showering the kids with gifts, why not help them to make Vday cards for OTHERS? Encourage their age-appropriate friendships while still participating in the holiday with tme.
Chances are, encourage giving enough and a kid will think to give YOU a Valentine on his own.
Everything she does has a motive. This screams, If I love my kids THIIIISSSS much, how could you ever suggest that I exploit them?
So, I am still wondering how the knife feels for the twins re: the Valentine boxes.They are left out, even if if the tups just needed the boxes.Why isn't she doing them with the tups?
I hope she remembers that she has twins, even though they are 11 and don't need boxes for school.Hopefully she'll tell them she loves all of them and does an activity with the twins too.
I don't feel as stupid as I did the first time I commented on these boxes, I was right! LOL.
Teresa ,why are you fighting over that couch for? I read somewhere that you can smell smoke in the tables, in the wood, of a smoker's house. Can you imagine how much old skin smells and flakes and DNA are in that couch? You can have it. Yuk! I want Shoka.
The sheeple wouldn't do one potato, they would do- this little piggy went to market. te he
An Example, thanks. That particular tracker like most others can track IPs by number, country, state and city, etc.:
• Visitors' geographical location information on country, state & city levels
• Visitors' operating system, screen resolution, language usage, flash versions, cookie support, etc.
• Visitors' browser name & version
~~~~~~~
That I already knew. I'm curious about trackers that can see more than that. I'm not even sure a tracker can find a company name although Friendly said they can.
I've read that people have been tracked to their work and employers have been contacted. I just don't know if I believe it. Some people have put their real names on the net at some time and they've been found that way. Some have confided their name to someone who turned out not to be trustworthy.
My cursory search on trackers hasn't come up with anything that does any more than what is listed above with regard to location. In other words I have not found a tracker that says they can track company names and address plus IPs, etc.
Probably because some people on both sides are saying others have traced them to their work and called their bosses.
Hopefully, the twins are thinking about what boy might give them a valentine and not about their ridiculous mother.VD is for lovers, my dh and I got engaged on it, so it always is sweet for me every year, even after 35 yrs.
I will mind-read for anyone who will pay the small fee of $20. LOL. That was an easy one, she's so predictable.
Yes but why not just call a truce?
How does it help the situation is someone called your boss to turn around and try to call that person's boss?
And has any boss actually cared? Has anyone claimed to actually be fired?
I agree with Admin. What boss cares whose blog you post on? My boss had much better things to do. Truce, please...
____________________________________
You mean like the Kate fans and non fans calling a truce? I don't think that's going to happen.
This whole anonymity thing and haters and wars and people saying they can find out who you are has been going on since the net was in existence. I've just never seen or known anyone personally that it has happened to. I knew someone who was stalked once (by an attorney as a matter of fact), but he knew the person's name.
When people say it's happened to them I tend not to believe them hence other things they say. For me it's a matter of knowing who is legit and who is just a shit stirrer.
I know these folks have never had the opportunity to be in charge, but maybe they can try to imagine all the responsibilities that come with being "boss." And maybe, leave them alone to do those responsibilities and stop tattle tailing about things bosses don't give a crap about.
Yes, TRUCE.
I'm all for a truce. I'm just saying don't anyone hold their breath.
It's funny that the same people who say it's no big deal to have a tracker on their blogs get upset when somebody else does it.
People who post from work on a continual basis should be turned in. If you're not doing anything wrong it's no big deal.
People who post from work on a continual basis should be turned in. If you're not doing anything wrong it's no big deal.
&&&&
I totally disagree with this. It makes a huge assumption that what the person you are stalking is doing at work is wrong. No one has any way of knowing what a particular work policy is. You have to realize every workplace is different, I've seen all kinds of internet policies. This may be hard for sheeple to understand, but not everyone is paid by the hour and punches in. Some people are salaried and are expected to do a certain amount of work and no one cares what you want to do at the office as long as the work is done. Now, I've seen some people work 55 hours a week when they only need to work 40 because of activities like this, but that's their choice. Some bosses are fine with some personal phone calls/internet use within reason because it keeps employees happy and working hard (there are actual studies on this). Not every workplace is militant. I've seen bosses completely happy to let employees go to the gym during work hours, go out to lunch and take a nap, arrive and leave when you please, etc etc. Look at Facebook to see a laid back management style that obviously works as the company is worth billions. There are different management styles and some of the most laid back often produce the best results. It is not a stranger's place on the internet to insert themselves in something that has nothing to do with them.
It's a boss' responsibility to monitor their employees, not some random person on the internet. If a boss wants to see what you are doing on the internet, he can easily have the IT person look. I've worked for a few people that openly tell us they can see everything we do. That's their right. And I've had others who could care less.
It would be different if someone were reporting illegal activity. That's different and of course they should. But there is nothing illegal about using the internet--it would depend on the workplace policy. And unless you have that employee handbook, which is usually confidential, it is quite a leap to assume you know what the policy is.
And it IS a big deal to have some stranger stalker on the internet call your boss. Even if you did absolutely nothing wrong.
National Nightmare,
Are you the work police for everyone who posts from work? You have no idea each and every persons job discription, when they take breaks, who has a smart phone to use. You sound like the kind of person who would take the time to seek out an person's employment, and then what? Call HR and say someone from this IP address posts mean stuff on a blog about Kate Gosselin!
Here's another thing to ponder. It is very easy for IT to block sites like Facebook, blogs, non-work related sites. My friend's employer blocks all sites except the county web site they need to use.
If a boss doesn't want someone to look at sites, all they have to do is block them. But there is THEIR choice and some stranger on the internet needs to mind their own business how each workplace wants to handle it.
I can see the sheeple making very horrible bosses. Seems they are only happy if you are handcuffs up in a cage stacking boxes with your teeth. NO FUN AT WORK NO LAUGHING NO SMILES, WORRRRK!!!!
"So, I am still wondering how the knife feels for the twins re: the Valentine boxes.They are left out, even if if the tups just needed the boxes.Why isn't she doing them with the tups?
I hope she remembers that she has twins, even though they are 11 and don't need boxes for school.Hopefully she'll tell them she loves all of them and does an activity with the twins too."
________________
The boxes are for school, specifically 1st grade. Speaking from experience, most older kids don't feel left out when their younger siblings are doing a school activity. And I'm sure there are plenty of school projects that M&C do that Kate helps with, buys the supplies for, what have you.
I'm sure that M&C are doing an age appropriate "something" for Valentines Day at school, and I would assume that Kate supplied them with whatever they need.
Yet another example, what if an employee were someone who did a lot of driving around, like say going to the post office, and waited a lot in line. Or a fireman on call who is just hanging around playing pool until a call comes in. Same with doctors/EMTs a host of professions where you wait around a lot.
Are you not allowed to whip out your laptop or smartphone doing down times to pass the time?
There are hundreds of circumstances out there some strangers haven't the first clue about and it's none of their damn business.
At the end of the day, if an employee is truly doing something wrong, chances are, they are doing things wrong in other areas of their work too, and it will eventually catch up to them without the sheeples' help.
I imagine the twins are relieved that their mother isn't inserting herself into a holiday that has nothing to do with her. I imagine like most 11 year olds this holiday is about the twins and their friends, not the twins and their narcissistic mother.
It's funny that the same people who say it's no big deal to have a tracker on their blogs get upset when somebody else does it.
&&&&
I'm not sure who you are referring to, but I can't only speak for this blog. I use Google Analytics, which gives me a general idea of where people are from, what pages they are visiting, how long they stay on the site, how they got here, etc. Most serious bloggers will look at their demographics to give them a sense of what direction to go. For example if all my viewers were coming from an ice cream site, I might consider talking more about ice cream. Bad example but you get the idea.
As far as locations, I can see 10 people logged on from Reading, but I can't tell where in Reading. (Reading is, I hear tell, a big place). But it by no means will tell me names, addresses, work places or any information in which to out people. Nor would I care if it did.
I am not upset at a tracker on a blog, but I am upset if people use the information maliciously. It was not meant to stalk people, but rather to give you general information that will help you build a better web site.
Prepping for breakfast? I mean really, come on now.
Most of the people being harrassed & tracked are old-timers from Facebook, where in more innocent days real names, jobs, family were listed, before the Gosselin wars erupted & became personal.
These are very old grudges. None of the new people on Twitter & blogs who use fake names or first names only are being harrassed, unless they unwittingly or naively give out personal information or if their name matches their facebook name, where a quick searh on facebook or My Life can yield more personal information.
One Kate fan, CJWhodunit, recently went way over the line, contacting an employer through Twitter.
A quick couple of tweets to her husband's employer shut her up very quickly.
These grudges go so far back, that any new person on Twitter or blogs who is discreet with personal info really has nothing to fear.
Maggie- 77 saie...
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I don't think that the scene with Tony hurt her at all, in terms of getting a reality show. She created drama, and it was widely reported that she was ratings gold. What producer doesn't want that?
Where she really showed her true colors was when she was in the hair/makeup show and said she is so experienced, she knew that when she is given a time warning, there is extra time built in. This is a live show, for God's sake! Yes, they probably do allow some kind of grace period, but that is to deal with emergencies, not to participate in the massive inflation of someone's ego. Maybe the rush job is why she looked like a raging lunatic for most of her dances., or, maybe it was revenge.
The Alaska display of diva behavior just put a nail in her own coffin. No producer is going to put up with that kind of ego, unprofessionalism and shitty work ethic--especially when she has no discernible talent. I seem to remember that there were pix and rumors of meetings with Mark Burnett around the time she posed with Donald Trump at a concert.. If something was going to happen career-wise, it would have by now.
I wish I can say that I give a rat's a*s what Kate's pro-blogs say or do.
I agree to a truce simply because of the sheer apathy I feel towards Kate & her supporters.
They are not worth the energy for me.
We have explained in detail what a waste of space Kate is. Kate's career is tarnished & dead.
People have lost interest in Kate- the same will happen with her newer fans.
P.S. has anyone checked out Preesi's blog this morning? She posted 6 challenges for Kate that I think you will all agree with.
I don't know how to directly link it here, but
this is the page address:
There's no worries about me going to a Kate fan blog, because I've never been to one and never will visit one. Why would I? I'm not a fan and don't give a crap what her fans think.
Shrug.
As for tracing IPs and crap like that, like I said, I don't go to their blogs and I'm not terribly worried about it here. I'm careful as to what I say about myself. I give my city in my handle, but good luck finding me in such a big area, LOL.
Really, I have to wonder why the original poster started up all this sturm und drang in the first place. Distraction?
Eh.
As for Kate, what else is there to say? She has no career in the public eye and she has to be realizing that by now. It's February and things will only get worse as 2012, her "annus horribilis" drags on.
Catching up on some posts. I haven't read all of them on this thread yet, but just had to weigh in on Midnight Madness 157's post. Midnight, you've hit on one of my pet peeves. Another is "perrruhluhs" fight. The worst, though, is "lahaaaaaaaand of the freeeeeeHEEEEEEH"! Few of the singers actually have the range to hit that octave jump, so they wind up screeching instead of singing. Makes my skin crawl. Our National Anthem is difficult enough to sing without adding all those unnecessary and distracting embellishments. About "forgetting" the words. I'll give most singers a pass on this. I've sung in a couple of large stadiums -- with school choirs and a chorus I sang with when I lived in Cincinnati. I've sung with them at Reds and Bengals games on a number of occasions. The problem isn't forgetting the words. The problem is the echo and feedback from the sound system. Often, you hear the echo of what you sang several seconds ago. It's very confusing to hear that coming back at you when you're trying to sing something else. It's very easy to get mixed up and scramble words when that happens. That's one reason you'll see a singer holding an ear closed while they are singing. They're trying to minimize the echo.
Dallas Lady, the other night there was an attempt to out a regular, long-time poster here.
No distractions. Someone gave a Friendly warning to those that like to lurk at fans sites.
Reader...and I thought I was the only one who gets irritated by that extra note in there! Not many people would notice it, but whenever I hear it sung that way, it's like nails on a blackboard! Francis Scott would roll over in his grave!
Ok, I see Kate is making Valentines day about herself. Kate MADE the Valentines boxes, not the kids for school. So Kate will get the praise, not the kids. Cause, if Kate lets the kids make them, they will be sloppy, mediocre, not fit for showing to the world, or in Kates twisted selfish mind, GARBAGE! The whole point of making Valentine boxes is that the KIDS make it not mom or dad or anyone else(I wonder if Kate does their homework). In Kates world anything the kids make is unexceptable, not perfect, is garbage. How are these kids going to learn anything, or do anything if mom does it herself, for her own self gain and praise(not to be embarrassed). Kate just sucked the fun out of Valentines day, another fun thing for the kids she ruined. And also having a Love lunch is gonna make those kids, kind of freaks in school. Kate is still tryin to say to the school and world her tups are SPECIAL, above everyone, and are a freak show set/six-pack/unit/team, not just give them a treat in their lunches, maybe a little Valentine and that is it. Kate is a SHOW-OFF, BRAGGER and always has to out do people and show them up, her children are perfect, like little dolls, dress them up and put them in a case on the self, take them out for show & tell. That is sickening and disgusting.
So Steve was sighted with her in NYC? I always assume he is with her and she did say "us" when tweeting about dinner there.
So you guys think he's spending Valentine's Day with her?
How many mothers have to announce to the world that they are good mothers? Only ones who are very insecure and need to be constantly praised. It's actually become very amusing to see Kate do this. She's so predictable...we know EXACTLY what she is going to do and why she is doing it. It wears thin after awhile. If she's going to the extreme for the holiday, why not just shut up about it and do it? Because she CAN'T!
Valentine's Day at school is about the kids. I ordered a large decorated chocolate chip cookie for the class. The kids are so proud because they are sharing this with the rest of the class - they know that they are special because their mom thought enough about them AND their class to do this. I'm not staying up all night making foam Valentines or cutting up cucumbers in the shape of hearts. For the kids, just being able to take that giant cookie to class is enough. They love to share this way and they feel special because they are doing it. It's not a contest to see who is the bestest mother.
Kids this age also probably just don't have a concept of how much work goes into a box like this. They just don't. Kids think, oh a nice Valentine's box just appeared, Mom made it. They just don't appreciate or understand everything Kate wants them to. It's why the things she says they say are so incredulous. Kids don't think the way Kate wants us to think hers do.
I'm catching up on the Grammy's and i LOVED Taylor and her band's outfits. The circa 1975 country stuff. She pulls everything off. Did she tweet Kate last night? Heh.
Nah, I wouldn't report anyone. Leave that to the crazies.
I am of a different opinion than many of you regarding the posting at work issue. My viewpoint comes from experience with those who abuse it. I'm not talking about killing time or using it responsibly. I'm talking about people who blog/tweet first, then scamper to try to complete the bare minimum of the work they are being paid to do. Big difference.
I think an employer should be able to trust their employees without putting blocks into place. I think most people are reasonable, but the ones who aren't should (imo) be sanctioned.
I'm thinking of the IRS this morning and everyone's least favorite grifter. She doesn't feel obligated to pay her share of taxes and most likely doesn't add the income from her perks and gifts. It makes me chuckle to think of her misery when the IRS lays down the law.
I work for DoD and the Fed Gov lets us surf the net and post on blogs during our lunch hour if we want.
Why wouldn't Kate think Valentine's Day is all about her?
Why should it be any different than every other day of the year?
Midnight: exactly. Valentines at school is for the kids. But when mom makes the Valentine boxes, she TAKES away the kids creativity. I wish I had kids, I would love to see their creativity, what they made. Kate does this to all holidays, it has to look a certain way, the kids have hardly any input. No, homemade Xmas decorations for the tree. No kids made valentine boxes, for school, Easter will be the same way. Kate sucks the fun out of the holidays.
This love lunch and dinner Kate will no doubt make. Like I said on the other thread: a large box of chocolates and one card, and maybe have all the kids make a card each, and a some flowers and pizza, would be enough. One does not have to go over board and do heart shape food. Maybe some homemade hearts to put in the window. But Kate has to make it herself to get praise and be label the homemade/craft mom. NOT! Kate does not have that skill. Geez, just look at the xmas tree. Look how she dresses herself.
These grudges go so far back, that any new person on Twitter or blogs who is discreet with personal info really has nothing fear. 116
I beg to differ. You do not have to share personal information on social networking sites or blogs to be trackeddown and harassed.
One motive is to intimidate someone from commenting at forums the person doing the tracking disagrees with.
I am not going to share my story so believe what you will but be careful.
I'm sure Kate made the Valentine boxes because she didn't want the hassle/mess of having to actually spend time with her kids, supervising their artwork, and then cleaning up after them. Or, maybe Ms. Organization didn't plan so well. With the kids gone for the weekend, that would only leave Sunday evening to make the VDay boxes, since their 3 or 4 hours on Monday between getting home from school and going to bed seem pretty well booked. Oops, I guess Kate didn't plan far enough ahead.
I noticed it but was more shocked that Kate still had fan blogs out there. But even if their extreme supertracking devices exist it seems like they're paranoid more than anything else if they have to do that.
(And I'm still reeling from the 'old timers' thing lol. Long-time posters perhaps, but old timers? Yeesh.)
As a stalker, how do you tell the difference between someone using it reasonably and someone abusing it? How much time is "abuse" and how do they know they're not salaried and not bound to a clock but rather bound to simply complete X amount of work however they want to do it?
And why is it anyone's business as a random person to report people? I don't disagree that it's not good to do anything not work related IF it interferes with your work (this includes way more than just a little surfing--personal calls, texting, chit-chatting with fellow employees all day long, taking long lunches, etc). However, it is up to each workplace to decide how to police behavior, what behavior is acceptable or not (believe it or not, many workplaces are just fine with internet use, personal calls, texting, chit-chatting, etc) whether they want to police it, and how to discipline if need be. It is still not a random stranger's business to presume they know what is appropriate internet use for that particular workplace and further to go so far as to report them.
There is excellent technology, for cheap, these days that can tell an employer all he cares to know about an employee's internet use without a sheep's help. He can then decide how to handle it.
Conversely, a sheeple may not touch the internet all day. But if she files her nails, picks her nose, chats with the secretaries for a few hours, and makes several personal phone calls, she too is stealing company time. But I trust her employer to handle her, it's not by any stretch of the imagination my place to say something.
Sharman Lichtenstein is a professor at Deakin University who wrote a good article about this very issue, she said a good boss is one "who recognises the needs of staff, allows them some leeway to ensure high morale and expects motivated employees to do their job well in return." It's not anyone's business to insert themselves in the employee-employer relationship of any particular workplace, unless of course, something illegal is going on.
Preesi's challenges --
Somehow I can't see Milo or some of the other cronies at Stokesays! Kind of out of their league. The Peanut Bar (a fun place) would be a better choice for a get-together, especially for Kate's 20-something fans, and since there are only a handful of them left!
I work for DoD and the Fed Gov lets us surf the net and post on blogs during our lunch hour if we want.
Not surprising. There have been so many books written on friendly workplace environments and the general consensus actually is, let employees do this very thing.
Employees who feel like they are not being babysat, like they are not slaves who must row a boat all day long without a break, like they can be trusted, like they do not have to shut off their entire lives once they set foot in the door, like they can call up their four year old if he's crying for them or order dinner before they leave work, pay a few bills or even surf a little, equals (the majority of the time) happy, productive, positive employees who do darn good work.
I once went to the IW and made a post asking how they verified that someone posting as MomofKT was indeed Kate's real mother. (Which I thought was a legit question.) So after being "attacked" for asking I said No problem, Just inquiring... Goodbye.
I was shocked when later one of the mods there emailed me at the email address I used to post (the site stated it would not be shown publicly).
Fortunately, I did not use my personal email address that can be linked to my personal info. I used one that I created just for posting online at various websites, however, I did NOT expect the mods that posted there to access that info and actually use it to contact me.
Was it a big deal and an invasion of my privacy? No, but I was really turned off by their looking up my email address and using it to contact me.
They are also a blog that continually brags about outing PenMommy (someone who claimed to be someone she was not posting about Kate Gosselin) using the information they tracked through their site.
I'm not the person that posted a friendly warning about IW but I agree with them. They are shady and I'd be careful going to that site.
Pama: that is the point, it that the kids made it. Kate could have had the boxes(supplies), the hearts cut out for them, all the other supplies(glitter, dollies, crayons etc) and let them put it together, make it their own. This would not have taken long to do(about 1-2 hours). So they don't go to bed at 7:30pm, all the most they would be doing is glueing. So the kids make a mess, it's not like Kate works a 9-5 job, she can clean up the next day. Kate has to make it perfect, so she is not embarrassed. Kate is lazy.
Sharman Lichtenstein is a professor at Deakin University who wrote a good article about this very issue, she said a good boss is one "who recognises the needs of staff, allows them some leeway to ensure high morale and expects motivated employees to do their job well in return."
Theory X and Y. Kate's definitely an X momager.
Hi everyone. I've been happily Khate and sheeple free for over a week now. I'm just catching up a bit now and I figured I'd go to Coupon Crappers for the latest Khate blog. I noticed right away that there was no sign of Khate or her blog link until I scrolled further down. Hmm, it won't be long now until she's gone for good (perhaps just two more blogs left this month and then she's "DONE!")
So, here it is - more USELESS crap:
Money Saving Tips
As I sit here drinking my morning coffee, I realize just how much I rely on this morning “jolt.” Some days, coffee – the smell, taste and caffeine boost it provides – is the reason I get out of bed!
No matter what, I always have 8 hungry mouths to feed, but I purposefully get up a bit early so I can brew my first cup or pot of coffee and drink a cup before I have to begin feeding the masses! It makes me a happier morning mommy! Because I drink so much coffee (about 4-5 cups per day minimum) I have to replenish my supply often, even though I am the only coffee drinker in my house, obviously! It is an expensive “hobby”!
I recently tweeted at length about my love of coffee, my broken coffee machine, and Keurig. The company’s wonderful customer service department replaced my machine (and according to your tweets back to me, many of your overused machines)! Regardless, coffee is quite an expense, albeit a necessary one, when you’re a mom. As a mom of 8, I need all the energy my caffienated coffee will dole out to me… and more!
Not long ago, I altered my coffee routine to help me cut costs. I recently bought a French press to make a quick pot of coffee. It is not as quick and convenient as my Keurig machine, but it does help me save money as it uses ground coffee versus those ever expensive K-cups. So, I use both methods daily, but I do use less K-cups since integrating the French press. By having two wonderful home methods to make coffee, I also save money at Starbucks because I make a cup of coffee and take it with me instead of running through the Starbucks drive thru, which saves me up to $80 a month!
Coffee may be an expensive habit, but it flows through my veins! It is never something I could cut completely out of my budget, but I CAN caffeinate wisely. People ask me, “How do you do it?” and I always say “Lots of determination, prayer… and coffee!”
Hope you enjoy these very caffeinated deals below!
--------------
Btw, her third paragraph ends with "caffeinated" spelled incorrectly:
As a mom of 8, I need all the energy my caffienated coffee will dole out to me… and more!
Also, she must be the only person with a Keurig who is unaware of the $15 "My K-cup" that you can buy and fill with your own coffee. It's economical and "green", dumbass!
They even have them at her favorite store: Target!
Bed Bath & beyond also has them, and she can even use a COUPON!
So you guys think he's spending Valentine's Day with her?
====
Yes.
***************************
Same here. She has sent out just three tweets so far today. It is nearly 3:00 PM in PA. Anytime she is Twitter silent (or nearly so), there is a good chance he's there.
Midnight: exactly. Valentines at school is for the kids. But when mom makes the Valentine boxes, she TAKES away the kids creativity. I wish I had kids, I would love to see their creativity, what they made. Kate does this to all holidays, it has to look a certain way, the kids have hardly any input.
---------------------
Yes, and it's not only on Valentine's Day. Parents do their kids' school projects for them, buying elaborate poster boards, expensive supplies, and turning out professionally crafted projects. You know that the moms did the work because no kid in lower school has that creative ability. Then when there are kids, like mine, who actually do their own projects, and they feel terrible because their finished work looks so inferior to what the other kids have brought in.
The Tracker poster was simply trying to be helpful. Take it at face value and move on.
Happy Valentine's Day to one and all, even Kate.
And a quick shout out -It's Girl Scout Cookie time on the west coast, so support your local troop and buy a thin mint, samoas, do-si-doh, trefoil, dulce de leche, savannah smiles, thank you berry munch or any others I haven't mentioned! Cookies help girls do great things!
She's probably very busy cleaning up the mess after she tried to use cookie cutters on grapes.
No matter what, I always have 8 hungry mouths to feed,
Oh for godsakes Kate. We KNOW you have eight kids. Did you know people with even ONE child still have to feed them.
I also save money at Starbucks because I make a cup of coffee and take it with me instead of running through the Starbucks drive thru, which saves me up to $80 a month!
Ha. Does she realize she just shot herself in the foot for grifting Starbucks from this day forward? And I have to wonder what makes her think taking your own coffee is a new concept she just thought up. What's next? Kate invents the travel mug?
Kate u r a reel jenious.
Well, another useless info blog of Kates. If she really wanted to save money, get a regular coffee maker and buy, Duncan Donuts coffee or 8 o'clock, grounds and make a pot of coffee. No brain surgery here. methods: I can think of a few more, one I mentioned above and the other is instant coffee. My mother swore by Maxwell house instant. There are many flavors out there. I see Kate had to remind us, she is the mother of 8. Who uses the term: 8 hungry mouths to feed, that sound so degrading.
OMG, my head is going to explode! That CC post of Kate's is moronic. Is she that f-ing stupid that she in not aware that you can use a reusable insert with your own coffee instead of a K-cup?
So, what is her money-saving tip? I'm failing to understand the value of her "insight".
Her post is repetative and so poorly written. 8 kids, 8 kids, 8 kids. Coffee is expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's Kate's money-saving strategy: Twit with @ Starbucks, @ Keurig and @ Coffee Mate and grift freebies.
Sorry, Kate, it doesn't translate to the mediocre.
Wow.
Only in Kate speak could you use the phrase "caffeinate wisely". So she has a not exactly cheap Keurig, and now a French press, which means she's saving $$ by not going to Starbucks 5x a day. That will pay the mortgage soon, such a smart blogger. Of course, she then dumps Coffeemate into all that good coffee, gives me heartburn to think about it.
The indefatigable gall of that woman to piss and moan about coffee when she pampers herself to no end. And, did anyone notice that she seems to blame her poor kids for needing so much coffee?
Try getting up at dawn, shit/shower/shave and go to work every day, Kate. Try taking care of your family when you're exhausted from the demands of a job.
I just can not believe that CC would keep her on staff when she insults their readers like this.
Midnight: I have heard that: but the whole purpose of the project is that the kids did it not the parents. I do hope that the teachers take off points for the project that was not done by the kid. If I were a teacher I would. Nobody should be doing a kids project like that, making suggestions, is one thing, doing the whole project is another. Those parents should be a shamed of themselves.
In that short coffee blog, she mentions twice that she has eight kids. Gee, I think that we know that by now, Kate. She just can't let that go. What a doofus!
Didn't she say before that the reason she gets out of bed is because of the kids? Now, it's the coffee.
"Coffee may be an expensive habit, but it flows through my veins!"
She could have fooled me. I thought she had ice flowing through her veins, or boxed wine.
Both Midnight. That way it's instantly chilled as it flows through her BRAIN.
For as much as Kate is extolling the virtues of coffee!!!!!!, she sure is exhausted a lot and goes to bed at 9pm.
Also, Kate bemoans the paps but feels free to pilfer their work and use it for her blog and avatar.
Get permission to use their work, Kate? Didn't think so
I guess I just don't understand this. Why does she need "designer" coffee? If she really wants to save money, buy a Mr. Coffee pot, go to BJs and buy commercial size cans of coffee (or to Giant and get their extra large cans). She'll get her coffee fix and save tons of money. If she's that addicted to caffeine, is she really going to notice the difference? I don't know -- I'm just not into fancy coffee. I've been drinking Maxwell House (made in my Mr. Coffee) for years and I seem to have survived.
Both Midnight. That way it's instantly chilled as it flows through her BRAIN.
lol -- she has a brain??!!
Is there anyone in America who hasn't figured out if you want to save a significant amount of money, cut out Starbucks?
I'm renaming Kate's blog Life for Dummies.
Bottom line: coffee is cheap. Cheap as dirt. Kate's attempt to mount a case that coffee is an expensive habit is so contrived and transparent.
Sure, Starbucks is expensive, but if you've got money to burn or are a boob, go ahead and buy it daily.
I adore Starbucks, btw, however, I view it as a treat once or twice a month.
You know what the best coffee is? Church coffee.
It's just so good, I don't know why.
ha. About the size of a chicken's, powered by a hamster wheel. That's my guess anyway.
She writes that she uses "less K-cups". That should be "fewer K-cups". Doesn't anyone proofread this mess that she puts out?
I noticed a few things that really irk me about her writing.
1. She gets out of bed for her coffee, not any other reason related to helping her kids.
2. She constantly has to through in the, "I have 8 kids."
3. She refers to her kids as "the masses." What a nice way to refer to your individual kids.
It's not like she works in a mess hall working for the troops!
If she complains that it's so expensive yet is willing to load her "skinny" body up with t hat much caffeine just to function something just doesn't seem right. I say just let her blow her money on her "hobby."
Aren't there any parents, divorced or not who have more than 8 kids who don't complain half as much as she does? I mean way she carries on you'd think she's the only woman in the world who has 8 kids and who loves coffee.
If she drinks that much...why is she gloom and distant or grouchy all the time? I mean I used to drink 4-6 cups when I first started college and I was so lit up I could hardly stand still.
The IW blog recently emailed me and I was surprised. I don't remember giving them my email address but I suppose I must have posted there once in the past. They said the site had been hacked and they wanted people to know that their personal information was safe.
I am concerned about this email. What personal information is being collected by IW? What are they referring to in this email? Now that I am reading the comment from Friendly I am even more concerned.
The image I have of her "with 8 hungry mouths to feed"...a bird with a bad weave, regurgitating worms...I almost spewed Diet Coke on my screen!
If she is drinking that many cups of coffee, why not get a Mr. Coffee machine, and the big can at Costco/Sam's/BJs like someone else suggested?
Good God. I have some tips for Kate:
1. Buy a regular coffee maker. Get a programmable one if you want.
2. Buy some regular coffee. It comes in giant cans at the store.
3. Buy a permanent filter to save money and help the environment.
4. Program your coffee maker to start brewing a whole pot at whatever time you want it to brew.
5. Drink it.
And on a more serious note, if she drinks even 75% of the amount she claims to drink, she needs to cut back. That's a LOT of caffeine every single day.
Also, I'm curious to see just how boring she can get. Coffee?
Wow, is right.
Kate has the biggest b*lls ever.
Katie Irene cannot afford coffee?
Please.
She makes no sense at all.
I also wonder what Starbucks did to piss her off enough to diss them on Coupon Cabin (which promotes Starbucks coupons) of all places. Just goes to show the woman has no business savvy. She could have said avoid coffeehouse chains by making your own....blah, blah, blah.
Just how long is CC going to let her get away with her idiotic blabbering?
meant to say: Avoid SPENDING MONEY AT expensive coffeehouse chains.
Does Kate really think she is telling us something new? Does she think she discovered coffee?
I have a nice coffee maker that grounds my beans right before it brews. (Christmas gift from my kids) I set it up each night with Colombian Eight O'clock beans (my fav) and set the timer for 6:30. I hear the grinder start as I am getting dressed each day. By the time I get to the kitchen to feed the "hungry mouths" I can already smell the coffee. I fill a travel mug and take it to work with me.
Note: I thought of all this on my own.
Just how long is CC going to let her get away with her idiotic blabbering?
****
If I were writing about saving money on coffee, I'd admit to loving Starbucks but concede that it can be an expensive habit. Everyone knows this so it's not like the total diss that Kate "doled" out.
And OMG! Kate's finally figured out that you can make coffee and take it with you!
I now use a Keurig but still have my regular programmable brewer. When I make a whole pot of coffee, whatever is not used goes into the refrigerator and gets nuked later.
Hey, I ain't proud ;-)
I love to wake up to the smell of coffee. The Keurig doesn't have a cup waiting for me, but it's programmed to be all revved up and ready to brew from 6-9am each day.
Here's a really dumb question because I am stupid about coffee -- not up on this Keurig thing. If you can buy filter cups for a Keurig that use your own coffee, how is this different than using Mr. Coffee disposable filters and your own coffee in a Mr. Coffee pot? Does the Keurig brew coffee any differently? Why buy an expensive Keurig when you can buy a @24.95 programmable pot and use Folgers or 8 o'clock brand in a grocery store?
Does Kate realize how wasteful the Kuerig is? All those little containers - where does she think they all go - that would be a landfull Katie? Someone who is so Green would just learn to make enough coffee for herself the old fashioned way - in a coffee pot with a "re-usable" filter. She is such a blowhard and I wish she would go away.
Dollar wise, how many cups of Starbucks coffee equal one jaunt to NYC this past weekend?
I'm gonna guess, um, at least 100.
I can partially answer this as we've switched over to Keurig. I drink decaf and DH drinks caff. When we brewed by the pot, we always drank decaf. He can deal with decaf but I can't do caffeine.
The freedom of his ability to get a cup of caff in the morning is wonderful.
There's also the aspects of never having to measure, clean out the used grounds etc. That's if you use the pricey K cups. DH used Kcups because I can buy them relatively cheaply at Costco. They don't sell bulk decaf Kcups so I'm using up my huge supply of coffee using the My K Cup insert.
In addition to having the ability to serve caff or decaf, there's all the different flavor possibilities. I want Hazelnut, someone else wants Vanilla and bingo! You get what you want. Instant gratification.
After grifting with Keurig they must be very happy to hear her refer to their product as "those ever expensive K-cups". Kate my dear, they don't make their money on selling the coffee machines, they make their money selling "those ever expensive K-cups". Why do you think customer service is so willing to replace the coffee maker (yes, they've replaced mine).
OK, so now you've probably pissed off both Keurig and Starbucks. She forgot to mention the maker of her French Press so I guess she won't be grifting from them any time soon.
I now use a Keurig but still have my regular programmable brewer. When I make a whole pot of coffee, whatever is not used goes into the refrigerator and gets nuked later.
Mine too... goes in the fridge. We commoners get by somehow. I have a 14 cup programmable and only use Maxwell House coffee which I stock up on when it goes on sale for $5.99 (cdn) for a 2.2lb tin.
Kate hasn't given ONE good tip on that blog.
Oh, I agree! Made in the big stainless steel urns. So good, especially when you drink it with homemade cherry pie and ice cream in the social hall!
I drink the around the same amount of coffee as Kate but I work 10 hour shifts (and the midnight one, no less), yes, I am that person taking a thermos of coffee into work :)
Maybe Kate should try FRS, no caffeine in it, but it's wonderful stuff and can help her workout and training. Lance Armstrong was a spokesperson once, so maybe Kate can grift an endorsement for her marathon 'training'.
Did I read Kate's post right? Coffee is a 'hobby'? WTF? Does this woman EVER use the right word? It's a bad habit, and in your case, addiction.
I think Khate is just a faux coffee snob. I don't have a better name for it, but my husband (love him!) is like her when it comes to coffee. He will never use normal, inexpensive coffee grounds, like Folgers or Maxwell House. He only buys coffee grounds from Starbucks or Caribou Coffee to make at home with his French press. He says the fancy coffee is the one luxury in life he has to have. But then he douses the coffee with fancy creamers to hide the coffee taste. I don't know, I'm not a coffee drinker, but if someone has to drench theirs with buttercream or white chocolate mocha-flavored creamer, is that person truly a coffee lover? That's how I see Khate with her "hobby".
Please forgive any typos, no time to spellcheck!
Tucker, 179...I can see that, when there are two or more people in the family, but with Kate, she's one person. You put the filter in the Mr. Coffee Pot, or Black and Decker, and you dump in the coffee. It really is a no-brainer. She doesn't have to worry about brewing for friends, because she has none.
Speaking of which, someone asked why Steve goes with her to New York when she gets her hair done. Who else would go with her? She doesn't want to go alone (I can understand that), but what other option does she have? Who would she take along? She could probably pay a rent-a-friend, but who would want to spend any time with her, even if they were paid?
Off topic for a sec because of the Keurig talk, where I work provides Keurig coffee makers, about a dozen of them, for us to make coffee. There are no regular coffee makers, just Keurig. Talk about promoting waste. Good thing they provide recycle bins for plastic and cans ;)
I agree Midnight. For one person, it's all about convenience and perhaps novelty.
For someone who always talks about "healthy eating"etc., does she realize that 4-5 cups of coffee a day is basically not healthy, and it's worse with the addition of Coffeemate and whatever she uses to sweeten it. I enjoy coffee as much as the next person, but know that coffee is a stimulant(drug) that gives an artificial high, and then you crash. If she drinks that much a day, could explain the exhaustion and the end of the day, because the high is wearing off.
Did some research about caffeine and found this very interesting article, which includes this quote:
"Within five minutes after you drink your morning coffee, the caffeine begins to stimulate your central nervous system, triggering the release of stress hormones in your body, causing a stress ("fight or flight" ) response. The stress hormones are useful if you need to prepare yourself to fight or flee a dangerous situation, but if you are simply sitting at your desk you may feel a short charge of alertness, quickly followed by feelings of agitation. Within the next hour or so, after the stress response dissipates, you will probably feel more tired and hungry. At these low-energy times, many people reach for another cup of coffee, or eat a snack that is often high in sugar to "pep up" and stay alert. However, both caffeine and sugar only give you temporary feelings of increased energy, which quickly dissipate. For some people, this cycle of low energy followed by an infusion of caffeine or food continues the entire day -- leaving them feeling exhausted and unable to focus by 3:00 p.m. because they are drained from the ups and downs in energy their body endured throughout the day."
My understanding is that it wasn't hacked. One of the moderators/owners allowed personal information they collected to become available to everyone and it was circulated. It might have been done on purpose, that part's not known and of course is denied. There seems to be disention in the IW ranks. Names, email addresses, more.
That much coffee is undeniably not that good for you, and it's obvious to me she is masking the true problem with cups of joe.
My best guess would be it's a nutritional deficiency. She's not getting enough protein and various vitamins. She's not getting enough calories. This has resulted in chronic exhaustion and irritability. This results in binges at McDonalds because her body is starving for calories and nutrients. Dumping more and more coffee on the fire just makes it burn harder.
One Kate fan, CJWhodunit, recently went way over the line, contacting an employer through Twitter.
A quick couple of tweets to her husband's employer shut her up very quickly.
How is not going "way over the line" to do the same thing in return?
Has this dolt never heard of a programmable coffee maker? They are less than thirty bucks and you wake up to a wonderful pot of coffee, with minimal mess. I love French press coffee, but hate cleaning up the mess, and it takes time to boil the water and let it sit a bit.
She thinks she is so smart, doing what people all over the globe do every day.
There may a method to Kate's madness. Perhaps by writing that Keurig cups are so expensive, as is Starbucks, she figures that more freebies will be coming her way because they will feel sorry for her (after all, she has EIGHT mouths to feed).
I have a feeling, though, that it's going to backfire. She's biting the hand that fed her.
Well the good news about consuming a large amount of coffee daily is it reduces your risk of diabetes by 29-54 percent, in a recent study. Now coffee addicts have a positive for their bad habit.
Everyone agrees that Starbuck's is expensive, but i'm curious to know if i'm the only one that think it tastes burnt?
Don't bother heeding the warnings. Go, post on that blog but don't you DARE post anything against Kate Gossselin.
The benefits of coffee are usually about straight black coffee, which few people drink.
When you add fatty creamer and sugar and other additives to it like most people do, I would think it would actually increase your risk of diabetes and a host of other problems.
Friendly Warning is not the same person that posted those links. What was posted is true and a good warning. The IW moderators have been shady since the GDDNOP days.
