Kate continues to be a horrible role model for teen girls and women. Her latest is this tweet, where she told a fan that this slogan (words eerily similar to what got Kate Moss in hot water) was one of her many mottos. In September, Kate tweeted a similar rallying cry: "Can never be tiny enough lol."
In light of all of Kate's young, impressionable fans, we plead with her to retract her comments and to stop saying things like this.
In 2009, another Kate, model Kate Moss, told fans she lives by the motto: “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” The slogan was adopted by many pro-anorexia web sites. Moss was blasted by a variety of people in the industry, including other models and the groups Say No to Size Zero and Beating Eating Disorders (BEAT). The Advertising Standards Authority, a regulatory group in England, even banned t-shirts with the slogan.
Anorexia is the third most common chronic illness among adolescents. 24 million people suffer from an eating disorder (anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder) in the U.S. A survey of female college students found that 58% felt pressure to be a certain weight, and of the 83% that dieted for weight loss, 44% were of normal weight.

Auntie Ann -- so funny! I just got back from the store where I stocked up on those. My kids love them. They now make the Thick and Fluffy ones that are really, really good. The three-year-old can eat one of those waffles, two strips of Oscar Mayer bacon, and one scrambled egg, and she's not fat by any means...she's on the slender side but has an appetite like you wouldn't believe. She loves having breakfast for supper!

I havent read the whole thing but I take it the kids had a creamcheese muffin for breakfast? Another lie...On Twitter, Kate said Mady wanted the plate with eggs (lots of pepper please!). Lie! In the episode where Kate gets the chickens (from the Amish farmer), Mady said that the (egg dinner Kate made) was 'gross' b/c she doesn't eat eggs. Dang, this woman doesn't even know which kids like what foods.
That V-day b-fast for the kids makes me sad for them. They are growing children and need food. Maybe not all of them are hungry in the a.m., but surely some them are. I hope they are getting filling dinners. This is truly the first time I feel those children are in a potentially abusive situation, having food with held can cause serious harm. Aeris 178 -- Thanks for posting the link to that pathetic breakfast. I don't think that's even a full slice of bacon. Looks to be a half slice, to me, or else the bacon I buy is sliced unusually long (and I buy the pre-cooked, microwavable turkey bacon). If those muffins are 200 cal. each, I'll eat one of those plates. I have a couple of prepackaged muffins here and I looked at the calorie count for them. They are 300 - 350 per muffin (depending on flavor), and they're easily 3 times as big as those miniature muffins on the kids' plates. Those poor kids! No wonder some of them had trouble in school. It's a well-known fact that kids who come to school hungry have more trouble sitting still, behaving, and learning.

I'm not sure I buy that the neighborhood was talking about what Kate ordered at McDonalds. It wasn't even a McDonalds around, if I recall it was over by the Lancaster airport. The source it came from was much more reliable, the employee who actually served her. And no she didn't mention what she ordered. Still, hard to believe a health nut would go to McDonalds for any reason. Even for their salads. I'm sure there will be people out there who swear they go there for salads, but most people if they're going to bother to go to MDs go there for a big fattening burger. Or, if they go there and get it salad it's because they took their kids. Kate wasn't with the kids. A saldad there is sort of a what's the point thing.
At least the little individual pizzas are a bit more food, but there's still just a big tablespoon of refried beans and that....rice stuff.
All I know for sure is that those kids don't eat much.
I'm not sure Kate is smart enough to engage in all these little ploys being discussed (staging and photographing one thing, feeding her kids something else), plus she is above all else lazy.
Kate serves the oddest combinations of food I have ever heard of. Who serves rice and beans with pizza, and black rice at that? No common white rice for her family. We usually have a salad with our pizza, and bread sticks of some sort.

I'm familiar with a lot of rice dishes, including "dirty rice" but this one's new to me. Thanks.
I'm just seeing the food pics now and it's all been said already, lol. But, I will add that a very big indication that Khate is controlling the kids' portions is that they ALL basically have the same exact amount of food. The only variation is that some of the kids had about 2 tablespoons of eggs with their breakfast.
Just as we've commented many times that it is not believable how Khate always says ALL eight kids loved a certain "meal" she threw together, I find it very hard to believe that ALL the kids naturally like the same size portions. Ask any parent of several kids, (yes, even multiples), and they will tell you that some kids love a huge breakfast, while some tend to eat lighter. Still some kids have to be begged into just eating something early in the morning before school (I have one that would prefer to never eat before noon!).
These variations all occur in the same family. Just because they're kids does NOT mean all eight kids will always have the same portion size at all meals. One slice of bacon? Really? If Khate wasn't strictly controlling the portions and doling it out, some kids would have two or three slices on their plates. Gee, some might even want two of those tiny muffins. Wow, what a novel concept, huh?!
Sadly, Khate, with her eating disorder(s), will pass her twisted ideas about food onto her children. I firmly believe that several of the kids will end up with eating disorders. Some might overeat like crazy once they get some freedom to finally choose their own food and portions (college?), while others will likely starve themselves because that is what Khate has taught them their entire lives. It's very sick, but I also think that when the kids are older, Khate will favor her thinner children and shun any who have a weight problem. Women like her have been known to do that. I have seen it and it's terribly sad.
As I was placing the bowl of cheesy/broccoli rice and the plate with sliced steak on the dinner table tonight, I realized what I find odd with Kate's pictures of meals - the plates are already dished out. I would have put all the muffins on a plate, the bacon on a plate, and made a big bowl of scrambled eggs (using probably 6 eggs for 8 kids) and let the kids take as much (or as little) as they wanted. Same for dinner, put the pizzas on their plates as it looked like they were each different but just have a big bowl of beans and rice. I cannot believe that she still dishes up 8 plates of food sets them in front of each kid. These kids are going to be babied until they go to college.

rocketman has been tweeting Kate for awhile. The haterz that live on twitter have been harrassing him ever since. Kate never responded until he sent the v-day group greeting to Kate and some real celebs. Of course, that would be the one Kate would respond to. So very predictable and so very sad....
What I noticed about the dinner pics were the plates. 3 red, 3 pink 2 darker red. Still has to identify them by their grouping; 3 tup girls, 3 tup boys, 2 twins
I think because they're Mexican pizzas Kate served them with rice and beans, although not sure the black rice is Mexican. I doubt it.
The Duggars are coming back on TV tonight. They were on the Today show and at the new NYC cupcake shop the DC cupcake ladies opened. They got an article in People. I bet Kate is so jealous.
Here's a novel idea: a set of 9 red plates, one alike for everyone, one big happy family. She's always just a little off - I get that dinner was Mexican pizza, thus rice and beans, but mahogany rice is just odd, never ever seen it in a Mexican restaurant and trust me, we eat that cuisine a lot in LA. Like I said, always just a little off. Yes, Food Network is another media outlet that will NOT be calling anytime soon.

I do have to wonder if the kids were sneaking food during the years she was on the road for weeks on end, and still try to find ways to nourish themselves when she is not around. She is a real head case.
It's funny the dinner plates were loaded up (with a picture to boot) after much criticism about the "hearty"/light breakfast with bus snack. She does not like the criticism one bit-maybe she should pay attention to what people are saying. Her food portions and food control with her kids is NOT healthy.
With the amount of beans she feeds those kids they'll be able to start their own band with all the "tooting" that must be going on in that house. Those must be some very gassy lads and lassies!

If I remember right, there was a little scandal where Brownie was linked to someone who was involved in child porn or something similar. This was right about the same time that the Bill Blankenship thing came out, so I'm guessing kate told her to scram. Too many pedophiles around makes Kate look bad.

Brownie was linked to a man in PA who got arrested for an alarming number of images of child porn on his computer back in October 2011. This man and his wife live right in her own county not far from her. As soon as his arrest and the reason for it went public, Brownie literally vanished from Twitter and Facebook.
I think the mexican pizzas look tasty, but is that even two bites worth of beans? Does Kate have the measuring cups and food scale out on the counter while she prepares the children's meals?
Did you happen to notice that Khate had to make sure we seen she is going green with the plates. I think it is the first time I didn't see their food on paper plates. Also she has taken a bunch of pictures today to show how great she is with her heart themed food. Yet she couldn't take a picture of the boxes that were made over the weekend. Hmmm makes you think they didn't exist or she didn't like how the kids decorated them.

Indeed, she has some major OCD and control issues and the older the kids get and grow as individuals, the more pathetic it makes her look trying to keep them marketable categorized commodities in her twisted greedy head.
I was wondering if it's unusual that the Gosselin children still bring their lunches to school. It may be just the area I live in but most children around here eat the school lunches served in the cafeteria. The exception is children who have severe food allergies.

I do not have kids, but over the years have had nephews
and nieces stay with us. I instinctively seemed to know to ask them what
they like to eat. So, after subtracting out high-sugar
adding back in their desires, I plunked down a variety
of cereals, toast, fruit, yogurt and let them put together
(for themselves), what they wanted, and what filled them
up. I am not a parent, just someone who remembers being
a kid, and making choices for myself.
Does it really matter how many kids are sitting around
the table? I just don't get that concept. It can't be a
free-for-all, but it also can not, should not, be what
we witnessed seeing on those kids plates this morning.
Over the years, I grew to know what my nephews and
nieces likes and dislikes were, and as a good Auntie
I made sure each meal I prepared for them reflected
their preferences. We always served family-style,
oversaw their portions, but let them choose and
serve themselves, even at the young age of 7. Yes,
we helped, but we did not control, (other than manners)
their choices.

Kate has always slightly been about weight and food, even way back in the day.
She once said that Collin is the biggest, he's the big eater.
And even once because one of the girls didn't get the color plate she wanted Jon said, "Look, it's more food on this one."
Kate's always dolled out their food and she probably will continue to do so. I think to her it says, "look at me, I slaved over making each plate perfect."
Kate has said in the past a real cook never uses a recipe (uh-huh), that the kids don't have a clue what fast-food is (yet they've eaten it).
And why react angrily? That right there is a huge red flag. That's her first reaction to everything it's as plain as day on all their episodes.
And more than likely she will continue to group her kids together as twos, threes, sixes and eights until the kids rebel simple as that.

I have a relative who runs a business in Lititz, and she said that her daughter's friend was there at the time. I didn't know about it until a few days ago, and since that discussion was over some time ago, I didn't see the need to continue it, especially since it couldn't be substantiated. However, someone day said something about eating a burger, and I wondered where that came from since I heard she had a salad. That's the only reason I mentioned it. Perhaps I shouldn't have.
I apologize. I won't say anything more that I know or what I hear. I certainly wasn't bragging that I was in the know, because half of the time, there's not much I do know!

What is Kate and beans? I don't know about anyone here, but when I eat pizza, that is it, nothing else. Even when I was working, we ordered pizza and that was it, no salad, beans, or anything else. Just assorted pizzas. If those are the plates I think they are, they are small, so are the pizzas. So why couldn't Kate make a big heart shape pizza and put all the stuff the kids like on it, then let them eat as much as they liked. The way Kate does it, the food would be cold by time they get it and eat it. If those are made like pizza for one, then rice & beans are not needed. It's over kill. Kate should saved the rice & beans for next day burritos, threw some ground turkey in, NO SALSA, lettuce and diced tomato, and hey you got a meal. Kids would love it.

Hi KontrolFreak. I agree about too much sugar, but healthy fats are essential to ensuring that the brain is properly nourished. This country went crazy for a long time with experts crying that fat was terrible and recommending that we should eliminate it from our diet. It was flawed thinking and has been pointed to as contributing to the obesity epidemic we now face in the U.S.
Luckily, the science of nutrition has evolved further and it is now known that the healthiest diet provides a good mix of proteins, healthy fats and carbohydrates. People don't realize that even overweight or obese individuals can suffer from malnutrition. Unfortunately, the word "fat" still holds a negative stigma.
I know Kate wants to appear all knowing, but she would do well to consult with a registered dietitian or nutritionist to learn how to feed her kids and herself properly. She would probably feel a whole lot less exhausted-ish if she was nourishing herself better.

The 2 pizza plates with the double heart

than the others. The ones on the pink plates look quite small.

When I make mexican pizzas I always put refried beans on the pizza and whatever is left gets put on the side of the plate. I also always serve it with rice. I tried so hard to like Kate's dinner but where are the fruits and veggies??? There are only a few veggies scattered on a few pizzas and that's it. It's a decent dinner if the kids got a good serving of fruit and veggies on the side or dumped on the pizza. Side of pineapple, grapes, a salad, carrots and broccoli and peppers to dip in salad dressing, all things that will go with pizza. She served rice and beans because it's a mexican pizza. It's like serving rice and beans with tacos, but she needs to hit the other food groups.
Especially since we didn't see a single fruit at breakfast, where are they getting all the servings of fruits/veggies kids/people need? Add a few servings of that and they won't be so hungry. I used to be really hungry by 10am even after a huge bowl of cereal or oatmeal or eggs. But the simple act of throwing on some fruit made a huge difference in feeling satisfied. Fruits/veggies are the fiber that fills you up for severa hours. And, they're just good for you.
And Kate, don't like the criticism, stop posting what your kids eat at every meal. Just stop. No one will have anything to say if we have no idea what your kids eat.

I still don't understand why government employees need Keurigs. How many posts were there with long, detailed explanations on WHERE to buy a cheap coffeemaker, HOW INEXPENSIVE they are, WHAT BRAND to buy, and HOW to make coffee just like the Keurig machines. Lord of the Beans, I can't say I disagree, but playing devil's advocate here,
maybe those serving our country are supplied with that kind of coffee because it has a ton of different kinds and maybe they feel like it's just a little gesture to boost morale to give each troop whatever cup they want. I think you can even get hot chocolate or tea, and it's FAST. If I were a soldier it would be nice to have whatever kind of coffee I want in 60 seconds instead of having to always drink what everyone else is drinking. They do so much for us and so many have died or been hurt in the past few years, I am willing to fork over a few extra bucks a year so our troops can have good coffee and lots of choices. Believe me troops do without. A good friend of mine showed us pictures of where he slept in Iraq--in a sandy ditch. So they're saving money on beds. He can have his coffee, however much he wants, whatever kind he wants.

As far as food goes, I made fun of Kate for eating a rice cake at a HOCKEY GAME. That's not a veggie. She let the kids eat hotdogs as she should because it's vacation and a HOCKEY GAME. They had a pretzel earlier as well they should. There were two other meals that day we don't know about.
I made fun of Kate for forcing Mady to eat a cheese steak when Mady wanted a salad. The kid wanted something nutritious and Kate forced her to eat crap.

There was a 6th birthday episode filmed at a local restaurant of Kart cutting grilled chicken sandwiches into quarters. She also ordered macaroni and broccoli for the tups. The portion control freak couldn't even allow the tups to order their own kids meals when they were working. She made sure to order her bowl of chili first. Her hungry, tired, sick and overworked kids had to wait for their food.
I remember this episode, too!! Admin, today is (was) Valentine's Day? Why the mean name calling?
I remember that too. It was at a posh restaurant, not a fast food place -- Hudsons or Watsons or something like that Admin. Kate ordered 2 chicken sandwiches and proceeded to cut them up into quarters for the kids. It was a year or so ago. Instead of allowing the kids to order their own sides, like cole slaw or orange sections or the like, she insisted that they have broccoli with their meal. I don't think it was during the Philly episode, I think it was during the spring, maybe around the time of the little kids birthday. Anyway, Little Sprout, the objection at the time wasn't the broccoli, it was that Kate allowed the kids no ChOICE at all in what they ate, made them share 2 sandwiches instead of having their own meal, and manhandled all their food.
That dinner was at Austin's where KT ordered their food and had it sent to her, while the kids watched intently she was very slowly and deliberately cutting it into halves and quarters. Rearranging the plates, patting the food, etc. It was pretty obvious that she was making them wait. She sat there lingering over all their food longer than was necessary to divide the sandwiches and sides. They were very hungry. Al. took her fork and was going through the motions of eating off the table while she waited. It was bizarre. I felt sad for the kids. She doesn't feed them until they are as she says in a full blown low blood sugar meltdown which is a kind way of saying their tummies are empty, and they are very hungry. She could have very easily had the kitchen quarter up the sandwiches and split the sides into six. It was another one of surreal moments captured on film that you don't forget.
And to think, that was the breakfast that she pre-prepped the day before.
I just had a crazy vision of Kate in a mental health facility, acting up, when she realized that her acting like a 'stah' days were over, money all gone, all alone.
She was stomping around,texting on an old cig. pack and frantically yelling. 'HELLO!I want Nobu! Steve, Jon, where are you? Did you hear me? Where are those damn kids, they should be running now to help me!
She had that angry,p/o'd look on her face she reserves for her kids and the mediocres of the world.I have a feeling it may play out like this, if she continues on this pretending to be someone phase. Here's a free tip Kate,' get a job,the end is near, no one is giving you a job you lazy ho' bag.'

That meal at Austin's was so weird. Kate shushed the kids repeatedly throughout the meal and cut those chicken sandwiches in silence....so slowly...and touched every last bit of food those kids got to eat. Jumping In, I had to smile about your comment. It reminds me of when our granddaughter comes over and when I ask what she wants for dinner the response is almost always the same, "I'll have the usual".
Her "usual" is a couple slices of turkey, mashed potatoes, a scrambled egg and strawberries/blueberries topped w/whipped cream for dessert. We've learned to never run out of these items. :)

One thing I just realized about those pictures of their dinner and breakfast. Kate has to get the plates set up in order to take a picture, then climb on a chair or something(because it's an overhead shot), and then take the picture. The food must be COLD before the kids even get to take a bite.
I can just hear the kids saying they're hungry, and Kate saying "but I must take a picture for my tweeties."

Yes, Kate did comment about Jon's eating and his weight. There's a nice, caring way to do it, and when you're married, it's easier to let go a bit. There are a couple reasons to dole food out or "plate" food. One is portion control, which is good in many cases, such as wanting to control or lose weight. Good.
Another is to not control food, but to control a person and how much they consume, especially if they have no say in portion size or second helpings.
Plating food also simply saves on dishes. I admit to doing that to cut corners, but not all the time and not at the expense of not teaching children manners and socialization.
That said, I'm an adult who grew up knowing how to eat family style and I really appreciate that.
Think about it, the twins are going to be teenagers soon and their mother puts their food on their plate for them? It's infantile and Kate, especially not working her 12, 14, 16 hour nursing shifts should advance the dining skills of her children so they can handle themselves as adults.
I know people whose children can set a formal table and know how to progress through flatware as a meal progresses, and know which bread plate is theirs!
It's such an important skill to have in business, and the learning should be ingrained by the time one gets to the point of doing interviews, etc.

I do see from the picture that she made the attempt to have the pizzas individualized with different toppings. Why bother with the heart shape when the plates where enough for V-Day? We didn't do family style much because of the very reason of dirtying more bowls and dishes than necessary. But I distinctly remember when we were called to dinner we'd each go to the stove and mom would dish the plates out and ask US how much do you want of this or that. Instead of her deciding the portion, we decided. With the exception of vegetables, we couldn't pass on those. And as we got older we dished up the plates ourselves directly from the stove top.
Sprout didn't lie about the broccoli apparently, but did lie about me complaining about broccoli in a recap. I never recapped the Austin's episode or said that Kate shouldn't have given them broccoli.
Night shifter, Sprout went on the attack out of nowhere and accused me of something I did't say to try to prove me a hypocrite, so, yes, I replied calling it like it is--a lie. A better approach perhaps might be, did you ever recap the Austin episode and where could I find that?
Even so I agree with reader lady's assessment of Kate's control. It is a restaurant and a treat, let them choose what they want. The theme of control is ever present when it comes to Kate feeding her children.
The Duggars last night wasn't about the miscarriage. It was even worse, they used everyone's knowledge of the miscarriage to try to entice people to watch what happens. It was just a false alarm scare where it took them awhile to find the heartbeat, but finally did.
I really can't believe those people using this pregnancy we all know is doomed as the running theme this season. It's like watching the Titanic sink.

I did watch the Duggars, and an older episode, when they were at the Bates house: one thing I can say is when they fed the families(Duggars/Bates), they said that the little ones(baby to say 5), they gave them portioned food, (the amount they knew they would eat)the rest got to eat as much as they wanted. Not like Kate it is measured and probably weighed portions. By time the G8 got their food if hot, it would be cold.

Aggiemom: yes the kids would be very hungry when the wake up. They go to bed at 7:30pm-8pm, they eat dinner between 5pm-6pm, thats almost 12 hours, without food. Kate has never mention that the kids have a snack or cup of milk, in the evening before bed. And even if they did, 12 hours is a long time.
Oh, this is just too funny. I never watched that Dr. Drew show, but I thought I'd try to find it on my satellite schedule to see if it has any info on next week's show. So far, they do not have the episode info listed for next week's shows, BUT today's show is the one Khate should be on:

With all due respect Admin, why even have Rule #1 if it's rarely enforced:
1. Do not use Anonymous. Pick a name (click Name/URL to type in a name) and stick to the same name.
Khate's lonely and bored fans have been having a field day over here lately. They post as Anonymous, and they also use hit and run names - both of which violate Rule #1.
Time and time again I have popped in here only to see an Anon post a snotty remark or a thinly veiled attack (often against Admin), receive a response (precisely their objective), and then step it up with each and every subsequent post until it's completely out of hand.

or two, or a whole hamburger to eat. They were not interested in the scallops at all, but Jon was. But in essence, he was in charge of dinner that night, who wanted what, and the kids ate up.

Yes. Jon is apparently a very good grill master and there was an abundance and variety of food.
That fruit salad popped up time and again during episode filming and I'm convinced it's part of the food provided on set. I really don't think I can be convinced that Kate bought, cleaned and chopped all that fruit. Nope. Her "lunchly duties" were serving up what craft service provided.
