'Dance Mom' Melissa calls Kate out: 'I am not a bad mom. You should understand reality T.V.!'

Amazing. Kate has even managed to tick off a fellow child exploiter

Melissa, Maddie (left) and Mackenzie

And now it's time for another "You did not just say that, Krieder" moment. Ah, the Dance Moms. Pennsylvania's newest child exploiters on the scene. And Kate's got an opinion. Yesterday she had the audacity to take issue with their show, tweeting this:

@Jxxxx um dance.. Yes. Um those horrible Dance moms? never ever ever!

Turns out who should see this tweet but Melissa Ziegler, devoted mommy of dancers Mackenzie, and Maddie, who is usually at the top of the (fake) pyramid. Oh, and, oops! Melissa is from Kate's area and was a big fan who used to defend Kate. That is until Kate picked a fight. Today Melissa tweeted the following back to Kate:

Dancemom1313 I heard you were bad mouthing our show "dance moms". I have always supported you and ur show! U should understand reality tv! I grew up in New Holland, PA so that's why I watched your show then I feel in love with your kids. I am not a bad Mom

Baw-ha-ha! Oh, we just love it when child exploiters fight amongst themselves. It's our turn to say you go, girl. You go, Melissa. Call this fool out.

One poor sheep is trying to explain that Kate meant that Dance Moms was fake and that's the difference.

Um, did she not listen to Jodi and Kevin's sworn testimony??? Kate's show was fake TOO.

Here, let me think.

When you rent a video or a DVD, you usually see a portion in the Special Features or Bonus Features on the screen that will eventually lead you to a list of options, Select Scenes and or Deleted Scenes.

Imagine if you will for a moment, that any movie you chose to watch never had this option because every take, every scene that was preformed had been done so flawlessly.

That's what Kate wants you to believe, that's what her sheeple buy into.

People forget that just because a TV show is on your screen and you can turn it on and off, or flip channels, pause it on occasion or fast forward the commercials because you have that fancy TiVo or whatever, it still means that every show you watch, INCLUDING REALITY TV has scenes that have been edited, shortened or maybe necessarily not even filmed in the order that they appear on your screen.

Kate's show had that segment "Cutting Room Floor." Hence the given idea that not everything that was captured, shot and or put into the show, it doesn't make it real life. It makes it edited, processed, turned around, shortened and given the name Bonus Feature just like all the other movies you watch.

What is the point of calling it Reality TV? Reality is making mistakes and not being able to go back and fix them like you can when you edit out a scene of Kate screaming or being annoyed. If it was real life, you would have gotten all the unaired shots and there would have been no need to use or make an episode out of the Cutting Room Floor.

What makes Dance Moms fake and Kate's realest of Reality shows different? Absolutely. Nothing. Makes. Them Different.

If it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck but is wearing a swam outfit I don't pity how blind you are.

I think Kate is either just jealous of Dance Moms or she tried to get on the show and was told no.

The main moms are not too bad. They would even be considered saints when compared to Kate. The new mom Jill is a piece of work and could give Kate a run for her money.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 8

Dance Moms is an exploitive show but it's not the worst show we've ever seen and doesn't hold a candle to what Kate has done. These girls are exploited when it comes to just one facet of their lives, dance. I couldn't tell you about Maddie pooping her underwear's or Brooke's first period because the show doesn't go into that stuff. We rarely even see their dads or other friends or even their homes. The moms don't talk about anything other than dance. It's one SEGMENT of their life.

I don't even think Abbie is comparable to Kate. I hate her methods of teaching dance, but her methods will still be her methods reality show or not. Don't bring your kids there if you don't like it. If enough people say this is not right, she'll go out of business it's as simple as that.

I don't like this reality show, it is not a good thing, but it just doesn't even approach the level Kate did, not even close. That's why this is so darn funny, Kate saying they are "horrible." Kate, they're no picnic, but the horrible one is YOU.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 9

Best Stuff, I think Kate IS jealous, ironically. I think she knows that she simply doesn't have the will-power to sit up in that waiting room hour after hour like all those moms do purely dedicated your time and money to your child. There is no way she would ever commit that much time, effort, driving, energy, and money to one of her kids. And she hates to watch other moms do it.

Not saying it's a good thing to be so obsessed with pushing your kid to dance, but Kate just can't fathom this kind of commitment.

Do I think it's crazy what these moms do, absolutely. But I don't doubt for a second their love and commitment to their children, however misguided.

Best stuff in life is cheep. said... 10

You are right that it is an exploitive show. More laws need to be made to protect the girls on the show. The girls are lucky that Kate caused PA to pass some laws. Children on Reality TV should be treated the same as children on regular TV shows.

I dont watch dance moms most of the time. I saw a few episodes last season and two this season. I dont plan on watching any more. I think that Kate desensitized me in some of the exploitive things I have seen on T.V. She also made me hate all other reality tv.

I don't think that the level of abuse approaches Kate, for the reasons that admin cited. we don't even see 10% of the time those kids are in the studio. it is an elite dance troupe, much more like select athletics. I haven't heard anything on that show that I haven't heard sitting in the bleachers at my kids Little League games.

Those girls practice several hours every single day of their life--What little we see is so obviously scripted! Those kids are skilled actresses--this an acting job, in addition to dance training. Those kids have a work ethic and none of these kids started dancing because of the show.
Kate's criticism would be funny if it didn't, once again, show how off reality she really is. Time will tell what this great experiment will do to kids-- I sincerely hope that the money girls make will be protected. But, let's face it--the probability is that some won't, but hopefully, some will. I haven't heard anyone giving up their day jobs yet, and having their children work to support their families-- but, it is only in the second season.

Pam said... 12

I guess Kate is officially a HATER just like she says we are.

She is also insanely jealous that another reality show with kids is very popular, and she has to sit her butt at home...no more trips...no more paycheck.

Given that

"23.1. Required health services.

School districts and joint school boards shall provide the following health services for children of school age who are attending or who should attend an elementary, grade or high school, either public or private, and children who are attending a kindergarten which is an integral part of a local school district

(3) Vision screening tests"

And

"23.4. Vision screening tests.

Vision screening tests shall be conducted annually by a nurse, teacher or medical technician. The Snellen Chart or other Screening device approved by the Department of Health shall be utilized for vision screening."

I guess the yearly vision screenings that the kids' school is required by PA law to give every child are just not good enough for Kate. Unless the screenings at school indicated a need for further evaluation, the ophthalmologist was unnecessary for the kids with the exception of the one who already wears corrective lenses.  She chooses to take them to an eye doctor anyway.

Bringing over from last topic:
Ms Kreider is boring. I do not like dance moms either, but those women spend their time and money to help their children develop their talent, and those kids are dedicated.
I have to compare to the proud parents of sports players. Like... Drum roll, please: the Virginia Commonwealth University Rams who won the Colonial Athletic Association championship tonight in Richmond, and who will next be playing in the NCAA tournament! Quite a few proud parents were in the crowd tonight, and you know those kids did not get to college by themselves! How many parents drove their kids to practice, waited around for hours, sold stuff to help support their high school teams, washed uniforms, and did whatever else to help their children grow and develop and nurture their talent. I cannot imagine Ms Kreider taking the time or interest to have that kind of dedication

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 15

On another note, Kate doesn't want anyone to criticize her or her show until they have 8 kids but she can throw the Dance Moms under the bus just like that calling them "horrible" without batting an eye. Has anyone called her on her this point? How does SHE know until she's had her children in dance?

And as misguided and questionable as this hard core dance stuff is, there is something a little more "pure" about the Dance Moms. They had these kids in dance and were forking over thousands of dollars years before this reality show ever came along and they will still have their kids in dance years after the show ends. Nothing was manufactured as to the big picture for the reality show--this dedication to their children's dancing IS their life and with or without cameras there is just no question the kids come first--again, however misguided. Okay, so I really don't like it, but at least they aren't faking their commitment to their kids or faking this lifestyle like Kate fakes hers.

fidosmommy said... 16

You go to an opthamologist for far more than a vision screening and prescription for glasses.
They are trained to detect diseases of the eye
and to treat them. I started going to an
opthamologist when I was 3 years old and I have never had any use for an optomitrist. I have a specific INHERITED eye problem.

It's possible that the kids got the school screening and at least one was told to get a followup visit with an opthamologist.

Just a thought.

*******************************************

As has been previously posted, this Dance MOm show is scriped. Scripted = fake. It's also been mentioned the viewer is only seeing a 'small portion' of their lives. What is going on when the cameras are off - during the big picture of their lives?

I guess I would just stronly caution anyone believing they are getting the whole story with this garbage tv genre.

Even though Kate repeatedly said "This is the realest reality show out there", viewers are acutely aware that there were definite storylines, kids told to act a certain way or say a certain thing and that none of the 'activities' or 'trips' they took were planned nor paid for by Jon and Kate.

JMO, but be wary. ;)

Check Please! 13 said ". . . the ophthalmologist was unnecessary for the kids with the exception of the one who already wears corrective lenses."

Babies born at or earlier than 30 weeks gestational age, or low birth weight babies can develop a condition called retinopathy of prematurity, which can cause blindness. Snellen screening does not provide an exam of the retina. That requires a dilated eye exam. The kids may all be okay, or they may all have mild ROP. At any rate, I don't fault Kate for having periodic follow-up exams by an ophthalmologist. It's much better to be safe than sorry.

Ex-Nurse,
You paid $115 for your Bose ear buds? I paid $80 for mine- neener neener! Only kidding, but it does look like I got a good deal. Did you get the traditional ear bud cover, or the new, better designed, shaped to stay in your ear cover? I had to order those. I don't even use my Bose for runs, I have a pair of Sony ear buds I use because I am so rough on my things during workouts- gone through multiple MP3 players (dont get me started on ipods- hate them abd apple and itunes, I am on 4th one and it sits in drawer, collecting dust).
Anyway- I will come out of the closet- I love Dance Moms! From the first time I saw the show I was hooked. I had hoped they were staging the drama because women CERTAINLY couldn't act like that in reality...could they? Kate would never devote such time to her children like the dance moms do. Oh and Kate, The dance girls are the most famous kids in PA, and if anyone causes a 'panic' , I think it would be those girls (but that wouldn't happen either, people don't behave that way). Ok, I like Wife Swap, too, and it shows families that are even more controlling than Kate- I didn't think that was possible!

I'm out too. I love Dance Moms. I love to watch those girls dance. The moms are not gadding about the country having luxury vacations while the kids are home with a nanny. They are sitting in a studio watching their kids and going to all their shows, making costumes, doing their hair and makeup. The kids are working for a future and have tremendous talent. Their private life outside the studio at home is never exposed.

I understand Abby Lee. She is a coach and she is preparing these girls for their future as well. Some of them will earn full scholarships to an Ivy League school and will go on to dance professionally. It will be a bumpy road and I think Abby is preparing them for that. I do see tender moments outside the focus of the camera between her and the kids.

Do the ladies argue and in front of the kids at times? Yes, but I think those are the moments that are captured for TV, because that is what reality TV does. You can see when they are watching the kids on stage that they actually do all support one another in the end.

A far cry from KT. She showed her kids (and continues to show) most private lives on and never showed support for them and admittedly did not care what was captured. She just wanted them to work and earn their keep and support her in a lavish lifestyle so that she could hire nannies for the workaday management of running a household with 8 kids freeing her up to do the special things that she announces to the world like she has actually done something.

I think there is no comparison between the Dance Moms and KT. Does anyone that think that out in some of the wild places they went to that KT would put herself between her kids and danger? I don't. Do I think that any one of the dance moms would - absolutely, they would fight to the bitter end for their kids.

Pity Party said... 22

Oh and one more thing before I go off to my mediocre job that I love. I doubt KT paid a dime for those B. ear plugs but you can bet that her 10 fans will cough up the money for a pair so they can be like KT, yuck. She said it herself, that is the way it goes - sorry.

Dance moms is only slightly different than having your child act in a show. The girls show up to 'set' ie the dance studio and KNOW they are being filmed to dance and preform for television. The KNOW things are set up.
I say slightly because - they are still children and it is still their moms who are 'acting up' instead of another actress. So even if they know it is fake, it would still affect them differently. And with it being reality tv...in PA....who knows how their finances are being kept.

Kate, in your new quest for stardom for M (her dream is Disney isn't it?), these dance kids are only some of what she'd be up against. If it's really HER dream, get her into some classes so that she can compete on an even playing field. I'm afraid that the school music/chorus lessons will not be enough since most kids trying to break in to the business have had years of training.

Dance Moms is an ok show IMO as it's being scripted is a relief- Abby is not so villainess and the arguments are not real. Those girls are talented, and there are funny moments as well. It's not my favorite, but very unnecessary for K to bash it without good cause. She gets so upset when a Tweet questions her or her show!

I also have to raise my hand as a Dance Moms fan. The sitting around of the moms reminds me of my time as a Dojo Mom. Although we didn't fight like the Dance Moms do, I can remember spending at least two hours a day, 6 days a week in the Dojo with my son from age 7 through high school. He is a talented martial artist and competed until he went away to college. Could he have gone alone once he got older, of course but we enjoyed the time with him and he didn't mind that we were there. As he grew so did his skills and he also began to teach the younger students. Things like dance, karate, swimming, gymnastics and any/all sports take a lot of time and dedication from both the kids and the parents. I don't think Kate has it in her to put herself on the back burner to take any of the kids to any kinds of classes like this and let them shine (we all remember the gymnastics episonde). My husband also spent many, many hours at the Dojo and on the tournament circuit when he wasn't TDY. Neither of us regret that time, we enjoyed it.

Hey, there's a new reality show, Dojo Dads - I'd better trade mark the idea!

I am not familiar with Dance Moms, but perhaps Kate is jealous that these mothers have talented kids that (in Kate's mind) may translate in to show business careers with big paychecks down the line.

Kate knows her kids are just average kids, their fame is in a number, EIGHT. As they do not have a marketable talent, Kate calls attention to them by sharing whatever personal information information pops in to her head, 'look over here, my twins grew boobs, that's a talent, isn't it?'

Dmasy said... 32

The girls on Dance Moms are amazingly talented.

I wonder why Kate thought the moms were horrible? Maybe she was referring to their fashion choices. Because for the most part, they dress like regular styled-up women. The black mom is very classic in clothing and hair styles.

Could be Kate thinks they are "dowdy".

Look at all of you Dance Mom fans coming out! I don't watch but sure know about it. Actually, I did watch segments on YouTube in which each Mom got to invite the cameras to the girls' homes and check out their digs and the bedrooms. The bedrooms (no girls in them!) were all similar with pretty decor, lots of trophies and pictures and just generally a dream place for most little girls.
They are obviously loved and I do get that the moms are dedicated to developing their girls and the talents they have. Unfortunately, I don't see Kate ever doing this. I don't think there will be any Scouts/Eagles, cheerleading, gymnastics, ballet, soccer etc.
8 kids and not one has had the support, time and effort put into developing talents and interests, especially when it comes to group activities, clubs and learning outside of siblings.

Gee, the picture that leads this new post is a pedophile's delight.
Same for Kate's kids on reality tv.
I don't see any difference.

I guess ANY kid on tv is fair game, same as looking at kids on school web pages, social media, etc.

Even if Dance moms IS scripted, these kids are still WORKING. Wonder how much the kids and their moms get paid?

I was watching a scripted fictional show on tv the other day, one of the actors was carrying a baby..it made me think, 'how did the parents of that baby know it wanted to act?' Even kid actors, very young ones, are put out there by the parents...perhaps to achieve money for the parents, or the parents wanting the kid to make money to fund it's own raising.
Really, what's the difference? None of these shows would have kids on them, fictional or reality, if the parents weren't willing to exploit their kids.
It really makes me take off the rose colored glasses, all those years of watching Donnie and Marie, the Jackson 5....years later, these stars all have shared how hard it was, how much work it was, and how they missed having a childhood.

Which is all well and good if you can afford it, just don't go moaning about expensive it is to raise 8 kids. But, yes, I agree, the nanny, laundry girl, and whoever it is that SWIFFERS all those hardwood floors must be very expensive.

Layla said... 48

Of course money is an issue. I'm willing to bet that she has figured out exactly how long her stash will last her, and she's going to resist getting a real job until it is completely gone. And even when it is all gone, she will expect someone to come along and save her from her predicament, rather than deal with it herself. That's why she wants a man--she wants someone to blame for everything and to badger into taking care of her and the kids, so she doesn't have to deal with any of it. She'll put "her" money away and expect the man to pay her way, but he will have no right, in her mind, to touch what is "hers". The house will her "hers", not "theirs", even if he is the one paying the mortgage. The kids will be "hers" even if he is paying their tuition and living expenses.
She absolutely believes that she is special, and there's no way someone as special as she is should ever be expected to work with all those mediocre people out there in the world. The idea of working a mediocre job is beyond her comprehension, and she blocks it out whenever the thought comes into her head. THAT'S what keeps her up at night, and that's why she blocks any "negative" tweets. She's very happy in her little fantasy world, with all 6 of her loyal followers kissing her a** and assuring her that she is just too special to ever have to deal with reality. Her blocking every non-adoring tweet is her way of sticking her fingers in her ears and yelling, "la-la-la" to drown out the sounds of reality. Here's a little reality for her--she has no new show (you know, the kind where she doesn't have to have talent or do any pesky preparation, just has to show up and talk at a camera for an hour, then go home and collect her quarter-million-dollar paycheck). There's no man who will work himself to death to give her everything she wants/needs/desires, yet doesn't claim any of it as his own. There's just Kate and eight HUGE responsibilities. I think we're headed for a major meltdown, and I intend to be here to watch it happen. Show's started folks, pass the popcorn!

Regarding the kids being dolled up, there are lots of times the moms fight with Abby about a costume that is too risqué or a dance number is too adult, etc.

Holly pulled her kid out of the lead for a dance about bullying, it just made her uncomfortable to even see her kid playing such a part. And the moms threw a fit when guns were used in a dance. They also thought the kids were way too young to do a dance about getting married and that it was creepy.

Anyway, I don't disagree this is all so questionable. But the moms DO stand up for their daughters and they do stand up to Abby and they do draw lines on the sand. By no means do they just blindly go along with whatever they are to do. I can't imagine Kate drawing any kind of line, she never has before. If it makes money she does it.

DM is so on thin ice but please, especially with Kate's walk down memory vomit lane this morning, it cannot even come close to what Kate did to her kids.

I wonder if she would have divorced Jon if there were no show at the time. She still had the show at that point, and figured it would go on forever. Therefore, money wouldn't have been a problem. She could kiss Jon off, with no money worries. However, without a show, would she have been so fast to kick him to the curb, knowing that the money wasn't coming in, and she would probably have to get a job? Or would she just bite the bullet and deal with him, knowing that at least he was a meal ticket?

She cried when she saw what? The vomiting vest? the bucket exchange? Is that what she means? This woman is seriously out of her mind and so are the sheeple who continue to kiss her butt with the glorification of child exploitation. It's frightening to think that her fans would do the same thing to their own children if given the chance. Thankfully, they'll never have that opportunity.

@Kateplusmy8 Dont you feel Blessed you have those memories on tape :) They are for sure treasures into the past for you and your kids.

Blessed to have videos of kids lying in their own vomit? Oh, sure, these are "treasures" that the children are going to take great delight in showing to their friends, spouses and their own children. I suspected that sheeple were dealing with only half a brain cell, but this exchange really confirmed it.

&&&

That's part of what I mean when I say it's pure. Nothing has really changed. They're still riding a broken down bus to competitions, they're still sitting up there in the waiting room for hours and hours on end, they still have to fork over thousands of dollars to pay for all this, they still go to dance competitions, Abby is still in her same mediocre studio.

I may hate Abby's methods, but I firmly believe in her love and dedication to these children. Her goal is to make them employable come adulthood and that's it, period. Her goal is not to get more sleep or have vacations for herself or VIP luxury planes and buses to whatever. They all must work 7 days a week between practice all week and then competitions all weekend. Kate could not even begin to understand putting someone else first like that. Nor could she begin to understand having other motivations for a reality show other than to make yourself tons of money, get famous, and live a VIP life.

Also I've noticed how PISSED Abby gets when parents even miss a practice let alone a dance competition. Oh boy does she let you have it. She has made it crystal clear this is not something where you just drop your child off and I do the rest. If you want to do this you have to be fully dedicated to it yourself and THERE for your child, by their side.

She goes so far as to punish a child for a parent not being there. Extreme and terrible, yes, but at least she doesn't let parents treat this like daycare. If you're going to do this to your child, the least you can do is be there.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 57

As has been previously posted, this Dance MOm show is scriped. Scripted = fake. It's also been mentioned the viewer is only seeing a 'small portion' of their lives. What is going on when the cameras are off - during the big picture of their lives?

&&&&

Perspective, there is no question that DM is scripted. I.e. the fights, the pyramid, etc. No one is denying this.

What is not scripted is the dedication to dance. The girls can't go out there and do what they do without years and years of being in that studio. You cannot fake that dedication, that time, that money spent to get them there. There is nothing to be "fooled" about that, those girls are REAL dancers with REAL dedication.

Interesting article at Lainey Gossip. I won't post it here, but Admin...have a look (delete if inappropriate for me to mention it). Sound like anyone we know? LOL! "She’s supposed to be the doting mother. Ask the people who help her with her kids. They certainly don’t agree."

Pam said... 59

I like the show "Dance Moms".

That said, would I allow my daughter to be treated that way? NO

BUT, my daughter has no desire to be a professional dancer, either.

Abby is tough and mean, but so are hundreds of Pee Wee and high school football coaches who get in the boys' faces and yell for making mistakes. I witnessed a high school football coach slap a player in the helmet..hard! But the boys' deal with it because professional football is their dream.

Kate called the dance moms, "Horrible". But we got a little taste of what Kate would be like as a dance mom when she took her kids to gymnastics lessons that one time. She was rude to the staff, aggressive, and bossy! If you ask me, Kate would be more like Jill or Cathy on "Dance Moms"...or even that Payton girl's mother who was a lunatic. I think she (Kate) is insanely jealous that she has all these women to compete with now who live so close to her. She's not Pennsylvania's star anymore.

Not even a teeny, tiny part of her can try to understand why Jon wanted to end the show even if she disagrees? She can't understand that his opinion is different but not necessarily wrong? I haven't read all the comments yet so I hope I'm not repeating something already mentioned.

Dance Moms is very different from Kate+8. None of my comments should be considered a slight on the Gosselin kids because that's not my intention. Here's my comparison of Dance Moms vs. Kate:

--Dance children are talented, G8 are not.
--Moms watch their children in practice and attend competition, Kate does neither.
--Dance Moms are concerned that their child doesn't get enough of Abby's instruction or are not on top of the pyramid. Kate has no concern for her children
--One of the mothers balances a professional career w/being at the studio/competition for her child. Kate has no career.
--Dance Moms showcases the dancers, eh, and the Moms too. K+8 is all about Kate with children thrown in as secondary characters.
--Dance children are working towards a goal. G8 are just working (sad, sad).
--Dance Moms only shows the childrens' lives when its dance. K+8 about everything, including private moments, of G8 are shown.
--Dance Moms, when one dancer was injured. The mother did not hesitate to scoop up her child, comfort the child and then get her medical help. K8, well, never shows affection to her children.
--Dance Moms seem to have money but IMO don't discuss their finances. K8 is all about fame and money.
--Dance Moms is on TV, K+8 is cancelled.

Kate's tweet about Dance Moms is truly a "picture worth a thousand words" when it comes to showing her narcissism. Doesn't she realize how hypocritical she is being? Why no...she doesn't. Her narcissism allows her to see herself as being absolutely nothing like the mothers on Dance Mom. They are horrible....but she is wonderful.

This is why she can constantly contradict herself and think absolutely nothing of it. If Kate is asked question A and replies with a self-glorifying comment but then when asked question B and replies with an equally self-glorifying comment....that totally contradicts her reply to question A......that is not a problem that she sees. Because no matter how many questions Kate is asked....the answer is ALWAYS that SHE is always right and SHE is always the victim and everyone else is wrong.....and any contradictions and/or hypocrisies are completely non-existent to her. Each question is a single event...with the answer always showing Kate as she sees herself at that moment....and is totally unrelated to any prior response that may totally contradict it. Her narcissism makes her unable to see the big picture.....she is simply always right at any given moment....even if it's totally unrelated to reality, can be proven wrong or completely contradicts a prior statement she made.
Those little details don't really matter to a narcissist.

First, I don't think Kate should respond to any crap like this, but... what is the twitterer talking about? Is it about Jon wanting the kids off TV, or the way Jon acted/was shown in the very last episode or two?
I'm thinking of the Fire Station fund raising story. I thought Jon acted poorly and was short tempered with the twins. He was shown working the fence line and attached to his phone like an umbilical cord. And his "Lies Lies Lies" shirt was infantile.
It was not easy to watch that one, and sad because it was the beginning of some really poor behavior on Jon's part, and it really was a departure from the Jon that is the doting, loving dad.

Check Please:

I guess the yearly vision screenings that the kids' school is required by PA law to give every child are just not good enough for Kate. Unless the screenings at school indicated a need for further evaluation, the ophthalmologist was unnecessary for the kids with the exception of the one who already wears corrective lenses. She chooses to take them to an eye doctor anyway

***********************************************

This IS a necessary appt for the kids who were on O2 for so long. A "vision screening" test would do just that-screen for problems seeings. The kids have to have their eyes dilated to look at their optic nerve. This is actually a GOOD thing Kate did and you may think you are an expert in vision screenings at school and can certainly spend the time to find the paragraph from the Dept of Ed, but don't bitch about something that you are not knowledge about. Makes you look, well not very smart.

Given that

*******************

You are misinterpreting the law. The private school is not required to provide vision screenings. The local public school district that the children would have attended is required to provide vision screenings to children, regardless of whether they are enrolled in public school. No Child Left Behind mandates that children in private school have access to public school services.

Regardless, I don't see why taking your children to see an ophthalmologist is worthy of criticism.

KT makes it sound like there is an episode playing in that house all the time. I wonder if all people on TV do that - watch the episodes over and over. What is she trying to do now, get a show entitled "My Adorable Kids Say the Cutest Things." I watched all episodes up to the end when they put Jon on the couch when he may have had a few too many, but somehow missed the part where he was mean and bitter to the kids.

The man fought for his family and lost to a huge corporation who were dead set with the cooperation of his ex-wife on exploiting his children through college (and she is still at it). Anyone would be bitter. He has the ex wife from hell. Give the man a break. KT should be ashamed of herself for allowing people to talk badly about the father of her children but has clearly shown there is no shame in her game. That is all water under bridge.

Don't remember exactly how much the b earbuds were, but more then you paid! They are the newer design and designed for iPhones--gives remote control of volume,  forward, back and pause functions and a microphone so that if I get a call, I can answer without having to pull out headphones. I live near a lake that has a very busy paved 2.8 mile path, which I walk every day, with my 2 beloved dogs. Constantly fiddling around with earbuds falling out and lowering the volume is a pain. Seattle is pretty reserved---unless you have a dog!! Plus, there are always neighbors, so, rarely do I get an uninterrupted walk.

Of course, if Kate showed up, their would be pandemonium and panic in the streets! It is so weird that even mentioning the most mediocre things that normal people do, would be abnormal for her. Anyway, there is a wading pool, tennis courts, community center, lawn bowling, lawn darts, horseshoes, picnic areas, boat rentals, competitive rowing teams, a small theater that has children's productions (with an all-child cast) every summer, 2 beaches, a dog park and playground equipment at this park--kids have a blast. And, it is a great people-watching place for all ages.  Not uncommon to see a tightrope practice strung between trees, hear a free impromptu concert, watch the ducks mating season and see all the babies in the spring and see the turtles that sun themselves on a sunken log. Dogs are huge in Seattle--2 for every child. Many breeds have a parade around the park as an annual event.. (I am talking to you PJs Momma!) I am getting so sad now, thinking about the Gosselin orphans..really, thank God that they have Jon in their life, who seems to have left all of her ridiculousness behind.

Ticker's mom-You nailed this one!

I remember when I went thru my divorce. I talked to my family, to my friends. I didn't talk to my kids about what I felt were their father's failings. And I certainly didn't talk to strangers! Nor did I go on national media and do the same. My ex, who like Kate, has no friends, did talk to the kids. And they've come to me as they've become adults and said that they really wished he hadn't of done that. None of them have much of a relationship with their dad at this point because of that.

Kate has no one else TO talk to. Does she ever mention meeting "so and so for a ladies lunch" or how she was "just talking to so and so the other day". N.E.V.E.R. E.V.E.R.

Which leads me to conclude that she HAS probably said inappropriate things to the children about their father. She is 'working'. 'Working' her damndest to alienate her children.

Kate? Meet your new best friend. Her name is "KARMA".

An annual physical, with a detailed form filled out by the physician, was required before children were allowed to attend class.

Frankly, I'm surprised that Kate takes them to an ophthalmologist, even though it's medically indicated. I can't think of one single other instance where she's bothered to do something that is just for them, much less one that cost her money.

There *were* a 2-3 episodes there toward the end when Jon was a little testy with the kids, not his usual happy dad self.

I would think that would be understandable considering the circumstances. He must have been under considerable pressure at the time, knowing he was going to lose his family to TLC's big guns and his own wife collaborating against him.

And he wasn't bad-mouthing anyone to the kids. Like his ex-wife has done non-stop since before the divorce.

Good grief Kate, he was a little testy, not a screaming banshee, and it wasn't EVERY episode.

You know what, Kate can "try" all she wants to keep the kids off the internet, but the reality it is that is going to be an impossible job. It just is.

I imagine if it ever boiled to a point the kids would out right ask her why, what does she need to protect them from and all there other little friends can go check things out?

This could invite her kids to go visit friends, school access maybe and so on. It will happen one day, try as she might.

I just don't think that Kate wants to be responsible for her actions, her words or her attitude which really is a sad thing. Didn't her parents ever teach her to be responsible for herself and her actions? My guess is no. I don't foresee her fessing up to her wrong doings any time soon.

The shorter that you hold that leash, the harder one will try to get free from it.

What will it be? "Oh, you're too special to go on the internet, people will be mean to you because we were on TV." So...what? She's going to keep these kids in a box the rest of their lives? Good luck with that.

Like to know what she'll say the kids will all be 18 one day and she won't be able to stand over there shoulder dictating what they can and can't read, what they can and can't think about what is written before them. It will be for them to decide not her.

THe DO do retakes. Any person can realize that.

I actually get a kick out of watching Teen Moms because the retakes are so obvious. The girls change their hairstyles so often that for retakes you can see them in ridiculous wigs to try to look current.

ALSO, doe anyone remember Jon saying on the Q&A that he regretted growing the goatee becasue he could not shave it during that season to keep "consistancy" IF the camera just followed them and filmed in order his goatee would be a non issue. kate's sheeple ready are so simple minded that they do not understand that kate was on a scripted reality show. kate's image is a brand, and her "ideas" for a fun day were actually written and produced by others. 34,000 lbs of organic beef was recalled due to e-coli. He mentioned a lot of other things too but I missed some of it. Just because it says organic does not mean it is always better.

I noticed that some of the posts are talking about Kate going through grief. The popular model of the stages of grief are:
Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance

Maybe that could be the name of her one woman show!

I think she is somewhere in between the anger and bargaining stages--but, mostly, anger. Snapping at people who have innocently wandered onto her twitter page, asking reasonable questions puts her over the edge!

She clearly is in denial about her worth in the media world--I doubt that her narcism will ever allow her to see the truth--she is a legend in her own mind. While holding out hopes of a 'career', she has certainly had to bargain down her terms to unpaid (just to be seen), and low pay, (as compared to TLC), just to stay os a tiny blip on the radar.

I think that there is a part of her that knows it is over, but she just can't let go yet. Maybe she will have to drain all of her resources--I agree that kids' money is being spent on education and medical expenses. I feel so sorry for those kids because they are going to bear the brunt of her evil moods.

Wow. I'm really surprised to see all the defence of Dance Moms here. Where I sit, it's as exploitative as the Gosselins, Toddlers and Tiaras, or any of the other shows that throw kids out in the public eye.

Dee said... 107

Aeduko 106, I agree. Dance Moms is awful, exploitative, and sets the children up for unrealistic expectations in their future lives.

Is what's happening to those children as terrible as what Kate has done? Not by a long shot, but that still doesn't make it right.

Children should have the right to a private life, specifically because they have no ability to judge what losing that privacy can mean to them.

"Kids and I are thriving now" ?? Did they divorce Jon too? That sick twisted tyrannical bitch!

The ONLY love they will get from either parent is Jon's. No mother who truly loves her children would do what she's done to them.

Kate Gosselin ‏ @Kateplusmy8 Close
@MiloandJack lol... I remember that one. Was SO frustrated! Not kids fault tho :( but was a funny comment!

paige_kate8fan
@MiloandJack @kateplusmy8 lol it was cara that said they are kindergartners

Milo also suggested that Kate have someone "edit & produce" a funny-moments-from-K+8 "episode" for the fans. She must not be aware that Paige, Kate's "#1 fan," spends a great deal of her time doing exactly this, adding music, and posting her efforts all over Youtube. This is why Kate will never be able to make money that way.

**********************
It's fascinating that you can decry child exploitation when it comes to Kate Gosselin but defend Dance Moms. There are plenty of successful dance instructors out there who don't resort to Abby's methods and plenty of moms who won't allow their children to be bullied. Just because a child has talent does not mean that furthering that talent requires abusive tactics. And young children don't need to be sexualized to become good dancers.

Have any of Abby's former students earned scholarships to Ivy League schools, as you suggest will be in some of these girls' futures? There seems to be no mention of that in her bio and I'd think that would be something to brag about.

One new year's eve I took my daughter to the Space Needle and we enjoyed the fire works.I miss Seattle, but not the weather! Frankly, I consider it an extremely good thing that none of Kate's children display any sellable talent. Can you imagine?

Although Kate is so toxic, perhaps she would have managed to torpedo things even if she had a child prodigy. She's sure done a brilliant job of sabotaging her own chances at leveraging a career from her own 15 minutes.

Gift of grab said... 116

Re TLC and others using footage on YouTube, I honestly don't know, Alexa. There are literally thousands of J&K-related things on YT. I would say probably 85% of what I've seen came out of the TLC episodes, the rest from interviews, photographs, etc. People cut, paste, and doctor these snippets up in all kinds of ways. I am not sure how this works or if TLC even cares. Admin might know? If they do care, "#1 fan" has made herself a very obvious target.

Dee said... 117

You know the old saying "better to keep silent and look a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"?

Twitter is the worst thing Kate could have done. She digs herself deeper every day, continually building a record that reminds agents and anybody else who might have had a slim interest in her that she is pure poison.

Self discipline and maturity are great tools in life. Too bad Kate has neither.

I don't watch TLC anymore because of Kate + 8.

Anyway, sounds like Katie Irene does not like competition. Her reality show was the bestest one ever.

Why should she give her precious time to that lowly dance mom anyway? What's the benefit to Katie Irene?

Unless that dance mom has some connections in t.v., or is going on the Crazy Kate Cruise,
Kate has no use for her.

As far as I'm concerned, I've HAD IT to here with TLC. They can stick their programs where the sun doesn't shine.

I always thought BigFan had run into Kate (deliberately or by accident) and gotten the cold shoulder or a rude reply. This tweet BigFan made to Melissa (of Dance Moms) seems to indicate that run-in may have been at Target. Also, the way BigFan says "showed up at" makes it seems as if the "run-in" was deliberate... However innocent, that would be a form of stalking, right?

The thing I get from "Dance Moms" is that you can clearly see the girls WANT to do this and WANT to have a platform to showcase their talent. They aren't being forced. There are no potty training scenes, turds being pulled out of butts in the back of vans, vomit, or things that should be flat out private. As far as the kids go, they are filming talent and what it takes to be the best.

Now the moms, on the other hand, the adults...they go overboard. But the show is really about the moms and their quirks. The kids are just the supporting characters.

Brooke was allowed to leave and go do cheerleading, but obviously missed the show and dancing too much and chose to come back. The Gosselin kids never had a choice. They could never leave. They didn't have that option.

Yes, Abby is a bitch and is rude and people say adults shouldn't yell like that at children. But I had MANY MANY teachers in my life who were just like Abby. There are teachers (co-workers) at my school who are just like Abby. Doesn't make it right, but in this life you will be subjected to mean people. Yet the girls still choose to dance at her studio. And I do believe a LOT of the drama is played up for the camera and the girls understand that.

Now Kate. She's just a total bitch, cameras or no cameras. Her kids were stuck with the lunatic 24/7. It wasn't just a teacher being tough with them for a couple hours, it was their own mother. Someone they had no option of getting away from. At least the Dance Mom "moms" treat their kids kindly and show them love. The Gosselin kids didn't/don't have that.

The Duggars (all of them, apparently) are going to Space Camp (the same trip that Kate wanted to take that didn’t work out).

There is what TLC calls Aftershow footage –“after the cameras were off” with 11 clips (17 + minutes worth) of KatePlus8. (Did not watch).

Most interestingly, at the TLC store, when you click on KatePlus8, the only things available for purchase are 2 books about Australia that have nothing to do with the Gosselins.

I hate kate's tweets about Jon. Jon was never HORRID to the kids. WTF is up with these sheep? Are they so desperate for a tweet back that they will stoop to this? kate is a bitch for replying to that. KATE SUCKS AS A HUMAN BEING!

KATE is the one who constantly took her anger out on her kids. (Are you a Gosselin or a Palin?) She was a bitter shrew and there is no way the believe the kids are BETTER NOW that Jon does not live with them. If I remember correctly it was JON who picked Joel up off the laundry room floor. It was JON who went on all the boys day out trips (remember poor Colin standing there trying to get kate to acknowledge his leaving by asking "Will you miss me?" "I will miss you.") kate was too busy hugging and rolling on the floor her precious Hannah to even say a proper goodbye to Colin. He looked so dejected and sad. As I recall, it was JON who helped Colin with his impacted bowel. It was JON who tenderly hugged his children. It was JON who played with the kids while kate bellowed and called him the 9th child. It was JON who carved the pumpkins. And it was JON who played with the kids with their play-doh OUTSIDE since they couldn't bring it inside. It was JON who tried to make the decorating cupcakes FUN while kate sat there and bitched about their clothes getting dirty. And less we forget Disney (She;s Runined!!! comment while Jon was trying to tell kate to chill out - Ms Organized had no extra clothes or wet wipes)

F U KATE. YOU WERE THE ONE WHO TOOK OUT YOUR EVERY EMOTION ON THE KIDS. YOU ARE A MISERABLE PERSON.

This bitch is in a fantasy land if she thinks she is the mild tempered, stress free, loving , adoring mom she claims to be. She barks at the kids and only values the things they do that bring KATE recognition. She is becoming more vile than ever and I wish the people would wake the hell up and stop adoring this nitwit.

What a creepy house..they all sit around living their glory days of being on a reality show of "made memories." Try moving forward! Looking back occassionaly is fine. Living in the past is unhealthy

I can honestly say I dislike kate more than ever now that I see the rude tweets she sends. She is so undeserving of what she has been given and I am ready for it to stop for good. It's time for people to walk away from her. She offers nothing to anyone. kate needs to go away and stop tweeting about her greatness, her kids, and their HORRIBLE dad. I really think a judgeoneeds to insist she stop publicly trashing JOn. He has done nothing to deserve this treatment. Kate hates him because she feels he is the reason they cannot get a new show. She knows he won't sign off on another contract. The part she forgets is that her kids are older now and aside from the few sheep, no one wants to see a gaggle of 7 and 11 year olds on tv. People wanted to see babies who say "unnderwears" and "frow up." It's over kate. You kids are no longer reality star material at this age (THANK GOD)

I guess throw me in the Hater category. I hate her behavior. I truly do. And I really do hope that the ONLY platform she will ever be given again to get her vile words out is twitter (as much as I want that gone I know it;s not possible, so let her rot in tweeter hell). I hope no one ever pays her again to spew her hatred, jealousy and woe is me bullcrap. I'm ready for her to get a huge karma kick in the butt. THAT is the one thing she DOES deserves it.

I have never seen another "celeb" speak the way she does on twitter and I hope social media is her final downfall. Couldn't happen to a better person.

Guess there are lot of different opinions concerning what 'exploitation' is...it's interesting to me, that moms that aren't seen as narcissists are given a pass concerning these reality shows...
case in point, the duggars ( now tell me, how is watching Anna spit out the first grandchild tv worthy? this show exploits their kids just as much as Kate did, but Michelle is just so sweeetttt.
I don't know much about the toddlers and tiara show, but I've seen enough commercials to know most of those parents need counseling or their tubes tied.
I've seen a few blurbs of dance moms while cruising through the living room or some commercials, and it seems to be quite toxic.

Whoa! Back up. You put words in my mouth. I never said they "want to take verbal abuse in exchange for dance lessons". Where did I say that?

I said they want to have a platform to showcase their talent and choose to be on the show. They have a choice. I'm sure they would choose not to be verbally abused if it were up to them, but they seem to know and understand that Abby goes overboard for the cameras and ratings.

The little girl who is 6-7 ( Mackenzie), Abby doesn't yell at her like she does the others. I'm sure she will when she gets older, though.

And I never said that it's no big deal that adults verbally abuse kids. In fact, if you go back and reread, I said it does not make it right. Where did you get that I was "blowing it off"???

My point that you missed was that the difference between Dance Moms and Kate Plus 8 is the Dance Moms kids have a choice to be there and are not exploited in the sense that the Gosselin kids were. They are showcasing their talent, not their personal life and bathroom habits. The Gosselin kids had no choice and were horribly exploited with footage that should be private for everyone.

You seem upset that people have an opinion that differs from yours.

I would never allow my child to be treated that way by a dance instructor, but I'm also certain if the kids and their moms were being harmed by Abby, they would leave. They have the choice to leave. Mady, Cara, Alexis, Collin, Leah, Hannah, Aiden, and Joel had no choice and had NO ONE to defend them from the meanie because the meanie was their mother.

143 Kate makes no sense. EVER.
Love how she is now making her Staycation something she is taking praise for. Umm..didn;t she say Spring Break snuck up on her and she forgot to plan something. According to her the Staycation was not intentional. Just kate was so busy she forget. Much like how she passed off ditching Halloween as a $ saving idea to get candy half off.

Anyone with eyes knows kate would be on VACATION in a heartbeat if given the chance. And..if we are to believe kate..the kids have been begging for a trip so how did she "forget" about Spring Break and their tradition of going to Bald Head Island or wherever? Why is it that kate REFUSESto spend money on her children? kate wouldn't have any money if it werent for the kids giving up their privacy for her. Is this how they are paid back? With ill fitting clothes while kate is in designer clothes? Budget bean dinners while kate eats a $20 salad? Being stuck at home with a nanny while kate travels around and then comes home to brag to them about what she did? Damn...spend some money on the 8 once in a while instead of yourself. Why is Leah not in gynmastics yet kate has a pair of ridiculous bolt on boobs? And why does no fan ask THESE questions instead of trashing Jon. Sheeple are creepy people . Mu opinion of course. People who go thru life not questioning the obvious are the ones who fall for Nigerian scams.

Maybe it's PMS but darn that tweet really brought kate in my eyes to the point of no return. There is so salvaging her. She has done this too long and has taken her crap too far. I wish dateline woould expose her for the true person she is. wait..scratch that. I hope to never hear her name in the media again. And I cannot wait for the international sheep to see KATE PLUS 8. wait til they see her behavior once she decided she was a famous star. She will lose fans (not sheeple of course, just the general fans who think she is someone she is not) once they put one and one together regarding her bitchy tweets and her bitchy behavior on the show.

RE Dance Moms. These kid are working..BUT they would be working without the show. The are working on their future as professional dancers. People may not agree that kids do not need to train so hard, but if they are to succeed it is what is needed. With or without the show, these girls would be at Abbey Lee studio busting their butts perfecting their skills. I cannot see them as the same as Kateplus8. Applse and oranges. Yes, it is kids on tv..but the similarities stop there. I have never seen those girls naked, nor have I seen them going to the bathroom. . I see these girls as actors more than reality stars in a way. Someone nailed it when they said the studio was the film set where on K+8 the "stuidio" was the family home.

Also, DMs is not "the family job" The kids being on it does not make or break their families financial situation. The girls on the show are not the family breadwinners. They didn't sign up for this show to support their familes. The were dancing before DM's aired and will be dancing if they choose to after it's cancelled. k8 on the otherhand is weeping on tv that she can't support her kids without a show. kate's children are doing NONE of the things now they did on the show. K+8 set unrealistic expectations for the Gosselin's and gave them a warped home life. I don't see the DM girls living in this same altered reality. DM's is a show about dancing and the situations that occur during a competetive sport. K+8 WAS A FREEBIE GRAB AND NOTHING MORE. That show had ZERO to offer. It wasnt a documentary. It didn't give a glimpse of the struggles to raise 8 kid, it didn't teach us anything except to learn that TLC was kate's genie in a bottle. Before that, kate used God as her genie. HE was tossed aside when TLC filled the role. Yes, even God didn't know how to help her as well as TLC did so he too was cast away from kate's life.

Why is Jon solely responsible for the collapse of the marriage, the behavior of the kids, no new reality TV show.

Why is Jon bashed for the way he behaved then and none of his good is noted?

Why does Kate get a pass for her responsibility for her failed marriage, her behavior towards her kids and her lack of a job?

Believe you me that if Jon was the one who was sitting at home unemployed there would massive outcry at what a dead beat he is or how lazy he was. Instead it's, oh poor Kate working would just be too hard for her.

I see no reason to give Kate continued passes. Life isn't about skipping through a field of flowers, it's about doing what needs to be done and being rewarded for just that.

Why does Kate get this pass for discussing her children of Twitter when Jon was slammed for mentioning them at one time after the fact?

There has to be something wrong with a woman her age who still needs her hand held and stroked and told she's doing good when it's obvious she isn't something wrong with a woman who is that unhappy because she isn't on TV.

Like an addict who says, "I don't have a problem, you're the one with the problem." You might, gee, want to take a step back and look at the fact that almost everyone around you is telling you that you need help or need to change. Would make bells go off I think.

I wonder if the kids now at ages 7 1/2 and over 11, can SEE how their mother behaved on TV when they were little. It seems that's about all they get to watch apart from Little Angels... I mean, they see her everyday, but it must be torture to relive some of that stuff and also it must make them miss Jon (or does K fastforward over him?) Do they see the insults and slaps? Do they see how badly she treated the little boys? Do they recognize she spoiled their fun-even at the time Mady said the little kids weer just having fun rolling down the grass on the hill at the ice cream place. Do they feel embarrassed at the shower/potty/accident/tantrum scenes? Do they think Kate rude, unreasonable, dismissive?

I wonder...

@jpower238 no parent should punish innocent kids for the way things turned out. Extra love is needed...kids/I r thriving now so all is good! about 5 hours ago
_____________________________________________

This statement borders on libel. Kate has no evidence that Jon 'punished' the kids during the divorce at all. If she did, Jon would not be enjoying the liberal visitation he now has. That was an inflammitory and deliberate choice of words. For the love of God, I have no idea why this is not nipped in the bud. Bitch is worried about what the girls might read on the net about Jon? She's responsible for most of it!!

Hey Kate, when two children in your primary custody get EXPELLED from Kindergarten- even after they each had a full time monitor: there's your sign. When six babies are screaming and sobbing for their Daddy upon being returned to your custody- there's your other sign. When on an outing NONE of your kids want to sit by you because you're a nitpicking witch who sucks the joy out of everything- there's your 3rd sign. The other 272 are too lengthy to list here.

Between the twitter "episodes" she's creating and rehashing of old shows, I'm convinced she's certifiably insane. And I'm more convinced than ever she is twatting this crap to herself under fake names. She's trying to create the illusion that people are clamoring for them to be on TV again, in hopes of catching a network's attention.

... kids/I r thriving now so all is good! about 5 hours ago If you are living in the past and denying your present and future, that is not thriving. It's pathetic and pitiful.

************************************
I have no idea but it is soooo frustrating. I posted about this before, why does Denise Richards get grilled on The View when she's publicly been outstanding as far as Charlie goes, but Kate Nobody from Podunk, PA gets her ass kissed?

I'm convinced that when Kate would go on these shows, clear limits were in place from her "people" about any questions challenging or criticizing Kate. On DWTS, she HAD to stand there and take the brutal (heh heh) criticisim. I don't know if you watched, but the looks on her face were of barely contained rage. I was waiting for her head to spin and for her to spew pea soup. Those judges on DWTS have been the only television personalities who have been able to honestly peg her for what she is: an uptight bitch whose arrogance prevented her from learning, taking direction and in the end, being successful on the show.

I hate that the kids see the couch interviews where kate makes fun of the kids, excuses her assholey behavior and disses of Jon. Is this really what they need to be watching? Seeing kate prance in heels, boob hanging out, seeing her screaming at everyone, rudely dismissing people trying to help, grifting for freebies, rolling her eyes, mimicing the kids etc? Also, does it make them sad to see their Daddy yelled at? DO they cry when they see all the sweet moments they shared. It's so sad. Hopefully if anything, they find comfort in seeing themselves be treated with love and having fun with Daddy.

And #155 - I too wonder if she tweets herself some of these insane tweets. Either that or there are some really stupid people on twitter. Well I guess the answer is both. hehe

What a fun Spring Break. The kids get to see what Mommy does all day long. What is that you ask? Well TWEET for hours straight of course. She is miserable being trapped in the house with kids and needs her twitter high to pump her ego. Since she doesn't have (m)any friends - this nut really uses the tweeties as her adult contact. When was the last time she tweeted "had lunch with a close friend?" Never happens unless it is Jason Hueman springing for Fig & Olive. kate is "above" the mediocre. She only wants to hang with celebs who can get her name out there. She must be insanely bored yet she refuses to do anything about it because she cannot stand not being treated as a celeb. See, normal friends would want to treat her as normal and kate cannot have that. Also, friends may want to share good news and we all know kate cant stand that either. She can't even muster up fake joy or interest in anyone other than herself. She is bored if the conversation doesn't rotate around HER, what a great mom she is, how georgeous she is, questions about how she does itall, and clamoring to tell her how terrific and inspiration she is. NORMAL friends would want to SHARE stories, laugh and confide, crack jokes, and just have fun. No one likes to be around a bottomless pit who needs her ego topped off every minute and a half.
Can you imagine lunch with kate? She would spend the whole time showing her friend the accolades she is getting on Twitter. "Look I gotta retweet this! It says I'm a better parent than Jon!" YEA

*********************************************
There's always a potential problem if you're using copyrighted material especially if you're using it to make money. My point was that Kate probably can't use any of it to produce her own DVD to make money for herself because she does not own the footage. She's got the same DVDs that the rest of sheepdom have and that's what she watches.

As someone mentioned upthread her tweets are begining to have the desperate Baby Jane Hudson feel. I really do think that these are empty accounts that she has purchased and she's tweeting herself so that she can "answer" or "re-tweet" and pat herself on the back gor being so great. It is just such a coincidence that she and the kids just happen to be watching or have recently watched the episode that the "fan" is tweeting about. All these tweets allow her to relive her glory days as TLC's darling. Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I don't see them being to show off their talents though, because Kate wouldn't let them. She can't allow her children to upstage her. If they were to have a 'talent' in Kate's world it would probably have to be one Kate assigned to them.

Mady can be an actress/pop star
Cara can, um, like, play a sport. She can do that thing in the snow with the fast thing. Her dad can pay for it because he likes it.

----------------
I had the pleasure of being a child model and was in a few commercials (all before the age of 5, nothing after) and I don't think that is anywhere near what Kate has done. There are very specific laws that are followed to the letter. A baby in a tv show or film is often either a twin or triplet. There are no adverse affects and so long as the parent isn't greedy it's a nice way to build up a little savings.

Now once the kids reach a certain age it gets more complicated. And if they are using a parent as their manager then it's even worse.

Why does Kate complain about her son needing glasses? I don't care if she uses the special oxygen used for preemies as to why her son needs them.

I mean, Jon wears contacts because in an episode something happened and he had to wear his glasses for a while until he could get contacts.

I took a look around and voila, Kate Gosselin wearing---glasses.

http://yoplayhouse.blogspot.com/2010/03/kate-gosselin-was-nerd-city-in-high.html

http://www.popcrunch.com/kate-gosselin-childhood-photos/

Now, what's her deal again? Her child is not perfect? Is this her reason? That because she wore glasses she wasn't perfect?

Fact is that more often than not if one or both parents wears glasses, chances are their child will need glasses when they are young or later in childhood at some point.

So, now I realize that Kate wears contact lenses, surely she must and I assume without fail she will put her son in them when he gets older to appear more perfect?

Just her logic drives me nuts sometimes.

But, even those babies, being twins or triplets, still have to be on set. I have twins, but I never thought of them as money makers.

Yes, you said that it wasn't right, but followed that by noting that many adults treat children that way and that's part of life in the mean world. That, IMO, is trivializing the issue.

+++++++++

Schizo is normal for her. I remember some time ago that bigfan took a day off and drove to a grocery store in Reading in hopes of running into Kate. This was during the time that she was obsessed with her, asking her what to do when she couldn't get into the bathroom to pee, telling her that the poop wouldn't come out, whining about cramps during her period, and tweeting her from her car during a storm because she didn't know what to do -- could she get electrocuted. She said went to Reading to get groceries (over an hour away), so it's possible that she stalked her and ran into her at Target. She was doing all kinds of crazy tweeting about whether Kate would say hello to a fan.

I'm amused by bigfan's tweets. You never know what you're going to get. She's clearly off her rocker, especially now that she turned on Kate. What's funny is her repeating the same thing over and over again, and nobody pays any attention to her. Someone on Twitter said that it sounds like her tweets have Tourette's. She's a strange one, and while I initially thought she was harmless, now I'm not so sure. I do wish, though, that she knew where she lives. She keeps saying she's in central Pennsylvania, but she lives in Hershey, which is in southeastern PA. I guess she needs Kate's help reading a map.

Exactly. No going home to their private life and real parents for reality tv kids. And they are permanently "typecast" because they aren't acting as a fictional character. Worse yet, they are turned into characters so that they fit the storyline. Year, real realistic ::eye roll::

Btw, all of my earnings went to my bank account and into a trust. I was lucky enough that my parents didn't need to use the money to raise me so it was all there for me. The little amount that it was lol. We're not exactly talking Olsen twins cash. Then again, I wonder if the Olsen twins would trade their billions for a childhood not spent acting?

With regards to Aaden's glasses--well, Jon and Kate both wore glasses, so chances are a lot more of the kids are going to need them. I understand why she has to take them to the ophthalmologist--one of my kids was very premature, too, and his optic nerve is enlarged. He has go each year to be monitored for glaucoma. Expensive, but necessary. He is 12, and just now had to get glasses. Between the enlarged optic nerves and both parents having vision problems, she's going to have several kids in glasses in a few years. There will also be several in braces at the same time, and then they'll start getting pimples. Oh, no, her kids won't be "perfect" any longer! At least, not to her.
In other news. it would seem that her 10-day "staycation" is driving her nuts. She's clinging to her Twitter lifeline to help her get through it. Won't it be fun to see how she survives their summer break? 10+ WEEKS to get through, and no TLC to take the burden off her shoulders and send them on multiple vacations. I have several thoughts on girls and cheerleading, or anything else that makes a grown man ogle them...
I am older than most of you, and I also have all girls.
I have watched men stare, fix the itch in their crotch from watching girls on sidelines strut around in short skirts.
When my kids got that age, I decided FOR THEM, that they would NOT participate in anything that made them look like we were marketing meat. All my girls are athletes, have been or are state champions in tennis, as well as USTA champs in multiple ages...
My idea was, instead of letting them look like eye candy, I would rather them gather their own merits as athletes. And yes, I do see that SOME cheer squads are athletes, some of the moves they make are just incredible to watch, but most friday night cheerleaders are just that...yelling for someone else's victory, someone else's award..I want, and wanted, my girls to have their OWN medals, awards, recognition.
I know probably some moms here have cheerleader daughters, but before my kids hit that age I saw too many men oogling young girls and it completely creeped me out.
I also know men, and they would probably leer at a fence post if they were desperate enough, but I just didn't want my girls out there on the sidelines to be enticing and nice eye candy. I have more respect for women than that.

I'm the daughter of a professional ballet dancer who was a child "prodigy" and I grew up around dance studios. I am fully aware of "what it takes." What it does NOT take is a coach who is abusive toward children as this woman is. It also does not take looking like a small prostitute to hone talent. Furthermore, children who are dancing to please their parents and not because they are self-motivated are not going to be successful nor happy over the long-term.

My problem is not with the "dance girls." It is with the dance coach and the mothers who allow their children to be treated horribly when there are other options available. Among those who agree with me? DWTS stars Derek Hough and Mark Ballas. Would you agree that they know what it takes to make it as professional dancers? And yet, here is what they have to say:

Derek Hough: "I'm sorry, but this 'Dance Mom' show is straight up abusive. … Kids Run!!!!!!! It ain't right. Child abuse isn't right. I'm livid right now. … I believe in discipline and a strong work ethic. But there is nothing productive about screaming and making little girls cry over being on the wrong foot."

Mark Ballas:

"This teacher lady is crazy… completely wrong attitude toward the kids. It's embarrassing."

"She's not dancing, she's just yelling at them...I just don't think it's the correct way to teach somebody ... Those kids are 6 years old. They're learning. They're babies ... They need to be treated the correct way...Ballas adds, "Those kids should not be afraid to go to dance."

Maybe she would have been chosen to present the Emmys for reality shows. Instead, she is suffering from overexposure and proven that she is impossible to work with. The entire family should have been set for life, instead of investing in fake plastic surgery, nails in an attempt to become the oldest starlet on the planet!

Ditto! My daufgter was in soccer and track and she herself does not have a high opinion of cheer, no offense- they are skilled in tumbling etc but yes, they are cheering for the guys, even have to give them gifts and make encouraging signs for their front doors and lockers, bake them treat at her school and really demean their own worth- IMO

Yes, there's a fun activity, playing school while on vacation from school, every kids idea of a great time. Kate is probably encouraging this pastime with the hope they will remember where she likes them best, at SCHOOL. OMG, there really is no end to her, is there?

Just read her latest. Wanna know what's really sad? It probably took her the entire 6 or 7 hours she was absent from Twitter to write it. Usual complement of grammatical errors, no surprises there. And too many !!! as well. But to spend almost an entire day on THAT? What a waste.

Admin, you don't need to worry about Kate being able to out-blog you any time soon. If she weren't such a heinous human being, I might feel sorry for her, having such grand "authorial" aspirations and zero talent.
