Today's events include a Memorial Day BBQ- will there be guests? Sure to 'exhaust' Kate. Menu is included, very original, hotdogs etc.
...and also making gifts for teachers/ Many schools don't allow this as some children do not have the means to do so. I went to a yard sale once and there were all these unopened picture frames, knick-knacks etc and the lady said she was a teacher and received more of these than she could use...if Krafty Kate is making them with the kids, I don't have high hopes either.
Why does she crowd too much for herself into these weekends? They could have made the gifts another time. To appear supermom? Will there be pictures of the party, BBQ, and gifts? I'm surprised there haven't been photos of the party unless I missed them, just the toe snapping vid.Too many tweets to follow.
Amy2, thank you for the sacrifices you have made for our country.
God bless you.
Happy Memorial Day.
To all that have served, or have a family member (or friend) that has served- or is currently serving:
I am eternally grateful to you, the men & women & even the service dogs that have given their lives for my freedom. I am grateful to your families as well.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Love, Pink
On a personal note- as a child of Cuban born parents, I am especially aware of the importance of freedom, and to never take it for granted.
Occasionally, my father likes to recount his life story. When he gets to the part when he arrived to this country, his straightens his frail body (in salute to this country), and said, "when I arrived in America, the first thing I saw was the American flag. I left an oppressive country, to come to the land of the free, and the home of the brave", and to this day, he blesses this country for the opportunities he was given.
To my dad, the American flag is the most beautiful flag in the whole wide world.
Kate brags about everything she thinks she has that keeps her up "with the Jones." She covets what she has seen her former friends have, especially Beth. Now, Kate has the big country house, pool, sports car, spa days, etc. that she saw Beth have. Jealousy, thy name is Kate. Considering that the Carson family downsized, it's kind of comical to watch Kate try to keep up.
Pink, 194...thank you for that Memorial Day post. I would like to give your dad a hug. My dad fought in WW2. Our flag is flying high in a gentle breeze today. Your post made me look at it with a moment of complete appreciation..
Ooooh, so many of your posts about Memorial Day have also given me chills. The different experiences and perspectives of posters here are awe-inspiring.
I had relatives who were veterans as well as out dear neighbor, a WW2 vet. He gave my son when he was a little boy his war medals- not his own sons. That was the greatest gift my son ever received, and even as a child he felt incredibly honored, and respected and cherished our dear friend. They used to talk about his war experiences- shot down and POW, as well as many other things. He was one of the dearest friends we will ever make. My children do not have a grandfather, but found one across the street. RIP KF. And thank you to so many others, both departed and living.
And although we were not born American, we too have a beautiful US flag waving in the warm morning breeze this Memorial Day, 2012.
Funny how she's too tired for church but is tweeting up a storm. Our dog had a seizure second night in a row, 4 am this time, was completely agitated and refused to stop whining/pacing, and guess what? We are going to church, running on fumes.

God bless KF's soul.
You are fortunate that he was your neighbor, and friend. I'm sure you, and your family will carry his memory, and lessons forward.
Chef, 200 ... I do not think that Kate could give you and answer that would make sense. She might say, "Because I am MEEE and I got thinner and blonder and more beautiful. Fans are begging to see MEEE and the kids who got older and bigger."
You are trying to find purpose and reason in from a person who has neither.
But, it would be a really good question to ask her.
My father served in Vietnam. In fact that's where he was when I was born. He passed away in his 40s from a cancer that has been linked to service in Vietnam due to Agent Orange. Although he's not on the wall I still think of him as a casualty of the "conflict". Just as I think of all the young men who have committed suicide after their recent service. God bless them all.
I think the reason the pool is being mentioned all the time now is to excuse the fact that these kids will not be having an off-compound vacation (or even local day-camp-like activities) this summer. She's going to be all "Well, we have everything we need to have FUN right HERE, and besides, all the houses at BHI/OBX were rented, and I really couldn't go out of town with 8 kids on my own, and oh yeah, NOBODY ELSE HAS OFFERED TO PAY FOR IT." Not to mention, Momma's got at least one (and likely more) out-of-town "gigs" (runs) for herself, so what does she care if the kids are confined to the stalag? The cost of the nannies for her absence(s) plus the cost of her and Steve's first-class EVERYTHING would surely cover a week at a shore house. But Kate has her priorities, of course, and what she is doing, in HER head, is putting herself out there to find a job "FOR MY KIDS."
Just popping in here to say Happy Memorial Day to y'all. I love the special posts honoring our service men and women. I'll add one here. My father was a (disabled) WWII Navy vet. he instilled in me a deep pride of my country and of our flag. Every holiday I would help him hang our flag in the morning and take it down and reverently fold it in the evening. We had neighbors who emigrated to this country from Eastern Europe after WWII. Every holiday, they would come out on their porch and stand at attention while my dad and I took down our flag. One day I asked my dad about this and he said that our neighbors were one of the reasons we fought that war. They were devout Catholics who spent nearly 3 years in a concentration camp for hiding Jews. I've never felt so proud of my dad or of my 2 uncles, who were also WWII Navy vets. God bless all of you who served, are serving, or are supporting and loving an active service member or vet. And, as Pink reminds us, God bless the military service animals too.
Just have to comment here on the "Hannah" quote. I have visions of her walking down the hall as a high school freshman and hearing some upper class bully shouting that after her. Poor kid will never live that particular incident down.
Funny (NOT), how the twins were responsible for carrying out the younger kids' birthday party, but KK can't stir herself to provide a party for the twins on their birthday.
Localyocul I know how you feel. I have buried 2 brothers, US Marines, both volunteered during Vietnam time, both wounded badly but went to work, we never knew about all of their injuries, but yes, they were subjected to the dropping of the Agent Orange. Also the Air Force and US Army came in contact with AGent AGent. It is now acknowledged finally as a disabling factor for veterans.
Both of my brothers suffered terribley as their organs were deteriorating from the Agent Orange. One died at age 44 and the other brother died at 52. Both, we didn't find out until they passed away, were highly decorated. They are my hero'.....and always will be. One is buried at Arlington as this was his wish, the other is buried with my parents.
Days like this if we do not thank the powers that be for our freedoms that the military volunteer to protect we have rocks in our heads and that would be people like Kate Gosselin.
So many of my brother's friends live in her area, all are treated at the veterans hospital, not that far from her. They don't have pools, they would welcome being invited to a day at the Gosselin pool, eating a hamburger or hot dog that Kate Gosselin could prepare for some of these vets who now can no longer work and rely on the goodness of other veterans. Some have lost their families due to their PTSD, others have families but they don't spend on themselves but raising their children.
So Kate, since you do nothing but tweet, why the heck don't you invite the veterans to your home to swim? Do something for the veterans. Lord, do something for someone beside begging for yourself. Use your twitter power to get your sheeple to open their homes to the military and their families. All these young people overseas, young spouses with children at home. You are surrounded by these people like we all are.
Kate you won't read this post as it is one of those "always telling me to give when I want more myself" well you will never be graced with anything else in this world because you do not ever give.
Greed and worrying about gifts for the teachers? Hey just go down to your warehouse in the basement of that Mansion you live in and "re gift" something to the teachers. Or just autograph a photo of yourself along with one of your books. lol lol lol lol..........not too much to think of.
Kate is sure tweeting a lot this weekend and I think it’s so she can show everyone how much she has done: birthday parties, massive cleanup efforts, crafts, homemade mommy pizza (huge hit!). She has to justify how exhaustish she is and how mommy needs her monthly vacation. She keeps saying she runs for her kids. Since they are out of school as of Wednesday, she should bring them to San Diego so they can see her run in person and give them a nice vacation. Sadly, it won’t happen. Vacations are now only for Kate and purseboy.
A thank you to all those you have served and currently serving in the military and their families.
I went to a yard sale once and there were all these unopened picture frames, knick-knacks etc and the lady said she was a teacher and received more of these than she could use..

While it's thoughtful to make gifts for teachers, what are they going to do with them? Kate should think about this. After all, she throws away homemade gifts. Yes, teachers appreciate the sediment (sic) that goes with each child making something for the teacher, but these things accumulate very fast.
I found that what teachers really appreciate are gift certificates, perhaps to a spa, a ticket to a play at a local theater or movie, or the favorite -- a gift certificate for two to a local restaurant. They always use these...it's a nice evening out for the teacher and a spouse or friend. Of course it's not something that the child has put much thought into creatively and made with his/her own hands, but it is something that isn't going to be filed away in a box somewhere, only to eventually end up at a garage sale.
readerlady-regarding the Hannah "quote". It reminds me of how Gary Coleman's biggest beef was when he was approached by anyone, they would always say "Watcha talkin about Willis", which was one of his character Arnold's classic lines from Different Strokes. He used to say how annoying it was that that was what he was remembered for.
Unfortunately, I fear that Hannah is going to be treated the same way.
The child could decorate the envelope that the gift certificate is in if it means so much to have the child's actual input. Or make a card to go with the gift certificate.
A gift card is a good idea. something everyone can use. Maybe a homemade card,if the child wants to make something, and we know what awesome cards the G kids can produce- a veritable gallery for their teachers!

Yes! Amen to that! My daughter gave her teacher a gift certificate to a play several years ago. I see the teacher occasionally, and she told me that out of all the gifts she received, she always remembers that one because it was such a good musical, and every time she thinks about it she remembers that it was because of my daughter that she got to see it.
Kate doesn't think about things like that. She always has to make everything complicated...off to buy supplies to make gifts. The reason? Probably to show herself as a Supermom, then brag about it, and then claim exhaustion.
I wish a blessed Memorial Day to you all here at 15 Minutes. Thanks for sharing your stories and memories. "Greater love has no man than this that a man lay down his life for a friend."
Hubby, daughter and I cleaned our basement today. We attacked it with a vengeance! Nah. Not really. We just cleaned it up. There was no arguing, yelling, or bad attitudes. And I'm NOT exhausted. I must be in better health/shape than Kate. It's amazing how much stuff accumulates in that basement! We've got a big load for Goodwill.
Happy Memorial Day to all! Also, a sincere thank you to all of our service men and women who risked their lives, and gave their lives, for America. We have all been blessed by their selfless acts of courage.
I've read the many wonderful comments posted about Memorial Day, thank you all. I agree that it's so important to remember why we celebrate this day and explain to our children. My boys just left a couple hours ago. When they arrived on Friday, I had American flags in our flowerbeds and stickees ribbons and flags in our windows. My grandsons asked what they were for and we explained Memorial Day to them. They had questions about it and we answered them the best we could so they would understand it. When our neighbor's little girl came over to play with the boys, she asked about the decorations and the boys told her about them, in their own sweet kid way.
May you all be blessed with a wonderful and safe Memorial Day.

So many teachers are now providing supplies for their classrooms, it is really nice to be given something that will allow them to treat themselves now and then.
When she completed her student teaching, the teacher gave her a tote bag decorated with all of the kids' handprints in paint. The bag was filled with cards, thank yous and words of encouragement and gift cards. She cherishes that tote bag and it was a wonderful memory of her student teaching.
Kate took the twins out west for their birthday last year. If taking them on a trip for their birthday turns out to be their new birthday tradition, what about the sextuplets? I don't think she'd do that for six kids at once, even when they're older.
It's hot and steamy here today. I have a feeling most of my activities are going to be indoors, in the AC, since I don't have a "mine, all mine" pool to luxuriate in.
As a former teacher, and a current classroom volunteer, I can state that the gifts I most appreciated were for the classroom -- crayons, paint, a package of construction paper, simple puzzles, drawing paper, cut-out decorations for various holidays, pencils, books for the classroom bookcase (or a gift card for the local bookstore). Of course, I taught at a mediocre public school and currently volunteer at a Parochial school where more than half our students are on scholarship. These things may not be needed nor important at a pricey, exclusive private school.
Happy Memorial Day to all, as we pause to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice made by many.
If you can, you should watch Taking Chance, a true story about one soldier's final journey home, on HBO. It is incredible. I had seen it, but it was on again last night and we were both blubbering like babies. My husband served 9 years in the Air Force and jokes that he flew a desk. A Korean vet in the movie says to an officer who lamented that he wasn't in combat, "DO you think you need to justify that, wanting to be with your family?" I reminded him of the same thing. Not everyone serves during war, not everyone during war goes to combat, but they all do an important job.
Pink, hope Cocoa is on the mend. This one is fine, none the wiser after it happens, but no seizure last night, praise the Lord!
PJ's Momma...Taking Chance with Kevin Bacon is a simple, restrained masterpiece. I think Bacon's subdued performance causes the viewers knee jerk reaction of emotion. Thank you for reminding me of that movies. It is based on a true story. I did not know the procedure of transporting a body. That night that Bacon spends in the hanger just makes me cry.
The child could decorate the envelope that the gift certificate is in if it means so much to have the child's actual input. Or make a card to go with the gift certificate.

As a former teacher, and mother of teachers, I say amen to that thought. Without wanting to be ungrateful, a small gc is so appreciated these days, and all teachers have boxes of picture frames, mugs, etc. Classroom supplies are also nice. GC's for a spa treatment, coffee, nursery, movie night, etc., all nice thoughts, not expensive. But K8 can't even treat her kids.
Perhaps she should have planned ahead and ordered some items from Em Tanner LOL.
Dmasy, you are so right. My husband squeaked out, "That is some unbelievable acting." (Such as when he salutes and holds in a tear or sets his jaw when he sees Chance.) I said, "Maybe he's not acting. Chance was a real person and this is the story of so many people." I know Dover has made some mistakes lately, but the tenderness in which they treated those remains is so touching. That last procession on the highway with lights on just slays you dead. It is an amazing movie and I'm not sure why it never got more attention.
Kate doesn't think about things like that. She always has to make everything complicated...off to buy supplies to make gifts. The reason? Probably to show herself as a Supermom, then brag about it, and then claim exhaustion. ----------
Nah, I think you give Kate too much credit. I think she makes gifts cuz she's CHEAP. (remember she put boxes of homemade cookies on the trashcans (oooh, that's what an OCD person would do, oh yea) for the, as I guess she would call him , 'mr. trashman'? I think the dog got into them, as I recall.
I don't think there is anything wrong with the kids staying at the compound this summer. Heck, when they were dragged hither, thither and yon..they were WORKING. What's wrong with a nice, boring, lazy summer of relaxing by the pool? I'd like to know what Kate's little ol' half marathon is going to cost...Steve, flights, food, shopping, hotels, spas, etc...I could take my whole crew somewhere NICE for one or two weeks on what she's gonna drop over the weekend. Way to go, Kate. You say it's all about the kids, but your actions prove your mouth wrong. Your walk doesn't match your talk.
So, Kate finely had the tups other party. BIG WHOOP!
I see Kate is making bribe gifts for the teachers. I'm sure nobody else does. Kate tryin to be generous, what a laugh!
I've had to take a min-vacation, from the net. My new computer, crashed, had to get a new one(they exchanged, the bad one for a brand new one) I hate to say this did not miss Kate, missed this blog, but not Kate.
Pink, glad your dog is better.
Someone else is dog is sick hope your dog gets better too.
I see nothing new with Kate.
I also see that the articles recent of Kate are all saying Kate needs to get it in her head, that show biz does not want her.
You guys have such wonderful sentiments for Memorial Day, it truly warms the heart. I have to add that Amy Roloff sent out a very nice 'sediment' on her FB page. Kate REALLY needs to take a lesson!!!
Spa gift cards for teachers is a GREAT idea- I wish I had thought of that when my daughter was still in school.
I read a very interesting article about My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding on TLC and to the point, the show it so set up. I'll post it as soon as I find it again. Last night's episode was mostly staged - boy was I disappointed. It does gives you an insight into how TLC, and reality TV, works. I truly hope, beyond all hope, that Jon's book is a tell-all about the show. That would be far more interesting than his life with Kate, LOL!!
Have a great day every one. I hope all dogs, and animals, are feeling better and thank you to everyone who has served, or has a family member who has served- including police and first responders and volunteers for keeping our nation safe.
Is everyone else having HOT weather? My goodness...
Does anyone think the San Diego half marathon trip will be all paid for by a sponsor of some kind? At the LV marathon, didn't Kate do some interviews ahead of the race, etc and was billed as some kind of lame attraction or special guest? I just find it hard to believe that as cheap as Kate is, she would pay for a trip (even just for herself and Stevie) out to San Diego. That will not be cheap, unless they just stay a couple of nights and hightail it back to Pa, since it will be on her dime. Maybe that is the plan?
Taking Chance is such an important emotional understated movie. Kevin Bacon played his character with great restraint and let the story tell itself. The quiet respect from complete strangers shows the depth of appreciation others have for those who served.
40 years ago a member of my family was killed in Vietnam. Recently we attended a military ceremony where he was honored by those who served with him. One of the people personally made a shadow box to house his medals and flag. Before we left for the ceremony (flew cross country) we were informed there would be shell casings in the box. I contacted Homeland Security at the airport we would be checking in on our return to see if there was any problem with having the casings. There wasn't. TSA was respectful of the box and all TSA office personnel came to the security gate to ensure we had no trouble. On one leg of the trip home we gave the box to a flight attendant to put it in a closet as it did not fit in the overhead bin. Our family was very quiet about this as we did not want to draw attention. When it was time to disembark the plane all the flight attendants met us at the door of the cabin, handed the shadow box to us, quietly folded their hands and bowed their heads. Nothing was said. It is this quiet respect that I personally believe the airline personnel show to others in similar situations.
Thanks too, for the movie recommendation, I hadn't heard of it. I'll be buying it this week. I watched a few clips on youtube, started watching some clips concerning the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier,and wiped my eyes too many times to count. God Bless our military and their families! I had a few relatives at Pearl Harbor, and later Korea, and have a dear friend that served in Vietnam...he is now spending most of his time going back and forth to the VA hospital (agent orange effects). And now I have a Naval son-in-law...
I see Kate is making bribe gifts for the teachers. I'm sure nobody else does. Kate tryin to be generous, what a laugh!
+++++++++++
Why would they be bribe gifts? School is nearly over, and they all will have different teachers next year. She can bribe at the beginning of the next school year.
PJ's Momma -- IIRC, "Taking Chance" was originally intended to be a commercial release, but couldn't find a distributor, so it appeared on HBO instead. It did win a number of awards, including a couple for Kevin Bacon (Golden Globe and, I think, Emmy?). I agree, it's a moving, understated and beautiful movie. I've always liked Kevin Bacon, but considered him to be a rather lightweight actor, until I saw this film. He was so good and so moving. I don't know why he doesn't get offered more straight dramatic roles.
If you can, you should watch Taking Chance, a true story about one soldier's final journey home, on HBO. It is incredible. I had seen it, but it was on again last night and we were both blubbering like babies. ******** I watched it twice on Saturday and cried both times. Even DH (who is a veteran) "puddled up".
Today is my 60th BIRTHDAY hahaha!!! Such a privilege to share my special day with the national celebration and tribute to our selfless members of our armed forces. I thank GOD for these people.
My sweet daddy a WWII Navy Vet, died in Sept. We visited his grave for the first time this weekend (gut wrenching). He is buried in the military cemetery here, and the sight of thousands and thousands of headstones adorned with flags and flowers........simply overwhelming. God Bless the USA.
Here is the article about TLC's My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding- an interesting behind the scenes look ~~~~
The producer of My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding said the episode filmed in and around North Augusta’s Murphy Village was by far the most difficult, but also the show’s most “revelatory.” • “Murphy Village was the holy grail for us,” said David Herman, the executive producer of the TLC network show that claims to provide viewers a glimpse into the lives of American gypsies. Almost all of the show’s episodes feature Romani and Romanichal families – those descended from European gypsies, whose origins can be traced to the Indian subcontinent. Sunday’s episode, however, focuses on a North Augusta couple with connections to the Irish Traveler community, a distinctly different culture from the Romani people. “The Irish Travelers were the ones that were the most difficult,” Herman said. “The men didn’t want to talk to us at all.” The episode tells the story of Tamara and Bill McKown as they prepare for their wedding, which took place in December at the Kerry Court home of Bill’s mother, Mary Jo McKown. “The whole film is about that,” Herman said. “Will she be accepted?” McKown said that although she did plan an elaborate wedding celebration in the Traveler tradition, the key to her acceptance was the birth of their son, Jackson, in July. A central part of each episode is having an expensive wedding dress designed by Boston dressmaker Sondra Celli, McKown said. “I already had a dress for my wedding, but (the producers) said I had to get another one,” McKown said. “That was part of the deal.” Herman said Celli plays a key part in the show because she was the person who introduced the show’s producers to most of the families featured. Herman said they found Celli, who is known for making elaborate and outrageous dresses for gypsy brides, after about three months of unsuccessful attempts to get access to gypsy families in the United States. “She started making introductions. She trusted me, and they trusted her,” he said. McKown said when she renews her vows in December it will be in St. Edward Catholic Church, in Murphy Village, and in the gown she bought before getting involved with the TLC show. “I will finally get to wear my own dress,” she said.
Sending you all warm thoughts south of the border, and a big thankyou to all who served or are. In Canada we have our HIGHWAY OF HEROES. It is a moving tribute to our fallen. Our group is on Facebook if you want to check it out. The repatriations are so emotional. (group is in all caps like above)

Kate, when was the last time you did something for someone else (besides Steve?) I think the last friends that did something for Kate went under the name of...TLC. (Gee, Kate, ya know instead of making your friends do your chores, you can HIRE people to do that!) I wonder if Kate has stripes all over her property, so the kids always know where to sit??
Happy Birthday Pants :) That's amazing to share your 60th with such a holiday as this. Visiting your father's grave makes it even more special, even if sad.
fidosmommy: I think the G 'tradition' is flags on 4th of July- no one had any clue about it iirc...I was surprised Kate knew who America was freed from- she hesitated slightly on her answer. Also forced the kids to take a photo despite one in agony in need of the bathroom & a few grumpy ones with cornrows......
Looks like can-do Kate conned "old friends" to spend Memorial Day fixing things for her. (Read from bottom up.)

Just to let those wanting to see Taking Chance and don't have HBO, it is available on itunes for $14.99. I went to several stores a couple years back looking specifically for this movie after my son graduated bootcamp and another marine mom recommended to me. I have watched it over and over and have yet to do it with dry eyes. Practice doesn't always make perfect. It is truly worth every penny and also informative; the music is soothing and the scenery just beautiful.
On the next twittersode of Crazy Kate - apparently she has guests, old friends who are not only fixing stuff for her, but are making her dinner AND cleaning her kitchen. And we know this because the gracious hostess is madly twattering like the insufferable middle schooler she is. And pictures. And the usual odd English "all make laughing munchkin noises and commentate". You cannt make this stuff up..
Kate Gosselin @Kateplusmy8 R world would b a better place if more ppl existed like r friends, the Smith family!Fixing my fallen gar door &making my tractor wrk again!
Oh my goodness! Kate has FRIENDS! Doing work for her. On a national holiday. Guess she thought it was important, for SOME reason, to bring this to the attention of her Twitter nation. Does anyone ever get to just hang out out her house and NOT get pressed into service? DeannaTweeting?
Got to admit that my family eschews emotional films to celebrate and remember past military service. We have a great tradition of watching "The Devil's Brigade", "Run Silent, Run Deep", "Three Kings", and "M.A.S.H". Occasionally throw in "Tora! Tora! Tora!" and "Gettysburg". Serious stuff is saved for 11 November.
What on earth is that twit pic of the 6 sitting on a blue line in the garage supposed to be? (Did anyone notice that one child almost always has his gaze averted from the camera?)
I had never heard of the movie Taking Chance and we don't have HBO. However, I wanted to find out about this and googled the movie name. One of the items I found was a 4 page story that LT. Col. Michael Strobl, who escorted Chance back home, had written. He told about the journey from beginning to end and I found myself tearing up while reading his memories of that journey.
Gee, don't cha know the holiday was FOR Kate? She thought it meant "ME-morial Day"
It's a shame she didn't even mention what this holiday is for. Hey Kate, got any friends to work on those laundry stains? That would free up 8 hours of your day! (snark)
Oh no! You don't mean to say these 'friends' are doing the cleaning and cooking too? I read it as Kate was making pizza as a thank you...I am dense! After all, she was bragging about' mommy pizza,' oh, tweets ago...no wonder the Smith family moved!?!~

Happy Birthday, Pants on Fire :o)
Wishing you excellent health, wealth (it couldn't hurt ;o) ), and much happiness.
"The things you mentioned are all appreciated and important at their pricey, exclusive private school." ************************************************ Mouse, I hope I don't step on your toes, as you appear to be affiliated with LCDS. But it is hard to believe that the basic supplies mentioned by Reader Lady are not covered by the school's tuition. If my child attended that school and I paid those costs, I would not feel the need to supply crayons, paper, pencils, classroom books, or anything else.
There are many underfunded public schools across the country that desperately need such supplies...and Title One schools, in particular, need them the most. I urge all readers of this blog (who are financially able) to consider donating basic supplies to any schools that serve high-poverty children. These things are most appreciated!
Wow, Kate REALLY does not understand friendship, does she? If her tweets are to be believed, she conned some poor family into coming to her house (from out of town, no less) and fixing stuff around her house, making pizza for everyone and cleaning her kitchen.
You don't con your friends into doing shit for you. You just spend time with them, period. Sometimes friends do things for each other, but it's reciprocated. When have we EVER seen Kate reciprocate ANYTHING?
If I recall, wasn't it on Thanksgiving that she tweeted that her "guests" or "friends" husbands did work for her? I guess the only way you get an invitation to Kate's is if you do something for her in return. Does she send invitations that include a list of things needing to be done, and ask them to choose their chore?
yes! One has the cup of ice water4the worker, others hold the spare tools. All make laughing munchkin noises and commentate! :) about an hour ago And the audience that happily watches the work.. ------ Two things I noticed: 1. Kate doesn't do manual labor, and 2. she's teaching her kids the same thing!
I bet Jon thanks his lucky stars he has escaped that crazy biotch! What a loon. (and it makes me question is own intelligence for getting involved with her.)
wow, that tweet IS weird. The world would be a better place? Hire out the fix-it jobs, it's not that hard and it would boost the local economy a wee bit. Good grief.
We had a terrible snow storm here this winter and my husband was at our city place and I desperately wanted to join him after 2 days of no power out here. The garage door would not stay up on its own. I tried propping it up every way I could think of so I could drive my car out. Nothing worked. I actually debated staying here in the cold/dark rather than going across the street and asking my poor neighbor to come hold it up so I could make an escape. He was all too happy to do it, but I really felt bad for asking! Never in my wildest dreams would I save up a honey-do list for my friends.
Kate Is A Witch #67, I agree with your comments completely. How can she have people over on a holiday and have them work around her house, fix her and the kids dinner, and clean up the kitchen as well???? Her complete indifference and callousness to other people continues to blow my mind.
There were 16 people at our house for a BBQ yesterday. I brought the meats out to the grill and my brother was standing there. He told me was going to do the grilling. I told him no, that I invited him to be my guest. He told me I had done enough and I need to go play with the boys because they would be leaving the next day. That was so thoughtful of him. I was so touched by that. I felt sorry for him cooking dinner for my party, but he told me the only time I need to come near the grill is to bring him another cold "brewski". LOL!
Some people offered to help me clean up the kitchen and afterwards and I said no thank you, it could wait until tomorrow. This evening, we were going to sit out and enjoy each others company, and we did for hours. We all had a great time.
To me, that's what spending time with family and friends is all about.
I was reading the Canadian fan's essay. Apparently she is 17 or 18 years old and has not yet graduated. She tweeted a photo to Kate. My jaw dropped. This is exactly why kids begin their freshman year in college not being able to write a comprehensive essay. This was riddled with grammar and spelling errors, and instead of correcting this paper, the teacher wrote, "A well written letter...very good proofreading." Academically, I would place this on the level of a middle-schooler.
Perhaps the fault is not only with the student. A teacher who doesn't bother to correct the multiple errors and requests that it be rewritten, but instead gives a 90 percent and writes that it is well written, should not be calling herself or himself a "teacher." These kids just get passed from grade to grade without ever learning basic English writing skills.
Paige C @Paige_Kate8fan @Kateplusmy8 I got 90%on an English essay and 100% on an english quiz! :) http://twitpic.com/9qch2e
incredible gall. on holidays , no less. she really is a piece of work, no wonder she has few friends and those she has, move,like these people, Miss Beverly, Beth etc! I was thinking at least she made dinner for these people fixing her garage and tractor- that's not like hanging a picture or some small task
I have a close friend that is constantly trying to corral people into helping her around the house, set up electronics and fix her computer. I used to include her in all of our family gatherings, until I (and others) started getting annoyed at her constant attempts to turn the conversation to herself and get everyone to help her with her problems. I have family members who are in construction and computers, and it was never ending. At first I felt badly about dropping her, but, it is so much better without her. I thought she would bring it up, but, she has zero awareness, and has now moved on to someone else.
I wonder if Mr. 'Smith" is enjoying the view of Kate's new bra? Surely to pete if they are old church buddies, Kate would have the sense God gave a goose to cover those hound dogs up! I can't imagine having guests in your home, and asking them to fix a garage door and a tractor...neither of those jobs are five minute fixes, nor a 'tidy' task...both involve lots of manpower, sweat and a good deal of grease and dirt. Then, she makes the wife cook dinner! Well, at least the kids get a decent meal. Day-um Kate, I hope you at least send them on their way with a couple dozen eggs. (but maybe they are staying the night? if they were smart, they wouldn't finish the chores today...that way, they can at least get a place to sleep tonight before getting the ol' heave ho.

It's our version of 'This Old House and The Food Network all rolled together
She cant think in terms of a Bible parable or something, everything to her is some reality tv show. In her head she is reciting over and over "On this episode of Kate and Kate plus Kate, poor divorced woe-be-gone Kate finally gets some much needed attention around the house..."

Cruisin Just As Fast As She Can Now said... 72 ------- Well, this shows you the intelligence level of Kate's fans! They look up to Kate, because she is the smartier-est of their kind! lol
Wow, as a Canadian now living in the US, I just had to look at Paige's essay which you mentioned. It's terrible, no punctuation, numerous errors and swear words. I was educated in Canada and am maybe old-fashioned, lol, but that essay is bad! Maybe Kate helped her with it.

~~~~ Totally agree with you, Cruisin'. What is truly sad is the that this girl is in grade 12 (I believe) and her teacher puts "good job" stickers on their work. I think my teachers stopped doing that when I got to middle school!
Cruisin -- I know what you mean. My Goddaughter is graduating from college in another semester. She's very smart, an honors student, and she cannot write a simple declarative sentence without multiple spelling and grammar errors. Kids aren't being taught the basics of grammar and spelling these days. Current "educational" thinking is that it "stiffles creativity"! I call bull puckey on that. Grammar and spelling are the building blocks of written communication. If you don't have the building blocks, then you can't create the foundation for your writing. As you can see, you've touched on one of my hot buttons! What can I say, I was raised by an English professor.
I can't believe the nerve of KK, to have her GUESTS doing chores for her! Okay, those are probably jobs she couldn't do for herself, but still -- Hire someone KK! Or better yet, make PB earn his keep.
Didn't the menfolk at her last indentured friends' get-together fix her tractor? And it's already broken again? Uh oh...let the tractor grifting begin in 3...2...1...Oh, John Deere!!!
School essay. Wow. Forget the failure to utilize the Shift key. Forget running 12 main points into one veeerrrrry long paragraph. What would have caught my teacher's attention was the mention of the "gd" oatmeal. That alone would have called for a meeting with my teacher in the hall, a meeting with the principal in his office, a meeting with the guidance counselor in her office, and last but not least a phone call home to set up yet more meetings with my parents.
There would have been no grade of 90%, either. It would have been a flat 0.
I do not believe "creativity" requires foul language. In fact, to be truly creative and individualistic, try speaking or writing without using even one from Carlin's list. That will keep you searching for new words that get your point across and make you look, well, intelligent.
Three hours after her tweets about her visitors doing the work around her house, she now adds a little tidbit she didn't mention before: it was an impromtu visit. An impromptu visit from out of state? Really? And you put them to work and tweet while they're doing it?
Gee, Kate, did you read here how disgusted we were by your treatment of these "old friends"? Kate, your BS is so transparent, it's ridiculous.
Ooooooh, apparently if you show up to do Kate's bidding, you are allowed to get flour on the counter, no visqueen cover required. Hope they picked up 'every granule' while they were cleaning her kitchen!
Taking Chance is one of the finest movies you will see. When the US Flag draped coffins arrive at Dover AFB, not all families can meet the coffin and escort their family member homes. A Military Escort, an officer, of the deceased branch of Service is handed a portfolio with all of the information about the deceased and the mode(s) of transportation home. So much more than I am writing, but my husband was one of those pilots for 35 years and he often brought those "fallen hero'" home. The Escort is responsible for every aspect of the uniform, contacting those who will meet him, etc.
I believe the most significant part is the reaction of the civilians who have forgotten that we are at War. The looks on their faces as they watch the Escort lovingly stay with the "fallen hero" and insure the travel is smooth and easy as can be for the family.
www.pbs.org has every US govt approved organization who need help. There are so many families who are suffering other tragedies as well as this notification of a tragic loss.
Last year at one of our reunions I met a widow with 3 children, very young and we talked. We now communicate, sometimes these young widows just need to talk to someone who understands. Military learn that friends become family.
Save your pennies, just pennies for a year and do something for an organization that sends the children who have lossed a parent to a camp, so they can be together and feel "normal" and talk it out.
Hugs to all who wait, who have lossed someone and to those who served. Thank you.
's pizza time here... Finally! Having so much fun on Memorial Day with our old friends/impromptu visit! ------ Dang, impromptu from someone who moved 'far away'? And it being an impromptu visit makes her grifting for free upkeep even more horrendous.
And double dang, Kate...gee, it's Memorial Day weekend. I hardly see how Kate's weekend plans did anything to honor or commemorate our fallen heroes and be thankful for those that serve. She makes me ill.
And here we go with the pizza! (And look, that guy's using his bare hands!)
wife, may I ask a question? They said on Taking Chance that the escort was usually enlisted, but the colonel volunteered for that specific duty because Chance was from his hometown. The others in the class were enlisted, and that kid who was escorting his brother home was also enlisted. Do they try to get officers to do it as much as possible, but fill in the gaps with enlisted?
Thank you for your husband's service and also the service and sacrifices made by your entire family as you supported him.
That alone would have called for a meeting with my teacher in the hall, a meeting with the principal in his office, a meeting with the guidance counselor in her office, and last but not least a phone call home to set up yet more meetings with my parents.
I totally agree. I saw that, too, and was trying to figure out why the teacher allowed it. Not knowing the assignment, though, I would assume it was to write in the style of Ramsay Chrome (Famished Lover), so perhaps the teacher allowed it because the main character might use this language. That said, the essay (letter) could have been written without the peppering of expletives. It was totally unnecessary.
I noticed that when Paige tweets she says, "Me and my friend went..." I wonder if she talks this way to her teachers and parents, and if none of them ever bothered to correct her. This, and her spelling errors (as noted in her tweets) should have been nipped in the bud a long time ago.
Of course, fans seem to have a problem with spelling and grammar. Maybe it's a sheeple thing. Common errors are your and you're, their and there, seen and saw, and my personal favorite, "tomarrow."
I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Smith is really purseboy. I find it hard to believe that she has these friends that feel comfortable for an impromptu visit. That is not how she works. Didn't they have pizza yesterday and wasn't a BBQ on the menu for today? Hmmm... just doesn't add up to me.
Carezee has left a new comment on the post "Jon on Inside Edition":
AND it makes total sense that Skeve would be making the pizza with his bare hands, because only HE can touch pizza in its' natural state (foil-free).Of course he would be allowed to to spill flour on the counter because "it's all about him", isn't it?!
Did anyone ever find out, or do any kind of investigation, on whether it was the teen fan from Canada who set up the fake Cara Formspring (and perhaps Twitter) account? I remember that all evidence, such as wrong school dates, Canadian holidays, parents going to Cuba, all pointed in that direction. Didn't she and one of her friends set up an account to harass Ellen?
I can't imagine that Kate didn't care enough to have someone look into it. I would think that if someone set up an account and blogged as her daughter, discussing personal events, that she would have her attorneys on that very fast. I know that I would.
Her tweets about the "old friends" just don't add up. First, she says they moved far away, and now it's an impromptu visit. Who makes an impromptu visit on a holiday when most people have plans. Plus the "group" repaired a garage door and a tractor? Do they just happen to bring work clothes with them?
I can just picture this conversation via phone:
Them: Hi Kate, we're in the neighborhood and thought we'd stop by.
Kate: That's awesome!! I don't plan on going anywhere because my garage door is broken and I can't get my car out.
Them: Maybe we can take a look at it. Is there anything else we can help with?
Kate: Um, let me check my list. Can you also look at the tractor? By the way, I'm so exhausted from yesterday and Saturday-I really don't feel like cooking. Maybe we can to take-out.
Them: Don't worry, Kate, we'll make pizza and we'll even pick up all the ingredients.
Kate: That is so amazing and awesome of you. Thanks Steve! Oops, I meant "Mr. Smith".
"And here we go with the pizza! (And look, that guy's using his bare hands!)"
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
What is the purpose of tweeting a picture of a guy making pizza? I don't get it. I just don't get it! I can't believe that even her fans would go gaga over this...or do they? It's so mediocre.
Maybe they're tired from all that swimming, but I think the kids look world-weary in the pizza-making photo she just posted. Definitely not the faces of kids who are delighted to be among "old friends."
I don't get it either. If someone took a picture of me making pizza, I would think they were nuts. What did she tell him-"I must take a picture of this-my tweeties need to see this!"
I noticed she didn't mention the pool today, even though it was the hottest day of the weekend. Wonder if her "guests" got to swim or were they too busy doing chores and cooking?
One of the non-fans on twitter basically summed it up:
"IMO her twitter page is her own personal fantasy land .. a sub. for her failed TV career. She's losing it big time."
The "Smith" family. Impromptu visit. Really? Can't she come up with something more original than that. It's probably Skeevie and his sons. Who else would she let make a mess on her counter without having a meltdown. And she really thinks people believe her BS. Someone needs to pop her bubble and bring her back to the real world. Will a day go by that she doesn't embarrass herself.
The kids might be thankful for pizza twice in a row. Mr. Old Friend looks like he knows his way around a pizza, and the kids probably all remember Mommy's Sammonella Chicken, served twice. Once at home and once somewhere on that very traumatic RV trip.
So Kate has "friends". Friends who repair things for her. Friends who cook and clean for her. Friends who take family pictures for her. Friends who do makeup and hair for her.
Kate only has friends she can take advantage of for free.
However, on the photos I've seen of Steve, he wears a black watch. Unless one removes a watch to put pepperoni on a pizza, that's not Steve. Looks like the jury may be out on that one.
According to Wiki Kate is now the 'former' American tv personality and her networth dropped from a reported $5 mill in 2011 to $200,000 today. No wonder she is tweeting about imaginary friends as they play pretend reality tv shows.
Wondering who that SUV belongs to in the picture with the kids in the garage. Kate has a black one. That doesn't look black to me. Can't be the "friends" that came for the unexpected visit. Is it PB's?
Speaking of pizza (@106), is Steve the pizza chef? Are these his hands? Someone on Twitter thinks that they are: ~~~~~~~~~~~
I think they are Steves hands. No one else would put up with Kates BS honey do list. I love the look on one of the girls faces. She looks terrified that mom is going to come in at any moment and ruin the fun (like in pumpkin gate).
Gee, Kate tweeted all weekend long and never had the time to reflect on the true meaning of the Memorial Day weekend. I am not surprised. What a loser. But, maybe she plans on tweeting about it today? She always seems to be a day behind (like mentioning CC app on her appearances),celebrating events on the wrong day (birthdays), or even missing events entirely (spring break).
For Jon to have increased his custody time, Kate sure seems to have the kids non-stop. That will change this week, though, Momma has to go run in SD so she can pay the light bill! (snark) I bet she flies the coop Wed or Th, comes back next Tues or Wed. She needs her monthly vacations, it's hard to boss around all that help!
Yes, I'm positive they are Steve's hands. From what I can see, it looks like a person of Steve's stature.
KateIsBlind, I think that is Steve's SUV in the garage. Remember when Kate had to go to that hearing for not paying her counselor...Steve was shown driving her there and leaving with her. I don't care enough to try to find the pics, but from my memory, I think it was a similar-looking SUV. And "company" would not park in the garage.
Kate has an suv that size, but don't know the color. I wondered if the "Smiths" was actually Steve and his boys, but does Steve have a gut like the guy in the pic? I hope they made more than one pizza. Guess Kate had her yummy salad, organic, of course.
She grows more delusional by the week. Makes me wonder how deep in Fantasy Land she'll be by August, when the kids have been out of school for quite a while and she hasn't had any getaways except this half marathon.
She doesn't understand how friendship works and no family arrives from far away impromptu to make major repairs around your house, cook dinner for your family of nine and then clean your kitchen. She's only fooling the few who are willing to suspend disbelief. The rest of the world knows she's lying or isn't even paying attention.
And whoever pointed it out above is bang on: her "friends" are always the kind of people you pay. Makeup services, hair services, photography, odd jobs, you name it. I almost feel sorry for her that she calls those people friends. She doesn't know what real friendship is or even what it looks like. But I stop just short of feeling sorry for her, because this is the cold empty bed she has made and she's lying in it.
I hope she didn't tell the "friend" that one pizza would be plenty, because the kids look hungry. It is only fitting that PB would be there on Memorial Day, because he is there for all holidays. Maybe he brought his sons this time or maybe he was there in addition to the "Smiths." She didn't tweet all day, first saying that she was off to make gifts for the teachers, then friends arrive. She doesn't tweet when the kids were gone so probably at Jon's until she lined them up to take a photo. She is nothing, if not predictable.
It seems like the last time the mystery friends were there on a holiday they fixed the tractor then too and a door, I think.
Speaking of pizza (@106), is Steve the pizza chef? Are these his hands? ***** Well, any hands that make pizza other than Kate's are icky and gross! Especially if said hands have a Y chromosome.
If it's Steve or not, who cares? If they started their relationship before her marriage was over, and it's still continuing today, she is beside herself trying to figure out how they should come out as a couple, without ruining her super mom brand with her five fans. She's been saying all along they are just friends, well Kate, good luck figuring this one out! (what she sees in him I have no idea. He seems to be sort of a sissy, imo)
Hey, gang. Unless Steve has purchased a new SUV, that is not the silver Ford he was driving in August 2009 when he and his family visited the Konpound. Howver, it's not Kate's because I believe all her vehicles are black.
Yep, I think her friends are Steve and his children. Couldn't she think of a more original name than The Smiths. I doubt very much that someone who lives far away would just drop in on a long weekend without knowing if the host had other plans. And for someone who is forever taking pictures, why are there never any pictures of her friends.
To all our brave military, Canadian or American, and families who have lost loved ones, my prayers are with you.
Dwindle - I always look forward to your posts, you are so articulate and express yourself so well. I always thinks, wow, she says that way better than I could.
LoveMyGrandsons - I was so happy for you when you said you would have your grandsons for the long weekend. Aren't they precious? I live in a mother-in-law suite attached to my daughter's home and see my 2 grandsons (ages 4 and 6)every day (another granddaughter on the way in June) and treasure every moment I have with them. They are so cute and innocent.
Frankie - I'm on this side of the border also and have literally stood on the overpass and watched the black limousine cortège drive by on the HIGHWAY OF HEROES with tears rolling down my face.
Didn't Kate say the new bus was black? I remember it because she said they could still call it the BBB.
Regarding her "guests". WHO would allow a visitor to repair a tractor and her garage door before making dinner? I was brought up to believe that a guest never lifts a finger. If they sincerely want to, they can help clear the table, or ASSIST with token jobs, but the hostess bears full responsibility for all chores and work. If it were an emergency I can see asking for help, but that's it.
Does it make Kate feel special that she can get away with treating people like this. I know the answer and it's still unbelievable to me.
that is WHY Kate likes Steve - because he is woosy and she can order him around. That's why Jon was perfect for her - it's just that eventually even woosy guys can only take so much crap and they leave her! It's her pattern.
I just find it sad that she has to tweet when someone comes to visit. Is it such a rare occurrence? After years of having a reality show and meeting so many different people, you would think that she would have forged some friendships.
I find it odd that the kids were all lined up and watching someone fix something. Then, they lined up to watch that same someone make a pizza. Why aren't they playing? Guests in the home must be rare indeed, to capture their attention so totally.
Regarding the color of Kate's two gas-guzzler vehicles, the BBB IS black and her old SUV was black. But remember, she replaced that SUV not too long ago, so the one in the picture is probably her new one.
I vote for Steve as Mr Smith too...we know Steve loves his pizza! (RV pizzagate). Why wouldn't Mrs Smith be helping (no hands shown or a second work area on counter- messy!) since we can assume Mr Smith did most of the garage and tractor repairs. (sexist assumption I know, but I admit I could do neither)- is Kate gonna ride said tractor?? The girls look bored in the pic- not excited to see an old beloved friend, so maybe it's 'just' Steve? And yes, I hope there is a second pizza around for 11 supposed people,maybe Smith kids too? BBQ and pizza- they ate a lot today, lol
Oh, and did you ladies see yesterday I think that Kate corrected someone calling her Mrs- says she prefers Ms- but she is only too happy to keep the 'famous' Gosselin name, b/c she explained once she wants the kids to have the same name as she does?
Hey, gang. Unless Steve has purchased a new SUV, that is not the silver Ford he was driving in August 2009 when he and his family visited the Konpound. Howver, it's not Kate's because I believe all her vehicles are black.
Oh, and maybe Steve was swimming with the kids (Cara's hair looks wet) so that's why his watch is off...and if the Smith family has kids, why aren't they in the line-up of kids? The Smiths wouldn't leave their kids on a holiday from out of town ('far away,'K said)
Thanks for the suv info. I can't figure out why she would fabricate the Smith family story in the first place if it was really Steve. The only reason I can fathom is that we have criticized her for not having any friends, thus a mysterious Smith family. I bet Smith is a made up name anyway so they cannot be traced.
Anyway, my impression is that it was not Steve although he has gained weight. The whole tweeting was bizarre. If you live on that size of property, employ a handyman, you nitwit! Don't impose on your visitors.
Chefsummer: Kate only eats Kate salad. Even when she has guests over, she eats salad. What a bore. If I went to someone else's house for dinner and they prepared my dinner but ate something different from me, I would think, what an egocentric bitch. To continue your beloved diet Kate so that you can get a TV job is so pretentious. Not to mention awkward.
You know, I dropped in to see what, if anything, was new and realized I really don't care that Kate made pizza for her kids (I do it on Tuesdays, which is pizza night at our house and it's really easy, so there's no "Wow!" factor for me) and I don't give a fig if that's Steve or not. I think if they're a couple that she's an idiot for lying about it. Her few fans won't care - they'll go on and on about how she deserves to be happy, Steve's such a great guy, etc. - and the rest of the world will shrug and go "Kate who?"
@138..."and if the Smith family has kids, why aren't they in the line-up of kids?"
****
Maybe they don't have kids, and if they do, they didn't want them to appear in an internet photo! There may be some who don't want their children splashed all over the internet, open to public viewing (unlike Kate).
kateplusmy8 @Sandy_PHX3474 yes. My kids and I have a running event together in a few weeks...
Ah, so we're to be treated to Katie Irene's very own version of the Bataan Death March, starring her very own EIGHT (count 'm, 8!) chirruns! I see the future, and it looks like there'll be a lot more YouTube involved. Does anyone doubt PayPal will be far behind?
What a grossly predictable PoS she is. As for the half she's running on the weekend, I'm expecting her to leave no later than Friday (she said her kids' last school day is Weds.) and then back probably on Tuesday earliest. Does anyone think it's possible any of the kids is going? Nah, who needs child masseurs when she's got The Wrangler?
Where is every1 today? Is everybody dragging from the holiday weekend?? Or way behind w work? Ok, I'll let u slide..awful quiet out there... ---------- Uh, yea, Kate we 'r' all dragging from the 'holiday' weekend...yep, you guessed it! We all watched movies honoring our veterans, fallen heroes, went to Memorial services honoring the Brave..you had a damn good time, didn't you Kate? swimming, ordering old friends to do your chores and even cook your kids a pizza! You were so dang busy, in fact, you couldn't even take the time to tweet what Memorial Day is really about. What a great person you 'r'.
As far as where your fans 'r'... I think they 'r' in SCHOOL you idiot.
Yoohoo, Tweeties!! I need attention and adoration!
Looks like Steve's pot belly to me but who knows but I bet it's Steve.
-----------------
That was my thought, and like a whole lot of others here, who cares? But if Skeve was there making pizza and playing handyman yesterday, perhaps her escape to San Diego is starting even earlier.
And poor Katie, can't find her tweeties this morning - pathetic.
considering most of what's said is negative in that everyone believes she is lying I don't know how she could enjoy that attention, but being, Kate, it makes sense what you said, Firefly. she can believe what she wants- she's very deluded if she thinks any attention is good attention.
I can sort of understand Kate's tweeties tweeting pictures of their children or pictures of their food to Kate, because they want to imitate Kate. But one tweetie actually tweeting a picture of her foot after she had foot surgery is a little bit much.
Guess they'll do anything to get a tweet from Kate.
"My kids and I have a running event together in a few weeks..." I don't recall her mentioning that she runs with the kids recently. Wonder if they have to enter the event with no training for it? Plus, hope she feeds those thin boys first, as otherwise, I can see some of them not making it very far.
CNN announced today that chef Anthony Bourdain has been hired to be the host of a weekend show on food and travel. Better luck next time Kate, I'm sure that you were more highly qualified for the job especially since you've got 8 (count 'em 8) kids that want to travel and shreak with delight over every meal that you create (snark).
Birthday party pics are up on her site. It was all about the girls; the menu, several pictures of the tea party, and the cake. The boys' cake was only mentioned in passing and only one picture of them jumping into the pool. Oh, wait, I forgot: Boys are icky!
Oh wow, did Kate ask the other parents' permission before splashing their kids' pictures (in bathing suits no less) all over her website? I doubt it. Of course, she went on and on about the tea party and said nothing about the lego party. The kids look to be having fun, which is good.
Birthday Pictures: I looked at them, I admit it! The parties looked cute, and maybe on the level of Mady and Cara doing most the work. Kate sure tooted their horns! They were 'mediocre' in the sense of not over-done, just a few guests, and the kids looked happy. I hope they enjoyed it. I don't know why Kate talked about so much prep work- all they did was eat and swim, maybe play games. It looks like they opened gifts after the guests left. (I always hate that- like to have the gift-giver see the expression on the birthday child's face.) These were low-key regular celebrations- I would have thought there would be more kids, but maybe they were given a limit.Or maybe the six have the same friends?
I have had both tea parties and Lego theme parties- must say I prefer mine, but who ma I to say so?
Anyone notice that out of all of those pictures, not one of any adults. I swear Kate has no friends over, only Steve. At least the tups were allowed to invite friends.
I wonder how much supervision is going on when those children are in the pool.
tell me about it... Way too much to do... Out doing errands now -------- Any guess as to her 'errands'? tanning? parking in a fire lane? picking up booze? looking for her books at Target? buying paper towels and paper plates? picking up free stuff from her fans? buying more K cups? getting a mani/pedi for her weekend trip?
Ah, geez, Kate, don't lament about all your household chores...admit you HAVE HELP. (hear that noise? it's Kate and her fans, looking in the dictionary for the word 'lament')
As usual there is one picture of the boys birthday party and several pics for the girls. Even said the boys had cupcakes because their lego cake did not turn out well. Although there are a couple group pictures with everyone, she still shows such favoritism. Somebody could have taken pictures of the boys party as well. This is so sad.
Firefly, you're right. Kate is like a child who needs constant attention. If she can't get positive, she'll still see herself as a winner with the negative. What a freak.
There were times when I thought Jon's image should be removed from the masthead. His recent actions have proven me wrong.
I don't care about Kate's lame pizza- but I DO care that all of us had a safe and sweet Memorial holiday weekend. I wanted to drop in and say I really appreciated all of the comments here yesterday. (From one Military family to another!)
As for Jon's girlfriends... so what. Good for him. Kart can't land a *single* man to save her life. The handful of guests visiting the home over the years, are typically paid help. There was an article published a long time ago about how hard up Kate Gosselin is-- and how long her bed has been 'Kreider... party of one'!
@Kateplusmy8 looking at the pictures from the kids birthday party makes me miss the show even more,please bring it back:) please RT #1 fan!x ___
Nah, this is just kate sending herself questions that she thinks makes her look more marketable to another network. That's what I think anyway. I highly DOUBT all the asinine questions she gets are from other people. I fully believe she sends most of them to herself (how to make lemonade?? Seriously?? Even a 6-yr-old can do that.)
Again looking at the pictures of the birthday party I notice that there are no adults. I swear Kate has no friends, just Steve. At least we see that the tups have a few friends over for their party. Kudos to Cara and Maddy for doing something special for their birthday, although a bit late. I hate to be a pessimist but the only reason Kate arranged for this little party is because she put her foot in it at the Today interview and had no choice but to do something.
I hope there is some supervision at the pool, although again no adults in the picture.
"Where is every1 today"?= Are my 15 minutes finally up? Am I so boring that I have lost the last of my 6 fans? Wheres all the ass kissing? Helllllllllllllllo....anybody there?
Kate posted pictures of the tups party on her website. Some of the pictures include friends of the children. Did she get permission from their parents to post them online? Or does Kate think it's okay to exploit any child, even if they're not her own?
In the birthday photos Kate says all the kids wanted was to be in that pool since it was so hot and the mothers too. But I did not see one adult woman in any photo. Think the mothers dropped off the kids instead of going into signing confidentiality papers. Plus not that many kids attended. I mean with all the girlfriends Kate has, they have to have kids, right? Wrong.
I agree Steve has arrived because she has to explain an unusual car parked in her driveway when her neighbors drive by and check out the cars parked in the driveway. So it is the Smith Family and that would be Steve and his luggage as they have the SanDiego marathon this weekend, right?
We have so many marathons in PA. Really, so does every city for charities: Breast Cancer, Brain Cancer, etc., so why fly to San Diego?
Yesterday reading these posts was so rewarding and it was a place to be to feel better about losing family members to the Wars and to understand our wounded and their families. We have so much work to do, helping by some small way.
looks like the boys' party was in the garage and the girls were in the apartment above? Kate was with the girls of course and screwed up the boy's cake.
Wonder why Kate had two separate birthday parties like that? Seems like they could at least have been in the same room with the girls..the boys only had two friends, and no cake? Few pictures either. She really does not like them, does she?
May I digress for a moment and tell you about my little potato salad that I made this weekend? I had had a potato salad at a little mom and pop place a few weeks ago that was very good and I tried to recreate it this weekend, and I think I came pretty darned close.
The one I had was called Loaded Potato Salad. You all have probably had that and make it, but boy was this new to me!
I dont have measures for this yet. With my potato cubes still warm, I drizzled melted butter over them and tossed. Then I mixed equal parts sour cream with real mayo. (Not Miracle Whip, not fat free mayo etc as I was afraid the flavor additives would overwhelm the sour cream.) Then added lots of fresh chives and LOTS of crisp crumbled real bacon.
That's all. All the stuff you might use if you were making a 'loaded' baked potato, I tried to put in this potato salad. It was so good, so different! Next time I will go a little heavier on the sour cream and less mayo. I did use fat free sour cream as I cannot tell the difference there. No other seasonings, though.
If anyone out there has a REAL recipe for this, please share. I was just trying to recreate what I had elsewhere, but I am satisfied with the effort so far. Next time I will measure as I go.
Firefly said... 148 All this speculation and over analyzing of a picture Kate posts only makes Kate think the non fans are hanging on her every tweet. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
How right you are and we know Kate reads here faithfully because she makes sure she addresses every point we make, as long as she only has to TALK about it and not do, like, any actual WORK or anything.
Sometimes I come on here and see how we are pulling apart her words and actions and I know she is just not worth it.
On the other hand, I think we are keeping things real on here, especially her lies and her fraud and her continuing child exploitation and because of the public's awareness, Kate does not have a tee-vee show on the backs of her kids. And THAT is a good thing!
I would guess that at some point she has to realize all this negative attention on her psychopathologies, that she seems to crave, has ruined her 'career' as a 'stah'.
Amouse today: Cause it's Kate Gosselin, she will up-stage the other moms, to look good with the school and the teachers, so the teachers will write nice things about her kids and her. When I was in school, I don't remember most of the kids ever giving the teach anything, the only ones who did were, doing it so their kids grades would change, before final report card, that kind of bribing was going on. They were buying their kids grades and the teachers. Were talking Kate here, who never mentioned doing this before(at least I've never heard her say or do that), Kate does things for a reason, not from the heart.
I see Kate had friends over to work, just short of calling it a pizza work party.
Kids photo op.
Even had the one of the guest make the pizza. or was that purse-boy. I thought Kate did not like otyher people in her kitchen?
Kids sitting watching pizza being made, look: desparately hungry.
Kate putting kids to work on marathon(for pubilicity)
I see a scaled down pool party from last year. How many kids/people last year? 60-70. I counted 5 kids, which means 5 moms. I guess not everyone is a Gosselin fans or wants to sign papers, entering the Gosselin compound, have their cameras taken, so no pics escape the compound, remember only people with professional pic taking allowed and Kates pics, don't want anyone making money off the kids.
So, now Kate has no hired help. So, Kate which is it? A month ago Kate said she had a sitter come 4 1/2 days a week and a cleaning person one day a week and a laundry girl. So who watches the kids, when you go running, trips, and shopping trips? A ghost? Kate keeps changing the line up on hired help, when it suits her.
It may seem weird that there are only 5 kids for 6 birthday kids at the party, but remember, they attend school quite far from home, and most of their friends are probably from school. It probably took pretty committed parents to take those 5 kids to the birthday party.
I looked at her recent blog post on my Google-reader and it is SAD. There is a picture of the girls with their cake and the caption reads: "Hannah, Leah and Alexis beam with happiness as they celebrate with their first ever "girls only" cake! (boys had done their cake and icecream, piñata and Lego craft with Cara and adult supervisors by the time I was finished taking pictures upstairs! Geesh!)"
Geesh! kHate, get off your flat orange ass and show those boys just a shred of interest. They are invisible in that house unless she needs someone to blame. What a pathetic excuse of a mother. She makes me angry - I'd like to smack her with a giant lego! grrrr
KateIsBlind said... 156 I must have missed when she purchased a new SUV. What was her reasoning on why she has to get a new one?
&&&&&&&&&&&&
If I am recalling correctly, it somehow came out after she was busted for getting her Audi sports car that she had also traded in the Landcruiser for a used Sequoia. (Wasn't the Audi also "used"?) My guess is it was probably to reduce her monthly payments.
I could be wrong, and am always open to anyone correcting me.
Aggiesmom: Kate just made a lair out of her self all by herself. Kate tweeted that she made her famous pizza, and here is the pic. That is a guy making pizza, unless Kate had a dramatic, sex change over night. That looks like a guy to me.
Not many kids at this years kid party? what was last years, 20-30 kids a total of 70 guests. I counted 5 kids: 3 girls and 2 boys, and only the girls cake came out. So Kate could not bake another or go to the store for a cake? Geez, I hope Kate is not gonna get worse with the boys. The cake thing was too bad, your cake did not come out, probably had to share the girls cake. That is so wrong. Geez, if that happen to me, first it would not even happen to me, cause I would have bought a store cake, a sheet cake and decoratered it. I would have bought 2. Sheet cakes come in various sizes. Kate really does not like her sons much. Must remind her too much of Jon.
Did anyone catch, one of her recent quote tweets: about: ones ex wanting you back and the reason you don't want them back. Kate reasoning is maybe she wants Jon back, Jon does not want her back.
Winsomeone said... 173 Wonder why Kate had two separate birthday parties like that? Seems like they could at least have been in the same room with the girls..the boys only had two friends, and no cake? Few pictures either. She really does not like them, does she?
What?!? What on earth was her rationalizing for that?!? Sorry, but haven't read all the comments yet, so maybe there's more to this than I know, but that is totally whacked!
Negative and positive, every comment is a big ego boost to Kate. ====
Of course it is, she's a narcissist. Even when her name is trending because everyone is ecstatic that she's going away, she's happy. That shows how mentally disturbed she is. It would be great if she'd address her problem instead of wallowing in self-adoration.
I must have missed when she purchased a new SUV. What was her reasoning on why she has to get a new one? ------- Spring of 2011...She traded in the black one for the newer one (in the garage pic) and her fancy sports car. She only fessed up to it after a tabloid outed her getting out of her audi. She said it was saving her money and too good to pass up. Blech.
Dwindle: sounds delish! I will try it! Thanks for sharing the recipe.
Re: adults at party.
In one pool shot , it looks like MAYBE one lone adult is sitting by the pool in a light blue T shirt and khaki shorts and flip-flops, behind one of the girls' guests. The face is hidden. But the body language spells boredom! Hardly being pampered.
And it is ridiculous the favoritism to the girls. The boys were in the garage ( with the broken door?) and no one but Cara around? Kate did say adult supervision for the pinata, so why couldn't that person snap a photo or two? Did they get to eat their cupcakes- if the cake did not turn out well, did someone hurriedly buy store bought (gasp) cupcakes for the icky boys and their two pals?
Guys: if you look at the pool pics, one of the pics, there are moms in the lounge chairs, there faces are blocked by the kids, who are standing in front of them. I wonder if why there are so few kids, this year as compared to last year is that, maybe nobody wanted to sign papers, or not bring cameras on to the compound. Perhaps, because of Kates actions, her kids are getting the results, and are not that well liked in school. which I would truely feel sorry for the kids, they are innocent victums of their deranged/delutional mother.
Their bday pics are a far cry from Kate's glory days with TLC! Looks like the girls had 5 guests, the boys, two. Well, sometimes kids schedules are busy. And with that many kids celebrating, I am sure they were only allowed to invite one or two (at the most) to keep the parties manageable. I don't blame Kate in that regard. (If you have 6 bday kids, and each invited 4 friends and they all showed up, that's 30 kids...!) The decorations were a bit on the simple side even for someone 'mediocre', but at least it was mom-done and kid approved! I didn't see one adult...I bet the moms weren't allowed to attend. I know when my kids attended parties I generally liked them to leave, so I could supervise and manage the kids...if not, you are trying to entertain kids AND parents, and that sometimes gets a little dicey. I hope she had a lifeguard or someone capable monitoring the swimming pool. I hate that they boy's cake didn't turn out well, and it looks like Kate made the girl's cake..it looked mom-made to the best of her abilities, so Kate, you get a thumbs up for giving your kids a TLC-free party. Even though she put it on the internet, it's baby steps...
I didn't go to KKs website to look at the BD party pix, but hearing that there were no adults visible at the pool really bothers me. Sadly, yesterday, a local 7 year old girl drowned. There were a number of adults around the pool, but she slipped under the water and was unresponsive when she was pulled out. She died at the hospital. It only takes a minute, and lives are tragically changed forever. PLEASE KK, if you do read here, PLEASE be more responsible about supervising your kids and their visitors.
Today's events include a Memorial Day BBQ- will there be guests? Sure to 'exhaust' Kate. Menu is included, very original, hotdogs etc.
...and also making gifts for teachers/ Many schools don't allow this as some children do not have the means to do so. I went to a yard sale once and there were all these unopened picture frames, knick-knacks etc and the lady said she was a teacher and received more of these than she could use...if Krafty Kate is making them with the kids, I don't have high hopes either.
Why does she crowd too much for herself into these weekends? They could have made the gifts another time. To appear supermom? Will there be pictures of the party, BBQ, and gifts? I'm surprised there haven't been photos of the party unless I missed them, just the toe snapping vid.Too many tweets to follow.
Amy2 #173...I have CHILLS after reading your post...chills all over my body. I applaud you.
Amy2, thank you for the sacrifices you have made for our country.
God bless you.
Happy Memorial Day.
To all that have served, or have a family member (or friend) that has served- or is currently serving:
I am eternally grateful to you, the men & women & even the service dogs that have given their lives for my freedom. I am grateful to your families as well.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Love,
Pink
On a personal note- as a child of Cuban born parents, I am especially aware of the importance of freedom, and to never take it for granted.
Occasionally, my father likes to recount his life story. When he gets to the part when he arrived to this country, his straightens his frail body (in salute to this country), and said, "when I arrived in America, the first thing I saw was the American flag. I left an oppressive country, to come to the land of the free, and the home of the brave", and to this day, he blesses this country for the opportunities he was given.
To my dad, the American flag is the most beautiful flag in the whole wide world.
I agree.
Kate brags about everything she thinks she has that keeps her up "with the Jones." She covets what she has seen her former friends have, especially Beth. Now, Kate has the big country house, pool, sports car, spa days, etc. that she saw Beth have. Jealousy, thy name is Kate. Considering that the Carson family downsized, it's kind of comical to watch Kate try to keep up.
I don't think that Kate knows what a "friend" is, or how to be a friend.
It appears that people who serve her in some way or another, are her friends. Until they leave from mental, and physical exhaustion...
Pink, 194...thank you for that Memorial Day post. I would like to give your dad a hug. My dad fought in WW2. Our flag is flying high in a gentle breeze today. Your post made me look at it with a moment of complete appreciation..
Angie, you hit it on the nose.
Ooooh, so many of your posts about Memorial Day have also given me chills. The different experiences and perspectives of posters here are awe-inspiring.
I had relatives who were veterans as well as out dear neighbor, a WW2 vet. He gave my son when he was a little boy his war medals- not his own sons. That was the greatest gift my son ever received, and even as a child he felt incredibly honored, and respected and cherished our dear friend. They used to talk about his war experiences- shot down and POW, as well as many other things. He was one of the dearest friends we will ever make. My children do not have a grandfather, but found one across the street. RIP KF. And thank you to so many others, both departed and living.
And although we were not born American, we too have a beautiful US flag waving in the warm morning breeze this Memorial Day, 2012.
Someone should ask Kate why does she deserve to be back to TV.
They should ask her why does she deserve to have a new show.
And what hard work has she does in order to get a new show.
I see no new has ever asked her why she deserves to be on TV.
Chef, 200 ... I do not think that Kate could give you and answer that would make sense. She might say, "Because I am MEEE and I got thinner and blonder and more beautiful. Fans are begging to see MEEE and the kids who got older and bigger."
You are trying to find purpose and reason in from a person who has neither.
But, it would be a really good question to ask her.
My father served in Vietnam. In fact that's where he was when I was born. He passed away in his 40s from a cancer that has been linked to service in Vietnam due to Agent Orange. Although he's not on the wall I still think of him as a casualty of the "conflict". Just as I think of all the young men who have committed suicide after their recent service. God bless them all.
I think the reason the pool is being mentioned all the time now is to excuse the fact that these kids will not be having an off-compound vacation (or even local day-camp-like activities) this summer. She's going to be all "Well, we have everything we need to have FUN right HERE, and besides, all the houses at BHI/OBX were rented, and I really couldn't go out of town with 8 kids on my own, and oh yeah, NOBODY ELSE HAS OFFERED TO PAY FOR IT." Not to mention, Momma's got at least one (and likely more) out-of-town "gigs" (runs) for herself, so what does she care if the kids are confined to the stalag? The cost of the nannies for her absence(s) plus the cost of her and Steve's first-class EVERYTHING would surely cover a week at a shore house. But Kate has her priorities, of course, and what she is doing, in HER head, is putting herself out there to find a job "FOR MY KIDS."
Different day, same old nonsense.
Just popping in here to say Happy Memorial Day to y'all. I love the special posts honoring our service men and women. I'll add one here. My father was a (disabled) WWII Navy vet. he instilled in me a deep pride of my country and of our flag. Every holiday I would help him hang our flag in the morning and take it down and reverently fold it in the evening. We had neighbors who emigrated to this country from Eastern Europe after WWII. Every holiday, they would come out on their porch and stand at attention while my dad and I took down our flag. One day I asked my dad about this and he said that our neighbors were one of the reasons we fought that war. They were devout Catholics who spent nearly 3 years in a concentration camp for hiding Jews. I've never felt so proud of my dad or of my 2 uncles, who were also WWII Navy vets. God bless all of you who served, are serving, or are supporting and loving an active service member or vet. And, as Pink reminds us, God bless the military service animals too.
Just have to comment here on the "Hannah" quote. I have visions of her walking down the hall as a high school freshman and hearing some upper class bully shouting that after her. Poor kid will never live that particular incident down.
Funny (NOT), how the twins were responsible for carrying out the younger kids' birthday party, but KK can't stir herself to provide a party for the twins on their birthday.
Localyocul I know how you feel. I have buried 2 brothers, US Marines, both volunteered during Vietnam time, both wounded badly but went to work, we never knew about all of their injuries, but yes, they were subjected to the dropping of the Agent Orange. Also the Air Force and US Army came in contact with AGent AGent. It is now acknowledged finally as a disabling factor for veterans.
Both of my brothers suffered terribley as their organs were deteriorating from the Agent Orange. One died at age 44 and the other brother died at 52. Both, we didn't find out until they passed away, were highly decorated. They are my hero'.....and always will be. One is buried at Arlington as this was his wish, the other is buried with my parents.
Days like this if we do not thank the powers that be for our freedoms that the military volunteer to protect we have rocks in our heads and that would be people like Kate Gosselin.
So many of my brother's friends live in her area, all are treated at the veterans hospital, not that far from her. They don't have pools, they would welcome being invited to a day at the Gosselin pool, eating a hamburger or hot dog that Kate Gosselin could prepare for some of these vets who now can no longer work and rely on the goodness of other veterans. Some have lost their families due to their PTSD, others have families but they don't spend on themselves but raising their children.
So Kate, since you do nothing but tweet, why the heck don't you invite the veterans to your home to swim? Do something for the veterans. Lord, do something for someone beside begging for yourself. Use your twitter power to get your sheeple to open their homes to the military and their families. All these young people overseas, young spouses with children at home. You are surrounded by these people like we all are.
Kate you won't read this post as it is one of those "always telling me to give when I want more myself" well you will never be graced with anything else in this world because you do not ever give.
Greed and worrying about gifts for the teachers? Hey just go down to your warehouse in the basement of that Mansion you live in and "re gift" something to the teachers. Or just autograph a photo of yourself along with one of your books. lol lol lol lol..........not too much to think of.
Pink: You are just...contagious! :)
Happy Memorial Day to all, and it's interesting to hear all the stories. People are amazing. (Well, many of them!)
Here's her answer to why she deserves/needs a tv show:
The kids miss crew/filming/vacations. It would never be about her (snark).
But I too would love to see the question asked.
In the real spirit of today, a heartfelt thanks to those who served, and continue to serve, our country.
Angie and Amy2, as the wife of a war veteran, I applaud your posts. Spot on.
...Off to make our end of the year teacher gifts...I'll check in later! ;) have a great Memorial Day!!
Please Kate, we've seen your creations. Haven't the teachers suffered enough, dealing with you? Get them a gift certificate to a spa or restaurant.
Kate is sure tweeting a lot this weekend and I think it’s so she can show everyone how much she has done: birthday parties, massive cleanup efforts, crafts, homemade mommy pizza (huge hit!). She has to justify how exhaustish she is and how mommy needs her monthly vacation. She keeps saying she runs for her kids. Since they are out of school as of Wednesday, she should bring them to San Diego so they can see her run in person and give them a nice vacation. Sadly, it won’t happen. Vacations are now only for Kate and purseboy.
A thank you to all those you have served and currently serving in the military and their families.
I went to a yard sale once and there were all these unopened picture frames, knick-knacks etc and the lady said she was a teacher and received more of these than she could use..
While it's thoughtful to make gifts for teachers, what are they going to do with them? Kate should think about this. After all, she throws away homemade gifts. Yes, teachers appreciate the sediment (sic) that goes with each child making something for the teacher, but these things accumulate very fast.
I found that what teachers really appreciate are gift certificates, perhaps to a spa, a ticket to a play at a local theater or movie, or the favorite -- a gift certificate for two to a local restaurant. They always use these...it's a nice evening out for the teacher and a spouse or friend. Of course it's not something that the child has put much thought into creatively and made with his/her own hands, but it is something that isn't going to be filed away in a box somewhere, only to eventually end up at a garage sale.
readerlady-regarding the Hannah "quote". It reminds me of how Gary Coleman's biggest beef was when he was approached by anyone, they would always say "Watcha talkin about Willis", which was one of his character Arnold's classic lines from Different Strokes. He used to say how annoying it was that that was what he was remembered for.
Unfortunately, I fear that Hannah is going to be treated the same way.
The child could decorate the envelope that the gift certificate is in if it means so much to have the child's actual input. Or make a card to go with the gift certificate.
Mouse:
A gift card is a good idea. something everyone can use. Maybe a homemade card,if the child wants to make something, and we know what awesome cards the G kids can produce- a veritable gallery for their teachers!
Yes! Amen to that! My daughter gave her teacher a gift certificate to a play several years ago. I see the teacher occasionally, and she told me that out of all the gifts she received, she always remembers that one because it was such a good musical, and every time she thinks about it she remembers that it was because of my daughter that she got to see it.
Kate doesn't think about things like that. She always has to make everything complicated...off to buy supplies to make gifts. The reason? Probably to show herself as a Supermom, then brag about it, and then claim exhaustion.
I wish a blessed Memorial Day to you all here at 15 Minutes. Thanks for sharing your stories and memories.
"Greater love has no man than this that a man lay down his life for a friend."
Hubby, daughter and I cleaned our basement today. We attacked it with a vengeance! Nah. Not really. We just cleaned it up. There was no arguing, yelling, or bad attitudes. And I'm NOT exhausted. I must be in better health/shape than Kate. It's amazing how much stuff accumulates in that basement! We've got a big load for Goodwill.
Happy Memorial Day to all! Also, a sincere thank you to all of our service men and women who risked their lives, and gave their lives, for America. We have all been blessed by their selfless acts of courage.
I've read the many wonderful comments posted about Memorial Day, thank you all. I agree that it's so important to remember why we celebrate this day and explain to our children. My boys just left a couple hours ago. When they arrived on Friday, I had American flags in our flowerbeds and stickees ribbons and flags in our windows. My grandsons asked what they were for and we explained Memorial Day to them. They had questions about it and we answered them the best we could so they would understand it. When our neighbor's little girl came over to play with the boys, she asked about the decorations and the boys told her about them, in their own sweet kid way.
May you all be blessed with a wonderful and safe Memorial Day.
My daughter is a teacher and she really appreciates gift certificates. So many teachers are now providing supplies for their classrooms, it is really nice to be given something that will allow them to treat themselves now and then.
When she completed her student teaching, the teacher gave her a tote bag decorated with all of the kids' handprints in paint. The bag was filled with cards, thank yous and words of encouragement and gift cards. She cherishes that tote bag and it was a wonderful memory of her student teaching.
I was reading tweets from Kate's buddies today, and saw this one -
"nikki_c_wilson
@Allisstair @kateplusmy8 I was gonna have him make something at first also. Then decided my patients were too thin today lol."
I also lol'ed because I thought this was from a physician who specialized in weight control!
Just a thought...
Kate took the twins out west for their birthday last year. If taking them on a trip for their birthday turns out to be their new birthday tradition, what about the sextuplets? I don't think she'd do that for six kids at once, even when they're older.
It's hot and steamy here today. I have a feeling most of my activities are going to be indoors, in the AC, since I don't have a "mine, all mine" pool to luxuriate in.
As a former teacher, and a current classroom volunteer, I can state that the gifts I most appreciated were for the classroom -- crayons, paint, a package of construction paper, simple puzzles, drawing paper, cut-out decorations for various holidays, pencils, books for the classroom bookcase (or a gift card for the local bookstore). Of course, I taught at a mediocre public school and currently volunteer at a Parochial school where more than half our students are on scholarship. These things may not be needed nor important at a pricey, exclusive private school.
Happy Memorial Day to all, as we pause to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice made by many.
If you can, you should watch Taking Chance, a true story about one soldier's final journey home, on HBO. It is incredible. I had seen it, but it was on again last night and we were both blubbering like babies. My husband served 9 years in the Air Force and jokes that he flew a desk. A Korean vet in the movie says to an officer who lamented that he wasn't in combat, "DO you think you need to justify that, wanting to be with your family?" I reminded him of the same thing. Not everyone serves during war, not everyone during war goes to combat, but they all do an important job.
Pink, hope Cocoa is on the mend. This one is fine, none the wiser after it happens, but no seizure last night, praise the Lord!
PJ's Momma...Taking Chance with Kevin Bacon is a simple, restrained masterpiece. I think Bacon's subdued performance causes the viewers knee jerk reaction of emotion. Thank you for reminding me of that movies. It is based on a true story. I did not know the procedure of transporting a body. That night that Bacon spends in the hanger just makes me cry.
Now, I want to see it again...today.
Happy Memorial Day
To my uncle and to my grandfather who served they are resting in heaven.
Also happy Memorial Day to the families that have served here as well.
-----------
PS. we all know that Kate isn't taking the kids anywhere.
Taking Chance is on HBO today...several times. My DVD is set up.
The child could decorate the envelope that the gift certificate is in if it means so much to have the child's actual input. Or make a card to go with the gift certificate.
-------------------
As a former teacher, and mother of teachers, I say amen to that thought. Without wanting to be ungrateful, a small gc is so appreciated these days, and all teachers have boxes of picture frames, mugs, etc. Classroom supplies are also nice. GC's for a spa treatment, coffee, nursery, movie night, etc., all nice thoughts, not expensive. But K8 can't even treat her kids.
Perhaps she should have planned ahead and ordered some items from Em Tanner LOL.
Dmasy, you are so right. My husband squeaked out, "That is some unbelievable acting." (Such as when he salutes and holds in a tear or sets his jaw when he sees Chance.) I said, "Maybe he's not acting. Chance was a real person and this is the story of so many people." I know Dover has made some mistakes lately, but the tenderness in which they treated those remains is so touching. That last procession on the highway with lights on just slays you dead. It is an amazing movie and I'm not sure why it never got more attention.
Kate doesn't think about things like that. She always has to make everything complicated...off to buy supplies to make gifts. The reason? Probably to show herself as a Supermom, then brag about it, and then claim exhaustion.
Nah, I think you give Kate too much credit. I think she makes gifts cuz she's CHEAP. (remember she put boxes of homemade cookies on the trashcans (oooh, that's what an OCD person would do, oh yea) for the, as I guess she would call him , 'mr. trashman'? I think the dog got into them, as I recall.
I don't think there is anything wrong with the kids staying at the compound this summer. Heck, when they were dragged hither, thither and yon..they were WORKING.
What's wrong with a nice, boring, lazy summer of relaxing by the pool?
I'd like to know what Kate's little ol' half marathon is going to cost...Steve, flights, food, shopping, hotels, spas, etc...I could take my whole crew somewhere NICE for one or two weeks on what she's gonna drop over the weekend.
Way to go, Kate. You say it's all about the kids, but your actions prove your mouth wrong. Your walk doesn't match your talk.
Happy Memorial Day
So, Kate finely had the tups other party. BIG WHOOP!
I see Kate is making bribe gifts for the teachers. I'm sure nobody else does. Kate tryin to be generous, what a laugh!
I've had to take a min-vacation, from the net. My new computer, crashed, had to get a new one(they exchanged, the bad one for a brand new one) I hate to say this did not miss Kate, missed this blog, but not Kate.
Pink, glad your dog is better.
Someone else is dog is sick hope your dog gets better too.
I see nothing new with Kate.
I also see that the articles recent of Kate are all saying Kate needs to get it in her head, that show biz does not want her.
You guys have such wonderful sentiments for Memorial Day, it truly warms the heart. I have to add that Amy Roloff sent out a very nice 'sediment' on her FB page. Kate REALLY needs to take a lesson!!!
Spa gift cards for teachers is a GREAT idea- I wish I had thought of that when my daughter was still in school.
I read a very interesting article about My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding on TLC and to the point, the show it so set up. I'll post it as soon as I find it again. Last night's episode was mostly staged - boy was I disappointed. It does gives you an insight into how TLC, and reality TV, works. I truly hope, beyond all hope, that Jon's book is a tell-all about the show. That would be far more interesting than his life with Kate, LOL!!
Have a great day every one. I hope all dogs, and animals, are feeling better and thank you to everyone who has served, or has a family member who has served- including police and first responders and volunteers for keeping our nation safe.
Is everyone else having HOT weather? My goodness...
Do you suppose the Gosselin tradition of decorating the driveway happened this year? Only KateVid knows...
Does anyone think the San Diego half marathon trip will be all paid for by a sponsor of some kind? At the LV marathon, didn't Kate do some interviews ahead of the race, etc and was billed as some kind of lame attraction or special guest? I just find it hard to believe that as cheap as Kate is, she would pay for a trip (even just for herself and Stevie) out to San Diego. That will not be cheap, unless they just stay a couple of nights and hightail it back to Pa, since it will be on her dime. Maybe that is the plan?
Taking Chance is such an important emotional understated movie. Kevin Bacon played his character with great restraint and let the story tell itself. The quiet respect from complete strangers shows the depth of appreciation others have for those who served.
40 years ago a member of my family was killed in Vietnam. Recently we attended a military ceremony where he was honored by those who served with him. One of the people personally made a shadow box to house his medals and flag. Before we left for the ceremony (flew cross country) we were informed there would be shell casings in the box. I contacted Homeland Security at the airport we would be checking in on our return to see if there was any problem with having the casings. There wasn't. TSA was respectful of the box and all TSA office personnel came to the security gate to ensure we had no trouble. On one leg of the trip home we gave the box to a flight attendant to put it in a closet as it did not fit in the overhead bin. Our family was very quiet about this as we did not want to draw attention. When it was time to disembark the plane all the flight attendants met us at the door of the cabin, handed the shadow box to us, quietly folded their hands and bowed their heads. Nothing was said. It is this quiet respect that I personally believe the airline personnel show to others in similar situations.
Thank you for recommending, "Taking Chance" today.
It is a beautiful movie.
God bless our soldiers, past and present.
Taking Chance was a beautiful movie. The part where all the cars on the highway form a carivan to follow the hearse was incredibly moving.
The bday pictures probably won't be up until after the holiday. I assume the webmaster puts up the pictures.
Thanks too, for the movie recommendation, I hadn't heard of it. I'll be buying it this week. I watched a few clips on youtube, started watching some clips concerning the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier,and wiped my eyes too many times to count.
God Bless our military and their families!
I had a few relatives at Pearl Harbor, and later Korea, and have a dear friend that served in Vietnam...he is now spending most of his time going back and forth to the VA hospital (agent orange effects).
And now I have a Naval son-in-law...
"All gave some, some gave all".
I see Kate is making bribe gifts for the teachers. I'm sure nobody else does. Kate tryin to be generous, what a laugh!
Why would they be bribe gifts? School is nearly over, and they all will have different teachers next year. She can bribe at the beginning of the next school year.
These things may not be needed nor important at a pricey, exclusive private school.
The things you mentioned are all appreciated and important at their pricey, exclusive private school.
PJ's Momma -- IIRC, "Taking Chance" was originally intended to be a commercial release, but couldn't find a distributor, so it appeared on HBO instead. It did win a number of awards, including a couple for Kevin Bacon (Golden Globe and, I think, Emmy?). I agree, it's a moving, understated and beautiful movie. I've always liked Kevin Bacon, but considered him to be a rather lightweight actor, until I saw this film. He was so good and so moving. I don't know why he doesn't get offered more straight dramatic roles.
If you can, you should watch Taking Chance, a true story about one soldier's final journey home, on HBO. It is incredible. I had seen it, but it was on again last night and we were both blubbering like babies.
Here is the article about TLC's My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding- an interesting behind the scenes look ~~~~
The producer of My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding said the episode filmed in and around North Augusta’s Murphy Village was by far the most difficult, but also the show’s most “revelatory.”
• “Murphy Village was the holy grail for us,” said David Herman, the executive producer of the TLC network show that claims to provide viewers a glimpse into the lives of American gypsies.
Almost all of the show’s episodes feature Romani and Romanichal families – those descended from European gypsies, whose origins can be traced to the Indian subcontinent. Sunday’s episode, however, focuses on a North Augusta couple with connections to the Irish Traveler community, a distinctly different culture from the Romani people. “The Irish Travelers were the ones that were the most difficult,” Herman said. “The men didn’t want to talk to us at all.” The episode tells the story of Tamara and Bill McKown as they prepare for their wedding, which took place in December at the Kerry Court home of Bill’s mother, Mary Jo McKown. “The whole film is about that,” Herman said. “Will she be accepted?” McKown said that although she did plan an elaborate wedding celebration in the Traveler tradition, the key to her acceptance was the birth of their son, Jackson, in July.
A central part of each episode is having an expensive wedding dress designed by Boston dressmaker Sondra Celli, McKown said.
“I already had a dress for my wedding, but (the producers) said I had to get another one,” McKown said. “That was part of the deal.”
Herman said Celli plays a key part in the show because she was the person who introduced the show’s producers to most of the families featured.
Herman said they found Celli, who is known for making elaborate and outrageous dresses for gypsy brides, after about three months of unsuccessful attempts to get access to gypsy families in the United States.
“She started making introductions. She trusted me, and they trusted her,” he said.
McKown said when she renews her vows in December it will be in St. Edward Catholic Church, in Murphy Village, and in the gown she bought before getting involved with the TLC show.
“I will finally get to wear my own dress,” she said.
Yep, that's what being a friend means to Kate..they do stuff for HER.
Kate, when was the last time you did something for someone else (besides Steve?)
I think the last friends that did something for Kate went under the name of...TLC.
(Gee, Kate, ya know instead of making your friends do your chores, you can HIRE people to do that!)
I wonder if Kate has stripes all over her property, so the kids always know where to sit??
Happy Birthday Pants :) That's amazing to share your 60th with such a holiday as this. Visiting your father's grave makes it even more special, even if sad.
fidosmommy: I think the G 'tradition' is flags on 4th of July- no one had any clue about it iirc...I was surprised Kate knew who America was freed from- she hesitated slightly on her answer. Also forced the kids to take a photo despite one in agony in need of the bathroom & a few grumpy ones with cornrows......
John really should stop going from one woman to the next, it is not appropriate. At least Kate doesn't do that.
Looks like can-do Kate conned "old friends" to spend Memorial Day fixing things for her. (Read from bottom up.)
Just to let those wanting to see Taking Chance and don't have HBO, it is available on itunes for $14.99. I went to several stores a couple years back looking specifically for this movie after my son graduated bootcamp and another marine mom recommended to me. I have watched it over and over and have yet to do it with dry eyes. Practice doesn't always make perfect. It is truly worth every penny and also informative; the music is soothing and the scenery just beautiful.
On the next twittersode of Crazy Kate - apparently she has guests, old friends who are not only fixing stuff for her, but are making her dinner AND cleaning her kitchen. And we know this because the gracious hostess is madly twattering like the insufferable middle schooler she is. And pictures. And the usual odd English "all make laughing munchkin noises and commentate". You cannt make this stuff up..
Oh my goodness! Kate has FRIENDS! Doing work for her. On a national holiday. Guess she thought it was important, for SOME reason, to bring this to the attention of her Twitter nation. Does anyone ever get to just hang out out her house and NOT get pressed into service? DeannaTweeting?
Got to admit that my family eschews emotional films to celebrate and remember past military service. We have a great tradition of watching "The Devil's Brigade", "Run Silent, Run Deep", "Three Kings", and "M.A.S.H". Occasionally throw in "Tora! Tora! Tora!" and "Gettysburg". Serious stuff is saved for 11 November.
What on earth is that twit pic of the 6 sitting on a blue line in the garage supposed to be? (Did anyone notice that one child almost always has his gaze averted from the camera?)
so Kate is making special pizza as well as her famous BBQ?
I had never heard of the movie Taking Chance and we don't have HBO. However, I wanted to find out about this and googled the movie name. One of the items I found was a 4 page story that LT. Col. Michael Strobl, who escorted Chance back home, had written. He told about the journey from beginning to end and I found myself tearing up while reading his memories of that journey.
I am definitely going to rent the movie.
Gee, don't cha know the holiday was FOR Kate? She thought it meant "ME-morial Day"
It's a shame she didn't even mention what this holiday is for.
Hey Kate, got any friends to work on those laundry stains? That would free up 8 hours of your day! (snark)
Oh no! You don't mean to say these 'friends' are doing the cleaning and cooking too? I read it as Kate was making pizza as a thank you...I am dense!
After all, she was bragging about' mommy pizza,' oh, tweets ago...no wonder the Smith family moved!?!~
Mouse, I hope I don't step on your toes, as you appear to be affiliated with LCDS. But it is hard to believe that the basic supplies mentioned by Reader Lady are not covered by the school's tuition. If my child attended that school and I paid those costs, I would not feel the need to supply crayons, paper, pencils, classroom books, or anything else.
There are many underfunded public schools across the country that desperately need such supplies...and Title One schools, in particular, need them the most. I urge all readers of this blog (who are financially able) to consider donating basic supplies to any schools that serve high-poverty children. These things are most appreciated!
That right, Kate. The world would be a better place if more people existed to serve you.
I wonder if in return, she ever helps anyone beside herself?
Wow, Kate REALLY does not understand friendship, does she? If her tweets are to be believed, she conned some poor family into coming to her house (from out of town, no less) and fixing stuff around her house, making pizza for everyone and cleaning her kitchen.
You don't con your friends into doing shit for you. You just spend time with them, period. Sometimes friends do things for each other, but it's reciprocated. When have we EVER seen Kate reciprocate ANYTHING?
If I recall, wasn't it on Thanksgiving that she tweeted that her "guests" or "friends" husbands did work for her? I guess the only way you get an invitation to Kate's is if you do something for her in return. Does she send invitations that include a list of things needing to be done, and ask them to choose their chore?
1. Kate doesn't do manual labor, and
2. she's teaching her kids the same thing!
I bet Jon thanks his lucky stars he has escaped that crazy biotch! What a loon.
(and it makes me question is own intelligence for getting involved with her.)
wow, that tweet IS weird. The world would be a better place? Hire out the fix-it jobs, it's not that hard and it would boost the local economy a wee bit. Good grief.
We had a terrible snow storm here this winter and my husband was at our city place and I desperately wanted to join him after 2 days of no power out here. The garage door would not stay up on its own. I tried propping it up every way I could think of so I could drive my car out. Nothing worked. I actually debated staying here in the cold/dark rather than going across the street and asking my poor neighbor to come hold it up so I could make an escape. He was all too happy to do it, but I really felt bad for asking! Never in my wildest dreams would I save up a honey-do list for my friends.
Kate Is A Witch #67, I agree with your comments completely. How can she have people over on a holiday and have them work around her house, fix her and the kids dinner, and clean up the kitchen as well???? Her complete indifference and callousness to other people continues to blow my mind.
There were 16 people at our house for a BBQ yesterday. I brought the meats out to the grill and my brother was standing there. He told me was going to do the grilling. I told him no, that I invited him to be my guest. He told me I had done enough and I need to go play with the boys because they would be leaving the next day. That was so thoughtful of him. I was so touched by that. I felt sorry for him cooking dinner for my party, but he told me the only time I need to come near the grill is to bring him another cold "brewski". LOL!
Some people offered to help me clean up the kitchen and afterwards and I said no thank you, it could wait until tomorrow. This evening, we were going to sit out and enjoy each others company, and we did for hours. We all had a great time.
To me, that's what spending time with family and friends is all about.
I was reading the Canadian fan's essay. Apparently she is 17 or 18 years old and has not yet graduated. She tweeted a photo to Kate. My jaw dropped. This is exactly why kids begin their freshman year in college not being able to write a comprehensive essay. This was riddled with grammar and spelling errors, and instead of correcting this paper, the teacher wrote, "A well written letter...very good proofreading." Academically, I would place this on the level of a middle-schooler.
Perhaps the fault is not only with the student. A teacher who doesn't bother to correct the multiple errors and requests that it be rewritten, but instead gives a 90 percent and writes that it is well written, should not be calling herself or himself a "teacher." These kids just get passed from grade to grade without ever learning basic English writing skills.
incredible gall. on holidays , no less. she really is a piece of work, no wonder she has few friends and those she has, move,like these people, Miss Beverly, Beth etc! I was thinking at least she made dinner for these people fixing her garage and tractor- that's not like hanging a picture or some small task
I have a close friend that is constantly trying to corral people into helping her around the house, set up electronics and fix her computer. I used to include her in all of our family gatherings, until I (and others) started getting annoyed at her constant attempts to turn the conversation to herself and get everyone to help her with her problems. I have family members who are in construction and computers, and it was never ending. At first I felt badly about dropping her, but, it is so much better without her. I thought she would bring it up, but, she has zero awareness, and has now moved on to someone else.
I wonder if Mr. 'Smith" is enjoying the view of Kate's new bra?
Surely to pete if they are old church buddies, Kate would have the sense God gave a goose to cover those hound dogs up!
I can't imagine having guests in your home, and asking them to fix a garage door and a tractor...neither of those jobs are five minute fixes, nor a 'tidy' task...both involve lots of manpower, sweat and a good deal of grease and dirt.
Then, she makes the wife cook dinner! Well, at least the kids get a decent meal.
Day-um Kate, I hope you at least send them on their way with a couple dozen eggs.
(but maybe they are staying the night? if they were smart, they wouldn't finish the chores today...that way, they can at least get a place to sleep tonight before getting the ol' heave ho.
Totally agree with you, Cruisin'.
What is truly sad is the that this girl is in grade 12 (I believe) and her teacher puts "good job" stickers on their work. I think my teachers stopped doing that when I got to middle school!
Hope everyone had a great holiday down there!
Cruisin -- I know what you mean. My Goddaughter is graduating from college in another semester. She's very smart, an honors student, and she cannot write a simple declarative sentence without multiple spelling and grammar errors. Kids aren't being taught the basics of grammar and spelling these days. Current "educational" thinking is that it "stiffles creativity"! I call bull puckey on that. Grammar and spelling are the building blocks of written communication. If you don't have the building blocks, then you can't create the foundation for your writing. As you can see, you've touched on one of my hot buttons! What can I say, I was raised by an English professor.
I can't believe the nerve of KK, to have her GUESTS doing chores for her! Okay, those are probably jobs she couldn't do for herself, but still -- Hire someone KK! Or better yet, make PB earn his keep.
Unexpected visit from helpful friends....OK. But, during their visit she is tweeting...only Kate!
Didn't the menfolk at her last indentured friends' get-together fix her tractor? And it's already broken again? Uh oh...let the tractor grifting begin in 3...2...1...Oh, John Deere!!!
"John really should stop going from one woman to the next, it is not appropriate. At least Kate doesn't do that."
Yeah, Kate doesn't go from woman to woman even though Joy Behar suggested she become a lesbian.
School essay. Wow. Forget the failure to utilize the Shift key. Forget running 12 main points into one veeerrrrry long paragraph. What would have caught my teacher's attention was the mention of the "gd" oatmeal. That alone would have called for a meeting with my teacher in the hall, a meeting with the principal in his office, a meeting with the guidance counselor in her office, and last but not least a phone call home to set up yet more meetings with my parents.
There would have been no grade of 90%, either. It would have been a flat 0.
I do not believe "creativity" requires foul language. In fact, to be truly creative and
individualistic, try speaking or writing without using even one from Carlin's list. That will keep you searching for new words that
get your point across and make you look, well,
intelligent.
It's pizza time here... Finally! Having so much fun on Memorial Day with our old friends/impromptu visit! http://t.co/eEX5WxXk(preview)
Impromptu? I seriously doubt Kate allows "impromptu" in her life. I hope the kids at least got plenty of pizza.
Three hours after her tweets about her visitors doing the work around her house, she now adds a little tidbit she didn't mention before: it was an impromtu visit. An impromptu visit from out of state? Really? And you put them to work and tweet while they're doing it?
Gee, Kate, did you read here how disgusted we were by your treatment of these "old friends"? Kate, your BS is so transparent, it's ridiculous.
Sorry, in my previous post I misspoke. I said out of state, but she said "far away".
Thanks to all who suggested watching "Taking Chance". I just finished watching it. Excellent! Now I need to go wipe my eyes and blow my nose.
Ooooooh, apparently if you show up to do Kate's bidding, you are allowed to get flour on the counter, no visqueen cover required. Hope they picked up 'every granule' while they were cleaning her kitchen!
I saw this on Kate's twitter. For those of you who have twitter, I thought you'd like to know.
Taking Chance is one of the finest movies you will see. When the US Flag draped coffins arrive at Dover AFB, not all families can meet the coffin and escort their family member homes. A Military Escort, an officer, of the deceased branch of Service is handed a portfolio with all of the information about the deceased and the mode(s) of transportation home. So much more than I am writing, but my husband was one of those pilots for 35 years and he often brought those "fallen hero'" home. The Escort is responsible for every aspect of the uniform, contacting those who will meet him, etc.
I believe the most significant part is the reaction of the civilians who have forgotten that we are at War. The looks on their faces as they watch the Escort lovingly stay with the "fallen hero" and insure the travel is smooth and easy as can be for the family.
www.pbs.org has every US govt approved organization who need help. There are so many families who are suffering other tragedies as well as this notification of a tragic loss.
Last year at one of our reunions I met a widow with 3 children, very young and we talked. We now communicate, sometimes these young widows just need to talk to someone who understands. Military learn that friends become family.
Save your pennies, just pennies for a year and do something for an organization that sends the children who have lossed a parent to a camp, so they can be together and feel "normal" and talk it out.
Hugs to all who wait, who have lossed someone and to those who served. Thank you.
's pizza time here... Finally! Having so much fun on Memorial Day with our old friends/impromptu visit!
------
Dang, impromptu from someone who moved 'far away'? And it being an impromptu visit makes her grifting for free upkeep even more horrendous.
And double dang, Kate...gee, it's Memorial Day weekend.
I hardly see how Kate's weekend plans did anything to honor or commemorate our fallen heroes and be thankful for those that serve. She makes me ill.
And here we go with the pizza! (And look, that guy's using his bare hands!)
wife, may I ask a question? They said on Taking Chance that the escort was usually enlisted, but the colonel volunteered for that specific duty because Chance was from his hometown. The others in the class were enlisted, and that kid who was escorting his brother home was also enlisted. Do they try to get officers to do it as much as possible, but fill in the gaps with enlisted?
Thank you for your husband's service and also the service and sacrifices made by your entire family as you supported him.
That alone would have called for a meeting with my teacher in the hall, a meeting with the principal in his office, a meeting with the guidance counselor in her office, and last but not least a phone call home to set up yet more meetings with my parents.
I totally agree. I saw that, too, and was trying to figure out why the teacher allowed it. Not knowing the assignment, though, I would assume it was to write in the style of Ramsay Chrome (Famished Lover), so perhaps the teacher allowed it because the main character might use this language. That said, the essay (letter) could have been written without the peppering of expletives. It was totally unnecessary.
I noticed that when Paige tweets she says, "Me and my friend went..." I wonder if she talks this way to her teachers and parents, and if none of them ever bothered to correct her. This, and her spelling errors (as noted in her tweets) should have been nipped in the bud a long time ago.
Of course, fans seem to have a problem with spelling and grammar. Maybe it's a sheeple thing. Common errors are your and you're, their and there, seen and saw, and my personal favorite, "tomarrow."
I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Smith is really purseboy. I find it hard to believe that she has these friends that feel comfortable for an impromptu visit. That is not how she works. Didn't they have pizza yesterday and wasn't a BBQ on the menu for today? Hmmm... just doesn't add up to me.
Looks like Steve is at the Gosselin's house unless Kate has man hands.
Carezee has left a new comment on the post "Jon on Inside Edition":
~~~~
Carezee, I think you are right - it is Skeve.
But this is all how kHate plays with words. AND it makes total sense that Skeve would be making the pizza with his bare hands, because only HE can touch pizza in its' natural state (foil-free).Of course he would be allowed to to spill flour on the counter because "it's all about him", isn't it?!
Did anyone ever find out, or do any kind of investigation, on whether it was the teen fan from Canada who set up the fake Cara Formspring (and perhaps Twitter) account? I remember that all evidence, such as wrong school dates, Canadian holidays, parents going to Cuba, all pointed in that direction. Didn't she and one of her friends set up an account to harass Ellen?
I can't imagine that Kate didn't care enough to have someone look into it. I would think that if someone set up an account and blogged as her daughter, discussing personal events, that she would have her attorneys on that very fast. I know that I would.
On this Memorial Day evening, there's a show on NGC called Witness: GI Homecoming. Happy tears!
Her tweets about the "old friends" just don't add up. First, she says they moved far away, and now it's an impromptu visit. Who makes an impromptu visit on a holiday when most people have plans. Plus the "group" repaired a garage door and a tractor? Do they just happen to bring work clothes with them?
I can just picture this conversation via phone:
Them: Hi Kate, we're in the neighborhood and thought we'd stop by.
Kate: That's awesome!! I don't plan on going anywhere because my garage door is broken and I can't get my car out.
Them: Maybe we can take a look at it. Is there anything else we can help with?
Kate: Um, let me check my list. Can you also look at the tractor? By the way, I'm so exhausted from yesterday and Saturday-I really don't feel like cooking. Maybe we can to take-out.
Them: Don't worry, Kate, we'll make pizza and we'll even pick up all the ingredients.
Kate: That is so amazing and awesome of you. Thanks Steve! Oops, I meant "Mr. Smith".
"And here we go with the pizza! (And look, that guy's using his bare hands!)"
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
What is the purpose of tweeting a picture of a guy making pizza? I don't get it. I just don't get it! I can't believe that even her fans would go gaga over this...or do they? It's so mediocre.
Maybe they're tired from all that swimming, but I think the kids look world-weary in the pizza-making photo she just posted. Definitely not the faces of kids who are delighted to be among "old friends."
In Katespeak, the word impromptu is:
I-prompt-u... to do my bidding.
Spring Has Sprung said... 102
I don't get it either. If someone took a picture of me making pizza, I would think they were nuts. What did she tell him-"I must take a picture of this-my tweeties need to see this!"
I noticed she didn't mention the pool today, even though it was the hottest day of the weekend. Wonder if her "guests" got to swim or were they too busy doing chores and cooking?
One of the non-fans on twitter basically summed it up:
"IMO her twitter page is her own personal fantasy land .. a sub. for her failed TV career. She's losing it big time."
So apparently they had pizza two nights in a row. Yesterday when someone asked if she grilled by the pool, Kate tweeted:
Kate Gosselin@Kateplusmy8
@xxxx @xxxx @xxxx no, we had moms homemade pizza (huge weekend hit) Bc we will likely grill tomorrow for Mem day!:)
I am doubtful that "Mr. Smith" is Stevie. Think about it. Does it seem that Stevie could possibly know how to repair garage doors or tractors? lol
The "Smith" family. Impromptu visit. Really? Can't she come up with something more original than that. It's probably Skeevie and his sons. Who else would she let make a mess on her counter without having a meltdown. And she really thinks people believe her BS. Someone needs to pop her bubble and bring her back to the real world. Will a day go by that she doesn't embarrass herself.
The kids might be thankful for pizza twice in a row. Mr. Old Friend looks like he knows his way around a pizza, and the kids probably all remember Mommy's Sammonella Chicken, served twice. Once at home and once somewhere on that very traumatic RV trip.
I was trying to figure out what this meant...
xxxxxxx
@emeraldcityjazz @kateplusmy8 Maybe Kate will land a gig from this marathon. When they see her toe she'll be the next Snufalofagis.
Then I realized -- Mr. Aloysius Snuffleupagus (Snuffy), the Muppet who lives in the cave!

================================================
Well, she can't even get one, let alone going from one man to the next. She would if she could. She has no choice. Poor dear.
So Kate has "friends". Friends who repair things for her. Friends who cook and clean for her. Friends who take family pictures for her. Friends who do makeup and hair for her.
Kate only has friends she can take advantage of for free.
Speaking of pizza (@106), is Steve the pizza chef? Are these his hands? Someone on Twitter thinks that they are:
http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/gallery/kate-gosselin-and-steve-neild-photo/
http://img.ly/iQfY
However, on the photos I've seen of Steve, he wears a black watch. Unless one removes a watch to put pepperoni on a pizza, that's not Steve. Looks like the jury may be out on that one.
Woopdie freakin doooo! So shes making a pizza?!! Should it make national headlines? This woman is a total head case...OMG!!
According to Wiki Kate is now the 'former' American tv personality and her networth dropped from a reported $5 mill in 2011 to $200,000 today. No wonder she is tweeting about imaginary friends as they play pretend reality tv shows.
Wondering who that SUV belongs to in the picture with the kids in the garage. Kate has a black one. That doesn't look black to me. Can't be the "friends" that came for the unexpected visit. Is it PB's?
Speaking of pizza (@106), is Steve the pizza chef? Are these his hands? Someone on Twitter thinks that they are:

I think they are Steves hands. No one else would put up with Kates BS honey do list. I love the look on one of the girls faces. She looks terrified that mom is going to come in at any moment and ruin the fun (like in pumpkin gate).
Gee, Kate tweeted all weekend long and never had the time to reflect on the true meaning of the Memorial Day weekend. I am not surprised. What a loser.
But, maybe she plans on tweeting about it today? She always seems to be a day behind (like mentioning CC app on her appearances),celebrating events on the wrong day (birthdays), or even missing events entirely (spring break).
For Jon to have increased his custody time, Kate sure seems to have the kids non-stop. That will change this week, though, Momma has to go run in SD so she can pay the light bill! (snark)
I bet she flies the coop Wed or Th, comes back next Tues or Wed. She needs her monthly vacations, it's hard to boss around all that help!

Yes, I'm positive they are Steve's hands. From what I can see, it looks like a person of Steve's stature.
KateIsBlind, I think that is Steve's SUV in the garage. Remember when Kate had to go to that hearing for not paying her counselor...Steve was shown driving her there and leaving with her. I don't care enough to try to find the pics, but from my memory, I think it was a similar-looking SUV. And "company" would not park in the garage.

Kate has an suv that size, but don't know the color.
I wondered if the "Smiths" was actually Steve and his boys, but does Steve have a gut like the guy in the pic?
I hope they made more than one pizza. Guess Kate had her yummy salad, organic, of course.
She grows more delusional by the week. Makes me wonder how deep in Fantasy Land she'll be by August, when the kids have been out of school for quite a while and she hasn't had any getaways except this half marathon.
She doesn't understand how friendship works and no family arrives from far away impromptu to make major repairs around your house, cook dinner for your family of nine and then clean your kitchen. She's only fooling the few who are willing to suspend disbelief. The rest of the world knows she's lying or isn't even paying attention.
And whoever pointed it out above is bang on: her "friends" are always the kind of people you pay. Makeup services, hair services, photography, odd jobs, you name it. I almost feel sorry for her that she calls those people friends. She doesn't know what real friendship is or even what it looks like. But I stop just short of feeling sorry for her, because this is the cold empty bed she has made and she's lying in it.
I hope she didn't tell the "friend" that one pizza would be plenty, because the kids look hungry. It is only fitting that PB would be there on Memorial Day, because he is there for all holidays. Maybe he brought his sons this time or maybe he was there in addition to the "Smiths." She didn't tweet all day, first saying that she was off to make gifts for the teachers, then friends arrive. She doesn't tweet when the kids were gone so probably at Jon's until she lined them up to take a photo. She is nothing, if not predictable.
It seems like the last time the mystery friends were there on a holiday they fixed the tractor then too and a door, I think.
I vote the hands belong to Steve-o, and "Smith" is the name they use when they check into hotels. That Khatie is so good at cover-up, don'tcha know?
Speaking of pizza (@106), is Steve the pizza chef? Are these his hands?
*****
Well, any hands that make pizza other than Kate's are icky and gross! Especially if said hands have a Y chromosome.
If it's Steve or not, who cares? If they started their relationship before her marriage was over, and it's still continuing today, she is beside herself trying to figure out how they should come out as a couple, without ruining her super mom brand with her five fans. She's been saying all along they are just friends, well Kate, good luck figuring this one out!
(what she sees in him I have no idea. He seems to be sort of a sissy, imo)
Hey, gang. Unless Steve has purchased a new SUV, that is not the silver Ford he was driving in August 2009 when he and his family visited the Konpound. Howver, it's not Kate's because I believe all her vehicles are black.
Yep, I think her friends are Steve and his children. Couldn't she think of a more original name than The Smiths. I doubt very much that someone who lives far away would just drop in on a long weekend without knowing if the host had other plans. And for someone who is forever taking pictures, why are there never any pictures of her friends.
To all our brave military, Canadian or American, and families who have lost loved ones, my prayers are with you.
Dwindle - I always look forward to your posts, you are so articulate and express yourself so well. I always thinks, wow, she says that way better than I could.
LoveMyGrandsons - I was so happy for you when you said you would have your grandsons for the long weekend. Aren't they precious? I live in a mother-in-law suite attached to my daughter's home and see my 2 grandsons (ages 4 and 6)every day (another granddaughter on the way in June) and treasure every moment I have with them. They are so cute and innocent.
Frankie - I'm on this side of the border also and have literally stood on the overpass and watched the black limousine cortège drive by on the HIGHWAY OF HEROES with tears rolling down my face.
Looks like Steve's pot belly to me but who knows but I bet it's Steve.
Hey at least he's got another title to add to his job description purser boy the pizza maker.
She's a strange one. Why would you need to tweet that someone came to visit you?
Didn't Kate say the new bus was black? I remember it because she said they could still call it the BBB.
Regarding her "guests". WHO would allow a visitor to repair a tractor and her garage door before making dinner? I was brought up to believe that a guest never lifts a finger. If they sincerely want to, they can help clear the table, or ASSIST with token jobs, but the hostess bears full responsibility for all chores and work. If it were an emergency I can see asking for help, but that's it.
Does it make Kate feel special that she can get away with treating people like this. I know the answer and it's still unbelievable to me.
that is WHY Kate likes Steve - because he is woosy and she can order him around. That's why Jon was perfect for her - it's just that eventually even woosy guys can only take so much crap and they leave her! It's her pattern.
I just find it sad that she has to tweet when someone comes to visit. Is it such a rare occurrence? After years of having a reality show and meeting so many different people, you would think that she would have forged some friendships.
I find it odd that the kids were all lined up and watching someone fix something. Then, they lined up to watch that same someone make a pizza. Why aren't they playing? Guests in the home must be rare indeed, to capture their attention so totally.
Ooops I meant purse boy the pizza maker.
I find it kind of funny that Kate now seems to love pizza.
But one the RV breakdown epis it looked like she was going to be pissed if she had to eat pizza.
Regarding the color of Kate's two gas-guzzler vehicles, the BBB IS black and her old SUV was black. But remember, she replaced that SUV not too long ago, so the one in the picture is probably her new one.
I vote for Steve as Mr Smith too...we know Steve loves his pizza! (RV pizzagate). Why wouldn't Mrs Smith be helping (no hands shown or a second work area on counter- messy!) since we can assume Mr Smith did most of the garage and tractor repairs. (sexist assumption I know, but I admit I could do neither)- is Kate gonna ride said tractor?? The girls look bored in the pic- not excited to see an old beloved friend, so maybe it's 'just' Steve? And yes, I hope there is a second pizza around for 11 supposed people,maybe Smith kids too? BBQ and pizza- they ate a lot today, lol
Oh, and did you ladies see yesterday I think that Kate corrected someone calling her Mrs- says she prefers Ms- but she is only too happy to keep the 'famous' Gosselin name, b/c she explained once she wants the kids to have the same name as she does?
Hey, gang. Unless Steve has purchased a new SUV, that is not the silver Ford he was driving in August 2009 when he and his family visited the Konpound. Howver, it's not Kate's because I believe all her vehicles are black.
=======
The car in the garage is her gray Toyota Sequoia.
Oh, and maybe Steve was swimming with the kids (Cara's hair looks wet) so that's why his watch is off...and if the Smith family has kids, why aren't they in the line-up of kids? The Smiths wouldn't leave their kids on a holiday from out of town ('far away,'K said)
Thanks for the suv info. I can't figure out why she would fabricate the Smith family story in the first place if it was really Steve. The only reason I can fathom is that we have criticized her for not having any friends, thus a mysterious Smith family. I bet Smith is a made up name anyway so they cannot be traced.
Anyway, my impression is that it was not Steve although he has gained weight. The whole tweeting was bizarre. If you live on that size of property, employ a handyman, you nitwit! Don't impose on your visitors.
Ha, Ha I just realized the significance of the pizza making because of the RV trip. No wonder everyone immediately thinks of Steve!
Chefsummer: Kate only eats Kate salad. Even when she has guests over, she eats salad. What a bore. If I went to someone else's house for dinner and they prepared my dinner but ate something different from me, I would think, what an egocentric bitch. To continue your beloved diet Kate so that you can get a TV job is so pretentious. Not to mention awkward.
You know, I dropped in to see what, if anything, was new and realized I really don't care that Kate made pizza for her kids (I do it on Tuesdays, which is pizza night at our house and it's really easy, so there's no "Wow!" factor for me) and I don't give a fig if that's Steve or not. I think if they're a couple that she's an
idiot for lying about it. Her few fans won't care - they'll go on and on about how she deserves to be happy, Steve's such a great guy, etc. - and the rest of the world will shrug and go "Kate who?"
My apathy was rather nice, actually.
If her & Steve are a couple I don't see why they just don't come out with it.
She's not getting another show any time soon if at all so why not just say were a couple?
Unless Steve is still married I don't see the problem.
Since Kate doesn't care what others think about her just come out with it all ready.
@138..."and if the Smith family has kids, why aren't they in the line-up of kids?"
****
Maybe they don't have kids, and if they do, they didn't want them to appear in an internet photo! There may be some who don't want their children splashed all over the internet, open to public viewing (unlike Kate).
kateplusmy8
@Sandy_PHX3474 yes. My kids and I have a running event together in a few weeks...
Ah, so we're to be treated to Katie Irene's very own version of the Bataan Death March, starring her very own EIGHT (count 'm, 8!) chirruns! I see the future, and it looks like there'll be a lot more YouTube involved. Does anyone doubt PayPal will be far behind?
What a grossly predictable PoS she is. As for the half she's running on the weekend, I'm expecting her to leave no later than Friday (she said her kids' last school day is Weds.) and then back probably on Tuesday earliest. Does anyone think it's possible any of the kids is going? Nah, who needs child masseurs when she's got The Wrangler?
Where is every1 today? Is everybody dragging from the holiday weekend?? Or way behind w work? Ok, I'll let u slide..awful quiet out there...

Uh, yea, Kate we 'r' all dragging from the 'holiday' weekend...yep, you guessed it! We all watched movies honoring our veterans, fallen heroes, went to Memorial services honoring the Brave..you had a damn good time, didn't you Kate? swimming, ordering old friends to do your chores and even cook your kids a pizza! You were so dang busy, in fact, you couldn't even take the time to tweet what Memorial Day is really about. What a great person you 'r'.
As far as where your fans 'r'... I think they 'r' in SCHOOL you idiot.

Yoohoo, Tweeties!! I need attention and adoration!
All this speculation and over analyzing of a picture Kate posts only makes Kate think the non fans are hanging on her every tweet.
Looks like Steve's pot belly to me but who knows but I bet it's Steve.
-----------------
That was my thought, and like a whole lot of others here, who cares? But if Skeve was there making pizza and playing handyman yesterday, perhaps her escape to San Diego is starting even earlier.
And poor Katie, can't find her tweeties this morning - pathetic.
considering most of what's said is negative in that everyone believes she is lying I don't know how she could enjoy that attention, but being, Kate, it makes sense what you said, Firefly. she can believe what she wants- she's very deluded if she thinks any attention is good attention.
Seems like TLC is all about criminals they have a pro-shop lifter and mom's that pop pills on TV.
Way 2 go TLC your standard for entertainment is pretty good.
I can sort of understand Kate's tweeties tweeting pictures of their children or pictures of their food to Kate, because they want to imitate Kate. But one tweetie actually tweeting a picture of her foot after she had foot surgery is a little bit much.
Guess they'll do anything to get a tweet from Kate.
"My kids and I have a running event together in a few weeks..." I don't recall her mentioning that she runs with the kids recently. Wonder if they have to enter the event with no training for it? Plus, hope she feeds those thin boys first, as otherwise, I can see some of them not making it very far.
Negative and positive, every comment is a big ego boost to Kate.
Firefly, I agree with you.
CNN announced today that chef Anthony Bourdain has been hired to be the host of a weekend show on food and travel. Better luck next time Kate, I'm sure that you were more highly qualified for the job especially since you've got 8 (count 'em 8) kids that want to travel and shreak with delight over every meal that you create (snark).
I must have missed when she purchased a new SUV. What was her reasoning on why she has to get a new one?
Guess the fan is begging.
@Kateplusmy8 looking at the pictures from the kids birthday party makes me miss the show even more,please bring it back:) please RT #1 fan!x
Birthday party pics are up on her site. It was all about the girls; the menu, several pictures of the tea party, and the cake. The boys' cake was only mentioned in passing and only one picture of them jumping into the pool.
Oh, wait, I forgot: Boys are icky!
And the photos are up I've to give it to Kate good job well done.
http://www.kateplusmy8.com/tea-party-lego-8th-birthday-party/
Oh wow, did Kate ask the other parents' permission before splashing their kids' pictures (in bathing suits no less) all over her website? I doubt it. Of course, she went on and on about the tea party and said nothing about the lego party. The kids look to be having fun, which is good.
Birthday Pictures: I looked at them, I admit it! The parties looked cute, and maybe on the level of Mady and Cara doing most the work. Kate sure tooted their horns! They were 'mediocre' in the sense of not over-done, just a few guests, and the kids looked happy. I hope they enjoyed it. I don't know why Kate talked about so much prep work- all they did was eat and swim, maybe play games. It looks like they opened gifts after the guests left. (I always hate that- like to have the gift-giver see the expression on the birthday child's face.) These were low-key regular celebrations- I would have thought there would be more kids, but maybe they were given a limit.Or maybe the six have the same friends?
I have had both tea parties and Lego theme parties- must say I prefer mine, but who ma I to say so?
Anyone notice that out of all of those pictures, not one of any adults. I swear Kate has no friends over, only Steve. At least the tups were allowed to invite friends.
I wonder how much supervision is going on when those children are in the pool.
tell me about it... Way too much to do... Out doing errands now
--------
Any guess as to her 'errands'?
tanning?
parking in a fire lane?
picking up booze?
looking for her books at Target?
buying paper towels and paper plates?
picking up free stuff from her fans?
buying more K cups?
getting a mani/pedi for her weekend trip?
Ah, geez, Kate, don't lament about all your household chores...admit you HAVE HELP. (hear that noise? it's Kate and her fans, looking in the dictionary for the word 'lament')
As usual there is one picture of the boys birthday party and several pics for the girls. Even said the boys had cupcakes because their lego cake did not turn out well. Although there are a couple group pictures with everyone, she still shows such favoritism. Somebody could have taken pictures of the boys party as well. This is so sad.
Firefly, you're right. Kate is like a child who needs constant attention. If she can't get positive, she'll still see herself as a winner with the negative. What a freak.
There were times when I thought Jon's image should be removed from the masthead. His recent actions have proven me wrong.
Jon's new show, possible titles:
JON AND LIZ PLUS KIDS
JON AND LIZ PLUS ELEVEN KIDS
YOURS, MINE AND MORE OF MINE
LIZ AND JON PLUS THEIR SPAWN
I don't care about Kate's lame pizza- but I DO care that all of us had a safe and sweet Memorial holiday weekend. I wanted to drop in and say I really appreciated all of the comments here yesterday. (From one Military family to another!)
As for Jon's girlfriends... so what. Good for him. Kart can't land a *single* man to save her life. The handful of guests visiting the home over the years, are typically paid help. There was an article published a long time ago about how hard up Kate Gosselin is-- and how long her bed has been 'Kreider... party of one'!
Guess the fan is begging.
@Kateplusmy8 looking at the pictures from the kids birthday party makes me miss the show even more,please bring it back:) please RT #1 fan!x

Nah, this is just kate sending herself questions that she thinks makes her look more marketable to another network. That's what I think anyway. I highly DOUBT all the asinine questions she gets are from other people. I fully believe she sends most of them to herself (how to make lemonade?? Seriously?? Even a 6-yr-old can do that.)

Again looking at the pictures of the birthday party I notice that there are no adults. I swear Kate has no friends, just Steve. At least we see that the tups have a few friends over for their party. Kudos to Cara and Maddy for doing something special for their birthday, although a bit late. I hate to be a pessimist but the only reason Kate arranged for this little party is because she put her foot in it at the Today interview and had no choice but to do something.
I hope there is some supervision at the pool, although again no adults in the picture.
"Where is every1 today"?= Are my 15 minutes finally up? Am I so boring that I have lost the last of my 6 fans? Wheres all the ass kissing? Helllllllllllllllo....anybody there?
Kate posted pictures of the tups party on her website. Some of the pictures include friends of the children. Did she get permission from their parents to post them online? Or does Kate think it's okay to exploit any child, even if they're not her own?
In the birthday photos Kate says all the kids wanted was to be in that pool since it was so hot and the mothers too. But I did not see one adult woman in any photo. Think the mothers dropped off the kids instead of going into signing confidentiality papers. Plus not that many kids attended. I mean with all the girlfriends Kate has, they have to have kids, right? Wrong.
I agree Steve has arrived because she has to explain an unusual car parked in her driveway when her neighbors drive by and check out the cars parked in the driveway. So it is the Smith Family and that would be Steve and his luggage as they have the SanDiego marathon this weekend, right?
We have so many marathons in PA. Really, so does every city for charities: Breast Cancer, Brain Cancer, etc., so why fly to San Diego?
Yesterday reading these posts was so rewarding and it was a place to be to feel better about losing family members to the Wars and to understand our wounded and their families. We have so much work to do, helping by some small way.
looks like the boys' party was in the garage and the girls were in the apartment above? Kate was with the girls of course and screwed up the boy's cake.
Wonder why Kate had two separate birthday parties like that? Seems like they could at least have been in the same room with the girls..the boys only had two friends, and no cake? Few pictures either. She really does not like them, does she?
May I digress for a moment and tell you about my little potato salad that I made this weekend? I had had a potato salad at a little mom and pop place a few weeks ago that was very good and I tried to recreate it this weekend, and I think I came pretty darned close.
The one I had was called Loaded Potato Salad. You all have probably had that and make it, but boy was this new to me!
I dont have measures for this yet.
With my potato cubes still warm, I drizzled melted butter over them and tossed.
Then I mixed equal parts sour cream with real mayo. (Not Miracle Whip, not fat free mayo etc as I was afraid the flavor additives would overwhelm the sour cream.)
Then added lots of fresh chives and LOTS of crisp crumbled real bacon.
That's all. All the stuff you might use if you were making a 'loaded' baked potato, I tried to put in this potato salad. It was so good, so different! Next time I will go a little heavier on the sour cream and less mayo. I did use fat free sour cream as I cannot tell the difference there. No other seasonings, though.
If anyone out there has a REAL recipe for this, please share. I was just trying to recreate what I had elsewhere, but I am satisfied with the effort so far. Next time I will measure as I go.

All this speculation and over analyzing of a picture Kate posts only makes Kate think the non fans are hanging on her every tweet.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
How right you are and we know Kate reads here faithfully because she makes sure she addresses every point we make, as long as she only has to TALK about it and not do, like, any actual WORK or anything.
Sometimes I come on here and see how we are pulling apart her words and actions and I know she is just not worth it.
On the other hand, I think we are keeping things real on here, especially her lies and her fraud and her continuing child exploitation and because of the public's awareness, Kate does not have a tee-vee show on the backs of her kids. And THAT is a good thing!
I would guess that at some point she has to realize all this negative attention on her psychopathologies, that she seems to crave, has ruined her 'career' as a 'stah'.
... or the other way around... :)
Amouse today: Cause it's Kate Gosselin, she will up-stage the other moms, to look good with the school and the teachers, so the teachers will write nice things about her kids and her. When I was in school, I don't remember most of the kids ever giving the teach anything, the only ones who did were, doing it so their kids grades would change, before final report card, that kind of bribing was going on. They were buying their kids grades and the teachers. Were talking Kate here, who never mentioned doing this before(at least I've never heard her say or do that), Kate does things for a reason, not from the heart.
I see Kate had friends over to work, just short of calling it a pizza work party.
Kids photo op.
Even had the one of the guest make the pizza. or was that purse-boy. I thought Kate did not like otyher people in her kitchen?
Kids sitting watching pizza being made, look: desparately hungry.
Kate putting kids to work on marathon(for pubilicity)
I see a scaled down pool party from last year. How many kids/people last year? 60-70. I counted 5 kids, which means 5 moms. I guess not everyone is a Gosselin fans or wants to sign papers, entering the Gosselin compound, have their cameras taken, so no pics escape the compound, remember only people with professional pic taking allowed and Kates pics, don't want anyone making money off the kids.
So, now Kate has no hired help. So, Kate which is it? A month ago Kate said she had a sitter come 4 1/2 days a week and a cleaning person one day a week and a laundry girl. So who watches the kids, when you go running, trips, and shopping trips? A ghost? Kate keeps changing the line up on hired help, when it suits her.
It may seem weird that there are only 5 kids for 6 birthday kids at the party, but remember, they attend school quite far from home, and most of their friends are probably from school. It probably took pretty committed parents to take those 5 kids to the birthday party.
I looked at her recent blog post on my Google-reader and it is SAD.
There is a picture of the girls with their cake and the caption reads:
"Hannah, Leah and Alexis beam with happiness as they celebrate with their first ever "girls only" cake! (boys had done their cake and icecream, piñata and Lego craft with Cara and adult supervisors by the time I was finished taking pictures upstairs! Geesh!)"
Geesh! kHate, get off your flat orange ass and show those boys just a shred of interest. They are invisible in that house unless she needs someone to blame. What a pathetic excuse of a mother. She makes me angry - I'd like to smack her with a giant lego! grrrr

I must have missed when she purchased a new SUV. What was her reasoning on why she has to get a new one?
&&&&&&&&&&&&
If I am recalling correctly, it somehow came out after she was busted for getting her Audi sports car that she had also traded in the Landcruiser for a used Sequoia. (Wasn't the Audi also "used"?) My guess is it was probably to reduce her monthly payments.
I could be wrong, and am always open to anyone correcting me.
Aggiesmom: Kate just made a lair out of her self all by herself. Kate tweeted that she made her famous pizza, and here is the pic. That is a guy making pizza, unless Kate had a dramatic, sex change over night. That looks like a guy to me.
Not many kids at this years kid party? what was last years, 20-30 kids a total of 70 guests. I counted 5 kids: 3 girls and 2 boys, and only the girls cake came out. So Kate could not bake another or go to the store for a cake? Geez, I hope Kate is not gonna get worse with the boys. The cake thing was too bad, your cake did not come out, probably had to share the girls cake. That is so wrong. Geez, if that happen to me, first it would not even happen to me, cause I would have bought a store cake, a sheet cake and decoratered it. I would have bought 2. Sheet cakes come in various sizes. Kate really does not like her sons much. Must remind her too much of Jon.
Did anyone catch, one of her recent quote tweets: about: ones ex wanting you back and the reason you don't want them back. Kate reasoning is maybe she wants Jon back, Jon does not want her back.

What?!? What on earth was her rationalizing for that?!? Sorry, but haven't read all the comments yet, so maybe there's more to this than I know, but that is totally whacked!
Dwindle - sounds good! No salt or pepper? Maybe the bacon adds enough saltiness. Thanks for sharing.

Negative and positive, every comment is a big ego boost to Kate.
====
Of course it is, she's a narcissist. Even when her name is trending because everyone is ecstatic that she's going away, she's happy.
That shows how mentally disturbed she is. It would be great if she'd address her problem instead of wallowing in self-adoration.

-------
Spring of 2011...She traded in the black one for the newer one (in the garage pic) and her fancy sports car. She only fessed up to it after a tabloid outed her getting out of her audi.
She said it was saving her money and too good to pass up.
Blech.
Dwindle: sounds delish! I will try it! Thanks for sharing the recipe.
Re: adults at party.
In one pool shot , it looks like MAYBE one lone adult is sitting by the pool in a light blue T shirt and khaki shorts and flip-flops, behind one of the girls' guests. The face is hidden. But the body language spells boredom! Hardly being pampered.
And it is ridiculous the favoritism to the girls. The boys were in the garage ( with the broken door?) and no one but Cara around? Kate did say adult supervision for the pinata, so why couldn't that person snap a photo or two?
Did they get to eat their cupcakes- if the cake did not turn out well, did someone hurriedly buy store bought (gasp) cupcakes for the icky boys and their two pals?
Guys: if you look at the pool pics, one of the pics, there are moms in the lounge chairs, there faces are blocked by the kids, who are standing in front of them. I wonder if why there are so few kids, this year as compared to last year is that, maybe nobody wanted to sign papers, or not bring cameras on to the compound. Perhaps, because of Kates actions, her kids are getting the results, and are not that well liked in school. which I would truely feel sorry for the kids, they are innocent victums of their deranged/delutional mother.
Their bday pics are a far cry from Kate's glory days with TLC!
Looks like the girls had 5 guests, the boys, two. Well, sometimes kids schedules are busy. And with that many kids celebrating, I am sure they were only allowed to invite one or two (at the most) to keep the parties manageable. I don't blame Kate in that regard. (If you have 6 bday kids, and each invited 4 friends and they all showed up, that's 30 kids...!)
The decorations were a bit on the simple side even for someone 'mediocre', but at least it was mom-done and kid approved!
I didn't see one adult...I bet the moms weren't allowed to attend. I know when my kids attended parties I generally liked them to leave, so I could supervise and manage the kids...if not, you are trying to entertain kids AND parents, and that sometimes gets a little dicey.
I hope she had a lifeguard or someone capable monitoring the swimming pool.
I hate that they boy's cake didn't turn out well, and it looks like Kate made the girl's cake..it looked mom-made to the best of her abilities, so Kate, you get a thumbs up for giving your kids a TLC-free party. Even though she put it on the internet, it's baby steps...
I didn't go to KKs website to look at the BD party pix, but hearing that there were no adults visible at the pool really bothers me. Sadly, yesterday, a local 7 year old girl drowned. There were a number of adults around the pool, but she slipped under the water and was unresponsive when she was pulled out. She died at the hospital. It only takes a minute, and lives are tragically changed forever. PLEASE KK, if you do read here, PLEASE be more responsible about supervising your kids and their visitors.
