This young fresh-faced blonde looks nothing like Kate. And Jon has been divorced for almost 3 years now, time to give up that ghost.
There is nothing sustainable about a reality tv career. Especially one that was based on the cuteness of six toddlers. Kate has a niche, it is called nursing, she best try to find a job in that field.

Sunshine said... 2

This is such a normal interview. Kate Gosselin should take lessons from this video on how to be interviewed. I wish Jon the best.

koopdedoo said... 3

I had avoided seeing this clip until now.

Definitely an audition tape for a reality show.

It would be interesting to know if Inside Edition filmed all of it, or if Jon & Liz brought a tape of "their life" to the interview.

Sorry kids, you are doomed by stupid, greedy parents.

KAT said... 4

Wow... she's a complete idiot. Yah...someone new to hate!!!!!!!!!!

Buddy said... 5

I'm sorry, I don't think Jon is a bad person, but he seems very childlike and naive. What was the purpose of doing this interview? To me it looks like he is trying to position himself in the public eye again for some reason. And why all the PDA on national TV? With Jon and Kate, there are always ulterior motives for these interviews. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I just wish for their kids' sakes that they both grow up and finally take responsibility for raising these kids without help from the public or without exploiting the kids. I think I might be waiting a long time for that.

Mrs. Malaprop said... 6

She does look a lot like Kate. Hope she's a nicer person!

barbee said... 7

good to see that kate didn't teach jon her speaking talents. didn't hear an ummmm in there at all. not too sure how 'genuine' his new lady friend is, seems pretty 'glammified' and like she is a bit into the noteriety.

Dmasy said... 8

All of the speculation was from the interviewer -- she mentioned the "new" show several times. She asked about the possibility of marriage and another baby. Seems to me that Jon and Liz said no, not now, and way too soon.

They seemed normal and (oh horrors!) average.

Maybe I will watch again to see if I missed something completely earth shattering.

Gift of grab said... 9

I totally do not get the point of this. I think it was a huge mistake on Jon's part. Makes him look like the greedy, grabbing grifter that he used to be, and that his ex still is. I hope he keeps a low profile going forward.

Dmasy said... 10

Gift of Grab, 8 -- you posted my thoughts. Why? They aren't paid -- right? No remarkable content. Fairly new relationship. He has been out of the news. I don't think I understand why Inside Edition would consider this a ratings buster interview.

But, I have to say that Jon seems like a much more content and balanced person than Kate does.

Dmasy said... 11

Oh dear. She just tweeted that her couch overlooking the pool seems mundane (Nice word, Kate.) and average. Don't know what tweet to her provoked the comparison to someone else. She must not be sitting on the leather couch.

A clue to how she watches the kids swimming...

Gift of grab said... 12

But, Dmasy, I don't think "content and balanced" people feel the need to go on TV to talk about their new relationship. KATE would, and does, but I had hoped Jon was past this. That he was seriously concentrating on a real career, not the "reality TV" track that he told Kate on film 9 months ago was not real life. If he had something legit to promote, like his book (if he in fact is doing one), that's one thing. But going on with the new GF to talk about their relationship--or, God forbid, a new reality SHOW? Ugh.

Meanwhile, back at the Konpound, Katie just can't keep her fingers off her phone this morning. She's so full of herself it makes me want to hurl.

I don't understand why this interview was necessary.

My concern is with my dear dog right now.
She was not her happy, go lucky self yesterday (pacing,
occasionally panting, and generally appears uncomfortable).
Today, she is having difficulty walking (her hind legs are wobbly).
The poor little soul owns a huge chunk of my heart, and I'm
scared for her.

Cocoa has a 10:30am appt. with the vet.
Please say a little prayer for her?

Watched the clip one time, here's my gut reaction:

When asked about a show for Jon and Liz, Liz looked a little coy, grinned, made some eye movements, moved her head around a bit and then said, "no'. Didn't seem believable to me.

I counted one 'um' for each of them, lol.

Everyone asks, why was he interviewed, why was Kate on Today?
I am certainly no tv exec, but I would think that is the work of their pr people. Doesn't matter if they have anything 'in the works', to me it just means they have the pr machine working.

Jon's response to how things are going now..sorta creeped me out. He said "I want MORE." Yes, we ALL want to be successful, etc., but I thought his word selection was strange.

IF they get a reality show, that would really cook Kate's beans, lolololol. (BUT, NO KIDS!!)
Even though her child support would hit the stratosphere, she'd be pissed cuz Jon was on tv and she wasn't...and that's what she truly wants. It ain't happening, Katie!

Gift of grab said... 16

Oh Pink, so sorry to hear it. Will be thinking of you and Cocoa. Good luck.

Once a Viewer said... 17

Back to an earlier tweet: what's so 'attitudey' about mailing a letter??

I think Liz looks nice, not too much like Kate, and a genuine mediocre person. Who knows if this will last? Jon admitted to wanting 'more' but it was the interviewer who mentioned all the potential names for reality shows/ Not gonna happen IMO.

Doesn't the children's privacy mean anything to these fans? They feel that they are entitled to know everything about them as they are growing up. This nutjob, miloandjack tweeted that they are missing Mady's conversations! What in the (bleep) is wrong with them...

miloandjack
@Kateplusmy8 See we are missing all this cute convo of Mady...the kids growin up so fast...how they interacted w/each other! New show COME!

I don't know if she has kids, but would she want the whole internet world to know all of their "cute" conversations? On second thought, this is a crazy sheeple, so there's the answer right there.

=============

Yes, she has several--two, I think. They're pretty young by the few things she's said. (I get the impression they're close to the twins' ages or a little older.) Milo says REMARKABLY little about them considering all the personal information she wants on the Gosselin children.

Dmasy said... 20

Even with her kids, she is making up words. "Attitudey". I guess they are used-to-it-ish.

Once a Viewer said... 21

Oh, and about the couch that I guess Kate thinks is not really 'mundane' but wanted to let people know about it- would she dive off it to save a child?

I recall her saying to the tups before their traditional pool party , age 7, that they had to swim with a buddy, they were too young to go alone like M and C (age 10 then) What?? Also one boy said Joel was afraid of water so I figure he can't swim well- very dangerous if that's her safe swimming arrangement.

I think Ms Kreider is still boring. I am not interested in who Jon is dating, hope they enjoy each others company and spend time with their own kids.
I really want to talk about what everyone is planning for the Memorial Day holiday and weekend! And what is everyone planning to fix for any special picnics? I come to this site for fun posts and cooking tips and terrific snark!
re snark: Phillip Phillips won American idol on Wednesday while looking like an unmade bed and with a hospital bracelet on his left arm if anyone noticed during the first song. Poor kid has kidney problems with recurrent stones and has to have surgery this week. People who have had kidney stones and given birth say the pain from kidney stones is much worse than labor pains. I think Phillip deserved to win just for the amount of pain he went thru, postponing his surgery until after the finale. (hey, tmz says its so, so it must be true!) Phillips perseverance and determination in the face of serious illness is inspiring. Much more so than being gestational carrier for six at one time.

The girlfriend looks nothing like Kate...Kate is (or at least was--before all the plasticity) much prettier.

Merc said... 27

Liz looks kinda "hard" to me. Like she's been around the block a few times. There is something about her that leads me to believe she has ulterior motives in all this.

I hope I'm wrong.

Oh, those poor children. My faith in Jon is waning and we KNOW Kate's a mess.

Layla said... 29

I am very wary of these sudden media appearances by both Jon and Kate. It looks like they're both trying to get noticed for...something. They both got a taste of the good life, and they both liked it, and it looks like they both want it back. Even when Kate was on K+8, I think Jon got a small salary (I remember hearing 5K per month, does that ring a bell with anyone else?). He is now mising that extra cash, and Kate is missing her gold mine. They want it back.
What is scary about all this is that they obviously never intended to provide for all those kids on their own. That is so irresponsible! I have a large family, and we planned for how we were going to provide for each and every child before making the decision to have/adopt another. We owe it to each child to make sure that their needs were met.
Jon and Kate want big money. The kind of money they can only get from TV. They both seem to think they HAVE to work in the media to provide for their kids. But what if the media doesn't want them? What if nobody wants to throw millions of dollars at them for simply being themselves? Then...what? Are we to believe the whole family ends up in poverty, living on public assistance because the parents refuse to do an honest days' work? They are shameful. And shameless.

Kate is Krazy said... 30

Kate has lifted the "penalty of severeness!" Clears paperwork off her bed to make room for the kids!

Virginia Pen Mom said... 31

IF Jon and Liz get a reality show (all about the blending of 8 with 3 more, how two divorcees cope, etc.), can you imagine how Kate would react? I sincerely hope they don't. I want to believe that Jon won't put the kids back on TV again. On the other hand, 8 kids are expensive, and he is probably getting a real good look at that now. Presumably, Kate took all (or most) of the show's proceeds.

Don't get me wrong! I think a reality show is stupid idea for anyone--and I think having 8 multiples when you have no idea how you'll pay for them is beyond reckless. I'm just saying IF it happens, Kate will be FURIOUS. He has more of a chance at it than she does--unless she and Purse Boy come out of the closet.

And the P.S. to this is, if Jon does do it, any little respect or hope I have for him and the kids will be gone.

Pink--prayer said for Cocoa. I hope the vet can get to the bottom of it and she'll be fine soon.

Joy in Virginia -- yes, what is everyone doing for Memorial Day?

Yesterday, hubby and I (with the help of a hard-working teen) laid sod. That is a really dirty job, by the way. We had to dig up a large portion of the back yard to solve some drainage issues.

Mature landscaping was destroyed at the same time. Hubby on backhoe -- some of the destruction was MAYBE unnecessary. (A debate that got a bit testy!)

We wanted all the raw ground covered in green before the weekend guests.

Some of hubby's smoked meat is on the menu. It will smell good outside all day

With just over a week to go until her race, I am surprised that she doesn't have more to say about her training.

################################

Here we are, at the end of May, and Kate's just now sheduled to run her first 1/2 marathon of the year--not a full, because she's working on her timing, she says.

Given that she's also planning to run 3 more half-marathons this year, plus a full, and all the charity events in between, I'm with Dmasy in wondering how/when she's fitting in those practice runs, and am curious about her training schedule overall.

I'm not a runner, so I'd love to hear from someone who is.

Pink - hope everything turns out ok! Let us know how it goes.

This week our cat Mercy couldn't walk, and I was fearing the worst. She's a stray that took up residence in our garage four years ago. I didn't want her at the time and tried to find a place for her to go. But she's the best cat we've ever had - very "talkative" and friendly. I was so worried about her. As it turns out, she has a broken hip. We don't know what happened. There are no external injuries, so who knows? She has to stay in a big dog crate for six weeks, and the vet said she should heal and be fine. I've been carrying her around for an hour or so every day to give her some time out of the crate. Stupid cat that I didn't want! : )

Improbable Dreams, 31 ... First, I am not a runner. Just no motivation or desire for that particular "punishment".

The reason I wondered is because my son is preparing for his first full marathon. He is 18 weeks, 2 days, X hours ... away. I am subscribed to the update posts for his training. He is running the Loch Ness Marathon in Scotland. He is planning for everything. It is a commitment.

She seems so casual in comparison.

Khate can fake cheer and excitement, even almost caring, on twitter; but even there she still can't hide her rampant narcissism.

As for the kid's cards, didn't look but what were you expecting? She probably stood over them, or made Mady and Cara, making sure they were wonderful enough. And why would any court of law force her to not post photos or scans of them online? Millions of mums do that, and it in no way demeans the kids or their dad.

I think the super suddenly skinny Collin pic and twitter "discussion" was much worse. He went from always being the biggest or second biggest and now looks to weigh less than all of the other sextuplets.

Pink- I wonder if Cocoa has an urinary tract infection? That sounds like a possibility. My friend's dog had similar symptoms and that is what it turned out to be. Praying for good news!

I think the interview was silly. What was the point of showing her with a curling iron and Jon awkwardly standing behind her in the bathroom?

Improbable Dreams said... 43

Dmasy~I wish your son all the best on his marathon. And whether or not he slings a camera around his neck, I hope he sends his mama some pictures. :)

As to his training log, I think that's one way Kate could "give back," could help motivate the Marathon Mamas who follow her blog/Twitter feed. She could offer up her training schedule, and perhaps also a food diary. This might help build her credibility and fan base. Just a thought.

My Black Lab just had a second ultrasound to monitor some spots seen on her spleen and liver and nothing has changed, so that's good news. We'll have to get another ultrasound in 3 months to monitor, but so far it doesn't seem related to a cancerous growth removed from her chin recently.

Honestly, how old will her parentifed twins be when they realize just how low her level of social maturity is - 12 ? Her mothering skills are appaling, her recognition of same equally so.

But narcissistic poems - delightful. Thx for sharing.

Also wish Jon woud stay off the screen, but he, at least, is articulate, and does not tweet non-stop about the children. Oh right, he has a JOB.

I don't understand the interview either. Why can't Jon find a person who shuns the limelight? Why would this woman put herself out there on a tabloid show? Odd. I got the feeling this will be another short relationship for Jon. I wonder what he is searching for?

I just don't understand why any woman who dates Jon would want to go public and allow herself to be scrutinized and gossiped about. Just like Kate, Jon could use some therapy with his constant need for a girlfriend.

Merc said... 47

I used to think the gap between Jon and Kate was vast. Lately he's closing in on her.

What happened? He went from giving what he said would be his last interview to THIS? Between the book, the interviews and his "undecided" stance on filming the kids again it's looking more and more like he is selling out.

We have cut him lots of slack, forgiven him for his antics during/after the divorce and made excuses for him when things haven't been quite kosher.

Am I the only one who sees this decline?

She apologized to Kate and has now returned to the sheeple barnyard. Too funny!

I'm wary of Jon and Liz doing this fluff interview. There is no reason at all to have done this other than to get back in the media. I don't care if Jon's "people/person" told him to do a tv appearance or two. It's just crap.
Crap to trot out his relationship with another girlfriend. Crap to stage phony kissy, touchy scenarios while walking down the median of a very busy street in Center City Philly, crap to even put forth this very short term (so far) relationship on tv, where his kids can see it, and talk about their kids.
I mean, I have to be fair here. I get on Kate's case for using her kids for fodder, and this is just what Jon has done.
Do the kids' friends and classmates need to know about their father's love life and that their doing a "Yours, Mine and Ours" thing? And, since this relationship is so new, it's more than enough, if not inappropriate at this point, to introduce the new lady in Jon's life to the kids, let alone her spawn.
On the bright side, maybe they get to play with some kids besides their siblings... transient as it probably is.

Pink,

Healing thoughts going out to Cocoa! Hopefully it's nothing serious.

What kind of dog is Cocoa? Our baby was a wire-haired dachshund.

But if I can make a cyber diagnosis (forgive my presumption!!!) it sounds like disc disease, maybe ruptured or bulging disc. Pain and weakness in back end are hallmark signs/symptoms. It's serious and needs quick attention like you are doing.

Our precious baby had this, very acute onset, sounds like Cocoa. If this is it, please look up dodgerslist.yahoogroups.com. It is a very, very helpful group for this problem. They provide advice and much needed support.

I couldn't have gotten through the event without them.

IVDD (intervertebral disc disease) is a painful, sometimes chronic condition that requires close attention. Meds are available to control the pain and inflammation. There are two approaches to care: surgical and conservative. Both work in most cases.

If this is problem, maybe ADMIN can put us in touch via email so I can share our story with you and offer you support off this blog.

Please keep us in the loop! Hugs to you and Cocoa :-)

I think the interview was an attempt to rehab Jon's image as far as the cheater/womanizer. Kate did a good job of pretending she was in the marriage and cheated on, and that purse full of bills sob story really made him look despicable. So I am guessing the PR machine is gearing up to position Jon for some book sales soon.
As for Kate, does she have any clue how stupid it is to promote an ap that tells people to browse around a store but buy the item online? That is a sure fire way of putting the bricks and mortar stores out of business, and when they go they take jobs, tax payments and all the things that sustain communities. She is so Walmart. She just doesn't get it.

he recommended that I take her to a veterinary specialist.

Call Me Crazy, anything is possible with our chow hounds. One of our first thoughts was that maybe she ate something in the backyard: moss, weeds,etc...
But she has not been vomiting, or had diarrhea. She still has an appetite, and is drinking water. Her stomach is not "tight", or bloated as well. Pt.2 coming up....

I can give you the name of a great cart maker if it comes to that.

As for Jon, I give up. He's a hypocrite. He's stated he wants out of the public life and he goes on a tabloid show with his third or fourth girlfriend to give a completely inane and unnecessary interview. As my malaprop-ish husband would say, it's time to give up the goat.

That looks awesome! I need the recipe! What kind of water do you use? Sierra Springs (Monk's favorite), Aquafina, Deer Park...do tell! Do you use ice to chill the water? Do you buy the ice, or use it ready made from the ice maker in your Sub-Zero? What if I don't have a Sub-Zero? Should I grift for one?

Do you squeeze the lemon or just throw it in there? Is it better if I just twist the lemons? Should this be stirred or shaken? Do you quarter or half the lemon? Does it taste the same if you use a glass, or must this be made in a Keurig cup? Is the plastic cup organic?

Where do I find organic lemons? Are they more expensive than non-organic lemons? Will this recipe be in your new cookbook?

By the way, Kate, if you are going to grift @Keurig, you should spell it correctly! After all, it IS your favorite!

First let me say that I have always felt supportive of Jon as he tried (or should have) stand up to his abusive mentally ill wife, and provide love and care for his children.

But I dont get the point of this interview. Jon looked fake and forced, trying WAY too hard to show "Look who I'm banging now and I cant stop grinning about it!", it was just gross. The girlfriend is probably a very nice person, what was her angle in doing this, other than to plaster on all that makeup?

You got all these interviews and the mysterious gosselinbook lingering and something is up. And it feels all kinds of wrong.

I wish Jon wouldnt have done this interview and I cant fathom what he was thinking. If he had married the girl somewhere quietly and wanted to do brief subdued interview to announce it, I could see that. But his grinning and groping and kissing was phony and forced and he was trying to make a point.

Yuck.

What alerted him that this is a muscular/back problem was when he performed a paw test. Usually, when you flatten a dog's paw, it will quickly go back to it's normal position.
When a dog is having issues with a disc, or muscles, the paw stays flattened.
Strange, huh?

Tweet-le De, Cocoa will be 4 years old this August. Pt. 3 coming up....

I think the super suddenly skinny Boy C pic and twitter "discussion" was much worse. He went from always being the biggest or second biggest and now looks to weigh less than all of the other sextuplets.

I think the trouble I have in judging Jon fairly is that he seems like such a nice guy. He's unassuming, kind and would probably be easy to talk to. It's hard not to feel sorry for him after the abuse he suffered during his marriage.

I want him to be the person who saves those children. Yet as I see his recent choices playing out, I am wondering if he's not just a nicer version of Kate.

Hi! I lurk mostly, but have commented a few times. I think it has been speculated that Jon couldn't do Amy media while he was under contract with TLC... So that, combined with Ellen, may have kept him content at that point in time... This woman seems like she wants a reality show; Ellen did not. I hope that Jon is not so easily influenced...

Our threat of frost in my area is finally over so time to get my plants planted. Got my chives done this morning, 2 different kinds of basil (Genovese and Purple), scads of scallions. Taking an iced tea break, then will plant my ONE zucc plant and my tomato plants. My tomatoes have been good little troopers (troupers?) waiting for their final planting, full of blossoms already and all I have been doing is ignoring them!

Since I am so AMAZING!!!! I will send you all pics of dirt, shovels, and far away blurry plants and then ask for ongoing inspirational quotes to support me in my exhaustedishness for the next 4 days. I may need to take to my bed for the rest of the weekend when I am done. My daughter and son in law are away at a B&B but I might have to demand that she comes to attend her mama and message me.

Please commence now with telling me how AMAZING I am so I can repost the nice things you say about me.

Oh and there is a left over piece of last night's pepperoni chicken in the fridge, maybe I will hang from the ceiling fan and take a pic of that for you too! I know you have all been DEMANDING it! Once I post it, I expect to hear SCREECHES OF DELIGHT at my tireless efforts or I will be forced to bombard your tee-vees with paid adverts of my face setting the record straight about how misunderstood I am. If you want to make the nightmare end, you will have to send me gift cards.

thank you and have a nice day!

I have always supported Jon but I was disappointed that he did the interview too. It was totally unnecessary. He didn't mention his forthcoming book and I wonder why this new girlfriend agreed to do an interview. Hmmm..

My only explanation for why Jon continues to make poor choices is because he was mentally abused by Kate. I predict this new ''relationship'' won't last either. Jon's ego needs to be stroked a lot and the minute she calls him out or says something even remotely reminds him of Kate, he'll be heading for the door again.

I know some may think he needs to ''man up'' but mental abuse can scar a person for life, and no amount of therapy will REALLY take it away. There are many steps to go through and some will succeed and some won't.

Jon seems to be a good Father, but I've never heard about the boys playing T-Ball or soccer or anything. That doesn't mean they don't, but since he doesn't discuss his kids we will never know. We do know that Kate certainly wouldn't give him credit for it if he did.

Sheri said... 75

I watched the video, okay the first 40 seconds or so and I did not get a good vibe about the new girlfriend. It does seem like it's a lot of posturing about nothing. What was the point?

Pink, positive thoughts for your Cocoa and hope it's nothing serious. We just had a scare with Daughter's 6 month old kitten. Two days at the vet, x-rays and a huge bill later...turns out the little monkey ate some bits of elastic and they got stuck in her intestines. She finally passed them though and is back to her usual obnoxiously adorable self. It's tough when our furriends get sick. All the best.

Purple Skies said... 76

Jon has a book coming out and this interview gave him some exposure for that purpose. Beyond that justification, why can't Jon be seen in the media? How does that make him a less credible person? He is not into the exploitation of his children and did not degrade Kate...nor did his girlfriend.

Perhaps Jon got paid for the interview and that income will help him financially in his child support payments. Also, he does commendably have a respectable job vs. being a full-time greedy grifter.

You're right.

Jon needs therapy, too. He is incapable of being single and throws himself into new relationships before he's had time to get over the one before.

It's wonderful to have a spouse or mate. But if you're doing it because you're incapable of being happy alone there is a problem.

I hold out no hope for Kate ever getting the help she needs. Jon? I think it's possible. Not probable, but certainly possible.

Bringing over from other thread:
I  hesitated about posting this because I remember that some posters participate in Rock n Roll marathons. I was curious about the charities/nonprofits that donations go to. Wouldn't you know--

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_'n'_Roll_Marathon_Series#Foundation_controversy

"Foundation controversy

In 2008, the Competitor Group took over Elite Racing, the company that had been organizing the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon. The following year, 2009, an internal audit revealed that the charity in whose name the race had been run, Elite Racing Foundation for Children, Education & Medical Research, had been improperly commingling funds with the for-profit Elite Racing. It further found that the foundation was being operated "in many instances for the benefit of the for-profit,” and that the charity's role in hosting the races had been overstated. As a result, the race had benefited improperly from hundreds of thousands of dollars in public subsidies and grants. In announcing the results of the audit, Competitor said it would return $190,500 to San Diego County and $152,544 to the city of San Diego, spend the remaining foundation funds on health and wellness causes, file amended tax returns, and dissolve the foundation.[3][4] Competitor Group made the final payments in October 2009. Altogether the company returned $344,176 to the city and county.[5]"

There is a lot that is fishy, but it is really difficult to explain the red flags. One example that can be understood is that in 2009, the foundation received $42, 500 in grants and only distributed $2,520.00 in grants and services for educational and medical research. After reviewing, my guess is that the IRS found that  $600,000 was pledged to foundation but never paid--improperly funneling revenues to the for profit corporation to avpoid taxation. The foundation president, Peter Englehart, is also the CEO of Competitor Group, the corporation that runs the marathons and the non-profit.

The Rock N Roll website now lists 10 charities that allegedly will benefit. No proof exists that any donation will ever be made, and, it has  already been proven that they have been unethical. If the donations are actually paid with real money--not phony IOUs--the corporation will take the tax deduction that was paid by the runners.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade because it sounds like fun.  That company seems to have come up with an event format that appeals to many runners. But, if anyone is doing it for charity, it is safer to donate directly to your favorite cause.

Even when Kate was on K+8, I think Jon got a small salary (I remember hearing 5K per month, does that ring a bell with anyone else?).
__________
That was speculation. Since Jon confirmed that his child support was $22,000 while under contract, he had to have been drawing a salary of at least $660,000 (PA child support is limited to 40% of income). If the child support was calculated on disposable income (after taxes and other deductions), his income may have been higher. Non-compete clauses are common in business contracts. Jon was being compensated for that non-compete, which prohibited him from working in the entertainment industry, in any capacity. We will probably never know whether this was negotiated after Jon had a change of heart about the show, or whether this was part of his original contract . The buzz was that he was shut down by TLC, but there may have been a settlement.

==============

We already had four cats, so when a stray gave birth under the rocks in our yard, I told my kids that there was no way we were taking in any more kittens. It was winter, and cold, and when the mother cat left with all but one, I agreed to let the baby stay in the garage until we found a home for her. That lasted about a day. My daughter wanted to "foster" her by keeping the kitten in her room until she got used to people.

That fostered kitten is now three years old, sleeps on my pillow every night and is the boss of the menagerie.

My son heard a kitten meowing in a dumpster at a mall. That little one also sleeps in our bed (it's a crowded bed). For some reason, our kids are magnets for strays. I never know when one is going to show up (an animal, not a kid), but there has to come a time when I say, "NO!" The time just hasn't come yet!

Pink, thanks for reporting back about Cocoa.
My Bichon had a herniated disc about 3 1/2 years ago. One morning, the dogs went out for their morning business and when Bichon came in, he was limping with both back legs. It was obvious to me that it was neurologic so DH took him to the vet right away.
Bichone was put on pain reliever, muscle relaxer and anti-inflammatory and we were told that perhaps he could get past the injury conservatively, but to watch him closely and go to the specialist/surgeon if there was no improvement or he worsened.
We took him to a specialist about 5 days later and bing, bang, boom! he got a neurology consult, an MRI and surgery by the afternoon. It was a left T13, L1 herniation and we felt he could handle the surgery and rehabilitation after, even though we was 11 1/2 at the time and has Cushing's Syndrome.
Bichon is still plugging along and going to be 15 very shortly. I would spend the money and ask him to go through it all over again for being able to have him walk again!
Good luck, keep a close eye on Cocoa, watch that the weakness/paralysis doesn't worsen and that bowel and bladder function is intact. You can also sling a towel under her belly to help her walk and relieve herself if she has a lot of difficulty mobilizing.

Hello Anad!

I agree with everything you said, especially about Ellen. She seems wise beyond her years. I really think she kept Jon on the straight and narrow and helped him stay classy. They never appeared in an interview together (not that I remember, anyway) and the few that he did were spot on and no frills.

This IE interview gave me a quick, cringeworthy flashback to all the silly things he used to pull before Ellen. The 'no filming' sign at the fence, all the arranged pap shoots of he and Hailey in NYC, the photos of him drinking Starbucks in Target while looking at Kate's last book.... and I could go on. Then Ellen came along and save for a couple pictures of them with the kids, it all stopped. I get the feeling that after working back in the real world, being back in the public eye doesn't look so bad after all. He has 8 kids to support, I completely understand if that's the case. I'm sure he'll keep the kids out of it as he is already doing. I just hope & pray he keeps the cheese factor out of it.

Jumping In said... 112

I found the interview to be both contrived and unnecessary. I think it is very odd to go public with a relationship that is just 4 months old. Their combined 11 children are far too young to see their respective parent falling all over someone they have had very little exposure to themselves. And why, at 4 months would you allow, even as a hook, a phony promo based on the old model of Jon and Kate Plus 8. Just dumb.

The irony is that it came across as a thinly veiled pitch for a show with all 3 of them (Jon, Kate and Liz) and that they may all have talked about "behind the scenes" already. What if and I know this is a big IF, they are thinking about collaborating for the sake of the children (OF COURSE) who "want to go here and there", and "miss the crew". The side benefit to the parents would be a huge influx of cash, and a shot at fame again for Kate, and to a lessor extent Jon and the newcomer Liz! But, remember this is about the kids, not them ;-)

THIS show would feature Jon and Liz in a new, bigger house, not as big as Kate's but big, with her 3 kids. Kate's side of the show would feature the organic, highly regimented, orderly household, and when the kids are shuttled off to Jon (camera crew in tow) they are featured in a relaxed, hot-dog eating, ketchup staining environment. This show would be filmed strictly on weekends where Kate has them one day, and Jon with Liz and her 3 the next.

The reasons behind my cynicism are: 1.) There was no point to the interview with them whatsoever. 2.) It was awfully close to Kate's 2 interviews. 3.) It was very odd for him to be asked about his financial situation. 4.) This Liz person looks like SHE is ready for her 15 minutes.

Pardon my skepticism, but something smells odd to me all around. Perhaps Jon feels filming without Kate in his frame may be ok for the kids and his bank account. With them, you never know.

Tucker's Mom,

Sounds like you went through the same thing we did with our Roxie. The surgery was what she needed and we did it. Like you, the exam, the MRI and right into surgery. Never regretted it for a moment.

DH felt horrible seeing her in pain during the recovery but she was well medicated and I tried to comfort him by saying she's getting better and the gabapentin, tramadol and valium was keeping her comfortable.

We carried her out to potty for about two weeks and hand fed her like she was a queen. Well, LOL, she was a Queen.

She was paralyzed after the surgery (sometimes normal reaction) for about two weeks until the nerve insult abated but the sling worked wonders. She actually tried to walk but had to be happy with just bearing weight for a week or so.

It was money well spent and gave us two more wonderful years with her. Tucker, I'm glad you still have your Bichon. A tad spoiled, no doubt?!

Regarding Jon's interview. I don't understand the need to go on TV to talk about a new girlfriend; it just doesn't make sense to me. Is he trying to get back on TV? I honestly don't know, but it seems unnecessary to me to announce a new relationship on TV. I can't explain why, but it bothers me that his new girlfriend would agree to this unless she was also looking for a little limelight for herself. It just doesn't make sense, any of it.

Now, onto a more exciting subject - my daughter and my grandsons are on their way here and should arrive in about 2 hours! What a blessed holiday weekend I'm going to have!

May all of you hava a safe and happy holiday!

&&&&&&&&&&&&

Nope. Missed that one. I saw Kate tweeting away to "Kuerig" and missed her lemonaide. Miss Perfect Speller screwed up two words in one tweet. Thanks for pointing it out! :) My spoof was about the water with lemon, but I figured it wouldn't take long for someone to ask for a recipe for lemonade.

I'm waiting for a recipe request for sliced organic tomatoes, and if they need to be cut horizontally or vertically.

Honestly, I just shake my head at the stupidity of these people. In all seriousness, are there any sheeple who have just a little bit upstairs, or is a low IQ one of the prerequisites needed to become a member of the flock? Where would they place on the WAIS-IV, or wouldn't they even make it to the scale?

Auntie Ann -- Next time you take your cat to the vet, ask about having his thyroid levels checked. Hyperthyroidism can make cats VERY vocal. Also, if he's an older cat, sometimes senility causes them to be more vocal than in the past. They can be furry tyrants, though, can't they? I used to have a queen who would come get me and stand over me supervising if she thought the litter pan needed cleaning (i.e. if someone had been in it before her, even if it had just been changed). She'd put on her bossy voice and squeak and squawk at me until it was clean enough to pass her inspection. The girl I have now yells when she wants her dinner, but she's normally pretty quiet except for having a purr that can be heard all over the house.

PHOENIXVILLE — Renaissance Academy Charter School is preparing to host its second annual golf outing fundraiser and is getting some publicity help from a former reality TV show
Jon Gosselin, known for the show “Jon & Kate Plus 8” about his twins and sextuplets, is not only promoting the upcoming event, but is also scheduled to participate.
The golf outing will be held May 31 at Spring-Ford Country Club. Money raised during the outing will be used for the school’s new campus at Franklin Commons.
Renaissance Academy staff members said Gosselin’s connected with the school because he has done work with Omega Systems. Omega Systems is the computer system used at the school.
Gosselin has promoted the golf outing on WMMR 93.3 during the Preston and Steve Show

My baby Guppies are almost 2 months old, they are now half an inch long. They come up to the top when I come by the tank, like a school of fish now. They serf by the filter(I have one of the older in tank plastic filters, where you put the charcoal on the bottom then the cotton filter stuff on top, insert the air stone), they swim into the current and then drift with the bubbles. Surfing. They fight, play and fish do sleep. I shut their light off and they settle down usually on the botton and don't move. I found this out when I turned on the big light and they did not run up to the top to greet me.

Once a viewer: Jon had mention, that he was gonna do a school charity thing a while ago. Kate just has to say the same to up-stage him, like she always does.

Pink, I am hopeful for little Cocoa. I have been through this with both my little bichon and our doxie. It seems one final sail off the couch (or something) did it for them. What gives me hope is that Cocoa is not getting worse and has full function of bowels/bladder and can walk a little. Our bichon was the same and the doxie was completely paralyzed in the backside (but still had bowel/bladder control) and they both recovered completely with rest and pain meds. They did always have back issues though, but never like that. (Very familiar with the paw test at this house.) Fingers crossed and prayers said that Cocoa has the same outcome. If it's the same diagnosis, the hardest part will be keeping the dog quiet for 6 weeks and then no jumping for the rest of his/her life (yeah right)!

Thanks for keeping us posted!

I think Jon is looking for redemption in the media.I can't blame him.kate made him look like shit.He is just an average guy trying to get by.I would want to get my side out there too. If its by interviews...books...blogs...ect. I couldnt just let it go and I can understand how Jon cant either.

We must be looking at different pictures.

The Liz *I* saw looked hard, and about 44 years old.

The type to have multiple kids with different fathers, take welfare (only when she ;) needed it) and seek fame by proxy. The type to encourage Jon to set the record straight by telling his side of the story, when her true intention is fame for herself.

There is nothing fresh faced or innocent looking about this sketchy woman.

Who could look at that interview and see this person as in any way soft or fresh?

@Kateplusmy8 hey ms. kate how you doin this evening do you have any old potty training tips and lose the binky tip too. thanks a bunch

----------------------------

Oh, Kate has great potty training tips. You make sure a camera crew is there to film all of it; you set the potties all over the house and in a driveway, and you turn the light out on one of your children who has a problem on the potty, leaving him alone in a dark room with a crew member. Then you film the child running away with his behind exposed. Finally, make sure you take photos of the first poops. Kids love that, especially when they are teens and you can show the photos to all of their friends.

LoveMyGrandsons said... 170

Pink, that was so sweet of you to thank everyone individually. To take that time shows all the kind of person you are.

Starz22, I respectfully disagree with your opinion. There was no point or purpose to this interview except to be on TV. After a 2 year relationship with Ellen, what is the point of going on TV to say you are now dating someone else for 4 months? If I got divorced and started dating someone else, would that really be newsworthy? I don't think so.

It's late here and my boys arrived safe and sound, and now they are all tucked in. I am so blessed by the Lord and I know it. May He bless all of you, too.

Today dh and I got off work early enough we could cut the grass. Then we went to a great venue Ashland (Virginia) Coffee and Tea which had a great little concert venue, their listening room. There we saw The Steel Wheels, a terrific band that does americana/ bluegrass/ folk / gospel flavored original songs. Check then out at www.thesteelwheels.com
Oh, the streek wheels refer to their bicycles. They are all cyclists and take their bikes with them on tour. They will bee in Pennsylvania next week, go see them if you can.
First time I ever saw the Avett Brothers was at Ashland C&T. They were great, lots of energy and emotion and skilled musicians who did a blistering set. The steel wheels remind me of the Avetts. The band have banjo, mandolin, violin, stand up bass, and three of them play guitar. They will bee at the Ocracoke Folk Festival next weekend, for anyone down Carolina way.

From TVGuide.com, on DWTS All-Stars...

"For the love of sequins and spray tan, just no. We (and poor Tony) survived Kate Gosselin once, so why should we endure her again? That's just sadistic. Controversial figures aren't necessary to build buzz around an all-stars season, which inherently implies that these contestants are, you know, actually good. While people like Gosselin, Bristol Palin, Chaz Bono, Tom DeLay (he has bigger fish to fry anyway), Kim Kardashian, Cloris Leachman and Master P certainly brought other things to the table, dance skills — and dance interest in some cases — were not one of them."

She is one of the rauchiest, filthy-mouthed female comics I've ever heard.

I am always confused when comics think being mean, vile and vulgar is 'funny'.

I was never even really comfortable with Don Rickles and the acts of his I saw didn't contain vulgarity, just meaness.

I always did like Paula Poundstone. Her humor was subtle and gently whimsical - I'm sorry she quit national touring and TV. Some kind of scandal I think, but by today's standards I think folks would cut her a break. I really liked her....

If that was the purpose of the interview, how come he didn't promote his book?

Internet police,
Are you referring to the fiasco from the other blog? I really dont anyone here has to worry about something like that happening to them.
Nice of you to be concerned, though.

I would like to take a moment to remind everyone to please remember that Memorial Day (weekend) is to remember all our service members who died in the wars serving our country- it's not a holiday to celebrate the beginning of summer. Please take a moment to remember- they have loved ones who miss them dearly and you have a country that is stronger because of their ultimate sacrifice. I would also like to add, since 9/11, all the first responders and police who have selflessly sacrificed their lives when the war was brought to our homeland. Rest their souls. Happy summer every one.

Franky, ask your vet about Proin for your Kayla. Did wonders for my Willow, the furniture, floors, bed...

Glad to see Jon stand up for himself and say that he did not cheat on Kate. I never believed he did. Kate blindsided him as he has stated previously. I'm not really a fan of either of them, but like Jon better of the two parents.

I don't think Jon was angling for any show. I think he's doing stuff like this to remind the general public of him because of the book. It's hard to be out of the public eye for a long time and then just drop a book on the market and get decent sales. You have to put your face out there first. That's what this was, I'd bet money on it.

I'd also bet money Kate will not be on DWTS All-Stars.

Everyone have a nice, safe weekend. I'm going to put out all my flag stuff in the front yard. Monday we're going to a national cemetery near us to remember my father-in-law and grandfather.

I guarantee you Kate wont breathe a word on Twitter about the real reason for Memorial Day.

Internet Police -- thanks for the reminder. We do share a lot of information here, but I don't think any of it is identifying.

Sad that caution is required. The people on this blog are so friendly, caring, articulate and funny!

Everyone have a wonderful weekend ... honoring our brave military men and women.

Kate tweeted that she had an insane amount of prep and activities.

Wouldn't this be really "nice" -- she is staging a delayed birthday party for the tups. (With a BIG cake.) Jon is invited. Grandparents are invited. Aunt Jodi is coming with the cousins. School friends are invited. No one has to sign a confidentiality agreement.

Lots of chaos and chatter.

Could be -- she doesn't have to tell us. Would be better if she didn't.

Pink - glad to hear Cocoa is doing better.

Re: comedians, our favorite is Bryan Regan. He's clean so our whole family can watch. He just uses regular, everyday stuff and makes it hilarious. One that we repeat to each other a lot is from his bit about driving himself to the ER when he had a stomach virus. He says that not having valet parking at the ER has to be the biggest oversight in the galaxy. It would be great to drive up and say, "Um . . . can you park this? I need to collapse immediately." Then the nurse asks, "What SEEMS to be the problem?" Well . . . it SEEMS that everything on my inside wants to be on my outside. But I'm no doctor or nothin'.
