“Kate, you have fans/nonfans posting half-naked pictures of your kids on Twitter. Improper,” a fan tweeted to Kate. “Where? Please send me links. I’ll take care of it… Fast,” Kate responded. It’s unknown where these photos came from or who is posting them, but it seems a bit bizarre that someone would think to expose children in such a way. It seems more than likely that the pictures are of the Gosselin’s in their swimsuits, which is plenty proper—heck they’ve been on television in bathing suits, what’s the difference?
Of course if someone obtained inappropriate photos of Kate Gosselin’s kids, that is a different story. Either way, Kate and her team need to look into it and to ensure that her children aren’t being exposed in any way.

Aggie -- I think you missed a crucial one...potty training the kids; closing the door on one of them sitting on the potty, leaving him alone in the dark with a crew member, and the filming of a bare butt. We all saw it. Some, in fact, complained to the FCC about it. Jodi and Kevin brought it out at the child labor law hearings. Yes, it did happen, only to be edited by a pedophile.
Another potty training, with the boys, pants pulled down, in Beth's driveway. Nice, huh? And then airing the episode for the public's viewing pleasure. The kids had no say in the matter. They did as they were told.
How any parent on this planet could justify that is beyond words. A GOOD, responsible parent, that is. There are some, I suppose, who could twist it any way they can. It did, after all, attract viewers...all for the benjamins. That's what is important, isn't it? Ratings and money. If that isn't exploitation, I don't know what is. The ones who can justify it have no business being parents...not in this lifetime.
aggiemom -- I don't hate KK either. I pity her. She has never known true joy. She will never really understand just what she's lost of her kids' childhoods because of her frequent and prolonged absences from home. She will never realize that she had a loving and supportive mate who was willing to shoulder more than his share of raising 8 children. She appears to be unable to accept or give unconditional love. These are all reasons to pity, not to hate.

I don't even entertain any "arguments" about what Kate did. On no moral level is it ok to exploit your children for money and fame.
Period.
That's why I'm here and not on some site where child exploitation is debated as though there's a correct way to exploit your children or an ok way to do it. There's not.
That's all there is to it. There are no shades of gray in this issue. She (and Jon at first) allowed and agreed to the exploitation of those children for money (and in Kate's case, fame and what she hoped would be ongoing fame).
Children are not given to us to make money off their backs or display like a freak show for everyone to ogle at.
Why does Kate have her fans sending her tips for her CC blog? Has she run out of ideas? So, she uses their ideas and she collects a paycheck for it. Hmmm. I suppose since she's not having any luck making money off her kids, she had to come up with some new ways to make money off her fans. When her kids get older, they are going to absolutely hate the book she wrote "all by herself" about each of her children.

To this day that hurts me and nobody but me has ever seen it. Her book is open to the whole world, anybody, anywhere could read what she said about her individual children.

Preesi's sight has a couple of the kitchen remodel videos up.
I don't recall how old this clip is, but Kate's cooking breakfast, states the kids get sausage or bacon once or twice a year. What was shocking was that Ashley was going to the table asking what they wanted, etc etc, and those plates were loaded with food. The last kid at the head of the table had a LOT of eggs on her plate..it was shocking to see all that food then, compared to what they are served NOW.
It appears Kate has transferred her eating issues to the kids. Those kids don't get enough to eat.
I hope Kate realizes that what was spent on that kitchen remodel and her two week vaca was more than most people live on in a year.

To them, "organizing," "planning" and "masterminding" mean BOSSING PEOPLE AROUND.
"Cleaning" means "rubbing furiously at things while yelling at people and then getting others to do it for me."
As for "drama and editing work magic" the problem with that is that she admits right there that drama was part of the problem. Yeah, HER drama. Anyone with eyes can see that. And that brings me to the second part: editing. They can't edit things INTO your mouth. They can't edit scowls ONTO your face. They didn't edit her dragging someone else's vacuum cleaner across the rocks or yelling at Ashley for daring to let the kids have Steve's pizza.
You can edit OUT things, but you can't edit IN things and we saw how she was. I think the RV trip was the first time TLC really said, "what the hell, let's show people what we normally have to work with."

I understand the importance of not raising obese children. The health concerns, self-esteem issues and the patterns for later life can be devestating. It's important for parents to set a good example by eating properly, not veg out on the couch watching tv and participating in a regular fitness routine themselves. I have zero respect for overweight parents who still eat pizza and don't work out. What are they teaching their children?
But Kate being Kate has to take things to extremes. Those kids need to eat. Seeing the skin and bones with his ribs sticking out video made me want to cry. I hope Jon lets them eat lots.

Is Cindy off on yet another cruise? No promos today at all. BTW, I don't think the head-count has increased much since we last talked about it. I have reason to believe there are a couple of sheeple out there (hint: Kate's former "secretary" is one) who MAY be going but have chosen not to talk about it on Twitter--for obvious reasons. So I'm willing to revise my previous estimate upwards and say that she might have as many as 15 sheeple who are paying the Kate Rate, with perhaps a total group of 35.
I'm guessing Kate stands to make, oh, maybe $5-6,000 off this gig. Which isn't bad considering how little she has to do, and the fact that it's a week-long vacation for her and at least 4 other people (figuring in nanny & Pboy--oh no, d'ya think Pboy will need to be paid???). Aggie, that was a beautiful post about family. I know when my daughter and her family come to visit, we have all of the extended family over and spend a Saturday together. The boys love it and they smile and laugh when they see uncle Jeff and say "he's going to trouble make us, grandma!". Uncle Jeff loves to wrestle, tease, and play with them. They get big smiles when they see aunt Donna because she always brings her homemade chocolate chip cookies that they love; etc, etc.
It would be sad to have my daughter or her boys miss out on all of these wonderful get-togethers that we have, if only 4 or 5 times a year. Those are the true memories for children.
It is sad that Kate doesn't realize that yet.
Just watched Paul Petersen on Jane V-M commenting on the Eden thing. He's not happy. He said something to the effect that fame follows you, and when she goes back to regular school, watch out. He said that stage parents really don't understand what's happening, nor do they know what to watch out for. The world of this young child has dangers, there are predators, and there are risks.

The TLC editing elves really pulled back the curtain on the RV trip. We saw how people react to Kate (camera guy mimicking stabbing himself in the neck with a screwdriver and rafting guy saying basically that Kate is a piece of work). We also saw her treating her kids like crap and acting like Mady's hands were covered in cooties when they touched dear Steve's pizza.
What I thought most telling, however, was when they were sitting at Old Faithful and Mady said something just as a Park Ranger spoke and Mady immediately said " should I say that again?". Kate quickly said "no!" as if she knew they'd show that there are and have been retakes in scenes.
That said it all. Just playing and "not scripted!!" be damned.

But she still doesn't know.

Aggie, I'm so glad your brother came back to your family after being gone for so long. Due to my family history that I briefly touched on in an earlier post, one sibling still chooses to be estranged, but the rest of us hope she changes her mind (sorry for the long sentence!).
I truly believe that these relationships with family members is so important to children, and my grandsons are so lucky to have them on both sides of their family tree. I know my SIL's family and they are wonderful people and the boys are very close to them as well.
We can only hope and pray that one day Kate will see how precious and needed these relationships are for children. I hope Jon is reintroducing the kids to family when they are with him.
Hey, Kate is starting to lose it. As, I have always said: Kate can't remember what she says 5 min after she says it. min, an hour, 5 years ago. And when she does remember, she trys to re-write history, to her way. Remember with Kate about: ex-husband, family, friends, TV producers, and fans, IT'S MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY FOR YOU! I guess, everyone took the highway, rather than deal with Kate!
I believe that it was a lot more than just ratings that brought Kate down. I think that the attitude that came through on the RV episodes was in reality 100 times worse than what we saw. And I think that sort of beastliness had been going on for quite a while. The Alaska trip was where the lid really started to come off the can of worms.
I think, too, that the "relationship" with Steve played a role in the show's demise. He was shown a lot during the RV trip, and that was no accident. In fact, it could only have happened because Kate insisted on it. The little "let's talk about this privately in the RV" scene was probably one among many. And I'm not even suggesting anything "improper" occurred. Just that he seemed to be the only one who could keep her somewhat in check. Why would that be? He's not her therapist, right? Just.the.bodyguard.
I don't think TLC thought they could continue their "little family cable show" with that dynamic more and more in evidence. Keeping the show going would have required a whole new (and likely quite costly) PR campaign to get the fans adjusted to the "new man" in the Gosselins' life, and in the end, together with the falling ratings, it just wasn't worth it to take it in that direction.
I see Kate is on twitter silence again. Maybe Kate is in NYC for hair, she did mention it recently(today earlier or yesterday).

I recently came across this quote from the author of the Harry Potter books. I would so love to see Kate adopt this attitude. (Yes I do know I'm dreaming the impossible dream.)

I sure noticed long ago that Kate never had her brothers children over for a play date, never really talked about them. Ever see Kevin and Jodi's kids come over to thier house? Nope. But both she and Jon dropped all eight off at Aunt Jodi's. How did she handle it, smoothly, lovingly and graciously.

I believe that TLC canceled Kate plus 8 because they were sick of her never-ending shit. The ratings were on a par with Little People and the Duggars and TLC still deals with both of those groups. Kate expected a huge paycheck, free vacations and clothes and airfare etc and still couldn't be bothered to take care of her own children. That RV trip was unbelievable; she didn't even ride in the same vehicle as her kids yet this is supposed to be a show about raising multiples. Instead we have a biological mom handing over her kids to babysitters and then mistreating the kids and the babysitters. A bitch who is contemptible yet patting herself on the back constantly. Ugh. Couldn't stand her face, her voice, her screeching, her smugness. And I'm betting the higher ups at TLC finally had had enough of her crapfest. . They probably put up with her as long as they did because they thought she could capture a huge audience. But the perfect diss is that without Jon the show lost any charm it may have once had. It was painful and infuriating to behold. Even the jerks at TLC probably couldn't stomach her treatment of the kids and her whining, entitled, miserable ass. I just wonder if they told her they detested her like everyone else who has had the misfortune of meeting her

Mel, thanks for saying that. I think bully is way overused too. It can't be used anytime anyone says something that is upsetting to you, that is not what bullying is.
And more helicopter parenting diving in rescuing kids after any little negative comment from some other kid. Kids need to learn to stand up for themselves and they need to understand that, SHOCKER not everyone will like them. Big deal, get over it. Do I think a little razzing, teasing, and pushing buttons of a kid is bullying? No, I think it's part of growing up, learning to make your way. It also helps kids to learn what is socially acceptable and what is not. A lot of kids are teased about things that they could change--smelly clothes, picking nose, uncombed hair, not engaging with other kids, etc., hearing negative feedback from others is not the worst thing in the world, it's a social cue. I'm not talking about kids who are that way because of things like asbergers, that's DIFFERENT.
Guess what, the adult world is full of these people and if you can't handle it as a kid you'll be woefully unprepared to deal with them as an adult. Systemic bullying is of course wrong.

I think the troubles with two of her children being "homeschooled" was a great eye-opener for TLC. The behaviors that the two kids displayed was alarming for them. I think they realized that their (TLC) very heavy presence in Gosselins' lives was detrimental. I think that was the main reason...even over the sinking ratings is why they cancelled the show. And the timing of the cancellation was a couple weeks before school started. Perhaps they feared the old problems may resurfaced in the new school year and they wanted to cut their losses. Plus the children were no longer adorable as they once were.

It bothers me when people pretend these things don't matter and act as if they are "above" the shallow realities as to how looks are important.
Of course we want our girls to grow up smart.

Great post and so very true. Let's face it, Kate does not handle criticism or feedback very well. NPD. Many people would take the info from TLC, as well as all of the other feedback from others, and at least consider it. Not Kate. She is a train wreck, who thinks she knows best, no matter what. Her way or the highway.

Just a theory, but Celebrity Wife Swap was surely taking up more than a few days to film. There's negotiation of the contract, which she may have had to spend a lot of time with her manager on if she didn't like it, there's pre-production where somebody gave her information she would need to pack a golfing outfit, there's arranging for the trip, then the filming, then all the interviews afterward. I can't remember exactly how many days she was pretty quiet on twitter but it was at least a couple weeks. I bet my bottom dollar she was so excited about all this she wasn't returning CC phone calls and was missing deadlines. Like the "insider" said they gave her warnings and she just kept blowing them off putting them on the back burner. Then bam they finally let the axe fall, enough was enough. I think the fact that she didn't even seem that upset about it speaks volumes--she was so wrapped up in CWS and dreaming so much about what it would lead to, she felt too good for CC anymore anyway.
If only she would use her deception skills to be a productive member of society. For instance as an undercover police officer, or CIA agent. Or salesman!
