Kate and kids run in Rod Dixon's Kid's Marathon in Connecticut

Some fans posted photos of their encounters with Kate at the race today.

Twitter

Meanwhile, savvy readers here have found Kate's tweet from a few months back in which she claims she can't tweet about events in advance for her "safety." Except this time, when the marathon involved the kids, she tweeted about the event in advance. What about their safety?

@xxxxxx@Kateplusmy8 Was ample media on the opening. People have learned 2 help Kate stay under radar until she gets where's she's going.

They're standing in front of the Litchfield Inn. Pretty nice place. Wonder what accommodations for 10 is costing someone?

Looks like Emily might still be there with them:

Jane-regarding the hills:

"It is only three-tenths of a mile, but anyone who has run the Litchfield Hills Road Race knows Gallows Lane all too well. The elevation gain is 145 feet; the grade a nasty 9.2 percent. Not only that, it comes near the end of the 7-plus-mile race held each June. Tough. So tough that an article in the October issue of Runner's World magazine pronounces it number eight among the 10 greatest, most daunting, most hurtful hills in U.S. road races."

------------

Exactly! My very fit and trained husband, as well as the bike club he was riding with, said it was tortuous. They loved it LOL but then they thrive on this kind of challenge. Kate...not so much!

I'm surprised there hasn't been a hotel sighting of them yet. There aren't that many chain hotels in Litchfield, although there are charming B & Bs.

For someone who didn't want the pictures of Kate at the SD marathon to be seen by the "haters", Paige is having a field day finding pictures taken by others today and posting them on her twitter. Emily(above) didn't even post this picture on her own twitter.

Admin-I do have mixed feelings about posting this picture here as it was not Emily who made it public-it was Paige.

What a sweet, young girl.

It's a shame she worships that woman.

She's too young to see the truth through her young, innocent, rose colored glasses.

Just the way Kate likes them...

I find it very odd that a teenage girl would have this woman as a role model. I find it even odder that she would fabric paint eight kids' names on her shirt.

Just strange all around. I'd have to wonder if my teen daughter was obsessed with a has-been reality TV person famous only for having tons of kids.

Once a Viewer said... 8

Did the G kids sign her shirt or did she make it? That's kind of weird IMO- I have a teenage daughter who would never think of that..her 'idols' are singers, artists, actors, writers etc, people who have done things!

I thought I read that she made it - maybe she posted it on Twitter? And I see Steve is with her, of course. Paige has a photo posted of the two of them.

If these kids are posting photos on Twitter, I think it's fair game to share them. That's what Twitter's all about.

True, but she posted in on a public Instagram profile. If she is underage, then I can see blocking out her face but then again she is the one who put it out there. She does look quite attractive and normal. Reminds me of my 15 year old actually. Her twitter profile has a big pic of K8. I don't get that either.

---------------------

I was thinking about that, too. Many of Kate's fans are teens. These are girls who are not parents. They know nothing about protecting and nurturing children, which may explain in part why they just don't "get it" when it comes to the exploitation part of it. They see nothing wrong in what she is doing because they've never been in the role of a parent. They don't have the experience under their belts to understand the psychological and emotional aspect of child development and the relationship between a parent and a child.

However, for the life of me I can't understand their fascination with a 37-year-old divorced woman. I can see a teen idolizing a young female (or male) celebrity -- singer, actor, sports hero -- but the Kate worship is really bizarre.

I really just don't get it....

Here in PA, the girls at my middle school paint shirts all the time. But it is usually for a big football game with a rival, or when many of them were going to the Justin Bieber concert a couple years ago or for their own sports teams (soccer, field hockey etc.) They did some cute pink ones for breast cancer awareness week last year, although some were a bit too racy :)

I must say, in the several years I've spent at middle school, I've never heard one of them ever mention Kate or J&K+8. One gal came back to school in 2009 with the Kate reverse mullet and kids kinda made fun of it. She grew it out immediately.

I too, am intriuged by what the teens could possibly see in this woman.

She is so delusional she probably thinks if she hooks up with Mrs. Obama (and Disney) she will be entitled to Secret Service protection too.

bm

Kate is a twit said... 15

Dmasy--we could be sisters! My middle name is Annette, and for a while I was convinced that my mother took the name from Annette Funicello.

I think Emily is nowhere as fanatical as Paige. She is a big fan of Wilson Phillips and tweets with Chynna Phillips.

I also think that some of the teenage fans are more fans of the kids than Kate. However, since Kate is basically their source of info about the kids, they gush over Kate. Emily doesn't tweet to Kate as often as the others. I would say she is a fan-but she is not obsessed like Paige seems to be.

When I was 15, my crushes were Parker Stevenson, Peter Frampton, and The Osmond Brothers.

The idea of admiring/crushing a middle-aged, divorced, fame-ho, embarrassing mother of 8 kids would have never been a consideration for me.

This weird fascination with a talentless person, who is basically lacking in everything, is an excellent example of the piss poor role models our youth have on t.v. today.

Oh, my gosh. My mother had such a crush on him. I found a scrapbook she made, filled to the brim with everything "Little Joe." She also was crazy about Dr. Kildare and Ben Casey. I found a Kildare doctor's jacket in a box in the attic and a Casey medical kit. I wonder if they are worth anything!

When I was a teen it was the Beatles (John) and Illya Kuryakin (David McCallum for those of you too young to remember The Man From U.N.C.L.E.). My sister and I actually went looking for the taylor shop near the UN that housed the secret entrance to U.N.C.L.E. Headquarters once. Never in my wildest dreams did I have a crush on any mother to include Donna Reed and Mrs. Cleaver. The only mother I can ever remember my son having a crush on was Pam Anderson and that was because, well, she's Pam Anderson and he was a healthy young man.

Kate Gosselin still looks like a horse-toothed jackass with those Mr. Ed choppers and her chit eating grin. She is trying to rebrand herself as a fitness expert, but as I said in the previous thread, being a runner doesn't make you a fitness expert, it just makes you a runner. She's a one trick pony (pun intended) and will never be the fitness expert she believes herself to be.

LoveMyGrandsons said... 25

Dmasy, I'm a BIG Bonanza fan. Although Little Joe was cute, he couldn't compare to his older brother Adam. He was my heartthrob!

I also do not understand the teen fans fascination with Kate. I'd be worried if my daughter's idol was a nasty, child exploiting mother of 8.

Gift of grab said... 26

Jane, I think Tweedle got it right. Earlier today the teen fan tweeted to her to "come down to the bistro," which is the name of the restaurant at the Litchfield Inn. Rooms start at $269/night. It doesn't seem to be a very large place, so either this was arranged a while ago, or Rod blocked a bunch of rooms and then fixed it up for Kate. The Gosselin party's got to have at least two rooms, more likely three, and maybe even four (that is, if Kate and Steve really don't stay in the same one).

So between accommodations, food, gas, and misc., you've got to figure this weekend is costing someone upwards of $2,500, perhaps a lot more. Oh and that's WITHOUT PurseBoy's "fee" and whatever the "sitter" is making.

FYI, I don't believe this fan is underage (well, she might be 17). I think she's the one who was devastated when the cruise came up because she's going to be in Europe at that time.

While stranger things have happened, the Obamas have already dissed the Kennedys, the Clintons, and even Oprah, so I really don't think Kate has much of a shot with Michelle, unless she dumps Steve and starts dating Tareq Salahi.

Gift of grab said... 29

I think the teen-girl fascination with Kate has everything to do with her being on TV. They think she has it made. She's tanned, toned, blonde, and dresses in clothes THEY would like to be wearing. AND they buy into her being able to "do it all." In some ways, that is what makes her such a dangerous role model--she doesn't do it all, she never DID, but she has done everything in her power to perpetuate the myth.

I wonder if that's a meeting-up place for the race? I remember the Litchfield Inn (we visit this area every April) and it's very nice but not really a kid-friendly place. It's outside of the town, which is very classy, preppy, New England - even has a village green. Antique stores, small boutiques, cute restaurants. Many actors and writers who are based in NYC have country homes in this area. Last time we were here we ran into Lorraine Braco (Dr. Melfi on 'The Sopranos') at a garden shop. Kate walking down the main street in her hookerish clothes would draw stares but no comments! I doubt anyone there knows or cares about her. And yeah, minimum $2,500 for this publicity stunt but heck, she gets to spend quality time with her boyfriend :)

Now that I think about it, $2,500 is probably too low. You KNOW that after running tomorrow, she's staying another night. So it's probably more like $3K+.

For comparison's sake, you can still get a pretty nice 4-BR rental for a week in, e.g., Cape May, NJ, a block off the beach, for that kind of money. Will be interested to see if she bothers with the beach, THEIR expressed vacation destination, this summer.

Just catching up on some old comments from the other thread. Anger Issues do you live in LA? Everyone considers Santa Monica part of LA. It's not wrong to call that area LA and no one would be offended. It's both. It's like how all cities have little neighborhoods within itself. If you're telling someone outside where you're from you would say LA, and if they ask what part then you'd say Santa Monica. People all the way up in Lancaster which is like 70 miles away still call themselves LA, as they rightly are.

Don't think for one minute that this wasn't deeply discounted or grifted. There's no way that Kate would pay for it. I do hope that she takes them to the beach. She said that seeing the Cape is one of her passions (is there anything that isn't her passion?), and it's a little more than three hours away. Of course, there are beaches much closer, but they probably wouldn't be exclusive enough for her. She's thinking more of Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard.

Weekend (38), truly doubt that their rooms were discounted much by the owners. This would be a PRIME weekend for that inn (the race tomorrow is an annual event going back some 35 years and has attracted a lot of world-class runners) because of the event, and I doubt they would have discounted even for Kate. No, I believe that Rod swung some sort of deal, he is trying to get publicity for his program. I also think that Kate is probably paying some of the tab (though by no means all). After all, she can deduct it on her taxes as business and/or charitable expense, whichever nets her the bigger deduction.

As for a Cape vacation, I don't doubt that Kate's sights are set on MV or NT. However, with her kids used to southern beaches, the water temp at this time of year would come as a most unpleasant surprise. It won't be warm enough for Kate to even dip her toes in before August.

Went on to David Cassidy I think..loved to listen to Simon & Garfunkel and feel all pre-adolescent romantic. But I think most crushes were boys in my class or my older sister's. I never would make a T shirt dedicated to Kate.

Gift of grab said... 48

It just occurred to me when I commented above about Kate's taxes: With these events, whether or not she's being paid, she's certainly using them as deductions. But now the deductions are all hers, as the kids are not, technically, earning anything now, after the show. But they still have to be hauled wherever she wants to take them to show them off?

Admin? If Kate IS actually paying for any part of this and claiming it as a business expense, well, where does that leave the kids? After all, they were a "paid" part of the enterprise for the last couple of years and will certainly have had tax returns filed on their behalf. Is all of the money she now pulls in with them as a draw considered hers alone?

Once a Viewer said... 49

One thing that strikes me about this picture is just how skinny Kate looks compared to this teen. she does not look healthy at all. Secondly, I have a theory as to why she has all of the teen fans. I think it is because she actually interacts with them. Any other "celebrity" very rarely tweets back and if they do it is usually just a retweet not an actual conversation. I think these teens are living those episodes with Kate thinking she is their friend and confident. Just my opinion.....

Why Milo, I think u r correct!! Some company DOES need 2 snap Kate up! She's such a natural at promoti.... wait, I think some well known companies already did snap Kate up: Proctor&Gamble, The Sandwich Council, K Mart, Health Tex, Zondervan and the AbChamp, to name a few. She is so "motivated" to promote CC, she was supposed to go on Today to promote the new CC app. Instead, she mentioned it once and spent the rest of the time slobbering like a St. Bernard to Ann about how she...err... the kids are clamoring to get back on TV.

She is physically unable to promote anything/anyone but HERSELF, which is why these companies throw her out of the moving car real quick. When CC does it here sooner rather than later, they won't even slow down first.

O.M.G. I just watched Part I of this video. Can she NOT lose the GUM for even 30 seconds??? You can tell it's rolling around in her mouth during her "intro" to the event. (Yeah, Kate, you're here to promote "healthy eating for kids," NOT yourself! Of course not.) The gum-chomping is made all the more ironic given that one of her most famous meltdowns occurred over her 3-yr-old getting gum on his "lovey."

I honestly don't understand how anyone who watches her does not see her for the rank, no-talent opportunist she truly is. This has perplexed me for a very long time.

LoveMyGrandsons said... 60

I checked on line about 20 minutes ago and did not see any pap photos of Kate and the kids. (I hope they haven't showed up since then.)

I think that's good because it will show Kate that even with her kids, she is not news anymore, no matter how much she wants to be. I would like to think that this revelation will make her leave the kids out of her future attempts at stardom; sadly, I don't think that will happen.

Once a Viewer said... 61

I watched too, Gift. "My kids love running." Obviously NOT. "When I go to marathons..." Two. and ALL of them smacking on gum- that's dangerous as a choking hazard while running. The kids have grown. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

You're not kidding. Boys look out of it, none of the kids look engaged, and one of those poor girls is "running" with Grifty's boyfriend, looking miserable, and with her arms folded across her chest. Yep, the picture of joy.

Five hours in a car, each way, with Mommie Dearest and Mr. Pizza Policeman, and then a chance to be trampled by a herd, all so Mommie Dearest can have an hour of public attention.

This woman is sickening.

Anonymous said... 64

Exactly--SHE loves running. I find it odd that she says everything she does her kids just love. I am thinking as a kid I could have cared less what my mother was interested in. Be it selfish of me but I don't remember ever asking her questions about her hobbies or things like that. I was too busy with...doing whatever. I was 8 years old once and it never occurred to me to have the same interest as my mother. Or was I just weird?

I'm going to say this once, gum is for humans, and cud is for cows. Seriously that's what she reminds me of seeing her chew like that. You could at least learn to do what all 5 year old's learn to do--chew with their mouths closed. Disgusting.

She supports healthy eating? Does that include non-organic health food as well? Healthy food does not always have to be organic.

Jumping In said... 65

That picture evokes sadness in me too. There the children stand, waiting for instructions from their mother, unable to step away from her due to 'safety' issues. I imagine her telling the official, "I don't care if it's a kid's only race, you don't get it" "My kids have to run beside me and their bodyguard, don't you know who I am"? "Rod has ok'd this, so go speak to him please".

The kids got an outing, it may not be what they want to do, but it is a change of scenery.

When I was about 8 years old, my parents got obsessed with gardening and landscaping. They went to nurseries every weekend and took us with them. They worked in the yard every chance they got and expected us to be just as enthused and excited as they were.

Thing is, we were 8 and 6! We couldn't possibly be LESS interested in gardening than we were. We wanted to ride our bikes, play with our friends, stuff like that. Not be dragged from one nursery to the next every weekend.

It was THEIR interest, but they couldn't see that it wasn't ours, too.

Too many people treat kids as little extensions of themselves and narcissists like Kate are obviously extra horrible on this count.

Admin: I got what your saying.I live in Chicago. But Whiting is in another state, to call it a suburb of Chicago is wrong. If it were in the same state OK. It's like Milwaukee, WI, it's 250 about maybe a litttle less miles, from Chicago, in the past, it was referred to as part of the Chicago area, not. It's in WI, another state. The people in Milwaukee, would not like being ID with Chicago. Whiting, IN is 15 miles from downtown Chicago. It maybe 2 miles from the Illinois border, & the south end of Chicago, but that area(around the southend of Chicago, at the border of IN), is not a place to stop in, even in the daylight, it's a rough area. That is why I don't consider Whiting part of Chicago. I have a friend who lives in Whiting and she does not consider, Whiting part of Chicago or a suburb of.

And Santa Monica, I talked with a few residents, several years ago, and they had wanted to be ID as their own city, not part of LA. Which they are always consider part of. They are a city, not part of LA. There was years ago some parts of LA, wanted to break off, and become their own city, cause of Police & Fire dept services. I think it was to get better services, if they were their own city. It did not happen.

I just watched the youtube video. All I can say is: six sh*t tons of makeup. Girlfriend. Why? Do you hate your skin that much?

And yeah, of course they don't want to be there. Like everyone pointed out, there's hardly a single thing EIGHT kids are all going to like the same amount. You could hardly say that for three or four kids.

Good point, Jumping In 65. Why are those two ADULTS (Grifty and the Boyfriend) running with the KIDS? Where does she get off?

If I were a parent at this event, I'd be mad as hell first that those idiots were allowed to interfere with a KIDS event, and second at the incredible entitlement and arrogance of it all.

Anger, Santa Monica IS a separate city, but referred to, generally, by residents and others alike, as "LA", even though it's not technically Los Angeles. Most of the urban area around what is technically the city of Los Angeles is referred to as "LA", whatever the boundaries ae.

I lived there for over a decade. Nice place, if you like LA, which I didn't. Give me weather any day.

And Kate is still a lousy interviewee.

Kate is a Witch said... 72

That stood out to me, too. No other adults were running in the kids' race except the hag and her thing-person-guy.

Why couldn't the kids just run the race?

Oh yeah, because she probably would have had at least two of them straight up refuse to, another two would quietly stop running and fall back pretty shortly into it, and another two would begin to vomit.

She MADE them do this. How sad.

There is so much I want to say about Kate today that I may need to post all night.

First post...

Until either Kate or the KidsMarathon Foundation comes out and states that Kate attended this event at her OWN expense including that Kate paid for all of her and her children's travel expenses (this includes driving/flying to Connecticut, hotel, food, all expenses for Purse/Backpack holder(Steve) and any nannies) and did NOT receive compensation for attending ... then and only then will I have anything positive to say about Kate promoting a healthy lifestyle for children.

Until proven otherwise, I believe that Kate was PAID to attend as a guest and did not use any of her own money to travel to this event. And I will continue to believe that the ONLY reason she attended with the kids was because she was paid and did not use her own money to attend.

Kate says she can't afford the movies or a beach vacation for the kids. Really Kate? I think every reader here would pay for a movie and a beach vacation for our kids.

BUT we are to believe that Kate used her own money to take all 8 kids including BackPack Boy to Connecticut just to run 1 mile? Really Kate? I don't think so.

So I will NEVER believe Kate's claims that she supports this foundation and what they stand for as long as there is no proof that she volunteered and paid her own way. I do not believe Kate is supporting this foundation and what they stand for ... it seems very clear that the foundation is now supporting her!

Kate attending this run today was Kate finding another way to use her kids to be PAID to travel. This was another way for Kate to be PAID to go somewhere, another way for Kate to be PAID to be in the media.

I watched the 2 videos of the run. The sponsors in the local area should be outraged that the KidsMarathon Foundation PAID to have Kate and the kids attend!

I would be ashamed to be a part of Rod Dixon's Foundation or a donor knowing that funding was used to PAY the Gosselins and Backpack Boy!

To be fair to Kate(don't throw things, please)-there were other adults also running. They may have been teachers, coaches or parents, but Kate wasn't the only adult in the race.

At least Kate wasn't waving to the cameras as she passed by. I have to admit, that DID surprise me.

Gift--I noticed the gum chomping too. Looks like the kids were chewing also. Funniest part of Part 2 was Steve bringing up the rear, chomping on gum and holding onto the straps of his backpack for dear life. I wonder if he was the water boy/cellphone carrier.

Kate's name was not mentioned at all and if you didn't know who she was, you would just assume she was the mother of some of the kids running.
Just a mediocre mom, running a mediocre race.

************************************************

How precious. Skeeve can officially add to his resume that he also carries Kate's wallet, her kids water bottles, and organic snacks in a backpack.

Let's see, he's Kate's purseboy, backpack carrier, babysitter, handler, rangler, driver, in charge of security, road manager, travel companion, confidante/advisor, boob designer, personal dresser, sometime cook, and very close friend.

But only gets paid per appearance with Kate.

P.S. the Gosselinettes did not look too enthusiastic in that video. Going to the beach would have probably been a better choice, but whatever.

-----------------------------
I think what confuses outsiders is LA is a county. I am from LA and the way I know someone else is from LA (or SOCAL) is when I say I am from LA, they will ask "oh yeah? Where?" But anyone else will just say "ok." So Santa Monica IS part of LA, county and it is its own city. I laugh (not in a mean way) cuz most people, whne they say are from LA, are talking about county, and now I realize the rest of the country thinks we mean the city! Nope :)

Kate is a Witch said... 82

Ooo I can answer that, AMD!

The kids really don't have a real interest in it and Kate will lose interest the MOMENT she realizes this isn't going to make her money or get her the kind of attention she wants.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 83

Butterfly yeah it's one of the few places that seems to identify itself by the county since most people don't actually live in the city of LA. I know like one person who actually has a Los Angeles address! Everyone else is in one of the dozens of neighborhoods, cities and towns.

But if that were the case, where are all the crazed fans?

Please clarify: Kate dragged those children (and pb of course) across

Don't they have parent/kid marathons in PA? Didn't she run one with Cara?

Second post on Grifting Kate and how she has now added exploiting Connecticut school children to pay for her lifestyle:

We all know that Kate can't find a for-profit company, producer, publisher other than CC to pay her to travel or do whatever she thinks she has the talent to offer (nothing) so ... Kate has now made it her job to prey on Non-Profit Organizations.

In watching the 2 videos, I found it interesting that Rod Dixon used the phrase "special guests". Later the term "sponsors" was also mentioned in the video. Guests and sponsors are completely different.

I trully believe that Kate was the "GUEST" and was not involved in helping promote, sponsor, donate, etc to this run or the foundation. Just by the word alone we know that a "Sponsor" would not get paid. And since I believe that Kate was paid to attend then that would make Kate, the 8, and BackPack Boy the "guests".

I find it PATHETIC that Kate is now using Charitable organizations to FUND her million dollar lifestyle.

The only events that she has done this year were all funded by Charitable donations: The Australian Zoo (charitable), RockNRoll Marathon in Vegas and LA (charitable), Red Cross (Charitable), Camp for special needs kids - can't remember the name (Charitable), and now she has found a way to USE the KidsMarathon Foundation (Charitable).

There is NO way that anyone would believe that Kate is using her own money to attend any of these events. Kate has used twitter enough for all of us to read about how she needs to save and scrimp when providing for her 8 kids. The fact until proven otherwise is that Kate's attendance was PAID!

I am actually outright disgusted by Kate today more than I have been in the past!

We all knew she had no shame or moral compass when it came to exploiting her children. Then we were witnesses to her using her twitter to get gifts from teens and creepy fans and businesses. But now she has made it her job to latch onto any Charity who will pay her to continue her greedy, grifting, and LAZY lifestyle.

YUK - She really does disgust me today!

What fun to read about y'all's crushes. I was madly in love with Richard Chamberlain, George Harrison and Bobby Vinton -- a famous, and VERY TALENTED Pennsylvanian, KK.

Nice celeb story for y'all. The first year I was teaching, one of my special ed. students had a mad crush on Chad Everett -- Dr. Joe Gannon on "Medical Center". I wrote him a letter telling him about her, and that she was 14, but around 5 functionally. He sent her an autographed picture of himself; another signed by himself, James Daly and one of the actresses who played a nurse on the show; a hospital coat with "Joe Gannon" stitched on it; and several picture books. She was over the moon. THAT is a real celebrity.

Revisiting the milk thing from the previous thread. KK never said she never bought milk, but she did say several times that the kids don't drink milk because it's too expensive. She also said, in the episode where they visited the dairy farmer and drank glass after glass of milk, that it was a rare treat for them. She's depriving them of one of the sacred joys of childhood -- a cookie warm from the oven and a cold glass of milk (or an oreo and a glass of milk, LOL).

I haven't watched the Youtube video of KK and the kids. I may steel myself to do that later, but I don't think I could stomach her right now.

OT, but one of my favorite authors, Orania Papazoglu (Jane Haddam) is a Litchfield Lady. Her Gregor Demarkian series, written as Haddam, is very good, but the Papazoglu series (which is out of print, but available online from second-hand dealers) is absolutely hilarious!

As for milk, on Shopping For 10, Kate stated "I never buy milk unless it's on sale." She did buy it sometimes because Hannah had to go to the corner for picking her cereal out of milk. But strangely they did eat dry cereal in the BBB from pouches with 'their juice cups." I thought that was gross. But her kids did eat dry cereal a lot.

&&&

I totally agree. In a way I pretty much don't count the teen fans because most if not all of them will quickly mature out of this phase and move on from being Kate fans. It's really a fleeting thing. They will mature and realize who she really is. I am virtually certain this girl will grow up, judging by a glance at her Instagram she seems like a normal teen with a nice family and friends and interests outside of Kate.

I don't think it's all that unusual for a teen girl to look up to a 36 year old mom. For some it's mommy issues, feeling that teen angst with their own mother and thinking if only my mother were like Kate things would be better. For some I think it's just finding their own identity as they grow into a woman and seeking out what kind of woman and mother they will be. Some teens have a romantic view about kids, some might look up to her because they think multiples would be fun and cute. They only see the fun and cute aspects of it, they are too immature to see all the crap beyond that.

I don't worry about the teens. They will grow up. Teenage brains do fascinate me though, especially the celeb worship stage so many go through. I do believe it's probably all about finding your own identity.

Who knows, maybe the teen girls who show an interest in someone with a lot of kids, will eventually find their own fitting, realize what are good and bad choices as a parent and become wonderful mothers someday.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 96

&&&

I don't even know at this point, this is the point where I tell my relative/friend/ this goes way beyond my tax law class you need to hire a good CPA.

What I can say is obviously these events where there is a lot of comping going on are HUGE red flags for the IRS. If her payment was a free marathon, transportation, in exchange for being a special guest, they may just come knocking. And it DOES beg the very real question if Kate is being paid via freebies, where are the children's cut?

Just watched Dominique Moceanu's interview on 20/20, 1996 Olympian. She sued her father for one million dollars which she said he squandered.

Kate? The day will come when your kids get old enough to realize what's happening here. That age was just 17 for Dominique.

This is something Kate could have mentioned after the race was all over. Kate announced it before to get media there. Her kids, do not know how to act in crowds. THey especially the tups looked confused and shy, for 8 year olds, I don't know? Probably cause Kate does not take them out enough in crowds.Remember, Kate said in the RV episode, that she does not tell her kids ahead of time where they are going, so they can't protest. Just as we predicted yesterday. Not all the kids want to do this you narcissistic bitch.

I only saw them really "run" once it was over and the were on the grass..with again.. PB heading up the back and kate grabbing on to the chosen 2 to drag them ahead.

3rd Post on Disgusting PATHETIC Kate and BackPack Boy:

It amazes me that Kate's few fans are so blind when it comes to questioning BackPack Boy (Steve) and why he travels with her. They never question the cost to pay him. It goes without question that since they don't think he is her "boyfriend" that he must be getting paid.

I would assume that BackPack Boy must demand to be paid at least $500 a day (I know this is too low but we can start there). So this weekend's trip would cost Kate $1,500 in fees plus hotel of $380 (2 nights at approx $190/night) plus Meal per diem of $210 (3 days at $70 per day) for a total of $2,090 at a minimum. Though I would believe it is closer to $3000 to $4000 for Steve alone.

So how can the Sheeple or anyone believe that Kate is paying at minimum $2,090 out of her own money for BackPack Boy to go to Connecticut this weekend when Kate has claimed many times how expensive it is to take her children to a movie?

How can the Sheeple be so BlIND to the obvious.

If the KidsMarathon Foundation is not paying Kate then why aren't they outraged that Kate has $2,090 to pay BackPack Boy but not $100 to take her kids to the movies.

Or if their simple minds believe that Kate doesn't pay BackPack Boy then why are they not seeing that he only travls with her because they are in a relationship and thus forgoes payment in $ in exchange for Ewww I can't say.

But I believe that Kate does NOT pay him but demands that the Charity pay him in addition to her fees/expenses. And that is just WRONG!

When the Sheeple don't question or ask about BackPack Boy it shows their ingnorance, low morals, and lack of character and integrity.

Kate and her Sheeple are PATHETIC!

I had the same exact thought. If the kids participated in the program I bet the finish line would feel really good. You can see how satisfied the other kids look running. To them it means absolutely nothing because you swooped in at the last minute and didn't do the work.

It's like most things in life. Cheating or taking the easy road or coming in at the last minute just for the good stuff will ultimately leave you feeling very unsatisfied. But putting in a long hard day's work, or weeks, or months, and all of a sudden that reward feels amazing. It truly does concern me to see the way she is setting up their lives. These are the kind of children who turn to drugs and sex at early ages because they simply cannot find that "high" feeling from normal activities in life because no one ever taught them good ways to find it and instead just handed them the high without the work, it's the sad truth.

Some will pout, some will cry and some will run....i just watched the video! I wonder if Kate even likes running and eating healthy. She lies so much that you really can't believe her. It could be this whole running frenzy is just another way of branding herself (and the kids). She's tried everything else and maybe figures she finally hit on something that will stick.

Exactly. Alexis is so young all she knows how to do when she doesn't want to do something is cry, cross her arms and trudge along. In a few years though, the kids is going to outright refuse to get on the plane, or park herself on the side of the track and refuse to run at all, or even go off to her Dad's house and refuse to leave. It's really not that far off, Kate.

Someone forwarded me an email from Coupon Cabin basically telling them that there are no promises that she will be able to meet Kate at the Chicago marathon and that all you will do is just be in her some coral.

What a CROCK. I hope the sheeple read the fine print on this crap. You could pay all this money to get yourself there then not even MEET her. What is the point of a celeb meet and greet where there are no promises you will actually meet and greet? LOL.

Once a Viewer, I agree totally about the Alexis-sleeping-in-the-basement creepiness. I didn't watch this show on a regular basis, and what I saw was mostly disordered reruns, but I never got how you would let a 3- or 4-yr-old sleep in the basement ALONE. And yes, I've heard the speculation that that was Jon's domain; but the explanation they attempted to give about why she would be down there every night, alone? Bizarre.

Localyocul said... 119

That poor little G girl who didn't want to run. Now the sheeple will spin it for Kate and the sad thing is, I doubt they force their own children to do the very same, but somehow it's ok for the G8 to be made to do their mother's bidding. This is what I find disturbing. The sheeple will excuse anything she does to them.

Hook 'em Horns said... 121

I agree with the poster who said Kate did not tell them what they were doing until they arrived. She probably lied and told them they were going to the beach. Then, to get them to run, she said they would go to the beach AFTER they finished. AND...don't laugh at me....but when I was 15 I had a crush on Barry Manilow. (And Sean Cassidy and Charlie Waters, the Dallas Cowboy, so I wasn't ALL weird.)

But that's the problem-there is no fine print. CC didn't say that in their post. They imply that you will meet Kate. Apparently, the only way you find out is to email CC. Shades of the cruise all over again.

I once went to an event in Scotland and Sean Connery was in the audience. I don't tell people that I went to the event "with" Sean Connery. Running "with" Kate is not the same as "be in the same starting corral as Kate".

Everything Kate is involved in always seems to be fraught with innuendo and untruth.

Oh my gosh, really? I assume this 5k is the last corral at the Chicago 1/2 marathon, but even if there are hundreds of people in it (as there are in other corrals), there is NO REASON Kate could not meet and greet people. There will not be that many and they are handing out CC t-shirts, for goodness sake! It would be extremely easy for them to congregate in one part of the corral and wait for their queen to show up for a quick meeting and some photos. I was in corral 8 out of dozens, and we were there a LONG TIME waiting to advance to the start line. They will be in that corral forever! Unbelievable.

Then she had the gall to talk about the kids that were training for 8 weeks, running a total of 25 miles, and that she wanted to bring her kids to "experience crossing the finish line". (I think those were her exact words.)

How can she talk about the other kids who worked so hard for this and then bring up her kids who just came to cross the finish line? What a poor example to set for children, that they don't have to work hard, but they can still cross the finish line.

And after seeing those videos, it's obvious her kids do NOT "love running" and they will probably end up hating it because mom is forcing them to do it (for her own personal gain).

The first thing that I see when I look at that picture of her and her "fan" is Kate's expensive sweat suit and her fake manicured nails (we wont talk about how her looks have changed in the last 8 years). I am a mother of three, if I couldn't afford to take my kids on any fun summertime vacations/movies I sure as hell wouldn't have the best sweat suit, running shoes and a manicure. My three kids keep me so busy running that there isn't much chance I would feel like running a marathon! I am very blessed to have 3 amazing kids, they are that way because I have always put THEIR best interest first! They are all athletes who work very hard, but come Saturday morning, the last thing they would want to do is jump in a car drive 5 hours and run 1!! mile.

I guess time will tell if the kids want to actually pursue running marathons, or is this just one more of Kate's attempts to grab some spot light.

I am actually surprised that the owners of I'll have another didn't ask for Kate to fly to the Belmont track for her medical advice.. (sorry that wasn't nice to the owners =))

If Kate Gosselin ISN'T going to Chicago to do a 5K with her "fans," as advertised on CC, then WHY the hell is she going AT ALL? This is NOT a "marathon"-type run for our new MarathonSuperMomof8Woman. So why is CC advertising it and WHY is she doing it? How can you promote a "run with Kate" if you don't even get to meet her?

And she wasn't running with 10K in SD, it was 30K! Hello?

Kate is a twit said... 152

Grandsons (154), I totally get why Kate's going. After all, it's another free first-class 3- or 4-night out-of-town gig for her and Skeevie.

What I DON'T get is why CC is promoting this as a "run with Kate, sign up and details to follow," when there is NO value-added to their offer--besides the $5 off (for a limited time!) and a free T-shirt. It is, at BEST, misleading, and at worst, fraudulent. If their definition of "running with Kate" is, "you'll be in the same corral with her, but we can't guarantee a handshake or even a hello," then they should be SAYING that on their offer. Not making you go through hoops to sign up and THEN filling you in on the "real" reality via private e-mail.

This. Is. NONSENSE. What ever happened to "truth in advertising"? Obviously, it's not been heard of amongst the 30-somethings in charge at CouponCabin. No honor among thieves, and boy have they ever found a kindred spirit in their mascot, "Momma G."

Aw, you know what? I don't really know who's going to sign up for a 5K in late July in Chicago at 6:30 on a Saturday morning, and I don't really care. Hopefully, it'll end up being only the guy going around the block for the paper and a coffee with his dog AND the CC staff. They deserve it.

I wonder where the Gosselin kids started out. I see they started in a pack, and at least the 8 year olds finished in a pack. No self-pacing allowed, I guess. That seems unnatural and way too controlled to me. I would want to do this sort of thing with my friends and pace myself at my most comfortable speed.

Most runners keep running the same race to beat their PR, or they start small and increase their mileage while increasing their endurance. My daughter started out with 5K's,then 10K's, then halves, and now is hoping to run the NYC marathon and then the Boston one. She is not qualified to run NYC and Boston due to her running times-but she can run by joining up with a charity team. Something I doubt we will ever see Kate do.

I don't know. It doesn't seem that bad when you're in it. And if they're all wearing the same t-shirts, it would be very easy to find them. I have run for WorldVision previously and could pick out their shirts along the route very easily. Same with Leukemia/Lymphoma Society team shirts. It's very easy to spot someone with matching t-shirts. There's absolutely no excuse for Kate not to at least say hello to her fans in the corral. None.

The website for the Chicago race doesn't list any time limit for this race. There is also mini marathon in Virginia Beach in September, that does state that the course time limit is 45 minutes. It could be that no time limit is stated yet because the course is still awaiting approval.

So assume that the race will be over in approx. 45 minutes. Why can't Kate have a short meet and greet after it's over? Or will she be too too busy doing her press intervies and picture posing?

Kate plays on the gullibility of her fans. She apparently has schooled CC in how to say things, so when the truth comes out it can be stated "we never said that".

Perhaps, this might be the wake up call that the fans need.

Luke's Mom said... 187

I am not a runner but even I can recognize that a true runner or one claiming to have the dream of promoting running blah blah blah would have started out running as many LOCAL 5Ks and 10Ks and then advancing to 1/2 marathons onto full marathons.

In the 1st video today, PATHETIC Kate says that she has run "Marathons" - Plural - not one.

She ran only one. The ONLY other race she ran was a HALF it was NOT a Marathon. A "Marathon" by definition is 26 miles not 13. She ran ONE marathon. Not plural.

It would be the same as someone claiming to have more than one college degree because they earned one degree in four years and then went to college for two more years but not finishing. It is still just ONE degree.

Hey Kate, you ran just ONE marathon! Stop the lies! And I am not even sure if she did really run the FULL...

According to the RocknRoll website, runners can board "a “sag wagon” shuttle to move forward on the course, where they may continue to participate in the event, maintaining the minimum pace required". I know this was discussed alot last Fall but there is still no real proof that she did NOT board the "sag wagon" to move forward during the marathon.

I think it is also very telling that she downgraded from a FULL marathon to a HALF more than 6 months later with not one race inbetween. Makes you wonder even more if she really did run the FULL like she claims.

I have co-workers and friends who run races, including Marathons. And they do it while working FULL time jobs and raising their families including volunteering and participating in their children's activities and sports. Kate can barely run two races even though she claims it is her new (snark) passion while having no job, no involvement in her community/church/school/children's sports or clubs...

Doesn't sound like much of a "Passion" to me.

Kate has created an episode in her head that she is the new fitness mom and runs marathons now. Does she not see how said it is that her made-up life does not match reality? PATHETIC KATE!

I should have said. Whoever posted the videos of the mile run "gets it"/is smarter than Rod Dixon, who invited the witch, because the comment sections are disabled on both videos.

Admin....Corrals are huge, tightly packed spaces with people focused on the task at hand, their race. Standing in a crowded corral is not the time for a "meet and greet" with a former reality tv star, especially a gum-snapping phoney like Kate.

I ran a race here in Vancouver several years ago, looked over and saw the Premier of our province standing in my corral. Other than thinking he would be running at my pace, I remained focused on my run. Having Kate and her trusty bodyguard in a corral looking for a photo-op will piss off real runners, believe me.

This up-comping run of hers in Chicago is just another attempt at re-branding herself as the high-priestess of fitness, an expert marathoner, and a nutritional expert, all of which is preposterous to everyone but Kate of course. She actually believes she is a qualified expert now.

Her next move will be a letter to Michelle Obama asking for her help in pitching a family-fitness show. This new show will focus around Kate inspiring her 8 kids toward a life of healthy living. It will feature Kate in the kitchen preparing organic meals, snacks, healthy (and enviable) school lunches. While the kids are at school, Kate can show viewers her daily, personal fitness routine, AND then watch her travel the world running marathons!

Oh, and she'll seal this letter to the White House with an even BIGGER kiss.

Uh, why would the G8 find crossing the finish line exhilarating when running this mile wasn't their goal in the first place? It was a meaningful accomplishment for every kid who wanted to be there and worked hard for this. The G8? Not so much.

And Stevie poo looks like the biggest asshat out there. He is desperate to have a purpose, I guess.

chefsummer, you're right, I stand corrected. Snooki is much more accomplished than Kate and would not waste her money on useless Steve! LOL

Just a couple of blurbs about the race Kate is running Sunday:

The challenges: It's usually hot because the race doesn't start until its traditional time of 1 p.m. in deference to Sunday morning church services. Sunday's forecast is sunny with a high of 82 and a chance of showers or thunderstorms. Also, the Gallows Lane hill, coming in the last mile of the race, is one of the most difficult road race hills to conquer, certainly in Connecticut.

Kate doesn't have an excuse not to go to church.
_________
Warning from the race's website:

•We strongly suggest that if the day turns out to be hot and humid and you have not trained in that type of weather, you do not run.

Kate may have an excuse not to run.
_____

This race is also filmed by the same company that did the kids race. I looked at last year's videos, and they only show the start, and then just the runners finishing. Too bad, I wanted to see Kate struggle up that Hill.

If anyone's interested this is a video made in March where a local runner explains the race and shows the course. I can not see Kate making it up that hill!

Forgot to add-You can see the hill at approx 1:31 in the video.

I see Milo keeps calling it the Litchfield Hill. She could at least get the name right-It's the Gallow's Hill. Not at bad as Heartbreak Hill in the Boston Marathon, but it's a big one.

She is probably looking at the weather, heard about the challenging hill, is trying to manage 8 unhappy, duped kids and re-thinking this run tomorrow.

She might suddenly have a sick child to take care of tomorrow, and being the caring mother she is, take a pass on this one. However, she could arrange a quick, last-minute lunch and wish everyone good luck!

Since we all know your job is tweeting and reading about yourself, I would like to say to you....Congratulations Kate! You have proven that you are MEDIOCRE in everything you try to do since TLC FIRED you:

Running - Mediocre
Cooking - Mediocre
Menus/Recipes - Mediocre
Nutrition - Mediocre
Holiday decorating - Mediocre
Party Planning - Mediocre
Crafts/Easter Baskets - Mediocre
Holiday Baking - Mediocre
Website - Mediocre
Using Coupons - Mediocre
Writing a blog - Mediocre
Interviews - Um Not even like um good enough to um like be like um Mediocre

Hey Kate, didn't you say "Mediocre" was not good enough for your kids? So why do you keep giving them "Mediocre" in everything you claim you do for them?

And sadly, Kate, why do you offer them less than "mediocre" when it comes to:
Spring Break
Halloween Trick or Treating,
Beach vacations,
Clothes that fit the boys
Winter gloves that fit,
Taking your kids to the movies,
Enrolling the kids in sports, clubs, and other activities,
Spending time with the kids instead of on twitter,
And most importantly respecting and protecting your kids privacy

Kate, you have tweeted enough that there is no doubt what you do is "MEDIOCRE". And unfortunately for you Kate, you have also provided enough information on twitter to show that you have nothing to offer that is even close to being unique, talented or marketable. Instead you show that you refuse to invest the time and energy into developing any real skills. Even your latest attempt as MarathonMom is lame and more talk than action.

It is very PATHETIC that you continue to believe someone will give you a TV show just because you say you want one. Don't you get that what they hear is that you are lazy, entitled, and will not put any effort into EARNING a show? And they hear and see you as MEDIOCRE!

I see you as PATHETIC. And I am sure I am not alone.

My thoughts again-- only regarding the lack of accomplishments, on Kate's part. The Mommy *Stahs* in Hollywood I mentioned earlier, have to do something to continually exist in the spotlight. So they cruise the city weekly, to remain relevant. Others (Julia Roberts, et al) just be. No work required... to stay in the A-List.
