Kate was spotted with Rod Dixon running in Sunday's race, which included the famous Gallow's Hill.
Kate tweeted: Btw,my unofficial X 4 10K=1:08:48..a bit slow but am still recovering from 1/2 marathon last wk..would've run slower but Rod encour me thru!

Meanwhile, the acclaimed local newspaper The Reading Eagle, which has been on to the Gosselin scam for years, has a fantastic article about the increasingly accepted notion we have often discussed here, parental alienation. Here is an excerpt:
Dawn Palange is a partner with Palange & Endres P.C. and chairwoman of the Family Law Section of the Berks County Bar Association. During 23 years of practicing law Palange said she has seen many cases of parental alienation, sometimes called parental alienation syndrome, and she believes it is becoming increasingly common.
"For some reason there seems to be more animosity between divorcing couples than there used to be," Palange said.
Parental alienation, which Palange described as "a parent acting in a way that's intended to turn a child away from the other parent," is a situation that hurts everyone involved. Once instituted, she said, it can cause lifelong emotional scarring.
"I know young people in their late 20s who are victims of parental alienation, and I've seen some of the baggage they're carrying because of it," Palange said. "It's not a good situation at all."
That baggage, experts say, can include damaged self-esteem, depression, an inability to achieve healthy relationships, a lack of trust, substance abuse problems, increased divorce rates and an inability to develop good relationships with their own children.
Dr. Larry Rotenberg, a Reading Hospital forensic psychiatrist, said that a parent who engages in parental alienation to the point that it destroys his or her own child's relationship with the other parent has lost sight of the damage his or her actions are causing.
"The eagerness to combat the other parent exceeds all other motivation and blinds them to seeing the harm they're causing to their child," Rotenberg said.
Frank put it another way when talking about his ex-wife. "She hates me more than she loves her children," he said.
Robert M. Gordon, an Allentown psychoanalyst and forensic psychologist who has conducted extensive research on parental alienation, said that people who practice parental alienation suffer from borderline personality disorder (BPD), a serious mental disorder.

«Oldest ‹Older 1201 – 1244 of 1244 Newer› Newest»Lauren, I wanted to comment about House Hunters. I remember when it came out awhile back that the final house was already selected and that it was all pretend. In a way I understand it because so many home purchases fall through for a variety of reasons, why does that NEVER happen on that show? Of course it's because they come in once the family already owns the home and isn't at risk of losing it. With literally hundreds of episodes on that show, it's no wonder several people have spilled the beans it's fake.
Like I said when I was traveling through London Gatwick airport I saw a reality show filming security guards and instructing them to walk down a hall. When the shot was over, the turned around and walked the other way.
Part of me wonders if House Hunters would be just as successful if they would be honest with their viewers. This is the house we picked, and these were the houses we were thinking about. Instead of, wonder which house we will pick!
Really that segment on House Hunters international where they pick which house they will get as they take a romantic stroll through a European park, can be painfully fake. They need better actors.
Many thanks to whoever suggested Tim Dorsey's Florida books. Readerlady? My branch library's 2 oldest titles were "Triggerfish Twist" and "Torpedo Juice" so I will have to request the first 3 to get caught up. They are so weird but I'm unable to stop reading and waiting to see what happens next.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before but when I was watching the first (longer) video, at the 6:28 point when you see the kids and Kate, in the background to the right it looks like Steve walking along the area where people were standing watching the students, as if he was afraid someone might jump out and go after Kate. Anyone else notice that; does it look like Steve?
Wait let me see if I have this straight. Kate goes to the movies with her older daughters , who are becoming her"best friends ", goes out at night without a bodyguard to a theater some distance away, she is not mopped by crazy small town moms and their kids because how can they not when is she is THE GREAT KATE GOSSELIN! But more importantly how can they see the movie with all the flashbulbs from Chris's cameras behind them?
Kate didn't you say you could never go back to your old life? Well your back,
except without Jon!

was it Logan's run?
"The other theater showing it is not a discount theater. It's a very nice, beautiful theater. I would suspect that this is the one she chose since the discount theater is actually in Willow Street, PA, close to Lancaster, but a bit farther."
By the time she drove all the way to Willow Street, she would've used up so much gas, it would've been better to just go somewhere closer and more expensive.
I just hope I never see her, since she comes to so many places around where I live!!! So far, so good. :)

there is also a book by Stephen King the walk I think it's called

stepping off soapbox now=)
OK, I guess I misunderstood about them already seeing the movie. The Hunger Games triology is a very good read. Couldn't put it down.
She had no business tweeting during a movie. It must have annoyed people sitting close by. Very arrogant.
It could be true that the tups are at ONE friend's house. My son played with boys and girls at that age. That's one brave mom to put up with all those kids. Probably a sleepover. No wonder Kate was on Cloud Nine.
I wonder if Steve went to the movies too? Hee, hee.
Lancaster Mom; You know Jon doesn't live in Wyomissing anymore right?
I did a Google directions search to get the mileage although I've driven down near to his house plenty of times to go Furniture Shopping. I live closer to where Kate does. I thought if Kate took 422 down to 175....The drive from Kate's to Jon's is nearly 1/2 hour. He lives out in the boonies, very private off the main roads. Google Maps has it listed as 29 minutes (depends on traffic).
Also, just for the record: He's about the same distance from the kids' school as Kate's house is as well (I know someone said that he lived closer) They are both a little over 45 minutes away from the school.
BTW, Jon doesn't live in Mohnton either. Although there are some really nice homes out there. Some stupid online article had his home as being in Mohnton, but it's not - idiots at those online rags don't know JACK at times. But it's good because it allows Jon for his privacy and mediocrity. Maybe that's where his mom moved? Who knows?
Oh, and thanks for the welcome back...I've just got one of those stupid summer colds due to the up and down of the weather, (although it could be allergies as well). Too much rain.
Oh, and Lancaster Mom, sorry about not knowing which theater she was at. *blush* I haven't been to any movies in Lancaster so I wouldn't know if one discount showing place would be nicer than the other. It still sucks that Kate makes her kids wait to see one of the biggest movies of the year. Thanks for your insight. :)
Janet, Steve has to at least "pretend" he's earning his money. It sure is strange that she travels all over the local area by herself or with a few kids, but can't manage those airplane rides and hotel stays without Steve. I've run across some real celebrities in airports and NEVER have I seen them with a bodyguard/road manager, only with family or alone. She is quite full of herself. Real celebrities want to blend in and not draw attention.
Okay, totally off thread here, but the second mention of weed killer has gotten my on my soap box. No offense intended to anyone, but...
Please don't use that popular weed killer or any other of that company's products without making an informed decision. Google the company and learn about them before you support them please. It's really important. Learn about them and their corporate practices and what herbicide does to the environment. Thank you.
Also, for weed killer, distilled white vinegar works just as well, is cheaper and much better for the environment. Spray some on or pour some on and then come back the next day and pull out the dead weed. Pulling weeds is the best way to get rid of them. (As usual, the hardest work is the best way)
Thanks, Berks Neighbor. Great that the tab article was wrong about where Jon lives. He seems to be keeping a low profile and that's good for the kids. I thought it was terrible that a pap would wait outside his apartment to take pictures a few years back. Frankly, I always doubted it was Jon's doing, but Kate's. Revenge is her middle name.
The kids had to be with Jon..what kids have play dates starting at 8:00 at night, and lasting until 10:30-11:00? If it is so, must be odd people.
Janet...I'd noticed that man walking along the side of the crowd also, and wondered if it was Steve-a-rino doing his Secret Service act.
I think M and C are going to outgrow their best friend Kate before long- they are at the age where they want to do (safe) thing with their peers and not have mom tag along. I remember this stage- I would have to lurk and be ready to pick them up and be in the vicinity at the mall etc, movies, sports events, local fun but they could go to the park or somewhere in the neighborhood and keep in touch by cell. It's a time of worry but you have to let them spread their wings. Kate has just allowed them a minimal amount of normal pre-teen activity with her so far...
Once a Viewer, you are absolutely correct. My kids did not want mommy anywhere near them in those early preteen years. I, too, had to lurk in the parking lot to pick them up. If Kate hasn't already embarrassed them, it will soon happen. I am embarrassed by how she dresses, so I can only imagine what the boys say to C and M.

Thanks for this. We love our gardens, don't we? We like to keep the pests & weeds at bay. It's important, though, to take care of the entire planet, as well as our own garden patches.
You might want to read this article about using vinegar as weed control. Lots of good information about formulations, and a few cautions. LOL, I've learned through trial and errors (mostly) that no one method is foolproof/perfect:

I think it's interesting the world's outrage over someone misrepresenting their situation and got freebies like housing, a cell phone and clothes. Yet no outrage from many people over a wealthy woman living in a mansion who gets similar freebies all the time.

Sorry Kate they learned to complain and be disrespectful from you. There's no reasons kids this age can't behave for a quick lesson unless they've learned from their parents other behavior is acceptable.
I did not have a problem taking C and M to the movies, but I did have a problem with her tweeting about it. Ridiculous for someone who has a "bodyguard"! Once again I scratch my head as to what role Steve actually does play.

She retweets a tweet that says "stop complaining", but then she complains about everyone complaining.
Oh wait-I think I get it now-She wants everyone else to stop complaining-but she can complain all she wants.
Do you suppose while she had them around the table for that simple lesson this am, she also brought out the craft supplies and helped them make Father's Day cards for their dad? Right, that would not be about HER. Still, nice thought, not happening.
Sounds like she's running with friends all weekend. Imaginary friends?
a 'literacy' lesson from Kate? I'd complain too!
or maybe the kids were giving in HER one, lol
What's a literacy lesson? Is that where Kate incorrectly corrects soneone's grammar? And maybe the kids are complaining and groaning because of the delivery of said lesson from an unqualified teacher with no clue and no sensitivity.
Was the reference to her crying "90 times" and Mady holding her hand to the movie last night? Mady sure is wanting to please her mom. I get it. Walking on eggshells, no yelling, if you pay attention to mom and do her bidding.
Running this weekend with ?friends? Sounds like Jon has the kids. Well, she hasn't run with anyone locally, always alone, so my guess is that she is travelling somewhere (with Stevie in tow).

Good advice.
We stopped using chemicals on our lawn years ago. The idea of allowing our babies & pets crawl or play on chemically treated grass made us nervous. So pulling weeds was/is a no-brainer.
Someone a couple days ago asked what fertilizer I was using for my plants but I keep forgetting to answer. I don't use a store-bought fertilizer, organic or not. I'm experimenting with growing my plants without buying fertilizer, so I've used ideas from gardening blogs like mixing human hair into the soil, lol. Right now I have five green cherry tomatoes ready to turn red and about 20 yellow flowers. If forgoing Miracle Grow means I only get 50 tomatoes instead of 100 that's ok with me.

But I don't blame them. It must be hard being quizzed while cleaning the floors, dusting the furniture, doing the dishes, making the beds, and cleaning the bathrooms.

Kate said that she cried "90 times" in the movie (glad she was counting) and Mady held her hand the whole time. Just WTF?! Who is the parent here and why does crying in a movie require hand holding?
Last night I watched "Taking Chance" (thank you all for the suggestion) and cried like a baby especially at the end. I did not require any hand holding but as an Army wife I did say a prayer for the escorts and those that work with casualty assistance. They've got a hard job.

Aww poor thing. I wonder if, when they got home they had to put her to bed after a massage and a glass of warm milk and brandy.
Then there was the skywalk jump...waaa waaa waaa (like Dayana Mendoza's imitation of Lisa Mussolini crying). Mady immediately ran to her side.
Once again Parentifaction epitomized. She really does think the entire world owes her, but mostly her children for having the honor of having her for a mother. Gawd she irritates me.

You are so right about letting kids spread their wings. For lack of a better comparison, I liken it to those retractable dog leashes. You let the leash out a little and see how your kids handle new experiences and a bit more freedom. If they do ok, you can keep the leash at that length or let it out a little more. They blow it, then you just have to reel it back in.
Kate is soon going to have a house full of teenagers, six the same age. She is going to have her hands full and I truly wish her all the luck in the world with that. However, with the authoritarian parenting style she seems to currently subscribe to, I think she's going to add insult to injury to the challenges of raising teens. I predict she's going to rule and regulate them to no end, which just encourages sneaky, lying adolecents.

Exactly! She does want everyone to stop complaining about her- period. This is just absolutely so rich from someone who is NEVER happy with what she has.
As with the other @Notebook tweet about my life, my mistakes, my choices, blah, blah, blah... instead of being bitter about her detractors she should be thanking us. If no one spoke up on behalf of her kids, the PA Dept of Labor wouldn't have discovered that her kids were WORKING, yet not having any of THEIR money put away for them. Which led the way for a PA state representative to draft legislation preventing other parents from mistakenly saying "playing for the cameras" wasn't work. These actions were quite beneficial to her kids and Kate the "rule honorer" or whatever should be grateful these transgressions were brought to light and corrected.

Where was it reported that the kids had play dates beginning at 8 p.m.? She was sitting in the theater at 8 p.m. If she went to the Lancaster theater, she could have dropped the kids off at their friend's house in the late afternoon, went shopping or had an early supper before the show. There's really nothing strange about that.

So, I take it that your were there with her then, that you know all of the details, and everyone else is wrong? Why so snippy..it's just a blog, not life and deaht.
well, Kate tweeted they were 'anticipating an evening of fun' so...that's right, it's not a big deal, just supposition that the playdate was a late-ish one. Her kids are used to going to bed early. But sure they had fun with their 'best friend.' M and C had fun with theirs. ;)
"So, I take it that your were there with her then, that you know all of the details, and everyone else is wrong? Why so snippy..it's just a blog, not life and deaht."
-----
I asked a question (which has not been answered). I didn't see it reported that the playdate began at 8 p.m. and wondered where that came from, considering that according to the timeline, she was in the movie theater then. I also gave an explanation of how a playdate could have started before that time, if she was in Lancaster and dropped the kids off at their friends home late in the day or very early evening. I never even suggested I was there or knew any of this to have occurred.
It was not intended to be snide nor snippy. It was just a question and a comment.

Finally sat down and viewed the you tube moments of Kate and her kids running with Mr. B.G. trying to get 2 of the little kids to participate cause they were not happy.
At the end or toward the end Kate was pulling 2 little girls and they were trying to keep up with the king Kongish person she is.
How do you take your kids to a little town like Litchfield, where most of the kids knew of each other or schools and pluck your 8 down in the middle of all of them and expect them to have fun? These kids never played with friends until this year with school mates, but once they get home I assume they only play with each other.
Then Kate running, I thought I was going to wet myself. Like who the hell is she that she runs with the Dixon guy as if she is special. Lord that woman has to go away and stay away. She is not one to look up to me, she is an idiot who cannot and will not just realize she is a JOKE, lmao over her twitter comments about ignoring the haters.
