On April 7 Kate tweeted this:
“@XXXX you're so energetic miss gardener:) tomorrow we plant our organic veges inside then will move outside when they sprout yay!”
However today, when someone asked if she had a garden, she tweeted this:
"no but my kids seem to think we need one"
Oh no she didn't! |
According to studies, small embellishments can have positive psychological effects. In a 2008 study, researchers found that college students who exaggerated their GPA in interviews later showed improvement in their grades. Their fiction, in other words, became self-fulfilling. "Exaggerators tend to be more confident and have higher goals for achievement," said Richard Gramzow, a psychologist at the University of Southampton in England and one of the study's coauthors. "Positive biases about the self can be beneficial." People who deceive themselves also tend to be happier than people who do not, some research suggests. There are social payoffs, too: Studies have shown that people who lie frequently are viewed as friendlier and more amiable than their more truthful counterparts.
Kate's web of lies has caught up with her time and time again, and yet something keeps driving her to keep on spinning them. Is it because it makes her happier to put up such a facade?

The refusal to take baby items just proves my point about how paranoid and litigious we have become. We hear one scary story about a broken high chair tray and a kid falling out and all of a sudden NO MORE USED BABY ITEMS. Now, perfectly decent baby items are in the trash, and mothers on a budget are spending more than they can afford for new things.
I totally agree with Heather, there is nothing wrong with these items.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
My mother received a lovely, all metal, highchair at her babyshower when she was pregant with ME in the 50's. It went through my mother's 4 children. Then it came to MY house and was the only highchair I ever had for my own four kids. At the start of every pregancy I would take it appart, sandblast and repaint the painted parts, and recover the covered seats, replace the rubber washers etc. As I am typing this, I am looking at that highchair right now, still in the condition i packed it away in 24 years ago. I am going to refurbish it, AGAIN, and my great neice will sit in it when she visits me while her daddy is working. Not one accident of any kind has ever happened in this chair.
On the other hand, my great niece was with her mother; she put the baby is one of those super duper brand new $$$$$$ highchairs, and then passed out drunk. Baby eventually tried to climb out and hit the floor and had to be taken to the ER. All those safety features on the expensive new chair didnt protect that angel from a bad mother.
My mother just bought some lovely oil cloth for me to cover this chair with. 3 generations of safe babies in this chair.
Also you can buy brand-new items and have them recalled. I had baby monitors for years, then they were recalled as starting spontaneous fires!! I won't put the name in here, but it was a popular reputable baby item company.
Dwindle: That's awful! I hope she was ok ( the baby I mean)
Car seats are one baby item that have expiration dates. Most car seats have expiration dates that are 5-6 years from the date of manufacture.
I am enjoying how very agreeable you are being!!
---------------
What's really funny is that they get upset when you agree and try to keep it going by deflecting to something else! The best thing to do is to agree. It may be difficult not to take the bait, but arguing gets you nowhere and it's just what they want.
Car seats are one baby item that have expiration dates. Most car seats have expiration dates that are 5-6 years from the date of manufacture.
--------------
Mine doesn't, and it was purchased less than a year ago. I wonder why it doesn't. I always keep the boxes so I can check the recall list. The stroller I had purchased was just part of a recall. I could either return it for a refund or get an adapter of some kind to install. I didn't trust that, so I returned it and got another brand.
Formely Duped exactly, people buy things new all the time and then something awful happens and it gets recalled.
I'm a big believer in saving money by buying gently used all around. Dave Ramsey is one who heavily advocates this. I have had pretty good luck with this. Amazon.com is a treasure trove of gently used items. Especially with things like electronics, cameras, etc., there are people out there who upgrade every three months and are always throwing perfectly decent equipment on amazon for a steal. My iphone, camera, various video games my car, mountain bike, and a good portion of my clothes were all "gently used." Or as I say, gently loved! :)
As for my used car, a recall did indeed come out on it, but it didn't come out until a few years after I bought it. They sent me a letter and I went in to get it fixed, no big deal.
To me it's just common sense. Know how old it is and how much it was used, google it online to make sure there are no recalls or other issues, if it's a car get a carfax report, do a thorough check with your eyes and hands and then just make a good judgment call. Most mothers can handle this.

Admin -- is there something wrong with Blogger? I've had several posts swallowed whole and I see others complaining of the same thing. I just tried to post something and got a weird message that it couldn't go through because more than one person was editing it??
Jumping In -- I'm 64, 5'1" and I LIKE sparkly cats on my Tee shirts, or at least on one or two, LOL.
I'm just having a hard time grasping the idea that 2 chilcken breasts feeds 8 kids! What did she do?
-----------------
Didn't she have four chicken breasts for eight kids? I think it depends on the size of the breasts! I've bought some that put Kate's "girls" to shame! Seriously, when cut in half, one half could easily be enough for a young child, especially if served with potatoes, veggies, corn bread and salad. I've given them whole chicken breasts that they couldn't finish, and mine are very good eaters!
Do keep this in mind about car seats though. I cannot tell you how many child endangerment charges I've seen from cops who pull over mothers and discover a baby in the back not in a car seat. And tragically there was a death a few years back, as I'm sure there have been others, in this case it went to the appellate court and the opinion can be read online, is public record. I think I would rather these struggling mothers be able to buy a used car seat for cheap than no car seat at all.

Dwindle the funniest was their insistence Kate is not so bad of a mom and a demand for examples of Kate being a bad mom, but when given an example not just from that day but from that very hour, instead of trying to explain how that's not an example of Kate being a bad mom, reverted back to the mantra LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE! So I guess they agree she's a bad mom, but we should just leave her alone.
So the point of asking for examples was? To point out we should leave her alone?
I am less annoyed with the sheeple as time goes on and more just amused. And agreeing with them is funny.
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
2 of my daughters went through that MEAN TO ME stage at about 13 years old.It lasted for months and months with both of them. With the first one, we tried "dealing" with it. For about a week. After that we just AGREED AGREED AGREED and laughed it off and when the next one started it, we did the same.
PARENTAL UNIT: Honey, have you finished your homework
DEAR DAUGHTER: Why are you always so MEAN TO ME?! You are always picking on me!
PU: It's your turn to clear the table.
DD: (See above re MEAN TO ME)
PU: So, who is going to this party you want to go to?
DD: (see above re MEAN TO ME)
PU: Dont forget to call your grandma today for her birthday.
DD: (see above re MEAN TO ME)
Well, you get the idea. Each time we would reply that yes, we were intentionally being mean and we stayed up late each night thinking up new ways to pick on you; last night we decided we would be mean to you by asking about your homework.
That is exactly what these 2 or 3 drop in sheeple remind me of. They rant, they rave, they call names, they question your heritage and whether or not your parents were ever married, and the minute you respond with "Today is Saturday and the sky is cloudy", you get "Why are you all so MEAN TO ME?? All you ever do is pick on Kate!"
The thing is though, my teenagers all grew up. They all stopped that crap by age 16 at the latest. And we all joke about it now. Is there a tone? You're being mean to me! I see my sister is still your favorite. You arent going to make THAT dinner and try to kill me again are you? These are loving jokes we have that make fun of ourselves and remind us of sillier times.
It boggles my mind that grown women can be so incredibly childish, but it is just hard for me to take them seriously. Once they start with that "mean to me and picking on me" stuff, i just start cracking up and as far as I am concerned, the sheeple poster is now fair game. If you are going to act like a child, i will treat you as one.

I read this as "Rum Springa." Guess I have it "on the brain!"
From the Real Fashion Real Women FB site:
"We are proud to announce our first celebrity role model; a mom, entrepreneur & media personality Kate Gosselin. Join us on September 12, 2012 as Kate walks for Bottomless Closet NYC. Buy Your Tickets now - all proceeds to Bottomless Closet NYC.
Entrepreneur? Really? Definition of Entrepreneur:
1. a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk.
2. an employer of productive labor; contractor.
I guess if you consider her the employer of productive labor(her children), then yes she could be called an "entrepreneur".
Midnight I've never seen organic chicken breasts that big. They are tiny. As are all organic chicken cuts. They have not tried the better bra! Or the better hormones.
Dwindle how funny! I'm beginning to believe that agreeing is actually better than ignoring. Seriously, what better way to shut down the debate. If you always agree then the other person just looks like they are having an argument with themselves, lol.
It boggles my mind this sheeple claims she has kids. I think I know exactly who it is, and they need serious help.
Ok so there are about 40 episodes of Teen Mom on Netflix streaming I discovered .... Kristine should i brave it? I've heard it's addicting.
Entrepreneur baw-hahahahaa. Of WHAT?
Are you still an entrepreneur if absolutely every project you touch goes to shit? Or are you really just a failure.
Hey wait a minute if what's her face from Real Housewives is there do you think they will be filming? I'd love to see Kate make a cameo maybe get in some kind of fight with someone.

Mild concussion but all ok now. ER staff called police on the drunk mom and she was jailed. Now, only supervised visits between baby and mama. People allowed to do the supervising have to be approved by the court. i am one of them, so that is why I am pulling out all the baby stuff i can get my hands on, she is spending more time here with me (YAY!) while her daddy,my nephew, is working his 2 jobs.
It boggles my mind that grown women can be so incredibly childish, but it is just hard for me to take them seriously.

What about the war between the sheeple and the haters (on Twitter and other anti-Kate blogs)? I can get downright ugly. It is so childish. These are supposedly grown women who are parents to young children or who have raised kids. There are threats of lawsuits flying, and some of the sheeple leaders (the harmless, sweet little old lady ones) may go too far one of these days and find themselves where they don't want to be. When it comes to making threats to the safety of the opposite side, nothing good is going to come of it, and I think perhaps that point will be here sooner than later. It not is only creepy, but frightening.

Check on the bottom of the car seat. Most have either a label or it is stamped on the bottom of the car seat. It may just have a date of manufacture-with expiration being considered 5-6 years from the date of manufacture. Also, check the owners' manual.

Oh you just know she WILL!!!! Instead of presenting herself as a mature, pushing 40, mother and philanthropist, she will deliberatly act like a $10 street walker, screeching an attitude and spouting off crap. ANYTHING to get the media's attention.
After I saw that video and report on that Tanning Mom, I see more that she and Kate have in common.
Oh, Reader Leader! Hi! I'm so glad you're there... I have a favor to ask: would you be so nice to remind me the name of the detective novels serie you recommended a few blogs ago. The hero was a young woman (working for an insurance compagny? Somewhere on the West Coast? I'm not sure...) contemporary, witty and self-deprecating? I'll be working in the garden all day ( going after the vines with a machete... and a vengeance, I guess) and I just know I won't be good for anything else than curling with a good book for the two next days.
Thanks in advance... ;D
Tanning mom is mental.
I wonder if Kate will try to get a spot on Real Housewives. Is there a Real Housewives of Reading in the works?
I loosely follow other celeb news, but isn't it common to have your fringe groups with every controversial celeb? I'm not sure this is all that unusual with Kate. I mean we all heard about the fighting when Kristin Stewart cheated.
The twitter in-fighting really, really is mind numbing and boring. I could care less. Especially if it happens to most celebs. I don't even like it copied and pasted here. When someone tries to come play in this sandbox however it's fair game.
One of Kate's tweeties tweeted the following:
"Its a gr8 cause...& another NEW experience 4Kate! Her DWTS training will help here! :)"
I will not name names, but this really made me giggle.
Dwindle-I remember when you told us of the incident with your great-niece. I am very happy to hear that the mother is only allowed supervised visits.
Bottomless Closet. A prefect venue for Kate since with her flat ass, she is virtually BOTTOMLESS.
All this gr8 talk is gr8ing on my nerves ( along with the YUMMY dinner K8 had last night) I always think Grade 8, being from Canada...
Kate has 'lot' planned today, so I guess her head clog went 'right round the bend.' Was that Drano's jungle?
She mad a snarky remark about her 'too much coffee' hehe.

Readerlady -- I've gotten this quite a few times in the past couple of days. I think it might be that someone else is trying to post at exactly the same time. Admin?
The spam folder is being over active. I'll try to clean it out this weekend.
Kate is desperate to stay relevant in show business. She will stay on the "fringes" in the hope of being rediscovered. It's quite obvious that she will go for broke, really, because she is so delusional about herself. She is no role model for anyone. We see through this and so do others. I better take another break. Just don't have anything nice to say. I have no respect for anyone who has been handed a "goldmine" and has frittered it away. Some lovely people came and went in their lives because of Kate. It's all caught on film. Her only claim to fame is having 8 kids and making it for a time on TLC. She needs to find a job, be it only "mediocre." There is no disgrace in working. Role models come from that realm.
Entrepreneur? Kate? Well, I guess if Grifting is a business.
Oh my, out to dinner with new friends. And a besty sleepover with a daughter. Why does some or all of this feel oh just a little false? Meh to her this weekend,

Come to Lancaster County, baby items definitely would find a good home here!
We have friends who have a bench outside their house & when they have something they no longer need, it's put outside with a "free" sign on. Most things aren't even there for a day. They've even had other people in the neighborhood put items on the bench to be given away. :)
Oh, grrrrr. I can't find the comment by someone who wanted to know the name of the author who writes about the female insurance investigator who lives in CA. Didn't want to butt in but I haven't seen the request answered. The author is Sue Grafton. Her character is Kinsey Millhone. They're delightful books. Hope whoever asked finds this.

Hmmmmmmm...to me it sounds kinda like what went on with Kate & Kevin....

http://shine.yahoo.com/love-sex/8-words-most-liars-210400115.html
Lie detection expert Janine Driver, author of the new book, You Can't Lie to Me, fills us in on the words that give away a liar.
By Korin Miller
"Left"
Sure, sometimes 'left' is the only word you can use in a situation, but there's some kind of drama involved when he uses it in place of another word that will do (think: "I left the bar at six" vs. "I went home at six"). It could be due to his desire to "leave" the lie behind.
"Never"
The big thing to look out for is when he says "never" when "no" will do. It's a sign he's overcompensating. For example, if you ask, "Did you just look at that girl's butt?" and he says, "Never!"
"That"
Like never, it depends on how he uses it. If he puts "that" in front of a noun, like "that woman" or "that money," it's a subconscious attempt for him to distance himself from the word. This is a common trick of manipulators.
"Would"
If he skips "no" and goes straight to "I would never do something like that!" when talking about a past event, be wary. For example, "Are you still talking to your ex?" "I would never do that to you!" "Would never" suggests that he plans to do it in the future.
"Yes, ma'am"
If your guy is a Southern gentleman, then this doesn't apply. But if he suddenly says "ma'am" to you out of nowhere, be cautious. It's a sign that he feels like he's feeling stressed and knows he's in trouble.
"By the way…"
Liars use phrases like this to try to minimize what they say next-but usually it's what's most important to the story. Pay extra attention to what he says afterward.
"But"
Liars usually try to downplay what they say with this word, so pay attention when he says something like, "I know this is going to sound strange, but…" or "I know you think I'm lying, but…"
"Why would I do that?"
It's a favorite stalling line of liars, so they can buy a little time to work out what to say next. These phrases also fit the bill: "What kind of person do you think I am?", "Are you calling me a liar?", and "I knew this was going to happen to me!"
Gosh I hope this doesn't happen to Kate if she's wearing her hooker heels.

Kate's letting us know she's NOT as socially inept or snobbish as we've been saying she is. LOL
Globe gate totally changed the perception his siblings would have against him, and it reinforced to the girl how easy it is to blame things on the boys. ( Just like her mother)
In Home Roost, I noticed how Kate kept referencing " the boys will help" with carrying the chicken coop supplies to the coop area; the boys will carry the water ; the boys can run through the fields and in every situation, a couple of the little girls immediately stepped up and helped. kate would look at them, and it appearred she shrugged her shoulders, like oh well.
It gave the impression that she felt that "only boys" can do that kind of work.
When the young farmer man offered Kate a lighter piece of wood, Kate sneered, " I can do it".
That is a classic example of mixed messaging to those girls.
Kate wants everyone to know she can do it all ( whether she can or does is not really important, as long as you are thinki8ng that)
In Kate's mind, boys do the icky dirty work, and the girls cook and bake. Remember making her FAMOUS flag cake, only the girls got to help with that.
When these kids are older, I believe we will have a gaggle of queen bees in some form or fashion, and 3 young men scared of their own shadows and unable to be a leader in their household!
I am married to a man whose mother was so unpredictable, he is afraid to make any decisions. He will often just agree with whatever I suggest, and then when it doesnt work out because I didnt think of something, he will say, " Well I thought of that, but didnt want to say anything"... It is so frustrating. He/we are working on this, and it is MUCH better then when we first married but it is reflective of a mother who belittled his decisions. A bit different for Kate's kids, but could have the same result.
Like never, it depends on how he uses it. If he puts "that" in front of a noun, like "that woman" or "that money," it's a subconscious attempt for him to distance himself from the word. This is a common trick of manipulators.

I watch certain reality tv shows. The running joke with some of my friends involves the word “entrepreneur”. On screen, they always show the person’s name and occupation. The people that don’t have jobs are usually listed as “entrepreneur’s” or “event planners”. Seems to be code with these shows. So, I had to laugh when I saw Kate’s description above. They used the “code” for Kate.
Organza -- That was probably Julie Smith's Rebecca Schwartz series. Rebecca is an attorney. They're set in San Francisco. The first one, "Death Turns a Trick" was just released for Kindle a couple of weeks ago. They were written in the early - mid 1990's.

@Kateplusmy8 sounds like you had fun. What flavour ice cream did you have?
Does one flavor melt faster than other flavors? Who cares what flavor it was? Is she inviting herself to Kate's house for a Labor Day party and only eats vanilla?
Watch Milo asks her how much ice cream melted and if she went back to the store for more.
Yesterday she had dinner with "new" friends-today she ran into an "old" friend. Sounds like someone who is trying to convince everyone that she does indeed have "friends".
or that she does indeed speak to people that are not paid professionals in her life.
Just got back from the beach and am quickly reading the comments. Wanted to jump in about the second hand baby items. I bought my grandson's crib from the St. Vincent de Paul shop. It was second hand but it came with a brand new mattress still wrapped in the plastic covering. I paid $15.00 for the whole thing. My husband had to put it together but he is great at stuff like that. If he doesn't know how to do something, he goes on line to get directions. He made sure the sides went up and down properly and didn't slip before he would allow my grandson in it. The crib is solid and my husband said it was made better than the crib we bought for our daughter when we were living in Scotland. We never had a problem with the crib and my grandson still climbs into it now and again. And I also put bumper guards in it which is a no-no now. Guess what. They're staying in. I plan on having this crib for any future grandchildren as well.

I have to applaud you! A friend grabbed a crib from a tree lawn, no mattress, and her husband is so handy, he bolted that crib together in a bunch of extra places so safely. We could all have our next rumspringa party in there and the darn thing would hold. It's for her grandbaby when he visits.
Tweet -- Along with Grafton and Sara Paretsky, Muller pioneered the hard boiled female detective story. I like her better. McCone is a more well-rounded character and Muller has allowed her to grow and change with the series. I got tired of Grafton after a while, because Milhone is always the same. I never did get into Paretsky. I've read a few and will probably read more eventually, but she's not one of my "go to" authors. Muller I can read a second or even a third time and learn more each time.
Sometimes you get lucky with used cribs, sometimes not so much. My friend bought one at a yard sale...got a great price. Her husband is a carpenter. He had it together in no time. They tested it for strength and to make sure that the one side moved up and down with no problems and locked properly. Their child was about 18 months old at the time. My friend went in to check on him toward the end of his nap because he was screaming. The side had slipped down and his foot was somehow caught between the mattress and the corner. Thank goodness it wasn't his neck.
With cribs, too, you have to be careful of the paint used. You don't want a child chewing on lead. A few years ago some very expensive cribs were recalled after a child was poisoned by lead paint which exceeded the federal guidelines.
LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!
___________________________
There is a very interesting HBO documentary called Me @ the Zoo that came out recently. It is a fascinating portrait of internet sensation Chris Crocker, who was an uber-fan of Britney Spears and made YouTube videos where he would scream the now famous "LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!"
The film tracks Crocker's obsession with Britney and his rise to internet stardom, but it also exposes the darker side of "reality" success. Some overly involved fans of celebrities should pay close attention to what happens in Crocker's "relationship" with Britney.
Lancaster Mom! Do not go anywhere near 30/Lincoln Highway today. It's a parking lot. It's like a zoo out there. Yesterday was a walk in the park compared with today. Luckily I was able to go down Old Phila Pike and cut over on one of the side roads to get to Carters and Target. I love MY employees there and they love me! :)
I've never heard of a semi truck. We call them tractor trailers or mack trucks! Whatever they are, they were out in full force today.

I never did get into Paretsky. I've read a few and will probably read more eventually, but she's not one of my "go to" authors. Muller I can read a second or even a third time and learn more each time.
_________________________________________
Thanks for the info. I'll put Muller on my "To read" list. I enjoyed several of Grafton's books probably because I lived in So. Calif. at the time and recognized many of the areas she described. I'm looking for more novels these days, have burned out on detective stories but I know that won't last. I do think I'll try Mark Mills though. I read his first book, "Amagansett" twice and he has four more that look good. They're set in interesting times in history and various countries. Hope they're as good as his first.
I was given a crib in a hotel in Seattle for the night for my then 18 mos old son. As soon as I tested it with my hand for strength to see if it would hold him, the bottom fell out!
the hotel staff person shrugged and said that was all they had, and it was a decent place ! No discount as a baby stay free. ;(
Another time, a friend we were staying overnight with said they had a crib; well, it only had 3 sides that they could find! They thought I could just push it against a wall- for a 3 mos old!

@msgoody2shoes21 @fostermom62 @Time4TruthAgain @Kateplusmy8 Yup. They deny it,but all of this foolishness boils down to plain old jealousy.
Don't they ever give up on his jealousy thing? It's like grasping at straws. I want that mortgage, I want that house and land (been there, done that), I want to be divorced with eight kids and no job, I want to be so desperate that I have to pitch a dating show to find a guy, I want to be a failure and the laughingstock of the media and other celebrities, I want to sit down and have to write checks for all of those monthly expenses, I want fried hair, hooker heels and the inability to articulate correctly in the few interviews that I manage to grab.
But most of all, I want that GOOD BRA, no waist, turkey neck, and the Winnie tattoo. Oh yes, I do!
What else?
@rrific. LOL. Sheesh I wish Penn State had 1 that game. Oh well moving forward positively!
I dont want to go out tonight.
Whine.
It's hot and very humid here with no breeze at all and this shindig is supposed to be outside. With this group the conversation will turn to politics and a great many unpleansant things will be said. And the more this crowd drinks, the worse it will get.
Would I be rude if I dropped off my brownies that I was supposed to bring and made an excuse to leave? It's just too hot and humid and I wanna stay home. Rude? Selfish? Help?
Not only is blogger eating posts but it's also making previously clickable links unclickable for me. Has anyone else had this problem?
I want "girls" that have descended so far south that they are now in the Gulf States hurricane zone. I also wouldn't mind having no belly button. The lint can be so gosh darn annoying to remove.

Cant tell ME she doesnt read here. After all the holiday weekends where she sits home alone boohooing about being so lonely, organizing her cosmetics, and lying about all the big food she makes for no one, she suddenly has ummm.... honestly... FRIENDS! No Lie!!! OH MY!!!!

My posts are there one second, gone the next. I just attempted to post something, and blogger pooped up and said I had 'suspicious activity in my account'.

I hope Kate's fans are master-minding who should send ice cream or ice cream Q-cons!!
Either the kids are with their dad, or she has a paid sitter at the house.
As far as being jealous of Kate? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.
omg
I'm wondering if blogger is having a glitchy weekend. I just checked spam and there were only a few comments from the past few days in there and I removed them. So I don't know why comments are still disappearing or where they are going to.
I always find it bizarre the things Kate is surprised about. I run into old friends all the time, it happens if you leave the house once in awhile. We have our "omg, it's you!" moment and chat for awhile and catch up, but I would never think it eventful enough to facebook it, tweet it or announce it here. She's an odd bird that one.

For what it is worth: (and probably not even that much)
Get out of the internet altogether. Run a virus scan. Shut down your computer and wait a full 5 minutes. Restart your computer and run the virus scan again. Then log back onto the internet and see if you are still having trouble.
One of my 'adopted sons' now writes computer textbooks. I will ask his permission to give you his name so you can look at him books on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Anyway, he says that often when this stuff is happening it is because you have picked up a cookie tracker. He says 'restart' isnt always good enough, especially if your computer or operation system is a bit older. Shut down and wait 5 minutes.
While doing that, it wouldnt hurt to reset your internet modem and your router too.
Just in case this can help...

Don't you start that ghetto talk there, mind.
Back from my backward and my ongoing battle with the overgrown vines... I'm sore from head to toes. I need to sit down. And not move until Thuesday. I need a book. Bad.
So a big "mille fois merci" to Tweet and Readerlady for their reading recommandations. I'll probably start with Julie Smith's Rebecca Schwartz series because the title, "Death Turns a Trick", does ring a bell. I think I wrote it down when Readerlaly mentionned it the first time around. Then I'll try Muller and check on Paretsky, eventually.
I read a lot of Sue Grafton and did find her books a little formulaic after a while.

The fans and twitter war is out of control with Dog the Bounty Hunter's wife (I dont know her name). I just don't get it. I hear Lady Gaga's fans are crazy, too.
Most of the Housewife shows are a disgrace, a downright, horrible expose' of greed among women who will lie, curse at each other and their family members, fight with each other and their families, all in front of their young children, always using bedroom language and finally having sexual relations on TV in the middle of a family dinner, taking place in a vinyard in Napa Valley and while everyone knew and could see, they did the nasty. Not for love but for attention from the television, more time on the air. How filty these people are. How greedy as they all build their "brands" and get so jealous of each other. Disgusting? Beyond disgusting.
As my husband says when I mention any of these shows and ask him "why, would women do this with their families watching" and he said because "none of the shows are named The Husbands of" because the producers of Bravo know the women will do anything to get more air time over the other housewifes. Sickening, just plain sickening.
And what did Kate Gosselin's sons say when Mommy came home with bigger breasts? The subject had to be brought up by the children, they had to notice that Mom now had boobs.

LoveMyGrandsons, I hope you arrived safely and are enjoying your time with your grandsons.
White Organza 'je te souhaîte une très belle longue fin de semaine'. Tomorrow I will be at the hot air balloon festival with my grandchildren, DD and SIL. We only go for the day although the festival lasts from Friday until midnight Monday. My grandchildren who are 6 and 4 (the other one is 2 months) look forward to this event every year. We get to do rides, visit the petting zoo, paint faces, puppets, walking one person shows, clowns on stilts, carnival games, childrens' shows, magic shows, different dance, fireworks, big stage show (always known artists), and a lot of other things that I can't think of. We pack a picnic lunch, cheese, water, juice, sandwiches, veggies, fruit, and a couple of beer for the adults, which we leave in the van in the parking lot. Also we pack an assortment of goodies for the children that they don't normally get at home, which we can bring on the site. We also bring blankets, sweaters and warm clothing for the evening. This time with my family is truly a tradition, loll, do I sound like Kk8, we have been doing it for the past 23 years. Now I'm going there with my grandchildren and creating memories, lollll!!!!!!!!
I just read Kate's latest post about local coupon cabin coupons on her website. That one I believe she wrote.
However when you click on her link to read the whole post at Coupon Cabin, there is NO WAY she wrote that post! The wording is not her style, and when she compares gas prices..yea riighhtt.... Kate doesnt look beyond what is in front of her nose.
And she used the word astronomical correctly. She did not say " Astronomicalyish"...

That sounds wonderful! Be careful at the petting zoo! The swine flu has been a concern, with one report of a woman recently having died from contact at a county fair. Google Petty Zoo Dangers.
I read that two of the biggest dangers are contacts with goats and sheep. Ironic, isn't it? Sheep!
Fired Up 4 Kate @MiloandJack
@Hollybm78 @kateplusmy8 LOL....Kate always laments there's not enuf of her 2go around 4her 8 kids! Certainly not enuf of her 4 us tweeties!
There's just something really off with this woman. "Supporting" a celebrity, tweeting to a celebrity, and having a girl crush is one thing. This person takes it to the next level and the next level beyond that.
A "très belle longue fin de semaine " to you, too, Blue Bird! And, no, you definitely don't sound like Kate re your family outing: you don't bitch enough with the preparations (actually, you sound like you ENJOY anticipating everyone's need... ), and if you've been doing that for the last twenty years, you have a real family tradition on your hands, lady. So, sorry: not fake enough to be real Kate. :)
White Organza,

LOL, I am so in love with them I am 'imploring' people to get them......
Woah (as kart would spell it), I sure have it bad!
They rank right up there with Steve Martini, Michael Connolly, and John Sanford in the police procedurals crime novels....
I am taking the first one I read to bed tonight to read it over again....
Sigh...... I got it baaaddddddd..... :-)
White, enjoy your reading - I find it such a great escape. And such a good excure for avoiding housework.

Sound familiar?
I used to read Sara Paretsky but she kept having her main character (don't remember her name) get beat up, severely injured, almost killed, etc.
The book where PI character was beat up, rolled up in a rug and dumped in a swamp to drown is when I finally said enough!
There was too much violence directed at the charater for my taste. Oh wait - is it VI Washawski? My memory comes and goes....
Then Sara Paretsky had a bad car accident and I think a head injury and other severe injuries as well. Never know the details. She didn't write for several years and now has come back with a couple of books.
Haven't read her in over 10 years.
Are her new books still violent toward the PI character?

I think Kate is the one who had too many rumspringas. Nothing she said in that tweet made sense.
So many lovely movies to watch, and she chooses to blubber over so-callled home movies. I can just see her doing this when the kids are teens and never home. Grow up Kate.
Someone tweeted best wishes to Kate on her new show, and says she wished she had met her at a marathon. Kate replies about the marathon thing, bur completely ignores the part about a new show. She better pull something out of her a** really fast, because there are still people who think there is a show in the works. All the talk about how she "signed on" for a show made people think it was a done deal--the information that no network had picked it up was minimized, so many apparently missed it. Kate is too proud to admit that no network wanted her, so she's either ignoring or deflecting, hoping it all goes away. She went too far this time with her "hints", and she knows it. She planted a story that said she signed on for a new show, and now she has to figure out how to get out of it. She is her own worst enemy--she just has to do something to stick it to the haters and get everyone talking, and fails to look beyond the initial thrill of it all. Didn't she stop to think, "What do I do when it all blows over and people are still expecting a show?" It's like all those "wink, winks" she as tweeting last year. Made her feel good at the moment, but didn't she stop and think that she was going to have to figure out what to say when nothing materialized? What I don't get is, now matter how much she toys with them, the Sheeple overlook everything she does and says. She needs them to take the hint and drop all mention of this "new show". Maybe some are just slower than others. When are they going to wise up and get sick of her messing with their minds? Gluttons for punishment, aren't they? Too bad she doesn't have a little more respect for them.
The littles were born in May of 2004; the twins in October of 2000. When the tups were 20 months old, it would have been January of 2006. Easter is not in January. Mady had a phone when she was five years old?

*********
Mady and Cara were not even allowed to talk on the phone when their friends called. Kate got very nasty about that one evening when one of the twins got a phone call from a friend. "What first grader needs to talk on the phone?" - or something close to that.
Kate tweeted:
"We're watching old HOME videos of r family..littles r 20mos old! I'm crying,of course!Wish I had captured evry second! http://img.ly/mNIS"
She includes a picture of a TV screen in a totally dark room. Notice she said "we're", not "the kids and I", which could mean that she and someone else are watching, not necessarily the kids. She's implying that the kids are with her and watching-which may or may not be true.
Again, she is carefully crafting her words so people will assume the kids are home with her.
LOL!, Permanent Name... O.K, O.K., I checked PJ Tracy on the Internet, and I will pick some of their books tomorrow at my library. 'Looks like we have the same tastes in PI novels. I used to love John Sanford and his "prey" serie... I know the "imploring" feeling. I do that all the time. With books, music, opera singers, television shows and even recipes... What can I tell you? I like to share. So, in that spirit: do you know the Armand Gamache serie, by Louise Penny?

Right. I remember that. In January of 2006, when the tups were 20 months old (when the video was allegedly made) the twins had just turned five. She's saying that Mady had a phone and was taking pictures on it.

I think what Kate is crying about is the fact that TLC pulled the plug. It has nothing to do with her "littles" growing up.

The question is...why in the heck is she tweeting this? Sympathy? To show she's a devoted mom? Is this really something that her tweeties need to know - that she's living in the past and crying about it?
The sad thing is that her fans are enabling her, telling her it's okay to do this. If they really were her fans, they'd stop this nonsense and tell it to her like it is. That she really needs to get professional help and to move on with her life. If that means getting a job, then they need to tell her to get a job, not hang on every tweet to see if her dating show gets picked up; not to wait with baited breath for a cookbook that would end up in the dollar store in no time flat.
Over in Kate's County,
I've looked for the old Russian dressing too and I couldn't find it where i live. So I tried looking for a recipe that I thought sounded similar and I found this recipe. I haven't tried it, but I thought it looked good.

She planted a story that said she signed on for a new show, and now she has to figure out how to get out of it.
=====
Layla I don't think she cares what her sheeple think. She's too self-centered. She's said it and shown it a hundred times she is the only one who matters. I have to refer back to the topic of this thread...
Study: Lying makes you happier
On April 7 Kate tweeted this:
“@XXXX you're so energetic miss gardener:) tomorrow we plant our organic veges inside then will move outside when they sprout yay!”
However today, when someone asked if she had a garden, she tweeted this:
"no but my kids seem to think we need one"
Same thing goes for this question from one of her little fans. When is your new show coming out? Her answer (even though she doesn't say it out loud) is - "It's not, but my sheeple seem to think I need one".
She doesn't care. Screw the garden and the new show that isn't. The bottom line is lying makes Kate happy. It doesn't matter to her if she's hated or not, lying has brought her the material things in life that she apparently loves more than her own children.
Okay, I'll say it. Sheeple are just plain dense. This one is arguing that Kate is taking Spanish classes. She or he doesn't understand that during Parent's Night, the parent attends each one of the kids' classes for a short period of time where they learn what the class includes.

@Kateplusmy8 @jacksonkate72 people who tweeted me, should read what I rt from @Kateplusmy8 and u guys will see what I'm sayin :)

RT @Kateplusmy8: It's parent night in our middle school... Just left Public speaking class and I'm currently in Spanish class! :) #goodt ...

@Allisstair @kateplusmy8 if u read the other tweets she wrote, it's in Spanish and she said she was back in Spanish class.
jacksonkate72
@Kateplusmy8 Hey Kate!! Just wondering how is ur Spanish class going? Is it fun? :)
Thanks, Heide. My last resort is making it. It does look good, though. I know Wishbone still makes it because it's listed on their site. I might give them a call and find out where (if) it's sold in this area.
Looks like you can buy the Wishbone Russian dressing at Walmart

Ok. I was at a fun get-together tonight with friends (none of them paid:) and I will admit to having a few Rumspringa Cosmotinis.
HOWEVER, I do believe Kate gets the honor of wearing the lampshade from the Dollar Store for tweeting about 20 mo. old tups Easter Egg hunting in January. The Mady&I r taking pics w r phones! is plain bizarre. Does she mean when the video was taken? Did phones even take pictures in January of 2006 yet? Why would a 5 yr old have a cell phone? Or is she saying she & Mady are taking pictures with their phones tonight, of the video they are watching on TV? I am so confused. And if they are, dear God WHY?? WTF!!! Wait- it gets even better... is Mady even there? Is this going to be Kates new thing, to personally reference the kids daily by name in some asinine attempt to make it look like she has them 27 days out of the month. And THIS is what we are supposed to be jellus of, this pathetic loser?
Kate, Kate, Kate. Franzia and twitter NEVER mix, when will you learn?
Maybe she means that she and Mady are taking pictures of the TV with their phones hence the picture that she posted. How very, very sad for Mady if she has to feed into this to keep Kate happy.
I walked down the beach tonight to see the full moon on the ocean. the moon is peeking out from behind clouds off and on. I had seen a group earlier sitting on the beach, but couldn't stop to ask since I had the dogs. I went layer by myself, the group was still there, and I talked to them. There is a turtle nest that is hatching TONIGHT! Theses are volunteers who have been monitoring the nest for months. I am going to bed, have to be up early to go see dh's brother and go out on his boat before out gets too hot. I am going to try and get up around 4am to go check what happened over night. Its a perfect night, the baby turtles go toward the reflected light on the water. That's why sea turtle conservation programs ask beach front homeowners to use blackout curtains.
Night everyone!
Kate tweeted...@NoraSaysNo hard question!Like any mom,I wish I could smother those sweet faces w kisses agn,but even the noise on video was overwhelming!
Why can't she kiss her kids now?

But WHY would two people take pictures of a video on television if it's available on video? I'm really confused now!
JoyinVirginia,
When we at Ocracoke a few weeks ago we got to see a turtle nest "boil". It is amazing!! The next morning the National Park folks excavated the next to count the shells. They also found 3 little guys who didn't make it out of the nest. So, we got to see them get a helping hand. It was something I won't forget!
Over In Kate's County,
I make that recipe too, although I haven't in a long time. I could of sworn that I saw the Wishbone Russian Dressing at our Walmart recently (in Tennessee).
I did a search and found it on Amazon for you. Hope this helps!

Turtles are wonderful! We swam with one in a lagoon on Grand Cayman (turtle farm). She was a big girl - over a hundred pounds and about three feet long. The coolest thing ever, even better than swimming with dolphins.
If Mady and Kate are sitting in a darkened room on a Saturday night over a long-weekend watching old episodes then this is indeed a sad situation. If fans want to re-live old shows they can easily go online to see them anytime.
I just hope she is not dragging Mady in to her vortex of desperation and loss. The twins are getting old enough to question if their only value in this life was when they were on television. My advise to Kate is to value them all in THIS
moment and move yourself and your kids forward. She is mourning the loss of their show, her kids are still right there, they are the ones sitting beside her. Does she only see them when she watches them on television?
Based on her odd tweets about M and the sleepover on the chaise, and the one about taking pics of a video on tv, I would have to venture that M is, for whatever reaso , the only kid home with her this weekend. Why she thinks watching old footage of the tups at 20 mos. is great entertainment for her older daughter is beyond me. Guess her twins have Iphones, and she has what, blocked the internet? Twidiot, that one.

It's a scary thought to think Mady might be staying at home with Kate out of pity while the rest go with Jon.
Sherry Baby #107 & Wayward #136 -
My my interpretation of Khate speak: Khate and Mady were snapping phone pictures of the TV while they are watching the video (she posted a photo of the TV on Twitter).
I think the shot she posted looks like something from the special/series when they moved to the house near Kevin & Jodi.
Easter egg hunt in January (20 months comment) - maybe they threw the plastic eggs out on the lawn for the kiddos to pick up?
Oh, and Khate mentions the noise is overwhelming...ever heard of the volume control on the remote, Khate?
I bet the noise was her screeching.

Why can't she kiss her kids now?
---------------------
So even video of the kids annoys her? Jeeez, they just can't win with her. No love and kisses for those kids from mummy because they dared to make a peep.
Khate's perfect idea of being a mother is Victorian times when children should be seen and not heard. Even more so, when they were already perfectly dressed and groomed, and seen for 15 minutes (hee hee) by their mum then taken away by the nanny.
Yet, she doesn't get that her entire fame revolves around the fact she is supposed to be a hands on super mom of 8. And no Khate, hands on doesn't mean how you 'discipline' them.
Does she only see them when she watches them on television?
-----------------
Yes. And she will always only see them when they are making her money, bringing her fame and having their lives edited to make her look good.
I haven't read all comments so if this has already been mentioned, please forgive me. Is Kate putting it out there that she has all this footage that SHE owns? Is she trying to generate some interest in her kids again hoping a television producer will offer to put the videos on tv special? Maybe Mady will edit the videos. I smell desperation. Kate, please honey, it's over. Get a job!
Havent posted in awhile and never on my own account, love "listening" to the great conversations. I hope you all are enjoying the long weekend and have an extra rumspringa for me as I have to work. Just got home in fact. I was worried there was getting to be an invasion of the sheeple, ugh. Love the agree, agree, agree idea. Oh, yes, hitting the guest chef in your home with a mixing spoon is great behavior to display for your 8 children, er, sure. I guess they'd love for Katie to get them a few whacks with the spoon and a couple of "love taps" too.
Off for shower and bed. While be sure to bring hip waders for anymore sheeple invaders to enable stepping through the piles of bs they bomb this lovely blog with.
I'm so disappointed that I never seem to be on at the same time as the rest of you so that I could partake of the friendly back and forth with you nice people. I do catch up when I can.
*I think Kate was referring to Home videos (not TLC)It I they took of the kids.
*I am perplexed that anybody thought she might get a dating show after that horrible episode in NY for her birthday. It showed all the reasons why it wouldn't work.
*the poster thinking Kate was taking a Spanish class shows the lack of attention fans pay to anything they read. SMH
Well..we are into September so I guess Robert must have sold himself out to Kate and her lawyers because didn't he say the book would be out in August? Maybe he and Kate are in cahoots together. He touted a book that never materialized and she touted new tv shows for herself that never materialized and yet they BOTH got lots of exposure. I guess they are both going to be reduced to "exposing themselves" for any future jobs or notoriety cuz that's all they have left! Lol
Well, Mady is definitely the favorite now. I wonder what happened with Hannah? Mady gets all the Kate-time and 'privileges!'
That is odd about taking photos...Kate said she didn't like her cellphone back on the show so she must mean now they are taking photos- of the video??? That's weird. The quality will be blurry and grainy. Will she post them? Or take Milo's advice and piece together a whole special? And yes, the timeline is wrong re: ages of kids. I also recall how Kate freaked out about answering the phone when one of the twins' friends called...she made Karla answer & say no phone calls for the girls and seemed almost paranoid about it. She sure has changed re:phones!
Several things:
Dwindle, how was the party??
How come Kate can't kiss her kids NOW? too old?
As far as the Russian dressing issue goes, first, try to grift one on twitter (ya know, like Kate does, lol). Second, did you ask 'your' favorite walmart employees about it? I am sure they would order some. Here's a funny story...a few months ago, my mom was shopping at walmart, couldn't find a mustard jar that has the screw-on lid. Thinking they were out of stock, she looked again the next week-no mustard. (getting annoyed). Looks the next week, and still no mustard! So she goes home, and emails walmart about there being no mustard on the shelf (explains she uses that type of bottle due to arthritis).
Gets an email back, says sorry etc, we will look into it. THE NEXT DAY, a walmart manager knocks on her door with a bottle of mustard with a screw-on lid. Gives it to her for free, said he would look into why there isn't that type of bottle on the local shelf. I must say that the bottle he brought to her wasn't a walmart brand, but our local supermarket brand, but we were still impressed that walmart brought her a bottle of mustard!
The other night I watched the episode where Kate took the kids to Bald Head alone. It must have been not long after she and Jon seperated. The twins went home early and spent time alone with Jon. One of the things that struck me in this episode was Kate telling one of the little boys they were going to take care of her when she gets older. I've picked up on this before and really believe Kate will expect her children to provide for her when they are adults. She will lay a guilt trip on them telling them all the sacrifices she made for them to give them a good life. Just the way she constantly expects them to thank her for every little thing they get shows me she will expect pay back later on. Most parents provide for their children and give them extras because they love them. Kate does this for something in return. I also think this is one of the reasons she pushes Mady into thinking she can be a star.
Another thing I noticed again is how much Mady is like Kate. She refuses to participate in much at all. She sits like a lump on a log pouting while the others are having fun. Mady is much more compassionate though than Kate could ever be. I've seen her, so many times, comfort the little ones when they are upset. I've also seen her comfort her mother. It should not be a childs job to make their mother feel better about herself. It should be the other way around. I really feel terrible for these children, they've got the weight of the world on them thanks to their Mommy Dearest.
Perhaps Robert decided not to publish his book because there is no market or stomach for Kate Gosselin anymore. She could have so easily keep the whole facade and interest going with proper marketing people and advisers, but chose Twitter instead for its instant gratification. If Robert hasn't made a settlement with her lawyer, he may be better off selling his story to the National Enquirer, at this point a tell-all book has lost any real momentum.
Morning all.......Red Russian Dressing. Remember how we made this when I was a kid......either a spicy tomato with jalapeno pepper (excuse my spelling as I am really rushing so I can get out of the house, hubby is waiting) and then I discovered my mother in law made it by putting some sliced beets, not many in a pot, put the regular russian dressing in and presto, you have that spicy Red Russian Dressing. So don't go crazy, the taste is a tanginess (again, the spelling, sorry) so either buy a beet, a bit of jalapeno pepper, not much, put in your food processor and add the jar of russian dressing. It is just a tanginess. You can make that recipe with regular russian dressing but you won't have the spiciness. Amen
Have a great day everyone.
If she's sitting in a dark room watching old home movies, she is really losing it.
Who in their right mind sits in the dark to watch old home movies??
(and on such a SMALL tv screen, so sad, sniff!)
I wonder if Kate ever has a 'wtf' have I done to my family moment?
Kate's County -- Do you have a Kroger near you? They carry Wishbone Russian Dressing. I buy it once in a while.
Gotyournumberkate -- I agree that Mady is a lot like KK. She is more compassionate than KK and, I think, much more intelligent. Yet KK insists that Cara is the one who is most like her. I still remember the look of utter (udder, LOL) disbelief Jon gave her when she said this.
Dwindle -- Did your party get rained out? It poured here most of the night. It's so humid you could reach out and wring water from the air. UGH! I hate this kind of weather!
Oh, I now see he picture she took of the screen in the dark- the backs of the tups going out a door! Hmm, I didn't cry...
Honestly? (snark) I didn't cry either!

I read on another blog that last year's 'celebrities' on that fashion walk event--one of them was that crazy Michala lady (don't know her name, the nutty chick that she and her hubby crashed the White House dinner).
I'd be SO PROUD to be included in such stellar company as these two 'celebrities'.
And I thought 'entrepreneur' was pronounced 'pile of manure'....I'm right in this case, lololol.

I agree and she is making it very obvious. Even if she doesnt charge, there is a way to attach advertising revenue per click. So if *I* click on it to watch, and I think I am anonymous and this is free, i will have to sit through a 30 second advert first ("Your video will begin in 30, 29, 28...") and Kate will get $$ from my click.
OT here on Dancing with the Stars: Was reading Parade magazine this morning and in the Personality Parade someone wrote in and asked how the contestants for Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars were chosen. According to Parade, the decision making came down to pure talent and fan appeal. "This is our version of The Avengers--they were the superheroes of their seasons," says executive producer Conrad Green. Katie Irene never had a shot in hell. Thank goodness she was glad she didn't get picked. But I don't buy that at all. She desperately wanted back on that show.
Who the hell watches home videos/movies and cries. I can understand feeling melonchaly(sp?) because time has gone by so quickly, but cry. This woman does need help. And if she has Mady there and they are taking pictures with their phones, that is just sad.

thank you everyone for helping shove me out the door last night.
EEE Gads it was humid last night. The party was HUGE and quickly became "not our crowd", as our hostess's son arrived with his friends and then their friends etc. But we got to see many many familiar folks and that is always nice.
yes the conversations got political and nasty and I just quietly moved away and changed groups.
We left about 10, which is early really, but it was time.
Here's a funny thing; I had made brownies to take and used a bit of finely mashed zucchinni in them instead of some of the oil. Word got around fast that those little green flecks in the brownies were pot, and the younger folks acted like total fools about it all. Funny how they all thought they were feeling HIGH from my zucchini. Asshats.
I love the names people come up with to describe other people. We have poopyhead, turd bucket, tit and now Dwindle comes up with asshat. Gotta love it. Getting off the computer now.

She was counting to six to keep track of the sextuplets. Or at least that's what she claims.
I find out something interesting today. I know it's old news, but remember the article Kim Danger wrote on her mommysavers.com blog about meeting Kate at Blogher? She had mostly nice things to say about Kate and also that Kate spoke to her daughter on the phone. However, she also said she heard gossip that Kate acted like a diva. When one of her tweeties pointed out the diva remark, Kate tweeted:
@xxxxxxxxxxx (meant 2 hit 'reply' but retweeted) I don't get the 'diva' talk.It was a total fun X! Can't bel lying review:(
and
Kate Gosselin@Kateplusmy8
@xxxxx @xxxx @mommysavers Why untrue gossip? No good deed goes unpunished, I guess :( That hurts :( but ur daughter was cute!
Well, I was over at CC and looked at the names of their bloggers--turns out Kim Danger not only has her own blog(mommysaver.com), but she is also a guest blogger for CC!!
So Kate basically was putting down one of her fellow CC bloggers. Hmm, maybe she was "just jellus".
@Readerlady: A friend went to the OSU game yesterday and he said the humidity was horrible. Only a few minutes of actual rain, but he said he really felt ill from the humidity. Unusual for him to admit that something like the weather nearly did him in.
Your rain front is beginning to hover over me, at least on the radar. The deck wood is wet, not from rain but just from the humidity all night. We sure could use the rain, I am sure this section of Issac will give us some any hour now.

TLC had better take a look at those "HOME" videos, just in case Kate is pilfering them from the show. I could have sworn that Kate said (on one of the episodes) that the show was filmed for their children's memories.
Of the many conflicting reasons Kate has given for doing the show, I distinctly remember one of them being that they would never have time to make their own home movies so this was a way to do it.
Raise your hand if you think Kate is alone this weekend, the kids are with Jon, and she is crying Norma Desmond tears in the dark as the old home movies flicker away.
Sitting in a dark room and crying while watching home videos.....I know children growing up is hard, but that sounds like a S/S of depression (I am using my newly gained knowledge of nursing shorthand- thx ladies!!).
Well, if it only happens once in great while, maybe she's just being sentimental, but doesn't she say she cries every time she watches an old video? That sounds like a cause for concern.
She & Mady apparently taking phone pics NOW (well, last night) while watching the old footage together. Very weird. Maybe M and C were on the video too although she didn't mention it and then she would have to count to 8. What a freak or ass-hat- my kids say that. Dwindle, you must be very cool to be up on all this lingo!
Raise your hand if you think Kate is alone this weekend, the kids are with Jon, and she is crying Norma Desmond tears in the dark as the old home movies flicker away.
----------
Hand up. I just found it strange that she would write "dark" room. That jumped out at me right away. How many people would say that? It adds to the gloominess and desperation of the whole thing. It just makes it sound very creepy somehow. You get the vision of her huddled on her leather sofa in the dark, crying because there is no more show, NOT because the kids are growing up.
Kate needs to get some mental help, imo. Sitting in the dark watching old home videos and crying about it is NOT NORMAL. It's flat-out creepy.
WHO DOES THIS??
Blowing in the Wind said... (183)
"You get the vision of her huddled on her leather sofa in the dark, crying because there is no more show, NOT because the kids are growing up."
Exactly! This is just another one of those "tells" that Kate's got a screw loose and that her emotions were invested in the show, not her family.
She can say it wasn't an old episode she was watching but just some home video (that I thought she didn't have time for hence the reason for the show in the first place) but by broadcasting it on twitter she went and made it public.
It's one thing to choose to sit in the dark and watch old home videos and cry - which is kind of sad in itself - but to announce that's what you're doing...that's just pathetic.
Jealous, indeed. You know, it makes more sense that her fans are the ones actually jealous of her. They make no secret that they want what she has and its why they so vehemently defend her decision to continually exploit her kids.
From dictionary.com
jealousy
jeal·ous·y [jel-uh-see]
noun
1.
jealous resentment against a rival, a person enjoying success or advantage, etc., or against another's success or advantage itself.
2.
mental uneasiness from suspicion or fear of rivalry, unfaithfulness, etc., as in love or aims.
3.
vigilance in maintaining or guarding something.
4.
a jealous feeling, disposition, state, or mood.
*******
First off I don't think anyone here sees Kate's life as a success or advantage, rather the opposite. So that rules that out.
Of particular interest was Number 3 and it fits perfectly with what I wrote about her fans being the ones who are jealous of her.
Why else would they maintain that she's doing nothing wrong and constantly defend her?
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Labour Day weekend. :D
Kate needs to quit her pity party and get some chores done! Organize some closets, do paperwork, clip coupons, write her weekly blog thingie, work in the yard. wash the cars, fix the tractor, take care of the chickens...how about the dog? clean out the garage, update the upstairs over the garage, use her label maker...clean out the frig, scrub the floors...change the linens!
there's all sorts of things...she could run on the treadmill, do some laps in the cement pond...
Yep, no Gosselinbook. I really believe the guy took a payoff and that's probably what his goal was the whole time. Why else would he taunt her like that? And why would the book be so long? Most people wouldn't want to wade through something so big. So he comes to the blogs to get people excited - I think we got played. Werny Gal has a post up about him and he sounds pretty sleazy. And Preesi's gals suspected a payoff quite a while ago. Now I believe them.
I don't know if the gosselin book author took a payoff, but legal issues take time. He thought publication would be in August, it's only Sept 2nd...
If it's still being help up due to attys, there must be some damaging stuff Katie Irene wants to keep quiet.
Instead of blubbering about her babies growing up, she ought to be more concerned about that book, lol.
Dwindle, I will hike it to CA with you.
Dmasy and Dwindle:
You guys can hike...I am going to grift a 5 star RV for my trip to CA. If you want to go with me, you *must* pay for part of the gas...after all, I am skinnier than you! Therefore, it would take more gas....got that? Honestly!
(a plane trip would be better, first class of course..I do my best sleeping while on a plane!!)
:)
uh...who wants to mastermind?
I'll bring the pizza and aluminum foil!
Werny Gal has a post up about him and he sounds pretty sleazy.
-------------------
I'd take that with a grain of salt. I'm not believing a payoff. It's all speculation at this point. If this thing was over and done, the website would be taken down. So far, it hasn't. Legal issues do take time, in fact, sometimes years.

I dont follow those blogs, but I believe you. I washed my mental hands of that guy nearly a month ago. All that taunting was creepy and then he wimpered away after getting a form letter from a law firm. It was some kind of hoax, or maybe he had a COUPLE of tidbits; he took money to go away.
I will eat my hat and wash it down with rumspringa if it ever amounts to anything. And by 'anything', I dont mean a retelling of rag gossip. I mean something that will get the attention of the IRS or Childrens Service.

It's one thing to choose to sit in the dark and watch old home videos and cry - which is kind of sad in itself - but to announce that's what you're doing...that's just pathetic.

Yeah. Why broadcast the fact that you've completely gone off the deep end, Norma? Waa waa waa. Snap out of it.
What is she hoping to achieve? Selling copies of never-before-seen footage?
My hand is raised, Admin, and I for one do remember the Gosselins saying that they began the TLC show to record all the family memories that they just didn't have time to record themselves. Lie perhaps?
Dwindle, I'll go to CA too, if we can ride part of the way. The humidity was horrible yesterday, too. I'm doggy sitting this w/e for some friends, and the dogs didn't want to go out, it was so bad. They'd run out real fast, do their business, and come right back in. Usually, it's hard to get them to come in, except for dinner LOL.
If KK was sitting in the dark, how could she see to twit? My iphone has lighted keys, but the screen isn't lighted well enough to write/read messages in the dark.
Not to drag up the peanut issue again, but HLN just had a segment on a young girl who, with her mother, was in Hawaii and was stuck there because no airline could guarantee her a peanut-free flight home. They flew there on Alaska airlines, guaranteed of a nut-free flight, but they could find no airline who would fly them back with a guarantee that there would be no nuts. The girl needed to get home for chemo treatment for an autoimmune disease, and Alaska stepped up and gave them a nut-free flight back, had a taxi waiting for them to take her to the hospital for chemo.
I thought peanuts aren't give out on the main carriers, but apparently there isn't any way to make sure that passengers won't pull out a bag they've had stashed in their pockets. The girl is severely allergic to any nuts or nut products, and being anywhere near them would trigger anaphylaxis.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
LOL! Well, actually I am the coolest anywhere evah!
Nah, I just have the coolest CHILDREN, who have lived all over the country and traveled most of the world and come up with phrases that I shamelessly pilfer. Like 'salty'. Everytime my 2nd born says she is salty about something (meaning displeased)I just crack up. I think most of it is her deadpan delivery.
@ADMIN!!!!!! Dmasy and I are planning a hiking/road trip to assist you with those pesky little lawyeringishy things you think are so important, so that you can focus your energies on getting OUR needs met with a Norma Desmond photoshop. Or better yet, a captioned VIDEO!!!!!
Dmasy, I think I will purchase a nice big car, just the Beverly Hillbillies, and we can pick up any willing 15 Min-ners on the way.
ROAD TRIP!
If KK was sitting in the dark, how could she see to twit? My iphone has lighted keys, but the screen isn't lighted well enough to write/read messages in the dark.
--------------
How could she see with all of those tears falling on the phone? She couldn't focus too well, and the phone would be wet! :)
Dwindle, let's reconsider the walking idea. Reader and aggie seem to have a better plan. Should be create matching T-shirts? Slogan?
Why didn't we think of grifting transportation?
Hey, sign me up for the road trip. I'll bring all the DTB books for evening reading after we all drink our way into rumspringa land at the 5 star hotels along the way....
And ADMIN, I don't know where in CA you live, but I really like the San Diego area... if you don't live there, could you move there for us? We are entitled, right? kart gets her way, so I think we should too......... LOL
OK, serious post coming up next - I need help.

I'm getting the Beverly Hillbillies car so we can ride out to Ca in style. Anybody got some kind of lawyer bookish thingy on their e-reader? or maybe an audio book? if we are going to take over for Admin, we should read up a little real quick.
Can I be the person who shouts out "I OBJECT!" all the time? Dmasy can say "But yer Honor..." and readerlady can say "Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury" alot. I think there might be some kind of paperwork here and there too. So we'll need someone to make an In pile and an Out pile... Oh, we'll need someone to always say "May we approach the bench?"... Can someone find out if we are allowed to wear our Muumuu's and crocs in court? i dont see why not.
