We will do a “book club” style discussion of a few chapters at a time as we read the book together. You are free to read with the group or skip ahead. You are also free to discuss whatever you like, however if you want to partake in the book club discussion, this thread is here to discuss the designated chapters. Robert Hoffman’s book “Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World” is available on Amazon for Kindle. The Kindle app is free for multiple platforms, including PCs.
5. Bad Blog
Kate obsessively reads what is said about her on the internet, from Google news alert to the Gosselin blogs. Undeniably the first online presence to ever call Kate out was the Reading Eagle, a small but respected local newspaper. Staff member Dana Hoffman kept a blog on the site detailing Kate's misdeeds. Kate's people eventually called up the Reading Eagle and asked them to shut down her blog. Within hours the paper removed it from the site. Kate keeps files on her computer with information from blogs and even on their moderators. The file folder for Dana's blog was entitled "Bad Blog."
In January 2008, Kate also asked Discovery to remove Television Without Pity's Jon and Kate forum (which in fact was closed eventually, in June 2008), and the Discovery Health Channel forum.
Kate's house is in a rural neighborhood and surrounded by farmland. She once drove the kids three hours to Maryland to trick-or-treat in her bodyguard Steve's neighborhood.
When Jodi and Kevin spoke publicly about what they saw, Kate fired off an email to Discovery with her three favorite words: "Can we sue?"
According to a member of Kate's family, Kate has been diagnosed with bi-polar, but refuses to take medication.
Hoffman once observed Kate with the kids when she was having a very stable, happy day. She and the nanny, Judy, took the sextuplets to get donuts, later they went to the park and spent a long time there, then met up with another mother and her daughter for a play date back at the house. Hoffman also observed her chatting up and flirting with a park employee.
7. Kate's God Complex
“I asked her how that works as far as our rate going up from Disc Health network and the ‘fringe benefits’ as I call them…. She said that the amount we are paid per show will not take away from what they (AMP) will provide for us. She used the examples of the kids beds… she said those things come out of their (AMP) budget from the network. So that is almost mind boggling to me we will be paid for each episode and receive fringe benefits!!!!! Lord, how great thou art!!!!!”
Kate felt God was "urging" her to quit her nursing job.
Kate said that if Discovery wasn't going to pay for the beds she wasn't going to allow them to film the episode about beds. Jen (producer Jen Stocks) was annoyed by this.
As for Jon, Kate wrote: “I pray that his complacency would leave him and would turn into passion for the Lord! Lord PLEASE help Jon to desire these things!!!!!! Help him to become a man of integrity!!!!! Lord please!!!!! He could be the perfect man if he could get these things under control and let God take control!!!!!”
Alexia foods sent four cases of fries. Other food was sent by others or offered at reduced prices. Fans, friends and family sent gift cards and cash, including $250 from Kate's parents, and Kate attributed it all to God.
Kate writes this about the children: “Lord I am begging you to help me be a loving caring kind and slow to anger mommy. Please stop me somehow from hurting my kids and help me to be slow to anger!!!! I love them SOOO much. Help them to obey me!!!!! And not get into trouble!!!!! Please Lord, amen!!!!”

Dwindle 2...Did anyone else see the list of conditions she had before she would agree to "ACCEPT" (kate's word) free suites at Essex House hotel? It included a very detailed menu for a week of what she wanted. i mean detailed. Homemade macaroni and cheese using small shells pasta and white mild cheddar cheese... her demands included many items for the kids both menu, toys etc; and also layout and placement of suites.

She must have thought that her a$$ weighed a ton (favorite expression of departed relative of mine) and as a celebrity, they would meet her requirements.

While reading the book, I had the thought that Kate is so...damaged, for lack of a better word...that her need is like a black hole in space. Her need to be admired, to be respected, to have money, to be in the limelight will never be 'enough', no matter how much of any of it she has. Remember her never too thin, is there ever too much money comments?
I'm sure it's a part of her mental illness, but I believe that Kate will never enjoy her life and be content with what she has without EXTENSIVE therapy. I have so much pity for her...but every time I soften, the image of Colin being lifted from the floor by his hair, while Kate ''hit him as hard as I could'', and my heart hardens!!

I have the book on my Galaxy Tablet, and am able to read it offline, so I think it means it is safe in case Amazon makes it disappear. But I am wondering, once you buy a book, can they legally take it out of your library? I would think it is just as safe as if it were a DTB. I also have it downloaded on my PC, so it is in 2 places- so SUCK TLC/DISCOVERY/KATE!! !

There is no way she completed the entire race. My race was just under a 1/2 marathon and people were BEAT at the end. No one was looking pretty at the finish line. You guys were right. People are rightfully questioning why Kate would keep a journal of her abusing her kids. This is my take on it.
In her journals she was confessing to God her sins (she wrote she was wrong). And she was asking God to help her have more patience with her children.
Kate came from a very evangelical family who talked like she wrote in her journals. How do I know this. Well, she went to a evangelical school for 12 years. She went to an Assembly of God church for a time.
And we have one sister that that wrote a long entry or more(it is in Robert's book) about person A and person B and how confused she was. It was also copied to GWOP years ago. That post of her sisters was talking a lot about God. And then on Preesi's site, we have another sister who is adopting and her writings about this adoption include her great faith in God. And Kate's father is/was an associate pastor at an evangelical church

This is very possible. But personally i think it's giving Kate too much credit.
I think she was writing a book in her mind designed to show how hard the poor struggling momma had it. There are several entries in the journal that were cleaned up and put in the "I Just Want To Made Sure You Know How You Annoy Me" book.
For example, the incident with Leah gashing her head open:
In the journal, she and Jon were in the garage arguing; in the book they were in the garage going through fan mail.
In the journal they twins came and told them something happened and they told the twins to go handle it; in the book they told the twins we will be there in a minute.
In the journal the gash was 3/4 of an inch big; in the book it was 1/2".
In the journal they were too exhausted to take her to the ER; in the book they thought she was ok.
In the journal, kate got an ER nurse aquaintance to come the next day and look at it who said it should have stitches the night before and kate writes "ooops." In the book, the friend says it isn't SO bad but 'might' have used 'a stitch'.
In the journal kate says she didnt take Leah right then and there to the ER because she didnt want to go by herself with the baby, and besides, she couldnt handle another day of drama after yesterday and being so exhausted from "Mady's tooth". --- you get the point.
There are several examples like this in Hoffman's book which leads me to believe that Kate was journaling daily about beating her babies because she thought it would gain her sympathy for being so stressed. Which quite technically makes her a psychopath. Technically.

As much as I wish Robert would check in here, I am trying to remember that this is a public blog and anything he says here is the same as issuing a public statement. I sent him a private message, but he doesnt know or trust ME from Adam's housecat, so reason why he would reply even privately with anything he couldnt say publically.
It's worrisome but I sure wish he would find a way of letting us/me/some of us/certainly not everyone/those of us who CHOOSE to be included in this statement/ know how he is holding up and what we can do.

This sounds familiar. I had a friend who had this done, I think. The insert a thick needle somewhere, on her it was her butt, and pull out a wad of fat tissue then inject it in the dent. It's not guaranteed it will take but it usually does and lasts about as long as you described before the body reabsorbs it again. And the place where you had the fat sucked out hurts like hell for about a week, she had to have a binder wrapped around her skinny tush for several days, as I recall.

That was one of the many jaw dropping moments for me while reading this book.
The snootyness, the holier-than-thou, the treating of minions like crap on her shoe..... I have always felt Kate has a sick and wrong pre-conceived notion of how celebrity acts.
That ridiculousness about SMALL shell mac and cheese, etc. etc. read like the tour rider of a big singer or band. What happens if they use elbows Kate? Do you throw it across the room, demand houskeeping come clean it up and then demand the Mac & cheese be made WITH SMALL SHELL PASTA LIKE I ASKED!!!!!!
How about the part where Kate would not stand beside Martha when they were on her show? Kate was masterminding to be "Martha but with a bunch of kids" and didn't want to be anywhere near her.
Someone asked upthread why Kate won't go away. This is the true measure of her mental illness. She cannot give up the special VIP treatment she has received over the years. She won't give up trying to go back to being handed huge checks just because she's Kate Gosselin. Her narcissism craves attention and adoration. The fact the she sits on twitter and creates outrageous lies, still trying in vain to be "Martha with a bunch of kids" is beyond sad. It's tragic.

Deanna's tweets reference Robert being near the house on Easter Sunday and watching all that was happening, (in defense of Robert, if he's a pap or a writer doing a book on someone, that's what they do - they watch) and seeing Deanna there. She claims he's been obsessed with her and her family for 8 years.

butterfly...BIG congrats on your run. Even though you were in pain, didn't it feel good to finish! Younger daughter did a 3.3 mile mud/obstacle run with three friends on Saturday. She said the promoters said for amatuers(sp?) it would take one hour to finish. She was thrilled they did it in 49 minutes. They all stuck together and she said it was hard but fun.

I've been jumping around reading some of the articles linked here r/t Robert's book.....and noticing how they all seem to make it look like both sets of attorneys got the book pulled on Amazon....even though it was actually only Laverne and Shirley (thanks to whoever wrote that...too funny) who directly did this.
This is just my gut feeling....but I don't think that TLC/Discovery really gives a crap about any of this. They sent the C&D letter to Robert as it was no skin off their noses...just a little gesture.....but I think they could care less.
For starters, I don't think they give a crap about Kate's reputation. And if they were so worried about their own, they'd have made sure that their talent wasn't able to allow so many critical documents to land out in the trash where it was fair game.
Back in the day? Yeah...they did care. They wanted to keep filming the kids. Now? No. They have a million other fish to fry....they had a pedophile editing for them, Honey Boo Boo, Dance Moms, the one about the Amish kids...and on and on. If they were so worried about their reputation regarding all their reality TV shows....they wouldn't keep churning them out. They are crying all the way to the bank.
If they'd EVER been worried about their reputation, they'd have made sure all those involved in their reality shows knew how to properly dispose of their documents and hard-drives....what and what not to put in emails. etc.
They don't care about Kate or her children now that they're no longer filming them. And I don't think that they ever DID care about their reputation. They know how to handle these things. Blankenship a pedophile? Just ignore it and it will go away.
Oh? Kate G. on the phone? WTH does she want? A cease and desist letter? Sure....fire one off and get her the hell off the phone.
This is gonna be Kate's battle to fight, I think. And I think Legal Eagle is completely correct in her/his comments....and they make me very happy to read....but for the fact that Kate may be blowing money that could benefit the children in order to fight a useless legal battle. I want to see the book back out there and available again.

I haven't gotten to that part yet but I have been rewatching old clips on netflix and I just saw Mady's day out and K8 looked into her mouth before they left and gasped. Oh oh oh Jon look in her mouth! Mady go brush your teeth. Jon have you not be brushing her teeth for her? Jon's answer, and rightly so, "she's seven". But I bet neither one was even making sure she did brush her teeth.
One more example of how cold-blooded, heartless and how little she really cares about the kids. The book has many examples, this one got to me - I can see the kids happily anticipating seeing their dad. This refers to the time when Jon was permitted to stay at the house, after the divorce:

I would feel better about the children's safety while in Kate's care if there were even more sets of eyes on all of them and their mother. This story will not end well. Very sad. We all know that if Kate doesn't get her own way, there will be trouble. As caregivers/relatives went away such as Aunt Jodi and Beth, I became more concerned and we all saw Kate's behavior change for the worse. We didn't sign those "no talk" agreements. We saw the mess on television and it got worse and worse. No one can "shut us up." Thank you Admin! I'll never understand how Kate still has any "fans." Just don't get it.

In the journal, kate got an ER nurse aquaintance to come the next day and look at it who said it should have stitches the night before and kate writes "ooops." In the book, the friend says it isn't SO bad but 'might' have used 'a stitch'.
In the journal kate says she didnt take Leah right then and there to the ER because she didnt want to go by herself with the baby, and besides, she couldnt handle another day of drama after yesterday and being so exhausted from "Mady's tooth". --- you get the point.

I haven't gotten to that part yet but I have been rewatching old clips on netflix and I just saw Mady's day out and K8 looked into her mouth before they left and gasped. Oh oh oh Jon look in her mouth! Mady go brush your teeth. Jon have you not be brushing her teeth for her? Jon's answer, and rightly so, "she's seven". But I bet neither one was even making sure she did brush her teeth.

I apologize if this was already mentioned, but how about right after the separation when they were still splitting time in the house, Leah suffered with strep for 4 days. Kate was much too busy and important to attend to routine child care duites and always left appts. and such for Jon. In this case, Leah had been complaining about her throat for 4 days. Kate waited for Jon's custody and left him a note to take her to the pediatrician. I actually remember pap shots of that, they were in his BMW. Strep is so painful, I can't believe that lil pumpkin suffered with it for 4 days....
I know this is off topic, but I am just amazed. Went to physical therapy for an injury I thought was from working out. My knee was acting up and my Dr. said it was arthritis, but at physical therapy they discovered it was an alignment issue, but also my leg muscles were tight and painful as they were compensating for the misalignment. They sent me home with various stretches to do that have helped somewhat. Today I was mentioning how much pain relief I had from a massage when I got my pedicure. Therapist then pressed my thigh close to my knee and found tender spots that were actually knots in my muscle. She ask me if I wanted to try "Trigger Point Needling" to loosen the tight muscle and explained it to me. I agreed and signed a consent. All I can say is WOW! It was a bit uncomfortable at the time, but oh so worth it. The pain is gone and I don't think my muscle has been this relaxed in years. She said it could actually have been tight and knotted up for years. To me this is nothing short of a miracle.

Wayward -- I have seen tour riders of big singers and bands, and while some of them certainly are picky in regards to the food catered backstage and other needs, many of them are by no means as detailed or demanding as this one was.
In fact, I've seen one popular touring band's rider that was really funny, and it was intended to be...such as requiring two packs of a brand name of cigarettes, not one pack, not three packs, but two packs and the pack had to be the "old" package design and not the most recent one. The rider was actually a parody of some of the more demanding contract riders by celebrities. It really was quite funny, asking for bowls of M&Ms, with all of the green ones removed, and three packs of cinnamon toothpicks and it had to be packs that contained 250 in each pack, as well as the request for a certain brand of toilet paper in the backstage dressing area (specifying how many sheets per roll).
Everyone had a good laugh over it.
But for Kate, well, what's pathetic is that she was serious.

Gee. When the 'natatorium' (we're all fancy like that here in the sticks;) was added on to our local high school, a huge glass wall and seating area was added so parents could watch their children's lessons in comfort, not in the humid pool area. I will be informing the aquatic director tomorrow that parents watching their own children learn to swim is creepy with pedophile tendencies. Not.
Keeping in mind that if Kate released a damning book about Jon, created with a hard drive he'd discarded, the sheeple would be on their knees and praising her. Attention friends: Is there anyone who can help Paige from KG twitter get in touch with another real celeb who will not ask her for free stuff? KG has scammed this sweet young girl, who seems to be poor, too many times to count, telling her how she needs this or that and the young girl(s) send gifts to her.
The problem is, once KG receives the items, she ignores Paige until she wants her to send something else. This little girl (she is real and seems to be very immature) gets very upset when KG ignores her for days on end.

No need to worry about Paige. Another site has discovered that Paige is not the young teen she portrays herself to be, but rather a woman in her early 20's.
The book is there if you downloaded it. It is also easy as 123 to save. Right cick on the kindle icon and go to the "send to" .. Then, send it to "my documents" or better yet, desktop.
Amazon can't erase your hard drive or take your files away. I saved to flash, mine all mine for ever..lol
Go to my computer and open the file from there. Do a search if you can't find the file. But it has to be there if you did the download on a PC.

Ugh, that was terrible. Before they left for AK, Mady called Jon to come take her to his apartment and he did, with Robert in tow. He got no further than the gate. Kate said some nasties over the intercom and threatened to call the police. They had no choice but to leave.

Well, I sure as hell did! Eldest daughter was a JV cheerleader and practices were not always open to parents; I hid behind the bleachers! Another daughter was in flag corp of the marching band and was at first very embarrassed by dropping her flag and hitting herself in the head with it; she would only practice in the yard after dark! you can bet your bottom dollar I peeked from the bedroom window to watch her. One of my teens in high school taught a kindergarten class at Vacation Bible School, and I peeked for a few minutes at that too.
You can bet in years to come they love hearing the stories of how you peeked and all their hard work was making you so proud!

Know the context. Penn mommy is mentioned when Robert is quoting an obsessed fan saying Kate is a good mother and people like penn mommy should spend their energy for good. He's not endorsing or relying on penn mommy at all.

The procedures for enforcing your visits are not fun ones. You can call the cops and show them your custody order and they will make Mom turn over the kids and I've seen it happen. Of course then you have upset the kids over the cops being called. Or you can wait until Monday and get a court date, spend more money for a lawyer and get the judge to chastise her. Eventually if she does it 10 or 12 times you might, if you're lucky, get her held in contempt. Of course the end result is she hates you even more. So pick your poison. It's astounding the power a parent can have in a custody battle if they want to exercise it.

I don't think that any proof of this was ever given, except that she was shown on a sports team photo for ages over 18. It's possible that age exceptions can be made for kids who don't quite meet the age requirement, especially if they excel at that sport.
Are you aware of absolute proof, and not conjecture, was given as to Paige's age? If so, what was it?

In the book, Robert describes an evening he spent with Jon and the kids and Jon's GF (I assume Liz, although Robert doesn't name her) and her kids and her mother. The kids got Dunkin' Donuts after dinner. Jon made a bonfire and roasted marshmallows with the kids. The girls were making beaded bracelets and Jon got down and made bracelets with them. It just sounded so normal and real and FAMILY! I'm glad the kids get to have that experience with him, even if they don't with their gestational carrier.

Anonymous 71 is right. If you save the book to your hard drive, it's yours forever. The Kindle reader app just allows you to read what you've saved, just like Word or Excel lets you open a doc or a spreadsheet. Amazon might be able to pull the book from your online account and refund your money, but once you save it, there's nothing they can do.

Forgot -- Backing up the book on a flashdrive or CD is a good idea. However, keep in mind that you will not be able to open it on a computer that doesn't have the Kindle app on it. The good news is, once the book is downloaded, you don't have to be online to read it. There are software programs that can convert non-Kindle compatible books to a Kindle compatible format. I assume that there are those that can convert Kindle compatible to non-Kindle compatible. Calibre is one program that is a free download. NOTE -- I've never used it and don't know anything about it, but friends who are much more savvy than I speak highly of it.
Lilly -- I go through a book a day or more, too, and I'm having trouble getting through the book, too. It's a difficult read, both from an emotional standpoint and from a formatting standpoint. I read on my computer all the time (have both the Nook app and the Kindle app on my laptop), so it isn't that for me.

Admin, I believe Robert said in his book that he spoke to the person who was PennMommy. Penn was a proven complete fraud and both sides of the Gosselin fence realized this.
It does put some doubt in your mind as to Robert's 'sources'. Wish he would come on here and address this.

The Kindle books from Amazon are DRM protected. There is a way to remove it, but I won't list the steps. Just google "how to unlock DRM books" and you can find you way from there.
Now, if you want to burn your book to CD, Calibre program will do that, while retaining the DRM. But at least you will have your book if Amazon/Kindle somehow swipes your content.

Just me, it does cast doubt on the rest of his sources. Even GWOP agreed that Pennmommy was a fake and they were the ones who introduced us to her. I'm on the fence about Robert. Some of the stuff in the book just doesn't ring true for me.
The older gilrs do not look very petty in the new INF pics. Compared to the Mom who has all that surgery, hair done, makeup, and the kids don't even comb their hair. She wants them on TV, Disney and commercials, but does nothing to help the cause. They are not little kids anymore like she called them last night. They all appear very tall now. And they look older than their real age. Why is she still calling them little anything? Most parents tell children, you are my big/boy/girl now. Look how much you have grown. Bizzare behavior.

I apologize if this was already mentioned, but how about right after the separation when they were still splitting time in the house, Leah suffered with strep for 4 days. Kate was much too busy and important to attend to routine child care duites and always left appts. and such for Jon. In this case, Leah had been complaining about her throat for 4 days. Kate waited for Jon's custody and left him a note to take her to the pediatrician. I actually remember pap shots of that, they were in his BMW. Strep is so painful, I can't believe that lil pumpkin suffered with it for 4 days....

He reported this yogurt story back in 2009 and said it came from a church member. I don't recall penn mommy ever saying she was a church member did she, I don't recall. In any case a lot of people were fooled by that source so I can see them fooling Robert too. One bad source in the bunch doesn't mean they are all bad, it just means one bad source. Like I said before I would have preferred he stick to Kate's own words but that's just me.

After reading the book I could never REALLY feel sorry for that woman. If she thinks things are bad now, just wait. She hasn't even begun to reap what she has sown. I spoke to a woman who helped Kate with the kids when the sextuplets were first born. She told me Kate was a horrible person to be around. She thought she was a celebrity even back then. She was always demanding things get done fast and would fire people for nothing – people that worked for free because they wanted to help. This woman was from the church where Kate used to go. She told me that Kate was fanatical about helpers not using the family refrigerator. One time this woman put a yogurt in there to keep it cold for her lunch and Kate found it and started screaming at her. She yelled “how dare you put your food in our refrigerator!” and she took out the yogurt and threw it in the trash in front of her. She threatened to fire her if she ever did anything like that again. The woman quit after about a month. She couldn’t take it anymore. She couldn’t understand how a person getting everything for free, including help with her kids, could be so mean-spirited.

-many ideas for the show were Kate's, some used, others not, all designed to make her look like a hardworking mom who does everything 'for my kids'-'typically' parks illegally in fire lanes, wrong way or across several spaces horizontally
-does not observe seat belt laws and puts more kids stuffed in the back seat than legal
-uses the word 'retarded' in a disparaging manner quite often
-spends as little time with the kids as possible by extending nanny hours and drawing out shopping, errands and breaks promises to the children regularly which bothers the twins- not the tups as they are used to nothing else
Penn mommy's story, according to google, was that someone wasn't allowed to help themselves to one yogurt out of the fridge. Frankly, stealing.
Robert's story from a church goer is Kate didn't want her to store her own food, brought from home, in the fridge which was just one little yogurt. Coincidentally the same food, but two different stories.

I'm not ready to buy into the Paige is older theory. I never saw more than a couple of photos of a girl with dark hair posing with a hockey team. Paige plays soccer. Her last name is far from uncommon.
Regarding Pennmommy - I'm going from memory, but as I recall, she intially said that she took something from the fridge. She said it wasn't yogurt, but something like yogurt. Then Kate found out about it and freaked out.
That is different from someone putting their own yogurt in the fridge. That's a different story from the pennmommy story.
Not going to argue with you Admin., but, I believe you are mistaken on PennMommy.

Can't understand Carla...or Beth. Carla was a used servant, not a friend in Kate's eyes.True enabler. (See lists in RH book of chores for her to do.) Remember how she put away kitchen cupboard contents on Kitchen Reveal? Kate acted like 'that's a true friend' but likely ordered Carla to do it.

Paige recently graduated from high school. About 2 yrs ago she tweeted that someone contacted her high school and she tweeted about getting into trouble. This was when she still had her original public facebook page and her real name was posted on her twitter profile. I don't know about her pages now, but I remember at the time her location was posted and her school's name was known. She closed that FB and twitter accounts and iirc, in less than a week she was back to tweeting and supporting Kate just like now. I believe she's under 20.
Honestly who cares about the yogurt story? If those weren't Kate's journals her lawyers wouldnt be able to block the book. There is plenty of damning info in the journals.

There are only 3 or 4 media corps in this country. The same corp that has controlling interest of Discovery also controls People magazine and NBC and others. I found that a few years ago in something that had nothing to do with Queen Bee. Also, they have controlling interest in Radar Online.

Even when I was looking for a job in documentary film production after college, I would not have been able to be part of a crew that witnessed the abuse of children and the wrath of their mother. And this, just based on what was shown on television. I would have broken my contract of silence, reported her and been fired and sued. How could Jen Stocks have supported this abuse for so many years? The sound guys? The camera guy? I believed K. Gosselin's brother and sister-in-law when they said the crew came to them to voice concern over the physical and emotional punishment the kids were receiving at the hands of their mother.

It could be that no one wants to come forward because of the way Kevin and Jodi were treated in the media. They were ridiculed, accused of just wanting money, and vilified. It was horrible. No one believed them and TLC did the same thing to them that they did to Jon.

I don't remember reading that, but I'm sure not questioning that it is correct! What would happen if they said no, they weren't going to clear out the bank lobby? Oh...wait!! If they didn't agree to her demand, I suppose she would move her bank accounts from that bank?

Gingerbread, the Nook is sold by Barnes and Noble. The Kindle by Amazon. The e-books you buy from the sites are sent by wi-fi to the device. I don't think having a firewall would be a problem.
It's basically your own preference on which device you buy. I prefer the Kindle because it seems that Amazon has more e-books. But I also have a Nook for my students as I was given a very generous gift card and used that to get a Nook. I found plenty of books for my students at the Barnes and Noble site.

But he insisted that he ‘didn’t have lunch’ when really he had put it on the credit card!!!! That was the absolute end to the most horrible day in history!!!! He is referring to an old article he wrote in 2009. Not some kind of current source. At the time he was pumping out article after article when the tabloids were clamoring for it. If it was inaccurate, I don't find it all that shocking there might be a few bad sources in the bunch. It's not like he interviewed her or used her as a source since then.
Actually I don't recall he said owners. Robert said that that FedEx employee did have to sign a CA. If these people do not sign, then do not get her business. She is the richest person in the township, I presume.

In Robert's book, he quotes the inside flap of Kate's IJWYTK as saying, "Starting from the time the little kids turned two...I began writing prayers - in essense, my own letters to God - in my journal as an expression of faith."
That's acknowledgment from Kate's own words that she did indeed have journal entries from that time period, and her motivation for doing them. Prayers of a sort, confessions of a sort, material for a book. The tone of the writings comes across to me as others have described it - I think she really thought anyone reading those entries would feel sorry for her because she was so stressed.

And what about him calling her racist? I found that part of the book a little off. Anyone else? I thought he was reaching there.

With regards to the legalese of Discovery's letter to Robert Hoffman, even if Robert's book did contain "trade secrets" how is his publishing that breaking the law since he has no obligation to protect said "trade secrets" through any contract with Discovery?

I'd love to hear from a psychologist on this one. What is it in the sheeple brain that makes them continue to follow her? Is this a Manson cult-like thing, and these are all members of the "family," or is it that they really lack intelligence and reasoning (which really isn't their fault), or is it because to quit on her now would be like having egg on their faces because they have abandoned her in their hour of need?
All of the above, or something more?
In their need to deflect by calling Robert a stalker, has any of them called the documents, contracts, e-mails as being fabrications? If so, do they explain how Robert managed to do this? I think that if God himself were the author of this book, they would all quickly become atheists, saying that God doesn't exist, so therefore, the book is a total fraud.

It is complex and fascinating.
At this point, they are unable to admit who Kate really is. They are too invested. To admit Kate is a mentally ill fraud would mean they have wasted 4 years of their lives fervently defending her. They want to believe they weren't lied to and tricked. They have lottery ticket mentality. Quick money, big money, mansion, cars, being paid to go on vacation. They want to believe it's that easy. They have ice water in their veins instead of blood, and the mothering instincts of a feral cat, just like Kate. Someone who is the mother of 4 yr old twins, who sits at their computer obsessively screengrabbing all day while tweeting every hour that we're all getting "supoenaed" is showing her priority in life. Birds of a feather....
What was really sick and telling to me is how they were up in arms about a facebbok photo a couple weeks ago. I mentioned this before, it was a pic of a little girl giving the finger and it was probably photoshopped. They were OUTRAGED and they were hot on the trail to find this poor child's hater mother and call CPS in their area. This went on for days until they let it go. Kate writes in her own journal about throwing her kids in the crib, pulling them up by the hair and spanking them very hard. For m&ms? Having a potty accident on the floor? Getting out of their crib before the 4 hour "nap" was over? Oh, no big whoop, we beat our kids too. Many books recommend it.
And they seem to more or less get that these are Kate's words, yet Robert is a creepy,thieving, peeping stalker. He should have given their Qween her privacy when she detailed her horrific abuse of those kids she lives for. He should'nt have revealed that Kate doesn't cook, clean or do laundry. Ever. She doesn't even grocery shop. He's bursting their bubble. Fingers in ears {lalalalalalalalala}
I don't think there's really anything Kate could do to change their minds, no matter how vile it is. This core group of 6 will never, ever concede to Kate lies, fraud, mental illness and deception of good and generous people.

I went to the dance supply store in Reading today to back report the TLC filming yesterday.
I’ve been going in there for years getting my daughter’s dance supplies so I know the owner well enough to ask questions. She signed a confidentiality agreement for TLC which said she couldn’t talk to anybody about anything that she saw, but she told me off the record that “Kate was very polite and courteous while the crew was filming, but as soon as they stopped, she lost her smile and became very bossy to the camera guys, telling them which angles to shoot her from and when to and not to shoot the kids. She yelled at the kids to behave several times when the cameras were off but laughed off their behavior when they were taping. Seemed to treat the kids like props rather than little people. She talks to them with disdain, like they’re a burden to her. The kids didn’t seem to mind though. They looked very happy and the nanny was there to take care of them. She would take them to the bathroom and be there to control them for Kate. I lost some business yesterday because the TLC crew wouldn’t let any of my customers inside the store. At least four people were turned away while they were here for over an hour and I had to explain to them over the phone what was happening. It was fun though. It was nice to see the kids. They tried on shoes and leotards and bought some clothing for gymnastics and ballet."

Bubbles #180, it's amazing, isn't it, that she considered her journal entries as "letters to God...and expression of her faith." Does she really think that putting in writing about how she abused her children was an "expression of her faith"? Hitting them with wooden spoons, pulling them up by their hair, throwing them into their crib, etc. These are letters to God and expressions of her faith?
Maybe she should have spent more time truly learning what faith is and how to truly live that life, instead of making excuses for the abuse she heaped upon those poor little toddlers.
Speaking of little, she had a tweet yesterday I believe where she called the tups the "littles" again. They are not little, they are 8 years old and she needs to stop trying to 'babyfy'(?) them. (Not sure if that is a word, but it is all I could come up with.)

I don't care what Robert called Kate or what his opinion of her is and does it really make a difference? IMO, it's enough to take the proof of Kate's own words and the contracts and e-mail correspondence and form my own opinion. Let's not shoot the messenger.

As an FYI, I do not have the book. I had other things going on yesterday and didn't get the book. Now I can't. Therefore, I only know what is in the book from what all of you great posters are writing about it. Thank you for keeping me informed.

I've never had a trade secrets case but I tend to agree with you. The breach was with Kate. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me since sifting through garbage is legal, what you find in there is fair game.

This is annoying, no one in Kate's camp has ever suggested something was libelous about the book.
It does no good to put the book on your PC unless you can find a file converter to open it. So far, I've had no luck. Amazon has the Kindle files encrypted to keep them from opening on a PC.

If you are referring to your initial purchase of the book and didn't have kindle on your pc, when you order the book it asks you where you want it sent...I hit the pc icon, worked like a charm.

I downloaded my kindle books from my pc to a flashdrive. These are cheap, can be purchased at any bigbox/computer store...
I keep pics, music, etc. on my flashdrive. It plugs into a computer port.
I have never done it before (kids always do it for me, when giving me new music or their newest pics),but I wanted to save this book in the event it gets yanked from our kindle accts.
Insert the flashdrive into your computer.
1. turn off the internet.
2. right click on your kindle icon on your desktop.
3. click on SEND TO
4. click on DVD RAM drive (D)
I only have the sample of the book and the actual book, and I think it took less than 5 minutes.
I can plug my flashdrive into any computer and read the book.

Reading the above passage about the shopping shows made me think of this. Remember the curious gladiator shoes, plunging halter tops and Daisy Dukes with red heels phase? Robert confirms that this was planned and calculated. It was part of an image revitilization effort for Kate and this was the "hot mama" portion of the plan.
I just giggled and ROTFLMAO when I read that!! For real, people who call themselves executives sit around and think this shit up and with a straight face incorporate this into "a plan." Is that one of the "trade secrets"! Hahahahahahahaha!

I respectfully disagree. Telling her children to call the African American bodyguard "Mr. Chocolate" sounds racist to me.
