Paparazzi photos from fall 2009 show how intrusive filming was
The newly released disturbing photos were taken during filming of the final episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8.

I remember being shocked at the time the divorce was settled so quickly. They never went to trial, they settled it in negotiations.
I have a funny feeling that Kate asked for the lion's share and that at that point Jon just wanted it over and done with and knew that if he tried to fight Kate it could drag on years. So he just let her have what she wanted--the house, the cars, the assets. I also think he thought he would still be able to make his own money like before and didn't anticipate how hard that would be. He thought he wouldn't need the assets.
Oh that's why I laugh when Kate says later on she gave him the BBB. What a martyr. You mean the BBB you obviously insisted on keeping in the divorce settlement when rightfully half was his?
I have not (and will not) read I Just Want You To Know, but thank you for sharing some scary passages from it.
It's beyond my ability to understand why a mother would not have baby monitors in bedrooms to hear what's going on. No way would you miss a room being trashed.
She's beyond dumb.
Nowadays, it's easy to set up a camera to monitor rooms, but with 6 premie HOM's, I would have, NO DOUBT, invested in CC TV in the bedrooms and the basement.
It is not expensive at all.
On Dr. Phil, a film package was used during Kate's interview and Kate described how she goes and goes and goes all day. Of course, no help is seen in the package, but Kate says that she gets up at 8 (wtf?, we know she handed over child duty to Jon at night) and makes breakfast. Then all the kids get sent to the basement--where no one can see them?
6 toddlers and no eyeballs on them?
And we saw that that door was closed so that no kid could get back up.
Another bit from the book,
"(toddler) was asleep with poop from head to toe and all over (their) crib!...I was so mad and woke (kid) up with my angry voice. I put (kid) in the bathtub and stood (kid) in an inch of water to soak (their) feet and showered (kid). Poor little (kid) was shaking, as I cleaned her up." Probably because the poor kid was terrified of their own mother!
Right after this, Kate finds out that another kid made a mess in the kitchen with the water from the fridge door. Kate writes, "I seriously lost it, so I put (kid) in (their) crib until Jon got home and told him he could get the 'monster' and feed (them) dinner. I was so frustrated!"

These are the kinds of things that Kate voluntarily writes about, I don't want to know what goes on in the house! And what a love note for her children, which is what this book is supposed to be! The woman is nuts!
To all the teenage girls who think Kate is such a great role model for motherhood, please, reconsider!!!

My thoughts about the invoice:
I think TLC paid for Steve's bodyguard services. If that is true, that invoice would have been sent to TLC, not Jon and Kate. Which leads me to suspect someone at TLC is providing info. Thus the pictures in Hawaii, Disney World, and the ones about the number of takes.
The invoice is for Oct. 9-Oct 12,2008, which is just before they moved to the new house.
In his post, Robert says "Jon and Kate and two kids". Those kids were probably Mady and Cara, and they took them along to celebrate their birthday(Oct.8) with a trip to DW. I'm sure they must have taken someone else along to help, especially since Jon and Kate were doing a speaking engagement. It's possible that whoever else accompanied them took those pictures.
First, my theory: Robert was a pap, maybe assigned to go with the Gosselins on some trips, thus the photos and insider info. If that's not the case and Jon has worked with him on his book, so what.
Second, I agree that maybe their first season of Jon and Kate Plus 8 may not have been the cash cow that the later seasons were, but they made $$ just the same.
Third, in looking at those old photos of Kate, her plastic surgeon, dermatologist (botox) and hairdresser have not been kind to her. What a skank she is now.
And remember, the rate Steve got was in the early years. I'm sure he got a raise, just like Jon and Kate did. It was a money maker enterprise for everyone.
I don't get the impression that Robert will come out with blockbuster proof that Steve and Kate were a couple, but will probably supply info and leave that up to the reader. He was teasing his audience about Steve, but for sure Steve ingratiated himself with Kate and, IMO, took over Jon's position as the man in the family. I bet Robert saw and heard plenty. Think about it. Jon was a public punching bag and cut off in the bedroom. No wonder he suspected Steve was the source of problems (besides being married to a bitch).

Good lord the woman is nuts. Her stories are full of shit and it isn't baby poop. She made that stuff up for sympathy. She's a liar. She's never really been left alone with those babies or they'd never have survived.
Oh my!!! I've never read any of her books but the excerpts from them are unbelievable. What kind of mother gets that upset with a toddler. I truly believe that she abused these children and that RH's book will confirm this. Kate if you read here, I hope your pooping YOUR pants in panic that one day you'll have to answer to this child abuse. No way could/should she have custody of those children. Did no one point out to the authorities or child protective services what she wrote in this book? My cat sometimes has poop accidents and I treat her better than that.

Kate not monitoring her children, Kate getting angry at a sleeping child for making a poopy mess, and calling one of the kids a monster for making a mess in the kitchen (again, where's the supervision??) makes her guilty of child neglect/abuse.
It's a wonder she's never hurt her children to the point of investigation.
I agree with Admin, I guess Jon let Kate have the lion's share of the assets. He was still under contract to TLC, so still bringing in his own money. He thought he would continue making the big bucks but TLC put a stop to that. Jon also probably let her have it due to the kids, he probably wanted them to continue in 'their' house, their school, so he manned up and let Kate have almost everything.
I don't drink much coffee, maybe a cup a day if that. But when I do, I love my coffee with a dollop of whipped cream! Yep, that's right, whipped cream. My sister started me on that last year and now that's the only way I'll drink my coffee.

Didn't Jon say once that he'd set up a trust fund for the kids that KK couldn't touch? Maybe that's where most of his assets from the marriage went. I also agree that it's possible he let KK have the lion's share of the family assets because he thought it would benefit the children (in which case, he should have known better. KK's only in it for herself).
KK has gone on record as saying she doesn't notice other people. Apparently, that applies to her own children as well. And calling a kid a "monster" and exiling him/her because of a WATER mess? Really Kate. It's only water. It dries up very easily. Be thankful it wasn't soda or juice or milk (oh, I forgot. Your kids don't get milk). THAT would have required cleaning.
All these stories kind of make me want to run over to my local Dollar Tree to pick up a copy of her book! Nah, I'll just save my $$ for Robert's book...
Why would she need to take photos of the trashed room--for memories?
What was her purpose for even writing about it--to show how hard SHE had it? Did she even think how the kids would feel when they finally read the book? It should have been titled "I Just Want You to Know How Much of a Burden You Were to Me--And Don't Ever Forget It".
No one's remarked about this yet.....a bodyguard drinking on the job? That's the height of unprofessionalism, not to mention unsafe. How are you supposed to protect people if you're buzzed or worse?

I bought two books at Dollar Tree yesterday. Hardbound copies of mysteries by favorite authors. The books were remaindered because the paperback version was just released. The only one of KKs books I've ever seen at Dollar Tree was "Eight Little Faces" and it was in a basket marked 2/$1. So the dollar store can't even sell her books!
KK better watch her caffeine intake. Josh Hamilton, the reigning American League MVP just had to take a few days off playing due to vision problems caused by too much caffeine. It affected his corneas.

The heart on the airplane wall is because it is Southwest airlines. This must be a picture from the flight when she had her meltdown. I think it was when they were going skiing and had to detour to Boise. This was not a first class flight as Southwest does not have first class.
OT - Silpat baking sheet
Do any of you use a silicone baking sheet? I know one name is Silpat, but there are probably others too.
I know it can take the heat of the oven. What I am specifically wondering is how hard it is to clean after use.
I make a lot of crackers and so far have been using parchment paper to roll out between and then to bake on.
Any benefit to buying a silpat type sheet?

I checked it out from the library! No way would I buy this book, but lately I have been wondering if maybe we've been too hard on Kate and I wanted some of the story from her point of view and they happened to have it there. Um, yeah, totally on the "Save the Eight" band wagon now!!!
Some insight into Kate's mental process about the show, that I thought was very interesting...
She writes all about her "mommy makeover" and in particular writes about starting to do promotional things. (I think this refers to the Proctor and Gamble thing, but she doesn't specify). I think her identity became wrapped up in her "job". Over course, most normal people wouldn't really consider it a job! She writes,
"In NY City, I noticed other moms were on the job scene as well. Where I lived, the career mom was not normal, but in NY it was. It was good to fit in....I didn't know I would enjoy business, but after taking it on as a new challenge, I realized I loved it. Nursing had never been my ideal career....The challenge of this new career fit me perfectly, and I wanted to do more." (pg 146)
Again, Kate! Not a "career"!
But, this is an example of Kate logic...
talking about security issues...
"You can imagine that we did start to question our chosen profession with the increasing security issues. But any parent with a dangerous job has to make the same choices. And again, (I'll spell this out for Kate) fire fighters ONLY put THEMSELVES at risk, not their 8, count 'em 8, CHILDREN!!!!!!!

First of all, how old were these kids when they supposedly knocked over dressers?!? None of the kids were that big and even if they teamed up, I don't see the 6 knocking over dressers. Not buying it.
Second of all, let's suppose for a minute that by some miracle, the spirit of Hercules came to their bedroom and helped them knock over the dressers. Kate couldn't hear a dresser, full of clothes and heavy, fall over?!? If dressers were truly knocked over, they would have made such a loud crash; unless Herc gently laid them on the floor so the kids wouldn't get in trouble.
I just don't buy any of the crap she's selling.

After reading these excerpts, isn't it amazing that these kids are still alive? It's beyond comprehension.
But, you know, even when they were older, we watched them on vacations, going through airports, walking around towns, and Kate never kept an eye on them. It seemed it was always the responsibility of someone else. She'd walk ahead, preoccupied with the camera crew or directing someone, and the kids would just kind of wander around. I remember one episode at a museum where she was doing her own thing, and two of the kids weren't with the rest of them. It bothered me at the time. She couldn't have know where they were because she was busy hamming it up for the cameras.
As a momma bear (or den mother, as DH calls me) I am constantly making sure I know where everyone is -- at amusement parks, shopping, the park, whatever. I would never leave a toddler alone in a basement (or any other room) without adult supervision. NEVER. In fact, I am somewhat OCD about it. I count kids, not sheep.
These kids must have had guardian angels watching out for them because their mother certainly didn't.
I remember when I went to my first college party.
I came hour late my mom was so worried she called the police.
I was like over protective much-lol.
Silpat sheets are AWESOME. No more sticking. Martha Stewart always used them, so thought I'd buy one. LOVE IT.

I am the same way. We don't have a basement because househunting and realizing that I couldn't hear the kids in basements was too nerve racking to me! I probably will have a baby monitor in my kids rooms til they move out! Ha! (not really a bad idea!)
I don't believe the trashed room story either, I think it was Kate's way of creating a story that shows her remarkable reliance on a God who loves her kids more than she does and who keeps them safe (which I also don't believe), but if that's the example she creates, it is crazy!
There are two pictures with the story. The room is messy, the dry wall is off the wall, there are diapers all over, but there is an upright dresser in the photo and a unbroken lamp on the floor.
Her neightbors said no tires were slashed. Totally made up.

To follow up on some postings the other night when we were discussing food (which is a lot here!), my Cranberry Beef Stew was quite good. In fact, DH squeeled! and rated it a 10/10!
Just kidding, but he was making some Mmmmm noises.
Here's how you do it:
Set crockpot on low for 6 hours.
Dump in 1 can or box of good cranberry sauce, 1 packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix, 2 Tbsp. brown sugar and 2 bay leaves.
Season 2 lbs beef cubes for stew (chuck) and give a light coat of flour. Brown beef in olive oil and transfer to crockpot in batches.
Keep heat on and place one small/medium diced onion in pan and stir for 2 minutes. Add one package fresh chopped mushrooms (your choice, I used cremini) and stir 2 minutes.
Turn heat up and deglaze pan with 1 1/2 cups to 2 cups red wine.
Simmer 2 minutes.
Add to crockpot.
Stir occasionally and adjust s&p to taste.
Serve over egg noodles.
Seriously good. I might bring it to a picnic in a couple weeks.

I always read the acknowledgments page as it shows more "real life" than the book and usually has some personal jokes or whatever that show you insight into personality.
Here's Kate's "Acknowledgments" page...

Two things stand out: the initials. No names, which makes these people hard to track down and then ask questions about Kate later. (which is why I think she didn't name anyone.)
No, 'to my Lord and creator who gets me through every day' which is typical of Christian authors, especially when writing a Christian inspiration book. (which, I take as further evidence that her faith is fake). She, of course, thanks all those responsible for her physical appearance, just not God.

And I also think you could spend your whole life striving for the best while leaving family and friends in the dust, which isn't good either.

I think it happened and she added to the crime scene for effect- shows the tups did not need a 4 hr nap.Maybe the room was messy and she just wanted an excuse to get Carl to clean up!
Remember in the E-townhouse how they ended up sleeping on mattresses on the floor with dark grey blankets? What happened to the beds she HAD to pick and the comforters (one Joel had the nerve to vomit on?) I still think Kate is a slob and hoarder.

She got the house in her name with the divorce, I assume, so she had to pay Jon his share since both names,I believe, were on the mortgage. Also, even though TLC did not use him in any filming after the divorce, he had a contract with them and I can guarantee you that they had to continue paying Jon per the terms of the contract until it expired or they paid him off in full, thus his child support at $22k based upon his salary. You cannot terminate someone with a contract without penalty. I guess he thought things would not be that bad financially, but could not find a job that paid as well as TLC.
Twit:::: Kate probably sent Austin a message saying he can't sell anything with her name on it unless she gets a cut of it. Otherwise he'll end up being treated like she treated Em Tanner.
No way is anyone making money off of Kate (or her kids).
Those bracelets are stupid and self-gratifying anyway. I made pretty much the same comment about them on the previous blog entry but it gotten run over by some posts on other important topics.
I've never seen initials used in acknowledgments either. It's always first names and often first and last. That is the point, to acknowledge people.

I think JM is Julie Carson May. JA would be Jamie Ayers. I noticed she thanked Ted Gibson(TG), Jason Baecke(JB) and RD(the other hairdresser-Ron something)for making her look good, but there is no DB-her good friend, makeup artist,Deanna Bell.

Actually, he may just have gotten only one year's salary as compensation when they booted him off the show. OT - I saw Tabitha from Tabithia Take Over which is a realty show on Bravo last night at the airport. Guess What?? She was by herself, No bodyguard, No entourage, No drawing attention to herself. Just casually buying a drink from Starbucks. People recoginized her, but everyone respected her privacy.
Bitter End, she can try to take his kids away, or punish them because of his actions. That would be a great way to punish him.

Question for the cat lovers, we discovered a kitten living in our shed. It can't be more than 3 mos old. I really want to get it out, but it is terrified of people and runs under the floor when I go out. However, it is getting quite cold here at night, and as I snuggle my own kitty baby in my warm bed at night, I think often of it and getting it out. Should we use a live trap or just try to feed it and win its trust slowly? Is there a chance that it can grow used to humans? Kids? Other cats? Not sure what to do, but I can't leave it in the shed!

Kate can't be earning much off her website. She doesn't keep it up or add things to it. She was supposed to add the name of some health cereal or something from attending the BlogHer convention but she never did although the woman who is affiliated with the product asked at least twice.

Mama K, when I was a kid I was notorious for adopting feral cats. It will take patience, but food always works. The kitten is young enough that it will learn to trust. (I hear of other states where there is a waiting period, delay after court date, etc. *I* walked into court fully married, and left 10 minutes later fully divorced.)
But I digress as usual! In PA, would ALL assets have to be declared and adjudicated on up to the moment of the divorce, or is there some kind of cutting off period at the time of 'legal seperation'? At least one of the "Kate Only" corporations was formed 2 months before the divorce was finalized, ie STILL LEGALLY MARRIED.

I didn't read her books, dont' know the ages of the kids at the time of the destruction, but that sort of mess takes TIME, and lots of it. How in the world can you NOT hear dressers hitting the floor (even with carpet), glass breaking? a dresser had to have hit the drywall to do that sort of damage, and that would have been some noticeable noise.
What could she have been doing to not hear something like that? I have a two story house, and anything dropped, I hear downstairs. She's lucky none of the kids were hurt.

For Beth to suddenly leave in the middle of the planned trip, I always figured it had to be pretty bad. I used to think it was that it dawned on her that Kate and Steve were a couple, but now I wonder if Kate didn't accidentally remove her veneer of civility and rip into Beth for something. The split was sudden and decisive.
MamaK -- To expand on what TLC Stinks said -- Let the kitty lead the way. Don't push it. Just sit quietly nearby and don't make any sudden moves. Use food as a lure. Once it's comfortable coming out when you are present, you can start talking quietly to it. Let it get used to the sound of your voice. Gradually move the food closer to you. It will take a lot of patience and a lot of time, but there are great rewards. A friend of mine discovered a very feral momma cat with a litter of 4 kittens under her back deck. It took her a month to get momcat to trust her. One fall morning she opened the back door to find momcat and all 4 kittens sitting by the door. Momcat strolled into the kitchen, chirped at the babies to follow, and they took over the house. All of the kittens found forever homes and momcat was spayed and is now a very spoiled lapcat.
I went back and reread the excerpts from "I Just Want to Spew a Bunch of Crap to Make Money" that MamaK posted and I'm even more appalled than I was the first time. It's true, she has no mothering instinct whatsoever, and doesn't have the sense God gave a goose. I was never blessed with children, but I began babysitting when I was 10, and even at that age I knew that you don't leave toddlers alone unsupervised. Of course, you can't watch them every second, so you create a safe area for them. One where they can't break anything or pull anything over on themselves. Then you check in on them every 10 minutes or so. YOU DON'T LEAVE THEM ALONE FOR 4 FRELLING HOURS!! That witch doesn't deserve children.

The disturbing thing about that segment of the book is, she was either horribly negligent in caring for those babies or she's a pathological liar.
It doesn't surprise me that the kids pooped their diapers at bedtime - when you leave your kids in their cribs for hours on end WITHOUT changing their diapers timely, you're going to end up with a mess. I never understood how those kids were up before she was and when she did get up, she went in to fix breakfast, THEN went in to greet them and change their diapers. I always went in the nursery first thing and changed their diapers before doing anything else because they were always wet.
Even as early as the first Discovery special, she said she put the babies in another room with Cara & Mady to play with while she tended to other business. I always thought she was very lucky to not have anything bad happen b/c 6 babies watched by 4 year olds isn't a good idea.

The UTah trip was when Kate and Beth concocted up the vow renewal in Hawaii--at least that was how it was portrayed on film. Kate actaully says vow renewal/trip to Hawaii.
If Beth suspected something was up between KAte and Steve at the same time Kate was talking about a vow renewal, timing is perfect for a quick departure on Beth's part.

No. It is not a community property state. It is an equitable distribution state. Divorce is either fault or no-fault. No fault can be filed and it typically takes 3-4 months for the divorce to be finalized if it's not contested.

At that point he was still drawing a TLC salary, and that is what the 22,000 tax free child support was calculated on. I hope the kids tax dependent statuses were equally divided..can you imagine making a salary large enough to require a 22000 child support payment with no deductions? damn.
He probably thought he could do other tv work, then tlc said 'nope, you are our biotch', and as a result, he ended up almost broke.

We had a kitten living outside under the deck. One of the kids was able to get her and bring her inside. She was wild, no doubt about it. We kept her in a crate for a few days until she was socialized enough not be be afraid. From there we moved her to my son's room (not crated) rather than to let her have the run of the house with the other animals. We took her to the vet for the immunizations, worm check, etc. She spent about a week in my son's room. He was home quite a bit, and she became totally attached to him. When we were sure that she would be okay living with the rest of us in the house, we let her out of his room.
The other animals (cats and dog) accepted her like she had always been there, and now she is gentle, loving, sleeps in any bed she wants and is part of the family. You'd never know she was a wild kitten. That was several years ago. The mother cat still roams around here, and I'm hoping that she's not scouting out our yard for another birthing location!

Second-I think this whole bracelet thing is a slap in the face to any organization that sells these bracelets in order to raise funds for their charity. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and selling pink bracelets is part of the campaign.

I wonder that myself. What is going to be the fall out to TLC once the book is published. If TLC's business practices will be exposed (I hope) what will be the long term affect of the exposure. Will it be business as usual, will TLC employees bail and look for other jobs, will these employees have trouble finding work?
Time will tell. And based on past experience, whom ever comes in contact with Kate comes out the other side bruised and shaking their heads for what she has done to them. Could TLC careers be in jeopardy. Perhaps I'm reaching a bit here in my speculation, but time will tell.
I don't think TLC gives a donkeys tail about the book. They have plenty of lawyers to protect themselves, just the way they did when Jon tried to blow the whistle on their underhanded tactics with him. No one in the media acknowledged that TLC had done anything wrong.

More interesting in her having those corporation addresses at the UPS Store is that NO P.O. Box is listed. She deliberately only included the street address of the UPS Store. How does she get her mail for K8 and SK8 Inc's?

Oh my, oh my, oh my...I'm loving Robert's newest blog post about Skeve. This has turned my frustrating day into one of puppies and rainbows!
My money is burning a hole in my pocket in anticipation of buying this book. (I never bothered purchasing those other two books.) I don't even care if most of it contains stuff we already know. This is a MUST HAVE.
If Kate put as much effort into getting/keeping a job as she does with Twitter she wouldn't have time or need to worry about the truths are are spilling for her $5 a cup Starbucks coffee. She could have had so much more out of life had she not gone the route of reality television. Sure we might now have known her name but there are plenty of people and opportunities out there that are just as rewarding if not far greater than putting yourself on television.
The way I see it, Kate, let me explain something to you. Don't worry I'll go slow just in case you miss it the first go around. Yeah, sure go ahead, get a pen and a piece of paper I'll wait.
I notice when you have spoken on camera even if you have claimed it's always been real and whatnot...why do you have to put in the word, "show?" I view it as any other television show out there. Show as in something that is put on the screen to entertain others. How can you put real life and the word "our show," in the same sentence. Speaks to me the idea that not even you believed half of the things you did with TLC would have ever actually been your real life without cameras.
Bottom line is both you and everyone else know it isn't true. Without TLC you wouldn't have gone to Australia. The only thing that would have happened on your own might have been a future divorce. But with the attitude you have I can't say it wouldn't have been seen coming.

I, too, felt sorry for Pamela Anderson on DWTS last night. She was holding back tears at scoring time. Kate could have learned something from Pamela about viewer/fan relations. Pamela is likeable; Kate is not. Pamela has never exploited her children. She has tried to protect them. I wonder who ever told Kate that more than a few people are interested in her need for coffee in the morning? Silly, isn't it?
I noticed Nadeya Suleman asking Dr. Phil this week about changing her image/perception with the American public. Kate could use some advise as well. I see these two women as listening to the advise, then doing exactly like they want to do it. They know it all, don't you know?
