A series of recent events have made it clear to me that Kate Gosselin and her contributions do not align with the authenticity which we set out to build almost a decade ago, and that Ms. Gosselin is simply not a good fit with the wonderful team and culture at CouponCabin.
It’s with this that I am writing to inform you of our decision to discontinue Ms. Gosselin’s feature blog on CouponCabin.com. Ms. Gosselin’s contributions garnered both positive attention and criticism, but as always, I respect and appreciate your candid opinions, which often encourage us not to lose sight of our mission — to help YOU save money.

Oh snap.....Kate Gosselin fired as blogger is one of the top stories on CNN.com. They usually only include one or two of the biggest entertainment stories in their lineup each morning. Yikes!
I would have been on suicide watch by now. I really hope teflon Kate is okay. She's silent on Twitter. Who wouldn't just want to curl up and die being fired like this?

And this is where she just doesn't get it. Had she taken the time to learn how to be really good at promoting things on Twitter and on her web site and on CC (hint, at least get their twitter name correct, Kate), companies would be happier. Companies would send her more free stuff, other companies would see what a good promoter she is, they would put in a good word for her at CC, and that freebie train would just keep on trucking. Her laziness and lack of interest in learning how to do ANYTHING well did her in, AGAIN.

MaggieL @128 (928 if the page flips) makes a good point. She said "I cannot see any network, much less any sponsor, wanting to toss their support in her direction now. The backlash would be tremendous!" Kate can film all the pilots she wants but before the show airs she's got to have sponsors that are willing to run their commercials during her show. Most networks depend on selling advertising time during a show to make their money (think of how much per minute it costs to run a commercial during the Super Bowl) because unless a show goes into syndication it's not going to make much. I don't think that there are many companies now that will want to be associated with her. I think this will be especially true if The Book is re-released. I could be wrong, but I don't think so.
I think she is in hiding. She has never been this quiet for this long. The world has finally caught on to her and everywhere she goes she knows what people are thinking of her. She's trying it figure out what to do to defuse everything.

If this dating show is being filmed, Kate is wasting her time and money. The concept of the show was already done on CBS, a couple of months ago. Called: 3 Girls traveling around the world, looking for love. That show lasted 2 episodes and was canned. So what does Kate think, hers is different? What cause she has 8 kids? She already did a no-no, by going to a trendy bar, how can this be a family friendly Dating show? Again Kate not doing research, as in where women her age that have children, go to find men, to date. Going to a trendy LA bar, where most of the people there are at least 10-15 years younger than her, who probably not give her the time of day.
Reminds me of the Banger Sisters movie: when Goldie Harm character, at the very beginning of the movie, was tryin to live the life of a 20-30 something, with the kids at the bar. The new owner, fired her, cause she was too old. Kate is tryin to recapture her 20's. Your too old for that Kate. Granted, there are older guys in their 30-50, who go to these bars looking for women in their 20-30, but not ones with 8 kids, or a past, as well known as Kates. They could date Kate to get their mug in the news. From all the negative comments out there, Kate is not well liked, at all.

The sheeple will never accept that she made wise investments and does not live paycheck to paycheck because they cannot imagine any other way to live. They don't need to know multi-millionaires, there are plenty of mediocre people who don't spend their extra cash on Jon and Kate DVDs and on whatever product Kate says she likes and don't live paycheck to paycheck either and could float for a long time if they ever got fired. Kate had PLENTY of money to be responsible about it. If she hasn't built herself a nice emergency fund for emergencies just like this, that's not anyone's problem but hers. She also shouldn't have, as she claimed, renounced child support. She should have anticipated she might lose her job before the kids are 18. Again, that's her fault and not her employer's concern.

This is what I strongly feel. Scott put up with her diva behavior and lies and everything just trying to run the contract out and quietly get rid of her. But then the child abuse allegations came out and he confronted Kate about issuing a denial and was told by their lawyers they weren't willing to do anything but say no comment.
Look at Scott's charities. Children, children, children. Abused children. He has built a charity empire with his foundation. He could risk his entire charity crashing down if his child abuse charities thought he was willingly letting an admitted child abuser stay on his staff. At that point it was about him, his company and his foundation. At that point he HAD to write a public letter explaining he wanted absolutely nothing to do with this woman. Everything he had built was at risk of being accused of being a sham if he didn't.
Anger Issues, I don't take employment numbers with a grain of salt at all, but that wasn't the point I was making. I was just making a joke that now it's 46,000 and ONE! Kate.
I think the Penn State effect played a role too, and this is a good thing. The public outrage at all the people just standing by letting an abuser exist among them was tremendous.
Scott sure as heck wasn't going to be yet another Penn Stater who let a child abuser just co-exist among HIS empire and do nothing about it. Really, he had no choice here but to fire her.

gabby2 -- It's not true that a dog (or a cat for that matter) lives its life in a cage at the breeders. Responsible breeders don't keep their animals caged, they raise them underfoot. They may have crates that they are confined in at certain times, but they get plenty of family interaction and run time. It's the puppy (and kitty) mills that keep their animals confined in cages.
Mel 163 -- I agree with you on all counts, except that the kids get fed at school. Don't forget KKs delicious HOMEMADE lunches, consisting of a few dribs and drabs of snack foods, not enough to keep a chicken from starving. If the kids ate the school lunches they might, God forbid, get to CHOOSE their meal and eat as much as they want. Can't allow that. They might eat something not organic, or gain an ounce or two.

When I hear that the numbers go down, I say good, more people got hired or dropped out of looking, and that means less competition for those who are still looking(sad I know). I've noticed a sheeple saying that CPS has already been called out and found the claims to be baseless? Do they have access to Kate's confidential case file?
Just so they know, just because CPS doesn't take your children does not mean they found the claims "baseless."
In fact, CPS has to evaluate each claim and determine whether it is unsubstantiated or substantiated. PLENTY of claims are labeled as substantiated, but never see the judge. That just means they found them to be true but decided to deal with them in one of the many other ways available to them besides ripping your children from you, throwing them in foster care, and throwing you in front of a judge.
Just some of the many ways to deal with substantiated claims: Talk to the parent about techniques to use instead of what they did. Implement a "safety plan" where a parent agrees to certain things, such as not to abuse, to take classes, etc. Have an "intervention" type meeting with the whole family, social workers, service providers. Have someone move into the house to help, like a relative, or have someone move out of the house (the abuser) for a cooling off period. Open a full on voluntary case plan which means as long as you do what they ask, like not abuse again, get some therapy, etc., they won't bring it to court. These things can last six months to a year or more. And it's all confidential, no one will ever know that's what was done in response to your referral.
I have no idea what CPS did or didn't do for Kate, but there is certainly no way to say for sure whether they found the allegations made against her baseless or not.
And that's CPS 101 for ya sheeple. Test next week.
My take on all the recent activity is that the floodgates have finally opened now that TLC is not fighting Kate's battles for her. I think Robert Hoffman had the information for the book for quite a long time, but knew that if he released it, TLC would bury him. Once TLC let Kate go, they weren't interested in what he had to say about Kate. They were only concerned about the information about them coming out. I think Hoffman is going to take out all the TLC stuff, add in more about Kate, and re-releae. Now that others have seen that it's possible to speak out without having TLC's lawyers descend upon them, others are opening up. It's about time.
Coupon Cabin has been largely responsible for all Kate's TV appearances in the last year. Nobody is interested in talking to her, but CC lines things up so that she can promote them, and sends her on. Problem is, she does nothing but promote herself, then sticks CC with bills for travel, lodging, meals out, and Steve's outrageous fees. CC finally got sick of paying outrageous amounts of money for her to go on TV and beg for a new show, and gave her the boot. It was obvious that Andy Cohen didn't want her there. Then why was she on? Probably to promote the race on Saturday, which she did not do. No promotion, but being stuck with a huge bill from Kate could have been the straw that broke the camel's back.
We are seeing more and more bad stuff about her coming out, and I think it will increase now that it is knows that TLC isn't going to fight her battles for her. She can't keep everyone quiet on her own.
Hoffman said that Kate tweets the opposite of the truth. All of her fun, fun, fun is just the opposite. Something awful is going to happen, and she's in a panic. We don't know what it is, but we will soon. Hold on, I'm predicting a bumpy ride ahead
I wouldn't be at all surprised if some of Scott's child abuse charities phoned him up and said hey Scotty listen, we love ya and we love your foundations, but we've got a lot of concerns about one of your staff members and what's come out about her and we're not sure this is the best idea anymore for us or your foundation, thoughts?
It really doesn't take much to bring down an entire charity. Associating with a known child abuser like nothing ever happened would certainly be enough.
Interesting theory about something going on behind the scenes right now. This is just me speculating, could Shoka and the kids be w/Jon right now. Maybe Jon is quietly working w/his lawyer(s) to gain more custody of the children in light the child abuse being made public. Maybe, this is the additional information he has been waiting for to convince the judge that he should have the kids more. I don't know how the court system works so I may be off base. But as others have said, in the case of child abuse CA's are moot. Maybe, the people who witnessed the abuse are quietly coming to Jon and telling their story(ies).
Most normal people would be so humiliated by this public firing that they would just go home, be quiet, and try to figure it out. Kate may be in hiding, hopefully getting intense psychological therapy. If her "team" truly cares about her, that is exactly what they would tell her to do. Save your money. Stop paying people who would "die" for you. The whole story of the Gosselins is sickening. How no talent grifters become millionaires is just beyond understanding.

I'm talking about in a libel suit, which is what I thought was being suggested, because we were talking about whether it was true that Kate was a child abuser or not. It was said they'll have to prove it up and court, and I said I disagree, it's Kate who will have to disprove it in court should she want to sue. Which, I doubt she will. Since she knows she will lose.
No one is prosecuting Kate criminally or civilly for child abuse and I doubt they ever will. And even if they did, even if they lost it doesn't mean the child abuse didn't occur. It just means they didn't have enough evidence to nail her.

Okay, that said, I've had half a mind to drive out to the Konpound just to see what's up. Then I thought- Why bother? I know the kids are doing okay with Jon. Shoka is either with Jon or at the breeder. I could really care less what Kate is up to.
I also think Kate has probably been swept away by Laverne and Shirley (those lawyerish people) and/or JMC into seclusion. Either that or she's going to come back in a week or two with a dramatically smoother neckline after a wee bit of lift and tuck. There's no way in h#ll that any network, cable or otherwise, is going to pick up anything she is part of.
Kate has burned her bridges. She is too narcissistic to realize that she threw away everything good that has ever come to her just to get more - more - more.
As someone in the business world, Scott Kluth did the right thing, albeit unorthodox, in publicly sacking Kate. He knew if he didn't lay out the reasons then Kate would be all over the talk show circuit basing him, Coupon Cabin and perhaps it would have far reaching effects into the Kluth Family Foundations which are vastly Philanthropical.
Kate blew it BIG TIME. All for the facade of wanting to be a big star. The Kluth family supports many charities and organizations. They are a quiet but BIG name in society in Chicago. She could have reaped so much in benefits and connections if she would have just stopped being such a greedy self-promoting A$$ and thinking that she was better than herself.
And hey...just for added measure...SHEEPLE! I'm definitely NOT jealous of a has-been reality personality who got publicly fired from a Coupon Blogging gig, and is being flogged in the public square for her diva-ish ways.

I don't remember that she actually recommended putting in a pool. If I recall, she said that they were lucky enough to have a pool that came with the house, but with the pool came the expense, and then she offered tips to cut expenses (typical generic stuff that anyone could figure out).
Regardless, it was a bragging blog...look what we have, much more fun than a community pool.
This was also the blog where she said her kids wore swimsuits for a week without washing them!
Dee3, you really are right on in all your posts. Those that have kept silent up to now will finally have their say. I also think that all the CAs that were signed by everyone will now be ignored. When more people hear of the child and animal abuse, the more they will talk. I'm sure everyone will want to express what they have seen throughout the years. When the book is re-released I think it will hit the best seller list and that all hell will break loose. I would not want to be in Kate's shoes. If she had any sense of shame she should now be planning an escape route before the shit hits the fan, because if she thinks people don't like her now, just wait, she'll be one of the most despised people in the US.

Yes, she did, but she didn't come out and say that parents should invest in building an in-ground pool to save on costs. She tread lightly on that one, the same way she danced around the gas-saving tips. She didn't say that people should go out and buy three cars, but said that she has three cars and should use them accordingly, depending on the price of gas and where you have to go...all great tips for anyone with three luxury cars!
The swimming blog was the worst, followed a close second by the gas blog. Oh, what the heck, they were all stupid. I'm surprised they didn't fire her long before now. But when you write a money saving coupon blog and share a long story about how you "save" money by having your own pool and even say it CUTS costs of having to pay for the community pool, you're pretty much saying you should do this too.
I read several financial blogs and most people don't write so literally--I did this, now you should do it too! But it's implied that the information they are giving you is a good path.

I'm trying to search through the bits and pieces I shoved back into that closet in the back of my brain........and at my age, my memory is not what it used to be....but I seem to remember something written by R. Hoffman that had something to do with:
1. He had tons of info he'd not put into the book.
2. There was some info in particular that was a biggie but that he'd promised Jon he would not reveal....but...
3. That this info would be coming out soon anyway....and IIRC it may have been related to the school the children go to, around the time of the expulsion....and related to the summer of that particular year.
4. And that this info would be coming out as official...somehow....not journals or anything like that....but actual public official confirmation.
Is this familiar to anyone? Do I have this wrong and/or mixed-up? It has just stuck in my memory....something I just shoved back there along with all sorts of other bits and pieces of things I read.

Off the top of my head, I can't remember ever hearing of someone who has their children in private school, lives in a very expensive house in a great neighborhood with an in-ground pool, has 3 vehicles, one of which is a sports car, goes to NYC to get expensive hair extensions....and is just one step away from the possibility of having to go on "welfare". There are a WHOLE lot of cost-saving measures available at that point....before welfare would even come into the picture.
Those sorts of comments are just beyond ridiculous.....almost too ridiculous for words. And the way they just discount what a nurse's salary would be.....they clearly have no idea what nurses can make.
Yes....Kate needs to take care of 8 children....but private school is NOT a necessity....it's a LUXURY. So are her expensive house, her in-ground pool, her multiple vehicles, her private staff at the house. You are not one step away from welfare just because you may not be able to afford to maintain your luxurious lifestyle. Just ridiculous.

Regarding the employment statistics.....and this means absolutely nothing, statistics-wise.......but I am starting to see "hiring" and "help wanted" signs here and there in store windows. These are minimum wage type jobs....but I've not seen ANY signs like this for several years now. I just started to notice these recently. There's not a glut of them certainly.....but here and there, I'm starting to notice them.

My theory about Robert's statement about the kids and school and their "interaction or lack of"...I have a thought that the 2 are still acting out and are sequestered from the class. Probably Kate is paying for a fulltime monitor.
Also, after seeing his picture posted last spring, he is VERY thin which could be due to ADHD medication. Not saying that is an accurate diagnosis. Just my opinion on what else is coming about out about the kids. Likely some very harsh punishment, behavior modification over the summer, Kate style.

I don't know the PA Welfare rules are, question, would you even qualify if you had your kids in private school? Shouldn't they make you put your kids in public school and take other cost saving measures before living off people like me?

He just needs cash right now and will probably go back to school for his phd, but he's been able to get interviews at several restaurants, Sprint, the library, childcare. They are out there, they just aren't paying much. I admire him for being willing to do what it takes to get back on his feet even a job he might have thought "beneath him" before. I think the shift from, Oh I wouldn't be caught dead doing that, to, whatever it takes, is actually a good thing. And that's one reason why Kate's mediocre comment really bugged. F-U Kate. The mediocre is how this country is going to get back on its feet. The mediocre puts food on the table and clothes on the kids' backs. Suck it.
Kate doesn't get it..,,there's much more to life than saving money. Wow, you saved the price of joining the community pool for the summer but look at all that your kids missed out on. One thing I've observed is that they seem to completely discount and erase any info that contradicts their beliefs.....like this insistence on tenaciously clinging to their accusations of Jon running out on cheating............and completely discounting the information that Kate had given him his walking papers some time before that (boy, I wish R. Hoffman had been able to include that "contract" Kate made Jon sign back then....in his book. Wonder if Jon even saved it.)

That whole issue with Kate/CC/her pool. I don't even think it matters how people interpret what she was saying when she blogged. I think the more important issue is that she was blogging about her luxuries when the audience contains so many families who would love to have their own in-ground pool but could never afford it.
She was just reinforcing the concept that she "did not fit".....by almost bragging about a luxury she should have clearly known most of her audience could not afford....or relate to. I'm sure many of the families could not only NOT afford an in-ground pool.....but couldn't even afford to join a community pool either. It was sort of an arrogant "let them eat cake" type of comment.

I have a 3 month grandbaby that I haven't had the chance to see (live too far away). Daughter sent me a video of the baby being absolutely precious (babbling, sneezed once, lol) and each time I watch it tears prick my eyes.

Tell your friend to try the school systems...they usually only want a masters in Psychology. A PHD is great but he will still have to do an internship which pays nothing...My husband is one but he also just took his BCBA exam (Board certified behavior Analyst)3 weeks ago...we're still waiting for results and then he will have a specialty in that field...studied for a year and was sooo difficult...there are only 8000 in the world...I'm going broke paying for all his education....best of luck to him....Also he can try firms that place only professionals...

Absolutely! And with Kate...it's even worse.....because what she considers "mediocre" is an RN's salary. There are thousands of moms who I'm sure would love to be able to make what an RN can make. And that comment she made some time ago about being willing to work at McDonald's was just beyond ridiculous....when the reality was that she could work as an RN.

I believe this information will come out soon after this book is published by the people who should be dealing with the situation. This is one part of the story that I can’t put into words, because I gave my word that I wouldn’t.

She was careful about her words and stopped short of actually saying to install a pool. She's good at playing word games. It was nothing more than a bragging post. She's been doing this with her pool and her leather sofa for quite some time. The same goes with the cars. I think that she was grasping for something to write about, and since this upscale lifestyle is what she knows, she couldn't blog about things in the life of a mediocre person. She couldn't identify with them. Even if she could, it wouldn't sound sincere -- all fake -- and readers knew it and the suits knew it. There was no common ground in her posts. She was still trying to figure out whether to play the role of the successful celebrity or the struggling single mom.

Personally I think it is to do with the kids and how they interact with others and how they treat each other. I am sure Kate spend little time with them as individuals, teaching them social skills, etc. And now they are probably letting their counselors know what happens behind closed doors.
If the children want to share their stories with the public when they get older, that is their right. As for now I hope Jon and the school are protecting the kids. I remember kate said she could not be bothered breaking up fights between the tubs....I image a Lord of the Flies scenario, with quite the pecking order. Poor boys.

Thank you for posting my exact thoughts. Even before the CC Firing letter, I had a feeling Kate was close to or was having a nervous breakdown. And now after this latest news of her getting fired from CC including what the CEO wrote about her and the endless onslaught of negative comments, articles, tweets, blogs etc about how much Kate is hated, I truly believe Kate has been admitted to some kind of facility.

Studying it....I'm thinking I'd assumed that "by the people who should be dealing with the situation" implied someone in some sort of official capacity.
I mean....who would be "the people who should be dealing..."? It wouldn't be Jon and/or Kate as they would not be expected to voluntarily reveal these (possibly) potentially explosive details. That would leave either the school....or some sort of government entity? If it was a therapist, doctor, etc....they would be bound by privacy laws.
I'm trying to analyze it to try to figure out who/what this could be.
Another thing that's intriguing me is R. Hoffman mentioning that his book is currently being edited. I remember reading on his blog back during the summer where he was explaining his various options and he seemed to not be all that keen on having it professionally edited and cleaned-up and was worried that too much would then have to be edited-out/removed due to legal worries.
So....I'm wondering if LaVerne and Shirley finally just got on his last nerve....and he's decided to have the book professionally edited, along with having any seriously litigious items edited-out....so that he can make the book available again.
I didn't get to read the book and could only go by the excerpts posted here and by what Mr. Hoffman wrote on his blog....and my impression had been that he'd said that while the book only contained about 10% of the material he'd collected.....that THAT 10% was critical to him he didn't want to see any of that 10% heavily edited.
Believe me, I'm not at all criticizing him....I just wish I knew what was going on behind the scenes.....because I think that if it was ME, I'd be wanting to get my book back out there ASAP....and I might even, at this point, agree to allow professional editors (and legal counsel) to edit-out anything that LaVerne and Shirley could use to hold up the re-release and get the book back out there.
Ya know...just finally say ok already, go ahead and take that stuff out so I can get the book back out there. I think L&S would have definitely gotten on MY last nerve by now. I'm just not sure that's what's going on and furthermore, don't even know exactly what items would need to be edited out and how critical they are. When I read Robert's experience with the dogs after Kate LEFT THEM ROAM THE COUNTRY ROAD as she sped away, I was sick.
My 2 larger dogs got out of our backyard fence a couple times when we first moved here and I FLIPPED. How far is the nearest busy road? Which way did they go?
I call THE POLICE out of desperation and instead of citing me for shear stupidity, they said that it's a slow night so they'll keep an eye open and cruise the neighborhood a couple time. And they found them!

Thanks, but my kids would probably disagree! Seriously, though, the only reason I looked was because of so much concern for the dog. I never look to see who is there, if Kate is home, or whatever. Quite honestly, I don't care. It's none of my business where she goes or who she goes with or who is visiting her. When I drove by after the Halloween storm last year (Kate had tweeted about losing all of her trees) I took a glance to see the extent of the damage. The trees were intact, which was good news.
Kate's County - I don't think you were out of line to drive by the million dollar chicken coop either. Kate blathered on and on about Shoka up until he ate something dead (or deadly) and then she more or less left it at that. She made it a concern. It's not stalking when you drive by someone's house to see if there's a dog running around the yard.
I post this little story in honor of LoveMyGrandsons and other posters who share personal stories that make me smile:
When younger, my son would get carsick. So I allowed him to sit in the middle of the back seat, so he could see out the front window. Car sickness problem solved. One warm summer's early evening, I had picked him up from his summer day program and we were stopped at a light. There was a woman on the curb waiting to walk across the crosswalk when the light changed, and at first I thought she was calling to a teenage boy who was about ten feet away. Then I heard her yell, "put your seat belt on!" I say to my son, "Is she talking to me?" as we both look over in puzzlement. I tug on my shoulder strap and she shouts out again, "put your seat belt on!" and I see she's pointing to my son.
I turned to look back at him and he's wearing his seat belt, but he's wearing a top that matches the color, so I guess from a distance she couldn't tell. My son scowled and said, "Mommy she thinks you only care about yourself." I don't know why, but the whole thing gave me a fit of the giggles. I started laughing, my son started laughing, and then the light changed and off we went. Now, we occasionally will call out to each other "put your seatbelt on!"
(I sometimes wonder if at least occasionally, one of the anonymous posters that demand we "stay on topic!" isn't Kate, as we all know that she's completely uninterested in anything other than herself.)

And look how that turned out. If you were driving over from another county, or even from the other side of the same county, just to take a look in KK's yard, then I'd say you were being creepy. Since you regularly travel that road, I don't find anything at all creepy about looking in her yard to see if Shoka's there. I look in yards I pass all the time. I drive by this one house on my way to the library, at least once a week. The people who live there have 2 Bernese Mountain dogs, and I look for them in the yard every time. They are so beautiful. It just lifts my spirits to see them running around the yard and playing with each other.
Not just the dog, what about all the chickens she says she has. Who is caring for them while she is off trying to sell herself to anyone that loves a trainwreck?

I have thought for quite a while now that she might not have been in a long term contract with RnR to do the marathons and they may have decided not to fund her for that full one so she took off her list of ones to run. She conned CC into supporting her runs but they may have only agreed to a couple shorter ones.
I also think that rather than letting her contract run out and paying her to run in LA the end of the month (and perhaps get some sort of good severance or bonus at the end of the contract) they decided to fire her to save money. I think she gave them ridiculous demands for the races also. Coupon cabin is about saving money, not paying their employees for frills.
If she does show up at that next marathon, I will be surprised if she has a CC shirt on.

Personally, I hope he doesn't address the school situation. I didn't have a problem with his printing Junior's refund letter, but to discuss the kids' behavior at school, and what happened with personnel involved, would be crossing the line. I don't see how bringing the kids' social/behavior issues into this is going to do anything to establish credibility to the book. It was a mandatory withdrawal, and really, to get into the issues that forced that withdrawal is invading the kids privacy at the one place where they feel safe and protected.

Yes Sophie, farts are funny! When my son was 10 or so we were in a store at the check-out counter and I felt the "urge". Well, I decided to cough to cover it up. All the cough did was force it out louder. My son was mortified (as in we can never shop here again) and I was bent over crying because I was laughing so hard! Maybe it's because I'm from a family with 7 kids, but bodily functions are funny!

Admin. thank you for saying something. I wanted to say something my self but with the stuff I've shared about myself I didn't want to seem weak and dysfunctional in my thinking.
I know that when you feel no one likes you, warranted or not, depression can become your best friend. One of Kate's fears is that she wasn't a good mother, we all see the obvious. Now not only does she know she is not one, she knows the world knows she isn't one.
I have shared earlier here that my mom tried to take her life four times as I was growing up. Every time I have to listen to her story about why, she says, "I knew I wasn't a good mother to you kids but I couldn't stand the thought of living with out you. The only other thing was to kill myself. That way you could have a better life and I wouldn't have to live with the pain of living without you.

We did have a nasty storm, no question about it. We were unprepared for it. It was more like a January storm. We never see this in October. The snow was heavy and wet, not just a few flurries. However, because it was so wet and the temps climbed, it melted in no time. When she tweeted that she was snowed in and the roads were closed, I was really surprised. She has an SUV. The roads were open. I know. I was going for pizza that night. The only thing I could figure out was that she meant she was snowed in because her driveway hadn't been plowed, but the main roads were open.
We don't know for sure in RnR sponsors Kate's marathon runs. Kate was the one who told one of the women at BlogHer that they sponsored her, and we know how Kate always tells the truth.

just an FYI, my neighbors cows come home around 5:30, they like to get in the barn early. We had a Blessing of the Animals at church a few weeks back, and they brought two of their cows to be blessed. They figure those two can go back and share the blessing with all the other cows.

Ladies (and gents) I love the personal stories, here, too. I love the humble bragging, too, because you guys, or a loved of yours, or some aspect of your life is ROCKING at the moment. I also like that someone can post about a loss, or some bad news and we all give them some support.
I feel a sense of community has been established here and there is something for everyone. We have said enough times, scroll if you aren't interested in the post. I admit, I don't find farts funny (I'm stuffy that way) but I certainly would not dare say that we stop sharing personal stories. In fact, I read those posts anyway too see another's perspective and I may have even changed mine a little (DONT tell my family- I have a stuffy reputation to maintain).
So, thank you all for giving me a fun place to come home to after long days at work engaged in war (sounds violent- hunh? LOL). I appreciate you all!

Those that come here w/hateful comments are inviting the smack-down they get! If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen!

They were in Kindergarten at the time, and Kate played her usual games with words. She said that they weren't expelled, which was true because that term isn't used. She had her "out." In her mind, and as far as the public was concerned, she wasn't lying. It was a matter of semantics. She could spin it however she wanted, but the fact is that she had no choice but to take them out of school. When questioned about it, she would say that it was a mutual decision, which wasn't true (Robert's inclusion of Junior's refund invoice proved it).

Has anyone ever really looked at that pic of Kate at CC, on her first day there. That is the weirdest pic of Kate I've ever seen. She almost looks like she is wearing a mask that you wear at Halloween. Is it the lighting or did Kate have a lot of botox done right before that photo session at CC.
Also: that pic at CC was almost a year ago, and look at a recent pic of her, man has she changed.
I skip over the off topic because I do find it boring. But I also don't think the so called "regular" posters need to be rude about it.

Marie, not all posters respond rudely. But when people keep coming here bitching how they don't like the way things are, it's sometimes hard not to respond in a less than polite manner.

I don't see anything wrong with talking about things off topic here. This has always been a good place to come to hear about other things besides just Kate and her crew. I have gotten many good recipes and I love some of the funny stories that are shared. If people aren't interested they can scroll on by till they find something that interests them.
There's another way to look at Kate's "relatability". I believe Kate CAN identify with the people she believes to be low-class and mediocre, and it scares the hell out of her.
She was not always a millionaire.She might be deathly afraid that if she doesn't keep up the facade of being spoiled and rich, people will see the pathetic ORDINARY loser that she really is inside.
So she relates to fans and others in a completely inauthentic way.

I agree, but there are ways to politely express concerns about the focus of the blog. For example, Sophie could have said, "While I know that there are some who like OT posts, I find such posts sometimes take away from the point of this blog, which is to discuss Kate Gosselin. Who knew? Cuz Kate didnt tell me that in her blog. So now I have a new car payment every month, plus insurance on the new car- but guess what? I am saving $$ when I run errands in my new car! Oh no wait, I'm not, because like Kate's car, my sports car engine sucks gas- did I mention it takes Premium? So now I fill up two tanks and the cost is the same for both!! And I have a car payment!! Plus higher insurance!! Is Kate catching on yet to why she was fired?
(BTW, true story, I did buy a car- but not to save money on gas- I'm not a dumbass bwahahaha)

Sometimes when we plead privacy it's more about not getting involved, but a child in physical or mental distress needs an advocate. Maybe the school is involved and Robert should not say anything, or maybe the school is looking the other way rather than get sued by Kate. All I know is that those kids need help, but I understand your point. It's a shame it is taking someone from outside the family to speak out.

I have been to blogs that changed, or blossomed into something other than what it was when I started. I just left. I don't feel comfortable telling folks that their posts are not welcome. Now if their posts were rude, off-color or negatively provocative I may make a comment. But I am guessing that the lovely grandmother stories and the fart talk got on your nerves.
Why stay?
Me personally, I have left and come back several times. I didn't like the way things were going so I took a break. Actually, most of the time I've left is when posters get rude and snarky. I just don't have time in my life or energy to make a fuss. I protect myself by walking away.

EXACTLY.
You all might not have noticed, but I'm not exactly a posting fiend & I don't usually (ok, never) have anything clever or all that interesting, even though I'm a local (never have run into Kate & don't want to), to add to the conversation. So, when I am able to get on here and read, I usually have quite a few comments to go thru.
If I am especially short on time, I speed read or scroll over the OT ones. Not a big deal. Why does this keeps being brought up - I have a hard time understanding?
If you've been on the internet for any length of time, you know this is par for the course - things do go off topic on message boards & blogs. The administrators/moderators set the tone for what they want to happen on the message board/blog.
No one is forcing anyone to read anything, there is no quiz/test on the OT posts, & anyone who writes OT posts usually writes on topic posts as well. It's not like the people who post OT don't contribute when it's time for more serious stuff going on.

It does take a lot to get fired, first you get warnings, then more warnings, then a sit down talk, in Kates case, a phone call, then if nothing happens fired. I wonder if Kate will spin and say she quit or got laid-off. That is why the CC CEO published the letter publicly, so Kate can't spin, even though her sheeple/fans and lackeys are.
