Dwindle I have a ton of chocolate bars in the frig. So good to see you coming around a bit. I am just laughing at you all.
One thing is certain for me, about time that Kate got caught. Whether someone proves it wasn't her writing, like that Big Bad Corporation or not, it is too late for her to revive her Celebrity Status in the world of smoke & mirrors. That is one part of all of this that is positive.
What haunts me and I mean it haunts me is Collin. From the footage on you tube, he was a cute lively little guy who tried so hard when he was a toddler to get his Mommie's attention. She picks him up by the hair? I am crying over that. Honestly I cannot deal with how she describes the abuse of that poor child. He gazes now, does not smile in photos, looks away from the camera, his eyes are looking in another direction. Has she destroyed him and his very soul with all of those beatings? He looks like he has no spirit left in him. '
If only Jon had the power behind him that Kate had behind her with TLC and mega attys perhaps the past couple of years could have been easier for Collin. I fear for him. Something tells me he is not ok because he does have to leave his dad's house and go to her house. A House of Horrors.
Would like to see each child completely X rayed for broken bones, etc. Who picks a toddler up by their hair and gets to order Kobe Beef and eat at classy NY restaurants? That miserable WITCH.
I didn't buy the book in time. Did Robert cover why there are so few "inflamtory" pictures of Kate. I read someone posted that the paps saw her grab Colins face hard and slap him for waving at the paps. I am assuming they take photos every couple of seconds so they could almost show the whole thing in video. Did Robert ever say why the tabloids/radar online show her at target, gas, target?
Is "sheesh" a French word? I've heard it used but mostly as an exclamation ( as in, oh sheesh! I can't believe you said that). Well, I learned something new tonight and am so glad it was all good
Since Kate's desired requirement is to be on teevee, I will assume that that is the only emplyment she will accept. She LOVES being "interviewed", if that's what you call robotically answering the same questions over and over for 3 years. A bare minimum for employment is some sort of fame ho opportunity,even better if it's far, far away from the kids.
That being said, we haven't seen her in "many, many" venues for at least a year. If she's doing all this publicity work how come no one's seen any of it?
I HATE the expression it is what it is. What does that even mean? Sounds like one big cop out to me.
----------------
That expression doesn't bother me nearly as much as "just sayin'"
"And, finally, my logical mind cannot accept Robert's baseless conclusions, interpretations and opinions which are freely offered up throughout the book, always through an anti-Kate filter. I have to consider that (as he himself admits) this is a person who is obsessed with bring about the downfall of someone else that is not even in his family. His fast and loose assumptions, presentation of theories as facts and lack of expert analysis all hurt his credibility."
--------------
I don't consider the book not to be credible because I'm not putting that much weight in his comments. I can disregard his theories, his "baseless conclusions" because what I have read in Kate's own words trumps anything that he may write in any attempt to bring Kate down. She does that all on her own and I can very easily separate his analyses from what Kate herself has written. Her behavior as recorded through her own written words speaks for itself.
I know! Milo is Kate's mother!!! That would explain the defensiveness, the access to some personal information, but not getting the details right, Lights Out man is the husband, the availability to post all hours of the day, but mostly in the evenings.

I agree with Sleepless. I don't care so much about the commentary. And it really wasn't all that "baseless", most of it just introduced the passages. With the exception of maybe the fertility issue, which I don't know nearly enough about to say for sure what that's about, he hasn't said much that isn't pretty much true. I don't care what anyone's opinion is on Kate's own words. I can read them and decide for myself. If he were giving his opinion based on Kate's own words without actually showing them to us, that would be another matter.
Sorry, sorry, sorry I'm the one who started the " it is what it is " with my comment this morning! But then everyone jumped on it with their comments, and it was like it grew legs! People who comment here are just hilarious ! I was having my hair done and kept myself entertained reading comments on my phone!
Laurie I'll comment on why I don't want Kate associated , no matter how small, with Cancer Awareness tomorrow but I'm really tired tonight!

What does the fact that many other people could buy these children costumes have to do with a mother who spends on herself like crazy claiming she cannot afford costumes? It's irrelevant to the fact that Kate spends on herself and shafts the kids. Maybe when Jon hears how cheap she is being he will. Maybe he has his own plans for Halloween. What I do know is I don't see him spending like Kate.
Why do some of us love well-done meat, as much as we do? (Sorry about the posting delay.)
As a kid, I used to ask for my filet mignon 'beef jerky style'... at my Dad's favorite French eatery in L.A. His continued grimace, made me switch to med-well in my 30's.
I'm sure Kate has already sent out her letter to MagicMakers costume supply house asking them “… if there is a way my children could be a help in marketing your costumes..."
I think a great deal of our disdain for her comes from our horror at what is happening to the very DNA of the human species - rejoicing and celebrating mentally ill monsters who beat their own babies and then show their cleavage and cootchies for a payday on TeeVee.
I dont know what else to do about it. Legislation went virturally nowhere. Attempts to make her viciousness and evil known are being swept under the rug. The 150 of us picketing her house will get nowhere. So we snark. Or are we just to roll over and play dead and let it continue without comment other than 'tsk tsk'?
The more enraged we become the nastier we get. I might give ya that one. I think it is part of horror and frustration. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I don't see where going to a great school and living in a beautiful home as 'shafting' the kids.
Are you saying that Kate should buy expensive Halloween costumes but, you don't see Jon spending money like she does? If Jon has 50/50 custody like you claim shouldn't he contribute?
I don't get it. Kate stated that the kids have buckets of dress up clothes already. If the kids are happy wearing them why do either parent need to buy them new costumes if they are not needed.
Realitytvkids.com (Administrator) said... 109 Ex nurse I'm trying to understand. What does tabloid tactics have to do with this info? The fact is, the info is now out there. The ethics, who's, how's and whys are a separate issue that's already been disscused at length and will continue to be discussed. You seem to be confusing the two, which in my opinion is distracting from Kate's terrible behavior.
Realitytvkids.com (Administrator) said... 107 Ex nurse, what do you think of Kate's own words?? ---------------- I am really only giving my opinion about why it is not being picked up in the mainstream media. 1) I think that to the average person that doesn't follow the story closely, he sounds deranged. What interviewer is going to plow through that voluminous book, or even dedicate a staffer to read it--let alone read an even less readable book about Jon to complete the picture? They are not the Royal Family, for God's sake, and 2) I think that many in the public eye will be sympathetic to Kate because I'm sure that all celebrities worry about the same thing happening to them. Obviously, Robert can write anything he wants.
Other posters have said, and I agree, that it would have been more readable, if Robert had just published Kate's words and limited his comment to simply provide some context and a timeline.
As far as the tabloid tactics--I don't think that just because someone happens to work as an entertainer, that anything goes. And, obviously, just because these types of tactics are the norm, doesn't mean that, for many, they cross a line. For example, IMO, Sandra Bullock did not deserve to have her private marital problems splashed all over the headlines. I don't feel entitled to that information about a very classy, authentic woman who clearly values her privacy and lives up to her image in every way just because she works as an actress. When someone projects a fake public image and hoodwinks the public, as Kate does, I agree that she is fair game--I wouldn't be on this blog if I didn't. She (and Jon) opened up their lives to the public and now they are feeling the consequences.I see it as the same situation as public officials who espouse family values and morality and are then caught stalking underage pages, seducing interns and having anonymous sex with men in airport bathrooms.
Out of curiosity, Admin--why is Jon still up on the top of the blog if you feel so strongly that he has reformed his ways? Around a year ago, you and I were talking about that-as a matter of fact, I suggested taking him off because he had stayed out of the public eye for so long. And then, as I recall, there was some random story or interview within a day or two. I don't understand some of your criticism of posters that haven't changed their opinion of Jon. The criticism of him is relevant because his image and name are at the top of the blog.
Dwindle.......141 I have to comment on what you said . First of all someone said this morning ( don't remember who ) that these blogs are what keep Kate relevant . I disagree ! The Admin.'s 15 Minutes, GWOP, and others are what brought her down. That's why TLC tried to stop the anti-Kate blogs. As a matter of fact if it wasn't for the blogs she would still have her show and clobbering the kids so they would smile for the cameras.
That's why her die hard fans want everyone to just go away. They figure that if the negative stuff goes away maybe she can make a come back!
One more thing, did any one else notice when Andy C. Asked how the kids were doing she said that the kids film or make movies and they even edit them, he then caught her off! She is going to do everything to have those kids in front of a camera! Lindsey and Dina Lohan move over!
Sarah @mylilabbster @dowd24 @Kateplusmy8 please know that these bullies DO NOT represent all Americans. I apologize for their rudeness & ignorance ;) ____________
1. No one bullying Kate. 2. I think people around the world don't like Kate why? Insert reason. -She beats her kids/She beats her dogs/She abused and de-balled her husband/She use her kids to make $$$. She a shameless fame-whore/I bet she a mistress.
3. You fans are to blind to see the real Kate-(as we see her) As I stated above. -)
One more thing, did any one else notice when Andy C. Asked how the kids were doing she said that the kids film or make movies and they even edit them, he then caught her off
.................
Anonymous, Kate said the kids filming and making movies in the Access Hollywood interview. She did not say that in response to Andy's question.
I'm saying Kate should stop skimping on the kids while spending on herself. If you think private school and a mansion means they are not getting shafted, then we have tremendously different values.
Paren said... 27 ''....As it stands now RH's book will never be picked up by the mainstream and will never have a publisher. There is something terribly off about him.'' ~~~~~~ You are SO right. Robert's book is just terrible. He shouldn't have been aloud to sell it...especially for the price of $8.88!!! I also agree that there IS something terribly ''off'' about Robert. I mean, good grief, just look at what he has done! He has actually used KK's own words about beating her toddlers!! It is amazing that everyone can't see how ''off'' it is to expose KK's abuse of her children, and dogs! Thank you Paren, for making so much sense!!
Realitytvkids.com (Administrator) said... 29 I'm saying Kate should stop skimping on the kids while spending on herself. If you think private school and a mansion means they are not getting shafted, then we have tremendously different values. .....................
I guess we do. I value a good education for kids rather than a fabulous Halloween costume. Jon must agree as he is paying for half of their private school according to the 50/50 custody that you claim.
Oh, Ms Butterfly, I'm glad you posted because I wanted to tell you that my grandson called us last week (he really is bored recuperating from knee surgery) and we talked about what he'd like to get in a box. You'd never guess - pancake mix and syrup. Since the guys don't have cars the're doing most of their shopping in the local markets and that isn't an arabian staple. So he'll be getting an APO box soon.
Every night. You would think the zealots would get bored here but they can't stay away.
Jon isn't on TV complaining about the price of raising kids. Jon isn't telling the world what his plans are so nobody is commenting about what Jon is or is not buying. Kate tells everything about anything because she only wants attention and since the book came out, she's proven to have no shame as long as it gets her child-abusing mug on TV.
Also, why can Jon date and have relationships? Doesn't he also have 8 kids?
For example, IMO, Sandra Bullock did not deserve to have her private marital problems splashed all over the headlines. I don't feel entitled to that information about a very classy, authentic woman who clearly values her privacy and lives up to her image in every way just because she works as an actress. When someone projects a fake public image and hoodwinks the public, as Kate does, I agree that she is fair game--I wouldn't be on this blog if I didn't.
*******************
But if someone in the media didn't go digging and find out the extent to which Kate hoodwinked the public, we might never know. Certainly we suspected that what went on behind closed doors was worse than what we saw on film, but we didn't know to what extent. What if the classy, authentic actress such as Sandra really wasn't all that she projected herself to be? What if she really was a wolf in sheep's clothing with skeletons in her closet? The media uses the resources that it has, and if they land on something that indeed exposes the sins of celebrities, then the result is a book or tabloid story that shows they are not virtuous people that they claim to be. Should some celebrities be off-limits while others are fair game? Who decides which is which? Is there an unwritten, agreed-upon list of which ones get raked over, and which ones are hands off?
I think that any celebrity who puts himself/herself out there expects the media to keep a critical eye on them. Are boundaries crossed when private aspects of their lives are exposed? Yes, but when you're a public figure, you can't have it both ways. Someone is always going to be watching, just waiting to pounce on you for that breaking story. Keeping your nose clean just might be one way of keeping the pack hounds off your back, but even then there will always be someone determined to uncover the dirt that will bring you down.
All is not fair in the entertainment world, and I'm temped to say that "it is what it is," but, well...
Jon isn't on TV complaining about the price of raising kids.
Jon was in Star magazine complaining he could not pay his child support and afford to pay his rent.
As far as dating goes, Jon can date anyone he wants and does. I think it is always harder for a mother with kids than it is a father with kids to date.
I guess we do. I value a good education for kids rather than a fabulous Halloween costume.
***************
Nobody is saying that a good education isn't important, or that a Halloween costume is necessary for happiness. The criticism of Kate not buying a costume for her kids is because she spends money on herself, but when it comes to taking the kids to movies, enrolling them in gym classes, or even buying them 3D glasses, she complains about the expense of it all. She doesn't bat an eye taking a limo to New York to have her hair done, or paying for a tanning club membership, or having dinner out at expensive restaurants, but when it comes to the kids, she whines about the cost.
I forgot about that one interview months ago. Paren is right. Jon should pay for costumes as well ad the part of the private schools that isn't covered. Kate got it partiality paid for so she shouldn't have to pay anything.
Jon should also pay Kate's mortgage and refilling her gift cards as needed. He really doesn't know how to help her.
Penny said... 34 Whether Robert is "off " or not does not negate Kate's own words. .................
I agree Penny it doesn't. He shot himself in the foot by the way he got the info and his speculating. He doesn't care about the kids. Robert is obsessed with Kate and that is what the mainstream press see. That book was one hot mess.
Jon should also pay Kate's mortgage and refilling her gift cards as needed. He really doesn't know how to help her
LOL he complained about and was close to going to jail (his words) for not being able to pay child support or rent. I have a feeling he wishes he had that type of money to pay her mortgage.
Paren said... 40 ''........ He shot himself in the foot by the way he got the info and his speculating. He doesn't care about the kids. Robert is obsessed with Kate and that is what the mainstream press see. That book was one hot mess.'' ~~~~~~~~ Paren, once again, you are so right! Can you imagine Robert going through KK's trash? Who does he think he is...some sort of detective or FBI agent? It's as obvious as the nose on your face that Robert is obsessed with KK and her private journal. Using her own words when she is dealing with potty training her toddlers, and her emails about getting free things. What business is it of his anyway? Robert has some nerve calling KK's journal and emails a book!! It IS some hot mess...you're right about that!
I agree with Ex Nurse. What's the point of even offering up a different perspective on Jon if only to be insulted as if our values must be really, really bad for not loving Jon.
If the Admin of the blog is this condescending about different viewpoints of Jon, don't invite us to comment on him at all. Make this a Kate-only thread. The pandering to this oaf of a man is tiresome. I don't post any longer about the 'poor guy' because I'm insulted for my reading comprehension, faulty logic and whatever else.
Sorry, this just got to me tonite. Again, if you don't want to hear about opinions on Jon, take him off the blog and make a rule that it's a Kate-only blog.
Good grief! All this back and forth about this and that. The woman beat her kids! It's child abuse! Someone needs to wake up and see what's happening to them! Why does the rest matter?
I think if RH's book wasn't pulled so fast, the mainstream media would have picked up on it. No one wants to discuss it because Kart's lawyers were able to have it removed within a couple days. Whatever one may think of the book, it was selling. So the author was taking her garbage. Many people make a living off of other people's garbage.
He shot himself in the foot by the way he got the info and his speculating.
**************
Bu the way he got the info? He got it from the trash that she threw away. Would his book have been more credible if he asked her politely for her journals and e-mails? Kate's own foot is the one with the bullet holes in it.
If the book was one hot mess it was because Kate herself is one hot mess, as revealed through the child and animal abuse. Those acts are unconscionable, and regardless of how he got the information, the fact remains that the subject of his book laid it all out in the open, never believing that any of this would be revealed. It was, and now she has to live with the consequences.
Kate is trying to appeal to the struggling mother out there, she has to whine about a $20 costume because whining about the expense in chasing fame is not winning over fans.
Who's enabling Kate here? I am offended you would think any one of us would defend the bitch.
Who's enabling Jon here may be the better question.
Listen, I don't mean to sound snarky but just because I don't preface my posts with KATE BEATS HER CHILDREN and then go on to complain about Jon, does NOT mean I don't KNOW that yes, KATE BEATS HER CHILDREN. Sheesh (as someone above said - LOL)
What the hell does having fun have to do with anything!?! Does Kate think that that phrase makes her look like a better mother? "come join our fun" "more mom power for fun ahead" a "dating show would be fun" she sounds so freakin' juvenile and stupid!
Wowser said... 53 What the hell does having fun have to do with anything!?! Does Kate think that that phrase makes her look like a better mother? And given her stonewalling responses to the controversies swirling all around (and about) her, she sounds -- to my ears, anyway-- absolutely sociopathic.
That's where my own concerns come in. I don't invest any emotions in Kate herself, but I'm chilled to the marrow by her frosty disregard for anyone who "doesn't know how to help" her, her own children, included.
Amazon sent me a review request for RH's book this morning. I folled the link and it appeared the book was back. But when I attempted to go to the book directly, it was an error page. Still kind of funny to get the review request.

Holidays overseas and away from home are made easier with when families send care packages (especially if there are some cookies, LOL) and if you send some stuff for him to share, like candy or nuts or coffee, or anything, that makes it even better! I hope your family's holiday season is a blessed one and that your SIL remains safe! :)
Lynn W, I meant grandson,not SIL- my goodness!! Sorry, I have a lot friends with family forward deployed. Beef jerkey is always appreciated as well. Sometimes the stores are closed and we get hungry. :)
Dreams: I couldn't get the picture to load but maybe she just has her two sports bras and layers on... just a guess as I haven't seen the pic...on the other hand, with her wizened body, maybe the original good bra is too heavy for her frame and was sinking, and she needed to adjust it!
Formerly duped ~ Sorry the picture won't load for you. Maybe you could go to the website itself (running.competitor.com), and then do a search for the Rock n Roll New York 10K photos?
It's possible they're squished and lifted by her support bras, but I don't think so. Her "landscape" looks a lot different, lol. I tend to think it's a breast reduction & lift, especially thinking back to the last time she wore that (uber-tight) Coupon Cabin T-shirt, but I'm curious to hear what everyone else thinks, after they see yesterday's picture.

Maybe just her running attire but those boulders might have worn through her shriveled skin and she needed a pick-me-up!I think she looked like she had the good bra on the Andy Show though? Hmm.

She looks MUCH smaller and it's a big improvement...maybe that's why she can't afford Halloween costumes...plastic surgery is really cutting into her budget.
Realitytvkids.com (Administrator) said... 30 I'm saying Kate should stop skimping on the kids while spending on herself. If you think private school and a mansion means they are not getting shafted, then we have tremendously different values. ****** Let me see if I can add something here. It's not about a 6000 square foot house because a kid doesn't care if he lives in a mansion, and kids get great education and school experience in public school. The mansion and prestigious school could be replaced with a nice 5 br/3-4 bath house in the burbs (for a fraction of the price) and the yellow bus to their designated public school, so I think that's a wash. Those things do not make for a happy childhood. That is how an adult thinks and views the world, not a child. No way. What Kate ROBS the kids of are ENRICHING experiences where REAL. LASTING memories are made. Girl Scout, Cub Scouts, gymnastics, soccer, football, yes trick or treating too. All of these enriching experiences that really matter to kids, Kate simply denies them. Period. Denial. Nyet. No soup for you! What enriches Kate? Trips, and lots of them. A birthday in Vegas? Sure! A shoe collection that rivals Imelda Marcos? Yes! Monthy trips to NYC and Nobu! Nobu? Why not! Eternally tanned, mani/pedied, bleached and whitened? Of course, darling! Spending her days running and practicing yoga? Oh yes, and brag about it on Twitter because, you know, that's what busy mommies do. Just ask them as they run out of their house, harried and already behind at 7am, or ask them when they return home exhausted at 6pm while they're making dinner without a personal chef! Kate denies herself very little and bitches about spending money on the kids ALL THE TIME. She never lets anyone forget how much of a burden they are. Cue the shoulder shrug, downturned maw and dead eyes that she does oh so well. Smug bitch. I am so fortunate to have had a mother who wanted to give me enriching experiences during my childhood. No mansion, no private school, but lots of memories from ballet to Brownies to Girl Scouts (many bonding experiences with badges!) to tennis to swimming and diving to organ lessons...oh, lots of friends that I could hang out with and cousins too! And the kicker? I never had to WORK a day of my childhood for it. That's the way it should be.
Kate's mortgage. Gift cards. Hair nails/feet to get done. Tanning. Gas up her cars. Pay for Steve and their trips. Pay for all the kids things and events.
I mean it's not like Kate has tons of money right?
And it's not like their divorced and Kate is-"Can do Kate"-right?
Re: breast lift/reduction. Probably not and I'll tell you why. I'm rather ample up top and a really good sports bra lifts and reduces me unbelievably. I put that bra on and my boobs are manageable and my waistline elongates. I wish I could look that way all the time! Plus, with Kate's extreme weight loss, she's bound to lose breast fat and get smaller despite the augmentation.
Out of all 29 pictures Kate was the only one that looked old and UNHEALTHY. I also think that it was funny in her recent sit down interview that she said the only reason why so many awful things are written about her is because it comes with being famous and that some people just live to tear you down (paraphrased) but name all the other stars who are treated so unfairly like you Kate? Crickets. Dogs will only chew on the meat of a bone provided. YOU are the one who provides the material of your life Kate! People dislike you because you treat humans like shoka's feces under your shoe. I laugh when you say "people love me when they meet me?". Really Kate? Then why do so many people dislike you? Why do you go through so many helpers if all them have so much undying love for you? Sweetheart...get some help!! I'd like to say it's not too late to change your image and reputation..but it is...,at least you may change the future relationship you are bound to have with your kids. It's time to get over the love affair you are having with yourself...it's time you broke up with Kate cuzit's a toxic relationship.
She ran wearing a CC shirt that was pink and mentioned SGK. That was HER contribution to supporting Breast Cancer Awareness. By wearing a shirt that CC provided, Kate probably felt her contribution was done.
Kate, how did you support Breast Cancer awareness?
Kate's answer: Well, I wore this shirt that CC provided.
Tucker's mom ~ Same here, but I think there's more to it...unless she got an even better sports bra than she wore in mid-summer. Take a look at the July 24 photo, by way of comparison: the CC t-shirt is pulling in the armpits, her cup size looks enormous, and they hang lower overall.
LOL, I can't believe I'm even discussing this! Doesn't matter in the overall scheme of things, does it?. I'm in agreeance with JudyK and Formerly Duped, though: Say what you will about her appearance overall, I think her proportions are better. Breast-wise, anyway.
Yep, I'd noticed in the black dress that the girls seemed higher and smaller. Thought it was a better bra. And it looked WAY better! Now seeing the race photo, especially compared to pic #5 from Radar, I think you're right. Breast reduction and lift it is.
Enjoy that stone soup and crappy costumes kids. And if you don't tell me how great I am, there's always the wooden spoon and no supper and hair pulling.

I hope we won't get hung up on whether she did or she didn't. Let's remember that the size of her boobs doesn't mitigate the fact that she beat her kids, abused her dogs, grifts from those who can least afford it, spends the kids hard-earned money on herself and so much more.
I agree that I don't want those issues shoved under the rug again...but if she had more cosmetic surgery, it's dipping into the kids' funds. Maybe those 'nice' college funds.
I remember on a very early show J & K were making out their wills, and they had a codicil that the kids could not touch any inheritance until some age like 25? I forget exactly, but they wanted them either to be in college or in a career of some sort first.This is different than college funds, but I just thought it was odd.
Formerly Duped: I agree. If Kate had Plastic Surgery AGAIN on her boobs, she is spending Thousands of dollars at the same time complaining that she can't affored Halloween costumes.
Another LIE to add to her list. Another ME day for Kate. Another way to spend $$$$ earned by the kids.
I don't think she got breast reduction. If you look at the photos of her at the fashion show on Sept. 12, those girls are popping out. I think she is trying to dispel the rumors about breast surgery even more, and is wearing a bra that "mushes" her boobs to make them look flatter.
Just more damage control. She is again presenting herself as a "mom" who only cares about her kids.

Someone (whoever it may be) buying costumes is not the point.
The point is that Kate is wealthy, but crying poor about spending $160 on costumes.
the point is that Kate is spending big bucks on her hair and tanning while crying poor about spending $160 on costumes.
If there was no money, as they claimed, not even enough to pay their bills, and they have to grift toilet paper as recently as this summer, and Kate (the sole support of the family..snark) is not working.....how are the kids getting an inheritance? Enough that you have a big buck lawyer plan it out? Yet another thing that makes no sense.
I would think that the kids would much rather she would spend their inheritance on counseling for herself so that she could stop beating them.
Better yet, compare that pix of KK in the NYC 10K with the pix of her at the finish line in the Vegas marathon. I was always on the fence about whether or not she ran that marathon. Now I'm sure she didn't. If she looks that bad during (at the finish line?) of a 10K, there's no way she looked fresh as a daisy after a full marathon.
" don't want those issues shoved under the rug again...but if she had more cosmetic surgery, it's dipping into the kids' funds. Maybe those 'nice' college funds. ~~~~~~~~ I agree, but I don't know that I believe it's an either-or conversation. Trite as it might seem on the surface, exploring the possibility that she may have had a breast reduction & lift is more than idle chatter for some. It allows us to re-examine yet another huge whopper she's told. "Good bra," anyone?
Kate bragged about getting the twins Iphones for their birthday @99.99 each, spending over $200 for them. Yet, she then says that spending $20(or $28) per costume, is insanity.
Kate goes back and forth--bragging about how much she spends on her kids, then backpedaling how it's sooooo expensive.
BTW, unless you've had a mastectomy due to BC, breast surgery is on your own dime. When they lifted one to match the other in my case I had to have all the paperwork showing that I had BC. This was 12 years ago. I haven't had my implant changed but am thinking of going for a consult. If I do have it changed they will, by law, have to give me a lift on the other to make them semetrical. I'm only an A cup and the real one hangs a litter lower but I think I'm the only one who notices.
Why in the world would you pump up the boobies only to reduce them? I think they just look smaller because of the weight loss. Plus, she must have a tight sports bra on in the race so the girl are smooched down. She looks really haggard and much older than 37. That's what happens when you have an eating disorder and probably hitting the vino too much. Without the makeup and studio lights, you see the real deal don't you?
Greedy Gosselins, as I recall, Ex Nurse first asked people who don't put all the blame on Jon, to open their eyes or something along those lines. As if people with simply a different perspective weren't seeing the full picture as she was.
TLC stinks said... 97 Why in the world would you pump up the boobies only to reduce them? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1) relationships change, as do priorities 2) It's harder to perform physical exercise--running, especially--with larger breasts 3) You start to look matronly 4) After large weight loss, chest muscles weaken. I guess we do. I value a good education for kids rather than a fabulous Halloween costume. Jon must agree as he is paying for half of their private school according to the 50/50 custody that you claim.
&&&&
We do then. You can get a fabulous education at public school and have Halloween costumes too. I also think that if you've worked for five straight years and given up everything these kids have, they at least deserve a $20 Halloween costume. And if you can afford a school like that, there's quite a disconnect if you can't afford a $20 costume too.
Your assumption is not consistent with how family law really works. Jon may not have had a say at all in what school they go to, that is often up to the judge. He may very well be paying for the school even if he would rather they just go to a public school. In fact, what school a child will go to is often one of the most hotly contested issues in divorce, next to who will have custody when.
LOL he complained about and was close to going to jail (his words) for not being able to pay child support or rent. I have a feeling he wishes he had that type of money to pay her mortgage.
&&&
The difference is Jon hasn't complained about money while ALSO spending money on himself. He doesn't jaunt off on various trips and eat at fine restaurants, show up to get a mani-pedi, brag about iphones and laptops and have a closet full of expensive shoes, all the things Kate does. He by all accounts lives within his means.
Supporting Kate's ridiculous lifestyle WAS expensive. It doesn't seem fair just because she wants to live like they used to he has to fund it. But he doesn't have to do it anymore now that he has the kids half the time. Now he can raise them in a manner he can afford like every other parent and if Kate wants to raise them differently that's her problem.
I think we've been very critical of Jon at times. Maybe his likeness at the top of this blog is there to remind us that without his tacit approval and machinations, the kids would not have been made to work and lose their privacy. What gets me is the vicious misandry that Kate's acolytes spew forth regarding Jon. They, like Kate, act like Jon isn't in the picture. To marginalize him is to be in lock step with Kate's agenda: poor me, single mom, doing it all by myself. By all accounts, those kids adore Jon and that genuine love should not be marginalized for the sake of the children. They should never EVER feel that their father is anything less than what he is in their innocent eyes.

Kids that age don't need iPhones. Kids tend to lose things all the time, and they also break things. The more sophisticated a piece of electronics is, the more that can go wrong with them. The only reason a child that age needs a phone is for emergencies, and to stay in contact with parents about pick-up times, changes in schedules, etc., and I'll go along with that, although I don't know how we ever got along in school without one. However, you get a 12-year-old a basic cellphone...one that makes and receives call, and texts if necessary. Many of them are FREE with a contract. FREE, Kate, FREE.

I completely agree. I have a cell phone for emergencies only. Why would the twins need Iphones?
Kate is all about status--"I got my twins Iphones!!"
I can use my basic phone to call for emergencies, to connect with my family. Kate said the reason they have phones is so that she can connect with them when they're with Jon and/or on the bus. You don't need an Iphone for that. Any "mediocre" phone will do.
But because she got them Iphones, she is the best mommy that she can be!
I got an email from Amazon this morning to ask for a review on Roberts book. I gave my review and they sent another email saying my review went live on Amazon. I went to the site and could read mine. There were 54 other reviews but when I clicked on them to read this is what I got.

Ladies, need some advice. We just found out that our next door neighbor passed away during the night. He had been very ill for a long time, kids are grown and the wife actually divorced him during the winter and yet continued to live there. It was a very odd arrangement.
There apparently will be no viewing, no services, no nuttin'. Still I feel like that I really should cook or bake something today and get it over there. I mean, isnt that what we do when a neighbor dies?
It's not just the initial cost of the iphone but I don't believe there is a cell phone company that will let you get that without forcing you to buy a data plan too. I have the absolute cheapest iphone plan PLUS a 15% discount and it's still $65 a month. I'm not aware of anything cheaper when you have an iphone. I suppose they could have a family plan but it's still going to be more money and which way you slice it. Ridiculous. You could buy a lot of Halloween costumes for that.
Oh, that's sad. Maybe an Edible Arrangement (fruit) or a card with offer to cook- ask when-along with sympathy. That is odd- but it's your next-door neighbor, so I think it's nice of you to acknowledge it.
Maybe the ex was staying b/c of the illness and it was an amicable parting? Did you know them well?
Dwindle said... 113 ***** What to do, what to do. It's an odd situation. Do you think that the ex-wife will even have family or friends visiting to pay their respects? If so, then perhaps some morsels would help. You could always just offer your condolences and ask if there's anything you can do.

Dwindle-the divorce could have been for financial reasons only. Or maybe she felt obliged to provide care, or wanted to. I know what you mean about a death. You feel like it should be acknowledged somehow. If you were on friendly terms with them I would send over food of some sort. If you had no contact with them I guess I'd just leave a card in the mailbox, with a nice note.
I don't think money is the reason why Kate chooses not to participate in Halloween. Look at the how overboard she went spending money on thousands of Easter eggs. I thinks it's the whole idea of Halloween that Kate doesn't like. Why would she want to take her kids house to house and actually interact with people. Same with gymnastics and most other sports. While some of it may be about the money, I think it's mostly that Kate doesn't want to be inconvenienced with taking them every week, having to interact with people, etc. She seems to only like to be busy with her stuff and not anything to do with the kids. Maybe Jon will be able to provide some of these experiences for the kids. Although I'm sure he's just trying to stay afloat while working a "mediocre" job.

It made no sense that she complained about the cost of Halloween costumes when in the next breath she said how they have so many dress up clothes. How are dress up costumes any cheaper than Halloween costumes. Besides, you would think that the coupon queen would buy them after Halloween when they go on sale for the following year. It just sounds so stupid to say that she doesn't celebrate Halloween because of the cost of the costumes.
I have a feeling those kids are not even going trick or treating unless, like last year, the twins go with friends. I guess they could drive to Maryland and go in a subdivision there again while Kate sleeps in the car.
ljohnson2006 @kateplusmy8 no one can tell you how to raise your children. They can spread all of the false rumors that want. Support kate and her 8!
What about Kate needs to be supported (other than her good bra)? Why does Kate need support from her fans? I never understood this. She has no show, she has no job. Support her to do WHAT exactly?
Milo is at it again...
Kate @MiloandJack @SchmeckyGirl @ManzillaKilla @sarasmith2990 @Kateplusmy8 No true...U are mistaken! Jon has no where near 50/50 custody. I couple of wkends @MiloandJack
@SchmeckyGirl @ManzillaKilla @sarasmith2990 @Kateplusmy8 And where he desires, extra days 4 visitation w/them. Kate is sole provider! :)
I'm wondering if Milo really is for real, a lonely, desperate obsessive fan who hangs on to Kate's every word and deed because it's the closest she's ever going to come to being "someone". She thinks of herself as an insider, not realizing that when she tweets her love for Kate she becomes a laughingstock. In Milo's mind, though, Kate needs her to be a cheerleader and nothing is ever going to change that, and even if she were presented with court documents showing 50/50 custody, she still wouldn't believe it.
When you think about it, it really is quite sad.
Tucker's Mom said... 71 Realitytvkids.com (Administrator) said... _________________________________________ Amen

I think if she could turn the kids loose in the yard with a teenaged nanny and go back in the house to drink, she would love halloween just fine. It's the actual WORK she hates, she is just lazy. Sending the kids out trick or treating with hired help might look bad, so she wont do it.
As far a socializing goes, she likely thinks that mediocre children are too lowly and germ ridden to be near anything that has to live in HER house. But really, whether she admits it to herself or not, she is hiding the abuse. She doesnt want bruises or cowering or flinching to be seen, nor does she want the kids telling their friends that they get hit, pinched, screamed at, cursed, called names, get their faces slapped, get ridiculed, get portion controlled, etc etc etc.
Well, I am doing the neighbor thing that is traditional in my neighborhood. Around here it is the responsibility of whoever hears it first, to call around and announce the death. Then it is also the responsibility of the one next door to start the food thing and get that organized. So I am doing my part. Dwindle -- Speaking from experience. Neither of my parents had a viewing or a funeral, just a family grave side service, per their wishes. Food, cards, flowers or just sitting and letting me talk were all appreciated. I'm sure whatever you decide to do will be appropriate, because it will be from your heart.
Before I decided to drop my landline and go with cell only a couple of years ago, I had a pay as you go cell for emergencies, etc. It usually ran me about $30 a month, and the actual phone was less than $20. I just got my first iphone a few months ago, and it cost me all of $1. Yes, you read that right, $1. That was with the renewal of my cell contract. My service/data plan runs around $90 a month, but I got a higher data plan because I want to use my Kindle app on the phone and to read email when I'm away from home. Without the data plan, it would run about $35 a month. Those girls don't need an iphone with all the bells and whistles at their age.
Whoa Kate's looking fairly ragged in that photo. The lines are deep in her face now. Too bad there's no make-up trailer at these marathons where she can spackle some of those cracks before her photo is taken. It's catching up with her you can see it. She must be so pissed at Robert for digging in the trash and exposing her deep dark secret journal. No one was supposed to talk you see. She thought she had her ass covered with all those CAs she made people sign but oops, she outed herself in the end. Yeah you can run Katie but you can't hide anymore.

p.s. In our family, Halloween is just about dressing up- that's all. My daughter gets excited every year to go to a Thrift Store to find something that she can turn into a costume- at a very INexpensive price. She has managed to keep her costumes under $10. She's now 18 and still doing this. She has been Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Octomom-Nadya, that is- complete with 8 babies, a wind-up toy ala Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Last year she was a Toddlers and Tiara girl- an Ultimate Grand Supreme! These are just a few. The thrill for her is her creativity and she usually likes to make fun of pop culture. I bet Khate didn't even allow "her" kids to read Harry Potter! Years ago, John Travolta took his kids trick or treating in my hometown in NE Florida. He wanted his kids to have a normal holiday and no one made a big deal over it. Kate is just full of excuses and I cannot wait for the kids to speak up for themselves because I don't buy for a minute the things that Khate says the kids say to "her". The fact that they are so isolated is just sad! When my daughter was 8, she was traveling all over the state doing gymnastics competitions and she loved it! She was exposed to so many people and it was such a great experience. My son did Tae Kwon Do and he had so much fun doing that. Both of my kids are now in college and doing very well and I believe their past experiences with other kids helped make them that way- oh, and the fact that I NEVER used a wooden spoon on them!

You have to have a data plan. What a waste since Kate says the girls have no access to Google and probably very little of the rest of the 'net. Insurance is $10 a month too, although I doubt Kate bought that. Her insurance is that she knows if the phones are broken or lost, she'll klomp into the phone store and throw a tantrum until she gets a free replacement. Maybe Skeeve lays his creepy little claw on the poor clerk until Katie gets her way.
Kate doesn't spend one red penny unless there is some benefit to her. In this case, IMO she's bribing the twins. I think the 50/50 was a compromise in place of some of the kids wanting to live full time with their Dad. I also think the older and wiser they get, the twins were reaching their limits with Kate's horrible, selfish and absentee mothering.
When Jon and Kate separated and Kate was at the height of her fame, I think she thought that very soon she would get rid of Jon and maybe even get him to sign off on his rights to the children. I would bet my life he was presented with paperwork at some point regarding this. That may be a harsh statement, but I wouldn't put anything past someone who said on national TV that she doesn't understand why her children's father has any say in their lives.
Instead, she got nothing of the sort. She has to answer to a judge and be accountable for her actions. She has to practice self control and curb her abusive tendencies if she wants to keep up the facade of her faux brand.

Straight Talk has Droid phones with unlimited data, talk, text, for a prepaid $45 a month. Period. And you can port over your own phone by buying their SIM card if you want. Years ago we started my son with Straight Talk prepaid with just a $10 phone and their $30 month plan for talk and text. Eventually he took over the monthly charge himself. He is doing just fine in life at this point and could lock himself into any fancy phone contract he chooses, but he is still with Straight Talk, he got their high end phone and has their $45 plan which is unlimited for anything he wants to do. And my DD#1, the computer wonk, prefers the Droid technology to Apple iAnything, anyway.

hmmm.... wonder why she did run out and do that? Reminds me of when HunnyBunny and I bought the remaining 2 teenagers small 13" TVs for their rooms and the following week my ex husband bought them 19" flat screens. hmmmm...
Oh, and here's my guess on Kate's latest version of her "good bra."
She ran the race in Wyomissing 9/7 and awkwardly walked that runway in NYC on 9/13. I suspect she then took a side trip to Dr, Glassman's office in Nyack and had her implants exchanged for smaller ones. This has to be done surgically, but it is much less recovery time than the original augmentation. Patients usually resume normal activities in a day or two and can go back to their usual exercize routine in 4-5 weeks.
I think with the confimation of the boob job in the book, she wanted to reduce them so she can say with that smug ass look on her face "do I look like I got a boob job?" Also, with her new skeletor frame, she was probably having trouble with clothes.
I doubt Kate would get rid of the girls. She's way too fond of those puppies. She's probably taken to breast binding until this whole book mess goes away. Then she'll pop them out again.
Dwindle: How sweet of you. I'm sure the family will appreciate it.
Re: Halloween.It won't be much longer before the tups will not go for dress-up clothes from home and stale candy , trick-or-treating the wrong day in their own basement . I loathe Khate but I don't believe for one minute "she" had a breast reduction. I have always been well-endowed and I know there are minimizer bras. Also, Khate was wearing multi-layers that probably flattened the girls. Oh- and sports bras tend to flatten as well! It is what is is- just sayin'
I dont think k8 had a reduction. I think she lost breat tissue from her extreme diet. All that is left of the breast is the implant bag..hence why they now look smaller. The have slowly been going down in size as the weight plummets. JMO
Also..Disturbing how kate's answer to Colin feeling stressed and his taking his frustrations out on a highchair result in kate's deciding he needed to learn to control his anger by her BEATING him to the point she was scared she would truly hurt him. So Colin cannot express frustration but kate can express her's by injuring him and flinging him into his crib to stay for hours alone after a scary beating?
Im sure good old Milo and other kate fans have her defense already ready. It's lies..She was stressed...Colin should behave..Jon didnt help her so she snapped..kids need spanked...
Whtt makes me mad is that when excerpts of the book are released on Huffing Post or other sites they tend to make the book look silly by showing Kate's catering demands..or only lightly mentioned kids were "spanked" with a spoon. They do not even imply there were worse things in the book. It makes the book sound petty and makes people want to back kate for being victimized by a stalker.
Since almost all media is owned by just a few major companies..it is easy to control what is put out there for public opinion. No one wants to print the truth and risk a TLC lawsuit or lockout. The kids' true abusive will all be off topic and hidden in secret. kate was lucky to be under TLC's umbrella and that protection will continue forever even if they cut ties with her. They have too much to lose as accomplices. The story of how bad it got will never be picked up by mainstream media. NEVER. And since it hasn't the sheep will continue to believe it wasn't picked up because it wasn't true.
I wish instead of Robert warning kate via creepy twitter tweets and having that website countdown up prior to the book release, that he would have just stayed silent..then called TMZ and had a press conference reading the worst parts of the books aloud then announcing it was up for purchase today. That way people would have heard what the book really said before it got shut down. TMZ would have been all over that story and they have millions of readers.
Once again...Teflon Katie "wins." She is rewarded for child abuse with a sit down on WWHL where she can pander for a TV show in front of Bravo's Executive and an appearance with Katie Couric where softballs are tossed.
Im sure kate is cacking her head off once again. I am hoping this is the end of tv for her..but this book has dragged her back into the spotlight and there is renewed media interest lately. Even if it is far and few between.
Oh, another thing. How brillant would it have been for RH to read parts of the book - saying it was the words of a Gosselin parent.
The sheep would go nuts schreeeeching how Jon should be in prison. Media would pounce and denounce Jon. All would assume it had to be him. Then release the book and let them all see those were kate's word.
Let the words be heard without knowing whose they were. Then drop the bomb after the fallout.
Is she running in the next rock n'roll marathon in LA on Oct. 28? Might explain her lack of interest in Halloween this year. She likes to stay out there with Steve, so she might not even be home on the 31st.
I couldn't find the post above, but for the people wondering about receiving requests from Amazon for a review of Robert's book. This is SOP for Amazon. I think the notices to review must be automatic. The previously written reviews are still there. I wrote a review the day I purchased the book (I skimmed through it and then went back and read it in depth). My review is still in my account. I don't think it can be accessed by anyone other than myself at the moment, though. I'm sure if the book is returned to the sales "rack", the reviews will be there, too.

Anyone with grown kids, I think the best gauge of what is really important is what memories they talk about. How often do they talk about their house or their school? Now how often do they talk about the little things like that fun Halloween one year or this or that fun, reasonably priced activity you did. Kids don't care about the best house or the best school. They care about everything else in between. All the sand in that jar full of rocks. I rest my case.

I loathe this "woman" and "her" entire brand!

@Em- actually, I believe Khate's true colors came out on WWHL and I don't think it did anything for "her" whatsoever. That was clearly Morgan Fairchild's show and I wouldn't be surprised if the callers for Khate were pre-arranged! Plus, Andy took every moment to snark on "her". The fact that they did not play Plead the Fifth and the fact that the game they did play only required Khate to give a yes or no answer (even though Khate was trying to milk that)and then gave Morgan as much time to explain was just classic. The after show was even funnier-like Khate was tryng to audition but the look on Andy's face was a clear tell all. It was all very awkward and I don't believe Andy followed up on Khate's answers because he didn't want to give "her" any more time than he had to!
My "repeat" talks with my parents, the memories we'd share often:
- Swimming team (going to out of town meets) - Neighborhood friends - Girl Scout activities and songs - Mom and I would sing old GS songs together when we were working side by side in the kitchen - Dad loved it and would come to the kitchen to sit and listen - School stuff (I went to public schools) - Church stuff (Youth Group, Sunday services, etc, but we didn't talk much about Sunday School) - Sunday night dinners in the rec room, always soup & sandwich, then Dad and I would play board games - usually Chinese Checkers. - Christmas Day when all the children were grown. It was even more fun then. - Silly stuff nobody but we would understand.
My 2 sisters and my brother would give you their own lists, but they would be eerily similar to mine, I think.
Everyone in my family has modest, single family homes.
But we had enough property for a volleyball net, throwing the softball, running through the sprinkler, etc., my favorite memories around the house. My cousin's house was zoned for chickens. So we got that experience too.
All things that cost next to nothing and don't require a mansion.
TLC Stinks: you must have missed Kate informing the world on WWHL that she thinks she's the "only person who has DE-AGED".... Yeah, I need to sip some of that wine that she partakes each evening while reading here
As long as the press, school officials and legislators are not called out for using cutesy euphemisms like "spanking" or "Paddling" when they actually mean hitting a child with an object, child abuse will continue to flourish without being taken seriously.The words minimize the effects of the actions and make it seem almost OK to beat a child IMO.
The picture in my head is The CHILD ABUSER/ANIMAL ABUSER Kate Gosselin beating her young children and her fans ( ENABLERS ) standing in front of her with their cheerleading outfits yelling " GO GO GO"!!!
How else can they defend this monster who beats not hits her own children!
For those ENABLERS ( fans) that defend her on twitter or here what does that make you????
Can someone please tell Kate's neck that it should be de-aging? The bonehead part of that scenario, where Andy puts up Kate's old photo and alludes to her looks changing a great deal, is that it had zero to do with how old she looked, it's that her face has morphed! Does she get how she can't follow a simple conversation. Where do you go after the inane comment? How does one follow up knowing each answer gets stupider ;-) than the last!
The problem too with "spanking" is everyone has a different definition. In CA the legal definition is an open hand to the buttocks. But you might have one mom doing a light swat once, while another bending the kid over, stripping off their underpants and smacking them over and over as hard as they can. And it makes a difference in my opinion too as to why they were smacked. Did they deliberately run into the street after you told them no and nearly get killed? Or did they just innocently wet their pants without meaning to because they aren't potty trained? Big difference.
While I don't believe in any kind of physical force to discipline a child, even the lightest of taps, what some people may imagine is a light swat may be in Kate's eyes, truly a drawn out, hard beating. And that's scary, because how can you say spanking is okay without knowing exactly how it goes down for that particular parent?
Oh my god. The khate fans on twitter are really busy trying to prove what a wonderful mom she is. They really need to get a grip. I wonder how many of them have actually read the book. It also sounds like they have been over here, because they seem to be repeating what we are saying over and referring to us as haters. I think the few that have been here the last few days are the ones trying to start trouble on this blog.
This may not be about memories, but it is something that my son did in school for Mother's Day when he was 10. He is now 21 and I still have this on my dresser. The project was to cut out several butterflies that had the beginning of a sentence typed on the wing, and the child had to finish the sentence.
One began "Mom I think you are special because": he finished with "you take care of me and (sister's name)"
Another began "I'm glad you are my mom when": he finished with "you talk with me"
And the one that gets me choked up to this day- "If I could grant you one wish it would be": he finished with "Poppy could get better" (My dad had been in the hospital for several weeks after getting an infection following surgery, and he passed away about a week after Mother's Day.)
My point is that my son did not write about anything of monetary value, or want to grant me a wish that we were rich and I could by him all the toys he wanted. He was content that I took care of him and his sister and took time to talk to him.
So yeah, kids don't really care about how much "stuff" they have or what kind of house they live in, they just want to feel loved and wanted.
Lauren, that is beautiful and so representative of how a kid really thinks.
It's really the adults who mess them up and teach them to value iphones, nobu, kobe beef, shoes and clothes, isn't it?
If the kids cared about their house, they wouldn't have been screaming like they did when Jon left, begging him "Daddy don't go." I think at the time he was just living in an apartment. I think Kate even said some of were in sleeping bags. They didn't care, they wanted to be with daddy.
By the logic of the kids have a house and a great school therefore they are not shafted, then it follows that anyone who doesn't have a mansion and a great school, is unhappy. That certainly isn't the case. Tens of thousands of kids live in modest homes and go to public school and have perfectly happy lives. Because it's all the other things that really matter.

Yes, this.
It's the child-rearing equivalent of saying "enhanced interrogation" when what you're actually doing is torture.
And to my mind, cracking jokes about "The Spanker" has a similar effect. It blunts the seriousness of it all. I enjoy kidding around, but I don't find anything funny about controlling your kids with a kitchen-utensil-turned-weapon.
Please understand: I'm not chastising anyone who feels otherwise, nor am I suggesting anyone else tailor their sense of humor to suit my sensibilities. Of course not. We're kindred spirits about child advocacy issues, but we're all individuals, with different personalities and belief systems. I'm just saying that it doesn't sit right with me.
And on a wholly different subject, my heart goes out to all those who've shared unhappy stories and/or are undergoing painful circumstances right now. I'm sending you all good thoughts, for strength and healing. May you be swaddled in peace.
I looked at the Spinning Wheel game and laughed at Kate's reaction to it. What I saw was her disbelief that calling out seconds was ALL she got to do. It was like they included her in this game only because she was sitting there. When it registered with her that it was about MORGAN's TV appearances, and that MORGAN was going to talk about them, and Kate was not going to be asked to talk about herself, she was flustered. "WHAT do you want me to do? That's it? Brother, what a dumb game. It would be more fun if it was "Where is Kate in this picture - New Zealand, Alaska, Hawaii, Chicago? Morgan, do you think I can do it in 2 seconds? I have a memory like an elephant."
I'm sure she didn't get the rules down, but I think so much of her reaction was "why is this all about Morgan?"
I see Kate must be buying followers again. It keeps going up about 100 at a time. I know someone on here has been keeping track. Do we know how many new ones since the book came out?

There apparently will be no viewing, no services, no nuttin'. Still I feel like that I really should cook or bake something today and get it over there. I mean, isnt that what we do when a neighbor dies?
____
I went through this with my now-husband's mother (we were dating, not engaged, altho now are married).
They did not want a service/funeral/etc., but her death was very sudden and her coworkers were very upset, as she was a wonderful women and had worked the same job for 10+ years.
Two of her closest friends at work approached my now FIL and asked if they could hold a reception at her workplace. A few days after she passed, we all went to her workplace. They had catered food brought in, everyone approached us with their condolences (in fact, one of her friends told me that she had given me "her blessing" which meant the world to me) and a few people said some really nice things about her.
It was a very low key, respectful event ( less then two hours) and helped a number of people who really felt the need to pay their respects. The family did not participate in any planning ( I do not know if my FIL contributed toward food costs).
Not telling you what to do here, but just giving an example of how a similar situation was handled.

It is a lot to ask of interviewers and their staff to pick through all of the commentary. There was a lot that could have been by formatting so that his commentary was easily distinguished from Kate's words.
I completely agree that Kate's words are enough to show her true colors--the rest is distraction. I have said, repeatedly, that no embellishment or theories are necessary--what we have seen and now read has already confirmed that she is a greedy, child abusing grifter. I think that some of the conspiracy theories gives her way too much credit as a mastermind.
Sleepless--I am in Seattle also. I guess our endless summer is over....
Speaking of pimping kids out, if you have Netflix streaming, watch The Hollywood Complex. It's about stage moms and dads who bring their kids to Hollywood for pilot season. It's heart-breaking and infuriating to watch these idiots throw their money away to chase a dream that is never going to happen. Paul Peterson does some commentary too. Hollywood has no allure for me whatsoever. How a parent could drag their kid into a cesspool of grifters and rejection is beyond me. I'm glad that no one ever took the bait that Kate put out there for Mady being a "Disney star". It's an absolutely brutal life in an industry that is swarming with pedophiles.

I completely agree. All of my boys are still in the house, so we'll have to wait an see what they talk about. Good and bad, lol.
When I think back to my childhood, what I remember are little things. I doubt my parents would even think they we memories worth remembering. I loved going to the gas station with my father. (this was during the 70's gas rationing) It was the only time I ever had my father's undivided attention. I have a vivid memory of my mother tucking me into my bed.
I really do love the analogy of the big rocks in a jar, and filling up all the spaces in between with grains sands.
Yeah, you do need those big rocks in there. A child needs a home, food, basic comforts. But after that, it's all the little things, the grains of sand, that fill in the cracks. But you can't fill up the entire jar with just rocks, there will always be space in between. If a grown adult hasn't realized that by now I doubt they ever will.
I just now noticed Kate and how she really looks! Deanna, girl you are good! Without your help and I'll be kind she is not pretty! I'm older and my neck doesn't look like that ! For some of you guys who think she is pretty( and I'm not mentioning names) one question. Really???
As far as Halloween, childhood memories include life experiences not only the school you attend or the house you live in! I went to a public school lived in a tiny house but I have the best childhood memories!!
There was a lot that could have been by formatting so that his commentary was easily distinguished from Kate's words.
**************
I didn't have a problem distinguishing his commentary from Kate's words, but I did find that the organization was very haphazard...an editor should have gone over the entire thing, organized it in a better format, perhaps chronologically, and deleted all of the repetition. I thought that including the journal entries, tweets, letters, so many times was very distracting. I'd read something, and then think...wait a minute, I read this twice before.
Granted, he's not a journalist, but if that was re-worked and reformatted, it would be so much better.

I think that the neck thing is genetic. My grandmother has a beautiful neck, not a wrinkle or sag on it, so I'm hoping that genes do play a part in whether one has the "turkey" neck or not!
There's not much she can do about her neck, other than to have the whole thing lifted and snipped...same with the no-waist. It's the way she's built. She'd have to have a complete body make-over if she wanted to keep going with the California Barbie/Hollywood diva theme...
Just adding a recipe to the mix....easy easy easy! Buy the small waffle shaped pretzels and place them evenly on a foil lined cookie sheet...place one rollo caramel candy in the middle of each one. Place in a 350 degree preheated oven for 1-2 minutes or until chocolate is shiny...remove from oven and immediately place another pretzel over the rollo and press down. Cool and store in airtight container. Salt and sweet delightful ness!!
Dwindle & everyone: I'm Lutheran too, and never heard of this prosperity gospel: What it sounds like to me is a manmade gospel to justify things people do. Like Kate's new phrase: it is what it is, or simply put, I'm not explaining. A lameo cop-out!
Bubbles...you're the kind of mother Kate can only dream about being. You're an inspiration to your kids and they will surely appreciate it when they're adults. Keep the new clothes as you deserve it. Losing 60lbs. is a fantastic reason to get new clothes. Keep up the good work. Sad to hear you have to pay your kids grandparent to watch them. I watch my 4 year old grandson regularly and I can't imagine charging my daughter for it. I do it out of love and the pure joy of spending time with him. Also, so my daughter doesn't have to worry about childcare costs and she knows he's safe and happy.
I've been trying to catch up on all the posts as my husband and I spent a few days in the lovely state of NH hiking up a mountain and doing some relaxing (although, after the hike we did a three mile walk around a lake. Then we went back to the inn and took a two hour nap!) Yesterday was homecoming at hubby's college alma mater and my oldest daughter and her boyfriend were home for the weekend to attend the wedding of one of her hs friends. You definitely miss alot when you don't read the blog for a few days but it is nice to get away from it.
Lovemygrandsons...sympathies on the loss of your friend.
Twittering, I agree I was very lucky my mom aged very slowly and did not wrinkle much! I have always looked ten years younger( I also hate the sun) but look life is not perfect. My mom had cancer and so did I .
But it's not just Kate's neck , it's also her face. She has done major damage!
Kate exaggerates to impress. All this garbage about "having friends who would die for her." Who says that? Need to impress much? It gets on my last nerve when anyone does it. There is no justifiable need to do it unless you are insecure. Too much like bragging to suit me. Comes off annoying and juvenile. Kate Gosselinish, do you think?
I hope Robert has taken our criticism in stride. A more professional and crisp narrative would enhance the book sales and maybe be taken more seriously. There were so many nuggets but unfortunately I got distracted or bored by the repetition and his opinions. If not for her actual journal, what he wrote was of tabloid quality. I say turn it over to a real author and/or editor and make it a first class read and unbiased. That way you would eliminate the sheeple bleating that Robert has an axe to grind. He'd still be a co-author (and glad he dumped Al Walentis who turned out to be a back-stabber).
What I loved was how Kate said all her friends live out of state. Are those her friends on twitter she is referring to? I know Jamie lives our of state but i doubt she would die for her. I have plenty of friends that I have had since childhood. As close as we are I would never assume or expect they would die for me. The only people I would die for are my husband and children.
I agree Kate's face is sundamaged from all that tanning. My face is as well but I am redhead who grew up in the 70s. If sunscreen was invented we didn't know about it. I used tshirts, hats, beach umbrellas but at least twice wound up with a blistering sunburn and had countless other sunburns. I really am envious of people who don't have the lines I have at my age. Kate did it to herself though, knowing full-well the dangers of excessive UV exposure.
Oh, and I have had the same best friend since 4th grade and neither of us would die for each other. So over the top!
'The Life before Her Eyes" with Evan Rachel Wood and Uma Thurman is an excellent movie about if friends will die for one another...it's also a book.

EM @ 145, You mentioned TMZ in your post. Originally Robert had TMZ listed as a chapter or story in the book, but there was little there except for reference to a couple articles they published during the divorce. He also made reference in a post on here that there would be more about TMZ coming out. I'm wondering what that is reference to; did TMZ have a tie to something about Kate? Around the time of the divorce they stopped covering her although they continue to cover all things Octomom. I'm just very curious about Robert's comments concerning TMZ. Did they find out something and get threatened if they published it? Curious.

That is just so darned sweet. I love it when teachers have time to help with these kinds of projects. I have one my son did during kindergarten where he named HunnyBunny as 'his hero. He fixes the car for my mommy'. (Teacher wrote my son's words on his drawing.) The thing is now laminated and STILL right this minute hanging on my refrigerator. That boy is 27 now. These memories are priceless and can never ever be recreated.
It would appear to me that the running facade is becoming more and more hard for KT to maintain. She is running shorter and shorter distances and by her own admission is having a difficult time. That last one she thought she was going to throw up, which means she probably did throw up, and admits that she was embarrased.

And the reality is she has done virtually nothing in six months.

Yes, but Milo tweeted that Kate is employed and has employment venues coming at her from everywhere! She's just so darn much in demand!
If Kate is working so darn much why are $20 Halloween costumes such a struggle for her? It's ONCE a YEAR.

That expression doesn't bother me nearly as much as "just sayin'"

Why would Kate tell Milo about every job?
She wouldn't.
That means:
Milo is really Kate
Milo is Steve or some other Kate-paid help
Milo is delusional or nuts, or both

''No need to apologize...My question is that if Kate is not buying the kids costumes why can't Jon?''
~~~~~
Why are you assuming that Jon hasn't gotten the kids costumes?
.........................
Aren't all of you assuming that he didn't?
What does the fact that many other people could buy these children costumes have to do with a mother who spends on herself like crazy claiming she cannot afford costumes? It's irrelevant to the fact that Kate spends on herself and shafts the kids. Maybe when Jon hears how cheap she is being he will. Maybe he has his own plans for Halloween. What I do know is I don't see him spending like Kate.
Why do some of us love well-done meat, as much as we do? (Sorry about the posting delay.)
As a kid, I used to ask for my filet mignon 'beef jerky style'... at my Dad's favorite French eatery in L.A. His continued grimace, made me switch to med-well in my 30's.
Graduating with age, yes. Well-done clique.
I'm sure Kate has already sent out her letter to MagicMakers costume supply house asking them
“… if there is a way my children could be a help in marketing your costumes..."
I dont know what else to do about it. Legislation went virturally nowhere. Attempts to make her viciousness and evil known are being swept under the rug. The 150 of us picketing her house will get nowhere. So we snark. Or are we just to roll over and play dead and let it continue without comment other than 'tsk tsk'?
I don't see where going to a great school and living in a beautiful home as 'shafting' the kids.
Are you saying that Kate should buy expensive Halloween costumes but, you don't see Jon spending money like she does? If Jon has 50/50 custody like you claim shouldn't he contribute?
I don't get it. Kate stated that the kids have buckets of dress up clothes already. If the kids are happy wearing them why do either parent need to buy them new costumes if they are not needed.
Ex nurse I'm trying to understand. What does tabloid tactics have to do with this info? The fact is, the info is now out there. The ethics, who's, how's and whys are a separate issue that's already been disscused at length and will continue to be discussed. You seem to be confusing the two, which in my opinion is distracting from Kate's terrible behavior.
Realitytvkids.com (Administrator) said... 107 Ex nurse, what do you think of Kate's own words??
----------------
I am really only giving my opinion about why it is not being picked up in the mainstream media. 1) I think that to the average person that doesn't follow the story closely, he sounds deranged. What interviewer is going to plow through that voluminous book, or even dedicate a staffer to read it--let alone read an even less readable book about Jon to complete the picture? They are not the Royal Family, for God's sake, and 2) I think that many in the public eye will be sympathetic to Kate because I'm sure that all celebrities worry about the same thing happening to them. Obviously, Robert can write anything he wants.
Other posters have said, and I agree, that it would have been more readable, if Robert had just published Kate's words and limited his comment to simply provide some context and a timeline.
As far as the tabloid tactics--I don't think that just because someone happens to work as an entertainer, that anything goes. And, obviously, just because these types of tactics are the norm, doesn't mean that, for many, they cross a line. For example, IMO, Sandra Bullock did not deserve to have her private marital problems splashed all over the headlines. I don't feel entitled to that information about a very classy, authentic woman who clearly values her privacy and lives up to her image in every way just because she works as an actress. When someone projects a fake public image and hoodwinks the public, as Kate does, I agree that she is fair game--I wouldn't be on this blog if I didn't. She (and Jon) opened up their lives to the public and now they are feeling the consequences.I see it as the same situation as public officials who espouse family values and morality and are then caught stalking underage pages, seducing interns and having anonymous sex with men in airport bathrooms.
Out of curiosity, Admin--why is Jon still up on the top of the blog if you feel so strongly that he has reformed his ways? Around a year ago, you and I were talking about that-as a matter of fact, I suggested taking him off because he had stayed out of the public eye for so long. And then, as I recall, there was some random story or interview within a day or two. I don't understand some of your criticism of posters that haven't changed their opinion of Jon. The criticism of him is relevant because his image and name are at the top of the blog.
Dwindle.......141
I have to comment on what you said . First of all someone said this morning ( don't remember who ) that these blogs are what keep Kate relevant . I disagree ! The Admin.'s 15 Minutes, GWOP, and others are what brought her down. That's why TLC tried to stop the anti-Kate blogs. As a matter of fact if it wasn't for the blogs she would still have her show and clobbering the kids so they would smile for the cameras.
That's why her die hard fans want everyone to just go away. They figure that if the negative stuff goes away maybe she can make a come back!
One more thing, did any one else notice when Andy C. Asked how the kids were doing she said that the kids film or make movies and they even edit them, he then caught her off! She is going to do everything to have those kids in front of a camera! Lindsey and Dina Lohan move over!
You are SO right. Robert's book is just terrible. He shouldn't have been aloud to sell it...especially for the price of $8.88!!! I also agree that there IS something terribly ''off'' about Robert. I mean, good grief, just look at what he has done! He has actually used KK's own words about beating her toddlers!! It is amazing that everyone can't see how ''off'' it is to expose KK's abuse of her children, and dogs! Thank you Paren, for making so much sense!!
I guess we do. I value a good education for kids rather than a fabulous Halloween costume. Jon must agree as he is paying for half of their private school according to the 50/50 custody that you claim.
Oh, Ms Butterfly, I'm glad you posted because I wanted to tell you that my grandson called us last week (he really is bored recuperating from knee surgery) and we talked about what he'd like to get in a box. You'd never guess - pancake mix and syrup. Since the guys don't have cars the're doing most of their shopping in the local markets and that isn't an arabian staple. So he'll be getting an APO box soon.
Every night. You would think the zealots would get bored here but they can't stay away.
Jon isn't on TV complaining about the price of raising kids. Jon isn't telling the world what his plans are so nobody is commenting about what Jon is or is not buying. Kate tells everything about anything because she only wants attention and since the book came out, she's proven to have no shame as long as it gets her child-abusing mug on TV.
Also, why can Jon date and have relationships? Doesn't he also have 8 kids?
She blames them for everything.
Whether Robert is "off " or not does not negate Kate's own words.
*******************
But if someone in the media didn't go digging and find out the extent to which Kate hoodwinked the public, we might never know. Certainly we suspected that what went on behind closed doors was worse than what we saw on film, but we didn't know to what extent. What if the classy, authentic actress such as Sandra really wasn't all that she projected herself to be? What if she really was a wolf in sheep's clothing with skeletons in her closet? The media uses the resources that it has, and if they land on something that indeed exposes the sins of celebrities, then the result is a book or tabloid story that shows they are not virtuous people that they claim to be. Should some celebrities be off-limits while others are fair game? Who decides which is which? Is there an unwritten, agreed-upon list of which ones get raked over, and which ones are hands off?
I think that any celebrity who puts himself/herself out there expects the media to keep a critical eye on them. Are boundaries crossed when private aspects of their lives are exposed? Yes, but when you're a public figure, you can't have it both ways. Someone is always going to be watching, just waiting to pounce on you for that breaking story. Keeping your nose clean just might be one way of keeping the pack hounds off your back, but even then there will always be someone determined to uncover the dirt that will bring you down.
All is not fair in the entertainment world, and I'm temped to say that "it is what it is," but, well...
Jon was in Star magazine complaining he could not pay his child support and afford to pay his rent.
As far as dating goes, Jon can date anyone he wants and does. I think it is always harder for a mother with kids than it is a father with kids to date.
I'm hoping RH is getting the book edited by somebody for the re-publishing. Maybe NaughtybutNice might realize this story shouldn't go away
On another note, seems NaughtybutNice's claim to fame is revealing the pregnancy of Jamie Lynn Spears, a child.
It's difficult for me to have faith in the guy but I'm trying.
Paren said,
Nobody is saying that a good education isn't important, or that a Halloween costume is necessary for happiness. The criticism of Kate not buying a costume for her kids is because she spends money on herself, but when it comes to taking the kids to movies, enrolling them in gym classes, or even buying them 3D glasses, she complains about the expense of it all. She doesn't bat an eye taking a limo to New York to have her hair done, or paying for a tanning club membership, or having dinner out at expensive restaurants, but when it comes to the kids, she whines about the cost.
I forgot about that one interview months ago. Paren is right. Jon should pay for costumes as well ad the part of the private schools that isn't covered. Kate got it partiality paid for so she shouldn't have to pay anything.
Jon should also pay Kate's mortgage and refilling her gift cards as needed. He really doesn't know how to help her.
LOL he complained about and was close to going to jail (his words) for not being able to pay child support or rent. I have a feeling he wishes he had that type of money to pay her mortgage.
~~~~~~~~
Paren, once again, you are so right!
Sorry, guess I need chocolate, too...
Paren said,

Applause to mscatie.
She beat the crap out of her babies!
What else matters?
Does anybody here ever wake their babies "with your angry voice?
Why are the excuses still coming?
She needs help, not enanblers.
I wonder if Kate realizes that google is just one of many search engines.
GG, I wasn't referring to the regular posters on this blog. I meant the drive bys and her Twits.
What the hell does having fun have to do with anything!?! Does Kate think that that phrase makes her look like a better mother? "come join our fun" "more mom power for fun ahead" a "dating show would be fun" she sounds so freakin' juvenile and stupid!

At the very least, she sounds tone-deaf.
Any news about Shoka?
Amazon sent me a review request for RH's book this morning. I folled the link and it appeared the book was back. But when I attempted to go to the book directly, it was an error page. Still kind of funny to get the review request.

Hi!!
thx for the update, I hope his recovery is going well :)
Another point to keep in mind, for the xmas deadline, and I was on a ship so it might be different for a base on land, but the deadline to ship holiday packages is like 2 weeks before the actual holiday, so make sure you have that one special package ready to go!! :)
Kate needs sleep to get 'mom power' for today...why do I find that scary? Is church an option for the 'fun ahead' she promises?
Purely speculation here, but I think she's had a breast lift & reduction.

I meant grandson,not SIL- my goodness!!

******
Let me see if I can add something here.
Paren
You are soooooo right Jon should pay for.
Re my thoughts that she probably got a breast lift & reduction, I think this pair of photos tells an interesting story:

Here's Kate Adm if ya wanna put her up on the new blog post-(I hope ya do).
http://running.competitor.com/files/2012/10/Gosselin_Kate-NycRnRoll12.jpg

Jane:

''No need to apologize...My question is that if Kate is not buying the kids costumes why can't Jon?''
~~~~~
Why are you assuming that Jon hasn't gotten the kids costumes?
.........................
Aren't all of you assuming that he didn't?
_______________
Someone (whoever it may be) buying costumes is not the point.
The point is that Kate is wealthy, but crying poor about spending $160 on costumes.
the point is that Kate is spending big bucks on her hair and tanning while crying poor about spending $160 on costumes.
Maybe Kate has a coupon for a boob job that CC provided.-lol
If there was no money, as they claimed, not even enough to pay their bills, and they have to grift toilet paper as recently as this summer, and Kate (the sole support of the family..snark) is not working.....how are the kids getting an inheritance?
Enough that you have a big buck lawyer plan it out?
Yet another thing that makes no sense.
I would think that the kids would much rather she would spend their inheritance on counseling for herself so that she could stop beating them.
Better yet, compare that pix of KK in the NYC 10K with the pix of her at the finish line in the Vegas marathon. I was always on the fence about whether or not she ran that marathon. Now I'm sure she didn't. If she looks that bad during (at the finish line?) of a 10K, there's no way she looked fresh as a daisy after a full marathon.
Formerly Duped (and Jane):
" don't want those issues shoved under the rug again...but if she had more cosmetic surgery, it's dipping into the kids' funds. Maybe those 'nice' college funds.
~~~~~~~~
I agree, but I don't know that I believe it's an either-or conversation.
Readerlady, my thoughts exactly. I think those two ladies she hooked up with were involved in the cheating in LV.
Reader Lady (92) and TLC Stinks (95)
I echo your observations & sediments (sic). Running doesn't come easy for her (me, either), but those ladies in LV "knew how to help her."
Looks like her running ladies didn't pace her this time. Maybe they don't want to be associated with a child abuser?
Greedy Gosselins, as I recall, Ex Nurse first asked people who don't put all the blame on Jon, to open their eyes or something along those lines. As if people with simply a different perspective weren't seeing the full picture as she was.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1) relationships change, as do priorities
2) It's harder to perform physical exercise--running, especially--with larger breasts
3) You start to look matronly
4) After large weight loss, chest muscles weaken. The implants droop and sometimes fall.
5) Difficult to find cute clothes
I guess we do. I value a good education for kids rather than a fabulous Halloween costume. Jon must agree as he is paying for half of their private school according to the 50/50 custody that you claim.
&&&&
We do then. You can get a fabulous education at public school and have Halloween costumes too. I also think that if you've worked for five straight years and given up everything these kids have, they at least deserve a $20 Halloween costume. And if you can afford a school like that, there's quite a disconnect if you can't afford a $20 costume too.
Your assumption is not consistent with how family law really works. Jon may not have had a say at all in what school they go to, that is often up to the judge. He may very well be paying for the school even if he would rather they just go to a public school. In fact, what school a child will go to is often one of the most hotly contested issues in divorce, next to who will have custody when.
LOL he complained about and was close to going to jail (his words) for not being able to pay child support or rent. I have a feeling he wishes he had that type of money to pay her mortgage.
&&&
The difference is Jon hasn't complained about money while ALSO spending money on himself. He doesn't jaunt off on various trips and eat at fine restaurants, show up to get a mani-pedi, brag about iphones and laptops and have a closet full of expensive shoes, all the things Kate does. He by all accounts lives within his means.
Supporting Kate's ridiculous lifestyle WAS expensive. It doesn't seem fair just because she wants to live like they used to he has to fund it. But he doesn't have to do it anymore now that he has the kids half the time. Now he can raise them in a manner he can afford like every other parent and if Kate wants to raise them differently that's her problem.
I think we've been very critical of Jon at times. Maybe his likeness at the top of this blog is there to remind us that without his tacit approval and machinations, the kids would not have been made to work and lose their privacy.
What gets me is the vicious misandry that Kate's acolytes spew forth regarding Jon. They, like Kate, act like Jon isn't in the picture. To marginalize him is to be in lock step with Kate's agenda: poor me, single mom, doing it all by myself.
By all accounts, those kids adore Jon and that genuine love should not be marginalized for the sake of the children. They should never EVER feel that their father is anything less than what he is in their innocent eyes.
Jesus, Kate looks about 55 in that picture! De-aging my ass!
Kate bragged about getting the twins Iphones for their birthday @99.99 each, spending over $200 for them. Yet, she then says that spending $20(or $28) per costume, is insanity.
Kids that age don't need iPhones. Kids tend to lose things all the time, and they also break things. The more sophisticated a piece of electronics is, the more that can go wrong with them. The only reason a child that age needs a phone is for emergencies, and to stay in contact with parents about pick-up times, changes in schedules, etc., and I'll go along with that, although I don't know how we ever got along in school without one. However, you get a 12-year-old a basic cellphone...one that makes and receives call, and texts if necessary. Many of them are FREE with a contract. FREE, Kate, FREE.
Where is Jon's book?
I completely agree. I have a cell phone for emergencies only. Why would the twins need Iphones?
Kate is all about status--"I got my twins Iphones!!"
I can use my basic phone to call for emergencies, to connect with my family. Kate said the reason they have phones is so that she can connect with them when they're with Jon and/or on the bus. You don't need an Iphone for that. Any "mediocre" phone will do.
But because she got them Iphones, she is the best mommy that she can be!
I got an email from Amazon this morning to ask for a review on Roberts book. I gave my review and they sent another email saying my review went live on Amazon. I went to the site and could read mine. There were 54 other reviews but when I clicked on them to read this is what I got.
Looking for something?
We're sorry. The Web address you entered is not a functioning page on our site
Go to Amazon.com's Home Page
I can't seem to find the reviews anywhere. I wonder what Amazon is doing with them. Unless they are waiting for the book to be cleared to go back on the market.
I bet C & M's classmates have iphones too. It is about status.
Weight loss and suntanning are not a good combo for Kate.
Ladies, need some advice. We just found out that our next door neighbor passed away during the night. He had been very ill for a long time, kids are grown and the wife actually divorced him during the winter and yet continued to live there. It was a very odd arrangement.
There apparently will be no viewing, no services, no nuttin'. Still I feel like that I really should cook or bake something today and get it over there. I mean, isnt that what we do when a neighbor dies?
It's not just the initial cost of the iphone but I don't believe there is a cell phone company that will let you get that without forcing you to buy a data plan too. I have the absolute cheapest iphone plan PLUS a 15% discount and it's still $65 a month. I'm not aware of anything cheaper when you have an iphone. I suppose they could have a family plan but it's still going to be more money and which way you slice it. Ridiculous. You could buy a lot of Halloween costumes for that.
Oh, that's sad. Maybe an Edible Arrangement (fruit) or a card with offer to cook- ask when-along with sympathy. That is odd- but it's your next-door neighbor, so I think it's nice of you to acknowledge it.
Maybe the ex was staying b/c of the illness and it was an amicable parting? Did you know them well?
Actually I don't want a service myself!
I don't think money is the reason why Kate chooses not to participate in Halloween. Look at the how overboard she went spending money on thousands of Easter eggs. I thinks it's the whole idea of Halloween that Kate doesn't like. Why would she want to take her kids house to house and actually interact with people. Same with gymnastics and most other sports. While some of it may be about the money, I think it's mostly that Kate doesn't want to be inconvenienced with taking them every week, having to interact with people, etc. She seems to only like to be busy with her stuff and not anything to do with the kids. Maybe Jon will be able to provide some of these experiences for the kids. Although I'm sure he's just trying to stay afloat while working a "mediocre" job.
T-shirts are useful as well.
It made no sense that she complained about the cost of Halloween costumes when in the next breath she said how they have so many dress up clothes. How are dress up costumes any cheaper than Halloween costumes. Besides, you would think that the coupon queen would buy them after Halloween when they go on sale for the following year. It just sounds so stupid to say that she doesn't celebrate Halloween because of the cost of the costumes.
I have a feeling those kids are not even going trick or treating unless, like last year, the twins go with friends. I guess they could drive to Maryland and go in a subdivision there again while Kate sleeps in the car.
@kateplusmy8 no one can tell you how to raise your children. They can spread all of the false rumors that want. Support kate and her 8!
What about Kate needs to be supported (other than her good bra)? Why does Kate need support from her fans? I never understood this. She has no show, she has no job. Support her to do WHAT exactly?
Milo is at it again...
Kate @MiloandJack
@SchmeckyGirl @ManzillaKilla @sarasmith2990 @Kateplusmy8 No true...U are mistaken! Jon has no where near 50/50 custody. I couple of wkends
@MiloandJack
@SchmeckyGirl @ManzillaKilla @sarasmith2990 @Kateplusmy8 And where he desires, extra days 4 visitation w/them. Kate is sole provider! :)
I'm wondering if Milo really is for real, a lonely, desperate obsessive fan who hangs on to Kate's every word and deed because it's the closest she's ever going to come to being "someone". She thinks of herself as an insider, not realizing that when she tweets her love for Kate she becomes a laughingstock. In Milo's mind, though, Kate needs her to be a cheerleader and nothing is ever going to change that, and even if she were presented with court documents showing 50/50 custody, she still wouldn't believe it.
When you think about it, it really is quite sad.
I'm saying Kate should stop skimping on the kids while spending on herself. If you think private school and a mansion means they are not getting shafted, then we have tremendously different values.
******
Let me see if I can add something here.
It's not about a 6000 square foot house because a kid doesn't care if he lives in a mansion, and kids get great education and school experience in public school. The mansion and prestigious school could be replaced with a nice 5 br/3-4 bath house in the burbs (for a fraction of the price) and the yellow bus to their designated public school, so I think that's a wash. Those things do not make for a happy childhood. That is how an adult thinks and views the world, not a child. No way.
What Kate ROBS the kids of are ENRICHING experiences where REAL. LASTING memories are made. Girl Scout, Cub Scouts, gymnastics, soccer, football, yes trick or treating too. All of these enriching experiences that really matter to kids, Kate simply denies them. Period. Denial. Nyet. No soup for you!
What enriches Kate? Trips, and lots of them. A birthday in Vegas? Sure! A shoe collection that rivals Imelda Marcos? Yes! Monthy trips to NYC and Nobu! Nobu? Why not! Eternally tanned, mani/pedied, bleached and whitened? Of course, darling! Spending her days running and practicing yoga? Oh yes, and brag about it on Twitter because, you know, that's what busy mommies do. Just ask them as they run out of their house, harried and already behind at 7am, or ask them when they return home exhausted at 6pm while they're making dinner without a personal chef!
Kate denies herself very little and bitches about spending money on the kids ALL THE TIME. She never lets anyone forget how much of a burden they are. Cue the shoulder shrug, downturned maw and dead eyes that she does oh so well. Smug bitch.
I am so fortunate to have had a mother who wanted to give me enriching experiences during my childhood. No mansion, no private school, but lots of memories from ballet to Brownies to Girl Scouts (many bonding experiences with badges!) to tennis to swimming and diving to organ lessons...oh, lots of friends that I could hang out with and cousins too!
And the kicker? I never had to WORK a day of my childhood for it. That's the way it should be.
I think if she could turn the kids loose in the yard with a teenaged nanny and go back in the house to drink, she would love halloween just fine. It's the actual WORK she hates, she is just lazy. Sending the kids out trick or treating with hired help might look bad, so she wont do it.
As far a socializing goes, she likely thinks that mediocre children are too lowly and germ ridden to be near anything that has to live in HER house. But really, whether she admits it to herself or not, she is hiding the abuse. She doesnt want bruises or cowering or flinching to be seen, nor does she want the kids telling their friends that they get hit, pinched, screamed at, cursed, called names, get their faces slapped, get ridiculed, get portion controlled, etc etc etc.
Well, I am doing the neighbor thing that is traditional in my neighborhood. Around here it is the responsibility of whoever hears it first, to call around and announce the death. Then it is also the responsibility of the one next door to start the food thing and get that organized. So I am doing my part. I called a few, and I am making a rigatoni casserole, Jan across the street is making another casserole, Kathy on my other side is baking. So I got the ball rolling.
Got ground beef browning now for the sauce; also making HunnyBunny loaded potato skins for afternoon football. Busy Busy Busy!!! Fun Fun Fun!!!! Awesome Awesome Awesome!!!
Dwindle -- Speaking from experience. Neither of my parents had a viewing or a funeral, just a family grave side service, per their wishes. Food, cards, flowers or just sitting and letting me talk were all appreciated. I'm sure whatever you decide to do will be appropriate, because it will be from your heart.
Before I decided to drop my landline and go with cell only a couple of years ago, I had a pay as you go cell for emergencies, etc. It usually ran me about $30 a month, and the actual phone was less than $20. I just got my first iphone a few months ago, and it cost me all of $1. Yes, you read that right, $1. That was with the renewal of my cell contract. My service/data plan runs around $90 a month, but I got a higher data plan because I want to use my Kindle app on the phone and to read email when I'm away from home. Without the data plan, it would run about $35 a month. Those girls don't need an iphone with all the bells and whistles at their age.
Whoa Kate's looking fairly ragged in that photo. The lines are deep in her face now. Too bad there's no make-up trailer at these marathons where she can spackle some of those cracks before her photo is taken. It's catching up with her you can see it. She must be so pissed at Robert for digging in the trash and exposing her deep dark secret journal. No one was supposed to talk you see. She thought she had her ass covered with all those CAs she made people sign but oops, she outed herself in the end. Yeah you can run Katie but you can't hide anymore.
Dwindle, you're a good neighbor and a good friend, irl and virtual.
When my kids were 12, they went Trick or Treating for UNICEF. I went online and ordered the boxes. They both were more than thrilled to do that!
Steve Jobs had a home in a normal, though upscale, neighborhood because he wanted his kids to have a normal life and to be able to play with the other kids on the street. The Gosselin kids live in a gilded cage.
p.s. In our family, Halloween is just about dressing up- that's all. My daughter gets excited every year to go to a Thrift Store to find something that she can turn into a costume- at a very INexpensive price. She has managed to keep her costumes under $10. She's now 18 and still doing this. She has been Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Octomom-Nadya, that is- complete with 8 babies, a wind-up toy ala Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Last year she was a Toddlers and Tiara girl- an Ultimate Grand Supreme! These are just a few. The thrill for her is her creativity and she usually likes to make fun of pop culture. I bet Khate didn't even allow "her" kids to read Harry Potter! Years ago, John Travolta took his kids trick or treating in my hometown in NE Florida. He wanted his kids to have a normal holiday and no one made a big deal over it. Kate is just full of excuses and I cannot wait for the kids to speak up for themselves because I don't buy for a minute the things that Khate says the kids say to "her". The fact that they are so isolated is just sad! When my daughter was 8, she was traveling all over the state doing gymnastics competitions and she loved it! She was exposed to so many people and it was such a great experience. My son did Tae Kwon Do and he had so much fun doing that. Both of my kids are now in college and doing very well and I believe their past experiences with other kids helped make them that way- oh, and the fact that I NEVER used a wooden spoon on them!
You have to have a data plan. What a waste since Kate says the girls have no access to Google and probably very little of the rest of the 'net. Insurance is $10 a month too, although I doubt Kate bought that. Her insurance is that she knows if the phones are broken or lost, she'll klomp into the phone store and throw a tantrum until she gets a free replacement. Maybe Skeeve lays his creepy little claw on the poor clerk until Katie gets her way.
Kate doesn't spend one red penny unless there is some benefit to her. In this case, IMO she's bribing the twins. I think the 50/50 was a compromise in place of some of the kids wanting to live full time with their Dad. I also think the older and wiser they get, the twins were reaching their limits with Kate's horrible, selfish and absentee mothering.
When Jon and Kate separated and Kate was at the height of her fame, I think she thought that very soon she would get rid of Jon and maybe even get him to sign off on his rights to the children. I would bet my life he was presented with paperwork at some point regarding this. That may be a harsh statement, but I wouldn't put anything past someone who said on national TV that she doesn't understand why her children's father has any say in their lives.
Instead, she got nothing of the sort. She has to answer to a judge and be accountable for her actions. She has to practice self control and curb her abusive tendencies if she wants to keep up the facade of her faux brand.
Straight Talk has Droid phones with unlimited data, talk, text, for a prepaid $45 a month. Period. And you can port over your own phone by buying their SIM card if you want. Years ago we started my son with Straight Talk prepaid with just a $10 phone and their $30 month plan for talk and text. Eventually he took over the monthly charge himself. He is doing just fine in life at this point and could lock himself into any fancy phone contract he chooses, but he is still with Straight Talk, he got their high end phone and has their $45 plan which is unlimited for anything he wants to do. And my DD#1, the computer wonk, prefers the Droid technology to Apple iAnything, anyway.
There are cheaper ways of doing things than iThings for busy busy busy rockin' drag queen mentally ill mommas.
hmmm.... wonder why she did run out and do that? Reminds me of when HunnyBunny and I bought the remaining 2 teenagers small 13" TVs for their rooms and the following week my ex husband bought them 19" flat screens. hmmmm...
Oh, and here's my guess on Kate's latest version of her "good bra."
She ran the race in Wyomissing 9/7 and awkwardly walked that runway in NYC on 9/13. I suspect she then took a side trip to Dr, Glassman's office in Nyack and had her implants exchanged for smaller ones. This has to be done surgically, but it is much less recovery time than the original augmentation. Patients usually resume normal activities in a day or two and can go back to their usual exercize routine in 4-5 weeks.
I think with the confimation of the boob job in the book, she wanted to reduce them so she can say with that smug ass look on her face "do I look like I got a boob job?" Also, with her new skeletor frame, she was probably having trouble with clothes.
I doubt Kate would get rid of the girls. She's way too fond of those puppies. She's probably taken to breast binding until this whole book mess goes away. Then she'll pop them out again.
Dwindle: How sweet of you. I'm sure the family will appreciate it.
Re: Halloween.It won't be much longer before the tups will not go for dress-up clothes from home and stale candy , trick-or-treating the wrong day in their own basement . In fact I'm surprised if they'd be ok with that now, Getting a new ( used, made, whatever) costume id half the fun, and being with friends the other. Oh, yes, and fresh candy.
How bizarre when Cara went as herself with no costume.
I loathe Khate but I don't believe for one minute "she" had a breast reduction. I have always been well-endowed and I know there are minimizer bras. Also, Khate was wearing multi-layers that probably flattened the girls. Oh- and sports bras tend to flatten as well! It is what is is- just sayin'
I dont think k8 had a reduction. I think she lost breat tissue from her extreme diet. All that is left of the breast is the implant bag..hence why they now look smaller. The have slowly been going down in size as the weight plummets. JMO
Also..Disturbing how kate's answer to Colin feeling stressed and his taking his frustrations out on a highchair result in kate's deciding he needed to learn to control his anger by her BEATING him to the point she was scared she would truly hurt him. So Colin cannot express frustration but kate can express her's by injuring him and flinging him into his crib to stay for hours alone after a scary beating?
Im sure good old Milo and other kate fans have her defense already ready. It's lies..She was stressed...Colin should behave..Jon didnt help her so she snapped..kids need spanked...
Whtt makes me mad is that when excerpts of the book are released on Huffing Post or other sites they tend to make the book look silly by showing Kate's catering demands..or only lightly mentioned kids were "spanked" with a spoon. They do not even imply there were worse things in the book. It makes the book sound petty and makes people want to back kate for being victimized by a stalker.
Since almost all media is owned by just a few major companies..it is easy to control what is put out there for public opinion. No one wants to print the truth and risk a TLC lawsuit or lockout. The kids' true abusive will all be off topic and hidden in secret. kate was lucky to be under TLC's umbrella and that protection will continue forever even if they cut ties with her. They have too much to lose as accomplices. The story of how bad it got will never be picked up by mainstream media. NEVER. And since it hasn't the sheep will continue to believe it wasn't picked up because it wasn't true.
I wish instead of Robert warning kate via creepy twitter tweets and having that website countdown up prior to the book release, that he would have just stayed silent..then called TMZ and had a press conference reading the worst parts of the books aloud then announcing it was up for purchase today. That way people would have heard what the book really said before it got shut down. TMZ would have been all over that story and they have millions of readers.
Once again...Teflon Katie "wins." She is rewarded for child abuse with a sit down on WWHL where she can pander for a TV show in front of Bravo's Executive and an appearance with Katie Couric where softballs are tossed.
Im sure kate is cacking her head off once again. I am hoping this is the end of tv for her..but this book has dragged her back into the spotlight and there is renewed media interest lately. Even if it is far and few between.
PartK,
That is so sweet of you to take the time to reassure me. I felt so bad that I appeared snippy. I really wasn't.
Oh, another thing. How brillant would it have been for RH to read parts of the book - saying it was the words of a Gosselin parent.
The sheep would go nuts schreeeeching how Jon should be in prison. Media would pounce and denounce Jon. All would assume it had to be him. Then release the book and let them all see those were kate's word.
Let the words be heard without knowing whose they were. Then drop the bomb after the fallout.
Is she running in the next rock n'roll marathon in LA on Oct. 28? Might explain her lack of interest in Halloween this year. She likes to stay out there with Steve, so she might not even be home on the 31st.
I couldn't find the post above, but for the people wondering about receiving requests from Amazon for a review of Robert's book. This is SOP for Amazon. I think the notices to review must be automatic. The previously written reviews are still there. I wrote a review the day I purchased the book (I skimmed through it and then went back and read it in depth). My review is still in my account. I don't think it can be accessed by anyone other than myself at the moment, though. I'm sure if the book is returned to the sales "rack", the reviews will be there, too.
I went back to the old thread and found this:
Anyone with grown kids, I think the best gauge of what is really important is what memories they talk about. How often do they talk about their house or their school? Now how often do they talk about the little things like that fun Halloween one year or this or that fun, reasonably priced activity you did. Kids don't care about the best house or the best school. They care about everything else in between. All the sand in that jar full of rocks. I rest my case.
For CHOCOLATE SALTY/SWEET lovers, this recipe is a true winner, and you probably have everything on hand.
Super easy, VERY good, and she's not kidding about eating it all yourself.
I'll be giving it away as Christmas gifts this year, it's that good.
@Em- actually, I believe Khate's true colors came out on WWHL and I don't think it did anything for "her" whatsoever. That was clearly Morgan Fairchild's show and I wouldn't be surprised if the callers for Khate were pre-arranged! Plus, Andy took every moment to snark on "her". The fact that they did not play Plead the Fifth and the fact that the game they did play only required Khate to give a yes or no answer (even though Khate was trying to milk that)and then gave Morgan as much time to explain was just classic. The after show was even funnier-like Khate was tryng to audition but the look on Andy's face was a clear tell all. It was all very awkward and I don't believe Andy followed up on Khate's answers because he didn't want to give "her" any more time than he had to!
My "repeat" talks with my parents, the memories
we'd share often:
- Swimming team (going to out of town meets)
- Neighborhood friends
- Girl Scout activities and songs - Mom and I would sing old GS songs together when we were working side by side in the kitchen - Dad loved it and would come to the kitchen to sit and listen
- School stuff (I went to public schools)
- Church stuff (Youth Group, Sunday services, etc, but we didn't talk much about Sunday School)
- Sunday night dinners in the rec room, always soup & sandwich, then Dad and I would play board games - usually Chinese Checkers.
- Christmas Day when all the children were grown. It was even more fun then.
- Silly stuff nobody but we would understand.
My 2 sisters and my brother would give you their own lists, but they would be eerily similar to mine, I think.
Good memories are not bought, they are made.
Everyone in my family has modest, single family homes.
But we had enough property for a volleyball net, throwing the softball, running through the sprinkler, etc., my favorite memories around the house. My cousin's house was zoned for chickens. So we got that experience too.
All things that cost next to nothing and don't require a mansion.
TLC Stinks: you must have missed Kate informing the world on WWHL that she thinks she's the "only person who has DE-AGED".... Yeah, I need to sip some of that wine that she partakes each evening while reading here
As long as the press, school officials and legislators are not called out for using cutesy euphemisms like "spanking" or "Paddling" when they actually mean hitting a child with an object, child abuse will continue to flourish without being taken seriously.The words minimize the effects of the actions and make it seem almost OK to beat a child IMO.
Dwindle, how very kind of you to organize meals for your neighbors during this difficult time for them. You are such a Sweetie.
The picture in my head is The CHILD ABUSER/ANIMAL ABUSER Kate Gosselin beating her young children and her fans ( ENABLERS ) standing in front of her with their cheerleading outfits yelling " GO GO GO"!!!
How else can they defend this monster who beats not hits her own children!
For those ENABLERS ( fans) that defend her on twitter or here what does that make you????
Let's Throw Tomatoes
Can someone please tell Kate's neck that it should be de-aging?
The bonehead part of that scenario, where Andy puts up Kate's old photo and alludes to her looks changing a great deal, is that it had zero to do with how old she looked, it's that her face has morphed!
Does she get how she can't follow a simple conversation. Where do you go after the inane comment? How does one follow up knowing each answer gets stupider ;-) than the last!
The problem too with "spanking" is everyone has a different definition. In CA the legal definition is an open hand to the buttocks. But you might have one mom doing a light swat once, while another bending the kid over, stripping off their underpants and smacking them over and over as hard as they can. And it makes a difference in my opinion too as to why they were smacked. Did they deliberately run into the street after you told them no and nearly get killed? Or did they just innocently wet their pants without meaning to because they aren't potty trained? Big difference.
While I don't believe in any kind of physical force to discipline a child, even the lightest of taps, what some people may imagine is a light swat may be in Kate's eyes, truly a drawn out, hard beating. And that's scary, because how can you say spanking is okay without knowing exactly how it goes down for that particular parent?
Oh my god. The khate fans on twitter are really busy trying to prove what a wonderful mom she is. They really need to get a grip. I wonder how many of them have actually read the book. It also sounds like they have been over here, because they seem to be repeating what we are saying over and referring to us as haters. I think the few that have been here the last few days are the ones trying to start trouble on this blog.
This may not be about memories, but it is something that my son did in school for Mother's Day when he was 10. He is now 21 and I still have this on my dresser. Another began "I'm glad you are my mom when":
he finished with "you talk with me"
And the one that gets me choked up to this day-
"If I could grant you one wish it would be":
he finished with "Poppy could get better"
(My dad had been in the hospital for several weeks after getting an infection following surgery, and he passed away about a week after Mother's Day.)
My point is that my son did not write about anything of monetary value, or want to grant me a wish that we were rich and I could by him all the toys he wanted. He was content that I took care of him and his sister and took time to talk to him.
So yeah, kids don't really care about how much "stuff" they have or what kind of house they live in, they just want to feel loved and wanted.
Lauren, that is beautiful and so representative of how a kid really thinks.
It's really the adults who mess them up and teach them to value iphones, nobu, kobe beef, shoes and clothes, isn't it?
If the kids cared about their house, they wouldn't have been screaming like they did when Jon left, begging him "Daddy don't go." I think at the time he was just living in an apartment. I think Kate even said some of were in sleeping bags. They didn't care, they wanted to be with daddy.
By the logic of the kids have a house and a great school therefore they are not shafted, then it follows that anyone who doesn't have a mansion and a great school, is unhappy. That certainly isn't the case. Tens of thousands of kids live in modest homes and go to public school and have perfectly happy lives. Because it's all the other things that really matter.
Yes, this.
It's the child-rearing equivalent of saying "enhanced interrogation" when what you're actually doing is torture.
And to my mind, cracking jokes about "The Spanker" has a similar effect. It blunts the seriousness of it all. I enjoy kidding around, but I don't find anything funny about controlling your kids with a kitchen-utensil-turned-weapon.
Please understand: I'm not chastising anyone who feels otherwise, nor am I suggesting anyone else tailor their sense of humor to suit my sensibilities. Of course not. We're kindred spirits about child advocacy issues, but we're all individuals, with different personalities and belief systems. I'm just saying that it doesn't sit right with me.
And on a wholly different subject, my heart goes out to all those who've shared unhappy stories and/or are undergoing painful circumstances right now. I'm sending you all good thoughts, for strength and healing. May you be swaddled in peace.
I looked at the Spinning Wheel game and laughed at Kate's reaction to it. What I saw was her disbelief that calling out seconds was ALL she got to do. It was like they included her in this game only because she was sitting there. When it registered with her that it was about MORGAN's TV appearances, and that MORGAN was going to talk about them, and Kate was not going to be asked to talk about herself, she was flustered. "WHAT do you want me to do? That's it? Brother, what a dumb game. It would be more fun if it was "Where is Kate in this picture -
New Zealand, Alaska, Hawaii, Chicago? Morgan, do you think I can do it in 2 seconds? I have a memory like an elephant."
I'm sure she didn't get the rules down, but I think so much of her reaction was "why is this all about Morgan?"
I see Kate must be buying followers again. It keeps going up about 100 at a time. I know someone on here has been keeping track. Do we know how many new ones since the book came out?
Ladies, need some advice. We just found out that our next door neighbor passed away during the night. He had been very ill for a long time, kids are grown and the wife actually divorced him during the winter and yet continued to live there. It was a very odd arrangement.
There apparently will be no viewing, no services, no nuttin'. Still I feel like that I really should cook or bake something today and get it over there. I mean, isnt that what we do when a neighbor dies?
____
I went through this with my now-husband's mother (we were dating, not engaged, altho now are married).
They did not want a service/funeral/etc., but her death was very sudden and her coworkers were very upset, as she was a wonderful women and had worked the same job for 10+ years.
Two of her closest friends at work approached my now FIL and asked if they could hold a reception at her workplace. A few days after she passed, we all went to her workplace. They had catered food brought in, everyone approached us with their condolences (in fact, one of her friends told me that she had given me "her blessing" which meant the world to me) and a few people said some really nice things about her.
It was a very low key, respectful event ( less then two hours) and helped a number of people who really felt the need to pay their respects. The family did not participate in any planning ( I do not know if my FIL contributed toward food costs).
Not telling you what to do here, but just giving an example of how a similar situation was handled.
I don't consider the book not to be credible because I'm not putting that much weight in his comments. I can disregard his theories, his "baseless conclusions" because what I have read in Kate's own words trumps anything that he may write in any attempt to bring Kate down. She does that all on her own and I can very easily separate his analyses from what Kate herself has written. Her behavior as recorded through her own written words speaks for itself.
____________________________
I can too--and did. I was posing a reason it isn't being picked up by mainstream media because it reads so incoherently and in a ranting tone. That's all. It is a lot to ask of interviewers and their staff to pick through all of the commentary. There was a lot that could have been by formatting so that his commentary was easily distinguished from Kate's words.
I completely agree that Kate's words are enough to show her true colors--the rest is distraction. I have said, repeatedly, that no embellishment or theories are necessary--what we have seen and now read has already confirmed that she is a greedy, child abusing grifter. I think that some of the conspiracy theories gives her way too much credit as a mastermind.
Sleepless--I am in Seattle also. I guess our endless summer is over....
Speaking of pimping kids out, if you have Netflix streaming, watch The Hollywood Complex. It's about stage moms and dads who bring their kids to Hollywood for pilot season.
It's heart-breaking and infuriating to watch these idiots throw their money away to chase a dream that is never going to happen.
Paul Peterson does some commentary too.
Hollywood has no allure for me whatsoever. How a parent could drag their kid into a cesspool of grifters and rejection is beyond me.
I'm glad that no one ever took the bait that Kate put out there for Mady being a "Disney star".
It's an absolutely brutal life in an industry that is swarming with pedophiles.
I completely agree.
All of my boys are still in the house, so we'll have to wait an see what they talk about. Good and bad, lol.
When I think back to my childhood, what I remember are little things. I doubt my parents would even think they we memories worth remembering. I loved going to the gas station with my father. (this was during the 70's gas rationing) It was the only time I ever had my father's undivided attention. I have a vivid memory of my mother tucking me into my bed.
Little things matter.
I really do love the analogy of the big rocks in a jar, and filling up all the spaces in between with grains sands.
Yeah, you do need those big rocks in there. A child needs a home, food, basic comforts. But after that, it's all the little things, the grains of sand, that fill in the cracks. But you can't fill up the entire jar with just rocks, there will always be space in between. If a grown adult hasn't realized that by now I doubt they ever will.
I just now noticed Kate and how she really looks! Deanna, girl you are good! Without your help and I'll be kind she is not pretty! I'm older and my neck doesn't look like that ! For some of you guys who think she is pretty( and I'm not mentioning names) one question. Really???
OMG, heather. I am sooo doing that recipe. As Kate would say, "Yum!!!!!!"
There was a lot that could have been by formatting so that his commentary was easily distinguished from Kate's words.
**************
I didn't have a problem distinguishing his commentary from Kate's words, but I did find that the organization was very haphazard...an editor should have gone over the entire thing, organized it in a better format, perhaps chronologically, and deleted all of the repetition. I thought that including the journal entries, tweets, letters, so many times was very distracting. I'd read something, and then think...wait a minute, I read this twice before.
Granted, he's not a journalist, but if that was re-worked and reformatted, it would be so much better.
Tucker's Mom I too saw The Hollywood COmplex after I think sillimom recommend it. It's a must-see.
The industry is really quite a scam and they really prey on naive families. All of the kids featured were very talented, none of them made it.
I just now noticed Kate and how she really looks! Deanna, girl you are good! Without your help and I'll be kind she is not pretty! I'm older and my neck doesn't look like that ! For some of you guys who think she is pretty( and I'm not mentioning names) one question. Really???
************
I think that the neck thing is genetic. My grandmother has a beautiful neck, not a wrinkle or sag on it, so I'm hoping that genes do play a part in whether one has the "turkey" neck or not!
There's not much she can do about her neck, other than to have the whole thing lifted and snipped...same with the no-waist. It's the way she's built. She'd have to have a complete body make-over if she wanted to keep going with the California Barbie/Hollywood diva theme...
Just adding a recipe to the mix....easy easy easy! Buy the small waffle shaped pretzels and place them evenly on a foil lined cookie sheet...place one rollo caramel candy in the middle of each one. Place in a 350 degree preheated oven for 1-2 minutes or until chocolate is shiny...remove from oven and immediately place another pretzel over the rollo and press down. Cool and store in airtight container. Salt and sweet delightful ness!!
Dwindle & everyone: I'm Lutheran too, and never heard of this prosperity gospel: What it sounds like to me is a manmade gospel to justify things people do. Like Kate's new phrase: it is what it is, or simply put, I'm not explaining. A lameo cop-out!
Bubbles...you're the kind of mother Kate can only dream about being. You're an inspiration to your kids and they will surely appreciate it when they're adults. Keep the new clothes as you deserve it. Losing 60lbs. is a fantastic reason to get new clothes. Keep up the good work. Sad to hear you have to pay your kids grandparent to watch them. I watch my 4 year old grandson regularly and I can't imagine charging my daughter for it. I do it out of love and the pure joy of spending time with him. Also, so my daughter doesn't have to worry about childcare costs and she knows he's safe and happy.
I've been trying to catch up on all the posts as my husband and I spent a few days in the lovely state of NH hiking up a mountain and doing some relaxing (although, after the hike we did a three mile walk around a lake. Then we went back to the inn and took a two hour nap!) Yesterday was homecoming at hubby's college alma mater and my oldest daughter and her boyfriend were home for the weekend to attend the wedding of one of her hs friends. You definitely miss alot when you don't read the blog for a few days but it is nice to get away from it.
But also Kate using this phrase: it is what it is, leaves Kate open, for criticism, so Kate basicly digs her own hole.
Kate exaggerates to impress. All this garbage about "having friends who would die for her." Who says that? Need to impress much? It gets on my last nerve when anyone does it. There is no justifiable need to do it unless you are insecure. Too much like bragging to suit me. Comes off annoying and juvenile. Kate Gosselinish, do you think?
Prayers for your mother. It's scary and feels helpless but there are many friends here who are thinking of you!
I hope Robert has taken our criticism in stride. A more professional and crisp narrative would enhance the book sales and maybe be taken more seriously. There were so many nuggets but unfortunately I got distracted or bored by the repetition and his opinions. If not for her actual journal, what he wrote was of tabloid quality. I say turn it over to a real author and/or editor and make it a first class read and unbiased. That way you would eliminate the sheeple bleating that Robert has an axe to grind. He'd still be a co-author (and glad he dumped Al Walentis who turned out to be a back-stabber).
What I loved was how Kate said all her friends live out of state. Are those her friends on twitter she is referring to? I know Jamie lives our of state but i doubt she would die for her. I have plenty of friends that I have had since childhood. As close as we are I would never assume or expect they would die for me. The only people I would die for are my husband and children.
I agree Kate's face is sundamaged from all that tanning. My face is as well but I am redhead who grew up in the 70s. If sunscreen was invented we didn't know about it. I used tshirts, hats, beach umbrellas but at least twice wound up with a blistering sunburn and had countless other sunburns. I really am envious of people who don't have the lines I have at my age. Kate did it to herself though, knowing full-well the dangers of excessive UV exposure.
Oh, and I have had the same best friend since 4th grade and neither of us would die for each other. So over the top!
@ lukebandit - DONE!
'The Life before Her Eyes" with Evan Rachel Wood and Uma Thurman is an excellent movie about if friends will die for one another...it's also a book.
Lukebandit:
Best wishes to your mother. My husband went through the same(g/b with complications galore) this past winter- not resolved till recently, but most g/b surgery is pretty smooth.He's fine now and I hope your mom has an easier time.
EM @ 145, You mentioned TMZ in your post. Originally Robert had TMZ listed as a chapter or story in the book, but there was little there except for reference to a couple articles they published during the divorce. He also made reference in a post on here that there would be more about TMZ coming out. I'm wondering what that is reference to; did TMZ have a tie to something about Kate? Around the time of the divorce they stopped covering her although they continue to cover all things Octomom.
I'm just very curious about Robert's comments concerning TMZ. Did they find out something and get threatened if they published it? Curious.
