Tucker's Mom,

What restaurant? I love Cape May. Stay safe and dry.
******
There is a local reporter (DC) stationed in Cape May and she said 'someone just said that The Cove restaurant is gone:"
It's about as south as you can get in NJ. 10 feet outside the door is the Delaware River.
I hope it's not truly gone, but it's in a really, really bad spot.
There is a more local pier in Delaware that is gone. Already.
OMG, the pier in Kill Devil Hills is gone too.

Having gone through several catastrophic hurricanes, I empathize with the people in the path of the storm. I know it's very difficult to do but try to rest or, at least, put your feet up. I am a pacer during a bad storm and it drives hubby nuts. When the storm has passed I'm so worn out but we have to do all of the post storm clean up and deal with the insurance company. Please keep this in mind and rest a bit.

Hope everyone in the storms path stays safe and sound.

No. Not yet anyway. A portion of it has collapsed. Considering the surge will only get worse going into the evening, combined with the full moon high tide, Jersey Shore will certainly be a mess.

There is a picture of the Ocean Grove fishing pier being posted on various news sites. This is a picture from last year (Irene). The photographer is trying to have it taken down as people are copying it and claiming it as their own. One of Kate's twitches posted it last night and I tweeted her telling her to give the photographer credit and it was not her picture. Kate commented that it was a beautiful pix or some such nonsense still waiting to hear from my brother who is apparently being pounded on the Jersey shore.

I also have a rescue that I got about 4 months ago. Actually you can call him a rescue or adopted but I call him family!! My new baby has his little bad habits ( playfully likes to bite) but when I think about him living in the streets alone at 3, 4, 5 months old I forgive him!

I have it on very good authority (wink) that the last hurricane, the soldiers were ordered by their CO to get indoors. To a man, even those on rest time, they suited up and disobeyed orders. There were 5 of them out there all night. Said one guard to someone I love "I lost a buddy in Iraq. He'll come down from heaven and kick my ass if I abandon my post for some rain." But more than that, they knew that an event like this is the perfect time for someone to deface the Tomb. And they wont have it.

Hi Buttercup~
I'm in northern DE too...heard on the news a bit ago that the wind was so bad in Middletown that the trees were almost horizontal to the ground.
They are now saying landfall between 6 pm and 8 pm. somewhere in the southern NJ/Delmarva area.

Because of the low pressure of the hurricane (943 mb), this is supposed to be the strongest storm to come north of Cape Hatteras since 1938 so any of us under the age of 74 have never seen a storm of this intensity come to this area. Apparently, the low pressure (943 mb.) pushes the pressure from way down deep in the ocean up to the surface and causes the huge surges. Then to boot, it's making landfall at high tide in NJ and during a full moon.

They are already having to go out and rescue people out in the Barrier Islands who didn't evacuate in time.

Continues to rain here and wind picking up and getting occasional strong wind gusts. Just waiting for the power to go out. Every minute it stays on, I consider myself lucky.

Hi dee!!! Thanks for the info - this is definitely a scary storm. We evacuated my parents out of Rehoboth on Sunday (though we did go to the Sea Witch festival on Saturday so my 3 year old could have some fun!).

We are former Long Islander's and remember how bad Hurricane Gloria was in the 80's. We were without power for 2 weeks and it was horrible.

We're as prepared as we can be and believe it or not I'm telecommuting today.

The trees are being whipped around and even though my house is on a hill there is a substantial amount of water pooling at the bottom of our yard.

I too am counting every hour we have the power on as a blessing.

Stay safe everyone!

PS - if Milo is even wondering now about Shoka you know that it's looking dim for his prospects. I wish KK would just tell everyone either way what's happened to him. But she's KK so I don't count on it.

Apparently, the hurricane increased speed (128 mph) and is now only 100 miles offshore and predicted to make landfall between late afternoon and early evening (they are saying around 5-6 pm.) which would make it a couple of hours from now.

The good news is that it may miss high tide and depending on the exact location of landfall.....the rotation of the hurricane may cause the winds to be coming out of the northwest, which could help to push the water offshore a bit.

I can't believe we still have power.

Buttercup~we live in a neighborhood where the lots were landscaped to promote drainage so everyone is sort of on their own little hill, so to speak. Simply drains by gravity. We have never had water come into the house....though can get large puddles/little lakes on property and end of driveway (we have a few already now).

DE has reportedly already gotten 4-6" of rain.
Glenn (Hurricane) Shwartz on CBS out of Philly says the rain will be coming down almost horizontally for about 4 hours straight once it makes landfall.

She must have a pretty large place to house 55 chickens. That's a LOT of chickens.
Why does she need so many
We asked about the chickens, she answered. Of course she reads here!
*******************

Nah, by this time Wednesday some of them will be dead 'from the storm' and she'll need gift cards to Ann Taylor coz the children will never have an egg again. That will all make sense to kate.

Shoka is nowhere alive within her vision, with companionship and a roof over his head. She killed him or he was taken away from her. The fact that she refuses to answer even Milo about it is all the proof I need. One thing we have learned about Kate, if she cant come up with a sheeple simple lie, she just ignores it. NEVER shall the truth or a fact be blurted out of that woman.

We also know that what KK says and what is actually the truth are very often two different things. I don't believe that Shoka is inside (or even on her property) and don't believe she has 55 chickens. regarding the demise and plucking/cleaning of the chickens: she might gleefully kill them while making the children watch, but she wont pluck and evicerate them. She lives near Amish country and it's easy peasy to find someone to do it all for you. They'll cut them into pieces parts and package them up for you for the freezer too.

Remona is right, though. Her idea of 55 is probably more like 16. She lies lies lies. And it's a shame if she is denying those kids egg yolks. They are so full of protien and healthy calories that growing children need so badly.

What does that Gosselin statement, "They don't know how to help us" really mean?

There are so many twists and turns even still that it is difficult to believe anything out of Kate's twitter. There have been so many embellishments, lies, spins, and crap spilled out to the gullible viewers that all credibility is gone. Remember the story of the boy who cried wolf? Just can't believe anything, can we? Any other con-artist I ever heard about is probably in prison or living in another country by now. Not falling for the 55 chicken story or believing that their dog is even still on the property. Liar, liar pants on fire. Anything goes when you are addicted to seeking attention. Kate enjoys keeping folks hooked in to her scam. If the truth be told, I'd imagine that her family is mortified by her behavior. Thus, they are absent from her life. Can't get along with her, so they get along without her. Sad for the kids, but this is not the first family to experience this situation.

Anyway when I was very young we were still living in Texas my mom name home with the cutest baby chicks. I remember them being all over the back yard getting bigger and bigger.
One day I went outside and found my mom swinging the chicken by the neck. I started to scream and ran to hide behind the shed! My mom plucked the feathers off and cooked it! Even at 5years old I refused to eat my pet! I think that's when I became an animal lover!

But after hearing all this talk about Kate and a porno movie or wrestling, I think that Kate naked is more horrifying than my poor chicken !!

PS - if Milo is even wondering now about Shoka you know that it's looking dim for his prospects. I wish KK would just tell everyone either way what's happened to him. But she's KK so I don't count on it.
* * * * *

I am pretty sure that poor Shoka is gone but Kate doesn't want to come out and admit he's gone. We've had many dogs over the years, and my sister specifically has had German Shepherds (three). In only one instance, did we have a dog that "hunted" and it was a Boxer who was city bred and raised. When we moved to the country, he didn't know what to make of the open space, the chickens and the sheep. He did chase the livestock and couldn't be trained not to - so we found a good home for him with people living in town. It was very sad to let him go - he was a wonderful dog in all other respects.

When Kate would describe Shoka going hunting for wild critters on her property - it just sounded so odd to me. A dog that is properly fed will usually not hunt animals. I think the poor dog was so horribly uncared for, he could well have been starving which led him to look for food wherever possible. Given Kate's disturbing focus on limiting food, I would not be at all surprised to learn she limited the food given to the dog.

Anyway, her continued refusal to talk anymore about Shoka, post a picture for Milo, or otherwise acknowledge the elephant in the room, all points to Shoka having become ill and probably put down. At best, I hope she merely gave him up to a shelter or Humane Society, or back to the breeder, and a new home found for the poor dog.

I'm not convinced that the children are an actual part of what KK is doing. Something just sounds 'off' to me about the ROL thing.

Thanks to all thinking about us east coasters! I know everyone is focused on landfall of the eye, but this monster Sandy is EIGHT HUNDRED MILES ACROSS! By the time the eye out center of the storm gets there, torrential rains, winds, and flooding will already have happened!
From local sources: flooding scattered because of rain and high tides, anyone living near a creek, river, gully, not just the ocean needs to watch water levels. Remember, DO NOT DRIVE THRU STANDING WATER. You never know how deep it is, how fast the current, and if the road under the water has been washed out.
Y'all remember our virtual beach trip to the Outer Banks? Our house in Nags Head is ok. However, south of there, from the Oregon inlet Bridge for the next sixteen miles! NC route twelve, the ONLY road into Hatteras Island, is UNDERWATER. Sixteen miles of road is under the water of the Atlantic Ocean and the Albemarle Sound. Flooding at Buxton on Hatteras. At least one ocean front house in Rodanthe has fallen into the ocean. The island of Ocracoke was inundated. People on Ocracoke and hatteras islands are stuck there, there will be no transportation on or off until Tuesday our Wednesday. Only good news, NC dept of transportation went thru this last year with Irene and have emergency hatteras ferry at Stumpy Point (yes that's the name) all ready to go when wind and tide permit.
I just watched the NJ governor, I am glad he is not sending first responders out in the middle of the storm. When hurricane Isabel was approaching OBX years ago, for people who would not leave, sheriff deputies asked people to write their names on arms with a Sharpie, told them it was to help with identifying their bodies after the storm hit. You don't leave in time, stay put and stay out if the water.
I'm near Richmond VA and is rainy, windy, but doing ok. Friends in Norfolk are ok, scattered flooding there, some highways closed because of water. Communities up and down the Chesapeake Bay have flooding in low areas. Everyone in path of storm, stay safe!

Sadly I wish Jon had veto power but that's not how it works. Jon could hate it and protest as much as he wants. All Kate has to do is go to the judge and overrule him. Jon is again out a bunch of attorneys fees, money, etc only to lose again. And if all she wants to do is film a little pilot with the kids making a little cameo when they haven't filmed in 12 months, as long as THEIR part is safe and wholesome, their money is protected, they are getting their education, I hate to say it but I can't see any judge finding that unreasonable.

I think any filming of these kids PERIOD should be off limits after what they've been through but I highly, highly doubt a judge would see it that way. Judges, most of them, don't see themselves on the bench to dictate what would be the best possible course of action the best possible parent would take. That's just not the standard, for better or worse. It can be very frustrating when you, as a parent, do hat the best possible decisions made for your kids, not just "good enough" ones.
October 29, 2012 8:32 AM

Ha! Jon can't veto anything anymore! No matter how you word it, the fact is that Jon has no veto power over filming anymore; his greed got the best of him.

BTW Ask RH if Jon is still looking for his big break back into stardom.

My thoughts about chickens: Ms Kreider might have 55 chickens in her four freezers. If she has five living chickens I would be shocked. Because she doesn't have the sense necessary to care for a pet rock, let alone a living critter. Which is why I think the dog is not there. I actually have my doubts that any children are there. Remember RH says most of the tweets are lies. Just to clarify, I don't care if Ms Kreider less or not, she is so boring and despicable.

Kate alluded to something occurring the past few weeks, but it is safe to assume that the kids were with their dad and attending school during the same time frame.

Hoping everyone in the East is weathering the storm okay. Scary stuff on weather channel. I am almost ashamed of the beautiful weather we had today, and the irony was not lost on me as I went about my day.
Thanks to JoyinVA for the updates. I believe I saw the footage of the NC house being swept into the sea. horrible.

This is the quote from ROL that bothers me. It says THE KIDS HAVE BEEN FILMING, not just Kate. Hmmm...

*******************

My money is on the Kardashians. Kim will be supervising the twins as they bond with the Jenner teens over make up and push up bras and coochie skirts and how to work it, girl; and Kate will be filming something with Kris lamenting about their latest boob jobs, botox, facelifts, and the horrors of the media they each so crave.

Oh and the 2 main topics? life with reality TV, and Kate is horny. So, your basic Disney family programming. (and she'll throw out there how it is all Jon's fault they are stuck in boring PA where poor Katie cant find so much as a suitable burger flipping job.)

IF Kate is filming a dating show the kids will be humilated when she forces them to perform like so many trained monkeys for the "do the 8 like him or not?" portion of the show. I can't see any other type of reality show with the kids. They've lost that toddler appeal.

We lost our power for a little while but it came back on again....I can't believe it. I think we must be along the south wall because I'm watching the effects along the coast of CT so the north wall must be huge with most of the winds and rain. We're getting wind and rain but when the north wall cycles around to us....that's probably when it will really get bad.

I can't believe we still have power when I see the wind gusts out there. Wonder what time the north wall is due to cycle around to us. Wish I understood meteorology better.

Just watched Gov. Christie of NJ....he's apparently really ticked at the mayor of Atlantic City because he apparently told the citizens there they could stay even though they had been ordered to evacuate(?).
He said that he won't risk sending first responders there until tomorrow morning....too dangerous....and those in AC are on their own until then.
Boy, that Gov. Christie is great in an emergency.

Buttercup~do you still have power?

If I disappear for days....the power is out as I have no other internet access other than my desktop.

I've been watching the waytootall tree 2 houses up the street swaying back & forth over the neighbors' house (they have their cars parked under it!!). =:o
Hope everyone stays safe!!

This storm is proving to be incredibly fickle. My power is currently still on (knock wood), but family just a few miles away are in the dark. My boss lives close to the shore, and it sounds like his small town is experiencing Armageddon - trees down everywhere; 90-mph winds. He is hunkered down in his basement.

Other boss's sister had a tree fall and rip all the power lines off her house. The tree is blocking the road, but the police said not to expect help any time soon.

A large section of the AC boardwalk has been destroyed.

I feel very lucky right now. Peace and safety to all.

This is killing Milo and I feel sorry for her/him. Kate is such a bitch.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

It was all Jon's fault. He up -n- deserted a hot rockyin healthy cookin devoted momma with 8 count em eight babies and the dogs. How could she possibly manage all of that plus try to earn a tiny modest livin'. She tried, she really did but it was all just too much for super-her. And the reason she lied and lied and lied about it was because she was so overcome with grief about it all that she just couldnt talk about it.

And no matter what will out, Milo will concoct some big fantasy scenario about Kate interviewing prospective owners for Shoka, for months, agonizing over who to choose, driving hither thither and yon to do home evals, running expensive background checks on her own dime, and giving him away with a year's worth of free food and medical care to someone who owns a 1000 acre horse ranch. In downtown Pittsburg. So Kate can faithfully take the children to play with him every single Saturday. Milo will carry on for a Grow-a-Boyfriend's obsession about how devasted Kate was to have to give up the dog but she had to do what was best for her kids. Please send gift cards. #KateGosselinPetLoverOfTheYear

Last time a hurricane slammed into that area he and his wife came here to Ohio and stayed with us. Right now he says his room is high enough up not to flood, but not so high up he worries about the roof going. Power is out in the hotel, but the resturant/bar is open with candles and it's like a party. They are charging for liquor but tons of free food for guests.

------------------------
Boy, he has really been impressive during this storm. He not only takes control but he has that sort of personality that makes you feel he could be your next door neighbor....or the guy sitting next to you at a restaurant counter. I'd not been all that familiar with him since I live in DE and not NJ but I am hugely impressed. And he's been VERY visible for days and days....not just the past few days. He's been on top of this from the beginning.

He's got that kinda "big bear" quality to him and appears totally in control and handling things....but he maintains a familiarity with his audience that makes you totally believe everything he says. When asked questions, he's very spontaneous...doesn't hem and haw....seems like he says exactly what he thinks.

I've learned quite a bit about governing during an emergency just from watching him...and also Mayor Nutter in Philly....who's also done a pretty darn good job, I think. Be visible, be available, be in control, be reassuring but firm.

Boy, that's for sure. I saw on site reporters at AC with howling winds and the power was still on (this was near the Showboat Casino). The darn traffic light was dangling and swinging back and forth wildly....but still ON. I couldn't believe it.

And I still can't believe we still have power....it's just amazing, considering the way the trees are blowing out there. I keep expecting it to go off again any minute. I would have bet money yesterday that we'd be in the dark by now.

I really can't believe how lucky we've been!

Who is Kate supposed to be filming with? I just don't see Kim K doing anything with the likes of Kate. She's much too big a name right now, she doesn't need Kate dragging her down. I tend to think it's someone who used to be big, and is still well-known and in need of a paycheck. Could it be Pamela Anderson? She meets RH's description, she"s still a big name, and she doesn't have a current show and may be in need of a payday. I don't think she likes Kate at all, but if she needs the money, she may put up with her. Both divorced, about the same age, surgically-enhanced, famous (infamous?) moms looking for men. And Pam's in LA. Makes a lot more sense than Kim K.Kim K has no need or use for the likes of Kate.

All Kate has to do with the chickens is call a farmer(Amish) and he kills the chickens, cleans, packages and flash freezes it and returns it to her. That is what we do in Lancaster and upstate PA too. So she is saving on buying organic chicken by raising organic chickens.
Not telling anyone about the dog is about security. No one knows she has a security dog. This dog was never brought there to play with. The dog is for security purposes. There are many breeders in her area but they provide good dogs that are not to be played with and serve as security dogs. Don't expect Kate to talk about how many dogs she has. How does Robert know about Kate filming in Florida? The kids tell Jon and Jon tells Robert. So Robert puts that info on Gosselinbook.com

Yeah, that sounds just like him. Heck, I'm a democrat and I sure would vote for him now. Really, really impressive. I certainly have to give credit where credit is due.

Not real impressed with our governor during this.....and I think he's up for re-election this year too. Just can't understand why someone up for re-election.....not to boot, literally a week until the elections....wouldn't take the opportunity during an emergency like this to make himself visible. He finally showed up and did a presser today. Who knows? Maybe he was doing a fantastic job behind the scenes......but why he wouldn't take the opportunity to be visible the past few days is beyond me. Publicity like that would be better than any TV ads he could pay for.

I couldn't understand why almost every single state in this area had declared a state of emergency except us. In fact, the president declared us this morning. I'm sure there are financial reasons behind this....but here was little tiny DE, right in the line of fire and with every single surrounding state already declared....but not us.

I hate when people spell "whoa" like that........"woah". Is that an actual word?

Why must Kate be so cruel? Her games are sadistic. She knows full well the Shoka "mystery" keeps people talking about her. It is just sick. That 957th pink phone gorilla has glued to her ear is sufficient to snap a quick photo of the dog. If there.

Telling the kids they wouldn't be Gosselin's anymore if they didn't leave camping in Alaska, the Jesus wouldn't love them if they did this that or the other, screwing with their little minds every chance she got. For her amusement. Now she's at it again mentally torturing some of her most loyal fans.
