The dog rescuer and pit bull expert seen on Animal Planet says Kate's negative retweets about the breed are 'nonsense' and the oft-vilified dogs are 'very loving, very protective and gentle around children.'

Yesterday, Animal Planet star Tia Maria Torres spoke out in support of the breed, pointing to the nanny dog's good nature with children, and saying she would send Kate some educational DVDs on the dogs. Torres said aggressive and ignorant owners are responsible for attacks. Meanwhile, Animal Planet's web site has called the breed eager to please, faithful, enthusiastic friends and pleasant with children.
"Kate should know better than anyone what it's like to be vilified, what it’s like for people to say untruths about you," Torres said. "I would also like to know if Kate has had any personal experiences with pit bulls that she believes she is the authority on their behavior." Oh, snap!

Famous pit bull owners who also have children in the home include Michael J. Fox (who even gave voice to a pit bull determined to make it home to his family in the classic 1993 family film Homeward Bound), Jamie Foxx, and Alicia Silverstone, whose son Bear is 18 months old. Helen Keller also owned a pit bull.
Suggestion for Kate: Next time you have an issue with someone who is around your children, pick up the phone and call them and discuss it like grown adults. Leave Twitter and your fans out of it.

Don't know what the weather is like in PA, but on Long Island we've had snow instead of rain-about 3 inches right now. The roads are icing up and ice is sticking to tree branches. More power outages and several roads closed. Please keep those still affected by Sandy in your prayers.

Nothing here yet, thank goodness, but they've been saying "SNOW" since this morning...that it's knocking on the door. First it was to start falling 1 p.m., then late afternoon, then early evening. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. They were predicting three inches and ice pellets in Berks for tonight through early morning. But since she lost ALL of her trees last year in the Halloween storm, she shouldn't have anything to worry about (*snark*).

WTH! I was going to correct something and deleted. As I was saying, when I talked to my sister in the Boston area earlier it was snowing an 29 degrees. She couldn't get the car up her driveway. At the time it was 82 and sunny here and I made a point to let her know that! Haven't heard from my brother on the Jersey shore but hope that this front skips them.

imho. Milo is a very controlling personality very close to Kate's type, bully. She tries to come across as very nice, harmless, and beguiling with syrupy fake concern. Admin #65, I agree with you 100%. I've caught a couple of these shows in the past, and I could never understand why a mother would set her family up for this.
In the "private" confessional, the new "mom" is always complaining about how the house looks, the husband, and the kids. It had to be so difficult for the children and of the few episodes that I saw, the kids were unhappy. But at the end, the KIDS talked about how great this experience was. How many kids would talk like that when their mom is taken away and replaced with a stranger who complains about how things are run in their home? Can we all say scripted?

I can see how doing things differently could give older kids perspective and make them not take their real mom for granted. Totally off topic but I'm enjoying seeing that sweet little boy hugging his best friend every time I come to this post. I also urge you to google Helen Keller and her pit bull to see more sweet pictures of her loving on him.
When pulling one of those pics the other day, I suddenly got sucked into reading an online version of Helen Keller's autobiography. I tend to get sidetracked like that lol. That woman is incredible the way she describes what it was like to be isolated in childhood and how much she actually really understood. The movie version sort of portrays her as completely helpless until Annie Sullivan came along. Not the case, she had made up her own sign language, would communicate with her parents, loved outings and traveling, had a meeting with Alexander Graham Bell where she understood him and he understood her, locked and unlocked doors, was close friends with the hired help's daughter. Once she caught herself on fire being so curious about the fire she got so close. Sullivan of course helped her to function beyond her own little world, but it was evident how intelligent she was to spontaneously, on her own, make up her own sign language.

If Jon left the kids for a week with a celebrity who starred in and marketed her own sex tape: AGGGGGHHHHH! Call PA CPS! Kate would never allow this, he did this behind her back. This latest "Mom Swap" revelation is so wrong on every level. Kate left her 8 year-olds with a totally classless former playmate and a stange camera crew. Can she not see that she has once again set them up to be exploited in ways far worse then one can imagine? How could any mother leave her children so unprotected and to actually put them in a dangerous situation. She poses far mote danger to them than any pitbull. This is dispicable.
I think that a form letter to send to sponsors should be drawn up and ready to go IF this show is ever aired. It would be great if it could be linked to this site along with the list of sponsors. Child labor law was signed into effect on Oct 24. If this filming thing is true, they knew exactly what they were doing and filmed in the nick of time. The letter on CC explaining the firing says that "recent events" prompted the action. I wonder if they got wind of this and said no way, enough is enough:

Filming is a legal decision and a matter of legal custody. If the parents don't agree, a judge decides. There are countless decisions made for children in divorce that one or the other parent doesn't agree with or consent to whatsoever, from traveling to what school the children will go to, to situations like this what contracts the children will agree to. Often these little battles will clog up family law calendars significantly when parents get into stalemates.

Interesting that in the old days (like 6 months ago), when Kate would tweet her good nights, many fans would chime in, chat her up a bit before signing off. They're slowly disappearing -- I was looking for names of some of the die-hard fans from past days and they're not around anymore. Yes, they do adore and enable her :) There are many names, though, that rarely tweet to her now, although they did in the past. When the RH book first broke, they did some half-hearted support tweets but then disappeared. There was a time when they were on her feed giving her love tweets for hours every day.
Getting back to Kendra taking care of the kids and filming at the Gosselin house...imagine the stress those kids were under. They were told not to mention anything to their schoolmates, friends, teachers. And yet they were waking up to Kendra and a film crew and going home to them after school. How abnormal is that? Did Kendra go to their school, attend sports practice while their mother was in LA - and for sure at least C & M knew where she was since they were calling her on their new iPhones - taking care of a toddler after she'd been outed as a child and animal abuser.

I'm willing to bet there sure is a morality clause. Scott's no spring chicken. I bet CC has the right to veto any projects she wants to do and if she doesn't agree they can terminate her.

OK, I have a question. If the kids are in school from early morning until 4:30 or so, what is Kendra supposed to do all day? Admin - I've heard that the pay for filming a pilot is really good. And that even if the show doesn't air, the contract often guarantees some nice change. And then the celeb hit it big with a tv show. Wish I could remember who it was.

Jane, oh yeah I think actors are typically paid for a pilot whether it airs or not. If she's SAG they have to. She might not care so much of it airs, she got paid that's what matters.
It's the creators/producers who lose money when nothing ever comes of it. But I doubt Kate is producing this project. She's way too lazy for that. She just wants someone to tell her where to go and what time to show up. That's it.

I had a friend who did a period piece back in the 90's, set in 19th century Texas, and it sounded awesome and had a few big names you might know. I don't think it was a bad pilot, I just think it came at a bad time when networks were shying away from period pieces again. Not that we're back to period pieces being "cool" again with Deadwood and Boardwalk Empire and the like, it might have had a chance.

I think a major hurdle is going to be even getting this pilot picked up.

Is this rumor true? If so, it's quite possibly the most disgusting thing Kate ever did. The sex tape is available online, and you don't need to subscribe to any porn site to watch a clip of it for free. It is hardcore porn. The twins have internet access. If they did any googling on Kendra, it will come up.
I'm not sure Kate has a protective gaze, she couldn't even go outside with them on Easter. So much for worrying about "dangerous dogs" being alone with little kids.
Kids are safer with Kendra than Kate IMHO. I don't know that much about her but caught a few episodes of her reality show and she seemed to be a very loving mother. Her leaving her son in the care of someone she doesn't even know kinda throws that out the window though, even if a nanny was there.
Wonder if it was a shock to the Gosselin kids system being cared for by Kendra. I've never watched Modern Family but I did read the story. Computer's being funky again and can't copy your link. Wonder why the brother denies the abuse ever happened to her or her older sister. Some of the comments I've read say the Mom just has it out for the girls and the boy is the golden child.
It's not uncommon whatsoever for some siblings to deny abuse is going on even though others are reporting it.
Reasons include that sibling was never abused or never saw the abuse, or that sibling feels more loyal to their parents than their sibling so covers for them, or that sibling is in denial.

Do you know how old the brother is Admin? I didn't read that anywhere or missed it.
OT: I think a need a name name. I'm sick of the 8. Not in offense to the Gosselin kids but the offensive way Kate's uses them and the number.
I found it, the brother is 32. Her sister that was removed from the home and put in foster care when she was younger is 34 now.
The stylist says there was no abuse so it couldn't be true, puke. Sounds like they could be talking about Kate
Not that I approve of the whole "mom swap" premise, but I think I find it FAR more frightening that Kendra would leave her TODDLER with Kate than Kate leaving the 8 with Kendra.
We have heard nothing about Kendra being a child abuser and at least Ashley, who they know well was there.
Kendra's child is right at the age the 6 were when Kate was doing pretty bad stuff to them. If she would do it to her own kids, why would we think she would not do it to someone else's child if that child didn't obey her immediately.

First off, regarding "Mom Swap":
1) This sounds like it was a pilot episode? Or has it been confirmed the show has been picked up? Just curious if anyone knew.
2) Kate leaving the kids with Kendra and Ashley - I think Robert may have exaggerated the kids' response. I can buy that they perhaps didn't really get the point of the show, but as someone said earlier, they had Ashley, whom they love, to take care of them. They may have wondered who Kendra Wilkinson was but I'm sure they bought the "Oh, she's someone I know through DWTS."
3) Kendra leaving Kate with her 3 year old son - Okay, do you really, honestly think that the producers of this show, knowing the scuttlebutt around Kate, left her alone with a 3 year old? Do you honestly believe Steve would leave her alone with someone else's toddler? I'm sorry, but Kendra's son probably has his own nanny and his father was likely present. Kate phones her own parenting in when the cameras are on and walks away when they're off, leaving the raising of her children to nannies. What makes you think she'd go "Oh, it's alright, I'll take over. You can send the nanny packing for the week. I'll do it all by myself. I'm wearing my big girl panties, after all!"
Kate was there when the cameras were filming and when it was done, I'lm sure she handed the boy right back to his dad.
4) Did Jon have to approve filming? or "How could Jon allow this travesty to occur?"
Well, I'm sure Jon knew of the filming. However. we have discussed this topic in depth over the past few years and I was certain we had come to the same conclusion, i.e. it is not financially expedient for Jon to go to court to fight this. It sounds like it was a one time shoot for 7 days. A judge likely would have approved if he had contested it. Why should he waste his money when he knows he'll lose?
Again, just my opinion. I don't mean to anger anyone. I too am outraged that Kate is only capable of maintaining a media career at her children's expense. Fortunately the laws in PA are changing and there's nothing she can do about.
One other point I want to make about Kendra Wilkinson leaving her son with Kate - According to information online, Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett live in L.A. California. That means any filming done at their house was done with California Child Labor Laws in effect. So that means there was a set teacher present all through the shoot. Again, Kate was not left alone with Kendra's son.

The kids must have been pulled out of school to film this pilot. They woulldn't have enough footage if they were at school like they are SUPPOSED to be. Of alllll the "celebrities" she could have swapped with, she agrees to do it with a playboy bunny/sex tape/EX-(one of THREE at the same time) hugh hef girlfriend? Seriously, I can't fathom what kind of "adult" lives those children will have. Like some have mentioned, there will be the ones who will deny, but then there will be the ones who will totally be resentful of the childhoods they had...will blame EVERY issue, shortcomings, depression etc...on their childhoods. The older I get, the more I blame my mother for A LOT/MOST of my issues, only because I'm at the age she was when "stuff" was going on in our home. I KNOW I would have done more for my kids than she did if I were in her shoes...but she like khate takes absolutely no responsibility. And my childhood was NOWHERE NEAR the abuse filled circus show the Gosselins' childhood was/is/will be!

Also, since we KNOW that reality shows are not REALITY, I don't think that either Kendra or Khate were responsible for any care of any children. I think they were in set up shots/scenes/vignettes with the children involved, with the grown ups following a script - not sure if the kids were following a script (possible), or if the kids were SET UP ("you can't have your cupcake!") for reaction footage.
I agree that Jon probably was powerless to stop it, maybe that's how Ashley got to be there - "I'll go along with this IF....".
I am also a wondering if all 8 of the kiddos where there for the entire time, or if they filmed in groups (boys, girls, twins).
Can we agree that Khate presented it to the kids as a "we have to do this show so we don't lose our house, so you can continue at your school, so we have food to eat" decision?

The nanny or any adult in charge of the children mimics K actions and tone when dealing with the kids when K is not there. The house is chaos with her there, so it is when nanny is there. Why would they show respect and gentleness with them when it takes extra patience and time and care when you can just lose it and yell like K?
Pre-school and all teachers maintain routines and repect every day. It takes work and they do it. A Child close to me went to a school and I visited many times. Most 'things' were in their place, it was peaceful and the children thrived. I learned that a child didn't need every toy in the middle of the room to play. I learned and we do this today. One toy or book at a time, put it back when finished and get another. Amazing how easy that is to do. The children are not bombarded with all the clutter/noise/mess and they can concentrate on one thing at a time. They also learn how they help by returning their toy/book to it's place. Life is busy enough. Give them some simple guidelines, order and quiet at home (or at Grams).
And yes, this pilot will be totally scripted. You have 2 veteran famewhore reality tv "stars", they know what is needed for reality show "success". I wonder if Khate's production co. footed the bill? I wonder if she paid Kendra to participate or did Kendra put in half the $$ for this pilot?

Sounds to me that Jon tipped off Robert about the filming. How else would Robert know that the kids were told to keep quiet and were upset about strangers in their house for a week?
As far as Ashley, this proves to me that the RV episode was all scripted with Ashley getting angry and leaving. Admin, I thought that you had some contact with Ashley? Very disappointed that she is paid off by Kate to be involved in such a tasteless show. Shame on her. Maybe she thought it best to be a familiar face around the kids, but if she got paid, I find that not a good enough excuse. I bet the kids unloaded to Jon about what went on. I can understand that there was not much he could do to stop Kate. And thank goodness the PA law has been passed so Kate cannot do this again.

"For their own profit, defendants purposefully, intentionally and knowingly caused severe emotional and psychological harm to a fragile 15-year-old," says the Manhattan Supreme Court suit, which also targets ABC and RDF Media.
The show features families swapping mothers.
Alicia Guastafarro, now 18, was so wounded by "incessant verbal and physical assaults from her peers," the suit says, that the former honor student had to finish high school in a special program.
GUASTAFARRO Says she was ridiculed.
And while the show claims to be reality, many of its sequences were scripted, the suit alleges.
The former Little Miss Buffalo said she was instructed to pretend to get a "Christmas present" every morning, to angrily return her cereal to her mom and to repeat such lines as "I am the most popular girl in school."
She adds that penalty clauses in her contract "prohibited and discouraged" her from explaining her behavior and that while her mom, Karen, got $20,000 from the show, she didn't get a dime.
The show's producers declined to comment.

The only thing that kind of stinks about hearing about pilots around here is that some of them you actually wanted to see but can't!
I had a friend who did a period piece back in the 90's, set in 19th century Texas, and it sounded awesome and had a few big names you might know. I don't think it was a bad pilot, I just think it came at a bad time when networks were shying away from period pieces again. Not that we're back to period pieces being "cool" again with Deadwood and Boardwalk Empire and the like, it might have had a chance.
Bummer!
I think a major hurdle is going to be even getting this pilot picked up.

Did ya ever hear the story about Hill Street Blues? No one would pick it up, they were shopping it all over the place and no one wanted it. So one of the actors, Charles Haid, took the film of the pilot and barged into his cousin's house on a Sunday afternoon. Cousin had a houseful and wasnt too keen on watching this film, but they were pretty close cousins (their moms were sisters) so he did sit and watch it. Cousin loved it and put his considerable Hollywood weight behind it.
Oh and the cousin? Merv Griffin.
Hill Street Blues went on to break records for Emmy Awards; but at first it couldnt even get a viewing. My point is, it aint easy I guess.

I think that the kids were probably told to "act out". How interesting would the show be if the kids acted like good little robots always smiling and sitting on their line? Eight kids acting out would make a much better show.
Vanessa - I don't think that SK8 is funding this. I think it's probably just another version of Wife Swap and it's being done by the same production company that does that show.
omg, I did think of Kendra when RH made that earlier announcement. Kendra seems to enjoy regular family life and adores her baby, but one foot is still in the Playboy house. I don't understand why her husband is so okay with this...as for this pilot, you can be sure M and C will google Kendra and/or friends will tell them who she is/was. Jon agreed to this? Kate is really a bad mother, even without her past.

First of all I don't believe that she hugs and kisses the kids goodbye...we've seen pictures to the contrary.
Second, if there was a 'thumbs up' from Alexis it was probably becasue she's happy to be escaping to the normal life of school.

What they went through with the filming is bad enough. But the airing of this debacle will only be worse.

And at the end of it all, Kate looks just a bit off camera to That Special Someone, dabs her eyeball, and says "I am so loving and fun and kind and I really wanna get laid now - er, I mean, have a dating show now. Sniffle. Dont I DESERVE a dating show now, after I just showed you how fun and loving I am?"
And it's a win win for everyone except Jon's kids who come out looking like wild monsters who cant do anything right without The Spanker.

With all of the sources that Robert has in his area, and with kids not being able to keep quiet and letting things slip, I don't think that Jon is Robert's only source of information.

I don't know I think that's really unfair. Ashley with her experience on sets and with this many kids could get a high paying job as a nanny for a wealthy Philly family in a HEARTBEAT.
I think Ashley truly does care about these kids and I tend to give her the benefit of the doubt that she knows if the kids have to film she would rather HER watchful eyes be on them than some new nanny.
