Redemption

Dancing With the Stars' Tony Dovolani won the biggest prize of them all last night with his partner Melissa Rycroft. When asked on Jimmy Kimmel about Kate Gosselin, he said: "She's a sweetheart. I'm sure she voted for us." Kate tweeted her congratulations late today.

To Working Woman. Be kind to yourself. Take a deep breath and remind yourself that you can overcome this setback. We all have them and I know it can be SO overwhelming at times. But you CAN do this. Just don't continue to beat yourself up about it. Life is too short. I wish you the very best and please talk to us any time and maybe we can walk you thru a rough patch. :)

Working women, Pink is so right. When I have tripped in life I found that learning from it took away it's power over me and gave me the courage to move on and not fear it. Any learning is knowledge and knowledge is strength. Strength gives us the power to overcome the fear.

I will remember you in my prayers. God bless and give you knowledge and strength over the fear.

Gigi 198 - Oh please. I make bread using my kitchen aid mixer. It takes me 5-10 minutes to mix everything and knead it then 1 hour to rise (I helped the kids with homework during that time today) another 5 minutes prep time punching it down and dividing it and then 30 minutes second rise (while I ate dinner) and then roll it into French loaves, put it in the pan and let it bake.

So for fresh made bread from scratch I spend maybe 20 minutes total time in the kitchen. I've had a bread machine and it only saved me 10 minutes max. I prefer hand baking because I can shape the loaves any which way I choose. I buy sandwich bread but like to make French bread for spaghetti night or if I need croutons like I do tomorrow for a chicken Parmesan soup recipe I'm trying.

I don't think it's bad to have a bread machine but I agree, it's no big deal. Whether you make it or buy it it's all bread.

Yes, they manage it because they must manage it. They have no choice. There are no nannies, cooks, housekeepers or babysitters. When they come home from their shift, they have everything to do that Kate claims caused her exhaustion. The difference is that they are exhausted before they even begin their work at home. Kate wakes up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to start her day.

I think she said something like "it's been circling around" about Michelle Obama. Yeah, circling the drain you mean??

Baw-haha. Classic.

It's all part of her self importance and hiding the real truth talking in these passive tense ways. The idea has been discussed is so vague. She's not really lying. After all SHE discussed Michelle Obama and SHE discussed London even if no one else did. "It's been talked about" isn't a lie. It makes her sound important while at the same time not lying. For someone who lies so much, she sure is careful to play with words.

I've been reading some of online articles about their win and wanted to share just a few things that were said regarding Kate as his partner.

USWeekly.com said: (in part) "For Dovolani who's had nightmare partners including Kate Gosselin and Wendy Williams"...

TVGuide.com said: "Without mentioning names, it was pointed out to Dovolani that he's had his share of "challenging" partners in past seasons (Cough, Kate Gosselin, cough)."

Wetpaint.com said: "Just last March we were begging the DWTS producers to give pro Tony Dovolani a partner he could win with, after making him dance with the likes of Kate Gosselin & Wendy Williams since Season 2".

This is a viewer comment (in part): "They always give Derek partners with potential, while Tony gets those who can't dance a step, i.e. Kate Gosselin".

And this was a comment made by Tony during one of his interviews: "I love my journey...thru the good times and the bad times. Anybody's whose followed the show knows I have had my challenges."

Not that this hasn't been said a million times, but wouldn't you just be mortified that Tony wins and yet all anyone can talk about is how much you sucked when you danced with him?

Tony has had 15 partners. Fifteen! And Kate is the one they keep naming. She wasn't even his worst partner, there were worse. But she was the one with the worst attitude who didn't even try. Even Wendy Williams tried.

"Nobody Likes a Narcissist has left a new comment on your post "Kate says kids tell her "We Need a Daddy!"":
Robin said...
...........What exactly does she have to do right now other than some laundry and prepare meals for her family? It's not like she's out driving the carpool or going to watch a soccer game or mowing the lawn or going to work or volunteering or changing diapers or breastfreeding or doing any of the time-consuming things that every other mother in the world is doing right now.

=====================

Funny that you mention that, because I was just thinking something like that recently. Try being in a house with just four kids, but all at different stages. I am truly sick to death of Khate complaining about how hard her life is because she has eight, count 'em eight kids. She thinks that makes her supermom, the bestest mom ever, nobody has so many kids and therefore, as much work as she has.

Bull! At the ages that Khate's kids are now, I actually think she has it EASIER in many ways than families with four kids or more. Khate's kids are all old enough to brush their teeth, get dressed, put on their shoes, clean up their toys, grab themselves a snack, set the table, clear the table, etc. Most of all, they all occupy each other playing. Try having four kids and it goes like this: while mom is breastfeeding a cranky, teething baby, the toddler is whining and being difficult because his does not want to take a nap, especially since he older two siblings are having fun running around in the back yard. Oh and don't forget, one of them has piano lessons at 4 and the other has a soccer game at 6. Better think about what you're making for dinner and get a start on it that soon too. .......

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Part 2:

Also, let's not forget the school year craziness with all the homework, book reports, projects, and special days that require you to send something into school or go to a special assembly, recital, concert, or party. With four or more kids all in different grades, well, it's crazy. Plus, who has to go to piano, dance, gymnastics, basketball, track, soccer, baseball, etc. Every day after school, it sure is a pain having to check the backpacks and homework of kids in four different grades. Make sure kid A studies for his science test tomorrow, while kid B needs help with his math homework, kid C's book report is due in two days and he hasn't even finished half the book yet, and kid D needs to be quizzed on his spelling words for tomorrow. Then there's the notes from the teacher, or principal, or the PTA, about a certain upcoming event or party at school, a request to send something in. Plus, maybe you're an involved parent (unlike Khate) and you're the one volunteering and organizing events and parties, which requires a lot of running around picking things up and a ton of emails back and forth with the other parents as to who is doing what.

I could go on forever, but I know that the other parents here completely understand, Khate has eight kids in two different grades. Plus, the six are all in one class, aren't they? If that continues, it will be a lot easier for Khate than dealing with several different teachers, all assigning different homework, projects, reports, and tests. I wouldn't be surprised if that's one of the reasons that she will continue to insist they remain in the same class. Are the twins in different classes? I don't remember. There's a family with triplets at our school and for a couple of years they were in the same class, but then the parents decided that they would be better off all in different classes so they could become more independent and develop their own friendships. While it was better for the kids, it ended up being more work for the parents, for some of the reasons I've mentioned.

I won't even get into the fact that Khate has so much help and no real job. But she's always so busy, so tired, and so exhausted. Give me a break!"

fidosmommy said...

Believe me when I tell you I am not a dancer by any means; any "dancing" I do is done with blinds closed and nobody around. I do it to
burn off some energy. I do not go to any public place to dance and I most certainly would not do it if there were cameras anywhere around to send the spectacle worldwide.

That said, Kate always looked to me like her final performance was actually her first practice. She was looking for cues from Tony about what to do next, moving her arms around strangely, and not quite getting any flow to her
movements. Day one, hour one of a new dance
routine.

Those who move ahead in the competition may not have all the steps right, but they step out with confidence. They kick and twirl and jump and swing messily sometimes, but they do it without hesitation and with lots of enthusiasm.

I had a boss once who used to tell us "Do something, even if it's wrong". I think most of the dancers do lots, make mistakes, but look good in their efforts. Kate did nothing and looked pitiful and laughable.

She even messed up the cherry picker thing, not knowing where to go or what to do when she got up there. Truly a disasterous moment for her.

Then, Jason decided he'd rather marry Molly, the other woman at the finale. So, he broke up with Melissa and got the ring back, and went and found Molly. Molly and Jason are still married and just had a baby recently. While those 2
were happy homemaking, Melissa went on to be a Bachelorette and other things. She's getting around and building a career for herself. That might be because she's gorgeous and then again it might be because she's got some talent in there. And a work ethic. She's married with a new baby now, too.

Last night I blew out a candle and the wax splattered! OMG the big blob looked just like Kate and she was surrounded by 8 sparkly little blobs! OMG! And the starlight shone all around them! OMG!

--------

OMG it's a miracle!!! Call Sothebys and get this sucker auctioned off and send the proceeds to poor, starving Kate who has to grift for gifts for herself and her kids!!!!! Were there any tiny, tiny dots? Miloish looking?!!!!

44444444444444

Well, when I scraped the Kate-blob off the table, the underside of it had green gooey blobby stuff (those are the technical terms, I can put in sheeple-lay-language later in case one of em baaaas in this direction), but the gooey blob was stuck firmly to the backside of the Kate-blob. As I was scraping it off with concentrated rumspringa, i thought it was trying to roll around on the table and digest the eight little blobs, but perhaps I was just overcome by the... excitement... of it all.

Anyway, I was going to try to save the Kate-blob to put on ebay, (the teeth alone were probably worth a bidding war!) but the dogs attacked it, ate it, and I am pretty sure it is steaming in the back yard somewhere right now.

OH LOOK! Shoka is doing a happy dance... wonder what that is all about? (I think Shoka is in a shelter somewhere and Kate will keep pretending he is with her up until he is adopted elsewhere.)

If she spent $200 on a Kiehl's order, then all that ooing and cooing over her 'gift' is bogus; if Kiehl's sends thank-you freebies with all orders, then Our Kate is just a regular customer. There's companies that would bite at that, it's just a fact that some companies pay people to tweet advertisements for them, I've read that the really big names like the Kardashians can make huge bucks off one tweet.

Twittering that's great and reminds me of another story I just heard. A Minnesota hospital delivered 19 baby boys in a row, a statistical fluke. The 20th family had a baby girl. The father of the baby girl felt bad for breaking the streak. He bought all 19 of the families before him 3 month supplies of diapers.

What a random act of kindness those families I'm sure will appreciate.

I think it's partly about Tony's win but more that she needs the interaction on Twitter to keep her (in her mind) relevant. And to show to any potential employers that she has 8,888,888 fans.

The non-fans really do need to keep quiet. I'm disappointed in a few that keep stirring things up. I could see getting active on her feed if news broke about RH's book or more child abuse allegations. But hounding her about makeup --- let it go.

My daughter was happy to see him wearing them again this year.I felt proud she did this- people can be so callous...or so kind.

People never drank gallons of soda, bags of Doritos, dunkin donuts, fast foods, candy by the bagful, etc.

Food was prepared fresh and simply at home.

Even fast food 30 years ago was OK to eat. It was small portions, made fresh daily. Taco Bells actually mixed the meat in each store individually, fresh each day, versus premixed frozen crap that is reheated for consumption today.

There is a huge difference in the QUALITY of the food that is sold today versus what people ate 60 years ago. There is no comparison. Which is why organic foods are now a huge, fast-growing market. People are finally waking up to what corporate agriculture has done to our diets and our health.

Garbage in = garbage out. Good food in = good health in general.

Admin #118, I agree with your comment. Back in the 50's, 60's, and even the 70's, my great-grandma, grandma, mom, and aunts, all cooked a lot of red meat. We ate read meat at least 4 times a week. They cooked with lard, lots of butter, thick gravies for meats and potatoes were the norm, as well as whole milk. Everyone also drank a lot of soda as there were tons of soda commercials. Lastly, cigarette smoking was also more acceptable then, too. There were commercials all over TV for cigarettes and the main characters in popular shows were shown smoking: Andy Griffith on his show, Dick Van Dyke, Desi and Lucy all smoked on their shows, even the characters on Dragnet and FBI.

I do think we are more health conscious now than when I was growing up.

I have no issue if she wants to spend $200 on body cream (not a choice I'd make personally - I use Suave Advanced Therapy for about $5 and it lasts me a good month) but then I don't want to hear about how it's too much money to take the kids to the movies or to a local theme park etc. etc. I don't want to hear her go on another talk show and discuss how she desperately needs a new tv show because she has 8 kids to put through college.

That's what her fans don't get. I don't begrudge Kate spending money, getting $500 haircuts and colors, visiting the tanning salon, getting mani/pedis, shopping at Williams Sonoma for her kitchen tools, buying clothes at Ann Taylor Loft. Again, not the choices I would make and before anyone says I'm jealous my husband and I are in the 6 figure income bracket (lower end but still 6 figures) so I could if I wanted and we have 5 kids. (I just would rather invest for retirement, put kids through school, give my kids opportunities to grow and learn and give back to my community rather than blow through our nest egg. But that's me)

No, gentle Kate fans, I begrudge her doing all those things and then turning around and accepting gifts from her fans and complaining she has no money to do things with/for her kids.

We always had soda in the house and it was never forbidden, but we rarely drank it with meals. Once a week, usually our Saturday lunch, we'd have hamburgers or hot dogs or grilled sandwiches of some kind, and we'd have soda if we wanted, but I usually drank milk or, when I got older, iced tea. My parents usually drank coffee or my dad had iced tea. That may be one reason I don't care much for soda now. It wasn't forbidden, but it wasn't pushed either. I much prefer iced tea (unsweetened and without the lemon, thank you) nowadays. I don't remember the last time I had soda with a meal, or any time, for that matter. Too many sweets, too much of anything, is bad, but I think we cause a rebound and make people crave the "forbidden" foods. Instead of telling kids they can't have a cookie, or cake, or ice cream, or candy, allow a treat occasionally and, IMO, they're less likely to pig out on it when they have an opportunity. Moderation in all things.

lol! So you gave that up as you grew up! My kids seldom drink sodas. Not that it's strictly forbidden, but it seems that they've never really had a taste for it. They never wanted juice when they were little, either. They still drink two glasses of milk (non-organic!) with a meal, and if we're out, they'll just ask for water with lemon. It saves on the cost of the restaurant bill, not to mention the savings at the dentist! I still can't get over how much juice Kate's kids drank. Of course, it was free, but what did it do to their teeth?

How did they do it without all of the collagen-boosting, secret organic ingredients/herbs of the natives of the South Sea islands, bio-scientists' ten-year anti-aging experiments? My grandmother had flawless skin, no turkey neck, no crow's feet. I remember her using witch hazel and Palmers (whatever that was) and sometimes Ivory soap and Nozema.
____

Because they ate a clean, fresh diet that did not include processed foods.

Eliminate processed foods (which all contain GMO corn and sugar/HFCS), increase your intake of fresh fruits and veggies and see how your skin responds after three months.

I think Kate has plenty of money. The kids have plenty of money. It's just 'not enough' according to Kate. There's 'never enough' with her mindset.
If it's one million, ten million, or a billion..it's just 'not enough'.

Heather I say this with such respect because I like you and think you are a good poster. Can you please move on from the organic food topic? We get it. Sometimes you even post about it when it has nothing to do with anything. It's tiresome especially when some of what you say is so inaccurate and you want to respond but don't want to make you keep going on about it. Thank you.
___

My response to this is that I can assure you that I don't post misinformation.

You have to look beyond MSM/current practices for what is true regarding nutrition. For instance, after certain surgeries, in the hospital they give patients Jello and diet soda. Do you really think that is healthy for a person who has just experienced trauma and is at risk for infection?

I only mention nutrition when it is appropriate, and in this case it was a mention of how pretty our older relatives skin is. In that case it really is relevant. Cut the garbage out of your diet and your skin will improve.

Yes, I know dermatologists say that no food affects skin. Does that make ANY sense? Food affects your entire body, your heart, liver, lungs, nails, hair, stomach, etc., but somehow your skin is immune? Add in the fact that they make no money if you refuse to see them and buy their drugs/products/prescriptions.

And I say this with utmost respect: Do your own research on nutrition. Understand how foods work in your body. We have been fed a lot of misinformation regarding nutrition (no pun intended). A lot of the truth is hard to find in MSM because they are paid by advertisers who have a need to sell you a food product.

What has been happening is all the research is pointing us BACK to the way previous generations ate. All regular, full fat REAL food. Fresh food. Smaller portions. No chemicals/hormones/steroids/etc. That is a healthy way to live. (Margarine is one molecule away from being plastic, butter is much healthier for you. This is a nutritional fact from a biochemistry standpoint. Research butter, corn oil which has been promoted relentlessly as being health, and omega-3s -- butter is HANDS DOWN healthier for you.)

I only post because I care. I want people to be healthy. So many on this board have posted of health issues, some of which can be greatly improved by simply changing eating habits!!!! And so many make fun of organics simply because of Kate's obsession, which makes me want to cry. If you really understood the harm of GMOs, you would throw out the foods in your cabinets today, I have no doubts about that.

Don't believe me -- investigate it yourselves. PLEASE. Two very good documentaries are Food, Inc., and Genetic Roulette.

heather

P.S. I saw an article yesterday that claimed Ke$ha is a great role model for girls. Do I believe it? Not for a second. There is an agenda there. Same with health articles.

I wish, though, I could explain my grandparents' steady diet of everything unhealthy, including red meat and pork (NEVER fish, seldom chicken), gravies, cooking with lard and butter, heavy stews, rich desserts, almost everything that isn't good for you (typical PA Dutch tradition) and yet they lived into their 90s, with no skin problems, and beautiful complexions. They didn't run, there were no treadmills, and very little exercise (they were factory workers) and they weren't overweight. They never heard the word, "organic."

Were they a fluke, was it genetics? Their parents, my great-grandparents, lived on the same diet and both sets of them had very long lifespans. I guess I'll never know...

The absolute best toner, moisturizer, firming agent and contouring facial that you can use is to separate an egg white, whip it up, put it on clean face and let it dry about 10-12 minutes (you won't be able to move your face), rinse with cold water, and pat dry. You will see and feel the effect immediately.

Science has identified a longevity gene- if you have family that lives past 80 in each generation, then the gene runs in your family. My family has the gene. My family lives into the 90's and 100's. The earliest someone died was 78 and she was really sick. The next young was 85 and he succumbed to type 2 diabetes, he refused to take care of himself and held on 10 years after the doctors said he would die. So, it doesnt matter what we eat, long life is in the cards, we have seen it over and over, for generations. Genetics plays a huge role. Not the only role, but it is a major factor.

So, it doesnt matter what we eat, long life is in the cards, we have seen it over and over, for generations. Genetics plays a huge role. Not the only role, but it is a major factor.

-------------------

I was really curious about this since I posted earlier, and so I got out the old family Bible that dates back to the Civil War era. Nearly all of my ancestors lived into their 80s and 90s. My great aunt was 104 when she died. All of these people were from PA Dutch stock, Germans, where rich, fried and fatty foods, red meat was their standard diet. Of course there were the sad cases of babies who died in infancy, but among the adults, the youngest death I could find was "seventy years and two months." With statistics like this, genetics must play an important factor.

We went out to dinner tonight and I had a salad with grilled chicken. I was thinking about the diets of my grandparents and it hit me that I never saw any of them ever eat a salad, other than dandelion from the meadow, with hot bacon and egg dressing (in the spring only). I often wondered how much of the cow poop really got scrubbed off that dandelion that they ate.

Something worked for them. They lived healthy lives on the only diet they ever knew. I'm amazed that their arteries weren't clogged with fried scrapple and maple syrup.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I myself am skeptical of any absolute statements like inorganic food is the reason for all our troubles. There are so many other factors not to mention logical fallacies. For instance, are we getting sicker, or do we just happen to live a lot longer now which results in more time and opportunities to get sick? I'm not asking for opinions on that, I'm just pointing out some logical fallacies. Another common one is, are kids really getting X and Y disease or disorder more frequently, or are we just getting better at diagnosing it which results in more reports?

I think the issue is complex and I don't mind thinking about it and hearing about it sometimes, other times I'd rather scroll.

I do believe in the heavy role of genetics....I also think nutrition and so on might play a much bigger role for some people than others. For instance someone prone to heart disease may benefit tremendously from a good diet. Whereas someone with a heart as strong as an ox can eat whatever they want their whole life and it won't matter.
