The result is not the same, in my opinion. A childhood of reality, of adult concepts, of no magic ever, is not the same as a childhood where your imagination is allowed to be free and you are allowed to live in a fanciful world for a brief moment before you have to join the rest of us dull adults.
All I can say is thank God the people in my life, family and friends, don't keep bringing up this or that little transgression from three years ago that has never been repeated again. That would suck to have to live with people like that. *****************************************
If we're never to criticize Jon again or remember all the things he's done wrong, just call this the Kate blog then.
On day 8 I'm going to to join Joy in her happy dance and crank up Psy on the iPod and dance Gangnam Style in my living room. I'll even open the front blinds and dance as if no one is watching! Dance on Joy!
I'm not so sure about CC sponsoring her for LV. I know they were originally sponsoring her for LA on 10/28, which she did not run.
However, since LA was so close after her termination, they could have agreed to pay for LV instead, as long as their name was not mentioned. It's also possible they had already given the funds for the LA trip to Kate before her firing, and decided not to ask her to return them, and she used them for the LV race.

There are four simple rules to follow. Not a single one of them asks anyone never to criticize Jon again or remember the things he has done wrong. Thanks for trying.
Just finishing up watching Baby Peggy: The Elephant in the Room. What a horrible childhood she had, having to work to support her family really scarred her. It's just tragic. She learned early on to separate herself from Baby Peggy, she was who she was and Baby Peggy was someone else...
OT Santa Story: Before my parents divorced, my father would lean out their bedroom window and bang his boots on the side of the house. I thought it was Santa on the roof! sweet childhood memories. I really held on to my belief in Santa, I needed to believe in kindness and good will and magic. As an adult, I still believe and although we have no children in our house, you better believe Santa still brings us a present and fills our stockings!
Auntie Ann @193: If they're so well-informed about Kate why don't they bring something substantial to the table? Something like Kate is flipping burgers in Wysomming McDonalds.
+++++++++++++++++
That might be a bit difficult, since it's Wyomissing! I've seen the spelling mutilated, but never quite like that! Just teasin about the spellin! =====
Wyomissing.
lol! How the hell did I get Wysomming out of that? (can I blame it on Ambien?)
theresa sigler said... 14 Maybe you should make it a rule admin. It appears one cannot post here criticizing Jon without getting piled on. Even by yourself.

I thought Kate said that R&R was one of her sponsors. What her role is escapes me, but she is considered a celebrity in their book. Hence the album full of pictures of her posing with everyone of any importance whatsoever. Not all the runners get that, do they? And remember, the other runners at the full marathon were annoyed at all the attention that R&R gave Kate in San Diego. I really thought that R&R and CC are two separate sponsors of her running.
They would love to use this blog as another way to further alienate a father. And that, no, I won't allow. It loses all credibility when absolutely NOTHING is going on on the Jon front. Lots of people here don't like Jon but the subject doesn't come up unless there is something going on. When nothing is happening, just like when Kate is quiet, the subject lapses. This behavior is credible. Random outbursts for no reason whatsoever frankly, are not.
LaLa (82),"If I recall correctly, Jon and Kate stated they told the twins the truth about Santa because they didn't want to "lie" to their children."
&&&
But it's okay to lie about the Tooth Fairy? I guess Kate doesn't have a burning need to take credit for just a 50 cent piece. An ipod though? Yeah she can't let that one go.
I also think Kate's funding isn't as big as it once was. I don't think we'll see her in too many more marathons,when she has to provide her OWN funds. It's pretty cheap to fly into Vegas for the weekend. When I went this year it cost me 580 dollars for 6 nights and that included staying in a casino right in the middle of the strip. For June of 2013,it's gonna cost me 650. I don't think kate would think twice about dropping 2 grand for a weekend away from the kids and the hopes of being treated the a VIP. It's only the kids money after all.
As for kate saying "theres always talks going on" I think she just says that in hope that people will think...Ooo,we better snatch her up b/4 someone else does.To make people think she is still in demand.I dont think there is alot of talks going on...just kate begging to anyone who will listen.
Also...I bet the performers who were posing with her had no idea who the hell she is. Lady with 8 kids? Octo-mom? Oh...ok.They were doing their jobs,posing with who they were told to pose with.Earning a pay check,which kate knows nothing about.
It us one thirty am on the east coast, so I will just get this out of the way tonight. It is Day Seven of the Eight Days of Happy Dancing! In honor of, say it with me now, SAINT TONY OF THE BALLROOM AND MELISSA WON DANCIN WITH THEM THAR STARS!!!!!!!! Notice the eight exclamation points!!!!!!!! Y'all just be happy I didn't decide to do twelve days of happy dancing, or five weeks of happy dancing in remembrance of the five weeks of the Free Tony campaign when he was stuck with Ms Kreider. Dancing to Call Me Maybe, that was the cutest group dance....

If you started dancing when the winner was announced last Tuesday, wouldn't this Tuesday (December 4) be the 8th day of dancing, not the 7th?
Hi Sleepless, I am sleepless right now to. I jumped up and down Tuesday night, and the winner was not announced until right at the end of DWTS almost at eleven pm. Saint Tony deserves a full eight days of celebration. counting three one hour left in Tuesday when the win was announced just didn't seem to be enough time to count as a whole day.
Frankly, it's really between Jon and Kate where the kids spend the holidays. I personally didn't need to know that they asked to be with her. The fact that Kate had to throw that out there simply speaks to her need to feel validated by the public as a good mother. Which bears the question - why is it so important that her "public" know that she's a good mother, the preferred parent, what have you? Why should it matter to her what anyone thinks? For someone who has repeatedly stated that she doesn't care about the opinions of others, she sure as heck does her best to impress people.
Frankly, I would have more respect for Kate Gosselin if she talked less about what a great parent she is and actually just parented her kids.
If she wants to be on tv, fine. She should go for it. It sounds like she is. If she's asked in an interview "Hey Kate, what are the Christmas plans" she can respond "The usual. Enjoy family and friends! Spend time with my kids."
Me, the issue isn't where the kids want to be. It's the fact that Kate felt the need to announce it to the whole world when there really was no need. She needs to learn some tact and decorum.

Bingo.
She's a talker, not a doer.
It's like anything, from politics to teaching to parenting to what have you. Don't tell me how good you are at whatever. Just SHOW ME. In fact someone who just talks about how good they are leaves me skeptical and wondering if they're overcompensating.
Weighing in on my perspective about the comments about Christmas. I am a Jew by birth and my husband converted when our children were young.
Regardless of popular opinion that Christmas is for everyone, Christmas is a Christian religious holiday that has no context, relevance or meaning to me. While of course I share in my friends and neighbors Christmas celebrations, I would never consider celebrating Christmas or observing any of the customs in my own home.
When asked about Santa, we told our children that, in our religion, we don't believe in Santa Claus. We also told them that Santa Claus is an important part of Christmas and that it is important to respect that belief. We didn't say he didn't exist, we said it was a matter of different beliefs and traditions--similar to the fact that Jews celebrate the Sabbath on Friday evening and up until sunset on Saturday, and, Christians observe the Sabbath on Sunday. Different beliefs and different traditions.
I don't judge Jews who incorporate Christmas into their holiday traditions, but, I don't agree with them because, a) as interfaith marriages have become increasingly common, the result is a dilution of Jewish culture and traditions, and b) being out of sync with the majority is a part of the Jewish experience, and, one that is, IMO, best learned at an early age. Unless, you live in a primarily Jewish area in a large metropolitan area, it is just a matter of time until your child is told that Santa doesn't come to his/her house because they are naughty.
I am not opposed to fantasy and magic-we did do the Tooth Fairy. Of course, we knew that they would some day be told, or, figure out, that the Tooth Fairy doesn't exist outside of our imagination. Imagination is, after all, where the real magic happens, IMO. Of all of the harm that Jon ad Kate have inflicted on the kids, the Santa issue is the least of it. It is every parent's right to make these types of decisions for their own family and it is extremely offensive to imply that children are being deprived of magic because a symbol that is randomly associated with the birth of Christ is not included in their own family traditions. Sometimes the criticisms just go too far and are just downright insensitive ad offensive. IMO, the topic of Santa is an example
All of my 3 kids have Christian spouses/boyfriend--none of them are religious. My DIL who loves Christmas, has a Hanukkah Bush. I don't like it--actually, I hate it... I can't promise this forever, but, for now, I am keeping my mouth shut on the subject--pretty rare for this Jewish mother!
Good to see some other middle of the night posters here. I am already having my first cup of coffee. Hubby and 3 dogs snoring peacefully.
I washed windows yesterday in our unseasonably warm weather. Anyone else think that is a thankless job? I have found Cinch to be one of the better streak less sprays. I also use baby diapers for less lint and fewer smudges. Still ...

Ex Nurse, I agree with you. To 'Santa' or not to 'Santa' seems such a petty and trivial criticism in the grand scheme of things. I mean, really? The children I know are so grateful and excited to receive even just one gift during the holidays. They could care less who or where it came from. And they shouldn't have to care, either.
Sometimes the petty arguements here, IMO, are very much in line with First World Problems. Take the blinders off and look around you. The country has so many homeless and poverty-stricken, hungry people who are in need of the basics such as shelter and showering facilities.
Kate is a twit....198: Agree!! You know, I had forgotten about Joy's many posts during Rumspringa Road Trip 2012!!! Absolutely blew my mind the attention to every detail our Joy provided. Just so awesome!! Thanks again for all of that, Joy!!
We need MORE Joys on here, not less!
Oh.....almost forgot......Kreider is the most despicable living creature on Earth! ( whatever IS the most despicable.....Kate is below THAT!!!)
Ex-Nurse - I have to agree with you about the Hanukkah bush. If you want to have a Christmas tree than call it a Christmas tree because that's what it is. Calling it a Hanukkah bush just seems...well rather lame in my opinion. I suppose if it makes you feel better, call it what you will.
Have friends who handled Santa like this. He brought one gift. The rest were from Mom and Dad. Quote, "Why should the little guy in the red suit get all the credit?" Me, they're kids, let them believe. Life will catch up soon enough.
So, they told the kids there is no Santa because they didn't want to "lie" to them? But it was perfectly acceptable to "lie" to them about it being Christmas morning when it really wasn't? To capture their "true" reactions? WTF lady?
Kate consistently mentions how 'proud' her children are of 'her'. How much they want 'her' to succeed. A normal parent would have this in reverse. A normal parent would talk about being proud of their children. A normal parent would want to give their children every opportunity in life to succeed in their personal dreams.
Kate instead makes 'her accomplishments' and 'her dreams' the driving force in that house. I'm sickened at the thought of the constant adulation this former reality personality has to have in order to find relevance in her life. This is NOT normal and way beyond the scope of dysfunctional. The children have NOTHING except the extreme honor of being the first to pay mom on the back and throw roses at her feet. *GAG*
(Anyone else notice how she went from Star to reality star then to former reality star, now to TV personality in the descriptions of her 'career' all the matter of 18 months?)
I don't know about anyone else, but Kate always looks dirty to me for some reason. Also if this is what being fit looks like I'll pass thank you very much. She looks emaciated in the marathon pics and not the healthy look of someone who truly is a health nut.
Sorry if you've posted this already, but I just saw this on the Rock ' n Roll LV Facebook Page. Does everyone get "Cyclist support"???

What is with drivebys putting words in Admin's mouth?? Saying that she claimed that anyone who criticizes Jon is a horrible person? When did she say that?
She said what a lot of us feel, which is that it makes no sense to bash Jon for things he did years ago and has since apologized for, in the same breath as defending Kate for things she has never once apologized for and continues to do!
No one here is saying Jon is perfect - many of us think he is a good father, though, who deserves better than Kate's treatment.
Seems like Kate thinks skinny = healthy, which is not true. Yes lower body fat is healthier but just like obese people, under weight is also an issue. Hair loss, thin skin, pale (which she was very pale), boney...all indicative of someone being underweight and that is not healthy at all.
Does she have an eating disorder? IDK but someone w/an eating disorder has control issues. We know (and kate had admitted, "I'm in charge and that's never gonna change") needing to be in control- well right now she can't control everything. She is not in control of her career, her hope for a future in tv is not in her hands, she can do a little bit (get her ideas, pilots, etc. out there) but it's ultimately someone else decision.
So what can she control? What she puts in her mouth and how many times a day she can exercise. Sad but she could be headed down a very dangerous path, I hope she gets help for it. Milo did say something about her needing to put on a few pounds, hopefully she realizes that she really does need to.

Like · · 7 hours ago ******** Yes, I remember that Kate had this guy riding his bike with Kate the entire marathon last year. He was to be in constant contact with her PR person, Julie May. Of course Steve was her support person too and she seemed to be supported by her "marathon girls'. So, a lot of people to support the woman who takes all the credit for herself. I'll be a monkey's uncle if Kate's ever traveled through one airport alone. Totally alone. Oh, and drove herself and parked in a remote lot, lugged her suitcase onto a bus, and rode with the unwashed masses to her terminal.
but Kate always looks dirty to me for some reason. I've always thought that, too. Maybe it's the oil she uses in her hair? But it's more than that. She looks like she hasn't bathed in a month. Maybe her make-up is too thick? It's too bad. She used to look so fresh faced.
JoyinVirginia...you used to annoy the h*ll out of me with your inability (or refusal) to avoid DWTS spoilers. Since Tony's big win, though, your posts make me smile. He deserves someone to take that much joy in his win, after what he put up with from Kate. And it *is* only one post per day...not 800. One post per day that makes me smile...yeah, that's ok.
If you don't have baby diapers, for less lint washing windows, or micrwaves, use coffee filters. Works great!
Overcompensating?!? High horse about parenting skills?!? Embellished stories of mothering skills?!?
All of this because 22 years ago I read an article in our local paper about fun things to do for your kids at Christmas, and I shared one of those ideas here. Sheesh, some of you really need to chill out!
It is Christmas when many people may become more sentimental about family memories; I have always been one of those. That's all I'm going to say on this subject now, unless I have another memory, then I'll start my comment out with OT Alert!!
What does cyclist support provide? A ride on the bike handlebars?
For an every day mom who just happens to have her life filmed, she sure seems to have a lot of perks that the rest of us don't receive.
When's the last time any of you have received cyclist support when you ran a race, out of town, with Rod Dixon to wait for you at the end, your security guard to run the race with you, someone else booked the first-class flights and hotel, and you ate in first class restaurants? And you never had to give a second thought to your kids? Nor wanted to.
What does cyclist support provide? A ride on the bike handlebars? ---------- Mel, Mel, Mel....don't cha know Kate is a VIP??
I am sure her cyclist support was just that....he rode beside her all the way, and on his tray he had a high def tv (alas, can't run with 3-d glasses on, tsk tsk), bose music system, mirror, makeup, her own personal cell phone tower; caviar, fish in paper, numerous bottles of water from the south of France....internet access, nail tips (in case she suffers a calamity), tanning towels....and a nanny cam, of course, got to make sure those kids are cleaning the basement, taking care of the chicken poop, and making sure none of the kids eat more than 8 grapes.
I know I'm far from alone on this.....I think you're an awesome Grandma and Mom! I LOVE hearing about your time with the boys and I'm sure your daughter feels very, very grateful having you as a Mom! Ignore! Ignore! Ignore those who are just posting crap to make themselves feel better. Hugs! xoxoxo
Aggiemom......51: Nail tip....calamity!!! Bahahahahaha!!
Seriously though ......anyone know what exactly Cycle Support for Kreider entails? Is it like a sideline cheerleader, a pacer, an actual RIDE if needed???? She just can't do anything by herself, can she? Loser.
Interesting that they are so bored they have to come here. Actually, as annoying and as rude as they are, I hope they at least start to question their blind loyalty. I think I understand part of what drives it; Kate is their role model for a single/divorced woman doing what she needs to do to support her family because her ex-husband is a deadbeat cheater. Must be the story of plenty of sheeple. I get that, but here's the problem: Kate is a narcissist and no matter how you color it, her number one concern is glorifying and enrichinng herself at the expense of her children's emotional well-being.
I guess their idea of a strong woman is being controlling, demanding, and vengeful. Jon does not get my vote for dad of the year, but at least he has the humility to make amends for his mistakes. I have not seen this from Kate, nor do I expect I ever will.
@Kateplusmy8 we have to get them out at an #INGKiDSROCK event next year! ---------- LOL, she's grifting one yr in advance. What a gal! (We know how much the kids liked running in the Dixon race).
Kate REALLY thinks those kids owe her a living. I've never seen anything like it. Incredulous.
Another thing Kate tweeted last night was something about how proud her kids were of her and I wonder if anyone remembers being like that as a kid. My parents didn't travel for work or take regular vacations away from home, so I'm wondering if anyone felt "so proud" of mom or dad for you know, winning that fishing tournament or running several miles or whatever their hobby was? I know that I did miss them when they were away to very few times they took time for themselves, but I don't ever remember being all "so, tell me about YOUR trip or YOUR day or YOUR run. I just wanted to know if they brought me back a little trinket ;-)
Kate is like a ventriloquist: she mouths the words supposedly her kids say because she constantly seeks to validate that she is a wonderful mother and her kids love her best. BS as usual.
So I was just flitting around the Internet and looked up the site somebody posted here earlier. The NORAD Santa Tracker. Cool site! Anyways, one of the tabs brings up the famous 'yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus' . It's done in audio so I clicked and listened....it's been a long time since I've read/heard it.
I am using my iPad and it either doesn't copy/paste or I just don't know how to do it. I wanted to copy the answer here because I thought it was relevant regarding the Kreidergrinch. Her kids have/are missing that special something. So sad. Not end of the world sad but, for us at least, Santa was THE best and most exciting thing about Christmas. So, so magical!
My parents always put every single gift as coming from Santa, Mrs Claus or Rudolph, etc. We mix it up...some from Santa and friends and some from us. We still do that and my 'baby' is 16 and the older 2 are in their 20's. They get a kick out of that, silly as it may be.
My point for this post was actually....is there anybody who wouldn't mind posting the famous 'Yes, Virginia' answer? Oh....and Virginia was 8 years old too when she asked!
Count me in too Grandsons. I cannot fathom that a group of regular posters and/or newcomers as well would not veer off into other matters of interest, especially, as the subject that brought us all together becomes more and more obscure and/or by that same token predictable. I think the most of here are family oriented and how can we avoid that topic. There are just so many ways you can say the same thing over and over about one particular person without it becoming redundant, at some point.
My topic of interest for the day is that the voyager (remember the one sporting the plaque of man, woman and child and a map to our planet "emitting" earthly sounds with listening devices for a response) is now 35 years and 11 billion miles later pushing through the outer limits of our solar system. Uncharted territory. No one knows what to expect. It amazes me that with what limited technology available then (as compared to today) mankind was able to pull off such a feat. We as a species are by nature explorers and seekers of knowledge.
Her kids have/are missing that special something. So sad. Not end of the world sad but, for us at least, Santa was THE best and most exciting thing about Christmas. So, so magical! --------- Kate's a grinch, 24/7, 365 days a year. Remember the book passage that said she hired a couple of people to hide the 1,000's of Easter eggs? She couldn't even be bothered to go outside and watch her own medical miracles hunt eggs. She stayed inside drinking wine. (tweets she is stuffing eggs for days upon days...one of these days her lying is going to catch up with her)
Tucker's mom.....58: Never in a million years do I believe those kids say the drivel that Kreider posts! It is so unnatural in so many ways! If, by chance, they DO say/act like she would love to have the world to believe, then they will need some very serious therapy when they grow up and realize how batshit crazy 'Mom' is!! There is not a single maternal bone in that disgusting, emaciated body.
Remember the 'Go Mommy Go, YAY!' cake last year? Who the heck does THAT?
Now, on to Kate’s gift wrapping, that she Tweeted about non-stop for several weeks.In all of the bags that I brought home from Kate’s house, two trash pickups after Christmas day – just so I wouldn’t miss anything – the ONLY colorful wrapping paper that I found was in a single bag and the pieces were torn up into very small sizes. Kate mentioned that she wraps stocking gifts individually and these pieces would go with that story. Other trash bags were packed with what I know to be blank or unprinted newspaper. The local paper gives away ‘end of rolls’ to anyone who wants it and this is what Kate used to wrap her presents for her children. Blank, plain, discarded, FREE, unused newsprint. (Having worked at the local newspaper, I’ve done this once or twice in the past. I hand-decorated the paper though and always had ribbons, bows and tags.) For Kate’s kids though, there were no colorful bows. No ribbons. No fancy tags. Nothing. Just blank, off-white paper with a child’s name written very small with a black pen. That name was for Kate to keep track as she puts each child’s presents in their own pile in their own designated spot on the floor. It’s very cold. In previous years, I found colorful post-it notes used as name tags for the children’s gifts. Not fancy tags, but at least someone took a second to write a name on them. I guess there was no room in the 2011 budget to buy post-it notes for the kids Christmas presents after purchasing two new vehicles for herself that year. Kate posted several photos online showing some of the kids sitting in front of colorfully wrapped presents, and she posted a photo of the kids at the table with the tree and many colorful presents around it. Those presents however, were gifts that Kate wrapped for other people, including Steve and Gina Neild and their two boys. Most of the colorful presents around the tree were for Kate herself, again, from her Tweeties. There were also wrapped presents for the kids from Kate’s Tweeties, but Kate didn’t let them open them on Christmas day. She chose to put them away and use them as incentives for good behavior. The kids weren’t even allowed to open their presents in the ‘family’ room near the tree because Kate didn’t want them to make a mess. Instead, they sat on the floor near the front steps, so that Kate could more easily put the paper in the trash and get it out of the house. The

Here’s how Kate describes Christmas day on her blog. Christmas was a HUGE Success! DECEMBER 28, 2011 Well – it’s finally calming down here enough that I can reflect on our Christmas Day celebrations! It was a standard Christmas day here based on our traditions of years past. Alarms went off at 7: 30 followed by 8 chattering noisemakers clad in festive pajamas bounding down the stairs! Next came the Ohhhhs and Ahhhhs and shrieks of joy once the tree and the presents displayed underneath came into view! These turned to long and loud explosions of excitement, which were quickly replaced by echoing requests to open stockings! This was all before 8am, mind you! Once our stockings were unloaded and enjoyed, I corralled all eight to the table to quickly scarf (I’d use my word “snarffle” but I would be attacked because it’s not in the dictionary) down some homemade cinnamon buns and egg nog and/ or hot chocolate before moving to the long awaited Christmas morning present opening session! A rather surprising peaceful seating arrangement was worked out amongst the kids as I quickly cleaned up breakfast and I marveled to myself how peaceful EVERYTHING is when there are presents on the horizon! And then it began – I chose and handed out a present to each child. Once everyone had one, I announced “open!” and the ripping and tearing began. This process never grew old…. Once all the presents were opened, the gratefulness, thank you’s, hugs and screams of joy continued to the very end! Some of the highlights of the day were: - Our new Betta fish, “Fabio” (He was the last minute Christmas miracle, by the way.. I had received flowers as a “thank you” and they arrived in a fish bowl, which spurred my idea!). Mady has been asking for a pet fish for as long as she could talk, I think! - Fijit Friends, one for each Hannah, Leah, and Alexis - Card making sets for each little girl - “Grow a frog” kit for Aaden - Legos for Collin - Laser tag for Joel - Programmable robot for Cara - Pearl necklace for Mady that we had to harvest the pearl for (very interesting!) - And many many many more wonderful things…. My gift from my kids was my long desired “panini maker” and I was so happy to receive it… Or anything at all! This was the first year that Mady and Cara were insistent on shopping for me and, honestly, I don’t typically receive much for Christmas so it was fun to see their excitement when watching me open such a wonderful gift from them! They are so thoughtful! My very favorite gift, however, was truly the excitement and happiness on my kids faces as they opened each gift. Sounds like a mom cliche, but I really mean it! Each year becomes more about the memories, tradition and bonding and much less about actual gifts for me… The kids took turns, waited for gifts patiently, were happy for each others excitement, cleaned up willingly, and slathered me with plenteous doses of wonderful hugs, kisses and thank you’s! They were truly grateful for each and every item that they unwrapped – from slippers to gadgets! This was genuinely a wonderful Christmas and I am really enjoying these “younger” years of many gifts, child like wonder and great anticipation… Because I know that the teen years of expensive, small electronics, gift cards and perhaps even some resulting anticlimactic Christmas morning celebrations are just around the corner….. And worse yet, the years to follow that… When my kids are grown up and these years are just faded memories… Another Christmas, another day of magical memories that I’ll cherish forever…. Christmas with my 8 kids is the most awe-inspiring experience each year and I am, once again, so very blessed to be their mom! XOXO K8

Aggiemom... I now remember reading that in Roberts book. I think I forgot that because it makes your stomach turn. It makes me cry for those kids. One thing I can say is that there is no way any child would choose that, over dads house. One thing I know about Kate's tweets and interviews, if she says it, pretty much the exact opposite is true. So she says the kids only want to be with her on Christmas or any part before and after, then the kids must have said, we want to spend the whole holiday with dad.
Tucker's mom... I always enjoy reading your posts. I can say that I never praised my parents the way she claims her kids do. I remember when I was little, the rare vacations my parents took by themselves. We lived it atlanta at the time. We spent the week at my aunts house in new jersey. It was the best week. It was a little vacation for my brother and myself. When they came back to pick us up, we were bummed! Vacation was over! At the age of 6 or 7, I don't recall asking how the beaches were in Bermuda! It truly is a fantasy world created by her, and she lives vicariously through the character she has created. Reality begs to differ.
Their Xmas sounds dismal. I agree they would rather be at Jon's, relaxed , not worried about making a mess, not scheduled.Kate makes the kids sound greedy ( snarffle?) ripping open gifts all at the same time- does Kate keep a list for thank-yous?
How horrible to make the kids sit in front of gaily wrapped packages for photos and open their own plain papered presents on the stairs and floor, not by the tree.
I'm not against holding back a surplus of gifts IF the kids don't know about them- accepting gifts from tweeties is not good anyway.Kate should tweet to send donation to toys for Tots instead.
)))))))))))) YES! Over compensating one's mothering skills happens here A LOT. Wonder what the real story is behind some of these humble-bragging mothers who post overly embelished 'stories' of their mothering.
How's about everyone gets off their high horse regarding their parenting skills??
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
How's about? How IS about?
How about drive-bys get off the blog and get back into their own barnyard? I wonder what the real story is behind these s##t-stirrers who just have to pick apart posts made by good people who are just remembering plesasant moments of years gone by.
Ally said... 72 Tucker's mom... I always enjoy reading your posts. ****** Thanks Ally. Same here, right down to the parents leaving us with my aunt when they took a vacation. Wasn't so much of a vacation living with my 6 cousins, trying to squeeze into their 3 bedrom house!
Thanks for posting the REAL version of Xmas morning versus Kate's lies. She truly is delusional. That is why I don't believe anything she posts on Twitter about the kids. Well- meaning fans, who could have spent their hard earned money on their own kids or a charity, were duped by Kate...AGAIN. I have to wonder what will become of her years down the road when some of the kids speak out about their regimented home life. What a beast she is.
Tucker's mom... My aunt and uncle could never conceive so when I was little she was my second mom, as I referred to her. We were very, very close then and still to this day. She was my matron of honor. Anyway, no kids, so I was also like a daughter to her. When I was 15, she finally adopted. So my cousin kind of feels more like my niece.
I rarely post here, but read everyday...I just had to pop in and share a memory from when my oldest son was about 4. I was truly a single mom--didn't marry his dad which, in hindsight, was one of my better decisions in life :-) So money was tight.
My son was very into Thomas the Tank Engine, and he collected the Brio (wooden) trains and track. So that Christmas, I spent (for us) a fortune on every train and track I could afford. I arranged them (unwrapped) around our little tree and was so excited--couldn't wait for the look on his sweet face when he saw those trains!
And he WAS excited! He played and played until I said it was time to go to my sister's house. Then his little eyes welled up with tears and his lip began to quiver. I said "Honey, what's wrong?!" He managed to finally tell me, "Mommy, I love all the things that Santa brought....but YOU didn't get me anything!!"
I was mortified!! In my excitement, I'd forgotten to wrap something from "me".
I still tear up, thinking about that, although my son (now 21) just laughs. He has 11 year old twin brother/sister now, and they still believe in Santa. My youngest son is planning on setting the video camera up this year to capture the big guy in the red suit in action!
I need to think how I'm going to handle this! :-)
I love Christmas, but most of all, I want my kids to love it too. That's not phoney or embellished, it's real life.
May I add my agreement with others who love to read about Love My Grandsons and other mother and grandmother stories? Though I have only made a couple of comments on this blog, I truly enjoy the warmness and humor of this group. My Boston-based son and his darling wife gave me two baby granddaughters; my California-based daughter and her dear husband gave me two baby grandsons. (Btw, since I am living back in California, that is why my Mama gave me the name CA Suzy!) So sharing the stories gives me joy when reading them and I hope they continue. Also, I appreciate how Admin has done so many interesting subjects that broaden our intellectual curiosity. Thank you--all.

After fourteen seasons (which is only seven years, they do a spring and fall edition) I think Saint Tony of the Ballroom deserves eight days of celebration just cause he is special that way. Only two more days. After that I can focus on Survivor. No spoilers for the West coast! Since my fave Penner got voted off I don't really care who wins. ____________________________________
I'll overlook the condescending greeting and just say I asked for a stop to the criticism of you when it became over the top ugly on another thread. But no good deed goes unpunished, right? Thanks for the reminder.
If you read Kate's blog where she describes all the gifts the children got. Lego sets (expensive), jewelry (expensive), programmable robot (!expensive!) and more...but this year the cost of an iPod, less than 50$, brand new, she can't afford? Remember Christmas of 2008, all 8 were to share the ONLY gift of puppies. "Don't expect much else this year". Anyone think that was true? I mean at least back then TLC was paying for everything. Surely they got more than puppies, that they were not allowed to name, choose or have fun with.
Since Prince William's wife, KATE is expecting a new heir to the throne, I can only imagine how many searches there will be for "Kate". If she gets a notice on her 40-11th pink iphone every time there is a kate search, she's going to burn through quite a few more.
Old kate on this side of the pond will have whiplash trying to look at all the results of those searches thinking they are - get ready - all bout ME ME ME ME. Oh, the deep depression she will fall into since 99% of the searches will NOT be for her.
One more thing. Why did she say the 2 women were HER marathon girls? Why not friends, runners she knows, people she trains with. Does she think they belong to her?
"Why should the little guy in the red suit get all the credit?"
&&&
That's sad. I understand religious reasons but I don't understand that reason. Maybe something fanciful and magical should get the credit because it's fun for kids and Christmas isn't about keeping score. How about teaching kids that the other person doesn't always have to know who gave them a nice gift or did a nice thing for them. In fact sometimes it's better to conceal that it was you, to be a little elf. Giving to others isn't about getting credit for YOURSELF.
I can remember being proud of my parents when I was a kid -- When my dad won a teaching award or my mom had the featured solo in a choir program, for example -- but those were special occurrences. NEVER to the extent that KK brags about her kids being proud of her. Those poor kids have to keep it up 24/7. What do they get in exchange?
Re Santa -- I grew up in a fairly conservative, relatively fundamentalistic church (I converted to Catholicism as an adult). Santa wasn't encouraged, but he wasn't forbidden either. My parents allowed and encouraged me to believe in Santa, and I always got presents under the tree from Santa. I also got presents, or stocking stuffers, from the family dogs/cats/birds/even the goldfish, LOL. The parents I know who don't "do" Santa explain to their children that, although they don't believe in Santa, many people do and that it isn't fair to other children to tell them otherwise. I stopped believing in an actual Santa who flew around with reindeer and came down the chimney when I was about 8, but I still believe in Santa the spirit. I think the main objection to Santa by some churches isn't the fantasy aspect, it's that Santa has supplanted the true reason for the celebration, the birth of the Messiah. The same thing for the Easter Bunny -- he's supplanted the Risen Christ. There is no religious connotation for the Tooth Fairy. In some cultures, Christmas Day is reserved for the religious celebration and the gift giving is done on 12th night, to commemorate the gifts the Wise Men brought.
One more thing. Why did she say the 2 women were HER marathon girls? Why not friends, runners she knows, people she trains with. Does she think they belong to her? --------- What irks me is her lack of respect for these ladies, whom I believe she outed on twitter as 'being 14 yrs her senior'. How rude is that! She could have said friends, associates, etc, nope, these women are 'marathon girls'.
Who sets an alarm on Christmas day? Weird. --------- In KateWorld, it probably means the kids have to stay in their rooms until the 730 alarm. No getting up extra early, the nannies aren't there-who would feed the kids while Kate slept in?
LMG, Please keep posting here with all your memories and wonderful stories about your grandsons. I love reading your post and the post of all the regulars.
Don't get to post ofter because I work nights and sleep days but I have been here for a while. I have 3 grandsons and a granddaughter and just like you, they are my world.
Admin, thank you for putting the Catfish doc up on this board. Really enjoyed it, loved reading all the comments. Keep up the good work.
I forgot what a control freak she is. They have to "request" to look in their stockings??? WTF??? She hands out one present to each kid makes them wait then announces open???
Geez is this Christmas or a prison movie? Half the fun of Christmas morning is just tearing right in. It's the one day out of the year no one orders a kid about. Or is supposed to be.
Admin -- Those kids wouldn't dare wake KK up early on Christmas morning the way most kids do. She sets their alarms to let them know when they're allowed to open their bedroom doors. Wanna bet that if any of them are too excited to sleep and get up early, she punishes them by making them stay in their rooms longer and delaying the package opening? Note she also complains about the kids' excitement and wanting to open stockings before 8 AM.
Admin said I forgot what a control freak she is. They have to "request" to look in their stockings??? WTF??? She hands out one present to each kid makes them wait then announces open???

How's your blood pressure this morning?? Nothing like a little kate-ism to get the blood pumping! LOL
"Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus. It would be as dreary as if there were no VIRGINIAS. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished."
That's it in a nutshell--it doesn't have to be SANTA, but some kind of childlike faith, or poetry, or romance makes tolerable this existence.
Lbelle:
"DEAR EDITOR: I am 8 years old. "Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. "Papa says, 'If you see it in THE SUN it's so.' "Please tell me the truth; is there a Santa Claus?
"VIRGINIA O'HANLON. "115 WEST NINETY-FIFTH STREET."
VIRGINIA, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men's or children's, are little. In this great universe of ours man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect, as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.
Yes, VIRGINIA, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus. It would be as dreary as if there were no VIRGINIAS. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.
Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies! You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas Eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if they did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.
You may tear apart the baby's rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived, could tear apart. Only faith, fancy, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, VIRGINIA, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding.
No Santa Claus! Thank God! he lives, and he lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay, ten times ten thousand years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.
There's a competition? A contest? I KNEW IT! I just KNEW IT!
Gosh darn ambien.
I'd like to share a tooth fairy story. GD told us of a a a recent tooth loss that resulted in actual loss of the tooth - as in in down the garbage disposal. Ever the concerned grandparents, we reacted with the appropriate horror atthe story. GS - her older brother - picked up on our implication and said: "GeeJay, Papa. The Tooth Fairy still comes. It's not like she requires a receipt." While I allowed this was true, not Rocketman. He HAD to chime in "Oh no. The tooth fairy COUNTS teeth. Each tooth matches a chart. You're out of luck girlie" (he's so mean). Granddaughter didn't miss a beat "Uh uh, she did TOO come. They only did that back back in the old days Papa. She didn't like some children then." Touche, little one. Touche.
I think I understand part of what drives it; Kate is their role model for a single/divorced woman doing what she needs to do to support her family because her ex-husband is a deadbeat cheater. Must be the story of plenty of sheeple.
&&&
I think so too but if they are in Kate's shoes there are so many other inspiring single moms out there to admire who actually treat their children and others kindly. Why not look up to them? I think for some women scorned there is this odd solidarity where ANY woman scorned, no matter how much she may be in the wrong too, is to be defended at all costs.
Tweetle, I was trying to be funny not condescending. That's just how I talk for real. Y'all keep the cute stories of childhood memories coming, I love it. Yesterday on my local news announcer said ”soon it will be Will and Kate plus one”. Admin, also sincere thanks about the documentary recommendations. I would never have watched Jiro without your recommendation. After all, Ms Kreider is boring. Despicable, animal abuser, and boring. We gotta talk about something non boring!

I agree with you and aggiemom. HER marathon girls, and HER Target employees etc...very disrespectful and shows her sense of herself as owner of all as far as the eye can see and evidently further, perhaps hither, thither and yon!
Admin: ~~~~~~~~ Thanks for Yes, Virginia. Always lovely and brings a tear to my eye. I believe!
If they don't do Santa, why don't they just open the gifts Xmas Eve instead of making a big production of it Xmas morning? Because in Kate world it's all about CONTROL...control the time they get up, control the stockings, control giving out the gifts, make the kids wait while the kitchen is cleaned, etc. It also keeps the kids overnight at her place as opposed to staying at Jon's and maybe, just maybe, waking up at the crack of dawn and tearing into the packages. You know, having FUN Xmas morning.
It's just as dangerous to drive exhausted as it is to drive drunk. If she's that tired maybe she should have the nanny take them and stop being such a martyr.
Also she only spent what? Two days in Vegas? That's hardly enough time to be on Pacific Coast Time. She should have never even changed over. She just wanted an excuse to mention oh by the way I got a fabulous Vegas trip this weekend fools!

Exactly!
And what is this nonsense:
@BColliesRGreat @KATEPLUSMY8 What a great run you had Kate. You were the FIRST celebrity to cross the finish line. That alone is a wonderful accomplishment.
For Kate I suppose it is. She's definitely not an accomplished mother.
Oh dear lawd. If you travel back to the east coast, go to bed at 11pm and wake up at 5:30 am, you get 6.5 hours of sleep. You don't subtract 3 hours because you just got off a plane from LV. I say let Kate keep using Twitter. She sounds entitled and spoiled. A couple days in Vegas for a 2 hour run and then oh my, back to bed! Raise your hand if you are able to screw work the next day because you took the red eye into your home town after a grueling day or more of crap coach travel for your job? Crickets.
When I was in late elementary school and junior high, my mother was heavily involved in a non-profit here in Berks County. It no longer exists but did very important work. Now that I am older and look back on it, I really appreciate all she did and can see the importance.
But at that age I was NOT proud of her, congratulating her, thanking her. I was annoyed that I had to answer the phone and take all these really careful messages. I was mad that I got in trouble if I screwed it up. Etc. i was a normal pre-teen/teen.
Either Kate is lying about what the kids say or they know to say it to placate her. Either way, pathetic and sad.
Tucker's Mom, ITA. I travel a lot and she got rest on the flight and whatever car service she used to get back home (probably from BWI). I vote the nanny took took the kids to the bus today. She'll say anything to prove how hard it is to raise 8 kids ALONE. Someone had to have been at the house if they were already tucked in when she got home 14 hours ago, right??????
Kate's the adult here so why does she need to mention getting praise and 'unconditional love' from her children? Something's wrong with this picture. I don't get the tweets. No one else asked about the children so that was kinda thrown out, yes? She's the parent and it's not the children's job to pacify Kate. I would never put that burden on my children. Only she pacify herself. She put herself on that pedsetal--every time she goes to LV, she does this. Last year, she got a cake for herself and said that was the children's way of 'cheering her on'.
Jeanne #113 I think it is a combination of both. I think Kate is a relentless liar but I also think the kids have learned how to placate ("play-kate") her. If they appease her, the happier they will be.

I remember how I found out that Santa was just an imaginary person.
I was born in 1943. World War II caused a lot of shortages and money was tight.
It must have been 1945 or 1946, maybe, when there was an announcement on the radio that Santa Clause had been shot and killed.
I remember the fear and terror we little kids felt, and can remember sitting on my Dad's lap crying my eyes out. Then he had to tell us that Santa was just make believe, and the announcement that he had been shot was because people feared they could not supply their kids with Christmas that year.
I know that is one of my earliest memories, and my siblings remember it also.
Do any of you other people about my age remember that happening?

She's definitely due for some down time at a tropical posh spa! She should be back on tv sharing that super woman image! Quick...someone give her a new show.

"You were the FIRST celebrity to cross the finish line. That alone is a wonderful accomplishment."
First, it depends how you define celebrity.Kate may be considered a "celebrity" because she was on TV and her tweeties know who she is. However, Meb Keflezighi has won the several marathons, and is an Olympic medal winner. In the running world, he is a celebrity. He finished the half in 1:30. So whether Kate was the first "celebrity" to cross the finish line is highly debatable.
Diana was a *little* bit older than I was when she married, so naturally I took an interest in her marriage and later how she mothered her children. (I stayed up late and watched the wedding).
I still remember when I first heard she died..I just can't imagine what those little boys went though, my heart just ached for them.
And yes, years later I watched William and Kate get married, and my first thought when learning about the pregnancy, was how Diana would have been a wonderful grandmother.
I still remember what I was doing when I heard on the tv she was killed. I was folding baby clothes. Does anyone else remember what they were doing when they found out she was gone?
I see the Duchess is in the hospital for morning sickness. Who does she think she is? Kate Gosselin?
Aggiemom - I was in the kitchen and turned on the tv. I was "wha...what?!" Really a shock. I felt so sorry for William and Henry because they were carted off to church services that same morning they had learned their mom had died. They could have at least been allowed to grieve in privacy THAT morning.
Don't give Kate any ideas. She'll print out your instructions and give each child a copy to memorize, and before they go to bed on Christmas Eve, she will make them repeat it word for word. "Now, what is our agenda for Christmas? I want to hear it now".

I was going to say "found in Kate's trash bin" but I don't want to get Robert Hoffman in any more trouble.
when my dd was 7 she heard at school santa did not exist. That x-mas wd made an aluminum foil star for the tree..lost old one. x-mas morn star was replaced by a magic wand and a letter from Santa himself, tellimg dd he was real. She eaved the wand in her room like Santa said and nothing happennex, she figured the kids were rigjt. That night, when she opened her bedroom door, her wall was full of glowing stars, right where she had waved her magic wand. The kids at school got a good talking to by her proving Santa exists.
ls..we had magically disappearing elf dust..lol
(and a neighbour woth really big boots to mark Santa's passage)
Poor kids. I can only hope that, due to the stupid show stealing away their childhoods, that, maybe since Kate has never treated them like most Moms treat their kids...they dont know any better.?? If they have never experienced the magic and wonderment that is Santa and Christmas they're not missing anything.?? Personally, I think it's pretty sad but I am hoping, for their sakes, that it's not so bad for them. Did any of that make any sense???!! Lol!

I was watching TV while playing Scrabble with my mom when it was broadcast that Princess Diana had died. I was 14 and didn't really understand why my mom was so upset because she didn't usually pay any attention to celebrities. I didn't realize at the time that she was royalty.
When Diana died, I was back home visiting with my mom and it was pretty late on the east coast when the sad news was confirmed. Diana tried so hard to give the boys a bit of normalcy but she was hounded by the press. Now Kate (Middleton) will face the same challenges. A big plus is that her husband seems to really love her and there's no acrimony towards her from the family.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!! "she was the first fake celebrity wearing a good bra, wearing red toenail polish, with 8 kids, and a bodyguard who was wearing his own pink thong underwear, and with a personal chef named Katherine, from PA, with an exhusband named Jonathon, to cross the finish line!"
See! In Kate-land, she is always the bestest ever!
Auntie Ann -- Kate is hospitalized for hyperemesis gravidarum. That's more than ordinary morning sickness. Women with that condition can't keep anything down, even water, and it can cause severe dehydration. In some cases, it can endanger the life of both the mother and the baby.
"I still remember what I was doing when I heard on the tv she was killed. I was folding baby clothes. Does anyone else remember what they were doing when they found out she was gone?" ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I was backstage at a concert, sitting in production looking over the passes/guest list for the following night, knowing that there were too many requests for what was available. One of the performers had just left the stage and he told me that Diana was in an accident. He's a great kidder, and I thought this was the lead-in to a joke. He said, "No, I'm serious. Reports are that she's dead." The look on his face told me that it was no joke.
I love the "Santa" memories. My parents did try and do Santa, but I stopped believing when I was about 5 years old and noticed that "Santa's" handwriting looked exactly like my parents'!
I remember that the Tooth Fairy failed to appear one evening. I, naturally, was very disappointed (I wanted my money!) Lo and behold, the next evening a 5 dollar bill appeared under my pillow...along with a typewritten note on unicorn stationary explaining that due to the sheer volume of children losing their teeth the previous evening, the Tooth Fairy had encountered unexpected delays in her rounds. She appreciated my patience and promised that she would redouble her efforts the next time I lost a tooth. It was signed and everything!
Years later I realized my oldest brother had written the note, but at the time it was just the coolest thing ever. Sure, other kids got money under their pillows, but I was the only one with a letter.
It would scare me knowing I was bringing a child into that fishbowl. This kid will be hounded. For that reason alone i wouldnt want to marry someone like that. Kate and William I'm sure will keep their children as protected as possible.

Even if she did, it is only an hour or two out of her lazy life. How pampered and blessed she is that she can dump the kids at the bus stop and go back to bed for another 8 or more hours. There is not a thing in the world that she cant postpone while she sleeps all day. It's not like she has to go to a paying job so the electric bill gets paid this month.
When other folks everywhere are counting nickles to try to get through this holiday month, grabbing overtime where they can etc, she spends money to take off to Vegas for a long weekend and the bitches about being tired, when she has not one responsibility in the entire world. As my grandmother used to say "Go stick your head in the toilet and flush it", Kate.
Hysterical, but sadly true, isn't it? Controlled joy does not work, this is simply a day with presents, that's all, all the spontaneity sucked right out of Christmas day.
When I read her post, she sounded like an observer, an interloper, detached from the experience, her entire accounting sounded hollow and false. She is standing on the outer-limits of their childhoods, sitting back, thinking of ways to flee to flee the scene it seems, grinding through another day, just a bigger mess to deal with. What I found especially telling was her advancement of Christmases to come, more expense, less excitement from them. The excitement has been taken away from them since DAY ONE, that is what controllers do.
The push-back is coming from them and worrying about how they respond on Christmas mornings to come will be the least of her worries.
Auntie, has there been another Henry since Tudor the VIII? would this Henry be VIIII? Now I gotta go look - I am not up to speed too much after Oliver Cromwell... David Starkey needs to write me another book!
Dwindle and she has the nerve to say that these marathons are a hobby. You can't even argue she's supporting her kids. While others are counting nickels she is hobby marathoning in Vegas and complaining about iPods. But at least her skin is moist. What a world. #outoftouch

Yes. I knew a young gal once, already the mother of twin girls, who got pregnant with triplets. Due to the constant nausea, her kidneys started shutting down due to dehydration and her heart became irregular due to lack of electrolytes. She lost one baby, a girl, and was in the hospital on IVs for weeks, and yet still lost another baby, another girl. She ended up delivering on girl, over 10 lbs and very healthy. This was not due to infertility treatments, was all natural.
So for me, it easy to speculate that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting twin girls.

She DID dump the kids on the nanny this weekend and comments were that the kids were probably glad to have some time away from her, so it wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

I was on a flight to London in 1998 next to a cute little talkative British boy and I was asking him what he thought of William and Harry. He got all red faced and mad and said Harry??? It's HENRY!!! Lol.
Jumping In - I agree with your comments completely. Remember when they split up, they made such a big deal about spending all the holidays together as a family? They were so determined they could do it. It lasted I think, one holiday and that idea went south. Jon kept her glued together, even though she treated him like dirt. Without him around, she's just following this script in her head.
She wants to control everything, but she can't even control herself. She fantasizes constantly about this wonderful life she and the kids are living and we know it's all a bunch of bs. We've seen how regimented her happy times are with the kids. Eight Little Pumpkins episode comes to mind. She ruined it by cleaning up before they were finished carving the pumpkins! She said she didn't know why she does things like that but said she can't control herself. It has to be worse at a holiday like Christmas. Pity those kids, no matter how much 'stuff' they get. They're in it for the long haul with their mother. Thankfully their dad has more sense.
AuntieAnn 156 said She wants to control everything, but she can't even control herself. W --------- I've read many places that Kate, as a teen, was fixated on the couple that had sextuplets (what was their name, the Mc somethings?) and Kate carried that couple's book everywhere she went.
It was always my thought that Kate wanted the perfect family that was shown in that book. Perfect kids, perfect hubby, that were always clean, happy,smiling, healthy and QUIET.

You know, I might forgive her for a post that says she was glad to be up this morning, seeing her children off to school after missing them so much all weekend. But she is greatful for the opportunity to get away for a few days and so blessed to able to lay down this afternoon to catch up a bit of sleep. It is the way she words things, the way she says things, she ALWAYS come across as so complaining, so entitled. Her pampered, blessed life is such a burden to her every minute of every day. And everyone except Milo and a couple of teenagers is sick of hearing it.
I had something going on last week; and at 7AM I was half-consiously shoving meat, potatoes, carrots and seasonings in my crockpot so I could lay down with no worries in the afternoon. I dont like being unemployed, but I sure did count my blessings that day! Both for the freedom to sleep and for my crock pot collection! hehe
Have I ever mentioned I have six crockpots? Gawd I love crock pots. Never enough crock pots...

Well, that's a crying shame. She's practically talking to herself over there.
My MIL is a lot like Kate. When you go there, the gifts are already separated into piles. You must wait and open gifts in the order she specifies. One person opens all of their gifts as everyone else watches. As the person opens, she writes down EVERY gift that each person receives, no matter whom it's to or whom it's from. Then she saves the lists. And God forbid a kid try to open a gift out of order. VERY CONTROLLING.
Aggiemom - Princess Diana and I were only two weeks apart in age. I got up early to watch her wedding (and her funeral:( ). I was in San Francisco visiting my brother the day she died. After going out for dinner that night, a parking lot attendant was pointing at the tv in his booth and kept saying something like "the prince of arabia died", when I saw Diana on the screen I finally figured out what he was saying. So sad....
I also watched William and Kate's wedding. Am thrilled, (in a very weird way for people I don't really know) for the new baby.
I like Prince Harry, he even dropped in at a local bar here. Gotta love that kind of behavior from a royal. ****** Ha! I thought you were going to say he even dropped his drawers! He's naughty, that one!

She lives in an alternative universe where kids are seen, but not heard, never make messes, never demand anything, always clean, always respectful, do what they're told, when they're told. The problem is those children don't exist in real life. Kids are people learning by doing, making the messes. This is part of the growing up process.
Kate doesn't want anything less than a perfect kid. Well, they only exist in Fantasy-land. And that's where Kate lives...Fantasy-land.

Charles should never have used Diana the way he did; she was a naive 19 yr girl. He was clearly in love with someone else. As she said, she felt 'like a lamb to slaughter'. She would be very proud of her sons. I am sorry she is not here to welcome this baby into the world.

Every once in a while, it used to really hit me how ridiculous this housewife from PA was acting. Then Jon made his comment that he has a lot of thing's to be thankful for, but his ex wife's need to famous wasnt one of them. Something about that comment... And now when I look at her pic or hear that weird voice or read her comments, all I see, ALL I see, is a mentally ill housewife from PA. She is right up there with all those awful videos of Tanning Mom, so very disturbed, but for some reason Kate got a network behind her and some folks fell for the propoganda. Including the mentally ill housewife in PA.
I dont, I cant, see anything else. I dont see a good mom, I see a housewife trying to be famous using her kids. I dont see a hot mama, I see a housewife using plastic everything and trampy clothes to look outlandish to get stares and be famous. I dont see a star, I see a freakshow of a housewife acting out as much as she can so she can be famous.
If it werent for Discovery Networks, she would have been under psychiatric care a long time ago for her rage disorder and mood swings, but the kids would be less terrorized and living a more private life.
My memories of Christmas revolved around food, less about toys, etc...
We were a one income family, so money was always tight. My father was construction worker/carpenter, and we basically lived hand to mouth. So the idea of making a Christmas list up for Santa was unheard of in our house.
I vaguely remember a few good years (toy-wise), when we were very young. But as the years went by, my father would always be laid off of work, usually around Christmas time. So we learned to go without gifts. BUT having food for the holiday was very important to my parents, in particular, to my father (he had a very rough childhood).
So every year, my parents would squirrel away a little bit of money (with each pay check) for the big Christmas feast on December 24th.
Being Cuban, of course we had to have a roast pig, ham, cuban bread, black rice & beans, Yucca with garlic sauce, shrimp cocktail, cheese platters, nut platters, & turrone (it's a dessert nougat), lots of wine, and plenty of Christmas music playing loudly.
And that was that. That was our Christmas, year after year. It didn't matter if you were naughty, or nice. Santa didn't stop by our house. It was normal for us.
For whatever reason, I still believed in the idea of Santa. I believed in the joy surrounding the season, and how it bought out the best in people.
Of course, our own children never went without anything- even at Christmas time. But they also know the importance of being generous with other people (not just at Christmas time).
As I enter my 50's, I realise that presents are really a very small part of the season- for me. That's why I always say that Christmas is for children, and to help people that cannot afford meals.
Hmmmm... who knew from going without, I would walk away with important life lessons?

The story goes Harry was telling William he couldn't do it. He couldn't face all those people. William told him we can do it for Mummy, just look at your shoelaces. And so the two boys walked out there heads bent looking at their shoes. William and I are four weeks apart so like others I always felt sort of a kinship experiencing the same milestones at the same times.

Maybe you should make it a rule admin. It appears one cannot post here criticizing Jon without getting piled on. Even by yourself. -------------------- This will likely always be an issue, as it keeps coming up over and over (and not just here, but at other sites that discuss the Gosselin saga).
Jon did exploit his children, and yes, he did go along with Kate's wishes and desires to be on tv.
But, in my opinion and that of many posters here, Jon is not currently exploiting his children, nor actively trying to make money off them. He has not done so in years. Whereas, Kate is still hinting desperately and clearly that she would be happy to put her children right back on tv, if anyone would just please offer her the chance.
There is the difference. I'm at a loss as to why some people don't seem to see that difference.
One parent (Kate) = still actively trying to exploit her children for monetary gain.
The other parent (Jon) = no longer actively trying to profit off the children (and has not done so since he and Kate split up and divorced).
So whenever I see a comment that states Jon IS just as bad as Kate, or intimates that he IS currently trying to make money off the children, I respond in his defense. What he once did is not the same as what he is currently doing.
I believe that people can make mistakes and bad choices in life, and then regret them. I believe that people can try to atone for those bad decisions, can grow up, mature, and try to do better. I made some pretty dumb mistakes in my youth that I would rather not have blazoned over the internet for all to know. I once drank too much, partied too much, and was irresponsible. Then I grew up, I stopped over-indulging in alcohol. I settled down, got a job, met a nice man, had a child, blah, blah, blah. The person I was in my 20's is not the person I am today.
So it is with Jon. I think most reasonable people can see he did change his choices and behavior. We forgive him because one should forgive people who are genuinely sorry and make changes in their life for the better. It is wrong to refuse to allow a person to move beyond their mistakes. Hanging on to anger and bitterness toward Jon (a person none of us know in real life; and a person who has never personally done us wrong) says more about the person unwilling to forgive than it does about Jon.
As I enter my 50's, I realise that presents are really a very small part of the season- for me. That's why I always say that Christmas is for children, and to help people that cannot afford meals.
Hmmmm... who knew from going without, I would walk away with important life lessons? --------
wealth doesn't come from material possessions. you are blessed, indeed. your post gives encouragement to those that are struggling. thank you. :)
aggiemom: yes, the card that said "Mummy' was the saddest thing on earth. I had been in bed when my husband told me Diana had died and I couldn't believe it, half-asleep. Bad dream quality.She was a wonderful woman- a real 'lady.'
AuntieAnn; One addendum: the children may peer into the living room or family room, but must await gift-opening on the stairs and cold floor by the door.
(We open gifts by taking turns, one person playing 'mailman' so we can keep track. I don't like kids just ripping into gifts without thinking about who selected them and jotting it down for thank-yous. )
Millicent - you explained it all so well. It would be wonderful if the sheeple, or those who are on the fence, could read and UNDERSTAND the difference between what Jon did and now does, and what Kate continues to do. In fact, her tweet this morning in response to runrocknroll about having the kids involved in next year's event speaks to the fact that she continues to exploit them. With the children there, she knows she'll get the attention she didn't get this time.
I just read about the Virginia who wrote that letter to the sun. She grew up and got her doctorate. Wow. In 1912 that was nearly unheard of. She became a teacher and principal. She said that editorial shaped her life. What a perfect ending, that Virginia taught children and presumably, helped them find their own bit of magic before childhood was gone. Oh and she was a single mom, her husband left her.
Joy - taking over your happy dance but for different reason. Partial obstruction is resolved! No TPN. Tomorrow I get to "advance" my diet (albeit, slowly) but YIPEE! Christmas miracle! It’s so tempting to get riled up by the Mommy Wars, isn’t it? The Time magazine cover story about extreme parenting, Are You Mom Enough?, featuring a beautiful mother in skinny jeans nursing her preschool-aged son, is infamous by now. It made me, along with the rest of the Internet, explode with righteous indignation. Mom enough? How dare they! This isn't a contest! But, wait ... what if it is? And I don't even own skinny jeans! The story also made me think about what I wanted to teach Andrew—I mean really teach him. I’m not talking about the trendy must-dos that crop up each year about feeding and sleeping and discipline, insecurity porn concocted just in time to fill a fresh generation of parents with self-doubt. No, I’m talking about the things that I want to impart in average, totally inextreme moments, when my breasts are covered and my skinny jeans are in the wash.
But when it comes to crock pots, maaaaannnnn, I lose all sense of reason. I love they way they look, the potential in all of them, the way we walk hand in handle into the sunset...

Here’s my wish list. I hope I raise a child who says “thank you” to the bus driver when he gets off the bus, “please” to the waiter taking his order at the restaurant, and holds the elevator doors when someone’s rushing to get in. I hope I raise a child who loses graciously and wins without bragging. I hope he learns that disappointments are fleeting and so are triumphs, and if he comes home at night to people who love him, neither one matter. Nobody is keeping score, except sometimes on Facebook. I hope I raise a child who is kind to old people. I hope I raise a child who realizes that life is unfair: Some people are born rich or gorgeous. Some people really are handed things that they don’t deserve. Some people luck into jobs or wealth that they don’t earn. Tough. I hope I raise a child who gets what he wants just often enough to keep him optimistic but not enough to make him spoiled. I hope I raise a child who knows that he’s loved and special but that he’s not the center of the universe and never, ever will be.

OT Santa Story:
Before my parents divorced, my father would lean out their bedroom window and bang his boots on the side of the house. I thought it was Santa on the roof! sweet childhood memories. I really held on to my belief in Santa, I needed to believe in kindness and good will and magic. As an adult, I still believe and although we have no children in our house, you better believe Santa still brings us a present and fills our stockings!

As far as I'm concerned, Joy can do her little happy dance. Who is she hurting? Let her have her fun.

everyone of any importance whatsoever.

Hi Sleepless, I am sleepless right now to. I jumped up and down Tuesday night, and the winner was not announced until right at the end of DWTS almost at eleven pm.

Kate is a twit....198:
Agree!!

Good morning, everyone!
Have a great day, everyone!

Yes, I remember that Kate had this guy riding his bike with Kate the entire marathon last year.

Off to work now!

Mel, Mel, Mel....don't cha know Kate is a VIP??
I am sure her cyclist support was just that....he rode beside her all the way, and on his tray he had a high def tv (alas, can't run with 3-d glasses on, tsk tsk), bose music system, mirror, makeup, her own personal cell phone tower; caviar, fish in paper, numerous bottles of water from the south of France....internet access, nail tips (in case she suffers a calamity), tanning towels....and a nanny cam, of course, got to make sure those kids are cleaning the basement, taking care of the chicken poop, and making sure none of the kids eat more than 8 grapes.
That's what a support cyclist does.

Seriously though ......anyone know what exactly Cycle Support for Kreider entails? Is it like a sideline cheerleader, a pacer, an actual RIDE if needed????
She just can't do anything by herself, can she?
Loser.
Count me IN as one of Love My Grandsons fans. I really enjoy reading her posts about her family.
One of my favorite 'memories' (lol) is her 5yr grandson having a soccer battlecry. That was awesome-ishly awesome x8!
Love My Grandsons, keep posting those stories.
:)
I see sheeple.
I just saw this tweet to Kate from the Rock and Roll people....I wonder if she will 'trot out' the children for the next one. hmmmm

LOL, she's grifting one yr in advance.

Yes most parent want the very best for the children.
Most parents want their children to be happy and to succeed.
Most parents will do anything to help their child to succeed & be happy.
But Kate is not a normal parent she wants what Kate wants.
And that's for Kate to be happy.

Kate's a grinch, 24/7, 365 days a year.

Never in a million years do I believe those kids say the drivel that Kreider posts!
My mom is divorced from my dad I never heard her say she was a single mom.
When I was born my mom was on the edge of retirement she worked 15-16 yr with the CTA.
I was born sick she left the CTA and took care of me and my older brothers.
She got a teaching job and now is retired 25yr later & so is my dad.
My mom worked over time to put me and my brother though school.
She never asked us to work or help her.
LoL my point is I will never see Kate as a good mother.
I have and know mothers like my own who are real mothers.
I had to make my mom go out and spend money on her self while I was grown up.
And at 25 I still do.
The

This is Kate's twitter version:
XOXO K8

Thanks Ally.

What is the freakin' deal with posts like #69?
New way to spam or send viruses?
I've seen several of these the last few days on this site.
&&&
I have no idea. It's very annoying!!
My brother is 36 with a wife & 4 kids and he's still a mommy's boy.
And he has no shame in it. I just goes to show how much a good mom our mother is.
Can Kate say that any of her son's are mommy's boys?
The people who post here are NORMAL mothers. It is not competition, it's being brought up in a nurturing, loving home.

Tweetle, bless your heart, I only have two more days of happy dancing.

&&&

Who sets an alarm on Christmas day? Weird.

---------
What irks me is her lack of respect for these ladies, whom I believe she outed on twitter as 'being 14 yrs her senior'. How rude is that! She could have said friends, associates, etc, nope, these women are 'marathon girls'.
Who sets an alarm on Christmas day? Weird.
---------
In KateWorld, it probably means the kids have to stay in their rooms until the 730 alarm. No getting up extra early, the nannies aren't there-who would feed the kids while Kate slept in?
LOL
@Kateplusmy8 we have to get them out at an #INGKiDSROCK event next year!

No, you have to leave them the heck alone and let them live out of the spotlight. They are eight years old!! They are not publicity tools!
LMG,
Please keep posting here with all your memories and wonderful stories about your grandsons.

7:30 on Christmas morning to a kid is like 11 a.m. Poor kids, it must kill them to have to wait that long.

"Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus.
"Papa says, 'If you see it in THE SUN it's so.'
"Please tell me the truth; is there a Santa Claus?
&&&
"Why should the little guy in the red suit get all the credit?"

Because it's what kids believe in.

Now that should be the real question.

Thanks for Yes, Virginia. Always lovely and brings a tear to my eye. I believe!
If she's that exhaustedish and tired from her trip, did she ever think it might not be a good idea to drive, especially with the kids in the car?
Poor Kate-flying to Vegas, running for 2 hrs. and then flying home is such hard work.
Kate is a Twit we had the same thought at the same time.
I don't find you to be a good mother just because you drove your children when you were very tired. In fact i find you to be dangerous.

Exactly!
And what is this nonsense:
@BColliesRGreat
@KATEPLUSMY8 What a great run you had Kate. You were the FIRST celebrity to cross the finish line. That alone is a wonderful accomplishment.
For Kate I suppose it is. She's definitely not an accomplished mother.
When asked what she was doing today, Kate tweeted:
kateplusmy8
@grisel1018 resting then catching up... Re entry (back home) is always a bit challenging :)
Re-entry? She went to Vegas, not the moon!! (Although I wish someone would send her there with a one-way ticket).
Jeanne #113
I think it is a combination of both.

You are pretty observant! Now pick a name.
Why didn't she leave Monday morning? She'd be back in plenty of time to get a good nights sleep.
Anonymous it doesn't matter what WE say YOU will bitch. Go away.
Speaking of William and Kate:

Wow, sort of War of the Worlds. That's crazy.
How about Santa's elves have to make munitions this year, sorry kids, not he's DEAD!

Well, Prince Harry's real given name IS Henry--so you were correct in your original post.
====
That means that, on the off chance he becomes King of England, he will be King Henry X.
I remember when he was born. Diana looked very depressed when she was leaving the hospital.

444444444444444444

When I read her post, she sounded like an observer, an interloper, detached from
the experience, her entire accounting sounded hollow and false.
#outoftouch

Auntie Ann -- Kate is hospitalized for hyperemesis gravidarum. That's more than ordinary morning sickness. Women with that condition can't keep anything down, even water, and it can cause severe dehydration. In some cases, it can endanger the life of both the mother and the baby
44444444444444444

I mean since ya'll refuse to believe that she and Jon have 50/50.
That would mean that she left the kids again with a sitter.

I've read many places that Kate, as a teen, was fixated on the couple that had sextuplets (what was their name, the Mc somethings?) and Kate carried that couple's book everywhere she went.
It was always my thought that Kate wanted the perfect family that was shown in that book. Perfect kids, perfect hubby, that were always clean, happy,smiling, healthy and QUIET.
She wanted a book family.

Kate is a fantasy Mom, not a reality Mom.

Oh, I didn't mention I watched the funeral as well. I have to say, I shed a lot of tears while watching those boys walk behind their mother's casket.
Charles should never have used Diana the way he did; she was a naive 19 yr girl. He was clearly in love with someone else. As she said, she felt 'like a lamb to slaughter'.
She would be very proud of her sons. I am sorry she is not here to welcome this baby into the world.

Dog has confused my dance with the Snoopy supper time dance (mainly because I do that every evening at her supper time. I'm sure this comes as no shock to anyone here).
It's the little things...
O.K. my turn to share...
Please forgive my long winded story.
My memories of Christmas revolved around food,
less about toys, etc...
So every year, my parents would squirrel away a little bit of money (with each pay check) for
the big Christmas feast on December 24th.
Go figure.

The story goes Harry was telling William he couldn't do it. He couldn't face all those people. William told him we can do it for Mummy, just look at your shoelaces. And so the two boys walked out there heads bent looking at their shoes. Maybe you should make it a rule admin. It appears one cannot post here criticizing Jon without getting piled on. Even by yourself.
--------------------
This will likely always be an issue, as it keeps coming up over and over (and not just here, but at other sites that discuss the Gosselin saga).
Hanging on to anger and bitterness toward Jon (a person none of us know in real life; and a person who has never personally done us wrong) says more about the person unwilling to forgive than it does about Jon.

yes, the card that said "Mummy' was the saddest thing on earth.
With the children there, she knows she'll get the attention she didn't get this time.
kateplusmy8
@RunRocknRoll yes! Let's do it!!! :)

~~~~~~~
I was working the evening shift when I found out that Diana had been in an accident. Someone rushed in and announced that ''a PIZZA delivery car has run Princess Diana's car off the road, and she is being taken to the hospital!!'' I turned on the news to learn that the Paparazzi was involved in the accident, and my horror was dampened by my amusement at the confusion between Pizza and Paparazzi.
Found this in the local paper and want to share it. It’s long so I have to post in parts.
It’s so tempting to get riled up by the Mommy Wars, isn’t it? The Time magazine cover story about extreme parenting, Are You Mom Enough?, featuring a beautiful mother in skinny jeans nursing her preschool-aged son, is infamous by now. It made me, along with the rest of the Internet, explode with righteous indignation. Mom enough? How dare they! This isn't a contest! But, wait ... what if it is? And I don't even own skinny jeans!
The story also made me think about what I wanted to teach Andrew—I mean really teach him. I’m not talking about the trendy must-dos that crop up each year about feeding and sleeping and discipline, insecurity porn concocted just in time to fill a fresh generation of parents with self-doubt. No, I’m talking about the things that I want to impart in average, totally inextreme moments, when my breasts are covered and my skinny jeans are in the wash.
And I think it is high time, SOMEONE outs themselves on here about collecting kitchen gadgets! LOL!
----------
What you talkin' bout, Willis?????
:)
Dwindle, there is a *difference* between a simple kitchen gadget and a serious appliance.
I mean, REALLY!
(gotcha!)
:)
Part 2
Here’s my wish list.
I hope I raise a child who says “thank you” to the bus driver when he gets off the bus, “please” to the waiter taking his order at the restaurant, and holds the elevator doors when someone’s rushing to get in.
I hope I raise a child who loses graciously and wins without bragging. I hope he learns that disappointments are fleeting and so are triumphs, and if he comes home at night to people who love him, neither one matter. Nobody is keeping score, except sometimes on Facebook.
I hope I raise a child who is kind to old people.
I hope I raise a child who realizes that life is unfair: Some people are born rich or gorgeous. Some people really are handed things that they don’t deserve. Some people luck into jobs or wealth that they don’t earn. Tough.
I hope I raise a child who gets what he wants just often enough to keep him optimistic but not enough to make him spoiled.
I hope I raise a child who knows that he’s loved and special but that he’s not the center of the universe and never, ever will be.
