'Dance Moms' Season Three: Big changes ahead for production

Lifetime is airing a New Year's Dance Moms marathon all day today, followed by the premiere of Season Three at 9 p.m. EST. Seasons One and Two can be found on Amazon, Netflix, and for a limited time all for free on Lifetime streaming (sweet!).

Love her, hate her, or just don't care, Abby Lee Miller has emerged as one of the most well-known, and polarizing reality T.V. women since Kate Gosselin. (Lifetime is unabashedly advertising Abby as a "maniac" and even Television Without Pity, a site that usually lives for snark like this, said they are taking a break from the show, due to the obvious fake setups and bad acting, and stale formula.)

Dance Moms has been sashaying around for awhile now, but Season Three, which begins tonight, marks the first season that Lifetime's production, based largely in Pennsylvania (although the girls participate in a lot of out of state competitions), will have to comply with Rep. Murt's new child labor laws passed last year. After a brief waiting period, the law will take effect this month, and requires a set teacher on set and limits the hours the girls can work. Previously, one of the moms reported the show films for 70 hours a week.

Will we notice any changes, or will Lifetime still be able to churn out a great guilty pleasure even with safety protections in place? We're hoping the latter. Here's hoping this show can prove that schmalzy,  addicting reality T.V. can still be accomplished without exploiting the living crap out of the children participating.

Something interesting (I can't quit you!), I was going through my running magazines and Competitor lists running events through the year. Lisbon's Rock-n-Roll event was September 30, 2012. Kate was fired a few days after that. Remember a while back, she declared on twitter that she got 'very close' to going to Portugal? Hmmmmm......... I can't help but wonder if her thinking she was going to be sent to Europe to simply run was part of the 'series of events' that led to her termination. All speculation of course, and I don't really care, but the dates sort of line up.

One of the threads is a sheeple is saying why do we go after Kate and not the Dance Moms, they are both exploiting their children.

**************************************************

Amy2, I sincerely hope you're not calling me a sheeple. I've been on this blog a long time. No one is allowed a different opinion? Everyone has to agree on everything? That's being a sheeple so maybe you're one.

Amy2 said...

Jo,

I am not a sheeple. I know that I have done my part to bring awareness to exploiting children.

And, no, we do not have to agree on everything or anything. That's was give and take is all about. And I welcome all points of view.

My point is going after Kate and not the DMs has been called to question. I say, if the poster is not happy with whats going on, do something about it. Just don't sit and whine, make a difference in children's lives.

And for the record, I was not directing my comments to you.

Dwindle - a belated Happy Birthday to you! I keep holiday decorations up until Jan 6 - the Epiphany/Orthodox Christmas as well. I'm lazy. I own it. Cannot deal with taking it all down when it seems like I just got it all up. It's too sad for Rocketman. He helps, but we have to do it in small batches. He really, really misses the kids and grandkids. I do too, but not the depression he goes through - particularly after a visit by the Chicago contingency. I know I'll see them soon. He does too, but that after holiday letdown gets him every year.

From the episodes I've seen he is a very, very selfish and egotistical man. Some of the wives, well, like maybe two of them, seems very down to earth and normal and I don't know how they STAND him. I wouldn't say he's a narcissist but he is very self absorbed and is perfectly willing to hurt the kids for the end result because he's right.

I remember there was an episode where they interviewed some of his childhood friends and they were all basically like, yeah he's a fame whore always has been. Yikes.
________________________________________________

Oh no, exactly how TLC likes them!! How do they find these people?
===========================
I think the casting director sits behind a two way mirror for a while and just watches. Most of those self absorbed, fame seeking reality show wannabes never met a mirror they didn't like.

Auntie Ann: "The producers of a documentary don't tell the subjects what to say or how to say it, they just film things as they happen."

Count me in with Heather, Fido, Jo and all the other posters here who think Dance Moms IS exploitive. Like Auntie Ann wrote, a real documentary never ever interferes with the life of its subjects. The main goal of a documentary is to educate, to inform. It's a "document", a "testimony", something you eventually can refere to and from which you can learn how it was, say, to be a farmer's wife in such and such location at such and such times.

To insure that what the're filming is as close to reality as it can be, -being very well aware that the mere act of filming one's life is disruptive enough to alter its reality-, documentarists follow a strict code of ethics, the very first rule being not to meddle in their subjects lives. And if nothing particularly exciting happens during the filming period, so be it: that was, for example, the life of these boys in that dancing class, that year at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. And that's why documentaries almost never are box office hits: most of them do lack drama.

A reality show is up and foremost... a show. It has to be entertaining. To achieve that, the producers has to meddle in their subjects lives and exploit everything that will help that purpose. Little girls learning to dance week after week definitely isn't riveting material for a televison serie. Not very different from the little boys at the Bolshoi.(A very good documentary available on You Tube, by the way...) So the producers exploit their private lives, digging in probably what is most precious to those little girls, their relationship with their mothers, exposing the moms' foibles, real and completely fabricated, to create the drama for everyone to see.

When they agree to participate in the show, I don't think any of those little dancers had any idea their own mother would come of as horribly as they are shown. And that what bothers me the most with that show. Not the dancing, not Abby's teaching, not the pyramid, not even the cheesy costumes, but the fact that the producers are exploiting a very important part in the little dancers' private lives to create drama, entertainment, a... show. A show. Not a documentary.

It's not as worst as what the Gosselin 8 went through, but I still think those little dancers' sting on that show will eventually, somehow, sometimes, have negative repercussions in their personal lives. And, for that reason, I, too, chose not to watch Dance Moms.

A six-year-old a "mess" because the show ended? How do these people deal with real heartbreak and painful situations in their lives, if five minutes into a defunct reality show they are complete messes? I don't know, but I shake my head when I think about these fans facing conflicts in the real world. How do they cope?

What if Kate signed up Mady for voice/acting lessons and filmed the crap out of her as she went from lesson to audition and had a show on Lifetime?

Would that show be in the category of K+8 or DMs?

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Well Mady had already had the crap filmed out of her for five years so in my opinion filming even two seconds of that child is exploitive hands down. Even if its just Mady eating an apple.

Hheather,

sadly I think that is what kk is shopping out. I would't surprise me.

Still wouldn't watch it. Poor girl is already over-exposed.

Let them do that in private, no need to see the rejections etc on camera.

I troed acting for a while, it can be brutal

Anonymous said...

My point is this:

If Kate were to do it to Mady = bad.

But, if moms on DMs do it to their daughters = OK.

What's the difference??? Because it's Kate? Filming before doesn't matter, it matters as to what is on NOW. So people would be supportive of getting Mady off the air, but DMS? Eh, not so much.

Don;t mean to offend, but I don't get that line of thinking.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

No one said Dance Moms was "ok", Heather so I'm not sure what to tell you. A different beast does not equate to "ok". Seeing merit in some areas does not mean anyone is endorsing the entire thing as "ok". It's not okay.

fidosmommy said...

If invited, would I have gone a day with the Gosselins on any of the trips they had, or even a day at home? Nope. No desire to be a part of that, even as a silent observer behind the scenes. There was no point, nothing was being accomplished by that family. They had no point worth filming, in my opinion.

If invited, would I go watch the Dance girls practice? In a heartbeat. As long as their mothers took the day off. It's the moms who make this some kind of a freak show, not the
girls. The girls are making beautiful art and
their art is worth appreciating. They have a POINT in being there. The Gosselins really didn't.

Locals often go to basketball practices, football practices, baseball practices, etc. around here. We don't have a swimming team, but those practices are pretty interesting to those who love swimming. I wish I could hang out at the school pool and watch them train - but alas, that won't happen. I miss the world of competitive swimming.

That's why I have less trouble with Dance Moms than with Kate. The end product is dance! Good dancing by well trained students.

Full disclosure - I don't watch Dance Moms any more because of the mothers. They ruined a beautiful display of artistic talent for me.

O.K., fair. Dance Moms is certainly not as bad as Jon & Kate. And the one big reason for me is that at least the mothers on DM were never presented to the public as role models, like the Incredible Kate was. Just to think that overworked, overwhelmed, tired young moms were impressed by her mothering style gives me shivers, I swear.

Finally, just to make myself clesr, I'm not pointing any finger at anyone who chooses to watch DM. In spite of its exploitive choices, I can understand the train wreck factor attraction effect. It's just not for me. Like somebody wrote earlier, I, too, have a hard time watching little girls cry .

Kate's website really is a mess, isn't it. I haven't been there for a long, long time, and I just checked "coming events." She lists the marathon for December 4, but when you click on the link, it takes you to the November 17, 2013 run. If you click on the Steve Irwin Day (which she says is November 16), it pulls up the November 15, 2013 date. She also announces that she will be joining them in Australia, but I think this is from the past event, and not that she will be at the 2013 event. Such a poorly organized blog, with erroneous information. Fashion and beauty and other topics are from 2011, and the "inspiration" is still "coming soon." I guess nothing inspires her, other than platitudes from her faithful tweeties.

I remember all of the hype when she was on Today and made the big announcement about this wonderful website to keep fans connected to her family, where they can check in and learn what's happening in their lives.

She quickly lost interest in maintaining that site, didn't she? No more Menu Mondays...what are the sheeple cooking on Mondays without those recipes?

Things we can expect Kate to tweet during her manic tweeting phase after she returns from the (working?) vacation:

1. The kids were surprised and shrieked with delight.

4. Hints about a surprise for her fans. (Again, filming.)
5. The kids thanked her a gazillion times x8.
6. The kids told her she's the best mother in the world a gazillion times x8.
7. She'll be sooooo sad to see them go back to school. (Let's laugh.)
8. Complaints about getting back into the early rising routine.

PJ's, plantar fac. If that is the horrible heel pain especially when you get up in the am, have a cheap way to take care of it. It's similiar to an ace bandage, an elastic like band for your foot about 1 and 1/2 inches wide. Slip your foot into it. It supports your arch. It should rest at your instep and over the top of your foot. Get two. Wear one one day, wash it by hand and let it air dry while you wear the other. Thin enough to wear with shoes. I was almost crawling the first few steps in the am and I got IMMEDIATE relief. Wore those for a few weeks and haven't had the pain in years now. Saw these in a catalog along with the really expensive devices. It supports the arch so the tendon doesn't contract at night. That's what hurts so much. I know podiatrists have this. They just cut the width you need. Hope this helps.

Hi carolina peach and thanks. I had a pretty severe case in both feet from running and it required physical therapy and a brace. If you get it again, know it is an injury caused by tightness in the calf. The injury is caused by the pull on the arch and yes, the pain is in the heel. I had that pain all day long. You can stretch, stretch, stretch those calves as much as you can, and if it comes on, roll your arch hard on a hard ball, or better yet, a frozen water bottle. That massaging helps release the fibers. Hopefully you will never suffer again!

Kids first, www.footsource.com has some great products. The best thing you can do is stretch those calves, ice that heel, and massage that arch, several times a day. My PT had me doing it 3x/day for 3 minutes at a time. . I got a brace at Target, which keeps your foot at a 90 degree angle while you sleep. The muscles cannot tighten/shorten that way. It helps a lot.

When I got awake, I couldn't even walk to the bathroom...so much pain, and I had a full day ahead of me with the kids at MGM Studios. Ouch. By the end of the day, no pain, but when I woke up the next morning, it was the same thing all over again.

It took about two weeks once I was home to be pain-free, and I never got it again. Thank goodness.

I agree that KK has never gone twitter silent before when she has the kids....which leads me to believe that whatever she is doing, she does not have the kids. I think when she stopped twittering right after Christmas, that marked the transfer of the kids to Jon.

Bluebird said...

Admin I find it interesting too. Just when we were all mentioning that we thought she was only with the twins, she had to tweet x9. Who says she doesn't read here? What a witch, or should I say b--ch. Does this mean that Jon did not have the children at all during this vacation? Or, because we saw no pictures at Xmas that they were with Jon? What a world, what a world...

I think Milo is staying twitter silent hoping people think she's doing something with Kate. Nothing would please her more than knowing people think they're vacationing together. Once Kate's back to tweeting, Milo will be too.

====================

That's the first thing that crossed my mind. I do think, however, that it was interesting that Milo's last tweets before Kate disappeared was that she (Milo) needed a vacation:

I need a vacation! Winter..I'm already tired of you! I'm gonna dream abt the beach 2night..warm sand/gentle waves/glorious sun here I come!

In the past, when Kate's gone silent, something big happened shortly thereafter. Not always good things - wasn't she quiet before Hoffmans book was released? The cruise idea makes sense though, perhaps it was part of a deal worked out with Cindy when the original cruise was cancelled. However she's making this latest batch of memories, I guarantee she's not paying. Also, Deanna promised her twenties that she'd be around to play over the holidays and she's been silent also.

If she were going to go on a cruise ANYWAY why couldn't she go with her fans?? Even if there were only a few signed up, just suck it up and go. Loves her fans my butt.

If she is on a cruise she does NOT want her fans to know it.

I have never seen a family law order that didn't either split up the holiday evenly, or alternate holidays so one would get New Year's and one gets Christmas, and the next year, you switch. It's as standard as apple pie. The only exception is dad is out of the state or in jail.

She is a desperate woman who can't stand the mere thought of anyone knowing Jon is involved with these children.

Working Woman said...

Wait, so according to Kate's tweet, they're "making irreplacable family memories"?

Say whaa??? But wait Kate, what you are doing now is not being filmed by a TLC camera crew. So does that mean...you CAN make memories without shoving cameras in your kids' faces and exploiting them? Gee golly, who knew???

That puts her main reality show rationalization of "it was our way of making memories" to hell. Kate you are supposedly making memories now without filming and tweeting very little for once.....why couldn't you do that three years ago, when everyone and his brother was begging you to stop filming???

Anonymous said...

Admin, if there is an order that splits the holiday but Kate wants to take them on an extended trip and the kids would rather go away than stay with Jon, does the court get involved? Or can the parents work it out themselves?

Jane

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

They can work it out themselves but it's not usually a good idea when you don't get along. For instance say it were the opposite and Kate agreed the kids could have an extra day with Jon, she may hold that against him as blackmail forever. Not worth it.

I almost always caution parents to just follow the family law order. Stick to it and a lot of conflicts are avoided. But people ignore that advice all the time.

Kate is with the kids and filming= twitter silence

When Kate went to Australia, didn't the judge allow kate to have the kids for both Christmas and New Years because it was " work".

Kate is only making " family memories" when a camera is in their face, or something has been handed to them free. Kate would NOT pay for cruise for 9 people.

I believe Deanna is her new travelling babysitter/Friend who has replaced Jamie. IMO Jamie and Kate may still be friends, but not for travel! Who in their right mind would continue to travel with kate after the RV disaster!

I have a stinkin suspicion too! Kates way too happy! Hope I am wrong, but not likely....

PatK said...

I don't see Kate taking her kids on two major vacations in one year on her own dime. Even with the beach house this past summer being grifted, this isn't her style. They very well could be filming.

Either way, she's been with the kids a long time now. I suspect she'll take off for some "me time" soon after they get back.

And I have no doubt that Milo knows exactly what's going on.

Point taken. IF another judge allowed KK to have the kids for the entire holiday because it was ''work'', it is so very KK to say that the kids wanted to be with her for the entire holiday, NOT Jon, instead of saying that the kids had to work with her!

I will never believe that ALL the kids wanted to work, and not spend time with their father. Never.

Kate's comment " we asked the kids what they wanted to do for Christmas and they said they wanted to be at home for Christmas and the days surrounding it"... ( hmmm what about the days not surrounding it, like the days before New years, New Years, and the 5 days after that??)

I think a BIG carrot got dangled in front of the kids. What kid would not want to go somewhere exciting at Christmas time? They may feel some guilt about not seeing dad, but hey have been down this path before.

Kate just seemed to giddy to me before Christmas! The only thing holding me back from betting on my hunch is... she did go on a beach vacation that did not exploit the kids, other then posting some pictures to the website, which she did afterwards. I really truly , for the kids sake, hope this is an attempt to re-connect with family!

And of course Survivor and Big Brother are fun to watch! Attractive, well dressed women screaming at each other, kinda boring. Dirty, grimy, muddy contestants screaming at each other while wrestling for some reward, fun to watch!
Guiltiest guilty pleasure without one single solitary redeeming feature: Redneck Island on CMT! Host Stone Cold Steve Austin, at the ritual typical vote contestants, who are all the most stereotypical rednecks they can fine, write their votes with a Sharpie onto a beer cosy and pot it into an Igloo cooler! Perhaps there were so many extra add-ons to the one home that the mortgage holder no longer thinks the price is worth the house, even including the cheap, but expensive add-ons. In order to get a lousy wet bar, they had to take the options of a 5th bedroom and a bonus room, plus the woman wanted blinds, french doors, etc. Ups the price more than the value.

Kate's a FREAKIN' LIAR:

From the OMG! Yahoo article Nov. 30, 2012

"Although the brood typically spends Christmas Eve with their father who lives nearby in Reading, Pennsylvania, "They're at the age now where we ask them," Kate tells omg!. "So they basically dictate it and they want to be home Christmas and the days surrounding it." "

So, Kate, which is it? Either you lied to the public about the kids wanting to be HOME on Christmas and the days surrounding it. Or, if you are truly away on a vacation, then the kids didn't choose that, because you are quoted saying they chose to be home.
Perhaps you are lying about your vacation?
Perhaps you are lying about the kids not being with Jon?
How can ANYONE trust her?

You are a freaking Lying Liar that Lies!

Anonymous said...

I have family members similar to Kate.
They live in a nice home, have nice kids and yet need to brag, lie, embellish and fabricate stories in order to validate their existence.

I've always wondered why they can't get on with their life, enjoy what they have instead of try to make things sound even better than anyone could possibly imagine.

There is only one conclusion. It's the reality that they are unhappy, unsatisfied and disappointed in themselves and it manifests itself so deeply that they project their feelings onto the people they come in contact with (or in Kate's case, the public/twitter folk). Hence, non-fans are jealous, and the sheeple need Kate to tell her lies so that they can live vicariously through her.

This whole issue would make a great dissertation/research project on the psychological effects of lying.

I'm just getting caught up here. 200+ posts down and about 300 to go. My computer died a quick but very painful (for me, at least)death on Wednesday. It's still under warranty, so it will be fixed or replaced free of charge, but in the meantime, I've borrowed a spare laptop from a friend, who upgraded over the holidays and hadn't (Thankfully)donated the old one yet.

Permanent 117 -- I hear you on the shoe issue. I have the opposite problem. I wear a 5 1/2 or 6 AAA. Very few shoes are made in those sizes any more, and even fewer are narrows. Have you tried the kids department? A girl's 4 is the equivalent, in length, to a woman's 6 and the kids' shoes tend to run wider than adult shoes. I've found a few styles of sneakers that run really narrow there. The best thing is, they are much cheaper than adult shoes; even what amounts to the same shoe can be $20 less in the kids' department.

I've never watched Dance Moms, but from what I've read about it here and elsewhere, I don't think I'd enjoy it. I watch a few shows on Lifetime, so I've seen some clips. Yes, it's exploitative, but not as much as the G8's were exploited. The girls obviously want to be in the class and they enjoy dance and the competition. I'm probably going to be flamed for this, but, IMO, kids that age can, and should, have some input into what they do with their lives. Obviously, a toddler can't say "I want to be on TV". However, by the time a kid gets to be 7 or 8, they can decide, up to a point, what they want to do. It's no different from a kid saying "I want to join Boy/Girl Scouts", or "I want to learn how to play the piano", "I want to play on the railroad tracks" or "I want to play soccer". It's up to the parent to make the final decision whether the activity is good for the kid, the kid is able to make the time commitment, and if the family can handle the extra time/stress/whatever involved. I'm not saying the kid should make the decision, but they certainly deserve to make some input into the decision. The thing with the G8 is, they were pushed into it by their parents before they were old enough to express an opinion, and continues to be forced to participate by their mother long after they (or at least some of them) were tired of it and wanted no part in filming. They were smacked around to make them cooperate (Mady being "happied up" by the "spanker")and threatened with abandonment if they didn't straighten up and toe the party line (Cara and "I'll leave you with strangers", all the kids and "Are you Palins or Gosselins?"). IF the protections are in place by law, and that law is adhered to, I don't have a problem with the kids being on TV, assuming their parents agree that it isn't harmful to them. Dance Moms sounds like it's more focused on the moms than on the girls, anyway. Yes, it's stressful for the girls, but any competition is. I remember getting so nervous/excited before concerts or band/choir/piano/voice competitions that I couldn't eat. But the competing was good for me. It taught me a certain amount of poise, gave me confidence, and taught me how to win and lose gracefully.

Yikes. I didn't mean to write so much. My flameproof suit is on. I know some (or maybe all) of you will disagree with me. That's fine. Just keep it respectful, please.

This is true, but it's a heck of a lot easier to drop out of the Girl Scouts than to break a financial contract with a tv network.

The kids in reality tv are bound by financial contract. Even I, as an adult, can quit my job anytime I want. Can the same be said of the girl dancers if they don't want to be filmed?

Sister Wives...I don't watch that show, but have a question about the houses. Why did the one wife have to have a 5th bedroom and a bonus room for a wet bar? Is this a sub-division with a builder who has pre-set plans? Seems odd a wet bar couldn't be added later in the existing plan cheaper. Why would one add blinds, or a washer/dryer for that matter, into a mortgage?

I realize I see these things from a different perspective, but still seems odd.

I do agree with you that competition and performing can be very good for kids who want to be involved in performing arts or even in academic competitions like Battle of the Brains. Being involved in music and theater in middle and high school helped prepare my youngest dd for college in managing her schedule, in self confidence, and ability to deal with stressful situations. I was a band mom, and it was a bonding experience for the kids and the parents.

I have had insoles for over 10 years and use them everyday and still wear the original pair and I don't find it necessary to do any arch stretching (except occasionally) or other exercises any more and my heels never feel like they are ripping apart in the mornings anymore. good luck to you!

OH, and the homes are all the same model, all right next to each other around a circular end of the road. lol A true custom built home builder would have found a much less costly way to give the buyer that simple option. Their builder has a few developments in Las Vegas. They built on a gated street with approx 10 homes, BUT, the lots the Browns chose back up to a major road and locals report that the noise will be considerable. IMO, they did not make wise financial or lifestyle decisions when they signed on the dotted lines for the homes. Time will tell...

Admin, they were. One wife said she got over her upset when she realized her needs would be met. One wife was asked if she would consider sharing her allowance and she hedged. In the couch interview there was a lot of looking down and biting lips and tense silence.

#1 wife cries again....she always feels like the other wives think she shouldn't have equal amounts of anything because her family is so much smaller. The issue then evolved to TIME with Cody. Should he be at the homes with kids more than the home where 1 child is leaving soon. #1 wife cried again.

I sound unsympathetic because, I guess, I am.

Meri's face never moves and she had fake eyelashes on in one of the previews and Mormons don't drink alcohol, caffeine or any other thing that is considered harmful to the body. I think they have their own version of Mormonism and it is nothing like the church teaches and they should not be allowed in a temple just for the alcohol alone. I don't think they let them in; if so, according to their teaching, they don't qualify.

I think I would feel guilty, having just one kid who is one foot out the door to college, hogging the resources like that. It makes me wonder what's missing in Mary's life that she tries so hard to fill it up with lavish houses and extravagance when it's basically about to be just her. When I was living alone I just wanted a bedroom and an office. It was enough work to keep up a small place why live in an empty mansion? Makes no sense.

PJ asked, "Does anyone think that maybe Kate finally offended or hurt Milo and that's why she went silent?"

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Something happened. It's been a week since Milo tweeted. I doubt that she's on vacation with Kate. She didn't even book the cruise with the fans because she was concerned about how Kate would "imagine" her to look. Either something happened between them, or she is ill, or she really is Deanna or Jamie or a nanny who is away with them and she has limited internet access.

SaveTheWorldFromEvilKate said...

I was just reading through twitter and it seems Milo is confined to bed. From what I understand she DM'd someone to let them know that is why she hasn't tweeted. I don't believe it, but who knows.

Last time Kate grifted the beach vacation Milo just happened to be on vacation too. Either way, I'm sure she'll recover when Kate returns. Maybe it's just too much for her not to see Kate tweeting up a storm, especially over the holidays, so bad that she had to take to bed... airly waving my hand over my forehead and off to bed I go...

I think Meri is threatened by the other three who keep giving Kody more children. He was being a dick forcing her to make a decision to have another child. Obviously the money and perks coming in from the show is worth the humiliation, very similar to Jon's situation.

As strange as Milo is, I doubt that not having Kate around over the holidays is enough for her to be bedridden. You'd think she would be on Twitter, furiously defending Kate and shouting praises and accolades, gleefully hinting that she knows where Kate is and when she will be back because Kate shares everything with her. Is it possible that she's seriously ill and can't get to her computer?

================
Could be. She really did get "fired up" over the alleged abortion, and set herself up to speak in behalf of Kate. Milo has no idea what happened in Kate's life when Kate was a teenager and yet she claimed she knows her well enough to speak for her. Of course, she's never met Kate.

MiloandJack
@Kateplusmy8 I KNOW Kate well enuf 2state that she is always foremost a #Mother...her instincts always set 2protect/preserve life of child!

MiloandJack
@msgoody2shoes21 @ashymama2 @Kateplusmy8 That is a bold lie MsGoody! Never happened! Kate values life...would never, ever abort a baby!

MiloandJack
@Truth_Teller201 @msgoody2shoes21 @Kateplusmy8 They think repeatin a LIE will make it so! Kate was raised w/moral values...unthinkable!

What's really interesting about those tweets is this one:

MiloandJack
@Kateplusmy8 H8RS are LIARS. That wasn't in Kate's journal, Robert Hoffman, the stalking liar, said it

Milo is acknowledging that Kate's journal was, in fact, her journal. She must have read it to know what was in it, especially grabbing her toddler by the hair and saying that she was afraid she would seriously harm her child, and yet Milo continues with her celebrity worship obsession.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Not to mention, how does she even know how Kate feels about abortion in general. Heck maybe Kate supports it. She basically slammed everyone who supports this right as not valuing life, without morals and values? Wow. And of course, she hasn't the foggiest whether it's true. I think Milo would be surprised how many people she knows quietly had abortions in their youth not that its any of her darn business. Talk about naive. And finally a scared 16 year old with an overbearing father and a big mistake threatening to ruin their life I would never slam as morally inept. Even Kate. I believe she did it, and I do not fault the kid. Where is the compassion? Geez.

Exactly, admin...my thoughts exactly. Milo has no knowledge of what happened to Kate as a teenager, the circumstances of the alleged abortion (if it happened), Kate's emotions at the time, or her feelings. It was twenty years ago, and yet Milo slams anyone who opts for an abortion as a person without morals and values. She accuses the non-fans as being judgmental when these tweets proved that, when speaking for Kate, she showed herself to be among the most judgmental of all on the issue of abortion. What a hypocrite.

She really worked herself into a frenzy over this issue, and how in the heck would she know if Kate was or is under a gag order?

MiloandJack
@Truth_Teller201 @ljohnson2006 @Kateplusmy8 Kate is apparently still under "gag order" fr lawyers..so its sad that they promote this untruth

What's interesting is that she usually deletes her tweets, but she didn't clean these controversial ones from her Twitter.

PJ's momma said...

I vote for Milo being ill or offended. The reason I don't think she is Deanna or another friend/family member is because she spends a lot of time trying to 'manage' Kate into better behavior with her tweets. A true friend would DM and say, 'You know, you are getting slammed for saying this or not acknowledging (insert tragedy). You might want to do something to clear that up.' But no, Milo does it publicly on the twitter feed, when she's not gushing enough sugar to make Willy Wonka vomit.

I do hope she's OK, I see her as a very lonely/frail person who desperately wants to be accepted by this person, despite the vitriol hurled her way. But Kate stomps on people with little regard for their feelings and Milo would most likely take that very hard if it happened.

My two cents' here...
I think Kate and the kids are at the beach in Alabama again. I read somewhere that the beach house from last summer belongs to Milo, and of course Milo would offer it to Kate and the kids any time they want it. Kate dropped a hint a short time ago about wishing she could tell the kids they were going to a beach. Big hint, there. Why would she even think of that in the middle of the winter in PA? Milo would have taken the bait, and offered the beach house to Kate. And suddenly, Milo is dropping hints about wanting to be at the beach. Hmmm....
I recall that last summer when Kate went to the beach in Alabama, she was spotted in NC. Now she's spotted there again. A regular stopping point, perhaps? Maybe Milo even talked Kate into meeting, seeing as how she's giving Kate free vacations. So, Milo is silent, too. It's all just too coincidental, with all the hints being dropped by both Kate and Milo about the beach, both going Twitter silent, Kate spotted once again in NC. Kate has Milo wrapped around her little finger. I bet she could talk Milo into a limo to make the long drive to Alabama (with 8 kids). The drive wold be much too exhausting for poor little Kate. Anyone agree with me?

++++++++++++++++++++

She was spotted in NC last summer because she drove to Alabama. I doubt that, with the kids on limited time over break, that she'd drive to Alabama again...it would cut the vacation short. It's really a haul from PA and Milo lives in the "deep south" (as she has stated), so Milo wouldn't be much help driving from PA to Alabama. Moreover, was it ever confirmed that the NC spotting was really Kate?

I think that was just a rumor that Milo owns a beach house in Alabama. It was never confirmed...just something someone floated around, or did someone actually prove that the rental belonged to Milo?

"Kate dropped a hint a short time ago about wishing she could tell the kids they were going to a beach. Big hint, there. Why would she even think of that in the middle of the winter in PA?"

+++++++++++++++++++++

I think about the beach every day in the middle of winter in PA! Sigh...

Milo and the beach tweet, though, is suspicious, but Kate said that she was dreaming of the beach, and maybe Milo picked up on that. She wants Kate to think that the two of them have so much in common. Kate mentions the beach. Milo dreams about the beach. Monkey see, monkey do.

Over In Kate's County said...

+++++++++++++++++++

I'm voting along with you. She's either very ill, or offended, or both. Something's up, but I'm willing to bet that she will be back when Kate comes back. She can't give up her Twitter nonsense. It's not going to happen, and if she was offended, she'll get "un-offended" when the object of her affections returns from vacation.

Would Kate really have the nerve to tell her to back off regarding the abortion tweets? If Kate didn't, maybe someone in Kate's camp did.

44444444444444

Readerlady, I have missed you! To you and Perm Name, my grandmother wore a size 7AAA and got her shoes from Red Cross Shoes. Some she even had specially made as her heel was even narrower than AAA on one foot. I thought about this, too, but that would mean that her hubby, her kids, her Sunday meetins, choking while driving, the plumbing leak, her vacation pictures, taking care of her now-deceased aunt, have all been lies. The Lights Out Man, though, makes total sense in a nursing home facility. She's signed off religiously at 11 p.m., and I can't imagine that happening in someone's home.

Nursing homes don't necessarily keep you locked up to never leave like it's prison, especially if it's more of an extended care thing for young and old alike. When my great grandmother was in one the last few years (she lived to be 102!!) we were still able to take her out shopping, to family gatherings, church, other activities. She had lived for a number of years before that with her son, but at that fragile age it was just too unsafe for her to live with family anymore, but it didn't mean it was unsafe to take her on day or even overnight trips now and again. I bet some people can even go on vacations on some kind of pass.

I think where the reputation comes in that you go in and never leave is because sadly for some people they don't have people around or willing to do those kind of social things people love.

And yeah I can't imagine 11 pm with no exceptions EVER would be a strict lights out for any residential home.

Working Woman said...

You think Milo's in a nursing home? I never thought she was elderly.... not that I know her at all, she could very well be.

RE the abortion issue, Kate was so adamantly against selective reduction when she found out she was pregnant with 7 babies, so that is somewhat of an indicator as to what her views on abortion might be in general. But I don't know the story (if there even is one, I do take some of the stuff Robert claims with a grain of salt, respectfully) at all, so of course I can't say much.

I am going to try to say this as delicately and tactfully as possible. Kate may have gotten pregnant at 16, I do not know her and I do not know most of her history. But I have to be honest, she seems like the last person who would have been sexually active at that young of an age. Heck, I have a hard time seeing her as being interested in a sexual relationship with anyone now, at age 37. Even when she and Jon were married and they appeared to have a decent relationship, there never seemed to be anything passionate between them. If I were a betting girl, I would guess that they never had much of a physical relationship.

So I just don't see her as the type who would have gotten pregnant in high school.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Working Women nursing homes aren't just for the elderly. She could be 50 or 60 years old but if she has some kind of issue that requires more formal care they'll take her. I also sadly have a family friend who is only 26 but had a heart attack that cause brain damage when he was only 20, and he's in a similar facility. By the way if you could pray for him or keep him in your thoughts, it's been five years now and his family is really struggling to try to accommodate their house so he can come home.

My aunt with cerebral palsy has been in a "nursing home" for years. It's for young and old alike, she loves it, they have all kinds of daily activities, she's on the committee that runs the whole thing, she hosts Wii events and other fun stuff. THey just aren't what people think.

I think what raised the red flags for me on this whole Milo thing is that she never met Kate. She didn't sign up for the cruise, and it wouldn't have been that far a drive for her to get to the port. She never went to Kate's book signings, or speaking engagements, and for someone as much in love with Kate as Milo is, you'd think that she would want to meet her no matter what, no matter where she'd have to go, and she'd find a way to do that.

Working Woman not at all you didn't offend at all. The fact is the majority usually IS older people which can be really tough if you are a young person there. You must feel like what am I DOING here. But they are there.

In fact a classmate's wife who had a stroke right in our apartment complex when we were in our early 20's (gosh, I have my share of people my age getting hit by catastrophic events) was in an assisted living home down in Riverside for maybe nine months and she has a beautiful blog, in which she wrote quite a bit about how she felt lonely and left out because she didn't have any peers there. I felt awful for her. Thank GOD she is home now and living a fairly normal life. She is an amazing person, she still goes back there to visit the staff and friends she made. That's because she wanted multiples! I think this was all planned out from the time she knew she was pregnant with them, figuring out a way to capitalize on being the parent of multiples, and it worked for her. Her views on abortion now may have had nothing to do with when she was an unmarried teenager, still living at home with her parents. Since her father was a pastor, I would think that as an unwed teenage mother, that couldn't have been looked upon too favorably, and would have brought shame on the family.

Admin so glad to hear that your classmate's wife is healthy again and back to her normal life, and that she has compassion to go back and visit those who helped her through that rough time.

It's always scary to hear about those types of things happening to such young people. Remember Malcolm in the Middle star Frankie Muniz (who was my biggest celebrity crush when I was in middle school)? He just had a stroke at 27. He was riding his motercycle and realized he couldn't see out of one eye! Terrifying. Fortunately, he's doing well now.

But it would be nice if she gave him some credit, maybe once in a while a tweet after they returned from his place, like "Kids had a wonderful weekend with their dad X 8. We are so blessed!"

&&&

I totally agree. Besides I don't buy her whole oh I'm a born again Christian who rescues wounded flies and nurses them back to health. The whole oh we can't reduce thing was just a convenient excuse so she could keep the multiples and make money. I bet my bottom dollar if she didn't think multiples were a path to riches she would have reduced.

Also, you can feel one way and totally change your position on something at a later date. Maybe she feels really guilty about the abortion now. She was a kid, she is a woman now with different perspectives on things. I can't imagine it. Even if I were to have chosen that if I got pregnant as a kid, I imagine I would think about that baby every single day the rest of my life. Maybe that's the reason she was so adamant, because she went through an abortion and knew how it felt.

In any case, the hypocrisy of a sheeple who has spent their entire career working for Kate lecturing us that we just need to walk in Kate's shoe--in this situation being so harsh, impatient, and arrogant about children who end up having abortions, is baffling.

I have all the sympathy in the world for Kate the child. Of course she's an adult now and has to own what she does now, but I give her a lot of leeway on whatever she did as a CHILD, her growing up years do not sound pretty.

I had a friend who had an abortion at 16 and is now staunchly anti-abortion. This is not uncommon. Some may regret what they did, some may just have not grown up yet and made their minds up about issues, such as that. I think we all can agree that we are not the same person at 25 that we were at 16. At 16 you may think many things in society are ok, or not, but your views, opinions and morals often change with maturity and or circumstance.

I think we all can agree that we are not the same person at 25 that we were at 16. At 16 you may think many things in society are ok, or not, but your views, opinions and morals often change with maturity and or circumstance.

Absolutely. A 16 year old is still figuring out how they even feel about issues, what their politics are, where their moral stance is, that's why they are still called children.

Picture this hypothetical scenario, Milo. Your conservative minister abusive father who has physically and perhaps even sexually molested you finds out you're pregnant. He throws a fit, tells you you will disgrace your entire family most of all him, tells you if you choose to have this baby you will ruin the family, you will ruin your life, and most of all you will ruin this child's life. He will disown you if you have the child--don't expect one cent from him. Not for the baby's care, not for anything you need or want. He's taking back your car, he's kicking you out of the house, good luck finding a job at 16 that will pay your way and now a baby's way. Also, you can forget ever contacting the family ever again if you have this baby, you might as well move to Arizona or Canada or something. You tearfully suggest adoption, but he tells you that's not possible, as everyone will know about the pregnancy if they see you. Abortion is the only answer, he tells you. It's your "choice", you choose what you would like.

Make no mistake, this is the situation many young girls have been in. Come on, Milo. How awful to judge them for choosing abortion.
