A 20-something from Texas, this cool, happy guy has been minding his own business on Twitter for more than a year. He likes tacos (especially Torchy's in Austin, mmmm), sports (go Boise State!) and hip hop. In fact he's turned his love of music into a career, producing for up and coming local talent like Michael James Rojas. Many of his tweets come out of the studio where he can often be found, hard at work. How nice to see someone so young with work ethic.

Carlos apparently thought it was funny he happened to share the same last name as some celebrity D-lister named Kate (He's right, it is.). So, clearly as a joke, light-hearted Carlos tweeted this to Kate early this morning:

The Gaping Maw of a Fame-hole did not get it.
Carlos immediately responded explaining that he was just joking around, but that Gosselin actually is his real birth name, it's French--as a firestorm of supporters swooped in to add their two cents. Carlos's supporters, that is. Only a few of Kate's fans bothered to try to explain away the misunderstanding. And apparently, Kate has successfully convinced the masses that Jon is dead, judging by this hysterical tweet from Carlos:
Baw-haha, Carlos! Throughout the day as support for him grew, the young, though quite grounded and wise Carlos continued to try to make light of the mix-up and defuse the situation,
Kate still couldn't accept he really is a Gosselin, but managed to issue a non-apology kinda-sorta apology,
a few D-lister celebrity gossip sites picked up the story, and the saga goes on.
Rock on--er, rap on, Carlos Gosselin. Good luck in all your future endeavors and sorry for your unfortunate last name.

Did Kate say what caused her to think there was a problem with the cover she's trying to replace? What would cause her to go outside and look at the vent? Was the laundry room filling up with smoke?
I think this will be the 26th celebration of Kate's 12th birthday. I think she is psychologicially going to dwell there for the rest of her life, or even regress to a younger mentality as she biologically ages. It's almost sad to see this happen to anyone. It would be a relief if she got some kind of therapy soon, if not for herself then for the sake of her kids.
The part she is looking for is a plastic mesh screen. As far as I know, they either have a hinge or snap out of the dryer vent for easier cleaning. I still don't understand why she thinks she needs a new one.
She's clueless. I'm not sure that she realizes that 1. the lint traps on her dryers should be catching the bulk of the lint and she shouldn't be seeing all that much going outside and 2. if the lint wasn't being discharged outside that the blocked vent could result in a fire the next time she used her dryers. In many ways a danger to herself and her kids.
Even after someone named Mark told her the cover was to prevent birds/animals entering the ductwork and not catch lint, I still don't think she understands.
I hope she calls a pro asap to clean the vent out properly and check to make sure her dryers are working right and that she doesn't just buy a new mesh cover and think she's masterminded a fix for her problem.

Re dryer vents and lint: go outside your house, find opening where dryer vents to outside, grab a handy stick, shove it up there to pull out lint, leave lint on bushes for birds building nests. After every dryer load empty lint filter in your dryer. Takes ten seconds. Make sure connecting hose from dryer to outside vent is not kinked or bent so it is not functioning well.
This is not difficult stuff, but if you never think of household and building maintenance it can seem like rocket science or foreign language.

I don't know whose more creepy, him or Milo. Since he started tweeting back in February, he's only tweeted to Kate or one of her fans. He follows 21 other people, but has not tweeted any of them at all.

So she knows there's a fire hazard letting lint build up on the lint screen, but she can't figure out that there's a bigger fire hazard but not cleaning out the vent duct.

The screen and cover on my dryer vent got blown off in a horrible storm several years ago. A mama bird got in and built a nice nest for her babies in there. It drove my cats crazy. Slowly the cats clawed the flexible hose from the outer side while the peeping birdlets pecked
at it from inside. It wasn't too long before the cats had live entertainment (and lunch, they hoped) flying around the house. I got them out and that night I had a bat come in through the vent hole. The next morning the bat was removed and the dryer vent was disconnected, hole closed up. I've been hanging my clothes to dry ever since. No dryer, no dryer fire!
I'm a big believer in the past makes who are you. People keep mementos from everything else in their past, from a favorite childhood toy to photographs to degrees to awards. Seems odd we don't want people to keep a memento of a relationship that ended in tragedy.

I keep a good handful of my first wedding photos. It's because there are beloved photos of me and my mom (who is gone now), other family and some friends. DH is ok with it. He doesn't want to sit there and reminisce with me, but knows I like to look at my past every couple of years.

Joy: I agree with Tweet. If you start from the beginning of Doc Martin and keep watching, the characters backgrounds ( and Doc's) will be revealed and make you more drawn to them. Some very sad and some extremely funny ones.The little nuances in dialect and consistencies such as the dog, the gaggle of teen girls and the sets are well-done- I love the series.
Also snow can block a vent- must clear it, if in PA there is as much snow accumulation as here!

Regarding the dryer-- you must clean the lint screen every time and try to get the lint out further with a vacuum and lint brush. But really, you need to take the skirt off the bottom and really get in there about twice a year to get the crap out.
When DH changed out our thermister (moisture sensing thingy) when the dryer just wasn't working quite right and we need to run it again and again for good drying, he pulled out a wad of lint.
Now, I marked it down on our calendar that twice a year, he or I will take the dryer apart (easy) and dig out the lint that's built up, that you can't reach normally.

I am married to a widower. We have been married almost 16 years. I never met his first wife. There are still some reminders of her in the home we share.

When I read some of the really, really insane things they say on Twitter, it shows how really slow on the uptake some of them are, and how very helpless. Kate needs them and they need her. Birds of a feather...
For those of you who are into British dramas now, another really good one is "Ballykissangel". It is an excellent drama set in a small village in Ireland. It revolves around a young priest who has recently been assigned to the village church, and his interactions with the residents. Very sweet, some drama but mostly day to day dealings with and activities of the people who live there. Some of the episodes are available on Amazon streaming, and the entire series is available on DVD. Again, I highly recommend "Army Wives", too. Excellent series. The first 6 seasons are on Netflix and the current season is on Hulu and the Lifetime website the day after it airs. Superbly acted, very true to life, and very moving.

There is no way to confirm this and it will continue as long as Kate wants it to continue -- or until someone offers concrete evidence to confirm it.

My observation is that a high percentage of people here are very interested in psychology and sociology. Someone like Milo is a goldmine for us. I can understand if you don't understand that interest, but you could say someone who studies birds is obsessed with birds. I don't get it, but I don't think they are obsessed. It's just their interest area. Same with those who study people who differ from the norm. It has nothing to do with obsession. It's just an interest. Milo could be anyone. She could swap places with someone else. I will always be interested in this. I have also long had a fascination with the psychological impact of being a child star either good or bad--this was ages before I ever even knew of Kate. Shrug.

After years and years on Soap Opera message boards, I agree with you, Penny. At first, it was shocking to me that over 60 year old ladies were the most vociferous fans of young soap actors...but after years of dealing w/their vicious attacks on anyone that was not a fan, I just accepted it. I see the same behavior with KK fans.
I know for a fact that at least one person trying to do outings was a senior citizen. I don't mean to suggest they were Milo, I don't think so. Just going to Remona's point of the older demographic. Part of it is they have more time maybe? If you look at representatives of fan clubs for various celebs I have heard they are often older too.

If Milo is as she says, and unwilling/unable to actually meet Kate, due to illness, distance, finances, whatever– Kate should thank her lucky stars. Because even if she (Kate) doesn't realize it (and she probably doesn't), Milo is starting to get into VERY dangerous territory with this celebrity obsession.
I know most people would liken her to Mark David Chapman and John Lennon, but that's not the best analogy. MDC felt in some way that Lennon was his doppelganger and that he had to eliminate him.
I would liken Milo's type of obsession to that of Valerie Solanas, who shot Andy Warhol (he survived). She wanted to be a member of the Factory (I believe she might have been for a shot period, or at least was affiliated with it) and pursued him for years in order to get him to film her screenplay. He ignored her and rebuffed her- she shot him.
Let me make it clear that I am not saying Milo is going to trundle up to Pennsylvania and shoot Kate. But this kind of slavish devotion, coupled with 'pouting' when she isn't being acknowledged, has a very dangerous precedent.
Admin, any thoughts on doing a post on Celebrity Worship Syndrome? It has such a trivial name, but can be so dangerous.

For many, such as myself, it's not an obsession but rather a fascinating study into the world of delusional fans. Milo is obsessed with Kate because Milo loves Kate and presents with all of the symptoms of the last stage of Celebrity Worship Syndrome.
Milo differs from the societal norm. She (or he) exhibits an addictive disorder in which she inserts herself into the celebrity's life. Does our DNA set us up for celebrity worship? Is it an abnormal pathology just waiting to happen, and out of her control? Sociologically speaking, does someone like that suffer from anxiety, depression and social dysfunction? Exactly what makes her "tick?"
It's the psychological, as well as the sociological aspect of it all that intrigues me. I doubt that Milo is fascinated with Kate for the same reason. It's her rocking body that attracts her to Kate.
I just finished watching Bio of Betty Broderick and I was struck how similar emotionally and mentally Kate is like Betty. Betty shot and killed her ex-husband and his new bride, Linda, to death. Now, I am not saying that Kate will go to this extreme in her actions, rather just thinking about how similar these two ladies are.
Betty drove her husband, Dan, away with her demands and cried poor me. Dan gave her a house, and lots of money in the form of spousal support. But it was enough. Betty wanted the lifestyle that went along with being married to a prominent lawyer. Yet Betty bashed Dan whenever she could and to whomever would listen. Sound familiar? Betty used her kids as pawns and then sent them to live w/Dan when they were of no value to her. Betty was/is delusional about what she did and has never taken responsibility for her actions.
Everything bad that happened to Betty was Dan’s fault, never her own. Betty used her lawyers to fight Dan. And when the trials (there were two trials) were in progress, Betty ran to media to “tell her side of the story”. And for the longest time the media believed what Betty told them. The press initially did not seek the truth about Betty.
The similarities are so eerie.

I do think that due to their age, they have more time...but some also have more income, enabling them to send gifts and travel to any personal appearances the soap actors might have. The difference between the soap actors and KK that I see is that the soap actors used the fans to indicate interest to the powers that be, thus insuring that their character was given more story, and keep their job. I don't remember even one that used the fans in order to grift for freebies, the way KK does. She stands alone in her greed.

When I was narrowing down my choices for major either psychology or sociology was third in line. I had the best sociology professor. What a great class that was. He ALMOST got me to major in it. Remona that totally makes sense! Income must play a big role. And I can see how older people would have more pull with networks as opposed to young teens because older people are buying the things that they advertise.
In other words a campaign to bring back a soap character from the young teen crowd may not get a lot of attention but if older people do it they might take notice.
I've been a bit surprised by the demographic of some celebs, but now I think that it's not that their fans are all older, it's just that the older ones are able to position themselves with the most presence. A teen can't go to a cast reunion or send a gift because they don't have the money and they don't have the time or resources or skill to run a fan club. Doesn't mean the teen fans don't exist. Thanks for explaining that.
Oh by the way I've also seen older fans bully younger fans. That makes sense now too.

We've all talked about Catfish and the concept of 'Catfishing'. I admitted before that I WAS a 'Catfish' for about 5 years in an online gaming group. I pretended that I was older, had a family, was of a different ethnicity/religion, and lived in a different country. What I DIDN'T fake was my passion for this group. I loved it, I loved gaming with them, I loved their character stories, it was just great.
I didn't join as 'myself' because I was too embarrassed to admit I was that nerdy. This was around 2000- nerdy girls weren't exactly the norm. Why did I pretend to live in another country? So that I'd never have to risk meeting any of these people and blowing my cover.
IF Milo is 'Catfishin', then she will come up with every excuse possible to avoid actually meeting Kate. Her passion is real, even if she isn't. The words she Tweets Kate are HERS, and she (IMO) is completely real with them– even if the persona that Tweets them isn't.
That would still scare me to sh!t.

Maybe someone has that tweet or can find it -- but, to me anyway, it spoke volumes about how Milo sees herself and why it's doubtful she'd ever meet Kate in person. However, now that Kate's actually said "I love you" to Milo, maybe that'll change.

Lifetime has changed so much, it used to be a favorite channel of mine. I haven't watched it the last few years because it seems to be going after a weird mixed demo group, ie. Dance Mom watchers and the new Bates Motel show.
Also, is anyone else fed up with the ridiculous amounts of graphic violence, gore and blood on tv these days? Or is it just me? I remember when writers actually wrote a storyline. Now they just go for blood and guts. Reminds me of comics who rely on profanity instead of humor.

I could never get into The Sopranos because it was just too gross. Interestingly, I love Sons of Anarchy, but cover my eyes when the violence comes.

It's the hallmark of a narcissist, isn't it? At least mine was totally like that. Any criticism was met, when not with raging anger, with a cry of being wounded and misunderstood.

I've noticed that with controversial celebs, the worship and over the top defense of them and those of the opposite opinion is fairly common. It seems that celebs that mind their own business, work hard, and avoid controversy, are much better able to stay out of the fray and their fans don't step over the line. I wonder if with social media making instant and anonymous communication so much easier if the 2nd and 3rd stages of Celebrity Worship Syndrome are becoming much more prevalent. It seems that it is or maybe we're just hearing about it more often.

For anyone curious to know what Haroset is-
Haroset:
6 apples - peeled, cored and chopped
1 cup finely chopped walnuts
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon white sugar
3 1/2 teaspoons honey
1/3 cup sweet red wine
Place the apples and walnuts into a large bowl. Mix together the cinnamon and sugar; sprinkle over the apples. Stir in the honey and sweet wine. Serve immediately, or refrigerate until serving.

Because she needs an audience. She's the Queen Ewe, and as such, she has to have the envy of the underlings who hang on every word, wondering if she's going to give away any secrets. Her thing is making the others think that she and Kate have bonded in some mystical, cosmic way.
Oh course she'll yap all about her. Duh. It's her birthday. In her mind's eyes let me think...it was the day she'd one day be a step closer to having kids of her own? Or somethind as equally stupid.
My own experience as a child I can only relate that my mother was the same way on her birthday. If you didn't give her card or aknowledge it in some way, the expression is hell as no furry like a woman's scorn if I'm correct.
Not really worried about that anymore since she's entirely cut out of my lief these days, but Kate's kids they're probably warped into it's something you do and you'd better do it fast.
It'll be the usual--me, me, me fest. No surprise.

Is it any wonder that even Kate's fans are fed up with Milo? I've never heard of Celebrity Worship Syndrome before reading here but I think Milo makes an excellent case study.
I personally don't care if someone wants to call my interest in the psychology of the whole thing an obsession.
I'm fascinated how someone's brain can perceive a reality that doesn't exist outside their own mind. How do people go from being part of the collective conscience to standing alone adamant that their reality is the true one when so many others see it differently?
How much disconnect is there? Does it spill over to other aspects of their lives or is it concentrated only in one area?
To me, Milo's insistence that Kate is an amazing human being, wonderful Mom and deserves the world's undying devotion is akin to someone telling me the sky is really green.
Uh, no...it's not. It's blue. Something wrong with YOU, not the rest of us.

We always have Moroccan chicken, made with dried apricots, figs and cherries. This year, I made a potato/rosemary kugel (means pudding, but it more like a giant baked potato pancake, and a cauliflower/leek kugel with an almond/parsley top crust.
I made fresh horseradish, made with white balsamic vinegar--totally worth it!
And, of course, Matzoh ball soup, hard-boiled eggs (no-stress thanks to the baking soda tip), charoset and some other side dishes.
The biggest challenge is timing the food so that it is hot, but not dried out, while conducting the Seder readings.

Watching tv last night, I turned to my husband and said, you'd think by the tv shows today, every time you step out of your house, you'll be kidnapped, raped, murdered, shot or beaten. It's as though every show is about base, evil people, as if that is the norm in the U.S.
I had a friend who loved the Saw movies, shudder. I just don't get it. I'm at the point where I'm going to cancel my cable. I hate watching violence, it's just not my thing. And it's all violence.

Yes, because she is. Not only doesn't she check weather reports, but she doesn't know what is coming down at any given time. I remember one of the last times it was supposed to snow and Kate said the kids loved to shovel and they were outside doing the driveway. That was the day that it rained, so I guess they were shoveling rain.

Wow. That's the first time I ever saw that.
Talk about sad. Except, I didn't see any moisture coming out of her eyes or rolling down her cheeks. That amount of crying would send most people to the Kleenex box to blow their nose and wipe their eyes. Hand wipes don't do too much to dry the face or catch the nose drip.

For anyone curious to know what Haroset is-
Haroset:
6 apples - peeled, cored and chopped
1 cup finely chopped walnuts
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon white sugar
3 1/2 teaspoons honey
1/3 cup sweet red wine
Place the apples and walnuts into a large bowl. Mix together the cinnamon and sugar; sprinkle over the apples. Stir in the honey and sweet wine. Serve immediately, or refrigerate until serving.

That's my basic recipe too, except I cook the whole thing on top of the stove. It ends up like a sweet and spicy apple sauce, red with nuts. It's really delicious and everyone wants more. Oh, and I use grape juice instead of wine, so sugar is minimal.
I cook it until it thickens up a bit, because
charoset is supposed to represent mortar. That's why I decided to start cooking it. Cooked or uncooked, it is a wonderful part of the Seder!

Just watched my sister make haroset for tonight's seder at our son's, I made a lemon cheesecake with a matzoh/almond crust this morning and will be finishing the matzoh balls for chicken soup at his house shortly. Boiling more eggs as sadly that baking soda tip did not work in my pot :-(, but all is well otherwise. Chag Sameach Pesach to all who observe. And yes, in our ecumenical family, there will be children hunting Easter eggs next weekend.

It's all part of the Celebrity Worship Syndrome. She has inserted herself into the life of the celebrity. Because she believes she has an intimate connection to that person, she needs to know what's happening in that person's life on a daily basis, thus the weather report.

I don't have a Twitter account and know nothing about terms of service (or whatever), but when someone is suspended, how do they get back on immediately? Carlos said he was suspended for a brief time, but he was back on almost right away. How do you prove that you haven't violated their TOS, showing that you did nothing wrong? If someone has reported you (which I assume the sheeple did), does TOS look at both sides of the issue...or exactly how do they determine that you quality for reinstatement?

Since September 12, 2011 when the final episode of Kate Plus 8 aired on TLC, the famous mom has had a hard time getting a job. She just appeared on Celebrity Wife Swap where she switched places with Kendra Wilkinson, but other TV opportunities that Kate hoped would emerge, haven’t so far.
Now Kate has received even more bad news, finding out that her new book proposal has been rejected from at least two major publishers.
“Kate cannot understand why there is no interest in her book,” one insider tells me. “She never had trouble selling books in the past and refuses to believe that since she lost her show her star has faded.”

Proof that Milo has never met Kate or has seen her up close. I have never seen anyone in their twenties who was cursed with the turkey neck that Kate has. With all of her alleged plastic surgery/botox it is surprising that Kate hasn't fixed that problem yet.
Some fool at Gather is reporting that K8 is "happiness challenged".....is that the new code word for being a "bitch?"
Reasons why no major publisher will publish Kate's cookbook:
1. No clear culinary point of view
2. Limited pool of possible buyers for moms who need to cook for large families.
3. Kate has never shown culinary talent. Her skills are middle of the road for a home cook. She has no particular strong points.
4. Anyone can research Kate's blog and see abysmal photos with mainly dump and stir recipes
5. Lack of imagination in her dishes. Kate's recipes are reiterations of dishes that are staid.
6. Kate is on film stating that "real cooks" don't need recipes. Way to insult potential buyers. You need my cookbook because you suck.
7. Kate's current reputation is that of an entitled Reality tv star has been. She's overexposed and generates very little sympathy for all of her woe-is-me hand wringing. Read ANY comments about her and they are overwhelmingly negative.
8. Why should she get a fat paycheck for putting out mediocre recipes and nasty photos when there are food bloggers that do both amazingly for FREE.
9. If her "Mediterranean Wrap" is any indication, she has no sense of portion sizes, flavor profiles and provenance of ingredients, and is too lazy to even spell them correctly.
That about covers it. Kate should have kept her ego in check and continued to play the Mom role instead of turning into a plastic surgery Barbie doll sex kitten.

I'm not sure if you were listing these in order of the worst but I have to say I agree that this is number one. What IS her point of view? She is schizophrenic. One minute it's anorexic meals, the next it's easy meals from canned goods, the next it's organic, the next it's grow your own or farm your own, the next it's fun kids meals, the next it's large meals in crockpots, the next it's made from scratch with a bread machine. It just makes no sense. She's all over the place. If you look at almost any other major mommy blogger out there they have a theme and stick to the theme.
For instance Pioneer Woman's point of view is delicious and savory all-American church cookbook country cooking from scratch. She doesn't deviate from this. She doesn't one day suddenly try to act like it's low-fat day or on another day whip out a bunch of organic produce. She is what she is. She gets it, you develop a view and stick to a view. By the way Pioneer Woman has an absolutely fascinating "behind the scenes' post about some episodes of her show she's been filming. She shows where the store all the culinary equipment for the show, she shows pics of the crew and tells funny or interesting stories about them, she shares several other pics showing how the episodes are made, some of her, some of the kids, some of her guests, some of the crew. She talks about how everyone felt about the cameras hovering as they all gathered for a meal.
This is what you do to promote things you are doing. Everyone loves a "how it's made" post. She did it with tons of pics, lots of witty stories, and overall made it very interesting. The ability of real mommy bloggers compared to Kate is just vast. She doesn't try to say I'm working on something just keep refreshing and eventually you'll see. She lets you in on the process and doesn't try to hide anything.
Well no wonder Kate won't claim this "ninth" child, after all I mean she stated the future child she lost was a girl and since this guy is obviously male no wonder she's up in arms.
Real women raise their sons on how to treat women, and also how to be treated by a woman. Good luck when the kids look for home to put you in because your dream of them taking care of you? Yeah...okay...reality star who lives inside a reality....interesting but true.
Maybe Kate's cookbook will about cooking with eggs for people with 50 chickens or more .
The Pioneer Woman has a show and cookbooks because she's got talent. She started with a blog that has mind-blowing photos and here's where I think PW excels: she tells a story that draws you in.
The bucolic farm and animals, children engaged in life and family, real friends and community and a constant theme of comfort food recipes that are never pretentious.
Kate has a crappy blog that she has NEVER kept on a schedule ( BIG no-no in blog world) and that shows pedestrian (at best) food with horrible photographs.
Who is going to take Kate's cooking and recipes seriously when she shows such utter disregard for the art of cooking and food photography. It's as thought everyone should think she's amazing because she's a mom who cooks for 8 kids. It doesn't come that easy. You have to earn it.
I don't get this multi day taunting of 'I have a secret. Keep checking back!'

In Robert's book, there are Kate's entries about her appearance on the Rachael Ray show and her team had to come up with ideas for her to demonstrate!
If I were tasked with a cooking show segment, I'd have SO MANY ideas, but there's Kate, being told possible recipes to show, like plastic baggie ice cream.
She couldn't come up with anything herself??
The thing is, when the rubber meets the road, Kate is/was a manufactured product of TLC. A brand. All flash and no substance.
You know I think a big difference is that many bloggers much like Pioneer Woman have a real life going on outside of TV and blogging. This creates opportunity for blog fodder. And I agree she is a good storyteller which is also essential. You have to know what is interesting or how to make something interesting or funny. She also has a lovely sense of humor. Instead of being upset that her children are "photo bombing" (sticking their smiling faces in the background of photos while she's trying to take a picture), she thinks it's funny and cute. And it is.
She is constantly referring to "our friends since I was a baby" or "our friends since our babies were a baby" or "our friends whose parents and grandparents were friends with our parents and grandparents!" My parents, Ladd's parents, my brother, Ladd's brother, our employees. She also clearly gets what makes each of her kids tick and her adoration for each of them as individuals is endearing. I guess it could be argued the whole thing is a facade, maybe so, but the point is she knows how to write this all up so it works. She has an active social life, friends, a big family, extended family around. There is a real sense of family and community that is engaging and it's why she has millions of viewers.
I don't expect Kate to be as talented as PW but for God sake at least TRY.
Paula Deen's theme was butter, butter, more butter and them some kind of cream. Heavy cream, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, it didn't really matter, just something cheesy. Then more butter, probably. And she never deviated from it. Until she got diabetes. Now she's cooking lighter. I used to watch her while I was on the treadmill, of all places.

To me it's sad in the sense that she is so green (after five years!) about how to properly promote yourself. It really speaks to her intelligence. She didn't notice how EVERYBODY ELSE properly promotes themselves in five entire YEARS in the business? That's astonishing. It's sad that she thinks she has the first clue how to manage herself. She fancies herself Taylor Swift in control of her "career" with direct control of all the decisions and sadly a 23 year old is doing it better.

About PW's photos I actually think they are mostly just self taught okay to good photos with a few fantastic ones in the bunch.....but here's the thing. If you go back to her very first posts her photos were terrible. But, she knew she could improve and so she read, studied, practiced and her photos got better and better. They are definitely professional blog worthy. She did it herself, from the ground up. She could have hired a photographer but she decided she wanted to do it and she did.
Her photos still get better literally year to year. She's always learning. That's what I love about life. Learning and growing. She does that even at her age and I find it endearing. If you want to do something well, attack it. Throw yourself into it. You will get better eventually.
So...Kate announces that in addition to the winners of the "contest" being announced, she is still teasing about "big" news she will reveal later this week that will make all her tweeties happy....hmmmm...naughty but nice Rob posted an article that said her cookbook was turned down by a 3rd publisher....so what could her stupid news be. My guess??? TLC did a special on them during Christmas break. I hope I am wrong and it's just more BS from Kate to get people to "hit" her lame website. #whywon'tsheJUSTgoawayalready!

I don't know if this would help, but maybe someone could very nicely try to tweet her and explain, respectfully, that she shouldn't do this anymore if Kate can't even be bothered to thank her. I don't think it would be effective to just attack her for her stupidity but I think the right person could frame it in a way that could get her thinking. She's very young still. When Kate taunted Jon about not needing a recipe, it was insulting and misleading. Everyone needs recipes. Even if you grew up watching your mom or grandmom cooking, you may have a handful of recipes memorized, but there's so much more out there!
I love my cookbooks, especially the ones that teach me something. And it doesn't have to be culinary fireworks or highly intense recipes that I learn from. I made a simple curried cauliflower soup from my Jacques Pepin cookbook. It added butter *at the end* of the recipe during blending and it made the soup velvety. Normally when I use butter in a soup, I add it at the beginning along with oil to saute my onions etc. Just this little change in this simple recipe was a revelation.
Several years ago, when I decided to get really serious about cooking, I wanted to learn about cooking like I was in culinary school. I wanted to learn techniques, flavors, equipment etc.
I bought Molly Steven's "All About Braising" so I could really understand the technique and apply it. I bought Peter Reinhart's "The Bread Baker's Apprentice" (whew, that's a read!) and other books like Sauces by James Peterson so I could learn classical French sauce making.
There's so much to learn about with food and cooking and baking. I don't get a sense of adventure with Kate's cooking. There's no innovation or insight.
If Kate truly eschews cookbooks, she's really missing out and will never broaden and deepen her cooking skills.

And it shows a willingness not to accept "just good enough." Or, mediocre. PW could have gone alone with her "just good enough" photography but she decided she could do better, and she did. Her blog took off.
For all Kate said about being mediocre, she is actually lazy, mediocre and "just good enough." She never pushes herself to do better than her half-assed attempts at anything.
I'll be surprised if TLC filmed over the holidays. Could have happened, who knows, but I get the sense that TLC is done with Kate.
If they did, I can only imagine the "penalty of severeness" that the kids are under if they dare blab about it.
I think Kate will announce her cookbook.

But, admin, that is all she's probably capable of doing. She thinks it's amazing, awesome, and whatever. I honestly don't think she knows that it's mediocre. To her, it looks great. I think she's really not smart or creative enough to do any better.
