Community bands together to stop production of reality T.V. show

A wealthy neighborhood in Los Angeles' San Fernando valley, where celebs like Justin Bieber and the Jacksons live (along with many private people) is standing strong against a show that wants to film "typical Calabasas" families, including kids.

Keep out, residents say.
At least one community is saying no, they would not do it, too.  A production company has recently been developing a reality show that would film life inside the exclusive The Oaks neighborhood.  But residents are falling back on several rules of their homeowner's association, including restrictions which prohibit filming in the gated community for more than five consecutive days.

A casting call from the production company includes the following:

"We are looking to focus on a total of four to five families who portray the typical Calabasas family. The parents and kids are busy, it's competitive lifestyle and they are keeping up with everything around them. Elaborate family vacations, sports, lessons for their kids from everything from music to football, travelling the country, looking at colleges, tutors....these competitive families push everything in their lives to the limit."

One resident of The Oaks called "Calabasas 91302" in "poor taste" and "invasive." She added, "The reason we are all there is for privacy."

Stand strong, The Oaks.

Funny that the person that said that is Shanna Moakler, former Playboy Playmate and wife of Travis Barker from Blink 182. She played her life out on the reality show Meet the Barkers, which included her daughter with Oscar de la Hoya, and her and Travis's son Landon. The show was on in 2005-06. Shanna and Travis's wedding was filmed for an episode. They also had a daughter in late 2005 but she was only in the last episode before the show was cancelled. They got divorced in 2006.
She didn't seem to think it was in poor taste to film her small children, or to film her and Travis's antics.

I didn't realize that was the same woman! Haven't they long left reality though? Maybe they've had a change of heart. I recall them sort of disappear especially after he was in a bad accident as I recall. Didn't they get divorced right around the reality show time? Maybe she puts some blame on the show for the failure.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 5

In thinking about this I think a former reality show star lends even more credibility to the opinion this show shouldn't be in their community. She of all people knows exactly what's involved with a reality show and how invasive it is. People are allowed to change their minds too.

There goes Milo, bringing up that one subject that Kate does NOT want discussed and tweeting it to the Stir as well. And how does Milo know what "never crossed" Kate's mind?

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 12

WHY does Milo keep brining up the abortion? Did she know Kate when Kate was 17? She hasn't the foggiest notion whether that's really a lie, most haters don't bring it up anyway, and it's a very impolite, personal thing to talk about as to your friend. I would be fit to be tied if some friend took it upon themselves to speak for my reproductive history.

By the way Milo, you are not a bad person if you had an abortion, especially if you are 17 and perhaps might even have an overbearing threatening father promising to kick you out if you keep the baby. I feel SORRY for Kate if this is what happened, she has made it clear she's always wanted babies, and I'm fairly certain if this did happen, she was practically forced into it. She was just a child.

----------------

It wasn't Milo who brought it up and tweeted it to The Stir -- it was Shatzy, who uses the name Milo and Jack. Milo just inserted herself into it when she defended Kate with the "lies all lies" tweet. Milo has absolutely no idea about Kate's life when Kate was 17. She just makes a fool of herself.

Yes on the missed opportunities note, Kirstie Alley really is a genius at staying relevant and rolling in the dough. She should be a case study.

Think about it, what has she really done lately in terms of actual acting? I can't even remember the last movie she made. Nothing. Do we even count DWTS? And I'm pretty sure her season was years and years ago.

There are certain stars that are really good at keeping themselves in A-list circles and making money despite not working. She shows up at big things like the Oscars and stuff!! HA! Especially her being an older woman in Hollywood, the kiss of death out there, she really is impressive. I believe she has incredible drive, work ethic and resourcefulness and that's how she has made sure that she stayed relevant.

Heck she's even still in the tabloids! It's all these 20-something stars and then Kirstie! LOL, wth?!

That's an understatement. Austin has been talking about this special gift he ordered for her for weeks, but crickets from her whether she's even received it, let alone a thank you to him. I'm reminded of Paige and a young girl from UK, I think, who asked for weeks if she'd received their gifts. IDK if she ever acknowledged them, let alone said TY. I don't think she should be encouraging gifts in the first place, but if she's going to continue to do so, she should at least send proper thank yous which btw, Kate, does NOT mean a mention on twitter!

This is why one should be extremely careful about donating to any fundraising cause...

"A New Jersey mom is accused of convincing friends and even her own son that he had cancer in an effort to collect cash from duped well wishers.

Susan Stillwaggon, 35, was charged by Pennsauken police with theft by deception and endangering the welfare of a child on Thursday, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

She allegedly told her 9-year-old son as well as "officials at his school, her husband, and others that the youngster had stage-3 Hodgkin's lymphoma," authorities told the Inquirer. Police say they verified through medical records that the child does not actually have cancer.

Stillwaggon took in $3,500 through fundraisers for her child, according to police."

Today I noticed Milo only follows 4 people on Twitter. She also follows Bullyville and Twitpic. Milo is CONSTANTLY tweeting 2 of the people (Kate of course and a lady from Australia I believe). She will also on occasion tweet Bullyville and Deanna. What is strange is that I have never seen her tweet that guy "Iwana". Isn't this the guy whose wife (ex-wife?) was dying? You would think helpful/full of positivity Milo would reach out to Iwana and offer him a word of encouragement or at the very least check up on him. The whole Milo situation is just very, very very strange, imo.

Very strange. Isn't Iwana the one who, when Milo was in the hospital, tweeted about her condition, that her husband didn't want her to know about Kate's cancelled show because it would affect her recovery? At that time, Iwana and Milo seemed very close.

Any word on Iwana's wife...has he been heard from? He was also going to make a big reveal about something...he had a project and was backed by powerful people, and then there was something about the nanny that killed the children. I'm just remembering bits and pieces.

All the articles I read about the accident said that the young man was speeding. The mother shouldn't have hesitated in pulling out, but he shouldn't have been speeding either.

In a wrongful death suit, this is going to be a case of assigning percentages of fault. I'm guessing she'll probably get a big payout though it may take years, it's very hard to absolve yourself of all responsibility if you were speeding. I don't know how much he was speeding, that will be a factor too.

Wrongful death suits are one of the most callous things to talk about. You literally have to place a number value on an arm, a leg, or even a life. Ex nurse is right that the more monetary value you brought your family, the more money your death garners. When the bread winner dies, the family stands to be awarded far more money than when their three year old child dies. You assign percentages of "fault". For example he is 60% at fault, she is 40%. As long as you are under 50%, you'll get some money. All this about real people who were hurt or killed, but it's how it works.

It was very messy sorting that out. He really, really screwed her. But she didn't say much about him, she did a couple interviews being open about what happened and that was it, done.

Unless I missed it, I haven't heard her mention him in years. I mean why be obsessed over something that is done and over with and won't change? You have to move on from the end of a relationship. Obsessing over it four years later just isn't healthy.

Tucker's Mom said... 110

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 114

Yes I totally agree, she is a softie with a huge heart. She's good ole midwest girl. She was so good to her parents, and seems close with her niece and nephew and other relatives. The way she treated her fan who won a prize with her was above and beyond the call of duty. She devoted herself to giving him the absolute best experience of his life. And I like how obvious it is she and her employees/staff really genuinely enjoy each other. Some of them have been live ins.

Tucker's Mom said... 115

I liked when Kathy's show covered her entertaining the troops in Kuwait (which smells like a fart, apparently). She put her heart and soul into it and wanted every second to matter.

Now that's a wise way to handle this. The celeb
knows fans will be thinking about what they can do to show their fan status. They probably think if they don't send anything it's like they don't care. This is the perfect solution. It was so strange about the SYTTD episode because I had always wanted to see it, but didn't seek it out.

If kate standing there in that wedding dress could of looked into the mirror and saw how she was going to look in 5 years, she would of had a mental breakdown.

On the Seinfeld episode, Kramer cooks all the food in the shower. Elaine's coworker is a germaphobe, big time. The expressions on their faces, especially the coworker when Kramer told them as they were shoveling it down, they loved it, that he cooked all the food in the shower was hilarious!

kate is slipping up trying to keep up with Kendra. If Kendra had of noticed the dishwasher leaking, she would of told Hank and Hank would of called a repairman to come out and fix it. Not GRIFT for a new one!

The picture of her and poor Colin is her lame attempt at damage control of her journal in her own words. Because, um, uh, see, people do you actually believe that um uh I, kate Gosselin would pick up my children by the hair of their 2 yr old head and throw them into their crib and beat them with the wooden spoon??

Not only would you do that, you would accept expensive UGG sandals and gifts in public at a fundraiser to raise money for 2 little girls who were killed in a car accident.

And you accepted them inches away from their framed photos.

You always have said kate that anything you do must be cost-effective. Well, received gifts at fundraiser, remember by 5 till 6 so maybe you and Steve could go out to dinner? Also, are you going to file Steve's one night stand bodyguarding services and a business dinner meeting to the IRS as a "business expense"?

So all you were out were a couple of 3 for 1 dollar books that you have stored in your house to sign, you must still dream that they are still retail price.

Your right, kate. You always make it cost-effective!

I remember that and how I had to actually go searching to find out the back story of why she and Matt got divorced. Kathy Griffin really downplayed it. I think she was completely blindsided by what he did - basically embezzling from her. Whatever you might say about Kathy Griffin - she is good to her family. You never once hear her express anything such as "My parents didn't know how to help me."

I see some very fun comments about Seinfeld (and Kramer) - does anyone else remember Kathy Griffin's appearances on Seinfeld? She played a comedienne who isn't very successful, then starts doing a routine mocking Jerry and it's a hit. It's very funny :)

I've been away for a bit, and now I'm disappointed to return and see that we were right about Kate and the fundraiser after all. So, she "donated" her books and DVDs, huh? Perhaps she did, but she's getting something out of it. She'll inflate the number donated, then claim the inflated number at full purchase price (not the price they'd go for today ) as a charitable contribution on her taxes. Oh, and she got gifts, too. Funny how they knew that she likes Uggs, and knew her shoe size, too. She walked away with expensive gifts and a tax write-off. As we said, Kate doesn't do anything unless there's something in it for her. We really thought there there was hope for her. We'll never fall for that one again, will we?
It's amazing how few copies of Kate's cookbook have sold. It's been available for pre-order for a month, and only about 80 were ordered from Amazon (that's the US, England, and Canada sales combined). Of course, it's also available on B&N, but B&N does not have the sales volume that Amazon does. I expected that it would bomb, but I'm really surprised the sales are this bad. The fans claim to have each ordered multiple copies. That says a lot about how few fans Kate has left. I recall a tweet where a fan speculated that if each of Kate's 150,000 Twitter followers ordered a copy, then Kate could make $1.7m off it. It's funny just how blindly optimistic Kate's fans really are. It will be surprising if the cookbook sells 1,000 copies. 150,000? Never gonna happen. It's just like the cruise. The fans thought that hundreds would line up and Kate would make a fortune. Turns out, only about 30 (from what I recall) signed up. If Kate really has so many fans, as they all seem to believe, then why aren't they buying her cookbook? I can understand that most people can't afford a cruise, but a cookbook? Is Kate really that unpopular? And without the haters there, her twitter numbers are usually in the single digits. I think it's safe to say that Kate's career in the media is over.

I don't know about you, but I think that it's very important to have clean teeth, and fresh breath.

How about we all stand in line, in front of the kitchen sink, and brush our teeth?

That is a joke defending the Kardashians lol! The world doesn't make bigger fame whores.

I'm hiding because I spilled some sugar granules.

OK, it's time to line up on the floor, wearing your free T-shirts that I traded your images wearing them for.

@Kateplusmy8 I get tired of being hurt/insulted every day. May I get the weekend off? LOL #MiloStaysInTrouble :)

Hey! Who brought the boxes of wine and where are you hiding them?

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 178

Milo is constantly having very public conversations on a very public social media site. Why doesn't she go private or DM Kate behind the scenes if she doesn't like it? Newsflash, this is how we used to talk to our friends when using the internet, PRIVATE EMAILS. We never used to put things out there for everyone to see like on FB or twitter. Put on your big girl pants and solve your own problems.

Moose Mania said... 179

Oh and listen up people. If anyone brings moosedogs I'm not eating them. Moosedogs. R U serious?!!!!

&&&&&&&&&&&&

Amen! No moosedogs for anyone. I just can't stand the thought of them being grilled and then thrown on the ground. No moose!

Oscar Mayer wienies are okay, though...no relatives in jeopardy of being ground up with those.

Admin...177,

Ditto! Milo, you put your craziness out there for everyone to see. Can't stand the heat? Well, you know the rest of the saying.

You could get every day off if you a) took your convos private or b) got off Twitter all together. No sympathy at all for your inappropriate behavior and inappropriate use of social media.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 182

I think what goes on on Twitter is over the top, however there is no RIGHT to Twitter. It's freaking Twitter. Get a grip.

The way I see it a key component of bullying is an invasion of your right to "quiet enjoyment." In other words a kid has a right to go to school and not be teased to death. But Twitter....no you don't have that same right. If you don't enjoy cesspools, don't swim in them or swim privately.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 183

Orange you put it so well, "inappropriate use of social media."

Social media was not put here for people to tweet their favorite celebrity 100 times a day, hog them, monopolize them, interrupt them when they are with their children, get jealous of anyone else they happen to interact with, expect good morning and good evenings from every day, take over anyone else who happens to be a friend and do the same to them, bring up inappropriate subjects like abortion, speak for them, and so on.

Well, heck, Milo -- then keep your passion for Kate to yourself and don't make a fool out of yourself every day. It's a no-brainer! Better yet, use your block feature.

Milo enjoys playing victim and being a martyr for her Saint Kate. It's the whole package -- part of her shtick as Chief Executive Ewe.

If anyone serves a granule of moosedog, I will stand her under my tent of shame, pouting, scowling, stomping my feet and making small children cry.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

My left molar cavity is now picking up Sirius XM Satellite Radio reception -- was there something in the stale cereal that would cause this? I particularly enjoyed Auntie's poached eggs and wine cooled in the toilet tank. Was the bottle cap or cork leaking, though? There was a subtle hint of Scrubbing Bubbles in the wine.

localyocul said... 187

Speaking of granules, I posted a comment that I am hiding because I spilled sugar but my comment went poof

THANK YOU, Administrator!!!

[Administrator, in a very snotty tone]
You're not welcome!!

;o)

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 189

You're not welcome! And if anyone ate their crunchy things out of order, heaven help you.

Y'alls snark was in fine form. You still have it.

If anyone is interested in more about this idea of wrongful death, the Michael Jackson wrongful death trial starts Monday and will be televised. I expect a lot of back and forth trying to decide just exactly how famous Michael was, how much money he stood to bring in in the future, and other callous number valuations.

Kate has only has 11 tweets showing on her timeline for the last hour. Of those 11 only 4 are from fans (and Milo isn't one of them).

readerlady said... 191

I get where the one tweeter is coming from. Kim Kardashian is a fame whore and a lot of other unflattering terms that could be applied. However, NO woman deserves to be trashed for her weight or size or shape when she's pregnant. Hello -- growing a human being! She's SUPPOSED to gain weight. And KKar is a petite woman, so she is going to look large, no matter how little weight she gains. By the time she's due, she'll probably be as big as a house. That doesn't mean she's "fat" or "a porker" or even that she gained too much weight. And while we're at it -- no woman should be expected to "rock a bikini" 3 days after giving birth!

Sorry for the rant. I think I had too much rumspringa. The food was delicious and I'm stuffed after having a couple of bites of this and that. I'd love the recipes for this and that, BTW. And please make sure to tell me how you managed to make it look like grey slop. That requires real cooking ability.

@Kateplusmy8 Happy Sunday Beautiful! Hope your day has been fun/relaxing! I did send you an email with some very interesting details

-----------------------------

Oh, gawd. He just isn't going to give up until he has Kate where he wants her -- in his bed, or in her bed. Milo has to be seething with jealousy.

Oh no, so sorry for the punch comment being posted 4 times. Really wanted it to post 8 times, one for each of my 8, count um, 8 kids and the lessons they have learned from the wooden spoon.

Look out KKG, I thing that spoon may come back to haunt you once Robert's book is published. Yes indeed, she can do all the damage control she wants, her days are numbered.

Geez I only had a little sip I thought I screwed the cap back on tight. It's all Jon's fault.

Great brunch Admin. Sure beat figs and olives. I LOL'd at everyone's contributions. Delish!

So....where do we put the dirty dishes?

One of the two dishwashers is broken, therefore no dishes will be washed. Someone better start *laying* on the floor. Volunteers?

Cluck cluck!

MJ's daughter, Paris Jackson went to her biological mom's house yesterday and had a great time. They both went shopping ate dinner and it was also Paris's 15th Birthday!

Paris now says she wants to live with Debbie Rowe!

The Jackson's are outraged.

@Kateplusmy8 thought if you :) @WSJ: To show kids the value of a dollar, make them earn it. The benefits of chores:

------------------

Good heavens, man. What do you think those kids have been doing since they've been born? They did earn it. She spent it.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 199

Wow I had no idea Paris was in touch with her bio mother.

I like Paris, she calls her family out on their CRAP. The kid is old enough to just not go along with every conniving manipulative thing some of them have tried to do to her. I kind of think she is a preview of how some of the Gosselin kids will be at her age.

Wow! I was just thinking about those kids today after Admin mentioned the trial and I was wondering if they felt abandoned by their mother.
