I have seen REAL celebrities tell their fans do NOT send them things. I have also read that when certain REAL celebrities receive gifts they are either thrown away or given to charity. Anyone can claim to be a fan. Or it could be a deranged fan. Who the heck knows. The thing that Kate has done and still does that absolutely astounds me is let her children EAT things sent by fans. If that is true, it shows the absolute GREED of this woman. As I said, ANYONE can claim to be a fan. This woman obviously has money. Yet, she encourages these fans, many are KIDS spending their babysitting money, to send her things. Amazing, the absolute GREED of this woman.

Strange to me too especially since Kate is so well known as polarizing. When a child runs up to you and says Timmy hit me! Most adults with any common sense don't immediately run to Timmy and give him a spanking. Instead they sit down and say okay, Suzy, how awful that Timmy hit you. Let's talk about it. What led up to this? Were you guys fighting about something? Did you do something to hurt Timmy? Or were you just minding your own business playing dolls and Timmy came up and smacked you from behind like John Wilkes Booth?

What's interesting is as you pointed out, I've heard both, it was actually an Iroquois at Girl Scout Camp when I was maybe 8 or 9 who told us calling him a Native American is stupid, that he's an Indian.
I tend to use Native American but it's a little confusing when Native Americans can't agree on what is even the politically correct term.
This whole thing really irks me. I hope Jon and Robert sue. It would royally piss me off if I was Jon to be called out on Twitter in front of my kids by this second rate company whose owner sounds as much of a narcissist as Kate Gosselin. To be threatened on Twitter is ridiculous to begin with. If you have something to go on, put your money where your moutb is and do it through the legal channels, not on Twitter you bunch of cowards.

(By the way, of course I included Jon in the apology. He was in the video, was he not? I find it very, very telling that even though Jon was just as much a part of that video as Kate yet they only wanted an apology for Kate and "family" i.e. the kids since she's made it clear she has no other family. That tells me they are not truly concerned with bullies and protecting anyone hurt by them, but rather they just want to crusade for Kate's agenda. If they really cared, they would have asked for an apology for Jon too. That's all I need to know.)

I also just realized that @sixymomma8 has called her out on things recently like "stealing" money from churches and the state. I also read somewhere that some think @sixymomma8 is Jon's curreent girlfriend.
It would be terribly disappointing if it is true that sixymomma or any other over-the-top Kate critic is actually Jon, or acting with Jon's knowledge or consent. But even if this were true, Twitter would be a completely inappropriate place to deal with such an ugly situation. Kate would certainly be aware of it by now, and obviously knows the many ways she could handle it privately.

I have heard not so good things about the Red Cross, re money distribution (they took in more than $150 MILLION from Sandy, yet people still need help, executive salaries are ridiculous, etc.). I do not doubt the intentions of the real, on-foot volunteers, but as an organization, I would not give them a penny. Look at the people on Staten Island -- even after the stories came out about how hard they were hit, still no RC.
My point was people WAIT to be helped. If a storm is coming, stock up, get food, get water, get protection. Stop being a victim, take responsibility. Yet this is now being ridiculed in the press as un-American ("doomsday preppers are those crazy people"). Really? Looking adversity in the face, preparing for myself and my family by getting food and water is a crazy thing to do? But waiting for FEMA (this org has SEVERE issues), et al, to come in and save us, well, that's what we should do.
It's all part of this "we are helpless" mentality that seems really pervasive in our American culture these days. I don't get it. Sigh.
(P.S. after hearing a lot of stories re the nationwide charity orgs, donating local is what we do. at least we know the money will be used properly. I know a lot of people that have taken this position.)

When I read the demands for apologies (or something will be revealed), I was curious as to the difference between blackmail and extortion, and found this:
"In modern usage blackmail differs from extortion in that the money or other valuable object or act is not extorted by threat of direct bodily harm, but by the threat of revealing something presumed to be injurious to the victim."
Both are federal offenses, punished by imprisonment or a fine or both.
I don't think any of this is helping Kate's "dream" of doing anything at all. It's not bringing her new jobs, or book deals, or whatever. It's just soothing her ego- nothing more.
What is she going to do when bv alienates perspective jobs that do not want that negative element around? Is she going to blame bv too?
As for her new fans- how long can Kate hold their attention, when she hasn't produced anything worthwhile in years? What's the point or advantage of sticking around? What's the payoff? Kate is not a close friend or anything else for that matter. They are only bound to walk away from her.

I just don't think you can make that generalization. Not everyone waits around to be helped and doesn't prepare. And many disasters are unexpected, like house fires or earthquakes. How do you prepare for things like floods and storms other than boarding up and evacuating? During Hurricane Sandy I talked about my one and thank God only time being displaced, during an ice storm when I was in elementary school. Guess what? NO ONE predicted this ice storm. It was supposed to be a normal cold East cost night with a little rain/snow. All of a sudden an ice storm happened and we woke up with no power and the governor was declaring god knows how many counties national disaster areas . No power for five days. There's no way we could have anticipated such a long stretch of no power and pumps weren't working so our basement flooded. I don't remember if the Red Cross was at the fire hall we went to for a hot meal but I know they did help out many others. Yes, yes, you can stock up on canned food and blankets for an earthquake or other disaster but a hot meal and real shelter is nicer.
The Red Cross has to pay some people to work for them because most people cannot volunteer 40 hours a week or have the skills they need. I hear a lot of bellyaching about paying the Red Cross employees but do those people complaining step up to fill those positions they need for free? I think not. Local charities can't mobilize nationally the way they do. If there is a local charity that can be at a house fire within two hours have at it but it's rare. The problem is when you have an organization that big and that quick, there is overhead. It's just reality. All their records are open for anyone to see.
I don't like helpless people either but not everyone who uses disaster relief is helpless Heather.

I think that all along Robert has been the focus of all of this. She knows his book is coming out. All this bullying from the haters has just been a prelude to what she really wants, which is for Robert to get involved in this mess, apologize and pull his book. If Laverne and Shirley couldn't stop him, I guess Bullyville figured they could. Right. He started outing the other haters and demanding apologies, announced the lawsuit to show that he means business, and now Robert is under the gun. Ultimately, it's about him. The other haters are just small peanuts.
I hope bullyvile doesn't go after Liz since she stood up to KK awhile back.
Heather it's absolutely true the handful of executives at the Red Cross make 200-500,0 a year. It is a gigantic organization, very public, and they have extensive and difficult duties and long hours. At other places of such national prominence, that kind of executive salary would be nothing. I'm sure Facebook or Google executives do a lot less for millions more.
Finding a GOOD executive to run such a complicated organization for that kind of salary would be difficult in and of itself. Most of them could probably go join some other non-charity and make five times that. As it is most of them are probably taking a pay cut.
It's a tough call. Yeah it sounds like a ton of money. But do we really want to skimp on executive salaries and risk getting people in there who are under qualified? That's the problem, when you have an organization that complex and want the very best people in there, you have to pay them what they are worth. They are providing a skill set and like any other executive expect to be paid fairly for that skill set.

Check, 30...The private shelter that I donate to will take ANYTHING. If they can't actually use the item, they have a small re-sale store nearby that gets the spill over items.
They charge very little or often give the items to women who are setting up a new household.
Nothing goes to waste. A cookbook would be accepted along with canned goods, clothes and furniture.
I wouldn't want anyone to be discouraged from donating to one of these worthwhile organizations.
I think the hateful, rabid fans have more to do with who Bullyville goes after than Kate does. They are the ones supplying the primary information on people and the ones who are in Mr. Bullyville's ear.

I realize the RedX gets government funding but they are still an independent charity and function more or less like the private sector and could probably do just fine without any ties to the government. The American Red Cross does not receive Government funding except in the case of extreme disasters when its general fund has been depleted by a disaster. All funding is received thru public donations and revenue from their Health and Safety training.

And that's perfectly fine. If it took something like this to get these non-fans to move on with their lives, then good. I never felt Kate Gosselin was worth so much of their emotional energy, but then I think the reason some people feel so strongly about Kate is because they are working out their own childhood/adult experiences with a narcissist or abuser. I believe it's called transference.
If these haters (I hate that term, btw, but it's the best one I can find to describe these people) are gone, then it's one less excuse Kate has to explain away her own narcissistic behavior and then finally perhaps some of her fans will start to see the real Kate Gosselin, professional victim.

Not to veer too far off topic, but I have heard numerous complaints about the Red Cross. One thing I heard is that they sometimes charge for their little relief packets - charge the people who have just been through a disaster. I hope this is not true, but I've seen postings from people following disasters recounting how they experienced that very thing. Speaking of withholding disaster relief funds, I hear that Gov. Chris Christie's wife is hanging on to millions of dollars raised for Sandy relief, which I think is absolutely appalling.
I agree with donating locally when you can, because then you have a better chance of your money actually going straight to those who need it in your local community. I donate to the Salvation Army too. I don't donate to Red Cross or to any of those charity benefits shown on TV because all too often, the money doesn't get to those who need it most. I'd probably donate if Bruce Springsteen were involved - he seems to be a truly stand up guy.
I agree with being prepared, but I wouldn't go so far as some of those Doomsday people. The pendulum swings to both extremes. I like to have plenty of canned goods on hand, several gallons of fresh water, a water purifier, flashlight, batteries, a solar oven, blankets, some first aid supplies. But I'm far from super prepared. What I have would probably take care of my family briefly, but not if it were an extended disaster, or if my house totally collapsed. All my supplies would be buried under the house debris. Or if I was away from my home when disaster struck and unable to reach it - so all my preparation would be for naught.
LOL - I remember all the media hooplah over the year 2000 - supposedly there would be widespread blackouts, all sorts of breakdowns, etc. My son and I spent the New Year's at my parents' home in the country. They have a well-stocked pantry, a generator, etc. I was quite disappointed that we didn't even have so much as a flicker of the lights.

Absolutely. Even though BV didn't include him in his demand, it showed who is the bigger person here. He doesn't care about Kate or the kids. Well, since you ask the question, yes, I do think a cookbook could be welcome for some of them. The cooks. Those who dream returning to a normal life in their own home and restarting family life on new positive grounds. And cooking is part of that dream. Ever heard of the Tarazin Cookbook? It was written for memory by the jewish women imprisoned in the nazi concentration camp of Tarazin. It's one of the most poignant and touching book I've ever read.

I think that if women are interesting in cooking, they don't want to read little anecdotes about the Gosselin kids, or look at photos of them with flour on their noses. Anything to do with Kate is toxic - keep away if at all possible.

One thing I heard is that they sometimes charge for their little relief packets - charge the people who have just been through a disaster. The American Red Cross NEVER charges for their services...and never will. It is freely given - whether that's shelter from a storm, a comfort kit, a clean-up kit, a hot meal, or funds to start over again after a storm.
As far as the money you've donated to the ARC for Hurricane Sandy - every penny of it HAS to be spent in the states affected. Period. The ARC is definitely accountable for the money received; there are STILL volunteers in New York, assisting clients affected....you just don't see these efforts on the news any more.
I don't get the point of the law suit it seems dumb to me.
But if someone can explain what it purpose is for I'd like to hear it.-)

By the way, the owner of Bullyville is James McGibney. Apparently, he bought the site from a guy named Hunter Moore, with the original name being IsAnyoneUp.com. Hunter Moore apparently would post nude pictures of people, with or without their consent. The two men apparently got into a dispute. At some point, Moore accused McGibney of being a pedophile. McGibney did sue Hunter in Nevada District Court and says he won a $250,000 judgment against Moore (uncollectable to this point, as Moore has no assets). I cannot tell if Moore even responded to the lawsuit, or if McGibney won by default.

I have been thinking of him as a crackpot, not too intelligent guy. I was wrong - because he apparently holds several patents, and has founded a company in San Francisco which appears to be successful. He founded the company but it's unclear whether he's involved in the day-to-day running, or just listed as 'founder.'
I never saw anyone allege Kate was a pedophile, but if someone was tweeting something like that, then this guy may be able to convince Kate to bring a lawsuit against them. He's won on that issue before, and I think the guy probably has the money to cover costs of filing such a lawsuit. Also, if anyone ever tweeted or e-mailed a death threat - although I think there would have to be more evidence than one single tweet that sounds vaguely ominous.
My guess is that if a class action suit is actually filed, and people are served - they best be sure to file an answer or risk getting a judgment entered against them by default. He claims that a suit is either being filed or has been filed. I could not find online confirmation either way.

Just for kicks, I searched the internet this afternoon to see if there's precedence on a reality star taking someone to court over internet postings and such...I found a case similar - but not exact - where "Real Housewife", Sheree Whitfield, tried to get a protective order against a blogger, claiming she was being "stalked". Similar, I guess, to what Kate and Bullyville are trying to do...

I also thought it was unusual when she said she paid the towing bill and insurance didn't arrange for a rental? Her insurance doesn't have emergency road services? I have it. It costs me $15 a month. It covers gas, towing, rental, flat tire, lock out, etc. I did not have to search for a rental car place since my insurance does business with one national chain company. So easy for me.

Just for kicks, I searched the internet this afternoon to see if there's precedence on a reality star taking someone to court over internet postings and such...I found a case similar - but not exact - where "Real Housewife", Sheree Whitfield, tried to get a protective order against a blogger, claiming she was being "stalked". Similar, I guess, to what Kate and Bullyville are trying to do...

Chiming in here about "grisly." In our neck of the woods, this means dirty or unkempt, not necessarily causing horror and disgust. It's kind of slang for the PA Dutch word, "greislig." I'm not sure if this is what she meant, but she no doubt would have heard it growing up.
As many of us have said, the haters have succeeded in making Kate into a sympathetic character. Sound like at least the 62 year old "SENIOR CITIZEN" ( what's up with that--we are the Woodstock generation, we got rid of the draft, and...well, we smoked a lot of pot and ate a lot of cookie dough), is starting to get a little perspective that the line between decency and healthy criticism isn't being on Twitter for 24 hours a day hurling vile disgusting epithets at people). I understand everything that you are saying about learning about what conditions are really like on a reservation. For decades I have been into the history of Native Americans. They were a free and proud people, and they didn't move east, the white people moved west. The more the white people wanted the land, the stronger the fight and racism came against the Indians.
They were moved onto reservations and for many of the tribes, the land they were moved onto was barren and desolate where most things didn't grow and wild animals didn't roam. Basically, it was land that the white people didn't want. Some were "given" reservations on their own land, but the size of them decreased over the years as more people moved west, the land became more valuable, etc. the truth is that the American government broke almost every single treaty that they made with the Indians.
Then at the end of the 19th century and the oncoming of the 20th century, they were a broken, downtrodden people. They no longer were feared for uprising against the white people. Then the conditions on the reservations became steadily worse. The promises made to them weren't kept after they lost their lands. This once proud people were forced to become dependent on the government (which is what the government wanted at the time), they lost their way of life and became depressed. Not to mention that children were taken away, without the parents permission, to be put in "boarding" schools and taught the white man's ways.
All of these things played a big role in the despair, depression, and hopelessness that these people felt. And through all of this, the conditions on the reservations just got worse, with lack of housing, little food, broken promises, etc.
I understand your anger over these conditions and understand your viewpoint.
Post #130 says that the judge threw out Sheree's claim of stalking saying she should have handled it through local authorities (police). I think this case does have a lot of similarities to Kate's case.
If Kate feels stalked & threatened she needs to go to the police not bullyville. That is the first thing a court is going to say: handle it through the local authorities. Or let Twitter handle it. A court is not going to be interested in this bullyville bullshit. Besides bullyboy is claiming he has over 60 people that have contacted him that want to be in his class lawsuit. Well, what attorney is going to take 60+ depositions from people in various states/countries. It is not going to happen.
And if bullyboy was in contact with a lawyer about this foolishness, his attorney would tell him to immediately stop contacting Lisa, the owner of the website that he is going after.

I've ridden in a few tow trucks as I'm sure most of us have. I never remember noting the drivers appearance. I do remember they were usually quite nice and would give advice on what might be wrong. I think she is sensitive to things most aren't.
The fact that she didn't include what was wrong with the car is a gaping hole in the story and shows what a poor storyteller she is. Also if this story is even true why wouldn't she tweet about it? Far more interesting than spamming people's feeds with quotes and retweeted compliments.

I had one who scared me to death. I had a flat tire and he couldn't figure out how disengage the lock to get the spare out and it ticked him off. He didn't know how to read the instruction manual, so he had to tow the car. He was mean and disagreeable, but at least I had AAA!
