Why not auction off Mady and Cara's first bras...or those high heels that Mady wore and Kate photographed? How about the boy's old Velcro sneakers, stained uniform shirts, or the Disney ice cream shirt that ruined one of the girls? Are you going to bid on the photos of their first poops? Maybe locks of their first haircuts will be up for bids. You could make those into an ornament for your Christmas tree.

My ex-father in law and siblings called their parents Mammy and Pappy. No they were not from the south or African American. It is just what they were raised to say I guess. I thought it was kind of cute. Especially when FIL was in his 40's.

They will be 19 for a week or so when they graduate. Many kids who have not started school late are 18 when they graduate. If graduation were held the first week in May, they'd be 18 when they graduate. Does that one week of being 19 really matter, and who is going to know or even care?

I was responding to a comment about whether Kate would hold the kids back or not. In that scenario, they would be 20. The tups were held back--they were 5 years and 4 months old when kindergarten started--therefore they are a full year behind other kids who have the same birthday who started on time. The fact that they were only 19 for a month doesn't matter--it doesn't change the fact that they were already held back. I didn't make a judgement about it--I held my own son back--he was born 4 days before the deadline.

My dd calls her cousins' grandparents on her cousins' side grandmaman Michelle et Grandpapa Rene, because she was accepted to their family.
They refer to her as their 'titte fille, 'cause she is the only female.
Grandmaman Michelle has offered to let her stay there through College, Vet school, since she lives where the best school for that is, and I know she's got our back.

Paris Jackson? Michael would be rolling over in his grave. The last thing he would have wanted was this. He fought to keep his kids out of the public eye. Hell, he made them wear masks to keep their identity hidden. He tried to give them a normal life ( as much as he could). This man knew what it was to grow up being the bread-winner of a family. Having to support everyone in this life. He DID NOT want that for his kids.
Michaels kids lost everything when their father died. They had no choice to be taken into a family who is pushing the spotlight on them. Hell....mama Jackson gets over 80 thousand dollars a month to "care" for them. 80 thousand???!!!!

I went from Mommy and Daddy to Mom and Dad at some point, but I think what's odd about the Kennedy kids is referring to their parents as Mummy and Daddy, instead of "my mother/mom, my father/dad", when they are adults talking to other adults.
And by "odd" I mean it's unusual (IME), it's not a judgement, it is to say that I don't find many other adults doing that. But, it's obviously their own family's culture and is endearing, especially Ethel referring to RFK as Daddy always and forever.
I kind of think she's a poor soul and lonely...but hey, many times those are the ones who turn out to be the most annoying and obnoxious.

I would ask why Kate and the kids are so important to her that she spends so much time promoting Kate and defending her. In other words, what is it about Kate that causes her(Milo) to make a complete fool of herself on twitter.

Starz22, so agree. A couple months ago, it seemed certain that Michael's kids were getting a reality tv show worth $10 million. I thought that was so irresponsible of their guardian(s)! It's worse than making the G kids continue to film after the divorce, when their lives were turned upside down and emotions were all over the place.
They lost their dad at formative ages, and none have the maturity to deal with the fame that comes with being MJ's children, let alone RTV stars.
I think Paris was asking for help and trying to control things in her life that are out of control, like the huge lawsuit her family instigated.
I can't imagine the pressures and burdens.
You're right, Michael's wishes are not being honored and I get angry at him for basically killing himself when he had 3 kids to raise up.
If those kids have any chance, they need to get out of the spotlight and not be dragged into lawsuit after lawsuit, trial after trial.

Right exactly. The nature vs nurture thing. And, even if a child is strongly influenced by his environment, there are usually many people influencing that child, from all the teachers at school, to friends, to siblings, to both parents, to other relatives, to T.V. There's no way of really knowing who played what role.
I find it obnoxious for any one person to be taking such major credit for a child. And it wasn't Kate--it was Milo. Milo is officially more annoying than Kate, I'll say it.

I agree with Tucker's Mom. When talking with my brothers and sisters we refer to our parents as mom and dad. However, if I'm talking to anyone outside the family I've always said "my mother, my father or my parents". I too find it odd when friends or co-workers are talking to me and say something like "Mom has a doctor appointment or mom and dad (or daddy which I’ve found with a lot of people from the South) are going on vacation." I'm not knocking them for calling their parents whatever they want to call them I just find it odd that they don't use the possessive (pronoun or adjective?) "my" when talking to other people
What I found hilarious about that doc. Ethel, was all the canonizing they did about him.
He apparantly married Ethel only because he wanted to marry her older sister and couldn't because she married when he was in the army. Ethel was his 2nd choice.
And notice not a word about Jackie O. She and RFK famously had an affair. In fact, he had affairs all the time!
So for them all to be saying 'Daddy' with stars in their eyes was kinda peculiar. He wasn't much of a dad. He was hardly ever around.
The way the fans feel that they are a part of the Gosselin family is wrong on so many levels. This is what happens when you invite strangers (and considering the volume of the viewing audience, there will be a percentage of nut jobs) into your home on these reality shows. Also, because Kate has no ties to family and superficial friendships, she constantly begs for attention from these strangers. It's all a very perverted cycle.
Granted, this whole saga is incredibly interesting to watch and talk about, but I would never interject myself personally into the Gosselin's life.
Most of them were very young when he died. Isn't Rory the youngest? She never even met him. I think kids that young can't process all the slimy stuff like that. Dad's their hero and nothing less. Even now that they are grown the ONLY memory they have is of the hero.
It's also proof that most kids just love their parents, warts and all, at least when they are young. If they die before they can see them for a real person then those feelings may never change. And that's why parental alienation is so bad because it disrupts those natural feelings. If a kid wants to evaluate their parent as a person later in life, they are welcome to do so and decide for themselves how much or little contact they want. But to try to influence that process IMO is a negative thing. I've known three families now who have had issues with affairs and none of the kids have a strained relationship with the parent having an affair....it's strange, I just think a lot of kids don't process that the way adults do. He's their dad and they love him. They understand the affair happened but I don't think they see it as an affront to them. Now other kids might process it differently and be very traumatized, I'm just saying that three out of three haven't.
What I have read about the two of them were they were very free-thinking parenting style. The kids were allowed to do many things Caroline and JFK Jr. weren't. One of them had pet snakes and a mini zoo in the basement. They had friends over all the time. They sound like that house every neighborhood had where everyone hung out. I want to be that house! But that's not for everyone--I just think it's cool to be the place to hang. Their parenting style reminds me of what we've seen from Brad and Angelina. If a girl wants to dress like a boy, let her. If she wants to wear a superman costume all day every day for three months, what's it hurting?

So many of them felt they were SOO close to their celebrity. And it seems to me that the moment they realize the celeb isn't giving them everything they demand of them (like when Jodie Foster realized he was a loon and stopped returning phone calls and letters, for instance), that's when violence can happen.
If Kate and these kids can get through their childhood without any incidents happening, I think they are very lucky. I don't think it's an understatement to say that her interactions with her fans have potentially put the family in grave danger.
Em's a very pretty girl from apparently a nice family who seems to have everything going for her. It's a shame she is devoting her energy to something that will never get back what she puts in. She is a girl who has a lot of love in her heart and she could use it for good. She would be great maybe at starting a charity or working in some kind of field with people in need. Hopefully she will outgrow this quick. She has a bright future that could get side tracked by this little diversion. Can you imagine if Kate actually IS on the prowl for a nanny or something like that, and Em actually leaves other opportunities for them? That would be so sad. It's happened before to others like her. But I think it was sillimom who said look, she's 18, she will have to figure this out herself. As much as it's bothersome, she is right. She will have to figure this out for herself.

Milo is one of those people who, when you tell them to stop, they think you're just kidding. They have no idea of boundaries. If you tell them you really don't want to do something, they pester and pester and pester until you're angry then they say, "gee you don't have to get mad about it."
I am sure Emily is a nice girl, but you don't know what her motivations are, Admin. She is obviously star struck and since she watched the show, she may figure on getting connections through Kate. I would like to think she is just naive but we don't know her.

How could you throw that away? The only way she would give the kids things over to Jon is by a judge's court order. You can't defy those, witch!
Then forcing the kids to throw away their grandfather's Christmas ornaments and making Jon get rid of his golf clubs.
I feel so bad for those kids. I wish I had the money to give to Jon so he could use it for the kids for sports, classes, gymnastics. Anything he wanted for the kids and Liz's kids also.

Yes, I wondered about that, but he also says that when he met her, everything was cordial between them (contrary to what some tweeters claimed when they said something happened that day to cause Kate to ignore him)...and also when they met it was closure for him and that Steve was very nice. I just wonder why, if he knew the relationship wasn't going anywhere, he went to meet her at that public event. After the meeting, he was totally cut off/ignored. Interesting, too, is that he said that the reason the whole thing fell through is because Steve discovered (through vetting, I guess) that he wasn't "legally divorced" from his wife.

I don't know, admin. I couldn't really tell when the vetting took place...it sounded like it was in the middle of the relationship. He just said that he sent Steve the information (?) and that he was cleared. Apparently they were e-mailing and then out of the blue Kate said that they needed to stop e-mailing. He was surprised because he had no idea what he did or why the ending was so abrupt. Apparently they had been getting along quite well.
SUMMER IS HERE!!! WOO!!! After 27 years I thought I'd seen it all, but this year a mother did not want ANY of her child's end of year items....writing portfolio, art portfolio, science journal, memory book filled with photos (that I took and had printed) that the child had captioned, etc. But then Dad said he was coming to pick it all up. Mom (they are divorced) got there first and took it all, saying she was going to share half with Dad. The next day the child told me her mother had put it all in a metal washtub out back and BURNED all of it. I had to send the child to the nurse she was so upset, and Dad came and got her. So totally Kate.

You misunderstood me. I don't mean that you can't or shouldn't vet people like him. I mean that no amount of "vetting" can predict who is going to turn on you like Jodi's fan did. Hence why it's probably not a good idea to build such a close relationship with someone like him from the get go. I.e. how can you vet that out for sure. You can't. These people are unpredictable.

Question - how much is Kate actually tweeting nowadays? I don't follow her twitter but it seems most of the discussion here is about Milo's tweets, not Kate's. Several people here have commented that her twitter is quiet or "dead". So I was just curious.

And to recap, this is her summer plans:
1) excited kids are out of school
2) sorting the school papers that just came home
3) having Emily come out to visit aka babysit for free and worship Kate

I hope she outgrows it. She seems like a lovely young lady from a nice family. College is in her future and maybe this is just one of those girl crush things. For the life of me, though, I don't understand why someone who appears to be intelligent with her whole future ahead of her would pick someone like Kate to idolize.
I think for some of these girls the romantic fantasy of have "six babies" at once captivates them. The romantic fantasy of one woman handling all these kids is captivating. Get a few years older and they will understand why Kate and Jon pretty much freaked out when they saw six embryos.
Yeah, you adjust to it and you deal with what God or if you like life deals you, but I don't think anyone knowingly chooses high order multiples. For the health risks alone, not to mention a host of other challenges. But young people might only see the "fun" in such things. Multiples sound "fun." More interesting than their mediocre lives. Maybe they even have mommy issues.
Just my theory why teen girls seem to idolize this woman. Some of them.

I'm guessing, just based on her history, this may not necessarily last long. She may limit it for awhile then when she's really starving for her narcissistic supply, be right back to where she was before. I hope for the kids' safety though this is the end.

You're welcome. It seems to me Sandi doesn't put up with a lot of foolishness. She really doesn't like the Irish Creeper. She was quite a defender of Kate for a while but isn't around much anymore, at least not tweeting.

Yes, just like what happened to Kate after watching the McCaughey tups on TV. She became fixated on that fantasy because it was glorified on TV. If we didn't have television, we wouldn't have that fascination. People would just live their lives with their 6 babies and no one would really give a sh*t or know any better. But TV has changed that. We sit in front of the TV and watch this completed edited story that looks so good and draws us in, just like with Jon and Kate Plus 8. Behind the scenes is another story. It's all a fantasy. We get caught up in the fantasy because TV has that ability to make everything look intriguing....make-up, tons of helpers, craft services and major EDITING!!

Okay, I just read something that caught my eye.
I was looking through Kate's blogs on her website and came across one dated March 17, 2013. Kate describes spring break this year. One event was the purchase of Felicia, the new beta fish. Kate stated that she allowed herself to get talked into a new fish, because she "loved" Fabio. ?? The wording is critical. LOVED, past tense. This implies that Fabio had already died and was replaced with this one. But Kate's blogs on the stir in April, afterwards, discuss what she should do about the death of a pet, and replace without the kids knowing. She claimed, "you know we all do it". Well, in fact we don't and even her fans pointed that out. So now Fabio had to die while everyone watched, so she could really pull out the 21 gun send off for Fabio.
I believe that Felicia was in fact a replacement for Fabio. It is too impossible that Mady talked her in to getting another beta, days before Fabio died. More like the other way around.
By reading her website blog in march and comparing to the stir blogs in April, I am convinced she can't keep her lies straight in her own head and was caught outing herself yet again. Key word: loved! Oops, Kate!

I do not consider Kate a runner. We all wondered about that 1st marathon in Las Vegas with her 2 new BFF's. I came across something in a blog from a runner that was in the same corral as Kate. She writes :
"I never believed that in a sea of tens of thousands of runners, I would actually see Kate Gosselin. But oh, I saw her, all right — she was in my corral. Super-tan, super-blond and super-tiny Kate Gosselin was just to my right, hanging out behind the 4:15 pacer."
Once the corral was released she writes:
"As if that weren’t enough, Kate Gosselin had a guy hanging off the back of a motorcycle taking pictures of her and yelling, “Look up! Act natural! LOOK UP!” More than a few snickers and echoes of, “Are you kidding me?” rippled through the runners. I had to get out of there.
I left the 4:15 pacer and Kate in my dust at the first opportunity, and I never saw Kate again (she finished in 4:59:21).The pacer and I would reunite many, many miles later."
This makes me more convinced that it was all a photo op. She doesn't answer her sheeple because as usual everything Kate does fails because Kate doesn't care. I will never believe she ran that marathon. The only one I do believe is the one in Chicago. She was so sweaty and actually looked like she ran it.
The girl I quoted above goes on to say that at the end of the Vegas marathon she collapsed on the ground as soon as the race was over. There was no running to Rod Dixon or applying lip gloss. Kate is so full of it.
This was this girls first marathon and she continues to blog about all the other marathons she has finished since since then.

Kate was paid for her appearances at rock n roll. That is a huge reason why doubt lingers about the legitimacy of that marathon. She did her racing backwards in an attempt to rebrand. She should have worked up to a marathon. You don't start there and go to shorter races. When she claimed to be doing a marathon last October, along with a half and 10k all in the same month, I cried bull. Then mysteriously she only ran the 10k. I believe she still runs, but 5 miles every couple days. She is not trying to improve the quality of her racing. She has also never run in a race that she did not get paid to be there. Nor will she ever. Yeah, she's passionate about running.
When Kate started the whole running business, it was to lose weight which falls in line with her eating disorder. How many times have we read about women who binge eat, throw up, and then manically run off the calories?
But she needed something to get in the news, and proclaiming to be a marathon runner was the perfect solution. I totally concur the Las Vegas run was nothing more than a photo op and shame on those two ladies for being a part of the scam. Since Steve is not a runner, I guess these gals had to be hired to physically and mentally coax Kate to finish. Must have been a funny sight to see Steve scooting around in a golf cart following Kate.
I have no idea if she cheated. She's a jogger, nothing more, so I'd guess there's a good chance some funny business went on at that Las Vegas marathon.

KK only did the marathons for a few reason IMO.
1.Time away from the kids.
2. Time away with Steve.
3. She was hopeful to get any media attention.
4. She wanted to get $$$ for running.
She got fired from CC and she can't use R&R anymore so she's done.

I just read her latest Stir bog. She's hit rock bottom. I almost feel sorry for her. Almost.
Her latest blog is up. Goodness. What a waste. More than usual.
I think she's getting editing help now, but it's still pretty incoherent.
How is ALMOST running out of gas interesting and worthy of 1,000 words? That's like doing an entire blog post about how you ALMOST went to Disneyland.
It's convoluted again. She never really explains why exactly her gas app (Gas Buddy?) failed her. Even if there were no gas stations in that town, all you do is expand the map with two fingers in order to see the next surrounding towns. You can see an entire 100 mile radius of stations with that app. They all pop up on the map like a little army.
Not to mention, gas tanks these days will go for 50 miles and often more on empty. Suspenseful, NOT.
On a positive note, I'm surprised she admits the other kids were with their dad without saying anything nasty or snide about it.
The reality is that Kate thrives on drama and her lack of planning contributes to all these situations which reach "crisis" point for her.

That's exactly right and I know someone exactly like this in this respect only. There is always a big dog and pony show about being organized, but at the end of the day they are not organized at all and LOVE when things go all to sh&t. Because then they can work themselves all into a tizzy and the drama unfolds. It's uncanny. I think Amy is like this too. All the shelves neatly stacked, but really she LOVES when everyone is all worked up so she can have her show.
Seriously, Gas Buddy is THE app. That's what I thought while reading her bog. I think she's cloistered herself so much she's unaware of the tools that exist to make her life easier .....

I once ran out of gas pulling out of my apartments trying to get to the gas station across the street. The light changed and my car died. Now that's embarrassing. So none of these tweens or Kate could find a station with various smartphones, ipads, and gps? I call BS. And how far away was this house that she was so unfamiliar with the area? Bitch, please.
Oh, and she had her "large SUV". Does she have a small one as well? Is that four cars?
She has an iPhone with a Gas App, and she owns a GPS ("Mrs. Map"). She can afford impromptu snacks for her family & friends; and since she doesn't work a full-time job, she has the luxury of scheduling her own activities around their occasional play dates.
In addition to two other cars, she owns an oversized SUV, nearly new. She can afford to fill the gigantic gas tank to the "tippy top."

I can buy this convoluted story if maybe there was no cell phone reception or she forgot her cell phone. But that's not what she said. She just said she looked at her gas map and couldn't see a station. Ok dummy, then expand the map and look farther up the road and you'll see one.
Unfortunately these days with iphones or smartphones, these harrowing stories of getting lost or not knowing where a gas station is are a thing of the past. You can try to artificially recreate a nail biter for your blog, but with your working smart phone and gas map right there in your manicured hand, the suspense is gone and the story is boring.
She should read Pioneer Woman or one of the many other excellent mommy blogs to understand what makes good and interesting blog fodder.
Gas Buddy is great, you can even choose which one has the cheapest gas. All the prices pop up on the map.
I'm not sure this blog will resonate with those who are maybe searching the couch cushions to PAY for a tank of gas in the first place. Or for those who really do not have time to fill up the tank between work and kids when this tool has ALL DAY every day to take care of all these little errands before getting herself in such a fix (that wasn't).

That was a worthless bog. She didn't run out of gas, so what was the point of the whole article? And why not ask when she stopped for ice cream where a gas station was if Mrs Map did not know how to help her. (I don't believe she allowed the kids to have popcorn AND ice cream after a party, let alone eat in the car.) And doesn't she know how long the vehicle will run once either a quarter full or flashing empty? She just looked stupid and inefficient and pathetic.Why would the 'littles' be on the bus and the twins at a party at the same time- wouldn't they all be on the same bus?? She wrote about gas odor recently and tow trucks- such exciting copy!
I love Gas Buddy. I did encounter her frustration using GPS though when I needed gas on the way home from Penn State. It sent me to a station way off the highway to a mom and pop station that had closed for the night. Sigh. Didn't even know those still existed.
There is also an awesome free app Around Me, which will show you any kind of business in your area along with the distance to get there.

I was just thinking the same thing. What about all the donations collected from those unsuspecting church-goers...when she had contracted for the million dollar house and she was still crying needy at the speaking engagements? Not embarrassed about that?
Oh brother. That's Kate most embarrassing moment? How about when I stepped out of an airplane's restroom with my dress bunched up in my pantyhose! The flight attendants busted out laughing and warned me before I sauntered down the aisle with my ass exposed.
I'll tell what Kate did that was embarrassing...SCREAMING at Jon in Toys R Us. That was cringe-worthy. Everyone was looking at her and I felt so bad for Jon. Yikes!
One excuse Kate had for not getting gas before she picked up the girls is that she didn't want to be late in doing so. This comment on her bog makes a very good point.

Not many people find enough in their cushions to pay for tank of gas; maybe ten dollars in gas! With the price of gas, a fill-up on her Sequoia would be a few cents less than $98.00 for premium gas; about $92.00 for mid-grade.
This embarrasses her because it shows a crack in the perfect organized image she wants. Organized moms in her eyes don't run on empty tanks. Their tanks never get past 1/4 empty. It's all about appearances.

The photo of her with her dress eating her wet rear end; the photo of her standing with Mary Hart with her um, load hanging out in the front; standing on the lift at DWTS looking like the donkey from Shrek not knowing what the heck is going on.

BTW, I don't know about everyone else, but when my gas tank light comes on, I still have 50 miles. I think her story is total BS. She starts out with a little over a quarter tank plus she has another 50 miles to spare. Geez. Another moment was when they were on the plane to Utah and Kate had a total breakdown because the flight was delayed.

Here's when a gas situation causes you to go into panic mode:
You're driving on the Long Island Expressway, which in itself is enough to cause your nerves to go into overdrive, in 105 degree heat and you know you're low on gas and figure you'll get off at the next exit and fill up. But there's an accident and mile-long backup and you can't get into the exit lane. In fact, the whole area is a parking lot. You sit and watch your gas indicator, hoping it's not going to drop below empty. Thoughts of running out of gas in the passing lane in record heat is making you break out in a rash. You pray that you can get somewhere, anywhere off the highway so you don't have a heat stroke.
Kate most likely has AAA. So she runs out of gas. You call AAA and they bring you some. No biggie.

I don't think this even happened. It is SO far fetched as to be unbelievable. She just made it up. It is FICTION. Like the marathon she "ran." She thinks it is cute to be a scattered and breathless and "almost" in need of rescue. And embarrassing moments...remember the honeymoon videos? "Let's go spend MONEY! I LOVE spending MONEY!" She giggled and smirked and pranced in her shorts and bobby socks. I would look back on video like that and be horrified at myself.

I think that when Kate said she was taking the tups to the "bus stop", that must now be the exchange point for the kids since Jon is not allowed on the property. At least she admitted Jon gets the tups. I have to wonder how often he sees Cara and Mady because from her tweets it appears the twins are with her when Jon has the tups? Has she perhaps alienated the tween girls from their dad or they don't like seeing him with another woman?

If I was the parent of one of the girls in that car, they would never be riding in her car ever again. That was the most ridiculous story ever. She should be embarrassed. This highlights her irresponsibility as a driver and parent to everyone. I was amazed that she could even write this out. What is wrong with her? She has no business behind the wheel. She should know her car. I know mine. No technology. I know how big my gas tank is, how many mpg of gas my car gets and when the light goes on, I have 1 gallon left. She can't take 5 minutes to get gas when you know you are driving to pick up children, some of whom are not your own.

So the attendant came to the window and said, "what'll ya have?" My cousin replied loudly from the back seat, " a Bombay martini straight up with 3 olives!" My aunt died from embarrassment. We all laugh till we cry when that story gets told. It's truly children repeating their parents. Whenever my uncle went out to eat, that was the drink he ordered. My cousin heard it enough to repeat.
That's embarrassment. Can't say I get embarrassed when my gas light comes on. Just get the gas.

With eight kids and responsible for other various kids it's simply reckless not to have aaa or another service. She can afford it. What if they did run out of gas? Callig a friend could take twice as long, meanwhile you've got kids in a very dangerous situation on the side of the road. Whoever said they wouldn't let their kids get in that car is right. She is a control freak when it involves other people, she is also just plain lazy. If the point of her blog was that she embarrassed herself in front if the twins and their friends, well, she may have indeed embarrassed Cara and Mady, not herself. If indeed she was low on gas and anxious about finding a station, why announce it to the kids? But that is moot because I don't think it happened. I don't know where the bus stop is(maybe a local can enlighten us) but I am sure she was familiar with that area and could get gas before picking up the others. It sounds like Jon picked them up directly from the bus stop after school. Sounds distruptive to me, interfering on his pickup to say goodbye. Why not say goodbye in the morning and leave them be on the pickup? Would she like Jon doing that when she picks them up? I'm guessing that's a big no. It's those little things a parental alienator does that add up.

I just read that Bristol Palin along with Willow are going on Celebrity Wife Swap, swapping lives with Joan Rivers and Melissa Rivers. Can you say, WTF?? Are any of these women wives? Bristol is what, 22-23 and Joan is 79. How does this make any sense? What about the welfare of Bristol's son? How does a 4 year old deal with strangers and no parents for a week? This sounds like the worst idea in the world. It is supposed to air June 23. This is despicable. It's the children that suffer.

Another thought on the "bog". She had the other kids call their parents AFTER the supposed 45 (or whatever) minute search for a gas station. If I were one of their parents and my kids were 45 minutes late showing up, I would be calling them. I would also be livid that she could not be bothered to have them call ME to tell me they were going to be late.
Kelly, same thought. Where the hell is my kid??? Those long country roads and highways, it's perfectly reasonable for any parent to start to get very worried when you're that late. There was no reason she couldn't have called or told the girls to call their parents the moment she knew things were really delayed (due to her own stupidity).
Everyone seems to be confused about the kids being out of school and not together. I agree. I was very confused. But here is what I deducted in my own mind. Maybe this is how it happened.
Middle school probably is having final exams at this point and I know when we had finals, it was a 1/2 day. It is possible the twins had a 1/2 day, left from school with friends to go to the pool party. Another parent probably picked them up at school and took them to the party, hence Kate picking up 2 other children to bring home. The party probably ended when school normally ends. Hence, the tups getting home as she went to pick up the twins. That's the only possibility I could come up with.
I totally agree admin that she was interfering with jon's pick up. Not surprising. Admin it was also I who said I would never let Kate drive my child anywhere. This entire escapade screams irresponsibility and self indulgence. There was not any time earlier in the day to get gas? She new about this trip she was going to make. Also, lastly, if she absolutely had no way of getting gas prior to pick up at te party, take the BBB instead. Apparently, her 9 hours without the kids while they were in school was just not enough time to get gas. Each one of those 12 year olds are smarter than she is.
Here's a random thought. Did anyone notice the picture with the blog? A gas gauge on empty with the gas light on. Now I suppose one could google for such a picture to include. I assume the picture is to prove that in fact there was an almost empty tank. Here's my question though. If in fact this is a picture of Kate's dash, why on earth would you think to take a picture of your gas gauge in the midst of what she described just happened? You wouldn't! No one would, it's not logical, it doesn't make sense. I've learned that if it isn't logical it probably isn't true or did not happen that way. How did Kate get that picture? Did she plan this?

When I was in my early 20's I was going to my mom's for Christmas Eve. I ran out of gas at the light pulling out of my apartment to try and get to the gas station across the street. Oops. That's the kind of mistake a young adult makes.

Hilarious! An embarrassing Mom moment happened this afternoon. My youngest and I went to Walmart to pick up some treats for summer day camp. While I was paying at the register, I noticed commotion in the parking lot, with security rushing to the front door. A scruffy guy was shoving another guy around. He also punched a woman. He was yelling, "Don't call the cops. There's a warrant out for my arrest." One of the security fellows yelled, "Hit the floor. He's got a gun." I grabbed my child, pushed her to the floor and got on top of her." When all was clear, she yelled, "Gee, Mom, I'm glad you didn't pee in your pants when you were on top of me." Lots of giggles from everyone. It broke the tension.
That's my story, it's true, and Kate, you can't use it.

kate's driving record speaks for itself. High rates of speeding, wreckless driving. Just reading this about her hoarding in on Jon's time and the fake kisses and then running out of gas and can't find a gas station and then making the girls get home 45 minutes late.
I wonder how fast she was driving with the girls in that SUV?
