Rest in peace, Lorna Tuck Colbert

When your son gives a eulogy like this, you know you've done a good job.

Stephen Colbert's mother had eleven children, mostly boys. When Stephen was 10, his father and two of his brothers were killed in a plane crash. This single mom didn't let tragedy bring her and the rest of the family down. Colbert describes a demonstrative mother who, despite a gaggle of kids, was not afraid to let her hair down around her children. "Hugs never needed a reason in our house," Colbert says. Singing, dancing and even pretending to faint on the kitchen floor were encouraged.

"She was fun," Colbert says. "We were the light of her life, and she let us know it 'til the end."

God bless her lovely soul.

Kate take note- she raised her all her children without shoving them in front of cameras,
without exploiting them, and without having a t.v. show.

It CAN be done.

And contrary to what Kate and Deanna implied on CWS, an authoritarian, military style parenting for large numbers of kids is not only not necessary, but could even be detrimental. Lorna did just fine raising these kids with lots of hugs, play and FUN. They are children, not soldiers.

Mrs. Colbert truly defines the term "single mother". Here is a tribute to her from a Colbert fan site:

http://www.colbertnewshub.com/2013/06/18/remembering-lorna-elizabeth-tuck-colbert-1920-2013/

Here is a quote that his sister said about their mother:

Said Elizabeth Colbert Busch, “People always say to me, ‘You must be so proud of your brother.’ And I tell them I am proud. But the thing I’m most proud of is being Lorna Colbert’s daughter.”

Will the Gosselin kids ever say that about their mother?

I don't get this dog thing....Kate & Jamie are such good friends, and she's never met the dog, which Jamie has apparently had for some time?

You're that good of friends, and yet you've never been to her house? WTF?

Jumping In said... 7

When I watched Stephen Colbert's tribute to his mother the other night my heart ached for him and his family. The clariy of his priorities shone through his grief, the strength of his family meaning more to him than the fame he has achieved. A true expression of love.

@Kateplusmy8 Will your cookbook be translated to dutch? I live in the Netherlands and like your show very much. :)

Of course! Kate is a world-famous celebrity, and I'm sure that the book will come out in 88 languages, including Swahili, and she'll do it all herself!

Was it confirmed that the friend Kate visited was Jamie? Did I miss that?

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 9

On another note, she took a trip halfway across the country, apparently to Ohio and then to Michigan, and this is all she can come up with?

That entire trip and there was nothing else interesting to write about?

Either nothing interesting is happening to her or she is just God awful at recognizing what good blog fodder is to write about.

JoyinVirginia said... 10

I cried when I viewed Stephen s tribute to his mother. Even near the end of her life, she encouraged her son and told him how much she was looking forward to his show. ”I wouldn't miss it” is what he said she told him. How proud she was of all her children. And she had ELEVEN, count 'em, ELEVEN children!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems like it was set up yesterday, because one of the hosts said that she spoke to Jon last night. Some of Jon's answers were a little hard to hear.

Nothing earth shattering that we didn't already know. He's busy with kids, work, family and friends, lives in the woods, etc. He also said that things "are different from 2009 when he was partying, getting sued, getting divorced. Things have calmed down and he's taken to the normal life.

He did say he would tell Kanye West not to put the baby on TV.

Here's the video. Jon's call starts about 2:13. You might have to refresh the page in order to get the video to start.

Mrs. Colbert did a tremendous job raising her family after the tragic death of her husband and two sons in the Eastern Airlines crash of 1974. What a wonderful person she must have been. I grew up with many large Catholic families and they were close, loving, and definitely not rich in money, but rich in love. I guess that is why I am so appalled by Kate Gosselin.

Midnight, I bet Kate did not visit Jamie recently and even if she did, no way would she cuddle up to a dog. I totally believe she photoshopped herself in that photo because the whole blog is a bunch of BS. I think the whole purpose is to portray herself as an animal lover (although she expressly said on TV she does not like dogs because maybe Robert has some more dirt on her treatment of the Shoka and Nala. I don't know, but she is in damage control, that I can tell.

From Ted Aranda's website (the dog trainer). A testimonial from Jamie (oh, she's in the picture she submitted with the dog):

Ted is a great trainer! I was a bit nervous at first. But after spending a few minutes with Ted, I felt relaxed and confident that I would learn all I needed to know about training our Great Dane. I was blown away by Ted's knowledge. On Our first appointment with Ted, I was given the first rule of thumb. When it comes to training Kisa, we were not to try to communicate with her like a child or human. I learned the psychology of a dog and how to communicate with Kisa in a way she instinctively understands! wow! Glad I was taught this important piece of information, because that is exactly what I would have done. However,Ted also said that their is still room to spoil our dogs a little. After all that is why we got them!

Our Great Dane is a wonderful addition to our family...My husband and I and 3 small kids are very happy with the training that Ted has provided us with! She is a huge dog and we really needed to know how to handle her before she became an adult! We have taught her many tricks and many obedience skills, thanks to Ted!

Thanks Ted!!!
Dr. Kirk and Jamie Stubbs, Reagan Brooke and Clay..
and of course Kisa the Great Dane!

This happened to me after I downloaded the latest Norton Update about a month ago. There is a major glitch with the update. It is probably nothing to do with the sites you are visiting/Bullyville.

Norton walked me through a fix when I phoned. It seems to be working, so far, but I think I'm done with Norton.

Hope that helps.

This is going to sound wierd, but could the picture of Kate and the dog on her blog actually be Jamie hugging the dog and just Kate's head photoshopped? Jamie has the same hair style, french manicure, etc. as Kate. I cannot picture Kate touching any dog, let alone having her hair touch the fur. And the hair in the coffee? Yeah right, she kept drinking it.

It is so thoughtful of you to post this, admin. Thank you. They have experienced a mother's love in the most blessed way possible. The memories they will have will be of her hugs, and just being kids. It's not about trips, being kid celebrities or expecting material possessions. That family has everything that money can't buy. That could have been a tribute spoken about my own mother. In fact, she even looked like my mother!

I did have a problem with the link provided (it wouldn't play), but there are several others online that I was able to view. It was so touching, unrehearsed and straight from the heart.

Kate decided to use Kisa as fodder for her bog, and spun it for the dramatic effect.
----------

Boy we have some great detectives here!!

She is so good at lying and exaggerating that I believe most of her bog was made up. I think Jamie told her to go ahead and make up whatever she wants. I could picture them both working on it and laughing about how Kate would be pulling the wool over everyone's eyes. CC knew she wrote bullcrap and "inauthentic" was the nicest or safest way of saying she is a liar.

If she went to Jamie's that means she must have just stopped in Ohio to see her sister. Jamie is in Michigan. That is quite a drive if she didn't fly. I am surprised she didn't brag about traveling all that way with no one to help her. (or did someone?)

As for the growling, Kisa may "growl" yet not be a mean growl. I had a Rottie once who when she wanted attention would look at us and do a low deep growl noise that sounded scary but it wasn't a bad growl. (we got her as an adult and once we knew what it meant it wasn't scary)

I have always wanted a Great Dane since the time I watched the Disney movie "The Ugliest Dachshund" (way back in the 60's I think)

That eulogy from Steve is beautiful. It is a shame she never got to hear it.

Nothing would stop me from getting my dogs back in and safe.
Also, teasing the dog is so not funny. Kate gets her kicks out of others' discomfort. It's not the cruelest thing, but if a guest in my house was making my dogs anxious, I'd tell them to knock it off.
Good to hear from Jon. Sounds like he's really roughing it in the woods!

---------------------

I don't understand what you are saying that it was a set-up. Aren't all of her blogs "set-ups?" She decided she would write a blog about the dog and someone took a photo of her with the dog. Who knows if the rest of the story was true, or just fabricated. For all we know, the dog didn't like her. Then again, maybe it did become attached to her. The problem with Kate is that it's a case of the Boy Who Cried Wolf. One of these days she's going to write (or say) something totally legit, and nobody is going to believe her.

Twitter Jail may also be true. Maybe she had trouble tweeting, but since she was away, why would she bother trying to fix it? She's away having fun...those lowly sheeple weren't worth the aggravation of trying to tweet to them. Would Kate drive to Ohio and Michigan with the twins and without Steve? Who knows, and does it really matter? She ignored her bestest tweeties for a week and now she's back. That's all they care about. Oh, and obviously Irish fan cares -- he's off this weekend to buy a men's cologne that he believes will impress Kate. Good luck with that.

I watched Stephen Colbert's beautiful, moving tribute to his mother and cried my eyes out. It truly is a testament to her upbringing that all of her surviving children have turned out to be wonderful adults, most quite successful in their chosen fields. Stephen Colbert is so generous with both his time and his money to a whole host of worthy causes. I'm so sorry for his loss. I remember when his mother had a close brush with death a year or so ago, but pulled through. He abruptly left off filming his show to be with her and his family. On his return, he didn't say anything about it, except I believe one line: "Apparently having 11 children makes you tough as nails."

Through Mrs. Colbert's deep love for her family, she was rewarded with a circle of love in return for all of her days. That's the best any of us can hope for.

Shoka who is terrified of going for a ride? Oh yeah, she's a dog whisperer all right. All her blogs reck of rewriting history and covering her butt because of bad publicity. The great dane has been trained and is probably very sweet (most are), so she laid down next to her for a nano second, ol' bbf Jaime took the picture and there it is...a made up story about the dog and Kate bonding. I do believe Jamie must have been concerned about Kate getting along with the dog, not the dog getting along with Kate which is what Kate wrote.

They did ask if they'd see him on reality television again, like DWTS. Jon said he was definitely up for it and thinks he could go farther then Kate.

Hm i just listened to both of Paula Deen's apologies. A couple sentences were awkward and unpolished, suggesting it was unscripted. I can't decide whether she looks caught or just sad.

Dmasy very innnteresting about Jamie's tendency to forget a space between sentences. This is a hallmark of one of our resident trolls who just posted a couple days ago, although we didn't publish it. Could she be Jamie?

This particular troll usually isn't angry, and is usually reasonably respectful of the blog, and will often say "insider-ish" things no one could possibly know for sure. Things like all these kids are well fed every day by Kate, etc. May or may not be Jamie, however if it is Jamie, I feel very sorry for her. She is the very definition of a doormat and deserves better friends than this. No woman, or anyone, should keep a friend who treats them like Kate did in the R.V. episode. Have some respect for yourself and for the word friendship.

Judge Judy was already asked to officiate. Maybe she and Nancy Grace can arm wrestle for the privilege. Dr Drew and Dr Phil will be coming by to provide some premarital counseling. They will referee any awkwardness. That guy who hosts the bachelorette will circulate to make sure no fights break out amongst all those who dated Stephanie. Saint Tony Dovolani of the Ballroom will come by to teach us all a line dance. That adorable Jeff Probst will stop by to host a session where we critique everyone else and find out who was the best reception guest. Then Julie Chen will be over at the end to invite a few of us to the Big Brother house! Bring your packed bags! Andy Cohen is coming over - he's here already! - with cute bartenders and he will snark about celebrities with us!

Did Jon mention filming of his own kids when he called in? I thought he was giving a warning to Kanye and Kim not to film their kid. The show was at its absolute peak when Jon left. They were on every tabloid cover. The divorce episode got millions of viewers, so I don't understand that comment the show was about to be cancelled. Not really, it went on for a couple more years after that just named Kate Plus 8. It was the same show, different title. I would however be curious if Jon could explain what he meant when he has talked about not ruling out the kids being on T.V. He said at one point, it's different now, but I don't know if that means he would have more control of filming or he and Kate have a different understanding of what limits or who knows what. In any case it's a moot point since I doubt these kids are ever going to be filmed again or if they are it's going to be rare....which may be exactly why he isn't stomping around all day long shouting no more filming. Why cause conflict?

Why did Paula Deen's husband move her around so much?? What the hay? 23 times just moving around GEORGIA? Apparently she hasn't been living in the same place for more than 4-5 years her entire life. She has money now. Don't you just want to live in one place and stop moving at some point?

Where is her brother in all this?? Seems like he helped to get her into this mess.

Kate wants them to stay on TV so she can be rich.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 84

That wasn't Carol saying that she posted a Radar comment. And I think Jon 100% owns that he did trash Kate briefly when they got divorced as did she him. It's unforgivable however if it happens four years later.

Tucker's Mom said... 91

Jon didn't leave the show because of bad ratings, that's just ignorant of the facts. The show died because he left and the dynamic changed. The fact is that Kate started acting entitled and starved for attention. Her outfits got skanky, she acted like she was manic and so pithy and it wasn't watchable.
Her confessionals became near nip slips, as she gestured strangely with her French tipped nails.
Oh, and she lied all the time. Jon kept it real.

She said people were jealous and people would try to sabotage. While I have no doubt that sometimes this happens, not every single person who dislikes you, disagrees with you, doesn't like your language or your jokes, or is causing problems for you is "jealous."

In fact I'm guessing a great many people wouldn't want to be in her shoes, and stuff like this is exactly why. Not everyone wants to be CNN.com's top story and they think about this when declining to pursue a public life. A mistake like this as a private person is almost always easier to recover from. But she's a public figure, and there just aren't any missteps allowed.

Joy by name and Joy by nature, I'm on my way. Save me some sangria. Although I have never met or even seen Stephanie I wish the happy couple all the best.

On the subject of weddings, I would like the opinions of some of the wise women here. Recently there has been a story in the news about a bride who berated a guest over their choice of wedding present. Apparently money was the preferred gift. I have noticed this a lot myself: guests are expected to give a cash gift equivalent to the amount that their presence costs. For example if the cost per plate is 100$, the gift should be 200$ per couple.

I think guests should give what they can afford and if brides and grooms cannot afford lavish expensive weddings they shouldn't have them and expect others to pay for them.

Weddings have become fund raisers rather than occasions to celebrate a joyful day.

I do know some cultures expect the cash, but I absolutely abhor this custom. I would like other viewpoints (but really I just want validation of my own). LOL

There was some discussion on the last thread about TLC paying Jamie and Ashley for the RV episode, yet Kate referred to them as paid help. If Kate being on the show is "work", then aren't Jamie and Ashley also working when they are on-camera? And shouldn't they also be paid for it? But Kate obviously didn't care what anyone else was being paid to do. She expected them to wait on her hand and foot.
Remember when she was loading up the RV and told the crew that it's time to "stop playing we're filming a TV show" and do some real work, because she's really done? They were doing their jobs--filming a show. Their jobs were not to cater to her. But to Kate, she is the only one working, and everyone else is just playing. The kids were just playing in front of the cameras. The crew was just playing. And, apparently, so were Jamie and Ashley. J and A were filming, too, plus taking care of the kids while Kate was having her hair and makeup done, or sneaked off with Steve for hours to--ahem--buy chicken. When Kate was cooking chicken over the fire, and bitching non-stop about it, J and A were amusing 11 kids. But to Kate, sitting there in her chair and letting the chicken burn, nobody is working but her.
I really hope that being dumped by TLC and losing everything they provided her is teaching Kate a lesson. Other people have work to do, too. They are not put on this Earth to wait on her. Nobody owes her anything. Yes, she had sextuplets. That was her choice, and she is responsible for them. She is not entitled to money or fame or help because of that choice. The RV episode served to show us that Kate really needed an attitude adjustment. Let's hope she got it.

I can say that these 2 women deserve one another and I truly think what the wedding guests should keep in mind is, thank God it's not you. What miserable, sour and joyless people. I'd hate to have to go through life with that chip on my shoulder.
At first I'd be offended by the bridezillas from Hell, but then I'd feel pity, and move on.
Reminds me of a unique wedding present DH and I received. Another couple gave us several bottles of wine in a straw-filled wood crate. Apparently, California Cabs were spectacular in the years just prior, and we got 3-4 bottles, and lined up at the end of these amazing wines was a bottle of Wild Irish Rose with a Post-It that read, "drink very cold, or not at all".

Layla I agree. In her mind not only is no job more important as doing exactly what she wants you to do at that moment, but I don't think she even sees other people as doing a job. To her a sound person is not doing all the various checks and rechecks and monitoring sound does. Rather in her mind, a sound person is just "standing there" not "helping." We have proof of this when she was complaining in her journal that the sound person was in her garage and it ticked her off. I am betting a million bucks the sound person was looking for a quiet place to check something with sound. However this thought never even crosses her brain. Same with her nanny. There was no value in Ashley playing with the kids, staving off boredom for them, keeping them happy for the cameras, keeping them corralled. Rather Ashley was just playing and having fun. I can assure Kate it is hard work to travel as a nanny like that and even if you are doing a good job putting on a front of total fun and happiness, inwardly you are likely exhausted. Besides I bet it Ashley held back on the fun, Kate would complain she wasn't entertaining the kids. Ashley was stuck. It all goes to just the complete lack of awareness. A completely self centered world view.

S I agree with you that I think you should bring what you can afford to a wedding. You know what, even if that's just a card. I think it's awful to expect things of people like that. These days with people so spread out you're also asking people to pay for a hotel and travel. Weddings have gotten out of control lately.

It's been interesting one of the blogs I follow rotates writers. And the current writer is a single mom with ex-husband problems. She has been complaining a lot about her ex and it's gotten worse, and she's been doing petty things like refusing to give him information he needs for the kids when she feels he's "wronged" her and she's been complaining for months about a vacation he wants to take with the kids (how dare he!). Wouldn't you know it, some of the readers, who are normally very kind (I've followed this blog for years), have started to lose it on her, calling her petty and telling her she's being a jerk.

This morning my feed burner had a post from her saying she was leaving the blog because the comments were really getting to her. She said she will NOT tolerate anyone telling her that she is the problem in this ex-relationship.

Sadly, I think this is exactly what she needed to hear. She sounds like a nice person who is slowly getting sucked down the path of parental alienation and I think readers were trying to call her out on it. Besides she didn't have to share anything about her ex, this is not a divorce blog. Anyway, in a way I'm glad to know that other people saw what I saw and that other people see this bitterness as a problem, but I'm also sad for her and her kids and hope she can find peace with this man.

Hi s, hope you enjoyed the virtual reception for our nonexistent bride and groom. I agree with you and Miss Manners about weddings. Couples and families should plan the wedding they can afford, and guests should be invited because their presence will be meaningful to the couple and/or family.
I have been to weddings that took place at church with a reception in the church hall and most of the food made by the bride s relatives. I have been to weddings with a photo booth, special lighting, elaborate catering at a ballroom, and open bar. You have fun because of the people there. You want to share the happiness of the couple and their families. You give a gift that is meaningful.
My mil has very limited income. She gives a modest gift to the grandchildren for all occasions. That's what she can afford. No one is leaving her off the guest list for weddings because she can't ” cover her plate” our give a large monetary gift. She doesn't have it to give. The grandchildren love her anyway.

**********************
Being a racist isn't a mistake, it is a choice. I get that she is a Southerner from "another" generation, but if she actually said what she is alleged to have said in 2007, it's no little "mistake:" "What I would really like is a bunch of little n******s to wear long-sleeve white shirts, black shorts and black bow ties. Now, that would be a true Southern wedding wouldn't it?"

Wow, Kate actually made a plug for her cookbook yesterday! I thought that was odd--she doesn't promote anything, as we all know. but looking at Novelrank this morning, she only has 203 total pre-orders. That's in the US, Canada, and the UK combined. Of course, the book is also available on Barnes and Noble, but they didn't have it available for order at first, so the first rush of people had to order from Amazon. Plus, B&N just isn't as big as Amazon. But let's be generous and give her 400 total pre-orders. In 3 months. Yikes! If I were Kate, I'd be panicked. Where are all the thousands of people she claimed were waiting for her cookbook? She publicly claimed thousands, but if this book comes out and only a few hundred sell (the numbers are already slowing), then this could be a huge public humiliation for her. It shows how big her real audience is. Most people can afford a cookbook, if they really want one. So, why wouldn't Kate's legions of fans all buy them? Many of the fans on Twitter claim to have bought multiple copies. If so, then how many fans does she really have?
Kate can play with the counter on her website all she wants, but if anyone in show business wants to see if she is really marketable, well, the real numbers don't lie. She couldn't maintain the interest of even a million viewers on her last show. They only watched when there wasn't anything better on TV. IJWYTK only sold 11,000 copies. And now this cookbook may not even sell 1,000 copies. There are the numbers, ugly as they might be. I foresee cases of unsold cookbooks sitting in Kate's basement, joining the cases of unsold copies of her other books and DVDs that are already there. I foresee a garage sale in her future.

It doesn't surprise me that she would tease a dog. She probably gave no thought that you don't do this to an animal. You just don't. She thought it was cute and funny and would make good blog fodder. If any friend of ours decided to prank or tease our dogs, they would be stopped immediately. We probably wouldn't even keep friends who thought it was funny to upset our animals.

PS: I really wouldn't want friends who choose to talk in a Scooby Do voice either. Maybe I am just too picky!

------------------------
And don't you also think that Kate herself is ordering her own book too? I think every few days, Kate herself places orders to try to show there is an interest in her cookbook when none exists.

It just makes sense because it is known that Kate has stockpiles of her other books in her basement. She pulls them out to try to sell or give away anytime she gets invited to appear (like the Zumba fundraiser when she accepted all the gifts for her so-called no-fee appearance).

We all know the few hundred pre-orders for her book already include MULTIPLE purchases by a few fans but I really believe that number also includes Kate buying them for herself.

Kate needs to get real and move on from her delusion that she is still marketable.

Thanks for the Paula Deen quote up there. I was looking for the exact quote about the wedding. It's hard to fathom in this day and age.
I think sometimes, well, probably many times, when people suddenly get wealth and power, they think they're invincible. Like "yeah, what are you doing to do about it?"

Ours too. It is probably up there in the top 3 problems that people have. To get the dog to the point where they are calm with knocking and entering is a VERY BIG DEAL.
My 2 larger dogs bark like crazy and we have gaits set up to keep them back. It takes minutes sometimes for me to get the dogs squared away so I can open the door peacefully.
At other times, when I get annoying solicitors wanting to sell me something, I let the barking go unchecked to they either go away, or give me a reason to say "sorry, can't do this now!".

Interestingly enough, I've been to a few weddings where it's been a ceremony followed by cake, punch and some finger food in the church fellowship hall lately. It's been a nice change of pace.

I think weddings should be a time of celebration with family and friends and you have one based on what you can afford, just like any party you might throw. People marry later in life now and don't need the housewares and appliances they once did.

I like weddings as well where the couple ask people to make a donation to a charity in lieu of gifts.

I'm using anonymous because I hate starting a comment and then realizing I have to log into Blogger because I usually lose my what I've typed.

That's what makes me want to bang my head against the wall. First of all, she's too dumb to know that you don't do this to a dog, and she just proves how stupid she is when she writes about it.

I wonder about how her brain is wired. No snark here. I really do. Is she stunted at a middle school level, or is there some chemical imbalance or other mental issue that just doesn't allow her to carry on the reasoning process that one would consider "normal." I really don't believe that some of these idiotic things she does is because she's mean, nasty and vindictive. I think that there's an organic cause for it. Or maybe I just have a hard time believing that anyone could be such a witch.

ITA about ringing the doorbell. She is immature and totally unaware. I got to wonder about Jamie, too.

We saw on the show that Kate has a cruel streak. She keeps trying to change that impression, but then she just sticks her mouth in her mouth time and time again either on Twitter or blogging. Money doesn't buy you class nor common sense.

Also, ITA on the wedding discussion. If someone invited me to a wedding and said cash only, I'd not go. That is greedy. I've heard of weddings where you are asked to contribute money for the honeymoon. I had a very small wedding. The solution is to do what you can afford and stop worrying about what other people think. It's a celebration, not a shakedown.

I am glad you are safe, and with the stories of people driving thru what they thought would be a "bit of water" and then having their vehicles lifted up and taken into the Elbow river, it is only by grace that more people have not been found dead or missing!

MY city was in the flood zone for this spring but it was not as bad as it good have been. However, we were affected in the fall of 2010 of a big storm with sewer backup, and I know how not having access to our basement for 1 year affected us, so I can only begin to imagine the devastation people who have lost their homes and everything but the clothes on their back, are feeling right now.

But Alberta is STRONG and will rise to the challenge. You all make tough look like a walk in the park.

Do most people even eat casseroles anymore? You rarely see such recipes and I don't see them much except at church pot lucks, even then they're becoming more rare. I have a feeling given they are so often high calorie, they've fallen out of fashion. Sales have been falling for Campbell's cream of mushroom and other similar building block basics of the dish. Would it really be that much extra work to maybe prepare the veggies steamed on the side instead of mushed up in a casserole drowned in cheese?

Casseroles are an easy way to feed a crowd, or have lots of leftovers. Nothing wrong with it, but it's a heat an eat. No skills or technique needed. I'm not knocking them. I make them occasionally and tonight, I'd argue that my jambalaya would probably qualify. I also adore tuna noodle casserole from time to time. There's something so comforting about it.
But, it's far from ambitious and I don't think I could claim to put any special twist on it, or that it's so, so special!!!!!!!!!
As Admin eluded to, it takes a lot more work and skill to make separate components that marry on a dish than to make a casserole.
I think certain areas of the country favor casseroles made with canned soup mixes. Maybe once I'll make a "hot dish" with tater tots on top!
