The show that unseated 'Jon and Kate Plus 8'
A&E's season premiere of Duck Dynasty last week garnered 11.8 million viewers. The big ratings beat out the previous record holder for reality T.V., Jon and Kate Plus 8, whose episode announcing the couple's split that aired in June 2009 hit 10.8 viewers. That goose is cooked. The successful show about a family who makes duck callers and other equipment for duck hunters has also earned its stars a raise, at more than $200,000 an episode for the family according to most reports.
A&E tonight will repeat the Duck episode that now reigns supreme, as well as a new episode. Check local listings. The episode can also be seen online for free on A&E's web site.

Not to mention the needy that need shoes

Actually, they said, "We are The Borg."
That's right, I forgot they gave one pair of shoes to needy children for every one that you buy. So technically, by not delivering the promised coupons, if people don't buy, you're taking food out of the mouths of two people.
I think the logic is silly, but it works both ways if they want to go there.

"Wanna know what Cara and Mady's current FAVORITE coupon is..."
Wanna see my kids' poop?
Wanna watch them throw up?
Wanna see them cry and ask their Daddy why he isn't coming home?
Wanna see my kids? Wanna know what THEY use coupons for?
It'll only cost you hits to MY website, following ME on Twitter, buying MY cookbook, getting ME on the cover of People...
Brilliant Sheri. You've summed up what so many of us have felt for so long, and you did it with humor. She served it up and you dove in and nailed it! Timing.
I think coupon sites have helped water down the value of coupons. Its like the timeline of "outlet" shopping. 20 years ago, outlet shopping could get you deals, then "outlet" malls sprung up, prices increased and designers began creating new lines (lesser quality) allocated for "outlet" stores. I think the same thing has happened to coupons. So many times I will go to a coupon site and the special offer is the same thing I get for going directly to the manufacturer, only I don't need a code, the item is already reduced.
I think she is late in the game to capitalize on couponing.
Rain I think you summed up perfectly what is going on here. Coupons don't require hardly any work anymore to get so more and more people are using them and retailers can't afford them anymore or will have to raise their prices to compensate. They were also abused which made them even more reluctant to release a great deal. In the good ole days you could really score a fantastic deal, now you are lucky to get 5 bucks off, as you could today on Tom's.
You are 100% right about outlet malls. I looked this up after I realized some things I bought at Old Navy outlet were disintegrating after a few washes. I don't expect cashmere from Old Navy but what gives with that? I found out it's just as you said, and they admit it, that it's literally a lower-end line. I haven't been to outlets since, it doesn't "save" me anything to have a shirt breaking down after two washes. I will pay more if it lasts longer.
I think coupon websites are merely turnstiles for clicks. And every click adds value to the site. I wonder if and when the value of a website will depend on more than visits.
Well personally I think we're already there for many sites. If your web site's revenue is based only on ads, your value is only as good as how many people click on them. If you have millions of visitors a day but no clicks, you're really not worth much.
Celebrity sites are actually notorious for making next to nothing in money unless your following is over the top. And although there are some celeb sites out there, for as many celebs as people are obsessed with you would think there would be a lot more. There's not. There's no money in it. Many celebs don't even have an official site anymore, and if they do it's just a placeholder to put SOMETHING up with their name on it. Fan sites are practically non existent and if they do they make nothing. It's all about blogs now and even those in this niche are not of much value.
A few of the big ones like Perez and Radar have cornered the market and anyone else who wants to get in will be getting on on the pennies they left behind.
On the contrary, a site about say, camera reviews can net a person millions even if they only have a small amount of readers, because most of their readers and coming there hot to purchase something and will click and purchase eventually. People who read celeb sites aren't usually on there because they're shopping. They do their shopping later, elsewhere.

Do you suppose the sheeple will have nasty comments about Kate when Kate eventually fires Kate? Kate is a joke who doesn't know the true value of Kate and what she brings to the table?
Admin, thanks for explaining, I honestly thought value was based on traffic, and the advertisements followed.
@Kateplusmy8 you're the mother every young lady wants to be someday, don't know how you do but you do it amazingly ♥
__________
Um no I rather be like my own mother.
Sarah that's true for some sites. It depends on the ad system they use. I use google and they don't care if you make five cents a month or 5,000 bucks, they get their cut either way.
If you want to go after individual advertisers I think that's more like what Pioneer Woman does, that's really more for huge businesses who have the time, energy and know how to do that. I assume they want detailed reports of your site to know how much to charge, etc. But major sites use google and you don't have to do a thing but put a code in and the money rolls in....well, if you're lucky!
If I'm not mistaken, Kate has used exactly what we do on this site: adsense. She's not doing anything special that anyone else isn't doing.
Did you know that the founder of Tom's shoes, Blake Mycoskie, was on The Amazing Race? He came in second with his sister. During the race, they went to Argentina. A few years later he went back on vacation and came up with the idea for the shoes and giving a pair to the needy. See what good can come from a reality show?

Everybody do the HAPPY DANCE!!!!! New People tomorrow, no more looking at Kate mug! Interesting, isn't it, some stores did not even get that issue in. LOLOLOL
I have family in Texas and they used to babysit Blake and his sister. They are a very nice family. They are how I first heard about Tom's. Three pairs later! :)
My favorite is the white lace ones, they are so cute.
I saw the new issue of People and it's Prince George on the cover, and then in the sidebar the terrible tragedy of the bachelor contestant committing suicide. Both stories got top billing in the news this month. There is also a very sweet story of Bethany Hamilton, that surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack, getting married to someone from her church group.
By the way I think we found a photographer worse than TFW. Grandpa Middleton! :) But the funny thing about that is they are actually TRYING to be mediocre by just releasing mediocre, blurry, poorly cropped family pics. I dont' think they released those having the slightest belief they were high quality photos. They knew exactly what they were putting out. If you see a version that looks fine to you it's because other people have been photoshopping them and cleaning them up.
I know i've seen it asked here before, but how can you see Kate's Twitter timeline with all the posts, not just what she claims to see?
does anyone believe that Kate's twitter acct. are what parents chit chat about their children on a daily basic and because Kate has no husband/boyfriend or close girl friends/family she uses her fans? for adult conversations. Kate really does miss adults more then being with the kids 24/7.........Kate's "sob sob" when kids are in school next week she'll miss them is just plain funny. Kate probably has bags packed now for book tour!

If TFW' s coupon site is a coupon newbie' s first experience, I can see a big run on paying full price. It would be less painful.
It's kind of sad that it's been all day and not a single sheeple has been brave enough to tell TFW that the TOMS coupons she raved about DON'T WORK. Not a single reply to her tweet breaking the news.
I guess they're afraid they'll be sent to the leper colony or something.
I haven't been to TFW's coopin ( thanks Ron White) site and won't ever go there. No need...I know she an idiot.
As for DD beating the Jon and former wife + 8 in ratings is not a shock. I just wonder if TFW thinks so. Does she not understand she was never a STAR or she was never something awesome? She was a guilty pleasure. Something people watched only to watch her marriage fall apart...for the drama. After the drama was over and the show was just the beast and the kids....the ratings fell...week after week.
Like TFW thinks she's something special cause she sold a book or 2. Well honey...that snookie tramp beat you in sales and Im sure the DD guys will beat you in sales too.
Not being nasty but its not that hard to get on the NY times best seller list....Altho I don't think her latest book " how I starve my kids to make them behave" wont be on that list this time.
Do you get it yet TFW? You were a fad and now you are a HASBEEN!!!! You are done..the next time the spotlight will shine on you is when the 8 start selling their OWN books about you. That should scare the shit out of you like Shocka gets everytime you get close to him.
Be afraid TFW...be very afraid!

This morning someone tweeted a message they got in their email from Amazon that the release date for Kate's cookbook has been postponed by the supplier to estimated arrival date Oct. 14, 2013 due to changed release date.

Amazon and B&N still list a late September release date for TFW's cookbook. But a Twitter fan posted this email from Amazon, earlier today...says the publication date was pushed back for yet another month, to late October.
https://twitter.com/staceyjenkinss/status/370872854877061120/photo/1
Retailmenot.com is an awesome site. They keep it up to date which is why I keep going back. That's the whole point: to avoid the expiration dates.
Ironic she starts a coupon site after being fired by CC for being "inauthentic". And her frightful scene screaming at Jon when he didn't use a coupon was not putting a good face on coupon shopping. Reacting like a banshee over a few bucks when they just bought a million dollar home was the stupidest thing I ever saw. I suspect this was Kate's idea, not the producer's, because she simply doesn't have a clue.
Hmmm so TFW release date for her cookbook was pushed back?
Does this mean her week of promoting/touring is pushed back as well?
Deja vu from 2009?
"Christian publisher Zondervan is going to postpone the debut date of Kate Gosselin's next book, Love is in the Mix: Making Meals into Memories."
HCI is controlling the release date. I am not clear as to why there would be a delay when the cookbook has been preselling for months and Kate has a book tour schedule. I did find it odd when a twitter asked about her schedule in one town, and Kate replied she wasn't sure, only a vague answer as to at the end of the month. That was odd. You would most certainly be on top of your calendar.
I checked Amazon and it still says a release date of Sept. 24 and the price is $13.77. I guess you have to pre-order to get the letter?

_____________________
Don't you think it's because she's only sold at the very most 500 books?
Tweet, not so sure that 500 is accurate. I do believe it will not sell well, but if she paid to have 50K printed, HCI will print it because they made money from her. Is that how it works with self- printing?
Forgive me for stating the obvious, but HCI is worried about this slopbook.
Do we know for a fact that she's paid for the printing of 50,000? I'm getting confused with regard to the whole printing thing.
Due to the People article, her sales jumped this month and they're up to 102 so far. It's a jump for what she's sold in the past but considering how many magazines People sells in a month, selling an extra 50 books is peanuts.

Much too early in the morning to be thinking of Kate's cooking. Blech.
Wow, "wanna" know how to make Kate's tuna casserole?
2 boxed mac and cheese mix
cans of tuna
frozen peas
Not. Kidding.
I swear, kids in their college dorms are eating better.

Nothing to do with the fact that her followers aren't real people.....
It's no longer paired with the Duggar's cookbook, but Amazon says it's "frequently bought together" with the Pioneer Woman's Holiday cookbook (release date Oct. 29th). LOL and hmmm....
When TFW went to Australia to meet Steve's parents...do y'all think it was filmed and went so badly that it wasn't aired (ala Palin episodes), or that the parents said no to filming? Or maybe they said no to meeting TFW?
Why would she think Steve's parents would be interested in meeting one of his clients anyway? Do they normally meet his guardees?
The tweeter who got the email about the book being delayed lives in the UK. The Amazon.uk site now shows the release date as Oct.10. Perhaps there was a problem with shipping the book overseas.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kate-Gosselins-Love-Mix-Family-Friendly/dp/0757317642
BTW, B&N's website now lists her book signing in Staten Island. I hope anyone who plans on going to her book signing realize that they have to purchase the book at B&N in order to have it signed. If they pre-ordered, they will have to buy it again if they want it signed. Although I wonder if they can get it signed if they pre-ordered through B&N.
http://store-locator.barnesandnoble.com/event/4569814
I've never been to a book signing, so I don't know how that would work.
That's too bad they have a rule you have to have a Barnes and Noble receipt. When I went to the Santa Monica signing they had no problem with me bringing in my "outside" book from Amazon. That's how it should be. I ended up buying something from them anyway so it was a win win for them.
Once again, Kate is using her kids to fill and sell the book. It's loaded with everything that you've already seen on their show.
That tuna casserole sounds disgusting. I also can't believe someone so healthy and organic would encourage eating that powdered mac and cheese stuff. It's full of chemicals, including dyes and genetically modified wheat, and one box has 561 mg of sodium.
Jeebus, look at kate's "swiss steak". 3 entire cans of celery soup. That's over 5000 mg. of sodium!!
There is A LOT of canned goods. Cara's Sausage and Beans has no less than 5 canned/jarred products.
Yeah, I could rest my head on a plane and dream up a dump recipe like this. Then I'd swear to never make it.
Kate literally took other people's products, threw them together, and slapped a moniker on it.
Hey, anyone want to make Tucker's Mom's nachos?
Spread Tostitos on plate
Sprinkle Sargento shredded cheese
Plop down some Pace salsa
Dollop Lucerne sour cream on top
Tada!!
I checked Amazon and it still says a release date of Sept. 24 and the price is $13.77.
&&&
Does that seem REALLY cheap for a cookbook full of glossy photos that hasn't even been released yet? That's the price I would expect for it 6 months later, not on opening day.
I just don't understand the canned goods thing. There is nothing wrong with resorting to them in a pinch either time wise or financially but this is a woman who has been preaching since the children were little about how important it is for her to give her children the best food. No one uses canned goods looking at all the sodium and chemicals and thinks all that is GOOD for you.
This seems hypocritical. She was a woman who claimed to be all about good nutrition and organic. I don't understand how this jives with that. 5,000 mg of sodium is nauseating. This makes no sense. Has she revamped her food point of view as they say on FNS? Now she's more, fast and for big groups, instead of organic and nutritious? Wouldn't that sort of make people skeptical you're a phony?
With all these recipes calling for canned soups like celery (I'm not sure I could even find that anymore if I tried, most of these soups that were front and center back in the day are now buried on the top shelf somewhere), or cooked in crockpots, these recipes almost have a retro, Mad Men feel to it. Maybe she is going for a 60's theme?
The boy tups do not look happy in the book photo shoot shots. Forced smiles, no joy.
Note to all the tweeny boppers buying the book-- I know you have close to zero cooking skills and think Kate has mad culinary skillz, but believe me when I tell you the time to season meat is BEFORE you brown it, not after.
You're welcome.
This seems hypocritical.
***
In the book, Kate goes on and on and on about eating organic, yet her recipes are virtually void of fresh ingredients.
So she DOES go on about organic. What? How can any editor look at this book and think this makes sense? "Organic" then she recommends boxed mac and cheese that has dyes and chemicals and GMOs?
This is like finding a vegetarian cookbook full of recipes that contain meat.
The recipes are very retro.
Go look in your mom's or grandma's or great Aunt's cookbook shelf, pull out the church or school cookbook and cook away.
I have a couple treasured, ancient Crock Pot cookbooks from my mother and it reads about the same.
I think right about now Zondervan is feeling like they made a pretty good business decision back in the day.
Is there a direct link to the "look inside?" Please? For some reason, it's not working for me. Thanks.
K so maybe I'm missing something but why would you buy the book when you can go to amazon click on "show inside" and see most of it online??
Also, this woman is living in the past glory days as a lot of the photos are old, and who in their right mind would highlight the pumpkin carving tradition after we all saw first hand how she handled that one??
I do find in odd that TFW uses a lot of canned foods in her cookbook recipes.
The photos are better than I thought they'd be so I bet she hired someone to take photos.
Mel said... 54
Hmmm don't girlfriend usually meet the parents?
She sounds like a typical child of the 70's-80's who was taught to cook from church cookbooks, Grandma, Auntie Mildred, etc. Staples were Campbells soups and boxed mac and those little dried onion crumble things you put on top of casseroles. Nothing wrong with that. Me too. PW even looks back nostalgically on such recipes.
Except as time went on and we learned and evolved and discovered more about our food thanks to some outspoken critics of our food industry, we learned where it comes from what's in it and we learned more about nutrition. Obesity became a matter of national concern and some places even put laws in place about some of the ingredients we used to use regularly and many companies modified their ingredients. We started to realize our mothers' and grandmothers' recipes were often, unintentionally, bad for us. So we modified them a little, a lot or ditched them completely, opting for fresher simpler ingredients and for some organic or farmer's market, to avoid the bad things but keep the good. Food evolution.
Except for some reason, TFW missed that memo.
Most of the pics are from her twitter as well or her website.
Is this some sort of glitch? I feel like you can basically read the entire book online at Amazon. Or maybe it just FEELS really long.
The photo of the boys eating their apples looks straight out of Ralph Lauren is just gorgeous. The photographer if I recall is from upstate NY. She shoots on a Canon Mark III. Makes me think had she been given control of the shoot, no one would have green bunny ears.
This is hysterical. Kate's tips for grocery shopping with kids. Actually I think any mother would love to know what's the secret for shopping with kids especially since grocery shopping always seems to bring out the worst in them, so what is it Kate?:
Hire a babysitter or wait until your spouse comes home then go shopping alone.
I.e. DON'T shop with kids in the first place.
BAW-HAHHAHA. That is GREAT.
The writing in the cookbook is horrible! The descriptions that precede the recipes need help. For Cara's Sausage, she states that this recipe came to here while she was resting (with her eyes closed!) on a long flight to LA. She then goes on to say she rushed right home and into the kitchen to make this dish. How??? She said she was going to LA. It makes no sense.
The other comments are cringe worthy. I think $13 is too much for this drivel.
Kate also says tips for picky eaters are don't make them clean their plate.
She just had a blog post saying she would actually pile on MORE of the offending food if they didn't eat what she gave them. So, whatever.
Grocery shopping tips for Moms!!
1. Have an assigned parking spot. A must!
2. Bring a film crew- that way, they pay!!
3. Get free mild for YEARS, then bitch, moan and complain when you have to pay yourself!!
4. Be sure to leave those rug rats at home!!
She's just a big dope head. When she'd claim "organic" on the show it was organic "fluff" organic "peanut butter" organic "lollipops" organic "jelly beans"
For the milllion and EIGHTH time organic does not equal healthy!
Go down the "organic" aisle in any grocery store and it's still stuff that comes out of a box or can. Over processed, full of preservatives and chemicals, words you can't even pronounce...
You know those kids are not allowed to just try a bit and leave food on the plate.
Yes, Kate recently said she will make them eat even more of the offending victuals. Oops.
She did hire a photographer. At one point I knew her name. She specializes in children photography.
The reason why Kate can claim that her recipes are so simple is because they are void of detail.
What type of pan or pot?
Non stick?
Cast iron?
What level of heat? Low, med. high?
I take it back. This is not a cookbook for those with little to no cooking experience. You have to assume a whole lot to get through a recipe.

9. Take up a checkout lane all to yourself.
There are no other tips besides ditch the kids. The rest of it goes on and on about how grocery shopping was such a great time for her to get those kids out of her hair, relax and have a mini vacation. LOL where are the TIPS?
She actually has the gall to tell people they should just grocery shop guilt free even if the economy is bad. How, exactly? What if you CAN'T shop guilt free because you're already 50 bucks over budget your last week's paycheck and your credit card is maxed out? She has NO IDEA.
I have a great tip about kids, wait for it....DON'T HAVE THEM IF THEY'RE SUCH A PAIN IN YOUR REAR.
Overwrought prose, as per usual, but may have been edited. Maybe. She spells "veggies" right, for once...so yeah, there's that. S
Food pics are more appealing than what we've seen on Twitter, but the family pics are so contrived! Doesn't look like anyone feels all that comfy in Kate's Kitchen, at least to me.
Re the "pick-a-nick" section: Couldn't help but notice that someone's head appears to be adding a little extra push-up to TFW's "good bra."
It just came to me, the photographer is Ariana Falerni.
Her skills are average with a few really great hits mixed in there.
More tips: Shop at local discount grocery stores.
Genius!
Also, stock up when items are on sale.
Noooo, never thought of that one!!
On the other hand, I personally think it's rude and selfish to clear out an entire shelf of sale items especially when there's two other moms with five kids between them behind me hoping to feed their families too, so.
I dont think it was that edited since I already spotted 10 typically's. I think most editors would have removed that silly word.
If you look at the first page(under the picture of the book) it has a disclaimer. Basically, it's a warning for people with food allergies, but this line made me laugh.
"All recipes are used at the risk of the consumer"
It also states that if you have allergies or health problems to contact your medical professional before the use of any recipe and that neither the publisher nor the author is responsible for any hazard, loss, damage, that may occur as a result of any recipe preparation or use.
Is that disclaimer normal for most cookbooks today? I don't buy cookbooks, so I wouldn't know.
There is also a list of people who helped with the book, such food photographer, food stylist, recipe testers.
So if they were recipe testers, you would think some of the ambivalent instructions would have been made more specific, especially what size bag of carrots to use.

DH and I did a photo shoot with all of his family while on vacation a couple weeks ago. The boys exuded joy and fun and the 2 photographers worked really well with them, so that they let loose and were natural.
(even though some of the posing embarrassed them! Hug my brother? Noooooooooooooo!)
She posted her own "typical" meal plan for herself: breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack.
It's really scary, everything in small portions, one cup, and basically greens with a TINY amount of protein. She's going to kill herself.
Oh too funny. Go look at Kate in actual bunny ears.
There are post its stuck on the Easter basked handles, and two look like they're slapped on her tatas.
One says "Steve picked me", and the other says "Former saggy baggy".
She just had a blog post saying she would actually pile on MORE of the offending food if they didn't eat what she gave them. So, whatever
*************************************
There, that shows just how evil, YES evil, she is. She has sadistic tendencies. This obviously gives her tremendous pleasure. She enjoys causing discomfort to her children and reinforces just WHO has the power. Just wait TFW, Karma karma karma
Oh, Lord. There was a recipe tester.
We started to realize our mothers' and grandmothers' recipes were often, unintentionally, bad for us. So we modified them a little, a lot or ditched them completely, opting for fresher simpler ingredients and for some organic or farmer's market, to avoid the bad things but keep the good. Food evolution.
&&&&&&&&&&&&
I still cook that way. Old PA Dutchmen are a stubborn lot, refusing to ditch anything, and most of them still live into their 80s and 90s. It's unusual to see an Amish or Mennonite die young from a heart attack caused by clogged arteries. I wonder why. Good genes, maybe, and over generations they have built up a resistance to grease, fat and fried foods!
Well, Kate's Herbie Chicken photo is accurate at least. Make that and your sauce WILL break, just like in that photo.
I never knew how to grocery shop and now thanks to TFW I do thanks so much.
I can also tell my mom and SIL's how to grocery shop as well.
Looks like it's time for a new thread. LOL.
It's really scary, everything in small portions, one cup, and basically greens with a TINY amount of protein. She's going to kill herself.
***************************************
But Admin, she's SKINNY!! The bobble head look is IN
There are some personal photos in the cookbook that are NOT credited.
I have a busy day so I guess I'll go through it later, but I'll keep checking in. This is too good to pass up.
I think it is going to be very hard for younger generations to continue to eat traditionally when all the education in schools is basically breeding a Healthy and Whole Foods mentality for better or worse. You can't even buy some of the traditional ingredients in places like Whole Foods.
She has a whole chapter on organic. I don't get it. Are you organic or retro casseroles? I really don't think you can be both. Not easily anyway.
Is Susan her personal chef? She thanks her in the acknowledgements lol. Along with dead grandma, but nooo other relatives. Any celeb book I've seen always thanks their husband, children and family first before launching into anyone else.
Not sure if this went through, will try again
She's such a dope head. Organic does not equate HEALTHY.
Remember the organic fluff, organic lollipops, organic jelly beans? She's hand them out to the kids with a stupid ass comment about them being good for them because they were organic.
Imbecile. Go down any ANY organic aisle in any grocery store and many MANY products are in boxes, cans and are full of preservatives, sodium, sugars, trans-fats, words you can't even pronounce. I know we've had this discussion ad nauseum, but she STILL hasn't learned or even TRIED to learn. Oh yeah, a narcissist can't learn

She posted her own "typical" meal plan for herself: breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack
**********
Where is that? I'd love to read it.
I did see the picnic pic under "traditions". She had tweeted that at one time. The only reason she had the kids outside posing in a picnic, IMO was to put it in her cookbook. Same with them lined up on the stripe with popcorn like little soldiers.
Why would anyone buy this book when it's basically there online? This isn't just a "look inside." It's the "read the whole darn thing inside."
At least there is a picture of Kate rockin that bikini top...for Gladys, of course.
When she gives tips about packing the kids' lunches and talks about pre-packaging their snacks, she says "label for easy packing". The picture that accompanies that is the picture she tweeted when she was cooking and freezing tomatoes!
http://img.ly/7xxG
What does that picture have to do with snacks? Wouldn't she have had some pre-packaged, pre-labeled snacks in her freezer that she could have used?
That was definitely a head-scratcher!
It might be on pages not included but in the organic chapter I see nothing explaining what organic is and why it's better. You might want to start with that on a chapter about the virtues of organic eating. I really don't think she has the foggiest idea.
I'm surprised they used so many cell phone pics. What, did Ariana quit halfway through the shoot? I understand old pics of the children but there is no reason to use a cell phone pic of green beans. Seriously?
My mother cooked like TFW, back in the good ol' 50's. I have a collection of those recipes, including a cute retro book of Campbell's soup recipes. Very occasionally, and usually just for nostalgia, I pull one out and make it. Emphasis on occasionally. If these are the recipes in her cookbook, the can dump kind, then she is WAY off the mark. Swiss steak? Boxed mac and cheese, add canned tuna and peas? And then she has the balls to post her own diet, which is not this stuff. I doubt this will happen, but I would love to see an interviewer ask her why she eats one way and feeds her kids another. Clueless tool.
I'm surprised Kate packed so much "fluff" and old photos into her book. Kind of a rip off. Most stuff seen on her show.
Her tips are also quite insulting and holier than thou. The woman has help out the wazoo for years so yeah, her kitchen is always clean and tidy.
Ask a real working mother what her house looks like most of the time, dear.
It just smacks of elitism, and is so hypocritical.
If you love love love being with your kids, how can you dream of a job that takes you away half the time. It's just not congruent.
She says that when the kids were toddlers the pumpkin carving "tradition" took a lot longer than it does now. "much longer than THEIR patience levels" WTF? If I recall correctly, they were sitting there all quiet and enthralled and SHE lost it! Lying sack of...
She is stuck in the past. It's all about when the SIX were toddlers, how hard it was, how chaotic it was, stressful ...yada yada yada...
you'll be wishing for those days soon enough
How to keep your kitchen free of clutter:
1. Buy a 6000+ square foot home with your big bags of money
2. Get a free, custom, luxury-packed, gourmet kitchen while you relax at the beach for a couple weeks.
Good laugh-- Kate says that if she has clutter, her brain is cluttered and she can't create "masterpieces".
I think I need to go to McDonald's and order a masterpiece for lunch. Do they supersize those?
I just refreshed the page and the banner ad up top reads "Kraft - you make it special".
Can't get more on point than that.
Bahaha! who's UNCLE Steve, the orginal pizza guru?

(((((((((
LOL She's a liar face! I guess I'm the only Real Housewives fan here so I'm the only one who will get that.
I see in the acknowledgements she thanked "Uncle Steve" and called him the "original pizza guru". So I guess that confirms that Steve is "Mr. Smith".
She thanks Mady for the amazing pictures she took for the book, implying that most of the pictures were taken by Mady. She thanks Cara for going through the book and checking for grammatical and sentence structure errors. But she doesn't thank any of the tups by name, just gives a general thanks to "my children" for asking her to write the book.
She starts the acknowledgements by saying, " I have written a few books, but never a cookbook". So what was that book from 2009? Did she conveniently forget that it got pulled before it was published?
I noticed that there is nothing listed in the index that refers to "glossary" or "cooking terms". Isn't it standard for most cookbooks to have a list of terms used in the book?
I hope people who buy this book know the difference between "sauté" and "steam" and other terminology, especially those who plan to use this book to learn to cook.
Her "tips" on money saving remind me of stupid magazine blurbs or headings on my msn homepage. After every one of them, I forehead slap and go "doh!"It's all fluff and page fillers.
There was an Oprah episode on getting people to get their credit under control. One family ONLY USED PAPER PLATES. Can't remember the $ amount that they spent but it was ASTOUNDING! What was more ASTOUNDING was that someone had to point this out to the family. Again "DOH!"
I agree, I feel the preview of TFW's cookbook on Amazon feels as if they showed too much, and will kill whatever chance she had to add to her dismal sales numbers.
Admin, in the Acknowledgements (which go on for bloody-ever), she credits Mady as the photographer.
My husband would refer to her dinner recipes as "glop", he is not a casserole fan, but I agree, this cookbook is a time-warp back to the 60's!
She LOVES having her kids by her side while she's in the kitchen preparing. Oh my, this is just too good! LOL
My God, seriously how many memories and how much SUPER FUN can one family actually have. I know I only have 2 kids and the last one's graduation was yesterday but looking back I not only cherish the fun times but the difficult ones as well it has made us all who we are.
I swear I would look at my kids and tell them to cut it out and go misbehave, if all they ever did was praise me tell me how wonderful I was and how much they loved me

Hmmm, I don't know about you other moms, but do your kids stay in be until 7:30 Christmas morning? What a strange thing to put in there.
Let me summarize Kate's cookbook:
I...I...I...I...I...followed by I....with a little "I" thrown in....
GAH.
I don't like how they smeared Joels' face with tomato sauce in one photo. That's insulting to a nine year old who supposedly likes to 'look good.'
I see Shoka has a recipe in their. Sure.

Joy, every summer I get sucked into this show. I watched the live feed on TVGN last night so I know the outcome. This sounds like a great week and I’m really hoping these people make a big move and shake the game up.
Kate sure isn't apologizing for deforesting half of South America. She urges people to use paper/disposable products daily. Doesn't even give ideas for using green or recycled products.
Abject waste.
Utterly disconnected from the issues of the world.
Delightful "Do-Able" Dinners? The proper spelling is Doable. No hyphen. Pretty glaring error. The dictionary is your friend. Oh dear.
Her personal menu is severely lacking in protein. Her calories are way too low if she is a serious runner (as she likes people to believe).
Congrats chef on finally learning the fine art of pushing a cart down some aisles with food on them.
Changing lives!
Knowing that TFMJG probably ignored the advice of the makeup artists, hair stylists, and costume designers at DWTS, I can see her having a food stylist and professional photographer and recipe tester and them ignoring what they advised.
OT: Big Brother is so fun! I would seriously watch TFMJG compete in a celebrity version. Using celebrity to mean ” people who are desperate to stay in the public eye and willing to have cameras on them 24/7 except they probably would not read all the rules and would think that didn't apply to them”.
The pudding painting? Yeah, "sit your kids at the table" like that would EVER happen and as if it ever did!!
"don't be surprised if they lick their art the next day"
She forgot "and don't forget to scream bloody murder if they do and make sure to use ice cold water from a blasting water hose to clean them up! What memories you'll make!"
I agree, I feel the preview of TFW's cookbook on Amazon feels as if they showed too much, and will kill whatever chance she had to add to her dismal sales numbers.

Anyone notice Kate's man-sized hands in the staged cooking with a wok picture with Leah? They are HUGE!
What's the point behind the picture of the boys sitting barefoot and eating apples on the kitchen counter!?! Doing that outside would be better but they do not need to be forced to pose for pictures for the fame-crazed mom.
Hate that she is pushing baby & toddler pictures AGAIN to the public. That is so obviously a bait to get people to buy the dang cookbook.

Ah it was rough thank God her cookbook is coming so.
I can learn how to add to much salt and dump canned food into my pots.
One of the first pictures shows the kids at the counter with lemon wedges and flour scattered on the countertop! LOL! She famously put garbage bags all over the countertops and told the kids that if they got so much as one granule of sugar on it, they were DONE, and she made good on that promise - on camera! Staging that shot must have really bugged her!

"A Utah mother will have to answer to a felony fraud charge after police alleged she bilked donors out of thousands of dollars by pretending her daughter was battling leukemia.
Abreail Winkler, 30, was charged on Tuesday with one count of communications fraud, according to Keith Campbell, assistant chief of the Vernal Police Department. He said the charge was filed after a month-long investigation in July.
Winkler has not yet entered a plea and attempts to reach her at listed phone numbers were unsuccessful. Her first court appearance was scheduled for Sept. 9.
According to Campbell, Winkler tugged at the heartstrings of her Vernal, Utah, community by telling people her 4-year-old daughter was battling leukemia. She was allegedly able to use the ruse to collect more than $3,000 in donations, Campbell said."

Looked at the book...I don't know how many times she wrote 'typically.' Aaargh!! Also note the boys posed lying on the counter tops. With so much advice about keeping a kitchen clean, I'm surprised she allowed this (I know she's sat there, as well as had the mani/pedis there, but for a book?) She also contradicted herself a couple of time- she said she saves leftovers for her Thursday Night Surprise Menu choices but then said she sends some to school for lunch. She also claimed to use reusable containers for lunches, then disposable ones, then advised having baggies on hand!
I also think her Ms Bunny Easter candy sale tradition is pretty weird and doesn't sound like fun to me..
But she doesn't thank any of the tups by name, just gives a general thanks to "my children" for asking her to write the book.

WS Journal- how authors buy their way onto the NYT bestseller list
I found this article which reiterates what our awesome resident authors have already told us. Not only can you buy your way onto the NYT bestseller list, you can also hire a somewhat shady company to do it for you. IJWYTK was manipulated onto the list and I don't expect anything different for this crookbook. Between creating, publishing and NYT bestseller list $tomfoolery$, this book is going to cost the kids a small fortune. I don't think TFW got into this book ever expecting it to be a moneymaker. Rather, it's to fuel her narcissistic supply, a means to get attention, press, TV time and a book tour. If she can't get a job and get attention, she'll create the attention. Because she actually admitted in People that she was a diva, I predict she's laying the groundwork for a redemption tour. She'll say she was sowwy for being a bitch and if you'll just hire me for something, ANYTHING.. I'll be nice (suckerz...no I won't) mmmkay??!!
To recap for the gals in the barnyard: The book has presold about 500 copies in 5 months. The cost of the book was slashed by 63%. The release date has been pushed back twice, if the new Oct. release date reports are true. It's doing terribly. When it ends up on the NYT bestseller list, it won't be because Kate is a popular celebrity and author. It will be because of some underhanded manipulations. Once it spends it's one bought week on the list, it will end up at the Dollar Tree just like Kate's other books.
Wait a minute.
Pg 258
"Don't require the plate to be cleaned. Praise your child for trying a bite or two of something new."
Other than her love of the word 'require' and her revolting grammar, I thought she proudly announced that if they didn't like it, they got more of it put on their plates and yes, they were REQUIRED to eat it all? In fact the sheeple PRAISED that. Well, they will praise this 2 bite thing too. Ewe betcha.
This woman gives me a headache. I am watching my state's Supreme Court hear arguments right now (on PBS) and the arguing attorney has quite a facial tic going on, poor guy. Quirky and distracting. Still - more interesting than whatever lie and swindle JGFW is shoving at the sheeple today.
"She makes a point to sit around the table all together. They each take turns speaking in an organized manner..."
Mealtimes must be so much fun around that table, or perhaps not. I also have a vision of a gate across the top of the stairs, and as soon as the 7:30 call to breakfast comes. . . What is this, a fricking boarding school from another century?
Wonder how difficult it is to knead dough when you have claws of a rat?
I think it's funny the sheeple assumed a story about cv must be good publicity when really it was about a lawsuit against the site for posting nasty and vile defamation. This is the only real lawsuit we've see so far and it's against them, lol!
Ha I LoVE this! cheater vile lawyers say hey we're just a host we're not responsible for what people may post in our site.
So why then are they going after blog owners about Kate, saying they're responsible for posts they don't like? You can't have it both ways. Either you're responsible or you're not but you don't get to pick and choose depending on who is suing. I hope this CA couple successfully gives them a well deserved smackdown. What happened to them is unforgivable.
According to what was said in the clip, the lawsuit isn't against the site. The couple wants to sue whomever made the post for defamation. It's "possible" to sue the site IF they helped the original poster with the content of their post, but that doesn't sound too promising.

___________________
Perhaps that is why BV has publicaly released all that he collected from RWA...because he can't sue.
True they're not suing cheaterville directly but the bad publicity has been enough for cv to put a lawyer on it. Their attorney said they believe cv has some liability but that laws that protect hosts may shield them. They are going to subpoena them though. This is from a Sacramento local station 10news.
My point is how can they go after blogs while at the same time claim they're immune when people go after them? It's complete and utter hypocrisy.
This is part of the transcript provided at the link, which I have cleaned up a bit to make it more readable:
The attorney for Cheaterville says that the claim is false, and he welcomes the suit against those who posted the story. Cheaterville's attorney also says their site isn't legally responsible for the content posted by third parties. If you defame somebody on Facebook, Facebook isn't liable. Liability attaches to the person who made the statements and that person only.
Reporter: But the couple's attorney says they're still considering suing Cheaterville as well [as the person who posted the false info.].
Alleging it goes further than just allowing people to air their gripes, which would probably be legal, the couple's attorney says that Cheaterville actually help users create content, which could leave Cheaterville legally responsible for what gets posted on the site. He claims Cheaterville bases its business plan specifically around attracting slanderous, libelous comments.
Cheaterville said it gave the IP address of the the person who posted the picture [to the couple's attorney?].
The couple says they don't know who [posted the picture]. But winning a suit against Cheaterville could be tough because showing that Cheaterville actually helped create the content may not be easy. But if the information is false, why would it be tough?
There's a specific law in place that protects sites from user-generated content. The point is, you [can't?] get sued and held responsible every time a commenter says something. If the couple can show that Cheaterville was actually involved in the creation of the content, that could make it a stronger case.
*********************
The last paragraph was the most interesting to me, because BV was claiming it was gathering information so it could file a lawsuit against people who posted on a certain blog. I guess they also wanted to sue the blog's owner. However, they now are citing a law that says a website cannot be held liable for user-posted content. The owner of Cheaterville and Bullyville wants to have it both ways. Wants to threaten others with lawsuits but yet not take responsibility for what others post on his own websites.
It is ironic that the only lawsuit that we've seen is this one, that might also be amended to include McGibney as a named defendant. There is no secret lawsuit being filed by McGibney, BV, or Kate, against unnamed "haters" who posted on RWA or elsewhere. If a lawsuit had been filed, we would have proof by now. McGibney is the bully here, as is Kate. They are all about intimidation and pushing people around, but if you stand up to them, they skulk away. Bullies are always cowards at heart.
Oh someone else commented on the clean the plate/don't clean the plate/whatever sells this week thing. I am sorry I didn't see it before.
And do I see pics of those yucky boys with their bare feet on the counter!?! Is that the same counter she had strapped down with garbage bags for fear a child might get a grain of sugar on it?
Boxed mac and cheese, add canned tuna and peas?
*******
forgive me, as I slowly make way up from the bottom (most recent) of the comments. This caught my eye. Is this an actual recipe included in Kate's latest mockery of a book? If so, that's pathetic!
Even a busy mom could make homemade mac n cheese. I do that every once in awhile. In my case, I do add some frozen (thawed) mixed vegetables. And it's served with meat loaf. Total comfort food dinner. But boxed mac n cheese? As a recipe in a cookbook you expect others to pay good money for? She's nuts.
You know this is just a general comment but when did cheating become the norm? In sports, on best seller lists, everywhere. This is nothing to be proud of. Don't people want to stand on that podium or be on the list and know that they got there all on their own through their own hard work, talent and dedication? I just don't understand how and why we've become this culture of cheaters and I hope this is not how most people live. I guess the simple answer is money and the desire to win no matter what the costs but in the end do these people really feel satisfied?
Pretty sure she didn't have a ghost writer with lines like, "When breakfast is fed, I turn my thoughts to dinner."
Millicent agree. When I saw him I noticed he is a meek, rather thin guy, kind of nerdy looking. And honestly not that intimidating. If I didn't know who he was I'd accept an invitation to coffee. I don't know what happened in his past but he's trying to avenge something. The irony is for all his strutting about going after everyone the only one in trouble and getting bad press is him. The only who really found he needed to lawyer up was him. Good for this couple. They were terribly wronged by this and should seek justice. This was not okay.
OMG yes I thought I was the only one that noticed her giant hands.

I can't comment on her hands as sadly, too, have man hands.

I don't understand the paper plate thing either. You have to continually buy paper plates and it also adds to your garbage and the landfills. What's so hard about using regular plate and loading your dadgum dishwasher?
Marie
Another article about the lawsuit.
http://www.opposingviews.com/i/technology/california-couple-going-court-over-defamatory-post-cheaterville-website#
This is an excerpt:
"The couple asked Cheaterville to remove the post immediately, The Inquisitr reported.
"They replied and said we could make a comment if it's not true," Winona said. "That was irritating. I was upset. The fact they just wanted to toy with us." The Powers were told that they would have to pay $200 and go through a third party arbitration service to have the post removed. They went through that process and are now hoping to find out who was behind the post."
So anyone can just go there and post whatever they like about you, but YOU have to pay $200 to have it removed. Nice money-making scheme they've got there.
If there is a lawsuit against CV, how long before someone decides to file against BV for defamation there? made national news too. Interesting.
I put together a tuna casserole this morning in under 30 minutes. Planning to reheat for dinner tonight and then have lots of leftovers.
From scratch.
No boxed mac and cheese.
"Pretty sure she didn't have a ghost writer with lines like, "When breakfast is fed, I turn my thoughts to dinner."
Haha--the funnier part was where she said once dinner is in the crockpot, she can move on to thinking about lunch!
I think there's legal issues with asking someone to pay 200 bucks to remove a defamatory comment. It almost sounds like a ransom or blackmail. Technically you could go around posting a dozen over the top nasty comments about someone then when they contact you charge 200 bucks a pop to remove? Crazy.
Good judgement there, Kate. Great partnership.
"Anyone notice Kate's man-sized hands in the staged cooking with a wok picture with Leah? They are HUGE!"
I didn't notice that (and as much as I dislike her, I would never criticize her for a physical attribute she has no control over), but I *did* notice that she has one hand on the edge of the wok while Alexis (or whichever kid it was) is stirring. If they were really cooking, the wok would be hot, and no one in their right mind would be leaning on it like that. Phony--just like everything else about her life.

Thanks to social media and reality tv, the bar has been woefully lowered.
Kate's most successful book was actually written by Beth, but Kate sucks up all the accolades and credit without blinking.
Her second book was a photo album that a grade school kid could make and IJWYTK didn't do all that well.
Yet, she's a NYT best seller. Go figure.
Is that sausage and bean recipe missing some text? She says to saute onions and garlic for 1-2 minutes, add salt and pepper, then saute five minutes more before reducing the heat and cooking an additional 15 minutes to caramelize. Why she just doesn't say to season and saute for seven minutes before lowering the heat is a mystery to me, but I'll play along that 1-2 minutes of unseasoned saute time is critical to the recipe's success. After these convoluted caramalizing instructions, she instructs the reader to combine the remaining ingredients, put them in a pan, cover with cheese and bake. No where does she say to add the caramalized onions and garlic back into the dish. Did I miss something or are those onions and garlic her ideas of a side dish...you know, veges.
"I agree, I feel the preview of TFW's cookbook on Amazon feels as if they showed too much, and will kill whatever chance she had to add to her dismal sales numbers."
Actually, I think this might have been a good tactic because the book looks a lot better than I expected. The food pictures aren't disgusting (clearly she had someone else cook and plate and photograph the food), the content is more robust than I would have assumed, and the layout looks professional.
Yes, Millicent, to make tuna casserole, you simply make 2 boxes of mac and cheese, add frozen peas and canned tuna. Kate was right, you really don't need a recipe if you're a cook!
What is the boy with sauce on his face supposed to be eating that would cause a mess like that, a side of beef? That picture is humiliating, portraying an image of a messy eater, something one may expect from a two year old. A couple of the pictures showed messes of flour on the counter near the kids...I didn't like that either.
I think overall, the photos are really second rate, the staging notwithstanding.
So, if you have to hire a baby-sitter because you want to go shopping without your kids then youll end up paying a nice amount xtra for your groceries, there go all the savings from those coupons.
And I have the feeling that her "cook"book is more for the Kate&8 crazies then for the people that really want to cook a healthy meal for their kids. With the price of that book dropping like it is Im glad Im not a familymember of Milo....I see her giving everybody one for Xmas :-)
Millicent, thanks for the except from the transcript. McGiblets sure has a nasty business plan. But anything for a buck, I suppose he figures.
Molly 12, I am going to be recording big brother After Dark the next few nights! It should be entertaining. Isn't it funny that when someone who has been acting like a bully feels threatened, that they dissolve in a pile of tears?
Thursday Night Surprise Menu
If there were ever words to make a child ask for a dinner date with Dad, those would be them. And given that they do see their father, plus her trips to Chipotle, how often does this woman even cook?
Leftovers? We have seen her pre-serving photos. How can there be leftovers?

I don't like how they smeared Joels' face with tomato sauce in one photo. That's insulting to a nine year old who supposedly likes to 'look good.
--------------------------
I didn't like that picture either, but I guess that TFW's cutesy way of showing him eating her dish called "Very Sloppy Joels", which is her version of Sloppy Joes.
I do think it's insulting to him as well.
Within the 'preview' of this cookbook, I see so many narcissistic comments and lies.
TFW must have been out of the kitchen when the photographer let the boys sit/lie on the counters (and feet on the counters as well). Gasp! No OCD person would ever allow anyone be on their counters - even if their shoes were off.
Her stringing pasta into necklaces is such a novel idea. I don't think any Sunday School teacher, pre-school teacher, craft person, mom would have ever thought of that. TFW is such a "jack-of-all-trades"!
Then she gives her recipe for edible play dough for the kids and writes, 'clean up is a snap because it doubles as a snack'. What does she do, let the kids play for a little while, then scream "play time is over, now eat!"? Yuck, eating 'used' playdough. Another OCD claim debunked.
For all of you moms - how did we ever raise our kids without the genius of TFW? I sure wish this book was around when my three kids were little.
Ingrid:
Thanks for the link. I read a sample of comments and they were all negative. Will this affect amazon's promotion of the book?
I also agree that the 'look inside' feature virtually satisfies any curiosity about the book abd probably decreases sales.
changing subject: went to amazon to check price of Kate's cookbook. It's down to $13.77 and one can preview inside of cookbook.
She let the kids play with shaving cream? It's an irritant if it gets in the eyes. My sister's daughter got into a can of it, and let loose with it...it got into her eyes and mouth. Her eyes burned, turned red, her vision was blurred and she ended up in the ER.
I had to laugh when I read the creamy chicken recipe...said the sauce was soft and creamy. That's good to know. Nothing worse than "hard" sauce!
So let me get this straight. Cheaterville is a site where you can post a lie that someone cheated, post their name, etc., and there is no way to determine if what's being said is a lie. If you're angry with someone you can just go over to Cheaterville and say that person is gay and soliciting for gay lovers or is cheating on their spouse, whatever nasty thing you want?
Yeah, eating the "play dough" after smushing it around for a while is gross. Sure, if the kids eat it, which kids do, then it won't harm them.
I doesn't qualify as food for me.
Why would she include that particular photo of the kids dressed in snow clothes sitting on the snow mound? They all look so glum. Is that the best picture she has to include in her book? Poor kids.
The REAL question is: what recipe will Silimom test next?? :)
Haha: random tweet:

I'd think shaving cream has a lot of alcohol in it. Certainly fragrance.
It's an unbelievably stupid idea.
I love what Kate says about preparing for travel. She brought zero for the kids on a deep sea fishing trip! Her planning meals while traveling involved unbelievably diva-level demanding hotel service. Kobe beef anyone? Whole wheat bread with no grains showing?
So full of it.

It's been that price for some time, and if you read upthread, the discussions today have been on what's inside the cookbook. It's just surprising to me that so much of it was published for online viewing.
From all that I read, edible play dough is not usually considered a "snack" but more something that is not toxic if ingested. Some recipes have a lot of salt, and those that do not, well after several sets of fingers have played, I would not serve it up as a snack. Guess I would have to see her 'recipe' but again, this sounds gross.
I'd like to edit my earlier comment about the photos looking second rate. As I scrolled down further I noticed in the acknowledgments that one daughter took the photographs and another served as a proofreader. It was not my intention to disrespect their contributions. Seriously, she should have submitted this project for the school PTA fundraiser.

Didn't realize Kate gosselin had such a rabid twitter fan base. Not particularly surprised they don't get simple jokes tho.

lol, Amanda! I was just going to say the same thing. Wait until your spouse comes home? What if there is no spouse...then you hire a sitter! What if your budget is extremely limited, and there's really no money for a sitter if your're really watching your pennies at the grocery store? She just doesn't think...doesn't live in the real world. Kind of like having three cars and picking the one to use depending on travel distance and best gas mileage!
One of the first pictures shows the kids at the counter with lemon wedges and flour scattered on the countertop! LOL! She famously put garbage bags all over the countertops and told the kids that if they got so much as one granule of sugar on it, they were DONE, and she made good on that promise - on camera! Staging that shot must have really bugged her.
*********************************************
Yes! Those kids were probably waiting patiently on the sidelines until it was time for the picture to be taken. They had nothing to do with the staging. Always were props, always will be props.
Walkthetalk #37, Finally, someone besides me loving knee-high socks!! I live in Saskatchewan, and have been wearing them for over 20 years now, they seem to be very hard to find. My kids always search high and low to find them for my Xmas gifts, and last winter I found them on-line at Sears Canada. I got some that are very long, over the knee socks, and are a nice length to fold over. Hope you find some!
I had a feeling of Déjà vu when I read her coupon savings tips. I recall she wrote the same thing on couponcabin.com.
*******
Common sense stuff. Nothing new.
The biggest miss with her savings is not taking advantage of big box stores. She doesn't even mention it!
As a mom, this would totally creep me out:

@Kateplusmy8 If I met Alexis Id be the happiest girl in the world. She is ABSOLUTLY ADORABLE!
Maggie Berfield @MaggieBerfield 3h
@Kateplusmy8 Her pic from People magazine is my Desktop on my laptop
Was it really necessary for her to mention how there's nothing worse than colorful food revisiting the carpet (especially lasagna or chili she continues) under the section entitled 'Sick Kid Diet'? It seems so inappropriate for a cookbook...particularly when chili was one of the recipes included.
"In addition to cold foods, I pack healthy crunchy foods such as granola bars, pretzels, nuts, and always gum. My kids are always happy when they are chewing gum - and so is their mom!"
Wha what... say again??
Thankfully her sheep have a short-term memory span...Gumgate is long forgotten. If asked, they will probably say it never happened at all.
(Hi ladies. Missing the whole bunch of you. Just dropped in to see what condition Kate's condition is in ... and I see it's rapidly deteriorating. Totally enjoying all your comments. Oh what a bevy of great snarkies here! lol! )
