The show that unseated 'Jon and Kate Plus 8'

A&E's season premiere of Duck Dynasty last week garnered 11.8 million viewers. The big ratings beat out the previous record holder for reality T.V., Jon and Kate Plus 8, whose episode announcing the couple's split that aired in June 2009 hit 10.8 viewers. That goose is cooked. The successful show about a family who makes duck callers and other equipment for duck hunters has also earned its stars a raise, at more than $200,000 an episode for the family according to most reports.

A&E tonight will repeat the Duck episode that now reigns supreme, as well as a new episode. Check local listings. The episode can also be seen online for free on A&E's web site.

I see others have noticed what I did in the cookbook excerpts. Printed text says one thing, pictures say another, plus what she has twitted and blogged previously. Here's some that were glaring to me.

The juice box reference about buying only when on sale dirt cheap, using refillable juice containers or diluted juice in a reusable water bottle. Yet a bottle of juicy juice in one lunch and 2 drink boxes in the other, both are sugar filled and expensive purchases, even on sale, when packing lunch daily for 8.

Buying a large bag of 'crunchies' chips, snacks, etc. and splitting for cost savings, yet in one picture picture is a prepackaged bag of chips, granola bars and a snack box of something, not sure what. She's a baker, or so she proclaims, make your own granola & bars, that way no preservatives and you can control what ingredients are in them.

Seeing lots of baggies, zip lock bags, saran wrap, very few re-usable containers which would assist in cost savings. You have two dishwashers, use them.

I'm sorry, but Cara's Sausage & Bean Bake sounds disgusting. The picture is also immediately off-putting with the grease pooling on top. I'd love to know the nutritional values on that and many of her other recipes. A lot of those recipes do not lend themselves to the organic, healthy eating and lifestyle she tries to portray and project! Like junk food or fast food, these high fat, carb and salt dishes are okay once in while, comfort food and all that, but not on a normal basis.

The movie 'night' picture with the sunlight streaming thru the windows, everyone in pjs and everyone lined up on the tape on the floor. How comfy would that be for movie night? We always were draped over the sofa or lying on the floor with pillows and blankets. We had large floor pillows that were sooooo comfy. My sister first made one in home ec class and then my mother made a few more.

Could it be that TFW controls the dinner conversation because the kids are discussing their reality? Their lives are no longer about the "love" for the crew, the filming, the trips, the perks, it's about school and friends, and whatever other everyday thing might interest them. Listening to them describe ordinary experiences must be a punishing reminder to Kate of just how fleeting fame is. Personally, I think she wants them talking about the "good old days" when they were all the darlings of the viewing public. I don't think she wants to hear them embrace normality, she wants them supporting her "lightning striking twice" theory. If they were brainstorming ways to get back on television, I bet she would allow them freedom of speech at the dinner table!

Every day is another day further away from what was, the kids know this, but TFW doesn't want to hear it described in 8 very different ways over dinner.

Yikes, someone at HCI actually edited Kate's book? With all those run-on sentences, missed and misplaced commas, verb tense issues, and awkward sentence structures? I saw four conjunctions, four commas, and a set of em dashes in ONE sentence. ("You might have a run-on sentence if...")

8888888888888888

Not to mention subject-verb agreement. She has no idea that a singular subject (such as "each"), even if it is followed by a prepositional phrase that contains a plural noun, takes a singular verb.

Why wasn't this proofed?

There are many boxed Mac & Cheese dinners that use white cheddar cheese. Annie's brand is one that I use. Not all Mac & Cheese is necessarily orange.

Oh wait, there is a picture of the mac n cheese, tuna and peas. Looks about as good as you'd expect. The mac and cheese may be using white powdered cheese vs. orange, but again, there's not agreement with the recipe.
The photo obviously has cracked pepper and shredded cheese added and melting on top, and her recipe doesn't call for it. Plus, some chunks of tuna on top are showing signs of drying out from sitting around for so long during the photo shoot.

Wouldn't it be cheaper (and easier) to buy Tuna Helper for 1.29 a box at Walmart, two large cans of tuna on sale for $1.39 a can, and some frozen peas? Whole meal would cost about $6.50 and wouldn't be swimming in grease.

Kate's all about the short game-- not a follow through, get your hands dirty kind of gal.
Her job is to mastermind masterpieces.

&&&

Oddly, her personality is sort of like a creative, flighty spirit. Some of the greatest ideas come from these types of people. Some of the worst too.

She's the type of person who stares up at the sky and then a scathingly brilliant idea comes to mind Hailey Mills like, and by the end of the day, she's set it up and gotten it going. There is no sort of deep breath, relax and really think an idea through before jumping right in there. In many ways, they aren't afraid or embarrassed to fail nor are they afraid of a bad idea. They just go with what's flowing. I think most of the time this leads to disaster, but a few good ones get through.

The problem is for more grounded people who aren't comfortable living this way, there is going to be a lot of incompatibility there. Think about being in a relationship with someone like this and how exhausting it would be if you aren't the same way. And for people who would really just prefer to have a steady paycheck they can count on, this personality won't work.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

By the way does TFW specify whether her concoction of Kraft macaroni is to be served hot or cold?

"Typically" tuna pastas are cold aren't they? There are a couple tuna salad pasta recipes served iced cold that I LOVE in the summer, but it's been years. Church potluck stuff, I recall celery, tuna and elbow macaroni. Probably mayo. Serve that next to a hotdog or hamburger and there's my childhood right there.

Reminds me of a couple we know. Husband was a friend and cohort in business school, and is a real entrepreneur and start up guy. Doesn't want to be poking his head out of his gopher hole all day.
After he and his wife had a kid, she thought he's tow a company line. After their second child, she kinda thought about being a SAHM for a while and take a break from teaching. Oh, if only her husband would put his dreams on the back burner for a few years and settle for a steady paycheck....
Yeah, they seemed to have a bit of tension between them!

When I made the Stir Fry, we were guzzling water quite a bit! Here in this neck of the woods, we do tend to use an abundance of salt and we're used to it, but I couldn't get over how salty this was. That aside, it wasn't bad. Of course. that's like saying, "Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?"

There's cold tuna pasta salad and then there's tuna casserole. I think Kate's "recipe" is the latter.
The thing is, by the time you make (much cheaper) elbow macaroni (get water to boiling, cook pasta, drain), you can throw together the sauce.
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
Maybe TFW cleans her drawers while her kit's pasta cooks.

Is the recipe for Mac & cheese posted in the preview, because I don't see it.

On TFW's website, she has the recipe for "Kate's Sausage and Bean Casserole". She changed the name to "Cara's" for the book. In the website recipe she says to use one can of undrained black beans, but in the book it says drained. Maybe a tester did try out the recipe and decided that drained was better, or it's a typo. The picture in the book is much better than the one TFW put on her website-which you can see here:

Good catch about the meat slicer and yogurt maker. No mention of them. In fact, she talks about buying the large container of yogurt rather than the smaller cups, then dividing it up to save money. Why buy it at all when you have your own yogurt maker? She even claimed that she had a French outlet put in at her home just for this yogurt maker.
For the main course lunch options, she lists chips and salsa. Ms. healthy/organic gives her kids chips and salsa as the main course in their lunches?
Regarding leftovers, did anyone here watch Malcolm in the Middle when it was on? The mother layered leftovers in a tall casserole dish and called it "leftover parfait". Malcolm counted the number of layers, and realized that the leftovers from last week's leftover parfait were the bottom layer of this week's leftover parfait. Gross and funny at the same time.

In that Life Coach article it states: "Now she’s making a living doing what she loves and what she’s good at." That is pure 100% bullshit. Kate is no where near making a living with her blog (what blog) and products (what products). Kate is probably living off of her multi-millions from years past. No way did she make a living off of her Coupon Cabin blog and The Stir blog that recently closed. And her website is a joke so she can't be making any money off of that. All those monies she made from blogging was just spending money in her pocket. What products has Kate made? And we know that her cookbook isn't producing any monies for her to make a living with. Again, she is a fraud and a liar.

The only money she made in the past 2 years was from Wife Swap. And that was because she once again filmed her kids and put them in a awkard and scary position. To tell them a strange film crew would be showing up with a complete stranger was cruel. And remember that she lied all throughout Wife Swap. The lie was that she has no time for herself and needed to spend sometime away from her kids. What a joke. She has spent an enormous amount of time away from her kids in the past 2 years.

I was one of 5 kids. We had so much fun at the dinner table. Yes, sometimes we would go around the table and say something about our day or something we learned at school, but basically we just talked, sometimes all at once. We passed around the dishes (family style) and the big joke was when the food someone asked for almost got to them someone else would ask for it and we would reverse course. We also played games like Whisper Down the Lane. On April Fools Day mom served dinner backwards with dessert first and the plates were upside down. One April Fools Day my brother and I told everyone the dog had gotten out and we sat at the table and laughed while everyone was out searching. Oh, and my youngest brother one time told my mom "this was the best dinner I ever have" and it became a running joke that he would say that after EVERY dinner. Oh and we had leftovers and I hated them and to this day do not eat them/

We still do that here. I don't think I've ever "plated" food at an evening meal. Supper is always family style, passed around. If it's something new, kids will take a small serving and try it. No sense wasting anything by taking a large portion and then throwing it away. If they want seconds, they take seconds. No food control, and nobody is overweight or underweight. They seem to know how much they need to be satisfied without gorging or stuffing! I love the chattering all at one time while passing the bowls/platters!

None of the females in that family has ever had issues with food. The males don't either, it's just not as common in males.

In contrast, my close friend, who was always told by her mother she would need to lose a few pounds if she wanted to be an actress (she has done a few commercials and bit parts but mostly writes now), was anorexic in high school and well into college.

Yes I have read what they do to food to make it look better, even painting it, although I don't think this food had much done to it. It looks normal enough. You can do a lot more in photoshop these days so that it becomes less necessary to doctor the food. For example, a blah looking porkchop you can boost the saturation and make it appetizing again. Too bad there's no photoshop in the kitchen as you cook!

By the way, do physicians recommend giving kids any amount of juice these days, especially after the toddler stage. Most say low fat milk or water.

I think they still do, but I read that the ONLY reason they do so is because it has marginal fruit in it so they figure SOME fruit is better than no fruit. They are afraid if they don't recommend it, low income families won't be able to provide their children enough fruit. They have been fighting dentists on this for years, who say all this does is send kids in for cavities earlier. In general they seem to agree juices like this are full of sugar which is bad, it's just they can't agree whether to continue recommending them for their fruit value.

I once did a blog post on Juicy Juice, their poor nutritional value and questionable labeling practices.

I agree. When she started trotting around in those heels, short shorts and girls hanging out in the rockin bikini, I had to think about the pastor from the Roswell, Georgia church, and what he would have said about it. And now, considering her friendship with a person she calls her hero, I just shake my head and wonder what the pastor would think about that...and what her friends say about it. The fans think he's all that and a bowl of ice cream, too, but what about the people in her life who have moral values and strong religious beliefs, and are disgusted with that kind of talk and sexual innuendo? I'm pretty sure Amazon's recommendations are based on a computer. For instance if a lot of people looking or buying TFW's book also look at or buy PW's book, or the Duggars, or what have you, it will recommend each other. I don't think there's a person sitting behind a computer deciding this, I think it's just a program that does it all based on stats it collects. If we all also happened to buy books on golf that would show up too even if that's not really connected. Like many sites, Amazon is tracking each and every thing we look at even if we never buy.

I have always said PW and TFW are sort of on the same spectrum and probably have similar fan demographics. They're in the same niche area (rural family, kids, Christian, cooking for families, home, fish out of water). That seems to confirm my suspicions.

Perhaps, it was only the kids' pictures that were shot that day, and the food pictures were shot at a different time.

Sleepless, I've heard that too, so I just now googled it. It's the Laughing Buddha's belly you're supposed to rub for good luck.

I also didn't realize there were so many buddhas - twenty-eight of them.

I remember back in the 60's their was a restaurant in Cleve,OH burbs that was named "Happy Charlie's", which their symbol was a Laughing Buddha.
People from the town were outraged because the buddha's belly button was in clear sight and thought that was vulgar! They forced the restaurant to cover it with a toga drape until it a permanent cover could be done.
Now in Seattle we have coffee baristas with girls wearing only pasties and another coffee house that asked a woman to leave because she was nursing her baby. Times they have really changed!

I'm pretty sure Amazon's recommendations are based on a computer. For instance if a lot of people looking or buying TFW's book also look at or buy PW's book, or the Duggars, or what have you, it will recommend each other.
***
Yes, it's logic-driven upselling. Amazon will use your buying patterns and history as well as others' to predict what you might need or want to buy/look at with an item you select.
That said, Kate's book will probably get a push from The Pioneer Woman's new book simply because Amazon is linking them *to Kate*, planting the seed, if you will.
When I select TPW's books, she is basically connected/linked to her own books, not Kate's.

You guys are mistaken if you think Kate prepared and cooked the food for the cookbook. A Food Stylist goes to culinary school. Here is an excerpt from an article from a professional food stylist:

A project can start days, sometimes weeks, before the actual shoot day(s). Depending on the type of job, there are conference calls, meetings, art direction, hiring of assistants, shopping, and planning shot lists and sometimes travel. As each photo shoot is very complex it usually takes a lot of people to make it a success.

I work mainly in photo studios that have kitchens available to use. I usually work with an assistant who helps me shop for and prepare the food. It is the assistant’s job to help the stylist follow the recipes perfectly, ensuring that all of the ingredients are used, that the food is ready for set when it is needed, and to make sure that the stylist has everything that she/he might need. In turn, assisting is the only way that one can learn the trade....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the way food photography is prepared. Google it. I knew the food in the cookbook looked way better than anything she ever posted on Twitter or on her blog. My question is what did these people think of her slop? They get an A+ in making it LOOK appetizing.
Good gawd. She's still "at it." I guess The View never responded, and that petition she was starting didn't get off the ground. If Kate is her buddy, then why would she need to hear an update on her family? She should receive those regularly, shouldn't she...or you would think that with People flying off the shelves, everyone would have been "updated" on the family by now.
I do feel kind of sorry for these people, though...the ones who tweet celebrities like they are old friends, and expect them to respond. I imagine that this makes them feel very important if they think that bonding is occurring between the celebrities and themselves.
I have a friend who works in retail and he said they have to tear all the covers off of magazines,puzzle books, paperback books, etc. They send the covers to the publisher for reimbursement.
That is why books (not magazines)have a warning "If you bought this book without a cover be aware it may be stolen". The retailer is supposed to recycle the books and magazines, and that warning is put in books to deter employees from taking the books and reselling at garage sales or flea markets.
OT: I had some overripe bananas on hand yesterday and made two loaves of banana bread from then. Used recipe that I have from old edition of Good Housekeeping Cookbook, that was my mothers, publication date is in the 1960s. The recipe called for shortening, good old Crisco,.which my mother bought in the huge containers. Bad for the arteries but it made great fried chicken! Anyway, I substitute real unsalted butter for the shortening, no Trans fat! I got rave reviews from family and neighbors, but no squeals of delight. What am I doing wrong?
Today I have no banana bread left for us, neighbor got a loaf and dd took half loaf left over back to college with her. So I want to bake another but used all the flour yesterday. I do have a box of Bisquick and googled banana bread recipe and bisquick. And found a 1953 vintage recipe! Found it on about.com southern food section.
I have some of those recipe booklets from the sixties and seventies and a couple of books from the fifties and sixties that came from my grandmothers house and my mothers bookcase, along with old church recipe collection books. They are fun to look at sometimes, and also to try once in a while.
We owned a retail country store in Ontario years ago and sold magazines. The distributor would count our returns before stocking the new magazines each week. Our invoice would reflect the unsold magazines as a credit each month. They took the returns and destroyed them (before recycling was done routinely). We did our own count first, then signed off on the distributors numbers in order to receive the proper credits. They stocked our store based on what magazines were most popular with our customers. Back then, TIME, Newsweek, McLean's (a Canadian newsmagazine) were the big sellers. Celebrity culture wasn't as blown up as it is today, and it was the National Enquirer that people picked up to get their fill of Hollywood stories.
If you look at the first page(under the picture of the book) it has a disclaimer. Basically, it's a warning for people with food allergies, but this line made me laugh.
"All recipes are used at the risk of the consumer"
It also states that if you have allergies or health problems to contact your medical professional before the use of any recipe and that neither the publisher nor the author is responsible for any hazard, loss, damage, that may occur as a result of any recipe preparation or use.
========
I've just been looking through "What Would Brian Boitano Make" and didn't find any disclaimers like this at all. His disclaimers are more along the lines of if you want to reduce calories use almond milk instead of heavy cream and skip the whipped cream. I would hope that those with nut or shellfish allergies (for example) would know not to cook a recipe using nuts or shrimp and would not have consult a health professional although I'm sure they'll be happy to take the co-pay.
Re food stylists, in his acknowledgements BB says "Malina Lopez-food stylist goddess. You never failed to deliver sumptuous food and setups..." I guess that answers the question as to why many of the pictures look better than those tweeted by TFW.
The dumpster diving is too funny!
(once again, today, we were at Lowe's and I rescued a "death row" perenial-- a Black and Blue Salvia. It's planted, been loved on, been watered and fingers crossed for next year!)
Speaking of vintage recipes! I have Chicken Marbella in the slow cooker. I've adapted it to the slow cooker from the oven. Instead of prunes, I use medjool dates and dried Turkish apricots (that I get at Reading Terminal Market, while hissing at Kate's photo displayed at the pretzel place).
It only uses one pan to build, from browning the chicken, to making the sauce.
Take THAT for a twist, (of) Kate.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Wow Mr. Randazza, thank you. This is pretty much what we've been saying all along (without the colorful language) Being called out on your own lies and bad behavior is not being bullied. TFW willingly made herself a public figure. She instigated the backlash against her by trying very hard to paint a picture of complete and unattainable perfection. She is the one who insists that 34 DD breasts just appeared one day with the help of a good bra, She claimed to do all the cooking, cleaning and laundry by herself, sometimes copping to having a "little" help It was all lies. It's unfair and misleading to try to make people who may only have a few kids feel like there is something wrong with them. She may be angry that she didn't get away with it, but the backlash she received was not bullying.
The thing that has bothered me the most about her alliance with BV is his motto of being a bully to take on a bully. That is not how our justice system works. When two of TFW's children were bullying other students at school, it looks like the school followed a step by step process over many weeks. Instead of using the process, what if the school had just let the students who were hit by the G kids hit them back? TFW would have been outraged and rightly so. If we were an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth society, there would be lawlessness and total chaos. She should be ashamed of being associated with the likes of BV, epecially since she wouldn't want anyone to apply his message of revenge to her own children.
An acquaintance of mine owns a newsstand, so when I picked up my Sunday paper today, I asked him how many copies of TFMJG's People cover mag he sold. Now, for clarification, this is not a small newsstand with a few out of town papers and the standard mags. The entire length of his store is double-racked with magazines, on both sides, is filled with magazines. He carries many obscure, specialized mags. Basically, if there's a magazine covering a subject, he carries it. The point is, he gets a lot of traffic and sells a lot of magazines. He sold 2 (TWO) copies of the TFMJG People. By contrast, he's twice restocked his shelf with the cover of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and baby George.
I skimmed through the preview of the crookbook on Amazon. Most of the recipes sound mediocre, at best, and a few are downright unappetizing. There was one I might give a try, if my math skills are up to cutting the portion size down to something reasonable for one person. I like leftovers, and I also freeze meals, but not that much!
---------
I think what happened here is a good example of confusing facts with conclusions drawn from partial information. Taking the OP at face value gives us the fact that there were more unsold magazines than normal at that particular store. Beyond that, there are too many variables missing to leap to the conclusion that the store took an overall loss on the issue, even if there are unsold magazines--we would need quantity, price paid, price sold info to draw that conclusion).. By making that assertion, sheeple then disregard the entire post, including the one and only fact that was known. It doesn't work that way--making a mistaken assumption doesn't change what is true. Anyone can believe or disbelieve the truth of the fact, but the erroneous conclusion do not, in and of themselves, negate the facts.
So, if the OP's statement that there were more than usual unsold issues, it means that there just isn't public interest in her.
Then it looks like there is a spin-off, with very few participants. So, TFW's number 1 fan seems to have moved on, and morphed into a career for herself. Compared to TFW's website, it is about 88X better. Good for her--she was thoroughly snubbed by TFW.
_______________
IW isn't Baby Mama's site. IW is run by a group of women. I can't remember the name of BM's site. I don't visit either. Since it's now the fans habit of giving IPs to BV, I don't visit them anymore.
IIRC, it had to do with Kate's 'show your love for K+8' poster contest (the winner got to send their copy of IJWYTK postage paid with a postage paid return envelope and the prize was Kate signing it... I kid, I kid;) BM said she would announce the contest on her website. Kate smacked her down saying something to the effect that she only permitted official K8 information to come from herself or the official K8 + my 8 website. Snap. Way to treat a devoted fan, Kate.
Summer Days And Nights said...
I don't understand any of this class action thing. I don't know who is suing whom; who is representing whom; which side of the fence BV's attorney is on. What a convoluted mess.
On April 3, ROL announced that "Kate Gosselin will join a class-action lawsuit against many people who have attacked and threatened her online a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com exclusively."
On April 8, ROL announced (exclusively, of course): "Jon & Kate Plus Hate: 80 People Joining Kate Gosselin Anti-Bullying Lawsuit." That sounded like a definite "go." However, in the article, it stated, "Barely more than one week since the planned lawsuit was announced, more than 80 people have expressed strong interest in joining, Radar has learned."
Having expressed a strong interest is not joining a lawsuit as the header implies.
So which is it? They're interested in joining...or they have joined and this is in the works? Is Kate paying her own attorney, or is this BV attorney also representing her?
What the sheeple fail to mention when they claim we make up stories to make Kate look bad is that so many of us asked so many clarifying (respectful) questions about that Costco story that it made the original poster upset.
================
The first two posters who questioned that were trolls making posts under two different names--in my opinion anyway.
The posts were a minute apart and yet the second poster was responding to the first one. They were both off-hours. The type of response would have required #2 to read #1's post the second it was posted, think about their Costco, type a response, submit it, and then for Admin to approve it instantaneously.
I think this is just one (lonely, disturbed?) person who pops in during the night and creates random or obnoxious names, trying to play an outraged non-fan who always thinks we've "gone too far this time."
I'd vote for not posting her comments. They're usually obnoxious and often trying to offend someone here by responding with a nasty tone.
Yes, they typically offer à la carte services you can choose from. The editing you'd get would be just what we saw in Kate's book--pretty bad. And the the marketing package would have questionable value and be overpriced. More dollars sucked into Kate's hopeless cause. The hole for this book is a great gaping maw.
Another excellent sweet bread recipe...not aTFW bread machine recipe....
Almond poppyseed bread
3 eggs
2 and 1/2 c. Sugar
1 and 1/2 c. Milk
1 and 1/4 c. Canola oil
3 c. Flour
3 Tbsp. poppy seeds
1 and 1/2 tsp. salt
1 and 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 and 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 and 1/2 tsp. pure almond extract
Cream egg and sugar. Blend in oil, milk and spices. Add flour and mix. Pour into greased and floured pans (I like using Pam BAKING spray). Bake 325 degrees for 1 hour to 1 hr and 10 min. Or until knife comes out clean. Loosen bread from pans by running a rubber scraper along sides and then pour glaze over the top. Glaze will be absorbed down along the sides of the loaves and on top. Let it sit for a little bit and then take out of pans and let sit til cool. (note: the batter is thin...don't panic...lol)
GLAZE:
3/4 c. Sugar
1/4 c. Orange juice
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. pure almond extract
2 Tbsp. butter
Combine into a small saucepan and heat over med low heat until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved. Pour over loaves, making sure that the entire top of loaf is covered with glaze.
That's what I don't understand. Most people seem to agree Retailmenot and similar sites have this market covered. They do it well, most of the time.
Unless you've come up with some kind of innovative idea how you're going to do the online coupon thing better, which she hasn't whatsoever, why even bother? It gets embarrassing at a certain point. It's not unlike her cookbook, like coming up with a vomiting diet that is different than the tried and true BRAT diet recommended by physicians, and so on. When you think about it, though, it's the fans who will be purchasing this book. Would they know (or really care) that it hasn't been professionally edited? They would be too busy ogling Kate and crying their eyes out when they see how much the kids have grown. As long as they can follow instructions detailing cookie defrosting, it really wouldn't matter how horrible the grammar may be, or if the run-on sentences take on a life of their own. It really would have just been an added expense to have a competent person edit this book, or even pay a high school intern to do it. I think Kate realizes this.
It's sad that, when one considers the lack of editing, she set the bar so low. From what I read there was nothing professional about it, and that would have driven me crazy.
I like cakes that aren't too sweet and don't require frosting. My other all time favs to make it a Sunday Torte my mother used to make. It's a thick batter, topped w/ raspberry jam, beaten egg whites with vanilla and coconut. 3 layers joined together w/ sour cream. sweet and tangy. Now I'll need to make something tomorrow. I've got a bunch of eggs and was thinking of making a sponge cake or lemon chiffon, but I'm almost out of butter. Costco tomorrow :)
My son is home from a busy day of stocking shelves at Costco (and going out with coworkers after work). So, how did People magazine fare? He said the cashiers were talking about how only one person actually bought it, and she got 6 copies. What does anyone need 6 copies for? And the ones on the rack kept getting turned backward. I asked, "Did you turn them back forward like you were supposed to?" He answered, "No! Do you really think I wanted to see at that face every time I passed by? I just pretended I didn't notice".
That makes me #1, but #2 was admin, not a troll talking to herself. Yes I rarely post and often late at night after I've had time to read all the posts. And I always post as Zoe.
I'm sorry that my post started a discussion that caused Layla to feel put upon. When I read all that the next evening I considered writing an apology, but it seemed like admin had already explained things and by then all had been smoothed over. I have never seen a magazine rack, or magazines, at Costco. The next time I go, I'll look for them.
Virginia Pen Mom, you are right on part of your post, though. I am lonely and do have emotional problems. I have difficulty with relationships and once I say/write something it rolls around in my head seemingly forever. Did I say it right, did I say it wrong, did they understand what I meant, could I have worded it differently? When I read this blog I'm in awe of how well some of you get along and communicate and wish I could be that way. Most of the time when I post there is no response, and I had gotten rather comfortable in that role. More often I only think about what I would like to post and then don't. Sometimes I write a post, preview it multiple times, then just give up and skip it.
Sorry this was so long.
tweets like the one about folding laundry convince me Milo is nothing more than a joke on TFW. Somebody is having a great time with this and as a bonus is making TFW look like a total buffoon.
I'm so glad to know someone else feels the same way. I've thought for years that Milo was actually a very creative wolf ('hater'), disguised in sheeple clothing, having fun making TFW look like a fool. I LUV IT - especially since TFW and the sheeple seem to have no clue!
Grifting for Mady now, she mentions @ onedirection. Will she never stop?
