Cause according to Couric, she has no hired help, except 20 hours a week.(dumb statement) That would be 4 hours a day, so what it means is: Kate spends about 2 hours a day(1 hour in the morning and one hour at night) five days a week with her kids. Between 7am & 4pm kids are in school & on school bus, hired help is there from 4pm to 8pm, most of the kids go to bed by 8pm. Remember Kate never eats with her kids. Kate treats her kids like they are a chore and a very large germ. And Kate told People that purseboy is no longer in her employ, but he is with her now, on this book tour. I think the contract Kate is talking about is the K8, one, and I think they are paying her, till the contract runs out or paid her a lump sum to go away. It it not odd that Kate has not made any negative comments about TLC? Many other reality or real stars, have of networks or shows that let them go or fired them.

I'm on the fence about him/her. At one time I thought that the person was just an obsessed fan who has a family, but is a very insecure person who needs the attention of a celebrity and the tweeties to make her feel important. Now I'm not so sure. She's had so many chances to meet her idol, and every time comes up with an excuse...her health, how would Kate visualize her, Kate never comes to the South, it's too far a drive, hubby had an accident...whatever. I've always found that very odd, I think I said that a year ago. She's trashed everybody else, why is this not TLC's fault too? She's said a few very mild things about how they didn't tell her they were going to be cancelled, but other than that nothing. She must really feel like she can't do that.

I thought about it from that angle, too, and it makes sense, but with Milo's very abrasive and assertive personality, wouldn't you think that she wouldn't care? If she met her, she could really brag it up -- that she and Kate are such good friends, she spent so much time with her and got to really know her even better, the gushing would be more over-the-top than it already is. With all of Milo's positivity (geez, I hate her constant use of that word), I'm not sure she could really see that to meet Kate would be to risk anything. Her ego seems to be as big as Kate's. They are two peas in a pod as far as needing praise and attention. I just don't see her being hesitant about meeting her because her relationship with Kate would change. I don't think that she has any self-awareness. She complained about her family (or neighbors...whatever they were) who packed up in the middle of the night and left no forwarding address or phone number. Ally (169), Welcome to Baltimore! I'm a suburbanite, but I live pretty close. If you are interested in the Balt Book Festival, it is not at the Inner Harbor--it is a little farther North. It is at Charles Street and Mt Vernon Place. Depending on where you are, you could just walk North on Charles Street until you reach W Center Street, and it's on the left. If you're driving, the closest and cheapest parking garage is at 11 E Franklin Street. There's so much to see right close by, too. You can check out Edgar Allen Poe's gravesite at the corner of Greene St and Fayette St. If you have kids, the Walters Art Museum is wonderful, and it is right there on Charles Street. And a couple of our recent visitors wanted to go see the house where "Clark Rockefeller"--the Rockefeller impostor who kidnapped his daughter--lived and hid after the kidnapping until he was caught. That is a couple blocks away on Ploy Street, but I don't think it's much to look at. Have fun! TFW is supposed to be there at 4:30 tomorrow. I'll be there.

I agree that something is fishy here, but she has given info on her family. She's talked about LOM, his accident, he likes football and she tweeted a photo of him on his motorcycle, spoke about caring for her aunt who died, her daughter and her son's graduation, as well as her travels to pick up Katie Irene.

Angela in Catfish was amazing at keeping her stories straight. Nev really never saw anything off or had the slightest idea, the thing that suddenly tipped him off was he found a song they said they wrote elsewhere on youtube sung by someone else. From there he started fact checking everything she said and turning up more black holes but if you didn't fact check the story it would all still make sense.

Kathy Griffin is one of the few celebs who shares all the dirty nasty stories. Love her or hate her, I believe her stories are true. If not she would have a lot more lawsuits on her hands. The result of this gimmick of sharing celebrity dirt, is that she's been blacklisted from who knows how many shows and she's on the blacklist of who knows how many celebs. She's hated. Most of her friends are normal people--her family and staff and people she met who are not poser celebs. She says Tilly was seven weeks old when she was diagnosed with cancer (she doesn't say what kind) and that she is receiving chemo and doing well. Britney is very grateful for all the support and encouragement she has received. Britney says until her child s diagnosis, she never really knew what it felt like to be helpless and she had never really cried before this. Everyone with healthy children should thank whatever deity you believe in every day for those healthy kiss.

She's polarizing. If she pulled in viewers, yes, they would have invited her again. Rumor has it that TLC found her difficult to work with, but they were willing to give Twist of Kate a try, and set her up with Kate Plus Eight after J & K ended. They knew she was a diva (she even admitted it in the People interview), but kept her on their payroll because she brought in the viewers -- at first.
Just being nasty and difficult doesn't mean that a celebrity is never invited back, or doesn't find work. If that were true, there would be many of them out who find themselves unemployed.

The only one of my boys who knows I don't much like her is the one who works at Costco (but not working there much now--he's back in college for the school year). Two years ago, when the show was cancelled and TFW and the kids were on the cover of People, and he first dealt with magazines being tampered with, he mentioned it to me. I said something about how I wouldn't buy a magazine with her on it, and that was all that was said. We don't talk about her at home.
I did tell them that it may be crowded so they have to be my bodyguards so I don't get trampled. They're okay with that. That's one of the fun things about having sons. They're very protective of the woman in their lives. And they're easy to bribe with food. I mentioned gyros and ice cream, and they were ready to go.

If the celebrity makes the network, producer, etc. money, they get the job. Heck, the network will even put up with the celebrity's antics (e.g. Charlie Sheen) as long as the celebrity is generating the revenue. But when the ratings go down and advertisers aren't willing to spent their money, the celebrity is out.
In Kate's case, she, Jon and the kids rose so fast, in the reality world. It was like nothing anyone had seen before Everyone was flying high. The ratings kept climbing and climbing, and then the brand imploded. Jon wanted the kids to be off TV. J+K/8 was re-introduced as Kate+8. At that point the ratings went south. And with it so did the money. K+8 wasn't generating enough money to justify the expenses.
All through the J/K+8 and K+8 TLC put up with her diva behavior. Why? Because they were making money.
No money, no show. On to the next person...Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. And Kate becomes another diva without a show. And nobody remembers or cares about her.

From what I have seen from her current cook book tours it has been a total failure. TFW had no other signing tours for her southern fans and only one more scheduled for Canada. OT: Thanks for the update Joy. I had not heard anything since it was first announced. Last week I volunteered down at the Ronald McDonald house at the children’s hospital and it was so hard to see those sick kids with the parents by their side. What courage both the kids and the parents must have to get through an illness.
I am in the group of people that have openly expressed their love of tv. I finally got to see the finale of Broadchurch. Considering the subject matter, that was a great show and I was totally off base on the ending. I like a show that can keep me on my toes and have me rethinking each week. I’m very excited that Amazing Race starts tomorrow. I would watch TFW if she were ever go on Survivor, The Amazing Race or Big Brother. These are shows she could do without the kids. What a concept…..TFW and purseboy as a couple on The Amazing Race!
I vaguely remember something someone posted on a blog or rag mag website, around the time Kateplus8 was cancelled. This person said that they were standing nearby where the Rv episode was being taped. I believe they were taping on one of the campgrounds. This person said that they could hear TFW yelling something like "Go ahead, cancel the show.. I dare you!! I presume that she was talking to the staff. Sure enough, the show was cancelled.
If I had a network talk show that generated a lot of negative commentary about an upcoming guest, I would insist on knowing why and not just settle for the old polarizing argument as Katie Couric did with TFW. But nope, dumb it down, take the easy route, fluff up the piece, and let the "love her or hate her" theory stand.
But for KC to take that extra step and defend TFW makes me a tad suspicious. The very least she should have done was remain neutral about TFW and said something like; " I enjoyed meeting Kate's kids, and spending time with her family". Not according to him. They had been in chats and communicating off Twitter and out of the blue she told him that they should chill with the chatting. It was before they met. He said that their meeting went just fine, she was nice, but she had stopped tweeting him before that. He detailed their "relationship" in tweets with a non-fan back in the late spring, I believe. He never did find out why, other than that he thought Steve found out that his divorce had never been finalized.

There are very specific and lengthy reasons for why the general public doesn't like her. It's not for NO REASON. But that is rarely, if ever, delved into. This was barely a book tour. She doesn't mention the book very much. For the tv viewers who might not be familiar with her, you wouldn't have known she was on to promote her book because the conversation has turned 360 degrees and made it all about the lawsuit, Jon, her reaction, blab blab. The book was never out front most as it would normally be.
If I was on a book tour and the questions weren't about it. I would have stopped the line if questioning and say I'm here to promote my book. Yes? The goal is to get more people aware. Even give cooking demos which u have seen chefs and celebrities do on the morning shows. What has she done? Zero. You do not go on E! Or inside edition to promote your book. They're rag tabiods. Take the more respectable route please!
I read the article at the link that Vanessa posted. In the article is refers to TFW's multi-million doller lawsuit against Jon. I don't recall there being a monetary amount listed in the lawsuit. Can someone refresh my memory. If she is suing for millions, that's just laughable.
Thinking about the fans who finally get to meet their idol, if only for a brief minute. It will be interesting to see what happens with Paige. She's built this up so much in her mind, and I bet she thinks she'll be able to hang out with Kate, engaging in long chats over coffee or whatever. How's Kate going to handle this? I thought about it from that angle, too, and it makes sense, but with Milo's very abrasive and assertive personality, wouldn't you think that she wouldn't care? If she met her, she could really brag it up -- that she and Kate are such good friends, she spent so much time with her and got to really know her even better, the gushing would be more over-the-top than it already is. With all of Milo's positivity (geez, I hate her constant use of that word), I'm not sure she could really see that to meet Kate would be to risk anything. Her ego seems to be as big as Kate's. They are two peas in a pod as far as needing praise and attention. I just don't see her being hesitant about meeting her because her relationship with Kate would change. I don't think that she has any self-awareness. She complained about her family (or neighbors...whatever they were) who packed up in the middle of the night and left no forwarding address or phone number. She couldn't grasp the fact that those people just didn't want her to know. Ally (169), Welcome to Baltimore! I'm a suburbanite, but I live pretty close. If you are interested in the Balt Book Festival, it is not at the Inner Harbor--it is a little farther North. It is at Charles Street and Mt Vernon Place. Depending on where you are, you could just walk North on Charles Street until you reach W Center Street, and it's on the left. If you're driving, the closest and cheapest parking garage is at 11 E Franklin Street. There's so much to see right close by, too. You can check out Edgar Allen Poe's gravesite at the corner of Greene St and Fayette St. If you have kids, the Walters Art Museum is wonderful, and it is right there on Charles Street. And a couple of our recent visitors wanted to go see the house where "Clark Rockefeller"--the Rockefeller impostor who kidnapped his daughter--lived and hid after the kidnapping until he was caught. That is a couple blocks away on Ploy Street, but I don't think it's much to look at.

I agree that something is fishy here, but she has given info on her family. She's talked about LOM, his accident, he likes football and she tweeted a photo of him on his motorcycle, spoke about caring for her aunt who died, her daughter and her son's graduation, as well as her travels to pick up Katie Irene.
Still, Catfishers are good with things like that. They just have to keep their stories straight.
Angela in Catfish was amazing at keeping her stories straight. Nev really never saw anything off or had the slightest idea, the thing that suddenly tipped him off was he found a song they said they wrote elsewhere on youtube sung by someone else. From there he started fact checking everything she said and turning up more black holes but if you didn't fact check the story it would all still make sense.
Someone like that would be really great at any kind of job that requires a lot of meticulous organization. If only they would use their powers for good.

Kathy Griffin is one of the few celebs who shares all the dirty nasty stories. Love her or hate her, I believe her stories are true. If not she would have a lot more lawsuits on her hands. The result of this gimmick of sharing celebrity dirt, is that she's been blacklisted from who knows how many shows and she's on the blacklist of who knows how many celebs. She's hated. Most of her friends are normal people--her family and staff and people she met who are not poser celebs. OT: I know there are some Big Brother fans who read here. Jokers updates dot com has posted Britneys blog about her baby Tilly and her cancer. She says Tilly was seven weeks old when she was diagnosed with cancer (she doesn't say what kind) and that she is receiving chemo and doing well. Britney is very grateful for all the support and encouragement she has received. Britney says until her child s diagnosis, she never really knew what it felt like to be helpless and she had never really cried before this.

How do you know that it was a rumor? I remember that it was when she was leaving a show...not on the show, and she was whisked out of there rather quickly. If memory serves me (it not always does) there were photos published.

She's polarizing. If she pulled in viewers, yes, they would have invited her again. Rumor has it that TLC found her difficult to work with, but they were willing to give Twist of Kate a try, and set her up with Kate Plus Eight after J & K ended. They knew she was a diva (she even admitted it in the People interview), but kept her on their payroll because she brought in the viewers -- at first.
Just being nasty and difficult doesn't mean that a celebrity is never invited back, or doesn't find work. If that were true, there would be many of them out who find themselves unemployed.
Does anyone think/hope the kids are with Jon while Kate is off feeding her narcissism?

They don't know who Kate is. All they heard was "festival" and "food", and they were set to go. The only one of my boys who knows I don't much like her is the one who works at Costco (but not working there much now--he's back in college for the school year). Two years ago, when the show was cancelled and TFW and the kids were on the cover of People, and he first dealt with magazines being tampered with, he mentioned it to me. I said something about how I wouldn't buy a magazine with her on it, and that was all that was said. We don't talk about her at home.
I did tell them that it may be crowded so they have to be my bodyguards so I don't get trampled. They're okay with that. That's one of the fun things about having sons. They're very protective of the woman in their lives. And they're easy to bribe with food. I mentioned gyros and ice cream, and they were ready to go.
Melissa I disagree. Katherine Heigl is having problems getting roles because apparently she's difficult. I'm sure difficult actors get jobs but they have to be talented.

I was thinking about just taking pictures on my phone, but I have heard that people can trace the pictures somehow if they are posted. I'm kind of a techno dum-dum, so...do any of you know if that is true? If so, how can I remove or block it? The last thing I need in my life is one of BV's lackeys buzzing around. Although it might be fun to see them try and find some skeletons in my closet. I'm pretty boring. Married, kids, dogs, cat. Snore. But I still don't want to make it too easy for anyone.
It's all about money.
If the celebrity makes the network, producer, etc. money, they get the job. Heck, the network will even put up with the celebrity's antics (e.g. Charlie Sheen) as long as the celebrity is generating the revenue. But when the ratings go down and advertisers aren't willing to spent their money, the celebrity is out.
In Kate's case, she, Jon and the kids rose so fast, in the reality world. It was like nothing anyone had seen before Everyone was flying high. The ratings kept climbing and climbing, and then the brand imploded. Jon wanted the kids to be off TV. J+K/8 was re-introduced as Kate+8. At that point the ratings went south. And with it so did the money. K+8 wasn't generating enough money to justify the expenses.
All through the J/K+8 and K+8 TLC put up with her diva behavior. Why? Because they were making money.
No money, no show. On to the next person...Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. And Kate becomes another diva without a show. And nobody remembers or cares about her.

Anyway, wouldn't it have been awesome if Robert had gone to the Book Fair in Baltimore with TFW, and if he had publicly given his book touring schedule, with throngs of people lining up for their signed copy of his book about TFW, would have been superfunyouhityourkids. I think that the reason TFW tweeted to her southern fans about coming to the Book Fair is because she reads this blog, and tries to correct things we say she is doing wrong! It seems to happens more times than naught.

Do you remember when he first started working with TFW he pretty much said the same thing about how people should give her a break and so did his wife. He seemed to think they would be friends after the show. And then he got to know her and work with her. He changed his tune once he had to spend time with her. An afternoon is not going to show you what someone is really like. I think maybe Katie should spend some more time with her. Perhaps give her a job. Ha Ha. Just kidding.

I think what Kate has going for her is 8 kids, including *and especially* HOM's. That is what keeps her relevant and that's what keep people tuning back in. I'm afraid she'll use them for another tv show, so I'm really hoping the lawsuit goes Jon's and Robert's way.

From what I have seen from her current cook book tours it has been a total failure. TFW had no other signing tours for her southern fans and only one more scheduled for Canada. Is this because Steve is unable to go with her or is this such a short Cook Book tour, which is really just time away from her kids with Steve and sales don't really matter to her?
From what I've read she had another low turnout for the NJ book signing and it doesn't appear to be promising for this Baltimore book fair either.

I think we're overthinking this. I think she has it in good with Kate as far as what she wants, in that Kate gives her attention and adulation, even once told her she loves her. To her this is enough. I think she's petrified if they meet in person Kate will be disappointed and the contact will cease.

She says Tilly was seven weeks old when she was diagnosed with cancer (she doesn't say what kind) and that she is receiving chemo and doing well. Britney is very grateful for all the support and encouragement she has received. Britney says until her child s diagnosis, she never really knew what it felt like to be helpless and she had never really cried before this.

OT: Thanks for the update Joy. I had not heard anything since it was first announced. Last week I volunteered down at the Ronald McDonald house at the children’s hospital and it was so hard to see those sick kids with the parents by their side. What courage both the kids and the parents must have to get through an illness.
I am in the group of people that have openly expressed their love of tv. I finally got to see the finale of Broadchurch. Considering the subject matter, that was a great show and I was totally off base on the ending. I like a show that can keep me on my toes and have me rethinking each week. I’m very excited that Amazing Race starts tomorrow. I would watch TFW if she were ever go on Survivor, The Amazing Race or Big Brother. These are shows she could do without the kids. What a concept…..TFW and purseboy as a couple on The Amazing Race!

I vaguely remember something someone posted on a blog or rag mag website, around the time Kateplus8 was cancelled. This person said that they were standing nearby where the Rv episode was being taped. I believe they were taping on one of the campgrounds. This person said that they could hear TFW yelling something like "Go ahead, cancel the show.. I dare you!! I presume that she was talking to the staff. Sure enough, the show was cancelled.

If I had a network talk show that generated a lot of negative commentary about an upcoming guest, I would insist on knowing why and not just settle for the old polarizing argument as Katie Couric did with TFW. But nope, dumb it down, take the easy route, fluff up the piece, and let the "love her or hate her" theory stand.
But for KC to take that extra step and defend TFW makes me a tad suspicious. The very least she should have done was remain neutral about TFW and said something like; " I enjoyed meeting Kate's kids, and spending time with her family". Why on earth would Ms. Couric align herself with the likes of Kate Gosselin?

Not according to him. They had been in chats and communicating off Twitter and out of the blue she told him that they should chill with the chatting. It was before they met. He said that their meeting went just fine, she was nice, but she had stopped tweeting him before that. He detailed their "relationship" in tweets with a non-fan back in the late spring, I believe. He never did find out why, other than that he thought Steve found out that his divorce had never been finalized.

This has always bothered me. Often times they act like this hate just sprung up out of nowhere for no reasons because haters gonna hate.
There are very specific and lengthy reasons for why the general public doesn't like her. It's not for NO REASON. But that is rarely, if ever, delved into. It's just kind of insulting to people, as if people are just hateful people who one day woke up and decided ehh what the heck I'll direct my hateful self toward TFW. That is not what happened at all. Most of us LIKED the show and ENJOYED the family until we got a healthy dose of TFW and were like....whhhaa?
Catfish are interesting in that most of them are either hiding obesity or their sexual orientation. What is Milo hiding? My guess, a multitude of things, maybe including these two things.

Exactly. And depending on the person, they can turn it on for much longer. They are actors.
For instance if they see some real benefit to ponying up to someone, like someone powerful or can open doors for them or even a boyfriend to snag for marriage, that person might be clueless who they really are.
It's the same with the golden child. It is not uncommon for golden children to say my sibling is lying that never happened she was a wonderful mother! Because to them she WAS a wonderful mother. Just as it's not uncommon for golden adults to be clueless they have a narcissist on their hands while everyone else around them looks at them like, seriously?

She's not going to go off on them in the 20 seconds or so she takes to sign a book and have a photo taken! These "sweet" encounters are all Milo needs to get the gushing/awesome tweets going again -- everyone who meets Kate loves her. She is so gullible and delusional.

This was barely a book tour. She doesn't mention the book very much. For the tv viewers who might not be familiar with her, you wouldn't have known she was on to promote her book because the conversation has turned 360 degrees and made it all about the lawsuit, Jon, her reaction, blab blab. The book was never out front most as it would normally be.
If I was on a book tour and the questions weren't about it. I would have stopped the line if questioning and say I'm here to promote my book. Yes? The goal is to get more people aware. Even give cooking demos which u have seen chefs and celebrities do on the morning shows. What has she done? Zero. You do not go on E! Or inside edition to promote your book. They're rag tabiods. Take the more respectable route please!
I read the article at the link that Vanessa posted. In the article is refers to TFW's multi-million doller lawsuit against Jon. I don't recall there being a monetary amount listed in the lawsuit. Can someone refresh my memory. If she is suing for millions, that's just laughable.
Thinking about the fans who finally get to meet their idol, if only for a brief minute. It will be interesting to see what happens with Paige. She's built this up so much in her mind, and I bet she thinks she'll be able to hang out with Kate, engaging in long chats over coffee or whatever. How's Kate going to handle this? Too little attention and there's going to be a very disappointed fan. Too much attention and Kate's going to be faced with someone who just won't let go.
