From the other topic: I missed seeing Jon on The View, but I'm so glad that so many of 'us' did. It is obvious to me that Jon IS following his attorney's advice, and getting his side out there. Tying his inability to get a job in his IT field due to TFMJG's lawsuit against him for computer fraud/hacking was a master stroke!
I think it is no surprise to many of us that Jon gave a good interview. It is really really nice to see Jon getting so many positive comments for the last few weeks, after years of being bashed. Even the articles that are phrased as bashing of Jon in favor of TFW are overwhelmed with positive comments about Jon. Off to find a link to watch Jon on The View!
Jon handled himself very well on the View, given he was clearly in Kate's coveted domain. He was much more genuine and relaxed than Kate is in these situations. His initial response was good when Barbara asked the inevitable "Do you support your children?" He asked if she meant emotionally.
Our poor friend Kim walked into the tirade she has got to be dealing with today! "Why is HE on MY show? Why did you not book me on MY show? Call them right now and tell them that they have to have ME on!!! I have to set the record straight! You have to make them put ME ON! I have to show everyone how loveable I am!!! What kinda of a book tour is this anyway??? Call Dr Phil! Lordy! I guess I'll just have to do it myself! Clearly, you don't know how to help ME!!! Kids, mommy has to work. I'm locking MY bedroom door! No one is to knock! Under penalty of severness!!!!! Now, where's Dr. Phil's number???"
Instant KARMA! Jon got most of Kate's thunder and lighting! And he did nothing to get it. I read somewhere that, this stalking pap works for someone connected to Kate, and that it was a set-up, to make Jon look bad. Kate should have shut up and promoted the book. Or at least agreed with Jon about the paps, not going on about, the kids safety, since the kids were not with him. This does put Jon in the good light, with the celebs on the paps stalking them and their kids. Kate did not think as usual. I bet she had one heck of a hissy fit this morning.
TFW is just a miserable person. This shows time and again in her interviews. Jon is being sued by her, yet he can go on the View and articulate without all the hummms and other facial deflections that she uses to bring sympathy to herself. TFW's pathetic woe is me face is just too much. All the while, she is spending time away from her children with Steve (most likely at her cost). The book signings in Staten Island and NJ were a bust and she doesn't even care because she's only interested in spending time away from her kids with Steve. My guess is she has Steve spending time at her house prior to their next scheduled book signing in Maryland. Did she actually find her way home from NJ on her own? I doubt it.
I loved Jon's line: I'm still the same before the show, during the show and after. Jon has grown and moved on. Kate should learn to do the same.
Course, I would have loved to have had Jon, confront , Sheri, on her wishing he got into an accident or wishing his house on fire. We all know Sheri is team Kate, but since Jon put himself above that, it's fine with me.
I haven't seen The View yet but thanks to all who did watch and expressed their favourable opinions. I'm happy Jon was given a chance to set the record straight about supporting the children emotionally as well as financially when they are in his care.
It makes sense that he is finding it difficult to find employment in line with his expertise when he is being sued for alleged offences dealing with computers.
I wish only the best for him and for his beloved children.
Thanks, Auntie Ann! I felt that way too. They were kind of mean to him, in an inappropriate way. I don't get it? I'm sure Jon is SO concerned with Jenny McCarthy's opinion of him as a dad!
I just got home and watched the dvr of Jon on The View. I've gotta say, that was his BEST interview yet!
He appeared pretty relaxed, articulate, friendly, and didn't hesitate w/his answers, was CLEAR about the answers and he definitely fired a shot across the bow w/Kate. He told Jenny & Whoopie that HE couldn't get IT work because of TFW's lawsuit against him!!!
He was clear about the explanation about custody - they SHARE physical (custodial) custody, TFW has 'legal' custody, they share expenses, ie: both provide support, he put away 80% of gross income from the show for 3 years into a trust for the kids. He also said he gave the photog both a verbal and written warning to leave and only when she refused, did he fire to the side. He got a nice welcoming applause, too.
The women on the panel seemed to be satisfied with his answers, too!
FINALLY, Jon had a positive interview. Good job, Jon. He put TFW to shame. Her interviews this week were embarrassing before this show, but after comparing the two - she should be ashamed to show her face on camera again - she gives such bad interviews.
Why all of the sudden is TMZ in the forefront with the J&K b.s.? Didn't that position formerly go to ROL? Do I recall correctly reading that Harvey is "in" with Razzmatazz or something? I guess that could explain it.
Also, did anyone ever read anything about how the NJ book signing went?
I wonder if Katie will come home before hitting Baltimore. And does she need a hotel for the weekend, or could Boobyguard & wife put her up? lol
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the father of Jenny McCarthy' s son bailed when he couldn't deal with having an autistic child. "Good dads love and support their children" is a topic very close to Jenny's heart I'm sure. That might have been the reason she said that to Jon about being a good dad or else.
I don't think Kate went home. According to a few twitter posts, she did some interviews, today. Ones I've never heard of. I bet Kate will go to Maryland, and spend the night there, for the book fair or maybe at purseboys house, as a guest, since she claims what good friends they are, to calm down and get ready to meet the masses? Anything to stay away from those kids.
Auntie Ann, I agree with you. I posted about this topic on the last thread. Jenny McCarthy was rude and condescending. How would she feel if he told her to be a good mother? Jon handled himself very well.
OMG, hilarious. I went to Google and typed 'twitter kate gosselin' and the second link "Kate Gosselin promotes new cookbook blah, blah, blah..." but the pic beside it was of Jon.
YAY JON! I missed it darn it! Finally finally finally! If anyone finds a link please post? Now I'll have to catch up on all the observations you lovelies have posted. Great day!
Why? Because earlier in their broadcast they did a blurb on Jon & Kate which pissed me off.
So even though I had somewhere to be I waited until it was time for viewer's comments and in 30 seconds or less put TMZ on notice ~
* That in 2009 Kate knew that Jon had a gun and went to court on it and that Jon was not allowed to use it on the family property
* That Jon as a parent has the right to protect himself and his children
* That Jon lives out in the woods where it is remote so calling 911 is not going to have the police there in just minutes
* That Jon has a concealed gun permit and that no one should assume that the gun is NOT kept in a gun safe
* That Kate was at a Barnes & Noble book signing the night before and after only selling 15-20 books she left after 25 minutes
* That when their TMZ employee Adam caught Kate the next day when she exited the vehicle that she was pushing her cookbook but yet all Adam wanted to know was about Jon
* That I was not buying that Kate was "profoundly concerned" about Jon, just that in order for her to stay relevant to push her cookbook she is desperate
I may have made some more points but right now I can't remember. I am just sick and tired of Jon being trashed over this gun incident since someone followed him home and he opted to protect himself which is legal for him to do.
TMZ LIVE usually has the previous day's episode available for viewing, so if you want to see it go to their website tomorrow.
I took the Jenny McCarthy comment quite differently. It looked to me like she was just joking and in a flirty kind of way. I don't think she meant it to be offensive. I thought Jenny was the one who was the most friendly to Jon. I think some people get too defensive where Jon is concerned and maybe took the comment the wrong way.
“She is saying she’s dumbfounded that Jon didn’t just call 911 to report the trespasser."
Dumfounded? No, she's just plain dumb. Call 911? Oh, sure. He had no idea who this person was, he warned her, she persisted, he pulled out his gun, she still persisted. What was he supposed to say, "Could you hold on a minute while I call 911? Cops will be here in about 15 minutes. In the meantime, want to come in for a cup of coffee and a doughnut?"
Marie 26...I agree with you. The light tone in Jenny's voice to me made it like she was joking. I thought the look on Jon's face after she said it was funny. Jon, Jenny and Whoopi were talking at the end of the show when the credits were running. I think in that short interview a lot of info got out.
Jon put 80% of the gross income for three years into trust for the kids
Kate has primary legal custory but they have shared custodial custody
Told pap to leave in writing and verbally before he fired his gun
They would've gotten divorced anyway
Baba Wawa looked like an idiot when she said your eight kids are 9 and the one is 12? Jon had to correct her.
And he looked good, he speaks well and he doesn't have to think before he answers a question. He just answers it. He did a great job.
Went to hollybaby and read the article about Jon. At the end of the article there is a video of Kate on Extra. She was asked about the cookbook and she said feels like she's been working on it for her enitre life. Huh? So when you were a kid, teenager, young single adult you've been working on a cookbook? Yeah, okay you tool. Asked about a cooking show she said she would to it but I'm not a chef, I don't use utensils properly blah, blah, blah. Now you'r a f&%$ing tool.
I thought Jenny was the one who was the most friendly to Jon. I think some people get too defensive where Jon is concerned and maybe took the comment the wrong way.
====
I thought it was said in a condescending tone as Swimgirl said. There wasn't any need to say that at all. It was an insult.
Creative name - did you see the "whaa...?" look on Jon's face when she said that.
Oh well, besides that little glitch, it went well.
I have a question. Was Jon's appearance on The View a scheduled appearance or was it done at the last minute? The reason I ask that if it was done at the last minute IMO it shows the lawyers wanted to get Jon's side of the story(ies) out to the public, given that Kate has had free rein to trash him again and again. This also could mean the lawyers are (were?) watching her interviews closely. Could The View been a strategic move by Jon and his lawyers to make Kate look bad by calming explaining custody, the gun, kids finances and JON, not Kate, loosing job opportunities because of his TFW.
From the previous thread: Ally said... I honestly believe that Kate was asked to go on The View but declined when she found out Jon would be there this week too. I think she demanded, me or him.
**
Possible, but I think it's more likely that since she did the Today Show which is on NBC, that doing The View on ABC was more of a deciding factor and nothing that she could control..

Wasn't it TMZ that had the photos she took on their site?
I believe that Harvey/TMZ is buddy buddy with Razzamatazz, and guess who has Razzamatazz as his attorney? If you guessed bullyville, you would be correct.
It seems clear to me that they set Jon up, thinking that it would show Jon out of control and that his children wouldn't be safe with him, making it easier for TFW to get full custody of his children.
As my ole Auntie would say...their plan was ''too clever by half.'' They must all be just beside themselves that public opinion that TFW has always had in a stranglehold has turned against TFMJG, and toward Jon!
"Hope the above link is clickable. It clearly explains about primary legal custody, etc."
Actually, nothing in that link is clear, but I wouldn't expect much coming from Yahoo. I found another source: http://www.nlsa.us/resources/family/fam3_custody.html. What's described here is why I'm confused. If the two types of legal custody are sole and shared and Jon said Kate has legal custody, that would mean she has sole legal custody and can make all major decisions concerning their care, health, etc., herself. But why would she have been awarded sole legal custody?
Jenny McCarthy said she cured her son of autism. There is no cure. She said he got it from vaccinations. Some Dr. who wanted to be published in France spread that around and has since been proven to be a false report.
OT: ABC is showing the premiere episode of Agents of SHIELD again tonight. The new Robin Williams show premieres tonight. The new episode of Big Bang Theory is on tonight! Lots of fun stuff to watch! And Project Runway is still fun to watch!
Just goes to show you when you know truth you can be relaxed, friendly and speak well even in a preassumed hostile interviewing environment. Don't have to um, pause and think, roll eyes, make faces, bob a leg, talk with your hands while trying to keep lies straight. Yesterday people were talking about the contradictions she made in the same sentence. Jon did very well. I think he is working with an A Team. I wonder what a book publisher really thinks when they see their client using limited interview time for Promotion of a book called Love is in the Mix trying to get digs in about the father of the children on the cover. westbrooke
Thanks for the link NJGal. It sounds like while Jon has a say in legal decisions for the kids, Kate can override him as she has primary legal custody. So, based on that, if Kate did want to sign a contract for the kids to work in tv again she could and Jon would have to convince a judge it wasn't in their best interest.
I think a better strategy would be for him to insist that any filming schedule must be made around his custodial time. I don't see a judge overriding that as it's a reasonable request. But I think a filming company might balk at having to do it and there goes Kate's long wished for show.
Glad to hear Jon had a good interview for once. :-)
Question for attorneys. By her suing Jon for items that directly relate to IT, thus limiting his availability to get jobs in his field, if found not guilty or suit thrown out, does Jon have means for retribution for what she did. When he said that I wonder if that was a message he was sending. Westbrooke
OT: Joy - I just want to say that I'm happy that there's someone out there (besides me) who owns the fact that she enjoys watching TV. I do read a lot, but I enjoy my TV also and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
Auntie, yes I saw that. I couldn't really hear what Jenny said (I had asked here earlier if anyone knew what she said), but I saw Jon's reaction and knew something was up! It looked like he didn't know whether to laugh or be insulted!

Good point. Kate might have primary LEGAL custody, but that doesn't mean she can make legal decisions for the kids (i.e. film) if that decision interferes with Jon being able to see the kids.
It puts the Australia trip into perspective. I believe at the time we heard Jon went to court over it, and the judge allowed Kate to take them for filming, but gave him extra time in the summer to make up for it, so it could be he was arguing over custody time, his only legal argument.
In any case, no one wants to film these kids because TFW's reputation proceeds her, but even IF they wanted to, they wouldn't want to deal with an ex who is putting up a stink about custody. It'd have be a guaranteed money maker for the network to even bother with that.
Bethany has a post on her site saying that Kate will be on but doesn't say what date. However, according to my cable guide the other guests listed on Bethenny's site for that show are on next Thursday, 10/3.
80% of the millions Jon claimed he earned in the last 3 years of the show was put into trust for the kids? Then how can Kate claim that their college is not funded yet? Maybe they have been living on the trust funds all along, and that is why Jon doesn't have to contribute any CS at the present time?
OT: I just wanted to offer a brief primer to any anons that may be having trouble posting a name. This was a problem for me when I first started posting here and because I couldn't get on I had no way of getting my questions answered. At the end of this page there is an 'Enter your comment" box. Below that is a box with the words "comment as" next to it. In the darker shaded box next to this (mine says Google Account) is a down arrow. Click on this arrow and click on the 7th option down "Name/Url". Type your name in the "Name" box that appears (you can leave the "URL" field blank) then hit continue. Leave your comment and then click publish in the blue box below. I love to see new posters jumping aboard.
Jon answered Whoopi's question about employment in IT. As a direct result of TFW''s allegations in her lawsuit, wire tapping, identity theft and computer hacking, Jon is unable to secure a job in the IT field. Love Whoopi and how engaging she was with Jon.
Did Jon actually say legal custody? The article say that he said "Jon and Kate have been divorced for four years. The pair share custodial care of their eight kids, but Kate has primary legal control." Are legal control and legal custody the one in the same?
So happy for Jon that he could say his thing, defend himself and that the whole interview wasn't a deliberate set-up to make him look like an a-hole, because I was a little bit afraid of that. The ladies of the View sometimes show a pack mentality in attacking people. Woohoo for Jon!!! Boohooo for Kate :-)
Looks like Kate's putting pressure on HCI to send her overseas:

I just happened to have the last 20 minutes of The View on because I was getting ready for class and wanting to watch our local news before I left. I honestly think Jon's appearance was a last minute thing. He was on the last 8-10 minutes of the show and when they were doing the segment before I was even wondering if they would get to him. LOL
I too think he did a great job with the interview. He was very relaxed and answered the questions he was asked very honestly and truthfully. When Kate is interviewed I can't stand watching her for more than 3 minutes before my stomach turns and I have to turn it off. I want to know more from Jon and could probably talk to him all day he seems that genuine.
Kate Gosselin @Kateplusmy8 27m ANY BOOK TOURS ARRANGED BY @HCI_Books I GO HAPPILY! WOULD ❤ TO @JerseyGirlKort @h4rrypotter: @Kateplusmy8 YOU HEADING TO THE UK SOON LADY?! ____________
Right. HCI is going to send you all the way to the UK so you can be rude and cut the book signing short.
Jon was great! I loved when asked about his and Kate's relationship, he said he'd LOVE it if they got along. And I believed him. Unlike Kate who wants to win, to get revenge, or whatever other motives she has in her demented little mind, Jon just wants to get along. I think he is ready for a nice, simple, cordial relationship, whenever she grows the eff up and realizes it will be good for her too. I also took Jenny's comment as flirty and fun. Agree with everyone who already said Jon's interview skills blew Kate's right out of the water. Side-by-side, he was candid and honest. She seemed calculating and uncomfortable. He's still dishy, but I am not getting in Goody's way- she scares me. :-)
I want to touch on the legal custody thing as well...I wonder if he gave her full legal custody in order for him to have the shared visitation and not having to pay child support.
Please ignore if this was already asked and answered. Things go by so fast here and I only read bits and pieces. If so...just ignore.
I watched the video of Kate on Extra, and then I watched the video of Jon on The View. What a difference! I thought Kate looked haggard and drawn, and the make up job didn't help and neither do the dark roots. On the other hand, Jon looked fresh, relaxed and happy. He looks great! Jon answered questions that were asked, Kate begged for a TV show. What a difference! Jon, excellent job!
I went over to abc and watched Jon's interview. I enabled closed captioning, and he did say 80% of the income from the show. So -- those kids should have a pretty good cushion, if their mother can't get her greedy paws on it. I seem to recall that Jon said something earlier about his having set up trust funds for the kids that neither TFMJG or he could touch. So that bodes well.
Re TFMJG having legal custody of the kids. Maybe that was done so she can continue to peddle them for TV shows? Remember that the judge who heard Jon's request for them not to go to Australia said that since it was for work it was okay. That would go a long way toward explaining how she got away with letting CWS film without even telling Jon about it.
Ally, I left you a message on the previous thread.
Gayle said... 59 Did Jon actually say legal custody? The article say that he said "Jon and Kate have been divorced for four years. The pair share custodial care of their eight kids, but Kate has primary legal control." Are legal control and legal custody the one in the same?
Physical custody and Legal control (or whatever it is called) are two different things. I am divorced and I have primary physical custody, meaning my two children lie with me and their father gets visitation, and we have shared legal custody, meaning we share on decisions when it comes to schooling, medical care, etc.
Child support is a whole other issue as well and it has nothing to do with physical and legal custody. LOL
Jon has always been the more sympathetic and likeable of the two Gosselin parents. Glad more people are seeing that for themselves. Anyone who watched their J & K plus 8 program would have picked up on the huge difference between the two. I say again, Jon was used for one purpose. Most of us know what that purpose truly was. Smelling the coffee for years now and it only gets stronger. Still not understanding why all of these programs have any interest in the Gosselins. Wouldn't they be a better fit on "Where are they now?" I wish someone would put TFW on the spot with the question, "What do your 8 children do for after school activities besides chores?" Are any of the 8 in music, gymnastics, Scouts, sports, or dance? We all know the answer to that, don't we? If it doesn't promote TFW, it isn't important. So happy for Jon that he had a positive interview on the VIEW. Best wishes to him and Robert in the "lawsuit."

Westbrooke, I am not an attorney, but it definitely sounds like that is the message they are sending, loud and clear.
I'm glad to hear Jon did well on The View. Oh how the tide has turned. Amazing what can happen when the right people are in his corner.
TFW is probably blowing a gasket. The only thing better would be if the movers and shakers at The View were to decide that it would help ratings to have a male perspective, and give Jon a seat on that couch more often. He is an affable fellow who has been a very good Mr. Mom. Now that would be poetic justice.
Apparently, Kate just did the Bethany Frankel show. It's on her web-site(Bethany's) It's appears to have been added last min. Bethanys is another loser talk show. That was I think today. So I was right kate is milking it for all it worth, not to go home, hoping for more last min talk/radio show appearances. And for those people who think the book company ifs going to flip a bill for Kate to go to another country, other than Canada, they are gravely mistaken. Kate does not sell enough books to warrant that.

Funny, how quick, the media is to talk about Kates reaction to Jon & gun and her Katie appearance. But, Jons interview on: The View, there is only one very small article on it, and that is not even a media rag. Interesting?
Didn't see the interview yet but if Sherri just sat there I have a feeling she probably ignored Jon before and after the show. Sherri is very bitter over her divorce as you can tell by comments she made previously. She believes everything Kate has said and I wish someone would set her straight. She does owe him an apology for those nasty things she said.
Good job Jon. You have always been the more personable, friendly one and you got a chance to show it. I remember a long time ago I believe Kate herself said she didn't like you to talk to the fans in the stores etc. She can't tell you that now.

I just listened to The View clip. It sounds like, at the end, several of them are saying 'thanks for coming today, or thanks for coming on', Jon responds with 'thanks for having me' at the same time that Jenny says, 'Thanks....for...being a good dad, or I'd have to come and kick your butt myself.'
Jon was saying thank you at the same time that Jenny started talking, so he didn't hear what she said at first. You can see it on his face at it starts to register what she said, and he grins at her. She grins back.
She was thanking him for being a good dad. How cool is that....

What TFMJG should have tweeted ANY BOOK TOURS ARRANGED AND PAID FOR WITH ME AND MY BODYGUARD BY @HCI_Books ....
Watched the clip of the View--Jenny McCarthy's comment was awkward to say the least, but I think Jon played it off be smiling and raising his eyebrows. Love how Whoopi asked a very pertinent question about his job, allowing Jon to give the answer about how Kate's lawsuit has affected HIS employment opportunities. I hope Jon can turn around and sue TFMJG when she loses the lawsuit.
BAWA is slipping. Isn't she the one that proclaimed TFMJG as one of the "stars of 2009"?
So Kate has the kids every other weekend, and a few nights during the week. Doesn't sound very much like a full time mom to me. Sounds a lot like more or less 1/2 and 1/2.
When TFW says she has sole custody, she's talking the medical/school decisions. Not physical custody, like she's implying. Nor 100% of the financial costs.
Jon at least is providing food for the days he has them. He must be purchasing some things for them since he said they go to Target and Walmart.
The person I thought was exceedingly condescending was Barbara Walters.
How DARE she ask if supports them????? Who does she think she is passing judgement like that? She didn't even have the story straight, and she comes out with an attacking question like that?
Kate filmed the Betheny frankel show today and it will be shown next week on Oct 3. If you go to Bethenys site under episodes for next week it's there.

Kate is a twit, thanks for the link for Jon's View interview. I wasn't able to watch the whole episode, but could watch that clip. As others have been saying, he did an amazing job.
BW got cut off, but she said, 'So no child support then?'
By then Jon had turned to another questioner and didn't hear (or at least didn't answer) BW.
She was certainly trying to imply that he was a deadbeat, because he paid no child support. She couldn't get her befuddled head around the fact that Jon has the kids 1/2 the time, he pays for everything during that 1/2, thus no child support is necessary.
The person I thought was exceedingly condescending was Barbara Walters.

BaBa WaWa should have retired years ago. I won't watch the View anymore if she's on. She is so rude and condescending to guests and her co-hosts. She never knows what is going on. She's also the biggest name dropper I've ever seen.
Thank you ladies for providing the link to Jon's interview. I just watched it. It's everything you all have been saying. I will add that ladies didn't talk over him. Instead they gave him time to actually answer the questions. And the question Whoopie gave him about having trouble finding an IT job seemed like a feeder question so Jon could get the information out to the public that Kate's lawsuit was preventing him from getting IT work. I'm glad that was brought out into the open. Also, he seemed to answer a lot of questions and directly. Didn't him/haw around, be sly or use "ums". He gave a good interview. The other thing was Jon seemed prepared for the questions, didn't have to search for the answers the way Kate does. Way to go Jon!
Mel said... 84 So Kate has the kids every other weekend, and a few nights during the week. Doesn't sound very much like a full time mom to me. Sounds a lot like more or less 1/2 and 1/2. ___________
And when the kids are with Kate during the week the nanny is also there.
How did she get legal custody anyway? I almost tried to get legal custody (we have shared legal) a few years ago because my hubby's wife had him question every little thing and I read that if the parties were unable to agree easily on decisions a judge will grant one of them primary legal.
I also don't get why he keeps saying he pays no child support because he pays when they are with them. That can't be the reason. That's true of most people on their custody time, including my ex who pays me CS. It must have to do with the ratio of her income vs his being so large in her favor. What I do wonder about is, I hope he did not agree to give her primary legal in return for her not asking for CS. I know people say that can't happen, but I have agreed to lower CS when my ex has been unemployed. Yes, they come up with a figure but my enforcement officer said we could mutually agree to any number we wanted. Just sayin.

Boy, TFW really really really looks rough. Whoever called her breathtakingly beautiful..well I just don't see it. I think she looks like a tranny
Amy2- I agree that Whoopie teed up that question about the lawsuit interfering with Jon's employability in IT. Jon did great, really great. Just contrasting his disposition and generally upbeat attitude to Kate's, well, it's like the chasm in that ole' waste o' space of a Grand Canyon. Considering that just a couple years ago, the harpies on The View were ready to burn Jon at the stake, this interview could not have gone better. When you think about it, in just 2 minutes or so, Jon gave us a glimpse into the KID'S LIVES and what they do with him. Going out and about, socializing, sleep overs, hiking.... Kate says they watch her cook. Oh, and the Bethenny interview? I'll settle on just reading reports on Kate's appearance with a like-minded woman who thinks the father of her child is but a lowly sperm donor. #SuperFunMisandryFest!!!!
I said it before and I'll say it again. Jon and Robert's lawyers are probably high-fiving each other with every media appearance she has made this week. She is dead meat.
What a difference in the interviews; Jon appears relaxed and above all confident; she comes across as nervous, uptight and not at all confident all related to the upcoming legal process.
Melissa Gorga had her book signing yesterday at the same BN where Kate had hers. Over 100 people were there for Melissa as opposed to the "about 50" that showed up for Kate. The picture with this article shows Melissa in the same section of the store as Kate was, so that must be where they hold there book signings.
I guess Staten Island didn't know how to help Kate.
And the question Whoopie gave him about having trouble finding an IT job seemed like a feeder question so Jon could get the information out to the public that Kate's lawsuit was preventing him from getting IT work.
I agree, that seemed like a feeder question. Also seemed like it was to offset BW's snarky remark about 'no child support then?'
I, too, liked how the ladies didn't all talk at once, nor talk over him. They asked their question, and then let him answer it before going on to the next question.

I hope Jon can turn around and sue TFMJG when she loses the lawsuit.'' ~~~~~~~~~~~ Susan, I agree with you that I was glad Whoopi asked the question that allowed him to point out the very real fact that the lawsuit would affect his ability to get IT jobs. I think that Jon probably could sue TFW when she loses or the lawsuit is dismissed, but I really don't think he would. I just have the feeling that Jon would rather continue to move on with life as a private citizen, rather than be in the spotlight with more headlines of Jon vs TFMJG. PS....a random thought that makes me smile. Every single time I type allowed, I realize I've typed ''aloud'' and have to correct it, thinking of Robert with a smile on my face. GO ROBERT!! !!!!!!
I posted back on the previous thread, so bringing it here, whewww-its like the olden days, with a new post every day!
I think Jon did a great job, and, looked relaxed and authentic. I don't think he could have done anything better. He answered every question, without spilling any details, which would be very challenging.
By contrast, Kate looks fake, uncomfortable, unhappy and like she has poison coursing through her veins. What show was she on? I taped the Bethenny show, but can't find an interview when I fast forward. Different show?
Auntie, I caught BW's senior moment, too. Thought it was hilarious that she didn't know how many kids one of her most fascinating people have!
Also, I definitely heard Jon say 80%, not 8--rewound dvr several times. IMO, he meant the gross earnings paid to the family, or, maybe just to Jon--not TLC's gross earnings. We will have to wait for the kids' books to come out, to find out the details.
On Bethenny's site, the description for Kate's appearance says:
" Kate Gosselin is here for a candid interview about her finances and her family. Plus, she offers tips on weathering a messy divorce." ******* Offers tips on weathering divorce? This woman NEEDS TIPS, and has done nothing but publicly alienate Jon, trash his reputation and pretty much blame him for the weather in Denmark. That's a joke. After 4 years, Kate and Jon can not be in each other's presence and do not co-parent AND she is suing Jon. How can this woman give any advice? Oh no... don't tell me this is Kate's next book? "I Just Want You To Know How To Destroy Your Ex, Take His Children And Look Expressionless While Doing It!"
I think that Jon showed, once and for all, who is the high road taker and has the gift of gab. HE thinks on his feet--much easier to do when you don't have to sort through which lies you told where and when to whom!
Gawd, Kate and Bethenny what a combo. Two narcisstic parental alienating manhaters on one stage. Grief. ---------------------------------------------

Yes! Two of a kind. I don't like Bethenny so I don't watch. I also don't watch The View as I don't like B.W. or Jenny McC and Sheri is another WOS. Joy was my favorite but now she is gone. Oh well. Thanks to those who provide links so I can see what actually happens.
Like you Joy in Virginia , I like to watch television but I PVR everything and watch whenever I can. I am an insomniac so I like to catch up in the wee hours.
The 80% in trust for the kids would make sense as there 10 of them in the Jon&KatePlus8 days. !0% for Jon, 10% for Kate and 80% for the "supporting" cast.
Why on earth would this Bethany person (I have no idea who she is) want to ask Kate about her finances? Is this just an opportunity for Kate to say how she's "piecing and patching" and NEEDS A TV SHOW for a source of income? WTH?
As we've seen so far, this damn book tour is NOT about the book. It's about Kate now desperately trying to get another tv gig.
I hope she's on several more "talk shows" begging. Then maybe even more people will be disgusted by it all.
He certainly handles himself better in front of the camera than Kate does. He's more relaxed while Kate is nervous. The Lawsuit was only filed last month so I don't know why he said he can't get a job as an IT because of it. A little white lie there. Also, how did he find the time to give the Pap a written warning before he fired a warning? But he did a good job.He's a natural on TV.
I also don't get why he keeps saying he pays no child support because he pays when they are with them. That can't be the reason. 97
Local, perhaps he knew he had limited time and was trying to keep it simple, rather than raise new questions. I bet he would have gotten cut off if he tried to explain PA law. Just a thought. Overall it sounds like he did a great interview.
The 80% in trust for the kids would make sense as there 10 of them in the Jon&KatePlus8 days. !0% for Jon, 10% for Kate and 80% for the "supporting" cast. 123
I heard this as 80% of Jon's cut, not of the total. (??)
I also remember reading that when TFW found out that Jon put money for the children in an untouchable trust, she was beside herself.

I stopped by Melissa Gorga's book signing in B&N in Staten Island as I did FTWs and let me tell you what a difference 24 hrs makes...I couldn't even get in the parking lot so I had to park in the next lot....B&N was jammed, the line wrapped around the entire 2nd floor and the escalator was full w/people trying to get upstairs..FTWs time there was like she wasn't even there..EMPTY...I was amazed in the difference...I did not buy her book but stayed a few minutes and heard people leaving say how nice and friendly she was(sure doesn't sound like our dear WOS...a friend of mine did a stop by the Paramus signing and she said no one was there(she got there about 8pm) so we are all correct in saying and thinking that this so-called book tour was about her having some tv facetime and little get away w/Stevie boy(Nobu and Essex house sleepover)...I guarantee you she doesn't go home til the end of this pathetic I hate Jon tour part X is over...
Bitchy Pants... Just saw your comment on the older thread. I am getting so confused with the threads changing so fast. I posted on the last thread, not knowing this one existed and was 100 comments deep. Thanks for the words Bitchy Pants. I wanted to bring a post over that I thought was funny. Someone was talking about Kate's Fettucchini Alfredo recipe with 1 lb of butter, 1/2 c of half and half, 1/2 c of whole milk, and 2 c of Parmesan cheese. Ughh...so rich and sooo salty. It makes me sick to think about it. But get this, Honey Boo Boo eats the same dish! Mama June makes "sketti with butter" and ketchup. Did Kate need to get reprinting rights from mama for the cookbook? Bet she never thought that she and Honey Boo Boo had so much in common! Ha!
After watching Jon on The View and listening to his versions of the pap incident, I read a couple articles online that featured the picture of Jon with his hand on the gun in his waistband. One thing that stood out was that this picture even exists. It clearly indicates that this pap continued to take pictures after it was obvious that Jon was objecting, having gone as far as to reach backwards and into his waistband. It would seem that if she got the shot of the gun clearly in the frame, she also would have seen it either through the lens or with her own eye. Yet she pushed the shutter button anyway. If I was in a situation where an agitated person was yelling at me to leave, possibly stating they were armed, and definitely reaching for something, the absolute last thing I would do is snap a picture. This sure seems to support the theories that this was a set up of some kind, especially when coupled with Kate's Jon bashing...errrr...book tour.
I watched the clip of Jon on The View. I swear at the very end after they signed off I heard Jenny say to him "I was just kidding". Too bad she didn't say it before the show ended if that's what she really said.

I'm not an attorney, but I can tell you that Jon could always file suit for defamation or damages, etc. Anyone can sue for any reason - TFW suing Jon as a prime example, but it doesn't mean that they'll win. That said, I don't think Jon would sue. I think he just wants TFW to stop harassing him, to be happy and left alone to live his life and see his kids.

Does The Extra interview and the Insider interview get played on their tv shows? Or does Kate's interviews just get played on the internet? **
TFW was also talking about the IT stuff and hacking YEARS ago. That's what Tuma's statute of limitations arguments are based on because he is contending that she put it out there very clearly that she knew but waited past the SOL to do anything about it. Anyone googling him to hire him would quickly find that and it's understandable they wouldn't want to be part of that mess.
I don't have anything to offer on legal custody because it's not making a whole lot of sense to me. That yahoo thing I think indicates PA has to be different....I just read that with sort of a "huh??" look on my face. NOT the case here! Legal custody in CA is VERY rare and almost always only reserved for fathers who are completely missing, dead, in jail (a father in jail is too hard to contact if for instance the child needs emergency surgery), or have no visits due to abuse. I have never in my life seen a father with unmonitored and frequent contact with his children have anything less than joint legal. Legal custody in CA is one step before terminating parental rights. It is not something any father with unmonitored contact would ever accept in their right mind and in fact it's basically illegal and illogical to order it in such situations. The reason for this is the judge has to find it's not in the child's best interest to grant joint legal custody, and since that's mostly based on the child's health, safety and welfare, it makes no sense to give a father unmonitored contact, which has direct bearing on their health safety and welfare, and then turn around and say but joint legal is not in their best interest. It's inconsistent and just isn't done. In CA, full legal also gives the parent freedom to move out of state without the other parent vetoing it.
I can't believe how fast and furious that karma train is chugging! It's like overnight the tables turned. I'm blindsided and in awe. The moment we've been talking about for God knows how many years is finally here.
As far as the child support, I have read a great deal about PA child support and I do believe that part makes perfect sense as we said all along. The more contact you have with your children the less you pay until you pay little to nothing. And if Jon has already taken great strides to set up a trust for them, that would be that missing piece of the puzzle in which the judge could find best interest. I.e., since you've already worked so actively to set aside the vast majority of their income all those years, I find that you have done your part to ensure they are provided for for years to come, and in light of your frequent contact which reduces your mathematical figure as well, I'm relieving you of support. Makes perfect sense, both legally and logically.
By the way, thank you Jon for protecting their money. They will understand and appreciate what you did someday.
Kate's tip on how to weather a divorce? She'll repeat the same tired one we've heard her tell at least 2 times over the past couple of days which is to remember to keep your mouth shut, but never back down.
If someone can tell me how in the heck that's good advice I'll eat my hat. To successfully co-parent you have to give and take, back down when what you're doing is just not in the best interests of your kids and/or your sanity and the relationship you need to have with your Ex - for the sake of the kids! But, silly me, she's never successfully co-parented!! She's the LAST person anyone should be taking divorce advice from.
Is it just me? All these direct questions to both Jon and Kate so bluntly about their child support and finances seem so rude! Even though it's nice to set the record straight, I wish and would have no problem with each of them saying money is a private matter as it should be in our family and I'd appreciate you not ask about it. I mean for heaven sake you wouldn't go up to a friend even a close one, maybe not even a family member, and say hey are you paying child support hey you're out of work how is your wallet, are your kids set for life? Any trusts? I get that people have speculated about money because it's been put out there so much, but that's different than an interviewer going directly to their face and asking.
I was always taught asking about money is rude. If someone offers it up, then it's okay. But you don't go poking around asking people about the state of their bank accounts unless they indicate first they want to and are okay to talk about it. Sheesh.
Admin, maybe Jon allowed Kate to have primary physical, to avoid going to court over every decision? Can you imagine if Jon had a say in their schooling? He might, gasp, tell her to send them to public school! It might also explain no child support. If Kate decides what medical insurance they have, and what school they go to, it makes sense she would pay for those things. If Jon doesn't have at least half the skin in the game, why should he pay for her expensive decisions?
Does anyone remember the episode where they discuss the trust? TFW didn't want the kids to get the money until their 30 if they didn't go to college! Jon was like, 'that's insane. No, we're not doing that.'
which is to remember to keep your mouth shut, but never back down.

Morty Kaufman says the opposite-- the key to a healthy relationship (he's been married 40 years) is TO GIVE IN from time to time. Morty is 91 years old and has more experience getting along with folks than most of us, I think he knows what he's talking about.
If you're wondering who he is .... check out the swiffer commercials. There will be a post on them soon. :)
Admin, maybe Jon allowed Kate to have primary physical, to avoid going to court over every decision?
&&&
I think that's entirely possible if not likely. The thing he has made clear is that he just wants to be with his kids and maintain their bond. I don't think he's sweating over the things TFW sweats over--with her, it would drive anyone nuts. I'm sure he would love a say, but it's not worth the aggravation. For instance he could fight her over school but is it worth it? They'll get educated somehow does it really matter in the grand scheme of things where?
Remember in his dads interview he said something like "legal? you want legal, who cares?"
I tend to believe him. Who cares. ..... If something ever does come up, he might care or regret it....but the odds of that happening or it being something he really wants to put his foot down about seem slim at this point. Besides they're older now and if they really don't want to do something odds are they won't.
That said, I will fight tooth and nail for legal every single time out of the gate. I believe it's very important and would never ever advise to give it up....but I can respect that he might feel differently and I respect what a man who is dealing with an obsessed parental alienator feels he needs to do to deal with her.
The question from BW was sort of rude, but considering TFW is going around blabbing how she is the "sole supporter" of the children, she probably felt it was a question that had to be asked to find out if what TFW was spouting was true.
Repeating a comment I made that seems to be lost in space! Mel said... 84 ''So Kate has the kids every other weekend, and a few nights during the week. Why have I never thought about the custody agreement between Jon and TFW in that way? It is SOOOO obvious once you think of it...so why on earth has it not entered my mind till I read your comment?
Instead of saying Jon has the children every other weekend and a couple of nights during the week, the exact same thing could be said of TFMJG, who has ''visits'' every other weekend an a few nights during the week! Thank you!

Yes, and I think he pointed out that some may not want to or be cut out for college. I think he mentioned trade school. Realitytvkids.com (Administrator) said... 143 Morty Kaufman says the opposite-- the key to a healthy relationship (he's been married 40 years) is TO GIVE IN from time to time. ------------------------- Absolutely true. Best advice in marriage ever! When I see myself digging my heals in (I know this is happening because I get all hot, and my chest gets tight, lol), I stop for a minute and think to myself, "Is this a bigger deal to me? Or my husband?". If it's a bigger deal to him, I let him win. If it's a bigger deal to me, he'll let me win. It's not about a person winning, but the relationship winning. I don't think TFW is capable of thinking that way.
Kate would have gotten sole legal custody because the judge ruled the kids could continue to film. Jon didn't want that. So, she got legal custody so she was the only parent needed for permission to work. They share physical custody because there is no reason Jon should not be able to spend just as much time with them. He sued for sole custody to prevent them from ever filming Kate + 8, sadly he lost.
I think Jon and Robert called Kate's bluff and now she is panicking. Hence the much ado about nothing with Jon's gun.
&&&
I do too and I think she has NO idea how to handle this. No one has ever said no to her before, not this firmly anyway. One day she was blabbing left and right about the lawsuit, the next day she did an about face and shut up entirely about it. Someone is talking to her about what to do or say or she's thinking a lot about what she should do. You don't change your tune suddenly like that. She is pivoting, trying different approaches on different days. One day she doesn't even know what Jon's up to, the next she's all concerned about safety (as she frolics in NYC). This is really fascinating to watch. Better than the movies. How does a narcissists deal with it when someone finally says no to them? Panic, apparently.

I agree. You don't hear other celebs being asked about their support arrangements because it's no one's business. However, since TFW has insinuated and outright lied about the support issues for a very long time, I don't think Jon (in this case) has any choice but to answer the questions with details. Had TFW never said one word about support, then I don't think this would even be questioned.
If it's a bigger deal to him, I let him win. If it's a bigger deal to me, he'll let me win. It's not about a person winning, but the relationship winning. I don't think TFW is capable of thinking that way.
&&&
What a GREAT approach. I love that. No TFW does not think that way because she lives life on a point system. Her priority is how to rack up the most points, and how to make sure to take away points from anyone else who managed to scrounge up a few points. And how to make sure the score is always heavily balanced in her favor.
It does not matter how great or small the battle or how much the other person really wants their way, as long as she wins that particular point. Also it's a tit for tat system so if someone gets a point you must immediately either get a point too or take back their point. NOTHING can just be let go.
Except what do you do when someone suddenly stole the entire box of points at ONCE??? She has no idea!
Yes I agree and understand they had to ask it because Kate keeps putting it out there. I just wish that they would at least ACT like it's rude. Sort of like well I hate to ask this since it's so private but Kate keeps saying this about your support. What do you say? You don't have to answer if you don't want to. Instead it's hi JON SO WHAT'S UP WITH YOUR WALLET MAN? Good grief.
I didn't see the interview but it sounds like every other interview where they rudely ask about their finances. They just ask without feeling it's rude whatsoever. The heck.

I think you've got it backwards. The question is LEGAL custody which Jon said today TFW has primary legal custody. Jon & TFW have shared or joint physical custody.
All these direct questions to both Jon and Kate so bluntly about their child support and finances seem so rude! ------------------------------------ It was way rude of Barbara to push this and this is where I wish Jon played the semantics game as well as Kate. He should have shut her down when she asked do you support the kids like TFW would have by saying yes, absolutely! Instead he asks for clarification on if she meant emotional support and that just made Barbara dig deeper and ask about the financial stuff. Jon, tell her it ain't her bidness.
Admin said... Yes I agree and understand they had to ask it because Kate keeps putting it out there. I just wish that they would at least ACT like it's rude.
I think I didn't word it right. Admin I agree with you about Jon, that was my point, that maybe Jon gave up primary custody to Kate, he wouldn't want to go court to settle every decision. He probably thought it was better to give her the legal say and for him to bow out.
Suzeee, not sure how I have it backwards? Legal custody gives Kate the right to select the schools and medical, etc....

The folks at HCI must be tearing their hair out at this point. This promotion tour was supposed to be about the book but the interviews so far are along the lines of the controversay surrounding the divorce. I find myself thinking 'I've already seen this movie'.
As someone who has gone through this, picking your battles is essential to peace even when the battle you walk away from is borderline for you. Kids Kids Kids that is the balance you have in your mind. Will they be ok is this really something that will do them harm or something I just don't agree with?
I get that TWF is harmful but he may be winning the battles we don't know about that are even more important than what school they go to...

Suzee said... 153 ''I took Jon to mean that he put away 80% of the total family's earnings away for the kids, but IDK.'' ~~~~~~~~ Wait a minute, Suzee. Don't forget that part of that total family was TFW, and there is no way on God's green earth that TFMJG would allow Jon to give his children 80% while SHE got 10%. That would never ever happen. Period.
In TFW's warped narcissistic mind, SHE was the one who worked, while Jon's children just played around while she was on and Jon had to be ordered to do every little thing. In her mind, SHE was the star, and in my opinion, it is much more likely that TFMJG got at least 80% and Jon got the rest, of which he put 80% in trust for his children.
I saw Jon's interview on The View, and as everyone has said, he was a pleasure to watch. He had no edge, he was comfortable, handled every question with grace and did himself a huge favour today. TFW must be deep into the box' o wine tonight.
I have no idea how this interview came along, but I would not be surprised if Whoopi didn't have a say in it. Someone gave him a chance to defend himself, and I am so pleased that place was The View! Ouch.
I do have my limits, and I will have to read here after TFW appears on Bethenny. Watching those two on the same stage would cause my head to explode. I will say this, I see a new friendship in the making between them, my feeling is they are cut from the same cloth.
I do wonder if Sherri apologized to Jon off camera for her threats to burn his house and car and that she had "timber wood". http://www.examiner.com/article/jon-and-kate-plus-8-sherri-shepherd-says-she-ll-blow-up-jon-gosselin-s-car I don't believe for a minute that Kate was invited to the View and turned it down. She followed them on twitter (not sure if she still does)Jon's lawyer could have made a few calls yesterday afternoon, and gotten Jon on this morning. Kate would never turn down an opportunity to be in front of any camera. Her speaking skills haven't improved much, still lots of ums and the honestlys still creep in. Jon did a good job on the interview today, considering how rushed it was. I think Jenny was just flirting and joking when she said be a good dad or I'll get you. Barbara is just on another planet mentally. The show is so much better when she isn't there. Did she really ask Jon if he paid alimony? I missed that? For a former "news" reporter, she knows nothing of her subject's background; ie; why would a former nurse w/ kids in school full time, the million dollar home, multiple cars get alimony from a guy renting a home and working 16 hour days. Does she not listen to anything? Jon still comes off as a more likable and down to earth guy.
I just watched the interview, I noticed Jon sort of chuckled when he said I'm being sued for hacking. As in a "how ridiculous" chuckle. I like how he said Kate should be more concerned about how he's going to protect his home and their children. Amen.
Poor Barbara, it was very hard for her to grasp that two sets of multiples would be 9 and 12 years old. Forced retirement?
I also noticed the little dig at Kate implying they watch TV all the time and even in their rooms with her, whereas when they're with him they turn all that off and just spend time together. Lord knows she's gotten enough snide remarks off at him, it's about time he give a snide one.
This was a very good interview, he hit everything that needed to be said.
This thing has turned into the War of the Roses and it's all Kate's fault. Had she stuck to neutral talking points like just cooking, there would be no reason to invite Jon on and no reason for Jon to accept. She did this to herself. Pass the popcorn.
Morty and Lee Kaufmann commercials are the only ones I actually rewind and watch over! There is one where he says, "I don't clean. I manufacture dirt." And Lee gives the camera this very subtle look and barest eyebrow raise, as if to say, "that's right." LOL
I hope those two are actually married to each other. They are just lovely to watch and sweet to watch. La da dee, la da dum. the swiffer dance.
Admin: totally agree with you. Kate should have stucked to the promo of the cookbook, told anyone who asked about law suite: no comment or I can't talk about it, and not talk about it, like she did. As for the gun, as I posted on other thread, Kate should have agreed with Jon about the pesty paps, but then also said, I would have just went inside & called police or just call the police in front of pap, and go on to say, I do hope Jon keeps that gun in a safe place when the kids are with him, I'll have to talk to him about that. And end it right there. Not going on about my kids safety blah blah blah. Especially since a lot of the celeb are up in arms about the paps & their kids. Kate could have saved face, instead her book got buried.

La da dee, la da dum. the swiffer dance. ********************** They are indeed married and those commercials are unscripted bits from a video review they of Swiffer. It's a neat little story - they were widowed and met and married in their 40's when she was teaching his son in school.
I hope those two are actually married to each other. They are just lovely to watch and sweet to watch. La da dee, la da dum. the swiffer dance. ------------------
Yes they are married in real life and have been married for 44 years. They were on Hoda and Kathie Lee, here's the interview.
Why would Kate not send Milo and first autographed copy of her cookbook since they are great friends "off twitter?" Milo must have very low expectations of a true friendship.
When Amazon first offered the book on Kindle, the price was $9.99, now it's at $12.62. It's also ranked #6,392 in the Kindle store.
Did they up the price for the e-book edition, so that people would buy the hard cover(which is only a $1 more) instead? Guess they don't want to be stuck with all those books they printed.
Babbles Walters slows the whole View train down to a chug. When she speaks she expects silence and admiration. And then she talks and talks and usually does it with a superior attitude and maddening name dropping. She will shut down anyone who dares interrupt her pearls of wisdom and knowledge while not even trying to ensure everyone else - including guests - are given the same courtesy. I have never thought she added one positive thing to any of the shows she has been on. I hope she does retire soon.
I love the Morty and Lee Kaufmann commercials. They met after both of their spouses had died and they've been married 45 years. He does the laundry because the washing machine had "too many buttons". Sometimes when I'm joking w/ my hubby I call him Morty, after that commercial. We just laugh. We've been married 30+ years.

And what a juxtaposition. I recall when DC Miller was questioning Susan Wright, and the story of her marriage, husband's abuse of the daughters, prison sentence, etc. comes out. And DC Miller says, "how could you not know?"
The strangest book media appearances/book signing tour EVER!
Our noted author in VA is dead on about the current state of the publishing world. Including the world of self-publishing. I mentioned a few months ago about my husband and his current book release through a publisher, (who also employs him in other editing aspects of the publication of other books, which makes some decent money regardless of any subsequent book sales.) As a note, because of his subject matter (military history) all of his book signings are around either father's day or military days. Not scheduled directly after an author files suit against her ex-spouse while trying to promote a book called "Love is in the Mix." LOL!
I've been following KG tour with a bit of sympathy for her "publisher" or their "PR" department. What a mess.
In every relationship there is a need to listen, discuss, understand and make choices based on the greater good. At home, at work, around town it's not about me, it's about us. I'm so glad my parents taught me I'm not the only person who counts. I trust the Kreiders taught that to their children. Which of them did't listen?
I was idly thinking yesterday that I wish Jon would get some professional coaching/training on how to handle interviews so he wouldn't come across so badly as he usually does, giving her the upper hand.

I missed seeing Jon on The View, but I'm so glad that so many of 'us' did.
Yea Jon! Sorry I missed his interview, but I'm so glad he left the good impression he did.
Jon handled himself very well on the View, given he was clearly in Kate's coveted domain. He was much more genuine and relaxed than Kate is in these situations. His initial response was good when Barbara asked the inevitable "Do you support your children?" He asked if she meant emotionally.
I'm so glad he was there! Can't wait to catch the interview. Go Jon!
I didn't care for that blonde babe's last remark to Jon "Be a good dad or I'll come kick your butt myself".
Say again? That was uncalled for.
Good ol' Babawaawaa asks Jon how old 'the one' is? She's too confused to hold that job anymore.
I doubt it.
Where's the interview link? Not available yet?
Interesting article and poll on Hollybaby.
I wish only the best for him and for his beloved children.
bm
Thanks, Auntie Ann! I felt that way too. They were kind of mean to him, in an inappropriate way. I don't get it? I'm sure Jon is SO concerned with Jenny McCarthy's opinion of him as a dad!
Just saw the View. Jon did great . Wow, where is the 92% of the money!
Ted Gibson Salon???
I like Jon, comes across as really nice guy!
I'm sorry, but that's too funny.
YAY JON! I missed it darn it! Finally finally finally! If anyone finds a link please post?
Now I'll have to catch up on all the observations you lovelies have posted. Great day!
Did anyone go to the NJ book signing? Inquiring minds want to know.
I called into TMZ LIVE this morning.

It was never confirmed. Nobody seems to know (except Jon and the people who sent her) the identity of that person.

The View episode should be online for viewing tomorrow. I will be sure to check it out!

I thought it was said in a condescending tone as Swimgirl said. There wasn't any need to say that at all. It was an insult.
Creative name - did you see the "whaa...?" look on Jon's face when she said that.
Oh well, besides that little glitch, it went well.
Is Baba just there as a set decoration now?
I have a question. Was Jon's appearance on The View a scheduled appearance or was it done at the last minute? The reason I ask that if it was done at the last minute IMO it shows the lawyers wanted to get Jon's side of the story(ies) out to the public, given that Kate has had free rein to trash him again and again. This also could mean the lawyers are (were?) watching her interviews closely. Could The View been a strategic move by Jon and his lawyers to make Kate look bad by calming explaining custody, the gun, kids finances and JON, not Kate, loosing job opportunities because of his TFW.

Possible, but I think it's more likely that since she did the Today Show which is on NBC, that doing The View on ABC was more of a deciding factor and nothing that she could control..

Well....wasn't it TMZ's photographer that followed Jon home, and got onto his private property, refusing to leave till Jon fired a warning shot?

I couldn't put my finger on what was more 'off' than usual with that interview but your explanation makes sense!
The "candid" photos taken during her trip to NY with Steve Neild don't seem to capture her "profound fear and concern for the safety of her kids."
OMG, I can't believe it. An online tabloid article has accurately reported something!
Hey, ROL, pay attention to how it's done!

I can't even watch TFW's interviews anymore for this reason. 1. She's not interesting 2. Her face doesn't move, AT ALL. and 3. Lying gets me angry, and all she does is hem, haw, and lie.
“There’s a lot of misconceptions about me,” Jon told the ladies of The View. “One misconception is that I made millions on reality TV.”
I notice he didn't say WE, he said "I".

However, according to my cable guide the other guests listed on Bethenny's site for that show are on next Thursday, 10/3.
http://www.bethenny.com/episodes/kate-gosselin-addresses-rumors-about-money-and-her-family-loni-love-bethennys-skinny-krispies-treats-for-kids-co-ed-panel
So it seems Bethenny tapes her show a week ahead. The episode listing on her site only goes up until 10/1.
Can someone post a link to the Loaded Inside Edition interview please?
I re-watched Jon's segment online with the closed-captioning on. He did say 80%, not 8%.
80% of the millions Jon claimed he earned in the last 3 years of the show was put into trust for the kids? Then how can Kate claim that their college is not funded yet? Maybe they have been living on the trust funds all along, and that is why Jon doesn't have to contribute any CS at the present time?

Jon answered Whoopi's question about employment in IT. As a direct result of TFW''s allegations in her lawsuit, wire tapping, identity theft and computer hacking, Jon is unable to secure a job in the IT field.
Love Whoopi and how engaging she was with Jon.
Did Jon actually say legal custody? The article say that he said "Jon and Kate have been divorced for four years. The pair share custodial care of their eight kids, but Kate has primary legal control." Are legal control and legal custody the one in the same?
You can also watch Jon's segment here, without bringing up the full episode. Scroll down a bit to find his segment.

I have a question. Was Jon's appearance on The View a scheduled appearance or was it done at the last minute? The reason I ask that if it was done at the last minute IMO it shows the lawyers wanted to get Jon's side of the story(ies) out to the public, given that Kate has had free rein to trash him again and again. This also could mean the lawyers are (were?) watching her interviews closely. Could The View been a strategic move by Jon and his lawyers to make Kate look bad by calming explaining custody, the gun, kids finances and JON, not Kate, loosing job opportunities because of his TFW.
************************************************************************

Yeah Jon! Great interview. He's got a lot of good to say and I'm glad he can finally express it capably. He's way better than Kate! Good for him.
If you go on the View website you can watch just his clip of the show too.

******************************************************************
Wouldn't they be a better fit on "Where are they now?"
I wish someone would put TFW on the spot with the question, "What do your 8 children do for after school activities besides chores?" Are any of the 8 in music, gymnastics, Scouts, sports, or dance? We all know the answer to that, don't we? If it doesn't promote TFW, it isn't important.
So happy for Jon that he had a positive interview on the VIEW. Best wishes to him and Robert in the "lawsuit."
Thank you I am no longer anonymous!
By her suing Jon for items that directly relate to IT, thus limiting his availability to get jobs in his field, if found not guilty or suit thrown out, does Jon have means for retribution for what she did. When he said that I wonder if that was a message he was sending. Westbrooke

Hallelujah that Gladys finally got her book(s)! I've lost sleep over it. Not. lol

When TFW says she has sole custody, she's talking the medical/school decisions. Not physical custody, like she's implying. Nor 100% of the financial costs.
Jon at least is providing food for the days he has them. He must be purchasing some things for them since he said they go to Target and Walmart.
Nice play on words again, TFW.

~~~~~~~~
I believe that the reason the Judge allowed TFW to take Jon's children to Australia was that they were under contract, and the Judge refused to void the contract.
If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.
Kate is a twit, thanks for the link for Jon's View interview. I wasn't able to watch the whole episode, but could watch that clip. As others have been saying, he did an amazing job.
BW got cut off, but she said, 'So no child support then?'
By then Jon had turned to another questioner and didn't hear (or at least didn't answer) BW.
She was certainly trying to imply that he was a deadbeat, because he paid no child support.
She couldn't get her befuddled head around the fact that Jon has the kids 1/2 the time, he pays for everything during that 1/2, thus no child support is necessary.
Thank you ladies for providing the link to Jon's interview. I just watched it. It's everything you all have been saying. I will add that ladies didn't talk over him. Instead they gave him time to actually answer the questions. And the question Whoopie gave him about having trouble finding an IT job seemed like a feeder question so Jon could get the information out to the public that Kate's lawsuit was preventing him from getting IT work. I'm glad that was brought out into the open. Also, he seemed to answer a lot of questions and directly. Didn't him/haw around, be sly or use "ums". He gave a good interview. The other thing was Jon seemed prepared for the questions, didn't have to search for the answers the way Kate does. Way to go Jon!
And when the kids are with Kate during the week the nanny is also there.
How did she get legal custody anyway? I almost tried to get legal custody (we have shared legal) a few years ago because my hubby's wife had him question every little thing and I read that if the parties were unable to agree easily on decisions a judge will grant one of them primary legal.
I also don't get why he keeps saying he pays no child support because he pays when they are with them. That can't be the reason. That's true of most people on their custody time, including my ex who pays me CS. It must have to do with the ratio of her income vs his being so large in her favor. What I do wonder about is, I hope he did not agree to give her primary legal in return for her not asking for CS. I know people say that can't happen, but I have agreed to lower CS when my ex has been unemployed. Yes, they come up with a figure but my enforcement officer said we could mutually agree to any number we wanted. Just sayin.
Amy2- I agree that Whoopie teed up that question about the lawsuit interfering with Jon's employability in IT.
Jon did great, really great. Just contrasting his disposition and generally upbeat attitude to Kate's, well, it's like the chasm in that ole' waste o' space of a Grand Canyon.
Considering that just a couple years ago, the harpies on The View were ready to burn Jon at the stake, this interview could not have gone better.
When you think about it, in just 2 minutes or so, Jon gave us a glimpse into the KID'S LIVES and what they do with him. Going out and about, socializing, sleep overs, hiking.... Kate says they watch her cook.
Oh, and the Bethenny interview? I'll settle on just reading reports on Kate's appearance with a like-minded woman who thinks the father of her child is but a lowly sperm donor.
Melissa Gorga had her book signing yesterday at the same BN where Kate had hers. Over 100 people were there for Melissa as opposed to the "about 50" that showed up for Kate. Susan, I agree with you that I was glad Whoopi asked the question that allowed him to point out the very real fact that the lawsuit would affect his ability to get IT jobs. I think that Jon probably could sue TFW when she loses or the lawsuit is dismissed, but I really don't think he would. I just have the feeling that Jon would rather continue to move on with life as a private citizen, rather than be in the spotlight with more headlines of Jon vs TFMJG.
PS....a random thought that makes me smile. Every single time I type allowed, I realize I've typed ''aloud'' and have to correct it, thinking of Robert with a smile on my face. GO ROBERT!! !!!!!!
I posted back on the previous thread, so bringing it here, whewww-its like the olden days, with a new post every day!
I think Jon did a great job, and, looked relaxed and authentic. I don't think he could have done anything better. He answered every question, without spilling any details, which would be very challenging.
By contrast, Kate looks fake, uncomfortable, unhappy and like she has poison coursing through her veins. What show was she on? I taped the Bethenny show, but can't find an interview when I fast forward. Different show?
Auntie, I caught BW's senior moment, too. Thought it was hilarious that she didn't know how many kids one of her most fascinating people have!
Also, I definitely heard Jon say 80%, not 8--rewound dvr several times. IMO, he meant the gross earnings paid to the family, or, maybe just to Jon--not TLC's gross earnings. We will have to wait for the kids' books to come out, to find out the details.
On Bethenny's site, the description for Kate's appearance says:
" Kate Gosselin is here for a candid interview about her finances and her family. Plus, she offers tips on weathering a messy divorce."
*******
Offers tips on weathering divorce?
This woman NEEDS TIPS, and has done nothing but publicly alienate Jon, trash his reputation and pretty much blame him for the weather in Denmark.
That's a joke.
After 4 years, Kate and Jon can not be in each other's presence and do not co-parent AND she is suing Jon.
How can this woman give any advice?
Oh no... don't tell me this is Kate's next book?
"I Just Want You To Know How To Destroy Your Ex, Take His Children And Look Expressionless While Doing It!"
Quite a difference in the tv-presence and the "interviewee" skills between the two, isn't there?
Was noticeable before but especially apparent now.
I think that Jon showed, once and for all, who is the high road taker and has the gift of gab. HE thinks on his feet--much easier to do when you don't have to sort through which lies you told where and when to whom!
Remember that the judge who heard Jon's request for them not to go to Australia said that since it was for work it was okay. 70
Why on earth would this Bethany person (I have no idea who she is) want to ask Kate about her finances? Is this just an opportunity for Kate to say how she's "piecing and patching" and NEEDS A TV SHOW for a source of income? WTH?
As we've seen so far, this damn book tour is NOT about the book. It's about Kate now desperately trying to get another tv gig.
Jon said 80% "of the show" for 3 years, which would have been the time that it was J&K+8.
I stopped by Melissa Gorga's book signing in B&N in Staten Island as I did FTWs and let me tell you what a difference 24 hrs makes...I couldn't even get in the parking lot so I had to park in the next lot....B&N was jammed, the line wrapped around the entire 2nd floor and the escalator was full w/people trying to get upstairs..FTWs time there was like she wasn't even there..EMPTY...I was amazed in the difference...I did not buy her book but stayed a few minutes and heard people leaving say how nice and friendly she was(sure doesn't sound like our dear WOS...a friend of mine did a stop by the Paramus signing and she said no one was there(she got there about 8pm) so we are all correct in saying and thinking that this so-called book tour was about her having some tv facetime and little get away w/Stevie boy(Nobu and Essex house sleepover)...I guarantee you she doesn't go home til the end of this pathetic I hate Jon tour part X is over...
Bitchy Pants...
Just saw your comment on the older thread. I am getting so confused with the threads changing so fast. I posted on the last thread, not knowing this one existed and was 100 comments deep. Thanks for the words Bitchy Pants.
I wanted to bring a post over that I thought was funny. Someone was talking about Kate's Fettucchini Alfredo recipe with 1 lb of butter, 1/2 c of half and half, 1/2 c of whole milk, and 2 c of Parmesan cheese. Ughh...so rich and sooo salty. It makes me sick to think about it. But get this, Honey Boo Boo eats the same dish! Mama June makes "sketti with butter" and ketchup. Did Kate need to get reprinting rights from mama for the cookbook? Bet she never thought that she and Honey Boo Boo had so much in common! Ha!
I think Jon and Robert called Kate's bluff and now she is panicking. Hence the much ado about nothing with Jon's gun.
After watching Jon on The View and listening to his versions of the pap incident, I read a couple articles online that featured the picture of Jon with his hand on the gun in his waistband. One thing that stood out was that this picture even exists. It clearly indicates that this pap continued to take pictures after it was obvious that Jon was objecting, having gone as far as to reach backwards and into his waistband. It would seem that if she got the shot of the gun clearly in the frame, she also would have seen it either through the lens or with her own eye. Yet she pushed the shutter button anyway. If I was in a situation where an agitated person was yelling at me to leave, possibly stating they were armed, and definitely reaching for something, the absolute last thing I would do is snap a picture.
This sure seems to support the theories that this was a set up of some kind, especially when coupled with Kate's Jon bashing...errrr...book tour.
I watched the clip of Jon on The View. I swear at the very end after they signed off I heard Jenny say to him "I was just kidding". Too bad she didn't say it before the show ended if that's what she really said.
Straight from the Bethenny site: (Notice the last sentence--that COULD be interesting. Have never seen the Bethenny show so not sure what the panel does, or if they get to interact with the guests but boy, oh, boy that could be a good one!! Maks is Tony's best friend, remember!)
I'm not an attorney, but I can tell you that Jon could always file suit for defamation or damages, etc. Anyone can sue for any reason - TFW suing Jon as a prime example, but it doesn't mean that they'll win. That said, I don't think Jon would sue. I think he just wants TFW to stop harassing him, to be happy and left alone to live his life and see his kids.
*******
Does The Extra interview and the Insider interview get played on their tv shows? Or does Kate's interviews just get played on the internet?
**
The interviews were all on tv.
TFW was also talking about the IT stuff and hacking YEARS ago. That's what Tuma's statute of limitations arguments are based on because he is contending that she put it out there very clearly that she knew but waited past the SOL to do anything about it. Anyone googling him to hire him would quickly find that and it's understandable they wouldn't want to be part of that mess.
I don't have anything to offer on legal custody because it's not making a whole lot of sense to me. That yahoo thing I think indicates PA has to be different....I just read that with sort of a "huh??" look on my face. NOT the case here! Legal custody in CA is VERY rare and almost always only reserved for fathers who are completely missing, dead, in jail (a father in jail is too hard to contact if for instance the child needs emergency surgery), or have no visits due to abuse. I have never in my life seen a father with unmonitored and frequent contact with his children have anything less than joint legal. Legal custody in CA is one step before terminating parental rights. It is not something any father with unmonitored contact would ever accept in their right mind and in fact it's basically illegal and illogical to order it in such situations. The reason for this is the judge has to find it's not in the child's best interest to grant joint legal custody, and since that's mostly based on the child's health, safety and welfare, it makes no sense to give a father unmonitored contact, which has direct bearing on their health safety and welfare, and then turn around and say but joint legal is not in their best interest. It's inconsistent and just isn't done. In CA, full legal also gives the parent freedom to move out of state without the other parent vetoing it.
I can't believe how fast and furious that karma train is chugging! It's like overnight the tables turned. I'm blindsided and in awe. The moment we've been talking about for God knows how many years is finally here.
As far as the child support, I have read a great deal about PA child support and I do believe that part makes perfect sense as we said all along. The more contact you have with your children the less you pay until you pay little to nothing. And if Jon has already taken great strides to set up a trust for them, that would be that missing piece of the puzzle in which the judge could find best interest. I.e., since you've already worked so actively to set aside the vast majority of their income all those years, I find that you have done your part to ensure they are provided for for years to come, and in light of your frequent contact which reduces your mathematical figure as well, I'm relieving you of support. Makes perfect sense, both legally and logically.
By the way, thank you Jon for protecting their money. They will understand and appreciate what you did someday.
Jon said "...of the gross income of the show for three years.."
Kate's tip on how to weather a divorce? She'll repeat the same tired one we've heard her tell at least 2 times over the past couple of days which is to remember to keep your mouth shut, but never back down.
If someone can tell me how in the heck that's good advice I'll eat my hat. To successfully co-parent you have to give and take, back down when what you're doing is just not in the best interests of your kids and/or your sanity and the relationship you need to have with your Ex - for the sake of the kids! But, silly me, she's never successfully co-parented!!
She's the LAST person anyone should be taking divorce advice from.
Is it just me? All these direct questions to both Jon and Kate so bluntly about their child support and finances seem so rude! Even though it's nice to set the record straight, I wish and would have no problem with each of them saying money is a private matter as it should be in our family and I'd appreciate you not ask about it. I mean for heaven sake you wouldn't go up to a friend even a close one, maybe not even a family member, and say hey are you paying child support hey you're out of work how is your wallet, are your kids set for life? Any trusts? I get that people have speculated about money because it's been put out there so much, but that's different than an interviewer going directly to their face and asking.
I was always taught asking about money is rude. If someone offers it up, then it's okay. But you don't go poking around asking people about the state of their bank accounts unless they indicate first they want to and are okay to talk about it. Sheesh.
Admin, maybe Jon allowed Kate to have primary physical, to avoid going to court over every decision? Can you imagine if Jon had a say in their schooling? He might, gasp, tell her to send them to public school! It might also explain no child support. If Kate decides what medical insurance they have, and what school they go to, it makes sense she would pay for those things. If Jon doesn't have at least half the skin in the game, why should he pay for her expensive decisions?
Does anyone remember the episode where they discuss the trust? TFW didn't want the kids to get the money until their 30 if they didn't go to college! Jon was like, 'that's insane. No, we're not doing that.'
which is to remember to keep your mouth shut, but never back down.
Morty Kaufman says the opposite-- the key to a healthy relationship (he's been married 40 years) is TO GIVE IN from time to time. Morty is 91 years old and has more experience getting along with folks than most of us, I think he knows what he's talking about.
I took Jon to mean that he put away 80% of the total family's earnings away for the kids, but IDK.
Admin, maybe Jon allowed Kate to have primary physical, to avoid going to court over every decision?
&&&
I think that's entirely possible if not likely. The thing he has made clear is that he just wants to be with his kids and maintain their bond. I don't think he's sweating over the things TFW sweats over--with her, it would drive anyone nuts. I'm sure he would love a say, but it's not worth the aggravation. For instance he could fight her over school but is it worth it? They'll get educated somehow does it really matter in the grand scheme of things where?
Remember in his dads interview he said something like "legal? you want legal, who cares?"
I tend to believe him. Who cares. ..... If something ever does come up, he might care or regret it....but the odds of that happening or it being something he really wants to put his foot down about seem slim at this point. Besides they're older now and if they really don't want to do something odds are they won't.
That said, I will fight tooth and nail for legal every single time out of the gate. I believe it's very important and would never ever advise to give it up....but I can respect that he might feel differently and I respect what a man who is dealing with an obsessed parental alienator feels he needs to do to deal with her.
The question from BW was sort of rude, but considering TFW is going around blabbing how she is the "sole supporter" of the children, she probably felt it was a question that had to be asked to find out if what TFW was spouting was true.
Repeating a comment I made that seems to be lost in space!
Instead of saying Jon has the children every other weekend and a couple of nights during the week, the exact same thing could be said of TFMJG, who has ''visits'' every other weekend an a few nights during the week!
-------------------------
Absolutely true. Best advice in marriage ever! When I see myself digging my heals in (I know this is happening because I get all hot, and my chest gets tight, lol), I stop for a minute and think to myself, "Is this a bigger deal to me? Or my husband?". If it's a bigger deal to him, I let him win. If it's a bigger deal to me, he'll let me win. It's not about a person winning, but the relationship winning. I don't think TFW is capable of thinking that way.
Kate would have gotten sole legal custody because the judge ruled the kids could continue to film. Jon didn't want that. So, she got legal custody so she was the only parent needed for permission to work. They share physical custody because there is no reason Jon should not be able to spend just as much time with them. He sued for sole custody to prevent them from ever filming Kate + 8, sadly he lost.
I think Jon and Robert called Kate's bluff and now she is panicking. Hence the much ado about nothing with Jon's gun.
&&&
I do too and I think she has NO idea how to handle this. No one has ever said no to her before, not this firmly anyway. One day she was blabbing left and right about the lawsuit, the next day she did an about face and shut up entirely about it. Someone is talking to her about what to do or say or she's thinking a lot about what she should do. You don't change your tune suddenly like that. She is pivoting, trying different approaches on different days. One day she doesn't even know what Jon's up to, the next she's all concerned about safety (as she frolics in NYC). This is really fascinating to watch. Better than the movies. How does a narcissists deal with it when someone finally says no to them? Panic, apparently.
It is great to hear that Jon had such a good interview. I think we witnessing some brilliant legal advise/work, too.
I agree. You don't hear other celebs being asked about their support arrangements because it's no one's business. However, since TFW has insinuated and outright lied about the support issues for a very long time, I don't think Jon (in this case) has any choice but to answer the questions with details. Had TFW never said one word about support, then I don't think this would even be questioned.
I LOVE Morty and Lee Kaufman in those commercials! "There. Morty just summed it up."
What a GREAT approach. I love that. No TFW does not think that way because she lives life on a point system. Her priority is how to rack up the most points, and how to make sure to take away points from anyone else who managed to scrounge up a few points. And how to make sure the score is always heavily balanced in her favor.
It does not matter how great or small the battle or how much the other person really wants their way, as long as she wins that particular point. Also it's a tit for tat system so if someone gets a point you must immediately either get a point too or take back their point. NOTHING can just be let go.
Except what do you do when someone suddenly stole the entire box of points at ONCE??? She has no idea!
Yes I agree and understand they had to ask it because Kate keeps putting it out there. I just wish that they would at least ACT like it's rude. Sort of like well I hate to ask this since it's so private but Kate keeps saying this about your support. What do you say? You don't have to answer if you don't want to. Instead it's hi JON SO WHAT'S UP WITH YOUR WALLET MAN? Good grief.
I didn't see the interview but it sounds like every other interview where they rudely ask about their finances. They just ask without feeling it's rude whatsoever. The heck.
This is not safe. Be careful, babe!
I think you've got it backwards. The question is LEGAL custody which Jon said today TFW has primary legal custody. Jon & TFW have shared or joint physical custody.
All these direct questions to both Jon and Kate so bluntly about their child support and finances seem so rude!
------------------------------------
It was way rude of Barbara to push this and this is where I wish Jon played the semantics game as well as Kate. He should have shut her down when she asked do you support the kids like TFW would have by saying yes, absolutely! Instead he asks for clarification on if she meant emotional support and that just made Barbara dig deeper and ask about the financial stuff. Jon, tell her it ain't her bidness.
I wholeheartedly agree, Admin!
I think I didn't word it right. Admin I agree with you about Jon, that was my point, that maybe Jon gave up primary custody to Kate, he wouldn't want to go court to settle every decision. He probably thought it was better to give her the legal say and for him to bow out.
Suzeee, not sure how I have it backwards? Legal custody gives Kate the right to select the schools and medical, etc....
The folks at HCI must be tearing their hair out at this point. This promotion tour was supposed to be about the book but the interviews so far are along the lines of the controversay surrounding the divorce. I find myself thinking 'I've already seen this movie'.
As someone who has gone through this, picking your battles is essential to peace even when the battle you walk away from is borderline for you. Kids Kids Kids that is the balance you have in your mind. Will they be ok is this really something that will do them harm or something I just don't agree with?
Wait a minute, Suzee. Don't forget that part of that total family was TFW, and there is no way on God's green earth that TFMJG would allow Jon to give his children 80% while SHE got 10%. That would never ever happen. Period.
In TFW's warped narcissistic mind, SHE was the one who worked, while Jon's children just played around while she was on and Jon had to be ordered to do every little thing. In her mind, SHE was the star, and in my opinion, it is much more likely that TFMJG got at least 80% and Jon got the rest, of which he put 80% in trust for his children.
I saw Jon's interview on The View, and as everyone has said, he was a pleasure to watch. He had no edge, he was comfortable, handled every question with grace and did himself a huge favour today. TFW must be deep into the box' o wine tonight.
I have no idea how this interview came along, but I would not be surprised if Whoopi didn't have a say in it. Someone gave him a chance to defend himself, and I am so pleased that place was The View! Ouch.
I do have my limits, and I will have to read here after TFW appears on Bethenny. Watching those two on the same stage would cause my head to explode. I will say this, I see a new friendship in the making between them, my feeling is they are cut from the same cloth.
I do wonder if Sherri apologized to Jon off camera for her threats to burn his house and car and that she had "timber wood". http://www.examiner.com/article/jon-and-kate-plus-8-sherri-shepherd-says-she-ll-blow-up-jon-gosselin-s-car
I don't believe for a minute that Kate was invited to the View and turned it down. She followed them on twitter (not sure if she still does)Jon's lawyer could have made a few calls yesterday afternoon, and gotten Jon on this morning. Kate would never turn down an opportunity to be in front of any camera. Her speaking skills haven't improved much, still lots of ums and the honestlys still creep in. Jon did a good job on the interview today, considering how rushed it was. I think Jenny was just flirting and joking when she said be a good dad or I'll get you. Barbara is just on another planet mentally. The show is so much better when she isn't there. Did she really ask Jon if he paid alimony? I missed that? For a former "news" reporter, she knows nothing of her subject's background; ie; why would a former nurse w/ kids in school full time, the million dollar home, multiple cars get alimony from a guy renting a home and working 16 hour days. Does she not listen to anything? Jon still comes off as a more likable and down to earth guy.
I just watched the interview, I noticed Jon sort of chuckled when he said I'm being sued for hacking. As in a "how ridiculous" chuckle. I like how he said Kate should be more concerned about how he's going to protect his home and their children. Amen.
Poor Barbara, it was very hard for her to grasp that two sets of multiples would be 9 and 12 years old. Forced retirement?
I also noticed the little dig at Kate implying they watch TV all the time and even in their rooms with her, whereas when they're with him they turn all that off and just spend time together. Lord knows she's gotten enough snide remarks off at him, it's about time he give a snide one.
This was a very good interview, he hit everything that needed to be said.
This thing has turned into the War of the Roses and it's all Kate's fault. Had she stuck to neutral talking points like just cooking, there would be no reason to invite Jon on and no reason for Jon to accept. She did this to herself. Pass the popcorn.
Morty and Lee Kaufmann commercials are the only ones I actually rewind and watch over! There is one where he says, "I don't clean. I manufacture dirt." And Lee gives the camera this very subtle look and barest eyebrow raise, as if to say, "that's right." LOL
I hope those two are actually married to each other. They are just lovely to watch and sweet to watch. La da dee, la da dum. the swiffer dance.
Admin: totally agree with you. Kate should have stucked to the promo of the cookbook, told anyone who asked about law suite: no comment or I can't talk about it, and not talk about it, like she did. As for the gun, as I posted on other thread, Kate should have agreed with Jon about the pesty paps, but then also said, I would have just went inside & called police or just call the police in front of pap, and go on to say, I do hope Jon keeps that gun in a safe place when the kids are with him, I'll have to talk to him about that. And end it right there. Not going on about my kids safety blah blah blah. Especially since a lot of the celeb are up in arms about the paps & their kids. Kate could have saved face, instead her book got buried.
It's kind of sad that Kate only has three things to talk about Jon and her kids and missing TV.
She never talks about a new man or friends or family or fun things she does.
She's all most 40 and still living in the past while bashing her ex and using her kids and hanging with a married man.
Why would Kate not send Milo and first autographed copy of her cookbook since they are great friends "off twitter?" Milo must have very low expectations of a true friendship.
When Amazon first offered the book on Kindle, the price was $9.99, now it's at $12.62. It's also ranked #6,392 in the Kindle store.
Did they up the price for the e-book edition, so that people would buy the hard cover(which is only a $1 more) instead? Guess they don't want to be stuck with all those books they printed.
Babbles Walters slows the whole View train down to a chug. When she speaks she expects silence and admiration. And then she talks and talks and usually does it with a superior attitude and maddening name dropping. She will shut down anyone who dares interrupt her pearls of wisdom and knowledge while not even trying to ensure everyone else - including guests - are given the same courtesy. I have never thought she added one positive thing to any of the shows she has been on. I hope she does retire soon.
I love the Morty and Lee Kaufmann commercials. They met after both of their spouses had died and they've been married 45 years. He does the laundry because the washing machine had "too many buttons". Sometimes when I'm joking w/ my hubby I call him Morty, after that commercial. We just laugh. We've been married 30+ years.
The strangest book media appearances/book signing tour EVER!
Our noted author in VA is dead on about the current state of the publishing world. Including the world of self-publishing. I mentioned a few months ago about my husband and his current book release through a publisher, (who also employs him in other editing aspects of the publication of other books, which makes some decent money regardless of any subsequent book sales.) As a note, because of his subject matter (military history) all of his book signings are around either father's day or military days. Not scheduled directly after an author files suit against her ex-spouse while trying to promote a book called "Love is in the Mix." LOL!
I've been following KG tour with a bit of sympathy for her "publisher" or their "PR" department. What a mess.
Difference between KK and Melissa for me is Melissa seems real kind loving her family and friend and fans,
KK well fake user abuser unkind unfriendly unless she's grifting and doesn't care for her fans.
In every relationship there is a need to listen, discuss, understand and make choices based on the greater good. At home, at work, around town it's not about me, it's about us. I'm so glad my parents taught me I'm not the only person who counts. I trust the Kreiders taught that to their children. Which of them did't listen?
So...TFW's advice about how to get thru a divorce is bite your tongue and never back down.
Jon bites his tongue and Robert never backs down. So there you have it.
I was idly thinking yesterday that I wish Jon would get some professional coaching/training on how to handle interviews so he wouldn't come across so badly as he usually does, giving her the upper hand.
Looks like maybe that has happened, eh? Teehee.
What is triggering the spike in sales this month?
I am not a fan of the HW's franchise but the HWs do seem to grasp the concept to be kind do their fans and appreciate them...TFW never ever did....
