Kate's book signing tonight is only scheduled to last until about 8pm. Maybe that's what she signed up for. Long stretch of the imagination, but maybe their driving home afterwards? It's only 2.5 hours from home. Seems more the purpose of two days away has been to just be on tv and the book has been a second thought.

Kate is following up on the gun. Yes Kate please do, I have no concern with you asking Jon what steps he is taking to ensure it is being safely stored under lock and key so the kids are unable to get at it and injure themselves.
At the same time, I hope Jon asks you what steps you are taking to ensure your kids safety when you leave them unsupervised by the pool, when you let your one son crawl under your running vehicle to get a piece of paper, and when your toddlers were left unsupervised in a basement.

The Celeb Wife Swap must have had the blessing of TLC, but she is delusional to think that anyone wants to star her in her own show. Her diva behavior has producers fleeing from her, thus the attempt to explain on Today how much she has changed. The crook book, the alliance with BV, the lawsuit, and now this book tour must have been in the planning stage for a year. She is a Masterminder, I'll give her that.

Ally (176) I just don't get the TLC contract stuff, either. Two years ago she was claiming she "needs a job, like yesterday" and whining to Wendy Williams that she had no offers at all. Then months of "wink-wink" and "you just never know!" tweets. She was getting her fans all spun up for nothing? That's just mean! Then, as you said, 18 months ago she declared herself free of TLC. And as for non-competition with TLC, she said many times over the past 2 years that she'd like to take up where K+8 left off. And yes, she did CWS. Now, after all that, she's suddenly saying she wasn't free to be on another show all that time? What about all the begging, hinting, groveling for a new show? Something smells fishy. I definitely think she's lying. She's been free all this time, and now she's trying to take this opportunity to nudge some network to make an offer. She knows this could be her last chance. After K+8 ended, she did these little media tours every 3 months or so. This time, it's been 7 months (since CWS came out). Shows a definite decline in interest in her. She needs to make "lightning struck" right now. There may not be another chance.

Oh, throngs! They hired extra traffic cops to take care of the outside congestion for those in search of parking places, and inside security to keep the line moving...the one that's back up outside the store...all 15 of them! It might be too late for some to get the book signed -- they should have set up camp outside the store last night so they'd be the first ones in there tonight.
And that would be perfectly fine. I think if Kate is able to get on a reality show all by herself without filming the kids, then more power to her.
As for her comments regarding the gun, if the police aren't going to press charges, I doubt the family law judge will strip him of custody as he's done nothing illegal. I think Jon will have to show that he keeps his guns properly locked up, which I'm sure he does. But the reality is lots of divorced parents own guns and they still retain custody. I'm not a big gun advocate or anything, I just find it rather amusing how this is being made into a bigger issue then it appears to be.
Quite a few fans still keep asking about Kate's book signing, but she refuses to tell them that tonight is the last one, other than the Baltimore Book Fair and the one in Canada. It's almost like she doesn't want fans there because she's embarrassed that they are going to find out just how few people show up.

I'm telling you that woman is just plain awkward. She greets Katie at her front door and continues to hold on to the banister so as not to be able to fully embrace her guest (as Katie does her). Then at the end of the at home portion of Katie's interview, Kate and Katie are sitting on a small sofa (loveseat?) having wine and her body language is so remote. Leg crossed away from Katie, wine glass in hand closest to Katie creating that barrier. And this after seemingly spending several hours together filming. Awkward from the alpha to the omega.

Saw her pizza recipe on Katie's page. I have never in my life heard of not letter a yeast dough rise, even for a 1/2 hour. There are even recipes or restaurants that rest their dough for 24 hours. Her's goes from the mixer to the the rolling pin. She makes extra work out of a simple pizza sauce. Why not a quick marinara, sauteed onion/garlic w/ olive oil and fresh basil, or italian spices, dash of red wine for some flavor, if you have it. Who on earth even buys garlic salt these days. A head of garlic is 20 cents. I buy spice blends that don't have any salt. Two packets of yeast for 11 cups of flour seem way out of proportion. She must have a huge industrial kitchen aide mixer to use 11 cups of flour. Mine tops out at 8 or 9 cups if not before. I thought she's mentioned using her bread maker for pizza dough. Kate's lips are constantly pursed and it's getting worse. Anyone else notice that? Not a good look for someone in their 30's. I see that same look on very old, bitter, widows in church. Maybe it's because of her over-sized veneers. I don't know. It really bugs me.
I don't get it. Why does Kate consistently get a break from the media world? She gets interviewed by perfectly respectable journalists, and yet she never gets asked any hardball questions? Why? But what really grates on me is the fact nobody really seems to give Jon a break! Why can't he go on the Today show or Katie Couric and tell his side of the story? We think that's what TFW is talking about when she says that her contract is finally at it's very, very end. Jon was also under a non-compete clause for @ 2 yrs after J&K+8 ended. It's the nature of the business.
Instead of saying she is financially responsible for the children, I wish she would be honest and say she is raising them with the funds received for marketing them since they were babies.
I haven't seen her cookbook but, from what I have read, it appears to be a photo album of the children under the guise of a cookbook. The marketing continues and, the way I see it, the children continue to be self-supporting.
The photographs in the book were shot with huge wide open apertures. 3.0 and lower. Probably 50mm lens and as someone saw from the metadata, a Canon Mark iii which is a 3000 dollar camera. An iphone is downright incapable of producing such quality. Since Kate made it clear Mady is unwilling (stubbornly so) to try an SLR, then we know for a fact Mady didn't take the food photographs and in fact the photographer from upstate NY did. I think Mady took a few of the cell phone "snapshots" used of the family and that's it.
A final OT: To any bored night owls in the hizzouse: If anyone is late to jumping on the Breaking Bad bandwagon, AMC is replaying all the seasons this week starting tonight with season 1. Truly must see tv IMO.

That sounds right to me but like I said the other day, it was pretty stupid to sign a non compete when your money makers cuteness is so important to your brand. By the time the non compete is up they're awkward teens and tweens.
This would be like Dakota Fanning signing a 2 year non compete when she was 9--the peek of her cuteness. That would be one stupid move and if I were her I'd fire whoever told me to do it.

I'm not a dietician, but it's pretty easy to calculate that she is eating around 1000-1200 calories per day; hence, the haggard face with zero fat (maybe she has injected dermal fillers), and the anorexic body.
The other thing too is the only real war out there is between a handful of people who love the fight on twitter. No one else participates in that. The average person commenting, especially those with real facebook names, don't have the slightest idea there is some battle nor would they care I don't think.
I know it's hard for those who love that fight to understand, but most people are just sort of commenting on what they see as they see it. There is no desire to engage in any war with anyone. The desire is to comment with the group on something we have a mutual interest in. Not fight some imaginary battle. That's just like Kate thinking Jon is in some battle with her when he's really not. That battle is all in her head. Every last slash of the sword in her head.

Yesterday and today were perfect, and the rest of the week is expected to be a repeat performance. What fantastic weather. Cloudless blue skies, light breeze, temps in the upper 60s, low 70s, cooling down to low 50s at night. Clear, crisp fall air...perfect football weather, and the smell of fall in the air. I stepped outside tonight and got a whiff of a bonfire somewhere. You just stop, look up at the stars and take it all in.

Easy for her to say when her house is many many yards off the road. Jon's cabin probably has a short driveway accessed by a secluded dirt road. She's in no position to give him safety advice on this. Exactly. Millions upon millions of gun owners have children. Of those, many have had to resort to discharging their weapon and still have their children. Even in a very anti gun liberal area, you're not going to get a judge to come between a gun owner and his legal firearm unless he or she stores it in the crib next to the teddy bear or something. Frankly, it's hard to even get the judge to intervene with an illegal weapon as long as it was kept safe from the children. The courts are busy with irresponsible parents. They don't have time to interfere with responsible ones.
Kate seems to think the courts are here to mess with your ex's life whenever possible. Quite the opposite. Family law courts try to get involved as little as possible. They are mandated by law not to interfere with the family unless absolutely fundamentally necessary, and even then they are mandated to do so with the LEAST RESTRICTIVE means. Think about it, would you want them to have any more power than that? What if it turns around on you?

Have the paparazzi or a stalker ever chased her in her car past her house gate? I didn't think so. Unless she has been in that situation, she has no idea what she would do. She'd probably sit there helplessly peeing her pants frantically trying to dial Steve while they come at her and her children aggressively and if it's a deranged person even hurt them. At least someone appreciates how dangerous people can be. For goodness sake, there have been enough stories about celebrities being chased down and killed you would think this would be common knowledge by now.

Again, no one said the paparazzi was a new thing. What was said was that the paparazzi violating boundaries that the vast majority of them RESPECT and chasing you down on your own property was absolutely a new thing. I have never in my life heard of a paparazzi chasing HER on HER property. Hiding in the corn fields, at the fence, and driving behind her at reasonable speeds, yes. Chasing her down on her private property, absolutely not and I think it's downright insulting to suggest that this sort of behavior is normal for photographers. It is NOT.

Breaking Bad is one of those shows were every second matters. Everything you see has a purpose. It's all there for a reason. It is so meticulously thought out even if you find the characters frustrating at times you always appreciate that you are watching a well laid plan.

The thing she doesn't seem to understand is that say for argument's sake she's absolutely right about what a terrible dangerous man Jon is. Nonetheless, what she doesn't seem to understand is that is irrelevant to the fact that most people see this as just a ploy to stir the pot and get more cookbook sales. And that just makes HER look bad. She doesn't get that most people really aren't interested anymore in all her petty little complaints and that she looks VERY self serving right now. She's barely talking about this book at all. She's talking about her ex.

I live in the County, NH. I used to live on a dirt country road in Dunstabe MA. Then a long dirt driveway with NO TRESPASSING signs. What more does some need? An interpreter? We had guns. Get the hell off my property. The signs also said, THIS MEANS YOU.

I think what TFW is missing here is Jon had no way of knowing if a person coming onto his property aggressively whom he was shouting at repeatedly to stop was truly a paparazzi who meant him no harm, or could have been a deranged person seeking to harm him. He had no way of knowing, period.
This really isn't about how to deal with a PAP. This is about how to deal with a fluid situation with an unknown person where you have no idea what's happening next or who could be hurt how. All you know is that you're telling them to stop and they won't stop and they're on your private property and aren't backing down. For all you know, next they've hurt you, your children or worse. THAT'S what this is about.

O/T I have fond memories of Paramus. I spent two summers with my grandparents in North Jersey, once as a tween and once in high school. My aunt used to go to Paramus mall. Not that the mall is a fond memory but it ties into the whole experience.

I'm with you on The West Wing - best tv ever. But so is Breaking Bad. The story lines, character development, cinematography, casting - all perfect in both. Just as there was dialogue in WW that was exquisitely composed, the same is true for Breaking Bad. I get goosebumps from both! As Admin says, BB has to be seen from the very, very first second. It's all important and it all has meaning.

We got netflix last week just so that we could watch Breaking Bad. Each and every night we sit in front of the TV eating dinner and watch at least two episodes. I am completely and utterly addicted. It is the best TV show I have ever seen. I have to walk the pug now but will be back in time to watch another episode before bed.
I thought Cara looked like she was just barely tolerating the whole thing. Then she and Kate were arguing about the tug-of-war and it looked like Cara wasn't going to back down from Mommie D.

I wonder if Kate's family law attorney will tell her that it's pointless to try to file for change of custody because Jon has a concealed carry permit and used that weapon when someone trespassed on his property. He did not commit any crime. What he did is 100% legal. So how in the world does she think that will translate into "I now get full custody!"? I'm sure she's burning up the telephone lines leaving messages for her attorney. Now, will he cave and file a motion to amend custody, or will this fizzle just like the alleged class action lawsuit by BV?
I think maybe I've changed my mind about Kate needing some kind of security/protection when she travels -- at least someone to go with her. Tweets like this would scare me:

Again, I got a choppy view of the video, but Collin and Cara may not be as happy happy happy about filming and film crews as Kate wants us to believe.
Remember Collin is he kid who was covering his face, and Cara became very quiet towards the end of the Kate plus 8 show.

Was anyone able to read the sticky notes below each choice? They were too small for me to read on phone. Another odd choice was checking bathrooms after dinner, for what exactly? Don't the bathroom already get cleaned?
The other thing that bugged me were the children having to perform for Katie, if they were her daughters, would she put them on tv & basically humiliate them like that?

Saw the clip from TMC. Did Kate get another recent boob job? Cause in that clip with purseboy, she sure has very large stand up boobs, all of a sudden. Even larger than last year, and she does look as if she had botoxed recently. Remember how she was MIA for a few days recently(month ago), perhaps Kate went for a bigger boob job. LB: Kate has the kids brush their teeth in a small sink in the kitchen. I think that is disgusting, considering that house has 5 bathrooms. Kate also still doles out the food, she does not let the kids pick or serve themselves. She said in one of the interviews, I caught, something about keeping old pics of the kids, when they were little around the house to remind the kids of who they were and how they behave or something like that. I suppose for punishment, she makes them watch old episodes of JK8 & K8, to remind them also of what they had.

For a woman in her late 30s she is incredibly inarticulate and shows no personality whatsoever. For someone who wants to be in entertainment she shows no gift for it at all. Where are the amusing anecdotes of a hectic life with all those kids, the stories of relatives and holidays and school and friends and activities? Um, um, um.
So she finally confessed that TLC was paying her a 7-figure amount of money. I was so surprised to read that, because how in the world can she still act like she has no money after receiving 7-figure amounts? She would not want people to see what kind of huge house she really lives in, just like they never showed the vehicles she owns. Kind of hard to play poor after seeing them. Katie Couric is all washed up, she is no better than a tabloid reporter now, her show is on it's way out, and if she joins The View, well she will fit in well with their style of 'reporting' too. This entire 'book tour' is anything but, just more chances to run Jon down, she does it so often it must be second nature to her by now. No one asks her the hard questions because no one really knows as much as people like us do, here on this awesome blog, the other non-fan blog, as well as the true friends and family of Jon's. I think it is just hard to believe that there is actually any mother out there that mistreats her 8 kids and still abuses her now ex-husband. I mean when you see her, she looks to be quite normal. In order to understand her the way we do, and how Robert does, there is a history that comes with her. A history that most people know nothing about. I have seen it time after time in comments, most people have no idea what they are talking about, because they don't know the whole story. Even though TFW has said that no, Jon did not have an affair on her, many, many people think that he did, and that is why they divorced, because Jon was the cheater, so she deserves everything, while Jon deserves nothing, not even a small amount of respect as his kids' father. This woman blows my mind, and makes my blood boil. How can someone be so awful, but still get everything their heart desires. Besides her coveted T.V. show. I wonder if she believes in her faith anymore, because she sure used to. She must remember that it is better to not know, than to know, and sin anyway. I believe she reads every comment we make here, that is why things we talk about get changed in her life. I hate to say it, but sometimes I think we give her too much help. What better place to read about fixing the things in her life that we think she does so badly, especially to do with the kids. She has sailed by for how many years now? I hope that the good times for her will be ending very soon. Very soon. Sorry for the rant.
The house you see when the front door is open is a reflection of TFW house in the window of a vehicle that is parked there.
I got to see the chore chart when I watched this time around and able to pause.
One girl washes the table; one girls sweeps the floor; one girl rinses out the toothbrushes and cleans the sink; 2 boys clean the upstairs and downstairs living rooms; one boys straightens all the shoes and bookbags and jackets, also the shoes down stairs. All boys must check the bathroom downstairs and next to laundry room.
There is a second list next to this list and I was able to see only the boys names again on 2-3 chores and maybe some of the girls.
It must be the older 2 who get the dusting and vacuuming.
I noticed the young girls were on TFW tug of war team and the boys with Katie. M & C were each on one side.
I am not sure the kids were pulled out of school. Those games were played outside as the sun was setting. Who knows. Didnt someone tweet they saw Kate and the kids at a mcdonald that same day?
One final thought before I go to bed. Honest. I sure do wish that there was a place where those of us who would want to, give Jon little snippets of support, tell him he is doing such a great job with the kids his job, stuff like that, so he knows people care about him and the kids. I do hope he doesn't think TFW is the only one that has support, as small as it may be. And those who don't feel the same way as I do, just skip over this post, don't bother giving me grief over it. I rewatched the field trip segment. I'm sorry but those kids behaved so poorly! Someone must have been whining about being on her team because TFW was spouting "in life you are sometimes put where you don't want to be". Mady says "stop being inspirational. And let me talk". Now my teen can be sassy but I tell her to knock it off. And I don't tout myself as the worlds most perfect mother. Also Mady refused to hulu hoop. And at the egg toss it looks like a girl SPITs at another girl! They seem out of control to me. TFW is in for a shock very soon with the twins. They don't seem to respect her

I still think TFW somehow setup the pap trail on Jon. She can't talk about the lawsuit, so she needed something else to talk about, to drum up interest, and to make her seem like a sympathetic figure. It also explains why TMZ is following this. Why do they care about an ex-reality star who had their height of fame 4 years ago?
She is not an interesting person. Even back when I liked J&K+8, and she did interviews, they were ALWAYS about how organized she was as a mother. She had nothing else going for her. If any of us were ever on a talk show, we'd have things to talk about: things we're interested in, hobbies, activities we've done recently. She does nothing, has no interests, and her only hobby is to try to get attention and make easy money.

Those are just the added summer chores--those kids work pretty darn hard.
What caught my attention was that an "adult" must check the shed. Not Mom? That's a weird thing to put on a laminated chart unless a nameless adult--"the help"--is there every evening in the summer. And it sounds like more than one person comes since she doesn't give a name.
It also smacks of ordering an adult around. That would be part of that 20 hours of help, huh?
I'd like to echo Prairie Mary--you can bet those 20 hours are when the kids are home. Okay, it's summer, sure, but still... During the school year, what does Kate do all day? Why can't she supervise and spend time with her own kids at night? If the kids are working that hard, why is additional help needed? When do they do their homework and play? What the heck does Kate DO besides complain about working too hard on non-existent work?
It sounds to me like the helper(s) and the kids do all the housework. ALL of it.
I had 4 kids close in age--my oldest was 5 when the 4th was born. We homeschooled, so our home was our classroom, too, as well as the art room and lab and playground, year-round. It just isn't necessary to treat a home like a military camp to keep it relatively picked up. Not spotless, but presentable, even with multiple kids.
I can't stand when the media treats her like supermom when she's just superdictator.

Ha! It figures. I don't know if anyone has commented on this, but the boys are on permanent bathroom duty too--their names are typed up, one to a bathroom, on the first chore chart. Kids HATE to clean bathrooms. So of course she's going to stick the icky boys with it. That's a job for a parent anyway if you ask me.
When my kids would come to me and say they were bored, sometimes I'd pretend to mull it over and then say, "Oh, I think there's a potty that needs to be cleaned." They'd suddenly remember pressing business in the playroom...lol.
I agree the chores were sill. Wouldn't the boots and bags be straight alreasy from the after school regimen? And can't each person rinse his/her own toothbrush? Why one paper towel- each brush? Looks like the boys got more chores and we didn't see the twins.' I must say they both seemed a little surly, Cara arguing, and Mady complaining about rope burn and looking sulky on the couch. Yeah, they would LOVE to return to TV.

Amen. And that's so very sad, because the children have the right to move on from the past and move forward with their lives. Their mother is constantly trying to take them back to a period in time that the younger ones barely remember. It's unfair to all of them, emotionally. They have a right to a childhood that looks forward, not backward.

You bring up a good point about "supervision" of Kate. I never thought of that. That could explain the "Not a Nanny" comments from Kate.
As far as her anger toward Jon, some people refuse to get over a spouse or partner leaving them. My BIL left his wife after they had been married for 20+ years. He told her he simply was not in love with her anymore. I never really liked his wife, to be honest. She treated him horribly and had cheated on him several times (one of their children may not even be his).
But when he left her she went all psycho. She stopped eating, she constantly called his family to cry about how awful he was to have left her ect...He eventually started dating and before too long got his girlfriend pregnant. His ex wife would assault the woman whenever she ran into her around town (they live in a small town). Thank God nothing happened to the baby. They have a healthy, sweet baby girl (well she's 3 now not really a baby).
So it's 4 years later and my ex SIL is still trash talking her ex husband to anyone who will listen. She still would try to physically assault my BIL's gf if she ran into her They ended up taking a restraining order out on her but it didn't stop the ex from verbally assaulting the GF when she ran into her at Walmart. (They have since moved out of the town so they don't run into the ex anymore.).
So, I guess my point is that Kate's hostility toward Jon is not uncommon. My ex SIL is still bitter and angry, just like Kate. Some people simply can't let go. My BIL's ex wife didn't want him, but she didn't want anyone else to have him either. I suspect that could be Kate's MO as well. She didn't want Jon anymore, but she hates the fact that he is flourishing without her.
Paula 179...When Bethenny's show had its six week run last year it was filmed in LA. I read somewhere when she filed for divorce, she had the show moved to NY so her husband could see their daughter. However, they are now embroiled in one helluva custody battle. I tried watching her show when it premiered last week and I lasted all of three days. I got bored with it quickly.

Or let me tell you this funny story about this predicament we all got in.

You know, I'm far less worried about those kids being around Jon with a loaded gun, than them being around TFW when she's loaded.
She's seems to have a real mean streak when she's sober so I would hate to think what happens when her temper flares after she's had a few.
If she wants to talk about their safety, ok Kate, let's. Kids can be seriously injured or killed from other things besides guns.
I think Jon's doing this to deflate her sails. And it's working. He's flipped the tables on her and taken away all her power. Normally I don't care for him to make appearances but she poked him enough times she deserves it.

Although I don't like Sherri Shepherd, I remember when she told the story about wanting to get a gun her alarm went off and she thought an intruder was trying to get into her house. So if she's there today, she'll back Jon up. This is what she said in an interview with Fox&Friends:
"We have two dogs and they didn't bark," Shepherd said to the "Fox & Friends" hosts. "And immediately my husband jumped out of bed and ran downstairs. And I ran to my son Jeffrey's room. Kate's book signing tonight is only scheduled to last until about 8pm. Maybe that's what she signed up for. Long stretch of the imagination, but maybe their driving home afterwards? I just don't get the TLC contract stuff, either. Two years ago she was claiming she "needs a job, like yesterday" and whining to Wendy Williams that she had no offers at all. Then months of "wink-wink" and "you just never know!" tweets. She was getting her fans all spun up for nothing? That's just mean! Then, as you said, 18 months ago she declared herself free of TLC. And as for non-competition with TLC, she said many times over the past 2 years that she'd like to take up where K+8 left off. And yes, she did CWS.
Now, after all that, she's suddenly saying she wasn't free to be on another show all that time? What about all the begging, hinting, groveling for a new show? Something smells fishy. I definitely think she's lying. She's been free all this time, and now she's trying to take this opportunity to nudge some network to make an offer. She knows this could be her last chance. After K+8 ended, she did these little media tours every 3 months or so. This time, it's been 7 months (since CWS came out). Shows a definite decline in interest in her. She needs to make "lightning struck" right now. There may not be another chance.

Oh, throngs! As for her comments regarding the gun, if the police aren't going to press charges, I doubt the family law judge will strip him of custody as he's done nothing illegal. I think Jon will have to show that he keeps his guns properly locked up, which I'm sure he does. But the reality is lots of divorced parents own guns and they still retain custody.
I'm not a big gun advocate or anything, I just find it rather amusing how this is being made into a bigger issue then it appears to be.
Quite a few fans still keep asking about Kate's book signing, but she refuses to tell them that tonight is the last one, other than the Baltimore Book Fair and the one in Canada. Saw her pizza recipe on Katie's page. I have never in my life heard of not letter a yeast dough rise, even for a 1/2 hour. There are even recipes or restaurants that rest their dough for 24 hours. Her's goes from the mixer to the the rolling pin. She makes extra work out of a simple pizza sauce. Why not a quick marinara, sauteed onion/garlic w/ olive oil and fresh basil, or italian spices, dash of red wine for some flavor, if you have it. Who on earth even buys garlic salt these days. A head of garlic is 20 cents. I buy spice blends that don't have any salt. Two packets of yeast for 11 cups of flour seem way out of proportion. She must have a huge industrial kitchen aide mixer to use 11 cups of flour. Mine tops out at 8 or 9 cups if not before. I thought she's mentioned using her bread maker for pizza dough. Kate's lips are constantly pursed and it's getting worse. Anyone else notice that? Not a good look for someone in their 30's. I see that same look on very old, bitter, widows in church. Maybe it's because of her over-sized veneers. I don't know. It really bugs me.
I don't get it. Why does Kate consistently get a break from the media world? She gets interviewed by perfectly respectable journalists, and yet she never gets asked any hardball questions? Why? I just don't get it. It's like they totally ignore all the negative comments and twitters; they ignore Robert's book, they basically ignore the internet. I mean all you have to do is type in TFW's name and you'll get tons of material which can be used as research when interviewing her?
It's so frustrating. I've always like Katie Couric, now she's just as bad as the rest of them. Katie, Barbara, even Matt Lauer, they all just let her tell her lies and never call her out on it. Sometimes I think this world has gone crazy.
But what really grates on me is the fact nobody really seems to give Jon a break! Why can't he go on the Today show or Katie Couric and tell his side of the story? Or at the very least, why don't they defend him against Kate's lies. For example, when she says she's the kid's sole supporter, why can't just one of them say "But in all fairness to Jon, he does have a job and provides for them financially when he has has them."
We all say Kate is meeting Karma. But honestly, Kate is like a cockroach or rat. Nothing affects her. Nothing. Just like a cockroach or a rat, she will survive. Dating show? You betcha! She'll probably get a dating show. There are any number of men who will come forward to date Kate. If for no other reason than to get THEIR 15 minutes of fame.
TFW has no talent, absolutely no talent. She's a liar, she's vindictive, she's a parental alientor, she's lazy, she's rude, and she's just plain scary. But you know what? Maybe we should all strive to be that way! Maybe we'll get rewarded with soft-ball interviews on national TV.

Instead of saying she is financially responsible for the children, I wish she would be honest and say she is raising them with the funds received for marketing them since they were babies.
I haven't seen her cookbook but, from what I have read, it appears to be a photo album of the children under the guise of a cookbook. The marketing continues and, the way I see it, the children continue to be self-supporting.

The photographs in the book were shot with huge wide open apertures. 3.0 and lower. Probably 50mm lens and as someone saw from the metadata, a Canon Mark iii which is a 3000 dollar camera. An iphone is downright incapable of producing such quality. Since Kate made it clear Mady is unwilling (stubbornly so) to try an SLR, then we know for a fact Mady didn't take the food photographs and in fact the photographer from upstate NY did. I think Mady took a few of the cell phone "snapshots" used of the family and that's it.

That sounds right to me but like I said the other day, it was pretty stupid to sign a non compete when your money makers cuteness is so important to your brand. By the time the non compete is up they're awkward teens and tweens.

She's not winning it judging by comments from random people. But I agree, who cares. Public opinion is irrelevant to how this is all going to shake out. 99% of what she does public opinion has zero bearing on. She self destructs all on her own, it's fascinating.
Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but you can preview some parts of the book on Amazon. There is a page where Kate "proudly" divulges her daily diet.
I'm not a dietician, but it's pretty easy to calculate that she is eating around 1000-1200 calories per day; hence, the haggard face with zero fat (maybe she has injected dermal fillers), and the anorexic body.
The other thing too is the only real war out there is between a handful of people who love the fight on twitter. No one else participates in that. The average person commenting, especially those with real facebook names, don't have the slightest idea there is some battle nor would they care I don't think.
I know it's hard for those who love that fight to understand, but most people are just sort of commenting on what they see as they see it. There is no desire to engage in any war with anyone. The desire is to comment with the group on something we have a mutual interest in. Not fight some imaginary battle. That's just like Kate thinking Jon is in some battle with her when he's really not. That battle is all in her head. Every last slash of the sword in her head.
I remember reading her diet in the preview and being very alarmed and concerned. Those kind of diets result in people in the hospital or worse.
I second Breaking Bad, give it a try. It is without a doubt the most well written television show I have ever watched in my life.

Exactly. Millions upon millions of gun owners have children. Of those, many have had to resort to discharging their weapon and still have their children. Even in a very anti gun liberal area, you're not going to get a judge to come between a gun owner and his legal firearm unless he or she stores it in the crib next to the teddy bear or something. Frankly, it's hard to even get the judge to intervene with an illegal weapon as long as it was kept safe from the children. The courts are busy with irresponsible parents. They don't have time to interfere with responsible ones.
Kate seems to think the courts are here to mess with your ex's life whenever possible. Quite the opposite. Family law courts try to get involved as little as possible. They are mandated by law not to interfere with the family unless absolutely fundamentally necessary, and even then they are mandated to do so with the LEAST RESTRICTIVE means. Think about it, would you want them to have any more power than that? What if it turns around on you?

Have the paparazzi or a stalker ever chased her in her car past her house gate? I didn't think so. Unless she has been in that situation, she has no idea what she would do. Again, no one said the paparazzi was a new thing. What was said was that the paparazzi violating boundaries that the vast majority of them RESPECT and chasing you down on your own property was absolutely a new thing. I have never in my life heard of a paparazzi chasing HER on HER property. Hiding in the corn fields, at the fence, and driving behind her at reasonable speeds, yes. Chasing her down on her private property, absolutely not and I think it's downright insulting to suggest that this sort of behavior is normal for photographers. It is NOT.

Breaking Bad is one of those shows were every second matters. Everything you see has a purpose. It's all there for a reason. It is so meticulously thought out even if you find the characters frustrating at times you always appreciate that you are watching a well laid plan.

I live in the County, NH. I used to live on a dirt country road in Dunstabe MA. Then a long dirt driveway with NO TRESPASSING signs. What more does some need? An interpreter? We had guns. Get the hell off my property. The signs also said, THIS MEANS YOU.

I think what TFW is missing here is Jon had no way of knowing if a person coming onto his property aggressively whom he was shouting at repeatedly to stop was truly a paparazzi who meant him no harm, or could have been a deranged person seeking to harm him. He had no way of knowing, period.
This really isn't about how to deal with a PAP. This is about how to deal with a fluid situation with an unknown person where you have no idea what's happening next or who could be hurt how. All you know is that you're telling them to stop and they won't stop and they're on your private property and aren't backing down. For all you know, next they've hurt you, your children or worse. THAT'S what this is about.

I'm with you on The West Wing - best tv ever. But so is Breaking Bad. The story lines, character development, cinematography, casting - all perfect in both. Just as there was dialogue in WW that was exquisitely composed, the same is true for Breaking Bad. I get goosebumps from both! As Admin says, BB has to be seen from the very, very first second. It's all important and it all has meaning.

Really though, what else do those kids have to compare it to. It's not like they're out at friend's houses and noticing that other kids don't have a chart full of scheduled chores. This is normal to them. I remember in Jon's recent interview with (I think) that Dad guy he said that he doesn't restrict the kids with so many rules or chores. They basically had to pick up their clothes and not jump on the couch, something like that. I remember thinking he probably did this as a way to balance the overly structured and strict environment they have at TFW's.

So the kids each have 2 chores a night and when asked what, someone said " vacuuming and dusting" those are pretty big nightly chores.
I think what TFW is missing here is Jon had no way of knowing if a person coming onto his property aggressively whom he was shouting at repeatedly to stop was truly a paparazzi who meant him no harm, or could have been a deranged person seeking to harm him. He had no way of knowing, period.

We got netflix last week just so that we could watch Breaking Bad. Each and every night we sit in front of the TV eating dinner and watch at least two episodes. I am completely and utterly addicted. It is the best TV show I have ever seen. I have to walk the pug now but will be back in time to watch another episode before bed.

I wonder if Kate's family law attorney will tell her that it's pointless to try to file for change of custody because Jon has a concealed carry permit and used that weapon when someone trespassed on his property. He did not commit any crime. What he did is 100% legal. So how in the world does she think that will translate into "I now get full custody!"? I'm sure she's burning up the telephone lines leaving messages for her attorney. Now, will he cave and file a motion to amend custody, or will this fizzle just like the alleged class action lawsuit by BV?
I think maybe I've changed my mind about Kate needing some kind of security/protection when she travels -- at least someone to go with her. Tweets like this would scare me:

Again, I got a choppy view of the video, but Collin and Cara may not be as happy happy happy about filming and film crews as Kate wants us to believe.
Remember Collin is he kid who was covering his face, and Cara became very quiet towards the end of the Kate plus 8 show.
Jon also said that he will have the phone and be talking to kate who will say " this kid wants this" and Jon will say back, " the kid is right here and that is not what he/she is telling me".
Kate is desperately holding onto that former life and may go to any length to try and keep it afloat. She doesnt even realize she is hurting

I think there is a very real battle that Kate is in with Jon and it is the battle for control of custody of the children with the intent to continue to film them. Kate must be discouraged from pursuing the BV lawsuit against Jon and Robert since receiving the response from their respected legal teams. She seems to be now hoping to use this "saftey" issue regarding guns and Jon to wrench the children away from him so that she can continue to film.
She is so pathetic, this whole crook book was all a front to relaunch her back into reality TV since her contract with TLC is now officially over. The only "huge interest" that exists to put Kate back on TV is her own interest. This seems to be the only thing she wants-to be a star.
I have 2 questions.
On the choice list shown on Katie, it lists one that doesn't make sense at all. It's to rinse toothbrushes & clean sink after dinner. What the heck does it mean to rinse everyone's toothbrushes? That is really yucky & what is the purpose behind that? I swear she is thinking up things that has nothing to do with running a house. I certain don't go around rinsing my family's toothbrushes! Was anyone able to read the sticky notes below each choice? They were too small for me to read on phone. Another odd choice was checking bathrooms after dinner, for what exactly? Don't the bathroom already get cleaned?
The other thing that bugged me were the children having to perform for Katie, if they were her daughters, would she put them on tv & basically humiliate them like that?
Also I think the pizzas are the same size I make at home. She is seen taking one out of the oven. I think they are really 15', not 19'

I agree. Some of those responding on TMZ believe that Jon should be required to keep the gun in a locked box when his children are with him. They don't seem to realize that when the children are with him is when he should have his weapon on him. The time it would take Jon to get the lock box and open it to retrieve his weapon could be the difference between life and death.
Wow. Saw clips of Katie on the website. Lost lots of respect for her. In the Kate at home video, notice the pic of the outside of "Kate's house" a modest, small home. Why not show the McMansion? Why show a small home and pretend? Kate was as shrill to kids as always. Complaining constantly "woe is me", snapping at kids. In the games (and they clearly filmed during the day so kids DID miss school) kate was nasty to her kids when they lost. (And one child had whiny fit) .

Saw the clip from TMC. Did Kate get another recent boob job? Cause in that clip with purseboy, she sure has very large stand up boobs, all of a sudden. Even larger than last year, and she does look as if she had botoxed recently. Remember how she was MIA for a few days recently(month ago), perhaps Kate went for a bigger boob job. Even if Kate lost weight, her boobs would not stand up or be that big, unless she had a boob job recently.

LB: Kate has the kids brush their teeth in a small sink in the kitchen. I think that is disgusting, considering that house has 5 bathrooms. Kate also still doles out the food, she does not let the kids pick or serve themselves. She said in one of the interviews, I caught, something about keeping old pics of the kids, when they were little around the house to remind the kids of who they were and how they behave or something like that. I suppose for punishment, she makes them watch old episodes of JK8 & K8, to remind them also of what they had.

So she finally confessed that TLC was paying her a 7-figure amount of money. I was so surprised to read that, because how in the world can she still act like she has no money after receiving 7-figure amounts? She would not want people to see what kind of huge house she really lives in, just like they never showed the vehicles she owns. Kind of hard to play poor after seeing them. Katie Couric is all washed up, she is no better than a tabloid reporter now, her show is on it's way out, and if she joins The View, well she will fit in well with their style of 'reporting' too. This entire 'book tour' is anything but, just more chances to run Jon down, she does it so often it must be second nature to her by now. No one asks her the hard questions because no one really knows as much as people like us do, here on this awesome blog, the other non-fan blog, as well as the true friends and family of Jon's. I think it is just hard to believe that there is actually any mother out there that mistreats her 8 kids and still abuses her now ex-husband. I mean when you see her, she looks to be quite normal. In order to understand her the way we do, and how Robert does, there is a history that comes with her. A history that most people know nothing about. I have seen it time after time in comments, most people have no idea what they are talking about, because they don't know the whole story. Even though TFW has said that no, Jon did not have an affair on her, many, many people think that he did, and that is why they divorced, because Jon was the cheater, so she deserves everything, while Jon deserves nothing, not even a small amount of respect as his kids' father. This woman blows my mind, and makes my blood boil. How can someone be so awful, but still get everything their heart desires. Besides her coveted T.V. show. I wonder if she believes in her faith anymore, because she sure used to. She must remember that it is better to not know, than to know, and sin anyway. I believe she reads every comment we make here, that is why things we talk about get changed in her life. I hate to say it, but sometimes I think we give her too much help. What better place to read about fixing the things in her life that we think she does so badly, especially to do with the kids. She has sailed by for how many years now? The house you see when the front door is open is a reflection of TFW house in the window of a vehicle that is parked there.
I got to see the chore chart when I watched this time around and able to pause.
One girl washes the table; one girls sweeps the floor; one girl rinses out the toothbrushes and cleans the sink; 2 boys clean the upstairs and downstairs living rooms; one boys straightens all the shoes and bookbags and jackets, also the shoes down stairs. All boys must check the bathroom downstairs and next to laundry room.
There is a second list next to this list and I was able to see only the boys names again on 2-3 chores and maybe some of the girls.
It must be the older 2 who get the dusting and vacuuming.
I noticed the young girls were on TFW tug of war team and the boys with Katie. M & C were each on one side.
I am not sure the kids were pulled out of school. Those games were played outside as the sun was setting. Who knows. Didnt someone tweet they saw Kate and the kids at a mcdonald that same day?
And if the 8 kids have 2 chores to do each night, including vacuuming and dusting, then WTH does the hired help do for 20 hours every week??

I rewatched the field trip segment. I'm sorry but those kids behaved so poorly! I still think TFW somehow setup the pap trail on Jon. She can't talk about the lawsuit, so she needed something else to talk about, to drum up interest, and to make her seem like a sympathetic figure. It also explains why TMZ is following this. Why do they care about an ex-reality star who had their height of fame 4 years ago?
She is not an interesting person. Even back when I liked J&K+8, and she did interviews, they were ALWAYS about how organized she was as a mother. She had nothing else going for her. If any of us were ever on a talk show, we'd have things to talk about: things we're interested in, hobbies, activities we've done recently. She does nothing, has no interests, and her only hobby is to try to get attention and make easy money.

Those are just the added summer chores--those kids work pretty darn hard.
What caught my attention was that an "adult" must check the shed. Not Mom? That's a weird thing to put on a laminated chart unless a nameless adult--"the help"--is there every evening in the summer. And it sounds like more than one person comes since she doesn't give a name.
It also smacks of ordering an adult around. That would be part of that 20 hours of help, huh?
I'd like to echo Prairie Mary--you can bet those 20 hours are when the kids are home. Okay, it's summer, sure, but still... During the school year, what does Kate do all day? Why can't she supervise and spend time with her own kids at night? If the kids are working that hard, why is additional help needed? When do they do their homework and play? What the heck does Kate DO besides complain about working too hard on non-existent work?
It sounds to me like the helper(s) and the kids do all the housework. ALL of it.
I had 4 kids close in age--my oldest was 5 when the 4th was born. We homeschooled, so our home was our classroom, too, as well as the art room and lab and playground, year-round. It just isn't necessary to treat a home like a military camp to keep it relatively picked up. Not spotless, but presentable, even with multiple kids.
I can't stand when the media treats her like supermom when she's just superdictator.

Ha! It figures. I don't know if anyone has commented on this, but the boys are on permanent bathroom duty too--their names are typed up, one to a bathroom, on the first chore chart. Kids HATE to clean bathrooms. So of course she's going to stick the icky boys with it. That's a job for a parent anyway if you ask me.
When my kids would come to me and say they were bored, sometimes I'd pretend to mull it over and then say, "Oh, I think there's a potty that needs to be cleaned." They'd suddenly remember pressing business in the playroom...lol.

From what she written in her journal and how she trashes their father and other family members I wouldn't respect her either.
I agree the chores were sill. Wouldn't the boots and bags be straight alreasy from the after school regimen? And can't each person rinse his/her own toothbrush? Why one paper towel- each brush? Looks like the boys got more chores and we didn't see the twins.' I must say they both seemed a little surly, Cara arguing, and Mady complaining about rope burn and looking sulky on the couch. Yeah, they would LOVE to return to TV.

It's a though Kate and the children are idling in some sort of limbo, floating immobilized and aimlessly in space until some invisible hand reaches in and sweeps them back in front of cameras, when they will be set into motion once again.

Amen. And that's so very sad, because the children have the right to move on from the past and move forward with their lives. Their mother is constantly trying to take them back to a period in time that the younger ones barely remember. It's unfair to all of them, emotionally. They have a right to a childhood that looks forward, not backward.

How do we know if that 20-hour-a-week babysitter/nanny isn't a court-ordered supervision while Kate has the kids?
Why is she still so angry with Jon after four years and if she's not getting any more than these sporatic gigs on tv, why would she need "help" with nine-year-olds and 12 almost 13 year olds, aside from the fact that she's bone lazy,of course. Something seems off about that.

You bring up a good point about "supervision" of Kate. I never thought of that. That could explain the "Not a Nanny" comments from Kate.
As far as her anger toward Jon, some people refuse to get over a spouse or partner leaving them. My BIL left his wife after they had been married for 20+ years. He told her he simply was not in love with her anymore. I never really liked his wife, to be honest. She treated him horribly and had cheated on him several times (one of their children may not even be his).
But when he left her she went all psycho. She stopped eating, she constantly called his family to cry about how awful he was to have left her ect...He eventually started dating and before too long got his girlfriend pregnant. His ex wife would assault the woman whenever she ran into her around town (they live in a small town). Thank God nothing happened to the baby. They have a healthy, sweet baby girl (well she's 3 now not really a baby).
So it's 4 years later and my ex SIL is still trash talking her ex husband to anyone who will listen. She still would try to physically assault my BIL's gf if she ran into her They ended up taking a restraining order out on her but it didn't stop the ex from verbally assaulting the GF when she ran into her at Walmart. (They have since moved out of the town so they don't run into the ex anymore.).
So, I guess my point is that Kate's hostility toward Jon is not uncommon. My ex SIL is still bitter and angry, just like Kate. Some people simply can't let go. My BIL's ex wife didn't want him, but she didn't want anyone else to have him either. I suspect that could be Kate's MO as well. She didn't want Jon anymore, but she hates the fact that he is flourishing without her.
Paula 179...When Bethenny's show had its six week run last year it was filmed in LA. I read somewhere when she filed for divorce, she had the show moved to NY so her husband could see their daughter. However, they are now embroiled in one helluva custody battle. I tried watching her show when it premiered last week and I lasted all of three days. I got bored with it quickly.
Yeah for Jon for being on The View. I'll set the DVR.

It kills me when Kate says "for the safety of my kids"...You want your kids to be safe? Keep them off TV and live a private life! People will forget they exist, and creepy stalkers will lose interest.

Virtually every other celebrity who chooses to talk about their children and life come prepared with a new little funny or cute story to tell. Rumor has it some just make these up, but the point is, you need a new and fresh batch of talking points each and every time you go out there to keep things fresh. I have never ever ever heard TFW go on one of these shows and say well the funniest thing happened with Alexis the other day! Or Cara did this and it was so great! Or let me tell you this funny story about this predicament we all got in.
It's just Jon, me, No comment, me, I want a new show, me, the kids miss filming, me.
She needs stories and she needs new talking points. You could substitute any interview for any period of time and it's the same thing. That's not good.

I hope so! This is getting good! After all the bashing via the lawsuit the first day (which Jon can't respond to), and all the bashing via the gun incident yesterday, I hope he responds, and I hope he comes across well!

I think what TFW is missing here is Jon had no way of knowing if a person coming onto his property aggressively whom he was shouting at repeatedly to stop was truly a paparazzi who meant him no harm, or could have been a deranged person seeking to harm him. He had no way of knowing, period.

So the way to deal with a "deranged person" is to lead them TO your property, get out of your vehicle and confront them, fire off a "warning" shot and THEN follow the person in your vehicle? Yeah, I'm sure that's what every law enforcement officer would recommend.
Everyone has to make their own decision in that moment what is best. Hindsight is 20/20. He could not have known what that person was going to do and given her brazen behavior anything was up for grabs.
Lead them to his property? He was driving home from work. He could not legally remove his weapon until he was on his private property. So no, he couldn't do much until then legally speaking. I also think he probably thought once he got to his private drive they would stop following him. He was sorely mistaken. Law enforcement recommends lots of things that have gotten people killed. They can only recommend what usually works--they cannot promise it will ALWAYS work. There is no right way to handle a situation like this that guarantees you will be safe each and every time.
Darn it. Won't be able to watch The View today. Hope Jon does well and really does set the record straight.

Wow, that sounds like shades of Betty Broderick.
You know, I'm far less worried about those kids being around Jon with a loaded gun, than them being around TFW when she's loaded.
She's seems to have a real mean streak when she's sober so I would hate to think what happens when her temper flares after she's had a few.
If she wants to talk about their safety, ok Kate, let's. Kids can be seriously injured or killed from other things besides guns.
I think Jon's doing this to deflate her sails. And it's working. He's flipped the tables on her and taken away all her power. Normally I don't care for him to make appearances but she poked him enough times she deserves it.
Don't go around trashing him every which way to Sunday and expect him not to respond.
For instance, Kate recommends running to your house and closing the door.
I can provide Kate with 5,000 examples of people in emergencies who ran to their house, closed their door, and were subsequently killed.
So is her way the right way? No, it's just one way to handle it that may or may not work.
Although I don't like Sherri Shepherd, I remember when she told the story about wanting to get a gun her alarm went off and she thought an intruder was trying to get into her house. So if she's there today, she'll back Jon up. This is what she said in an interview with Fox&Friends:
"We have two dogs and they didn't bark," Shepherd said to the "Fox & Friends" hosts. "And immediately my husband jumped out of bed and ran downstairs. And I ran to my son Jeffrey's room. And I never wanted a gun in my house but the sight of my son laying there saying, 'Mommy I'm scared.' That's when you realize all you got is a wicker trash basket between me and anybody that comes in this room. And it was a scary thought."
The only person that disagreed with Sherri was BW. Hope she's not there today.
Someone on twitter suggested it might be a call-in interview rather than a sit-down one. I'll be watching and will report back.

I don't think Jon has ever been on the View. Kate must be seething that Jon will be talking to her "friends" there.
