Kate on Hallmark's 'Home & Family'

Kate's popped up in listings both Friday and Monday. Check local listings.

P.S. that owl cheese ball is pretty darn adorable.

I guess we can't expect Kate to clarify when she's going to be on.....

Carezee said... 2

Okay folks I am watching Home and Family. Of course Kate had to show up late to the show. She wasn't there when they first introduced her but showed up as they were getting ready for commercial. I will keep you up to date on what happens.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 3

What? She was late?? How unprofessional.

And my favorite (very useful)...6% off 3-day Siem Reap Tour: Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, Bayon and Tonle Sap

These are on the front page of her website!!! Seriously, how many people would find these useful? What a ridiculous site, but par for the course for TFW.
******
At first I thought the coupon website was a turnkey operation because no way did she cobble it together, what with all her computer skills.
I'm talking about Steve.
Just kidding!
I soon changed my mind when I saw how little she was promoting it and how she never once updated the site itself.
The website appears to be nothing more than a business arrangement between a company and a semi-famous face, whose name gets a bit of buzz on the net.

Layla said... 5

Late, huh? Her TV skills are going downhill (if that's even possible). She breaks out in hives, shows up late, and that red dress shown above does not look appropriate for this type of show. Not good.

swimgirl said... 6

Watching the show and I am trying hard to not throw up! So many lies... Kids have tvs in their room and watch the dvds of the show all the time.

Talked about cooking while the crew was there and how she fed them after the cameras stopped rolling. She fed them or Kraft services fed them? Also, crackers, grapes and cheese does not count as cooking.

Kids really, really, really miss the crew! One just asked about them the other day.

Constant use of the word, honestly, and many uummms.

Why would she not promote her appearance? Other celebrities understand that twitter is used for promotion. Honestly, she is just so lazy!

Sheri said... 7

I've never heard of the Hallmark Network, not sure we get it up here...not that I'd watch...just sayin'. ;) Will wait for a recap.

On another note, I've been catching up over at gosselinbook and I just have to say Wow to how many people, particularly locals, had Kate's number almost a decade ago.

She has left a mass of hard feelings and disdain in her wake. What boggles is just how little Kate seems to care about this.

Anyone with an ounce of introspective ability would stop and question all the hard feelings toward them.

But not Kate, nope, she just prattles along insisting that once people get to know her, they love her. That those who don't like her are simply ignorant to the reality of the ray of sunshine Kate truly is.

Delusional doesn't even begin to describe it.

FYI said... 8

Kate is on today's show and she is going to cook meatloaf!! Yay!

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 9

How do you end up being late exactly? It's too early for much traffic since she probably had to be in the makeup chair at least by 6 am. And it's three hours behind so it's already 10 o'clock for her biological clock. So weird and disrespectful.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 10

Kraft services are a requirement for most production unions. I guess she could have fed them too but kraft services would have had to have been on set each and every time.

swimgirl said... 11

Kate just advised us to buy our ground beef fresh! Who knew?!

Carezee said... 12

OMG can she not put a sentence together? I am so sick of the same thing over and over. Of course everyone is normal because the viewers said they were mean like her. She said that she fed the crew and feeds anyone who walks in the door. She talked about how her kids still miss the crew. Of course they watch their old shows every night. Really they still watch the old shows? She said she helps people going through divorce. She talked to them in words that are age appropriate. She always tell them when she is living that she will always come back. She doesn't say anything ugly about Jon because just because you aren't with that person anymore he is still in their family. (I paraphrased that part.) Of course she has brought copies of her book for everyone. She is making her meat loaf recipe. Basically Mark said something about how she takes recipes and just makes bigger recipes out of them. Of course her kids passed this recipe a million percent. she makes her own bread crumbs at home . She puts "a bunch of catsup in it" Her best secret is Sunday-Wednesday she makes bigger meals so Thursday she can have leftovers and the makes up menus for them.

Oh GOD!!! She is coming back on Monday!!! She needs to tell all about being a single mom and answer some Facebook Questions!!! I hope to heck she isn't trying for a job on that show. It is my favorite and I hate that she is ruining it for me.

Tucker's Mom said... 13

Meatloaf again? How lazy! She's been demonstrating that ambiguous recipe for years now.
Holy heck, it's Thanksgiving menu planning time. What about meatloaf could sell her book at the High Holy Days of the Holidays?
This is *the* time to push cookbooks because it's gift-buying season.
What a miss!
Hopefully she clarifies the ingredient amounts and baking time. Oh, and I hope Kate has heard of a food thermometer all these years later.

This recipe makes 10 servings.
Ingredients
2 pounds organic ground beef
2 to 3 eggs
3/4 to 1 cup celery, finely chopped, I use food processor on pulse
3/4 to 1 cup onion, finely chopped, I use food processor on pulse
3/4 to 1 cup green pepper, finely chopped, I use food processor on pulse
3/4 to 1 cup carrots, finely chopped, I use food processor on pulse
About 1 1/2 to 2 cups breadcrumbs (Italian seasoned if on hand. Otherwise, plain works too), may need more breadcrumbs depending on the consistency of the meatloaf
3/4 cup Parmesan cheese (shredded or grated)
1/4 to 1/2 cup ketchup.
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic salt
Cooking Directions
Mix all the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl and divide equally into two separate meat loaves. Add a squirt of ketchup to the top of each in a zig-zaggy design. I cover with foil and bake in either a meatloaf pan or a glass bread baking dish at 350 degrees for about an hour (depending on oven) or until bubbly and center is no longer pink.
During the last 15 minutes or so, I remove foil covering and finish baking uncovered.
When there's leftovers (usually I have about half a loaf left over) I put a slice between wholegrain bread with some mayo and ketchup swirled together (a la French dressing!), and a slice of lettuce and tomato too for a delicious meatloaf sandwich for the next day!
Yummy!
Recipe courtesy of Kate Gosselin.

Fat chance, really. The FB page is mostly people saying they'll skip the show or fast forward.
I really don't know how telling her kids that she'll always return makes them miss her any less when she's out galavanting. I've always thought that very odd.

chefsummer #Leh said... 15

Kate's on now and she is so skinny.

She looks even skinnier than last time and of course she's talking like a teenager but her face look pretty.

And it's still the same old crap Q&A and she didn't even tell what was in her meat loaf lol.

She said don't say mean things about your former partner-(right Kate right eyeroll).

Carezee said... 16

Someone asked Kate if you can freeze meatloaf. She said if you use fresh meat. Or you can freeze after cooking. She couldn't just say yes.She said it stays together once you make the loaf. HA HA it fell apart as she tried to put it in the pan. Mark told her that there was glue in the garage. She told him to go and get it. I don't think she was too happy that it didn't stay together. It was a huge meatloaf and she said she has to make 2 for her kids. I am sorry but what she made looked like plenty to feed those kids.

I hope she is gone for the rest of this show. I don't know if I could stand another

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 17

Fresh beef? As opposed to beef with maggots crawling all over it? As far as I know the only offerings my grocery has are fresh beef. I've never seen a bunch of frozen beef in the store unless it's preformed patties.

Jon is still in the family??? Well that's a new one. I thought it was "the nine" for the past four years. Sounds like she heard the criticism about how she's marginalized him. She is the LAST person who should be helping anyone through a divorce. As far as I'm concerned the way she handled this divorce was about as unhealthy and unstable and dysfunctional for her children as possible.

Tucker's Mom said... 18

I hope someone (or many people) on FB respond to the show and tell them how ridiculous it is for Kate to give any advice on post divorce co-parenting.
By her very own admission, she and Jon do NOT co-parent and DO NOT EVEN SPEAK TO ONE ANOTHER.
Four years later!
This is nothing short of epic failure.
If anything, Kate is the cautionary tale and what NOT to do!

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 19

Did she provide any tips like if it's not staying together it probably needs another egg? Elementary cooking tips here.

getofftwitter said... 20

Ok, just saw Kate, well she does seem like she is real happy(of course, a mini vacation included). But, Kate was tryin to change history, like, they talked about the divorce, and Kate said I never put Jon down, and some other stuff. Then I don't know any kids who constantly watch old film/video of themselves(brain washing). And yes the ummm, honestly crap. mostly the same old song & dance BS. Tell me who lets their hair hang in their face when cooking/mixing? Kate contradicted herself by using the chopping machine to chop her food, she said the kids help chop in kitchen. And she is going to be on mondays show to answer questions. Which don't make sense, cause this show is a 2 hour show. Kate squeezed another day. They do tape the day before. Kate does look as if she had some botox, her eyebrows, look like deer in the lights. Most of what she said was BS.

Carezee said... 21

Admin she didn't actually say Jon's name . She said so many viewers wondered how she handled the divorce with the children. Someone must be telling her what to say because we know she has done nothing but throw him under the bus for years. Plus she did kind of throw him under the bus when she said she tells the kids that she will always come back.

getofftwitter said... 22

Sherri: Don't forget people are jellus of her.

Carezee said... 23

Kate did not even tell us the amounts of things the temp or really anything that would help you make the meatloaf. Usually on that show they show you how to make it and put it in the oven and pull out one that is finished. They didn't do it with hers. I am sure she really didn't make the one they gave the others to eat. She had on latex gloves and was mixing by hand. Someone said they had a latex allergy and would that get into the meatloaf. She told him no but she uses plastic gloves at home.

Tucker's Mom said... 24

For instance, if Kate was upset by Jon's choice of words on the OWN show, she should have picked up the damn phone and called him.
Kate should have PRIVATELY asked Jon to clarify his statements and if she thought he needed to correct his message and amend some things he said, they could craft a message together.
After all, Jon wound up doing this rather swiftly anyway, so why not just communicate how you feel and ask Jon to clarify what could be taken as negative?
It's such a joke. The jig is up. I can not understand how moms out there worship her. They KNOW how hard it is to raise kids, doing it without help, yet somehow they doubt themselves, put themselves down and elevated Kate to some vaunted, archetypal Madonna of a mom.
Common sense and intuition would tell any woman (or man/ Dad) that Kate does not do all she claims to do. Never has, never will, yet they fall for the hype.
The irony is that Kate wants to be the expert who teaches you how to do it all, when she is the very one who tricked you into thinking that somehow, you're coming up short in comparison in the fist place.
Sort of malicious, isn't it?

&&&&

Good heavens, I would hope the kids know she'll return. As opposed to she'll run off on them?? Yikes!

How about telling them that some jobs especially T.V. ones are in L.A. and Mommy wants to go on T.V. so she has to go to L.A. today but you'll be with daddy like usual this weekend and then the nanny you love and before you know it I'll be back. Kids understand that. Why do people patronize kids so? I saw how a parent told their kids she was going out of town (nearly every week, it was constant) and it was very matter of fact. Mommy has to go work in X town and Mommy will be back on this date. X and X will stay with you and Mommy will call every night. I won't be at this baseball game, but I will be at the next one. Just level with them. The kids took it fine. They had learned to expect it.

I haven't seen her cookbook, I only about what snippets I've read here about the recipes, but in my thinking, she "created" (cough) a cookbook that feeds large portions for large families. Fine, but couldn't she have produced smaller portion sizes for the masses that don't have large families?

IMHO I wouldn't even look at her cookbook, primarily because it's from her, but even if I didn't know who she was, just the amount of food that is in that book would turn me off. We are a small family (hubby, Mom-who lives with us- and me) so we would never make meals that size. I would assume that most families are not as big as Kate's so she is really marketing that book to a small dymanic in the public.

Seriously, again on Monday? Squeezed a real little vacay for herself out of this one. Meat loaf? How does she even have leftovers when she starts out with 2 lbs of 'organic' (hah-hah) ground beef to feed 8 growing children. And yes, meat loaf at holiday time? She should go up against the kid chef Jack who could show her a whole lot of real cooking. Meat loaf with a squiggle of ketchup, oh please.

The kids miss the crew? They watch the show on DVD every night? Not that I believe her, but if at all true, very sick to be stuck in the past. Not normal IMHO. Of course, also not true.

getofftwitter said... 31

Hey, what is this non-sense about Joel, not liking ketchup or sauce? What about any dish with sauce in it? Sloppy Joels? Tucker's Mom said... 34

I don't believe those kids want to watch themselves every night. If they do, there's something not right in GosselinLand.
Oh, please, the kids wouldn't be able to pick a crew member out of a line up at this point.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 35

Kate should have PRIVATELY asked Jon to clarify his statements and if she thought he needed to correct his message and amend some things he said, they could craft a message together.

&&&

This is the thing that gets me about this. If as a mother someone expressed such serious concerns about your children, shouldn't your first reaction be to talk to them and get to the bottom of that? Shouldn't your reaction be, oh my gosh that's not what I see, what does he know that I'm not seeing? Are they behaving differently for him? What am I missing here??? Are my children okay??

Instead she immediately goes to a place where Jon is lying. She doesn't even consider that there might be a problem that she is overlooking that the children might desperately need help with. Her hatred of Jon is so deep she will completely overlook a potential problem and the help they may need just to prove to herself he is a liar.

Agree, she can only speak to Jon via text. Her divorce is an utter FAILURE. She should get help for her own divorce before she even begins to instruct others.

It was probably a bad idea to do a cookbook for large families since so few families are large however if she wanted to she could do that but then do sort of a split page, here is the large family recipe, here is the small family recipe right next to it. The theme could be no matter your family size we can all make delicious food if we try. Done and done.

Just a minor note but I'm not sure she really is aware of how much of America is eating now. Loafs are not nearly as popular as they used to be. It's all fresh now, lean proteins, raw salads, deconstructed things. I realize where she is from some people still eat like this, but I have never seen meatloaf out here. I think a big problem with her food is she is stuck in a time warp while the rest of America is moving forward. Her cooking is dated. And that's fine for her own purposes whatever makes your tummy happy, but in terms of putting out a cookbook to the masses, a lot of people are going to be confused and scratching their heads, and likely turned off over these compilations.

Anonymous said... 36

So, the recipe makes enough for 10 servings (two pounds of ground beef), yet she has half left over. Then she says she makes two, for the kids. Huh? So the eight kids each get 1 oz of meat or 8 oz? Math is not my strong suit. A little help here?

PJ

Kate talked about how she dealt with the kids about the divorce. She said "Don't say ugly, negative things, just because you're not married doesn't mean it's not their parent. You don't have to agree on what they decided to do or how they've changed. For the kids it's important that they are free to love both of you equally and not feel like they have to choose. I never wanted them to feel like they had to choose."

What a bunch of crap!! Maybe she doesn't talk that way to the children, but how many times has she publicly thrown Jon under the bus? She even had to respond to his OWN interview on a public website.

Oh, and let's not forget she's suing the man about whom she says to not talk ugly, or negative about!

Seems like that whole segment was damage control.

It is very easy to scale recipes such as meatloaf up and down. Very easy.
I prefer free form meatloaf baked on a pan, so I can make it as big or small as I want. Easy peasy.
After all these years, Kate still plays the "cooking for 8 kids" card. It should be wrote by now, just like how it is.
As Jon says, it's just what he's used to. 8 sandwiches? OK, done. Next?
Throw a bunch of hot dogs and burgers on the grill? Done. Next?
The drama, the drama.

I've been confused by the drama for years. Isn't cooking for those kids not that much different than just having people over? The only thing you need to do differently is cook MORE food. Why is this so hard? Who hasn't cooked for a big group at some point?

Instead of throwing four hotdogs on, you throw on 12. What am I missing.

And this chopping the veggies in a processor, to almost puree, Kate your kids are not babies anymore, they are 9 & 13. They should be past that baby age, and eat veggies as vegetables, not near puree. If you have to do that , at least have them drink V8.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 45

Shouldn't the kids be doing schoolwork or reading or doing an art project in the evenings instead of watching themselves on DVD? That just doesn't sound healthy. It sounds rather self absorbed and indulgent, look at US! Even if they wanted to watch themselves over and over, shouldn't you as a mother gently guide them to more productive activities in the evenings? Or heaven forbid shut the TV off during the week like many families do.

Carezee said... 46

getofftwitter I totally agree with you. I felt like she was not happy about the glue remark that was made. I wonder who made the meatloaf that was shared with the others. I sincerely hope it's not true Orange. Does she not see just how unhealthy that sounds? The idea that these kids spend every night before going to sleep watching videos of themselves as toddlers and preschoolers...that's just so warped.

Is it just me or did any one else run away screaming when Mom and Dad would pull out the ol' projector to show a visiting friend or relative the home movies of us at the beach, the apple orchard or cutting down a Christmas tree?

The woman just has absolutely no sense of anything beyond her own desperation to sit in a make up chair, to be filmed and to be talked about.

And she's dragging 8 innocent little children along for the ride. I sure do hope this train wreck derails before she can do anymore damage to those kids' psyches.

getofftwitter said... 49

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said... 50

If they must watch TV every night I wish they would watch a few minutes of something educational. Maybe some age appropriate current events? 60 Minutes has many good age appropriate segments. Something that teaches them the world is a much bigger place than Gosselinland.

Tucker's Mom - I do the free form meatloaf also but I put mine on a foil covered rack over the pan so that the meatloaf doesn't sit in it's own grease. I poke holes in the foil so the grease drains. I've also found that if I saute the vegetables (onion, celery, etc) before adding to the meat it makes for a better meatloaf. Also, I use a pound of ground beef and a pound of ground veal. I divide it in half and freeze half (wrapped tightly in saran wrap and then foil) labeled as "ready to cook" meatloaf. We've never had any problems with thawing and cooking it.

Two things TFW said really stood out to me with regard to this interview. First, she said just last week one of the kids said they missed the crew. I found that sad, if true, that almost 2 1/2 years since the crew left the kids miss the crew. They shouldn't have time to miss anyone as they should be involved in activities, school and hanging out with their friends. The other thing she said, and I find this one disturbing, is that the kids watch DVD's of their show all the time. She said she heard one of the kids crying and she was concerned until the child said, "I'm just watching our show." What a way to stunt a child's mental growth. TFW sees the kids as they were on the show and not as they are now. If the tups still talk like toddlers as TFW claims they do, I can see why. They need to stop watching their show. She not only lives in the past but she has the kids doing it as well.

Someone on HCI's FB page asked if Kate would be doing any more book tour stops and they replied:

HCI Books - The Life Issues Publisher None are planned at the moment, but we will let you know if any get scheduled!

Kate talked about how she dealt with the kids about the divorce. She said "Don't say ugly, negative things, just because you're not married doesn't mean it's not their parent. "
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Right, just say ugly mean things while you're married to the person, not after the divorce. Is that what she is saying? She called Jon every nasty name she could think of while they were married and filming, "fat", "bald", "lazy", "stupid" ect....

Carezee said... 67

Now she is part of someone elses craft project. She never even heard of modge podge. She looks like she is trying to get some kind of show. I don't think she really cares what. I can't believe shows are still putting her on. And why 2 days on this show? She already answered what ever questions they needed to ask and she made her meatloaf. What more could she possibly have to say?

OrangeCrusher1 said... 68

My morning laugh: she wakes up in the middle of the night to write down recipes she just thought of. Did she really say that with a straight face? ALL of her recipes are cribbed from other sources, not an original thought anywhere. And hey, she's in LA and no one has invited her to the Grove for an Extra interview? Have they reserved her table at Nobu? No airport pap pics of her and Skeeve? Flying under the radar for sure.

I didn't watch this show, but TFW's been making her basic meatloaf recipe for years. I remember her segment on GMA and TFW stating that Jon loved her meatloaf. Of all her recipes she made meatloaf that her ex husband loved. She definitely has problems moving on. As an aside, I'm not a good cook, but even I can make a decent
meatloaf and have tried several variations over the years. And if she's going to be on again Monday, then she is paying for another extended weekend away from her kids with Steve. Doesn't Steve have more important people to be guarding with his employment with TLC or better yet, why would he spend all this time with TFW away from his family? Maybe Monday's show is prerecorded, otherwise TFW and Steve appear to me that there is still more going on than just a platonic or business relationship.

Someone above mentioned this particular show pre-records on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If that is the case, then she most likely filmed her segments for today and Monday last night. Thanks to all who watched, I just can't.

Yeah, Jon had to sit on the floor and wait with the other children while she demonstrated her meatloaf, which was already prepared in various steps for her. If someone had slipped into a coma watching that seven years ago and just come out of it now, they would already be caught up. The woman hasn't expanded her culinary knowledge OR her vocabulary.

Too bad she didn't make Sloppy Joels. One of the hosts could have had the pleasure of smearing sauce all over her face for authenticity.

Funny story. Dad would show a cartoon or two before loading a reel of the family, usually to family and close friends.
Remember the rack of lights, bigger than a 10-point buck's antlers? Everyone would squint at the camera like their retinas were burning!
Dad (or mom?) filmed one Christmas and we showed it for years. One of my cousins had a major Seinfeld moment, picking her nose.
Nope, not a scratch. Definitely a pick!
All of us kids would tease her mercilessly and she'd want to crawl under the couch. And that was just us kids!

S & C, all the cooks they have on there I don't remember them ever having taking questions during cooking. Perhaps this is a new thing with Kate(setting the story or cooking straight thing).
*******
I also think this Q&A while cooking is pre-arranged and a way to deflect Kate's inability to carry a cooking segment on her own. I think talking about herself is her comfort zone and I'm sure all questions are established in advance.
If I had a left nut, I'd give it to do a cooking segment on the Today Show, and there's Kate, ass on couch NOT COOKING for a cookbook segment.

Remember, this cookbook was set to be released in 2009, which means that many of these recipes were written in 2008 or before, when the kids were babies.
If you extrapolate on that, you can understand why the kids were infantalized in the book's photos. The narrative is stuck back when the kids were toddlers.

I've been confused by the drama for years. Isn't cooking for those kids not that much different than just having people over? The only thing you need to do differently is cook MORE food. Why is this so hard? Who hasn't cooked for a big group at some point?
*****
I grew up in a family of 10 (8 kids, 2 parents). Of course, they built up slowly. Still, it wasn't a huge deal to cook for all of us. As a parent and as a child learning to cook, you figured out how to make a meal large enough to feed everyone at the table, plus maybe even have leftovers. We did a lot of family style meals, like spaghetti with garlic bread and tossed salad; various cassaroles; yes, meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans; pot roasts; taco night, etc.

In fact, my mom said she really had difficult scaling DOWN the size of her meals, as children left the nest.

I think I'm going to add my disappointment to the Home and Family FB page about having Kate on at all, much less twice. Simply ridiculous.

When Mark asked if she had to double or triple recipes, she failed to mention all her recipes in her book feeds 10 and the consumer has to figure out a normal family size. Mine have televisions in their rooms, they are very slim children, very physically active, sleep like logs and are the least-stressed kids you've even seen - very laid back, come what may. Of course, they don't sit in there every minute watching the tube, maybe only an hour or so before bedtime and some Saturday mornings. Assuming she actually was "late" (guests aren't usually brought on and then they go straight to commercial, so I have my doubts), that would most likely be a crew error, not something "weird and disrespectful" on Kate's part. Admin,
If this is not appropriate for me to post, I understand.

Even back then they had personal chef. Did Kate do any cooking?

**From Julie's blog (Aunt Jodi's sister), October 2008**
Do They Have Any Help?

Answer: A cleaning lady comes every other week, and a young woman occasionally helps with errands. Beyond that, "this is my personal chef," says Jon of Kate, "my personal housekeeper too."

The Truth: They have a cleaning service AND someone who also does spot cleaning/organizing in between. They have someone who irons and puts away their laundry. Jon has said that Jenny is on the payroll for 30 hrs/week to help with the kids and errands. If they don't have a personal chef, then I wonder who prepared the dinner that my parents ate (leftovers)when they were watching Jodi's kids when she was traveling for the show? Why were they told that the meal was prepared by their personal chef? Who made and delivered the food when Jodi and Kevin were watching the kids while J&K were away for the hair plugs? Who prepares a weeks worth of meals and delivers them along with wine and fresh cut flowers? Who brings bags of groceries/produce from the whole foods store?

As I said before, why not just be honest about the amount of help that they have? Or even say nothing. Why pretend that they do it all alone? Why pretend that they clip coupons, use layaway and save up for special outings? Why try to make people believe they are just a normal family who is struggling to get by? So the viewers can relate to them? I would venture to guess that most of the viewers have never had cosmetic procedures and the number of outings/vacations that we have seen over the last year. I'd guess that most of the viewers wouldn't be shopping for property worth well over a million dollars.

As I said before, being a mother of twin and sextuplets would be a piece of cake if you didn't have to do any of the things that most mothers do. And now, just because Kate is the mother of 8, that makes her an expert on cooking and organizing? I have yet to see an original recipe or organizing idea from her. What a joke!

So sorry about the post about Amanda Bynes the other day. I normally check the dates on these articles, but I forgot. Will try to do better next time.

Do you think kate is really mad at Joel for some reason right now? The smeared SJS on his face and saying she had a lot of ketchup kids and some didn't, but THREW JOEL under the bus because he was ANTI-KETCHUP! And ANTI-DESSERT. Poor kid, abused for having potty accidents, picked him up by the hair of his head, beat with the wooden spoon into his crib, screamed at him that they do not live like dogs and now this humiliation of having Very Sloppy Joel Sauce spread all over the lower part of his face, forced to smile for the camera, and his peers are not going to say anything about it?

UGH! UGH! UGH! SMH She is not a mother, she is a monster.

It was sickening to see kate chowing down on the cheese balls, which are so cute and to die for, I thought I am surprised that she is eating cheese at all with all that tonnage of cheese she has at home.

And I figured she would say, Where's my SALAD, WOODY!!!

Forgot to mention, to glaze my meatloaf I use Tabasco, cider vinegar, brown sugar and Sweet Baby Ray's honey Chipolte BBQ sauce. Mix them all together and heat to reduce. You don't really need measurements on this because it's a "to taste" glaze but it would be about a cup of BBQ sauce, a couple of t's of Tabasco, a splash of vinegar and a just stick your hand in the brown sugar and grab some. Add more Tabasco and brown sugar "to taste".

Assuming she actually was "late" (guests aren't usually brought on and then they go straight to commercial, so I have my doubts), that would most likely be a crew error, not something "weird and disrespectful" on Kate's part. The guests don't just wander around waiting to go on camera.

====

Maybe she was parking her broom in the utility closet?

Tucker's Mom said... 148

The crew and family was fed by Craft (sp?) services. I remember the chicken coop episode, "Home Roost"? Kate kept on popping in and out during filming, leaving all the kids with Henry and the crew. She said she had to go back in for her "lunchly duties".
Translation- She has to mastermind and oversea the food crew. If you just look at what was served for lunch, no way in heck Kate put that spread together, right down to the huge bowl of fruit salad.
The big seafood feast in the Outer Banks? Brought to them.
The fish dinner after the deep sea fishing fiasco? Nope, Kate didn't prepare that either.

This is not about the cookbook. The cookbook was about Kate looking for an opportunity to put herself back in the makeup/hair chair and get a camera on her face. She can't/won't make an effort to sell/promote anything but herself. She is that self involved and thus that stupid. 5 minutes here, 5 minutes there - this is not a career, but she is still delusional enough to think the Kate Show is just around the corner. No brand, no talent, just a bloated self-vision.

You know the producer was doing damage control. Kate was a bitch on wheels for the filming of that episode. Her vitriol was oozing out of her pores.
She's making how much $$ an episode and was like "sorry, not my thing, I'm going to hide in my house away from the cameras and Jon can do it all".
Even though Jon was not even living in that house and the marriage was over.
This Old House's Steve gave her props for making the cookies, but you could tell his heart wasn't in it.
In fact when I think about the "confessionals" done by the shows' guests (organizing woman, white water rafting man etc, Steve from This Old House), no one ever seemed genuinely impressed with Kate.
The all sounded like they were hedging and being prompted.
"Well, she's not Lord Voldemort, so there's that..."

I watched TFW's segment on Home and Family when it come on at 10:00 this morning but turned the TV off when TFW's segment was done and DVR'd the rest of the show. I just finished watching the whole show. They had a segment on three twenty something women who have a website called Zoom Interiors, which specializes in budget decorating. These three young women were polished, well spoken, talented and put TFW to shame. When they spoke, the didn't say umm every other word. I was impressed with them. The cheese lady was rather talented as well but other than that I have to say I thought the show was rather boring. They had a woman on who did a segment on organizing makeup and she was doing craft projects for storing your makeup that I thought were more suited for children and not adult women. I was also curious as to how much makeup do women have that storage is an issue. I wear makeup every day and I've never had a storage issue. I guess I don't wear enough of it. TFW was participating in this segment and she was cooing about how much fun it was. Please.

Re: Kids watching TV in their rooms, didn't TFW once say that her kids don't really watch TV? That they'd rather play together or outside? She was doing her holier-than-thou-mom thing, as I recall.
I wonder if one of the reasons the kids seem to act so much younger is because they are constantly watching themselves as toddler, perhaps identifying with their little-kid selves. They see the cutesy little people who say babyish things, they're reminded that those are the G kids people really liked, and they parrot what they think people will like to see. You know they get their mom's approval for it.
TFW is still pretending they are toddlers. Saying that she tells them she will be back..at their ages, they should be able to handle her leaving, especially since she does it so often. But she acts like they are 3-year-olds with separation anxiety. My DH has to travel a lot for his work, and he just says, "'Bye, kids, see you Friday!" And the kids don't fret, it's just "'Bye, Dad!". No stress, no fuss. He doesn't need to reassure them that he will be back because he always comes back. It's expected. Why would TFW's think their mother isn't coming back? Something's not right there.

Kate always say the crew were family and when the show ended the crew would still visit and keep in touch? Well, I want an answer to that. How many times, if any, has one or more of the crew stopped by to see the kids. Name the person's first name, Kate. My guess is nobody from the crew has flown out to visit the kids. And I doubt they call or write them either.

And how can Kate criticize Jon's comments on the OWN interview and then say she never speaks negatively about the kids father? Get it, she doesn't.

Hey, maybe why Kate was late, she fell in, while taking a dump! You Kate has always pulled that late crap.
Tucker Mom: I think your right, back to 2009, Kate stuck in time loop. Which only proves, she made very little changes to the original cookbook, she was to publish back in 2009. The only changes were to add a few more recipes, and some more pics of the kids and change the cover pic.

Kate was on the Today Show last month. She wasted her book tour appearance there yapping about the lawsuit and how she must protect her kids from Jon.
Kate spent very little time talking about the book. You'd never have gotten the gist of the book either, from that segment.
She should have insisted on doing a cooking segment, which is a REALLY SWEET thing to score, and par for the course when someone is a guest to discuss their cooking.
Opportunity blown.
I really wonder if Kate was too nervous to attempt to carry a cooking segment from beginning to end.
It's quick. It's rushed. There's a lot to do and usually, more than once dish is featured.
You have to be able to clearly explain what your doing, prep EVERYTHING in advance, and get to the complete dish, all while you kibitz with the hosts and involve them in the segment.
Not an easy thing to do, but come one, after 7 years or more of making tv appearances and bragging about playing "food show" in her kitchen with the kids and let's not forget, Kate's self-proclaimed "gift of gab", it should be something Kate could do by now.

Then there's the RV trip where she DID cook a chicken over an open fire and turned it into charcoal, then insisted everyone tell her she should cook that more often. They obliged knowing they'd all be severely punished if they disagreed. And then there was the time she undercooked the chicken on the barbeque, fed it to her kids and told them not to eat the pink meat. She doesn't have a clue.

I took a big swig of 100 Proof Rumspringa and watched the lying liar on that clip. She didn't actually say she fed the crew, she implied she did. She said when filming stopped "they served up". She has this lying thing down to a fine science.

I don't get the Hallmark channel but love all your reviews. She did such a great job today, she's ready for her own um um show don't ya know. Did she really not put any eggs in meatloaf? With her gazillion eggs? Of course one of he sheep never puts eggs in her meatloaf. And really 2 lbs of meet and 2 cups of bread crumbs? Talk about filler. Reminds me of the story my husband tells of living w/ his brothers in college and one of them made meatloaf but used oatmeal in place of bread crumbs = maple flavored oatmeal. It wasn't a big hit, even for college students.

All the talk of cheese ball reminds me of one my mom used to make at Christmas time, and I've been making too. I'm craving it now, with triscuits. Cream cheese, blue cheese, a container of wisepride processed cheddar cheese, table spoon grated onion, some worcester, Beat it up w/ a hand mixer, add in some chopped pecans and fresh chopped parsley. Chill. Then roll it into balls or logs, and roll in mixture of chopped parsley and pecans. Yummy. Sorry Kate, I actually used fresh parsley. (Sorry to bore you guys with the recipe).

How much can they pay to be on one of these shows? Any idea can imagine it being over 1K? And for a 5 minute segment would they really pay her and Steve's airfare and hotel, meals etc? Plus the extra nanny fees? Guess this working trip is more about a tax off than actual income or a little pool time. But the joke is on her. LA is barely 10 degrees warmer this weekend than PA and looks like showers vs sun. It's very warm in the east coast for this time of year.

I'm a sucker for those darn Christmas movies. Some, though, seem to all run with the same theme -- divorced or widowed mom, struggling to raise her children, gets a temp job somewhere and falls for the son of the boss, but she doesn't know that he's wealthy. Ex spouse or boyfriend threatens their romance, but everything turns out sunshine and roses in the end.

However, there are some that I watch year after year, such as The Timepiece (James Earl Jones) and its sequel, The Christmas Box; Fallen Angel (Gary Sinise) and The Christmas Visitor (William Devane). All excellent and worth watching. I also like the original Walton's pilot -- "The Homecoming" with Patricia Neal.
