Another child actor is all grown up and joining the long list of former child stars disclosing all was not as cheery as it seemed. Karen Dotrice won hearts as Jane in the 1963 film ‘Mary Poppins. The brilliant Sherman brothers’ song “The Perfect Nanny,” in which Jane reads an advertisement describing the kind of caretaker any child would long for, is particularly sweet (and funny).
“If I’d had my way, I’d still never have done any of those films, because kids should be kids. They should be doing their homework, or outside riding horses. They should be learning and growing at their own pace – and learning things at the right time, rather than when it’s convenient for others. It’s just not normal for a child to have that kind of focus on them and then trot off into life thinking that everyone’s going to pamper them and treat them as if they’re ‘special’. The fact is that if you’re living in a Justin Bieberesque type world surrounded by a bunch of yes people, the odds are you’re going to struggle in later life. That’s why I’ve never really wanted any of my children to become child actors like me. I’ve seen a lot of my peers go through terrible times and have to deal with all sorts of demons.”
Thank you, Karen for your insight.

If he did drink and drive, he could have seriously hurt or killed someone. It wasn't just wrong, it was criminal. If he wants to drink, he needs to stay home or get a designated driver like all responsible adults do.

I think it has been pointed out that the author of that article does not make it clear as to the timing and sequence of the drinks Jon had. Was it three drinks in the period of one hour and then he got behind the wheel? Was it two drinks one night, over a period of hours, as they talked? Etc.
I had a margarita with a beer chaser yesterday afternoon while at a friend's house. During that time, I also had some chips and dip, a piece of candy, then an enchilada with beans and rice. After that, I drove home. This occurred over a period of 5 hours. Technically, I drank then drove, but I am sure I was well under the legal limit.
It is not illegal or immoral to have a drink or two and then drive, IF other factors are involved, such as length of time between drinks, how slowly you consumed them, whether you had something to eat or other non-alcoholic beverages afterward, etc.
I strongly disagree with anyone who is legally drunk and then gets behind the wheel of a car. If Jon did that, he was wrong. But I don't have all the facts, so I cannot tell if that's what he did, or if he merely was out at a bar, had a couple of drinks over the course of an evening, and then drove home while under the legal limit for blood alcohol.
As to neighbors, parents, children at the kids' school learning of this interview - that presumes they even give a darn about Jon or Kate Gosselin and follow this dreary saga. We are in a very tiny segment of the population here who does still pay attention. Most people don't care.

This is the tone the fans are all taking. Sigh. I don't agree with all Jon's choices, but seriously?

Ha! And that's the BETTER parent of the two.
I also call BS on Jon's explanation for why he and Liz did VH1's Couples Therapy. If you can't afford therapy, you can certainly find a therapist that will charge on a sliding scale, so, nice try, Jon.
On the one hand, Jon practically brags about getting $20K in therapy, and now he can't afford it at all?
Have these people no jobs? No insurance?
Gah!
Why can't we just agree that neither one has not exactly set the greatest examples for these kids all the time? Is it pride?

IDK what it is Admin. No matter what Kate does they'll never admit that she's not perfect or deserving at least of the behavior. I used to think they knew the truth but were defending her simply because they refused to give in to the haters and acknowledge they might be right. Now I'm not so sure they see anything wrong with her. And, that's scary and appalling.
Agree Millicent. One thing the author did mention is they sat down and shared a full meal together. Jon even brought out something special from the kitchen. Eating a big meal or any meal has a significant impact on whether a few drinks will affect your senses in any manner. If I have one drink on an empty stomach I feel it. But two drinks even three with a meal and I don't feel a thing. Time is the big factor. His weight and gender also play a role, and more in favor of a few drinks not impairing him. There are no hard and fast rules for how one or more drinks will affect a person but we can get a pretty good sense based on those factors.
Why is TFW's #1 fan bringing up scripture in her slamming of Jon? Judging by the tweets we saw from TFW last week, Christmas is all about wrapping and tearing and shrieking and squealing. Christian Kate

************************
Untrue. While the exact timing is unknown, it is very clear that all the drinks were on the same night and the sequence is specified. He said they arrived at the second bar five minutes after leaving Jon's place of employment. He had two whiskeys at bar #1 and a beer and shot at bar #2. Whether that occurred within 1 hour, 2 hours, etc. we do not know, but to state that he may have only had two drinks on the one night is patently false.

Even more laughable is that the sheep have NOOOOOOO qualms with this reporter!!! No siree!! If this guy is claiming that Jon drank and drove, peed on his friend's driveway and called Kate an a-hole, than he's a legitimate journalist in their book! But when Jon did the Dad's Roundtable interview, which was a more toned piece, they were flocking around that guy like the flying monkeys.. ready to attack at any minute. Just like Kate hates Jon more than she loves her children... the sheeple hate us more than they love Kate. They don't care about her and they certainly don't care about the kids. For them, they only care about winning. Sad thing is, there's nothing to win.
The article jumps around, starting off talking about one night then skipping ahead 10 days to something else. Then it actually jumps back to the same night he was talking about in the first place. I had to read it a few times to be sure I got the time frame right. Speaks to a poor writer. It's not unreasonable to be confused when the writer chose to jump around to different days like that. This all occurred over a long overview of Gosselin history, which I skipped, further confusing things.

@Spar_kle_Girl @MY_2BCOLLIES @Kateplusmy8 Thank God the Gs gave Kate as the stable , example setting, morally upright parent 2guide them!

Guess old Milo missed that morally upright episode of a drunken Kate in a NYC bar with the foot-licking jerk, and the ensuing hangover.
Whether that occurred within 1 hour, 2 hours, etc. we do not know, but to state that he may have only had two drinks on the one night is patently false.
----------
It might be "patently false" if one believed the author's account, but with the way he jumps around, who knows what was done when and in what time frame?
I think what is bothering many here is not the fact that Jon had a few drinks, smoked, cursed and whatever, but that he did it during an interview when he should have been on his best behavior. It's one thing for a guy to bar-hop with buddies, smoke a few, let the F-bomb drop and if you have to take a leak, you gotta go when you gotta go.
However, when you know that you are being interviewed, the reporter is a stranger and not a hail-fellow-well-met buddy you meet up with on a Saturday night, you clean up your language, you don't loosen your lips at a bar, and you don't pee wherever and whenever the spirit moves you. There's often a time and place for everything, and Jon must have known that this would get into the media. There's such a thing as restraint...you choose your words wisely (this means that you don't call you ex-spouse an a^^hole even if she is one and the world knows it)...and you think about what kind of example this is setting for your kids when it's put out in the media.

Okay Milo - I don't post on Twitter but please take your anti-psychotic meds asp! Kate is as much as a part of the problem, more so in many ways, on a frequent basis. Jon is being criticized but that CERTAINLY DOES NOT EXCUSE KATE'S BAD BEHAVIOR AND CHOICES okay.
If you are simply a Kate fan, who repeatedly ignores all of her bad behavior, that's fine. You surely do not stand up for the best interest of the kids and never did.
At least this site has always made the kids the priority. Shame on you Milo- your are a horrible example of looking out for the G8 - you know - the 8 kids that have to live with these 2! Hang your head in shame, as you should.
Over and out you nailed it. It does lean sanctimonious to judge the behavior itself especially with such little information about it. How do they explain it when Kate was clocked at 85 mph and got how many speeding tickets? That was setting a good example for her kids? Sheeple, that was documented. Look it up. I guess they say the police report was faked and it never happened, or the cop just plain lied.
Hey, sheep, what about that lawsuit...why did Kate drop it? She was pretty darn insistent on her blog that it was done for the safety of the kids. Doesn't their safety matter anymore? I guess not, since she dismissed the suit. What are the sheeple saying about that? Let me guess...they are pretending it never happened.
They will defend her to the ends of the earth or stick their fingers in their ears and ignore everything, except when it comes to slamming Jon every chance they get. I've never seen anything like it. The hypocrisy is unbelievable, and their lack of logical thinking is pathetic.
So Jon is an alcoholic because his face is red? I guess, then, that with Santa's rosy cheeks, he needs to go to an AA meeting, too.

--------------------------------------------------------
The author did starts the piece by saying it was the end of Jon's Friday night shift and cattily noticing that by 10:00 pm there were only 7 or 8 others at the bar. So although ambiguous, that's a bit of a time frame. And since we're relying solely upon deduction (because the interviewer was more concerned with being clever than correct) the author also never states the sizes of the whiskey drinks Jon pours for himself.

I feel I should be taking notes as I read..I did, in the end,jot down some names and numbers. Carole, thanks so much for the full notation for the article. My notes refer to Snowbird, tweet 152, Starz22, Somewhere in time, Bitchy pants ..#40. Many others too, but no time to go back. Anyway, in particular, I concur with Starz....Who among us is perfect. Certainly not I. Let's not forget that Jon was more or less roped into parenthood, at a very young age...fertility drugs gave him the twins, and he balked at more fertility drugs which gave him the sextuplets. TFW forced him, ruled him, hounded him from the get go and it spiralled from there. She was after the fame; I don't think he was. And all from soon after his 22nd birthday. He was saddled, had a job @ which TFW hounded him, came home and worked some more. We all saw what he did, how he coped despite everything. She booted him out, he went wild, and why should he be blamed for that? He'd never lived without the full weight of responsibility, without constant derision, heck, he couldn't even go out to lunch when he was at work. He had no free time at all. I'm asking a question...because he bought, or rented the NYC apt, and the car, is that the reason he has no money? Is that why he lives @the poverty level, while she(who must be obeyed) lives in the lap of luxury? And then, further down the road, he ends up with Liz and her kids! The responsibility keeps growing. I could get into the story of my brother, who was cheated on by his wife, but he was awarded custody. He never lashed out, because of the kids. About 3 years later, he ended up in a common law situation with a girl with 2 kids. Very difficult, especially because she was nice to his..that ended...he paid to get her out, then 2 years later ended up with a monster. They now have 2 kids, 16 & 20. His every moment is watched and controlled. He's never lashed out...he's becoming more and more depressed. I think he should rail against it, but he keeps stuffing it.
Jon is not yet in his mid 30's. Younger than my son, who is single, no responsibility except for himself.
As for the driving on the back roads, I think that was prudent. Jon knows the roads, knew there would be no traffic.
And note, TFW is being advised by the sheeple to launch yet another suit. Why did Jon let her off the hook? And what about Robert?
I could wax on forever..
He's penniless, TRULY piecing and patching. He needs $!
I'm done (for now) end of rant.

We spent more than a decade in Germany while DH was in the service, and I saw plenty of public urination during that time. Outside beer tents, by the side of the road...wherever there wasn't a restroom handy, they just made do. In Korea, too, it was nothing to see a man on the street unzip and relieve himself on the road or sidewalk. Perhaps that's why they always take their shoes off when they enter their houses.
Come to think of it, Jon is half Korean, so perhaps we can chalk it up to cultural differences.
Personally, I smell a PR stunt designed to draw viewers to the new show. Watch the celebrity news sites, I bet in the next couple of days there'll be more salacious stories about other participants.

But there ARE trees on back roads, fences, and sharp curves. We have just as many accidents on back roads as we do in areas with traffic...not to mention that lanes and hidden driveways are good hiding places for police cars! Of course, at this point it's not even known if he was driving under the influence.

True. but I think the discussion about what Kate did results from the hypocrisy of the sheeple. They see Kate as a saint, the upstanding, moral example of motherhood, and Jon is the low-life scum bag. Most of us don't give Kate the benefit of the doubt because she lies so much. Some of us aren't giving Jon the benefit of the doubt either because he's told a few 'stories' as well.
Says he wants a private life; promptly does a bunch of interviews and a trashy reality show.
Says he wants to do DWTS and beat Kate's placement of fifth; then says he turned DWTS down.
Says he wants his kids to live a private life; goes on Oprah and tells millions that they have problems with morals.
Says he's not interested in 'brands'; gives an interview talking explicitly about his brand.
I'm sure there's more.

And excuse me, but I am going to start about drinking and driving. The article did NOT make it clear to me that he had too much to drink in one night.

I am also one that refuses to get myself worked into an absolute accusatory snit over a badly written interview with Jon Gosselin....a man I'm continuing to give the benefit of the doubt.
And don't even start with me on drinking and driving. The article makes it CLEAR that he had too much to drink in ONE night.

I totally disagree. I am the first to be outraged when people drive drunk. But, when they are DRUNK. I am not outraged if someone is a responsible drinker. I am a responsible drinker, and I associate with responsible drinkers. I don't get drunk, and I know my body and how much alcohol is too much. Again, for being male and his height and weight, not even factoring in the time it took to consume the drinks, it's highly unlikely he was impaired. With all do respect to Jon, he's a big guy. A person that size can take the drinks. I'm a normal sized woman and even I wouldn't be remotely plastered on what he drank, especially if consumed with a meal over the course of an evening. I'd probably have to wait an hour or two before driving, but I am half Jon's size and a woman.
Where is the outrage against the reporter, who is a grown man and could have called 911or took his keys? Instead he happily followed along behind the drunk and continued his reporting? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
Now I absolutely think he should probably abstain from all alcohol given his history, but he is a grown man and if he wants to take a drink or two he can and if he wants to drive he can as long as he stays under the legal limit. If you think no one should drive after drinking even if under .08, then your beef is with PA legislatures, not Jon.
Jon's driving record, like Kate's, is also public record. And there is not a DUI to be had in the 20 odd years he's been driving and been a drinker. A few run of the mill parking tickets and I think a couple for speeding like many a parent has, and that's it.
If you think no one should drive after drinking even if under .08, then your beef is with PA legislatures, not Jon.
________________
Please don't misunderstand me. My beef is 100% with Jon. I'm teaching my own child that drinking and driving is bad. If I then had a couple drinks and got behind the wheel, what kind of message is that sending him? It's like Jon forgets that 8 pairs of eyes are taking notes.
I'm far from a perfect parent but I do know right from wrong. Laws or no laws.
I also quit smoking when I got pregnant and thankfully haven't picked it up again. That's another terrible thing to teach a child. Do as I say, not as I do. If that's sanctimonious, then I'm guilty of it.
As a parent, you just do not do certain things. No one said being a parent is easy. You just suck it up and DO it.
I too think that this interview may be a PR stunt to draw eyes to the show. Too coincidental that the interview was done a while ago but is only coming out now. At the end of the show Jon will have a revelation as to what a jerk he's been and apologize.
I am also one that refuses to get myself worked into an absolute accusatory snit over a badly written interview with Jon Gosselin....
*************************************
I've read more than one accusatory snit about Kate from you, so we know you're capable, Remona! :)
I tend to agree with GG. Jon may not be up to Liar Status yet but he's certainly up to Hypocrite Level.
What a maroon! (and a world)
Given the tone of the article, doesn't anyone think that the reporter/author of the article would have had an even more sensational story if he had "had to take Jon's keys"?
I didn't read the whole article on Jon, sounds pretty bad, but, who is to say that's it's 100% what came out of his mouth and the reporter isn't enhancing for publicity's sake? I agree that drunk driving is not to be tolerated. But if he had a drink or shot and drove a few hours later, it's no big deal, and if he's not "on the clock" he's not drinking while working.
Another thought, during the holidays he could be extra emotional about not having the time and/or money that he wants to have to be able to spoil his kids. It's obvious that Kate buys their love and is feeling very guilty over her past abuse. She continues to buy the twins with extravagances, because they do remember the abuse on them or on what the witnessed on the little kids.
Remona I'm pretty much with you on this. I missed where the reporter described the classic signs of intoxication in Jon: balance issues, slurred speech, laughing for no reason, red watery eyes, driving recklessly, slow movements? Huh? None of that was described. How was it clear he had too much to drink? Don't you think this particular reporter would be the first to point it out if he was drunk? He pointed everything else out.
My opinion remains. It's not the behavior itself, it's doing it for the reporters. That is uncalled for, selfish and rude to his family, friends and supporters, and trashed a reputation he had done well rebuilding. And if it's part of a publicity stunt, that's almost worse, because it means he's willing to do anything for a little publicity, even trash his reputation and risk embarrassing his children. And that's sad.
The behavior itself--it's a free country. If you want to drink, piss, have sex and swear, you can, and no one can stop you. They may sneer and Bible thump, but they can't stop you. And I agree that you'd be surprised how common this behavior is. We are a surprisingly uncouth country, I suppose it goes back to our roots and detesting the formality of England. I'm willing to bet Kate pulls her weight in the uncouth department too, she just has the good sense to try to keep it quiet.
Fortunately, if the judge has concerns he can intervene. Yet the judge didn't even take away his gun. He just said get a safe. Fair enough. If Jon is such a terrible parent, there's a judge involved who can intervene. I would think if the judge were seriously concerned, the first thing he would do is take his gun, which he has every power to do. The judge can also easily order alcohol testing or an alcohol program if he is concerned. He has not, or Jon is in serious violation. Further, the judge could order monitored visits or a do not drive order as to the children, and again, he has not.
KFI today was a fill in for John and Ken, the best show on radio, but he had something interesting to say about Miley Cirus. He said she has handlers and a PR team and this whole new sexy act is just that, an act. She knows exactly what she is doing. She is just being controversial because it makes her buckets of money. It makes me think that the vast majority of controversial plays in the media are just stunts. And yet we sit here and are outraged every time, I'm guilty of it too. It's like we've learned nothing. I think even a lot of Kate's behavior is just a stunt. She is a master at the whole "who, little ole me?" routine. I think she knows exactly what she is doing. For one, I think part of the reason she has blabbed on and on about how awful Jon is and never stopped is because she knows the controversy gets people talking and paying attention to her. Incredibly sad, yet admittedly rather shrewd. I guess if it is satisfying to these celebs to be a media joker who plays with people's emotions to make a buck, go for it. Most people would not feel good about that.
A quick personal story....close family friend was a town councilman. Great guy, heart of gold, did a great job. He was arrested for public urination. It occurred in a park over his lunch break. He wasn't trying to be a jerk or crude, he is a diabetic and suddenly had to go and was concerned that he wouldn't make it to a restroom. Rather than go back to the office with wet pants, he went. He got caught. He had to resign. His career in local politics was tarnished forever, he has not been back. I don't know, I just find this sad. He's a good man who could have done a lot of good for our town. It's a little urine, it's not the end of the world. And yet, it was for him.

abby, when you're right, you're right. I have had more than one accusatory snit about WOS, and I may have more about TFMJG but my quote was that I wasn't going to get worked up into one over this ''badly written interview'' with Jon Gosselin, not that I have never had an accusatory snit at all.
Greedy and that's a good choice for your family. But there are plenty of parents who have a few drinks and drive home later in the evening. I know many of them. I don't think they are by default bad people or bad parents. Perhaps they are also teaching their child the value of restraint. That a strict no tolerance policy isn't realistic for all people, and that there are ways to indulge within reason without also putting yourself or others in danger. For instance if you're going to go out and drink and drive yourself home, make sure you are eating a substantial meal, make sure you wait a long time after your last drink, make sure you know how many drinks impair you, etc.
There is more than one way for good parents to handle alcohol. No tolerance isn't going to work for all families and all kids. I'd rather people learn how to be responsible with things like alcohol, or smoking, or marijuana, or food, or sex, or cursing, or ANY vice, rather than try to adhere to a no tolerance policy that they can't possibly live up to.
For the record I grew up in a completely dry household. That was right for our family. But at the same time, I think it made me overly curious about alcohol. It had been built up at this big forbidden fruit I was admittedly quite curious about when I moved out to go to college. Fortunately I didn't have the time or money in college to overindulge and am thankful I never had issues with it, but I don't know, had I had the time and money? I'm not sure what could have happened. But my household today is not alcohol free and likely never will be, and I will drive after a drink if it's been a reasonable amount of time such that there is no impairment, and I have nothing to apologize for about that.
On the flip side what did Kate teach the kids about alcohol? That it's okay to leave your children behind crying and wailing for you to go out and get drunk in the big city? Jon's never been seen bar hopping on his custodial time, he appears to keep that part of his life separate from them. I have more respect for that than a parent who looks their crying child in the eye and says they're going to abandon them for the weekend to go get sloshed. And she made margaritas in FRONT OF THEM. If anything, maybe the kids are learning from Jon that when you are with your children, it is 100% about your children. If you want to go drink or whatever, fine, but don't do it when you are with your kids.
At the end of the show Jon will have a revelation as to what a jerk he's been and apologize.
Ha ha! Yeah, he will! For the 211th time. *rolling eyes*
I guess if Jon doesn't like getting 'picked apart' and 'dissected', he should have stayed 'private'.
Given the tone of the article, doesn't anyone think that the reporter/author of the article would have had an even more sensational story if he had "had to take Jon's keys"?
&&&
Oh yes, if Jon were drunk he would have said so, no question. Oh he would have gloated about that for three paragraphs.

Oh, Goody, Goody, Goody. The lawsuit was dropped because it didn't stand a snowball's chance of succeeding and she knew it. Her complaint was written like a fifth grader put it together. Non-fans don't even bother asking -- they know exactly why it was dropped!
I'm glad Santa left the sheeple an extra present and they're having a good time with it. Let them have their joy, for being a Kate fan is thankless and joyless. Since they believe every syllable of the article, I hope they didn't miss the part where Jon reiterated why Kate dropped the suit (besides the faker than a $2 Rolex texts) He stated that to carry on with the suit, Kate would have had to admit the journal is hers, hence admitting to her abuse of the kids. She was trying to claim the journal was fabricated, while at the same time claiming her intellectual property was stolen. Can't do both. Lovely idol those ewes have : (

It's sad, but that's how so many people get really, really rich. I guess if you have no pride, the sky's the limit.
Going on a RTV show with the likes of a burgeoning porn star who has been penetrated every way since Sunday is pretty low, but it seems that this is the clusterf*ck that life becomes once you become a RTV "star".
Life becomes about going from one gig to the next, worrying about your brand and getting used to a lifestyle that you can not possibly support forever.
It's a terrible example for kids to see and I'd be pretty surprised if some of the G kids don't follow right in J+K's path. Why work hard, get an education, go into major debt when your name is Gosselin and you know you'll be asked to do these stupid shows.
Blech, I just don't see this interview as doing Jon any favors. What do you say to those kids? Do as I say, not as I do?
Good luck with that.
Remona I enjoy your accusatory snits. :)
LOL. The lawsuit was dropped because it was an attempt to bully Jon into submission until he caved. Shawn said "nope, not this time," and Kate ran away like the coward she really is. You don't even need much edu-macation to figure that one out.
"Tucker.....It's sad, but that's how so many people get really, really rich. I guess if you have no pride, the sky's the limit."
I enjoy following celebrity culture, yet I'm also fascinated with the dark side. If you want to be a mainstream success (and not just say, make independent films for pennies) you pretty much have to be willing to craft an image and brand. So much of the time, this image is not all real, it's not authentic. I think this is exactly the conundrum that Scott over at CC ran into. I think he genuinely wanted a real mom to be a celebrity spokesperson. I think as always, Kate was interested in building her false public persona and brand. When he soon discovered the real Kate was not the same as the Kate put out by CC, he eventually couldn't reconcile this and had to let her go. But Scott, she's a celeb. This is what they do. Some are better at hiding how fake it is. Guess Kate was not. Scott would not succeed as a celeb, but then few would.
I have to think that most people would not enjoy being a celeb because of the authenticity problem. Sometimes when some celebs moan and groan about aspects of celebrity, while it sounds childish, they have a point. Celebrity culture is completely lame and it stinks to have to play along with it if authenticity interests you. While celebs who get caught doing bad things are usually cause for eye rolling, at least they are being real people.

Really good points. By several nanny accounts, it wasn't Jon doing the drinking during that marriage.
I'm not on board with Jon's drinking and driving, even if he's not over the legal limit.Buzzed driving is pretty damn dangerous and with 8 kids? Come on.
There have just been too many reports from Jon's wild days about him drinking in bars for me to think he actually restrains himself.
I mean, wait 'til you get home to unwind with a drink, or be sure you're not getting behind the wheel with a DD.
And shots are for college pukes who want to get drunk, not enjoy a fine wine, cold one or mixologist's concoction.
I really hope I'm not offending anyone, it's just that J+K both have arrested development.
Oh Julia Ormond is a celeb who doesn't play along. For many years she played demure, sweet, wholesome characters in many blockbuster films. In real life she curses like a sailor and has a real mean streak and smokes 2 packs a day and admits she is just a total bad-ass. It does not fit with her angelic English rose face, but it is who she is.
She has given many an interview where she talks about how "f-ing frustrating" it is to feel like she has to put on this sweet and innocent persona. She was fed up with it from day one. Her career suddenly plummeted after she refused to give into it. The blockbusters stopped overnight. Now, she still gets PLENTY of work and good work, but it's quieter under appreciated work and her days of being a headliner were over as quickly as they started. She wasn't willing to conform.

How do you not see this coming?! Kate really managed to paint herself into a corner, and if the kids were ever truly in danger and their safety threatened, then why walk away from this?
It that's what is really at stake here, then what mother throws her hands up in the air and moves along like nothing ever happened.

Admin, in your humble opinion... do you feel Robert's book is what triggered Kate's dimissal from CC? She was fired about two weeks after it was out for those two days. The CC insider claimed that Kate was very demanding and insistent that CC pay for Steve everywhere she went. That must have been part of it. But I do suspect that the book may have brought a morality clause issue into play and gave Scott the ammo he needed to give her the boot before her contract ran out. What do you think?

Admin, I think that you've made a very good point concerning the difference between TFW and Jon's alcohol consumption around their children. It is no small thing that Jon hasn't been seen drinking on his time with his children, yet their mother makes no secret of drinking when she has the children locked behind those gates.
When the children are with their father, they are out and about in public, doing ordinary things. His attention is on them, and even when someone wants a photo, it is ALWAYS only with Jon, making it very clear that he has requested they not include the children. Jon not only respects their privacy, he sees that others do too, and any 'adult' behavior is when he is out and about without his children.
I have no doubt that the children are aware of the difference, just as we are.

I had a feeling that Kate may have violated the terms of her contract by accepting CWS while employed by CC.
Flitting off to spend a week in LA, while turning her children over to a woman she's never met maybe didn't go over too well. That and not even consulting Jon was pretty disgusting.
I think it came down to demands and a lot of money for someone who wasn't doing her job as a coupon blogger.
Frankly, I don't know what the heck CC was thinking by publishing the dreck she wrote, and allowing their site and business to be used as a bully pulpit to rage on over her kerfuffle with Tony and Anderson had me scratching my head.
As for the driving on the back roads, I think that was prudent. Jon knows the roads, knew there would be no traffic.
+++++++++++++
But there ARE trees on back roads, fences, and sharp curves. We have just as many accidents on back roads as we do in areas with traffic...not to mention that lanes and hidden driveways are good hiding places for police cars! Of course, at this point it's not even known if he was driving under the influence.

I thought the concern was that pedestrians or other cars/people would be in jeopardy. Never been where he lives, but here, especially at night, it's safer to take the road(s) less travelled. How do we know he was speeding, or out of control? As others have said, we do not know anything for certain.
My major point was, he is the better parent...kept himself in control.
Okay, he's a year past the mid 30 mark,
Wow, boring. The kids weren't there so it's not like they saw, heard or any of it affected them. But than again when TFW rages at him back on the show or guild trip those kiddos ... well that is something they will be influenced by. I'm sure they still hear about rotten daddy and get guilted on a routine basis. I wonder if the kids show him as much disrespect as their mother does. If I had an ex like TFW I'd be cussing and might even toss back a few too. It's called self medicating and unfortunately those whose insurance doesn't have much in the way of mental health benefits and counties that have little access to the so called sliding scale MH benefits leaves a lot of "borderline" folks to their own devices. Alcohol tends to be the drug of choice for those that resort to self medicating
The kids weren't with him so I'm not all that concerned. I'm sure the 8 are used to the whispering about their horrid parents. Even when Jon was quiet as a mouse, TFW made sure it was known he was a deadbeat bum.
Life goes on.

But he didn't respect their privacy by telling the bloody world that his kids have morality problems. I don't want Kate's sheeple to think we have selective memory here.
Also, Jon didn't keep his 'adult' behaviour away from his kids. He did it WHILE BEING INTERVIEWED for a public/online article. As many posters have pointed out, they'll definitely know about it. If not by their classmates or general internet surfing, then by Kate herself.
If Jon truly wanted his kids to remain private, he shouldn't put questionable behaviour out there in the first place.

If by 'in control', you mean doing shots, public urination and drinking and driving, I guess he was. I'd hate to see him NOT in control. LOL
The heck? Alcoholic Reality Check, why would you ever think I would approve that terrible comment? You cannot make such a broad assumption without knowing my weight (I'm tall and clock in at 145, certainly not 120 except in high school), the amount of food consumed (I never drink other than with meals) and the amount of hours that occurred between drinks (always several).
You can't make a righteous broad statement (guess) about what someone's BA level would be without knowing such important factors. And even then, only a machine can give you the real number. Quite frankly to suggest otherwise and state you know what the number would be shows a complete lack of understanding about BALs. There is no such thing as drink X amount of drinks and your BAL is this number. Doesn't work that way. Tables are a guide, not a fact. If they were a fact, we wouldn't bother with breathalyzers. And even when you know all those factors your guess could be totally wrong because everyone's body reacts differently. Heck that's why people coined the term lightweight. Or why you might go to some seedy bar and see a drunk pound away two pitchers all by himself and walk away straight as an arrow. It IS directly about your body, no question about it. And this is why alcoholism is such a terrible thing, because it can sneak up on people or if any factor changes (you lose weight, you didn't eat much that day, you drink quicker than usual) suddenly everything changes. If you drink, it is a responsibility to know what is right and safe for you and most people do no take that lightly. The vast majority of people who drink are perfectly law abiding professionals who have never caused a problem for anyone a day in their lives. It's the few people who have gone overboard and caused terrible loss that are to be concerned with. It is blatantly unfair and libelous to lump all drinkers in that category. Lots of people can build a fire and keep it nice and control. Only a few are arsonists.

Haha I believe it said at the top from the Law Offices of Auntie&Anne! Either that or Shawn Tuma ghost wrote it.
Maybe if Starbucks had just picked up the phone and asked nicely, it would have resolved itself. I'm so tired of hearing some big guy thinks they can just bully the little guy into submission with scary legalize. It's nice to see the little guy not be intimidated.

Sorry you've had to deal with the nasty nonsense lately, Admin. I suspect that many of the drive by names are grazing sheeple enjoying the opportunity to bash Jon here.
IMHO, this Philly Magazine article has been rehashed to death and there just isn't much more to say, as much as I've enjoyed reading the various opinions. Going around in circles for days on end just isn't my idea of fun, but maybe that's just me.
Dear Please Stick to the Facts: You seem to insinuate that I am making false statements. " but to state that he may have only had two drinks on the one night is patently false." I did not bother to read the interview, as I don't choose to give the Gosselins that much of my time. So my comment was based on statements made here. I also phrased my wording as "this may be the case" or "that may be the case." I did not make any flat assertions or outright claims.
You took the time to read the article, and if you are correct, then Jon had 2 whiskey, a beer, and one shot over the course of an evening. I still don't have enough information to know if these drinks were consumed within one hour, two hours, or more. I don't know how much food was consumed during the evening. I don't know at what time he had his last drink before leaving the second bar. I just know that this does not sound like a night of binge drinking, and that I know many people who would consume a similar amount of alcohol on a Saturday night, usually part of it with a meal. It just doesn't sound like wild drinking to me.

I agree with this comment. However, it's been pretty obvious to me for years that Jon is not the brightest bulb in the package. I doubt he'll ever be as wise as one might wish. He is a flawed human being.
However, of the two parents, I would never say that Jon is "just as bad" as Kate. Never. In a million years. It's simply not possible. Jon may be a screw up, foolish, and sometimes downright stupid. But he does love his children and when they are with him, he seems to try to have fun, be loving and caring, and be a good father. Kate never, ever, ever, ever, ever, does anything similar.
So when I see people saying "these two are equally bad," I just shake my head. There's simply no way that will ever be true.

Great point. When I was growing up, it was normal for my parents to have a mixed drink when my dad got home from work. They would go into the living room and sit and talk about their day. Kids were not welcome - we had plenty of other rooms in which to play. This was how my parents would wind down from their days, re-connect with each other. Then we would all sit down to dinner. Often, my parents might have a glass of wine with dinner if they desired.
I have never in my life seen either of my parents drunk, or even tipsy. They demonstrated to us that one could enjoy an alcoholic beverage or two in a responsible manner. Perhaps as a result, or perhaps partially to good luck, none of their children have any drinking problems, nor have ever been pulled over for a DUI.
If one wishes to abstain 100%, that's a good choice, for that person. But to expect that no parent should ever consume an alcoholic beverage, until their child is of adult age, is not realistic. There is indeed a value to demonstrating to your children how to behave responsibly, whether it concerns drinking, eating a healthy diet, avoiding too much tv, being active, etc.
Since we've beaten the article to death, I'm continuing with more humor, esp for animal lovers:

Hey Hey here, did anyone on this blog read the very first two sentences in the articlle? He and the interviewer ate a meal at the bar when Jon ended his shift. Sheesh, give the man a break. Jon just ended work. Then ate a meal. Then offered a drink at the bar at his place of work when his duties were done. This was an interview for the show. He knows reality TV. He is trying to earn a buck. No kids involved. Isn't this what many many here said would satfsfy them as right behavior according to whomever deemed right behavior? Wow, he said the F word. Wow, he called the Asshole he was married to an Asshole. In my opinion, that Asshole Viper that is messing with him AND his kids heads to this day needs an attitude adjustment. Robert Hoffman and Jon just might given it to her. One can only hope.
Here it is, the first two sentences of the article.
"Following his Friday-night shift at the better
of the two restaurants in Stouchsburg, Pennsylvania, Jon Gosselin emerges from its kitchen and asks if I want to try something he made. A minute later he comes back with two plates of beef and Hawaiian fried rice and sets them down at the bar. I don't think AA is keeping a seat warm for Jon.
And speaking of public urination, my husband and I had a construction company, eight men employed. Just where up here in NH do you think the urine was deposited?
Prince William was caught on camera urinating at a polo match a couple years back. He just walked over to a fence and let it go right there. Which is funny because polo is so upper crust. People got over it I guess. He wasn't stripped of his crown anyway!
I found it funny that she was going to start with the two positions that "guys" tease girls about. If Kate knew nothing about football, starting with the Quarterback might should have been the starting point. At this time, all I can see is Milo getting excited about WR and TE Ugg

Frankly, I don't know what the heck CC was thinking by publishing the dreck she wrote, and allowing their site and business to be used as a bully pulpit to rage on over her kerfuffle with Tony and Anderson had me scratching my head.

I agree. I don't think TFW knows how to blog about anything unless it has to do with her, her, her, her and well her. If she is not happy, using a Coupon site to voice her uncontrolled anger is A-Okay in her book. I hereby anoint her as IAAM- It's All About Me.

Shades of TLC in the latter episodes..
The deer are very numerous in our area this year. There is a group of five or six does that come thru our neighborhood on a regular basis. They would east the azaleas to the ground if they could. Deer do not like the scent of dog urine, so I encourage the dogs to urinate on and around the azaleas. Out helps that azaleas and rhododendrons are avoid loving plants, and uric acid in urine ads to the acidity of the soil. Walking the dogs at night, I also appreciate it when the dh adds to the soil acidity, yes by urinating outside. Takes just a few seconds, and there is no public exposure of anything. Male anatomy is convenient that way. (it really does help keep the deer away)

That being said, those kids don't have a chance in heck. Both Jon and Kate are too emotionally immature to adequately parent children.
The kids have grown up in a toxic mess. I pray it's not all they know. I hope they have some sort of outside influences/representations of emotionally healthy family relationships.
I don't want to see any of those kids in tabloid headlines in 5-10 years ... and Jon and Kate finger pointing as to which one of them screwed up the kids ...

My sister and BIL built a house in an 'exclusive' neighborhood - that used to be woods and farm fields. Everyone had the landscaping company plant thousands and thousands of flower bulbs.
It's my guilty pleasure to drive through the neighborhood each Spring/Summer and see all the daffodil and tulip STALKS waving in the breeze! :-) The deer go through the neighborhood eating the tops off of each and every flower!

I've seen the part about wasting his whole life, but I don't remember the part about needing to talk to his children. I hope this show shows TFW for the witch she is. Of course the sheep will say she has to be that way, thanks to his interview.
One reason that TFW will never be accepted within the realm of 'professional actors and entertainers' is that she can't stop promoting her children and using them for attention.
She KNOWS that if she tweets some cute anecdote or picture then the twits who follow her (fans and non-fans) will pump up her twitter feed.
Real TV Personalities and actors/actresses do their best to keep their children's lives PRIVATE. Heck, even parents of young actors and actresses do the same. Most of the time the only time you see a child actor in public is when they are doing appearances to promote their shows. The ones that are out and about and all over twitter are generally the ones who end up having trouble - a need for attention.
It seems that, in a way, TFW is acting like a 'troubled child star' in the desperate need for attention and adulation. She NEEDS people to pay attention to her via her children's antics. Whoever did that parody video "K+8 the College Years" was right on, when it came to Kate and the lengths she will go to stay on tv, as disturbing as that video is . Spoof Video

One of the great strengths of this site is the varying opinions of many different posters. Very smart, savvy, experienced, sensible women/men? who actually care about what happens with these kids.
Some will say we are out to "get" Kate, giving her far too much credit. in general. Most of us are more concerned about the kids and her endless need to use them. Many posters here with their own kids, so the main priority has always been about a woman who chooses to make her living off her childrens' backs and is still doing it 13 years later.
It's just not right.

Kate wasn't spanking the kids, she was wailing on them.
Kate wasn't so much disciplining the kids as much as reacting to being pissed off by their insolence. Being a terrible two toddler was a declaration of war to Kate and it was obvious how personally she took it.
When you are frightened that you actually lost it to the point of physically injuring your child, it's time to get help, not market yourself as a paragon of motherhood.
I'd love for this author to watch some of the first episodes of J+K- watch the Discovery specials and see how little those miraculous kids were, and then think about grabbing one by the hair, hitting them hard by adult standards, throwing them into their crib (imagine their pain and crying at the time) and leaving them to cry and be without any comfort for hours because they would have to wait for Jon to get home and care for them.
The clip showing Jon on the phone wanting to talk to his children tells me he IS bringing the kids 'onto' this Celeb Couples Rehab show with him in a sense/ I think that is wrong, to air dirty laundry, even if it's with TFW, on national TV. I am not impressed with Jon lately.

Giada's career is pretty much bicoastal and she's got the chops to go the distance with it. I'm pretty sure her DH has his own company too.
Giada is actually a reluctant lifestyle guru and just released a book/cookbook that puts a good deal of focus on how she does it and what works for her life, beauty and style.
I also like that Little Big Head sucked at being on T.V. at first, but she worked hard at it and dedicated herself to learning how to be on T.V. and eventually she got it. I see the same determination from Pioneer Woman, she is getting a lot better since she first started.
Little Big Head's house is a block away from a park in Palisades I take the dog to. I think she basically moved into her husband's bachelor pad. It's beautiful and modern, but no way is it a mansion. It can't be more than a three bedroom home. It's in a normal residential neighborhood, no security guard or gated community. Last time I was there I saw people walking their dogs and some guy working on his car, no sense or care that there is a multi millionaire right there. You can literally just walk up to her door and knock if you wanted to. And they can walk to the bank, to lunch, to the kid's school, to the baseball fields. She doesn't live the sort of lifestyle that her buckets of money would suggest. Not everyone would do it too!

Right, she's not a natural and had a tough time at first while filming her cooking show, but there was a learning curve there, while Kate's has remained rather flat.
Giada also does not Valley Girl speak, even though she's actually from CA.
Giada also did not do well when trying to transition from food show host to Today show host. When she was pregnant with Jade, she was obviously being groomed to get a co-hosting spot on Today, and made many appearances, but faltered and flubbed quite a bit. But, she regrouped and went to her strong suit, and didn't try to force a square peg into a round hole.
Humans fail at things and we all have strengths and weaknesses, so this "never quit" is BS. The better side of valor is to adapt and change tack. Otherwise, you're just a dinosaur.
She doesn't live the sort of lifestyle that her buckets of money would suggest. Not everyone would do it too!

She has a VERY strong sense of style. Nothing cookie cutter. The house has a sense of space and omg, the views!
Personally, I think the main reason Jon is returning to reality tv is just to stick a fork in Khate and I love that! See, he can get on a show and Khate cannot! I don't care what he has said in the past. Desperate times calls for desperate measures. Besides, neither Jon nor Khate are the sharpest tools in the shed!
We have a skunk problem that is quite frankly just one of the most infuriating "house issues" I've ever dealt with, and my dog's been skunked, belch! Apparently human pee deters them so when they get particularly bad we pee over on their favorite pathway a few times. Sounds gross but it really does help.
"When she was pregnant with Jade, she was obviously being groomed to get a co-hosting spot on Today, and made many appearances, but faltered an"
I don't watch the morning circuit at all so I missed that whole thing. But what a great example. If it's not working out, it's not working out. Why force it? She has other talents she can hone in on. There is no shame in saying you know what, I gave it the ole college try but that just wasn't for me. And, gasp, QUITTING!
Loathe I think deep down it really irks the fans that Jon got a show and Kate did not. I believe people here are sincerely concerned about this show and have explained why. I don't believe the sheeple REALLY care or have the same concerns. They just don't like that Jon got something and Kate didn't. Ironically, they have very jealous personalities. Which is probably why they accuse others of being jealous so much--projection. They will wax on about how trashy the show is but if Kate got on they would support it. They had no problem whatsoever with CWS and that show is borderline pretty trashy too.
Regarding that clip with Jon saying he needs to talk to his children - it may not be Kate he is talking to at all. It may be a producer or something. They probably strictly control the environment early on to eliminate outside interference and he may be asking for permission to talk to the kids. Or he may be talking to Kate. Time will tell.
Tucker's Mom, it sounded to me like Liz said "......and you moved someone in with you."

Sincere thanks to you Admin, as always, for this forum. And you too, blog girls. Your hard work has made this a great place to hang out!
Kate (and Milo, of course) is anxiously awaiting Zoro's first words. I hate to break this to her, but if she had done extensive research on this species, she would have found out that it is not a good talker. She may have a long wait on this one. If she wanted a talker, a much better choice would have been an Amazon or an African Grey.
She says the bird is imitating her shrieking kids. Aren't they just a little bit too old to shriek...at almost 10 and 13?
If you are employing construction workers you should be supplying them with ports potties. What happens when they have to go #2? Also, around here if you get caught urinating in public you can get charged with a sexual offense. FYI
Marie
The only reason you could be charged with a sexual offense for urinating is because the new sex offender laws include indecent exposure and urination statutes were often classified under that heading. Almost all states have taken the time to manually rewrite the law to separate out public urination so that injustice doesn't happen. Those that haven't will likely get around to it shortly so I wouldn't sweat it much. Actually this is a very common example brought up for those who think sex offender laws are not tailored to do the good they seek to. But most states stepped up and fixed it, and good for them.
Admin-when will you posting Kate's worst moments of 2013? Looking forward to it.
Penalties for public urination in Michigan vary according to location. Many areas have passed local ordinances setting stiffer penalties than state law dictates. Although Michigan penalties aren't as harsh as those in many other states, public urination is a crime with consequences.
Identification
While urinating in public is not specifically covered under Michigan's penal code, it is considered a misdemeanor in Michigan, covered under disorderly person or indecent exposure statutes. Penalties are set by local municipalities, such as towns, cities, villages and townships.
State Law
The state of Michigan voted in 2005 to increase the penalty for indecent exposure that includes a lewd act. The law that was signed by Governor Jennifer Granholm on December 20, 2005 left the penalty for indecent exposure that does not include a lewd act, such as public urination, at up to a $1000 fine or up to one year in jail.

I agree, why not? As long as your husband is not in the middle of an interview with a reporter, who will likely record his every move. : )
I am not a saint by any stretch, and in college had to find a way to relieve my agony with bathroom lines miles long (ok, maybe not miles). But being a bit of a prude, armored with several girlfriends in a similar situation, we all guarded each other very carefully. My room mates were the best!, and I haven't seem myself in print yet, many years later so I guess there was no reporter around : ) God help him if he was.
College girls are fierce in protecting each other.
Public Urination Charges and Registered Sex Offender?
There is another factor that must be considered, and that is the chance that the person accused of public urination might have to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law. This law was created after 7-year-old Megan Kanka was raped and murdered by a known sex offender. The law requires that sex offenders be registered and it also provides notification of these offenders in their communities. While you may think that it would be ridiculous to be charged as a sex offender because you decided to urinate in an alley, realize that it could happen, since it borders on public lewdness and indecent exposure. This is a situation you definitely do not want to happen to you.

Marie what you posted reflects what I just said. Michigan specifically separated out urination from lewd acts. Thus no, it's not a sex crime.
Will post it today!
Marie I see lots of fear and dire warnings on google about public urination and sex acts, yet very few examples of anyone claiming it ever happened to them. If it did there were likely other factors like the person was purposely trying to be lewd and creepy in front of kids. No, you're not going to be a sex offender for peeing in the middle of the woods.

Marie I published your comments. Good heavens.
Actually I take it back I did remove an earlier comment from you because you attacked and insulted my posters. Not because you were "dissenting"
My point in posting those two examples was that the punishment varies depending on where you live and so it is advisable to know the law in your area as cities, towns and counties in the same state have various punishments. So before you decide to make a deposit of your bodily fluids in public, check the laws.

Excerpt from Philly article:
A couple weeks before Kate dropped the case, Hoffman sent me a copy of a Microsoft Word file titled “Mommy’s Journal.” It totals over 100 pages. It begins on July 2, 2006, and ends on July 23, 2007. There are a lot of exclamation points and biblical verses. Hoffman says I’m the first journalist to see it, and has urged me to “independently verify” it
___________________
I am late to the story. I thought it was very telling that this was the first journalist to read Kate's journal. Hoffman did say at one point there was little to no interest from the media about his book but I think it is telling that not one media person cared to contact him to read it. Maybe that is why he isn't going to bother to publish his book again.
I know the world has moved on from Kate as a whole and "her days" are over. And I am thrilled about that. But I do think it is stunning that not one media person contacted Robert. And Robert himself did contact the media ( we don't know the specifics of course) about promoting his book. Why was Kate on the cover of People magazine and on tv several times this year and no takers in the media about Kate's personal journal?
I think everyone is aware there are public utination statutes thankfully! However most of them are quite clear that it is just that, public or where the public can see you. Few statutes prohibit you from doing so on a private and secluded property where no one sees you. I think they're seeking to curtail someone from doing so in the middle of a park full of people. Not to stop someone from going who has to in the woods or other secluded private areas.
Wen my husband was having some prostate issues it was either stop the car and pee on the side of the road or pee wherever you were if you were out and about and no bathroom in sight. it was either that or pee your pants. Sometimes you just can't help but pee outside. Uromysitisis!
I finally got around to reading the whole interview and what struck me the most, besides the ridiculously inconsistent timeline, was not even part of the article itself. It was the caption under the first photo.
"Photography by Chris Crisman, Prop Styling by Lauren Payne, Styling by Kara Bettie Speckhals, All Wardrobe Provided by Sugarcube and Barbour."
This speaks volumes to me and tells me this was most likely a choreographed effort to get Jon back in the news just in time for his appearance on CT.
Only Jon knows for sure whether or not it was meant to go so far as to be quoted cursing about his ex-wife and a detailed, albeit suspect, list of his alcohol consumption.
But surely, when STYLISTS show up and your clothes are being "provided by", a person with as much experience as Jon has in being exploited knows what is going on.
I've been a strong proponent of the whole, "do what you want just leave the kids out of it" view of all their parents' famewhoring.
But I'm beginning to wonder if the kids CAN be left out of it. Is there anything their parents can do in the media that won't have a direct negative impact on their well being?
ut I think it is telling that not one media person cared to contact him to read it.
****
Well, that's not exactly what was written. This Philadelphia Magazine writer was the first to see it, but we don't know if he was the first to ask, or if Robert had conversations with other media, or exactly how much interest there is in this journal and all the photos he claims to have.
I can't believe that not one single person from the media contacted him. Is he lying about a movie deal?

A couple more thoughts on the interview then I'm done...promise. :P
Jon was quoted as saying, “The main thing the tabloids did was separate me from my brand,” he says. “My brand was Jon & Kate Plus 8. Now that I’m divorced? My new brand, because of the tabloids, is Jon Gosselin.”
Who refers to themselves as a brand if they've put that lifestyle behind them? And the tabloids separated you from your brand?
No Jon, you did when you walked away and rightfully so. You have 8 children whose emotional and physical well beings were being compromised, exploited and even abused.
You had cheering sections of concerned parties; family, friends and even strangers all supporting you in your efforts to get your kids off of television.
You abandoned your brand in order to provide your children with some sense of normalcy and privacy. Or so we, those of us paying attention, thought.
Which leads back to the point I made in my last comment...as long as the "brand" is the Gosselin name, it will ALWAYS impact the kids whether they are directly involved or not.
It's because of the kids that the brand exists at all. Jon and Kate would have been completely unknown otherwise. Whatever Jon and Kate do in the public eye, it will only EVER be because of their kids.
So frekkin' sad.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a great New Year's Eve!

Also I see no reason to urinate in someone's driveway- maybe in a back alley or your own backyard or the woods, but not where someone might step in it or children or pets be on contact with bodily fluids. I still think Jon's urinating act was uncalled for. JMO.
About once a year, someone in our small town gets arrested for public urination. Usually though, the person is also quite intoxicated, and does something really stupid, like urinate on the tire of a police cruiser.
Wen my husband was having some prostate issues it was either stop the car and pee on the side of the road or pee wherever you were if you were out and about and no bathroom in sight. it was either that or pee your pants. Sometimes you just can't help but pee outside. Uromysitisis!
&&&&&&&&&&
Same thing happens when you're pregnant, only we don't have the luxury of just unzipping and whipping it out!
Few statutes prohibit you from doing so on a private and secluded property where no one sees you.
&&&&&&&
But you have to be careful even on private property or in the woods where you THINK nobody is watching. It's just not urination that is the issue. It's indecent exposure, and the private property argument doesn't hold water (pun intended) if someone does happen to see you.
Of course if it's tiny and there's nothing to see, your case might hold up in court! I better zip it, because if Goody reads here, she'll start bashing Jon's manhood again.
I was running in a half marathon (really, Kate!) and the lines to the honey buckets were crazy. When our corral crossed the timing mat, about 20 guys ran to the side and just started peeing right there in the grass next to the road! It was confusing - and funny - to see their backs to us! I was a little jealous, actually. I held my water for about an hour and went in a filthy honey bucket in a bank of them along the route. Blech.
FRP
I don't use the F word, never have, never will, but when I read Milo's tweets, such as:
Fired Up 4 Kate @MiloandJack 3h
@Kateplusmy8 Regarding Zorro...we R waiting out here as well 2hear his first words! Maybe he'll surprise U 2nite with #HappyNewYear :)
...I just want to yell, "Grow the bleep up!" I think she'd be enough to drive anyone to drink.
I hope that when this whole Gosselin thing is over and done, we'll find out if this is a man, woman, a man-women, or a very polished catfisher.

LOL!! Yeah, that's stupid. I remember awhile back when an officer had come across someone urinating against the wall of a service station. He ordered the guy to stop and turn around. Not a good idea. The guy spun around while he was peeing and got the officer in the face. Good aim, I must say.

Nor should we. I know I never did.

New Years Eve in Times Square-- all those people, there all day, drinking and no Porta Potties.
Just at the mercy of Depends.
************
Oh, if it were only just New Year's Eve. I am still amazed at Kate running through the streets on Liberty Island barefoot!!!
I am remembering a tidbit I learned in a college physics course: In times past when one dined with the king one did not leave the table until the king did. Meaning if your bladder was full you were in trouble. (The king had under the table bladder relievers in the form of short men with pee bottles but the lesser lights were left on their own.) Tycho Brache, a brilliant astronomer, suffered mightily one night, ended up bursting his bladder and died. Moral, do NOT keep in what really, really needs to come out!!
"I just do not have a good feeling about this show, mostly because I don't think the kids should see how ugly things really are. Maybe they see it all the time, which would be very sad "
I think they've seen the ugly behavior of their parents towards and about each other for years; pre-divorce and post. It is very sad that the children are always the ones to be hurt when the parents put their issues with each other before the best welfare of their kids.
"but it's just terribly uncouth to whip it out in front of a reporter."
Not that it makes a huge difference since the reporter saw it and reported it, but he didn't "whip it out in front of the reporter". It was already out when the reporter pulled up. (gawd that sounds horrible lol). I think (or at least hope) that Jon felt he'd never be seen.
"When we get to Carey’s, I get out of the car and find Jon standing in her unpaved driveway, driver-side door wide open, taking a piss."
To all the sheeple and bots who are in a tizzy about Jon calling Kate 'disgusting and awful' - he didn't. He said her tweeting about everything the kids do and them not being able to have a normal life is what he finds offensive. I guess many don't, but I see a difference.
“She tweets everything. To the world, all about my children. I think it’s disgusting and awful. They can’t even have a normal life.”
oh- and was it private property where the driveway where Jon whizzed was ? I thought he was very opposed to trespassing!
Remember on the the RV trip on the white rapids tour, the man told the kids to pee in the water? They thought it was a riot, but TFW was not amused.
Happy New Year's Eve, everyone! This discussion takes the cake..or something. lol

Wow, impressive stream! No prostate problems there...

Who here thinks M is as good natured as TFW makes her out to be? How could she be with her disposition and with the environment of a battle axe mother and trainwreck father? Anyone notice TFW only mentions C if it is M & C?
---------
I firmly believe that Mady has learned how to "navigate" Kate as much as possible. She was pretty clear about her "workload" in the CWS episode, and prior to that both M & C made it clear they were not happy with filming on the RV trip, so she banished them both. (Cara and Mady) were making it crystal clear that they did not want to be there.
I think Mady has learned how to get around Kate, as Kate needs the twins to take care of the younger six. Never mind they actually understood what was going on, and what a hoax the show was.
I do think Mady is very savvy, and that Cara wants to be left alone, which is why you rarely see photos of her. These 2 could write a best selling book today. But they will continue to navigate her until they have completed college. After that, wait for a book from one or both of them. They know Kate well.

Happy New Year everyone, and may 2014 be free of urination comments!!

Totally agree at this point. This topic is going nowhere, but in the toilet.

__________________________________________________
I didn't understand any of his babble on this.
He is correct that his "brand" was Jon and Kate + 8. They pretended to be devoutly Christian and wholesome. Kate told him shortly after they bought the Konpound that their marriage was over, but that he was going to pretend to be happily married to continue their farce of a show. He rebelled, and started going out to bars. He said he was tired of being Jon from J&K+8 and he wanted to be "just Jon." The "tabloids" didn't make him do this. However, they were happy to capture him on film while he was sowing his wild oats. Also, he was MORE than happy to tip off paps and share a cut of the profit when he could (Kate has done this as well, they are both guilty. See: 2012 Easter Egg hunt held in only part of yard where Kate's pap could take pictures for Us mag.)
I would love for Jon to clarify how the tabloids stole his brand from him. He used to claim he hated the fakeness he had to portray for the show. Now, he realizes there was more profit to be made by living a lie and pretending to be religious? Or, does he mean the tabloids should have never printed any of his bad behavior? Tori Spelling has always had a cozy relationship with Us magazine. This week, they threw her straight under the bus to report exclusively on her cheating husband. No celebrity is special or immune from the tabs. Jon shouldn't feel like he's special or has been slighted.
Tucker's Mom...135
Yeah, it is their bonding moment. He spoons the dog every chance he gets as well. He just loves his four legged boy.
Blowing In The Wind...136 Does he lift his leg at the fire hydrant?
That made me laugh. The dog doesn't even lift his leg let alone the hubs. The dog just stretches out and goes. Half the time he pees on his leg (the dog not the hubs.) Plus the fire hydrant is across the street. I don't think the neighbors would appreciate the hubby doing that so they go in the back yard where it's private.
Happy New Year everyone! If you're going out, be safe.
Jon peed directly in front of an interviewer, who was taking notes.
I don't think any of us have done that. Case Closed on peeing. Seriously.
I just read online that a couple who were injured in the Boston Marathon bombing just welcomed a baby girl. The wife found out she was pregnant when she was being treated for her injuries at Boston's Brigham and Womens Hospital. They had her take a pregnancy test and it came back "slight positve" and they told her to take another one when she returned home. She's 39 and the husband's 42 and they've been trying since 2012 to get pregnant. How sweet is that. As one comment said, "a miracle within a tragedy."
Everyone have a Happy & safe & healthy New Year!
It's just not urination that is the issue. It's indecent exposure
&&&
Most states have separated it out from indecent exposure. Only a few still consider it as such. For most states it just is what it is: public urination.
Now like I said if you're being intentionally reckless or doing it to be a freak and get people worked up on purpose, that's different and I'm sure most law enforcement would recognize it as such. I know of a case where a man stood outside the fence of a school and peed. He wanted the kids to see him. He called attention to himself to make sure they saw. He was disturbed and the kids who saw were upset. That was not okay and he was arrested.
Watching Home and Family to refresh my memory for the recap (actually, I never saw it lol) and I noticed Kate said something that I don't recall anyone mentioning. She said honestly, the show saved our lives.
The show saved your life? Oh the melodrama. They would have figured it out just fine without the show, just like dozens of other families with high order multiples figured it out. They would have had to work hard and make sacrifices but they would have figured it out.
I can't stand this picture she paints that they absolutely had to have this show or it would be crust of bread glass of water otherwise. Many people manage to figure it out without such a lavish bailout.
Kate said she was well aware having a crew around wasn't normal and that she did "safeguard" by keeping it small, the same people, etc.
Guess she forgot to safeguard out pervs like Blankinship.

Right. And I doubt if she even asked TLC if background checks were ever done on any of the crew, and yet she left them alone filming one of the twins in the basement, and other kids in the bathroom with no parent around (new house, refrigerator-cleaning episode).

At what price, and what emotional damage done to the kids? Saved their lives...but destroyed the marriage.
I didn't understand any of his babble on this.
-----
-----
I actually did understand this, but I'm strange. In one of the last interviews when filmed, Jon said he was tired being Jon and Kate Plus Eight. It was like he had no identity of his own. He just wanted to be Jon, and that's what he is now...totally separated from the Kate Plus Eight brand. I guess it was him saying, "this is me...Jon Gosselin...like it or leave it, this is who I am."
To all the sheeple and bots who are in a tizzy about Jon calling Kate 'disgusting and awful' - he didn't.

You have to forgive the sheeple. Reading comprehension has never been one of their strong suits.
Kates on twitter Yaaaaying a pap law that protects celebrity children....WTF..I didn't know she was still a celebrity??!! I think she has started her celebrating if you catch my drift. She sounds wasted already..
I think what's confusing is that at the time of the divorce Jon seemed to be saying he didn't want to be a 'brand'...he just wanted to be Jon, private citizen.
Now he seems to be saying that his 'brand' was taken from him, and he hasn't been able to establish a new one.
Not that there's anything wrong with changing your mind, but he seems to change his mind on this a lot. Flip flopping, if you will.

Isn't that a law that was passed in California? I doubt she knows that.
She's also tweeting about her low-key NYE party with the kids, since some of them are sick. Just had to make sure her tweeties knew.
Geez, the kids are sick again?? They seem to get ill very frequently despite the love in the mix. Sometimes I wonder if she says this for attention. But then I know she has children 'perfect' in every way, including health.
