Perhaps Tamra and Simon's long squabble over their children being on reality T.V. was overshadowed by the more epic battle between Jon and Kate that began about the same time. But things are heating up for the Real Housewife and her ex once again.
Simon, who has successfully kept his three children off T.V. since 2010 and even once ended up in jail for domestic violence during the feud (he says the charges were completely fabricated by Tamra in order to try to get full custody and put the children back on T.V.--the charges were subsequently dropped), could be back in court soon.
In a statement, Tamra says she's going back to the Orange County family court again with a new theory. Tamra says that California law should be interpreted to allow her to put the children on T.V. when it's her custodial time (she concedes she cannot put them on T.V. during Simon's custodial time). Joint legal custody typically gives both parents "veto" power over the other's legal decisions. Joint legal can be a never-ending nightmare when parents don't get along, however only in limited circumstances does California allow full legal custody to one parent. Tamra and Simon have had joint custody since their divorce was finalized in an October 2011 settlement. The settlement also instructs both parents not to make derogatory remarks about the other to the children or the public, and says that each parent is responsible financially for the needs of their children during their custodial time--there is no child support or alimony.
For his part, Simon maintains the show is harmful to his children. "I don't believe it is in our children's best interest to be exploited in this way," he said.
Stick to your guns, Simon.
In other news, a letter from production to Simon was leaked this week asking him to shoot a staged scene in which he gets ice cream with the children then exchanges them with Tamra. It is but one of many pieces of evidence that show how fake the Real Housewives is.

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 213 of 213 Newer› Newest»NJGal -- Check with Amazon anyway. There is a special offers version of the Kindle paperwhite, and they can turn it on for you. I think every version of Kindle except for the 1st gen. has a special offers option.
PJ -- You're right about checking out Amazon buys before purchase. A lot of the Amazon Marketplace dealers jack up the prices there, plus with the set shipping fees, you can wind up paying more. When looking for used books or DVDs, I've found the exact same vendor listing on alibris or abebooks or goHastings for less, plus sometimes, with free shipping. Also, on the other sites, you get a break on s/h fees when you purchase multiple items from the same vendor, where you don't get that same break on Amazon Marketplace. I don't know if that's due to Amazon policies or the vendors'. Amazon is a great place to shop and you find terrific bargains there, but it pays to check out other options first. If they aren't "shipped and sold" by Amazon or aren't "fulfilled by Amazon", you may find it for less elsewhere.
I like to read the customer reviews on Amazon before deciding to buy a product or book. There are usually pro and con comments listed. I find this helpful. For example, I was going to buy the steam mop with 5 attachments 'as seen on TV' but many people said how flimsy it was and broke very quickly, so I didn't.
Many companies simply list their products on Amazon in duplicate. This also means that if you are interested in seeing if there are any coupon codes out there, you will have to use them on the retailer's site, not Amazon which doesn't allow outside coupon codes.
I recently bought some mittens on Amazon that have flipped tops so you can text, take photos, use your hands. They're called Twittens. Then I discovered had I gone to their actual web site I could have used a 10% off coupon code. It was only a few bucks so I didn't sweat it, but still annoying.
I assume also that Amazon takes a small cut of what they are selling there. So if you want to support the actual company and the price is the same, you should go to their web site where no one is taking a cut.
Bitchy Pants - I paid the extra amount to have the ads turned off on my paperwhite because I didn't really like them. I guess I'll just have to check the lightning deals. My son is grown and not married so I really only look for things for myself and my husband. I mostly look for things that qualify for Prime. I've never been disappointed in the prices that I've gotten.
Martina McBride canceled her SeaWorld show!
Word, Simon, word!
“I will not sign the consent form for my eight year old daughter or my other children, to participate on the Shows, because I know the negative impact and consequences it will have on their health and well being.”
Simon is firing back at Tamara, stating that the children are too young to decide for themselves whether they should be on the RHOC show, and they can not foresee the long-term consequences. Also, they are ridiculed by peers over their mother's behavior on the show.
I'm leaning towards giving Simon more credit for doing this for the right reasons, not just "getting back" at Tamara. I think he's just being a good dad.

I put a good deal of weight on Amazon reviews, and place reviews myself.
When I bought the Kindle Fire for DH, I paid to turn off the ads, but I signed up for the Amazon's Lightning Deals. You can also view what will be going on sale for these deals, and when the deal will start. You find out the deal price when the deal fires.
SeaWorld is getting hit where it hurts. Kudos to all these superstars for using their power for good!
Simon Barney speaks out against having his kids on Reality TV.

Oh boy! Simon has fired off a blistering response to Tamra's petition to film the kids for TRHoOC.
He says: "...the truth is consistently manipulated in the show in order to make the story line more dramatic and to boost ratings.”
Simon charged: “The manipulation and falsification of original statements and actions results in a negative perception from the public and it destroys one’s reputation.” That's reality tv today in a nutshell.
Tamra says the 8 yr old wants to film (the 2 teens don't) and Simon says she's "... too young” and “unable to make a decision on her own regarding her participation in the show as she does not understand the consequences it may have.” Amen.
I never liked Simon on the show, but I always felt he was the better parent at making smart decisions where the kids involvement in the show was concerned. I hope he stays the course and the court backs his right to veto her in decisions like this.

Go Simon!
Radar says they have the whole court filing but I don't see that they've linked to it, they appear to just be quoting it. I'd love to see the whole thing.
Simon said what I said! When they were filming years ago he was PRESENT and could protect them and in one instance in fact had to remove his daughter from the filming. If they film again he will not be there and that is an issue for him. I find him a bit more sincere after reading the quotes from his response. I think he really is concerned about the trash he is exposing his young kids to.
Simon's personality could be very no-nonsense, authoritative, controlling, and serious. But that's how he was with Tamra. Maybe he just wasn't in love with her anymore. Maybe he was just unhappy. What we never saw was him behaving poorly around his children.
It doesn't mean he is a bad father. In fact I'm beginning to think he's a very good father for standing up for them like this.
Tucker, I'm leaning that way too. It would be hard to sort of "make up" this kind of insight into reality T.V. and the consequences just to get back at your ex. He provided specific examples of why it was harmful. He explained why he was okay with filming before and why it has changed. He showed insight and just plain common sense into why an eight year old would want to do reality T.V. (she has to sit out fun activities otherwise). He described how this is a legal decision of intense consequence and under CA law such legal decisions must be made jointly.
I believe him.
I know someone who started working at an Amazon fulfillment center in Virginia when it opened. The company has centers in different regions to decrease shipping time to customers. The person I know likes the job, and I was fascinated by how many different products they stock. There is a lot of automation in the center, but a real live human packs the orders to make sure they are correct.
