This week Kate and the twins are on the cover of People. The twins insist they are not damaged by reality T.V.

True. and the thing is that siblings tease each other. It could have been said with no malicious intent. They are kids. What bothers me is that Kate did absolutely nothing to stop this, nor did she say "please don't print that." Her problem since the beginning of time has been that she can't think ahead. She lives in the moment without any thought that there may be repercussions or consequences to her decisions.
No responsible parent would allow an interview with a child without guidelines being set, with questions that are off limits. The two Kates are adults. They should know that comments from young teens may be taken out of context, especially in this saga that is so controversial. It never should have happened.

I am disgusted by TFW's latest attempt to remain relevant by using her twins to do so, she has no boundaries or limitations. I agree with many of the posters here who believe these girls were manipulated by their own mother. This is a woman who has always related success directly with income. Without fame and fortune, these teens have likely been told that all their lives will look a whole lot different if they don't tow the line.
I suspect we will see more of this unless she is court-ordered to stop the exploitation of minor children.

Their mom regularly throws there mother under the bus, and if Jon's asshole comments are something he would say to a journalist, he is probably also saying it at home---whether it is reported or not. Jon did a great job staying out of the public, and I can see where this latest stunt, combined with the lawsuit, would put him over the edge. My guess is that the "I warned you" was retaliation for going on Couple's Therapy and talking about her. The "conversation" with Peop Le took place in November, so that's how the timing looks to me. Can't say I blame Jon for losing it--I don't think even Mother Theresa would have kept her cool. It just wish that jOn would think about whether the thing he is about t or do is going to help or hurt his kids.

This has kind of bothered me all last night and all day today. The cover of People shows Kate and her daughters, front and center, an article about Demi and her younger man and Kesha's rehab. Then at the bottom is a photo a of US Veteran who is disabled and his amazing "Walking Suit".
Kind of puts things in perspective. As far as I am concerned, Kate and her kids should take a huge back seat to our troops and veterans. They are the ones who deserve to be front and center on the front of People, not some overbearing, selfish greedy woman and her bratty kids.
I'm sorry but I do a lot to support our troops and our veterans and I get tired of seeing celebs and pseudo celebs getting top billing when people who have made sacrafices beyond anything any Hollywood Startlet or single mother in PA. can even imagine. Our troops and veterans are so much more precious than Jon, Kate and the 8 Gosselins or anything they have to say.
I say that because our veterans and active duty military have done something that none of the Gosselins have or ever will do (or any celebrity), and that is make a choice to do something that is bigger than themselves. They do it humbly and quietly and without ceremony.
So in a word, instead of Kate's mug being on the cover of People, I think the disabled Veteran and his walking machine should have had the main cover and put Kate and her kids somewhere on the bottom.
Is it possible that TFW has finally grasped that the shield of 'mom of 8' no longer protects from public criticism? She probably thinks that the media will not criticize her young teens. Networks might like controversial adults, but who is going to risk being seen as exploiting young girls? No One! Not even Dance Moms would go there--and they pretty much will go anywhere. The adults are fair game, but children are OFF LIMITS. There are rodents that are more protective of their young than TFW.
I just went to the People magazine site and looked for the article on TFW and the twins. Wow, wow, wow. They really buried it and made it difficult to find, unless you really were searching for it. The comments are brutal, and often bizarre. At this point, is People just happy to get any sorts of comments at all? This one did make me laugh though:

I think by 13 you know from school and your peers,even TV, how to behave properly, whether you chose to or not. These are supposedly bright kids. The girls would realize their family is dysfunctional while still loving their mom and probably their dad. I was reading some of the sheeple comments about the People article. I find it difficult to believe that they are really that dumb. There are four or so of them who appear not to be playing with the proverbial full deck. Sometimes I wonder if they really are as stupid as they present themselves to be, or if they are just baiting the haters with their idiotic comments, trying to get them all worked up, then sitting back and laughing, "Gotcha!"
I just find it difficult to believe that some of them are so slow on the uptake, possessing little or no critical thinking ability whatsoever. I'm not referring to Milo, who is an entity unto itself.
Robert says another lawsuit is coming. How does he know? Is it merely a threat or is one actually coming? Seems odd to me. One was supposedly filed the day before Thanksgiving but it's never shown up, and Robert said "coming" not filed. He also said he cannot afford another "frivolous" lawsuit (which it was). Can he afford a non-frivolous one?
Sounds like he's stuck without a publisher and can't afford to self-publish.

This interview just breaks my heart. It would appear Kate has completed her mission of alienating the twins from their father. I guess she can begin working on the younger ones now.
I don't find it at all believable that the twins don't remember anything about the divorce. My son was 4 when we divorced and he remembers his dad moving out (okay, mainly because his dad moved into an apt with a Murphy bed .. uber fun for a 4-year-old .. but he remembers.) And we were completely civil and remain so to this day.
Having said that, it makes me question this whole interview. How many times were the twins answering a question and mommy interjected or poked or prodded to get them to give a different answer? People Mag doesn't seem to be unbiased when it comes to Kate .. so we will never know the answer to that question. The whole thing is just so heartbreaking.
It's snowing again in Indiana, on our already crappy snow/ice packed roads. Temp is up to 19 though, so I guess I shouldn't whine, but I will ... I'm ready for sunny and 70 and it's only January 9th!

Teflon Kate. When will she finally get what she deserves? Apparently she succeeded with lawsuits causing Robert much legal debt. He can't find a publisher because they don't want to be sued. I'm glad he finally spoke out as to his silence and I wish him well in regards to his health issues, but I don't think his book will ever see the light of day. No wonder the people who know what she is will not speak out.
Girls at age 13 are sometimes not very nice, and Mady and Cara are probably not any different, but I think those two are worse if that People article is accurate. They sound just like her, mean and entitled. Robert hasn't been anywhere near those girls in recent years so maybe they were sweet once, but not now. I cannot agree him in regards to not criticizing the girls. Sure, it's not their fault, but I hope when they mature they look back on these times and realize how they were bribed and coached.
I just read Robert's update. I certainly hope his health improves. No doubt the stress of this last lawsuit has not been good for his health.
The upcoming lawsuit? I wish we knew more, but it will come out one of these days. And when he said his legal debt was in the mid-five figures, wow--I wonder how much Kate's was. She had to have a lot more legal work done than Robert, so this must have cost her in the six figures. I certainly hope that the money from this Poeple magazine interview didn't go toward legal fees. That would be just too sick--having the twins publicly bash their father and sister to make money to pay for their mother to file a bogus lawsuit against their father and his friend. Wasn't there a link somewhere that allowed people to contribute to Robert's legal fund? I wonder if he'll put that back up somewhere. He's fighting the good fight. I know I would help out.

Agree. Robert always has reasons to stall. I understand his position is difficult, but I doubt this book will be re-released and edited. I have the original on my kindle app. He's going to have to keep updating as the drama continues to unfold. I also agree with whoever said they don't care for the teasers he puts up.

Kate Coyne was on Katie C. today at the end of the show, doing a People mag this week recap (regular segment weekly??) and Coyne said Kate's covers while not *the* best sellers, are "up there", so yes, Kate sells People magazine.

Please can we have a new post on Couples Therapy? I want to see if cray-cray Farrah mentions her child at all, and to count how many more times Taylor drags her deceased husband thru the mud.
We have to remember a lot of the divorce was happening at pretty crazy times for them. At one point they were going on filming trips every couple months plus all the regular filming. Kate was gone a TON so she wouldn't be around much for them to witness divorce drama. At some point Jon stopped the filming but they still had school all day and filming resumed quickly again. They also had full time nannies who could keep them on the school and filming track at all times, with no time to be aware much of divorce drama. I think their lives were way more whirlwind than most kids so I believe them when they sort of imply that the divorce was a blur. To them I believe it very well could have been.

I truly regret having ever watched J & K plus 8. I wish I didn't even know their names. Still remember the first time I felt "taken in" by these people. They need to be out of any spotlight what so ever. Another money grab is all they are about. What will it take for them to fade in to private life? If Kate runs out of money, would that make a difference? We never hear about the other regulars on the show like: Carla, Beth Carson, Jodi and Kevin. Somehow they manage to avoid the spotlight.
Has anyone else noticed that on the trailers for Honey Boo Boo, TLC has them traveling in a motor home? Pete and repeat those story lines! Where is any creativity? Are we going to see the end of the "Reality" shows any time soon?

I bet she still has a huge stash of cash when they spoke and sold pictures, would not be surprised. I don't think she is short on money, back when she was friends with the Carson's, and the dough began rolling in, I bet that Beth's successful husband likely gave them advice, or pointed them to someone who does investing in stocks and gold, etc.
I do believe that TFW spent hours with her BBF daughters, getting more friendly and less motherly, brainwashing them against their dad. Just as I can't prove my statement, neither can the other side prove theirs that WOS sells magazines. My good common sense however, tells me it simply isn't possible that enough people would purchase a People magazine to read about someone they cannot stand.

Wasn't the divorce in June of 2009? They would have been out of school by the end of May, and the filming was stopped in October of that year. Kate Plus 8 started filming in May of 2010, if I recall. What were they doing between October of 2009 and May of 2010?

I see what Robert is saying about not being upset with the twins but they are not toddlers. They are getting to an age where it's time to start being responsible for what comes out of your mouth. Even at 13 you can really hurt someone. I see no reason to name call but I think it is important to call them out. There's a difference. I think they do need to understand their words have consequences and that being a public figure, if this is what they'd like, comes with a lot of responsibility. The problem is at what age is it okay to say something about it? By that time it may be too late. It may be better they realize what they say is not right today, rather than at 16 or 18. And it just may give them something to think about in terms of who is brainwashing them to say this nonsense if they hear the general public did not appreciate it.

If you believe she really has children. She's like Kate. She forgets the stories she's put out here. Either that, or she's so deep into her obsession with Kate that there are two sets of standards...one for Kate's household where Kate is perfect, and everything the kids do is normal, and one for her own family, where LOM rules with an iron fist.

First they need a mother with some moral responsibility and oh maybe some parenting smarts.
Rule number one is to tell your children not to discuss private family matters outside the family or a therapist, or if necessary an authority figure who is in a position to help you if the other options aren't available. But seeing as though Kate's entire existence depends on blabbering her children's personal life to the public, that idea removes all hope they'll learn anything but the same from her.

It was her cover story and of course she wants to spin it that it did spectacular. Yet I didn't hear any actual numbers. Pony them up. She fancies herself as sort of a Gosselin expert has spoken about this saga many times and I think somewhere along the way journalism ethics were blurred and she started identifying with Kate. I think she has twins herself and took the comments personally when she shouldn't have. (No one was talking about YOU)
And she should know something. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. People could also sell a lot of magazines by putting a naked lady on the cover too. But that's not journalism nor is that a story, and neither was this.

We discovered it Greedy because Jon himself said so. He made a statement some time ago that he tried to stop the Australia trip but the judge shut him down because of their contract. Further we had the court docket that confirmed that. You can find the court docket we posted here awhile back that shows this man has brought her to court dozens of times and even once asked the judge to hold her in contempt. He has not sat on his hands and the docket proves it.
And unless you tell your child to watch their mouths and get some respect this kind of behavior will continue on and on to future generations.

Milo, I know you read her so I want to give you a tip. If you're using bottled water for your sponge bath (and i assume you are because you had two "busted pipes")' guess what...it doesn't have to be cold! You can heat it gently on the stove so that it's a nice warm temperature, pour it in the sink and voilà a warm sponge bath. You're welcome.
I'm wondering if this People magazine will sell, or whether people will be turning them around in the racks again. I won't get any info from DS#2 (the one who works at Costco). He works summers and school breaks, but now is back at college.

I love the pic of your little drama queen (king)! Pets are so entertaining, aren't they? My little psycho kitty (Lucy) was spastic with glee at all the boxes and gift bag from Christmas. She loves to take a running start and dive headfirst into them. We didn't have the heart to throw them all out, and just left a bunch of them scattered all over for her. Once they are destroyed by rough play, they go into the recycling bin. Sadly for her, they were all gone (and my house looks so clean without them!). But...today a delivery man showed up with a box for me to sign for. Lucy spotted the box in his hands and came tearing down the hallway and tried to scramble up his leg, trying to get at that box. Freaked him out! Once I unpacked the box (with a howling kitty at my feet), I put the box on the floor, and she went wild! She stalks it first--peeking around the corner from the back hall, getting ready to spring, then shoots out across the floor and dives in so there's just her back legs and twitching tail sticking out. Then she backs out, scrambles down the hall, and does it all over again. She's more entertaining than TV.

The thing is, my dd was disrespectful to me at 13. She had been a happy, cooperative kid til her sm brainwashed her. But guess what. She got the door taken off her room, the phone taken away, grounded, and sent to therapy. Left unchecked, especially if/when the twins' wants exceed what TFW is willing or able to provide (because it WILL just increase), "you're so annoying" will turn into "you're such a bitch" and "fuck you" in the later teen years.

Layla, loved the story about your kitty and the boxes. I had a kitty once who adored boxes and who couldn't keep her paws off of tissues or toilet paper. One night I was awakened by a terrible racket coming from the living room. I was sure someone was breaking in. I grabbed the cordless phone and slunk down the hall, quaking in my slippers. There in the living room, banging into furniture and knocking things over, was my kitty, with her head stuck in a tissue box. Took both of us an hour or two to recover from that one.
