Jon's response: "I just feel horrible for my twins. You would only know as a parent. I wish I could've rescued them. I only knew they were doing Today early this morning. It looked like the twins had a moral dilemma -- 'are we supposed to say it now? Or Maybe we shouldn't say that.' I'm here for them, I love them. They could call me with anything in the world. When I see them for custody next week I'm gonna hug them and ask how's school - I'm going to be a parent first thing."

Kate doesn't actually say "use" your words. Notice she says "Mady, your words!" Meaning your scripted words/lines. Say them! She just couldn't say "your lines" or it would be a giveaway that they had scripted lines.
****
Thank you - when I first watched the clip, I too thought Kate told Mady to "use your words." But you are right, it was just "your words." I also noticed that Kate patted Mady on the knee at one point. The pat was gentle but it seemed to make Cara uncomfortable all the same. I'm sure in private, the "pats to the knee" are much harsher.
Wonder what would have happened if TFW had brought the tups on for the show? I know the boys would be silent, but maybe the girls would have talked...too much for TFW's liking.
I was reading the sheep's spin on this. So Sandie told Lauren (a big butt-kisser and quite possibly among the dumbest out there) to STOP? Interesting. I wonder how many of the fans will be leaving the flock after this fiasco. Could it be they finally can see Kate for what she is? I don't know, but Kate really put the nail in her coffin this time. She didn't need Jon to do it. She did it to herself.
'
Kate totally contradicted herself on the show today.
She starts by naming all the ways the kids are hurt by the way they are portrayed in the media, etc and how they come to her upset about it, yet when the host asks her if coming on the show just continues the injury Kate says there are no injuries. She just named all the ways the kids are injured! She's insane.
Oh my gosh. I didn't even care about this interview. I thought the girls would give the company line. Who knew???
You all have really nailed it with some excellent catches.
Love that someone caught Kate's stage whisper to Cara and also Kate mouthing the words along with Mady.
Also, great catch about "use your words, Mady being translated to, "Use your words--the words I gave to you." Also, Mady saying, "Do you want me to say it?" meaning the "it" we are supposed to say.
Kate's finally done this time. Now I'm wondering if the girls really said those things in People or if "words were put in their mouths," if you know what I mean. Or maybe the person is right who said that the girls were enjoying the make-up and lighting and fun foods and whatever else went into the interview--then they saw the words in print.
In any event, I think Kate has just made herself a bigger fool than when she did "Paparazzi" in the forklift (or whatever that thing was, lol).
Good luck, girls. Stand together against the witch. She can probably be heard screaming from 2.5 miles away.
Oh, and kudos to Sandiebellz for being brave enough to stand up to the Queen!

So, Admin, we're on day #16 of 2014 and you have HOW MANY items for her year-end "worst of" list?
Inside edition is now slamming Kate--HAHAHAh

Dr. Lillian Glass weighs in.
We'll have to agree to disagree. Of course he has the "right" to laugh. That doesn't mean it's the "right" thing to do, however. After seeing your kids go through an incredibly awkward experience on national television, IMO your empathy for your kids should outweigh your need for an "I told you so" victory dance.

This is THE BEST comment of the day! Just about choked when I read it!
Dr. Lillian Glass speaks:
http://hollywoodlife.com/2014/01/16/kate-gosselins-children-are-emotionally-intimidated-on-today-show/
What Kate hoped to hear from the twins on Today was praise for her and further bashing of their Dad. What did she hear? Crickets.
Kate is no longer the "mastermind" of Gosselin world. Her "minions" are taking charge.
IF TFW insists upon taking the girls on The View Monday, then I hope it is a repeat performance. It would be awful for the girls, but fact is, we can't stop her from doing it. If she does, and it is a repeat performance, then maybe it will be a wake-up call to TFW's media supporters (People mag, The View, Today show) that they really are contributing to the exploitation of children. I am so sick of the party line of "She is a single mom with 8 kids, she needs to put food on the table", meaning that she NEEDS to beg for a new show. But maybe they will wake up and realize that these kids are real people, not just some extension of TFW. And that shoving them out in the public eye may be causing them some real damage. And then, maybe, they will stop hounding the G kids and allow them some peace. Those kids are not responsible for keeping their mom in the public eye. They are not responsible for supporting the family. The media just needs to leave them alone.
Yes, this is definitely a contender for the 2014 list of Kate's Best Moments.

Dr. Glass thinks the girls purposefully tried to embarrass their mom on national TV. We can only hope that if the girls took charge of this TV appearance, it will somehow feel like a win for them. I hope so.
"“They were obviously manipulated into this, they had many opportunities to speak,” Dr. Glass told us. “There’s one thing they did, when they are eye to eye in anger looking right at each other. I think the girls succeeded in embarrassing their mother on national TV.”

Is Jon going to Family Court?
Jon Gosselin says he felt TERRIBLE for his daughters for having to appear on the "Today" show with Kate this morning ... telling TMZ the whole thing was "horrible" to watch.
Gosselin appeared on "TMZ Live" moments ago and said Kate's humiliating meltdown on live TV this morning shows exactly why the kids shouldn't be forced to participate in a lengthy publicity tour with their mother.
"I’m going to handle this as a family matter," Jon said ... adding, "I don’t want to affect the children anymore."
What I don't get is why Deanna is still hitching herself up to TFWs 'fading star'. Deanna is in the industry and TFW is circling the drain.
I think Admin was right the other day. Jon going public with all of this is the only way to get Kate's attention. Nothing else has worked.

On the Today Show, her twin girls Mady and Cara, who I guess were born without their moms innate ability to smile and lie, went stone cold silent when prompted with pre-arranged questions about how normal, nice, and down-home their mom and family are.
Jon reacts:
The twins' father Jon also issued a statement on the Today interview: "I just feel horrible for my twins. You would only know as a parent. I wish I could've rescued them. I only knew they were doing Today early this morning. It looked like the twins had a moral dilemma -- 'are we supposed to say it now? Or Maybe we shouldn't say that.' I'm here for them, I love them. I support Jon's public statement of support for his girls. M+C must be dying inside.
Puberty and teen years are hard enough, now they have to contend with what's being called the most awkward tv interview in Today show history.
It was the silence heard 'round the world.
Jon Gosselin -- Kate Put Our Kids in 'Horrible' Situation
Phone interview can be heard by clicking on the big picture http://www.tmz.com/2014/01/16/jon-gosselin-kate-kids-today-show/
That statement from Jon was perfect. He can rest easy almost everyone gets it now. His job is to hug those kids and take care of everything else quietly in front of the judge. Thank you Jon.
I think we should wait to comment on what Jon may or may not say. For all we know, he says positive things about his girls and asks people respect their privacy.
The thing that stands out to me and I don't think anyone has commented on yet was when Savanah tried to get Kate to back off. She was goading them to toe the company line and said "spit it out" and the interviewer said "It's hard, it's a hard question" . . . Kate ignored her for a good second or two and then looked up and Savanah and squeeked "Oh!"
It's like everyone in the room could feel how uncomfortable the girls were. Someone from production was probably whispering in Savanah's ear to rescue them. And Kate tried to ignore it and press on. Then it clicked. "hey, somebody just called me on my bad parenting" and she was shocked and unsure how to recover.
Even Al Qaeda knows you don’t just grab a Westerner and put them on camera to talk about how the U.S. is the Great Satan. No, they rehearse with their kidnap victim, they practice, they lay down some vicious and brutal beatings to completely break the spirit. Then they turn on the cameras.

Well she's not that far off in her treatment of her kids, all the more atrocious that THEY ARE HER CHILDREN.
Perfectly said Jon. Perfect! If WE feel/see their pain, their nerves, their body language? I can't imagine what HE saw and felt. Remember him grabbing Joel from the laundry room floor when he got home from work???
To the blogger above who thinks that today is Friday, for the record today is Thursday.
As for whether or not Jon was hinting that he will go to family court regarding this matter, I'm going to assume that he will try to get an ex parte hearing for tomorrow and based upon all the comments and video as evidence Jon and his attorney might be able to prevent the twins from appearing on The View on Monday.
I think Jon needs to speak about this. We all know Kate would sell her soul(if she had not already done so) to the devil, for a chance to be on TV. Those girls are going to have to deal with school mates, on tuesday. Even Honey Boo boo , can do a half-way decent interview(and she is younger). I think perhaps the twins had talked to Jon, sometime before going on and he reminded them to tell the truth. Poor kids stuck between a rock & a hard place. Kate made fools of the girls and an ass of herself, and proved what Jon has been saying. She exploits them, uses them as props, all for her own gain, tups are not interesting any more so now focus on twins.
I would not be too surprised if the twins did not show up on the View and Kate says they are sick, and are staying in the hotel.
Boy, this is Kates revenge war on Jon.

Perfect response Jon. Don't get down in the trenches with TFW and remember that your first duty is to protect your children. They have no one but you to turn to for a soft shoulder and security. You don't have to say a word in retaliation, simply let TFW continue to prove everything you've already said about her continued exploitation of the kids.

Thanks for that link. Jon sounded so shocked, upset and most of all, sad.
THIS is what a real parent sounds like when something so horrible happens to their children, not rainbow and unicorn farts.
Kate should have owned that disaster and said she'd be taking care of her poor twins, not whoops, stage fright!!
I feel for Jon, I really do. How exhausting it must be to deal with a lecherous ex-wife when you have 8 kids.
He didn't even know they were in NYC doing this interview.
Think about it- M+C must have been so excited, and yet, they didn't share this with Jon?
Doesn't add up. It's a big deal- big trip, live tv, national interview... and not one word breathed to Jon.
Jon said he's not sure what he will do. On the one hand, this dragging the twins around on a press tour is inappropriate and shouldn't have happened in the first place, but, will involving the courts upset the girls more?
This folks, is called insight, something that Kate seems incapable of.
Whether intentional or not, today's sullen silent interview makes these two CHILDREN absolute HEROES in my book, (and I suspect many of yours as well). Certainly, there will be both a public and private price to pay, but their sacrifice today may be what finally saves the future of all of the Gosselin children and (possibly even their parents).
I know there's a ton out their today, but this amusing gawker article sums it up deliciously. Enjoy!

Babylegs
CRIMANY. That video could make hell freeze over. I know John's no prince, but being married to this woman must have been (and still be) absolute misery. In every piece of media I've seen her participate in, this is her attitude. Stone cold anger, self-victimization, and this shrill, arresting tension in her face. Even this very fucking interview turned into its own sad story, with Kate pointing fingers at her own daughters "You know I didn't force them! I asked them! 'Mady, Cara, would you like to do the Today Show?' [surprised pained look]" It must be so hard to fling yourself at gossip rags and then fling yourself at mediocre morning shows to promote the fact that you're still flinging yourself at gossip rags. 43 minutes ago
I got to wonder if this will affect Kate Coyne at People because OBVIOUSLY these girls were trained to parrot mom's words. Either Kate Coyne is an imbecile or she just does not write the truth. Wouldn't a real story be how these children are intimidated by their bitch of a mother? Couldn't she even see these kids were not speaking their own feelings? Maybe they were more comfortable in a photo shoot and just speaking with a reporter (they've known for years) but live TV? No way. They are self-conscious teens.
Poor girls. They will be teased in school, no doubt. Instead of comforting them, Kate rolls her eyes to the strangers on set. Way to go. Man, I hope those girls are not forced to appear on The View.
Jon was very diplomatic when he had EVERY opportunity to throw TFW under the bus. I applaud him for that.
I felt a bit teary eyed when he said he wished he was in NYC so he could be there and tell them that they didn't have to do this. He is trying so hard to do his best under some AWFUL conditions.

I wish Jon could get a hearing to order a psych eval of the twins (well, all the kids) before this can go on and happen again.
Jon will be in NYC tomorrow doing press about this, however.
And that is unconditional love and maturity. He mentioned what they said about them in People, and said he still loves them always has, always will. They are his kids
Jon said he's not sure what he will do. On the one hand, this dragging the twins around on a press tour is inappropriate and shouldn't have happened in the first place, but, will involving the courts upset the girls more?
This folks, is called insight, something that Kate seems incapable of.
-----
And the thing is that he didn't bash Kate, although he easily could have. When Harvey asked him about Kate being angry and she looked like she was going to come unglued during the interview, Jon explained that Kate has a problem handling stress and it may manifest itself in different ways.
You could hear in his voice how upset he was about this, especially when he said he wished he could have taken the girls and said that they didn't need to do this. Gosh, my heart goes out to him and the twins. The girls were caught between a rock and a hard place. They aren't mature enough to know what to do in this situation -- when Mom is telling them what to say, but they know it's not how they feel. What a position to find themselves in...and on national television.
Good Grief, I may be wrong, but I thought that when Savannah said it's a hard question, Kate was taken aback and said, "NO!" As, in, no, how they are doing is not a hard question, it's easy, everything's just peachy. I'll have to watch that part again.
He spoke from the heart, off the cuff, no preparation. He was blindsided and he managed to be AUTHENTIC and truthful. That bitch has oodles and oodles of time to practice and go over what she's going to say and she always comes across as lying and deceiving. She lies easily, but she's not good at it. Only her anger is authentic. Levin saw that "look". spotted it right off the bat.
Just listened to the TMZ Jon phone interview. Well it is confirmed by Jon, that he has no say in the kids doing interviews on TV or in a magazine. I do how he has a say about another reality show or TV show? Jon thinks the twins were bribed, to go on the talk show, but has no proof. He also was asked if Kate who seem angry at the twins for not performing, was angry amd Jon said yes, and went on to explain Kate type of anger/ stress. Everybody should listen to it.

Sorry, honey, America SAW the interview. These kids didn't have stage fright as much as it was they may have grown a conscience and realized throwing daddy under the bus on national tv isn't right.
Now, Monday on The View may be an entirely different story. We shall see how this plays out, but if I were Kate I would cancel the appearance on The View and let this just all go away. Take your box o'wine and curl up in bed for a few days, Katie.

@xxxxxx LOL. Have you ever had the opp to do Live tv? It can be scary! M and C were honored to be interviewed 2 celebrate #teenageyrs
***************************************
Not really sure how interview would be "celebrating teenage years"? Doesn't even make sense. Exactly what about celebrating teenage years was brought up?
That is probably the redirected goal for Monday. Although that won't fly, either, because they've been teens for all of what, a few months? People are just going to say from now on that they were coached (even if they weren't).
I'm sure those lovely young ladies WERE excited about being on tv, to be honest - being around teenagers daily, I know most would think it's "cool". But again, it's the REASON they were on. Nothing about teens - maybe they thought that was going to be discussed but it derailed when they wouldn't talk. (I give kudos to the interviewer, she did her best to get through what she could.)
Jon did a call in interview to TMZ and it was awesome and through TFW under the bus so bad that the oil pan said get the blank out!
Jon said he doesn't have primary custody and he couldn't do anything and he wished so bad that he was in NYC so he could grab them and tell them they didn't have to do it. Harvey and Mike, the guy with the dreads, were just stunned at what they saw on the video.
Jon, He is devastated! He is beside himself. If the View allows the interview with TFW AND the girls, they deserve every bit of backlash they will get x 2000. Even the Today Show is getting flack. But that is a heads up for the View.
Radaronline is saying TFW asked them right after, what happened, and they each shrugged their shoulders. They said she was TICKED OFF. They said every thing went well when they came in and was waiting to go on.
Her looks have really went down since 2009. That unchecked mental illness, drinking, smoking, botoxing, plastic surgeries on the face, hair coloring, tanning, diet, stressing out on everything has taken a brutal toll on her face.
Valerie Bertinelli is 51 I think. She looks 35 or 36 compared to TFW.
I can just see the View now. TFW walking out BEFORE the girls and the girls behind they come out and walk a little bit, then turn around and go back stage. OR when they get to the couch after a minute or two and someone (Sheri) asks them about what kind of car does your dad drive now, because I am going to set it on fire and blow it up!!! Then they get up and run out. TFW would have to be hospitalized.
I FEEL SO BAD FOR THOSE GIRLS! To put that kind of stress, embarrassment and angst on them, she's MENTALLY ILL!
She needs a mental health intervention. Get on Dr. Drew kate. He will know how to help you.

I lived in a fire prone area for years and I did see several fires up close including people's homes burning I knew. It was scary but it was also a beautiful and wonderful place to live so that was the trade off.

Yes, this is definitely a contender for the 2014 list of Kate's Best Moments.
*************************
Thinking of all the years of "Best" moments, I think this will be her top worst moment ever.
I just watched a clip of the interview. And now I am even sadder for these girls. Girls who looked so uncomfortable, but normal, compared to their amped up, plasticine mother. They, in their normalcy, makes her look so much more fake and 'fixed'. I sincerely hope their father is able to do something to stop this madness from continuing.
Think about it- M+C must have been so excited, and yet, they didn't share this with Jon?
Doesn't add up. It's a big deal- big trip, live tv, national interview... and not one word breathed to Jon.
The kids have been keeping secrets from friends, family and the public since 2008. That's a long time to perfect the technique. I remember the family going to get passports when there was talk about going to Korea and Kate hissing at them because they were talking loud enough for people to hear what they were discussing. I think they're so coached about maintaining secrecy, especially with the threat of the spanker always there, that it doesn't even register with them any longer. Had Jon asked them if they were going to NY, I'm sure they would have said something. But, on second thought and thinking about the extent of the parental alienation TFW's done on them, they probably wouldn't have said anything.
Gawd, she makes me nutz.
Look at TFW's body language the first few seconds on the couch. She is clearly worried herself and glancing at both girls making sure they are in check.

"... only knew they were doing Today early this morning.
Jon's statement made me tear up. Thank goodness the children have Jon. There is no redemption for their mother.
I can only imagine the anguish Jon must be feeling.
So hard to have something bad happen to your children that you can do nothing about. Whether it's a health issue or an accident...or a TFW.
The comment above where someone said Jon must be laughing himself silly....I took that in the spirit in which it was intended and smiled to myself. If it wasn't for his two innocent children being hurt, I bet he would have been laughing himself silly.
But with his children in pain, I bet he cried...a la Kendra.

Here's Jon's response. http://www.tmz.com/videos/0_cydq50ws
*******************************************************************************
Oh snap! Someone got their cable hooked up just in time (he said on WW he didn't have cable/wasn't hooked up yet due to the recent move). One of the first questions TMZ asked was if he has seen the interview and he responded that he and Liz had watched it while they were lying in bed. He was just matter-of-fact about it, nothing salicious. That is enough right there to make TFW gash her teeth. He's moved on, found love, and is doing just fine living a normal life.
Now, I have some questions, especially for the legal minds.
1. Will TFW and the twins stay another day or even the weekend in order to hit all the media shows or can they hit the rest of them today?
They could go to school tomorrow and then go back up on Sunday to the View.
2. What is an ex-parte hearing exactly? Does TFW have to be present if Jon goes to Family Court tomorrow for an injunction to keep the twins off the View on Monday?
3. If these shows continue to give TFW, with or without the twins, airtime are they likely to be subpoenaed for any court cases? I'm thinking Jon will be going for custody within a year or some of the kids are going to be asking to live with him soon.
Is there now a chance for Jon to modify the custody agreement to include his request to not film the older girls without his consent?
Suzy
I watched again and caught TFW hissing, "Cara" right as the show began. I don't think Cara was at all happy about all the drilling TFW must have done for this, and just decided she wasn't going to participate. Kind of, "You can't make me say that. In fact, I'm not saying anything at all". She looked sad and defiant at the same time.
Funny thing about the girls' hair. Both had their hair over to the side--to TFW's side, so that each could kind of hide from her behind their hair.
I so hope Jon can put a stop to the View appearance on Monday. It would just be cruel to subject them to that after today.
I can't believe that TFW is still saying she and the kids will decide as a family about filming again. They have gone years without a show, and she's still acting like they're going to get an offer. Of course, Jon just said (on WW, I think) that he would object to the kids filming again. So, of course TFW has to go on TV and act like Jon has no say in whether the kids film or not.

This comment made me laugh. About the only thing I found humorous regarding this situation :)
Jon's statement made me tear up. Thank goodness the children have Jon. There is no redemption for their mother.
-------------------
I only hope that tonight there is a buffer present between Kate and the girls. Heaven knows what they are going through right now.
Hey, Milo. You've said many times that everyone the world over loves Kate. Where was that love today? Didn't think so...
One thing Jon said in his phone interview was "I know it was going to be a long media day". Does that mean that TFW was planning to drag the girls on more shows? She does that pretty often herself--goes to NYC for one show, then also does shows like ET and Access Hollywood. Maybe that's what she had planned, but realized it wasn't a good idea. Or maybe those shows caught wind of what happened and decided not to put the girls on. I haven't heard of them being on anything else today...hard to tell.
Look at TFW's body language the first few seconds on the couch. She is clearly worried herself and glancing at both girls making sure they are in check.
-----------
She clearly looks like a bomb ready to explode, but she knows she has to keep her anger in check. If this is how she looks when she's angry and ready to go off, I bet those kids keep as far away from her as possible. When she's angry and not in control she reminds me of the Incredible Hulk. "Don't make me angry. You won't like me when I'm angry." Funny if that blouse would have ripped right off her chest, David Banner style!
As predicted, the super fans come to TFW with nonsense comparisons to their own lives, and their kids' lives. You know why those comparisons don't work? Because they did not happen on live TV, in front of millions of people, and recorded for posterity. But go ahead and insinuate yourselves into this situation, ladies, if it makes you feels like you're supporting TFW. In this topsy-turvy drama, your predictability is strangely comforting.
Jon said he doesn't have primary custody and he couldn't do anything and he wished so bad that he was in NYC so he could grab them and tell them they didn't have to do it.
------------
He said he doesn't have "legal" custody. There is a difference between legal custody and primary physical custody.

It has been an OMG week on this blog. Worked most nights this week and every time I got a break I read here.
When I check in around 2am, could not believe what I was reading about TFW and twins on Today Show. Got home this morning just in time for the interview.
Didn't have time to read all comments but OMG, all the gossip sites have something to say. Good, bye, bye Kate!
Don't know if this was mentioned but now I understand why Jon is speaking out and took a gig on CT. He is protecting his children. He knew his appearance would get him some couch time and that would make TWF spit fire. He is no dummy, he knows exactly what he is doing.
My heart was breaking when he was talking with TMZ. His heart is in the right place. Now we have to see what happens on the shows tomorrow.
WOW, what a week, Admin thanks for keeping this coming.

)))
You could tell he was choosing his words carefully because he kept saying ummmmm before answering. It struck me that I don't think I've ever heard TFW say she loves her kids.
--------------
I'm still not sure why they were on this show. If it was to discuss the teenage years, then why weren't they asked about the activities in which they participate, or the music they listen to, favorite sports teams, or what they do for fun. I wonder if they would have talked then. The whole thing was so disjointed, with no purpose whatsoever.
Go Sylvia LaFair! Gerrrrrrrrrrrl, you been quiet so long, say your truth! The world needs to see the delusional woman that Kate really is. F' it! Kate screwed you on her show, and you had no platform to respond.
Tell it!
With the Gosselin name now front and center, NOW is a good time for Robert to bring attention to his unpublished book. Perhaps he can give interviews where he reveals what life is REALLY like in Gosselin land.
"I felt a bit teary eyed when he said he wished he was in NYC so he could be there and tell them that they didn't have to do this. He is trying so hard to do his best under some AWFUL conditions."

LMAO I thought of that too! Not those exact words but,,,
I'm truly scared for the twins, I wonder what Kate will do them tonight. :( I'm sure she's already thought of something. :(
Jon was right when he said Kate doesn't know how to recover when things don't go the way she wants them. Her plan went off the rails in the first 10 seconds of the interview and for the life of her she could not get it back on track. She was thrown for a loop. The girls forgot their lines so she had to say them. She really blew it when she said "I can't speak for them" and then proceeded to speak for them.
There will be hell to pay back at the Konpound.
I feel for Jon, I really do. How exhausting it must be to deal with a lecherous ex-wife when you have 8 kids.

Totally agree and it was sad and disgusting.
Doing a live interview, vs magazine article (where twins can respond to interviewer at any time, after prodding from TFW) does not come close to what the twins said today on a live interview. They barely spoke. And are probably being yelled at right now.
And interview about their teenage years, really? It was all about their desire to film. Cara said nothing, Maddy said little, mostly Kate talking about the "family agenda." Her desire to film Again, sad and disgusting. She will stop at nothing.
The fact is very few kids have "it" or are camera ready. Being in front of cameras is not natural or comfortable for most kids. Add in the factor of a mentally ill mother and parental alienation and it's even worse. I wonder if Missy Francis heard about this.
Thank you to everyone that posted the link to TMZ's interview with Jon, but I am slightly confused- a few of you have mentioned that Jon was asked about Kate's anger, but it was not referenced in the 4 min video I watched. Is there more than one link, or was it a live interview that was edited before it was posted?
Ps. So many astute and insightful comments today!
I wonder if Missy Francis heard about this.

I wonder if Paul Peterson has seen this. Please, anyone with Twitter, tweet these people!
WOW who knew that the twins knows how to help TFW. Great Job!!
I wonder if she will beat them all with the wooden spoon tonight or with something worse. I pray that she doesn't.
Maybe Jon just got the cable hooked up only to his bedroom so he could watch breaking news, important things.
Even though it looks bad for TFW, it also looks bad for STEVE. He is an huge player in enabling that mental maniac. I wonder if Julie May Carson had a hand in getting her on there? Is TFW still a client of hers?
Hope TFW, JMC, Steve enjoy the blood money they made off two mentally and physically abused children today.
I wonder if they went to lunch at NOBU after the interview.
T...59 Thanks for the link to the gawker article. It was good. I suggest anyone who hasn't read it to go read it.
Here's a thought. What if TFW told the girls they were going on the Today show to talk about being teenagers knowing full well that wasn't what the interview was going to be about. Hence the girls being happy and talkative when they first arrived. But then Savannah (love that name!) asks them a question that isn't about being a teenager and they're confused. I'm probably off base but just a thought.
As far as the girls supposedly having stage fright, any loving mother in that situation would have tried to put their child at ease by gently taking their hand, talking to them in a soothing tone or even putting their arm around them. But noooo. Not TFW. There is nothing loving or gentle about TFW. She tells her kid, "your words" and "spit it out." What a %&*#$@* bitch.

I vote this for comment of the day!
I'm actually proud of those girls. They went with their gut. They can't lie as easily as mommy. They love their daddy.
BTW, I'm in my 60s and I still call my parents Mommy and Daddy, especially to my brothers and sisters when we talk about them.
Also, one of my children was very happy on stage and talking to crowds, until she reached puberty. Now she's shy and afraid to perform in front of others. Stage fright isn't unbelievable but, in this case, it's a poor excuse.
Comments on Facebook are all negative, except the ones that blame the interviewer. Yeah, it's HER fault.
It's the lead story right now on "Inside Edition" on the west coast.
Can't bear to watch it -- I'll wait for someone else to comment.
Jon thinks the twins were bribed, to go on the talk show,
-----
-----
He didn't say bribed. Harvey asked him if the kids were 'manipulated' by Kate. Jon said, "In my heart that's what I believe. That's how I feel. Can I prove that? I can't prove it. You can't take my feelings away from me. I feel that way."
A bribe is a promise, as giving gift to a child, to do what you want them to do; to manipulate is to influence or control something in a clever (or dishonest) way.
Could Kate have done both? Certainly...bribing with the promise of receiving something, while manipulating them to say and do what she wanted them to do.

I just watched the interview on the Today website. It was just uncomfortable and unnecessary. I have a sick feeling in my stomach for those girls and the rest of the kids...Their mom is trying so hard to get them on tv you can see the desperation and unfortunately she is using them to stay relevant now. She even commented negatively about their father right in front of them and on as was said before...on National tv.
------
Yes she did, which probably said a lot about live interviews, vs Kate coaching them for the People interview. Sad that Kate went this route, but I think this interview live said a lot as neither would really back her.
Kate said she hadn't "heard' them so 'wordless' all morning. Such gift-o-gab she has!
I still agree with my comment about Jon have a good laugh at the crap that is hitting the fan regarding TFW (which I think he's entitled to BTW), however, I can't help but feel heartsick for him over what that wench is doing to HIS children.

What is that saying about being careful about who you step on on the way up, because you will be seeing them again on the way down?
leading story on Inside Edition was the twins' Today Show interview. There was a clinical psychologist on who said that the girls were afraid to speak because they thought their mother wouldn't approve. If a clinical psychologist watched it and saw fear in them, then I believe the psychologist, not Kate.
A couple of things. First, I also believe both girls had their hair long on the side that Cruella might want to gawk at them and give her stink eye. So sad and obvious. And second, I am now starting to believe the twins didn't really get interviewed by People in the true sense of the word. Maybe they gave short answers to questions and People filled it in with a bunch of crap from Kate. Say this was the case. They may have read the article when it came out but to remember what they read when they didn't actually give the information would be difficult. Hence Mady's inability to recount what she "said" in People. It probably never happened.
The clip was shown on Access Hollywood & they thought it was a good interview. Does anyone else think Billy Bush is an asshole? -LIN-

Actually I had the same thought. Then I thought nah, because she mouthed the words with Mady. Then I thought, BUT she might have had them memorize that for People so I went back to thinking that may be it. They may have had no idea the interview was going to go there.
I also wondered if, instead, they did or didn't know but at some point C told M if she was ever asked anything about such things again she would refuse to answer. M probably didn't believe her but when C actually refused to answer (the long silence) M started laughing and said Cara!. I think M couldn't believe she was actually going through with it.

And TFW acting so manic just made it all look worse. Remember Jack Witherspoon on Hallmark H&G? He is 13. There are kids much younger than M&C on talk shows all the time, and they don't do that. Maybe some very young ones, but not teenagers. These kids are well prepped before shows like this. They weren't in front of an audience. They had their mother right there. They either did this on purpose, or simply couldn't bring themselves to say what TFW told them to say.
Fired Up 4 Kate @MiloandJack 35m
@Kateplusmy8 We all wish best 4all of Kate's kids! It was an experience 4the twins unlike anything they had done b4! Hope overall #POSITIVE

Milo, your best bet at this point is to turn off your computer, close your bedroom door, forget about Kate at least for the next few days, and just shut the heck up. All you are doing is making yourself look like a crazy, love-sick old bat who doesn't know which end is up.
Local I really got a similar vibe. Cara definitely went in with the idea she was not going to say a word. It was not because a question caught her off guard. She went IN thinking nope not talking. I'm sure she mentioned her intentions to Mady. Mady really was looking at her in disbelief like wow she really was going through with it. And because if there's one thing that trumps Kate its loyalty to her twin Mady clamped up too. It really was unbelievable too how blatantly Kate was mouthing the words. Wow Kate try to at least pretend you're not as evil as you are, please?
Jon could have also watched it on his phone or the Internet. Remember I didn't get Today either because of local news coverage but I was able to see it just fine. Id love to have seen his face.
BTW, C and M have really, really naturally beautiful hair. Thick, sleek, and a gorgeous color
Just a thought. Both of the girls hair and heads were arranged so they hid from their mother. And, their mother couldn't look in their faces without craning her neck.
God bless you Lukebandit but he got the cable hook up to watch junk TV just like the rest of us and to watch himself on CT.
Not necessarily. Jon could have very well watched the interview the same way I did - the internet. Or he could have watched via his phone.

@Kateplusmy8 Telling her to "spit it out" was awkward and uncomfortable. I felt bad for them. You want spotlight, they don't... Clearly.
I think the plan was all along to talk about setting the record straight with Kate throwing out some 'teen interest' kind of things as a diversion on twitter. I don't think the script was flipped on them. As someone said earlier today, the producers usually go over the plan for the interview with the guests while they're in makeup or waiting in the green room. I think they reviewed what they were supposed to say last night and this morning.and that's what prompted one of the girls to say to the other something like 'are you going to say it', as if they'd planned who would say which lines in the script/who would start off answering, etc.

He told Harvey on TMZ he watched it live. Unfortunately he had to add that he was lying there with Liz. Anyway he said they were both saying "please say something anything!
I wish Jon would contact the a producer of the View (I am sure he would have a way to contact them as he was just on the show) and ask that given today's events, that they not have his daughters appear on the show. Next, he should publicly state that he has made this request. I think it would put a tremendous amount of pressure on The View to not add "further injury" to Mady and Cara by having them on the show Monday.
Guess what's on the Jane Velex Mitchell show? That's right--the Kate and twins interview. "Kate Plus Two Equals Awkward" on the screen. JVM is bashing Jon for talking to the media about this if he wants to handle it as a private family matter.
Panel discussion:
"Do you think this is a mom using her kids as commodities to get back on television". Answer: "Absolutley!"
"These are great kids. It's the mom that's the problem".
"They made millions on reality TV. This is not about putting food on the table in a tough economy. This was an audition for them, and they failed".
Priceless, I just laughed out loud.

Great response from Jon. :) But I can't help thinking if somewhere deep in M's mind she was thinking, "Should have given me a sip of that water, Bitch." ;)
Oh my.
Jon told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “I wish I was in the next room so I could scoop them up. … Mady kept looking at the ground and Kate was rolling her eyes [with] no sympathy, no empathy, no encouragement, no arm around them. Nothing!”

Be sure to check out the gallery of pictures too. The pictures from today's interview say everything.

Ps. You don't need cable to watch the Today show. It's on an over the air channel and can be watched live on the internet as well.
More from Jane Velez Mitchell:
"Today Kate Trash-talked her ex in front of her kids"
Now a psychologist!
"Word to Kate--turn the cameras off, start being a parent to them"
About the girls saying they want to be on reality TV again: "Don't you think their mother told them to say that? 'Hey, girls, this is our chance, be positive, this is our shot, we need the money'."
A commentator:
"We watched her be verbally abusive to her husband for years, and I saw verbal abuse toward her kids here".
JVM: Two words: Family Therapy
My predictions for The View: The girls will be sick. (please God)
The View ratings will be huge.
The backlash will be huge-er-ish.
Kreider will rue the day she was born as the ladies will take her to task. They'll get more press if they let her have it so I think the gloves will be off. (okay, a girl can dream, can't she?)
P.S. Vanessa, you scared the crap out of me with the Friday comment. Really had me second guessing. LOL

This woman is mental, she needs help now. Where are her parents and brother and sisters. I know she has written them off many years ago but this is different. Now she" s destroying her twins on National TV. Someone needs to rescue those kids and do an intervention on her.
She is being slammed on Tv and online.
Sure hope she thinks a 2nd time about putting the twins on The View.
But this is TFW/WOS, she is perfect and always right,
Please, someone from her family or few friends please get this woman into some kind of treatment center.
She is going down fast now, just a short time and she will be down, in a fetal position having a breakdown.
I would lock myself in my home and never show my face again if things were being said about me like so many people or doing to her.

Jane and her panel pull no punches either that don't like Katee.
To be expected to perform after you've just been shown a montage of the painful breakup of your parent's marriage is maternal cruelty of the worst kind.
If there was anything good that came out of this, at least the viewing audience got to see for themselves what a conniving witch Kate is. She tried to control her anger, but it was so obvious. If she's like that on national television where she can control it somewhat, imagine what she must be like at home when she lets loose...the seething contempt when something doesn't go her way.
Milo needs to shutupshutupshutup and shutup some more. It's too late for damage control. The other brown-nose sheeple, Lauren, the anti-bullier.anti-hater fan who is dumber than a bag of hair...she's having her hands full and will never be able to respond to the hundreds of haters who showed up today. I imagine she's overwhelmed. Time for her to go back from whence she came, at least until all of this dies down and she can resume her job as second sheeple in command of platitudes and positivity.
Does Kate cancel the View appearance, or does she march forward, hell bent on proving to everyone that the twins were just suffering from stage fright? It's a dilemma. What if the hosts there ask the twins what happened on Today? What if they go into another silence mode? Would Kate risk this, and then what? I wouldn't want to be in Kate's shoes tonight.
Carole, Jon himself said that he just had the cable hooked up and that he and Liz watched the interview live. So yes, he could have watched it on his phone or computer but I doubt it. Jon is no brainiac so I doubt the cable is just to watch world news. That being said, what Jon is is a dad who loves his kids and showed a father's concern over their well being today. Lukebandit I wasn't slamming you I just thought your comment was funny. If I lived near your NH I'd love to sit down for a chat.
TLC Stinks -- I live out in the country and I have cable. Granted, it's not very good cable, but it's cable. It depends on where you live.
Everything Jon has said in his recent interviews was validated by this interview today. TFMJG is prostituting her children for personal gain. I think we need to add a couple of new initials to her designation. How about TFMJGTP -- The Former Mrs. John Gosselin The Pimp? I finally watched a very brief clip of the interview on the Google News website. OMG that was painful. I felt so sorry for those girls. Yes, they may be brash and bratty and sassy at times, but they are still very young and they need to be protected. I hope Jon is able to mitigate some of the damage that TFMJGTP is doing to them, but I'm afraid they're going to need a lot of therapy when they get older. His response was just perfect. Concerned and loving and parental and he resisted the urge to throw TFMJGTP under the bus. Good for him!
Grandee she won't give a second thought to putting the girls on the View because she will have coached them all weekend and put the fear of God in them if they screw up (yes, that's what she probably considers this) again. Look for it. As posters have said, they will be over the top bubbly almost like they're on uppers.
Even better, but enough now Jon.
“They haven’t been on TV in two years, so why are they speaking out? I care about my children and I am worried about them being normal kids. I’ve worked so hard to get them off TV and now she throws them back on TV,” Jon added.
http://hollywoodlife.com/2014/01/16/kate-gosselin-girls-jon-gosselin-today-show/
Hush now though. I know it must be very difficult to watch your children go though this, and it doesn't seem like you have the benefit of a professional PR person anymore, but don't give Kate's pricey spin doctors the opportunity to find a way to throw this back at you. The silver lining of today's interview is that Kate cannot pretend that its tabloid lies or that she was the victim of bad editing. Something that you may very well be the victim of if you don't stop.
I can't help but think that at this time last night, TFW was cackling with glee, thinking she'd be able to get the twins to throw Jon under the bus, that the whole world would adore her and the kids again, that they'd get another show out of this. Now, 24 hours later, 99% of the general public (at least of the ones who know she exists) thinks she is a horrible mother on par with Joan Crawford. She once tweeted, "Don't ? my mothering". Today every news show is discussing her mothering, and all of them seem to agree that she has been exposed as a terrible mother. What a difference 24 hours can make.
I have to say, I like that Sandiebellz fan. She is a fan, but she isn't afraid to admit when TFW does something stupid. She has a mind of her own. Good for her.
Re Jon and cable, don't forget you can watch this stuff on your PHONE now, so whether or not he has cable in his new digs is kind of moot.
Re The View: Don't forget Sherri Shepherd is still on.....she's a total apologist for TFW. Whoopi or Jenny could be tough on Kate but not if girls are present? Let's hope the girls don't have to go through with it.

People are comparing this interview to the balloon boy interview.

I don't think he did anything wrong saying he and Liz were lying there watching. It was matter-of-fact and he called her by name. They may have started watching lying down, but I'm sure by the end they were sitting up and talking/screaming in horror at what was on the screen.
Favorite comment from the Gawker article:
” thrown in Octomom and Jessica Lange and next seasons American Horror Story practically writes itself.”
this ranks right up there with the best critique ever on Face Off reality competition show, from Glenn Hetrick my favorite judge: ”it punches you in the face with how bad it sucks.” Equally applicable to this interview as well as bad makeup.
Those poor twins. How are they going to feel facing all the kids at school next week? Their mother is so mentally ill that the piles of criticism doesn't bother her. But those two little girls will have this follow them for a long time.

Nah...I think if they still appear on The View, they'll be more upbeat and talkative. It will all be agreed upon that it was just stage fright/tiredness and will be swept under the rug. Kate will be given a pass by the View ladies and everyone will sing Kumbaya.
Kimberly. @KiimCarolyn 11m
@Kateplusmy8 You could tell Mady & Cara were just nervous like any normal girls would be. They've grown up beautifully. :D
I didn't think that they looked nervous at all, nor did it look like a case of stage fright, and I watched it a few times. They looked like they didn't want to be there, and that is very different from being "nervous."
Just my opinion said...
Carole, Jon himself said that he just had the cable hooked up and that he and Liz watched the interview live.
When or where did Jon say he just had cable installed? I really don't care whether he has it or not, and if he just moved it may have already been in the new house, etc., but I just re-listened to the TMZ interview and all he said was that he watched it live - which could have been accomplished via number of different media. Just wondering what I missed and where. Thanks!
I'm reading the fans' comments on Kate's TL because there really isn't anything worthwhile watching on a Friday night. :-)
Anyway, some of them are amusing, some are pathetic:
debbie kroutch @tripleJsandME 21m
@Kateplusmy8 my neighbor's son wld not talk directly 2 us until his 1st yr of college even tho we r all super close.wld whisper 2 his prnts
...and that's NORMAL? You just have to wonder about some of these sheeple and what would make one of them tweet the above.
And then there's Jeannie, who apparently is oblivious to this whole fiasco and wants juicer advice from Kate:
Jeannie @SaidByJeannie 17m
I'm looking for juicer recommendations... something that isn't difficult or time consuming to clean after use.
@brookeburke
@Kateplusmy8
Yeah, I somehow don't think that Kate's mind tonight is on an easy-to-clean juicer.
Those poor twins. How are they going to feel facing all the kids at school next week? Their mother is so mentally ill that the piles of criticism doesn't bother her. But those two little girls will have this follow them for a long time.
-----------------------------------------------------------
What does she care?
She's safely ensconced behind the gates of the manse and can hunker down there until this whole thing blows over.
The twins?
No big deal to her what they'll have to endure.
They're at school, out of her hair .
I haven't been here in a while.
What does TFW stand for?
I'm sorry but I can't find it. I'm not that savvy but I recall Jon saying not that long ago that he would allow his kids to go back on TV. I think Jon's a good person and father but it all depends on who's coaching him at the time. I seriously don't think Jon can think for himself and that's how he and Kate ended up together.
