Me, me, Look at me, er, umm, look at my pie ( hole),
Seriously, what hasn't she done to her face? Cheek fillers, check. Botoxed forehead, check . Chin implants, check. Nose shaved, check. And then there's the amazing mop of faux hair extensions. In all seriousness, there doesn't seem to be a 'natural' face amongst the bunch of them.
Orange: don't forget the fake nails, false eyelashes, veneered chiclet teeth, and the blue contacts (her eyes are really brown). Can't think of a caption, but I'd LOVE to squish a mud pie in that face.
Now that's the real Kate; snarky face, saggy plastics, on top of her turkey neck. It can't get much better, still looking forward to the eye daggers of death when DT finally has her across the desk in the boardroom.
GiGi said... 10 That's definitely a "charity face". Paid for by all the churches and other places that made "love donations" to her in the earlier years! __________________________________________________
I hope she got SEVERAL pies in that veneered, botoxed, filler filled evil mug of hers! It would be perfect to watch that happen on the first episode and then watch DT fire her anorexic ass after the first week!!! She hasn't been on twitter for one of a couple of reasons....1: she is holed up with her not-a-boyfriend Skeevie so doesn't want to be interrupted, is NOT with the kids OR doesn't want anyone to know she was kicked off. Either way...one thing we know for sure is that someone is stroking her ego (or something else) because if she wasn't she would be on twitter looking for her 6 fans to do it. Narcissists need continuous fixes!
Judging by the picture of her in in the tan coat (with what looks likes a very expensive Brighton bag) girlfriend forgot to get a root touch up. Guess she's not a natural blond Milo so you can stop with the dumb blond jokes. She's not blond, just dumb.
Wowser said... 20 I hope she got SEVERAL pies in that veneered, botoxed, filler filled evil mug of hers! -------------- I don't think any of the CA contestants got pied in the face. Some of the tweets implied that that was happening, but I think they were just poorly worded variations on the shop name "Pie Face".
"Kate, didn't we tell you to stand in the piehole picture thing?"
"Ummm yeah but um Steve already took my um picture. He already uhhhh sent it to um INF ummm Daily. How about I make the uh crusts, I did ummm write a cookbook."
"No thanks, we're good. Just keep standing in the piehole"
Doesn't pie-faced mean to have a stupid (dumb) expression on your face? I never saw it spelled like that, with an apostrophe, and a backwards one at that. An apostrophe is used where a letter has been removed. What letter has been taken out?
What am I not getting, or have I had one Rumspringa too many?
Tweet -- yes, she's indicated that in some of her tweets, how she's disgusted at kids misbehaving, the runs in bad weather and how she has time to tweet during the day and watch her court television shows.
Local (33)... "Haha. I used to pat as Another Chester co Mom at GWOP. Did you see wee have a winter storm advisory ?"

We had ice pellets a few hours ago, and now it's just raining. Still. Flood watch here, but no winter weather advisory. WIndchill, though, is 18. High of 65 forecast for Tuesday. This is nuts.
From the prior thread: "These two links have a few new pics from CA that (most of us) have not seen yet. Lots of jaw clenching and eye rolling, plus Kate's over use of Botox & fillers is especially evident."
****** One thing I noticed is that the other women appear to be dressed somewhat matchy-matchy. The red sweatshirt, black leggings or black leather pants, black boots. In contrast, Kate is wearing a black long sleeve shirt under a red t-shirt, and jeans. What happened? She didn't get the memo?

I'm watching the late night news and the weather guy just admitted that he saw none of this coming today -- York had 3 inches of snow and it's still coming down, while Dauphin County got half a foot. How could they not see this coming? There was absolutely nothing in the forecast. If this keeps up, we'll still be wearing boots at Easter.
Well, looks like she had today off too. Some of the other contestants are tweeting about spending time with their families, going to broadway shows, working out, etc.
Kate should have her PR person contact Quilted Northern...that picture could be incorporated into a nice ad for the 20 rolls of TP her family goes through each day.
I am definitely aging. Parts of the aging process are not completely flattering. But seeing the pictures of TFW (and some others) makes me feel really good about aging naturally. I eat normal food. I try to exercise but I'm not obsessive about it. My forehead moves. I'm not a beauty but I look a little younger than my real age. I really don't understand the botoxed plastic surgery look. It's so fake. Who made it a beauty standard?
This is what selling your soul x 10 looks like! I just wanted to give you the gross mental image of Kate Gosselin whispering sweet nothings to Satan, and the follow-up image of Satan swatting her away, going “Stop it, you’re giving me the creeps. Don’t you have a child that needs pimping out somewhere?" (Dlisted)

Weird how meteorologists and politicians lie through their teeth and we still listen to them thinking they're telling the truth.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Here's the sad thing about them never seeing this coming. There were two fatalities here yesterday...one an 11 year-old-girl. Roads were icy. Of course you can't blame this on the meteorologists, but you also can't help but wonder if they would have had a forecast of sleet, snow and icy roads if they would have stayed home and never ventured out. I was away, too, and had no idea it was coming. When I left to go home, there were some nasty ice pellets coming down and the roads were starting to get slick. Had I known, I would have opted to stay home.

Who is eternally tan, with teeth that never dull and boobs that never sag a bit and never gets laugh lines around their eyes? Where's the character. It's sad, but guys in society respond to it. "She's hot!", "I'd bang her". Now, some men prefer their women to be more natural, and for as many guys that say Kate's now hot, the same amount wouldn't touch her with a 10-foot pole, still. Her personality is that much of a turn off. Kate will now forever be on that cosmetic procedure treadmill. I don't know what happens after long-term use of botox, but she's been hitting the needle heavily for years now and her forehead looks like a skating rink. If you look at her in profile, you can see the tell tale tuck right underneath the chin- she's been tightened.
Again good for you if you want to nip and tuck. For some who get procedures done with restraint, they look very refreshed, which is not the case for Kate. Also, if you're a woman of a certain age who is undergoing procedures, just own it. You know what's really beautiful? Authenticity.
It's disconcerting, the way Kate's face & forehead are Botoxed/Juvadermed smooth and shiny, as seen from the front. But in side-angle pictures, her skin seems to melt off her face--it hangs in drapes and folds.

Is TFW still on Twitter silence? She's going to have to pour it on thick when she finally surfaces about being SO busy. But what I guess she won't realize is that her teammates have been on Twitter throughout the CA experience -- proving TFW to be, gasp, insincere.
I wonder if some fans hadn't sent her something special to her P.O. box as a birthday surprise, only to find out she was going to be away for weeks. Or some may have even ordered things like flowers or cake to be sent directly to the house. For someone who doesn't have an endless supply of cash, that expense could be significant. And some hurt feelings might thin out the fan base even further.
TFW's fans seem to have set the bar pretty low for her, and yet she still manages to be a disappointment -- no matter how Gladys tries to spin it otherwise.
You know who I think is naturally pretty and doesn't look like she's had a lot of work done compared to other other Reality Housewives, is Yolanda from Real Housewives of BH. The other women look really plastic like TFW. All the fillers and botox and lip injections - yuck. It definitely takes its toll.
I like Yolanda, she always stays calm when everyone else is screaming their head off. And I like David Foster her husband too, as well as her daughter, who seems like she really has it together at such a young age. I'm not quite sure what she's doing on that show.
Their house is right across from the fire station on PCH. I was driving by last month and happened to glance up at it. You can see into their backyard. Who should be there but a woman with bleached blond hair and a bright pink shirt, pruning the plants or something. It was Yolanda! It isn't often you can see into a celeb's back yard since most of them aren't exposed like that.

She'll just use her usual excuse and claim that she's been in twitter jail.

OT---Here on Long Island, we're having the whitest "rain" I've ever seen-3 inches so far. Mother Nature must have decided to play her April Fool's joke a day early.
You know what's really beautiful? Authenticity. _______________
I agree, however, it's our society that makes these fake women wealthy by watching and obsessing and tweeting and fawning over them. We've seen the tweets from fans to various reality "stars" whom they revere above all else. Those gawd-awful Real Wives of (fill in the blank) have been hugely popular. The fans watch and the ratings for these fake shows with the fake casts make big money for networks and those in the shows. The "premise" of those shows is shallow just as are the "stars" and their fans. But that's the way it is. Fakness, shallowness, plain gnorance reigns among a large part of society. And the lure of big money trumps everything else, which includes protecting one's own children from such low-class antics.

OT- In MA we have a' wintry mix' and it's cold. Oh, yes, with all the rain yesterday, the snow has been melting. Good? No, because our basement is flooding.. A date with the wet-vac for me.
I'm not quite sure what she's doing on that show ************************************************************** I think that's the question. She may appear to not belong with that group, but she auditioned, she negotiated a contract and she signed on the dotted line. That franchise has a certain formula. They've turned the "favorites" into the "villains" too many times. They save footage to show later, they don't show footage that is pertinent, they only show parts of conversations and a lot of times not in context. If Andy doesn't like you or you "offend" him in some way, you'll pay. He's the puppet master. Yolanda's character will be questioned sooner or later. She's fairly new, but those women are of the same breed.
Society supported these fake looks, though the segment of society who really watches these shows is very, very small. Real Housewives gets 2-3 million viewers a pop. My understanding is the very highest they've ever gotten is for the Atlanta franchise at 4.5 million. Usually they're tapping out much lower. But the population of the United States is over 300 million! I think society has spoken and it's really a teeny, tiny minority that supports this. Enough, though to keep it going I guess.
I have to believe that most Americans really aren't into this, or their "look", whatsoever.
I agree, however, it's our society that makes these fake women wealthy by watching and obsessing and tweeting and fawning over them. ***** yes, and I understand the pressure Kate feels to be too skinny, too tan, too bleached and too pulled.
Has anyone ever seen "Big Ang" from Mob Wives? The woman looks like a cartoon, with these HUGE lips and boobs. I mean, you could stick her on a wall for hours!
I think to myself- Why would anyone do this to themselves? Do they think they look good?

Yesterday's UCONN game was AWESOME!!! My husband was whistling like crazy. It was going right through my head, right through my grandson's head and he even had the dog howling. It was very noisy in our house late yesterday afternoon. Also great game between KY and MI. We have FL next but we did beat them at the buzzer already this season. Hope we can do it again.
Whatever numbers you care to put out there, reality shows are still around and are big business. TLC made hundreds of millions off K&J and the eight as they do with their disgusting lineup of other shows. Even if the segment apparently is small, advertisers also make hundreds of millions from those silly and/or ignorant enough to buy their products as a way to somehow be like those fake people they adore.
The reality shows do reign. Anything really good; Breaking Bad, The Wire, those shows we've discussed are few and far between. Quick, easy money is what show producers want and they know how to sell that crap to the public who eat it up.
I wonder how many young girls, as we speak, will be getting their hair bleached, lips botoxed, tans darkened as they get their head shots updated and go for auditions for the next piece of junk TV show.
There may be 300 million people out there but ratings are small because there is so much bad sh*t to watch, the ratings are split between it all. LOL
And I think that's where you can pretty much tell the difference between celebs with good self esteem who are confident in themselves no matter what their age. Who are strong enough to be comfortable in their own skin and not succumb to plastic even if they have all the money in the world for it. You need to know your own self and be confident in yourself. Vs. those who just can't be confident or comfortable in who they are and then choose to transform themselves into this weird ideal.
I am not at all surprised that Kate went down the plastic Barbie path.
I think to myself- Why would anyone do this to themselves? Do they think they look good? __________
I just Googled Big Ang because I didn't know who she was. Is there even a size category for boobs that large? Her lips are running a close second. Is she still on TV?
I put out the numbers that are available and correct. They get, at most in the 4 millions, and usually more about 1-2 million.
My point being I don't think we should kid ourselves that this is how most people think or want to look. We can be reassured this is certainly not how most of society is. It's a small segment of society and while they do make big bucks, sort of (not all of them), so too do nerds make big bucks in Silicon Valley. It's just one tiny segment of society. I don't think we as women need to be afraid this is the direction we as women are going or something. And I don't think we need to worry about most girls because most of them wouldn't even have the money in the first place let alone parental consent. A few I'm sure will do it, yes, and that's sad. The majority, no. I have faith in our young people they know the difference between Brandi and every other normal woman in their town.
For Kate, I really doubt most people in Wernersville look like her. She's an odd duck out there and would be an odd duck even in NY or LA except with the rare exception in small little pockets like Manhattan or the west side in L.A. In my neighborhood? She'd be a freak.
And I think that's where you can pretty much tell the difference between celebs with good self esteem who are confident in themselves no matter what their age. Who are strong enough to be comfortable in their own skin and not succumb to plastic even if they have all the money in the world for it. You need to know your own self and be confident in yourself. Who and where are those people? If someone says Jennifer Aniston I swear I'll pull out my eyeballs. LOL
I think it probably also speaks to Kate's narrow viewing habits.
I doubt she's watching the great films out there, the Oscar nominated best pictures or the independent films where most of the great actors look normal and real. She spends her time browsing channels like Bravo and E!, watching shows like Housewives and Kardashians. These are where you can find the plastic segment of hollywood.
Of course that may brainwash her. I doubt she has a real idea of how most people who are famous really are. Yes they absolutely do some subtle things. A subtle face lift here, fix a baggy eye there, a bit of an uplift there. But not enough where it looks "plastic." Most highly successful actresses avoid the major things for the simple fact that it looks bad and they need the ability to move their face and body naturally so they can actually act.
I have a lot of concern about young girls especially, with all the pressure that surrounds them to be thin, to look like the models and celebrities. I don't find it comforting that the huge numbers of people don't feel the need to make themselves into ugly parodies of fakeness. Each case of anorexia, or bulimia or suicide is a terrible loss. Each celebrity that is paraded around in their phoniness makes an impact on too many young, impressionable girls and top that with the promise of a mansion and designer clothes...it all disgusts me no end.
TLC made hundreds of millions off K&J and the eight as they do with their disgusting lineup of other shows ******* J+K+8 was TLC's Baghdad. The reason why it struck a chord was that it resonated with so many people- a "nobody" Christian family, who decided not to reduce their HOM pregnancy, struggling with coping with so many children physically, financially and spiritually. After the titillation of watching the marriage implode, the show never regained its audience, and was cancelled.
Well, body weight is a completely separate issue. We were talking about plastic surgery and other enhancements. Apples and oranges.
There is no doubt that almost every actress whether plastic or not is thin, many too thin. And that concerns me gravely. There is no doubt that when people like Kate and others say "nothing tastes as good as thin feels," that leaves a lasting impression on young people. There is no doubt that almost every image they see of anyone in the public eye impresses upon them the value of being skinny. And then some parents reenforce it, making the problem worse. Having worked in a household where the children were constantly told by their mother they needed to slim down (a nutritionist was even hired for a 10 year old, UGH!!! Child was NOT fat!!!), which resulted in every female child who lived in that house developing anorexia during the teen years and every male child feeling like they weren't good enough for Momma. So yeah I feel strongly about the issue.
Body weight and image actually concern me far more in terms of the influence, than some silly D lister getting cheek implants. I really do trust a 16 year old in Nebraska to understand the cheek implants look terrible. I do not however, trust the average 16 year old to understand that being that skinny is unnecessary.
OT---Here on Long Island, we're having the whitest "rain" I've ever seen-3 inches so far. Mother Nature must have decided to play her April Fool's joke a day early.
&&&&&&&&&
Isn't it always fun when the weatherman calls for all rain and you end up shoveling six inches of rain off your sidewalk?
Tucker and that's something Kate will never accept.
It wasn't her why people watched. And it wasn't Jon. And it wasn't the kids even. It was the "situation." This idea of this nice Christian family stressed out but making it worse, only to come to a head until it finally reached divorce. People were watching because of that dynamic between Kate and Jon. The biggest mistake they ever made was not bending over backwards to work it out with Jon so he would stay on. He was the Ricky to her Lucy. Once he was gone, the magic was over. The same would have happened had the shoe been on the other foot and Kate took off. A show with just Jon and the kids doesn't work either.
Yes they'll always be able to scrounge up a piddly .9 million watching her or the kids. A far cry from the 20 plus million who wanted to see the rise and fall of Kate AND Jon.
The reality shows do reign. Anything really good; Breaking Bad, The Wire, those shows we've discussed are few and far between. Quick, easy money is what show producers want and they know how to sell that crap to the public who eat it up. ***** I was shocked to see how few viewers watch fantastic cable shows (fiction with actual acting). Like Nurse Jackie- the numbers are so low compared to reality freak shows. When it comes to Kate, the dynamic that pulled an audience was:
The entire family unit The kids The tension/resolution arcs between Jon and Kate
Not: Barbie Kate and the kids living a life of entitlement.
Oh, Kate tried. She knew the numbers were plummeting, and so did TLC, hence, the sex kitten antics. Can you imagine, in the early days of J+K+8, Kate plopping herself down on her interview couch with her tits hanging out? Near nip slips? No way!
The show didn't need it back then, and frankly, very few people want to see that.
Realitytvkids.com (Administrator) said... 97 I think it probably also speaks to Kate's narrow viewing habits. ******* Sadly, Kate lives to see herself in the eyes of the people she idolizes. More sadly, I think she'll always be that kid with her nose pressed up against the glass.
She would be an odd duck in my east of LA neighborhood, too. And I agree, in those side profile pics, you can really see the plastic bits sagging. In just a few more years, this overshaping, over plumping, oversmoothing, is all going to slide off and meet her turkey neck somewhere south. It really is a shame when people do this much stuff when they are not yet even the big 4 -0.
Realitytvkids.com (Administrator) said... 100 Well, body weight is a completely separate issue. We were talking about plastic surgery and other enhancements. Apples and oranges. ___________
Not apples and oranges to me. I've been talking "authenticity." That was what my original tweet which includes every aspect of fakness; plastic surgery, fake tans, vomiting to skeletal thiness.
There is no doubt that almost every actress whether plastic or not is thin, many too thin ******* Hollywood skinny is dangerously skinny. TV does add weight, and if an actress looks skinny on TV, they are 0 and 00 in real life. Kate boasts about fitting into a size 2- her frame just isn't that small. Some women are easily a size 2, because they are petite. While Kate isn't big boned in any way, she is not Eve Longoria or Jennifer Anniston and forcing her body into a 2 is unhealthy.
Some people are naturally quite thin. You can't judge them for that. I clocked in at 115 soaking wet at 5.7 when I was in my teens and 20's. I never dieted. I ate relatively healthy but normally, including sweets. Once I got older I gained more weight and evened out. Now I can't eat what I used to. Other people get there by eating crash diets. That can easily be remedied by eating better.
That is not the same as permanently altering your appearance right there and then with several thousands bucks and two cheek implants. I find it far more drastic and concerning to go under the knife because you are trying to become this plastic Barbie doll than I do changing your diet so you eat a lot more salads.
Hollywood is too thin, absolutely, and it's leaving a lasting impression on young people, absolutely, but you can't assume every thin person has the kind of issues I think most plastic people do or is responsible for children being influenced by that. Why should someone look at me at 21 and consider me part of the problem when I had nothing to do with my weight?
My point being I don't think we should kid ourselves that this is how most people think or want to look. We can be reassured this is certainly not how most of society is. Probably other regions on some level, but the gist is that the majority of American women wouldn't think of spending their precious time or money (if they have it) on such nonsense. Again, taking care of yourself and doing the "upkeep" if you can is one thing. Cosmetic procedures are a whole 'nother animal- again, not bad unless you take it too far, but most women in America aren't going to touch injectables or a scalpel.

Amen from me too!
Last night CRAZY HEART was on TV with Jeff Bridges & Maggie Gyllenhaal. How nice to see natural faces able to show real emotion, not the stiff masks so many actors have today.
(I highly recommend the movie, but try to see it without so many @#$% commercials. )
LIN... Glad to hear you're enjoying "Suits" as well. We've just finished watching several very heavy shows, so it's nice to have a lighthearted break.
Yes, Kate would be a freak in the neighborhood I live in now, but would have felt right at home in the neighborhood I lived in for 30 years, South Orange County which includes Newport Beach, Balboa, Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel. Believe me when I say I understand the pressures put on people/young girls to look a certain way, thin, blonde and tan...oh, and rich.
Saving Mr. Banks is one I just watched this week and I enjoyed it. Emma Thompson showed every wrinkle on her 50-something year old face, and she used those wrinkles to express her dismay at her story being butchered. Tom Hanks is pudgy. They are two multi-millionaires who look real and they told a wonderful story together.
TLC made hundreds of millions off K&J and the eight as they do with their disgusting lineup of other shows. E ******* Well, I don't think they made hundreds of millions of dollars, but I do agree that J&K+8 was a money maker for TLC. Just as Duck Dynasty was a money maker for whatever channel they are on. However, all these shows run their course. I heard ratings have dramatically dropped for Duck Dynasty.
As to young girls wanting to live up to some phony societal standard - that's nothing new. Women have been told to fit a certain mold for decades. Almost always, the emphasis has been on being slim, attractive, soft spoken, pleasant, non-aggressive, etc. As parents, we can't stop all those messages from coming through, unless we keep our kids in a bubble, inside, and never let them out.
However, we can be good role models, encourage our daughters to be active in whatever interests them- sports, music, art, theater, creative writing, science, and to otherwise develop their minds and their personalities in such a way that they know there is more to their lives than their surface looks. (Heck, we parents have to also deal with body issues with our sons too. It's very pervasive.)
I have to say - I really don't like the latest hair style, which seems to be long hair that is curled in biggish ringlets. The style that Brandi Glanville and several other female CA contestants have. For some women, it looks fine. But after awhile, they just look cookie cutter. It's the Stepford Wives, taken to a whole new level.
More sadly, I think she'll always be that kid with her nose pressed up against the glass.
&&&
Good analogy yet definitely a sad one. I don't think she will ever just be content with the nice life she has, and I think it will hold back her children from true happiness. Or at the very least confuse them.

Speaking of having too much plastic surgery (or perhaps just a very poor face lift) - Courtney Cox! When I look back at old Friends episodes and how naturally lovely she was, it's just sad to see her now. Time has softened the worst of the surgery and she's finally looking a bit more natural - but she does not look like her old self and it's disconcerting. I'm sure Jennifer Anniston has had procedures done, but at this point, she still looks like herself.
Well, I don't think they made hundreds of millions of dollars
&&&
Oh, they did. I think they even admit that. The number thrown out was 250 or 350 million, I can't remember.
But I do remember the whole battle back when we were complaining about the kids not getting paid was because TLC had made hundreds of millions of dollars off the family and the kids got nothing, or next to nothing. I absolutely believe the hundred millions of dollars figure, they wouldn't have declared it such a hit otherwise.
I'm glad the restaurant didn't post a pic of the kids there and instead used an old one, though even that was unnecessary, and I'm glad the kids are getting to see her. I expect the tweets will start now that the kids are around lol!
Looks like the kids may have come to NYC to visit Kate, unless this restaurant thinks Steve and possibly Deanna are "family".

Several other cast members tweeted pictures of them with their relatives visiting them this weekend. Perhaps, CA gave them some time off so they could have some time with their families.
***** This is the quintessential Hollywood style that I think got huge exposure from Jonathon Antin's show Blow Out. Every single woman (except Lisa Rinna) got this cut- it was Jonathon's signature. Now, it seems like every Kate and Brandi have it- it's like again women are deathly afraid of shorter hair, and God forbid, bangs! Gasp!
I was at my dermatologist a few weeks ago for a skin check after having a basal cell carcinoma removed. There was a long wait and I noticed many of the women leaving the office looked facially swollen LOL! Not puffed up, but like something had been done to their faces and it was symmetrical. I figured it was probably something cosmetic and I asked the doctor if he was doing a lot of this cosmetic stuff now and he said it was huge, he was having trouble keeping up with the demand. He said there are so many products to use and the cost has come down and the techniques to administering botox etc has improved. I live in a very middle class area, midwest, and these were women in their 40s and 50s who don't carry designer bags or have lots of money. I had no idea my neighbors were doing this, but I sure look closer now! So this is no longer just for the rich in L.A. and New York and the Hamptons. It's made it to the middle class suburbs.

Plastic surgery? Makeup? Photoshop? Only time will tell.
Wonder how the kids got to NYC if Skeeve is so busy guarding TFW these days? None of my business at all, just an interesting thought re logistics. Oh wait, the not a nanny drove them. Your weekend, Jon? Too bad, so sad.

Photoshop and good photography. It's as clear as day. That's not what she looks like. They've brightened and widened her eyes, smoothed out her skin and used some nice speed lights and reflectors for a sun kissed look. On the show, she looks normal. You can use photoshop to make a 20-something model out of a slice of pizza, if you've seen that video.

That certainly has been my perception and goes along with what I read. Authentic isn't important, it's looking young. And now that it's becoming less expensive, even the "mediocre" can afford to look like a "celebrity." Not the best example for impressionable young girls.
Was it only yesterday I was singing the praises of British and Australian TV with their "real" looking TV stars? I stand by what I've said. Our culture is hooked on youth and beauty and will pay hard earned money for the look even if it's fake.
Oh, come now, they couldn't have all been out in public at a restaurant in NYC! There would've been mayhem! Mayhem, I tell you!
As far as all the cosmetic surgery/body image talk, it concerns me that TFW has 5 girls' psyches in her hands. If they look to her as a role model (who could forget "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels"), I worry about what issues they might face, and the messages they're overtly and subtly receiving about appearances.

SaraBeth's is not cheap. It's a chic, trendy Sunday brunch place that always has a huge line waiting on the sidewalk. The interior is glass-lined. Every wall is a mirror or other hard surface, so the noise level is stupendous. Everyone screams to be heard. I am sure she fit right in. I am also positive she did not use her own money. Alas, I have moved from NYC, so cannot be a Minuteman spy. So sorry!

Why not offer a free meal to one of them? **** Doh, forgot that Salad Works offered a free meal. Yes, that's bs ,but "celebs" with money are always getting swag, food and entertainment for free, of course in exchange for the name recognition. It's really not fair.
Do the men in California also succumb to plastic surgery? And to all the women we have been talking about here, it is called "plastic" surgery for a reason.
I think what makes people angry at companies that give Kate and her kids free stuff is that Kate's motto is "who am I to say no?", and she's not shown any efforts to use her name recognition to help others, other than one-offs here and there.
I wish that Salad Works would also donate to a family in need instead of a wealthy has been. If they REALLY want to generate good will toward their company, that would do the trick.
Yes, that's bs ,but "celebs" with money are always getting swag, food and entertainment for free, of course in exchange for the name recognition. It's really not fair.
&&&
It's not fair. I understand the reasoning behind it, but there is so much good that could be done with it instead.
And until people start speaking up, respectfully, and saying what a second this ISN'T fair and there are better things you could do with your ridiculous freebies, it will just continue to excess.
As I've said many times, I was most astounded at the sheer volume of freebies dumped in celeb's lap, most of them they didn't even want much less ask for. Apple in particular during this time was literally dumping iPods on celebs. They amassed half a dozen if not more. You need ONE iPod, and maybe one for your kids. What do you need with the four others? Come on. And apparently they keep flowing. New Year's vacation this year was at a swanky hotel in a tropical area in exchange for a meet and greet and a blog post about how great the hotel was. Really. I'm not saying I fault the family for agreeing to the deal and at least they did SOMETHING in return for it, but wouldn't that be something that the hotel could have donated, like to Make a Wish to a child who really wants to visit there? How many bookings did this REALLY bring them in advertising? I just can't imagine much, who cares where some D lister stays? I must not really understand the numbers here because I have a hard time believing these sort of loose has-been endorsements help much. One thing the Red Cross does is limited or no freebies for their numerous celebrity cabinet members. I know that some of their ambassadors have asked them to pay for private family vacations after their work-related travels for the RC, and RC refuses and usually gives them a "who the F are you" attitude about it. Good for them.
I don't see a pic of K+8 on Saladworks' twitter. However, they seem very concerned about the negative reaction received from Kate's critics and are defending themselves and apologizing.
A few non-fans tweeted to saladworks that they shouldn't give free stuff to Kate. Saladworks replied with the following tweets:
Saladworks @saladworks · 2h @ConcernedChick Thanks for the heads up. Seriously. Our apologies - we didn't mean to offend.
Saladworks @saladworks · 2h @incorp1791 Our apologies - no intention to peddle anything or anyone. Thanks for the feedback, we take it to heart.
The one of the sheeple tweeted:

To which saladworks replied:
Saladworks @saladworks · 1h @LakeRat2014 We didn't take anything back - we just apologized because we didn't mean to stir a pot.
So now all the sheeple are up in arms thinking that the haters caused Kate to miss out on free food. Even Milo joined the fray:

I believe SaladWorks, they had no idea. They probably have some intern goggling around seeing who is talking about them and Kate came up. They didn't bother to research. Saladworks has been very respectful and replied to all. The haters and fans should now drop it. Both groups have made their point. Both the haters and fans look like idiots for continuing to press the point. Bottom line is that Saladworks offered a meal which they will honor if TFW replies. It doesn't matter what anyone says. Saladworks is replying to the individual and keeping TFW's timeline out of it and good for them.
Informing someone of your opinion on giving freebies to wealthy celebrities is not "bullying" Milo.

I agree. Point was made, everyone on twitter should move on. SaladWorks was very nice about it and said they read and heard everyone, take it to heart, but at this time they are not withdrawing the offer. That is their decision. Don't go to them if it bothers folks that much.

My account has been dormant for two years. I never use it and I made it private. Yet they keep tweeting it like I see it. The only way I see it is if someone brings it here. *I* never encouraged ANYONE to contact SaladWorks not that it would it be a crime to do so. I simply said I don't object if people are exercising their free speech rights. I further said that if people don't like celebrities getting freebies, they should say so. I was talking GENERALLY and I specifically talked about the massive amount of freebies ALL celebs get, not just Kate. Does my boss get called because someone has a problem with ALL celebrities getting something for nothing? LOL!

By calling him Mr. @saladwords isn't Milo just reinforcing some of the speculation that she is Kate and Kate is Milo (and they are both Admin)? After all, it is Kate's signature move is to call people Mr. whatever their job happens to be. I just wish Robert would just come out and say who Milo is if he knows.
About Saladworks...does Gladys have a fire pole in her house that she slides down the minute TFW needs her help? Not one, but a series of tweets to this company? This part is classic: "KateG.loves SALAD!" This is supposedly a wife and mother of two, with a career and pets and meetings and church. And this is the cause she invests her time in? Defending the honor of someone who's ignored her for weeks?

I think it *is* pretty unfair the way celebrities have swag just thrown at them. You can't tell me that it gets the giving company anything much beyond an "Oh, that's nice."
I think most people think it's unfair but also just accept it as how it is in our society. A lot of companies have a program in place for philanthropic work, which is in addition to their sales/marketing program (where the swag budget is, I would imagine.)
IMO, the uproar comes because the celebrities have actually done some work themselves and have earned the right to be called a celebrity and the perks that come along with that.
TFW hasn't worked ever, and exploits her kids to get yet another perk. That's what people object to. She does nothing and expects companies to just hand over free item after free item.
I wonder if she claims that stuff on her taxes. Nah, probably not.
A company can make a private phone call or email to Kate if they don't want this to be public. Instead ,they put it on twitter for anyone to see, and if people would like to comment, they may.
True enough. A private phone call/email maybe wouldn't allow them to put it in their swag budget, though.
They were hoping for publicity. Only the kind they got isn't the kind they were hoping for. They had no idea of the hornet's nest they stepped into.
Too bad that companies don't try to generate goodwill by tweeting that they just gave away 8 nice meals to a needy family.
Also interesting that they used a pretty old photo. Wonder what that means.

The six to eight sheeple of Kate's are quick to anger anymore (even over something as stupid as this Saladworks thing) because it's hard for them to accept the fact they didn't win the war in quashing the free speech of those who don't like Kate.
I think it's over the top ridiculous the sort of freebies ALL celebs get but I do agree it's particularly offensive when that celeb gives absolutely nothing back.
It is the norm, that's for sure, but then lots of things that are wrong or unfair are the norm. The only way for it to stop being the norm is if companies feel that such things are not what the public wants. I do think, in recent years, it's been less excessive, as companies have had to be more careful about their bottom line. Just like how first class business trip travel isn't sustainable anymore for most companies.
I'm in the process of cleaning out some furniture & dishes & clothing because my mom is buying a new house & some things from her house will be coming to my house. I have an agreement with hubby that to bring in new stuff, I have to get rid of old stuff (I have 4 china hutches, so he does have a point).
I want to remind folks to DONATE! don't sell! (Don't be Kate, DONATE!) The local place I donate to has a thrift store/resale shop & the money goes to our ONLY county battered woman/children's shelter. If it's something they won't take, then I donate it to our local Goodwill. Money from Goodwill goes to our only county homeless shelter.
I hope folks will donate things or their time to local organizations that focus on/support things you believe in. I always stress DO IT LOCAL! We can't all change every thing around the world, but often we can make a difference in our local community. Don't just write a check or throw some change into a jar next to the register. Clean out your closets & donate. go thru your blankets & donate. When you want to weed out books, clothing, kids toys or just "stuff", think local donations. I'm not a religious person at all, but if it's a local church that does the most to help out others, then donate to them. If you love animals, then donate your TIME at the nearest shelter. Dont' write a check, but bring in bags of pet food/cat litter & meet the folks who are doing all they can. It can make their day to know that someone else cares. If you have an elderly facility nearby, donate your time. A couple of hours a week calling bingo numbers, or just sitting & visiting with someone who never gets visitors. The person you visit may not remember it tomorrow, but the over worked nurses & caretakers WILL.
And always take a moment to smile at someone. Just a simple smile & a nod hello as you pass on the grocery aisle or as you are going into the store can make someone's day.
I admit to being very sappy over this lately because my gramma is currently in a rehab hospital after taking a fall. visiting with her has me motivated to go back to my local elderly facility & volunteer once a week again. I did Bingo once a week when my grampa was in an Alzheimer's home & stopped when he passed away. Mom will finally have extra help in her new house (my aunt & uncle are moving in to help with gramma), so I'll have more time free. So it's time to play "I can't remember Bingo" again each week. (I say that totally tongue in cheek...so please don't flame me)
Please, give back & give back locally. Change your corner of the world, one step at a time. Give time & energy, not just a check or change at the register. If you don't have the time, then maybe consider dropping off a meal or desserts to your local fire dept or police station.
*stepping down from my sappy soap box* Don't be Kate! DONATE!

Do the men in California also succumb to plastic surgery? And to all the women we have been talking about here, it is called "plastic" surgery for a reason. ****** I'm sure there are plenty of celebrities (and some non-celebs) all across the country to have cosmetic procedures done. In fact, if you've ever seen a commercial for Lifestyle Lift, it shows results for both men and women. (Just pointing out - it ain't limited to California.) Also, there's a new reality show called Chrisley Knows Best, where the main character is the male head of the family, who readily admits on camera to having various procedures to keep "fresh looking." I believe that he's from the South.
OT - but here in the DC metro area we've been following the abduction of Relisha Rudd. An eight year old little girl that was given away by her MOTHER to a janitor that worked at the homeless shelter where they were staying.
Horrible story. They just recovered a body in Kenilworth Park. Adult male. May be abducter
OT: GKD: While it is fine to donate, there are some things, that should be sold on e-bay, cause they have some value. The places you donate to, most probably do not know some items have value, and can get a nice amount of money. You and anyone who wants to donate, can take the items that can fetch a nice some of money and sell it on e-bay and then give that money to the charity, or shelter , of your choice, cause most of these places, don't have the time to sell stuff on e-bay. I have donated a lot of stuff, I could have sold on e-bay and kept the money. But I did donate, cause it was normal stuff. Stuff like dishes, collectables, personal items, I would sell on e-bay. You can get a better price.

I don't think any of the CA contestants got pied in the face. Some of the tweets implied that that was happening, but I think they were just poorly worded variations on the shop name "Pie Face".

Here's the sad thing about them never seeing this coming. There were two fatalities here yesterday...one an 11 year-old-girl. Roads were icy. Of course you can't blame this on the meteorologists, but you also can't help but wonder if they would have had a forecast of sleet, snow and icy roads if they would have stayed home and never ventured out. I was away, too, and had no idea it was coming. When I left to go home, there were some nasty ice pellets coming down and the roads were starting to get slick. Had I known, I would have opted to stay home.

Amen.
The look is so fake.

Has anyone seen my tidy bowl man Steve? Two turds in a bowl.
You know who I think is naturally pretty and doesn't look like she's had a lot of work done compared to other other Reality Housewives, is Yolanda from Real Housewives of BH. The other women look really plastic like TFW. All the fillers and botox and lip injections - yuck. It definitely takes its toll.
Marie
I like Yolanda, she always stays calm when everyone else is screaming their head off. And I like David Foster her husband too, as well as her daughter, who seems like she really has it together at such a young age. I'm not quite sure what she's doing on that show.
Their house is right across from the fire station on PCH. I was driving by last month and happened to glance up at it. You can see into their backyard. Who should be there but a woman with bleached blond hair and a bright pink shirt, pruning the plants or something. It was Yolanda! It isn't often you can see into a celeb's back yard since most of them aren't exposed like that.

I'm not quite sure what she's doing on that show
**************************************************************
I think that's the question.

Whatever numbers you care to put out there
&&&&
Vs. those who just can't be confident or comfortable in who they are and then choose to transform themselves into this weird ideal.
____________
TLC made hundreds of millions off K&J and the eight as they do with their disgusting lineup of other shows
*******
J+K+8 was TLC's Baghdad.
&&&&&&&&&
*****
I was shocked to see how few viewers watch fantastic cable shows (fiction with actual acting).
Like Nurse Jackie- the numbers are so low compared to reality freak shows.
When it comes to Kate, the dynamic that pulled an audience was:
The entire family unit
The kids
The tension/resolution arcs between Jon and Kate
Not:
Barbie Kate and the kids living a life of entitlement.

Sadly, Kate lives to see herself in the eyes of the people she idolizes.

Not apples and oranges to me. I've been talking "authenticity." That was what my original tweet which includes every aspect of fakness; plastic surgery, fake tans, vomiting to skeletal thiness.

*******
Hollywood skinny is dangerously skinny.
It's not on the same spectrum for me at all.
It's a small segment of society and while they do make big bucks, sort of (not all of them), so too do nerds make big bucks in Silicon Valley. It's just one tiny segment of society.

I agree that it's pockets of the country.
LA
South Beach
The Hamptons
Manhattan
Probably other regions on some level, but the gist is that the majority of American women wouldn't think of spending their precious time or money (if they have it) on such nonsense.
Again, taking care of yourself and doing the "upkeep" if you can is one thing.
Cosmetic procedures are a whole 'nother animal- again, not bad unless you take it too far, but most women in America aren't going to touch injectables or a scalpel.
Some people are naturally quite thin. You can't judge them for that. I clocked in at 115 soaking wet at 5.7 when I was in my teens and 20's. I never dieted. I ate relatively healthy but normally, including sweets. Once I got older I gained more weight and evened out
*****
The same numbers for me (at one time) looked too thin- and people told me so.
My frame starts to protrude under 120.
I can assure you that even in the heart of west L.A. I've heard plenty of people say oh that facelift Lori got looks so fake, oh I hate what Jenn is doing to herself, she was so pretty, whyyy?? Cheri most definitely had a boob job, it's so obvious and looks so bad.
I've never heard anyone say so and so had surgery and all that plastic looks wonderful.
They are like a strange breed where only they think they look good. Few others think the same even in their stomping grounds, thank goodness.
Salad works just opened a can of worms:
@saladworks: Hey @Kateplusmy8! I heard you were a Saladworks fan! :-D Can we treat you to a night out?

I am definitely aging. Parts of the aging process are not completely flattering. But seeing the pictures of TFW (and some others) makes me feel really good about aging naturally. I eat normal food. I try to exercise but I'm not obsessive about it. My forehead moves. I'm not a beauty but I look a little younger than my real age. I really don't understand the botoxed plastic surgery look. It's so fake. Who made it a beauty standard?

*******
Well, I don't think they made hundreds of millions of dollars, but I do agree that J&K+8 was a money maker for TLC.
&&&
Good analogy yet definitely a sad one. I don't think she will ever just be content with the nice life she has, and I think it will hold back her children from true happiness. Or at the very least confuse them.
It looks like she did get a visit from at least some kids

I'm pleasantly surprised that even in L.A. people have the sense to not see aggressive alterations as a necessity.
&&&

This is the quintessential Hollywood style that I think got huge exposure from Jonathon Antin's show Blow Out.
Funny how Kate's on Twitter silence and she's being outed.
I was wondering why there where no reports of her in NYC or PA.
Glad the kids, some or all, got to spend time with her for her birthday.

If they look to her as a role model (who could forget "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels"),
I worry about what issues they might face, and the messages they're overtly and subtly receiving about appearances.

So sorry!

Yes, that's bs ,but "celebs" with money are always getting swag, food and entertainment for free, of course in exchange for the name recognition.

Saladworks @saladworks · 2h
@ConcernedChick Thanks for the heads up. Seriously. Our apologies - we didn't mean to offend.
Saladworks @saladworks · 2h

To which saladworks replied:
Saladworks @saladworks · 1h
@LakeRat2014 We didn't take anything back - we just apologized because we didn't mean to stir a pot.
So now all the sheeple are up in arms thinking that the haters caused Kate to miss out on free food. Even Milo joined the fray:

Saladworks has been very respectful and replied to all. The haters and fans should now drop it. Both groups have made their point. Both the haters and fans look like idiots for continuing to press the point. Bottom line is that Saladworks offered a meal which they will honor if TFW replies. It doesn't matter what anyone says. Saladworks is replying to the individual and keeping TFW's timeline out of it and good for them.
Informing someone of your opinion on giving freebies to wealthy celebrities is not "bullying" Milo.
A company can make a private phone call or email to Kate if they don't want this to be public. Instead ,they put it on twitter for anyone to see, and if people would like to comment, they may.

Lol at this exchange
@msprout: currently watching people argue about kate gosselin online. 3 hours, going strong.
@JRLu: @msprout Who?
@msprout: @JRLu bored housewives on my work account
@JRLu: @msprout No, I mean who is Kate Gosselin?
@msprout: @JRLu the woman from Kate Plus 8.
@JRLu: @msprout WTF is that
@msprout: @JRLu google JR.
Is just like to point out that I called this war at the first tweet by saladworks haha
BTW saladworks does have really yummy food

Agree, time to stop pushing back and forth. Say your piece and get out.
I hope this isn't going to be another NoNetzGate.
That was ridiculous.

Baw-hahaha. Spew my coke award of the day.
I'm going to go off topic here for a moment.
DONATE!
Just thought of something. Wonder if the guy watching the bored housewives on his work account is the guy tweeting for saladworks hahahaha or of he at least work for them
@JRLu: @msprout No, I mean who is Kate Gosselin?

lol! Maybe we should start calling her WHN (for What's Her Name).
Admin: Asshole: works for me!
I noticed how Kate is trying to hide her turkey neck! like she sometimes, trys to hide her wonky eye, both with her hair. Sorry Kate, necks always give age away. Unless you have them fixed. But with you, even if you had a neck lift, the tanning will still make your neck look like TURKEY NECK!
Kate fans, kate just loves you fans, she loves you so much, that is why she is so silent, since 3/25. It's 3/31, where oh where is Kate? Not even a thanks for buying pies or even a thanks for all birthday wishes. Shameful girl! (snark)
Admin: still having aftershocks?

Great reminder to donate and volunteer.
I'm glad you are being so productive and have renewed enthusiasm for your giving pursuits!
GKD - I agree on all your points. My mother (who is turning 95 on Wed.) recently moved to assisted living. Sorting through her things, taking some, donating some, etc. Before I can bring much more into MY house, I have to make room, too.
How's this for a slogan: Don't be K8, don8!
I thought Babble was one of the few who only wrote rainbows and unicorn farts about TFW (along with that Shaw woman at Gather....speaking if which...she hasn't written anything in forever!)...maybe they are finally catching on!!??!!

Do the men in California also succumb to plastic surgery? And to all the women we have been talking about here, it is called "plastic" surgery for a reason.
******
I'm sure there are plenty of celebrities (and some non-celebs) all across the country to have cosmetic procedures done.
OT:
GKD: While it is fine to donate, there are some things, that should be sold on e-bay, cause they have some value.
